《The girl with the scar》 Chapter 1 "Are we almost there?" "Almost", mom said. We were going to a friend''s house, or at least that''s what dad said. They didn''t want to say their name. The only thing dad said is that they''re friends and that they have a girl my age. I looked outside, it was dark, so dark I could barely see the trees. It must have been night, although I didn''t understand why we were visiting friends at night. I heard the patter from the rain against the windows, I saw a bright flash and after that a rumble from the thunder. I closed my eyes; I don''t like thunder. "I wanna go home." I heard my sister Elizabeth say. I open my eyes and look at her, she had her thick blond hair in a ponytail on the top of her head, and her round glasses on the tip of her nose. I smile. Those glasses are really the funniest glasses ever. Elizabeth is 9 and my big sister, I always call her Lizzy though, just to annoy her because she is always mean and whiny. Now that Lizzy stopped talking it''s quiet again. I only heard the rain against the windows and my own breathing, nothing else. I looked outside again. We were now driving on a street with a lot of townhouses. But something wasn''t quite right though. I just couldn''t figure out what it was. I thought I was probably just being paranoid. The car stopped. "Are we there?" Liz asked. "Yes". I heard mom say. I looked at the house we stopped at. It was a small black house, and there was a big grey van parked in front of the house. So that must be their van. I also saw some stones that look like a path that leads to their door. It''s very pretty. "Hey sleepy head, aren''t you gonna come out?" I look sideways, there is mom standing, holding the car door open for me. I didn''t notice she was there. "Sorry" I said and I quickly got out of the car. I started following dad and Lizzy who had already gotten out of the car, and were on their way towards the house. Support the creativity of authors by visiting the original site for this novel and more. We stopped in front of the door and dad pressed the doorbell. When I saw the doorbell I realized it was really the most weird and unique doorbell I have ever seen. It is bright blue and has a wavy pattern on it. It was the shape of a heart and very thick. "Bzzzz'''' I heard. "What was that!?!!" I heard my frightened sister say. "It''s just the doorbell honey", I heard mom say. A very loud doorbell though, I thought, because the sound still radiated through my body and I noticed I''m shivering. Again I have the feeling something isn''t quite right. Then the door opens and a very nice looking lady around her thirties with very blond hair with a braid over her shoulder stands in front of me. She has a big smile and says: "Come in, come in, welcome back!" Why did she say welcome back? I don''t know her and I''ve never seen her before. When we''re inside and mom closed the door behind her, the nice looking lady looked at mom and dad and said: "my name is Katherine Jones, what''s yours?" "John and Hannah Brown." Dad said. Then the nice looking lady named Katherine looks at Lizzy, "And what''s your name?" "My name is Elizabeth," Liz said proudly. Then the nice looking lady walks towards me "And what''s your name?" just as I wanted to answer mom said "Her name is Miriam. She''s a bit shy." Then the lady says: "But she can''t possibly be shy of me, I know her very well." She knows me? But I have no clue. who she is, I take a few steps back. "You''re 6. That''s nice. I have a daughter who is 6 as well." she smiles, and I saw all her too perfect white teeth. " I''ll go get her. Hey Jeremy!" She yells looking at the kitchen behind her. "Come here! And bring Abby too!" I look at the kitchen behind her but I see no one. "Aaaaaaah!" I hear a little girl''s voice scream. I don''t understand what''s happening. I quickly look behind me at mom but she just stares at Katherine and looks scared and confused as well "NO! DON''T! I DON''T WANT TO!!!" I hear the little girl yell. The girl sounds like the girl my age. Aaaaaah" I hear again¡ Chapter 2 "Aaaaah!" Then I saw a girl running towards us. The girl had blond hair just over her shoulders and she¡¯s got bangs. She looked about 5 years old. Then I saw it, her whole left arm was covered in blood. What happened? "Don¡¯t you dare!" I heard a man¡¯s voice yell. Then I saw a man around his late thirties with a knife in his hand running after the girl. Without thinking I grabbed the girl''s hand and ran away. "No!" I heard the man yell. I looked behind me and I saw mom and dad running behind me, just behind that I saw a very annoyed Liz stumbling behind, and behind that I saw that man. Then I looked at the girl, she looked really tired, "I can¡¯t go go any anymore" she said, stuttering. "Just keep going for a little longer okay? Until we¡¯re behind those houses." I pointed at the houses before us. "Because then he can¡¯t see us anymore" "Okay" she said. When we were behind the houses I stopped and went to sit on the street. The girl came to sit beside me. "What the hell were you thinking?!!" I heard dad say to me. "That man was hurting her, I couldn''t just stand there and watch him do that! She was yelling no, she clearly didn¡¯t want to!" I said. "He was trying to take my clothes off" The girl said happering, "But I didn¡¯t want to and then he grabbed that knife¡" I looked over at her, she looked really scared and was shaking all over. Then my sister said with a mean laughing little voice, "Yeah right, I don¡¯t believe that, dads don¡¯t hurt their children and they sure wouldn¡¯t take the clothes of a little girl like you, you don¡¯t have anything, not even boobs. I think you¡¯re just making this up." "Shut up!!" I yelled. Then I looked back at the girl, she started to cry even harder and the blood kept coming out of a hole in her arm. "I¡¯m sorry" I said. She had beautiful blue eyes like the ocean, and her face was so beautiful. If her arm wasn¡¯t so red she would have been perfect, almost like an angel. "What¡¯s your name?" mom asked the girl, interrupting my thinking. "Abigail," the girl said. "Well abigail." we¡¯re going to have to take you back, your mother must be worried." "No please, don¡¯t take me back, please, please, can I stay with you, I belong with you, please, please, I can¡¯t go back, dad will hurt me again, please¡" She started to cry harder and harder. "Mom, please, we can¡¯t send her back, let¡¯s take her home with us. She can stay in my bed." I saw my mom frowning. "I don¡¯t know, John, what do you think?" I looked at dad, "please" "Okay, she can come with us." Dad said. Then we started walking back to the car and stepped in. Then we drove home with Abigail with us. To be continued.
