 As Midnight Approaches

    It is close to midnight. Both Drew and Chelsea have fallen asleep.


    Somer drunkenly stumbles from the kitchen to the living room with a fresh drink in hand.

    Both women start to giggle.

    ¡°Of course! Of course¡­To tell you the truth, I don¡¯t believe that monogamy is natural. We¡¯re all just animals, are we not?¡±


    ¡°Hey! Penguins mate for life, don¡¯t they?¡± Kobi challenges her.


    Kobi and Somer start to giggle again.

    ¡°So what if I am?¡±, she sinks into the sofa as she slurs.


    Kobi gets up and heads towards her bedroom door.


    ¡°I¡¯ll see you in the morning,¡± she smiles back at Somer.

 Never Ever

    Kobi lies next to her wife, Drew.


    Her body is exhausted, but her mind is wide awake.


    What was Somer going on about? Non-monogamy? Drew and I have been together for 6 years. I love her. Why would I ever want to be with someone else? Has she lost her mind? Was she coming onto me?
