《She told me about aliens.》 She told me about aliens. We had a three-day weekend. Quite exciting when you¡¯re a senior and have already given up on school. Colleges don''t care about my last year¡ so why should I? Besides it being a 3 day weekend it was a pretty typical Saturday afternoon, I was working the front desk at a local gym. It''s what some might refer to as a ¡°not very exciting job¡±, I too refer to it as such. I pull out my phone and do what any 17-year-old would do when you¡¯re bored. I started to text all my friends. I didn¡¯t know ¡°alien-girl¡± before Labor day weekend. We happened to have mutual friends and it wasn¡¯t particularly unusual that we began to text. What was unusual was how fast we decided to hang out. Right then and there, later that Saturday night I was in her car. She drove me to a place she knew by the water. I can¡¯t remember the last time I looked out at the ocean. Living on an island makes it easy to forget how lucky you are. Alien-girl always seemed to be able to remind me how lucky I am. A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation. After about an hour of conversations sitting in the trunk of her car, I decided to muster up the courage to ask her to walk down on the dock with me. Let¡¯s just say¡ It''s very clear that this was a private dock and wasn¡¯t open to the public. Even with this knowledge, alien-girl hopped the fence with ease¡ and because she had, so did I. This is where it happened, between laughter and looking up at the stars¡ we ended up lying face up and staring at the stars. She began to tell me about the last time she looked up at the stars. ¡°Last time,¡± she said, ¡°a star so big appeared and burst across the sky¡ I was sure it was an alien¡±. All that was going through my head was ¡°how comfortable does someone have to be with you to tell you something as outlandish as that¡±. From that point on things just seemed easy with alien-girl. She was no longer just a girl¡ but she was my friend, someone I could tell things to. It''s crazy how the craziest things can create bonds between people. I still wonder when I''ll be able to tell someone about aliens.
