I just wanted to warn you that this is my first book so of course the first couple chapter are really bad but I promise it gets much better, and I am busy editing it at the moment. I groaned and covered my head with my pillow, trying to block them out. "Go away! I''m trying to sleep here!" I yelled through the pillow, though I''m sure it came out muffled. "Well, if you don''t get up right now we''ll have to force you too. Are you sure you want that?" I hear Will, the oldest of the triplets ask me teasingly. Instead of answering him, I turned my head in the other direction. "Alright Skr. You leave us with no choice then." Liam, the youngest says before everything bes suspiciously silent. Just as I''m about to check what they''re doing, I''m on the floor with three huge oafs on top of me. I groan as they''re weight crushes me. "Why are you guys such jerks!" I yelled when they finally crawled off of me. I don''t really mean that, I never could. Although they are highly annoying they''re the best brothers a person could ask for. "Because we love you!" Will sang loudly as he rested on his elbows, watching me with an teasing smirk. Yeah, and he''s supposed to be the mature one. Not. "Now get up. School starts soon and mom made you a surprise birthday breakfast." I look at them as if they''re stupid (which they are), that they think that will get me up. "Can''t I just stay at home? It''s myst day anyways, so what''s the big deal?" I ask them while biting my lip, trying to keep myself fromughing, since they were wearing colourful party hats. They eventually did persuade me to get up, it took a lot of convincing, and a bribe that involved oreos. I slowly stood up before making my way into the bathroom and taking a quick shower. Once done in there I walked out and got changed. I walked over to my mirror, assessing the outifit. I always dressed in in clothing. I was wearing a in ck T-Shirt with dark blue jeans and sneakers. I didn''t believe in dressing up for school. What''s the point? I put my hair up in a ponytail, not bothering with any make-up since I don''t wear it. Some girls enjoy wearing it but I''m not one of them. I''ve just never liked the ''feel'' of it on my face. Once I was satisfied with how I looked I headed downstairs only to be stopped and crushed into someones chest. I looked up and saw it was Will. I was then passed on to Cole, then finally Liam. By the time they put me down, I was gasping for breath. I think they''re trying to kill me. I do love them with all my heart and I know that the feelings mutual but they sometimes forget that they''re stronger than me. My big surprise breakfast was chocte chip pancakes. Yum. Though Liam tried to steal some of mine, causing me to almost stab his hand. Twice. No one touches my food. After eating my delicious breakfast I went upstairs again to grab my bag and homework that I forgot to put away. Once I know that I have everything I head downstairs again. I say goodbye to my parents before jumping into my brothers'' car. The trip there was silent, with me reading one of my favourite books, Liam and Cole on their phones and Will driving. Honestly, I was so d to be leaving this ce for a year. For some reason my school is really behind All text ? N?velD(r)a''ma.Org. and still pick on the ''nerds'' of the school. Which is pretty much just me. Sure there are the ''geeks'' but everyone ssifys me as the ''nerd'', stupidbels. I''m bullied constantly but hey, what can you do? Maybe I could stand up for myself? Yeah, just one problem with that. Kyle ck. He''s your average, good-looking, football ying, jerk. And the big reason why my life at school is hell. Sure, somedays I just wish I could wipe that smug smirk off of his face, but then I remember that he''s the future Alpha. Can''t mess with them. People seem to like calling me ''Nerdy Skr.'' It doesn''t even rhyme! Though I just kept reminding myself that this is myst day here for a while, so I''ll finally be free of themter today. Finally pulling up to the school grounds I looked around and saw everyone hanging around and talking with they''re friends. At least I know I have a few people waiting in there for me. They make being here a little less painful. As I climbed out the car, so did my brothers. "What are you doing?" I asked them as they stood in front of me, folding their arms over their chest, trying to look intimidating. I rolled my eyes before giving them my attention. "Now that you''re sixteen and can find your mate, we want to discuss a few things with you. When you do find him, you will not let him mark you. Second, if you feel pains starting, you call us immediately. Don''t try and act tough, just call us and we''ll be over as soon as possible. Lastly we''ll pick you up from here and hit the road straight after. Understand?" "Yes fathers. Bye!" I yelled back at them, heading towards the front of the school. I watched them drive away, making me feel nervous now. I gulp as I feel people''s res on me. Though I couldn''t concentrate on that as only one thought kept running through my head. "I hope I don''t meet my mate today." Chapter 2 Chapter 2 Edited ________________________________________ Once I was by the courtyard, I ducked my head and began making my way to the front of the school. My family wasn''t so aware of what happened when they dropped me off here. I couldn''t tell them though. I need to just deal with it by myself. Well, it''s not like I''m alone in this ce. As I was about to walk up the front steps I heard someone call my name. I stopped and looked around me, searching for the person. I knew who it was, considering only two people in this school called me by my actual name. Dn. We''ve been friends ever since we started high school. I still remember when we first met, I was eating Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDra/ma.O(r)g! lunch and him being the weirdo that he is, decided to try and steal my lunch. I may have punched him in the face, causing him to tackle me to the ground, ending with us both having detention. Having detention with him was interesting, I never knew that a person could shoot a spitball so well, that it hits the inside of a sleeping teachers nose. I don''t know what I''d do if I ever lost him as a best friend. "Happy Birthday Sky!" He yells out as he pulls me into his embrace, hugging me tightly. I wrap my arms around his neck, smiling. He pulls back before dramatically bowing down and holds out a red velvet cupcake with oreo icing. Yum. "Thank you Dn." I say as I give him another hug before taking a small bite of the delicious cupcake. "And here is your present-" "Dn, I told you I didn''t want a present." I whined, pouting up at him while crossing my arms over my chest, still holding the cupcake. "Yes you did, but when have I ever listened?" He makes a good point. No matter how many times I''ve told him to not buy me presents, he always did. I put my hands up in surrender, yfully rring at him. He smiles before reaching into his bag and pulling out a small ck box. He opens the box, causing me to gasp. Inside was a small bracelet with half a heart on it reading, ''Best...'' "Dn it''s beautiful. Thank you!" I say as I put it on my wrist before hugging him tightly again. I pull back and ask for the other half. He winks before pulling out his car keys and showing it to me. I smile as I see the other half of his is in a key-chain form, this one reading, ''Friends'' He then proceeded to put both halves together, showing the whole thing, ''Best Friends'' "I love it. Thank you so much Dn." It had honestly been one of the best gifts I have ever received. Dn and I always had this thing to out do each other in giving presents. It''s seems like he''s winning at the moment. I need to up my game. "If you ever miss me you can just look at that, and remember that I''ll be here waiting for you, when you return." He says sincerely as he puts his keys away. "I could never forget you Dn. You''d unfortunately make sure that I never forget." I say teasingly as we hear the bell ring. We look at each other before walking up the stairs and entering the school. We walk to our lockers, grabbing our books before heading to our separate sses. Walking by myself is slightly difficult. I''m not a ''weakling'' but I just choose not to fight against someone, but by saying that people shove me around all the time. Only when Dn''s not around. I finally reached homeroom and saw that I was the first person here. I roll my eyes, knowing that it''s not shocking. I take my seat in the front and wait for the bell to ring. I look to my left and stare out the window, seeing a fancy car pull up. A guy steps out and I instantly recognize who it is. Soon to be, Alpha Kyle ck. Even I can''t deny that he''s a good-looking guy but unfortunately he knows that too. He''ll sleep with anything that walks and has breasts. And that''s a fact, not an opinion. I turned away from him as I heard the bell ring. People started to walk into the ss, followed by the teacher. I scratched the back of my neck as I felt my wolf begin to jump around excited. It''s odd though, I can feel her inside of me but she hasn''t said a word yet, I don''t even know her name. I just shrugged it off, not wanting to deal with this crazy wolf at the moment. The teacher did roll call before the bell for first period rung. I got my stuff before walking out the room and heading to my first ss. It took a bit longer since I was tripped twice by a group of jocks. I just ignored those morons before walking into the ss. I took my seat, which was surprisingly in the back, and waited for the teacher to start the lesson. As everyone filled the room, I just shrugged off the rudements they threw at me, being use to all of it by now. When will these people grow up? Is that too much to ask? The teacher finally entered the ss and began the lesson, discussing something we had already learned about. I still don''t understand that. You always move onto a new grade but they basically teach you the same things over again, sure not every ss is like that, but most are. It''s bing extremely annoying. Can they not teach us something different for once? I immediately stopped ranting inside my head when I smelt the most delectable scent ever. After my wolf had said the actual word, I mentally started panicking. I kept thinking of so many different scenarios and none of them ended well. My hands began to sweat and I started hyperventting. My wolf on the other hand was howling for joy, calling out to her mate over and over again. I knew that she wanted me to go follow the scent, and by the way it kept growing stronger, I knew that he''d be here any minute now. I didn''t stick around to find out who I was destined to be with, I shoved my chair back and ran out the back door of the ss. I wasn''t ready for this. I didn''t want a mate. My wolf kept howling out to her mate, growling at me for running away, but I didn''t care. I wouldn''t and couldn''t face him. All I could think about is how disapointed he might be after he finds out I''m his mate. I know that I''m probably overreacting but it can''t be helped. I''ve just gotten use to the fact that I''m a disappointment to others. As these thoughts crossed my mind, I ran to my safe haven. The only ce where I could sit and think, calming my heart and thoughts down. The library. My main reason for heading there was cause of the second person in this school that brought me joy. Chloe. Chloe was the only other person in this school that actually treated me like an actual human being. If a person really thought about it, we were kind of the same. Though she was so much more beautiful. I knew that she didn''t have ss at the moment, so she would be in there. Unlike me, Chloe was very shy around people, except for Dn and me. Upon entering the library I immediately spotted her. She sat in the far back corner, sitting on the ground, reading her favourite book, ''To Kill a Mockingbird''. I''ve never personally read it, but she does rmended it. Chloe is very beautiful, with her long blonde hair and amazing body. Something that was very different between us. She still wore her sses, but wouldn''t need it when she turns sixteen soon. It saddens me when I think that I won''t be here for my two best friends'' birthdays. Making my way over to her, I sat down. She closed her book and looked over at me in confusion. "What happened? You never show up this early." She says seriously but still with a soft smile. I sigh and lean my head against the book shelf, causing her smile to fall and a look of concern to wash over her face. "I found my mate." I whisper while ying with my fingers. Instead of a frown, like I thought she''d pull, she gives me a look of sympathy. "Why wouldn''t you want to know who he is? Is it cause you''re moving?" She asks, cing her hand on my shoulder and giving it a gentle squeeze. "Yes and no. No cause, what if he rejects me Chloe? No one in this school would want to be my mate, what says that he''ll be any different?" I ramble on, before groaning and putting my face in my hands. Just then I heard my phone beep, indicating a new message. I sighed and pulled my phone out, scrolling to the message. I looked at the name and saw that it was Cole. ''Hey Sky, Mom and Dad said that we''re leaving early. So we''re outside. Hurry up. Time to go.'' Looking at that message, relief immediately flooded me. Now I wouldn''t have to worry about running into him today. Turning to Chloe, I exined the message. She pulled me into her embrace and wished me luck. I left the library then made my way to find Dn. Finding Dn was easy. I saw him in his ss and he saw me. He asked to excuse himself then came out. I told him that I''m leaving now, to which he pulled me into his embrace. I smiled as he hugged me tightly, telling me how much he''ll miss me. I pulled away before saying goodbye and walking away from him. I rushed to my locker, getting all the things I needed. Then I smelt him. Just as I was about to close my locker his scent filled my nose. I was going to make a run for it but was tote when I was pinned against the row of lockers. I hissed at the pain but ignored it when I felt the sparks run through my body. I didn''t want to look up, knowing the identity of my mate. My body defied me and did, and shock was the only thing I felt when I looked into the eyes of my mate. Soon-to-be Alpha Kyle ck. "Are you kidding me?! Why did you have to be my mate?! Of all people, it''s you!" Every word he spat hurt, I couldn''t deny it. I knew where this was all going and it came. "I, Kyle ck, reject you, Skr Maine, as my mate." He sneered in my face. Then my phone began to vibrate. I knew that it was my brothers, which made me nervous. No one should make them wait. I knew if I kept them waiting, that they woulde in here and search for me. So I tried pushing him off and said the first thing that came to mind. "I don''t care! Now let go of me!" I knew that he was taken back by my outburst and for a slipt second I thought I saw pain pass through his eyes, but it was immediately gone. Instead he red at me, and shoved me again. "How don''t you care?! I just rejected you! How aren''t you upset?!" He yelled, beginning to crush my shoulder with the amount of pressure he''s putting on it. "Let go of me! I knew that you''d most likely reject me! Now let me go, I''ll see you in a year!" I yelled before shoving him off of me. I can''t exin where all of this confidence wasing from. I''ve just had enough of him. All of his tormenting, his words, his actions, and now this. I snapped. I waspletely shocked that I could shove an Alpha off of me, though I probably just caught him off guard. I started to walk away but yelped when he grabbed my wrist and pulled me back. I red up at his confused face. "What do you mean you''ll see me in a year?" He asks, worry clear on his face. Why would he be worried? It''s not like he would care about me? "Go ask you Dad. Now let go!" Saying that to him, made him release his grip on my wrist slightly. He was obviously distracted and I made use of that. I pulled away from him and left him there. I pushed the front doors open and saw my brothers'' car. I was finally free. I could finally leave this hell in my life, leaving behind the person who made it hell. But I wasn''tpletely happy. Climbing into their car, they asked questions on why I was so silent, but I didn''t answer. I could only focus on the pain my wolf and I were going through with this rejection. I knew it wasing, but I never knew it hurt so much. I couldn''t let them see the pain though. I refused. I tried speaking to her, but all she could do was whimper in pain. I promised her that I''d never let someone hurt us like this again. Reaching home was quick and before I knew it, we were on our way to our new home. Chapter 4 Chapter 4 Edited _________________________________________ Kyle POV Waking up this morning, my wolf was very excited. He continuously kept running around, smiling and just looking happy. It was odd for him though. He wasn''t the type of wolf to be ''giddy'', he was always calm and collected, not really taking interest in my life unless it came to pack issues. I had asked him numerous times why he was suddenly being like this, but he''d just ignore me, going on with jumping around. I eventually gave up, shrugging. I grabbed my school bag, lugging it over my shoulder before making my way downstairs. Walking into the kitchen, I saw my father sitting at the kitchen table, reading through a few files while drinking coffee. Mom was drinking her coffee, leaning against the kitchen counter. She smiled when she saw me. "Good morning sweetheart." I smiled, sitting down and making myself some cereal. "Morning guys." I said before beginning to eat my cereal. "Son.." Father went on, exining something but I barely paid attention. My mind was to focused on understanding what was wrong with my wolf. All of this was just so unlike him, and it worried me. I couldn''t keep dwelling on the issue, so I finished up my cereal before saying goodbye and heading out the house. School was waste of time in my honest opinion, I mean I''m bing Alpha soon, so why should I go then? Parents. They are the only reason I bother going there. I arrivedte, and watched as most people already were walking inside. I turned the car off before climbing out. I grabbed my bag and walked to the front of the school where all my friends were waiting for us. As I did so, I caught the eye of most of the girls here, and a few res from some guys, but those that were human. Those who were in my pack knew better than to re at me. My wolf growled in annoyance as I loved all the attention all the girls were giving me, going on about that only our mate could look at me like that. Rolling my eyes, I shut him out, not wanting to listen to another lecture from him. I finally reached my friends and greeted all of them. There stood Brian my Third in Command, Bruce a strong pack warrior and Damon, my cousins who''s also a very strong pack warrior. We have all always been close, and have always had each others backs. "Kyle! Late again man? So how''s the new Betas?" Brian asked, patting me on the back. In full honesty, I would have rather had Brian as my Beta, but father chose for me. He has his reasons for everything he does. For example, its mostmon for soon to be Alphas to take up the role when they are 18, but he''s decided to give me the title at 17. Which will only be next year. He took over at 17 and so did my Grandfather. "They''re alright I guess. They leave for that special training today. I don''t understand why they must be trained by the Ancients but not me?" I spoke, shrugging. It was confusing, but I didn''t dwell on it for too long. As we all walked down the hallways, making our way to homeroom, I suddenly stopped. That''s when the most amazing smell hit me. Vani and the ocean. I didn''t even think those two scentsbined could smell as great as it did. I knew exactly what it was and then it all made sense. I now understood why my wolf was so excited today. Unfortunately as I stepped inside, I noticed that her scent left through the other door of the ss. Just as I was about to run after her, I was stopped by the teacher. If it weren''t for the fact that he was human, I would have ripped his throat out for speaking to me like that, but can''t without exposing my secret, and that''s against Wolf Law. So I reluctantly sat down, my leg shaking as I just wanted to go after my mate, my Luna. After having to wait for over 5 minutes in ss, I gave up and jumped out of my seat. I ran out the ss, ignoring the teacher yelling out for me. Her scent was bing faint, I couldn''t lose it. I had to find her. I ran down the halls, searching everywhere. Just as I was about to enter the library, I smelt her scent was stronger down another hallway. I followed that one rather. I wish I didn''t follow it. I wish that I had never seen who my mate was. Looking down the hallways she was in, the one I was destined to with, was none other than Skr Maine. I knew who she was in this school, what her reputation was in this school. She could never be my Luna, she was weak, she couldn''t handle a position like this. I knew what I had to do. For goodness sakes, everyone would mock me if they found who she was. My wolf screamed at me to stop, to ept her. But I couldn''t. I can''t ept a weak Luna. I couldn''t ruin my reputation, so next thing I knew, she was pinned against the locker. I ignored the sparks I felt when touching her, and ignored how beautiful she truly was. I couldn''t ept her. Anyone but her. I rejected her, but was shocked to her response. "I don''t care, now let go of me!" She yelled, trying to shove me off. I was taken back, and frankly slightly hurt. I shook that away before I red at her. "What do you mean you don''t care?! I just rejected you! How are you not upset!?" I yelled, feeling confused about all of this. I ignored how she winced as I pressed harder on her shoulder. "Let go of me! I knew that you''d most likely reject me! Now let me go, I''ll see you in a year!" She yelled at me, shoving me off. She had managed to do so, which frankly shocked me. Not even Brian was strong enough. I had never truly seen her act like this, her actually standing up for once. It shocked me "What do you mean you''ll see me in a year?" Why would she say that? I felt myself start to be worried,ing up with many scenarios as to why she was leaving. "Go ask your Dad! Now let go!" She yelled, pulling her wrist free from my grip. She ran down the halls, and I followed after her. She walked out the school doors. I then saw the three new Betas. Just as I was about to ask what they were doing here, I watched as Sky went up to them, hugging them before climbing in the car with them. It took me a few seconds to figure it out. She was the sibling. And she''s going with them. Gone for a year. I felt my heart break as I realised my mistake. I had this person right in front of me, that was true. Never before have I ever seen her hurt another person, she took all the pain. I rejected an innocent person all because I cared about my stupid reputation. "Go after our mate you idiot! ept mate! Take her back!" My wolf screamed, scratching to go after her. I just stood there, starring at the spot where she had just left. "How am I going to fix this? Will she even forgive me?" I asked him, feeling guilt eating its way through my heart. But what he said, caused my heart to break, because it was true. "Why would she ept us? After the way we''ve always treated her." He whimpered. I could feel his sadness and heart break. I made a vow to myself, my wolf, and most important, Skr. Even if she didn''t ept us, I was going to make it to her for all the pain I have caused. I will do anything for her to forgive me. Chapter 5 Chapter 5 Edited ________________________________________ Finally we had made it to the airport, I swear my parents were getting lost on purpose. Not sure for the reason but I don''t want to dwell on that. Climbing out of the car, I went to the trunk and grabbed my bags. I pulled it out before setting it on the floor. Thank goodness for roller bags. Once everyone had their things we walked to the entrance of the airport, walking through the doors people all around were walking quickly, some even running while others casually sat around. Not wasting anytime we made our way to the booth to get our tickets. As we stood there I couldn''t ignore the fact that my heart still felt like breaking and that I wanted to cry a river of tears. But I had to be strong right now, I couldn''t let anyone see my pain, especially my brothers. As we stood in line I felt my tummy rumble. I told my parents that I was gonna go get something to snack on while they all waited there. Entering the small little shop I looked around at all the different kinds of snacks they had. But I couldn''t shake the feeling of being watched, and true to my gut when I turned around the cashier guy, who''s probably around my age was staring at me. I admit he was kind of cute. He had dark blonde hair that came up to his shoulders, with soft blue eyes. He was muscr but still looked skinny. Though I wasn''t interested in dealing with any guys for a very long time. I grabbed a packet of chips, a chocte bar and a drink before walking up to the counter. I also ced a pack of gum down, just so I can chew it on the ne. I hate when my ears be blocked. As he rang everything up he decided to speak. "What''s your name cutey?" He asked, a smirk present on his face as he looked me over. From his scent I could tell he was human. I rolled my eyes and didn''t answer but that didn''t seem to stop him. "So I was wondering if I could get your number?" That smirk stayed as it was, now only he was leaning over the counter slightly, intentionally flexing his muscles. Suddenly I felt an arm go around my shoulders and the cashiers eyes widened slightly. "And why would she do that?" I heard Cole speak sternly. I heard from behind me, turning I watched as Liam and Will stepped into the store, both with a re on their faces. Looking back at the cashier you could see the fear in his eyes but he tried to hide it away. Rolling his eyes he crossed his arms over his chest. "Whatever, I can get any girl I want. Only spoke to her cause I thought she''d be easy." And there you have it folks, this guy has just signed his death wish. After finishing his sentence, all three of my brothers took swing after swing at him. I was surprisingly shocked no one hade to stop this. I wanted to but knew better than to get in they''re way when they are angry. They eventually stopped and you could hear the guy groaning loudly as heid on the floor. I frowned as I felt guilty looking at him. But I couldn''t do anything once Will grabbed my arm and began to drag me out of the store. We soon found our parents and made our way to our ne. As we boarded the ne the air hostess indicated where all of us were sitting. Since we were six people in total we all couldn''t sit next to each other. So I sat in the middle with both Cole and Liam by my sides and Will had to go sit with the parents since he''s the oldest. He tried swapping with the other two, but they weren''t having it. When the ne finally took off, I watched as Liam held onto the arm rest tightly. I knew he hated flying so I took his hand in mine and held it tightly, while chewing on a piece of the gum I had bought. Half an hour passed by and I decided to watch one of my all time favourite movies, ''The Host''. I may perhaps have a little crush on Jake Abel bute on, who wouldn''t? Halfway through the movie my eyes began to close slightly. I decided to rather just sleep since the flight would be long and if I became board I would start to annoy the living hell out of my brothers. I''m such a good sister. "Sky wake up!" There was a king size bed in the middle of the room with the softest looking linen over it, with extremely high ceilings. I was extremely happy when I realized that I didn''t have to share a bathroom with my brothers. Soon someone came up and gave us all a tour of the castle, it was basically a giant maze. I could barely remember where my own bedroom was. Though I figured that I''d get use to it over time. When the tour was over they walked us to the great hall, where the Ancient Wolves were. Walking up torge dark brown doors, I noticed all of the carvings in them. It looked to be of a group of wolves, howling to the moon. The doors creaked open and we all were ushered in. The room was were dressed in fancy robes but none of them looked a day over thirty. Luckily they all smiled brightly, which helped to calm my nerves down slightly. They began to converse with my brothers while I stood to the side, keeping my head slightly bowed. I couldn''t focus on them any longer as I suddenly heard a ringing in my ears. "Its time to shift. We needed to be in their presence. And my name is Moona." She spoke with authority, but before I could question anything, it started. About 5 minutester 8 of them were dead but the other 2 escaped, most likely to tell the King who I am. Cam took one of the vampires shirts and handed it to me so I could shift back. I went behind a tree and shifted. When I came back Cam had his back to me, I tapped his shoulder and he turned around. I expected him to be mad at me for dragging him into this, but he didnt look mad he looked worried. "Are you okay Sky, they didn''t hurt you did they?" He said while looking me over. "Im fine Cam thanks for helping me and I guess you know my big secret now but you cant tell anyone promise?" I pleaded to him. He nodded his head and asked me to exin.
