《Corrupted Redemption》


 Everything Scary

    I squeeze my teddy bear closer to me as i listen to the crack of my father''s belt against my mother. My ears ringing as she cries out in pain.


    "You are mine! I will never let you leave me." My father screams as another snap echos through our home. He is a vicious man. They said mates could never hurt one another. Well they were wrong !


    My mother had a mate. A true mate, but she was forced by her father to reject them and take my father as a chosen mate. All for a stupid treaty between packs. There was no love there and he proved just that everyday. He cares nothing for her or anyone else for that matter. Only power.


    I squeeze my eyes shut as tears hit my pillow. Mother had tried to get us away again. We barely made it to the packs border before father snatched my older brother Sinead off his feet, by his neck. A promise to snap it, if mother didn''t return at once. She had held on to my hand tightly. Tears filled her eyes as she bowed her head and craddled her swollen belly. No words were said as we slowly walked back to our home. The pack house.


    First he beat me. I cried out as his fists connected with my head, repeatedly. He then dipped his extended ws into a shimmering grey dust. Silver! The smell burned my throat and I held my cough in fear of making him even more upset. I barely had time to register my immediate danger. Before he racked them down my back letting my then crumple to the floor.


    The poison seared my skinand boiled my blood. Once he left , I slowly crawled to my bed. Trying to get in but failing and justying on my side next to it. It burned terribly. I knew I had tk clean it as I''d watched mama do with our warriors many times. But I was only 6 and didn''t know how, nor did i have a wolf yet so no rapid healing.


    I heard Sinead scream from his room realizing father was now punishing him for following mother. Until it went silent. Its been hours since our punishments. Hours since we''d returned. Hours since he started to whip mother and snap her bones. He was merciless. His pack stayed due to fear not loyalty. His Beta...Harris was no better and gave me the yuckies.     I knew he wouldn''t help, nobody would. Harris because he also enjoyed control and the others because they were scared. My mothwr Elizabet held this pack together with her love ,kindness and healing. She used to be a nurse but father made her stop. Once he realized the pack loved her more. Onest snap sounded before my mother fell silent.


    I peaked through myshes and strained to hear anything. I struggled to stand from my position on the floor before slowly opening my door. Painfully i stepped into the hall . My brother was already standing against the wall. His hair matted to a gash on his forehead. He looked to me with pitch ck eyes that held anger. But I knew it was towards me. He looked towards our parents room before cing his finger to his lips and crept down the hall.


    His fists clenched and unclenched at his sides. I gently touched his arm and he nodded. As we made it to the door and opened it. What we saw made my heart sink. Our mother lie lifeless on the bed, as our father''s bloody hands roamed the inside of her stomach. He looked crazed and frantic as his wolf whined.


    Not once did he acknowledge our presence. I stare into my mother''s dull eyes and she seemed to stare back at me. Tears streamed down my face. A cry brought my eyes back to my father. He craddled the bloody baby that minutes ago grew within our mother.


    "I''m sorry, I''m so sorry." His wolf mumbled into space. For a moment his eyes softened before the golden hue was rece once again by the evil green color of my fathers eyes. He began to slowly tighten his hold on the bloody buddle. Suddenly my father was thrown back. Instinctively my arms snatched the falling baby. His wails grew louder before ling silent. He was blue, very blue.

 Nightmares

    I shoot up in bed. My heart racing as sweat covers my body. I look around my dark room and know I won''t be going back to sleep. That night, like many others. Haunt me. It has been 6 years and my mother''s pale eyes still roam darkly in my mind. I throw my feet over my bed and head to the bathroom. I might as well get my day started.


    After a quickly cardio floor work out in my room. A nice hot shower and a change of close. I throw on my sneakers. I can hear the "<i>Alpha</i>" shouting from his office. I refuse to acknowledge the monster as anything else. Shaking my head , I continue out of my room and down the hall towards the library. The Alpha hasn''t really spoken to us nor has he acknowledged jara my baby brother in years. He tries to ce the me on him. I guess thinking it would gain sympathy from the pack. He was a fool indeed.


    I''m now twelve and I don''t go to school. The alpha feels I dont need it as I am needed here and once im of age I will be nothing more then a glorified incubator and other vile things. My only friends are my brothers Sinead and Jara. d who is Sinead''s best friend but we''re cool. And Ana my bestest friend in the world. Shes the gamma''s daughter and shes three years older then me. Where Sinead and d are six years older.


    Jara is 6 and although hes still a baby i guess he''s my closest confident outside of Ana of course. Ana''s father is a good man and Uncle. He''s beem more like a father to us then the Alpha ever could be. He is still very loyal to my mother who was best friends with histe mate and Ana''s mother. She had died giving birth to Ana so he was very over protective. We were more like sisters then friends.This belongs to N?velDrama.Org.


    Gamma Fredo hates the Alpha and his Beta. Even more so now that his " <i>Alpha</i>" has talen a liking to his own daughter at night. It started two years after mother died. He''d have his way with me and then beat me into secrecy. Using ill behaviors as an excuse for my bruises. Lately though hes stopped as I''ve locked my door or had jara and Ana in bed with me.


    We also had my mother''s half sister La. Shes a wolfless witch and teaches us basic school at homeas well as healing tonics. The Alpha knows not to mess with her. One time she did a spell thay gave him poison oak after he had smacked Jara. It was funny watching him scratch like a lunatic for weeks.

    I slowly put my pencil down amd sit back in my chair. "I need a snack or three." Injoke to Jara who''s chubby little hands are trying to break yet another crayon. I roll my neck and sigh. "How''s about we go get something to eat." I ce my hand on his and make him look at me. He nods excitedly and put the crayon down. I help him out of the chair and we leave the library.


    He doesn''t really speak in open spaces or to anyone but our close circle. I think he''s afraid he''ll get in trouble if the Alpha even so much as hears him. The Alpha gets drunk and spews lies to him. That he lilled mother but we make sure he knows thats not true amd that the "<i>Alpha</i>" is the true monster. That ourother loved him very much and she gave him his string name while in her belly.


    We make it to the kitchen and I help Jara onto a seat in front of the Ind and begin gathering the makings of sandwiches. As I finsh i slide one to Jara and take the seat next to him and take a bite. "Mmmm, now this is better then homework anyday." I lick the mustard from my fingers. As I take another bite, the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Loud footsteps grow closer to the kitchen.


    I painfully swallow and ce a ming hand on Jara''s arm. Alothough i can''t yet shift my Wolf lilly has been with me since that night and we know that smell all to well. Sour lemons and pine needles...yuck.


    The sound of steel toed boots stop behind us. My stomach curls as rough fingers brush the nape of my neck. I grimace and lightly grip my beother arm. "Hello pet, aren''t you happy to see me." Harris the Beta sickly whispers out. Causing vomit to rest just inside my throat.


    I lean my body away from hishand and turn to re at him. " Actually i became physically ill, as I do anytime you''re around." I grind out through clenched teeth. His brown eyes sh gold. "Easy... pet. We both know how easily I could make you eat those words." His eyes shed to Jara and a growl escapes my lips. "One day Harris, Sinead is going to rip your head from your shoulders." I huff out.


    He begins tough. Seriouslyugh. Throwing his head back in amusement. "If he doesn''t, I will." I growl. He stopsughing and gulpes. Fear shes in his eyes before he quickly corrects himself. " We''ll see about that....pet." He turns and storms out of the kitchen.

 Beta Harris

    I was tall for twelve, thanks to my Alpha genes. At 5''8 I was only an inch shorter then d and Ana but nothingpared to Snid''s massive 6''5 at 18. Even so I''d five my life to protect my family and packs from the likes of Harris and the "<i>Alpha</i>."


    After watching movies and binging Junk. I have Jara a bath and he fell asleep quickly after.


    I woke up in the dark. Jara was curled up into my side. His breathing was shallow leeting me know he was deeply asleep. He slept in my room most nights now for three years. After one of the alpha''s drunk assaults.


    A suffocating presence brought my attention to the door. The Alpha''s intimidating body took up the frame. " Get up ande to my office." He boomed not carrying for the sleeping child. I went to wake up Jara but the gruff voice stopped me. "Leave it. I''m sure you won''t be back tonight." He wickedly smirked. My heart began to race. "Wh..what." i stammer out.     Was he sending me away? Were the assults going to begin again? Did he want me out of the way to kill Jara?! I wrang my hands together before stepping into the office. As I enter I realized Harris sat in a chair across from the Alpha. "Close the door and sit fown." My "father" said lowly.


    I hesitantly did as i was told and sat on the couch as far away from Harris as possible. " Beta Harris has made a request concerming your future." I stared at my father , avoiding Beta Harris'' gaze. Fear squeezed my heart. " He''s asked to take you as a chosen mate, upon the mext blue moon." I shoot out of my chair. I have a mate... somewhere. Besides I''d only be 13. We don''t even recognize our mates until 16. This wasn''t fair. My wolf lilly growled. "But he''s old and I have a mate." I look at Beta Harris and show my disgust.


    He growls and the "<i>Alpha</i>" smiles wickedly. "Be that as it may. He''s experienced. I know your future and this pack''s is secure with him." He brushes off my concerns wistfully. "Why is he doing this. Does he truly not care." Lilly whimpers. This is so wrong. "You''ll be going home with him to start the bonding process." The Alpha states.


    As I go to speak he holds his hand up. "No worries Lexi. He''s not to touch you... against your will that is." Tears cloud my vision as Beta Harris grabs my arm and leads me out of the office. As the doors slowly close , i look back at the Alpha, my father. Who has begun fiddling with papers on his desk. He wasn''t going to save me.


    I link my inner circle and tell them where I was. Leaving out whats happening. I tell them to take care of Jara and esch other. I start to hear Jara and d protest before I close the link.


    The ride to the Beta''s home is silent. A few times I catch him ncing at me. His eyes full of an emotion I didn''t understand. It made me ufortable , so I turned toward the window. His home same at the border of the territory so it took almost ten minutes to arrive.


    My legs shake as he unlocks the front door. As he opens it he looks at me again with thay unknown predatory stare. "Wee home....pet." He snirks evily. Bile rises in my throat as he said "home." I walk in and stamd by the entrance. The walls mimick that of a cabin. The entrance leads to what appears to be a living room. A fire cast a loght glow onto a burgundy colored couch.


    "Come, let me get you a drink." Harris huffs. I slowly gulp and follow him through the living room. We enter a very modern kitchen and i cautiously sit on a stool in front of an ind. Harris opens a cupboard and removes two sses. He then pours a bottle filled with brown liquid into the sses and brings them both to where I am sat. I stare at the ss in front of me. It smelled like the poison the Alpha kept in his office. The sour smell burned my nose.


    "It''s just a drink. It won''t kill you." Harris chuckles. I look at Harris before gingerly brought the ss to my lips. The liquid burned as it flowed down my throat. I began to cough, causing Harris tough. "Was that your first drink?" Heughs. I nod and wipe the back of my hand across my mouth. "It''s nasty." I whisper. My chest is still warm, too warm and my head felt fuzzy.


    Harris poured two more. This time the sses were full. He nudged mine towards me. "It gets better with each cup. I promise." He chuckled. "Lex.... don''t...dri...wolf..sp...you... can''t...leeee." Lilly was trying to talk but i couldn''t focus and soon he rvoice disappeared. I picked up the cup, more confident this time and drank the contents.


    It still warmed my chest but burned my throat a little less. We drank a few more sses each and moved to the living room..Harris was funny when he wanted to be or maybe it was the funny drink making me less afraid. I wasughing at something Harris said when he put his hand on my leg.


    I gulp. Nobody ever touched me like thay. Not even the Alpha when he used me. Boys my age still thought girls had cooties. Lillys weak growl vibrated in my head. "I don''t feel so well." I stand up and sway in ce. "Hey,e on lets get you lied down." A blurry Harris says.


    He led me to a big room. Therge ned looks reallyfy. Heys me down and takes off my shoes. He then starts to unbutton my pants. "S...stop." My voice is weak. He doesn''t listen and removes them and my underwear. "Please....stop." i try to say a little louder. Tears fill my eyes but my limp limbs wont move. Something warm touches the inside of my legand then my stomach. "Don''t worry pet. I''ll be gentle." Harris growls iny ears before he pounds into me. It hurts and my heart begins to race before everything goes ck.

 Its for the best

    I wake up the next day in pain down there but in my own bed. I slowly slide from my bed and wobble to my bathroom. I look at myself in the mirror. My light honey eyes are puffy from crying. My neck hurts something terrible. I turn in my reflection and see arge tooth printed bruise. It sits right above my cor bone.... right where my mate would mark me.


    It looks infected. I look down at my body, checking every inch. Between my legs feels sore and rash like. My wolf whimpers at what "<i>He</i>" did to us. A memory shes in my mind of That beast grunting on top of me and a disgusting shiver rolls over my body. Tears spring to my eyes. Aunt taught me about mating. She also said it should inly hurt for a moment before you feel your souls intertwine. I feel less whole then i did before he did "it".


    I thought the Alpha said he wouldnt touch me. Sobs rack my body. What do I do now. I''ve always wanted to wait for my mate. What if this is all the Goddess had nned for me. If so i don''t want it. This text is property of N?/velD/rama.Org.


    I get in the shower and begin to scrub my skin raw. I don''t understand why but I feel dirty. So so dirty. Lilly cries with me as our tears mix with the spray of the water. Our mate will never want us now. They will never save us now.


    As I step out of the shower and wrap my arms around my shivering body. I stand here frozen. This is my reality now. Mates with a monster. The sound of my bedroom door crashing open and closed. Causes me to jump. Is he back? Maybe he''ll just finish me now like the Alpha did mother. I''d rather it be before children.


    I scream as the bathrrom door ms open. I look up and tears once again fill my eyes. She doesnt say anything but grabs my towel hanging on the rack and wraps is around me securely. "Why are you standing here. Come on lets get you dressed, your freezing." Ana leads me to my bed and quickly grabs some close. "I''m sorry, I thought you were "him" and i couldn''t move.


    Ana hands me a sun dress and begins helping me dress. Once I''m covered she sits next to me. "Lex what happened and why did you think i was the Alpha." She has concern in her eyes and I can''t help the sob that escapes me. "Not the Alpha, <i>Harris</i>." I try to look at her as the tears blut my vision. "He...he...and my down there...my neck Ana." I son out. Ana turns my head slightly andnher eyes widen. She grabs me and hold me in a tight hug.


    "We have to tell someone Lex. Maybe my dad I don''t knwo someone. He can''t get away with this


    It''s against ourws!" My best friend is now shake in my arms with rage. "Ana the Alpha gave me to him. I''m to be his chosen mate on my next birthday." Ana gasps. Just then my door flies open revealing a seething Snid.


    His eyes are a golden Brown mixed with ck. "I''m going to kill them!" His wold growls. Barely in control Sinead paces my room. Ana quickly leaves my side and goes to my brother. She runs her hands up his arms calming him down instantly. "Are you guys?" I ask excited but sad. They both smile ate sadly before nodding. "That''s why outside of checking on you after the weird linkst night. I wanted to tell you." Ana whispers. I get up and limp to them. I squeeze them both in a tight hug.


    "This is awesome you guys." I smile weakly. I am very happy for them but so heart broken for lilly and I. We''ll never have this. Ana had her first shift two weeks ago on a birhtday trip to see her grandparents. I think her dad knew she''d find her mate and just wanted onest little girl moment with his baby.


    "Seriously Lex, I''ll kill them both and anyone who follows those sick bastards." My brother all but growls. I smile because I know he would but he won''t have to. "I''m gonna be ok, I promise. I just need time alone." They both nod unsure before they leave my room.


    Iy in my bed, unable to sleep until night falls. Then I slip from my bed and pack a bag. I wont risk my brothers, Ana, d or MY mother''s pack. I leave the house and run full speed to the borders. Once there I just keep running. Ill go as far as I can until my body gives up. At least they will be safe. I hope.

 ANA: Shes gone

    I tossed and turned all night. I knew Alpha Druid was cruel but to taint his own daughter. I didn''t want to leave herst yesterday but both Sinead and I could smell the blood. She asked for space and we would give her that. She''s my best friend, three years younger or not.I will be there for her when she''s ready.


    I stretched and quickly use the bathroom before changing my clothes. I was still at my father''s home until Sinead turned 19 and took over as Alpha....or something happens before then. As I was brushing my hair, Snid bursts into my room.This text is property of N?/velD/rama.Org.


    "She''s gone!" He said frantically. Once the words left his mouth, my ears began to ring. Gone....gone where? I attempt to mindlink her but she has blocked me out. I was starting to panic too and I could tell Sinead felt it through our bond. Confirmation to him I didn''t know anything either.


    Sineaf turns and races down the stairs with me close behind him. I follow him out of my house and run barefoot at his side. When we reach the pack house Sinead wastes no time storming up the stairs to the Alpha''s office. He didn''t even wait before he kicks the door in.


    "Where is she!" His wolf was at the surface and I knew that even I wouldn''t be able to calm them both. This was his baby sister. Alpha Druid pales at his out burst. "Where...where is who." The asshole has the nerve to y stupid in the face of his unhinged son and his wolf. Sinead circles the desk and grabs his neck.


    "Don''t toy with me you bastard! Where is Alexi!" Just then a warrior runs into the office. The warriors eyes grewrge as he looks on at the situation before him. His wolf clearly acknowledging the true Alpha as he bares his neck to Snid. "Alpha its beta Harris." Sinead squeezes Druids neck tighter. "What about that scumbag." Sinead was practically foaming at the mouth. "He''s dead sir." Sinead jerks his head towards the warrior and a cruel smile spreads across his face.


    The warrior again bares his neck and turns to leave. "Luna" he bows politely to me and I''m stuck there, shocked. "You''re next!" Sinead drops his fathers body to the floor. Druid gasps for air. Fear evident in his eyes. Sinead goes to the door and calls back the same warrior. "Get a group of your best trackers together and go search for my sister." The warrior went to leave and Druid finally finds his voice.


    "I am the Alpha, you listen to me!" Sinead began tough manically as the warrior looks to him. "Go and search every where." The warrior nodd and leaves quickly calling to other guards as he goes. Sd turns back to Druid and stands at full height. His aura causing Druid to gasp for air again. My wolf just swooning at his dominance, purring with pride.


    "Not for long! I, Snid Alexander challenge you Druid Alexander for Alpha of the Ridgewolf Pack!" Snid and his wolf bellow out. Druids eyes search frantically around the room. Before he schools his features. "Challenge epted. We do this at dawn." Snid began to chuckle again. "No old man, we do this NOW! To the death!"


    I gasp but feel Snid soothing my nerves through the bond. He has something on Druid. He grabs his father and drags him out to the front of the Pack house. He links his best friend, now Beta d and she gathers the pack. "Ridgewolf pack. Before you is the lump of an "<i>Alpha</i>" who has tormented us all. But no one more then my mother whom he killed." The crowd gasps, some growl at him.


    Snid contines. "My baby brother, whom he has neglected since he tore him from our mother''s stomach, myself andstly my sister whom he handed over to his sick, perverse "<i>Beta</i>" as a choosen mate...at 12!" The pack began to bare their teeth and move closer to druid in attempt to get him. Snid holds his hand up to stop them.


    "He justifies his actions by stating he is the Alpha." Snid says with venom in his voice. "My sister is now missing a week before her 13th birthday and injured but to what extent we don''t know." At that d whimpers before focusing on Druid. her chest rising and falling as she fights her wolf for control. Snid must link her because she nods and calms down slightly. I guess he knows why she''s upset.


    "So family! I have challenged this pathetic excuse of an Alpha. Is there anyone here who objects?" I look around the group of people and no one speaks up. Looks of disgust and anger towards Druid were all you can see. Snid drags Druid to his feet. The two begin to cirlce each other. Druid swiping wildly at Snid but missing.


    Snid slides between Druids legs and uses his arms to spin with his leg extended. Swiping Druids legs from under him, sending him to the ground. He quickly angles his knees and spins up right. Druid was growling from the ground, slipping as he tries to stand. As he got to his knees Snid kicks him in his ribs. A sick crunch sounds and Druid begins to wheeze.


    Snid steps back and Druid staggers to his feet holding his side. He begins to shift and a golden brown wolf stands in his ce. We all gasp. He wasnt ck! We had never seen his wolf. He always patrolled with Harris and never did pack runs using treaties and work as excuses. Once the kids were to old to use of course. Snid looks shocked and thenughs. "My mother! You are an Alpha be marriage and marking! I could end this by iming my title right now! I AM THE TRUE BORN ALPHA!" Snid chuckles and the crowd does too. "Pathetic." Just then Druids wolf runs andtches onto Snids shoulder. This pisses Snid off and he roars before shifting into his magnificent ck wolf Zeus. He dislodges Druid in his shift and snaps his jaws at him.


    He starts to drag druid back and forth in the dirt while shaking his massive head. As Snids wolf locks his jaws around Druids neck the wolf whimpers. His eyes tell that he knows he''s going to die. With one final snap Zeuses and drops Druids body at my feet. He just publicly imed he as his luna. Tears fill my eyes as I nod at him and smile.


    The ground rumbles with the stomping of feet. Howls fill the space as Snid shifts back and turns to his pack. Every member present bares their necks to their new Alpha and Luna. Except for a few that will be handledter. des to Snids'' side. He extends a w and slices both of their ms. As they sp hands d''s Beta aura amplifies. She then bares her neck and smiles before hugging Snid.


    Congrattions fill my head. But none of them are Alexi. "We''ll find her, I promise my love." Snid whispers and holds me close. I just hope we aren''t tote when we do.

 LEXI: Our new Life

    I don''t know how long I''ve been running but the sun has set, risen and set again. The sound of flowing water carches my attention. So I run towards it. Ie upon the stream and quickly fall to me knees. Greedily taking a drink in my cupped hands. The cool water soothes my dry throat.


    An owl hoots in the distance. I look around but everything is cast in shadows. "Lilly I''m scared." I whimper. We''ve never been this alone. Lilly purs in my head. "I know Lexi, don''t worry I''ll protect us." I rise to my feet and begin walking through the woods.


    "How? We can''t shift. I''m just luck you are an alpha and give me strength and healing." I am terrified. Lilly purs to m be but doesn''t say anything else. After walking for about an hour it feels. Before Ie up on what seems like an abandoned barn


    "I don''t smell any new scents." Lilly states and I nod. I creep up and open the door. Immediately the dust hits my face followed by the smell of old hay. "At least it''s somewhere safe." I mumble to Lilly. I step in and close the door. I find arge piece of wood and bar the door shut.


    Thank the goddess for my heightened vision. Nothing has lived in here for a very, very long time. I wrap my arms around myself and slowly walk deeper into the barn. I find atter and climb it cautiously. It leads to a loft covered in hay. Sleep hits me hard. This belongs to N?velDrama.Org.


    Iy down some hay and find an old sack to use as a nket. Before long darkness took over. My nightmares are of Harris, My father amd my poor mother greyish skin.

    I shoot up and look around. The sun now filters through a small window at the high point of the barn. "Good morning Lexi." Lilly yawns out. I want to be happy to be up but we''re still here. Alone. The unknown gripping at my chest.


    "What are we going to do Lilly?" Tears spring to my eyes. "Why don''t we stay here." Was she crazy! We can''t stay here....could we? I make my way down thetter and look around. There is one window, the frame of the barn is in pretty good shape. I find three nnel shirts and two paris of muddy slim mens jeans in a stall.


    Good thing i grabbed a good amount of clothes. There are several stbale nkets I wish I''d foundst night. And what seems like a hose system that leads to a sink in the back of the barn. I find several pieces of spare wood and grab along piece. I set it on a discarded trough..a table I guess.


    I pull a hay stack to the other side and make a makeshift couch. In one stall I find a pair of work boots. At the end of the barn there is a stic mirror. Of course I''ll have to relieve myself outside. I open the door and circle the barn.


    There stands an outhouse. No thank you. I squint my eyes and see nothing but masses ofnd. We are truly alone out here. "We''ll always have each other." Lilly states. I smile, yes we will survive... together. I look aroudn thend and see a garden. Green tomatoes, carrots and onions grew wildly.


    I don''t have the ability to shift yet but Lilly''s speed and direction help me hunt. I remember Aunt La teaching us how to make traps too. Small game will do until I get the nerve to hunt bigger. I return inside with a few tomatoes and go to the small sink.


    I pray to the goddess and turn the knobs. At first it sputters and creaks. Then like rain on a hot day, water shoots out. I p my hands and jump around. Yes we will definitely be ok.


    After I tidy up the barn a little it felt clean but not quite home. I slump onto a hay stack and allow my tears to finally fall again. I miss my brothers. Even if Sinead is over protective and Jara is almost , always silent. I miss Ana and d. Lilly whimpers when I think of d and it confuses me. I miss my bed,my pack and the pack pups who fillowed Jara and I everywhere.


    I take out the picture of my mom and let the tears fall on the frame. "I wish you were here. You''d help me...right?" I hug the picture to my chest and I sob. Lilly whimpers in my head. I know she wants to be strong but I can feel shes also scared. We are only 12 even if Lilly has lived many lifetimes. We are alone and packless.


    We aren''t old enougg to know any packs to run to. And even if we did the fear we''d be found or they''d tell Alpha. Stopped us from looking for anyone. What if they didn''t help? What if they we''re worse? I wipe the tears from my face and curl up around my mom.

 ANA: A Gift

    It''s been 4 months since our trackers started searching for Lexie but her scent ran cold at a stream 7 miles from the pack. We had to stop searching briefly when we were attacked by rogues. Snid ughtered most of them. Proving our strength, but we also lost quite a few members. Two being the parents of our now adopted 5-year-old, twins, clover and sage.


    It''s crazy to think in 4 months I''ve gone from a normal teen Wolf, to a Luna and mother. I am happy though, aside from the hole in my heart, only Lexi can fill. Small arms wrap around my leg and I smile. cing my cup of tea on the table and looking down. Clover looks up at me with a huge smile. She hasn''t really spoken since the incident but she''s attached herself to me and Jara.


    Calling him ARA which he pretends bothers him to make herugh. Her bright green eyes search my face as she continues to smile. " What can I help you with? Princess." A kneel in front of her as she ces a chubby hand on each side of my cheeks. " Momma." She says. I blink and blink again. "Oh Clover did you dream about your mom." She shakes her head no. And then stares into my eyes. "No, you''re my mama."


    Tear surface in my eyes and I hold her to my chest. " I''d love that! Clover." I run my hand down her wavy golden locks. My mate scent hits my nose before he appears in the doorway. " What''s going on here." He said with a smile. Clover turns in my arms and looks towards him. "Daddy." She screams and runs into his arms. Sinead looks at me. "Is That who I am." Cover nods her head. "Yes and that''s Mommy. The white light told me so." She points at me then looks back at Snid.


    "The White light?" Before clover can, answer sage runs down the stairs crying. "Mommy it hurts." He screams as he runs into the kitchen. I look at Sinead in awe and then kneel before our crying son. "What happened bud." I soothe him, looking down at his knee. "I tried to do a flip like the warriors and fell off my bed." I smile and Sinead chuckles. "Why were you flipping on your bed silly." I ask sage whose cheeks turn red. His green eyes meet mine before he looks down. "I was trying to be strong like Daddy."


    He whispers. Like his sister. He taken on new titles for us. Just yesterday we were sneezed and Anna. "Well buddy warriors train with both feet on the ground. Maybe you can actually practice with them the right way." At that he smiles and wraps his arms around my neck. He turns to Sinead who nods his head and smiles.


    Clover wiggles her way out of sinead''s hold and runs to her brother. As they went to run from the kitchen I call to them. "Hey you two one question. Why''d you start calling us Mom and Dad." Both children smile. "Thedy in white said our first mommy and daddy sent you to be our new mommy and daddy. And we should be proud andnbot scared because you are special that''s why they chose you."


    With that they ran up the stairs and disappear. Tears run down my face as i look at Sinead. "Thedy in white? You don''t think?" As I trail off he nods. Our children seen the Goddess herself and she gave us a blessing.

 LEXI: What now

    "Lilly it hurts so bad. I can''t do this." Sweat covers my body. The new mokn hase and passed. I turned 13 and with my new year came new life. What happened with Harris became more real as my stomach grew. Pups. Two of them lilly says grew inside of us for two seasons.


    Now they want out. The pain is striking every nerve in my body. I cry out as my private area burns and Lilly tries to keep me calm. But i can''t breathe. I clutch nket thatys under me. Another wave hits me and the world goes ck.


    Did I die? No I can feel pain. I start to wake up to the sound of tiny whimpers and suckling. I look down to see two small ck pups feeding between.... ck fur. My ck fur oh goddess I shifted. "Lilly are you there? How did this happen?" I''m in awe and Lilly purs.


    "I told you I''d protect us. You passed out. I could feel you and the pups dying. I couldn''t let that happen." I smile to myself. Lilly is the best wolf the goddess could give me. "I''m the lucky one, Lexi." Lilly beams. I look back at my now sleeping pups. They are beautiful. I want to hold them and before i realize whats happening my bones begin to realign.


    I sit on the ground naked and sticky as I lift my pups in my arms. Theh snuggle into me and I smile. A boy and a girl. "Ss and Elizabet" I coo. I gentlyy them back down and go to wash up and put clothes on. "How will they shift back." I ask Lilly.


    She hums in thought before she speaks. " I don''t know. I''ve never seen pups born in their furs before." I sigh. Hopefully they shift back on their own. If not I''ll have to breech our hide out and go in search of Aunt La.


    I return to our pups and curl my body around them. Nobody will harm them. " I''ll kill whoever tries." Lilly growls. I nod in agreement. I wonder if our mate will reject us if we ever find them. Maybe they''ll understand and want us anyways. I smiel at the possibility and let sleep take me.

    The sound of the barn door creaking open wakes me uo. The pios whimper as I slid from aroudn them. I watch as they blindly find eahc other and curl in. I smile to myself before a loud bang brings me back to the intruder. "Do you smell anything? It is them?" I ask Lilly.


    She begins to sniff the air and the salty smell of humans and something else assault our nose. At least six of them. "We should tell them to leave." I slowly peek over the loft and see six teens with beer bottles in hand. "Do you really think they''ll listen to a 13 year old girl."     She''s right. Going down there in human form will just put the pups at risk. "Ok so we scare them then. Maybe so bad they nevere back." I smile mischievously. Lilly yips in excitement. She loves showing off her Alpha strength and now we get to shift.


    We slowly creep down thedder and shift in a dark stall. Lilly begins to growl menacingly from the shadows. "What the fuck is that." A tall boy with sandy blonde hair asks nervously. The group looks around scared. "Cut it out Trent, thats not funny." A pretty brte says but moves closer to him.


    The boys stand and ce each girl behind them. Lilly growls again from the shadows and steps out. "Bro, is that a wolf!" A jock looking boy gasps. "Or a fucking bear, its huge." A ditsy blonde echos. Lilly snaps her jaws and lunges forward. Causing the group to scurry out the door.


    "A bear! Can you believe that!" Lilly huffs in disgust. I giggle at her annoyance. I giggle as I shift back and start picking up the bottles. " I mean we are muchrger then a normal wolf. Maybe shes never seen a bear." Iugh and snort. Lilly huffs and slumps down in the back of our mind.


    Hopefully that was enough to keep them away. Yet now I fear they''d bring more next time.

 LEXI: Uh Oh

    "Ss put that down young man. Drop it!" Ss'' wolf slowly drops the barn mouse and it scurries away. It has been four years since I ran from my pack. I missed them but the fear of being caught or the pups being hurt kept me here...where it''s safe. My Aunt La told me a spell to help the twins shift back, not long after the we''re born. I had panicked.


    One week, then two. They were still these little ck fuzz balls. So I went out one night at dark and called my aunt through a locator spell she''d taught me. She popped up the next day happy I was ok and in awe of the pups.


    The spell worked but now they can shift at will. Which this tired momma wishes they wouldn''t so often. "Please shift and go wash up. I''ll start on lunch. Liza that means you too." Chocte eyes peak at me from a stale and she giggles. "Ok momma." With that they both run to the sink.


    I go over to the brick stove I''ve built and lit the dry logs inside. It was small but it kept us warm and fed. I look at our food supply and see it running low. I''ll have to make a trip into town for a few things. A few years ago Aunt gave me a card set up directly to my inheritance. I didn''t understand how but she told me not to worry and need it as I seen fit.


    She had begged me to go home at first and then to buy an actual home for the twins and I. But i knew that would lead them straight to us. She told me Father was dead but no one spoke on Harris. That was enough to keep me right here.


    I fed the twins andid them down for a nap. They know not toe out from the loft unless I use our secret whistle code. And to bar the door until I return. No one hase out here since those teens. I can''t imagine what stories they told.


    Once in town. I made my rounds to the grocery store and a thift store for some clothes. The twins were growing out of everything. As I left the store I caught a smell. One I''d know anywhere. Ana! I know she''d tell my brother and he''d try to bring me back. I can''t do that until it''s safe. Until harris is gone too.


    I run through the woods toward the barn. When I arrive I knock three times and whistle our tune. Ss opens the door slowly looking around before he smiles at me. He''s such a little Alpha. I walk in and rece the door block. Releasing a breathe I didn''t realize I was holding.


    "Ok go wash up while I put this away. How does srone pizza sound for dinner?" The twins p and jump up and down before they run off to wash. "That was close Lilly." When she doesnt reply I just shrug and start putting the bags of stuff away.


    I look at the twins as they ssh in the sink. Laughing and getting each other wet. They remind me so much of Jara and I. I truly do miss my family, my pack. I tell the twins stories of their warrior uncles, amazing aunt Ana and the brave beauty d.

    I ride back to the pack in hysterics. I have to tell Sinead. I would know that scent anywhere. I mean all the time I woke up tangled in her hair. Plus she''s my best friend, my sister.     "Why don''t you go wash up and you can help me cook dinner." They racw uo the stairs and out of sight. I love how even at 9 they still get excited to see me. I put the bags down on the ind and start to sniff out my mate. His scent leads me to our bedroom but when I open the door its empty.

    "So do you need the bathroom or did youe for the peep show you little minx." He gives me a boyish smirk and my body turns to jelly. I have to clench my thighs and shake the haze from me head to shut kalra''s swooning out.


    "Uh...well yes but...my love...I." My mind gets milky as Sinead strolls towards me. His eyes flickering between his and Zeus. He ces his hands on either side of my body and I can feel my heart racing through my chest. "I..hmmm I have to tell you."


    My breathing bing rigid as he sniffs my neck. Nipping at my mark. "Its about Lexi." I manage to get out. At his sister''s name he stops and pulls back. His kow chocte eyes meet mine. " What about Alexi." Hope shines in my mates orbs.


    I swallow andpose myself. " Well the twins wanted strawberries. So I went to the store but they were out and you know they are already so picky and I just couldn''t take the nagging. So I looked up a grocery store out a little further. It''s only about and hour maybe and hour 30 from here. So I started driving and." Sinead grabs my shoulders and massages them to m me down. I toae abother deeo breath. "Better." He asks and I nod.


    He tilts his head for me to continue. I close my eyes and take a deep breath before I open them again. I look into Sinead''s and steel myself. "I scented Lexi in that town. Its just outside of our territory in no mansnd."

 ANA: I Promise

    We all meet in Sinead''s office. We have to make a sound n to get Lexi back. We don''t know who has her or how she will react. I sit on Sinead''sp and mindlessly draw circles on his hand. d and Jara are sitting across the desk. The silence right now is deafening.


    "Soooo..." jara says drawing the "O" out. Sinead adjusts me on hisp before clearing his throat. "I have news but I don''t want you to get too excited." He looks at d softly but then deadpans his brother. They sit forward in their chairs. d holds a ready to fight and serious fave but both of their eyes hold hope.


    "Ohe on man, out with it! We''re aging here!" Jara jests. Sinead looks at me and I nod. "It''s about Lexi. She was scented in a town over. It was fresh and we think she''s being held there." Sinead says in a single breath. Jara stands up abruptly and oddly so does d. I mean I guess because Lexi is her best friends sister.


    "Ok so lets go. Why are we still sitting here." Jara says in a wobbly voice. Simead stands and ces me on his chair. "Jay." He says softly but Jara just starts pacing. Lexi is the only mother he''s ever had. Sinead walks around the desk and pulls his brother into his arms.


    Jara''s body rocks with sobs. And it doesn''t go unnoticed to me that d is too crying but aggressively wiping the tears away. Clenching and unclenching her hands. Jara curls into his brother the bes the can. He''s an inch or two shorter then sinead at almost 12. To most he''s already so intimidating but in reality he''s just a child eho needs love.


    "We have to get her nead. We have to." He cries. Sinead rubs his back and quickly pinches tears from his own eyes. At this point we are all crying. Sinead steps back and wipes Jara''s face and then his own. Sinead stands tall and Jara mimicks his move.

 Reunion

    ANA POV:


    We have been in the neighboring woods for hours. Our best trackers head by d. Lead a group of warriors, myself and the boys through the thick area. Looking around there is literally nothing but trees and massivend.


    It took us two days to form a sad semnce of a n and attmept to contact Aunt La... who is once again M.I.A. Shes been training young witches within her coven for some time now. So we''re not surprised she didn''t answer.


    As tiring as this is, our wolves are driving us with urgency. We are here going in blind. Wee to a clearing and one of the trackers stops before linking the group. "Over here Alpha." I follow Sinead, with Jara and d close behind me. As we shift the warrior hands Sinead a doll.


    Lexi''s scent pouring from it. "The scent is fresh, she has to be around here somewhere." Sinead says while looking around the vast area. I nod as he gives orders to keep moving. A renewed pep in our step. Our wolves take off.


    Almost 20 minutester we stumble across a barn. I can smell Lexi. Sinead tells the warriors to surround the building. "Nobody move until I give the order. Attack to detain unless you must kill." He links the group. Just as we are about to check out the perimeter. The door burst open.


    LEXI POV:


    "Good night little moon." I kiss my daughter''s head. "Good night momma." She yawns and rolls over. I smile and reach my body over her. "Good night little star." I kiss my son. "Good night mommy." He sighs and snuggles into his nket.


    The cots I bought at the store with the nkets are a perfect upgrade from the hay. I can''t wait to get them real beds, toys...a home. I head down from the loft and to the kitchen area to make myself tea. When Lilly perks up.


    "What is it Lil?" I start to sniff and look around. Lilly''s hunches go up. "Our pack." She whines. "What! Lil they can''t get the pups! " At that Lilly sobers and growls. I nod and strip my clothes before shifting. It was now them or us!


    ANA POV:


    A veryrge ck she wolf. One of thergest I''ve ever seen, with golden eyes like Sinead''s. Steps out of the barn and bares her teeth. Our warriors begin to growl, some bow at her power. I look into the wolf''s eyes and tears spring to my own. "STOP! Everyone back off! You''re scaring her!" I scream at the warriors and d who was slowly walking towards the wolf.


    They all bare their necks and d whines causing the wolf to cock her head curiously. I slowly turn back to the wolf with my hands raised. "We''re not going to hurt her Lilly." I say softly bringing her attention back to me.


    The wolf again cocks her head before looking at Sinead, then to Jara. She begins to whine in Jara''s direction. He cautiouslyes to stand beside me. Smiling like an idiot as tears run down his face. "Hey big sis." He sobs out.


    At that Lillyys down on her belly and starts to crawl towards Jara''s feet. Before Jara can crouch down and touch her. She turns and gives a warnig growl towards the barn behind her. Two little ck puffs peak out from behind the door.


    She turns to me with fear in her eyes. I gasp. They are hers. I look from her to the pups and back to her. Smiling I squat down and slowly run my hand down her back. "I''m an aunt.... twice." Iugh with tears in my eyes. Lexi yips and licks my face. "Gross dude!" She gives me a lopsided wolfy grin. I hear a gasp behind me and turn to see d, eyes glowing staring at the pups.


    She whines and steps forward but stops. Ohhhh i get it now. Duh Ana. Lexi turns to her pups, whose eyes ze over for a moment. They run into the barn and return shifted back. A boy and a girl each carrying an article of clothing. Lexi''s bones realign and she stands up.


    Her auburn locs now flow to her bottom. A grown version of my best friend, is standing in front of me and I just want to reach out and grab her. She quickly gets dressed, cheeks zing red as she looks around before her eyes meet mine again. We both giggle before embracing each other. Sobs rack through us.


    "I''ve missed you so much." I cry. "I''ve missed you more A. Sorry for running away the other day." She says looking down and finding the dirt interesting. A throat clears and she looks up at her brothers. She opens her arms and they each take a turn squeezing her. d hugs her unsure before Lexi hugs her back and she spins her around. Causing Lexi tough.     "Momma." A tiny voice brings us out of the moment. Two small versions of Lexi stand nervously in the barn entrance. Sniffing the air curiously. The little girl fiddles with the hem of her night gown. While the boy stands tall, chest puffed out staring at the warriors. His eyes finally finding Sinead and his resolve wavers. "The warrior King." He squeals.


    Sinead cocks an eyebrow and Lexiughs. "I may have embellished on everyone just a tad. I''ll tell youter." Then starts to walk towards the kids. "Im sure you all have a lot of questions."

 LEX: Going Home

    "I''m going to kill them!" Jara growls. Where have I heard that before. Sinead and d growl in agreement and Ana rolls her eyes. "Well its toote so." Ana retorts. What does she mean...its toote? I push it aside and smile at my family. Even though they are speaking of murder, I have missed them.


    My eyes meet d''s and she visibly calms down at my smile. Butterflies float around my stomach. What is this feeling. When we hugged a while ago. I felt like my body was on a warm beach. Not to mention her scent. Jasmine and Vani. I almost melted. Even now the way she''s looking at me. I feel myself blush and look away.


    "Well they''re both dead, so that''s one step fulfilled." Ana says with a huff, shaking her head at the puffed out Alpha''s. Ss is standing beside his uncles trying to mimick their stance. Wait I look at Ana. My shock must be all over my face. "I mean we can beg the Goddess to resurrect them. So we can go again!" She huffs and Iugh. Myugh dies and I look at the ground. "How long." The room falls silent. "Since the night you went to his home. Lexi didn''t you kill him?" Sinead asks, eyebrows pulled together.


    My head shoots up. My confusion matching my brother''s. I try to think. Did I kill him? I mean how? He was a Beta and I couldn''t even shift yet. "No, I did it." Lilly answer in our mind. "What do you mean you did it. We''ve been hiding for almost five years from a ghost!" Lilly whines. "You knew didn''t you. That we were with pup. When." Lilly sighs and whispers. "Our first harvest. I wanted to tell you but I didn''t know our father was dead also. He had been blocking the link for so long I didn''t feel it sever."


    I absentmindedly nod my head. Although I am upset. I can''t me Lilly for protecting us and our pups. She grew with me and kept us safe. A throat clears and I look at d but answer my brother. "Yes, I killed him. Well Lilly did." I lift my chin and d smiles proudly. That alone makes me proud of Lilly too, even if I don''t yet know why.


    My brothers nod their heads and Anaughs. "Good riddance. Good job Lil." Everyoneughs. "How though? You couldn''t shift. And it was bad." Sinead shivers. My eyes go wide. "Lilly what did we do to him!" She gives a wolfish grin. "After you passed out he finished and didn''t even realize it was me and not you.


    He told me to clena it up. So I bit it off." I was shocked butugh. Yup I love her. Everyone looks at meughing manically and look taken back. I take an deep breath to m myself. "Sorry." I wipe the tears from my eyes. "Lilly says she bit it off and force shifted. I passed out. I must''ve been really hurt. He didn''t even notice it was her and not me." I trail off in augh. d and Ana join me while my brothers grab their junk in mock pain.


    Soon everyone was calm and silence engulfed us. "What now?" I ask first. Sinead and Ana smile at each other. Jara is the one to answer. "Now we go home."

    I close the zipper on thest duffle bag and throw it over my shoulder. As I make my way to the ground floor, a warriores and takes my bag. "Thank You." I smile politely. He blushes and nods before hurrying away. I walk out of the barn and stop at the SUV''s my brother hade here to get us.


    "It''s going to be ok Lexi. I promise." Ana rubs my arm. I force a weak smile and turn to look onest time at the barn. I smile onest time at the memories and climb into the middle seat. This is the new start the twins need.


    As the car pulls off. I look at Sinead in the rearview mirror. He winks at me and I smile knowing we we''re ok. d is driving the SUV behind us carrying what little belongs we had. As the warriors are run back to the pack. The drive takes about 3 hours because we stop to eat and I mumble to Lilly. "We really ran far huh." Sheughs because in reality we went no where.


    I guess to a 12 year old running that far seemed like forever. I don''t remember falling alseep but Ana tapping my leg from the front seat wakes me up. "We''re home." Lilly yips. I take a deep breath. I look over at the twins, whose eyes are wide with excitement.


    As we pull up to the pack house. That suffocating energy doesn''t take over me anymore. I take another breath and open the door. The twins hop out and run past me. "Hey you two slow down." My plea falls on deaf ears. "Rx sis, they are home." Jara gives me his boyish smile. My baby brother is no longer a baby.


    I bet he has all the little she wolves pawing at him. Not even fully grown and he is stacked and already sports a light shadow of a beard. I know I was tall at his age but geesh. I go the grab my bag and Ana smacks my hand. "Nope, the boys can do that. Lets go for a run." I smile at her and shake me head. We''ve never had a shift together and Lilly is bouncing in my head ready to y with ra.


    We ran for a while ande to the sparring grounds. Warriors train in human and wolf form. That amazing scent hit my nose. Jasmine and vani. "Mate! mate! That''s why we freak out Lex." I hold my breath. No, no shes going to reject us. Against Lilly''s protest I take off running.


    Ana was close behind me. I make it the treeline by the pack house and shift back. Quickly putting my clothes back on. Ana catches up and shifts back too. "Hey, what happened back there?" Confusion written all over her face. Do I tell her? We are best friends still...but its been so long. I''ve felt alone for so long. How do I trust again.


    I look away from Ana and turn towards the house. "It was nothing. I just got over whelmed." I lie. Her face says doesn''t buy it but she doesn''t push. "Ok well maybe we can go out again tomorrow." I give her a weak smile and nod.


    We walk through the pack house and I follow the scent of the twins to the pool out back. They are being tossed by Jara. Along with two other pups who seem a little older. "That''s sage and clover....our pups." I swing around and look at Ana. "What? They are huge Ana! Were you pregnant before I left?" I exim. Anaughs and wipes a tear from her eye. "They are 9...and adopted." She smiles. I make an "O" with my mouth and smile back. I have a niece and nephew.


    Ana exins the attack and how they''ve been raising the twins for four years. We walk onto the patio and I wave at the kids. Who wave back before the shark Jars tosses them again. "I think I need a shower. I''m so sweaty." I say to Ana. "Right let me take you to your room."


    We get up the familiar stairs and stop at a familiar door. My palms are sweaty as I reach for the knob. I expect to see all of my old stuff. All of the painful memories. Instead the walls are a beautiful sand color instead of the pale pink. Arge mahogany four poster Queen size bed sits in the center. The bedding is a rich cream.     The closet of course still sits next to the bathroom. All of my old posters were reced with framed flower art. A frame on the bedside table catches my attention. I walk over and stare at the picture. It is of Sinead when he was 6. Holding a newly born me. Our mother is hugging us both with a huge smile on her face.

I smile and nod before she squeezes my shoulder and leaves my room

 Dinner

    This is our first pack dinner in alomst 6 years. Most of these people thought I was either dead or had gone rogue. I know I should be getting ready but both Lilly and I are nervous. Yes this is our home and the evil men are dead. But what if the others took us for weak? That they want to take what Harris already has. Lilly spits at the mention of his name.


    I curl up into a tighter ball. A knock sounds on my door and panic sets in. I squeeze my eyes shut when the knockes again. sh backs of Alpha drunk and handsy run through my head. My door opens and heavy footstepse towards the bed. I just act. I flip from the bed and spring at the intruder. My ws out as I attempt to rip their throat.


    Two big hands stop me by holding my wrists and I growl. "Lex! Its me damn it! Lex!" The intruder screams. I recognize the voice and Lilly retreats to the back of our mind. I blink twice and focus on my baby brother.

    "I''m so sorry. I could''ve really hurt you." I look anywhere but at Jara. He pulls me into a hug. "It''s ok Lex. I can''t imagine being back here is easy." He leans away and smiles. The nasty scratch now just an angry red mark. "Man, I would''ve given anything to have seen Lilly kick that scums ass." He looks off excitedly. I know he''s trying to make light of it but eeww.


    I scrunch my nose in disgust and we bothugh. "If it counts. I''m happy you''re home ma." He squeezes me, using his nickname for me. He always tried to call me mama and I''d correct him. So I became ma. It just stuck.


    "Me too jarabeans." At the nickname he grimaces. "We have to talk about the name. You''re going to ruin my rep." He smiles and stands up. "Don''t worry about the pack. Sinead got rid of all of Druids follwers. Everyone left is loyal to him. Loyal to mom. To us." I nod but look down.


    "It''s going to be ok. I swear to you. I just came to tell you dinner is in an hour. And you still smell like outside." He pretends to gag and I punch his shoulder. Weugh and he helps me off yhe floor.


    With that he quickly kisses my cheek and leaves me to get ready.

    After a much needed, very long shower. I step out and for the first time in five years. I look at my reflection in an actual mirror. My long auburn hair has shine to it now.     My body is curvy in all the right ces. Over all I''d say I am beautiful. I quickly brush my hair while it''s still wet. Letting my curls form and bounce. I know once it dries the appearance will shrink. I go to my closet and find something to wear. When I open the door, I justugh. Ana must''ve sent someone to shop.


    Everything from jeans to formal dresses decorate hangers. I grab a pretty, off the shoulder white haulter top, skinny light blue jeans and a pair of white vans. I throw my partially dry hair into a messy bun. Then I leave my room and head toward the dinning hall.


    As I open the door, all chatter stops. Every eye is now on me. Suddenly apuse erupts around the room. Some people howl or whistle. I can feel my cheeks burning. I wave awkwardly and make me way toward the Alphas table. My family smiling or chuckling at my embarrassment.


    I take my seat between Ana and Ss before looking around. "Why is everyone staring." I whisper to Ana. Although I know with their enhanced hearing they heard me. Everyone at the tableughs.     I wake up in my bed with a rag on my forehead. The room is dark and I''m now in loose pajamas. Who changed me. "She did." Lilly swoons. As she speaks, movement in the bathroom catches my attention. As the door opens my mate steps out.


    "You''re awake. How are you feeling?" She asks nervously as shees and sits beside me. "Fine, I think." I take the rag and ce it on the bed side table. " What happened." d smiles revealing her dimples I''ve always been jealous of. "You fainted. I''m sure its because you scented me. I pictured a lot of reactions meeting my mate. She takes my hand and starts making small circles with her thumb. "Why were you scared? You know me. I''d never hurt you." She smiles and brushes a curl from my face.


    "I was afraid you''d reject me. Im broken and used. I wanted to wait but they took that from me. Its ok. You need someone strong." I look down. d lifts my chin and makes me look at her. "Lexi I would never do that. You''re my perfect match. Besides I''m 23. I''ve know you were my mate since my 16th birthday. Given I thought your brother would no sooner kill me. I was willing to wait and let you decide."


    She''s known for 7 years. Her birthday was right before the Harris thing. She knew even after and still wanted me. I just stare at her with tears in my eyes. "The day you had the pups. M felt it. Those are her pups too you know. She''s already imprinted on them from birth. It''s been killing her not having her mate or pups. It''s was killing us both." She caresses my cheek, wiping away a tear with her thumb.

 ANA:Dreams

    Last night after Lexi cked out. I brought all of the pups to our suite for a sleep over. I still don''t understand what happened but I have a good idea. d had growled at Sinead for trying to move Lexi from her arms.

    "I bet you did " Clover grumbles and aggressively bits at her toast. Sage and Ss huff in annoyance. "Is everything ok guys." I look at each of them. No one answers at first. Then Ss sighs. "Elizabet cried all night. We told her over and over mommy was ok. But she insisted she died!" He rolls his eyes and crosses his arms over his chest.


    "Mom pleeeeasse tell her Aunt Alexi is fine." Clover moans. I walk around the table and squat down next to a whimpering Liza. "I promise, your mommy is perfectly ok. She should be downstairs by time we get there." I give her a hug and she nods. I smile at her and push a curl behind her ear.


    I stand up and p my hands. "Now, all of you eat up and go change. Today we wee Ss, Elizabet and Aunt Alexi back to the pack."


    They all perk up and start chatting about how the day will go.

    "Uh guys this is.." before she can finish both pups smile and look at each other. d gets up from the couch and kneels next to them. "Hello Ss, Elizabet. It''s nice to finally meet you." She smiles at them.


    The twins look at each other and Liza reaches out holding her tiny had against d''s cheek. "You''re her." She whispers and starts to bounce up and down. "Look sysy its her!" She cheers.


    Ss then reaches his hands towards d. But unlike his sister he wraps his arms around her neck and hugs her. "It is her. She even smells just like it." He sighs into d''s shoulder.


    Liza thentches herself onto d''s other side and takes a deel breath. d sits still in shock for a moment. Before she begins hugging the twins back.


    A tear rolls down her cheek. "Oh this is way better then I expected." She sighs. The twins pull back and Ss wipes d''s tears


    "Don''t cry mama. We know who you are. Lilly shows us images." He says with a smile. "We dream about you too. M would call to us and warn us to be careful when we y and stuff." Elizabet smiles and shrugs.

    She wades in ce before I spin and kick her square in the chest. Effectively breaking a few more ribs. As she falls to the ground I straddle her and my fists connect with her face. Over and over until she almost unrecognizable. I''m so lost. I dont hear d calling me until her hand touches my cheek.

    "I''ll kill them all but seriously I want it to be special." I push her onto her back andy on her chest. She begins to run her fingers through my hair. "Special I can definitely do. Anything for you princess." She kisses my head. I hum in response before falling asleep.

 ANA: Rogues

    I pinch the crust around the pie and slid it into the oven. "Then he said I may be his sister but he won''t stand for it. Do you believe that!" Lexi throws her hands in the air. She''s been ranting about Sinead and Katie for an hour now.


    I understand her frustration. Katie is the packs whore. She started with warriors before trying her hand with d. I''m not even sure she likes women.


    "So have you spoken to him since." I ask her and smack her hand as she reaches for a cookie while one hangs from her mouth. "First off...o. Second no! That doofus can apologize to me. Hell I did what any mate would do." She crosses her arms and huffs.


    I smile and shake my head. She keeps pouting like a baby, while reaching for another cookie. "Lex I love you but by the Goddess if you eat one more cookie. I''ll... I''ll. Hmmm I''ll let ra bite off your fingers." I point the cake spoon at her. She smirks and quickly shoves another cookie in her mouth.

    "How many? Is anyone hurt?" My mates voice booms. There''s silence before another warrior speaks. "There are about 20 rogues and.....a witch." Thest part sounded like he was unsure.


    Why were rogues working together, let alone with a with? My mate orders all elderly, women who are untrained and children to the bunker. All able bodies were to secure the pack.


    Lexi runs down the stairs with all four kids. "Get to the bunker. I''m going to help your brother." I look at Lexi and her eyes turn honey. Lilly isn''t leaving. Lexi turns to an omega and tells her to take the kids to the bunker. The omega nods and they take off running down the hall.


    We shift as we jump from the pack house porch. Heading straight for the north border. As we arrive the smell of blood and rot assult my nose. I run to Sinead and take up his nk. "Ana what the hell are you doing here!" Before I can answer, I see a rogue going for his exposed side.


    I jump over Sinead and take the rogue down by his neck. He struggles in my jaw but I bite down harder until I hear a snap. I drop his body to the ground and step back. I look around and see their numbers dwindling.


    My eyes find the witch and she sneers. Before waving her hand and disappearing. Jara orders two guards to drag the rogues they''ve caught to the cells. "Is everyone ok." My mate asks. He looks at me and I nod.


    The injured are taken to the pack hospital. While everyone else heads to their homes or the pack house.


    d,Lex, Jara, Sinead and I head to Sinead''s office to debrief. I slid onto hisp as he sits down. He takes deep breaths in my neck to calm down. "Does anyone have an idea to what the ...fuck that was!" d asks as she paces. Lexi stands and wraps her arms around her waist to calm her down.


    We all look lost. The entire situation isn''t normal. "She seems mad." Everyone looks at me. My mate leans to the side and looks at me curiously. "I made eye contact. She seemed pissed we stopped them." I look down at my hands.


    "Well she''s obviously the one in charge. The question is why?" Lexi states. After an hour of nothing. Sinead gives d the task of reaching out to our allied coven. We need to know what they think. After agreeing we''d go from there. We all head to bed. A witch anda group of rogues. Against the strongest pack in this side of the country.

 LEXI: Something Special

    I wake up the next morning alone. d''s side of the ned had long ago gone cold. I look at my phone and see it''s only 6:30 in the morning. "Hey love! Where''d you go." I link my mate through our bond but hit her mental block. Hmmm ok. "I guess I''ll just search for you.


    I quickly shower and change. Choosing a ck spaghetti strapping ankle length sun dress. With a nice sandal to match. Skipping makeup and throwing my hair up in a messy bun.


    I leave our room and head for the kitchen. Stopping at the twins bedroom door. Hearing their soft breathing before continuing down that hall. They''ve really adjusted to pack life. Even moving in with d.


    I reach the kitchen and drag myself to the coffee machine. Usually I''d avoid caffeine this early but mama is tired.


    I drinkna few sips of the coffee and dump it. Before grabbing an orange. I inform an omega named marigold and ask her to listen out for the pups. She a sweet older woman who never had children but loves them. The teins adore her.


    The children are in a deep asleep and I should be back before they wake up. With that thought I leave the house .


    We live close to the pack hosue so my trek to look for my mate only takes about five minutes. When I get there I go straight to my brother''s office. Empty. "Where are you?" I try the pack link this time. Again silence.


    My anxiety is starting to pair with fear. What if there was a breach again? What if she''s hurt? No I''d feel that right...right? Or the witch took her and shes blocking our link! Lilly whines and my chest clenches. "I can''t reach M either."


    I run from the pack house and start sniffing the air. Nothing and everything! But no d, Sinead or Ana! "Hey! Do you know where our mates are?" I link Ana and she replies right away. "Heyyyy girl, yeah they''re in the cells. Still trying to get information from those rogues. Are you good?" I release the breath I''ve been holding. "Shit I forgot.     "Oh Lex don''t do that! Come to our suite. I''ll get us some breakfast started. With a half coffee, half cocoabo." Ana says. Thest part makes me giggle. She''s lucky we''re wolves or she''d definitely give a human doctor a run for their money.


    "I''m on my way. Make sure I get extra marshmallows." Iugh and head back inside.


    After stuffing our faces and drinking cup after cup of Ana''s sugary mix. I feel way better. "Not gonna lie. I''m not sure this drink mixes with breakfast food." Ana says through burps. We giggle and I fan the fake stench away. "So manly."


    Sheughs and takes a mock bow. Then throws a couch pillow at me. "For the record. I don''t think the drink mixes with anything!" I say and burp louder the she had.


    We were in a fit of giggles when Sinead and fe through the door. Their somber expressions sober us quickly. "Hey, what happened?" Ana asks as we walk to them. They each grab us and inhale our scents but say nothing.


    d finally breaks the silence. "I think you both should sit down."

    I''ve spent hours preparing this surprise party for Lexi. It was the first one she''s had at home in five years. I want it to be big.

    A throat clears behind me and I turn to see Lexi standing with Jara. She looks amazing in her beige sequence spaghetti strap V-neck dress. I move a carpet and know the Goddess is watching out for us. I hide the pups in a trap door in the floor. And make my way back to go hide in the room they were kept in. "Tonight they all die" Lilly growls in determination.

    I turn the corner and smell another wolf. Her eyes lock onto me and although she isn''t small. I can definitely take her. My eyesnd on the unconscious body of my daughter set against a wall behind this rogue. Oh bitch lets y. I draw my eyes back to the wolf and release my Alpha aura.


    If this is Telth she was no longer Queen. Nor does she still carry the Alpha blood. "Stand Down" I yell. Her eyes flicker between ck and green. Her wolf wanting to submit but Telth is fighting it. She starts to thrash about and I take that moment as my chance. I quickly run past her and scoop Liza into my arms.


    I turn and begin running the way I''de. Praying the Goddess protects me as I take my baby girl to safety. Not long after turning thest corner. A vicious growl sounds behind me. I need somewhere safe to set down my baby. I''ll have to fight Telth. If this is a her or me situation, then I have to make sure its me. I see the room the pups are hiding ining up and slip in through the door.


    I ce Elizabet on a chair in the corner and stand in front of her. "Don''te out no matter what you hear." I link the pups. As I turn towards the door, Telth walks in. Naked. She has sandy blonde hair that looks unkempt and soulless green eyes. She is slender but a fair height for a she wolf.


    I square off my shoulders. "Give me the pup." She growls out. I growl in return and hunch over. Shifting quickly, I run at her. Tackling her to the ground. "Ahhhh. You''re ruining everything." She screams. And tries to push me off but she''s weak. I snap my jaws at her face and sh my ws across her chest.


    She shrieks in rage and kicks me in my gut. I roll off her but gain my legging and shake out my fur. Teeth bared, I position myself again in front of Liza. Telth shifts and lunges like shes going for me but aims at Elizabet. I snap my teeth around her leg and drag her back.


    As she rolls onto her back preparing an attack, I stomp my paws on her head. As she bes disoriented, I rush to stand in front of my pup. My chest is heaving and I stare at Telth. Waiting for her to get up. Come at me bitch!

 ANA: The Rescue

    We circle the underground nt the witches located the day before. We take our ces and prepare the attack. "It doesn''t seem like anyone is here." Jara links the group. "They''re here, I can feel Lexi through the bond more then before." d chimes in and Sinead nods. The warriors take up nk behind Jara and we start to move.


    The witches gave us an elixir to drink that cloaks our scents. So we are depending on the link for now. Sinead holds up three fingers and counts down before the warriors break down the door. Where is their security.


    As we walk in I can smell my pups. I go yo move but my mate stops me and shakes his head. I just want to onow they are ok. The warriors move in first and we follow close behind them. We search room after room and theye up with nothing. Then wee to a study. "The pups are here somewhere. I can smell them." I link everyone starting to panic because the room looks empty.


    "Hey guys. Its me uncle J, we''re here. Can you hear me?" Jara sends through the pack link. Anxiety shaking his voice. A small whinees from the floor are d bends down to pull back the rug. As she rolls it back atch doores into view.


    My heart starts racing and I run forward and snatch it open. Tears spill from my eyes when I see Clover with her arms around a semi conscious Sage and Ss. I look over them again. "Where is Liza." I ask Clover who points to a bulge sticking out from beside a book case. "Auntie saved her from the rogue." Clover croaks out. d runs to her duaghter and I grab the kids as the warriors pull them out.


    I squeeze them and kiss them each on the heads before Ss runs and copses into his momma''s arms with Elizabet. A group of warriors then took all four of them out of the building to the three witches. While we look for Lexi. "Alpha, someone is fighting down the hall." A warrior links the group.


    We leave the room and run toward themotion. A trail of blood, as if someone was dragged leads us closer to the noise. When we reach the area we see Lexi''s ck wolf fighting a smaller brown she wolf. d goes to step in but I shake my head. lexi has this. This she wolf hurt her pups and she deserves to end it.


    The brown wilf goes for Lexi''s throat but she dodges it and ws at the wolf''s stomach. Bledding profusely the brown wolf growls and weaklyunched itself at Lexi again. Lexi is tired but goes to strike and looks at d. Who nods and jumps in. Her hand catches the brown wolf by the fur on her chest. With her other hand she plunges her fist into the wolf''s chest and grips her heart.


    The wolf thrashes and d quickly snatches her hand back. Heart and all. The wolf falls to the ground. Dead. Lexi shifts back and waves on her go home." I say to the group.


    As we exit the building. A sh nearly blonds us and a sneering woman walks into it before it disappears. "That was my grandmother." Emil gaspes. "Miama." The other two hiss. It wasn''t over and Miama let that be known. But for now we can breathe and regroup. She won''t be back alone. N?velDrama.Org owns this text.

 Epilogue

    Its been two years since I killed Katie and Telth. Miama is still on the run. The twins are taking it in stride. At least Sage and Ss are. Liza and Clover refuse to speak to anyone but their parents and each other.


    d and I just adopted a little girl. Jer name is Arabe. A neighboring pack was.attacked and she was already one of the orphaned pups since birth. Nobody really knows who her parents were. The pack always helped rogues who left abusive packs willingly.


    The alpha and his leading members were all taken out. We haven''t traced yet buy whom. So we took in asany wolves as we could. Or those that wanted to. The other either wemt rogue or went to other packs.


    Jara and Emil mated and jist weed their first pup or witch. We aren''t really sure. One minute Hailee is a ball of fur and the next shes covering the pack house in vines when she cries. She is growing like a pup at 7 months her chubby little legs try to keep up with the other kids. She is a spitfire and fits right in with our rowdy crew.


    Sinead and Ana are expecting their pups soon too. Yup thats right pups, plural. Triplets this time. Clover hopes for two girls and a boy. Sage just can''t wait to be a big brother. Content from N?velDr(a)ma.Org.
