《Tales of Light》 XIX. Unit Zero "I have a question..." Said Zyxo. Who was staring at a training ground full soldiers training. "Ask anything you want." Said Syther. "I''ve noticed that there are more of each type of duplicates except the Salvaged modeled. They appear to be able to make quick decisions on the battlefield and are more skilled than the rest." Syther looks away, scratching his face with one of his left hands, then said. "Yes, they are very proficient in battle, but not as reliable then the rest." Zyxo''s curiosity peaked. He wondered why Syther said that. "What do you mean? The general who has them said that they are some of the best troops that they could have." Annoyed, Syther stared intently at the training of the new batch. He was silent for a few minutes before he said anything. Then with a seething voice, "They''re failures, tedious to make, harder to control... and question orders as well as disobeys them. They tend to be very passive aggressive when they receive orders they don''t like. They are only good soldiers until they get upset. They will intentionally formulate losing strategy and ignore orders just because they consider their leader unfit. Unlike the rest of the copies, they don''t come out all looking the same. They are IMPERFECT." You might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version. One of the Salvage clones, that had a zero marking on their helmet looked up at Syther. Who was standing above them. Staring intently for a minute. Another trooper saw it as a chance and charged at him with his shield. He turned its right arm and shot the trooper, and taking the trooper out without breaking eye contact with Syther. The zero helmet one then preceded to raise his left hand in front of him and flipped off Syther. "I think you might have hurt his feelings." Said Zyxo. Turning to Syther with a smile. Syther who was cool the entire time was now visibly angry. He said trying to remain calm, "It doesn''t have feelings. It is a tool." Syther starts to walk away in a semi-fury of rage, but Zyxo stopped him before he got to far. "A few of the Salvaged types show enhanced strength. There are almost as strong me, able to lift up to ten times their own strength..." Zyxo paused for a moment, looking back at the training that just ended. "There''s one in particular that sometimes release electricity." Syther took a deep breath and responded. "I don''t know what you are talking about. Enhanced abilities were still in their beta state before they were abandoned. The soldier proved to be unstable and posed a risk to their allies when enhanced. But one who poses electricity, preposterous! None of them would have that." "But the Salvaged units are unique in their own way. You''ve said it yourself, they are ''tedious to produce''." "Yes, there are many unknown factors and genes in those units, including unstable genes. But what you are saying could be a possibility... But very unlikely because we have never encounter ones that have the abilities you claim to have seen. Anyways, I have another batch to inspect." Syther then turns around and leaves the view dock where Zyxo stayed. Watching the training field being cleaned up. XXI. The Pink Knight Have ever heard the legend of the Pink Knight? He rides upon a white horse, symbolizing his arrival to his foes. His armor is pink and shines on a sunny day, standing out from his surroundings. He his armed with only a long narrow javelin which is also pink. When he''s near you can hear the sound of his armor clattering like rain. He only appears during a sunny day, where he stands out the most, and yet the sound of rain follows. After he''s gone the rain will come and wash away his trail. He''s good fortune for farms, but a nightmare to knights and all who oppose him. He resides is in the Wicked Forest on sunny days waiting for a challenger. It''s said that those who face him suffer humiliation at the hand of defeat. He challenges them to jousting match. The rules are simple, each side charges at the other, there are no limits on what weapons they can use, and they win if the opponent retreats or a falls of their horse. Many skilled warriors challenge, and one by one they fell. They could not knock the Pink Knight of his horse. No matter how hard they tried or how any times they returned, they failed over and over. The sound of thunder was heard after every match, signifying his victory. It is said that he waits there for the one who is worthy to defeat him. It is said the one who is worthy to defeat them will receive a blessing of victory and bestow them a legendary item that grants the user unparalleled strength. Said Master Zyxo. "I believe you here to monitor the development of your future batches?" Said Syther. "Yes." In a menacing tone Syther responded, "Come with me." They all walked down a hall of glass that showed the stages of development. Finally they walk into a balcony that showed the army training. "Tell us more about the Troops." Said Kray in a firm tone. "Yes, aren''t they perfect." Said Syther. "Well nothings perfect." Said Zyxo with enthusiasm. Syther ignored him and carried on with his speech. "If you haven''t noticed by now. We have three variety of clones, because if we had all the same type them they would be fairly weak towards bio-based attacks. It takes 16 c-years to grow them, or 8 human years. After that they reach 8 years they grow more slowly; about 1.5 regular years. This ensures that they are in peak physical condition longer." His eyes were as lifeless as the dark sky. His pupils looked like they were ghosts. Zyxo interrupted Syther''s stare, "Sorry about Elder Kray, he''s over 120 years old. He''s a great teacher but a poor listener." "It''s quite alright," said Syther in monotone, "I do tend to go on long tangents about our most recent success... Anyways, as I was saying. Each type is different. They were made out of three of the best warriors in the galaxy." Syther pause for a minute, staring off in the distance before continuing on. "Of course you met one of them... Jero Jettz. The Jero Jettz''s clones make a majority of the batches. Jettz''s has good limb dexterity. XX''s are efficient at being commander and leading. Lightshock''s excel in brute strength." There was silence for a few minutes. "What about the fourth one?" Asked Zyxo. Syther was silent for a minute before he answered. "Fourth?" "Yeah, I remember seeing a few that didn''t match any that ." "Yes... the fourth one.... Well we don''t actually know much about it. Samples were given to us by Jia, after a trip to a deadzone. These clones are very intriguing. Around the age of 12 they excel from combat to thinking. They mature much slower than the others. We call the templet Salvaged. It was discontinued a few centuries ago due to... complications." "What kind?" Grunted Elder Kray. "That information was redacted. You''ll have to ask a former project worker." "But they''re all dead." Responded Zyxo. "That''s your problem." Syther said as he walked away, leaving Elder Kray and Zyxo free to do what they please. The Awakening "It''s time... you have felt it. We all felt it. Something has awaken... Powerful... Balanced..." Said the very old shaman. "It has returned. More of them are awakening... Soon they will rise. And the cycle will begin again. The endless battle between good and evil... and in the center balance will come. Heed my words carefully like my master before me and his, beware of the false god, the balance is strong but easily distruped, do not trust them for they can be your greatest ally or foe. When pink and black collide, fate has been sealed and destiny inevitable. For the Fallen will rise and consume all. For they are not evil or good, they are balance." Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings."What does it mean?" Asked Nezt. "What it means is not what is important, understand it you must. Interpret what it means and it will guide you. Before I go. Can you feel it? The forces rising in power? It''s been so long since I''ve felt it. Not since the rise and fall of the order have I felt such disturbance. Something is coming. Be prepared for the Oncoming Storm. A dark time is coming and we all must be prepared. Find others like you... gifted. United you will rise, but divided you will..." the shaman closed his eyes for the last time and died a peaceful death. Unbeknownst to Nezt, the fate that lies ahead... Rei:Incarnation
I fell into my own nightmare
I can''t see clearly anymore.
Slipping into a dark despair
That eats me down to my own core.
I need someone to help me
As I''m drowning in my own shadow
I see you in your dreams, and
I''ll nonetheless be there, even in your nightmares.
Silently I will hold your hands tight
Through the endless nights and the darkest of days.
Don''t you know, I will guide you through the dark,
as you reach up towards the sky.
I will break all the star,
if it means you''ll smile again.
Take my hand, and we''ll own the night
let me be your light, put your faith in me
When you''re lost and all alone, I''ll be here
in a world without an end, together with your soul The Red Eyed Men Have you heard the story of the Red Eyed Men. It''s said they watch children who are home alone at night. They wait outside politely for you to come out. Their eyes red as blood, teeth as yellow as ripe bananas, and dressed in a nice tux suit. Their laughs are like little children as their teeth chatter. You can try to let them in but they''ll as wait outside, saying, "No, please step outside. I don''t bite." They always wait in the front of the house or in the window if you''re in the room. No one has ever seen the face of them. No one has ever heard of them but they''ve always been here. No one knows what happens to the kids. Some have said that they have seen the Red Eyed Men''s teeth stained in red. Just remember wherever you''re alone at night, the Red Eyed Men are always watching. If you see a red glow in the night, never go out side. For the Red Eyed Men may bite. If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement. III. The Last Ones In the ruins of castle coloured black sat a tall shadowy figure in a black decrepit throne throne surrounded by rubble. Two more shadowy figures sat on each side of the throne. "I''m bored!" Said the left shadow. "Let''s do something fun Talcot." The right shadow responded, "Like what Zare?" "I don''t know!? Something exciting!" Zare said as she leaned on the throne poking the shadow on the throne. "Please stop that..." said the throne shadow. "Sure..." Zare smiled and continued to poke the throne shadow. "...when you get a life..." She stared at the sky for a minute then finished her sentence. "...What about you Laz? Have any ideas?" "Our orders were to wait for the Lord to return. So we should wait for his return." Laz said, still being poked by Zare. "Really?" Zara said, her attention returned to a skull that was lying on the ground. "We''ve been doing this same stupid task since we could fight." "You didn''t say that when we were attacked." Laz said, relieved that Zare stopped poking Laz''s face. "Look at this decrepit fortress!!" Her voice echoed throughout the halls of the castle. "See!! It''s so empty that my voice echoes through the place!!" Zare placed the skull over her head. With a clatter from the skull, "This place is literally falling apart. And worst of all there''s no one here except for US!!!'' The walls echoed back US!!! US!! US! us! us. As the sound faded into the distance. "I mean why are we even still here?" Support the creativity of authors by visiting Royal Road for this novel and more. "Well the Lord did take care of us when those savages destroyed and burned our home into the ground," Talcot said. "Plus it would be rude of us to not return the favor." He paused for a moment to put on a white knight''s helmet. "Sure the place isn''t as graceful as it once was, or that it''s hot during the summer seasons, or that a castle colored black is a really dumb idea." Zare kicked a piece of the fallen ceiling, "How long have we been here? He would''ve been back by now." The piece of ceiling hit against the wall, cracking it a little. "Sigh..." Said Laz, "This is why I don''t have nice things. You''re too rough with stuff." "No, it''s because you don''t get sturdy stuff." Zare snarled back. "Hate to but in on this interesting conversation," Talcot interrupted, "...but whose''s turn is it to find food? I''m really hungry." "Well I guess you''ll just have to wait Tally, we''ve got company." Laz picked up a helmet that had a smile and placed it over own head. "Let''s have some fun!" Talcot and Zare said in unison. Zare and Talcot jumped up from their positions onto two small separate platforms above the throne, and seated themselves upon them.
"Come on!" A girl''s voice voice in the distance said. "We''re almost there!" "Do we have to explore this place. It''s dark and creepy." Another voice said. From the sound Laz assumed it was a boys. A few more voices, about two more, they were another boy and a girl. "Are we almost there?" The other girl said. "Yeah it''s just a few meters away." Said the other boy. The party entered the throne room. "See there''s nothing to be afraid of..." said the first girl, "...there''s even statues." The first boy as he approached Laz and poked her face, "They look so life like, and feel life like?" "It''s rude to poke a girl, didn''t your parents teach you manners?" Laz said, smirking. He stared at Laz then jumped back. Rei:Incarnation - Deaths Chat ¡°What pain those two were.¡± Death let out a sigh of relief. A high-pitched voice came behind Death, ¡°There were interesting though.¡± A small child climbs over Death¡¯s throne and lies on Death¡¯s head. ¡°You weren¡¯t the one talking to them. They were mean... especially the girl!¡± Death whinnied. ¡°You¡¯re always so sensitive.¡± Giggled the child and replied in a singsong tone, ¡°You need to grow a spine.¡± ¡°You¡¯re just bare to the bone. Hehehe... hahaha ahahaha!!!!!¡± Another voice said. This voice was a lower pitch than the child, but higher than Deaths. Metal could be heard wherever it moved and spoke. ¡°Goddammit.¡± Death murmured. ¡°You must really hate yourself.¡± The voice replied. Death¡¯s mouth cracked open with substantial force, ¡°It¡¯s a figure of speech!¡± ¡°Like you?¡± The voice snarled back. Death was silent for a minute before he responded in a neutral tone, ¡°Shut it, tin can.¡± Death got up from its throne and the child jumped off back to the head of the chair. Death started a blue flame behind Death¡¯s chair and its eyes and chest core shined bright red flames. With dominant force, Death commanded, ¡°You dare mock a god! A supreme being! A creature of the night who claims the souls of the living and dead alike! I am the end! I am the beginning! I am Judgment!¡± The voice replied with a deep growly voice, ¡°I¡¯m Batman.¡± Death¡¯s mouth drops wide open, ¡°What are you going on about?¡± Death questions. ¡°Hehehehehe... numbskull.¡± The metallic voice was wheezing. ¡°Don¡¯t be so hard on him.¡± the child said giggling, ¡°He works down to his bones to get his job done.¡± Enjoying the story? Show your support by reading it on the official site. ¡°Yeah, he¡¯s just bonely.¡± The voice wheezing more. ¡°You¡¯re all mean.¡± Death grumbled. ¡°Quit Skull-king around!¡± The child said, ¡°We¡¯re just having a good time. You should learn to grow a spine.¡± The child stood up on top of the throne hopped down. The child stretched her arms yawning, ¡°Yaaawn... anyway, shouldn¡¯t you... ahh... be doing something else?¡± ¡°Nah!¡± The voice screeching. Two glowing yellow eyes came, the sound of metal softly scraping. Out of the shadow came a green, slouching figure. The voice was tall, standing around fifteen feet when standing straight up. Its long neck ridged like its back. Its stomach sleeks around the waist with black faults extending down to its knees. Around its knees were black narrow diamond-shaped poleyn. On each foot, there were three long claws and a fourth in the back. His chest was a green orb with two chest plates and pointed upwards shoulder pads next to it. On each arm were black-colored rhombus, but looked more like fangs. His lower arms were pointed elbow guards that were fused to his arms. Near the end of his gauntlets was another pair of spikes sticking outwards. His helmet had two black spikes near the tip pointing upwards, two more pointing downwards, and a single one point down from his chin. His face had an elongated mouth with sharp metal teeth and two narrow slits for eyes. ¡°You changed your colors!¡± The child approached him and shouted, ¡°I like this better Lanzar!!!¡± ¡°Thanks, Life.¡± Cackled Lanzar, patting Life¡¯s head with his long sharp fingers. His gaze turns back to Death. Lanzar cackled, ¡°So... Did someone special come by...? Perhaps two...?¡± His metallic voice hissing, ¡°With a third on the way?¡± Death stared for a minute before speaking. ¡°... Shit.¡± Death commanded, leaning on his hand, ¡°I¡¯m going to do this again...¡± Sitting back down, Death facepalms, ¡°I hope it¡¯s going to be quick.¡± ¡°Toodles!¡± Lanzar wheezes walking off. As he fads off in the distance singing, ¡°Forever to play! An eternity to cry! You can try to pray, but all you can do is die. What will break first? Your heart or your mind.¡± ¡°I like him.¡± Life giggled. ¡°Really? That metallic sack of¨C¡± Life interrupted Death. ¡°You said you would stop swearing.¡± Life cried. Life then went on telling him about something else, ¡°You know that boy we revived?¡± ¡°What about him?¡± Death scoffed. ¡°Guess what body I gave him?¡± ¡°Ah shit.¡± Death thought to himself. ¡°I shouldn¡¯t have let her chosen.¡± Death sat back down on its chair and spoke to Life. ¡°What did you give him?¡± ¡°One of the oldest creatures in existence!¡± Life raised her hands. ¡°¡ That¡¯s actually not that bad. For a minute I thought you- Wait, which one?¡± Concerned Death. ¡°Um¡ I can¡¯t remember!!¡± Life laughed. ¡°Why¡ Why¡ would you¨C?¡± Death felt another presence. ¡°We¡¯ll talk later about this.¡± ¡°OOO, it¡¯s two at once!¡± Life exclaimed. Death sighed, ¡°I hate this job sometimes.¡± Rei:Incarnation - Deaths Guest Two people moved around in the darkness, unable to see each other as they wandered aimlessly in the dark. They didn¡¯t know how much time had passed or that they were being observed by Death. ¡°So, are you going to talk to them?¡± Life asked Death. ¡°I really don¡¯t want to. Plus, we¡¯re in a place where time is relevant. I can take as long as I want.¡± Death replied. ¡°Yeah,¡± Life sat on a mini throne right next to Deaths. She then laughed, ¡°but you¡¯ll just be piling up work to do later.¡± Death sighed, ¡°Yeah... you¡¯re right¡ but I really don¡¯t want to. What if they¡¯re like the previous ones?¡± Life hopped off her tiny throne onto Death¡¯s armrest and patted his boney head. ¡°Just do it.¡± ¡°Fine,¡± Death groaned. He waved his hands and summoned both of the souls. ¡°It¡¯s about time!¡± Life hoped back down to her throne, which was now in front of Death¡¯s throne. ¡°Where am I?¡± Asked one of the souls. ¡°Who is there?¡± The other one said. ¡°Ah shit, they¡¯re both girls,¡± Death groaned. ¡°What¡¯s wrong with that?¡± Life questioned Death, curious as to why he said that. Death went on a rant, ¡°With humans, you either get decent ones or complete fucktards. Do you know how many times I¡¯ve heard ¡®I want to speak to your manager?¡¯ I¡¯m Death. There is no force in existence that governs me.¡± ¡°So what does that have to do with girls?¡± Life wanted to know. ¡°They¡¯re so annoying! Especially the older they are. No, I will not give you your ideal body. I¡¯m not going to listen to your list of thirty things you want!¡± ¡°You know we can hear you.¡± The first soul said. Death¡¯s mouth dropped wide open. He forgot they could hear him. Clearing his throat, Death said, ¡°To be honest, I hate you all the same. Annoying little shits, calling me evil.¡± ¡°What about¡ª¡± The first soul was cut off by Death. ¡°Nope! This is over! We¡¯re starting over!¡± Death sent the souls away with a wave of his arm. Death had a moment of silence to collect his thoughts before bringing them back. ¡°Hello,¡± Death said, ¡°As you can guess, you¡¯re dead.¡± The second soul started freaking out and crying, ¡°I¡¯m dead! But I was alive not too long ago.¡± ¡°Finally, a normal response,¡± Death thought to himself. The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings. ¡°Ok. So now what?¡± Asked the first soul. ¡°Well, fear not. We¡¯ve decided to take pity on your miserable existence. All of those days bounded to a chair. Doomed to watch as your existence passed by without you. Never fully in the present and always stuck in the past. On the what if¡¯s. You¡¯ll have a new life.¡± ¡°Really?¡± Asked the second soul, wiping away her tears. ¡°What about everyone else?¡± ¡°You¡¯ll forget them if you want that.¡± Life said. Both souls stared at the little girl sitting in front of Death. ¡°Who¡¯s the little girl?¡± Asked the first girl. ¡°This little girl is the reason you¡¯re all alive,¡± Life chuckled. ¡°I¡¯m Life. I guess you can say I¡¯m the mother of all or whatever you call it.¡± Life got up from her throne and walked over to the second soul. ¡°You¡¯ll go first.¡± Life placed her hand on the second soul¡¯s nose. The soul flashed out of existence. ¡°And you¡¯re second. Boop!¡± ¡°Are we done with reincarnations?¡± Death asked, his head resting on his boney arm. ¡°Can we judge some souls, or literally anything else. I really need to hire another intern.¡± ¡°Nope! We¡¯re not understaffed anymore!¡± Life hopped onto Death¡¯s lap. ¡°Finally!¡± Death exclaimed. Death summoned a large blue, glowing mirror. ¡°Now to see what we have for entertainment.¡± Death waved his hands to scroll through the mirror-like a couch-potato flipping through the channel on the telly. ¡°Silver?¡± Asked Death. ¡°Nah, he¡¯s boring.¡± Life groaned. ¡°OU! What about Joker! He¡¯s funny!¡± ¡°No, he¡¯s a dick.¡± Death changed the channel. ¡°What about her! She¡¯s been around for centuries! I wonder when she¡¯s going to die?¡± ¡°She¡¯s just living in a hut in the woods. They do say there are fates worse than death, but no.¡± Death got bored before he heard Lanzar¡¯s voice. ¡°Flip to this channel! It¡¯s going to crack your bones!¡± The metallic voice said. ¡°Goddammit.¡± Death muttered. ¡°God has nothing to do with me. Ainz! Hahahahahaha!!¡± Lanzar Laughed. Lanzar then flipped the channel to a cell door being opened by force. A flower-shaped figure then entered the cell. ¡°Is that the flower creature you made eons ago, Lanzar?¡± Death questioned. ¡°Nope! I got nothing to do with that! I just asked Life to make a bipedal plant-based creature that eats children at night. And for it be able to take the form of other creatures as a disguise.¡± His metallic voice screeched. ¡°That¡¯s oddly specific,¡± Death¡¯s red eyes looked down and made eye contact with Life¡¯s green eyes that were looking up at him. ¡°What?¡± She said innocently, ¡°Lanzar asked very kindly.¡± ¡°Did he give you cookies?¡± Death asked. Life replied, ¡°He gave me cookies.¡± ¡°Wow¡ It¡¯s not that hard to bribe you.¡± Death poked her head. ¡°You¡¯re missing the good part!¡± Lanzer pointed at the mirror. All of them looked in the mirror as the flower at the children. ¡°Wait¡ Are those the children from earlier?¡± Death questioned. Life was quiet and watched. Life then turned towards Lanzar and said, ¡°What the fuck! We just reincarnated them! Do you know how miserable they were!?¡± Life was pretty upset. ¡°Hey, I just guided the flower.¡± Lanzar laughed, ¡°Though it¡¯s pretty funny.¡± Life was about to scream when Death stopped her, ¡°Just leave it. Judging by what species they were. They have a bit of time left. Though I¡¯m surprised that they still exist. I thought they went extinct on that planet.¡± Death waved his hand, changing the images to cat videos. ¡°They¡¯re so cute!¡± Life shouted, forgetting about what just happened. ¡°Bye, Lanzar,¡± Death said. He moved his hands in a waving motion to summon a tray of cookies, which Life started eating. ¡°Nah, I¡¯ll stick around. I want to see how this plays out.¡± Lanzar grabbed a cookie and threw it into its metallic body. ¡°Shit. I thought Lanzar would leave.¡± Death thought to himself. He then sighed as they all watched cat videos. XI. The Fall of the Skies "It''s begun... there''s no stopping him." Said Nezt as the sky burns bright red. "What has begun?!" Shouted Dari with a concerned look. "Why is the sky red?! What can WE DO?!?!!" There was silence as Nezt looked up towards the sky. "Nothing it''s already too late for us..." "What DO you mean?!!!!" Said Dari as he pushed Nezt trying to snap him out of his trances. As Dari goes to push him again. Nezt dodges and pinned Dari to the ground with his staff. "As I said before, there is nothing that can be done." He said with a calm voice. The sky was bright red. Off in the distance cities began to crumb, the ground swallowing up cars and people. "HOW CAN YOU BE CALM WHEN EVERYTHING AND EVERYONE IS FALLING APART!!!!" Screamed Dari with fear in eyes as everything disappeared into the scorching earth. "There are infinite outcomes and possibilities out there. What happens here cause chain reaction throughout infinity. It will be noticed. We were simply too late and oblivious to its warnings. You must simply look at the bigger picture. Infinity goes on forever. So he won''t be able to destroy them all." "But how would you know that he isn''t destroying all of Infinity now?" Asked Dari, still looking at destruction of cities. "Because unlike us, Infinity transcends the natural laws of existence. Live in its own world, Nexus, the heart of Infinity. And the heart is protected by the Others. Beings like us that have transcended the natural laws of this reality. There may be multiple versions of them. If he invaded the Nexus, we would see them fighting. An army of unimaginable power and devastation. Supernatural beings of power that shake the heavens and hells." After his speech, Nezt walked over to a large rock and sits down. You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story."If the Others aren''t here then are they unaware of his presence?" Asked Dari now fidgeting with a pencil. "No some of them are aware. Lanzar most likely knows, and the ones that are the embodiment of chaos and evil most likely known. But the Collector, Commuter, and the Broker are some of the few that possess the knowledge to destroy him. Our time is almost up so before it ends I must show you something." Nezt pulls out a pair of old green goggles with blue lenses. On the side of the goggles it said NJQ. "What is this?" Asked Dari as she holds up the goggles to see through them. "Find me and say the time has come black and pink vortex." "What does th¡ª" Dari was cut off by Nezt as he shoved Dari into a blue rift. As Dari fell down the hole. It had no end. Up and down had no meaning. Time stood still. As she fell for what felt like years. She saw darkness at the end of the tunnel. The Joy of Creation It was dark. I couldn''t see. Where am I? I couldn''t see. It''s cold. It''s very cold. I can''t move. I can move. Where am I? It''s dark. I''m scared. Very scared. I can feel myself. Where am I? Who am I. Where am I? "W-w-w-where am-m-m I!?!?!?" I stop. What I heard was not my voice. "T-t-that''z no-o-ot my voizz. W-what i-i-izz t-t-thizz? Why do I zound l-l-like t-t-t-t-tha-at!" "Oh, but it is. It''s good to see you again..." Said a voice. "W-w-who ar-r-r yuuuuzzz." "Let''s fix your voice." A man stepped out of the shadows into the light. He was wearing a white lab coat, with the words ARCF. He walked over to the confused man and disappeared. A few minutes later he reappeared. "Try talking again... Jerry." "Is that my name?" Asked Jerry. "It''s your name now. Jerry Bear." Said the man with a smile. Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author. "Where am I?" "Your new home. Why don''t you take a look... Oh wait, you can''t." The man said as he pointed down towards Jerry''s feet. He tried to look down, but was unable. "Oh... are you unable to? Let''s get you in front of a mirror." The man then went behind Jerry and pushed him with what seemed like a wheelchair. "Keep your eyes closed." They got to a mirror. "Ok. Open your eyes." Said the man. Jerry opened his eyes to see a monster. Jerry had no feet or anything below his knees, just wires. He had no right arm from the elbow down. His left arm was partly covered by silver armor. His hands blue and missing two fingers. His chest has some armor as well, and it had an exposed blue orb. His face is missing a mouth, nose, ears, and hair. It had an exposed part of his head. "What am I!!!??" "You''re not human." "I am human!! You turned me into a monster!!! I remember a life before this." Shouted Jerry. "Then it worked. You think you are human. You may have the memories of one but you are not one. You are a shell of what a human was." "No!!!! NOOOOOO!!!!!" Shouted Jerry, shaking furiously and violently. "Nap time!" The man said with a joyful tone, then hit the side of Jerry''s neck. Jerry''s eyes stopped glowing and stopped moving. Jerry was lifeless. "It works. Perfect." The man pushed Jerry back into his workplace, placing him in the J-series spy. The Game Little Shit: ¡°Impossible! How did you win?¡± The boy smashes his hand into the table Pompous Dick: ¡°It¡¯s really quite simple, you see. I won when you threw the dice. I knew you had a one in six chance of rolling a eight on the sixty-three sided dice. However, it was a one in three hundred chance to roll a twenty-one. All I needed to do was make sure you rolled a four-twenty for me to win which is a one in six hundred and sixty-six chance of doing. How would I know you would roll a four-twenty? Simple, I did the math. If you take the square root of a circle, divide it by potato, multiplied that answer by 2 and find the circumference of the die and then nuke an orphanage and find the remainder using the remaining children alive after three years and divide that by the amount of child deaths. You then take that and find the equilibrium of T-Rexes to virgins eaten at Jurassic Park and then use the pythagorean theorem using that by how much copyrights Taylor¡ I think I¡¯m legally not allowed to say her name without paying a fine. And then find the area of that and the simps who were born nineteen-ninety-nine. Add that to the wage gap and how many asshats are on that blue bird and then multiply it by Gisnee. That¡¯s how I won.¡± He said. A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation. Little Shit: The boy looked at him like he had just heard a shitty review for why that latest Wonder Women movie definitely wasn¡¯t an average piece of shit that made no sense if you think longer than ten seconds, ¡°What the fuck did you just say? That is just a bunch of random words.¡± Pompous Dick: He smiled, ¡°No shit. You really think I would nuke an orphanage? I mean twenty bucks is twenty bucks.¡± Little Shit: ¡°You know that¡¯s not what I mean.¡± Pompous Dick: ¡°Or is it?¡± He smirked. ¡°Anyways, I guess that means you¡¯re all my slaves now¡¡± He took a deep breath, ¡°Well that¡¯s going to be one awkward family reunion.¡± Hello, My Name Is Markiplier It was a dark and shitty night. The sound of drums could be echoing from a distance, like thunder. The lights flashed like the sky having a stroke. Inside the house sitting alone on the hill, dead as a mouse in a blender. The wicked drums beat and the strobe lights flash. Yet the house never makes a sound. In the halls, the secret shadow moves. Yet no light guides the way. It slowly makes it to a shabby door. The paint had slowly faded as it had not been cleaned in decades. However, on the floor lies a plate of food that hasn''t been touched. The steam ascends to the ceiling as if it was just placed there. The shadow picks up the plate for further examination. At first glance, the plate looks normal... Except for two things; no fingerprints, and its lactose free. Unauthorized use: this story is on Amazon without permission from the author. Report any sightings. The shadow swiftly turns his head around to see a menacing figure. His teeth stained white with cheetos and dressed in a dad suite. He steps out of the shadows and speaks "Hello my name is Markiplier. Today we''ll be playing..." His head spins 360 as his voices trills up with several noise of dying. He stops, bending his head to touch his chest, eyes facing towards you and screeches like a bat, finishing his sentence, "... With your life". It’s So Quiet… Why Can’t I Sleep? It¡¯s so quiet here, but I can¡¯t sleep. It¡¯s so quiet here since all my roommates moved out¡ Only accompanied by the sound of the air vent and a fan that squeaks¡ every now and then... I¡¯ve only been alone for 7 hours and I feel like I¡¯m going crazy. Sitting alone in a nearly empty living room¡ and hearing noises¡ probably the upstairs neighbors¡ the anthem of the dead sing silently as I stare at my box¡ People talking without speaking¡ it¡¯s so quiet¡ even the noise of the lights screaming colors at me are as hollow as ever. Trapped in a room with my thoughts. Too cluttered but empty as the room I sit in. I can hear it running through my head as the choir sings¡ Its so peaceful in the quiet morphing into madness. Yet there are people around me, divided by barriers. Never alone yet always alone. I dare not speak cause no one will answer except the voice of my thoughts. Is this madness? Trapped in a room yet at the same time free with no regard for others? It¡¯s so quiet here, yet I can¡¯t sleep. No one creeping around at night, the ghost of pool balls clatter in my mind¡ yet when I look¡ there¡¯s just a dining room table. It¡¯s so quiet, why can¡¯t I sleep? I can do what I want but I just feel like trapping myself in my room. Yet¡ even my room feels dead. With all the decorations and items I could need. Yet it feels as hollow as my mechanical heart. I should feel sad? Glad? That my roommates are gone and I¡¯ve got all this space? Indifferent is what my mind is telling me. Something¡¯s missing. I feel like I¡¯m being watch yet no one¡¯s there. It¡¯s so quiet, why can¡¯t I sleep? My heart remains calm as my mind races beyond infinity¡ No¡ further. Every conversation replaying in my head, yet the words aren¡¯t there. Just people going through the motions of talking. No can hear my thoughts if I speak yet I talk as if someone is still there. My head hurts from thinking, yet that¡¯s all what it does. The job I dread going to for a few hours a week is what I look forward to. There¡¯s nothing here but ghosts. I don¡¯t know what to do. I¡¯m so tired¡ but I can¡¯t sleep. The fallen knights who skin were as cold as ice embraced the wicked nights. Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. Their silver skin lacking the warmth of day. Was it their skin? Armor? Who know for certain as anyone who seen them never returns. Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. Some say they are the works of the devils. Perhaps vengeful angels purifying sin of those deemed unworthy. Soulless eyes that never shed a tear. Their mouths of fire speak like the tongues of the Qux. Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. There is no sadness when one falls, no joy when winning. Heartless as fiery hell they fell from. They march in unison like the great armies of old. Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. It''s said that they prefer children. Especially those who are weak. What''s those footsteps I hear? Did I mention, a single touch could kill you? A cold arm reached down and touched a small boy with dirt brown cloths, "YEEEP!" He said, followed by the rest of the children. "You look like a fine snack!" The hand growled. "I hate you guys." The boy said. "Well, you said to tell a scary story," the boy with the gauntlet said. Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. "I wasn''t scared," a girl said. "You always say that," Zarc grumbled. Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. "Arch, could you stop the stomping." "I''m not doing anything," the boy with the gauntlet said. "Is it you Estelia?" "I''d never lift my fingers to do grunts work." The girl said. Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on the original website. "What a prick..." "hm?" Estelia turned her head to Zarc. "What a prick. It must be Garr." Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. "He''s the only one who couldn''t make it." Zarc got up from the campfire. "Might as well follow him." "That is literally the stupidest thing you''ve said!" the frightened boy put his hands over his eyes. "Target acquired." A monotone voice from the shadows lit up read. "Resistance is futile. You will come with us." The voice steps out the shadows to reveal a manlike monstrosity. The first thing to hit was the smell. Rotting flesh reeked the air like a poison. The knight only had one arm that was leaking black blood. Tiny holes were spread throughout its body. "New materials found. Rebuilding protocols will now commence." The kids, without saying another word, ran. The knight continued after them at the pace of an old lady. "You will not escape. Calling for reinforcements. New materials found. Estimated radius of one kilometer from location." Estelia ran as far as she could until she tripped over a rock. Hoping she made it far enough she rolled under the root of a Baron tree. She looked around and realized she was separated from the rest. Taking deep breaths, she squeezed tighter to the center of the tree. It was not long before she heard the stomping of the knight. Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. Stomp. "Footprints ceased. New method of tracking required. Starting up heat vision program. Error, weapons system malfunction. 5 minutes all updates are completed." The strange language the knight spoke frightened Estelia. What was the knight doing? She grabbed a rock and threw it in front of the knight. The knight didn''t respond. She knew she was doomed if she stayed, but if she left... would it still wait? She decided to wait out of fear. Sweat slightly dripping from her face. She places her hand in front of her mouth as to not yell when the knight woke up. After some time, the knights head lit up. "Program installation completed. Weapons system online. Target acquired. Continue pursuit." The knight started walking away. Estelia signed in relief as the knight walked away. Crack. She gasped. The knights head whipped around to its back. No normal human could do that without dying. "New target acquired." The knight raised its arm and that''s the last thing Estelia saw.
