《I told the stars about you》 Chapter one "Happy birthday Priscilla!!" "Oh my goodness, thank you so much," cried Priscilla, the birthday girl who just turned 19. No, these girls weren''t her friends, they all hated her secretly. She knew they hated her, everyone knew that. It was all because of her fine-looking cousin Jack that they even glanced at her. She often received mean and snide remarks about how much they despised her. But come on, this girl has better things to do in life, these miniature cheap versions of not-so-mean girls ain''t about to get on her nerves tonight. Excusing herself to go to the loo, Priscilla made her way out of the rich, snobby, and obnoxious plastic girls. She did notice them whispering behind her back but chose to ignore them. She was determined not to let anyone interfere with her bliss this time. PRISCILLA POV As I flushed down the toilet and came out the stall, I saw the so-called super hot girls of my university when in reality they are real-life bitches who would have been in a better position if their brain cells developed faster than their breast cells, standing with their arms folded and what I presume were trying to stare at me through their fake eyelashes. "Uh hey?" I gave a fake grin. Chloe scoffed and came closer to me. "Why do you even exist, you bitch?" she asked. I struggled to not burst out laughing at that one. Like how long did it take you to come up with that one? "Dearest Chloe, your ass must be pretty jealous of all the shit that comes out of your mouth, right?", I smirked. "Now if you would excuse me, I got a lot of work other than doing childish tactics like you guys, mwah." I blew them an imaginary kiss before stepping out. "Phew, those girls surely are a piece of work." I thought to myself. Wait, I didn''t see Dimitra anywhere today... Where is she? She didn''t even wish me a happy birthday, which is very unlike her. Might Jack know where she is? This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it. Trying to squeeze my way out of all the drunk and wasted teenagers, I reached Jack only to find him making out with a random girl on the couch. Typical Jack, I thought while shrugging. "Jack, where''s Dimitra?" When he removed his lips from the chick, the duo glared at me. "Why are you so annoying Priscilla? Just mind your own damn business and leave me the fuck alone." he snapped at me. Ugh, what a douchebag. This isn''t gonna work... I guess I should just go to her house and see where she is. I made my way to the old benevolent grandma whom I adored with my whole heart, Dimitra. Ever since my parents died in a house fire, she was the one who brought me up and the only one who loved me. As far as I remember, she has always been with me. On top of that, she is the wisest person I have ever met. Not everyone can understand her words. She chooses her words carefully and they hit deep. Jack despises her, saying she is a lunatic. My cousin''s an imbecile, yes. What? I can''t sugarcoat my words, I ain''t no Willy Wonka. I reached her house and knocked on her front door, but she did not respond. "Dimitra! Are you in there? You have been nonexistent the whole day...Are you okay? Hello??" I was about to bang harder when I noticed that the door was open. Strange, she never keeps her door open. "Dimitra? Are you in here?" The whole house was eerily quiet and the lights were out. I felt goosebumps arising on my arms, suddenly feeling uneasy. Maybe she''s upstairs, I am just being paranoid. Shrugging my thoughts off, I took the stairs up to her room. Holy freaking crap. I watched with my eyes wide open, my head blank. The door of Dimitra''s room was glowing in a bright shade of golden. The blinding light almost made my eyes hurt. "My dear Priscilla, a very happy birthday to you. Now that you are an adult, it is time for you to complete the goal you left behind in your previous life. Come my child, enter the door and realize the purpose of your rebirth. Don''t worry my delicate flower, I am always protecting you." After hearing Dimitra''s voice from inside the room, I was curious as to what this ruckus is all about. "What do you mean? And what is this mystifying golden light gleaming about?" As I waited for her response, I was met with an eerily peaceful tranquility. "Dimitra? Answer me, come on. You cannot remain still after leaving me in such curiosity!" A push on my upper back suddenly sent me stumbling into the cryptic room. With my eyes shutting in reflex and my arms flailing, an uncontrolled yelp made its way out of my mouth. Oh god, I am going insane. Chapter Two Priscilla stood there, her eyes transfixed and her jaw hanging. A series of thoughts crossed her mind. Were her eyes betraying her? Was she in Game of Thrones? Was she dreaming? Pinching herself to check, she was sure she wasn''t dreaming. A whole new world which she never knew existed, was being scrutinized by this young girl''s eyes. Women in long skirts and old-fashioned corsets. Men in tunics and boots. The streets were filled with horses and carriages, everything hustling and bustling. She looked rather out of place in her black sequin wrap dress. As her face resembled a lost puppy, she asked a person what this place was about. But as soon as she took two steps, she collided with a horse and fell straight to her bottom. ''Are you okay, miss? I apologize for the collision, you startled Colorado with your sudden appearance.'' Priscilla looked up to find a young man smiling and stretching his hand for her to get up. His brown eyes sparkled in the sunlight, his brown wavy hair falling right above his eyes. While his toned body could be seen underneath his clothing, it was his dimpled smile that she swore she swooned at. She took up his hand and got up to dust herself, definitely noticing his muscles and the way they flexed while helping her stand. "It''s okay, I am sorry as well. Do you mind me asking who Colorado is?" The young man laughed heartily, his eyes twinkling with a humorous glint. ''Colorado is him and he is Colorado.'' He said while slapping the chestnut-colored horse on which he was sitting. "Oh, haha I see. Are you pulling a prank on me? Oh right, this must be a shooting set. Where''s the hidden camera though? I must say, you guys have cool outfits eh? And these horses my gosh. Even this whole place seems so real. It must have cost a hell of a lot of money to produce this.'''' Priscilla snorted. ''Uh, pardon me miss but I seem to not get what you might be hinting at. What is a camera? And this place is real. This is the land of the king Elijah, this is the kingdom of Tastia.'' She was taken aback when the young man seemed genuinely confused. ''Wait a minute, you have no idea what a camera is? And this place is a kingdom where a king rules?'' ''You are correct, miss.'' I''ve been teleported to an ancient kingdom, oh my god. ZAN POV Camera? What''s that? Is that a more advanced form of a cannon? But this lady doesn''t seem like she... what even are those clothes that she is wearing- The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. "Miss? Which kingdom do you belong to? I am sorry but your attire seems disparate and I have never seen anything like that in my entire life." The lady seemed perplexed by my question. Her nose scrunched up, her hair lightly fluttering in the breeze, her eyes imitating her confused expression. I have to admit, she looked simply breathtaking. ''"Okay cowboy, so I have a long story. And unfortunately, I am too tired to explain anything or even think about it. Let''s just say I am from the future. I don''t see how this makes any sense but never mind. Do you think you can give me a tour around this kingdom and get me familiar? I would appreciate it if you helped me out." Cute. "Sure, come on. Get onto Colorado, and trust me miss, you''ve got the most reliable guide in this kingdom to help you explore." I grinned. For the first time since we met, I saw her smile. I swear her smile was the most contagious of all. Her eyes shone with her upturned lips. Without knowing, I was smiling too. AUTHOR POV As Zan showed Priscilla around the kingdom, it was evident that everyone had their eyes on the seemingly strange girl with the strange clothes. Meanwhile, the girl was oblivious to all the attention she was receiving from the passing onlookers. Her eyes were captivated by the whole kingdom; the people, the shops, everything was so new and yet so fascinating for her. There were no gadgets, no electronic appliances, nothing modern. But the people were still living happily and comfortably. Never in her wildest dreams did she imagine that this would be the way her 19th birthday would turn out to be. This isn''t supposed to feel this homely to me. Why am I feeling like I am emotionally bonded with all these people, streets, and the whole kingdom? I can''t believe what Dimitra has got me into. "Now that I think about it, we never introduced ourselves properly haha." Zan spoke up, grinning softly. "Oh you are right. Okay, so I''ll start first. My name''s Priscilla, Priscilla Miller and I am 19 years old. I am new to this kingdom and need a place to stay since I can see the sky turning dark. I also need some clothes which are similar to the people living here and of course, you can hear the rumbling of my stomach. What about you Mr. Guide? " She ended with a knowing smile. "My name is Zan Docilus, and I live in the kingdom of Tastia. I am 19 years old as well. I own a small chicken shop which helps me earn my livelihood. We can go into the market and get you some casual attire. Then we can go to my shop. Since you are my new friend, I will treat you to a generous serving of chicken soup." He winked. After getting into the clothes worn by the other females of the kingdom, Priscilla felt that she was slowly understanding how this kingdom worked. There must have been a reason for Dimitra to get me into this situation.. but where is she? Feeling that her stomach was satisfied with the enormous servings of chicken soup Zan had prepared, she sighed deeply. Thinking back to the time she mysteriously teleported and changed her world, she was awestruck by the possibility of something this extraordinary. If I told anyone in my world about this, they would probably call me a freak and laugh at me, sheesh. She was suddenly startled by the loud trumpets, and by people stepping away from the center of the street. Zan pulled her arm and whispered, "Bow down like all the other people. The king is arriving." Oh damn. I almost forgot there was a whole kingdom here. She bowed down in courtesy as he instructed. She could see the horse''s hooves nearing her. Not being able to hide her curiosity any longer, she lifted herself only to find a pair of eyes that seemed bluer than the ocean, staring at her. Holy moly, why? Why is every dude in this kingdom so pretty? Chapter Three 20 years back She stood there, in the huge corridors, all alone, giving final instructions to the head guard and the head maid. She wanted this event to be flawless. After all, it was her pregnancy to be revealed to Elijah, she wanted this moment to be remembered. Feeling two large arms wrapped around her waist, she quickly dismissed the servants, which did seem strange to the man behind her frame, but he shrugged it off. Turning her around, he got extremely close to her face. His attempt at kissing her ended in vain as he heard a cough at the end of the corridor behind him. "Get a room, guys," Elijah''s right-hand man, as well as the head in charge of training the officials, and his best friend, Robert, told them. Priscilla blushed and freed herself from Elijah''s grip, exiting the hallway to excuse herself to the library. ........................................................................................................... She sat in the palace library, reading one of the King''s numerous books on European history when she overheard Robert speaking to a servant. He sounded rash and uptight as if something were wrong. "...Tell all the servants to be on call..." he was saying, "...and make sure the cook is ready to prepare lunch for us..." Lunch? For "us?" What could he be talking about? Priscilla wondered. She walked out of the library to see what all the ruckus was about. The hallway looked more like a marketplace: servants passed fervently back and forth as Robert dished out orders. "Get that rug cleaned. Tell the maid to do up the dining room..." Two soldiers passed by with maps. "What''s going on?" Priscilla asked. "Good afternoon, Your Majesty," Robert said. "Why all the commotion?" she persisted. Robert could not help but notice her abruptness. "The arrival of Sir Aaron, Your Majesty," he replied. "He will be here shortly." Sir Aaron was Tastia''s top military leader, with the only exception being the King himself. He was well-known throughout the kingdom for the great victories he had achieved in foreign lands, colonizing more territory than any previous leader. This story has been unlawfully obtained without the author''s consent. Report any appearances on Amazon. "Sir Aaron?" she repeated. "Why?" "Well, Your Majesty," Robert explained, "it seems as though a little problem has developed. " "A problem? What type of problem?" "Yes, My Lady. The Tastia colony of St. Georgia has been invaded. Sir Aaron is requesting a larger army to deal with the problem. He arrived late last night with the news." "So the King wishes to dine without me this afternoon?" "No," Robert replied. "He wants the complete opposite. He says that your presence is requested, since the upcoming events may affect you just as much as he does. All the dukes and generals will be present as well, an hour hence." "Very well," she said. "I will be there." "A-he-hem..." It was Robert. All turned upon hearing his voice. "The King is coming," he said. Priscilla, Sir Aaron, and all the dukes took their seats immediately, with Priscilla sitting at the end of the table. The king entered and all rose. "Be seated," said Elijah, sitting himself down at the head of the table. "The situation has been explained to me, but only in brief," said the King. "Why don''t you explain it to us again, Aaron?" Sir Aaron had been ready for this. He spoke slowly and clearly: "Well, it seems, Your Highness, that our largest colony, St.Georgia, has been attacked by the neighboring Belden colony of Montania. The attack came as a complete surprise to us since we have operated in that area for years without any breach of peace. I learned of the attack four days after it occurred and immediately headed to Tastia. From what I gather, an army of twenty thousand men surrounds our former colony. Our original force of fifteen hundred has fled and scattered. The people inside support us. They prospered under us. " Elijah was listening with the utmost intensity. "How many army men do we have at present?" he asked Robert. "Twenty-five thousand," Robert replied. "Very well. I expect five thousand army men from all the Dukes at the least. We must leave within the week, so that gives us five days to prepare all our men.", said the king. "We?" said the Queen, Priscilla, who had been silent up until this point. "Well, my dear," said Elijah, "you can''t expect our army to fight a war without its commander. St. Georgia is very far. If Sir Aaron''s plan should fail, it would take weeks to travel up here to form a new one, and then weeks to travel back. Time wasted in such a manner would be far too costly. I must go." "But you can''t!" she persisted. "I must," said the King. "Now?" Priscilla questioned. "Well, of course now, my dear." "But who''ll run the kingdom?" "I have the utmost faith in you," he said. "Sincere faith, my dear. I''m sure you can handle matters while I am away." "But you can''t do that! Not now," "Is there something I should know?" He asked. "What? What is it?" Her lip quivered, but nothing came out. She braced herself. She let out a mighty sigh. "I''m- " - her words became lost. "I''m... pregnant," she said as if the very word was a curse. The entire room gasped. For a moment, the King was startled. His eyes watered. His hands grasped the arms of his chair. Chapter Four Just as all officials left the hall, Elijah immediately entered and almost ran to Priscilla. He embraced her tightly, taking meticulous care to avoid exerting pressure on her abdomen and stomach area. Turning me around and taking her hands in his, he gently placed a kiss on her knuckles, when she suddenly felt her hands getting wet. Getting worried and slowly detaching her hands from his, Priscilla cupped his face and slowly lifted his head, making him look at her. "What happened, why are you crying love? I''m so sorry I should''ve known. Do you not want this child?". "Are you crazy? Why would I not want this? I can''t explain in words how lucky I am to have you". Priscilla had never seen him this happy, a huge smile on his face and tears from his eyes threatening to fall. He proposed announcing the grandest way possible. He looked ever so excited like a young child who has just received their favorite present. However, she stopped him." I want this to be our day, just you and me". They spent most of their day in the garden, taking long walks and having peaceful moments. Elijah was so delighted by the news, he even ventured as far as to start thinking of baby names. His lips were always smiling, as he kissed her gently and patted her still very flat stomach. As the night dawned, after having dinner, they had a slow dance in their bedroom. He would usually try to get her to dance with him but this time, he didn''t. That''s how much he cared. As night came and they were preparing to go to bed, still smiling, Elijah was insistent on telling his mother about the news. However, Priscilla wanted to keep this a surprise. Understanding and respecting her decision, Elijah agreed. As they cuddled up in bed, tired from the day''s events, the last words Priscilla heard before she fell into deep slumber were, "7 billion smiles and only yours pours life into me Cilla." .............................................................................................................. The pier was located a quarter-mile from the palace. On a typical day, it was calm and peaceful. Priscilla, herself often spent time there for solitude, taking in the ocean air and feeling collected. This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report. But that Thursday the pier was anything but quiet. Throngs of people bustled about, waving and cheering, singing songs and doing chants; for, when there is a war at hand, people will always come out to show their support. Off to the right, the royal orchestra began to play "Praise Tastia," sending the crowd into a wild frenzy. Women had baked pies and they ran them to the ships, where happy soldiers scooped them up with their fingers. It was a glorious day. Up on a platform stood the King and the Queen, smiling and waving to the masses, pillars of confidence. Behind them was the majestic Brigantine, the country''s largest vessel, flanked by thirty-nine ships of varying sizes. Over the ledge of each ship peeked the heads of thousands of sailors and infantry, saying their last goodbyes before they were sent into the terrors of war. Priscilla held the King''s hands. She didn''t want to let go. But the time had come. All the speeches and royal decrees were now over, and it was time for them to depart. She squeezed harder. Still, it made no difference. The King was to board the Catamaran, one of the smaller ships, so that he could maneuver more easily. As courageous as he was, he knew that an army could not operate nearly as well without its leader. The King turned to his wife. He could see the worry in her eyes. "I won''t be away for long," he assured her. "Take proper care of yourself," she said. He smiled. "I will" What beautiful eyes she had. He put his hands by her side. She could feel herself getting lost in his loving stare when suddenly she felt his lips press against her own. A roar of approval erupted from the crowd, but the kiss outlasted it all. Priscilla only hoped that she could remember the taste of his lips. When it was over, he lifted her head and looked into her eyes once again, taking her hands in his. Then he turned and was off. The crowd cheered louder than ever as they watched their king board his ship. ................................................................................................................. Months went by. And as the Queen''s pregnant body grew more and more robust, so did the kingdom. She lived up to all her husband''s expectations and more, running the kingdom as well as any other in its history. Priscilla proved to be quite an effective leader, and all prospered because of it. The people soon came to admire Priscilla very much. She was always fair and willing to listen to all their complaints. Often, she would walk through the market streets just so that she could talk to the common folk. The Queen was praised and admired by all for her competence and compassion. Soon Priscilla was more than a queen- she was a beloved leader. Chapter Five ''Your Majesty?'' Elijah blinked as he heard someone calling him in a distant voice. He wished the memory, one that reminded him every day of his fatal mistake, was a bitter nightmare. He should have listened to Cilla and postponed his plan to go to war, otherwise, she would not have met such a fate. He wouldn''t have to live like a walking corpse. His mind wandered off to the market, where he had finally caught a glimpse of his beloved Cilla. It had been 2 years since his happiness was snatched since his life was plunged into the darkness since he forgot to smile. But when he caught sight of her, just as beautiful and healthy as she had been before, the corners of his lips twitched upward without his notice. Dimitra had informed him about her. He knew that she would come back, but now when she is back, it just feels so unreal to him. Though it had been years since he last saw her, touched her, and held her in his arms, he felt as if the moments were just yesterday. Yes, he needed to get to Dimitra and get the answers to his questions. PS: Yeah we know it''s a tiny bit confusing, but we promise, it''s only going to get better:) Striding confidently through the palace doors, he discreetly snuck into the abandoned servant quarters located in the hallway just across the cellar. Inhaling a deep breath, Elijah closed his eyes and folded his hands. He slowly chanted the spell in a steady voice. This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author''s work. "Yekop ithu wmou yoh, raleg thuermb CEKIT!" The floorboards started creaking, the room started swirling as the young king braced himself for the impact. Once he realized that he would pass out any minute, everything suddenly came to a halt. Cautiously opening his eyes, he breathed in a sigh of relief. There sat the spiritual goddess of the kingdom of Tastia, Dimitra knitting with her wrinkled hands. The prince was astounded to see how calm and undisturbed she sat knitting whereas he had just come through from a whirlwind of a servant''s quarter room. Elijah prepared himself and bowed down in courtesy. Dimitra looked up and smiled with amusement. "Greetings, Your Majesty. What brings you here?" "I beg your pardon but I do believe that you are aware of the cause behind my sudden arrival." "Very well. It''s about time you visited here." She nodded knowingly. ............................................................................................................ "Priscilla has been re-born to complete the goals of her previous life, and of course, how long could a soul be able to stay away from her soulmate?" Elijah''s eyes started to tear again, remembering the precious moments he had shared with her. How elated he was, that his reason for survival had finally returned. "But beloved King Elijah of Tastia, I must make you aware of the challenges you will have to overcome. Our reborn Priscilla no longer bears the memory of her past. She is unaware of her being the queen of this land, being the wife of a king who loved her immensely." Dimitra watched as the King''s face drooped down in dismay, his mind trembling at the prospects of the unthinkable. "Can her memories return or are they lost forever?" "Her memories can be restored, but it is quite difficult, and there is no certainty of the same." Even if there was a slight chance she could remember her past and relive her memories. I will do my absolute all. I am ready to offer everything if that means my Cilla recovering her memories. "Oh, you young lovers are quite a piece of work. I wish you all the luck in the world, dearest. Now, care for a cup of tea?"
