《The CEO Alpha King》
Chapter 1 Fucked Up
Chapter 1 Fucked Up
Serena''s POV
As I stood in front of one of the biggest and tallest skyscrapers in the city, I couldn''t help but feel in
awe at it. With the bright 8am sun shining brightly and reflecting against the Apex, it looked like a
magical castle except with ss as it''s walls. It was tall, huge and spoke of Wealth.
With the inscription ''WILLIAM ZEE FASHION INDUSTRY'' just at the center of the building, a wave
of pride flushed through me.
I was going to be working here!
The biggest fashion industry in the country, home to beautiful and recognized models. It was an
empire on its own.
I couldn''t stop the rush of excitement that rushed through me as I thankful appreciated my sister in
my mind. She works here and had secured a job for me at thest minute.
"Hey!" A loud voice shouted from inside the building, and I recognized the older man from my
interview a week ago.
"Why are you standing there? Aren''t you one of the new interns? Get your fucked up ass in!" He
yelled And I hurriedly snapped out of my awe, rushing excitedly into the building.
"Go straight. Follow that line and you''ll see a door. Your fellow interns are there, the president
wants to meet each and every one of you." He pointed towards a direction just opposite what I figured
was a lounge area.
I nodded my head in thanks, rushing through the corridors while admiring every office I passed
through. The interior of the building was far more exquisite than the exterior.
With ss doors, sparkling chandeliers hanging from very high ceilings, and beautiful artworks
hanging off sterile white walls. The whole ce was gorgeous.
I found the door, took a deep breath and pulled it open. My gaze fell on four other guys in the
room, they sat in single chairs as each of them eyes fixed solely on me.
I recognized them immediately from the interview and I realised I had been the only girl who must
have been picked.
I had no doubt that my sister might have put in a good word for me so I got selected.
I ignored their nces, but mostly because I was shy and hurriedly went in, shutting the door
slightly and taking the seat closest to me.
I hadn''t sat downpletely when the door opened again to reveal a young woman with bright red
hair, a frown on her lips and blue eyes that red daggers at everyone before stopping at me.
I shifted ufortably at the attention before she spoke in a fierce voice. "Number One rule.
Never bete." She said, walking in and mming the door shut loudly, I jerked in my seat.
"I''m sorry." I whispered, and I saw her nod before looking at the other guys. I almost sigh in relief.
"Yes, as I was saying. The CEO of ourpany, Mr Zed Williams wille to personally see you
guys. I''ll advise you to act normal but brave at the same time. Don''t make any silly mistake when
speaking when you aren''t spoken to." She said, folding her arms in all seriousness.
"Mr Zed hates that." Her blue eyes turned to me once more.
Why is she staring at me that way? Did I do something wrong again? I wondered, taking my eyes
to the floor this time, not wanting to feel her prating gaze.
"What is your name?" She pointed to me in question, unfolding her arms to watch me usingly.
"Me?" I asked, pointing towards myself acting foolishly like I always do.
"Yes. You," she rolled her eyes in annoyance.
"It''s Serena ma''am." I answered, almost standing up in fear to respond to her.
"Serena what?" She asked again, louder this time and I couldn''t help but rise abruptly to my feet. I
could feel the other four pairs of eyes burning holes into me as anxiety filled my veins.
"Serena Williams."
I watched as she took out a file that she had dropped on the table upon walking in. She furrowed
her eyebrows as she scanned through it before sighing, dropping it and facing me, softly this time.
"Okay Serena, I''ll personally advise you to sit at the back and be firm. Don''t behave the way you
did earlier or you might get yourself thrown out." She advised, and I nodded vigorously before taking
my seat, breathing loudly in relief.
"Ok now. I''ll leave you guys, stay here until the bosses, you can''t leave this ce." Her stern
voice boomed, and from the corner of my eyes I saw the guys nod.
"I''ll leave now." She added, snatching her file before exiting the room, mming the door shut
once more.
I flipped my head on the table, feeling lighter as she left. I wiped my sweaty palms against my
gown, before putting my hand above my chest to calm my beating heart.
This was supposed to be the time my wolf in me would try to calm me, but all that was left was just
my own mind constantly reminding how clumsy and weak I was. And how I was so undeserving of
anything good.
And not only did I think so. No. My sister was a constant reminder of everything I wasn''t. She had
the beauty, brains, perfect figure, dashing smile, smooth skin.
And though I could ept she was far better than me, what I couldn''te to ept was the
constant reminder that I was the one who killed my mother.
While I hadn''t taken a knife or gun at my mother, she had died giving birth to me. And my sister,
joined by the same mother but not the same father, drilled that into my head every time she got.
I remember I used to get mad at her when she used me of it, but after some time, seeing how
far she had gone in modelling and securing a bright future for herself, I came to realise that maybe I
was the one with issues.
The clumsy she-wolf, like everyone called me. The one who got rejected in everypany I
applied to. The one who didn''t go to college. The ugly one.
And after giving in to her, she finally announced to me that she had secured a job for me at the
samepany she worked at. While it wasn''t my dream job, it was still something I was grateful to her
for.
"Serena." I heard a male voice call me. I lifted my head up to stare at the guy sitting in front of me.
His blonde hair swept back from his face to reveal bright green eyes. He had a dimple in his cheeks as
he smiled at me. He was handsome. I couldn''t deny that.
"Hey." I heard him snap his fingers at me to draw my attention back to him.
"Yes." I shook my head, snapping out of my gaze. I hadn''t realized I had been admiring his eyes as
a blush tainted my cheeks.
He chuckled as the other guys and I wanted to sink into the ground.
"Your phone is ringing." he shook his head in amusement and I realised my phone was ringing
loudly in my bag.
I immediately took it out to see it was my sister calling. I picked it and ced it over my left ear.
"Serena, are you here already?" Her voice sounded, impatiently.
"I''m at thepany but-" I started to say but as usual, she never let me speak.
"Ask around for the dressing room. Come there now." She ordered before ending the call abruptly.
My mind shed at the warning the red haired woman had said, concerning not leaving until the
CEO arrived. I already angered her once and I couldn''t disobey this time.
I sighed deeply, taking my phone to dial my sister but it went straight to voicemail. I groaned and
confusion welled through me.
What should I do?
Should I quickly go and tell her I wasn''t supposed to leave?
Hopefully the CEO wouldn''t have arrived by then.
I looked at the time and it read, 817am. By 830 I should be back here. No harm done. And as
quick as a fox.
I rose to my feet, flinging my bag on my shoulders as I made my way towards the door, when a
voice called out to me.
"Are you going somewhere?" I turned to see the blonde guy who had spoken to me earlier, his
eyesced with worry.
"I will be back." I replied to him tiredly before walking out.
I rushed to a worker dressed in a corporate suit. He stops to re at me, ncing through my
oversized gown and worn out shoes.
Belongs to ? n0velDrama.Org.
"What is it?" He asked, his voice tainted with a little bit of disgust.
"Please, where is the dressing room?" I ask, sounding as polite as I could, ignoring the stare he
gave me once more.
Seems like everyone had an attitude problem in thepany. I said nothing though before he
spoke again.
"Fifth floor." He walked away not waiting for me to utter a thank you. I rushed towards the elevator,
narrowly missing ady who was walking with a husky.
I got to the dressing roompletely awe by the numerous clothes hanging off different racks,
everyone seemed to be busy as they went about therge room.
My eyes settled on one of the models already dressed. She was in a long silver gown, with her
blonde hair styled perfectly and felt in waves over her shoulders. She stood in a pose with a camera
shutter in front of her.
The moment her gaze found mine, I blushed and went around in search of my sister. Maybe I
wasn''t supposed to be looking. I wasn''t sure, but I didn''t stick around to find out.
I found my sister at the extreme end of the room, in a perfect red gown that clinged to her like a
second skin. Her curves stood out as she admired herself in the mirror, her hair tied up exposing pale
smooth skin. Her hazel eyes found mine immediately and she turned to me. A frown working itself upon
her bright red lips.
"You arete." She walked time folding her hand in front of her chest, pushing her breast up a little.
"I''m sorry Kate. But I came to tell you that we were asked to stay back and wait for the CEO
because he is gonna be seeing us before we start anything," I said to her, ncing briefly at a model
who passed me, a make up artist hot on her heels.
"The CEO isn''ting to work today." Kate rolled her eyes, ignoring me as she grabbed my hand
leading me to a heap of clothes on arge sofa.
"I need you to sort out these dresses for me. Colour by colour, texture by texture." She orders and
I open my mouth to speak but she beats me to it.
"You are nothing but an assistant here. This is your work. You are here to assist us in getting
dressed. And that includes sorting out our clothes. Today is your first day, you should work without
model who just walked in.
I sigh before getting down to work. She said that the CEO wasn''ting to work today after all, I
might as well just do it and return after that.
"Kate, don''t tell me that ''thing'' is your sister?" I heard a voice ask and I turned to see the model I
had been gawking at earlier, eyeing me while talking to my sister.
"Sadly, my mom adopted her out of pity before she died." I heard Kate yawn as if bored.
"What a relief. You''re so pretty while she looks like a lizard." I heard her chuckle.
"Come on Betty. Why refer to her as a lizard in her presence? You should have just said it behind
her back." I heard my sister feign sadness beforeughing.
"Oh please. What can she do to me? She is an intern, I can easily get her fired," Betty said, joining
Kate inughter.
But I didn''t turn to look at them as I continued sorting out the dresses, my sight getting blurry as I
felt tears gathering around them.
"It''s alright Serena. You are not a lizard. You are many things but not a lizard, just ignore them,
ignore them." A voice whispered in my head.
Many times I was sad or depressed, there was that tiny voice, encouraging me. And sadly, I knew
it wasn''t my wolf.
After finishing sorting the dress, I looked around to see my sister and her model friend and left,
probably for a shoot. Leaving the dresses, inside what to do next, I left the room, not rushing out since
my sister had said the CEO wouldn''t being.
I passed by a coffee maker, and decided to get one. The hot cup in my hand calmed me a little,
and I started to make my way back to the office where I was asked to wait.
I opened the door and immediately bumped into a huge figure in front of me, the coffee slipping out
of my hands and sshing against ck ironed suit as I lost my bnce, smacking my butt on the
floor.
A strong, dangerous and powerful aura overwhelmed me, forcing me to submit as the figure turned
to me slowly. I raised my eyes to see a tall man with ck hair and cold grey eyes, my heart sank as
fear ran through my veins as I recognized the man I had bumped into.
The Werewolf King. The Alpha King, and above all, The CEO of William Zee Fashion Industry.
Mr Zed Williams. Oh, I''m so fucked up.

Chapter 2 His office
Serena''s POV
As I sat on the floor, frightened, my lungs welled up with fear, my veins burned with nervousness
as I started to shake, my eyes leaving the alpha as they fixed on the ground in submission.
I forced my mouth to open but my fear was too great and I couldn''t force my voice out, instead I
looked from the corner of my eyes, noticing a crowd of people forming a small circle around us.
Another man came to stand beside the Alpha, Mr Zed and I heard hushed whisperings before Mr
Zed started to move towards me.
His aura had me shuffling backwards, still not looking up, I tried to move away from him, but with
each step he took closer to me, my heart thumped loudly in my chest, threatening to jump out.
Then the weirdest thing happened, he passed me!
I looked up to see his coffee stained back to me, as he continued walking down the hallway, the
other workers'' mouths opened in awe before bowing in respect.
He paid them no mind as he spoke over the phone to someone and when he disappeared from
sight I finally remembered to breathe.
I gasped rapidly for air to fill my lungs as thoughts came crashing into me at once.
Oh moon goodness!
What the hell did I do?!
I''m so fucked! And scared!
I couldn''t even apologise! I was too frozen to even speak. What do I do now?!
I took my fingers to my lips, chewing down my nails nervously, a habit I had gotten used to the past
few years. And while I sat there lost in my own thoughts, I began to hear audible whispers.
"That little b?tch. How can she be so stupid?" One of the workers said from behind me.
"Haha, she''s really lucky he got distracted by that call but I don''t think she''ll work here anymore."
This time a man spoke, his voiceced with amusement.
"She looks so stupid, how did she even get in here?" A woman asked, and I could imagine her
ring hatefully at me.
"Dirty fool."
Without realizing, my eyes welled with tears as they started to run down my cheeks, leaving a bit
trail behind. Of course. Hearing these words weren''t foreign to me. I knew what I was.
But hearing theme from strangers, people who didn''t even know me, hurt me the most. I had
made a fool of myself on the first day at work.
Hell, I''m still sitting on the floor!
With the coffee sprayed around me, I started to get up slowly, but my teary eyes didn''t allow me to
see properly as I started to stumble when a pair of arms grabbed me gently, pulling me up.
I started to mutter a thank you when I was faced with a familiar blonde hair and green eyes. The
other intern -whose name I still didn''t know- that had told me my phone had been ringing.
Standing on both my feet again, he gently led me to what I discovered was the storage room. I
sighed feeling relieved that I didn''t have any pair of judgemental eyes on me anymore.
I started to cry softly.
"Moon goddess! Serena or what''s your name! How can you be so-?" He paused, sighing deeply
and touching my shoulders reassuringly.
"He could have just fired you when you haven''t even fully resumed. You are a werewolf. I have
never seen a werewolf so weak and clumsy." He uttered softly as if trying to mince the hurtfulness of
his words.
"I. I-" I tried to say something but I couldn''t trust my voice and couldn''t risk bursting into tears.
"You should stay here for the main time. Well, at least until the tension outside is gone. The CEO
has given us the permission to resume work but you weren''t there with us. So much trouble on your

first day." He clicked his tongue at the end, smiling a little to try and soften the mood before leaving. He
patted my shoulder as he walked out.
******
When I got home, my eyes were red and puffy from having cried too much. I walked quietly to my
small room at the end of the hallway, ignoring any noise I could have heard from the kitchen.
Throwing my bag on my desk, I flopped on my bed, grabbing my pillow and holding it close to me.
I felt worn out, tired and worried.
Does this mean I''ll never have to work there again?
Was I fired already even without him saying anything?
Technically, I wasn''t given permission yet to work by the CEO and after what I had done to him
today. I wondered if I ever would get a chance to work there anymore.
I clinged my pillow tighter, shitting my eyes and tried to get some sleep. I was emotionally drained
after everything that had happened today and I needed to rest.
I heard the sound of a car pulling up outside and could only guess Kate was back from work. I
could hear the mming of the front door.
Yeah. She was pissed.
I couldn''t bear the thought of her nagging andining tonight, not when I was totally feeling
like shit.
"Serena! Serena!!" I heard her shriek my name, her footstepsing down the hallway angrily
before she mmed open my door and dragged me out of bed by the hair so quickly that I didn''t have
the time to blink.
"You fool! You disgraced me at thepany today. Why on earth did you spill coffee on our CEO''S
suit? Are you nuts? Have you really gone nut you silly thing?" She started to shout and I tried to wrench
away from her grip but she held me tighter as she continued.
"Why did mom give birth to a silly thing like you as my sister? Why? I hate the fact that you are my
sister a lot. You disgust me. You disgust me a lot." She spat.
"I was only trying to help you work but you always end up disgracing me. From today onwards, if
you see me at thepany, act like you don''t know me. Don''t ever call me by my name. I don''t wanna
get mixed with your misery or I fear I might be miserable like you. Do you hear me?" She shook
me by the hair and I mumbled a small yes.
I fell to the floor the moment she stepped out, resting my back against the bed and pulling my
knees closer to my chest, and started to cry once more.
It wasn''t more than a minute when my door opened again to reveal my step dad. He was tall, with
brown curly hair around his forehead.
"Hey clumsy girl, what did you do again today? Why is your sister so mad at you?" My step father
asked, looking around my room.
"It''s nothing," I mumbled in reply to him and he said nothing before he turned back and left. I shut
my door, climbed into my bed and clung to my pillow once more.
My thoughts wandered to my mother and I cried more.
Why did you die giving birth to me? I murmured. It was rare for werewolves to die at childbirth, but
my mother had been human, my sister was also human. But my father was a werewolf and I had
inherited his genes.
For a second, I imagined my mother here with me. What would she have thought of me? Would
she be proud I was different from the rest? Or disappointed in me?
Fresh tears rolled down my cheeks and I snuggled closer in my nkets
"Stop crying. Everything would be ok." That small voice at the back of my mind whispered and I
wiped my eyes, before falling asleep.
**
I woke up to sun rays reflecting on my face, burning me slightly. I groaned, opening my eyes gently
to see it was already bright outside.
I realised I had slept in the same position asst night, and still in my work clothes from yesterday.
I yawned, my eyes wandered to my clock just beside my bed.
Fuck!
It was 730am!
I had to be at work by 800!
I jumped out of the bed, running into my bathroom while taking off my clothes quickly. I stumbled a
few times but kept the pace.
I set a new record of taking my bath in a few minutes and ran back out, heading to my closet to
pick out a nice yellow gown I had worn to my birthday partyst year.
I hurriedly dressed, picking up my phone and bag before rushing out of my room, struggling to put
on my shoes.
"Kate!" I called out to my sister who was just stepping out of the door, but she didn''t respond and I
increased my pace following her outside.
The hot sun warmed my damp skin as I ran to Kate who was stepping into her car. A ck
Mercedes, she had bought few months ago.
"Would you please let mee with you? I''m alreadyte." I pleaded, watching Kate freeze a little
before she turned to me. A devious smirk on her lips.
"No." She said, getting into her car and zoomed off.
I stumped my feet, before walking to the bus stop. I would have to take a bus today since I was
alreadyte. Since I always walked to my destinations.
Thepany''s building came into view and after handling all my money for transport fare, I
hurried out, and ran to the entrance of the building only to be stopped by two security guards.
"What do you want?" One of them asked me.
"I am one of the newly employed workers here," I answered, gulping down the fear that was
already climbing up my throat.
"Where is your card?"
"I don''t have one." I remembered seeing the others with a pass card. They were all given
yesterday after getting permission from the CEO.
"Then you can''t enter until you get one."
Shit! What do I do now?
I looked past the guard to see Kate walking into the building, her phone in her ear as she smiled.
"Kate! Kate!!" I called, happily.
She turned to me, still talking to whosoever on the phone.
"Please help me. They aren''t letting me in," I pleaded.
"Do you know her miss?" The other security guard asked Kate and she beamed.
"No, I don''t. She must be a fan." She said, winking at me before walking away from my sight.
I gasped, stumbling a little as shock filled my face leaving me hopeless. Of course she would do
such a thing after I helped her yesterday to sort out those clothes knowing fully well I could get into
trouble.
Realisation shook me. Did she do that on purpose? Lie to me that the CEO wouldn''t being so
I wouldn''t get my pass?
Of course. I almostughed. I was such a fool!
"You''ll have to leave this premises, miss." The guard said.
"I really have to go in, sir. I work here now." I started to plead and just before he could grab my
hand, a voice sounded.
"What is going on here?"
We turned to see the red haired woman from yesterday, and the guards bowed in greeting.
"Good morning ma''am"
"Ma''am she is distracting the others, iming she is a worker here."
Thedy rolled her eyes before turning to me. "Where is your card? They must have given you
one. where is it?" She demanded.
I gulped, unsure of what to say.
"I..I.. I couldn''t get one. I wasn''t opportuned to see the CEO yesterday."
She sighed before ring at me. "Follow me." She said, and I staggered after her, smiling
triumphantly.
As we walked, I noticed a lot of people bowing in respect as they greeted her. We got into an
elevator and went into arge door.
On stepping into the office, my jaw dropped at the decor of the room. It was huge with a big desk
at the center, and an office chair behind it. Two Hite sofas facing each other at the left.
But when I read the ss tag sitting on her desk. I froze in my spot and my jaw dropped to the
floor.
Madam Elena Lucas. Vice President of William Zee Fashion Industry.
"So why didn''t you get a pass? Where were you when the others met with the CEO?" She
questions, walking to her seat as she red at me.
"I..I was called by my sister to sort out clothes. I told her that we were asked to remain in the room
you asked us to stay in but she told me that the CEO wasn''t gonnae to work yesterday." I
exined truthfully.
There was something about this woman, an aura around her showed that she was a werewolf. An
alpha.
"You shouldn''t have left that room in the first ce." She said, a hint of irritation in her voice. And I
felt calm, I knew she was angry at me but I couldn''t feel any hatred rolling off her towards me.
"He will be in his office soon. When hees, I''ll send you to him. You''ll be going with his coffee,
that is the only way for you to meet him again after missing your chance yesterday." She announced,
standing up anding to meet me.
I stumbled backwards as my eyes widened in fear.
Going to meet him in his office? With his coffee?
Oh no! Not his office. And definitely not coffee again.

Serena''s POV
"Are you listening to me?" Elena''s voice boomed and I shook my head, snapping out of my
thoughts.
"Yes. Yes ma''am." I replied. She pointed at the door once more, ushering me out.
"You can wait outside. I''ll be out soon."
"Ok."
I sigh in relief, resting my head against the wall outside.
"You can sit down here." A voice called from behind me, and I remembered the face. She was
Elena''s secretary. I had seen her a few times yesterday with the vice president.
I watched as she went to her desk just beside the Madam''s door, she raised her brows at me and I
muttered an ''Oh'' before taking a seat just opposite the door.
Unannounced, my mind wandered to the Alpha King. How was I going to face him after the
ident yesterday? Surely, this time he would fire me on the spot as he was distracted yesterday.
Or should I just decline Elena''s request and just try another method?
There was no other fucking method! My mind yelled. But what if I made the same mistake from
yesterday?
I''m panicking! Calm down Serena!
And after twenty more minutes of fighting with myself, as the secretary gave me strange looks,
Elena finally came out of her office, and I stood up too quickly, she raised her brows at me.
"What? Scared?" She asked, a little hint of amusement in her tone.
"Ye- yes." I answered, rubbing my arm nervously. I heard her chuckle before speaking again.
"You should be scared. He is the king. Everyone is afraid of him. You have to be extremely careful
around him lest you get yourself into trouble." She said to me and turned to her secretary who rose in
respect.
"Get me the files for the models." Then she turned back to me. "Stop that. Calm down and listen to
me."
I stopped rubbing my arms and paid attention to whatever she was going to say next.
"Mr Zed likes his coffee ck and at exactly 70 degrees temperature. No milk. No sugar. No
vours. His cup is the ck one at the top of the cupboard. She instructed and I nodded obediently.
The coffee wouldn''t be a problem as I was an exceptional coffee maker, with four years experience
at the coffee shop downtown. The main struggle would be serving him.
All I could pray for right now would be for him not to recognize me from yesterday, because that
was the only way to avoid getting fired today.
Moon goddess. Please don''t let him remember me. I silently prayed.
"Run along now." She finished before turning back to her secretary who had pulled out a file and
was handing it to her.
"Thank you ma''am." I muttered before walking down the hallway, and all the while I could feel her
gaze burning into my back. When I turned to the elevator, I finally released the breath I had been
holding.
After a few minutes of going from floor to floor, not wanting to talk to anyone because of the way
they stared at me. The ident from yesterday must have spread through the office.
I finally found the Kitchte and started with the coffee immediately. I made sure the temperature
was perfect, and everything was in ce.
I ced the coffee on a small tray I had found, took a deep breath and left the kitchte. After
asking a few people for the CEOs office, I finally made my way to the other side of the building,
avoiding the curious stares I got from other coworkers.
I was extra careful this time to avoid a repeat of yesterday. Thest thing I needed was making the
same mistake twice in a row.
As I stood in the cold elevator, the coffee in hand, my heart rate started to pick up as I watched the
numbers count to the very top floor.
Mr Zed''s office was at thest floor of the building giving him the space he deserved. I breathed in
as the elevator ding, alerting me I was at my destination.
With shaky hands, I stepped into the floor, finding the only door in the hallway and walking
carefully towards it.
I noticed someone standing at the entrance of the door, and though his back was to me, I knew
who he was. He was the man who had been with Me Zed yesterday, distracting him with a phone call.
He might not know, bue he saved me yesterday. A tiny smile broke from my face as I approached
him, he turned abruptly at the sound of my footsteps.
I felt the power surge from him as he stared in confusion at me. From the aura he bled. I could only
assume he was a Beta, a Beta to Mr Zed, the Alpha King.
I watched as his bored eyes drifted to the coffee in my hand and he raised a brow at me.
"You are the one serving him coffee?" He asked, and I nodded too quickly in response.
He sighs, stepping away from the door, but not before turning the door knob and ushering me
inside.
"Be careful not to offend him." He advised, before nodding his head at me.
My heart rate picked up again as I stepped foot into the office. Immediately, an overwhelming
scent hit me, as I felt the temperature drop. A strong, powerful aura filled the room and I almost ran
back out in fear.
I heard the door close behind me causing me to jump a little in fright and I thought I heard the Beta
chuckle outside.
I nced around the room. It was freaking huge! With ss walls that reflected the beautiful city,
white ceiling with a huge chandelier dropping from it.
A huge desk sat at the center with a MacBook, and various files over the desk. There was also a
chair behind it and a throne shed in my mind.
I noticed a head just above the neck of the chair and I almost gasped in fear.
He is here! He''s freaking here!
Of course dumbass, this is his office. I almost yelled at myself.
I started to grow nervous, my knees grew weak, and my hands became unsteady, the cup dangled
left and right a little.
And despite the room being cold, I started to feel hot, confused and scared. What should I do?
Should I just drop the coffee and leave? Or just run out immediately?
The power radiating off him was enough to make me bow in respect.
I walked carefully towards his table, feeling his power surge around me and dropped the coffee on
his table before standing awkwardly behind him. His back still to me like he hadn''t heard me.
I think I should just leave. I thought, and maybee back when he was in a better mood.
Because despite him having sharp senses, he still hasn''t said a word to me or acknowledged my
presence.
I took a step back, keeping my eyes on his back turned to me. Then I took another, nothing
happened. I almost smiled, maybe he truly hadn''t noticed me, now I could quickly leave and no one
would notice.
I was some at the door, just a few more steps, I was happy, d I was leaving his presence. A
smile broke out of my face.
"Stop. Get back here."
I froze, my smile fell, my heart stopped and my eyes widened at the sound of his voice.
This was it. I was going to be killed today.
I carefully looked up, my hands shaking and my knees almost buckled in fear. But he wasn''t
looking at me, instead his cold gaze was focused on the coffee on his desk, and I almost breathed a
sigh of relief.
His extended his fingers to pick up his cup, and I shivered in anticipation. What would he think of
it? Would he like it? I started to shake.
He brought it to his lips and took a sip. My breath left my throat. There was a nk look on his face
and I wasn''t sure if he liked it or he didn''t. But I noticed something sh across his face like relief but it
was gone before I could read it.
He dropped down the cup and I waited for him to say something but he didn''t. His gaze still didn''t
leave the cup,pletely ignoring me
There was an awkward silence between us and I wondered what to do next. Take the cup away
with the coffee still in it? Leave after he has called me back? Or say something?
I decided to do the first, and slowly reached for the cup, he still didn''t say anything and I held the
cup, then started to pull away when his eyes turned to me.
I shook immediately, the cup sliding from my hand and tumbling across his desk, the content flying
out and sshing over his desk, a few files and then his suit!
Not again!
His eyes widened as he shifted backwards a little, looking at the mess I made before his eyes fixed
on me with a cold deadly re that sent shivers down my spine.
I quickly found my tongue.
"I am sorry. I am so sorry." I started, watching him stand up muttering a ''Shit'' and ignoring me once
more to face the door.
"Adam!" He called, his voice boomed with anger and disgust.
The door burst open and his Beta walked in.
"Your Highness." Adam walked in, ncing shockingly at me and at the mess before walking to his
Alpha.
"I''m so sorry. I didn''t mean to." I pleaded, my eyes staring to well with tears.
The temperature dropped once more, and I almost started suffocating with the aura change
around me, I could feel his anger rolling off him in waves.
I had wronged the Alpha. Again!
"Order for a new suit now! Also get cleaners toe clean this mess off my table!" He ordered
and Adam bowed a little before starting to leave.
"Take her away with you. Let me think of a benefitting punishment to give to her. I''m sure she is the

lowlife who wasted her coffee on me yesterday." He said, turning away from me in anger.
"Oh, I''m so sorry," I cried again, fear starting to run down my arms as I dreaded the punishment
that woulde after.
Adam walked back to me. He picked me up from the floor like I weighed nothing before dragging
me out from the King''s office.
"I warned you to be careful around him. You, a werewolf, should know better not to offend him."
Adam hissed, ring at me as I cried silently outside the office.
But I said nothing in response as he continued to drag me down the hall and into a room, pushing
me in it.
"Behave yourself and don''t even think of escaping." He warned before mming the door shut,
leaving me in the empty room.
I started to sob loudly this time. I felt so stupid, so clumsy. I just couldn''t get anything right.
Even the voices outside the door proved me right.
"Oh, I wonder what that one did for her to enter that room." A voice said pitifully.
"I pity her." Another one said, and I cried harder.
"She looks like that girl from yesterday. I knew the CEO wasn''t going to let her leave."
"There goes another soul. He might end up killing this one. Everyone could feel his anger. She
must have pissed him off badly." A girl said.
"Stupid girl."
I heard some more words directed at me, but I couldn''t do anything. He was going to kill me, no
doubt about that. This was the end of the road for me.
I guess I could try to be happy, after all, I was going to meet mom in heaven.
I finally stopped crying after hours, and my back started to hurt after sitting on the floor for so long.
My eyes were red and puffy.
As I started to stand, the door opened to reveal Adam, who walked in quickly and grabbed me,
dragging me out of the room.
This was it. I was being taken to be killed.
"Stand up straight. You don''t want to keep the Alpha waiting, do you?" He asked and I took efforts
to walk properly beside him, not wanting to prolong my death sentence.
Adam led me back to the Alpha''s office and I felt the deadly aura once more as he pushed the
door open.
Mr Zed was standing just in front of his desk and Adam pushed me forward, stepping back from
his wrath. I whimpered as his frown turned into a smirk, a mischievous amusement glinted in those cold
eyes of his.
I almost took a step back in fear but I was too frozen, too scared to move, my eyes snapped to my
feet in submission.
I could smell his cologne because of how close they were to each other, and I felt nervous.
My blood ran cold when I felt his fingers in my face, pushing my head up, so my eyes found his.
He smirked, as I vibrated underneath him.
"Little wolf, for your mistakes. You are gonna work as my ve from now onwards, agreed?" He
said, and I gasped slightly.
His ve?
Confusion filled my face. What do ves do? I wanted to ask, but he might have known and
smirked crossed his face and I quickly nodded.
Amusement filled his eyes as he took a step away from me, his touch left my face and I almost
sigh in relief.
"Go home and pack your belongings for you are no longer a free born but my ve now." He
finished, walking to the window and ignoring me once more.
I couldn''t refuse him. He was my Alpha. My king and my superior. His words were
absolute.
Chapter 4 Leaving her home
Chapter 4 Leaving her home
THE CEO ALPHA KING
Writer''s P O V
When Serena got home, she couldn''t stop thinking how she was now a ve for such a stupid
mistake. Not just any ve. But a ve to the Alpha King.
As she pulled open the door, she couldn''t sense anyone in the house, it was better. No one would
witness this her walk of shame. How would she even exin to her family that her clumsiness had
finally put her in trouble.
Quickly, she ran to her room to pack her things. Her clothes were old and worn-out, but she didn''t
have any other ones. She pulled the rest of her things into her only box.
With teary eyes, Serenaid on her bed, folding up herself in a circle and soon fell asleep.
She woke when she started to hear voices downstairs, as she stood up, rubbing her sleepy eyes
she made her way out of her room.
On reaching the kitchen she found Kate and her stepfather making dinner. The table was filled with
various dishes and she wondered what the asion was.
"Kate." Serena called out to her sister who was going about, setting the table.
"Oh, you are awake. Come and sit down, it''s your goodbye dinner. I personally asked my father to
be present for you tonight." Kate said, dropping a set of cutleries before facing Serena who stared at

her with wide eyes.
Goodbye dinner? Did she hear what had happened at the office?
"Is your ve sister awake yet? Oh..there she is." Her stepfather walked into the dinning room,
dropping a tray of barbecue sauce and a bottle of wine on the table, a smile on his face as she watched
Serena.
Of course Kate had heard what happened and had bbed to their father. That was what this
whole dinner was about? A goodbye to her being a ve?
"Sit down Serena," Kate ordered, taking a seat just beside our father who was at the head of the
table.
Serena sat, this was starting to get embarrassing. Of course this was something that could
happen. Her family happily sent her to death itself.
"I thought it would be nice. Making a farewell party for you, not that I''m actually concerned with
what happens to you. I''m sure he''ll kill you or sell you out in a few days time anyways." Kate said while
cutting her steak.
"Hmm, you really do love your sister." Their father said, smiling as he poured down a ss of wine.
But Serena couldn''t utter a word. She was too shocked, too tired and too sad to say anything. She
wanted to cry but tears wouldn''t juste out.
"Why on Earth did my mother leave you to meet Serena''s father?" Kate asked her father suddenly
just for the sake ofughs.
"Simple. Lolita was stupid. She was blinded. She stupidly left me for an ugly looking monk,
iming he is her fated husband or whatever. I care less, all I care about is you my darling." Kate''s
father replied, ying along while pinching Kate''s cheeks.
"Dad please. She is still my mother but if she hadn''t left you then I trust that she''ll still be alive and
well. If she hadn''t left you, she wouldn''t have gotten pregnant with her ugly husband and gotten
pregnant with a child who killed her at the end. It''s so sad." Kate replied, throwing a piece of food in her
mouth while eyeing Serena who hadn''t even started eating.
"It''s so sad that the child you brought to life took your own life. I hope mother has learnt her
lesson." Kate added, smirking now.
It wasn''t until a drop of tearnded on Serena''s te she knew she had been crying, she felt
Kate''s fingers on her cheek, wiping off the trail of tears behind.
But the expression on her face was far from remorseful. Everything she had said tonight had been
on purpose, to make Serena feel like a piece of trash. As usual.
"You haven''t touched your dinner, why is that?" Her stepfather asked, feigning concern.
Having enough of the game of fake pity, Serena stood up abruptly to leave.
"I think I''ll go to my room now. Thanks for dinner."
"Try to stay alive there, at least for a month. We won''t be seeing each other anymore and we won''t
be bonded by anything because you are now a ve and I can''t be siblings with a ve." Serena said,
before Serena could climb the stairs to her room.
But she was met with silence as Serena ran up the stairs, mming her door shut and jumping on
her bed, before letting all the tears she''s been holding back fall freely in her pillow.
The next morning she woke up, she checked her phone realising she had a text from a strange
number.
"I''ll be picking you up by 700." She read out loud and she knew just exactly who it was from.
She nced at the time and had a few minutes to get ready. Rushing to the bathroom she went
about her business and just at exactly seven. She was in an oversized matching shirts and trousers
A car horn alerted outside her window and she knew he was here. Mr Zed, the Alpha King must
have sent a driver to get her, because he sure wasn''t going toe himself.
With shaky legs, she grabbed her box and started for the door. There were two bulky men standing
at the entrance of the house. One was a human and the other was a werewolf.
On reaching the door, they took her luggage and headed outside where a ck SUV was waiting
for them. Her luggage was carefully kept in the car booth and the door opened for her.
But in that moment of hesitation, she looked back at the house. She might have thought Kate or
her step father would havee down to bid her good-bye or apologise for being mean. Even if it was
fake, she just wished there was someone waving at her.
Blinking back tears, she got into the car, and it started to move out, driving her out of the ce she
once called home.
As the journey continued for hours, she started to wonder what life she would have from now on.
What would she meet in her new home? A home where she would now be a ve?
Time passed and soon they were stopping a very huge estate. About twenty men in ck stood
outside a big ck gate. Serena noted all of them to be humans
The gates opened and after driving a few minutes, they came across another, and then another.
The security this time werewolves.
After letting them in, a huge mansion came into view. It was painted in white with a lot of windows
peeking out of the exquisite building. There was a fountain at the very center of thepound.
As they drove past the fountain, they stopped at a huge garage. And Serena couldn''t count how
many cars she found there. Different models but the same color, ck. There was a limousine, a
Ferrari and she knew she saw a glimpse of a Bugatti.
Of course, she expected nothing less from the CEO of the top fashion industry, an Alpha not just
an Alpha, but the King of Alphas.
The doors opened and the werewolf spoke. "Come on." He said, as the other one took out her
luggage.
Serena followed him, her eyes darting around, taking in the beauty and thevishness of the
Alpha''s home. As they reached the door of the house, it opened before the werewolf could press the
doorbell.
An older woman stepped out with wide grey eyes that stared at Serena.
"Oh, is she the one?" She asked the guard, not letting her eyes off Serena.
"Yes." The werewolf said, and the human dropped her things before bowing and leaving her with
the strange woman.
"What is your name child?" The older woman asked and Serena blushed.
"It''s Serena ma''am. Please forgive my manners, good morning." She bowed slightly to show
respect but the older woman put her hand on Serena''s arm, ushering her inside with a smile on her
face.
"Ok,e on, child."
She picked her box, following the woman. The inside was beautiful and there was a huge spiral
staircase at the center and she was led to it.
"Wee, let me show you to your room."
They climbed the stairs, passing a huge sitting area with a TV the size of a cinema screen. There
were a few expensive vases in the hallway. A few paintings too and Serena couldn''t take her eyes off
each and everything she saw.
Everything looked expensive and ssy. She grinned as they came to a stop at a ck door.
"This will be your room, child. Well, until the King says otherwise." The older woman said.
"Thank you ma''am," Serena bowed, smiling widely. She had thought that since she was going to
be a ve, she would most likely be sleeping in a dungeon or cage.
"Oh, there is no need for such respect child. I am only here to do the work assigned to me." The
woman announced, pouting a little.
"I will have one of the servants show you around after you have rested and of course eaten." She
finished before squeezing Serena''s arm and walking back the same way they came.
As Serena touched the door knob, a wave of excitement rushed through her and she pulled the
door open.
A gasp escaped her lips as she looked around the beauty of the room. A huge poster queen bed at
the center, a walk-in closet at the left. A dressing table at the right and a really huge window that
overlooked the estate.
Leaving her box at the entrance, she went to sit in the bed, feeling the softness and the quality
covers under her fingers.
A small sofa sat at the foot of the bed and she noticed another door just beside the walk on closet.
Probably the bathroom.
Going around to inspect everything in the room, a knock came in, cutting short her little tour.
"Ye..yes?" she answered, walking to the door slowly.
"I am here with a message." A male voice sounded from behind the door.
"What is it?"
"You will have to first open the door. I am not here to bite. I promise." The voice replied to her and
a shiver of fear ran down her spine as she headed for the door, opening it to reveal a male. Definitely a
werewolf, and from the power oozing of him she knew he was a Beta.
He was handsome with ck long hair, and dark green eyes that held amusement as he ran his
gaze down Serena.
"Chill. I can hear your heartbeat from here. I''m just here because grandma Felicia told me to
"Ok." she mumbled suspiciously. "What do you need?"
"My name is Isaac and I am also a servant here. We could be friends if you''d learn to stop being
scared." Isaac smirked and it did nothing to calm her down but she raised her brows in response.
"I am here to show you around." He added and when Serena said nothing, he rolled his eyes.
"Come on, I really don''t have much time. I have things to settle." Isaac beckoned her out this time
and she followed, closing her door behind her.
"Don''t worry, I''ll escort you back here in one piece." Issac chuckled.
There was something about him, something quite off, but she couldn''t put her finger on it as she
followed him down the hall.

The kitchen Isaac led her into was bigger than her whole apartment put together. With machines,

and utensils around that she could barely recognize, it was all overwhelming.
She hadn''t even realized she was way behind Isaac admiring everything around her until she
heard his voice from ahead of her.
"Come on now, go on to the dinning." He was saying to fourdies and two guys who wore
matching uniforms and appeared like maids or kitchen assistants.
She noticed that thedies had their eyes fixed on her as she was new in the kitchen. She
suddenly started to feel out of ce.
But none of them made her feel ufortable as the one with red hair whose dark eyes red
silently at Serena.
"Is she the veing? Our master''s new ve I mean." The red haired girl asked, leaving the
line to walk towards Serena who gasped in shock as being addressed as a ve so openly.
"Yup, guess she''s the one but that doesn''t matter now. Granny Felicia asked for her to be treated
specially, and first you''ll have to make one of your delicious meals for her." Isaac replied the red haired
girl who now stood a few centimeters away from Serena as she watched her for a few more seconds
before turning back to Isaac.
And as she smashed her lips to Isaac''s, Serena gasped in shock, looking away quickly as the kiss
deepened. A huge blush stained her cheeks immediately.
"Come on Isaac, you should at least show the new girl some respect." One of the two guys said
while walking to the couples and gently pushing them apart from each other.
"I''m sorry darling, but you''ll have to sit at the dinning while Betty here makes you something to
eat." Isaac said to Serena, smirking at Betty who was eyeing him like a piece of steak.
She went to the dinning and the other girls and thest guy who couldn''t stop staring at her joined
her. She almost coughed at the awkwardness around them.
Not that they were admiring her. Serena wasn''t dumb, she recognized the look they were giving
her. It wasn''t different from everyone else.
"Jack, let''s go." One of the girls called the guy standing up and waking out of the kitchen, the
others following closely behind her.
Leaving her alone, she sighed looking back at Isaac and Betty who had started another make out
session. She groaned angrily.
Perfect. Not only was she hungry, they''ll make out all over her food.
After enduring forty minutes of make out session one, cook, make out session two, cook and so
on. Betty finally ced a tray of food in front of her before walking out.
"Come on love, eat it." Issac encouraged walking to Serena with a ss of water that he dropped
right beside her te.
She finally nodded, digging into the bowl of pasta, and in a few minutes had an empty te in front
of her
She wondered how Betty could make out and cook something so delicious.
"I know that look. Her cooking is perfect, isn''t it?" Issac asked taking away her te to the sinc.
"You can talk to me. If you keep being mute, I can assure you that I''ll be the only friend you''ll have
around here. And considering the fact that you are a ve you won''t be getting out of the castle ever
again," Isaac added, ing to sit back opposite her.
"Yes." She finally said. "Thanks."
"Now, that does the trick love. Come on, let me show you around the servants quarter first." Isaac
stretched forth his hand towards Serena but she didn''t take it.
However she followed him out and the next three hours they looked round the mansion, well
mainly of the servant quarters.
"Tomorrow, I think I''ll take you on a tour inside the castle. That''s of course if the King permits it."
Isaac spoke as they returned back to the kitchen.
Finally seeing an opening, Serena asked.
"Where is the king? I haven''t seen him." She mumbled so quietly and felt stupid after. It probably
didn''t make sense asking for the man who enved you.
"Trust me. You''ll get tired of the king soon enough. You might be dreaming of spending time with
him. Everydy in LA dreams about that too but darling he is cruel." Issac started.
"He hates being arounddies too. No one knows the reason why so you have to be very careful
with him."
"It''s not that." Serena said quickly, almost blushing to the tip of her ears.
"Then what is it? Don''t tell me you are eager to serve him. Thest female ve he had hanged
herself when she pissed him off. She was scared of the evesting punishment he was gonna give to
her so she took it upon herself to die peacefully."
Serena froze. "I...how..." She started to say, but couldn''t find herself making meaningful sentences.
"Love, let''s just go."
Isaac took Serena back to her room before leaving to report to granny Felicia. And as she busied
herself with unpacking her clothes to her closet and Isaac words ringed in her mind, she couldn''t help
but think she really wanted to stay here.
Night came and Isaac came to pick Serena for dinner.
"I''m here again. It''s dinner time. It''s also time to meet everyone. Including the King." Her heart
skipped a bit at the mention of his name and she grew nervous.
Isaac noticed. "Yeah, I understand your fear but I''d like you to put your fear aside. At least tonight
he won''t ask you for anything, probably you''ll start working as his ve from tomorrow. Now that is
when you are allowed to get scared." He said and it did nothing to soothe Serena who''s knees grew
weak.
Stepping back to the dining room, she met the rest of the servants. There were about eight
females and twenty-five males. She figured it was because he didn''t like females.
Her heart grew uneasy before she spotted grandma Felicia at the head of the table.
"Betty, have you served the king his dinner?" Serena heard ask, before her gaze found Serena
and she smiled.
"Yes ma''am." Betty replied from beside Serena, a hint of pride in her voice.
"Come here, child. Come have a seat." Grandma Felicia called, patting the empty seat closest to
her and Serena blushed from the attention.
As she sat down, she couldn''t help but feel like she was being treated specially. But today was
only her first day, of course it was a tradition to treat people nicely the first time.
"So, here today with us is a new face. Introduce yourself, child."
Serena swallowed nervously, keeping her eyes on the table to avoid the curious looks everyone
sent her way.
"I- uh. My name is Serena." She answered shyly.
"And you are the King''s new ve. What did you do to offend the king?" Betty asked first, folding
her arms across her chest.
It offended Serena to be asked that, but as she opened her mouth to respond, grandma Felicia
beat her to it.
"Betty, you should learn how to be amodating. Please you shouldn''t behave that way to her."
The older woman interjected.
"As time goes by, we''ll get to know Serena and Serena will also get to know you all well."
"That''s if she is going tost here. With the way her heart jumps at any little thing, I fear for her
life." A buff looking blonde guy spoke from the back. His eyes watching her in a silent pity.
"Charles, you don''t have to be so rude. Ignore them, child, please let''s eat." Grandma Felicia once
again scolded and they went about dinner.
Midway through the meal with talks and discussion flying around, Charles stood up abruptly and
whispered something in the older woman''s ears before leaving and arriving almost immediately.
"Um..Serena or what is your name? The king sends for you." The whole room became silent and
you could hear a pin drop. And Serena''s heart skipped a bit, she nced at Grandma Felicia to see if
she would say something to save her.
"Go on. Don''t ever keep the King waiting, be careful around him too." The older woman said,
earning a few nods from everyone else.
Serena knew she was alone in this, with shaky legs, she started to get up only to be interrupted by
Isaac who had been quiet the whole meal.
"Oh, I guess I should take you there." He stood up and came to stand by her side.
"No...I''ll bring her, Issac. Continue with your meal," Charles disagreed, starting to walk out of the
dinning.
She wished it was Isaac with her, she was already gettingfortable around him. She badly
wanted him to argue and insist but he only smiled sadly, taking his seat once more.
Sighing deeply, she followed Charles out of the servant quarters and to the other side of the
building.
As they arrived at a main entrance, she found two Beta''s guarding it.
The familiar scent of power and danger hit her hard, and she knew the Alpha was behind those
doors. Her heart picked up a beat.
The Betas let them through as they walked inside the building, and into arge dinning room
where they found Adam and two other male servants. And beside him was the Alpha.
"Your Highness, she is here. I''ll take my leave." Charles bowed, leaving immediately.
She felt the temperature drop, her knees bing weak, palm sweaty. His aura was stronger in
his home than at the office. Everything in her screamed in terror of what to do next, her inside
threatened to open up, her knees grew weak and it wasn''t until her knees hit the floor hard did she
realize she had fallen in submission to the King.
"Go make me coffee." He groaned his back was to her so Serena couldn''t see his face. His words
shook her very core and she rose up as quickly as she had fallen.
"Yes, your Highness."
"I''ll take you to the kitchen." Adam stood, escorting her out of the room to a kitchen opposite the
dinning. It wasn''t as big as the one in the servant quarters but it was big enough.
With shaky fingers, she started making his coffee just the exact way she knew he liked it. And just
after she finished, she held it carefully in her hand before heading back to the dinning to serve the
Alpha.
"You might want to calm down before you pass out from fear." Adam chuckled, trying to lighten the
mood, but it did nothing to ease Serena''s tension building around her shoulders.
They got back to the dining and she dropped the cup gently on the table before backing away as
quickly as possible.
It was another five minutes before he turned to them, his gaze fixed in the coffee as he took it to
his lips. A frown came upon his lips and Serena''s heart skipped a bit.
"Did you poison it?" He asked suddenly, and Serena blushed, waving her hand in front of her.
"No! No!" She spoke quickly and nervously.
Poisoning the Alpha would be thest thing in her mind. Besides, rumour has it that he couldn''t be
killed.
"Hmm, I perceive a different fragrance from thest time. An added ingredient?" He asked, and
she could feel anger rolling off him in huge waves as she took a step backwards.
"Yes, I..I..added a very rare ingredient I saw in the kitchen, your Highness. It''s just to make the
coffee perfect." Serena replied honestly, her knees feeling like it would go out any moment from now.
"Come closer then." He ordered.

Chapter 6 Rules
Chapter 6 Rules
THE CEO ALPHA KING
Writer''s POV
Serena found herself being pulled towards the king by one of the guards, of course they would fear
for their great King. They all thought the same thing, I might have poisoned the Alpha.
She let them, because after all, she hadn''t done anything wrong. They watched as the Alpha
poured a quantity of the coffee into another cup before offering her to drink.
Was he seriously not going to trust her words?
"Drink." He ordered, leaning against the chair and offering her a smirk.
She leaned forward with shaky hands grabbing the cup and taking a sip out of it.
She knew she shouldn''t be shaking but she couldn''t help it, despite being innocent. As she drank
the rest of the content, she could feel his amused eyes watching her deeply.
She pulled away the cup from her lips to see the smirk still visible in his face as he rested deeply
into the chair.
There was something powerful in the way he stared at her and she couldn''t help but shiver,
rubbing her arms in fear of what might happen next.
After waiting for more than ten minutes with nothing happening, the Alpha took his cup to his lips
once more, but Adam, his Beta interrupted before he could take another sip.
"Your Highness, what if the coffee is truly poisoned and is set to kill slowly?" He asked and Serena
resisted the urge to roll her eyes.
"Then she''ll be dying first." The King replied cockily, his eyes sparking with amusement as a deep
chuckle reverberated from his chest.
This was the first time she saw him chuckle and it did him really good as his grey eyes sparkled
with interest.
He took another sip, and satisfaction crossed his face before he downed the rest of the drink
before dropping the cup on the table.
One of the men set out to clear it up but he dismissed him with a wave of his hand.
"Let her do it." He said, his piercing gaze not once leaving Serena who wanted to run and hide
from those cold grey eyes.
With shaky legs, she reached for the cup and saucer, before bowing slightly and turning away,
heading for the kitchen. All the way, she could feel the Alpha''s intense stare boring holes into her back.
Surprisingly, she met another female servant there who beamed at her. Her heart fluttered, happy
that at least this one wasn''t meant like the others.
"I''ll take it from here." Thedy said, taking the cup from her. She scented that the person was
human. How odd.
After taking the cup from her, thedy didn''t move back. Instead she locked her gaze with Serena
as if trying to see deep into her soul and Serena started to feel ufortable.
It wasn''t until Serena took a cautious step back she turned away, heading to the sink to wash the
cup, humming to a rhythm she could hardly recognise.
She stood there awkwardly, not knowing what to do next, either to help her out or just leave.
"Serena." She heard Adam call to her and quickly left the kitchen to meet him.
She followed him out of the kitchen, back to the dinning. The Alpha wasn''t there but his scent
lingered.
"Sit down." Adam ordered before bringing out a note. He ced it in front of Serena as she sat in
front of him.
"You are to read and understand the rules guarding this castle and you are not to break them."
Adam said.
Rules? Serena almost asked but Adam spoke again.
"The three most important rules are. One, once you see the king, you must show your respect to
him. I see that you don''t know how to acknowledge your King and I wonder why he lets you go for that.
"Not acknowledging your king is a serious offense. Your mouth could be sealed forever since you
don''t know how to use it properly."
His words shook Serena to the core and she nodded respectfully. Of course she didn''t know how
to acknowledge the King because she was always frozen in fear. This was the first time she was ever
encountering an Alpha.
She was usually frozen in fear or ready to spew out rubbish that could get her in trouble.
"The second rule is that you must not stare directly at the king whether he is speaking to you or
not. He is not your mate, he is over a century old if you are not aware of that." Adam said, eyeing
Serena whose jaw just dropped to the floor.
Over a century? He was that old?
She knew that he was far older than that. And news about him circled around themunity about
how he murdered an entire family years ago long before she was born. How he had extra powers,

powerful ones that could kill hundreds of wolves at a time.
She guessed the rumors were true then, he was truly terrifying and she started to regret ever
making him angry.
"Andstly, you must not get on his nerves. You mustn''t anger the king as angering him will only
get you killed. And not only you, It will get hundreds of innocent people killed. Do you get that?" Adam
asked sternly, breaking her train of thought as she widened her eyes at his words.
"Ye..yes, I understand." She finally nodded in fear.
"Now, you should study the rest of the rules guarding the castle if you want to live long. Also learn
how to control your fears, keep them at bay as they will only get you into deep trouble which will cause
your life or more."
"Yes. Yes," Serena answered and Adam offered her a smirk.
"Good." He stood. "So, tomorrow, very early. You will start your duty as the king''s ve."
"A ve is very different from a servant. The king might order you to move over here to his castle
because you are his ve. A ve can be demanded to do anything."
"For example, satisfying her master''s sexual needs. Arranging his bed every morning and night,
dressing him up before he leaves for an important event." Adam smiled at Serena''s difort.
Sexual desires? She froze. She couldn''t do that! No way!
"You can meet Grandma Felicia to exin the rest to you. You can leave now, you''lle back
very early tomorrow before 6.00am." Adam concluded, before offering her a dashing smile and leaving
the dinning.
Satisfying the king''s sexual needs?
She stood up, thinking about it when she saw a figure waiting outside the door for her. It was
Charles and they both walked in silence, thoughts of pleasing the Alpha rang in her head.
"Let''s go, I''ll take you back to your room." He said coldly after a while and she thought she got
confused by the simr hallways and doors, they finally arrived at her room.
He started leaving and Serena followed him from behind. They walked quietly until they got to her
room. It was hard identifying which one was hers but Charles did it.
"Thank you." She muttered, opening her door and walking in. Just as she was about to close it
Charles''s voice stopped her.
"Look Serena or whatever your name is. You gotta control your fears whenever you are around the
king so you won''t end up dying just like hisst ve did. I''m not saying this because I like you. I simply
don''t want to witness anymore cruelty from the king." He said, and for the first time she found out
through his scent that he was an Omega. But she knew he was strong.
And she discovered that anger rolled off him when he spoke of the Alpha. Had the alpha hurt him
in the past, he didn''t wait for her to reply as he walked down the corridor. Leaving Serena with a
hundred questions running through her mind.
She went to her bed, deciding not to bathe tonight as she thought of what Adam had said. She
remembered the piece of paper that contained the rules. But deciding not to read them tonight as sleep
started to overtake her, she quickly set her rm for 530am.
As she covered her body, taking one of the pillows and clinging unto it, her mind drifted off to her
sister and stepfather.
***
A sound rm woke Serena as she groaned, picking up the phone and shutting off the sound. She
almost went back to sleep but Adam''s words resonated in her ears.
Immediately, she shot up from the bed, opening her eyes to see it was 546am already.
"Shit!" She cussed, running to the bathroom to brush her teeth and wash her face before changing
out of her yesterday''s clothes and running out of the room in a loose fitting gown.
"Fuck!" She said as she bumped into Isaac who had been standing in front of her door.
"I was waiting for you." He said, taking out his hand from his pocket.
"Oh."
"Let''s go, it''s almost time. The king will soon wake up." He said, walking off leaving Serena to
follow behind him.
When they got to the mini mansion she saw the Betas standing at the door and wondered if they
slept at all.
The whole castle was already busy with servants running here and there going about their duties
for the day.
"Matt, you can take her from here." Isaac said to a guy who was very muscr. He was a werewolf
with an eternal scowl on his face.
"Follow me." He ordered Serena who jerked at his rough voice.
"I''ll see youter, love." Isaac winked at her, urging her to follow Matt. She did.
They walked in an awkward silence up the stairs and came to a huge hallway. There were two
guards standing just outside the only door. And she figured it was the King''s room.
"Is he awake?" She heard Matt ask one of the guards who shook his head.
A sigh of relief escaped her lips. She was early.
"Ok, I''ll leave her with you." Matt said, ncing briefly at Serena before walking off without another
word.
No word of advice?
She turned back to the guards who stood at their post, their eyes ahead as they paid no mind to
her. As she rested on the wall, she started to hear movement from the Alpha''s room
"He is awake." One of the guards whispered to the other and she shifted ufortably, not
knowing what to do.
The door opened immediately and the guards bowed in submission.
"Morning your Highness." They both chorused.
Feeling nervous, she bowed also and mumbled a ''good morning'' too. And just likest night, her
knees buckled as they hit the floor.
She knew he had done that, making her submit to him and since he didn''t do the same for his
guards she could only guess it was because of his hatred for the female gender.
It was a warning to her that he was superior over her.
He left his door opened and went back to his room totally ignoring them.
The two guards straightened back up and nced at Serena who was already rising to her feet.
"What?" She asked suspiciously.
"Go on in." One of them said and she gulped visibly before stepping into the room of the Alpha
King silently praying she did nothing wrong.

Chapter 7 The King''s personal ve
The CEO ALPHA KING
Writer''s POV
Serena walked into therge bedroom of the king and couldn''t help but admire its beauty. Just like hers, there was a huge king sized bed at the center of the room, a door at the right to a walk-in closet whose door was opened to reveal rows of suits.
Huge silk drapes fell from the high windows, blocking out the morning sun. A working table was just at the left side of the room in front of a shelf that ran from one end to the other of the room.
Everything was mostly in shades of ck or gray, just like his cars and she didn''t need anyone to tell her those were the Alpha''s favorite colors.
She heard the door shut behind her and all excitement died down as she remembered why she was even here in the first ce.
Her eyes found the Alpha who had stood, watching her admire his room with silent amusement.
But his eyes portrayed no emotions, they were such a cold shade of grey. They held power and danger so she looked away.
"Go prepare my bath." He ordered, walking to his working table, ignoring her once more.
She quickly ran in the opposite direction, towards the door. As usual, the bathroom was huge with a big bathtub and two shower heads. She found his various bath gels and picked thevender.
When she finished, she left the bathroom and went back to the room.
"Your Highness." She started but he interjected.
"You are not my subject. You are just my ve. I am your master and not your King." He said sharply and she dropped her gaze in submission, nodding slightly.
The sound of removing clothes brought her attention back to him and she looked up to see he was undressing in front of her!
She watched as he took off the bed shirt, letting it drop to the floor, exposing his abs. She blushed, looking away quickly, her cheeks tinted red.
His skin was so pale and it glittered under the chandelier. She peeked at him once more, noticing his strong arms and wide chest. She looked away as soon as he started pulling at his shorts.
She heard it drop to the floor, and her ears turned red. He was naked!
She fiddles with her fingers, eyes on the floor and not knowing what to do as she stands there awkwardly.
"Grab me a towel." He ordered, and she ran quickly to the bathroom and took his towel before going back to him. Her eyes fell to the floor as she extended her hand to him. Her eyes quickly ran down his lower body.
A gasp escaped her lips and she blushed harder than before. Boy! Was he big down there.
He was powerful in all areas! She thought.
He took the towel and she stepped back, he tied it around his waist and she finally looked up at him. He was ring at her, before looking away and walking to the bathroom, leaving her in silent admiration of his back. They flexed as he walked.
He soon disappeared into the bathroom and a wave of disappointment flushed over her.
"What are you doing standing there?" A powerful voice sounded in her head and she gasped in shock.
That wasn''t her wolf, she had no connection with it. It was the Alpha! That voice was authoritative and powerful. And if he hadn''t seen the Alpha enter the bathroom she would have thought he was speaking to her right there.
Though Serena knew wolves could speak telepath, she had never once experienced it before as it was mostlymon with Alphas, and she was merely a beta.
"Get in here!" He shouted over her head this time and she was almost tempted to yell in fear. Instead she ran to the bathroom, seeing him sitting in the bathtub. The towel was gone, and his naked frame sat in the tub.
"Wash my hair, and be quick about that." He ordered again, his lips still not moving. She shivered, grabbed the shampoo, and poured a little over his head.
She went into the bathtub, feeling the cold water hit her feet and legs. His dominating aura made her shiver a little but a little groan from him made her act quickly.
She reached for his hair, and stopped, expecting him to yell or flinch at her touch. But there was no response from him so she started to run her fingers through it.
His hair was softer than it looked, silky as it ran freely across her fingers.
She scooped up water from the tub, and poured it over his hair and started scrubbing it once more. She thought she heard him sigh in relief and she rxed a little, finally happy she was getting this right.
Because thest thing she wanted to do was to make him angry so early in the morning.
After she was done, she reached for the shower head, turning it on and rinsing off the soap from his head. She sighed in relief as she started to rise, her work finished.
"Wash me." His deep voice echoed through the bathroom walls, stopping her in her tracks.
She flushed red. Bath him?! She started to chew at her bottom lip.
"After that then you can do what you intend."
No. No. I couldn''t do this. What if?! She started to shake her head, dispersing all bad thoughts from clouding her mind.
"Did you not read the rules?" He asked, breaking her train of thought. "You should know what and what not you are supposed to do by now. Or should I borate further?" He turned to re at her.
She didn''t dare meet his gaze, looking away instead. "No, I know the rules." She lied through gritted teeth.
He said nothing and stood in all his glory, towering above her. She blushed, looking away quickly to pick up the sponge and soap.
She was scared scrubbing him down, her touch not lingering on sensitive body parts, her eyes lowered in submission.
She pulled away to get more soap when she slipped a little and he grabbed her just before she could fall on the bathroom tub. She exhaled deeply and continued.
After washing him and drying him off, she reached for his towel and dried him off as quick as possible before he walked out to his room to get dressed.
She followed him out, noticing an outfit had been brought out for him and wasying in the bed. He ignored it, walking to his mirror and standing just in front of it before sitting down. His hair dripped down his back trailing inside his towel wrapped around him.
She went to him, not waiting to be told to dry off his hair. Finding the hair dryer, she plugged it in and got to work.
Once his hair was dry, shebed it and applied a hair cream on it, the scent of all his products were amazing.
He stood up when she was done, grabbing his clothes and getting dressed in a ck suit. Serena was a little relieved and disappointed that he hadn''t requested her help.
As she watched him, she couldn''t help but notice how totally strong he looked. His parents must have been extremely powerful for him to inherit such power.
Something shed in her mind and she started to grow conscious. If he was so powerful to infiltrate her mind and speak to her, couldn''t it be possible that he could also hear her thoughts?
She nced at him as he put on his shirt paying no mind to her. Even if he did read her mind there was no sign that he did.
As she stood there awkwardly, she wondered what else she should do. If she was already done with her job, why wasn''t he sending her away? Am I not done here? Please I wanna leave before I suffocate here with the thought to herself. She started to feel the urge of his power, suppressing her and she shifted from one foot to another having no thoughts to distract her from his overwhelming aura.
She started to feel ufortable as she looked up to see him staring at her. She coughed awkwardly, and he took a step closer to her.
What was happening? Why has he done this time? She wanted to ask but couldn''t find it in her mouth to move.
And as usual, his superiority showed, bringing her to her knees once more, tears started to glitter around her eyes.
"Really? You feel like suffocating here. Being around me is scary, isn''t it?" He asked, voicing out her thoughts. She gasped in surprise, she was right. He could hear her thoughts!
Serena could only gasp. She couldn''t utter a sound. It was as if the power to speak has been taken away from her.
Her hand went to her throat and she held her throat. She can''t believe she is choking on nothing but she is really choking. She is losing her breath and might pass out at any moment.
No! She might even die.
"Answer me!" He thundered at her and she abruptly stopped choking. He might have released his hold on her throat however he did it.
"No! No master! I''m so sorry," she apologized with her head hitting the cold floor.
She became so scared.
What had she done? What thought crossed her mind that he had read and gotten pissed?
He took a step closer to her and she was half tempted to scuff away, but she felt too weak to move. He tried and she could only whimper in fear as he drew closer.
"Next time, you should know your ce. Control your silly thoughts little wolf!" He emphasized every word before ring once more at her then walking off leaving her alone in tears and on the floor.Content provided by N?velDrama.Org.
She shivered in fear as she thought of what she might have done wrong shed across her face. Thoughts on how he could have done anything to hurt her more than he did. He could have killed her if he chose and there was nothing anyone could do about it.
She felt something tickling her nose and took her fingers to it, drops of blood touched her fingers and she gasped at the sight of it.
Rising to her feet immediately, she ran to the mirror, noticing blood stains all over her dress.
Panic struck her as she sprinted to the bathroom to wash it off but it kept flowing and worse of all, she couldn''t feel any pain. So why was she bleeding so randomly?
She ran out of the Alpha''s chambers leaving a tissue paper over her nose so she did not stain the floors. The guards didn''t utter a word to her, and for that she was grateful. She just couldn''t talk to anyone right now.
She couldn''t stay here any longer, the Alpha''s aura was suppressing her too much and she needed to get away.
But leaving the castle back to the mini mansion was harder than she thought. With familiar hallways, art works and rooms she was lost and soon came to the kitchen, not once seeing the entrance door.
She stopped in her tracks when she saw a familiar figure in the kitchen. It was the girl from yesterday, the human who had been staring awkwardly at her.
"Hey," The human called out, shing her a dimpled smile.
"Hi, please can you help me get back to the mini mansion?" Serena wasted no time in asking, not wanting to spend another minute in the frightening castle.
"Of course. My name is Emi." She smiled softly and extended her hand to Serena who took it too quickly and looked around, desperate to leave.
"I''m Serena." She replied, forcing a smile on her face and she shook Emi''s hand.
"Nice meeting you sexy. Now, let me help you. But you''ll owe me one." Emi winked, leading the way out of the kitchen but Serena didn''t mind, all that filled her mind was the thought of finally leaving this ce.

Chapter 8 Meeting him
Writer''s POV
As she found the mini mansion, Emi left, reminding Serena that she owed her one.
Emi was weird, because she liked Serena. It wasn''t that liking her was wrong. But when you''ve
been hated by almost everyone you havee across, you start to find it weird if someone likes you.
Emi also made her ufortable with the stares she gave she gave Serena. She couldn''t quite
put a finger on the emotions the look she dissipated and she didn''t want to ask and make it more
awkward than it was supposed to.
As Serena made her way through the mini mansion, she saw Grandma Felicia who was talking to
two servants. And as she finished, she turned them away tiredly, before smiling when Serena came to
view.
"How was your first day working for the king dear?" She asked, shing a toothy grin.
"It was okay ma''am." Serena said, not wanting to go into details of what had happened with the
king in his bedroom.
"Okay dear, you must be hungry. Whenever you are hungry, you can either tell me Isaac. You can
even go into the kitchen and make something for yourself if you please. Now go to the dinning, join the
others to eat breakfast." Grandma Felicia said and her stomach grumbled at the mention of food.
She just realized she had been in a hurry to leave and hadn''t waited for breakfast.
"Thanks ma''am." Serena responded, walking off to the dining room. There were four guys only,
and Isaac was one of them. She was a little d that there weren''t any girls around, they gave off a
different vibe and Serena felt ufortable in their presence.
"Hey darling, you must be done with your duties for now. Come sit beside me." Isaac called,
waving his hand at her.
Shyly, she went to him and took the empty seat at his left. The other guys spared her a nce but
said nothing as they returned to their phones and meal.
As Serena nced around the kitchen, her stomach rumbled in hunger Isaacughed. "Someone
wille through with your breakfast. Don''t worry much, so how was your first day with the king? Or
literally in the king''s bedroom?" He wiggled his eyebrows at her.
Serena blushed in embarrassment, the way Isaac had said it made it look like she had done
something other than bathe him. And even the other guys chuckled.
"I. Ugh. Nothing." Serena said, stumbling over her words, fixing her hazel eyes on herps. She
could feel them grinning in amusement.
"Come on, hope you didn''t piss him off? Did you hurt your nose? Why is that tissue stuck in
there?" Isaac said, pulling her face upward, as worry clouded his features.
She pulled out the tissue, earning horrified looks from the guys who were eating. She mumbled s
sorry before wrapping it in her hand to throw awayter. She was d the bleeding had stopped, no
wonder grandma Felicia hadn''t noticed.
"I can see that you''re shy. No need to be shy around me, love." Isaac grinned, leaving her face and
she bowed her head once more.
"Oh...yeah, Serena. On a serious note, you and I are heading out of the castle today for grocery
shopping. I''ll be taking you with me so prepare yourself after breakfast." Isaac announced making
Serena lift her eyes to stare at him in shock.
Before she could express her gratitude a female servant walked in, keeping a tray of food in front
of Serena. She mouthed a thank you at her but the girl walked over to Isaac and he kissed her in the
lips.
As she giggled and left, Serena raised her brows at Isaac. Was he also dating her as well as
Betty? She was confused. But Isaacughed, and said nothing to clear her confusion.
Digging into her meal, her mind travelled to the events that had happened today. And she quickly
downed her food, enjoying the discussion Isaac had with the guys.
She finally retired to her room minutes after to bathe and get dressed for shopping with Isaacter
in the day.
She found the note with the rules and sat on her bed, reading it.
Everything she was supposed to do on a daily basis was written here.
"Wow!" She breathed out after going through the rules.
Was she really supposed to bathe the king when he asked? She wondered. Getting her emotions
in ce would have to be the first step in pleasing the king. She couldn''t allow a repeat of what
happened today. Also she needs to keep her thoughts away from him.
"Serena baby, I think you should take a bath now. I''ll being back to pick you." Isaac called
from outside her room and she grinned, hoping into the bathroom soon after.
After scrubbing down her body and cleaning her nose, she went through her dresses and found a
blue summer dress with white petals as design. She pulled her hair up in a ponytail checking herself in
the mirror before walking out of the room.
Isaac wasn''t waiting outside and she wondered where his room was.
How was he going to know she was ready? She wondered before deciding to wait in the dinning for
him.
On getting there, she met a guy sitting alone. He had sandy brown hair that fell past his shoulders.
She took a seat far away from him and concentrated her attention on one of the vases that was
painted in silver.
"Are you waiting for Isaac?" The guy spoke for the first time, and Serena turned to him, nodding
vigorously.
"Okay, I''ll tell him." He said, before leaving the dining room.
A few momentster, she felt a presence behind her and she turned to see Isaac walking hand in
hand with another female servant. A flirty smile on his face as he nced at his phone totally ignoring
what the female was saying.
She didn''t take her eyes off him, boring holes into his head, he finally looked up smiling at her and
tucking his phone away before turning to the girl in his hand.
"Ok Be. I''ll have to go now sweetie." Isaac nted a kiss on her forehead, but she pulled him
back engulfing him in a deep kiss before pulling apart and walking away.
But not before she red at Serena, swaying her hips as she left. Serena wondered why she
would react that way. Was it because she would be leaving with Isaac to the store? She wasn''t sure.
Isaac sensing her worry, came over to her, extending his right hand to Serena.
"Don''t mind her, let''s go." Isaac said but Serena didn''t take his hand, instead she stood up and
they both started walking to the entrance of the house.
"Okay. Okay, I understand." Isaac mumbled. But Serena paid him no mind as she started to grow
nervous as he pulled open the door.
Was she really allowed to leave the castle? She made to ask as they walked to a ck Jeep
waiting outside for them.
Isaac held the door open for her and she started to chew on her fingernails as she got in. He
mmed the door shut, walking all the way to the driver seat and stepping in.
He nced at Serena worriedly and said nothing, starting the car, they started to drive out of the
castle.
She noticed the guards once more, and thevishness of the estate. They drove out, and into the
street. She sighed, finally seeing civilization again.
She didn''t realize how much she had missed the wind in her face, the sun burning down against
her, or watching people go about their business.
They finally pulled to a stop in one of the city''srgest malls. She blushed, realising that she had
been there before but not for shopping reasons,or hanging out either.
Issac shuffled his hand in his pocket, before taking out a small piece of paper that looked like it
had a list written in it.
"So, the two of us are gonna do this real quick." He said, opening the door, and getting out. Serena
didn''t wait for him to open her door, as she got out and stood beside him. He pressed a button in the
keys and the car made a beep noise.
As they walked into the mall, the memories of why she hade here in the first ce resonated
in her head. She hade to apply for any vacant position. So desperate she was willing to take any
post even as a cleaner. But they had turned her away.
She didn''t know why either, but she had guessed it was because she was so ugly.
She followed Isaac down the aisle taking out a hand cart and headed to the foodstuff aisle. He
read items off the list and Serena had to pick them out, shuffling them into the cart.
Despite shopping for groceries being a chore, she couldn''t help but feel happy as they talked
about random things, andughed all the way.
She started to feel veryfortable around Isaac, there was something about him that made her
feel so herself, like she could trust him.
And finally taking a break out of the estate felt like the best gift she could ever ask for. Throughout
today, she had been practicing holding down her emotions. So that when she stood beside him he
couldn''t feel the fear inside of her.
They kept shopping for groceries, going around the shopping mall. Laughing and talking about
random things.
Serena couldn''t ask for more. Part of her was happy that she finally got to leave her house, the
people she called her family and found a friend at the king''s castle but part of her kept reminding her
about the king''s temper.
The smile dropped from her face, she wasn''t sure she could do it. For years, she had always
doubted herself in everything. But right now, she felt worse, scared for her life, scared of displeasing
the King.
But right now, right here, she was grateful, the least she could do was enjoy shopping however

"Hey Serena right?" She turned at the familiar voice from behind her.
It was the blonde guy from thepany, one of the interns, who had helped her up when she had
fallen after spilling coffee in the Alpha king.
"Yes. Hi," Serena replied shyly, tucking a bang of her ck hair that had fallen out of her ponytail.
She felt Isaac turn to watch them.
"You know him?" Isaac asked suspiciously, raising a brow at her.
"Yes." She replied, and the blonde guy nodded also and Isaac sighed.
"Okay, I''ll leave you two. We are done with the list anyways, meet me at the counter." He said
before walking out in the opposite direction.
Serena watches him go before turning to face the blonde guy.
"I''m Martins. I never really told you my name." He said scratching the back of his head.
"Yeah. It''s cool." Serena replied, not knowing what to say. She was never one for conversations or
small talks.
"Okay. Uh. Is that your boyfriend?" Martins pointed at Isaac who just turned the corner,
disappearing from sight.
"No." Serena blushed, answering too quickly. "He''s a friend." She said truthfully.
"Woah." He sounded surprised. "Here I was thinking you had no friends. I didn''t know you had
such cute friends. So you got fired from the king''spany?" He asked.
"No..no, not like that. I never really got in anyways, but you won''t be seeing me there," Serena
replied, feeling a little sad that she never really got a chance to work at such a huge recognized
"Oh, I''m so sorry about that. I was thinking about us being friends, but turns out I won''t be seeing
you there anymore." Martin said, his gaze lowered with sadness.
"Yeah, you can give me your number right?" Martin suddenly asked.
"Yes, yes," Serena quickly agreed. Taking his phone and typing her number in it.
"Alright, I''ll call youter then." Martin smiled and left but she didn''t see the evil glint in his eyes
and the smirk over his face.
She blushed in excitement. She couldn''t believe that Martin had asked for her number, he was so
handsome and wanted to be her friend.
Finally meeting up with Isaac, they finished up and drove back to the estate.
"So, who is he really? You look happy seeing him," Isaac asked, emptying the foodstuffs on the
table.
"Um..who?" Serena tried ying dumb, a huge smile on her face.
"That guy at the mall. Is he your crush?"
"He is, he is your crush. Don''t even try to hide it." Isaac said, not even giving her a chance to reply.
She buried her face in her palm and heughed.
"Well, he is really handsome but not as handsome as I am though."
This time she lifted up her head to stare at him. "You bet." She rolled her eyes.
"Oh, see you defending him. That means you really like him. How did you meet him? He doesn''t
seem to know about your current situation."
She told him how she met Martins and felt super proud she had a new friend.
Isaac smiled. "Then he must be a great guy then. You can see him when we go grocery shopping.
I want you to see outside more." Isaac promised.
"Thank you."
"For what?"
"For everything. For making me your friend, for allowing me to speak with him, for promising to
take me with you every time." Serena said.
"It''s nothing, love." He smiled at her.
She remembered when they had checked their car at the security post whileing into the
castle, and she frowned. Their actions puzzled Serena.
"Why do they keep searching us even though they already know we work here?" She bluttered
out.
"Yeah. You can''t be too sure. This is the king''s castle. Security has to be extremely tight here."
Isaac answered and she shrugged.
Chapter 9 Crushing on him
Chapter 9 Crushing on him
Serena''s POV
As we unpacked everything we bought, the other servants, noticing we were back came to help us
and by the time we were finished, I was tired and retired to my room.
It wasn''t hard finding it as I had carved an ''S'' on my door with my room key. The hallways were
also starting to get really familiar and I could locate my room with ease
I opened the door and threw myself on the bed, closing my eyes in bliss, the mattress was so soft
andfy. I started to slip away from reality when my phone buzzed in my pocket.
With sleepy eyes, I took it out, not recognizing the strange number that shed against my screen.
I hardly ever received any calls, especially from strange numbers.
I sat up, concerned as all the traces of sleep vanished from my eyes. My phone continued to ring

and I contemted picking it. I thought it might be Kate, but she''ll never call me with a new number and
my stepfather rarely ever calls me.
So who could it be? I wondered as the phone went off. I sighed. Maybe it was a mistake. I tried to
go back to bed when my phone rang again, the same number.
Curiosity finally won as I picked the call and ced it on my left ear, waiting for the person to
speak first.
"Hey Serena. It''s me Martins, have you gotten home yet?" Martin''s concerned voice sounded over
the phone.
I mmed my palm against my forehead, remembering I had given Martin my phone number
earlier today.
"Oh, Mart, I''m so sorry. I didn''t know it was you. I could have picked it up earlier." I apologized.
"No problem, S. I''m d you at least picked up. Are you home now?" He asked and I nodded
before remembering he couldn''t see me.
"Yes. I am, thanks a lot for asking. This is your personal number right?"
"Yes, it is. I just wanted to make sure you got home safely." He sounded concerned and I blushed.
"Thanks a lot. I appreciate it."
"Yeah, S. I''ll chat you upter then. Bye for now, pretty." He said before ending the call.
I dropped my phone, took my pillow and pressed my face against it blushing like crazy.
Did he just call me pretty? Am I pretty? I sat up once more jumping down from my bed to stand in
front of my full length mirror.
My ck hair hade out of my ponytail, falling freely over my small round head. Hazel''s eyes
stared back at me. I was incredibly skinny, nothing special and my ears were a little too big.
But despite that, someone had said I was pretty. That means I was actually pretty because he
wouldn''t just lie right?
Would other people start noticing I was beautiful and start liking me too?
I jumped excitedly around the room, feeling a sense of pride and happiness.

Chapter 10 Scared
Writer''s POV
There was a sickening silence in the room and it didn''t help that the younger Alpha had an evil
gleam in his eyes, as he patiently waited for the Alpha King to give his response.
Why was he doing this? Requesting for her like some sort of object.
There were thousands of chefs that he could afford but he had chosen Serena? He didn''t have
good intentions; she was sure about that and the smirk on his face proved it.
A wave of fear rushed through her and she shivered under the cold air as she could possibly think
of better coffee makers than her. Hell, there was even a coffee maker machine!
So why was he trying so hard to get her? There was nothing special about her, not her coffee.
It was another four minutes before the king spoke.
"You do know what ves are, Den. ves know their masters more intimately for ages. They
know most of their secrets and it wouldn''t be good if those secrets are let into the open." He said, his
voice thundering above everyone.
"Do you have another agenda for demanding the only ve I have. I''m starting to wonder." He
continued, pinning the Alpha who had been referred to as Den, with a deadly emotionless stare.
Den''s smile was wiped off immediately as he stared with confusion, and a hint of anger.
"No...no...my lord. Of course not." He stuttered, not expecting such a response from the King.
"So, what then? If not for the act of discovering all my secrets by taking my ve. ves are
bound to their masters but it seems you want to destroy that bond and create yours." The king said,
reading every emotion that betrayed the young Alpha''s face.

From confusion to anger and then to remorse. Those weren''t his intentions, he quickly looked to
the Older Alpha for help who sat beside him and had been quiet since the conversation started. For he
was speechless.
The Older Alpha stood up with a small smile on his face, his eyes darted from Den to the King.
"My lord. Your Highness." He bowed a little. "I''m sure Den here doesn''t have that intention. But I
would love to apologise to him on your behalf." He exined and Den nodded vigorously in
agreement.
"Leave this room. Wait for me in my chambers." The Alpha King said, not sparing her another
nce.
Was he trying to protect her? Did he really not want to give her up to the younger Alpha?
Was he really that possessive about the things he owed?
She thought as she walked back quietly into the Kitchen.
There was no way for her to leave this castle, ever. He would go through any length, decline any
offer so she could be stuck here forever.
She sighed, dropping the empty tray on the counter just as she heard a voice behind her.
"Hey." She turned, there was a guy, a new face staring at her. He had a straight face, dark brown
eyes and wavy ck hair.
"I thought the king asked you to leave for his chambers. You want him to get to his chambers
before you?" He asked with seriousness and she shook her head.
"No..no. I just don''t know my way around here yet. I am waiting for someone, I need someone to
take me." Serena answered.
"Come on," the guy said. He turned and left the kitchen, leaving Serena to follow him.
As they walked down the hallway, she thought of when she would never get familiar with the
hallways and rooms they passed. It might take a while because everything was soplicated and
looked the same.
By the time they arrived at the hallway to the King''s Chambers she could see the guards ahead,
the guy left her almost immediately after saying she was on her own now. She muttered a ''thank you'' to
him.
She walked shyly to the guards, who turned to her at the sound of her feet scuffing the floor.
"I..I..want to pass, the king--" She started to stutter but the guards pulled away from the huge
doors, letting her through.
"Go in." One said and she nodded quickly, entering the dark room, the door shut behind her, taking
away the little light that came with it.
She continued walking into the room, her hands in front of her, frantically searching the room
blindly for a switch.
As she walked, he heard soft movements, making her stop in her tracks.
"Hello?" She called out but no one answered. Maybe she hadn''t heard well and it was just her fear
getting the best of her.
She continued looking for the switch when she heard another noise from her left, she gasped and
turned to it.
"Hello?" She asked fearfully.
Her heart thumped loudly in her chest, and she stepped back, flinching when her back hit the cold
wall behind her.
Who was there? She wanted to ask but fear pushed up her throat as she started to shiver. The
room got colder or maybe it was the spirit of the former ve who hadmitted suicide, and had
Her mind burst into chaos and she slid to the floor, covering her face with her hands and pushing
her knees up her chest.
But why would the spirit hunt her? She wasn''t the king, couldn''t she see that!
The footsteps got louder and she covered her face in fear, shaking visibly as the footsteps got
closer and turned to two and four.
"Oh.. please, oh please.." She started to plead to the supposed spirit.
**Back at the sitting room.
The cold look on the king''s face melted away as amusement filled his eyes, a suppressed smirk
trying to break out from his face. But he couldn''t help it, a softugh escaped his lips.
The two Alpha''s turned to him, surprised he could show any other emotion other than anger and
irritation.
But they couldn''t figure out why?
As they exchanged worried looks, the Alpha continuedughing, not having a clue of what was
going on.

When Betty walked into the dinning, there was a huge grin on her face.
"I just heard that your little y thing got into huge trouble with the king. The king had asked for
her to be taken to the sacred room." She said, smiling mischievously.
"What? The sacred room?" Isaac, who had been washing the cups, looked up at Betty.
"Yes. It''s funny. The king loves torturing a lot, you should probably teach the little girl how to
behave around him." Betty chuckled before walking off.
Isaac was annoyed, he left the dinning to look for Grandma Felicia, he searched everywhere for
her but found her in her bedroom.
"Come in, Isaac." He heard her say behind closed doors, he pushed the door slightly entering the
room that smelled of herbs and trees.
"So, what is it? You look worried." Grandma Felicia who had been knitting looked up at him
worriedly.
"It''s Serena. She is in trouble with the king. I heard he ordered for her to be taken to the sacred
room. You know how her heart jumps at everything, I fear she''ll die in there before the king thinks of
bringing her out from there," Isaac murmured.
Grandma Felicia smiled, dropping her knitting needles and staring up at him.
"You care about her?" She asked.
"Of course. She...I''ve told you what I feel about her grandma. The first time she stepped in here, I
had that feeling that I knew her from somewhere and you granted me the permission to find out. What if
she is really my sister? I won''t let her die before finding that out." Isaac grimaced, flopping down in a
seat opposite the older woman.
"Yes. Indeed, you can''t let her die. She won''t die though, all the things that are happening right
now are supposed to happen, Isaac. You of all people should know that, calm yourself. She won''t die."
The older woman assured, taking his hand into hers.
"I just...I just want you to help talk to the king. He listens to you most times. Maybe he might allow
her out early." Isaac said, looking at her intertwined hands, and sighing deeply.
"I will try thatter." she said before focusing her gaze elsewhere, releasing his hand so he stood
up.
"I''ll take my leave now," Isaac said before leaving the room, as he walked down the huge hallways,
he came across Serena''s door.
cing a hand on the letter ''S'' he could only hope silently.
"You should survive Serena. You have to."
He drew back his hand sadly, walking outside the castle and memories of the first day they had
met shed in his mind.
Immediately the two guards, Sam and Drako arrived at the castle with Serena that day. Her scent
was the first thing that hit his nose. It was so familiar, it was mixed with two other stronger scents.
Scents that were foreign to him.
It was just like his father. The scent of Earth and rain. Isaac had known he had a sister
somewhere, but his father hadn''t told him until he passed away.
Knowing that he had someone out there, a family that he couldn''t reach out to broke him in a
million ways possible.
And upon meeting Serena, there was just this connection he could feel, this familiarity around her
and he wanted to know more. He remembered how he rushed to Grandma Felicia begging to be her
guardian for a couple of days. And of course he hadn''t told anyone else about his suspicions except
the old woman.
"Serena, if you are truly the sister I''ve been looking for, then I''m going to get you out of here. And
there are a lot of ways I can do that. I will make you a free born again. So you can''t die on me now." He
thought loudly, looking up at the bright sky above him.
"You heard? That the new girl you fancy so much is in the king''s sacred room right now probably
suffering from the effects of the king''s trick. Same thing he did to my sister that made her lose her mind
and murder herself." He turned to see Charles walking towards him.
"I don''t know why the king enjoys torturing people. It''s a shame your ything is going through the
same fate." He said sadly and Isaac frowned.
"She is not my ything, Charles." He replied angrily.
She might be my sister. Bloody hell! He wanted to scream out loud.
"Then join me, Isaac. If you really care about the girl''s life, if you don''t want her to end up like my
sister then join me. Let''s think of a way of ending this wickedness." Charles offered.
Calming himself, he looked up surprisingly at Charles who was serious about what he had said.
"Charles, you really need to let go. Forget about revenge, you''ll only end up in a grave. The king
can''t be killed. At least not easily, he has unknown powers. Just let go of your hate and leave this
castle." Isaac advised but Charles wouldn''t have any of that.
"No! I''m not leaving here without getting revenge for my sweet sister. She was so fragile yet she
died a painful death!" He yelled, shaking his head in refusal.
"Man, I''m sorry. But your sister ended her life with her own hands, she didn''t want to continue
serving the king. I''m sorry but that won''t be Serena''s fate. I''ll make sure of it." Isaac said leaving
Charles and walking back into the mini mansion.
It was another hour and still no word from Serena or the King. He rushed back to grandma Felicia.
"Come in, Isaac." Her voice sounded once more and Isaac pushed the door.
"It''s already been an hour and few minutes. Please go speak to him to let her go please. She has
to get out of that room." Isaac pleaded, his face clenched with worry.
Grandma Felicia sighed and stood up reluctantly.
"I told you she will make it. I don''t know why you are really scared. See your heart threatening to
pump out of your chest." She teased, walking out of the room with Isaac trailing behind
her.

Writer''s POV
Few minutester, Grandma Felicia was standing before the king in hisrge sitting room.
Both of his guests must have left because the room was empty save for the Alpha King who sat
still on hisrge chair and appeared to d in deep thoughts.
"My lord. Your Highness." Grandma Felicia bowed, showing submission to him. At first nce, the
scene looked wrong. An older woman bowing to someone who was old enough to be her son.
But they all knew the king was far older than anyone else. He had lived for years, and could be two
times older than the woman.
He looked like he would be in his 30s but he was for a fact more than a century old. It''s just like
they say, looks could be deceiving.
He lifted his eyes to Grandma Felicia who knelt before him, snapping out of his thoughts, he could
perceive Isaac fears sting through the walls from the other side of the room.
"Rise Felicia. What is it?" He asked, staring suspiciously at her as she shifted ufortably from
one foot to another.
"Um..your new ve. She doesn''t know your rules very well and she hasmitted a grave sin.
Please let her so I can teach her and she won''t make that mistake again." She pleaded, looking up at
the Alpha.
A dark smile, almost unnoticeable, curled up his lips.
"You know you have been one of the people I''ve known for years, Felicia. I''ve known you for so
long and you also know me." He started.
"I''m d you actually know me and you know I won''t release her to you. All I can assure you right
now is, that little wolf is fine." He finished, keeping his dark gaze on the older woman.
"I know that my Lord. And...I''ll take my leave now." She gulped, wanting to say more but scared of
how he would react. She turned, leaving the sitting room.
Just at the door, the king''s voice stopped her.
"I''ll release her to you soon."
A smile lifted up her features and contented she left the room.
She knew the king too well. And just like any other man in power, challenging him or pleading with
him would only anger him more. She knew this and that was the only reason shested in the castle
longer than anyone else.
She had seen a lot of servants fall. She had seen ves murder each other in fight for the king.
She had seen ves take their own lives too and yet shested, she stayed, oveing every fear
and following everymand.
She knew better than to disobey the king. She knew and memorized his rules every day and night.
Content provided by N?velDrama.Org.
She never questioned his judgement, and after years of that, they grew closer than any other servant
that had served him.
She would serve him with all her heart. She would be by his side. But also she would be here to
see his redemption. It was starting, she could feel it in her heart and she couldn''t wait to see the King
fall into it.
Happiness filled her heart, the whole n was working perfectly. Just like the moon goddess
wanted, exactly how she had predicted it.
"Grandma!" Issac called, walking briskly towards her, sweat covering his forehead in anticipation.
"Don''t worry dear. I''ve seen to it, the king doesn''t have intentions of punishing that child further.
You''ll be shocked at the end result of everything." Grandma Felicia assured, tapping his shoulders to
calm him.
But the words didn''t make Isaac feel any better than he was. He was worried and there was little to
nothing he could do. He sighed.
"Once she is out, I''ll ask her to follow me to the pack''s hospital. I need her blood or anything for a
DNA test. I need to know. I need to be sure." Isaac said.
Grandma Felicia stopped and turned to look at him once they were outside the king''s castle.
"If you are too eager to find out if she is really the one you have been looking for. Then go into her
room, you can find her hair or something. Just look for herb, use it and find out what you want to
find out." The older woman said.
Isaac''s eyes widened in realisation. "Yes. Yes. That''s right but don''t you think I also need her
permission in order to go through her things?" He asked.
"Do you? I''ll suggest you do all these secretly. It''ll be less painful to her if the resultse out
negative and she doesn''t know a damn thing about it. I know you will be able to handle the pain but
that child might cry over it for days. You have been kind to her so she''ll really feel bad about it."
Grandma Felicia advised, as they continued walking.
Isaac nodded in response, kissing her on the cheeks and shouting a thank you before running off
to Serena''s room.
*****
As soon as Serena stopped hearing the footsteps and sounds of the supposed spirit of the king''s
formal maid, she breathed out a sigh of relief.
She realized the room wasn''t as dark as it was anymore. There was no source of light and even
with her werewolf eyes, she could hardly see a thing. But now, she could see the outline of the bed,
and a few other things.
She didn''t know why, but she was d. The room was quiet and thought everything was normal
and she should be happy, jumping for joy. But instead lonelinessced her heart.
Loneliness had always been a part of her since she was born. Her sister never cared about her nor
her step father. And since she never got a chance to meet her real father, she had no idea what he
looked like either.
Memories of the past, her sad lonely life shed through her mind. One in particr, she couldn''t
forget. It was her high school graduation and no one came. She remembered every other student with
their proud parents beside them, taking pictures but to her side was no one.
Then she had made a decision to not attend college and no one talked her out of it because no
one cared. And though Kate was the only sister she had, only true blood rtive, she loved her.
Despite her horrible treatment towards her.
And even though it was dumb and unrealistic, she hoped that maybe one day Kate would realised
her ways and start caring about her.
But she was wrong. That hope was lost.
Kate hadn''t called her since she arrived at the king''s castle. She hadn''t checked up on her, not
once to know if she was alive or dead.
Maybe she really meant what she had said; that she will be no sister to a ve. Maybe she has
truly forgotten me. Serena thought sadly.
Tears filled her eyes and rolled down her cheeks before hitting the cold floor.
Crying had always been part of who she was, it seems like she temporarily forgot how to cry since
she got to the king''s castle. Or maybe it was because she had be friends with Isaac who had
always kept her calm and happy.
How I wish I had a big brother like him. The thought crossed Serena''s mind as she smiled sadly,
resting her head against her knee once more.
*****
Right outside the castle, Isaac ran into Serena''s room sweeping his hair backwards.
He went through her things and found a brush lying on her bed that had her hair in it, letting out a
small smile before bringing out a small white bag from his pocket.
He took out the hairs from the brush and shoved them into the small bag before dropping off the
brush.
As he ran out of the mini mansion, he bumped into his friend Kendrick at the door who staggered
backwards, looking up at Isaac with confused eyes.
"Yeah man. Where are you rushing to?"
"I''m so sorry but I have to go. If it turns out well you''ll be the first to know." Isaac replied to him not
waiting for him to utter another word. He ran to the Jeep, the one he uses to go grocery shopping.
As he drove out of the estate, the guards on duty asked him a lot of questions and he did a lot of
talking and convincing before he was finally let out.
Soon, he was finally out of the king''s castle and the estate. He drove to the nearest pack hospital
there. His hands were shaking nervously.
He jumped down from the Jeep, locked it before walking into the hospital to seek for a doctor.
Just at the entrance, a nurse attended and directed him to the doctor''s office.
In a few hours, he had dropped the hair and the process had started and the results would be out
in two days.
On his way home, his palm grew sweaty against the steering. His heart thumped unsteadily in his
chest and butterflies flew around his stomach.
He didn''t know what to think. He didn''t want to be too sure but at the same time he was sure.
When he got to the estate, a guard stopped him inquiring once more about his movements.
"I''ll get going now. I''m just feeling a little sick." He lied smoothly, before driving off, smiling proudly.

"Father, what happened? Speak to me." Martins demanded staring uneasily at his father who sat
calmly in his chair, an unlit cigarette between his lips.
"The king. It''s the king, I think I''ve got a weapon that I can use against him. I''ve been waiting for
one and I''ve finally gotten it." Martin''s father replied to him, smirking widely.
"Okay then. That''s good news, then why do you look so worried and what''s the weapon anyways?"
Martins asked, rolling his eyes in irritation before resting against his father''s desk.
"It''s a girl. His ve. His only ve, the one you have gotten her number." His father revealed and
Martin''s eyebrows furrowed in annoyance.
"Serena? How can Serena be a weapon, father?" Martins said, pushing himself off the desk to
pace around the room.
"I have seen it. There is one thing about that little girl, there is something in her that he wants. He
needs her, but first he needs her to be very loyal to him. I just have to find out what he needs in her. I
have to use it against him and you are going to y a big role making that happen." Martin''s father
exined, throwing the cigarette against his desk before standing up.
"Um.. things are still not making sense to me here, father. That Serena girl, she has absolutely
nothing that will attract the king to her. I saw it, the first time they met I was there, remember? She
bumped into him, spilled coffee on him and he went mad. It was Adam who kept him at bay because
most of the workers and guests were present that day." Martins exined, as he stopped pacing to
re at his father who was paying him no attention as he was thinking deeply.
"You don''t understand son and neither do I. There is something, a bond between them that even
the king doesn''t know about." The older man muttered after a while.
"They need to get closer for me to use her. Finally, all these years and the king''s weakness shows
up. Finally, I''ll have a way to destroy that arrogant king and I''ll take over his throne, his estate, his
beside him.
"And you my son, you are going to be a prince who will take after me. The most powerful king
ever."
"I''m not an Alpha, dad. I don''t think I can..." Martins started to say but his father cut him off.
"You can! You will. I will make sure of it and I will eliminate every obstacle, everyone who will stand
against us. Against you." His father vowed and Martins smiled, squaring his shoulders proudly.
"Thank you for that. I appreciate it."
"No problem. You are my son and our generations continue with you. Your mother ought to be
proud of us, Martins. Start making more preparations, the fall of the great king is near. We just need a
little bit of patience and everything will eventually fall in line."
"But father, you haven''t answered my other question. Why do you look so worried?" Martins asked
again, looking closely at his father whose smile fell.
"Because it''s not going to be easy. In order to achieve this, a lot of my men will have to die. And
the king is very smart. But I just have to outsmart him, beat him at his own game and this war would
turn out in our favor." Martins father started, walking over his desk to meet his son.
"Today I saw it, the way he looked at me made me think he knew all of our ns. I almost lost it
with his hard cold gaze on me like that."
"So, does that really mean he has unknown powers?" Martins asked, worry shing over his
features.
"I don''t know. I don''t believe it. It''s just his strong aura that makes wolves around him tremble and
nothing more." His father exined.
Martins sighed.
"Okay, I think I need to carry out my own part of the n now. I need to call or at least text Serena
to make her think I''m interested in her or something." Martins said, snatching the cigarette on his
father''s desk before leaving the room mming the door shut behind him.
He stood outside, lit the cigarette and dialled Serena''s number. She picked on the third ring

Writer''s POV
Serena walked into her room, feeling weak, exhausted and confused. Emotions clouded her mind
at once and there was no time to sort them out.
She doesn''t understand what had happened in the king''s chambers. Nor why it happened. All she
knew was that he asked her to wait there. Sheid on the bed, kicking off her shoes tiredly.
Her cellphone she had totally forgotten about due to the fear vibrated in her pocket.
Maybe it was Kate, she thought, digging it out her smile fell. It wasn''t Kate but a blush filled her
cheeks as her smile returned when she realized who was calling.
She picked up and ced the phone over her left ear.
"Hello." She said happily, lying on her back so she faced the high ceilings.
"Hi, S how are you doing?" Martin''s voice rang out from the other end and it vibrated through her.
"I''m good and you." She replies eagerly, waiting for his response. There was a little noise of
movements before he settled in.
"I''m cool. So how is tonight going? Have you eaten dinner yet?"
Serenaughed shyly, covering her face as if he could see her.
"Tonight... tonight is manageable." Sheughed. "And no I haven''t eaten, but I''ll eat soon."
"Oops, you should be quick about that or should I get you dinner and bring it over? Oh..oh I don''t
even know where you live." Martins said, chuckling at the end.
At the mention of where she lived, her heart sank.
She couldn''t possibly tell him she lived at the King''s estate, more less give him a reason that she
was his ve. She wasn''t prepared to tell him, not now and not any time soon.
She was silent for a while, before a sad smile curled her lips.
"Um.. Martins, you don''t have to worry about where I stay. Or about me. I''ll eat dinner soon. I
promise." She said, a tint of red staining her cheeks. Having someone care about her, asking if she
was ok, if she had eaten felt so foreign to her but at the same time filled her stomach with butterflies.
"Uhm, okay if you say so. I''ll believe you. I''ll give you a call tomorrow morning then. Just wanted to
hear your beautiful voice before bed. Do have a good night''s rest." Came Martin''s voice before he
ended the call abruptly.
Serena ced the phone on her chest, her eyes fixed dreamily on the chandelier glowing softly
above her. A satisfied smile on her lips.
How did this happen? How on Earth does he like me and care about me?
Just a few minutes ago, she was scared, crying for her life and all alone, locked up in the king''s
chambers in the dark until the guards suddenly opened the door asking her toe out.
She had dragged her tired feet back to the mini mansion after they told her the king was busy.
Grateful that she was finally out of there. The king''s chambers had been so different from before.
Or was it the king''s chambers? She thought
A knock sounded on her door and she bolted from the bed in shock, narrowly dropping her phone
on the floor.
"Dinner!" She heard someone yell before the footsteps faded away.
Serena stood up and rushed into the bathroom to shower and afterwards put on a loose night
dress and pulled her hair into a messy bun before leaving the room for dinner.
She got to the dinning where others were gathered and started searching for Isaac. Thest time
she saw him was during the day, when he came to inform her that the king was around and she longed
for hispanionship.
As she wondered if he was here or would he being soon she headed for the dinning table.
Settling on a chair, a little away from the others, she used her wolf''s smell to search for Isaac but no
trace of his familiar scent was around.
She looked at the others as they ate, ughed and talked. She didn''t want to ask any of them.
Afraid people might mock orugh at her, Serena had learnt the hard way not to ask people for help,
she stayed on her own after being called stupid or snubbed a lot of times.
And the only time she ever spoke with others was if it was urgent or inevitable. And as if on cue
someone spoke.
"Where is Isaac?" It was a guy, who sat at the other end of the table, eyes frantically looking
around for him.
"I don''t know. Thest time I saw him was when he was rushing out of the castle. I have no idea
what he has been up totely." Another guy answered dryly.
"Come on, Kendrick, you two are best friends. Call him."
"He might not tell me where he is. He has been acting a bit offtely." Kendrick answered, throwing
a piece of food in his mouth nonchntly.
"Oh..you two haven''t been on good terms?" The first guy who asked about Isaac spoke. His eyes
sparkled with interest.
"Nope. That''s not it. We are cool, he is just keeping things from me, things he is supposed to
share. He has been keeping it to himself or probably telling someone else." Kendrick said, suddenly
turning to Serena who gasped when the other guys faced her too.
She forcefully peeled her eyes to her te and started to eat, heart thumping in her chest praying
they didn''t say anything to her.
"Hey Serena, or what''s your name. Where the f¨¹ck is Isaac?" The voice she recognized as
Kendrick asked loudly, and all heads turned to her as all the chatter died down.
"I..I don''t know." She muttered, shifting ufortably in her seat, feeling holes burning into her
skin.
"You don''t know? How is that possible, considering you guys have been really closetely? Heard
he took you along with him to get groceries for the house. Is he gonna take you on the next one too?"
Kendrick asked, his voiceced with anger directed at Serena.
"Come on. She doesn''t know, she was busy getting tortured by her mind in the king''s sacred room.
How is she to know the things happening outside that door?" Betty chipped in mockingly and Serena
turned to them.
Betty had just walked into the dinning, tray in hand, taking a seat opposite Kendrick.
As Serena furrowed her brows in confusion at Betty''s response. She couldn''t think of the meaning
of those words, all she wanted to do was leave.
Without another word, she stood up abruptly from her seat, and started to run out of the dinning,
her stomach grumbled in refusal but she was already running out when she mmed into a figure.
She lifted her eyes to see Isaac standing in front of her, he touched her shoulders and she
breathed in a sigh of relief before brushing past him.
"You know what you did wasn''t so nice, Kendrick. I am not lost, I''m not a kid and I don''t need to tell
you about every damn thing that goes on in my life, do I?" She heard Isaac say to Kendrick.
"Well, if you say so, Isaac. But remember you said those words, don''t forget them." Kendrick
warned, growling threateningly.
"C¨¹nt," Isaac mumbled but of course everyone in the room heard him.
He paid no mind to them as he ran after Serena who was already mid way towards her room.
Serena turned to look at Isaac, tears already filled her eyes and were threatening to fall at any
moment all she had to do was blink.
"Hey, I''m...I''m sorry about that." Isaac apologized, eyes softening when she blinked as tears rolled
down her cheeks.
"No, it''s okay. It''s not your fault." Serena forced augh, wiping frantically at her face before
continuing walking towards her room door.
"Yeah, Ken, is a dickhead. He can be annoying most times but he is my best friend around here.
Just ignore him for now, he is saying all those because I''ve not been telling him things. He is scared we
might grow apart because I''m keeping things from him."
"Oh, so he is jealous of me, is that what you are trying to say?" Serena stared at him in question.
"Kind of. Yes." Isaac responded and Serena chuckled in disbelief.
"No one has ever been jealous of me before. I like that."
Isaac chuckled, following her like a dutiful puppy.
"So, how have you been? And can you follow me to the hospital next tomorrow?" He asked.
Serena paused, then turned to look at him in confusion.
"I''m fine. Sure, but for what?" She asked.

"For something important. How was your stay in the king''s chambers today?" Isaac asked,
diverting her question even though he knew the answers to thetter.
"Scary."
"Yeah. I bet it was. The king alone is scary, talk more of the things he owns."
Serena scoffed.
"But luckily for you, tomorrow and the next, the king won''t be in. He left for something important a
few minutes earlier, so you''ll be free tomorrow and the next." Isaac said
"Wow! Really." Serena looked at him in disbelief and a smile on her face.
"Yes" Isaac nodded.
She squealed, punching the air in excitement before they stood in front of her door.
"I''ll bring your dinner to you. Don''t worry and stay put." Isaac said before turning away from her
and heading down the hallway.
She watched his retreating figure with a huge smile on her face.
Two of them were enough. Two guys who really care about me. They are all I''ve ever wanted,
Serena thought.
*****
"So why wasn''t Grandma Felicia at dinner?" Serena asked Isaac. They just finished having their
dinner in her room but they are currently standing in front of the mini mansion''s door staring at the full
moon.
"I don''t know. She needs her rest, I guess." Isaac shrugged.
"Okay. Where were you earlier then?"
"You''ll find out, but not today." Isaac answered, and she pouted.
"Okay, so how old are you?" Her next question surprised Isaac as he snapped his head towards
her.
"It''s surprising. It''s been so long someone ever cared to ask, I don''t even think I remember my age.
Maybe 25?" Isaac said, looking back at the moon lost in thought.
"You are guessing?" Serena chuckled.
"Yeah. So what are you? How old are you?" Isaac asked.
"I''m 22. Will be clocking 23 soon. Have you met your mate?"
Isaac''s eyes darkened before they turned to their original color.
"I..I don''t think it''s something I wanna talk about." He responded.
"Oh no, I''m sorry. I''m so so sorry, I''m so stupid. I shouldn''t have asked, I got so excited that
someone was opening up and replying to me, I went overboard. I''m sorry." Serena apologized.
"Come on. Can''t I tell you a no? I don''t mean for you to feel bad. I...I''ll just tell you some other day."
*******
A day passed and they finally started to head for the hospital. They got into the Jeep and were
soon driving out of the estate after persuading the guards to let them out.
Isaac felt really nervous. For the first time in his life he wasn''t sure what was going to happen if the
results came out negative. He also wasn''t sure what he was going to do if he found out that Serena
was not his sister.
He had grown fond of her and even though no one liked her. He hase to love and adore her
simply because he suspects that she is his long lost sister.
Serena sensed Isaac''s extreme nervousness but wasn''t really sure what to do. Isaac has refused
to tell her so she was confused and didn''t know what to do.
She saw him tremble against the steering but said nothing as they pulled over in front of a hospital.
She could smell a lot of wolves in there and figured it was the Pack hospital.
"Wait here," Isaac said to her before jumping down from the car.
It took Isaac a lot of courage for him to walk into the hospital before he went in search of the doctor
who ran the DNA test for him and Serena.
He met the doctor attending to someone else and waited. By the time he was done, the doctor
came to him, handing him his results in a brown file.
As he held the paper, his heart leaped in fear, he didn''t have the guts to take out the results. His
hands shook. He walked out of the hospital, leaving against the ss door when his legs threatened to
copse.
He stared at the file in his hand, not having the courage to look into it.
What if she was not the one? What if he could never find his sister? What would he do then? He
wondered.
"Isaac." He heard Serena call. He lifted his head to see her standing in front of him.
Serena collected the file from him, looking into it and back at Isaac who stared at her unmoving,
not sure what to do.
"What is it? And why are you so scared of looking into it?" Serena asked, taking out the results and
scanning through it.
As Isaac watched her, his heart raced in his chest.

"Hold on. Wait!" Isaac said to Serena nervously as she opened her mouth to read off the result.
Serena chuckled, looking up at him.
"Why? It''s a DNA test. Why are you so nervous?" Serena asked.
"It''s just that...I..don''t.."
"Come on, I''m sure the person you are testing him or her..."
"It''s her." Isaac corrected and she shrugged, looking back at the piece of paper in hand.
"Okay, her DNA must be lucky to match yours and have you as a father or sister." Serenaughed
and Isaac rolled his eyes.
"It''s a sister." Isaac corrected once more.
"Okay a sis. Woah, thatdy must be really lucky. Let me read it out." Serena said before taking
her eyes back to the result.
"It''s said...here...it''s positive." She announced, lifting up her eyes to Isaac once more.
"Are you okay, Isaac?" Serena inquired worriedly seeing that he was not moving.
"Were you praying against it or something? I don''t understand." She asked when she didn''t get a
response.
"You...you don''t know how happy I am right now. After a long time, I''ve finally met my sister." Isaac
responded, staring at Serena, his eyes filled with love and relief.
"Okay then, can we go to her now? Can I meet her? Do you know where she is?"
"No, you don''t need to look for her. She''s right here." Isaac said, she looked around the entrance
of the hospital, in search of any female who looked like Isaac.
When she found no one she stared back at him, her brows furrowed in confusion.
"Where?"
But Isaac didn''t respond as his gaze never left Serena''s, his eyes filled with care and love that she
could almost feel it.
Then it hit her.
"Wait, what?!" Serena shrieked in realization.
She started to point at herself doubtfully
"Me?" She shrieked again.
Isaac finally smiled before pulling her into a bone crushing hug. She pulled away after some
seconds, confusion clouding her features.
"I don''t understand, Isaac. What type of game are you ying?" She asked, her eyes starting to
well with tears.
"You love. You are my sister, the sister I''ve been searching for. I''ve been searching for you for so
long." Isaac exined but she shook her head in confusion.
"But..but how is that possible? How am I your sister, Isaac?" She asked.
"Let me take you somewhere. I''ll exin there," Isaac pulled her along with him back to the Jeep.
They got in and drove to an Italian restaurant nearby. And unconsciously, she registered in her
mind that Isaac was the first person taking her to one.
Taking a seat close to the window, Isaac ordered a food off the menu she couldn''t read.
An awkward silence filled the air as the waitress brought the food, but she couldn''t touch her meal.
Thousands of thoughts flew through her mind.
"Isaac, please. Please say something. This meal won''t be digested if you don''t exin things to
me." Serena pleaded, dropping her spoon.
Isaac smiled at her before dropping his as he was about to dig in.
"I scented you to be my sister the very moment you stepped foot into the king''s castle. Your scent
seemed so familiar, so much like my father''s.
Your scent, sister, was the only thing aiding me in your search and once I perceived it, I had to get
close to you. I had to be friends with you to really confirm my suspicions." Isaac exined.
"My scent. How..how so, so you are my biological father''s son?" Serena asked, blinking hard and
trying to understand.
"Yes love. I am and I''ve been searching for you since I learnt of your existence." Isaac said, a huge
smile stered on his face.
Serena sighed and fell back on her seat.
"It''s all making sense now. I have a brother from my father''s side. I never really thought about
other siblings aside Kate. Then what about father then, where is he? I want to meet him."
"Um..sis, I''m sorry to break the news to you but he is no more. He died a long time ago. What of
your mom?"
"She is also dead," Serena replied, tears gathering up at the back of her eyes, her heart clenching
in pain.
"You know all my life. I''ve been wondering, thinking about my biological father. Why hasn''t he
everybody else." Serena said in a whisper, blinking and letting the tears drop.
"Hey, don''t cry." Isaac hushed then reached his hand toward hers, intertwining them and Serena
gasped. Something passed between them.
"I never thought he''d be dead. So automatically I''m an orphan who doesn''t know both her parents.
How worse can my life get?" Serena sobbed.
Isaac squeezed her hands in his, making her look up at him longingly.
"Your life is only gonna get better from now on, sis. I promise you that. I''ll make sure of that. You
are thest blood of our line, I''ll make sure to keep you safe." He said, reaching her cheeks with his
other hand and wiping off her tears.
"I''m..happy. I''m happy it''s you, I''m happy that you are my brother. At least I know I have a better
sibling who is a wolf like me and who will understand and fight for me." She said, leaning towards
Isaac, sniffing back her tears.
Isaac smiled at her words.
"Of course. I''m also d it''s you, Serena. You know I was thinking what I was gonna do if the
results came out negative. I havee to love you as a sister, I was wondering what I was gonna do
without you in my life." Isaac said and under the bright light she could see tears glittering in his eyes.
She chuckled, biting her lower lip.
"Thank you for making me your friend. I have never really feltfortable with anyone aside from
you. You know I had wished that you turned out as my brother too. I never knew that wish coulde
true.
Now I understand the reason why your scent created fear in me the first time I saw you. It wasn''t
supposed to create such fear, your scent was telling me something else. It was telling me that you are
my lovely brother but I didn''t understand. I''m so so happy." Isaac." She finished, squeezing her hand
between Isaac''s.
"Come here. I''m dying to hug you again." Her brother beamed standing up and walking to her
ignoring the stares he received from others as they hugged.
*******
As they left the restaurant, hands intertwined. Butterflies flew about in Serena''s belly. She could
hardly contain the joy leaping inside of her. Whenst did she feel this happy? She couldn''t remember.
There was nothing that had ever made her so happy as this.
Finding out she had a brother. She turned to Isaac, smiling before looking away shyly.
They walked side by side like new lovers, holding hands and beaming smiles at each other. The
love was very much visible in their eyes, and both of them were too content and happy to utter a word.
It was afortable, happy silence.
"So, you have a lot to tell me sis. How has life been really treating you?" Isaac asked suddenly.
"Um.. unfairly, I won''t lie to you. Life has been so unfair to me but I think that is about to change
with you beside me." Serenaughed.
"I''m sorry about that. If we had met earlier then perhaps things could have been much different."
Isaac apologized, squeezing her palm once more. She loved when he did that. There was something
assuring in that small gesture.
"So, when did you find out that you had a sister somewhere?" Serena inquired.
"Um..when I was 13. I have been looking for you ever since." Isaac said, ncing briefly at
Serena, as if checking if she was still there.
They reached a wooden bench and decided to sit on it, Isaac pulled her a little too close as if
expecting her to be snatched anytime soon.
"What of your mother?" Serena asked, ying with Isaac fingers. They were slender and long.
"My mom? Well, she also died when I was young. Though I had a chance to know her, I had a
chance to love and to be loved by her unlike you." Isaac said, watching Serena pick at his nails.
"I''ve been really thinking. How on Earth did our parents leave both their partners for each other.
Why?" Serena inquired, looking at Isaac who frowned.
"I really don''t know either. I think they were mates. They met identally and discovered this and
probably had a one night stand or something. Whatever happened though, I''m d it produced you."
There was something about the way Isaac stared at her, like she was the only light in the sky. His eyes
twinkled brightly and she blushed, looking away shyly.
"And I think you really need make-up. As my sister, I won''t allow you to dress anyhow from now

on. I''ll make up for the lost time starting from now." Isaac said, standing up to his feet and pulling his
sister to hers, leading her to the Jeep.
"I think I saw a boutique down the street." He said, as they got in. He started the car and pulled out
of the parking lot.
"Wait, you have money for clothes? All those clothes look really expensive." Serena said, shaking
her head when they reached the rather big shop, with expensive dresses hanging on disy.
"I have a lot of money, love. Don''t worry, even if I''ll have to spend them all on you then I''ll dly do
that." Isaac chuckled at her, shutting the car door, and pulling Serena inside the shop.
They were immediately sted with the cold AC as they went through an aisle picking out various
dresses. And even though Serena protested against it saying she couldn''t wear them all in the king''s
castle. He paid no mind to her as they selected more dresses and even headed to the foot wear area.
They selected some shoes that were a foot fit, slippers, bags to match and after much convincing,
Isaac urged her to get wigs and even make up.
He paid for them all.
"Howe you have so much money?" Serena couldn''t stop herself from asking once they were
back in the car after keeping all they bought in the truck.
"You see, our father left some debts before he died. He owed the king, I had to start working for
the king in order to clear those debts off but my mother is very wealthy. She left all her wealth in my
name. Even now that I''ve cleared my father''s debt off.
I should leave the king''s castle but I found it hard to. Probably because the moon goddess wanted
me to remain there until I found you.
I''m d I stayed. The king pays a huge sum of money to his workers weekly, aside from the
money and business my mom left me. I have a lot of money personally so you don''t have to worry, S.
Let me do this." Isaac exined calmly.
A feeling of satisfaction settled in her and she smiled, the gush of air hitting her face as she took
her head out of the window.
She felt loved, and it all started with Isaac. Her brother.
******
On reaching the castle, Isaac stopped the car, taking out all Serena''s things from the truck.
"Isaac." Serena called his attention to Kendrick who just stepped out of the house probably at the
sound of the car. His dark eyes ring at them.
Isaac peeped at him before turning back to the bags.
"Ignore him for now. I''ll go talk to himter." He said pulling out the bags before heading inside,
Serena trailing behind him, holding the smallest bag.
After settling Serena in her room and kissing her goodnight, he came outside to still find Kendrick
sitting on a pavement, smoking.
After that he came out to see Kendrick still standing alone outside and he was smoking.
Kendrick was the first person he spoke to the moment he stepped his foot into the king''s castle
and he has been d to have him as a friend though Kendrick tends to be protective and jealous of
anyone who gets too close to him.
"You know you aren''t allowed to smoke outside here, Ken. You never listen." Isaac said, ing to
stand beside his best friend.
"Why do you care?" Kendrick scoffed at him, puffing out a trail of smoke and Isaac smiled.
"You are always jealous bro. I didn''t expect you to be jealous of Serena, man." Isaac said, hitting
his friend across his shoulders, not hard enough to cause him pain.
"Who says I''m jealous?" Kendrick scoffed again, rolling his eyes before taking a deep breath from
his cigarette.
"You are and you know it. You don''t need to pretend you aren''t." Isaac teased.
"If you have got something to say Isa, just go straight to the point and stop annoying me." Kendrick
huffed, trying to ignore his best friend who was smiling at him.
"You should stop calling me Isa, It sounds girlish but anyways. You remember the time I told you
about my half sister?" Isaac asked.
Kendrick turned to his best friend, a frown upon his face.
"Yeah?"
"I found her and she''s Serena." Isaac said, exposing a row of white teeth.
"Your sister. Really man?!" Kendrick eximed.
"Yeah. Since she arrived here, I''ve been busy trying to confirm my suspicions that she was the
one. I ran a DNA test and it confirmed that she is truly my sister today." Isaac beamed.
"Oh f¨¹ck. I''ve been so stupid, I was supposed to help you in all this but I let my stupid mood and
jealousy get the best of me, man. I''m so sorry and congrattions." Kendrick said, and Isaac pulled
him into a hug.
THE CEO ALPHA KING
Chapter 14 My master
Chapter 14 My master
Writer''s POV
No
It was around 7 00pm when King Zed arrived at his castle.
He stepped down from his ck limo adjusting his expensive suit.
"Get her to make coffee for me. She can add more sugar this time." He said to Adam before
walking through the opened door that led to the sitting room.
He took the private elevator to his room as he recalled sgst had happened with his ve, Serena,
two days ago.
The way she had acted and pleaded with what she thought was a ghost from his former ve
brought a smile to his face. Of course it was so funny. He wasn''t the type to express his emotions, but
alone in the elevator, he couldn''t help but chuckle softly.
She was a silly wolf. He thought.
He walked out of his elevator and into his room. Sighing deeply, he took off his clothes and
memories of Serena bathing him the first and only time sparked in his head.
He felt weird that she kepting to his mind.
Something like this had never happened before and strangely, even his wolf seems fascinated by
Serena, well his wolf and not him.
Normally, he didn''t like physical contact with anyone, especially with the female gender but his wolf
had managed to encourage him that Serena''s touch meant no harm, her touch won''t bring up dirty
worms on his skin and he had listened, letting Serena touch him that day.
Thinking about it now, he felt strange.
It got him thinking. What is it about this perky little weak wolf?
"Damon, what is it about her that you like?" He whispered in his mind, talking to his wolf was one
of the major things he loved doing since he was a man of few words to others.
He heard his wolf growl before responding.
"Well, I''m d you decided to ask but I like her. I feel myself getting attracted to her." The wolf in
him said and King Zed frowned.
"Getting attracted? You must have gotten way too old. You are desperate for a mate." King Zed
scoffed.
"You seem to forget that we are one, Zed. We are one and if I am getting attracted or attached to
her then you''ll be forced to feel the same sooner orter. " Damon, his wolf told him and he could
almost feel it smirking at the back of his mind.
"That won''t ever happen. You''ll be forced to stop getting attracted to her instead, Damon. She''s
just a weak half breed." The Alpha tried to reason, walking to the end of the room to get a shirt to sleep
in.
But he got no response to that. Damon was quiet and it was rather strange for him not to argue
with his human counterpart. But the Alpha let it slide. .
He sighed, changing his clothes before heading downstairs for dinner.
*****
"The king is back and you have to make him coffee, with a little bit of sugar." Isaac informed
Serena once she stepped out of the shower, a dark towel tied around her chest, shielding her naked
frame from her brother.
"What? When did he arrive? You should have told me earlier, Isaac." Serena yelled, hurriedly
heading to her closet in search of something to wear.
"I didn''t want to rush you but hey, be quick too. I don''t want you getting into any trouble, I''ll leave
now." Isaac said before walking out of her room.
She sighed, remembering Grandma Felicia hade to express her happiness and
congrattions for her being Isaac''s sister. She was the second person Isaac had told, Kendrick being
the first no doubt.
Just like Serena, Grandma Felicia was extra nice to Isaac, reasons best known to her.
Serena finished putting on an oversized gown, tied her hair up carelessly before running out of the
mini mansion.
As she made her way to the castle, she kept memorizing the three most important rules inside her
head.
She got to the castle doors and was allowed in, bowing in greeting to the guards who ignored her.
"A little bit of added sugar." She mumbled as she went down to work in the kitchen.
And for two days, she hadn''t perceived the king''s aura. Today it hit her like a ton of bricks, his
scent filled the room, urging her to submit to him even though he wasn''t there. A spark of fear shivered
down her spine as she went to the kitchen.
Luckily, there was no one here but with her wolf''s ears she could hear someone vacuuming
upstairs. The servants were probably awake too.
She realized the king''s scent became stronger and figured he wasing down so she hastily got
to work.
However, when she finished she tasted it and found out she had just put too much sugar now the
coffee was too sweet.
"Gosh!" She whispered in frustration.
"You need to calm down first, Serena. If you don''t wanna get into trouble, you need to keep calm
first." Isaac''s voice whispered at the back of her mind. She gasped in shock.
This was the first time he ever spoke to her telepathically, and she felt giddy up inside of her.
She turned back to the coffee, taking a deep breath and emptying the cup in the sink to make
another.
With newly found confidence, she made it better than thest and it wasn''t too sweet this time, just
the right amount of sugar. She smiled, ced it on a tray and walked to the sitting room.
She could see him sitting at the head of the dinning table, his eyes fixed on the tes in front of
him. As she walked in, she felt the temperature drop and her heartbeat picked up unusually.
It was at the tip of her tongue to greet him as ''your highness'' but she paused remembering he had
told her he was her master.
She bent her head in submission, keeping her eyes on her feet as she walked closer to him before
dropping the coffee with shaky hands on his table. She bowed lower, greeting him silently before
starting to retreat.
Not wanting to stay another moment in his dangerous aura.
"Sit." The king suddenlymanded her, his voice shaking her to her very core.
Her eyes widened as she stopped in her tracks, before taking a seat opposite him. She curled up
her toes and clenched her fist to stop herself from trembling.
She watched as he took the coffee to his lips, inhaling the heat briefly before taking a sip.
"You added too much sugar. More than you were supposed to." He said, ncing through a
magazine in his hand that she hadn''t noticed earlier.
Her lips trembled, she didn''t know what to say.
"You can just apologize, Serena." Isaac''s voice came in her mind, telepathically.
"I''m sorry, master." She apologized, squeezing her fingers anxiously.
At the sound of her voice, he lifted his eyes to her. Her heart stopped for a second. His cold great
eyes fixed on her like he could see deep into her soul.
Unable to hold the gaze, and avoid making it look like she was challenging him, she looked away
at her thighs in submission. Praying he would let her leave.
"From tomorrow.." King Zed started, then paused. She looked up, his gaze was on the guard who
stood a few steps away from him.
"Where is Felicia?" He asked.
"I''ve sent for her your Highness." The guard responded, bowing a little.
"I''m here, your Highness. I''m right here." She heard Grandma Felicia''s voice as she rushed into
the dinning, dusting her long skirt.
Serena watched as Grandma Felicia knelt down in greeting before the King asked her to rise.
"I was saying. From tomorrow, the little wolf here will be the one serving me my meals, cooking it.
She''ll see to everything that concerns me around here." The King announced, taking another sip from
his coffee. .
Her heart sank at his words, and her eyes widened. The room suddenly became hot for her.
Even Grandma Felicia was shocked, exchanging looks between Serena and the King.
What? She thought, not concerned if the King could read her thoughts
"My Lord." Grandma Felicia started and he turned to her.
"Yes? I just wanted you to be aware of that, Felicia. I want her to do everything, to serve me well.
She is my only ve so she''ll have to do them all alone." He finished, almost daring anyone to counter
his words.
"Yes...yes your Highness. Of course." Grandma Felicia said, her eyes moved back to stare at
Serena who was now on her feet. She wasn''t even aware she stood up.
Yes? Did she really just agree to that? Serena wanted to scream out loud, but she was locked in
her mind. Please no! I don''t even know how to cook, let alone his favourite meals! I can barely even get
his coffee right! She thought, tears welling up in her eyes.
She was going to die.
"I''ll take my leave now." Grandma Felicia added before leaving her alone with the King.
Reluctantly, she sat down once more, her emotions all over the ce and while she knew
everyone else could feel it. She didn''t care.
As her tears threatened to drop from her eyes, she blinked them back, scared the king would scold
her for it. She bit down her lower lip.
"Oh..I forgot to add one thing. You''ll no longer be staying at the servants quarter, you''ll stay here."
He added, and her heart sank lower to her feet. She had just lost her freedom also.
Unconsciously, anger filled her veins. She wanted to stand up to him, challenge him and ask what
had made him hate her so much to give her so much responsibility than any other servant.
But they would only mean her death. And she already lost too much and found so much. Her
brother. She couldn''t leave him now they had just met. Clenching her fist, she forced herself to calm
down.
"Aren''t you eating?" He snapped her out of her thoughts with an unusual casual voice.
I''m not hungry. It was at the tip of her tongue to say that to him but she knew better than to refuse
the king.
"I am. Thank you, master." She whispered, picking up her fork with a shaky hand, before slicing a
piece of food she didn''t recognize and forcing it down her throat.
Content provided by N?velDrama.Org.
As the sweet sensation filled her tongue, she resonated over the king''s words.
''She''ll see to everything that concerns me around here.''
"Get out." She jerked at the sound of his voice dropping the fork in a tter and running out of the
room muttering a ''Thank you'' on her way out.
"Why did you get angry, Zed?" Damon, the king''s wolf, taunted him.
"Because she wasn''t pleased with what you did? You did what you did to prove to me that nothing
could ever happen between you and her. But you are wrong now, aren''t you?" The wolf asked when he
didn''t respond.
"Shut up. She doesn''t know how to eat, that is the reason why I sent her away. If you continue like
this, Damon. I''ll be forced to send her to her early grave" King Zed warned before continuing his meal
in silence.
*********
Serena got to the mini mansion and ran all the way to her room ignoring the lingering eyes from
the other servants. They must have all heard the news.
As she got to her room, she flew in the bed and sobbed into her pillow.
The door opened and her brother''s scent filled her nose but she didn''t move as she listened to him
walk closer, sitting on her bed and reaching for the pillow beneath her.
"Hey Sis, I heard. I''m so sorry. No one expected that order from the king." He said, touching her
and pulling her away from the pillow.
She wrapped her arms around him, resting her head on his chest, listening to the soft rhythm of his
heartbeat.
"Why me? How did this happen to me? I want to leave here. I don''t want to spend another night
with the king." She sobbed, her tears staining Isaac''s shirt but he didn''t seem to mind.
"I...I am so sorry. I''ve been wondering why he did that but can''t find a valid reason. You didn''t
offend him, I was there. Why did he suddenly say that?"
Having nothing else to say, Serena sobbed for what felt like hours before she finally fell asleep
against him.
Isaac carefully ced her back on the bed before covering her with the duvet. As he watched her,
painced his heart. He wanted her to be happy, not crying all the time.
He stepped out of her room only to bump into Kendrick who stood at the door.
"How is she?" Kendrick asked.
"Asleep," Isaac replied walking away from the door. Kendrick followed him until they got outside.
"Why on earth did the king make such an announcement? He has a lot of good cooks. Why make
her do everything, does he want her dead or what?" Kendrick asked out loudly, confusion filled his face
and Isaac shrugged.
"I don''t know. I''ve got to get her out of here, man. I don''t want her serving the king anymore. Who
knows? He might even start taking sexual pleasures from her soon. I won''t allow her to be used, Ken."
"Do you have any ns in mind?" Kendrick asked him.
"Of course. I have a perfect one. But I''ll have to find the perfect moment to execute it." Isaac
smirked.

Chapter 15 Making him dinner
Writer''s POV
Serena tossed about on her bed, before opening her eyes. Staring up at the ceiling, the first
thought that came to her mind was the King''s words fromst night.
A scent filled her nose and she sat up to see Isaac dozing off on the only sofa in her room. She
smiled, picking up her phone on the nightstand.
She gasped when she saw a text message from Martins.
ncing briefly at the time across her screen, she put the phone away, hoping to read the text
She stood up quickly, and headed for the bathroom when Isaac''s voice stopped her.
"Serena, you are awake?" Isaac asked, rubbing his tired eyes as he rose to his feet.
"Yes Isaac, I need to run to the king''s chamber. I can''t believe I slept in." She gushed, retreating to
the bathroom, Isaac following her as she mmed the door.
"The king left already, he is not in the castle. Grandma Felicia took care of him." Isaac said,
yawning outside the bathroom door.
Serena opened the door slightly, only popping her head and Isaac raised a brow.
"Really?" She asked.
"Yes, that is the reason why I didn''t wake you. He gave you a different task though, you are to
make dinner for him, consisting of all his favorite dishes" Issac said and she groaned.
"What? Dinner tonight? I don''t know how to cook his favorite meals, Isaac."
"Yeah, he has given orders for Betty and the rest to teach you that. You are going to get really busy
once you step out of this room, so take your time to shower." Isaac yawned before heading back to the
couch.
Serena grumbled, mming the door harder probably scaring Isaac who was already dozing off.
After finishing her business, she came out with a towel to see a dressid out on her bed. It was
an off shoulder dress, with small white stones. One that Isaac had bought for her. She chuckled,
ncing at him before heading back to the bathroom to dress.
As she stood in front of the mirror, she started to brush her hair, stopping briefly to admire herself.
She looked beautiful in the dress. It touched her knees and made her look too serious for a ve.
"I can assume that you are dressed already." Isaac yawned looking around the room sleepily
before finding Serena, his jaw dropped as he stood up to admire her more.
She blushed under his gaze before speaking.
"Yes Isaac. Did you sleep in my roomst night?"
"Yes. I couldn''t leave you in that state. I had to make sure you were okay." Isaac replied, ing to
stand behind her.
He collected the brush from Serena.
"Let me." He said, and started brushing her hair. For a guy he did a really good job.
"So, how are you feeling now?" Isaac inquired.
"I don''t even know, Isaac. I don''t know how I''m gonna cope." Serena mumbled sadly.
"You will, S. You will, until I get you out of here."
Serena quickly turned her head to stare up at him, the brush hanging off the side of her head
clinging to her hair.
"Get me out of here? You have a way?" She gasped in shock.
"Yes. I do, I have a way." Issac smiled at her, turning her face back to the mirror to resume
brushing.
"What way is that, Issac? It''s not as if I''m doubting you but, ves aren''t free born anymore." She
asked, looking up at him from the mirror.
But she was met with silence and only the sound of her brush against her hair. He took a hair band
from her wrist and pulled her hair in a ponytail before going to sit on his sister''s bed.
Serena turned to him, ring daggers at him before he sighed.
"I''ve had this idea ever since I got here. So there are only two ways a ve can ever be free from
their master, the king.
One way is if they are dead and the second way is if the king frees them.
So the second option won''t work because the king will never free you. We''ll have to go with the
first option." Isaac said nonchntly.
"What? You''ll have me dead, you want me to die?" Serena asked in disbelief, stumping angrily
towards him.
Isaac stood up immediately, grabbing her shoulders.
"You''ll have to stop breathing, a corpse can''t stay in the king''s castle more than two hours, S. You''ll
have to stop breathing for two hours for that to happen." Isaac exined.
"But...but how is that...how is that..?" Serena stuttered.
Isaac pulled her to the bed before flopping beside her.
"There is this drug that can do that to wolves and even humans. I''ll have to get the one that will
make you stop breathing for two hours and the one that will make your body temperature turn cold like
that of a dead wolf. I''ll also get the one that will wake you up after two hours.
I''ll get you out of the castle and shoot you with the serum. It will be easy and painless, S. I
promise, I won''t harm you. It won''t harm you either." He said, touching her face and bringing her eyes
to meet his.
Her heartbeat increased and a worried look appeared on her face.
"But..what if we get caught? What if..?"
"No. We won''t. Trust me this idea has been in my head for years, it will work perfectly. I will make
sure of that." Isaac assured.
"What about you then? How will you get out?" Serena inquired, rxing into his touch.
"I will, I will go to the king and ask him to grant me the permission to leave. I am only a servant, it''s
way easier, he''ll let me leave." Isaac responded before smiling, running down his fingers across her
cheeks.
"After that, we''ll go far away, we''ll stay away from LA. And we''ll live happily, how about that?"
She smiled, nodding her head in agreement as a scene of her living freely shed in her head.
"Okay. I trust you." She said, "When will that be though?"
"I''m waiting for the perfect time. The king will have to be around. It might be the day he has given
you a lot of work to do, then it''ll be as if you suddenly fainted and eventually died from overwork. It
would be perfect, so please, before that time, S, I want you to manage, I want you to do everything he
asks of you. Please try not to make any mistakes, okay?" Isaac asked worriedly.
"Ok."
********
Five minutester they walked out of Serena''s room, headed for the dinning room to eat breakfast.
Along the way, a blue haired servant whose name she had heard was Lexi approached them, with
a tray of vegetables in her hand.

"Hello love." Isaac smiled and kissed her on the lips.
Serena, finding the scene awkward, rolled her eyes, dodging the couples and heading to the dining
room herself.
She didn''t meet a lot of people there, only two servants. Kendrick and one other guy by the name
Simon. They sat at the other end of the table eating and talking until Kendrick nced at her.
"Hello Serena." He greeted and she almost gasped in shock at his friendliness. Thest time they
had spoken he hadn''t been like this.
"Hi..hi." She stuttered, pulling out a seat far away from them.
"You are surprised right? Don''t be. I was stupid to behave that way to you. I shouldn''t have and I''m
sorry." Kendrick spoke again and her cheeks blushed red.
"It''s...okay." She mouthed her eyes fixed on the dining table. Kendrick chuckled before continuing
his meal and talking to his friend when Isaac walked in, taking a seat beside her.
"Hi Ken. Hi Simon," Isaac waved to the two boys.
"Hi," Simon drawled, his attention on his phone.
"Yup Isa. You got something for me?" Kendrick asked, staring at Isaac knowingly, something
passed between them and she couldn''t quite catch it.
"No." Isaac replied, turning sharply away from Ken after giving him a look she didn''t quite
understand either.
"Hello handsome." Serena turned to see Bettying up to Isaac before kissing him in the lips.
She looked away.
Is my brother a yer? Why is he always kissing all thedies here? Do they know that he is
treating all of them the same way? She wondered but didn''t voice out her thoughts.
"Yes, Serena. Your bro is a yer," Isaac whispered into Serena''s ears making her roll her eyes.
She stopped, turning to him with furrowed brows.
"Did you hear my thoughts or what?" She inquired, making Isaac smirk.
"No, your face tells me what you are thinking. I am a yer and I''m not shy to admit it." He
admitted proudly.
"Gross." Serena grimaced, shifting away from him.
Isaacughed and even Kendrick had to join in.
"He enjoys kissing and getting into all thedies'' pants. I think you should get used to it." Kendrick
added and Isaac feigned hurt.
"Come on, you don''t have to be so blunt, Ken."
It was another two hours when they finished eating and clearing the table. The other servants had
left leaving Serena, Betty, two other cooks Lilian and She, with Isaac who lounged around.
The girls were teaching her how to cook, starting with the king''s favourite dishes.
"But seriously Isaac, is she really your sister? Wow, I never imagined that." Lilian said, turning to
Isaac who picked an apple from the fridge.
"Yeah Lil, I never thought that I would one day meet my sister inside the king''s castle. Maybe the
moon goddess wanted it to happen for a reason. I presume." Isaac replied, biting into the apple before
sitting on a chairzily.
"She is lucky." Shelia who had been a little too quiet chipped in.
"In as much as I hate to agree. It''s true. She is really lucky." Betty added, throwing Serena a
nce she couldn''t quite read but she smiled softly.
It was nice to hear good words from the servants and even Betty.
"Having a brother as cute as Isaac. A kick-ass, I''ll love that," She said again, trying to step out of
herfort zone.
"Aw, you forget he is here with us. Please don''t praise him any more." Betty rolled her eyes while
the girlsughed.
As they continued, they drifted off to various topics, gossiping about other girls and boys too.
Serena mostly blocked them out, until a discussion caught her ears.
"You know when I heard the news about what the king said, I thought he was going to fire us just
like he fired his personal coffee maker. I was relieved to learn from Grandma Felicia that we will still
have our jobs." Lilian was saying while She nodded in agreement.
She nced at Isaac and he just shook his head.
"Ignore them. Just concentrate on learning." Isaac told her telepathically and she turned back to
cooking, reading briefly from the manual Betty gave her.
After another 12 hours of learning, she could make 5 of his favourite dishes. And was ordered to
make them without any assistance.
As they left the kitchen, she set to work. Remembering each spice Betty had told her to use, every
step Lilian and She had showed to her. It was easier than she thought, svd she went around the
kitchen wlessly.
The king will soon arrive at the castle and it will be time to serve him his meals.
She finished making all the dishes at exactly 7 05pm when the king''s car drove in.
"I must admit, you are a fast learner. I never thought you''d be able to make all the dishes yourself
after one lecture." Isaac, who had been sitting very quietly watching her cook, broke the silence,
smiling proudly at his sister.
Serena smiled too, feeling a sense of aplishment.
"Please taste it for me beforeplimenting me. I measured and used the right ingredients for
every dish, it was just like making coffee. You have to make everything appropriate." Serena spoke,
serving Isaac a little portion of each meal.
"They are all nice. They are absolutely delicious and I mean it, I hope he doesn''tin though,
cos it''s hard to please him. Soon, you''ll be much better than the three of them." He said, smiling at her
before dropping the spoon.
Serena blushed.
"Go and take your bath, change into a new beautiful dress while I arrange the dishes on a tray. Be
quick."
She quickly ran up to her room, and washed herself, she was so sweaty and mmy. Dressing
into a fitted blue dress, she ran back to the kitchen. But she didn''t see the food nor Isaac there.
She tried for the first time to speak to him telepathically. She focused on his scent and channelled
her thoughts towards him.
"Isaac. Where are you?" She asked in her head, closing her eyes to concentrate more on him.
"Serena? I''m in the king''s castle,e over quickly." Isaac answered her. She punched the air in
victory then rushed to the castle to see Isaac waiting at the front door.
"I helped you set the table. All that remains is his coffee. You''ll have to ask him how he wants it
today before making it for him. Go and stand at the dining area, wait for him there." Isaac instructed
and she nodded, walking past him to the dining table.
She saw the food, and quickly arranged it just as she had seen the others do it. Admiring her work
and making sure everything was perfect, she stepped back and waited for the Alpha King.
In a minute, his scent filled her nose, dangerous and deadly. She shook in fear, shifting from one
foot to another to maintain her bnce.

Offense
Writer''s POV
King Zed appeared from the hallway and the temperature in the room dropped, each movement he made spoke of deadly aura and bled power. He sat at the head of the table.
"Good evening, master." Serena greeted, a newly founded confidence exploded in her, she just had to be perfect until Isaac got her out of here.
The king lifted his eyes to her, acknowledging her presence for the first time since he walked in, and she lowered her eyes in submission.
"Have your seat. You''ll be having dinner with me." King Zed announced.
Serena gasped softly. Just like yesterday, he was requesting her to have dinner with him again today. It felt weird to her, after all she was a ve and she was supposed to sit at his feet.
Slowly, she made her way to the table, sitting far away from him in case things got violent.
When was he going to ask for his coffee? She thought.
"Adam." The Alpha King called, not taking his eyes off Serena.
"Your Highness." Adam walked into the room, bowing slightly at his side.
"Who made my dinner tonight?" King Zed asked, his gaze still on Serena. She shifted in her seat, turning away to look at Adam who stood dutifully at his side a little thrown away by his question.
Adam lifted his head ncing briefly between Serena and his alpha.
"Your ve did, your Highness." He finally answered.
"Hmm." Was all the king said, before he directed his next question at Serena whose gaze found him again.
"Did you poison it?"
"Of..of course not, your Highness." Serena gasped, answering too quickly.
"I am not ''your'' Highness," King Zed growled.
"I''m sorry, master." Serena apologized, shaking visibly for fear that she had angered him.
"Now, where is my coffee?"
Serena stood up on her feet immediately, hands pped behind her, as she started to feel very hot from nervousness.
"I wasn''t sure what you would like..."
"Go make me the usual, ve." He said, cutting her off.
Hearing the word ''ve'' made her stomach flip and she bit her quivering lower lip, lowering her head before leaving the dining room. She quickly got to work.
King Zed dropped his cutleries angrily the moment Serena left for the kitchen. Disgust clouded his features.
"I can''t eat this. Take it away." He said irritatedly, touching his forehead in frustration.
"Yes, your Highness. I''ll get the servants to clear up the table." Adam answered and left quickly to avoid his wrath.
When Serena came back with the coffee in hand, she was surprised to see his cutleries discarded carelessly as he rested his head against his palm.
She threaded carefully towards him, reaching to drop the coffee in front of him when he suddenly raised his head. Unable to control her surprise, he stumbled, the cup sliding off the tray and sshing over him.
Her heart skipped a bit as she stared in shock at him, goosebumps disyed over her pale skin and the Alpha King growled, more animal than human. His cold grey orbs turned to deadly red ones as he rose to his feet, towering above her.
Without control of her body anymore, she kneels before him in submission and in apology.
She was going to die today.
She hadmitted two grave offenses. Looking him in the eye, which meant she was saying she was in the same position as him. And also pouring coffee on him, again!
Starting to shiver all over, fear running down her spine, she turned cold.
"I''m..I''m sorry, your high..master. I''m sorry." She stammered, tears running down her cheeks unconsciously, hoping he would let her go.
As the Alpha''s eyes slowly returned to their original grey color, he stared down at Serena who trembled below him like a scared little mouse. His anger intensified, staring at her small female frame.
In seconds he was choking life out of her. Serenaid on the floor gasping seriously for air as an invisible force took air away from her.
She thrashed around, gasping for the littlest of air, as tears fell from her eyes. His cold eyes kept staring down at her, taking thest breath of life from her.
"Your Highness!" Adams''s voice rang from behind, and the King froze from the interruption.
"I...I..." Adam muttered his eyes gliding to Serena''s small figure.
"I''ll take her." Adam said walking towards them and he finally let go of her. She coughed, reaching up to her neck as if she could still feel hands on her. She quickly took in sharp gasps of breath.
"Take her to the cell." The Alpha roared and Adam nodded, touching her and pulling her to her feet sharply.Content provided by N?velDrama.Org.
She melted into his embrace and allowed the darkness to take over her as she fell into unconsciousness.
Adam carried her in his arms to the basement. There were rows of cells there where the king kept disobedient ves. He pulled open the door to one, dropping the small ve on the floor, before locking it and leaving.
As king Zed sat back on his chair, his mind raced. He felt such a strong urge to kill her. And his wolf stepped in, a cold voice at the back of his head.
"You almost killed her, Zed." Itmented angrily.
"She offended me, Damon. That half breed wolf girl needs to get far away from us." The Alpha answered with the same energy, after all they were one, sharing the same emotion.
"From us? You are the one who doesn''t know how to handle your anger."
"Didn''t you see what she did? She makes it so hard to not be angry!"
"No, she already pleaded and you forgave her for spilling the coffee on you. Your hatred for that other mate made you do that to her. And now that you know I''m getting attracted to her. You hate her even more!" His wolf yelled back and he was half tempted to shut down his voice.
"I don''t want her dead. I want her gone. I don''t want her anywhere near me. I''ll be forced to really kill her. It''s best if you forget about the half breed!"
"No! We are just getting started, Zed. Deep down you know there is something about her. Something about her but you don''t know what. You are only afraid of being used likest time. We need a mate, Zed!" Damon exaggerated and Zed flew his hands against the food on the table so they all came crashing on the floor.
"I don''t need a mate. You better learn to live fine this way!" He growled back angrily.
"What about the meal she made? You barely even touched it, now it''s all over the floor. Are you really that afraid to get used again?"
"I''m not! Get off my mind. Don''t speak to me again!" The king yelled back, shutting off the connection with his wolf, but he could feel it scrimming inside of him. He ignored it.
"Adam!" The Beta came rushing in, shocked by the mess on the floor before bowing to his Alpha.
"Get Elena on the line. Tell her to make sure she''s here before 10:00am tomorrow. I won''t tolerateteness."
Isaac couldn''t stop pacing around the room as he had heard, now everybody had heard what happened with Serena and the King. He stopped, thinking of going to meet Grandma Felicia, but she wouldn''t be able to do much. Not when the king was angry, extending his deadly aura around the castle.
He needed to get Serena out of there. As he turned for his room, he got stopped along the hallway by Charles.
"What is it Charles? I have no time for chit chat." Isaac groaned, stepping out of the way only to get blocked again. He rolled his eyes.
"I heard Serena is your biology sister. No wonder you care for her so much. And now I hear she has gotten into another trouble with the king." Charles said.
"Where exactly are you getting at, Charles?" Isaac frowned.
"Join me, let''s end this before the king takes your sister''s life." Shock crossed his face as he stared at the other male servant.
"End this as how? Finding a way to kill the king? No man. That isn''t working. I''m not gonna turn into a murderer." Isaac shook his head in disagreement, turning to leave again.
"Then watch him as he turns into yet another murderer and murder the sister you just united with." Charles said hatefully.
"I won''t let my sister die, okay? But I''m not doing it in your own way," Isaac yelled, walking away from him before he could utter another word.
When he got to his room, he pulled out a card and headed to the hospital once more to get the drugs he needed.
By the time he was done, he came back, hiding them in his drawer along with the syringe before stepping out asking about Serena. He found out she was in the king''s cell but grabbed two bottles of vertigo before heading there.
He stopped at the entrance and two guards looked up at him.
"Hey, what do you want?" One of them asked.
"I just...I just want to be with her for a while bro. No harm done, I know the precautions of trying to behave nasty. I know you must be tasty so I brought this for you two." He handed them the drinks.
They stared at each other before collecting it.
"It won''t get you drunk but it''ll help you because I know you two must be really tired from standing guard. Now, can you let me in?" He smiled.
Chapter 17
?Chapter 17 Punishment
THE CEO ALPHA KING
Punishment
Writer''s POV
An hourter, the cell gate opened and a guard walked in, kicking Serena in the foot and snapping her out of her daydream where she was free and loving with her brother in a cute home.
"Hey, stand up." The guard said again, and she turned to him almost tempted to re at him.
"Go out, the king wants you in his chambers." He said, moving out of the way as she walked out of the cell and out of the basement.
Almost bumping into Adam, she staggered backwards, pain elerating her neck from her sharp movements.
She looked up at him and his eyes nced so quickly at her neck before ring at her, pushing himself off the wall, he stood in front of her, towering over her like everyone else. "Come here." Adam said, not giving her a chance to respond, he grabbed her hand.
He opened a door and pushed her in before shutting it. She gasped, looking around the in room for any reason why he would bring her here. Now when the king had sent for her. She was about to say something when Adam red.
"Now listen to me and listen carefully Serena or whatever you''re called. Try to stop pissing the king off. He might really hurt you, try to act normal for once." Adam said angrily before pacing the room.
"You helped me yesterday. You were the one who stopped the king from choking me to death." Serena spoke, her throat hurt with each word that escaped her lips.
Adam stopped his pacing, stepping towards her and into her space.
"Yes, I did that because I didn''t want to see another dead body of his ve. I did that because the king, his demons might end up controlling him if he''d killed youst night.
Stop angering him. He is quick to anger and his anger can burn us all. I know the king, I''ve been his Beta for years. And even if I spend most of my time with him I''m still very much afraid of him.
Aside from that, I see restraint in him whenever you are around him. I don''t know what exactly but I feel you are someone that will be useful to him, alive. So stay alive until then. Stay alive." He finished, staring so deeply at Serena, his face void of any emotion.
"Do you understand me?" He asked when she said nothing.
"Y..yes," Serena replied, stepping back to breathe.
"Good."
"Now go help him run his bath. Greet him immediately you see him, do everything smartly without thinking silly and you''ll be fine." Adam said, looking around the room as if trying to think of something else except for the situation.
Serena nodded in understanding, suddenly feeling extremely weak and cold from sitting on the cold hard floor in the cell.
"Now go, someone is waiting for you at the door. She''ll take you to the king''s chambers." Adam said, making no move to leave the room, so she stepped out, leaving him behind.
When she got to the door, she found the human girl, Emi and a sudden emotion filled her. She had mixed feelings concerning the girl.
"Hi." Emi waved happily as usual..
"Hi." Serena waved back trying to bite back the awkward stare that passed between them.
"I''ll take you to the king''s chambers." Emi smiled leading the way, skipping softly.
"Do you...do you know every route around here?" Serena asked, walking behind her, while looking around at the familiar hallways.
"Yes, I know every inch of this castle. I''ve lived here for years." She turned to smile at Serena and Serena quickly averted her eyes somewhere.
Emi led her to the king''s chambers in a few minutes and stopped at the hallway, turning to Serena, smiling widely.
"You can take it from here." She said,
"Yeah, thank you." Serena replied, looking down the hallway, the king''s door was not far away and she knew it by heart.
You owe me two now." Emi voiced once more before smiling and skipping away so awkwardly Serena shivered.
She ignored the happy steps of Emi that faded behind her and headed for the door to the King''s Chambers. She approached the guards at the door.
"The king sent for me." She told them and before they could say anything, the door opened.
One of them urged her in and she nodded, gulping down the fear that had started to climb up her throat.
And as usual, when she entered the room, she felt the temperature drop, the deadly aura filled every corner of the room.
She found him sitting on a high chair, shirtless and facing the window so his back was to her. The room was dimly lit so she couldn''t see much. "Good morning, Master." she greeted, slightly bowing her head.
"Go prepare my bath." He growled, not turning to face her. She could still feel his hands against her throat and started to feel ufortable.
"Yes master." She bowed, turned to the bathroom and prepared the bath in no time. She hoped that this was only required of her and she wouldn''t be bathing him today. She went back to the room to find him still sitting in the same position.
"Master, your bath is ready." She announced standing like an obedient ve with her arms crossed behind her.
"Who are you? What is your origin?" He asked suddenly and she almost ran out of breath.
The question threw her off guard. It was unusual for him to speak to her let alone ask such personal questions.
The question also threw him off guard. Why was he asking her this? There was truly something about the girl that he couldn''t quite ce a finger on.
"My king." Serena gasped, words escaped her as she searched for something to say.
But the king remained quiet, giving her time to recollect her thoughts and still not turning to her.
"I..I am an orphan. I just recently discovered that, but I have two half siblings....my...my mother is a human..while my father is..an Alpha..but he is dead. That is all I know about my origin master." Serena stuttered.
"No wonder you are so weak." King Zedmented, and her heart sank to the floor as she lowered her eyes.Exclusive ? content by N(?)ve/l/Drama.Org.
He suddenly stood up on his feet and Serena took two steps back, power bleeding out of him and almost forcing her to submit.
"You can leave. I no longer need your services," he ordered and walked into the bathroom leaving her standing there.
Serena stared after the bathroom in wonder.
Did the king actually have a conversation with me, even after trying to kill me? She thought.
"You''ll be punished severely if you spend one more minute in my room." She heard him say in her mind and she scrambled to the door in fear.
Pulling down the handle, the door wouldn''t bulge.
Right, it seems like only the king has the power to open it.
What should I do then? What should I do? Serena thought as she turned back to the room, ncing around for anything that could open it.
She heard the locks from the door and it opened for her. She stepped back. It was probably the king, she thought as she left the room, nodding at the guards who stood outside.
She bumped into Isaac outside the hallway and hugged him tightly.
"Isaac." She cried, squeezing him tight.
Caught off guard, Isaac finally melted into her embrace.
"Hey S, I was wondering where you went. Are you okay?" Isaac asked, pushing her face up so she stared at him.
"Yes, the king called me. I''m literally justing out of his room." She said before sighing and pulling away from him
"And you okay?" Isaac asked curiously, noticing the eye bags under her eyes. His heart clenched with worry. "Yes. And guess what? The king just spoke to me."
"Really? About what?"
"He asked me about my origin. Isn''t that weird?" Serena answered, biting her fingers.
"Yeah, it is. So what did you tell him?" Isaac asked, obviously not liking where the conversation was leading to.
"The truth. That...I..uhm an orphan and I have two half siblings. But then he called me a weakling," Serena''s smile fell and Isaac reached out to her, grabbing her shoulders.
"You aren''t a weakling. Get that off your head okay?" Isaac said, before pinching her cheeks yfully.
Serena smiled.
"Yes. Of course."
"Okay, so I''ve moved your things to your new room here in the castle. The king''s order, but you won''t stay long." Isaac said, whispering thest part so no one with wolf''s hearing would hear them. "Okay then. Show me my new room." She said, a little excited she was going to be staying in the huge castle.
"Of course. Follow me."
Right outside the castle, the gate opened and a car drove in. It stopped at the garage, parking wlessly and a driver stepped down heading to the passenger door to open it for ady who stepped out. She wore a red fitted dress and a fur jacket that hung perfectly over her slender shoulders. She was a perfect figure, beautiful with blonde hair and bright blue eyes.
The guards around greeted her as she walked into the king''s castle and went straight to his chambers.
"Your Highness." She called from the outside.
"Come in, Elena." The king answered, opening the door to let her through.
She majestically walked in to see himing right out of the bathroom, a towel tied loosely around his waist. But she made no effort to look away.
"You called for me, your Highness." Elena said, watching the drop of water trailing down his torso and escaping into his lower region.
"Yes. Sit."
Elena nodded once before walking towards the long ck sofa by the side of the room.
She settled infortably while the king searched his closet for something to wear.
"So, I have a problem." King Zed started.
Elena turned her head to look at him, surprised.
"What?"
"You..you have a problem? The king has a problem?" She asked in disbelief.
"Yes. And that''s the reason why I asked you to be here." King Zed snapped, making her gulp before bowing slightly to him.
"I know you read all those history notes and ledgers. You might know what is currently going on with me right now."
"Okay, what is going on with you?" Elena asked, looking at him worriedly for the first time since she walked in.
He got dressed before walking to the window.
"I don''t know. I don''t understand what exactly it is. My wolf and I are not on good terms because of that. So I figured out that it should be a supernatural problem that needs bncing."
"Okay. But your Highness, you''ll have to borate on this one. I need more exnation to figure out your problem or I will search for it."
She couldn''t stop the excitement that flowed through her veins as she stood up.
"It''s this half breed. My wolf wants her but I don''t. I mean she is just a weak thing. Why will Damon want a weak little wolf like her?"
Elena hummed when the king turned to her.
"Um..when our wolves want someone then that means we are mated to that person. I can''t say that in your case because you have already met your mate.
I can''t really exin the reason. Maybe she is a second mate. You can ask your wolf, your Highness." Elena suggested.
"I already blocked him out and he won''t answer me for sure." King Zed grumbled.
Elena opened her mouth and shut it again. She couldn''t believe this. The king''s wolf was attracted to someone!
"Um..." She lifted her head, but didn''t stare at him.
"It''s okay. You can stare at me for today. I''ll allow that because you are my therapist."
"Thank you, my King." She said, meeting his cold gaze.
"Who is this half breed and what exactly do you feel when she is around you?" Elena questioned, taking a step towards him.
"You don''t need to know her, Elena. She is not your concern."
"Okay, I''m sorry. But you need to open up to me your Highness. I''ve known you since we were kids, I.."
"And that is exactly why you are here, Elena. It''s because I know you and I feelfortable around you." He interrupted angrily.
"Yes. Okay, let''s go back to what you feel when she is around you."
"I don''t know. I feel there is something but I don''t know what. Not knowing what that half breed will mean or already mean to me is not going down well with me. And I want to kill her for that, but on the other hand I can''t because Damon will be really pissed and then he''ll take over me and a lot of people will die." King Zed exined.
Elena shook her head in understanding.
"You want her dead. But your wolf wants her." She repeated.
"I dislike her, a nuisance. Weak and always scared. Makes me want to get rid of her more. She doesn''t even know how to obey simple rules." King Zed groaned, walking back to the window.
Elena smiled.
"It will be a very good thing your Highness if you keep her around. With her around we''ll be able to figure out more about what she is, she might be a weapon to destroy you or she might be a saviour sent to save you."
"You are hiding something from me, Elena. Spill it." He red at her.
"Your Highness I can''t tell you right now until I''m certain and even if you''ll have to kill me. I still won''t tell you until I''m certain." Elena refused.
King Zed scoffed, turning to face the window again.
"One more thing. Every little mistake she makes angers me, I want her far away from me. But I also want her near me, I want to also know more about her at the same time. You should add that to your theory when researching." King Zed said.
Elena smiled before bowing a little.
"I''ll take my leave now, your Highness. Please stay well.
