《The Lycan's Soul Mate》 chapter 1 Luna chapter 1 Luna Luna had been having this dream for the past three weeks. Every night she would be awoken by her mom at about the same time soaked in wet in the old bathtub in the basement. This was really starting to be a problem. Thest time this happened she had been at her best friend¡¯s house where she woke up in their garden all covered in dirt. That was so embarrassing. Hailey, her best friend chalked it up to be somnambulism and that was a hard pill to swallow. ¡°Luna! Luna! Luna, wake up! Honey you are soaked in wet you need to shower and change.¡± Her mother shouted. ¡°Hmmmm, Ag¡± yawned Luna extending her slender hand to get a ss of water from her bedside table only to realize that she was not in her room. As she opened her sleepy eyes a petit dark-haired woman with piercing green eyes came into focus. ¡°Hurry Luna unless u wanna bete for school again. This thing is getting worse.¡± ¡°What the¡­¡± she muttered as she got out of the tub wondering how she managed to get this wet sleeping in a tub without water. ¡°I¡¯m ok mom. No need to get all worked up about this; I couldn¡¯t sleep so I just came down here to do a bit of exercising got tired and I must¡¯ve dozed off. What time is it anyway?¡± she asked. ¡°Dozed off u say. It¡¯s 6:15AM so you better get a move on if you don¡¯t want to be Luna ran upstairs took the wet clothes off and got into the shower. The cold water felt so soothing on her body. Lately Luna had not been able to tolerate hot showers as she was always heated. ¡°What the hell is wrong with me? Why is this happening to me. This needs to stop¡± she muttered as she breathed heavily in the shower with tears streaming down her flushed cheeks. ¡°Oh God what have I done to deserve this?¡± Luna remained under the running shower for about ten minutes getting herself cleaned while trying to make sense of what had been happening to her. If only someone could help her make sense of it all. It all started on the night of her 17th birthday. She had this dream for the first time and that is the first time that she had his episode. If they signed her up for therapy when they thought that she got drunk on the night of her 17th birthday she didn¡¯t even want to think of what they¡¯d do if she told them that she cked out and woke up in the middle of nowhere with blood on her hands and face after her first somnambulism episode two months ago. Thank God this time wasn¡¯t that bad, and she awoke in the basement instead. She walked to her dresser to grab a pair of high waist jeans and underwear while drying her long ck hair with a towel. She pulled the jeans up her legs and buttoned them at her waist. ¡°Perfect¡± she muttered quietly to herself while admiring herself in the full-length wall mirror in her bedroom. She put on a spaghetti strap pink top and put on matching jeans jacket. ¡°Luna what the heck are you doing up there, are you purposely trying to bete?¡± ¡°Coming mom!¡± she shouted as she quickly grabbed her backpack and phone while taking onest look at herself in the mirror before leaving. ¡°what¡¯s for breakfast? I smell sausages, bacon and eggs, toast and pancakes. What¡¯s the asion? Why the variety this morning mom?¡± ¡°Wow, you look great!¡± her mother eximed ¡°it¡¯s almost as if you¡¯re excited to be back at school.¡± She ignored her mother¡¯sment and proceeded to grab a te which she stacked with toast bacon, sausages and some eggs. She then poured herself a ss of orange juice and asked, ¡°Hey where¡¯s Michael anyway.¡± Michael was her stepfather, practically her father as he had been raising her since her father was brutally killed eight years ago in a robbery. Michael had been the detective assigned to her father¡¯s case and had taken a liking to her mother. ¡°OH, he left early this morning, you know how it is.¡± ¡°Wellter then¡±, she said as she started walking out the door with her backpack. ¡°Luna! Aren¡¯t you forgetting something?¡± her mother smiled. She ran back inside and gave her mother a kiss on the cheek. ¡°See youter mom!¡± she shouted as she rushed out the door. ¡°Well deep breath Luna, it¡¯s just college.¡± She secretly hoped that it would be nothing like high school where everything that could possibly go wrong to a young girl happened to her. Chapter 2 Luca Chapter 2 Luca The night was young and the scent of pinecones from the nearby forest filled the air. The full moon was only a week away and Luca could feel it¡¯s power already. All of his senses heightened, his strength, agility his precision. Everything was perfect since his first shift two months ago during the full moon. He was to start college at Atticamunity college to keep up appearances as his mother was human a half breed with alpha blood and appearances had to be maintained to safeguard the family wealth passed down to him after his mother¡¯s death 8 years ago. His father had returned to the pack, and he was left with his caregiver Nancy who was his mother¡¯s best friend after he had mastered his shifts. He was to be Alpha of his pack after his father passes but he wasn¡¯t worried about that kind of responsibility as his father was well revered for his strength and feared by all who¡¯d crossed his path. Since his shift in spite of being the son of a half breed, he was the son of an Alpha, a Lycan. His father could bring forth his fangs, ws, and make use of all the wolf¡¯s strengths and senses without fully transforming and apparently so could he something that he chose to keep from his father to be permitted toe study here at Attica. Had his father known how special Luca was, he never would have permitted this, appearances or not. To have an heir who was just like him to have inherited the Lycan trait is an honor above all others. That was a secret that he would have to keep from his father to follow his heart; better yet the vision that he had during his first shift of a beautiful white wolf with blue and green eyes. All the she wolves of the pack were crazy about him. They would literally throw themselves at him it was ridiculous. He could have anyone of his choosing but he really loved a challenge. He wanted to experience the thrill of the chase; something that did not that it was highly unlikely that he would find her, but he felt the urge to try. Luca looked up at the sky and took a deep breath while asking the moon goddess to bless him. It is said that the Lycans were direct descendants of the goddess and still shared a connection with her. Luca was yet to understand this but all he cared about right now was finding the white wolf that consumed his being ever since his first shift. ¡°Luca, Dinner is ready!¡± Nancy called from downstairs. Luca took a deep breath and smiled to himself as he instantly presented himself to the dinner table. ¡°Show off!¡± muttered Sorah, Nancy¡¯s half breed daughter. Sorah was half wolf like Nancy and half Fay. An abomination as some would call her. But to those who knew her she was the sweetest youngdy ever and she had the looks to go along with it. She was not as magical as her Fay father as she grew up in the human world with her mother. She growled at him as her eyes changed to its pink color. She was very worried about Luca¡¯s presence as she knew how special he was. ¡°Nance, you worry too much. Chicken?¡± Nancy smiled and addressed the matter at hand. ¡°You¡¯ve turned 17 and have had your first shift. It is time to choose a mate. Luca should be able to take care of himself being the next alfa of his pack and all, shouldn¡¯t he be able to handle a few horny girls?¡± sheughed. That night as Lucay down to sleep, he stared out at the night sky and the thought of the beautiful white wolf consumed him and he fell into dreand where his dreams were only of her. Luca didn¡¯t quite understand what the rush was about getting a mate. He knew that it would take some time before that actually happened. He knew of some werewolves and Lycans who went through their whole lives without finding their mates and lived normal lives like humans did. That deep connection that he¡¯d heard so much about had not been experienced by them. If he didn¡¯t find a mate it wouldn¡¯t be so bad. He had she wolves bending over backwards for him. All the young and avable she wolves of his pack were at his feet. All he had to do was ask and they would present themselves to him. It did help that he was going to be the next Alpha when his father stepped down and that he was filthy rich. Everyone wanted to be his mate, but a mate was something else. It was not like simply feeling attracted to someone and wanting to be with them it was so much more than that. It was a gift or curse bestowed onto werewolves by the goddess herself. Finding one¡¯s mate is the most important milestones in a wolf¡¯s life. One wolf found his mate by looking into her eyes; Another was found after they bumped into each other identally. Some go through their whole lives not finding their mates as one¡¯s mate is not always found within one¡¯s pack. That is one of the reasons that his father started the annual mixer with the nearby packs. A week-long activity where the full moon pack hosts young men and women who be of age within that year. The mixer has proved to be a great help and several of the pack members had found mates in this way however it is more difficult for those whose mates belong to other species like humans or witches or fairies, vampires or sworn enemies. The chances of him finding a mate this year was highly unlikely and he chose not to worry himself too much about that even though he had promised his dad he would choose a mate at the end of the school year. He had enough girls to keep him distracted and satisfied. It was a bit more difficult as he was a Lycan and so much stronger than a typical ware wolf making it difficult to have intercourse with humans. It was dangerous as he could seriously hurt them. It would be a task. Chapter 3 The Scent Chapter 3 The Scent Luna got off the bus and stood outside the college taking in the scenery. She thought to herself ¡°Boy is this really a school?¡± the school was newly built and sat on 15 acres of beautiful gently slopingnd bordering with the nearby woods. There were several fountains, 3 ponds and a river right out back passing through the property. As she walked over to the directory, she realized that the main campus buildingprised of 6 floors and the dorms were out back. The other buildings like the cafeteria, library and A huge garage were spread out at different locations on the campus. Luna took onest deep breath and walked on to enter the school. She had to head over to the Dean¡¯s office to get her schedule as she had somest-minute changes made. Luna as she walked up to the dean¡¯s office, she caught wind of the most captivating fragrance that had her looking around to try to get to the source of it. The fragrance filled her senses as it calmed her and made her feel like she needed to be near that scent. She started to follow the scent but instead bumped head on into a pole trying to avoid a collision with a young man skating his way through the hall. It was partly her fault as she like an idiot had her eyes closed trying to follow the scent. ¡°The fuck is wrong with you!¡±, she shouted at him as she frantically started to pick up her phone on the ground. ¡°And look, it¡¯s broken. Who goes round skating their way through a hall anyway? The hell do u have legs for anyway.¡± ¡°I¡¯m so sorry¡± the blonde-haired hippy apologized. ¡°I¡¯m just sote for my business ss, please don¡¯t report me I promise I will have your phone repaired. Where were you headed anyway?There¡¯s nothing over there. Dean¡¯s office is the other way Just the men¡¯s washrooms in the end of the hall. Unless you¡¯re a dude and that¡¯s where you were headed.¡± He smiled slyly. ¡°Oh,¡± she responded flushed. ¡°I didn¡¯t realize I¡¯m actually headed to the dean¡¯s office. Must have walked right passed it. You know what never mind about the phone, it¡¯s just a chip off the edge, no worries.¡± He apologized once more an took off on foot this time with his skates in hand. Luna put the captivating scent to the back of her mind and made her way to the Dean¡¯s office wondering what had she¡¯d evere across but it was masculine. It¡¯s not like she could as whomever owned it the name of his perfume as she couldn¡¯t wear men¡¯s perfume. ¡°Luna please for the love of god, Get a hold of yourself. This is college, this is an opportunity to make a difference, good impressions. Get your head in the game. After the untimely loss of her father years ago she made it her duty to learn all that she could about the body and to y a part in helping people. She found that nursing was the best way to do that. Looking back; she remembered the time when she fell of her bike at age 7 and fractured her left arm, she recalled how loving and caring the nurses on the pediatric ward were and this experience also yed an integral role in her decision to sturdy nursing today. The only thing she had a problem with was the fact that this college had made itpulsory that every student partake in their gym program and that those grades be added to their GPA. Luca and Sorah walked up to the school with Sorah on his arm portraying the image of a power couple. He smiled slyly as he listened to the whispers of the girls. He felt sorry for them as he knew that he looked good and was practically irresistible to them. Hell, the she wolves of his pack all wanted him let alone human girls. Everything about him was so enticing that sometimes he thought it to be a curse rather than a gift. Sorah threw him a look as if to say show off and clung to his arm and asked that he apany her to the Dean¡¯s office to see about some stuff. He agreed as he gave her a kiss on the cheek while letting her know that he had to pick up his schedule from the office as well. As they entered the office, he was greeted by a middle-ageddy who seemed to be the administrative assistant. He stated his business, smiled at her, collected his schedule and went to use the Gent¡¯s restroom toward the end of the hall leaving Sorah to tend to her business. Sorah left the office and made her way to her first ss of the day¡­¡­Anatomy. Being a nursing Student anatomy was a necessity. Sorah loved the notion that someday sooner rather thanter that she would be a nurse, someone who could help heal mankind¡¯s ails and actually make a difference in the world. Being a Fay, she had a knack for herbs and wanted to specialize in natural and Traditional medicines. She had a connection with the herbs. Being part Fay and part wolf, she found herself caught between two worlds. She couldn¡¯t shift to bring her wolf out and had not inherited her father¡¯s magic either what she had inherited was the wolf¡¯s gifts and the ability tomunicate with her inner wolf. As a consequence of her deficits, it made it much easier to live with the humans. She didn¡¯t have to worry about the full moon nor did she have to worry about controlling any Fay magic because she had none. ¡°Well, Sorah, Let¡¯s see what this school year has in stock for you. Here goes nothing¡± she muttered to herself. chapter 4 A New Friend chapter 4 A New Friend Sorah walked down the aisle to her Anatomy ss to take a seat when she noticed this beautiful youngdy seated at the front of the ss. She was mesmerized by her beauty. Sorah was a looker herself but there was something about that girl that just set her apart. She walked into the ss and walked past Luna to take a seat behind her. Her eyes were as blue as the most beautiful ocean¡¯s waters, her hair and brows were white as snow and wlessly long reaching her broad hips. Not a strand out of ce. She was a size 4 and was so beautiful that she didn¡¯t seem human. Her butt was beautiful. ¡°OMG she¡¯s got everything, looks, ass, hips; everything a woman needed to have guys groveling.¡± ¡°Stop it!¡± she said to herself. Sorah surprised herself with her admiration of this girl. ¡°The hell is your problem. You¡¯re not even a dude admiring this girl as if you were one.¡± She smiled to herself as she started to take her books from her back pack to get ready for ss. She thought to herself how she had promised to make the best of this school year. She really had to get her ducks in a row if she were to do well. Anatomy was not her strong suit. She definitely would be needing some help with it if she were to get the grades that she needed. Luna looked toward the entrance of her anatomy ss as she got a faint hint of the scent which had captivated her earlier throwing her off bnce when a beautiful red-haired girl walked into the ss room. She was not surprised that that she had traces of the scent as this girl was a knock out and of course this enticing masculine scent must have a rtionship with her. Though disappointed Luna looked at the girl as she walked right past her to take her seat. She was the most beautiful red-haired girl that she ever saw. This girl was about her size and about 5¡¯ 4¡± with beautiful green eyes. ¡°What abination¡± Luna thought to herself as she jealously admired Sorah and the fact that she must have a rtionship to this scent didn¡¯t make it any easier to stop admiring her. This girl had a certain air of authority around her. I wonder if she would want to be my friend. ¡°Ughh¡± she thought to herself as she realized that friends were something that she wascking and never had a good track record when it came to making or keeping friends. She was taken back to a memory of her years of childhood when her friend Hailey and stopped talking to her when she wanted to be friends with a group of popr middle school girls and made fun of her white hair along with them. They became friends again in high school actually best friends. At least that¡¯s what she thought until the night of her 17th birthday when she¡¯d spiked Luna¡¯s drink and filmed her making a fool of herself to the point where Luna had gotten so upset that she could do nothing but run away into the nearby woods where she felt like she¡¯d be arge white wolf. Luna remembered feeling the need to hunt but then she awoke stark naked the next morning with blood on her hands and face as he looked at herself in the waters of the pond. She quickly washed herself up and started to run. Until she passed out. When she awoke, she found herself in a police car covered with a nket. They cop questioned her and then took her home to her mom and stepdad who were so upset. Hailey had started to drift when a few months before her birthday Luna had somnambulism episode and awoke in Hailey¡¯s yard covered in dirt. She did make herself a promise that she would make the best of her years at college. So maybe she should give it a try. She felt drawn to this new girl. Ut she was not entirely sure whether she should try to talk to her or if she did whether she wouldn¡¯t embarrass her or hell she probably thought that she was weird. Luna had started to turn her head to say hi but quickly changed her mind. ¡°If she wants to talk to you, she will. So, in the meantime keep your mouth shut before you ruin your entire college life.¡± She thought to herself. ¡°But it would be so great to at least make one friend on your first day. Least I would have one thing pleasant to talk about at dinner.¡± She shrugged wile touching he long white hair. ¡°Why didn¡¯t you at least color this hair. It¡¯s gonna be the death of you. Yeah right.¡± She muttered as she remembered also promising to be herself and not changing anything about herself to please anyone. ¡°If they can¡¯t like all of you then they¡¯re not worth your time.¡± She took a deep breath and rxed. Right then Sorah had asked a chubby girl sitting next to Luna to switch seats with her. The girl dly agreed. ¡°Hi, I¡¯m Sorah.¡± She said extending a hand out to her. bbergasted by the gesture, Luna took hold of her hand. ¡°I¡¯m Luna. Pleased to make your acquaintance.¡± She replied. Sorah smiled warmly at her thinking to herself how well this went. ¡°God your hair is so beautiful. Is it your natural color? Always wanted to color mine white but not bold enough.¡± Luna smiled shyly not knowing whether Sorah was being genuine or just gathering ammunition to make a fool of her like Hailey had. But what the hell. ¡°It is natural. Somehow, I never got around to coloring it. I had been so busy you know getting ready for school.¡± Before the conversation could ensue, they were interrupted by their Anatomy teacher who greeted the ss and delved right in to the topic at hand. Luna was very happy to have be more or less acquainted with one person even though she had no idea how she was tied to the scent that filled up her senses and practically hypnotized her. She was happy to be at school and to have seemingly made one new friend who seemed genuine. She hoped that Sorah was genuine as she sooo needed a good friend. She thought about all the things that she had been through. She had lost her father a few years ago. She had never known her mother as she was raised by her father¡¯s girlfriend who never saw the need to legally adopt her. All her legal stuff was taken care of by a friend of her stepdads¡¯ from social services. For the lie of her she never understood why her stepmom had never legally adopted her. She had not given up on her after her dad died but it would have been nice to belong. It was thinking about these things that made her miss her parents so much. She had started feeling like aplete stranger after the incident that happened on her birthday when they choose to believe that she had self esteem issues and set her up with a shrink. That was the incident that had caused her to start longing for biological family. She had secretly hoped that she had family out there with whom she could rte. It was not so much her stepmom but more her stepdad. When she had been brought home naked and dirty by those police officers that embarrassed him as he was a police officer himself. Luna wanted to tell them what actually happened but they would never understand and probably have hermitted. Who would believe that she got upset, ran into the woods and turned to an animal? She needed to act as normal as possible and she needed to find a way to control the transformations if they ever happened again. All in all, Luna was happy to have found a friend. She decided to make the best of it. She may even color her hair if needs be to seem more normal. Chapter 5 Lucas Predicament Chapter 5 Luca''s Predicament Luca walked into his ssroom and took a seat in the back. He smiled to himself as he listened to the chattering of the girls and the enviousments from the guys in his ssroom as used his enhanced hearing abilities that was natural to him. One girl practically walked into her locker while staring at him. Lucaughed to himself for he didn¡¯t know that attending college with humans would be so amusing. He really would have to be extra careful as he could see that he would require no effort to getid here. His professor walked in and he thanked the goddess that he was not a female as this was way too much attention for one man. You would think that people came here to learn but to Luca it seemed like a whole buffet for choosing a mate well partner as humans don¡¯t use the term mate. He was actually grateful that Nancy had set him up with Sorah. Initially he didn¡¯t think it necessary but apparently, he was wrong. Come to think of it Sorah would do good at passing the time as she was very beautiful, with those green eyes that are to die for and her perfectly shaped body. He couldn¡¯tin. Nancy always had his best interest at heart. The hookup with Sorah would be ok for now ... that is until she finds someone that she wants to get serious with. Luca was never really that interested in leading the pack but had to take on that responsibility as he was his father¡¯s only child. He secretly prayed that the moon goddess would smile upon his father once more and bless him with a son to lead the pack. He would then be relieved of this burden. But one cannot force love. His father was after all a handsome man and still very young at that. There was still hope. Luca chose to not give up on this wish. He was brought back to reality by the sound of a young Jock¡¯s voice asking him whether he signed up for the wrestling team. ¡°No, I y basketball and run track.¡± He answered. ¡°Too bad¡± the boy replied with a disappointed look on his face. Luca possessed super human strength and knew that it would be too easy to hurt a human so he chose to keep away from sports that highlighted strength and violence. Now he not only had to be careful with the girls and their raging hormones but he now had to worry about not hurting the guys. But it was all worth it. He persuaded his father to put his trust in him and he was not one to go back on his word or fall short. Maybe if he did well, he could persuade his dad to let him stay closer to the city. While he could understand the importance of learning a secondnguage especially given his family¡¯s business, he was not good at Spanish. He would definitely be needing some help in that area.
