《REINCARNATED AS A WEREWOLF》 1. The dim light poured in through my window as I sleepily blinked my eyes open. I slowly got out of my bed and tripped over something on the floor, I hit my face on the floor and just laid there. "Shit..." I grumbled, getting up and feeling my face. I winced as I brushed over an already developing bruise. I walked out of my room and went down to the kitchen, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. "Mornin'' mom." I yawned, opening the fridge and grabbing a yogurt. "Good morning," she said formally, not bothering to look at me. I shrugged and ate the yogurt quickly. "I''m off to school, mom," I mumbled, not wanting to upset her. "Open your fucking mouth when you speak to me!" she snapped. "And straighten your posture, you''re going to end up looking like a hunchback if you keep standing like that," she said, grabbing my shoulders and straightening my back for me. "Sorry, mom..." I said, trying my best to speak without mumbling. "Mmh. Get lost, and don''t you dare pretend to be tired or sad, I do not want to speak to your teacher about your ''glum attitude'' again!" she sneered, doing air quotations aggressively. "Yes, mom..." I sighed, slinging my backpack around my shoulder as I walked to the front door. "See you after school, Mom!" I shouted before leaving for school. As I was walking I started to feel sick so I slowed down and tried to catch my breath, the world around me began to spin violently. A bloody vomit began to spew out of my mouth as I collapsed to the ground, the world slowly became blurry and darker as I felt my limbs jerk and thrash. My ears began to ring and my vision was fogged as the world slowly faded into nothingness. I opened my eyes into a haze of blurriness, everything around me was so colourful, it made my stomach twist with a sweet nauseousness that couldn''t be properly described. I stretched out my limbs and then realized, this isn''t my body. I looked down and saw two furry little paws where my legs usually were. "What the...?" I thought, I tried desperately to speak but only small, growls came out. My mind was full of panic as I tried to understand my situation. What am I? Where am I? What''s going on? I started running until I heard a distant sound of running water, I quickly followed the sound and when I got to the water I looked into it, a figure of a wolf stared back at me, the wolf had fur as dark as the night with amber eyes that glared deeply into my soul. I soon realized that the wolf was me. I was a wolf now. Everything was so confusing, one minute I was running as a wolf and the next I felt a tingly sensation and I was a human again, only this wasn''t my body. My new body was strong and my face was now hard and handsome. My hair is now black instead of the muddy brown I was so used to and my blue eyes were now a piercing brown. It took some time to get used to constantly phasing back and forth from wolf to human, but eventually, I could do it without even having to prepare myself. This book was originally published on Royal Road. One day, I was going for one of my usual hunting trips for food when I came across a large tower, I shifted back to my human form, not bothering to cover up. I saw a staircase that led up to the top of the tower, I slowly climbed it and came across a wooden door. I knocked and heard something scrambling around inside. The door swung open and standing there was a man with a large cloak wrapped around his small frame. He noticed my obvious nakedness and his face turned beet red. "Uhhh... Hello?" I said, trying to ignore him staring at my body. "Who are you?!" He started, his eyes darting up to meet mine. The blush on his face hadn''t faded, in fact, it had worsened. "Ummm..." I tried to think of a name, crap, I should''ve named myself a long time ago. "Quill...?" I said, looking at his quill pen on his messy desk against the tower''s window. "Quill? That''s an unusual name..." He mumbled. "And what business do you owe here?" He interrogated. "Business? I just saw a tower and thought ''oh wow, a tower, I''ve been out here for so long and haven''t seen anyone so I must be the only one left so no one going to be in here!" I shouted, feeling unusually angry. "Then why did you knock?" he asked, raising an eyebrow. "I dunno," I shrugged. "I was trying to be hopeful, y''know?" I flashed my unusually sharp canines at him in a grin and he stumbled back a bit. "Are you okay?" I asked, a frown cast upon my face. He nodded fervently and cleared his throat. "I am Boline the wizard of this region. And yes, technically you are the only one left in this world, well... of your type. All of the other werewolves have been extinct for decades, you''re the first one I''ve seen in person..." he explained, eyeing me up and down, his eyes lingering on my lower area. This time I was the one to blush. "Please, come in." He ushered me inside, he disappeared into a small room for a few seconds and came back with a pair of black shorts and threw them at me. I quickly dressed into them and then sat on a chair he had pulled out for me. "I want to examine you... You are so, so rare..." he mumbled, eyeing me once again. I wasn''t aware of how special I was. "Ummm... sure? Do you want me to like... take off my clothes again...?" I asked slowly. "What? No! I just want to come with you, like, on adventures or whatever!" He stammered, a blush creeping on his face again. "Come with me...? Fine. Some company would be nice anyway..." I rolled my eyes and stood up again. "Come on then, let''s get going." I said, walking out the door, once again, my life had changed. 2. The wind brushed past my face as the trees around us swayed rhythmically. I momentarily glanced at Boline, who seemed to be half asleep as he lazily trudged along the path. "Let''s stop here for the night..." I mumbled, slumping against a tree, the rough bark scraping my back with dozens of already healing wounds. Boline sighed as he sleepily curled up against a fallen log, resting his head on the soft moss as if it was a pillow. "Goodnight, Quill," he yawned, almost immediately falling asleep. My mind raced with unending thoughts as I desperately fought for a well-needed sleep. Although my mind was buzzing as if it were a hornet''s nest, sleep finally settled in as the twilight skies faded into the dark abyss of the night. When I woke up the next morning, Boline was nowhere to be found. "Boline...?" I shouted worriedly and began looking around the area. Suddenly a gut-wrenching scent filled my unsuspecting nostrils, the closer I got, the worse the smell got. The scent was coming from behind a large bush I hadn''t seen before. It was full of berries with a deep colour of red, as I got closer, I noticed they seemed to be dripping. Swallowing nervously, I rounded the bush, desperate to discover what this awful smell was. When I finally made my way to the end of the bush, the nauseating sight burned into my eyes. There lie Boline, half of his head was chewed off, his right eye had been ripped out of its socket and was now lying next to him. His brain was exposed, a few chunks of it were scattered around his cranial area, along with fragments of his skull in the pool of blood that seeped from his torn brain. I felt dizzy as the world around me spun, bile spewed from my mouth as I tried to walk away, my legs felt like they were made of lead, they wouldn''t move. The scene worsened as my vomit spilled over Boline''s remains, chunks of yesterday''s dinner stuck to his horrified face. Before I could realize it, I was running. I didn''t care where I was running to, the gory image was burned into my brain, I kept seeing it over and over again, no matter how fast I ran or how loud I sobbed, it was still there. Tears poured down my cheeks as I ran, I ended up running into a dark forest. I had been here before, so I knew my way around. With each step, the forest would get darker and darker until there was finally no light left. I stopped walking there and sat down on the cold, hard ground. Warm tears continued to stream down my face as I stared into the complete darkness, trying my hardest to block out everything that had just happened, yet It still found a way to creep its way back into my mind. I felt nauseous and alone, although I had never even gotten to know Boline that well, I mourned for him, wishing it had been me instead. Destined to find who had done this to him, I stood up, wiping my tears. I marched out of the forest and started my journey to find Boline''s killer. This narrative has been purloined without the author''s approval. Report any appearances on Amazon. 3. Roots tore from the ground as I trudged through the forest, it felt as if I was being watched, every step felt like torture. I couldn''t stop thinking about Boline, the way his brown hair brushed against his shoulder, and how he would smile at any shitty joke I''d made, regardless if it was funny or not. He was so nice to me in the short period I''d known him, it was like we were destined to be together as if the universe was purposely trying to get us together. My poor, sweet Boline was ripped away from my tightly bound arms, though, they weren''t as tight as I had thought, I had let him get killed, usually, I''d wake up to the sound of a bug crawling, but somehow I hadn''t woken up when my Boline was killed. The trees shook violently as the wind began to pick up, I wish the wind could blow me away, back into the life I''d lived before, with my bitch of a mother and my constant fear of disappointing her. Maybe I should''ve been nicer to her, even after everything she''d done to me, every slap, every word which flowed out of her mouth she couldn''t seem to shut, maybe I wouldn''t have ended up here, I would be at school, studying for a test a month away. I wouldn''t be here, mourning over the boy I''d fallen for in less than twenty-four hours, I wouldn''t be wishing I was still in the life I''d so desperately tried to escape. When Boline came into my life, I felt happy and content, I thought maybe, just maybe, that in at least one of my lives, I''d be happy for at least one day, or more, maybe if Boline was still here, I wouldn''t be in the middle of a forest Id never been in. I soon snapped out of my depressing inner monologue and quickly looked around my surroundings. All I could see were trees that drowned out the sunlight I''d thought I had just seen. The trees jerked and thrashed with the wind which seemed to worsen each passing second. I desperately tried to catch a scent I could recognize, one that could lead me home, there were no recognizable scents, just the stench of thousands of unknown territory. The wind howled around me, lightning struck a few feet away from me, causing me to accidentally shift into my wolf form. Suddenly, my senses heightened, I sniffed the ground and managed to trace a small scent from Boline''s... corpse. I shuddered and shook off the image as I dashed forwards, the sickly sweet scent growing stronger each time my paw thudded into the hard dirt. Just before I ran to the body, a new scent picked up, the scent I''d never been introduced to, it was faint, almost as if someone had tried to mask their scent. I shoved my nose into the ground, inhaling the musky aroma. Even though it was unknown, it smelt oddly familiar, it almost smelt the same as I did, the only difference being how much stronger this thing was, each whiff was like a punch to my sensitive nostrils. Along with the unknown scent, was Boline''s blood, the coppery smell was far stronger than the musk of this beast, the musk was freakishly captivating, I couldn''t help but want to find the owner, it made my gut spin just thinking about it. God, what the hell am I thinking, this thing killed my Boline. How could I ever think of anyone like that, especially the one who murdered my Boline? I shook my head and began to trace the scent, hoping this thing would kill me before I got to it.
