《Tifara & David-Season 1》 Prologue-Part 1 Year Seven Zedekiah:March- Academic Year Hei "Class is dismissed," Ms. Rosenberg said when the school bell rang, sitting at her desk, surfing through the web. Tifara quickly gathered her stuff at her computer desk, while the majority of her classmates left the computers behind in the classroom. Her nervous eyes stared at her stuff and her poor heart pounded inside. Alright, Tifara. Time for lunch. I gotta go meet my friends at the cafeteria before I get falsely accused of causin'' trouble, y''know, she thought. Every student wore their school uniform. Various students have already developed adult bodies while others have not yet. With the classroom mostly empty, others remained seated, watching Tifara stand up from her desk. Tifara held her stuff onto her left hand and grabbed onto her gold plated tree branch necklace as fear slowly increased in her heart. Those boys'' cheeks blushed, only looking at her curvy body. The girls'' eyes looked at her in jealousy and disgust while they remained seated for a moment. Then they quickly rose and walked toward those boys. "Yo, Tifara is totally hot, bro," The voice of a boy with tanned skin echoed behind Tifara. "I know, right?" The other one with black hair said. "Ouch!" One of those boys cried right after the girl with short, orange-reddish hair pinched his arm. "What the heck was that for?!" "Don''t even bother lookin'' at Titsfara, you horny idiot!" The same girl roared, looking at him and her back and forth a couple of times. Ms. Rosenberg sighed with her disgruntled face, glaring at no one else but Tifara. "Oh, Tifara¡Always causing trouble as usual. This school was so peaceful until she showed up. It''s no wonder she''s not popular at school. I just wish she wasn''t here to begin with, since she keeps seeking attention and sleeps around with other boys, I suppose." While Tifara didn''t really appreciate those girls calling her "Titsfara" and Ms. Rosenberg''s gossip, she sighed, looked to the right a bit and smiled when she finally left the classroom. Oh, thank Elohim I got outta there, that''s for sure, she thought. Looking up at the ceiling, she gave Elohim her sad face. I wish people around here would get to know me for me, not just for my attractive body, just like You and Your Son Yeshua has. But I know that''s not gonna happen anytime soon, she continuously thought as she then grinned at Him. But I''m so glad to have Them on my side, and help me get through my tough times that I''m goin'' through right now. I jus'' hope my friends woulda show up. They should be out of class by now. She returned her attention to her destination. After she was being bullied and harassed by students and the staff did nothing to help her for months, her parents were going to move to a new neighborhood so they would transfer her to a new secondary school, but they didn''t have finances to do so. They even tried to get the school district to address her mistreatment. After the administrative district failed to help her due to her "negative" reputation at school, they sued the school division but lost the lawsuit, even after they appealed. They wanted to homeschool her, but they both worked full time, leaving them less time to teach her subjects at home. So they entrusted her friends to guard her at school from the bullying and harassment from students. While she continued her fast walk, a few boys ogled and whistled at her as well as commented on her voluptuous body, and not many girls leered at and talked about her with their distasteful faces. A bulk of students just walked past her, minding their own business. She ignored those who mistreated her, holding onto her necklace tighter as fear continued to take over her heart. It wasn''t necessary for her to do so. So why would she fight fire with fire? Mr. Kontos stood there in the middle of the hallway and watched the crowd passing by in his light grayish professional suit, making sure things were going on smoothly. His white hair and facial wrinkles gawped at Tifara. He had the same height as the fifth year boys. "Hey, Tifara," Mr. Kontos said. Tifara turned her attention to him. "Yes, sir?" "Don''t go causing trouble now, you hear?" "I won''t, Sir," she responded while she returned her focus to her destination and kept walking. "I''ll be keeping my eye on you." The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation. Her face remained calm and determined, despite being annoyed by Mr. Kontos treating her like a suspect. For a little while, she noticed her friends weren''t in the hallway. With sweat coming down from her forehead a little, her frightened, broadened eyes searched for her friends all over the hallway. She had yet to find them. She thought, May¡Sam¡Dalila, where are you? They shoulda be here by now. What the hell''s taking them so long? They usually meet me in the hallway right after my computer class. Come on, you guys. Where are you? I couldn''t wait for them to be here for much longer. I''m too damn vulnerable for that, y''know. The text sound echoed inside her skirt pocket. She looked over at it with mouth open. Huh? I wonder who texted me all the sudden, she thought with her eyebrow raised. Pulling out her black touch screened dumbphone, she investigated and her shocked eyes expanded and moved a little side to side. There she saw the text message that said: Tifara, sorry we couldn''t come 2 meet you n the cafeteria rite now. Calpurnia literally tripped over a poor girl w/glasses, and she made that girl drop a couple books and broke her glasses, falsely accusing her of being associated w/u. We gotta go help her out. We''ll see u there soon. Lates! -May Tifara sighed while she looked down at her phone with her sorrowful face, putting up her phone. Then she regained focus of her destination. More sweat came down from her forehead, her heart pounded harder and her eyes widened a bit larger. Oh, great, she thought, Now I''m so vulnerable now. Just great, just great. She gave Elohim her worried look on her face as she tightened her grip onto her necklace. Oh, Elohim. Why are You doin'' this to me?! Then the young man with wavy brown hair walked up to her. "Hey, there, babe. I''ve heard you''re good in bed. What do ya say we have at it after school, huh?" She pretended he wasn''t there and kept moving. Giving her his angry face, he grabbed her arm, pulled her towards him and roared, "Hey, don''t you ignore me! Like answer my question, bruh!" Louring at him for a second, she swung her hand against one of his cheeks and pushed him away from her. "I don''t whore around with others like you, alright?! Now go away! Sheesh!" After some people in the crowd gasped out loud at what they saw, they chatted with one another. Tifara kept moving towards her destination. Frowning at her, the young man placed his hand onto his reddened cheek and sucked his teeth at her. "Oh, whatev¡prudy bitch." "TIFARA!" Mr. Kontos roared, broadening his eyes, walking his way towards her. "Get over here, right now, young lady!" Tifara turned to her left without even looking at Mr. Kontos. Her eyes were enlarged more. Her nervous sweat came down from her forehead even more than ever before. Her heart pounded harder and faster in her chest. Oh, shit! Better hurry up and get to the cafeteria before Mr. Kontos catches me! she thought, letting go of her necklace and put her arms around her stuff as she ran to her destination. Mr. Kontos ran after her and shouted, "Hey, get back here, Tifara! You''re going to be in so much trouble now!" After Tifara did all that running for a while, three jealous girls grabbed her arms and viciously chuckled at her. One girl had a purple butterfly birthmark on her right, light brown cheek. Another one wore a ladybug pin on her uniform shirt pocket. And the third one would always tie her jacket around her waist. "Hey, what are you-?!" Tifara cried, angrily looking at those girls sideways and in front of her, trying to break free. Those girls, however, held her tight and slammed their bodies against her without fail. "Let go of me, you guys!" "No way, you slut!" One of them growled, scowling at her. The other two agreed. "I didn''t do anything wrong to you guys, so let me go! Goosh!" Tifara cried. "Not gonna happen, girlfriend," The third one said, looking daggers at Tifara for a while, then turning to Mr. Kontos once he came closer to them with a beam. "Here, Mr. Kontos. We caught her red handed for you!" Grabbing onto Tifara''s uniform shirt, Mr. Kontos grinned at those three girls while they let go of her. "Why, thank you, girls. I truly appreciate what you''ve done for me. I''ll take it from here." "No problem, Mr. Kontos," The first one said as she and the other two smiled back at him. "Take care and have a great day, Sir." "You too," Mr. Kontos said, waving at them. They waved back at Mr. Kontos while leaving the hallway. Tifara began to look up at the ceiling with her dejected face. Dear Lord, please deliver me from the persecution that I''m currently facin'' right now. In Yeshua''s name, Amen, she thought. "Alright, Tifara," Mr. Kontos said, glowering at her. "I''m giving you an office referral for slapping a student." Tifara quickly turned to Mr. Kontos, scowling at him back. "But what about the boy?! You''re not gonna send him an office referral for sexual harassment and grabbing me like that?! I didn''t do anything wrong here. I was defending myself." "Well, that''s because of your reputation of getting attention from other boys and getting them to sleep with you. That''s why he did what he did. If you hadn''t done these things, none of this would''ve happened." "But I''ve never had sex with anybody. You only say that based on my physical appearance, not my personality." "Now stop lying and arguing with me, and admit you have a bad reputation within the school." Tifara sucked her teeth at Mr. Kontos. "Why would I admit something that I didn''t even do?!" Mr. Kontos pointed his finger at Tifara. "Hey, don''t you dare suck your teeth at me, young lady! Your punishment will be far worse if you keep it up, do you understand me?!" "Yes, Sir." "Good," Mr. Kontos said as he sighed and stopped pointing his finger at her with his eyes closed for a while. "Now since this is your lunch period, let''s go put your stuff up and get your lunch before we head for the principal''s office, yes?" "Yes, sir." Tifara responded with her annoyed face. As she and Mr. Kontos began to walk into the section of Year Hei, the crowd chattered about Tifara with some laughter and gossip from certain girls and lustful stares of Tifara''s busty body from a portion of boys. Prologue-Part 2 Walking out of the classroom when the bell rings, the fifth year students there left the classroom without their trays and Tifara exited last in relief. While she looked around the hallway, a bunch of students in her grade level walked past her and got their stuff out of their lockers. A certain number of boys and girls behaved the same way as Tifara experienced in the hallway earlier. Then she heard a girl''s voice calling out her name. Her eyes widened out of excitement and her smile became full of joy as she recognized that girl''s voice. Ah! It''s gotta be May! She gotta be here somewhere with Sam and Dalila! I gotta go find them! she thought, turning to her left and searching for her friends, until she saw two girls and a boy standing against the wall, smiling and waving at her. It''s them! I gotta go meet them! Tifara quickly walked her way towards her friends and stopped near them without the crowd getting in her way. May''s purple flower hairpin stood onto her black, short hair under the spotlight; those flowers appeared as the Mayflowers. Her blue stopwatch appeared on her left wrist. Sam''s black glasses stared at Tifara. There wasn''t a single wrinkle on his navy blue, uniform pants. Then Dalila''s red heart appeared onto her bracelet. Her pink earrings stood behind her reddish-brown, straight hair. "Hi, you guys," Tifara said with her widening eyes. "Hi, Tifara. We heard you got lunch detention today, so we came here¡waiting for you," May responded, then frowning at Tifara. "Why didn''t you text us earlier?! We could''ve at least know where you are if you did. We texted you a couple times. Your parents woulda get mad at us if we didn''t protect you!" "Yeah, we were so worried about you! We thought you would''ve been sexually assaulted or something far worse," Dalila growled. "Sorry about that." Tifara gave her friends her despirited face. "I was gonna text y''all back, but Mr. Kontos wouldn''t let me." "Man, Mr. Kontos is literally one of the worst administrators in this school, ever," Sam responded, frowning with his eyes closed. "Tell me about it," May said, rolling her eyes. "So, guys¡" Sam said, opening his eyes. "What?" Tifara asked. "Did y''all hear that our friend Saul is leading the Secondary School Presidential race against those two horrible seventh years?!" Sam excitedly responded. "Oh, yeah. I''ve heard that Joel and Abijah are definitely going to lose in the next couple months," Tifara exclaimed. "Speaking of Saul, I''ve heard he received an endorsement from Sam Senior-the most popular Secondary School President ever! Aaaah! I''m so excited for him!" "I know, right?!" May also exclaimed with an open smile. "Sam Senior''s in his last year of Secondary School, and then come next year, we''ll see Saul as the next Secondary School President!" "Oh, yeah! Tell me about it!" Tifara exclaimed with a grin as she amazingly looked up at the ceiling, then at Sam. "And Saul couldn''t have done it without Elohim''s help!" "Yep, that''s actually quite true!" Dalila agreed, smiling at Sam. Sam beamed back at Dalila, then turned his attention back to May and Tifara. "And I gotta thank Elohim for introducing me to Saul as a sole alternative to either Joel and Abijah." If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. "Ooooh, I can''t wait to get close to him again, just like I did in the cafeteria today!" May exclaimed when her cheeks began to flush. Ah! Tifara thought, quickly scowling at May. The shadows covered her forehead and eyes whenever her eyes gave May her death stare. "I wish Imma a sixth year instead of fifth, so I could meet him in that same area," May added. "I''m sure you''ll meet him again right after school," Dalila reassured May with her eyes closed. "Yeah, totally," May agreed, smiling at Dalila, shaking her head in agreement with her. Oh, I''m definitely gonna get my hands on Saul; I literally won''t allow anyone including May to either get a hold of my future husband, nor put their grimey hands on him, Tifara angrily thought. "And now that Saul''s more popular than Joel and Abijah, they''re gonna smear Saul''s character relentlessly as their only option," Sam said. "He has better school policies than them. That''s literally all they got." "Right?" Dalila agreed, shaking her head with her eyes closed. "I mean after bullying and taking advantage of people, especially the unfortunate ones, and being able to get away with shit without accountability from even the principal, they''re finally about to receive Elohim''s judgement." "Oh, yeah, they''re totally going down," Tifara agreed. "Yep," May also agreed. "Look, everybody! Saul is now entering the area of Year Waw students!" One of the students'' voices exclaimed. While May and Tifara excitedly gasped with their mouths opened and scarlet cheeks, May turned around and Tifara immediately ran around her friends. "Y''all gotta excuse me. I''m gonna go see Saul. He-hee!" Tifara exclaimed, turning to her friends and the entrance of the Year Hei students'' section back and forth while running. "Ugh!" May expanded her eyes, louring at Tifara. "No fair, Tifara! I wanna come to see Saul too!" When May raced against Tifara, Dalila chuckled, moving her head to the side. The crowd who remained in the hallway, however, also wanted to see Saul and began to run for Tifara and May''s destination. "Ugh!" Sam was holding Dalila''s hand. With his other, he pointed at Tifara and May. "Hey, you two. Don''t y''all be fightin'' over Saul now, ya hear?!" The two girls ignored him. Dalila took a break to say to her boyfriend, "Come on, let''s go see Saul. We''ve got plenty of time before that five minute warning bell rings." Looking at Dalila, Sam smiled. "Yeah, I guess you''re right, Dalila. Let''s go." "Mhm," Dalila agreed as she and Sam walked towards them, fighting their way through the crowd. As soon as Tifara and her friends made it towards their destination, they stood to the side of the entrance and leaned against the wall. The voices of the crowd chatted among themselves; the girls'' faces turned red while the boys smiled excitedly. They saw Saul and his friends entering the area of the Year Waw students, waving at everyone around them and the crowd in the Year Hei section; everyone near them greeted them there. Saul appeared taller than everyone else including his two friends behind him. One of his friends carried a couple of books in his arms. His other friend next to them wore orange, squared glasses, displaying her emotionless face. "Oh, would you look at Saul," May said with her eyes nearly closed and her scarlet cheeks. "Oh, yeah. Isn''t he handsome?" Tifara asked with a twinkle and also her reddened cheeks. As soon as the five minute warning bell rang, Sam said to Tifara and May, "Alright, y''all. I gotta go get to class. I''ll see y''all in another passing period." They said goodbyes when Sam warned once more, "Never fight over Saul! And May-" May turned to Sam with her annoyed face. "Watch over and protect Tifara. I get it, Sam. You don''t have to repeat that shit to me twice, y''know." "Alright now, chillax, May. I was just makin'' sure you don''t forget. That''s all. Sheesh. You don''t need to be that way," Sam said. Dalila''s eyes began to extend for a second and placed her hand onto her chest. May noticed Dalila''s strange behavior while Tifara kept her focus on Saul. "Ugh!" Dalila said, tightening her fist onto her chest with her eyes widened even more. "Dalila? Are you alright?" May asked. With Dalila''s silence echoing near Tifara, May, Sam and the other fifth years, Tifara then curiously turned her attention to Dalila. Tifara and May widened their eyes when they saw Dalila kneeling down onto the floor and still held her hands onto her chest. More and more fifth years noticed Dalila appearing to be in pain. "Dalila?" Tifara questioned. "DALILA?!" Sam yelled so loudly that the sixth year students heard his voice across from them. They curiously watched Dalila fall and talked with one another. The friends weren''t quick enough to catch Dalila and her body landed hard on the floor. The fifth and sixth year students alike gasped at the scene and began to approach to see what was going on, but the friends ignored them and kneeled down to look after the fallen. Also Saul and his friends came closer while May, Sam and Tifara called over and over again, "Dalila. Dalila! DALILA!" Dalila however did not answer. She closed her eyes. May then turned to Sam and Tifara. "Okay, guys. I''m gonna go get the staff to call the ambulance for Dalila!" "Yea, good idea, May," Sam agreed, shaking his head with tears coming out of his eyes. "Mhm," Tifara also agreed. While May began to run through the crowd, the crowd still chattered with one another, surrounding Sam and Tifara. Tifara turned her sad eyes towards the ceiling. Dear Elohim, whatever You do, please deliver Dalila to the hospital and use the doctors to heal her bad heart there. I have never seen anything quite like this before. I have faith in You. In Yeshua''s name, Amen, she thought, returning her attention to Dalila. Seeing Sam cried onto one of Dalila''s hands, Tifara felt bad for him. Being that worried over his girlfriend''s health condition, Tifara understood how he felt, pretending to be in his shoes. She planned to visit Dalila in a hospital afterschool with her friends from then on. She and everyone else, even her own enemies, hoped that Dalila got better soon. She believed Elohim and His Son will never abandon Dalila, and Dalila will get through it with Their help as well as her, May and Sam by Dalila''s side, no matter how much Dalila struggled through and through. Otherwise, what hope was there for? Chapter 1: A Bad Beginning Year Seven Zedekiah: September-Academic Year Hei While Elohim used the doctors to cure Dalila from her first heart attack, Tifara and her friends constantly visited her in the hospital. They later found out that she had complications in her heart that led the doctors to give her an open heart surgery. They hoped she''ll be healed from it through their daily prayers. They were full of joy when Elohim led the doctors to manage to cure her heart attack. They praised Him for what He had done for her. Although they couldn''t wait for her to be discharged from the hospital, the doctors stated she''ll remain in the hospital more than two weeks due to her heart''s complications. So they kept praying to Elohim to have her be healed enough to be discharged from the hospital, continuing to their visit there. However as time went on and school ended, they questioned Elohim why she remained in the hospital, particularly Sam. Though they remained patient and persisted on their activities until Dalila''s parents presented them the good news: Dalila will return home and start school in the fall. They rejoiced in and praised Elohim for this, as they prepared for their new school year and their return of their normal lives with Dalila. Once Dalila began her recovery and restart her normal life though, she somewhat changed a bit. "So¡Dalila¡" Tifara said as she and her friends video chatted with one another online in their night clothes. "How are ya feelin''?" "I''m fine¡" Dalila responded, turning her sad eyes to the left. "I guess¡" Tifara raised her eyebrow at Dalila. "You don''t sound like you''re fine." Dalila returned her attention to her friends with her worried face. "I jus'' hope that I don''t get another heart attack, like I did six months ago. There''s no tellin'' when I''ll have it again at anytime." "Dalila..." Sam reassured his girlfriend. "You''re gonna be fine. Jus'' obey the doctors'' instructions and have faith in Elohim. He''ll help you through this, and we''re gonna do this with Him. Never allow your anxieties to take over your heart." "B-B-But¡" Dalila said. "Don''t worry about it, Dalila!" Tifara frowned at Dalila. "Yeah," May agreed. "We''ll help you through it one way or another through perseverance no matter what." "Mhn," Tifara shook her head up and down with her eyes closed and a grin. Dalila smiled at her friends. "Yeah¡you guys are right. I''m sorry. Thanks for the encouragement as always." "No, problem and we forgive ya," Tifara stated. "So¡" Sam said. "Are y''all ready for your first day of school tomorrow?" "Mmm-hmm," Dalila exclaimed with her eyes closed. "I can''t wait to go back to school tomorrow. I miss goin'' there, y''know." Sam smiled. "Well, that''s good to hear, Dalila." "Uh¡" May and Tifara responded, sadly looking at Sam as Tifara tightly held onto her necklace. "What? Y''all are anxoius too?" Sam asked. "Yes¡" May and Tifara answered, putting their heads down. "I''m afraid I''ll fail school this year; or worse I''ll probably fail the School Exit Exam on my Junior year, and I''ll probably even fail it again on my Senior year," May continued. "I''ll never be able to get my Secondary School Diploma, then go on to junior college, and then maybe not even go to a good university after that! My future would be so dim..." "Ugh¡I''m not in a mood to go back to school tomorrow," Tifara answered. "I hate gettin'' up early in the morning and get bullied and harassed there. I wish my parents have the opportunity to homeschool me instead¡" "Tifara, May, y''all gotta snap out of it. You''re allowing your anxieties to take control over your hearts," Sam reassured, "You gotta fight back against them and not worry about them. Y''all be jus'' fine, if you take Yeshua''s advice of placin'' your trust in Elohim and His righteousness, as well as you keep on seeking His kingdom, you''ll be able to overcome your fears." "Yeah, Sam''s right," Dalila agreed, "Elohim will continuously help you guys out on whatever difficulties you face; besides...our new Secondary School President Saul''s gonna be there tomorrow as well..." "Dalila!" Sam frowned at his girlfriend. "What? I gotta do something to get them fight against their anxieties anyhow," Dalila said, raising her eyebrow at Sam. "You know I don''t want these two be fightin'' over Saul," Sam roared. Tifara and May''s cheeks turned scarlet whenever Saul was mention. They placed their hands onto their cheeks and looked up at the ceiling, imagining themselves winning over their competitors including each other to become Saul''s girlfriend and wife. "Yeah¡I mean, who couldn''t forget about Saul¡" May said. "I jus'' can''t wait to see what my Saul looks like and be with him tomorrow¡" "Ah! Did you jus'' say ''my Saul?!''" Tifara glared at May as her shadows covered her forehead and eyes. Now, I''m gonna make this dickhead pay one way or another! She''ll see what I''m made of! I jus'' can''t allow May to become Saul''s girlfriend and future wife. EVER! Tifara thought. "Alright, alright. That''s enough, you two," Sam said to Tifara and May with his serious look on his face while Dalila chuckled, covering her mouth, closing her eyes. Sam immediately turned his serious attention to his girlfriend. "Ahem!" Dalila opened her eyes, uncovered her mouth and stopped laughing. "Right, sorry ''bout that." "Yes, you heard that right, Tifara," May responded. "He''s gonna be my Saul and my Saul only. And that''s how it''s gonna be, girlfriend." "Eh?!" Tifara glared at May even more. "We''ll jus'' see about that, wouldn''t we?!" "I said, ''That''s enough, you two!'' Damn!" Sam said with his serious face. Tifara and May turned their guilty faces to Sam. "Sorry¡" they said. "It''s alright. Now, where was I?" Sam forgave them, looking up at the ceiling, placing his finger onto his chin. "Oh, yea. And never give up on overcoming your anxieties, okay?" Sam said to Tifara, May and Dalila. If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement. "Okay, I won''t," Tifara said. "Me neither," May agreed. "Me three," Dalila agreed also. "Good," Sam said. "So, what did you guys do today? Did you guys do anything different? And did you have a good last day of summer vacation? Because I certainly have." "Oh, really?" May asked, "What did you do today?" "I went to the beach with my family today. It was so much fun," Sam answered while Tifara put her head down. "Well, that was great, Sam!" Dalila exclaimed, "I had a good, fun day today too. I had a barbecue with my entire family." "That''s pretty cool, Dalila!" May cried. "My family and I went to the park, took family pictures there, and walked around the lake." "Aaaw, no fair! You guys are so lucky!" Tifara cried, frowning at her friends. "My family and I jus'' sat back at home and did nothing for the whole damn day!" "Oh...Tifara...I''m so sorry to hear that..." May said, feeling bad for Tifara. "Yea, me too," Dalila said, giving Tifara her sad face. "Yea, man¡" Sam said, also giving Tifara his sad face. "Oh, it''s okay, guys," Tifara grinned. Then Sam yawned and displayed his sleepy eyes. "Alright now. Time to get ready for school and go to bed. But before we do that, let''s provide our nightly prayers to Elohim, shall we?" "Oh, yeah, sure. Why not?" Dalila asked. "Yeah, let''s do this thing!" May exclaimed. "Mhn," Tifara said, shaking her head with her eyes closed. Tifara and her friends turned their eyes towards the ceiling and raised their hands up in the air. "Dear Elohim," Sam stated, "Please give Tifara, May and Dalila strength to overcome their anxieties, as they can''t fight against them alone. They need You now more than ever. Please give all of us a good night''s sleep, protect us throughout the night, and wake us up into a beautiful morning, which is our very first day back in school. And we thank You for giving us a good day, for we love and appreciate what You''ve done for us. In Yeshua''s name, amen." "Amen," Tifara, May and Dalila responded. "I''m logging out now. Have a good night. I''ll see y''all tomorrow morning," Sam said as he began to log out. "Me too! It''s getting late anyways! Have a good night''s sleep, you guys! I''ll see you tomorrow!" Dalila said. "Me three! Good night, y''all. See ya tomorrow!" May said. "Mmm-hmm!" Tifara said, shaking her head, closing her eyes, smiling. "Have a good night and see you at school tomorrow!" After Tifara and her friends waved each other good-byes and logged out of the video chatting room, they all went straight to bed in preparation for the first day of school. **** Year Seven Zedekiah: September-Academic Year Waw As soon as the morning bell rang, some students stood outside, and others walked inside the school and headed for the cafeteria for breakfast. They chatted with each other-both inside and outside the school. The administrators stood there and watched the students to provide the school order. Tifara and her friends walked throughout the halls. While Sam and Dalila talked with one another and held onto each other''s hands, May walked by Tifara''s side, looking around the hallway, placing her hand unto Tifara''s shoulder. Tifara looked down below her and tightly held onto her necklace when a certain number of girls gossiped about her and some boys stared at Tifara''s curvy body, whistling at her. Tifara and May walked behind Sam and Dalila. Oh, great! Tifara thought as her heart beated a bit harder, her eyes widened and sweat came down from her forehead a little. Today''s my first day of school, and I''m already re-experiencing harassment like last year! Just great¡ Then she looked up at the ceiling with her sad face. Elohim, she thought, Why aren''t You allowin'' me to be homeschooled instead? As May saw Tifara put her head down, she leaned on Tifara and whispered, "It''s alright, Tifara. Me, Sam and Dalila are with you. Jus'' make sure you persevere and ignore those who mistreat you. Elohim will provide you justice against them. Place your trust in Him and keep moving." Tifara looked up at May and grinned. "Thanks, May," she whispered. "No problem," May whispered with a smile and a wink. Tifara turned her head up and looked forward, still holding onto her necklace. Once Tifara and her friends made it to the cafeteria, they looked around to see some students walking around the cafeteria to find their seats at each brown, long table, carrying their blue trays that contained their breakfast. Others stood in line to get their food. The students'' chatter echoed all over the cafeteria. A couple administrators stood still and watched over the students, while a couple janitors placed the food in the large, black trash cans and put the trays onto the tray holders, once certain students left their spots and refused to clean up after themselves. "Alright, let''s go eat!" Dalila exclaimed, turning to Sam with a smile. "Mhn," Sam agreed, shaking his head, then turning to Tifara and May. "Let''s go, you guys!" "Right," Tifara agreed while May ignored Sam. May gasped, widening her eyes, opening her mouth. "Look who''s talkin'' to President Saul?" Seeing May pointed her finger out forward while Dalila turned to her, Tifara turned to May''s direction and quietly gasped with her eyes widened and mouth opened. There she saw a girl with two pink, shiny bows on her head and her two female friends talking to President Saul and his two friends from last year while she ate breakfast with him at the table. The boys amazingly looked at and idolized Saul and the girls gazed at Saul with their reddened cheeks, while they either ate their breakfast near Saul or walked past him. No freakin'' way! Tifara thought, Calpurnia''s with Saul! Chapter 2: Calpurnia & Saul While Tifara and her friends continuously gazed at Calpurnia and her friends eating breakfast with President Saul and his friends, Tifara and May frowned at Calpurnia and her friends. The students'' chatter constantly entered into Tifara and her friends'' ears. Tifara and May''s eyes were almost closed and they breathed a little faster and quieter. Oh, great! That''s jus'' fantastic, Tifara angrily thought, First it was May and the other girls tryin'' to get with Saul. Now Calpurnia wants to as well?! Whatever her reason is to be with Saul I jus'' can''t simply allow her to be with him. Period. "Alright, guys. Gotta go eat some breakfast now," Sam said. "Don''t worry about them." "Yeah, he''s right, you guys," Dalila agreed, "We gotta go." "Oh, what the hell does Calpurnia want with my Saul anyway?!" May roared while glaring at Calpurnia. "Yeah!" Tifara agreed for a while until she angrily turned her face to May. "And why do you keep sayin'' ''my Saul,'' huh?!" "Well, he is gonna be my Saul afterall, and you''re jus'' gonna have to deal with it, Tifara." May angrily turned to Tifara as both girls growled at one another, showing off their teeth. Sam and Dalila sighed while watching Tifara and May fight over Saul, before Sam frowned at them. "Ahem!" Sam said, letting go of his girlfriend''s hand, walking towards Tifara and May. "That''s enough, you two!" Tifara and May ignored Sam and continuously growled at one another. Sam placed his hands onto their shoulders. "Ladies¡that''s enough now¡" Sam said with his annoyed, impatient face. As Tifara and May continued to ignore Sam and growled at one another, Dalila looked around all over the cafeteria and saw something that caught her eye. She quietly gasped, opened her mouth and widened her eyes. Sam gave Tifara and May his serious look on his face, while the students around them curiously watched them and chatted louder. "I said, ''That''s enough now!'' Damn, y''all!" Dalila quickly turned her attention to her boyfriend and friends. "Plus, the administrators are goin'' to come over here now and sent y''all to the principal''s office if they see y''all fightin'' like this. I mean, would y''all want to get in trouble on your first day of school?" Tifara and May stopped growling at one another as soon as they heard Dalila said to them. They quickly turned to and saw the administrators spotted them, wondering what was going on here. Holy shit, Dalila''s right! Tifara thought, I better stop fightin'' over Saul and get some breakfast before May and I get in trouble. Sam let go of Tifara and May. Tifara and May gave each other their guilty faces at first, closing their eyes, scratching their heads. "So, um, Tifara¡about Saul¡Please forgive me for fightin'' over him," May said. "Yeah, me too," Tifara said as she and her friends heard the fifteen minute bell rung. "Let''s hurry up and get some breakfast, shall we?" "Yeah, that''s a great idea. Well said, Tifara," May agreed when she and her friends walked forward to go get some food. The crowd''s chatter was toned back to normal levels and the administrators returned to watching the crowd instead of them. "Thanks for gettin'' Tifara and May to stop fightin'' with one another," Sam said, holding his girlfriend''s hand and smiled. "No problem, Sam," Dalila responded. "That''s the least I could do." **** After Tifara and her friends got their breakfast, they began to look for a table for them to eat. A certain portion of boys and girls behaved similarly to those in the hallway earlier. Tifara''s heart pounded harder, her eyes twitched while moving a little sideways, and sweat came down from her forehead. Tifara wanted to grabbed onto her necklace, yet she couldn''t due to carrying her breakfast tray around. Oh, great! Here we go again¡, Tifara thought, looking up at the ceiling. Dear Lord, please give me strength to overcome my persecution. In Yeshua''s name, Amen. Once Tifara returned her attention to her search for her seat, May noticed her uncomfortable face and gave her a sad look on her face. "Jus'' ignore them, Tifara," May said, smiling at her friend. "Remember I told you in the hallway earlier." Recalling May''s advice in the hall, Tifara turned to May and said, "Thanks, May. You''re the best. I knew I can count on you." This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. "You''re welcome," May replied while she and her friends kept finding their seats. They searched everywhere until they found their seats a bit far away from Calpurnia and President Saul-about two tables away. Once they sat at the table, they held each other''s hands and looked at one another. They didn''t allow the loud chatter to distract them in their prayer. "Okay, who wants to pray for our food?" Sam asked. "I''ll do the prayer this time," Dalila answered. "Alrighty then, go ahead, Dalila," Sam said as he and his friends looked up at the ceiling. "Dear Elohim," Dalila prayed, "We thank You for this food. Bless Your heart, mind and soul. Please protect us from anything bad containing this food, as well as don''t lead us to the sin of gluttony. In Yeshua''s name, Amen." "Amen," Tifara, May and Sam said as she and her friends began to eat their food. "So, guys¡" Sam said after he chewed and swallowed his food. "Since we go to the homeroom period first and last daily, who do y''all have for that period? I have Mr. Fallon." Dalila finished chewing her food while Tifara stared at Calpurnia having a conversation with President Saul, eating her food. "Mr. Fallon, huh? Never heard of him. I hope he''s good¡" Tifara glared at Calpurnia while her friend chatted with one another. I wonder what they''re discussin'' over there, she thought, I wish my friends and I sat right next to them, so that I could eavesdrop on their conversation. "Tifara¡" Sam said as he and his friends turned their attention to Tifara. Tifara ignored them and still paid attention to Calpurnia''s conversation with President Saul, continuously eating her food. "Tifara¡" Dalila said, snapping her fingers near Tifara''s face. Tifara also ignored it and was still paying attention to Calpurnia''s discussion with President Saul, eating her food. "Tifara¡" May said, tapping her fingers on Tifara''s arm hard. Placing her hand onto her arm, Tifara turned to May and frowned at May, rubbing her arm. "Ow! That hurts, May! What the hell?!" "Sorry, but Sam wants your attention," May said, closing her eyes. "Oh¡" Tifara said as she turned her attention to Sam. "Well, what is it, Sam?" "Who is your homeroom period teacher?" Sam asked. "I have Mrs. Kane," Tifara answered, continuously eating her breakfast, watching Calpurnia having a conversation with President Saul at the same time. "So you have Mrs. Kane then, huh?" Dalila asked, sighing, giving Tifara her sad face. "Too bad we all have one different homeroom teacher then." She closed her eyes, leaned forward and placed her hands under her chin. "Which means we may have to come to your homeroom classroom once the first homeroom period ends." She then opened her eyes and looked at Tifara. "What''s the room number for your homeroom period, Tifara." After chewing and swallowing her food, Tifara looked up and placed her finger on her chin. "I have, uh, Room Waw-Nine, I think. I''m not so sure. Lemme check jus'' to make sure." Then she dug through her backpack, searching for her schedule. "Ah, here it is." She pulled out her schedule and examined it. "Turns out I was right." "Great!" May exclaimed while Tifara placed her schedule back into her backpack. "That means me, Sam and Dalila will come to get you once your first homeroom period ends!" "Yeah, you can count on us, Tifara!" Dalila said, closing her eyes with a smile. "Mhn," Sam responded, shaking his head. Tifara smiled at her friends. "Thanks, you guys for caring for me." "Don''t thank us, girl," Dalila said. "Thank Elohim for that. He uses us for your protection afterall." "Yeah, you''re not wrong about that." Tifara continuously grinned at her friends, then smiled up at the ceiling. "Thank You, Elohim, for havin'' my friends at my side to protect me at this terrible school. In Yeshua''s name, Amen." "Amen," Tifara''s friends said, seeing Tifara returned to finish up eating her breakfast. "Can you believe that we''re Secondary School Sophomores now?!" Dalila asked while Sam and May also ate their breakfast. "I bet Sophomore year is gonna be different from Freshman year, huh? I jus'' hope this year''s better than last year, that''s for sure." May finished chewing her food and drinking her soybean milk, looking down from her left and raised her eyebrows up as if they formed into a mountain. "Yeah¡I jus'' hope so¡" While Sam and Dalila comforted May once they finished chewing their food and drank their soybean milks a bit, Tifara drank her entire soybean milk before she widened her eyes and opened her mouth. Huh?! Tifara thought, What the hell?! There she saw Calpurnia and their friends left the table with President Saul and his friends, placing their trash into the trash can, putting them on the tray holders, leaving the cafeteria. Calpurnia still had a conversation with President Saul, laughing with him. Aw, great! Jus'' great! Tifara thought as she glared at Calpurnia. Now she''s leaving with Saul. Jus'' fan-freakin''-tastic! I gotta go follow them! As soon as Tifara stood up from the table and picked up her tray, her friends looked up at her face, curiously cuckolding their eyebrows at her. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Where are you goin''?" Sam asked. "I''m goin'' to put my food up in the trash can. I''ll be right back," Tifara answered as she was about to leave the table. May grabbed onto Tifara''s arms. "No, Tifara. Stay here. Not until all of us finished eating our breakfast." "Yeah!" Sam roared. "Are ya crazy or somethin''?!" "I''m not crazy for puttin'' the trash in the trash can, Sam," Tifara responded, glaring at May. "Now let me go, May!" "No, I won''t!" May cried, "Don''t you think about what happens if you go off on your own like that on this school campus?!" "Yeah!" Dalila agreed, "Don''t you recall why you hate goin'' to school in the first place?! You were afraid of gettin'' harassed and bullied here, remember?!" "Yeah!" May also agreed, "I even had to comfort you for it twice today, remember?" Tifara then felt guilty of her actions as she sat back down and sadly examined her food, after Sam shook his head. "You guys are right¡I''m sorry I''ve acted foolishly, would y''all forgive me?" "Mhn," her friends responded when they continued to eat their food. Once they finished eating their food and drank their entire soybean milks, they threw their trash into the trash can and left the cafeteria with Tifara. Chapter 3: The Most Embarrassing Moment When the five minute warning bell rang, Tifara and her friends fought through the crowd as lots of students hurriedly walked to their homeroom classes without being late. The students'' chatter echoed throughout the hallways. The administrators stood there and watched the crowd in the halls to ensure order on school campus. Some students go for the areas of Years Hei and Waw while others go upstairs for the areas of Years Zayin and Het. Certain number of boys stared at Tifara''s curvy body with their reddened cheeks, while the girls gossiped with each other about Tifara. Tifara raised her sad eyebrows and held onto her necklace while her heart beated harder. She ignored those who mistreated her and looked up at the ceiling. Dear Elohim, she thought, Please give me strength to overcome this. In Yeshua''s name, Amen. Then her eyes began to search everywhere for President Saul and Calpurnia, yet they were nowhere to be found. Great...looks like Saul''s not here...Tifara thought, sighing, He''s probably in the Year Zayin section since he''s a Junior now. I guess I''ll have to see him later on today. If not, I''ll have to get my friends to eat breakfast next to him tomorrow. Tifara smiled at the thought of Calpurnia not being around Saul. But at least Calpurnia''s not with him now, she happily thought, That''s a relief. Whew! Once Tifara and her friends made their way to the area of Year Waw, they first walked towards Tifara''s homeroom period. A portion of students behaved the same way as the ones outside of the Year Waw section were. Tifara tightened her grip onto her necklace and frightenedly moved her eyes sideways, while May patted on her shoulder as a form of comfort. Sam and Dalila chatted with one another and remained focused on Tifara''s safety at the same time. Sweat poured down all over her face. Her heart pounded harder than ever before. Awe man, she thought, When will this shit ever end?! May turned to Tifara and whispered, "Remember what I told you." After Tifara recalled May''s advice earlier, she turned to May and smiled, "I will. Thanks, May." "Mhn," May replied, "You''re welcome." Tifara continued to take May''s advice and remained focused on her walk towards her homeroom period, lessening her grip on her necklace. May looked around the hall with Sam and Dalila with her serious look on her face. When Tifara and her friends finally made it to Tifara''s homeroom class, Tifara stood near the door, smiling and waving at her friends. "Bye, guys! Thanks for protecting me! I praise Elohim for this!" "No, problem, Tifara," Dalila exclaimed, smiling and waving back at Tifara. "Yea, man! We''ll come back here after your first homeroom period!" Sam also exclaimed, performing the same actions as his girlfriend. "Mhn," May said, shaking her head as she behaved the same towards Tifara as the couple did. As soon as her friends went their separate ways for their homeroom periods, Tifara turned around and ignored the crowd. Ok, Tifara, she thought, Time to enter the classroom and get it over with! When she was about to enter her homeroom class, she heard a girl''s voice a bit far away from her yelling, "Hey! Give me back my book!" "Huh?!" Tifara asked, curiously turning to her right, expressing her sad face. There she saw a girl with black glasses putting her hand out forward, while one of Calpurnia''s friends ran away from that girl with her paperback book a bit far away from her. She had black, wavy hair, light brown eyes and dark pale skin. "Well, hey, if you want it, come and get it!" One of Calpurnia''s friends sang, chuckling viciously. "Ugh!" The girl with black glasses said, clenching her fist as she ran after one of Calpurnia''s friends. "I said give it back!" Giving her an evil grin, she threw the book to her friend on the left side of the hall like she was throwing it into a basket. "Here you go, Jecolia! Catch!" she said, laughing viciously. "I got it, Abby!" Jecolia responded, holding her hands out forward in the air. As soon as Jecolia caught the book in the air with her two hands without fail, she hummed out of joy. She had orange, straight hair and tan skin. Her vicious blue eyes stared at the girl with glasses. "Come and get it!" "Ugh! I''m serious, you guys! Give that back!" The girl with glasses yelled, running after Jecolia. "I''m gonna be late to class, y''know!" Tifara glared at Calpurnia''s friends. Alright, I gotta go help her before she''s late to her first homeroom period, she thought, running forward. Once the girl with glasses was about to retrieve her book, Jecolia chuckled and threw it back towards Abby. "Here, catch it!" "Don''t mind if I do," Abby said. Okay, now''s my chance to catch that book! Tifara thought, displaying her serious, determined look on her face, running towards the book. Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. Once she caught it in the air with her two hands, she walked towards the girl with glasses. "Ugh!" Abby roared quietly while she and Jecolia glared at Tifara. "What a bitch!" "That whore has to ruin our fun, does she?!" Jecolia angrily asked. "Ah!" The girl with glasses stared at Tifara. Her eyes widened and twitched a little sideways. Her mouth was opened a little bit and a little sweat poured down on her face from her forehead. She shivered and sadly looked at Tifara. "Here," Tifara said, handing the book back to the girl with glasses. "Oh, uh-uh..." The girl with glasses said to Tifara, grabbing the book from Tifara''s hands. She quickly turned around and tightly held her book onto her chest. "Thank you, Tifara...Uh-uh, I truly appreciate it..." "You''re welcome," Tifara said, closing her eyes. She smiled and turned her head sideways to the left. "So, uh, next time..." The girl with glasses said, "Please don''t assist me anymore..." Tifara confusedly opened her eyes and raised her eyebrow at the girl with glasses. She put her head up straight. "Um, why would I do that though?" "Because..." The girl with glasses paused there for a moment. "Because what?" Tifara asked. "Because...I don''t want to be associated with a slutty girl like you!" The girl with glasses cried, quickly walking away from Tifara in the hallway. "Ah!" Tifara widened her eyes and opened her mouth. She then clenched her fists and looked down below her. Ugh! Tifara thought out of frustration, Why can''t people just judge me based off of my heart rather than my physical appearance like Elohim and Yeshua has?! It''s so frustrating! "Awe, look has been rejected as soon as you helped her out!" A girl''s voice echoed behind Tifara. Ah! Tifara thought as she recognized that girl''s voice, turning around to examine. She then expressed her serious face with her mouth opened, showing off her straight, white teeth. It''s Calpurnia! she angrily thought. There she saw Calpurnia chewed on her gum and twisted one of her ponytails with her index finger. Oh, great! It jus'' can''t get any worse, can it?! Jus'' what the hell does this dickhead want now?! Tifara angrily thought. After Calpurnia popped her pink bubble gum, she said, "Welcome back to school, Titsfara. I''m glad to see you again. I miss tearin'' your ass down, like last year. Am I right, girls?" "Uh-huh!" Calpurnia''s friends happily agreed, closing their eyes, shaking their heads. Calpurnia then turned to the crowd. "Do you guys agree with me that Tifara''s thighs are fat and ugly?" "Yes!" The crowd yelled, chattering with one another. Tifara looked down below her as her shadow covered her forehead and eyes. I-I-I can''t believe it...Tifara thought, I can''t believe my first day of school has gotten worse. First, I faced the same kind of treatment as last year. Second, Calpurnia had breakfast with Saul. Now Calpurnia embarrassed me like this. I have never been...this embarrassed in my entire life! How much worse can this day possibly get?! "Well, I certainly didn''t miss you guys!" Tifara roared, tightening her clenched fists. "I don''t want anything to do with y''all! If you excuse me, I''ll be headin'' to class now, so I won''t be late and get into trouble on my first day of school, alright?!" As soon as Tifara turned around and headed for her homeroom class, Calpurnia viciously laughed with and said to her friends, "Oh? We''ll see about that. Watch me, girls." Calpurnia quickly walked towards Tifara and tripped over Tifara''s legs halfway towards Tifara''s homeroom class. Eh?! Tifara thought while she fell down in the air. Once Tifara''s body slammed against the white, tiled floor, the students around her chattered louder. The boys'' cheeks blushed when they looked at Tifara''s curvy body and the girls including Calpurnia and her friends laughed at her and gossiped about her even more than ever before for a moment. "Titsfara! Titsfara! Titsfara!" Calpurnia said out loud as the rest of the students chanted with her. Ugh! Tifara thought, closing her eyes, reddening her embarrassed cheeks, placing her hands over her ears. She quickly sat up and sadly looked up at the ceiling. Oh, Elohim...Tifara sadly thought, Please help me... "What''s going on here?!" An administrator''s voice asked, echoing behind Tifara while Tifara quickly stood up from the floor. After the administrator fought through the crowd, her wrinkled face and grey eyes immediately glared at Tifara. The ceiling lights flashed onto her mostly light brown hair and her pale skin. She wore her feminine business suit and black high-heeled shoes. Oh, great...Ms. Acerbi''s here...Tifara sadly thought, She''ll make my life livin'' hell, that''s for sure. "You...I knew you would cause trouble around here!" Mrs. Acerbi yelled, "You came back in the new year, and caused the same kind of trouble as last year!" "But I didn''t do anything wrong, Ms. Acerbi," Tifara said. "She certainly did too, Ms. Acerbi!" Calpurnia disagreed. "She literally sexually harassed everyone, forcing them to compliment on her thighs and call her Titsfara!" "What?!" Ms. Acerbi roared, turning towards Calpurnia. She then nearly closed her eyes while she angrily looked at Tifara. "No, that''s not true!" Tifara yelled, "Calpurnia asked the crowd about my thighs and tripped me over and encouraged everyone to chant that so-called nickname, just to embarrass me in front of everybody. Everyone saw it!" Ms. Acerbi turned to the crowd. "Was Tifara telling the truth?" "No!" The majority of students however answered, siding with Calpurnia over Tifara. Then Ms. Acerbic glared at Tifara even more and breathed harder. "Eh!?" Tifara widened her eyes out of shock and opened her mouth a little, sucking her teeth at the crowd. "Y''all are lyin''. Y''all saw Calpurnia did these things, and you guys know it!" "Tifara...I know you would cause so much trouble, but not like this! Not only did you lie to me earlier yet you also did something this indecent! Yet you think way more than two witnesses would ever lie about what they just saw?!" Ms. Acerbi roared, walking towards Tifara. "You''re coming with me, young lady!" "But, Ms. Acerbi. I-" Tifara tried to say something, yet Ms. Acerbi grabbed her arm. "I don''t want to hear any more excuses from you any longer, Tifara!" Ms. Acerbi roared before she turned back to the crowd. "Everyone else go straight to your homeroom classes immediately, or you''ll get an office referral! Now get going!" When the final bell rung, the remaining students headed for their classrooms while Ms. Acerbi took Tifara straight to the principal''s office. Tifara saddened her face once more. She looked up at the ceiling and thought, Elohim...why are You doin'' this to me? Tifara prepared herself for the worst to come. Chapter 4: Meeting David As soon as Tifara entered Mrs. Kane''s classroom, she looked around and noticed that each student sat at the black rectangle tables in pairs. Looking up at the ceiling, she noticed the green and blue Adaman globe and other colorful planets within the galaxy that Adama resided in hung around there. Oh, so Mrs. Kane''s a science teacher, huh? Tifara thought, That''s pretty cool. Her classmates stopped what they were doing and looked at her. The majority of the students just emotionlessly stared at her, and a portion of boys gazed at her curvy body while some girls glared at her. Mrs. Kane''s class chattered and gossiped about Tifara of her "sexual harassment" incident. Mrs. Kane sighed and glared at Tifara when she first saw Tifara. Tifara looked down below her and held onto her necklace as she tightly held onto her white paper. Oh, please end this suffering already, Elohim! Tifara sadly thought, Please! Please! The paper she held onto was her excuse slip since she spent ten minutes being scolded by the principal of the incident, which was almost half of her first homeroom period. Besides, Mrs. Kane already marked her absent. Tifara''s school district never allowed their students to be sent home for their bad behaviors, in order to prevent them from doing their make-up work. "Oh, I''m guessing you must be Tifara, is that right?" Mrs. Kane asked. Her honey-colored, curly hair, big glasses and pale skin sighed at Tifara. "Yep, that''s right, Mrs. Kane," Tifara responded, walking towards her homeroom teacher, handing her excuse slip to her teacher. Mrs. Kane sighed as soon as she examined Tifara''s excuse slip. "Ugh, this year''s going to be my worst nightmare, isn''t it?" Tifara gave her homeroom teacher her annoyed look. Oh, great, she thought, I can''t believe she thinks I caused that incident on purpose too, huh? Well, this is going to be one hell of an annoyin'' ass year. She looked up at the ceiling. Oh, Lord, she thought, Please help me. Once Mrs. Kane unmarked Tifara''s absence, she looked around and saw an unseated area near a redheaded boy. He appeared to be either eleven or twelve years old. "You sit next to David over there, got it?" Mrs. Kane said, pointing her finger at David. "That''s going to be your assigned seat from now on." Tifara looked at what Mrs. Kane pointed her finger at. "Yes, ma''am." "Good," Mrs. Kane said, handing Tifara a piece of paper. "Here¡this is your first assignment. You have five minutes to complete it, because I''ll be calling you up her for you to introduce yourself to the class." Tifara looked over her first assignment. "Got it." "Good, now sit down," Mrs. Kane demanded. "Yes, ma''am," Tifara said as she walked up to her assigned seat. Once she sat in her seat and began her assignment, David began to look at her face. When Tifara finished her assignment in less than three minutes, she turned to David and smiled. "Hi, David." David quickly turned the other way without responding to her. She then glared at him, tapping onto his shoulder three times. "Hey, I''m talking to you!" Tifara snapped, "It''s rude to ignore someone like that, y''know!" "I don''t talk to girls who sexually harass people and lies about it!" David roared, twisting his body around. "So don''t even bother touchin'' me nor talkin'' to me, okay?" Tifara growled at David. Great, first my homeroom teacher thinks I caused the sexual harassment incident, and David does too?! What a bunch of bitches! she thought, This is definitely gonna be the worst school year in my life, that''s for sure! "Tifara!" Mrs. Kane snapped. "In just what do you think you''re doing?! You''re not sexually harassing David too now, are you?!" Support the creativity of authors by visiting the original site for this novel and more. "No, not at all, Mrs. Kane," Tifara responded while the rest of the students watched Tifara and David, gasping at the situation. "I was trying to get to know him, that was all." "Was that true, David?" Mrs. Kane asked. "Well, she didn''t sexually harass me," David responded. Tifara sighed out of relief. Well, I''ll have to hand it to David, she happily thought, Even though he was bein'' a total asshole, at least he was tellin'' the truth about me not sexually harassin'' him though. I''ll give it that. "But she was just tryin'' to annoy me," David continued. Tifara sucked her teeth at David. Nuh! she thought, widening her eyes open with her mouth open when she heard what David said to Mrs. Kane. She then glared at him. Oh, wow! Just when I just gave him credit for tellin'' the truth at first. He now just said shit like that, like for real?! she angrily thought, Wow, David! Thanks a lot! Mrs. Kane angrily turned to Tifara. "Now Tifara, you leave David alone this instant, young lady, do you hear me?!" "Ah!" Tifara cried. "But I didn''t do anything wrong, Mrs. Kane!" "Don''t you ever lie to me!" Mrs. Kane roared. "Either you do as you''re told, or you''ll get an office referral. Is that clear?!" "Yes, ma''am," Tifara responded after realizing that she won''t win trying to prove her innocence. "Good," Mrs. Kane said, returning her attention to her computer screen. Tifara glared at David even more while he ignored her. Oh, Elohim, she thought, looking up at the ceiling, Please help me control my anger that leads to vengeance. Because I already hate David for what he''d done to me, please forgive him as I''ve forgave him for it. In Yeshua''s name, Amen. When the five minutes were over, Mrs. Kane turned to Tifara. "Tifara. You''re up! Time to introduce yourself to the class." "Yes, ma''am. I''m coming," Tifara responded, getting up from her seat and walked toward the white board with some red and green writing on it near Mrs. Kane''s desk. The class began to chatter with one another; some boys stared at Tifara''s curvy body with their reddened cheeks and various girls gossiped behind Tifara''s back. David just glared at Tifara, nearly closing his eyes without even saying a word. Ah, this is so annoyin''! Tifara thought, annoyedly moving her eyes to the left. Why can''t it stop, like, for real?! When she made it halfway towards it, she turned around and held her paper up to her face. "Quiet now, quiet, quiet! A student''s about to give her speech," Mrs. Kane demanded. Once the entire class was silent and paid attention to Tifara, Mrs. Kane turned her attention to her. "Alright, go ahead, Tifara. You may begin." "Thank you, Mrs. Kane. I will," Tifara said as she only looked down at the paper instead of her audience. "Hello, everyone. My name is Tifara. I am currently thirteen years old and I was born on December 8th of Year Seven Jehoiakim, right here in Maritima, Mekura. My parents are both workers. I have a little sister and her name is Yulogia. She''s currently eleven years old and is in Year Dalet of Elementary School. "I love to spread the Gospel with my friends. As you can see, I am already Elohim''s minister and will continue to do so. His character inspires me to spread the Gospel and get to know Him and His Son..." The class chuckled when they heard about her ministry work, chattering with one another, especially the girls. Everyone except David. For some reason, he was silent and just confusedly glared at Tifara. "Tifara as the Lord''s minister?" One girl asked her classmates. "She couldn''t possibly do that. Elohim would never accept a whore like her. She''ll definitely burn in Gehenna for being a slut." "I know, right?" Another girl asked her classmates. She annoyedly glared at her classmates. Ugh! She angrily thought, These people think they know Elohim, just because they read certain Bible verses and have their Biblical discussion daily and spend Biblical family time with Him every Saturday! They''re so damn arrogant! Then she sighed and sadly looked at her classmates. David raised his eyebrow while he watched her look up at the ceiling. Dear Lord, she thought, Please forgive them for what they''ve done to me, because I forgive them for what they''ve done. Please be patient with them as You have done before. In Yeshua''s name, Amen. "That''s enough now, class!" Mrs. Kane roared. "That''s quite enough!" As soon as the entire class quieted down, Mrs. Kane turned to Tifara. "Now you may continue, Tifara." "Thank you, Mrs. Kane," Tifara said, sighing out of relief as she turned back to her paper. "I also love reading the Bible and having a personal relationship with Elohim and His Son Yeshua. My favorite chapter is 1 Samuel 16, because I feel that chapter not only demonstrates Elohim doesn''t judge people based on physical appearance but instead judges people based on their hearts. It also demonstrates He judges wisely-the exact opposite of man. "I''m a member of a cooking club at school, because I love to cook and provide meals to everyone, especially for my ministry work. I help provide food for the poor and downtrodden every weekend. And finally, I''m planning on getting my degree in Theology after Secondary School to better perform my ministry work." "Well then, Tifara. That was an¡interesting introduction if you ask me. Looks like we''ll be giving you an applause," Mrs. Kane said, turning to her students, getting ready to give Tifara an applause. "Everyone, give Tifara a round of applause, please." Everyone obeyed Mrs. Kane and immediately clapped for Tifara, chattering with one another, while she returned to her assigned seat. She tightly held onto her necklace, as some of the boys ogled at her and some of the girls laughed at her, gossiping about her. Oh, Lord. Please let it end already, she thought, sitting down in her seat. David continuously glared at her when he saw her just laid her head on her desk and placed her hand near her face. Then he took out his blank piece of paper from his binder and began to draw. He drew for the remaining five minutes. Once he finished his beautifully detailed drawing of a human skull, a shadow covered him and the drawing behind him as soon as the bell rang. "Whoa! That''s a pretty good drawing you got there!" A girl''s voice echoed. "Huh?!" He cried, quickly turning around to frighteningly see Tifara spotted his drawing. "Nuh!" "Alright now. Class is dismissed," Mrs. Kane''s voice said as the students began to exit the classroom for their first period class. David quickly placed his drawing in his binder, grabbed it and stood up from his seat, angrily walking away from Tifara. "Hey, get the hell away from me, you slut!" Tifara glared at David, nearly closing her eyes, crossing her arms. "Um, I was just complimenting your drawing. Gosh!" Mrs. Kane sighed when she glared at Tifara, asking herself, "Does this girl always cause trouble?!" Ooooh! Why do I care?! she angrily thought, Just screw that bitch David, Tifara! He''s just not worth your time anyway, girlfriend! Seeing her friends near Mrs. Kane''s classroom door, she smiled at them and thought, Oh, give praise to Elohim for sending my friends here to protect me! She looked up at the ceiling with a smile. Thank You, Elohim for everything. She exited the classroom to meet up with her friends as they began to walk her to her first period class. Chapter 5: David in the Hall While Tifara and her friends walked through the hallway, they walked in the same position as before. The majority of students didn''t even bother looking at Tifara when they were minding their own business. A portion of students behaved the same way as the ones before, still mentioning her sexual harassment incident, which caused Tifara to hold onto her necklace. Oh, my Elohim! Make it stop! Make it stop! Make it stop already! Tifara thought, tightly closing her embarrassed eyes, tightening her grip onto her necklace. As Sam and Dalila chatted with one another, they focused on the crowd before one of them turned to Tifara. May patted on Tifara''s shoulder for comfort while also being on the lookout. Tifara tried to ignore the rude ones, but fear and anxiety took hold of her heart and made it beat faster. Looking up at the ceiling, she thought, Dear Lord, please give me strength to overcome my persecution. I can''t do this without You, You know. In Yeshua''s name, Amen. "Yo, Tifara. Are you alright?" May asked after noticing her best friend''s anxiety. Tifara turned to May. "Oh, I''m fine. It''s just hard to ignore the rude people here on my own, so I prayed to Elohim in my head for His spiritual strength to overcome this. Sorry I troubled you." May smiled at Tifara and shook her head. "Oh, no. Not at all. You''re doin'' great. Keep doin'' what you''re doin'', and you''ll be fine and be able to overcome this, big time." Tifara smiled back at May. "Thanks, May." "Sure, no prob!" May grinned and closed her eyes. "So Tifara," Sam said. Tifara turned to Sam. "Yea? What''s up?" "What''s your first period room number?" Sam asked. "We need to take you there and come to get you after the second passing period bell rings." "Oh, uh, it''s Room Waw-One, I think?" Tifara answered, looking up at the ceiling with her index finger touching her chin. "I''ll go check my schedule in case I was wrong." "Good idea," Sam said when he and his friends stopped moving for a moment. Tifara pulled out her backpack and dug through it, searching for her schedule. She then examined it. "Okay, so it turns out I was wrong. It''s Room Waw-Three, and I have Mr. Baker as my first period teacher." "Good," Sam said while Tifara placed it back into her backpack and wore her backpack on her back. "Now let''s keep moving." "Mhn," Tifara, May and Dalila said when they walked towards Tifara''s first period class. "And about your first passing period¡" Dalila frowned at Tifara at first. "Why the hell didn''t you just enter your homeroom class?! I heard that you got in trouble today, and I wasn''t the only one who was worried sick about you! I bet May and Sam were worried too, y''know! We didn''t even get a chance to call or message you, because our homeroom teachers didn''t allow their students to do so unless it''s considered an emergency, which they didn''t consider your situation as an emergency! You shouldn''t make us worried like that!" After May and Sam shook their heads, Tifara told them everything that happened and added, "Ms. Acerbi didn''t even give me a chance to call or text you guys either. I''m sorry I caused you guys to worry. I just wanted to help that girl. That was all." "We understand that, but still¡" Dalila roared when she, her boyfriend and May gave Tifara a serious look on her face, then smiled at her. "You still coulda just entered the homeroom class, y''know." "I know, Dalila. I know. You don''t need to repeat that phrase twice, y''know," Tifara said, turning her annoyed eyes to the right. While Tifara and her friends continued to look out for the rude students as well as Calpurnia and her friends, they walked through the hallway. Tifara looked around the hallway and she saw them either chatting with one another or they just walked straight to their classrooms. Then her eyes spotted David standing there in the hallway, listening to music with his red ear buds in his ears. Tifara turned her annoyed face back to the front and moved her eyes to the left with a frown, closing her arms. Look, I don''t wanna look David in the face right now, ''cause I jus'' can''t stand him, especially after he treated me like that in my first homeroom period?! No way, girlfriend! No way I''ll wanna see his freakin'' face ever again! Tifara angrily thought. "Look, Calpurnia and her friends are going after one of the students now," Dalila said, pointing her finger at Calpurnia and her friends. Huh?! Tifara curiously thought. She, May and Sam looked at what Dalila was pointing her finger at. There they saw Calpurnia and her friends walking towards David, smugly looking down at him. David gave them his serious face as Calpurnia pulled his headphones out of his ears. The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. "Hey!" David roared, kneeling down on the floor, picking up his earphones. "I''m ''bout to talk to you, loser!" Calpurnia said, twisting one of her ponytails, chewing her bubble gum. "I don''t need you to have your earbuds in your ears while I''m speakin'' to you, little boy." After the crowd laughed at David, including Calpurnia''s friends, he growled and glared at Calpurnia. "Well, what the hell do you want, Calpurnia?! I don''t want anything to do with you." After Calpurnia popped her bubble gum, she responded, "So¡I heard you''re plannin'' on runnin'' for Secondary School Presidency, huh?" Whoa, hold up! Tifara thought, widening her eyes while gazing at David, Calpurnia and her friends, David wants to run for Secondary School Presidency against Saul?! Well, that was¡an interesting goal he got there. I wonder why he''s doin'' that though¡ "Yea, why the hell do you care? It''s not like it''s any of y''all''s business anyway," David snapped. Calpurnia gave David her annoyed look on her face. "I''m sorry, but what makes you think you can become a Secondary School President? You really think people will pick a short loser like you over Saul? Let''s face it, bruh. You will never, ever become Secondary School President, no matter how hard you try. Saul''s very popular ''round here, and will continue to do so. And there is nothing you can do about it, so jus'' do me a favor and give up already." Well, I hate to break it to David, but Calpurnia''s got a point, Tifara thought, closing her eyes while she walked straight to her first period class with her friends. Not judging his physical appearance or anything, but I really don''t think he has a chance against Saul. He''s way too popular to lose reelection. "No freakin'' way!" David roared, glaring up at Calpurnia. "I''m not gonna give up runnin'' for Secondary School Presidency, even if it''s a long shot!" "And then what?" Calpurnia asked, raising her eyebrow at David. "If you lose this race, you''ll run for Secondary School Presidency again? If you think that''s the case, you''re jus'' flat out delusional, bruh. You might as well give it up and find something else to do." "Yeah, bruh," Jecolia agreed, shaking her head with her eyes closed, giving her wicked smile at David. "Yeah, you tell ''em, girlfriend!" Abby exclaimed, viciously smiling at David, gazing at him with her fist raised. "Um, did I ask you two for your help?!" Calpurnia snapped, moving her eyes left and right. "Oh, uh, no...I guess not¡" Jecolia said, expressing her guilty face when looking at Calpurnia, placing her index fingers together. "Mhn¡" Abby said. "Hm, just as I thought," Calpurnia said when the five minute warning bell rang. More students quickly head for their first period classrooms, and some remain in the hallway, watching David, Calpurnia and her friends standing still in the hallway. "Well, David. I''ll give ya one last chance," Calpurnia commanded, "Give up runnin'' for Secondary School Presidental Race and hand it over to Saul or else¡" "Or else what, ya freakin'' bitch?!" David roared, glaring at Calpurnia. "Or I''ll do somethin'' like this," Calpurnia answered, popping her bubble gum one last time, trying to place it on David''s hair. "Wh-Wh-What the hell?!" David asked, widening his eyes. "Get that shit away from me, ya freakin'' bitch!" David tried to avoid Calpurnia''s chewed up bubble gum, yet he missed her hand. Tifara put her head down with her shadow covering her forehead and eyes. Look, I still hate David, but there''s no way I could jus'' walk away and do nothin'' to help, Tifara thought, He''s bein'' judged for his physical appearance jus'' like me. I gotta help him at this point, even if he hates me. It''s still better to do something than nothing at all. Looking up at the ceiling, Tifara thought, Dear Lord, please help me deliver David from his bullies, and bring him justice. In Yeshua''s name, Amen. Tifara turned around and walked towards Calpurnia and her friends, when Calpurnia grabbed David''s arm and retried to place the gum onto his hair. "Ah! Tifara, what do you think you''re goin''?! It''s this way, not the other way around!" May cried, quickly walking towards Tifara. "Leave, David alone, Calpurnia! He doesn''t deserve to be treated like this," Tifara roared, moving her clenched fists behind her. "Ugh!" Calpurnia stopped what she was doing, and she and her friends turned around for Tifara''s attention. David just glared at her as Calpurnia stood up from the floor and held up her bubble gum in her hand. Then David managed to quickly run away from Calpurnia and her friends to his first period class. "Oh, you. It''s this sexual harassment girl again," Calpurnia roared. "She would always come here to ruin our fun, does she, girls?" "Yes¡" Jecolia replied, glaring at David. "I know, right?" Abby responded, also glaring at Tifara. "Tifara, no!" May cried, grabbing onto her best friend''s arm. "We gotta get you to class, not cause trouble! We gotta hurry before that final bell rings." "Yeah, May''s right, Tifara!" Dalila agreed, shaking her head before touching Tifara. "Let''s go!" Sam said, grabbing onto her arm. "I''m not causin'' trouble, you guys," Tifara responded, turning to her friends behind her. "I helped David with his persecution, didn''t I?" "Well, since Titsfara successfully prevented David from gettin'' gum in his hair, I guess I''ll do it to her. What do you say, girl?" Calpurnia asked her friends. "Uh-huh!" Her friends agreed, closing their eyes, turning to Calpurnia, raising their fists underneath their chins. "Oh, hell no!" Tifara said, turning around and walked towards her first period class while Calpurnia quickly walked towards Tifara. "Let''s go, guys!" "Oh, hell yes!" Calpurnia disagreed, getting ready to place the gum on Tifara''s hair. Okay, gettin'' gum on my hair and bein'' late to class was the last thing I need to do right now, Tifara thought as she quickly walked away from Calpurnia. As soon as Calpurnia got close to Tifara and tried to place the gum onto her hair, May looked up at Calpurnia''s hand and shoved Tifara over. "No!" May said when the gum was accidentally placed into her hair instead of Tifara''s. Calpurnia widened her eyes. "Ugh! What an another, such loser!" She pushed May onto the floor. Tifara turned to her best friend, widening her eyes. "May!" She tried to run for May, yet Sam prevented her from doing so. Dalila ran for May while May was touching her hair and felt chewed up gum on it. "No, Tifara. We gotta go! Let Dalila handle this. She got May covered. Let''s go!" Sam said, pushing Tifara for her first period class. "But-" Tifara cried, looking at both Sam and May at the same time back and forth. "Don''t worry about it, damn it!" Sam roared. "Jus'' turn around and go! You''ll see each other again at lunch time! Jus'' go!" Chapter 6: Lunch Period When the bell rang and the first period ended, students exited their classrooms to head for the cafeteria, chatting with one another. Tifara exited Mr. Baker''s classroom last. She disappointedly sighed and moved her eyes to the left, tilting her head in that direction. Okay, I''m glad I finally left Mr. Baker''s classroom. What a terribly boring teacher. It sucks that I''ll remain to be his student for the rest of the year. Ugh, she thought as she met up with her friends near her math classroom door. "Hi, there, Tifara," her friends said, waving at her. Tifara waved back at them, noticing the red headband on May''s head. "Hi, guys." She turned to her best friend. "So May¡why are you-" "As soon as Calpurnia and her friends left me and Dalila alone in the hallway, Dalila tried to help me get gum out of my hair in the bathroom but realized that she needed scissors to cut a part of my hair, which she didn''t have," May responded as she and her friends headed for the cafeteria. "So we went to the nurse''s office to cut it out. Once that was done, the nurse gave me a headband to cover up that specific part of my hair. Dalila and I received an excuse slip from the nurse, since we were not only late to class yet we were also marked absent." "Yep, that''s exactly right." Dalila shook her head, closing her eyes, smiling at Tifara. "I see¡" Tifara said, guiltily looking down below, then turning her attention to May and Dalila. "Look, I''m sorry. I got you two in trouble. I was tryin'' to help a bullied person back there. That was all¡" "It''s alright, Tifara," May said, "We understand and forgive you." "Yea," Dalila agreed. "Jus'' stay in her lane next time." "Yea," Sam also agreed. Tifara turned her attention back at May and Dalila. "But thank you for savin'' me you two. I truly appreciate it." "So are y''all ready for lunch?" Sam asked. "Hell yea!" Tifara, May and Dalila said. "Let''s go!" **** After Tifara and her friends entered the cafeteria and got their lunch, they scanned the room out of search for their seats. They saw a majority of fifth and sixth year students either chatted with one another, ate food at the tables, walked around the room or went to the courtyard. The administrators watched the crowd to maintain order. Some Freshmen and Sophomore boys ogled at Tifara''s curvy body with their blushed cheeks;a few of them even drool or whistle at her whenever they spotted her. A portion of girls glared at Tifara, gossiping about her. When those types of students were around Tifara, the sixth years even discussed the sexual harassment incident with the fifth years. So it''s obvious that the fifth years now knew about it. Tifara nervously grabbed onto her necklace and looked both sides of the room, breathing hard quickly. She tightly closed her eyes. C''mon, Tifara. Don''t let them get to you, she thought, Jus'' keep movin'' and everything will be fine. May noticed Tifara''s anxiety taking control over her heart, softly patting on Tifara''s shoulder. "Ignore them, Tifara and keep goin''," May said. Tifara smiled at May. "Thanks. I will." "No, prob." May closed her eyes for a moment. As a certain number of students continued on their behavior as ever before, Tifara''s heart pounded more quickly. Her eyes twitched a little and a little sweat came out from her forehead. She tightened her grip onto her necklace. "Oh, there''s Titsfara, that sexual harasser over here!" Calpurnia smugly said as she and her friends walked past Tifara and her friends. Tifara stopped moving and growled for a moment, looking down below while Freshmen and Sophomores laughed with Calpurnia. Her friends turned to Tifara and saddened their faces. "Hey, man. Don''t listen to Calpurnia," Sam said, placing his hand on Tifara''s arm. This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author''s work. "Mhn," Dalila agreed, shaking her head. "Sam''s right. Don''t let it get to you now." "Yea," May also agreed, "Depend on Elohim to guide you and keep you focused." Tifara looked up at her friends and expressed her determined face. "Mhn, you guys are right. Thanks." "You''re welcome," her friends exclaimed as Tifara kept searching for seats with her friends. She then looked up at the ceiling. Dear Elohim, she thought, Please help me overcome my persecution. Give me strength to overcome it. In Yeshua''s name, Amen. Once they found their seats in the middle of the cafeteria, they sat down to eat their food and drank their milk. After that, Sam looked up at his friends. "So how was y''all''s first period class? How did it go?" While Tifara''s friends chatted with one another, Tifara drank her milk. Her eyes scanned the cafeteria and she received some glares from some girls and lustful oogles from some boys. She ignored them because she believed they would''ve wasted her precious time. Then she saw and glared at David eating his food near the hallway to the Electives area alone. A certain number of students looked at and gossiped about him, especially the girls. She tightly closed her eyes and continued sipping her drink. Jus'' ignore David, Tifara, she thought, Jus'' ignore him. He doesn''t deserve your attention. But once Sam''s voice called out her name though, she turned to him and added, "Yea, what''s up?" Sam repeated his question earlier and Tifara answered, "Oh, that¡" She looked to her left and tilted her head sideways in the same direction. "Mr. Baker was so booooriiiiing, bruh. He jus'' stands there and talks his ass off most of the time without saying anything interesting. It''s gonna be the most boring math class for the rest of the year¡" She sighed. "Jus''...great¡" "Oh, I''m sorry to hear that, Tifara," Sam said, giving Tifara a sad look on his face. "I''m sure your second period will be better than your first one and your homeroom period," Dalila said, also giving Tifara her sad face. "Yea!" May agreed. "I jus'' hope so," Tifara said, eating and chewing on her food. "And about my homeroom period¡" "Yea, what about it?" May asked, drinking her milk. "I already hate it with all my heart and it looks like I''ll be coming back to it anyhow," Tifara answered while her eyes scanned the room. "Why?" Dalila asked, raising her eyebrow at Tifara. "Because one, my homeroom teacher sucks," Tifara responded, eating and chewing her food. "She believed I caused trouble, including the sexual harassment incident earlier. My classmate David does too, except worse. He was so rude to me the entire time that I didn''t even get a chance to get to know him; he didn''t even accept my compliment about his drawing." "Ah¡I see¡" Sam said. "I''m sorry to hear that." "It''s okay, Sam," Tifara said. "Thanks." "No, prob," Sam responded. "Man, that David sure sounds like a total jerk," May said, sipping her milk. "Mmm-hmm. Exactly!" Tifara shook her head. "And you''ll meet him again on your second homeroom period in Mrs. Kane''s class, right?" Dalila asked, closing her eyes, leaning her chin against her hands. "Unfortunately, yes¡" Tifara responded with a sigh. "I see¡" Dalila said, opening her eyes, aiming them at Tifara. "Well, jus'' make sure you depend on Elohim when dealin'' with David and Mrs. Kane, alright?" "Oh, don''t worry, Dalila," Tifara said, eating and chewing her food. "I will." While Tifara''s friends continued to eat their food and chatted with one another, Tifara rescanned the entire cafeteria, then expressed her sad face. She no longer found President Saul in the cafeteria like she did last year. She missed seeing him being around in the cafeteria. She sighed out of sadness. Man, I sure do miss Saul bein'' ''round here, she thought. It''s too bad he''s now eating lunch with other Juniors and Seniors an hour later than Freshmen and Sophomores. I wish I''m a seventh year instead of sixth, so I could see him more. I wouldn''t have to especially compete against May and Calpurnia over him, that''s for sure. "Tifara¡" Dalila''s voice shouted near Tifara. "Huh?" Tifara asked, quickly turning to Dalila''s attention. "What''s up?" "Sam wants to talk to you," May answered. "Oh¡" Tifara turned her attention to Sam. "What?" "So are you plannin'' on helpin'' Dalila out on her recovery after school every weekend?" Sam asked. "Yea, of course, I will, Sam," Tifara replied, drinking her milk. "We''ll do it at Dalila''s house, right?" "Yep," Sam responded, closing his eyes, grinning at Tifara. Tifara''s friends continuously chatted with one another while Tifara rescanned the cafeteria and ate her food at the same time. Her eyes spotted David displaying his hall pass to one of the administrators, then he headed straight downstairs. Tifara glared at him, nearly closing her eyes. Okay, where''s David goin''? She curiously thought, I gotta find out where he goes. I''ll have to convince my friends to sit near the Electives section and find out tomorrow. I have to. "Tifara¡" May''s voice echoed near Tifara. "Huh?" Tifara quickly turned to May. "What is it?" "Sam''s speakin'' to ya," Dalila answered. "Oh¡right..." Tifara turned to Sam. "What?" "Who''s your second period teacher? And what''s the room number for second period?" Sam questioned, sipping his drink. "Oh, well, I have Ms. Hill for Room Waw-Seven for Reading," Tifara responded. "Are ya sure ''bout that?" Sam asked. "I''m positive," Tifara said, eating and chewing her food. "I''m sure of it this time." Sam was a little skeptical at first. "Alrighty then¡" "So what place do we wanna go after our Friday and Sunday ministry work?" Dalila asked. "Um, we don''t know yet," May answered, giving Dalila her sad face. "Yea, me neither," Sam also replied as he finished drinking his milk. "Sorry, I can''t say for sure," Tifara responded when she began to finish up eating her food. "But I do know that everybody''s busy gettin'' ready for Rosh Shanna and Yom Kippur this month." "Oh, yea. That''s very true¡" Dalila agreed while finishing up her food and drink. When they finished their food before the bell rang, Tifara and her friends dumped their trash in the black, large trash can and stacked their blue trays on the tray holder. They fought through the crowd while they took Tifara to her Reading class. Tifara continuously depended on Elohim through her friends and His strength to overcome her persecution in the hallways and the Year Waw section. Chapter 7: The Last Hours of the Day As soon as the final warning bell rang, Tifara returned to Mrs. Kane''s class, waving and saying her good-bye to her friends. Her friends did the same while they headed for their homeroom classes. Entering Mrs. Kane''s classroom, Tifara headed her assigned seat. David glared at Tifara before he turned his head to the right. Ooooh, there''s David again, she thought, Remember to jus'' ignore him, Tifara. Jus'' ignore him and everything will be fine. I can guarantee ya that. She held onto her necklace whenever fear haunted her heart among her classmates. Mrs. Kane sighed when she looked at Tifara. Most students chatted with one another, while some students examined Tifara; a portion of girls gossiped about and glared at her, while a certain number of boys ogled at her with their scarlet cheeks. Oh, dear Lord, please help me! Tifara sadly thought, sitting next to David. She ignored David, turning her head to the wall on the left, staring at it. Tifara and David laid their heads on the table and stood there seated in silence for the remaining passing period. Once the final passing bell rang and almost all the students filled the classroom, Mrs. Kane shouted, "Alright, class. Quiet down. I''m going to take a roll call now, so no talking please." Mrs. Kane''s students now chatted with each other in a whisper, and Mrs. Kane yelled out their names including David and Tifara''s. Then she added, "Okay, since today''s the first day of school, we''re going to watch a video. So you have to pay attention to it, because we''ll be discussing it once the video ends. That means no talking." Most students moaned about their second assignment, looking at and talking with one another for a while. But Mrs. Kane reassured her students, "Well, it''s either that or you guys can take some notes and turn it into me. Whichever you want is up to you." When the majority of the students chose the first option, Mrs. Kane closed her eyes and grinned. "Very well then. My first offer it is." Mrs. Kane turned on the smart board from her remote. She searched and played a video about surving the school year on VidTube. Tifara and David watched the video with the entire class. While the video was playing, David turned to Tifara and glared at her once more. "So why the hell did you help me back there?" David asked in a lower voice. "Huh?" Tifara also asked in a lower voice, turning towards David. Uh, I thought this asshat don''t wanna talk to me, and now he does?! She angrily thought. "Oh¡I thought you don''t wanna talk to me, and now you do?!" Tifara snapped in a lower voice. David quietly sucked his teeth at her. "I jus'' askin'' a freakin'' question, that''s all. So don''t get any ideas about this, sexual harassment girl. Gheesh!" Tifara silently growled at David, looking down below her. She clenched her fists as her shadow covered her forehead and eyes. Okay, for real now. I''m really gettin'' sick and tired of David''s bullshit. First, he called me a slut, now he calls me a panty girl like Calpurnia and her friends did?! Seriously, screw David! Tifara furiously thought. "What do you mean ''help you back there?!'' And what the hell are you talkin'' about here exactly?!" Tifara questioned in her low voice. "I was talkin'' about you helpin'' me in the hallway earlier, duh! Don''t ya remember that?!" David replied also in a low voice. Looking up at the ceiling with her index finger placed on her chin, Tifara recalled helping David flee from Calpurnia and her friends in the hallway earlier. "Oh, yeah. I do remember that¡" "So are ya gonna answer the question or not?!" "Yea, yea, yea. I''m gonna answer it, Mr. Impatient Ass! I helped ya because you were judged based on your physical appearance, jus'' like me. You see, I wanna be your friend and get to know ya. I didn''t judge you for your physical appearance, even when I first met ya. And yet you hypocritically judged my physical appearance. Kinda ironic that you wanna run for Secondary School Presidency jus'' for people to take you seriously and treat you with respect because you''re a late bloomer, don''t ya think?" David glared at her even more. "Shut up, bitch! Like don''t help me next time, okay?! I didn''t ask for your help in the freakin'' first place. I was able to take care of myself back there, like a big boy. So butt off! And stay that way!" Tifara crossed her arms and glared back at David. "Fine! So be it!" Mrs. Kane noticed Tifara and David''s quiet chatter, giving them her serious look on her face. "Hey, you two. No talking and watch the video! Especially you, Tifara! I''m going to keep my close eye on you, big time! If I catch you guys talk again, you''ll be staying here after school and write the entire two pages of why I made you two stay numerous times. Do you guys understand me?!" "Yes, ma''am¡" Tifara and David responded, refocusing on the video. If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. "Good," Mrs. Kane said as she refocused on watching the entire class to make sure each student was watching the video that she assigned them to. Tifara leaned her head on the table and glared at David. David is seriously one of the worst kids that I''ve come across. Like for real, Tifara thought, I''m so glad that my second homeroom period is seriously my last period throughout the school day. So that I can leave this crappy school and wouldn''t have to deal with this school, especially David as well as Calpurnia and her shitty ass friends. She then looked up at the ceiling and thought, Dear Lord, please get me out of this school. Please, please! **** It was the fifteenth hour (3pm). The final bell rang and every student left school out of joy, either running or walking back home. Tifara and her friends exited the school and began to walk home as well. Some students behaved the same way towards Tifara as before, and Tifara nervously grabbed onto her necklace with her heart slowly beating faster. May patted Tifara''s shoulder while Sam and Dalila stood firm protecting Tifara and chatted with each other. "There, there¡remember my advice." Recalling May''s advice, Tifara turned to May and shook her head. "Mhn, thanks, May." May closed her eyes. "Mmm-hmm, no prob." Dalila turned to Tifara and May behind her. "Hey, are you guys doin'' okay?" "Yeah, we''re doin'' fine. I''m jus'' comfortin'' her here, that''s all," May responded when she turned to Dalila. Tifara looked sideways with a little sweat coming down from her forehead. Her heart beated faster and she tightened her grip onto her necklace. She looked up the sky and thought, Dear Lord, please deliver me from this mess. In Yeshua''s name, Amen. Sam also turned to Tifara and her best friend behind him. "Well, I guess those rude people were makin'' her nervous. We''ll be on our guard more until we''re off the school grounds. Keep comfortin'' and protectin'' Tifara, May." "Mhn," May agreed, shaking her head. "I will." Tifara''s friends continued to protect Tifara while they walked away from the school campus with Tifara. At least Calpurnia and her friends weren''t around Tifara and her friends to bully and harass Tifara. **** After Tifara waved and said her good-byes to her friends when not one student was present, she began to calmly walk home with a determined face. Alright, Tifara. Time to head home before it gets dark out here, she thought, exiting the suburbia. The neighborhood was quiet and the squished, colorful houses along with the beautiful front yard gardens watched her leave. Then a few moments later, her eyes spotted something far away from her. She nearly closed her eyes for examination. She saw a student, who appeared to wear the same uniform as her, walking forward on the sidewalk. Yet her vision was blurry to get the full picture. It looks like it might be a student from my school, she thought as she didn''t move a muscle and held onto her necklace. I don''t know who this person is, but I better stay here and see for a better look. ''Cause I don''t want to run into some kind of person, who wanna act on his sexual attractions towards me like that boy did last year. Although that person walked closer to the end of the street, Tifara realized that was President Saul. Huh?! Saul?! she thought, widening her eyes, opening her mouth. I don''t know why he came here, but my future husband''s here! Ah! So excitin''! She quickly took a look around in front of and behind her, and only saw a few adults either walking on the sidewalk, driving their cars or cultivating their gardens. Looks like Calpurnia and May aren''t around! she excitedly thought, smiling, looking down at her hands, rubbing them together. Sweet! Now it''s my opportunity to get to Saul! Too bad May couldn''t come out here to see Saul in her own neighborhood though¡well, it''s too little, too late. Then Tifara expressed her nervous face. I jus'' hope Saul accepts me, otherwise I''ll be doomed. We''ll jus'' have to find out, don''t we?! After she took a deep breath, she walked up to Saul. Once Saul stopped at the end of the street, he looked both ways before he crossed the street. He got onto another sidewalk and he gazed at Tifara. Tifara''s cheeks blushed and she looked at Saul and down below back and forth, while she was still walking towards him. Oh my God, Saul''s starin'' at me! Ah! I can''t wait to get close to him! she excitedly thought. "Huh?" Saul asked, widening his eyes and continuously stared at Tifara as she got closer to him. "I think I saw you before. You''re Tifara, right?" "Ah! Why, yes, it is!" Tifara responded, widening her eyes, opening her mouth. Oh my God! He said my name! He said my name! Aaaah, my moment is probably here, bruh! Tifara excitedly thought before she stopped a bit far away from Saul. "Oh, don''t be shy. I''m not here to shame ya. I jus'' wanna¡maybe walk you home, is that alright?" Saul asked. Ah! Did you hear that, Tifara?! Saul wants to walk me home! How freakin'' romantic is that?! And he doesn''t even judge me for my physical appearance?! Wow, I''m game! I better agree to this while I''m at it! He-he-he, she thought, excitedly walking towards Saul. Then she and Saul walked together out of suburbia. Saul looked down at Tifara. "So how are ya doin'' today?" Tifara looked back up at Saul. "I''m doin'' good, and you?" Saul closed his eyes and grinned. "I''m doin'' well. Thank you." "So did you have a good first day of school?" "Yep, I sure did. It''s nice bein'' one of the most popular kids in school, since I''m a Secondary School President now. And you?" "Uh¡" Tifara embarrassedly looked down below her. "Um¡" "You know what? It''s fine if you don''t wanna answer that question." "Oh¡" Tifara looked up at Saul. "Well, thank you so much, President Saul." "You''re welcome, and you can jus'' call me Saul. No need to call me by my honorary title, y''know." Tifara closed her eyes with a smile, waving her palm at Saul. "Oh, sure. No biggie." Then she put her palm down and looked Saul in the eye. "So how do you know my name?" "Oh, don''t tell him I told you this, but your friend Sam showed me pictures of you and told me all about you." "Ah, I see that now¡" Chapter 8: Goin Home While Tifara and Saul strode around the city shopping area, the sky nearly blackened and the street lights were just turned on. The moonlight shone its light upon Maritama. People moved past them, vehicles strode on the road, plenty of Mom and Pop stores were bustling. Tifara looked up at Saul and smiled at him. "So how do you like being a Secondary School President now, Saul?" "Oh, it was alright," Saul responded with his eyes closed and a grin. "But I''m not only a Secondary School President." Tifara excitedly gasped and widened her eyes. "No way! Really?!" Saul shook his head. "Then what else are you then?" Tifara asked. "Well, I''m also a leader of a youth group in one of Mekuria''s churches." "Aaaah, that''s pretty cool. So what do you do?" "Well, I led my team to receive money and buy stuff for charity and have some Bible studies together at the church. I''m responsible for the team and finances." Ah, this is amazing! I''m hanging out with Saul! He''s in two leadership positions! Isn''t it amazing?! I jus'' hope I don''t mess this up and scare away my future husband, Tifara excitedly thought as she applauded with her cheeks blushed. "Oh, that''s awesome, Saul. I bet that''s a lot of responsibilities." "Oh, yeah. It sure is." "Anyway, I hope you keep up the good work!" "Thanks." "You''re welcome." "Say, since you''re a Christian, you should come and visit our church this Saturday." "But I don''t go to church though. I''ve never been to church before in my life." Saul gave Tifara his cute, sad face. "Oh, c''mon, Tifara. Pleeease. It won''t take long." "Well, uh¡" Tifara just gave Saul her sad look. Alright, Tifara. You gotta go to his church, she thought, I mean, He''s your future husband after all. You don''t wanna lose him, do ya? Tifara shook her head. "Alright, I''ll go." "Great!" Saul closed his eyes. "Now don''t forget to dress like you''re at a fancy restaurant and wear a headcovering." "Oh, I won''t." "And please make sure you be there at the eleventh hour (11am)." "I will." Now since I''m goin'' to Saul''s church. I jus'' hope May and Calpurnia know about this. Speaking of Calpurnia¡Tifara thought, expressing her sly smile on her face. "So Saul." "Yes?" "You usually eat breakfast with Calpurnia since January. Will she be comin'' to the church this Saturday?" "Uh, yeah. Of course she is..." Saul closed his eyes and smiled. Oh, dammit! I may have to compete with Calpurnia over Saul afterall¡Jus'' great¡Tifara sadly thought as she leaned to her side with her sad face. "Tifara, are you alright?" Saul asked, raising his eyebrow. "Oh, yea. I''m totally fine," Tifara answered. "Are you sure?" "Yea, I''m positive." "Okay, good. You almost gave me a heart attack or something." Tifara closed her eyes. "Oh, I''m sorry I caused that to happen. It''s totally my bad." Saul also closed his eyes. "Oh, that''s okay, Tifara. I forgive you." Saul reopened his eyes, looked up at the sky and placed his hand on his chin. "Anyway, where were we?" He paused for a moment. "Oh, yea. Calpurnia¡" He turned back to Tifara. "Look, I understand you''re personally not a fan of her. But she''s my neighbor and her parents help mine out. So of course we go to church together. Jus'' try to get along with one another, so as to not embarrass me in front of churchgoers, please?" "I''ll try my best not to disappoint you." "Good." If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. Then Tifara took a look around and noticed something. Huh? She thought, watching David entering one if the Mom and Pop shops. But David didn''t notice her. She glared at him and nearly closed her eyes. What the hell''s David doin'' at the restaurant this late?! Is that his family business or something?! I''ll investigate tomorrow, she curiously thought. "Uh, Tifara?" Saul asked, reraising his eyebrow at Tifara. Tifara turned to Saul. "Yes?" "Are you okay? ''Cause you''ve been starin'' at that store for quite a while now." Tifara closed her eyes and scratched the back of her head. "Oh, that? Yea, I''m fine. I jus'' thought that shop looked interesting for me to look at. That''s all." Saul gazed at the store one last time. "Yea, you''re right. It sure is interesting though, I''ll tell ya that. Maybe we should at least visit there tomorrow." "Why, yea. Of course we should. I mean, I don''t see why not." "Totally, bro. Totally." Tifara and Saul continued their stroll until they made it to Tifara''s apartment complex. Tifara turned around, closed her eyes and grinned at Saul. "Thanks for walkin'' me home, Saul. I truly appreciate it." Saul closed his eyes and grinned. "No prob. It''s nice walkin'' with you." "So I''ll see ya tomorrow then. Bye!" Tifara waved at Saul. "Yea, you too! Bye!" Saul waved back at Tifara, walking away from her. Once he left, Tifara''s excited eyes glowed. She placed her hands on her cheek and smiled in amazement. "Ah! I can''t believe I walked with Saul this evening! It''s so amazing, and we''ll walk together tomorrow and visit the store that David goes to. Aaaah! So romantic!" Then she walked upstairs humming. When she made it to her apartment door, she took off her backpack and dug through it in search of her keys. Once she found them, she opened the door and entered the house. "I''m home!" "Welcome home, Tifara!" Her parents and little sister said. A small, light-brownish dog excitedly barked at and dashed for Tifara while she took off her outside shoes and put on her house slippers. She kneeled down and gently rubbed the dog''s head and belly. "Hi there, Todo. How was your day? Was it good? Yea? Well, I''m glad to hear that!" Tifara''s little sister walked towards Tifara. "Hi, Tifara! Did you have a good first day of school?" Then she frowned, looking down below her. "''Cause¡I didn''t¡" Tifara frowned back at her sister. "Oh, I''m sorry you didn''t have a good first day of school today, Yulogia. I didn''t have it either." "It''s okay, Tifara," Yulogia said, frowning at her sister. "And I''m sorry you had to go through that too." Tifara smiled at Yulogia, standing up from the floor. "It''s alright." "And how was helping Dalila recoverin'' from her heart attack comin'' along?" Yulogia asked. "It was alright, I suppose," Tifara responded. "But she is gettin'' better¡very slowly." Yulogia raised her fists up underneath her chin, closed her eyes and grinned. "That''s good to hear, Tifara!" She then turned to her parents. "How was work you guys?" "It was a long day," Her parents responded. "So did you get in trouble at school?" Her mother asked. Tifara just looked down below her and stood there without saying a word. Her shadow covered her embarrassed forehead and eyes. Her parents sighed. "Are you freakin'' serious, Tifara?!" Her dad snapped, placing his hand on his forehead. "Do you have to get in trouble on your first day of school?!" "Eh?! Oh, what the hell did you do now?! Lemme see that office referral!" Her mom roared, putting her palm hand out forward. Tifara pulled out her office referral and gave it to her mom. Her mom examined it and expressed her shocked face, placing her hand on her mouth. "You showed off your panties in the school hallway?! Eh?!" "What?!" Her dad also expressed his shocked face when looking at his wife and daughter at the same time. "Lemme see that!" Yulogia''s eyes widened when she heard that, watching her mom handing over the office referral to her dad. "No, I literally didn''t show off my panties to everybody. Calpurnia tripped me over jus'' to embarrass me there, and everyone lied to the administrator of it. That''s all," Tifara calmly stated. "It doesn''t really matter, Tifara!" Her dad said after looking at the office referral. "You know damn well Mekurians don''t respect people like you and your sister, and they''ll do everything they can to take you down. You still could''ve stayed out of trouble." "Yeah! That''s exactly right!" Her mom agreed as she and her husband signed the office referral together and handed it to Tifara. "You would''ve save us alot of stress from that shitty ass school and this shitty ass school district, if you jus'' stayed out of trouble and go on with your business!" Tifara sucked her teeth at her parents and crossed her arms. "But I was helpin'' that girl get her book back. I couldn''t jus'' stand by and do nothin'', y''know." Her dad banged on the table and pointed his index finger at his daughter. "Hey, don''t you start catchin'' an attitude with us and suck your teeth at us! Uncross your arms immediately!" Once Tifara uncrossed her arms, her dad continued, "We''re your parents! You do what we tell you to do! Do you understand me?!" "Yes, sir¡" Tifara answered without an attitude. "Good." Her dad calmly leaned back. "You''re already grounded for a week like your sister. You will not go anywhere with your friends except school, Dalila''s house and ministry work," Her mom said. Tifara''s eyes widened when she heard that. Oh, great! That means I won''t be able to see Saul at church nor visit that store David went into this evening tomorrow. And only Calpurnia will be there! Jus'' great. Jus'' great¡Tifara thought out of shock. "That''s right. Keep it up, and you''ll be grounded for an extra week. Is that clear?" Her mom added with a serious face. "Yes, ma''am¡" Tifara replied. "Now hand over your phone. That tablet and laptop''s comin'' out of your room too," her mom stated, putting her palm out forward. Tifara handed her mom her phone, and her mom stood up from her chair to head for Tifara''s room. When the oven beeped, her mom turned to the oven. "Babe, dinner''s ready. Would you mind getting it for me?" "Sure, no problem," her dad responded, standing up from his chair to get dinner out of the oven. While her mom refocused on Tifara''s room for her laptop and tablet, Tifara thought, Okay, I need to find a way to get into that store as well as a dress and headcover to get to Saul''s church without my parents noticin''. If I don''t, Saul will be saddened by my absence and I can''t allow that to happen. Ever. "Girls, dinner!" Her dad yelled from the kitchen. "Comin''!" Tifara and Yulogia said as they headed for the kitchen. Chapter 9: The Second Day of School The second day of school arrived and Tifara and her friends entered the school building. "I''ll be dropping off my office referral," Tifara announced. "Okay," her friends said as they stood near the front office, watching Tifara handing over her office referral. "Alright, thank you, Tifara. We''ll take it from here," the counter lady said, grinning at Tifara. She had short, white hair, wrinkles on her face and wore glasses. "You''re welcome, ma''am." Tifara smiled back and walked towards her friends. "Alright, are you ready to eat some breakfast?" "Yeah-yuh!" Her friends agreed as they began to head for the cafeteria to eat breakfast. Tifara held her grip onto her necklace when a few girls gossiped about her and a few boys ogled at Tifara with their cheeks blushed. They even discussed her sexual harassment incident. Sam and Dalila were on a lookout for the crowd and chatted with one another, while May tapped her hand onto Tifara''s shoulder. Tifara tightly closed her eyes and put her head down. Her heart beated harder and faster when fear took over her heart. Dear Lord, please help me! She fearfully thought. "Are you alright, Tifara?" May asked while she stared at her best friend. Tifara calmly turned to May. "Yea, I''m fine. I''m currently takin'' your advice." "Hmm." May grinned at Tifara. "Good. I''m glad to hear that." "Oh, and by the way¡" Tifara announced while May watched her, tapping onto the couple''s shoulders. "What?" Sam asked when he and his girlfriend turned to Tifara. "Jus'' as you guys know. My parents grounded me due to yesterday from my phone and internet, so I didn''t bring my phone with me today. Also, I can only go with you guys at school, Dalila''s house or perform some ministry work. That''s all." "And how long will you be grounded for?" Dalila questioned. "Seven more days," Tifara replied. "Oh, I see¡" May said. "Well, in that case, you''re gonna have to remain close to us until you enter into all of your periods, got it?" Dalila said. "Mhn," Tifara agreed, shaking her head. "Good," Sam agreed, turning his head back to the front. "Let''s get goin''." "Right," Dalila said, shaking her head. Looking around the hall, Tifara saw David leaned against the wall with his earbuds on his ears and scanned his surroundings. But once he saw her walking with her friends, he glared at her with his eyes nearly closed. She quickly returned to her front and moved her eyes sideways. Alright, jus'' ignore David. That scummy asshole. Jus'' ignore him and keep goin''. He''s seriously not worth your time, girlfriend, she thought. When Tifara and her friends made it to the cafeteria, they looked around for a moment. Tifara and May spotted Saul and Calpurnia ate breakfast and had a conversation with one another at the same exact table. Okay, now''s the time to convince my friends to eat breakfast near Saul and Calpurnia. I really want to know what they''re talkin'' about here, Tifara thought while she and her friends walked towards the line to get their breakfast. "Sam, Dalila¡" May said as Tifara quickly turned to Sam and Dalila, then May. "What''s up, May?" Dalila asked, turning her head to the right in a one eighty degree angle, aiming her eye at May. "We should sit next to my Saul and Calpurnia once we get our breakfasts," May suggested. Tifara put her head down and her shadow covered her forehead and eyes, clenching her fists. "Uh, ''my Saul?!'' You''re doin'' this again with this shit?!" The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. "Well, of course, Saul''s gonna be my Saul. And if anythin'', he belongs to me, and only me, got it?!" May closed her eyes and placed her hand onto her chest. Oooooh! That''s it! I''m ready to pummel this dickhead to the ground, if that''s all it takes! Tifara angrily thought as she and May growled at one another like dogs getting ready for a fight. Sam turned around and placed his hands on their shoulders, glaring at them, while students around them and the administrators far away from them curiously watched Tifara and May. "That''s enough, you two. Or you''ll be in serious trouble." "Sam''s right," Dalila agreed. "The administrators are also watchin'' us. I mean, you guys don''t want to get in trouble on y''all''s second day of school, do ya?" The moment Tifara and May heard that, they stopped growlin'' at one another and returned to their destination. They guiltily looked down below them and placed their hands together. "Sorry ''bout that, y''all." Sam smiled at them and got his hands off of them. "That''s alright." Then he turned around for his destination. "Now let''s get goin''." He held Dalila''s hand while the students and administrators went back to their businesses. "Mhn," Tifara, May and Dalila agreed, walking with Sam. "And because of y''all''s rivalry over Saul a few seconds ago, we''re definitely not sittin'' near Saul and Calpurnia, got that?" Sam said, moving his eyes to the left. "Ah! But-!" Tifara and May cried, widening their eyes. Sam expressed his angry face. "I said, ''No!'' Dammit. We will not experience shit like that ever again!" Tifara and May expressed their annoyed faces and leaned their bodies forward. "Fine¡" Aaawe, great! Jus'' great! Thanks to this idiot May here, now I''ll have to find out if I''ll be able to meet Saul again in one of these Elective classes! I mean, we''re on Schedule B for Elohim''s sake, Tifara angrily thought before she showed off her smile on her face and placed her finger on her chin. However, at least she and Calpurnia won''t see Saul again after school today. I''ll probably see him in May''s neighborhood. Then we''ll get to see the store where David goes to. **** After Tifara and her friends ate some breakfast and the final bell rung, Tifara and David sat in their assigned seats without even lookin'' at each other in Mrs. Kane''s classroom. They leaned her heads on the table while their classmates chatted with each other. "Alright, students. Quiet down! I''m going to take a roll call," Mrs. Kane said, gazing at her students for a moment, then turning to her computer screen. Once Mrs. Kane finished her roll call, she turned to her students and stood up from her chair. She held several papers in her arm. "This morning, we will be doing a favorites activity with your partner," Mrs. Kane said, passing out one paper per table while she traveled from table to table. "You will take turns for one favorite each before you both move on to another favorite from start to finish. "Raise your hand and I will come to pick up your paper. Please write on a separate piece of paper and don''t forget to put your names on your paper, as well as staple the paper I gave you and your own separate paper." Oh, great! Now I''ll have to do an activity with David, Tifara angrily thought, closing her eyes, dear Elohim, please give me strength to overcome David''s rudeness. She sighed and breathed heavily before she reopened her eyes. David turned his eyes to Tifara and glared at her. When Tifara and David received their assignment from Mrs. Kane, David opened his binder and pulled out a piece of paper from it;Tifara held onto the assignment and examined it. The assignment was titled What is Your Favorite¡? It appeared to be a board game from start at the top right to finish at the bottom left. "Yo, sexual harassment girl," David said, waving his palm above the assignment. Tifara quickly turned her head to her left and crossed her arms. She gave the wall her annoyed face and didn''t bother to say a word to him, growling at him instead. David growled back at her, taping on her shoulder. "Sexual harassment girl¡hellooooo?! Are you listenin'' to me?!" "Call me by my name instead of sexual harassment girl, and I''ll respond to you," Tifara roared. David sighed as he put his head down and his shadow covered his eyes and forehead. "Fine¡" Tifara slightly turned her head to David. "So?! Are you gonna say my name or what?!" "Your name''s Tifara...right?" David asked. Tifara fully turned her head to David with her eyes closed and a grin, putting her hands together. "Yep, that''s my name!" "Ugh!" David said before Tifara reglared at him. "Hey, don''t make me ignore you again," Tifara snapped. "Okay, okay! Sorry! Can we, like, get back to finishin'' this stupid ass assignment, please?!" David cried. "Sure. I would love to do it, David," Tifara calmly said. When Tifara and David finished their assignment and Mrs. Kane picked up their stapled papers, David looked Tifara in the eye one last time. They finished the assignment first before everyone else did in the classroom. "So, why did you stare at me in the hallway earlier this morning?" David asked, glaring at her. "Huh?" Tifara questioned as she regained her focus on David. After David repeated the question, Tifara responded, "Uh, how should I know? I didn''t expect to see you there. Like honestly." "Okay well. Can you stop starin'' at me? It''s pretty annoyin'' to have a sexual harassment girl doin'' that shit to a pubescent boy, y''know." Tifara growled at David. This boy, man. Ooooh, my hatred for him grew more and more each day. Callin'' me sexual harassment girl again, I mean, what the hell, man?! She thought angrily, clenching her fists. "You know what?! Fine! If that''s what you want, then so be it!" Tifara roared before she turned back to the wall with her arms crossed. "Okay, good then!" David put his head on the desk and also stared at the wall far away from him. He and Tifara growled during the remaining first Homeroom period. Chapter 10: P.E. Class Tifara and May''s fourth period class was P.E., and all Mekurian secondary school students were on Schedule B on their second day of school. Then they''ll be back on Schedule A the next day because they leave school at the fifteenth hour (3pm). Whenever Mekurians have P.E., they were expected to change into their gym clothes, even if it was their first day of the class. And that''s exactly what these girls did. In the girls gym, Tifara, May and the rest of the girls focused on Ms. Willard. They were all seventh years and they wore their gray shirts and longer, scarlet shorts. "Alright, listen up, ladies!" Ms. Willard yelled after roll calling her students. "First we''re going to be doing some stretches. So sit down!" The girls obeyed and Ms. Willard walked towards the radio on the floor. She turned on the radio and a woman''s voice said, "Good day, everyone. Time to stretch your legs. Ready?..." The girls stretched their legs out, placed their hands on their left feet and leaned forward. May was excited to do this while Tifara reluctantly did so. The girls behind Tifara disgustedly looked at her, gossiping behind her back while she was stretching. Even though Tifara was glad that school gyms were gender segregated in secondary school, it didn''t prevent her from experiencing persecution. She hated taking P.E. and considered it one of her worst school subjects in her compulsory years. Her memory images reminded her of the bullying and the harassment she received in Upper Elementary from both some boys and girls alike. She had to take it and complete it for a year, as a credit hour of P.E. was required for her to graduate from secondary school. She won''t even have to worry about taking it ever again. Tifara''s face was saddened when she heard that and immediately sat back up, even when the radio lady wasn''t done counting yet. Oh, Elohim. Please help me! she sadly thought, looking up at the ceiling. May noticed this and moved her head up a little towards Tifara''s attention. "Uh, are you alright, Tifara?" "Yeah, these girls behind me talk shit about me, and I''m having a hard time focusing on my stretches," Tifara answered, turning to May. May quickly turned around and glared at the girls gossiping about Tifara. "Why don''t you guys jus'' knock it off and stop bullyin'' my best friend already?!" Those girls sucked their teeth at May with one of them saying, "Screw off, May! Nobody wants ya!" "Ooooo, that''s it!" May roared, getting ready to pick a fight with two girls. Then Ms. Willard''s whistle echoed across the gym. "That''s enough ladies and keep stretching!" Ms. Willard yelled at May and those girls near Tifara, as the rest of the class was ready to stretch their other legs the same way. Tifara, May and those girls followed suit and Tifara happily looked at May. Recalling May and Dalila stood up for her in Upper Elementary years, Tifara whispered to May, "Thanks, May. I appreciate what you''ve done for me." "You''re welcome," May whispered and smiled back at Tifara. **** After Ms. Willard''s class performed their stretches, Ms. Willard announced, "Alright, ladies. We''re going to do the last stretch and we''ll be running outside on the track. So let''s go!" Stolen novel; please report. Tifara expressed her annoyed look on her face. Great, do we seriously need to run around the track as the final stretch?! Why can''t we jus'' end the stretches already?! Ugh! She thought while most of Ms. Willard''s students exited the gym, crossing her arms, moving her eyes to the right. May didn''t even go with the students and looked at Tifara. "Tifara, are you okay?" Tifara turned to May. "Yeah, I''m fine. I jus'' hate runnin'' more than anything else in this course." She then saddened her face. "I really don''t feel like doin'' this exercise." "Tifara, Meireia!" Ms. Willard yelled before Tifara and May turned to her, pointing at the door. "Outside now!" "Yes, ma''am," Tifara said, uncrossing her arms, walking towards the door. "But Ms. Willard, can you please call me May instead of my real name? I hate being called that," May pleaded. "Oh, is that so?" Ms. Willard curiously asked. "I apologize and I''ll call you by your preferred name next time." "Thank you, Ms. Willard," May exclaimed, turning around, heading for the door. "You''re welcome, May," Ms. Willard said, smiling at May, also heading for the door. Once Tifara and May exited the gym and ran around the track, Ms. Willard''s class ran at a normal pace. Tifara ran at a much slower pace than May which made May run near her. Her embarrassed cheeks were reddened while her eyes twitched a little bit, focusing on the track. They heard the rest of the girls just chatting with one another while they also ran, minding their own business. May looked around before she noticed Tifara''s embarrassed face. "Uh, Tifara? Are you alright? I haven''t even heard any other girls gossip about you yet." "Ugh! Just look at Titsfara''s breasts!" One girl gossiped, disgustingly looking down on Tifara''s breasts with another girl. Glaring at Tifara''s breasts when they jiggle so hard, even when Tifara was wearing a sports bra, Tifara quickly moved up her arms while she ran around the track. Mekurian girls were required to bring their sports bra to P.E. course and wear them for support during their exercises. Yet Tifara''s sport bra doesn''t fit her because her mom couldn''t even afford to buy her a new sports bra. Tifara''s mom gave all her sports bras away to charity that she wore in secondary school when she was younger. Tifara''s aunt gave her sports bras to Tifara. Those bras didn''t even fit Tifara, but that''s all her aunt could ever afford. Man, this sports bra sucks, that for sure, Tifara annoyedly thought Another girl turned to one girl, "I know, right? She''s called Titsfara for a reason, y''know." "Yeah, broh! Tell me about it!" One girl said as she and another girl laughed viciously. May quickly turned her angry to those girls as several girls followed suit, raising her fist up. "Alright, you guys. Y''all better knock it off, or I''m gonna-" Tifara''s eyes broadened when she heard her best friend say that, putting her hand over May''s mouth. She embassingly closed her eyes when turning her head to the crowd. "You know what? Don''t worry about what she said! Jus'' keep runnin'' and we''ll stop this stupid stretch soon enough, okay?" Ms. Willard''s class chuckled at Tifara, while May looked at Tifara and talked as Tifara''s hand covered her mouth. Why, Yeshua Hamashiach! Is May tryin'' to get herself and I an office referral or somethin'', after she hypocritcally accused me of gettin'' into trouble yesterday?! On the second day of school?! Seriously?! Tifara angrily thought, looking May in the eye. Ms. Willard blew her whistle at her class. "Alright, ladies! That''s enough! And keep runnin''!" Then she angrily turned to Tifara. "Tifara, let go of May this instant, or you get an office referral, is that understood?!" Tifara quickly turned to Ms. Willard out of fear. "But, Ms. Willard! I-" Ms. Willard angrily closed her eyes and put her head down. "One¡" "Ms. Willard!" "Two¡" "Ms. Willaaaard-duh!" "Don''t make me get to three, young lady. You know what happens when I get to three, do you?!" Realizing it''s useless to explain her situation to her gym teacher, Tifara sighed and let go of May. "Alright, Ms. Willard. I let go of May." Ms. Willard opened her eyes and grinned at Tifara out of relief. "Good, now jog, you two. Or you''ll be doing some extra work after school." "Yes, ma''am!" Tifara and May fearfully said when they continued running around the track at a much slower pace. While they ran, May angrily turned to Tifara. "Now why the hell did you do that back there?! I was tryin'' to help ya out, y''know!" "I know you are, but-" Tifara roared, glaring back at May. "I was tryin'' to keep ya out of trouble on your second day of school, that''s why! I jus'' can''t risk ya get into fights and I get blamed for it! " "But, Tifara-" May cried. "Remember you, Sam and Dalila warned me to stay out of trouble in the hallway yesterday, when I gave the girl her book back and Calpurnia and her friends? Plus, the Bible tells us in Matthew 7:1-5 not to hypocritically judge others. And here you are tryin'' to do the same thing that you accused me of!" Recalling her agreement with Sam and Dalila about not helpin'' others out of fear of gettin'' into trouble, May guiltily frowned at Tifara. "Yeah, you''re right, Tifara. Please forgive my behavior today." Tifara smiled at May and shook her head. "Mhn! I totally forgive you, May." Once Tifara and May ran around the track in last place, Ms. Willard''s students happily ran inside the gym, curiously wondering what they would do next in P.E. that day. Chapter 11: Seeing David at Lunch As soon as the bell rang, Tifara and her friends headed for the cafeteria. Students'' chatter echoed across the hall, and other students performed their same behaviors as before. Tifara nervously held onto her necklace with her heart beating hard and her eyes twitching a bit. Ugh! I jus'' can''t wait to get the hell out of this school soon, ''cause this is jus'' seriously annoyin'', she annoyedly thought, looking down below her, frowning. While Sam and Dalila paid close attention to their surroundings around Tifara and chatted with one another, May glared at those who were rude to her and patted on Tifara''s shoulder. After hearing Tifara breathe hard, May turned to her best friend. "Hey, Tifara. Are you alright?" "No¡" Tifara responded, turning to May with her continuous frown. "It''s like no matter how many times I tried to ignore those horny boys and rude girls, they keep puttin'' me down." "Keep dependin'' on Elohim. It doesn''t matter how hard things get. He''ll help you through it if you keep tryin''," May said with her determined tone. Tifara grinned at May. "Thanks, May. I''ll keep on goin'' and never give up on it." "Mhn," May said, shaking her head, closing her eyes with a smile. "No, prob." Tifara looked up at the ceiling. Dear Lord, please give me strength to overcome this. In Yeshua''s name, Amen, she thought as she returned to her destination. Once Tifara and her friends made it to the cafeteria, they walked their way towards the line to get their lunch. Tifara''s eyes searched for David, disregarding his pleas. When the students minded their own businesses, the administrators watched over the crowd. David was nowhere to be found. Calpurnia and her friends walked up towards Tifara with their trays, viciously looking at her. "Oh, here goes this sexual harassment girl again," Calpurnia said, placing her foot against Tifara''s. "Ah!" While Tifara was about to fall against Dalila''s back, May''s arm prevented her from falling. Tifara turned to May, grinning at her, while the couple stopped moving and quickly turned to Tifara. "Thank Elohim, you saved me." "No, prob," May said, closing her eyes with a grin, tilting her head a little sideways. Then Sam and Dalila turned to Calpurnia and her friends, glaring at them. "Hey, y''all better knock it off!" Sam roared. "''Cause Elohim will punish you if y''all keep doin'' y''all''s wicked ways." "Yea!" Dalila agreed, shaking her head. "Oh, yea, sure!" Calpurnia smugly said as she and her friends viciously chuckled. Sam growled at her, clenching his fist, getting ready to go after her. Dalila noticed this and prevented him from doing so. "Sam, babe. Don''t do this. It''s not worth it." "Yea, Dalila''s right. Plus, the administrators are watchin''. You don''t wanna get in trouble on your second day of school, don''t ya?" May asked. "But-" Sam said until Tifara placed her hand onto his shoulder. "It''s alright, Sam. I appreciate what you''ve done for me. You don''t need to get in trouble jus'' for my sake, okay?" Tifara reassured. Once Sam calmed down, he said, "Thank Elohim you guys saved me from gettin'' in trouble." "No, prob, Sam," The girls said to him. "And I thank Elohim you guys protected me," Tifara said. "No, prob, Tifara," her friends stated. "Now let''s go get some lunch," Tifara said. "Uh-huh!" Her friends exclaimed as they returned to their destination. If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation. Once they got their food and searched for their seats, Tifara looked around to see if David was around yet. She finally spotted him sitting at the same exact spot as yesterday. The crowd around him either moved past him or sat far away from him. Tifara saw an empty spot at the table near the stairway near the end of the hallway. Alright, Tifara. I better convince my friends to sit over there. I need to find out where David''s off to, she determinedly thought as she turned to her friends. "Okay, guys. I found an empty spot where we can eat," Tifara said, pointing her finger at the table that she saw. When her friends saw it, they agreed and headed their way over to that table. Yes! I can''t wait to see where David goes as soon as he gets done eating! She thought when she and her friends sat down at their table, eating their meals, drinking their milks. She took a look around for a while and chatted with her friends until she saw David heading in her direction. Tifara ignored David and sipped her milk. David studied his surroundings for a while. But the moment he saw Tifara eating and chatting with her friends, he immediately glared at her before he walked up to the administrator behind her. Tifara looked at David one last time, noticing his library pass on his hand. Whoa! Now I''m wondering why David''s goin'' to the library for during lunchtime. I''ll have to find out ''bout it tomorrow, she curiously thought as she continuously watched David show the administrator his pass and went downstairs. Tifara''s friends noticed Tifara watching David out of curiosity. May tapped into Tifara''s shoulder a couple times and Tifara turned to May. "Uh, Tifara. Why are you watchin'' the boy back there?" "Yea," Sam and Dalila agreed. "Well¡" Tifara looked at David''s direction and her friends back and forth. "Do you guys remember David, my homeroom classmate?" "Yea, and?" Dalila responded. "That boy I watched earlier was David," Tifara responded. "I noticed he doesn''t have any friends whenever I see him, and I wonder why he goes to the library and what he''s doin'' there." "I see¡" Sam said, placing his hand on his chin, rubbing his fingers on it. "Maybe we''ll investigate with you tomorrow." Tifara widened her surprised eyes when looking at Sam. "Huh?! You really mean that?!" "Yep, I really mean it," Sam responded. Oh, okay, Tifara. This is great! My questions will probably be answered tomorrow! How exciting is that, Tifara! Hmm?! She excitedly thought. "Okay, great!" Tifara exclaimed. "But how are we supposed to get the library passes for all of us though?" "We''ll request them from the front office either after school or tomorrow morning," May answered. Tifara shook her head. "Great!" She finished chewing on her food and drinking her milk. "I hope we get those passes soon." "We will," Sam stated. "You bet on that." May and Dalila shook their heads. "Mhn!" While Tifara''s friends also finished eating their meals and drinking their milks, Tifara excitedly thought, Oh, man. Oh, man. Oh, man. I can''t wait for lunchtime tomorrow! I can''t wait to see what David''s up to in the library. Ooooo! After Tifara and her friends got done eating and drinking, they put their trays up and remained seated in their spots until the bell rang. Not even Calpurnia and her friends didn''t even bother them as much. **** Once Tifara and David arrived back to Mrs. Kane''s class, they still leaned their heads on their desks and stared at their walls. Their classmates still chatted with one another across the room. Mrs. Kane was surfing through the web, typing on the computer. Other Secondary school Sophomores outside Mrs. Kane''s classroom chatted and walked in the hall. Then the bell rung, and Mrs. Kane turned to her students. "Alright, class. Listen up!" Mrs. Kane demanded. "I''m going to take a roll call, so I really need you guys to be quiet for once." After her students were quiet and Mrs. Kane roll called all her students, she stood up from her desk and said to her class, "Today we''re going to do our first two-page daily journals about our school day, so take out your journals and get to writing, please." The students obeyed and began writing about their school day. Tifara followed suit and David last. When Tifara and David finished their writing, they put their journals up and leaned their heads on the table again. Then Tifara looked David in the eye while David stared at the wall. No train of thought came to mind for Tifara, nor images resurfaced in her heart. Tifara moved her eyes sideways as they twitched a bit. She sighed for a bit. How can I get David to be my friend? she thought. I don''t want him to be all alone forever, y''know. Mrs. Kane noticed Tifara staring at David, glaring at her. "Uh, Tifara. Don''t stare. It''s not polite to do that, you know," Mrs. Kane roared. David and Mrs. Kane''s class turned to Tifara while Tifara turned to her homeroom teacher. David growled and glared at her even more than ever before. "But Mrs. Kane! I-" Tifara cried, widening her shocked eyes. "Now do as I say or you get an office referral, is that understood?!" "Yes, ma''am¡" Tifara said with her shadow covering her eyes and forehead. "Good. I''m glad to hear that," Mrs. Kane said out of relaxation. David quickly returned his attention to the wall, and the rest of Mrs. Kane''s classroom laughed at Tifara. Tifara frowned when she stared at a wall as well. Oh, man. I can''t believe I''m not even allowed to even look at David, she thought with her annoyed face. That''s jus'' pathetic, like for real. She leaned her head back down for the remaining of class until the final bell rung. Chapter 12: Entering the Bookstore When school day ended and Tifara helped Dalila recover from her heart attack, she closed the door to May''s house. She surveyed her surroundings and sighed with a smile on her face. Alright, Tifara. Time to meet up with Saul, she thought as she exited the front yard. She turned left and dashed her way towards the end of the sidewalk. Once she got there, she grinned and waved at Saul. "Hi, there, Saul!" Saul waved back and rushed towards the end of the sidewalk, looking both ways before crossing the street. "Hi, Tifara!" Then he strolled towards the entrance of May''s neighborhood. "How are you doin'' this evening?" "I''m doin'' fine. How are you?" Tifara said, smiling at Saul. "I''m doin'' fine as well," Saul responded. "How was your second day of school?" "It was the same as yesterday, I guess¡" Tifara answered, putting her head down with a frown. "Oh, I''m sorry to hear that," Saul gave Tifara his frown. "It''s alright, Saul," Tifara said, closing her eyes, waving her hand downwards at Saul, reddening her cheeks. "So anyway, how ''bout you? Did you have a good second day of school?" "Well, I sure did!" Saul exclaimed, also closing his eyes. "Bein'' ''round people as Secondary School President is so much fun, y''know." "Yea, I bet so," Tifara answered as she and Saul continued to walk throughout the neighborhood, chatting with one another. Oh, man! This is amazing! I''m havin'' a good time with Saul right now! she happily thought. **** Once Tifara and Saul entered the city, they still chatted with one another for a while. With a lot of Mom and Pop''s stores bustling around them, Tifara then scanned her surroundings as soon as Saul stopped talking to her. Okay, Tifara. Time to find the store where David goes to, she cautiously thought, I jus'' need to make sure my parents aren''t around or I won''t be able to go to the new park with May and Dalila next weekend. Saul noticed Tifara scanning her surroundings, raising his eyebrow at her. "Uh, Tifara. Are you okay? Is there something wrong?" "Huh?" Tifara asked, quickly turning to Saul. "Oh, no-no-no! Not at all. I''m jus'' lookin'' for that store that interested us last evenin'', remember?" Saul grinned with his mouth open after he recalled what Tifara just said yesterday. "Ah, of course I do, Tifara. Let''s go find that store together! Jus'' you and me!" "Mhn," Tifara said as she happily shook her head and searched for the store that she and Saul were looking for. They searched everywhere they went until Tifara found what they were looking for. She pointed her finger at it, turning to Saul and the store back and forth. "There it is!" Saul looked at what Tifara was pointing at. "Ah, there it is!" He then turned back at her. "Let''s go check it out." "Right!" Tifara said, shaking her head. While Tifara and Saul looked both ways, Tifara took a look around in front of and behind her one last time before she crossed the street with Saul. She didn''t see any sign of her parents nor David anywhere. Whew! Thank Elohim, my parents aren''t around. Now I jus'' need to cross the street to get inside that store before David arrives, she thought with her determined look on her face. "Alright, are ya ready, Tifara?" Saul asked, turning his attention back to Tifara. Tifara turned to Saul. "Sure, I''m ready when you are." "Okay, here goes nothing!" Saul said while he and Tifara looked both ways. They ran across the street and entered the store. Alright, we made it jus'' in time before David shows up, Tifara thought as she and Saul looked around the store. This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings. There they saw a lot of books shelved on both sides of an aisle. People were either standing around to look or read books, or seating at the cafe center far away from the store entrance. A couple green beanie bags sat on the floor, with three individuals reading books on them. A bald man at a counter, who had brown skin, white hair on his head and mustache, and a green uniform shirt with his name tag that stated "Asad," stood there and smiled at Tifara and Saul. The man at the counter waved at them. "Hello, there. Welcome to Mulberry''s." "Hi, there," Tifara and Saul said, waving back at the man at the counter. "Whoa, this place is pretty cozy for a Mom and Pop''s store. I''m impressed already," Saul loudly exclaimed, scanning the store with his excited mouth opened. "Yea, you''re right," Tifara agreed, continuously scanning the room. Alright, looks like David will be in here any minute now, she thought with a serious face. Better find a place to hide with Saul before he finds us. Once she noticed one of the book shelves facing sideways behind the one on the wall, she tapped on Saul''s shoulder. "Hey." "Huh?" Saul asked as he turned to Tifara. "Hey, what''s up, Tifara?" "Let''s go to that book shelf over there," Tifara suggested, pointing her finger at the shelf she was interested in. "I wanna check it out to see what kinds of books it has." After Saul stared at that shelf for a few seconds, he returned his attention to her. "Are you sure that''s what you wanna do?" "I''m positive," Tifara responded, shaking her head. "Alright then, whatever you say," Saul said as he and Tifara walked towards the shelf. Tifara and Saul took a look around. Saul''s eyes were wide open when he examined the books, pulling a particular red-covered book out of the shelf and closely studied it. "Ah! This place is great!" Saul happily whispered. "It''s so great that it even has a book I''m looking for." "Really?" Tifara questioned, turning to Saul with a smile. "That''s awesome, Saul." Tifara returned her attention to books and peeked from the corridor back and forth, seeing David not present yet. Then Saul raised his eyebrow when he turned to Tifara. "Uh, Tifara. Are you alright? You''ve been acting pretty strange lately," Saul whispered. "Oh, yea. I''m fine, Saul. Honest," Tifara responded in a whisper, closing her embarrassed eyes, grinning. Saul nearly closed his eyes. "Are you really sure? You''re not lyin'' to me, are ya?" "Oh, no-no-no! Not at all!" Tifara said, waving her hands sideways, closing her eyes. "I''m positive, I''m not lyin'' to you. Honest." Saul opened his eyes back up. "Okay, well. I''m gonna purchase this book." "Alright then. I''ll wait for ya here," Tifara whispered after Saul excitedly gazed at the book one last time before he walked towards the counter. Watching Saul make a purchase, the store bell vibrated the store after the door was opened. Tifara turned left and widened her eyes. There she saw David enter the store and the door closed itself behind him. Looks like David''s here, she thought with her eyes twitched. I wonder what he''s doin'' here at a place like this when it''s almost dark out. Shouldn''t he be at home afterschool instead? The man at the counter smiled and waved at David, after he accepted payment from Saul and placed the book in the clear, light brownish plastic bag. "David! Welcome back!" David grinned and waved back at the man at the counter. He walked up to the man at the counter while Saul returned to Tifara. "Hi ya there, Uncle Asad!" Tifara quietly gasped when Saul stopped moving halfway, turning around. No freakin'' way! She thought, That man is David''s uncle?! No wonder why David''s came here this late! "So how was your second day of school?" Uncle Asad asked. "I did well today," David answered. "Did you have a good day today?" "Why, yes, I have. And you?" "I did as well." "Oh, that''s good then, Uncle Shaz." Saul walked up to David. "Excuse me." David turned to look up at Saul. "David, right?" David gasped and grinned at Saul, placing his hands together. "Saul! It''s good to see ya again! How are ya?! I missed ya so much!" "I''m doin'' fine and you?" Saul responded. No freakin'' way! Saul knows David?! Tifara thought while she watched David and Saul chatted with one another. I didn''t expect that to happen. I thought as soon as I found a reason why David came here this late. Now by the looks of it, I need to get outta here and go home. I can''t risk havin'' my parents find out that I went somewhere outside of my restricted locations during my punishment, nor David finding me here. Looks like I''ll have to go home without Saul. "So what brings you here?" David asked while Tifara looked both ways before she snuck out of the store. "I jus'' came here to look ''round, bought a book that I desire¡" Saul raised the bag with his eyes closed. "And I bought a girl with me." "Oooo," David''s cheeks blushed. "And where is she? I would like to meet her." "Oh, sure. She''s jus'' over there. See?" Saul turned around and pointed his finger at the shelf until the bell rung from the doorway. David and Saul turned around to the door and saw Tifara left, heading in the left direction. Tifara looked down below her for a while before she lifted her head up to scan her surroundings. Several people walked past her in both directions. She sighed out of relief after looking back behind her for a few seconds. Phew! That was close one! I hope Saul doesn''t find me! As soon as Saul exited the store, he called her name and chased after her. She frowned all the sudden. Oh, no! She sadly thought, Saul found me! Jus'' great... Chapter 13: A Rocky Evening Running after Tifara, Saul called out her name. But Tifara ignored Saul and kept moving. Jus'' keep movin'', Tifara, she thought. Jus'' keep movin'' and don''t look back. I gotta get home before my parents become suspicious of me and get angry with me. Once Saul successfully grabbed Tifara''s arm, she annoyedly turned around and looked up at him. "What?!" "Why did went off on your own out here?! It''s too dangerous for a girl like you to wander off alone especially at night, y''know. Plus, you didn''t even say good-bye to me," Saul snapped, turning to the bookstore and Tifara back and forth. "I didn''t want David to find me, that''s why," Tifara snapped back before she frowned and looked down below her, slightly tilting her head to the right. "You see¡David and I are Homeroom classmates and we sat next to each other;we jus'' don''t get along at all." Then she returned her attention to Saul. "Didn''t Sam ever tell ya that? ''Cause I told him and my friends ''bout that." Saul frowned and moved his eyes sideways, before he returned his attention to the bookstore, moving his eyes sideways as well. He gazed at it for a brief moment. "No¡I''m afraid Sam didn''t¡" Tifara turned her eyes to the left with her annoyed face. Dammit, Sam. Why didn''t you tell Saul ''bout David and I don''t get along with one another, yet you have the gall to tell him ''bout me, May and Dalila?! Then Saul turned back to Tifara. "But I''m sorry you suffered from David." Tifara sadly grinned at and returned her attention to Saul. "Oh, it''s alright, Saul. Now did David notice me when I left that store?" Saul turned around to study his surroundings behind him for a while one last time. "No¡I don''t think so..." Then he returned his attention back to Tifara. "Good," Tifara said, grinning at Saul. "And I''m sorry for my actions and reaction earlier. Will you forgive me?" "Yea, I forgive ya," Saul said, smiling at her. "Let''s go take you home." "Mhn," Tifara said, shaking her head as she walked home with Saul. Once they made it to Tifara''s apartment complex, they turned to one another, grinning. "Well, it''s time for me to head inside. See ya tomorrow," Tifara said as she was getting ready to walk upstairs, waving at Saul. "Ah! Wait!" Saul grabbed Tifara''s wrist. "Huh?" Tifara turned around. "Yes, Saul?" Saul put his head down. "So immediately after church on Saturday morning, will you do the utmost honor of¡" He lifted his head up. "Goin'' out to dinner with me?" Tifara widened her eyes for a moment. Aaaah! She thought with her cheeks reddened when she looked up at the darkened sky, placing her hand on her cheek. Aaaawwweee, did you hear that, Tifara?! Saul''s takin'' me out on a date! Ohhhh! That''s so excitin''! She then smirked, moving her eyes left with her hand placed on her chin. Take that Calpurnia, May! "Uh, Tifara? Are you okay?" Saul raised his eyebrow at her. "Oh, I''m sorry!" Tifara returned her attention to Saul, closing her eyes, scratching the back of her head. She then opened her eyes and smiled at Saul. "I meant to say, ''Yes.'' I would like to go out to dinner with you, Saul." "Ah!" Saul widened his eyes and opened his mouth for a moment before he just grinned back at Tifara. "Great. See ya there." "Oh, bye, Saul! See ya tomorrow!" Tifara waved at Saul as he let go of her hand. "Bye, Tifara! You too!" Saul waved back at her before he walked away from her and left her apartment complex. Tifara sighed out of her love for Saul. Oh, Saul¡she thought, placing her hands on her blushed cheeks, twisting her body sideways. I love ya as always, my future husband. Tonight''s certainly better than last night. She sighed again before she headed upstairs. Enjoying this book? Seek out the original to ensure the author gets credit. Opening the door, Tifara entered her apartment. "I''m home." "Welcome home, Tifara," her parents and sister said while Todo barked and dashed towards her. "How was school?" Her mother asked, watching Tifara close the door and switch her school shoes with house shoes. "Did you turn in your office referral?" "Yes, ma''am. I sure did," Tifara responded while rubbing on Todo''s head. "And my second day of school was slightly better than yesterday, that''s for sure." "Oh, that''s good," her mother said. "That''s good," her father said. "Did you get in trouble today?" "Nope, I didn''t," Tifara answered with her eyes closed and a smile, shaking her head sideways. "Well, good! I''m glad you didn''t!" Her mother said, also closing her eyes, grinning at her daughter, bobbing her head. "Now, you know tomorrow''s third day of school. You know what that means, don''t you?" Tifara then opened her eyes and frowned, tilting her head to the left. "Yes¡" "And that is?" Her mother asked. "I''ll be havin'' homework tomorrow?" Tifara asked back, returning her attention to her mother. "That''s riiiight," her father sang. "So I expect you and Yulogia to bring your homework here and do it, understand?" "Yes, sir," Tifara said. "Good," Her father said, standing up from his chair at the dining table, leaning forward towards his wife''s cheek. "Now I''m gonna go check the noodles in the pot." "Okay, babe," his wife said as her husband kissed her on the cheek. Tifara curiously turned to her mother. "So what are we having for dinner tonight?" "We''re havin'' Chicken Alfredo tonight," her mother answered. "Mmmm! My favorite," Tifara said, closing her eyes and grinned. After her father went to the kitchen, Yulogia walked over to Tifara while Tifara was rubbing on Todo''s belly. She sat on the floor and also rubbed on Todo''s belly. "So what did you do today?" Tifara looked up at the ceiling. "Well¡let''s see¡I did introduction and free sports at P.E., jus'' introduction in my Akkadian class, and did jus'' introduction in my Social Studies class. Then helped Dalila with her healing, and that''s jus'' ''bout it." She returned her attention to Yulogia. "Now what ''bout you? What did you do today?" "I jus'' did introductions to the subjects and P.E., and that''s pretty much it," Yulogia asked, twisting her red-brownish hair with her index finger. "So did you have a good day at school today? Or is it the same as yesterday?" Tifara asked. Yulogia looked down below her and frowned. "It''s unfortunately the same as yesterday." Then she sighed. Tifara began to feel bad for her little sister. "Oh, I''m sorry to hear that, Yulogia. I''m sure it''ll get better in the end someday." Then Yulogia stopped rubbing on Todo''s belly and clenched her fists, expressing her angry face. "Why do you even ask that?! It''s not goin'' to get better, Tifara. And you know it." She turned to Tifara. "Life hasn''t even got better for you since Upper Elementary, so what makes you think mine''s will?! Why did Elohim allow both of us to suffer?! Don''t you see that He doesn''t even care about us?!" "He does care about us and we will win in the end, if we place our trust in Him, even with only prayer and Bible study," Tifara answered, only paying attention to Todo. "We will make a difference, Yulogia." Yulogia glared down at her older sister, standing up from the floor as she tightened her fists, growling at Tifara like she was some sort of a wild animal. "You still don''t get it, do you?! We already tried prayer and Bible study and it hasn''t worked for us! Why don''t you admit that it doesn''t work for you?!" "Because I have patience with Elohim, even if I doubted Him at first," Tifara answered calmly. "That''s how I''ll win in the long run, and you should too. There is no doubt that you''ll lose in the long term. You jus'' gotta be patient in His timing, that''s all." Yulogia growled at Tifara more, stomping on the floor. "Yulogia!" Tifara''s mother roared, glaring at her youngest daughter. "You know, what?! Forget it! I''m goin'' to my room!" Yulogia yelled, storming towards her room. "Ah!" Tifara cried, putting her hand out forward. "Yulogia!" Tifara''s mother roared before Yulogia slammed the door. She growled as she stood up from the chair at the dinner table, turning to her husband in the kitchen. "Babe, I''ll be right back. I''ll deal with Yulogia right this minute." "Alright, babe. I got ya!" Her husband''s voice echoed from the kitchen while Tifara''s mother stormed her way for Yulogia''s room, yelling at Yulogia the moment she entered her daughter''s room. Tifara looked up at the sky and raised her palm up. "Dear Lord, please help my sister have faith in You again, at least someday. Please deliver us from people''s judgements based on our physical appearances, because we know You''re with us through and through. In Yeshua''s name, Amen." Tifara''s father peeked from the corner, looking at Tifara. "Alright, Tifara. Dinner''s ready." "Okay, dad. I''m comin''!" Tifara said, standing up from the floor and dashed towards the kitchen. Once she and her dad sat at the dinner table, they ate their food and waited for Yulogia and Tifara''s mother to put out their anger towards one another and eat their dinner at the dinner table as well. Chapter 14: Third Day of School As the third day of school had officially arrived and the bell rang, Tifara and her friends entered the school campus for the cafeteria. With Sam and Dalila chatting with one another and focusing on their surroundings in regards to Tifara''s safety, May patted Tifara''s shoulder as boys lusted after her and the girls glared at and gossiped behind Tifara''s back. Tifara closed her eyes and put her head down while she tightened her grip. Oh, Elohim. Please help me! Please give me strength to overcome my persecution. In Yeshua''s name, Amen, Tifara thought, returning her focus to her destination. Then Dalila turned to Tifara and her destination back and forth. "Hey, are you alright, Tifara?" Tifara moved her eyes right with a frown while Sam did the same to her as his girlfriend did, and May just turned to her best friend. "Yea¡I''m tryin'' to ignore the rude people who''re tryin'' to put me down. I''m dependin'' on Elohim to get through my day." The couple smiled at Tifara. "Well, that''s good, Tifara." "Yea!" May agreed, closing her eyes, shaking her head, smiling at Tifara. While Tifara''s friends remained focused on their surroundings, Tifara took a look around and saw David standing there in the hallway, listening to music with his earphones in his ears, leaning against the wall. She then ignored him and refocused on her destination. Juuuus'' ignore David, Tifara. Jus'' ignore him. Let''s jus'' pretend he doesn''t exist, Tifara thought, forcing a smile on herself, moving her eyes sideways. David scanned his surroundings until he saw Tifara walking down the hall for the cafeteria. He growled and glared at her with his mouth open, sucking his teeth at her. As soon as Tifara and her friends made it to the cafeteria, they all studied their surroundings. Tifara and May saw Saul eating breakfast and chatting with Calpurnia at that same table as before. They both sighed deeply, frowning at them. Awwwwe, I wish I was in Saul''s neighborhood, ''Cause I would like to eat breakfast with my Saul all morning long, y''know, Tifara thought as her own voice sang in her heart. Then she moved her eyes right with her annoyed face at May though. But that''s too bad I won''t be able to eat near Saul this morning and beyond, thanks to May over here. She smiled when looking up at the ceiling. But at least I get to go out with Saul after his church ended though¡.So¡that''s pretty neat. At least I got that. "Yo, Tifara!" Sam''s voice echoed in front of her. Tifara turned to May after she didn''t answer his call and May shook her arm. "Huh?" "Sam''s callin'' ya," May answered. "Oh." Tifara turned to Sam. "Yea? What''s up?" "Are ya ready to eat or what?" Sam questioned. Tifara shook her head, closing her eyes with a grin. "Yep, I sure am! Let''s go! I''m starvin''!" After her friends grinned at her, she and her friends walked in line to get some breakfast and ate there. **** After Tifara entered Mrs. Kaine''s classroom and she and her friends waved their good-byes at one another, she walked towards her assigned seat. David growled at and glared at Tifara, watching her sit down in her seat. Tifara noticed him staring at her, glaring back at David with her head lying on her palm. If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement. "Well, why are ya starin'' at me all the sudden?!" She asked. "I thought ya don''t wanna look at me all the sudden." David growled and glared at Tifara even more. "Hey, don''t get any stupid ideas, sexual harassment girl!" Tifara looked down below with her shadow covering her forehead and eyes, growling at David. This boy has a lot of nerve to call me sexual harassment girl right now! She angrily thought. "Anyway," David continued, "I jus'' wanna ask ya somthin''." "Well, what do ya wanna ask?" "Why the hell were you at my shop with Saul last night?" Tifara widened her eyes with her hand covering her opened mouth. "Uh?!" No way! Did David jus'' ask me about my presence at his store last night?! Tifara thought, remembering Saul telling her that he didn''t think David saw her last night. Saul told me he thought for sure that David didn''t see me last night. Maybe Saul didn''t notice that afterall. Tifara''s voice sighed in her heart. "Well? Are ya gonna answer my question or what?" David impatiently asked, glaring at Tifara. "Saul and I were¡interested in your bookstore and what it has to offer, so¡" Tifara put her fingers together and looked down at them. "So we visited it and Saul finally got a book that he wanted. So that''s that, I guess¡and besides¡" Tifara then turned to David. "I was wonderin'' why you went into that store last night, which was really strange for you to be out this late." "Huh¡I see¡Well, do me a favor," David snapped in an annoyed tone. "Don''t come back into my store ever again, got it?!" Tifara gave David her annoyed face back, before turning her head to the wall near her, crossing her arms with her eyes closed. "Well, ya don''t have to tell me twice. ''Cause I don''t wanna go back to that store anyways. So hmph¡" "Well, good then!" David said, also turning his head to the wall far away from him, crossing his arms with his eyes closed. Then the final bell rang echoed throughout the entire school, getting ready to start the first Homeroom period class. **** After the first period and Tifara and her friends ate lunch, Sam asked his friends while leaning forward, "Are y''all ready to go to the library or what?" He pulled out the four Library Hall passes from his pocket and displayed them to his friends. "I already got y''all these." "Ooooh," Tifara, May and Dalila said, grabbing their individual Library Hall pass from Sam''s hand. "Count us in." "Good!" Sam said, getting up from his seat. "Let''s go." Once his friends also stood up from their seats, they put their trash in the trash can and placed their trays on the tray holder. They walked their way towards the administrator, studying their surroundings. A certain number of fifth and sixth year students were still behaving the same way as the sixth years did earlier. Tifara tightened her grip on her necklace while she stood up still with her determined face, moving her eyes sideways. C''mon, Tifara. Get it together now, she thought. Elohim and His Son will give me spiritual strength to overcome this. Then Calpurnia and her friends viciously grinned at Tifara while eating their lunch. Tifara moved to the other side near May, before she and her friends walked past Calpurnia and her friends. May confusedly turned to Tifara. "I don''t wanna be tripped over again by Calpurnia," Tifara replied out of fear. "Ah, I see." May blinked her eyes and shook her head with a smile. "Good thinkin'', Tifara." "Awwwe, would ya look at that sexual harassment girl Titsfara over there, so scared all the sudden," Calpurnia said, tilting her head sideways, making that baby face. "She''s such a whore. Am I right, girls?" "Course, you are, girl," Jecolia agreed. "Yea!" Abby also agreed. Then the crowd around Calpurnia and her friends laughed at Tifara, especially the girls. Tifara closed her eyes and put her head down, tightening her grip on her necklace even more than ever before. Dear Elohim, please help me, she thought. May patted her shoulder and turned to Tifara with her sad face. "Don''t let them get to you. Keep dependin'' on the Elohim. He''ll help you through it. Trust Him." Tifara turned to May with a smile. "Thanks, May. I truly appreciate what you''ve done for me." May shook her head with her eyes closed, grinning back at Tifara. "No, prob." Dalila turned to Calpurnia and her friends and glared at them. "Shut up, you guys!" "Yea!" Sam agreed, also glaring at Calpurnia and her friends. Calpurnia glared at and growled at the couple. "You guys shut up!" "Yea!" Abby and Jecolia agreed, closing their eyes, leaning forward. "No!" The couple yelled back while walking past them. Calpurnia growled at the couple even more, gritting her teeth. "Oh, I''m gonna get those two as soon as I get done with Titsfara! Oooooh!" "Oh, don''t worry girlfriend," Abby said, rubbing on Calpurnia''s shoulder with a frown on her face. "Yea!" Jecolia agreed, performing the same actions as Abby was doing. Her friends comforted her while the crowd chatted louder amongst themselves. Tifara looked around the cafeteria and spotted David sitting and eating his lunch by himself. Poor David, she thought as she frowned at him, he''s so lonely. I wonder what he does in the library though. What kind of books does he read? Or does he read any at all? Well, that''s where we''re gonna find out today. When Tifara and her friends gave the administrator their Library Hall passes, he let them go downstairs and they walked right past them. They were happy to return to the library after a very long time. They missed being there, reading books together and checking them out as well. It was another happy time for them to get together again. Chapter 15: David in the Library As Tifara and her friends entered the library, they looked around and saw students either wandering in the library or reading their books. The students whispered with one another. The librarian sat at her desk, surfing through the web. Tifara gasped quietly as she moved her eyes sideways. Wow, this place is still as good as last year''s. It''s amazing, she thought with her mouth open. Then some students behaved the same way as those in the cafeteria did except in whisper. Tifara frowned and held onto her necklace tightly. She put her head down. Oh, man. Not this shit again, she sadly thought. Ugh! When will this shit end?! How much longer will it have to take for my sufferin'' to end?! Tifara''s friends growled at their enemies, and May tapped on Tifara''s shoulder and looked Tifara in the eye. She leaned forward a little. "Jus'' ignore them and depend on Elohim for strength. Strengthen your faith," May whispered. "You can do this and you will win. Elohim will help you through this. Trust in Him." "Yea!" Sam and Dalila also whispered, giving her their reassuring smile. Tifara smiled back at her friends. "Thanks, you guys," she whispered, "I really appreciate what you''ve done for me." "Don''t thank us," her friends whispered, "Thank Elohim. He did this for you." "Yea, I guess you''re right," Tifara whispered, "I''ll thank Him for this." "Now that''s the spirit, Tifara," Sam whispered with a smile. She looked up at the ceiling and smiled. Thank You, Elohim, for bein'' there for me through my friends. Please continue Your work through and through. In Yeshua''s name, Amen, she thought. As soon as she returned her attention to her friends, Dalila whispered, "So which book section do you wanna go to?" "Well..." Tifara whispered, looking up at the ceiling with her finger on her chin. "I s''ppose we''ll go to the Fiction section." "Okay, we''ll go there together," May whispered. "Yea!" Sam and Dalila agreed as they, May and Tifara headed their way towards the Fiction section. While some students kept misbehaving towards Tifara, Tifara maintained her determined look on her face. Keep on goin'', Tifara, she thought, Jus'' keep on goin''. Elohim''s on your side after all. Once Tifara and her friends made it to the library, they scanned the books around them. They individually pulled out books that interested them except Tifara. She just stood there and looked around through the shelves, searching for David. She realized that David wasn''t around yet. Hmmm...looks like David''s not around yet, huh? She thought, Well, I guess I''m gonna keep lookin'' at these books. They looked through books more and more often until Tifara finally spotted David in the library entrance far away from her. David scanned his surroundings while people walked past him. Okay, great. He''s here. I wonder what he''s up to now, Tifara thought as David was about to turn his attention to her. Luckily, she kneeled down just in time before David spotted her. Unauthorized duplication: this narrative has been taken without consent. Report sightings. After a while she stood back up to see if David was still looking around. She instead saw him talking to the librarian, sighing silently and out of relief. Phew! That was a close one, wasn''t it? She thought. Alright, time to inform my friends of David bein'' here. She then turned to her friends. "Hey, you guys," she whispered while watching her friends skim through the books in their hands. Tifara''s friends just ignored her and kept skimming. "Pssst, you guys," Tifara whispered again, trying to get them to answer her call. After they still didn''t listen to her for the second time, Tifara gave her friends an annoyed look on her face. She quietly growled and gazed at them for a while, before she walked up towards them, tapping on their shoulders. "Psst, guys!" Tifara whispered, tapping on their shoulders. "Oh, huh?" Her friends responded, turning their attention to Tifara. "I saw David in the library right now. Come look," Tifara whispered, dragging her friends near one of the book shelves. When Tifara and her friends looked through the shelves however, they couldn''t find David anywhere. Tifara widened her eyes as she couldn''t believe it. No freakin'' way! I literally saw David here and he''s nowhere to be seen now all the sudden?! Like seriously?! She confusedly thought. She wasn''t the only one confused. Her friends were just as confused as she was. "Um, what are you talkin'' ''bout, Tifara? I don''t see David," May doubted her best friend. "Yea, me neither," Sam and Dalila agreed as the couple and May turned to Tifara, raising their eyebrows at her. "Well, I did saw him enterin'' in the library and talkin'' to the librarian earlier. I really did, you guys," Tifara cried, frowning at her friends all the sudden. Sam became skeptical with Tifara. "Are ya sure ''bout that?" Tifara quietly growled at Sam with her head down and her hands clenched. "Yes, I''m certain he was right there. Now I don''t know where he is. I know he''s here somewhere. I saw him here." "Well, let us know if you see him," Dalila said as she, her boyfriend and May returned to skimming through the books that interested them. Tifara sighed and frowned at her friends. Oh, great, Tifara thought. I can''t believe my friends missed seein'' David. Now all I need to do is to find David and see what he does in the library all by himself. She searched for David everywhere, but she still couldn''t find him. Where are you, David? Tifara thought, I know you''re here somewhere, broh. Her eyes skimmed everywhere and still couldn''t find him until she caught him standing at a corner in the Reading Area. The Reading Area consists of a couple of red modern looking chairs and smaller bookshelves. Two fifth year girls reading the books near each other, whispering to one another. Oh, there you are, Tifara thought with a smile. I got ya! But I wonder why David''s standin'' there though? She quickly turned to her friends, tapping on their shoulders, and whispered, "Guys, guys!" "Huh?" They responded to Tifara''s call, turning to Tifara. "Oh, what''s up, Tifara?" "I finally found David!" Tifara whispered, turning her head towards David, pointing her finger at him. "Look!" Her friends turned to David and they were finally able to see him. They raised their eyebrows at David like he''s some sort of a weirdo. "Uh, why is David standin'' there at the corner?" Dalila whispered. "Yea," May also whispered. "That''s jus''...so weird though..." "Beats me," Sam whispered. "But I''m gonna find out." He turned to his friends. "You guys stay here"-he turned to only May and Dalila-"while you two protect Tifara while I''m away from y''all, got it?" "Got it," all the girls agreed with Sam in a whisper. "Good," Sam whispered, turning back to David. "I''ll be right back." As Sam slowly walked towards David, his sweat poured down on his face a little bit. The girls stood there and watched Sam leaning over David''s shoulder and stood there watching for a while. "Um, is David usually like this every day in the library?" May curiously whispered. "Uh, probably," Dalila whispered back, moving her eyes right to May. "Oh, I felt bad for him if he does this constantly though," May whispered. Yea...Tifara thought in agreement. I really think we ought to help David...She moved her eyes left with her arms crossed. Even if me and David don''t get along very well, which is frustrating for me. But how do we do that is a total mystery. Sam quickly and quietly returned to his friends. "Well?" Dalila asked in a whisper. "Did you found out why David was like this?" "Yea..." Sam answered in a whisper. "But I could see why now..." "Well, what is it then?" May questioned in a whisper, glaring at Sam with her arms crossed. "Spill it out then. We don''t got all day, y''know." "Hey, now be patient, May! Damn!" Sam whispered, glaring at May back. "Anyway, the reason David stood there by the corner in the Reading Area is..." "Is what?" Tifara asked in a whisper. "Well, don''t jus'' stand there. Say somethin''." "David reads lewd comics ''bout some sexy spy agents," Sam responded in a whisper. The girls widened their eyes for a few seconds. No way! Tifara thought. Is that, like, for real?! "You can''t be serious," Dalila asked in a whisper. "Like is that for real?" "Yes..." Sam responded in a whisper. Mekurian Secondary schools banned any form of comic books, especially if they''re problematic. They want people to continue reading books with mostly words, not from dialogue or side effects. That was where Light novels were the exception, due to being mostly worded books despite being related to comic books. Anyone caught with a comic book will receive an office referral. "Okay, well. Let''s come back here as well next week, yes?" Tifara suggested in a whisper. "I wanna observe David''s behavior more, before we can come up with something to help him." "Yea," her friends agreed in a whisper, shaking their heads as they put the books up except Tifara and left the library without even checking the book out. Chapter 16: Math Class with Sam As Tifara and Sam sat in their assigned seats near each other, the bell rang and they watched their Geometry Teacher close the door. Their teacher was a bold man with white hair and beard, wrinkles on his face and wore glasses. Their classmates'' chatter echoed across the classroom. "Alright, students," The Geometry teacher announced, walking straight to his desk. "Time to lower your voices. I''ll be taking some roll call now." When students talked amongst one another and lowered their voices, Tifara studied the entire classroom. Then she saw some girls including Calpurnia gossiping about her while looking at her back and forth. Some boys'' cheeks blushed whenever they examined Tifara''s body. Tifara held onto her necklace when fear dominated her heart. She looked up at the ceiling and thought, Oh, dear Lord, please help me! Sam noticed her actions and saw her put her head down. He tapped onto her shoulder. "Hey, are you okay?" Tifara turned to Sam, frowning at him, tilting her head left a little, moving her eyes down. "No¡I''m not¡" Sam angrily turned to the rude people around him, then returned his attention back to Tifara, "They botherin'' you again?" "Yes¡" He turned to the rude people and Tifara back and forth with his serious face. "Jus'' ignore them, Tifara. Especially Calpurnia. And keep dependin'' on Elohim. Trust Him, you''ll get through it. It''s His timing, y''know." Tifara grinned at Sam. "Thanks, Sam." "No, problem," Sam responded, smiling back at Tifara. After their Geometry teacher roll called all his students'' names, he got up from his chair and walked towards his white chalkboard, after he activated the PowerPoint. "Okay now, students. Take out your notes. We''ll be doing ''Introduction to Euclidean Geometry'' today." The students obeyed him and pulled out their notebook papers from their binders. While the teacher lectured the class and his students took notes, Tifara took a look around the classroom and saw that all the students were taking notes. We''ll, everybody''s doin'' quite well, Tifara thought. Except Calpurnia, of course. Calpurnia turned to Tifara and her classmates around her back and forth a couple times, before she wrote on a piece of paper. Hold on¡she curiously thought, What''s she doin''? As soon as Calpurnia finished writing a note on her desk, she began to pass a note in class. Tifara gasped quietly with her hand covering her mouth. Calpurnia''s passin'' a note in class! She thought, I better do somethin'' now. It''s my chance for payback for what she did a couple days ago. If I''m currently grounded, so can Calpurnia. Tifara quickly stood up from her desk and pointed her finger at Calpurnia. "Excuse me, sir. Calpurnia''s passin'' a note in class." "Oh? Is that so?" Tifara''s Geometry teacher said, giving Calpurnia his serious look on his face, as he and the rest of the students turned to Calpurnia. Calpurnia hid the note behind her back just in time and forcefully grinned at the teacher. "Wh-What?! Of course not, Tifara. Why would I do that, sir?" Calpurnia replied as her fearful sweat poured down from her face. "Don''t listen to Tifara, sir. She''s the one that''s lyin'', y''know." "Oh, if that''s the case"-Tifara smirked at Calpurnia-"then what you got behind your back?" "Oh, really now?" Tifara''s Geometry teacher returned his attention to Calpurnia after getting his focus off of Tifara. He noticed Calpurnia''s hands were on her back. "You''re not hiding anything on your back, are you?" "Well, of course not, sir. Honest," Calpurnia answered fearfully. "Really?" Tifara''s Geometry teacher questioned. "Well then, if you got nothing behind your back, may I see it please?" This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings. "Well, uh, sure¡" Calpurnia said, "Of course, I would. Jus'' give me a min-" "No, I want to see it now, Calpurnia!" The teacher roared, putting his hand out forward, moving his index back a couple times. Calpurnia widened her fearful eyes. "B-B-But, sir. I-" "Now, Calpurnia!" The teacher roared, "Don''t make me ask you again, do you understand me?" Calpurnia frowned, putting her head down, placing her hands besides her legs. "Yes¡sir¡" "Good," the teacher said as he closed his eyes and smiled out of relief. As Calpurnia walked her way towards her teacher, Tifara sat back down her seat. While the students whispered amongst each other and watched Calpurnia, Sam turned to Tifara with a grin. He quietly high-fived Tifara. "You did great, Tifara!" He whispered, closing his eyes with a grin on his face. "Thanks, Sam," Tifara whispered back, performing the same action to Sam as he did to her earlier. "No problem." As soon as Calpurnia made her way near the teacher, he gave her a serious look on his face. He pulled out his palm hand and moved his fingers except his thumb backwards a couple times. "Now hand it over." "Um¡uh¡" Calpurnia trembled, fearfully putting her head down, looking up at the teacher''s face back and forth. "Now, Calpurnia," the teacher nearly closed his eyes when he gazed at her. "Yes¡sir¡" Calpurnia just put her head down and handed her teacher over her note. Her teacher unfolded the note and looked inside it. After he read it, he returned to Calpurnia and glared at her. "So you passed a note in class to bully one of my students, calling her a ''slut,'' huh?!" Calpurnia returned her attention to her teacher with a frown on her face. "But, sir. I-" Her teacher shook her head. "Now, now, now, Calpurnia." Then his head just stood still. "I''ve jus'' had it with anymore excuses from you, young lady." He turned and walked towards his desk, pulling out his office referral, writing on it. "Be prepared to be given an office referral and be sent to the principal''s office, Calpurnia." "Yes¡sir¡" Calpurnia turned around and glared at Tifara. While the students continued to whisper amongst each other, Tifara gave Calpurnia a sly smirk on her face. Looks like we''re now even, Calpurnia, Tifara thought. This is what you get for bullyin'' people, includin'' trippin'' me over a couple times, especially from a day before yesterday. Hopefully, you don''t go to church with Saul this weekend. ''Cause I really can''t have her bein'' with him there. Really. Once the teacher stapled the note to the office referral and handed it to Calpurnia, Calpurnia took it and left the classroom for the principal''s office. Then the teacher stood up from his desk and returned his attention to his students. "Alright, class. Quiet down now;it''s time to return to lecture." The students quieted down and returned to their teacher''s lecture, taking notes from the PowerPoint. After the teacher lectured the class, he pulled the worksheets from his desk and passed five of them to all four rows each, along with ten bags of the shape pieces. "Alright, class," the teacher declared. "We''re going to play a Math game, as an activity with your partner of your choice. Once you and your partner are done with your activity, please raise your hand and I will come to pick them up. If neither of you can solve the problem, also please raise your hand and I will come to assist you. Other than that, get to work!" When Sam and Tifara received their worksheets and a bag of green shape pieces, they turned to one another. "So you ready to do this, partner?" Sam asked. Tifara closed her eyes and smiled at Sam, tilting her head right, putting her hands together. "Sure thing, partner. Let''s get started." "Mhn," Sam agreed as he and Tifara then scooted their desks towards one another and worked on the activity together. "So Sam?" Tifara asked. "What''s up?" Sam questioned back. "I heard you had P.E. with David, can you tell me ''bout that?" "What? The kid from your homeroom period class?" Tifara shook her head. "Yep, that''s the one." "Sure¡he''s jus'' a loner as always and people wouldn''t bother hangin'' out with him, because he''s a late bloomer. So he gets bullied a lot." Tifara gasped with her hands covering her mouth, widening her shocked eyes. "That''s awful. Did you help him out?" "Uh-huh, of course, I did, Tifara." Sam shook his head. "And it gets even worse. I tried to be friends with him, but he refused to do so. ''Cause he doesn''t want to associate people who are friends with quote unquote ''Titsfara.''" Tifara put her head down and growled. Her shadow covered her forehead and eyes. "I see¡" "Yea, he''s kind of a bitch, if you ask me." "Uh-huh¡I see that¡" Now why does this boy want to be alone all the time?! Doesn''t he realize that it''s unhealthy to be lonely?! Why can''t he be at least nice to people like Sam?! Tifara angrily thought. Then she displayed her annoyed face and moved her eyes right, crossing her arms. But for some reason, he''s nice to Saul all the sudden¡Recalling her time watching David being kind to Saul, she touched chin and rubbed it with her finger. Ghee, I wonder why¡ "Uh, Tifara?" Sam questioned, raising his eyebrow at her. "Huh?" Tifara responded to Sam''s call. "Are you okay?" "Yea, I''m fine. Really," Tifara said, closing her eyes. "I was jus'' thinkin'' of somethin''. That''s all." "Oh, okay. Good," Sam said out of relief. "I was jus'' makin'' sure you''re alright." Sam and Tifara continued to work on their activity until they finished it, turning in their worksheets to their teacher. They continued chatting with each other, until the school bell rang. Chapter 17: Worst Nightmare When Tifara entered Mrs. Kaine''s class, she and her friends waved their goodbyes to each other and walked towards her assigned seat. She saw David draw a picture on his desk while she walked forward. But she curiously stared at the drawing. Hmm, I wonder what David''s drawin'' all the sudden, she thought as she sat in her assigned seat. David turned his attention to Tifara and silently growled at her for a moment. Yet Tifara avoided giving him eye contact when she sat in her seat, turning her head to the wall on the right. "Hmph," David said as he returned his attention to his drawing and continued drawing it. Then Tifara turned to David and slowly leaned forward closely. There she saw a drawing of a woman in her late twrnties with big tits and wider hips as well as she wore a black bikini with skulls all over it. David''s cheeks blushed when he smiled at it, while Tifara gave the drawing her blank stare, slowly leaning back to her position. Tifara just stood there with her eyes widened without even blinking them for a few seconds, remembering what Sam told her and her friends at the library earlier today. Wow, Sam wasn''t jokin'' when he said David''s into lewd women, Tifara thought, moving her eyes left without even looking at David. She moved them back forward. As soon as David completed his drawing, he placed it in his binders and curiously turned to Tifara. He raised his eyebrow and gazed at her for a bit. "Um, Tifara? Are you okay?" Tifara didn''t answer and still stared forward, so he leaned forward and waved his hand sideways in front of her. "Um, hello?!" David impatiently said with his annoyed look on his face. "Is anybody there?!" Tifara blinked her eyes a couple times and curiously turned to David. "Huh? What''s up? Is everythin'' alright?" "Uh, yea¡" David responded while still glaring at her. "I jus'' wanna make sure you''re okay and all, ''cause you''ve been standin'' there not doin'' a thing for a while now." "Oh, um, I''m fine, thanks," Tifara said as she glared at David back. "And I thought you don''t wanna talk to me, so what''s with that all the sudden?" David quickly put his head down and growled at Tifara for a moment, before he turned to the wall on the left far away from him and crossed his arms with his eyes closed. "Hey, don''t get any ideas, sexual harassment girl! I was tryin'' to make sure you''re okay and shit, that''s all!" "David, watch your Language, sir," Mrs. Kaine demanded in her serious tone, while Tifara growled at him back with her head down, and her shadow covering her eyes and forehead after David called her "sexual harassment girl." The majority of the students chuckled at and gossipped about David, when David widened his twitchy eyes and put his hands out forward with his reddened cheeks for a while. "Nuh!" Then David closed his eyes and scratched the back of his head, realizing that he cursed in class. "Oh, sorry, ''bout that, Mrs. Kaine. That was my fault I said that out loud. I didn''t mean for that to happen. Honest." "Uh-huh, sure..." Mrs. Kaine shook her head with her eyes closed and her arms crossed. "And the next time you curse in my class and you''ll get an office referral, is that understood?" "Y-Yes, ma''am," David answered when he only opened one of his eyes, put his head down a little and frowned at the teacher out of embarrassment. "Good," Mrs. Kaine said as she angrily turned to Tifara. "And you aren''t supposed to bother him at all, Tifara!" Tifara widened. "B-But I didn''t talk to him though. David talked to me first." This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings. Mrs. Kaine nearly closed her eyes out of suspension. "I don''t want to hear it, young lady. You will get an office referral if you continue to argue with me. Do you understand me?!" Tifara frowned at Mrs. Kaine while the rest of the class also performed the same actions as they did to David, and David just glared at her, nearly closing his eyes as well. Then she turned her head left and put it down with her continuous sad face. "Yes¡ma''am¡" Mrs. Kaine became relieved when she heard Tifara''s response before the final bell rang. "Good." She turned to her students before she turned to her computer. "Alright, class. Quiet down. I''m going to take a roll call now, so please keep your voices down." The students lowered their voices while Mrs. Kaine called out every student''s name from her computer. Tifara laid her head down and gazed at David for a moment, while he no longer paid any attention to her. She quietly growled and glared at him, then she frowned all the sudden. Huuuh¡I wish David would get to know me. I really wanna be his friend, and I wanna get to know about him more, Tifara thought while she still stared at him. Then she looked up at the ceiling and whispered, "Dear Lord. Please help David overcome his loneliness through me and my friends. We really wanna help him out. In Yeshua''s name, Amen." After Mrs. Kaine finished her roll call, she showed them the video for the students including Tifara and David to take some notes on. **** Once the school bell rang and Tifara left school with her friends, Tifara quietly growled when certain students behaved the same way as before, making her tighten her grip onto her necklace. Sam and Dalila angrily shouted at those rude students while May turned to Tifara and patted on her shoulder. She leaned forward and whispered, "Hey, don''t let them bother you. Keep depending on the Lord, and you''ll win in the end." Tifara turned to May and grinned. "Thanks, May. I will." "Mhn." May shook her head with her eyes closed. "You''re welcome, Tifara." She lifted her head up and paid attention to her destination. Dear Lord, please give me strength, she thought, I literally can''t do this without ya. In Yeshua''s name, Amen. While she moved her eyes sideways, she gasped and stopped walking with her friends. No way! She thought out of shock, this can''t be real. There she saw Calpurnia walking with Saul. May immediately turned to Tifara. "Um, Tifara? Are you okay?" Once Sam and Dalila heard that, they quickly turned to Tifara with their curious, shocked faces. They called Tifara''s name, yet Tifara neither heard them nor May''s voices. May called her name again, this time tapping her finger on her shoulder. Tifara still didn''t respond, so May growled and glared at her as well as waving her hand at her, calling her best friend''s name. Tifara blinked her eyes and turned to May. "Huh?" "We all have been calling your name three times now, " May said. "Oh, sorry¡" Tifara said with her guilty face. "It''s just that I didn''t hear y''all. That''s all." Her friends gave her their forgiving grin. "It''s alright, Tifara." "Now are you okay? What''s wrong? You''ve been standin'' there for the past few moments now," Dalila said. "Yea, I''m fine. I was jus'' thinkin'' of somethin'' in my mind," Tifara answered. "Now let''s keep goin''. We gotta go help Dalila recover from her heart attack now." "Right!" Her friends agreed as they walked to Dalila''s house together. While they did that, Tifara no longer saw Calpurnia and Saul walking together. Tifara expressed her worried look on her face. Oh, man! This is really, really bad! I hope Saul doesn''t go out with Calpurnia, ''cause that''ll be devastating if he does, Tifara thought out of panic as she looked everywhere but couldn''t find them anywhere. However, she grinned at one good thing about her situation. At least May didn''t see Calpurnia walkin'' with Saul. If she did, not only I would have to compete with her too over Saul, especially with the part about her sayin'' "my Saul" crap. That shit would make me puke. Ugh! **** After Tifara exited May''s home, she rushed her way to the end of the street, to meet Saul there. Okay, I hope Saul''s there, not Calpurnia with him. It would be devastating if that''s the case, she thought while running forward. Once she made it there, she didn''t see Saul there. She stopped movin'' and scanned her surroundings, raising her fist in front of her chest. She widened her twitchy eyes. Oh, man! Saul''s not here! I mean, where is he?! He seriously can''t be with Calpurnia, can he?! I guess I''ll have to wait here for him. Maybe he''s runnin'' behind on some things that made him late. I''m sure he isn''t with Calpurnia anyhow. After she waited fifteen minutes for Saul, she sighed and frowned, getting ready to exit the suburbs without him. Oh, man. I can''t believe Saul isn''t here after all this time. Maybe he was with Calpurnia after all. Once she walked her steps out of the suburbs, she headed for the city alone for the first time in her school life. She couldn''t believe it in her own eyes that she left all alone, without Saul on her side. Chapter 18: Loss When Tifara reentered the city, she scanned her surroundings with a frown. She felt a little disappointed when Saul didn''t show up to reunite with her. Man¡I can''t believe Saul isn''t with me today, she thought, looking down below her. I wonder if he was still with Calpurnia or what? If he was, what were he and Calpurnia doin'' there? Now really I have to know that. She continuously fought through the crowd until she bumped into David''s uncle exiting the small caffeine store. "Ah!" She looked up at him and touched him. "Oh, I''m so sorry, sir. It was my fault. I should''ve paid attention to my surroundings." David''s uncle turned to Tifara and just raised his hand near his face. "Oh, it''s alright, ma''am. I''m just as guilty as you are, as I didn''t pay attention to my surroundings either. So don''t worry about it." After he opened his eyes, he recognized her face. "Hey, you''re that kid from yesterday, right?" "Mhn," Tifara responded, shaking her head. "Well, then how are you?" "I''m doin'' fine, sir. How are you?" "I''m doing fine as well." David''s uncle noticed Saul wasn''t present with Tifara, wondering where he went. "Hey, weren''t you with that boy yesterday?" Tifara widened her eyes and opened her eyes broad. "Ah!" Then she closed her mouth and moved her eyes left, crossing her arms with a frown. "He was for the past two days but he didn''t show up this evening." David''s uncle frowned at Tifara and placed his hand on her shoulder. "It''s alright. I''m sure you''ll get to walk with him tomorrow." Tifara turned to David''s uncle and uncrossed her arms, smiling at him. "Yea, of course I will, sir." "And may I ask you a couple questions before I return to the bookstore?" "Why, yes, sure. Anything." "My nephew told me that you and David didn''t get along with one another in your Homeroom Period class. Is that true?" Tifara sighed and moved her eyes left. "That¡is unfortunately true. I tried to get along with him and be his friend, yet he stubbornly refuses to do so." "Uh-huh. I see¡" He took a look around sideways and leaned forward, whispering, "and did you really sexually harass someone at school?" "Ah!" Tifara''s eyes widened and her cheeks reddened when she heard that. "Oh, no-no-no! Not at all, sir!" She placed her hands forward and moved her hands sideways a couple times. "You see¡" Tifara looked sideways and leaned forward, explaining everything in a whisper. David''s uncle shook his head in understanding. "Oh, I see¡now I understand you. Look, I''ll try to get David to befriend you and be nice to you." Tifara widened her eyes. "Oh, really? You really mean that? I mean, I''ll be happy to become David''s friend." "Oh, yea. I really mean it. I believe you''re not a bad person as people say you are." "Oh, thank you, sir!" Tifara exclaimed. "No problem, Tifara!" David''s uncle waved his hand at Tifara, while crossing the street. This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. Tifara widened her eyes when she saw an incoming car heading towards David''s uncle. She took a couple steps and put her hand out forward. "Sir, look out!" "Huh?!" David''s uncle curiously asked, quickly turning to the car when the car lights were shining on him. But Tifara was too late. The car hit David''s uncle and pushed him hard to the ground. People around her were walking towards him, either taking pictures or recording the event, chattering with one another. Tifara quickly ran towards him and kneeled down on the ground. She frowned at and shook him, when he didn''t move a muscle, lying there with his eyes closed. "Sir?! Sir?! Siiiir?!" But David''s uncle didn''t hear Tifara''s cry. She gave him her blank stare before she turned to the crowd. "Somebody call the ambulance, please! Somebody call the ambulance! Someone''s life is in immediate danger!" She turned to him one last time before the ambulance arrived. She screamed sir a couple times. But he still hadn''t answered her and remained unconscious. Once the ambulance arrived to pick up David''s uncle, she stood there and watched the ambulance leave with David beside his uncle. Poor David, she thought with a frown. I hope his uncle gets healed soon. I''ll pray for him when I return home. "Tifara!" Yulogia''s voice shouted to her right. "Huh? Yulogia?" Tifara curiously turned left and saw Yulogia and her parents run towards her. As soon as they got to her, they gave her a group hug. Tifara stood there for a moment before she hugged them back. Then the hug was broken up and Tifara and her family stared at one another. "Tifara, are you okay?!" Her mother asked. "Yea, I''m fine, ma," Tifara responded. "How do you guys know where I am? I was ''bout to head home." "We saw you on social media." Her father stated, pulling out his smartphone from his pocket, showing Tifara an online video. "Look!" Tifara leaned forward and watched the video. "Oh¡I see¡" she then returned to her parents. "Mom, dad. Can I visit one of my classmate''s uncle in the hospital tomorrow after school? I want to make sure if he''s okay or not." This is my greatest opportunity to get David to become my friend. His uncle said he''ll get David to become my friend, and David will be there to visit him. I''m gonna make sure he''s okay and is surviving the car crash. I want to get rid of David''s loneliness. I gotta do this, y''know, she thought with her determined look on her face. Tifara''s parents looked at one another, then returned their attention to their daughter. "We''ll see," Tifara''s mother said, studying her surroundings, placing her hand on Tifara''s arm. "We better get goin'' and head home now, before the local news comes over to bother us." "And once we get home, Tifara," her mother added. "We''ll pray for that man who suffered from the car crash earlier tonight." "Mhn." Tifara shook her head. As she, Tifara and the rest of the family head back home, Tifara''s mother held her hand onto her arm while she chatted with her husband. Yulogia frowned when she stared at her sister. Then she returned her attention forward, when Tifara moved her eyes right with a frown. Poor, David. First, he''s lonely. And now his uncle''s in critical condition, she thought when she looked up at the sky. I''m sure Elohim will help him survive through it. **** When the fourth day of school arrived and the school bell rang, some students remained outside of the school building, and others including Tifara and her friends headed their way for the cafeteria. Sam and Dalila chatted with one another and focused on their surroundings concerning Tifara back and forth. May patted on her best friend''s arm while she glared at those who behaved the same towards Tifara as before. Tifara put her head down, gripped onto her necklace and closed her eyes tightly. Dear Lord, please help me, she thought as she lifted her head up, looking around with her serious, determined look on her face. She didn''t allow rude people to put her down. May turned to Tifara and smiled when she noticed Tifara''s determined face. She returned to the crowd with her serious face. Alright, Tifara. Keep goin'', she seriously thought. Elohim has got ya covered, so keep your faith in Him-and Him alone. Tifara scanned her surroundings until her eyes spotted something that made her quietly gasp, widen her eyes and open her mouth. No freakin'' way! Tifara thought with her twitchy eyes. It can''t be! She saw Saul chatting and laughed with Calpurnia, while he walked towards the cafeteria. I can''t believe Calpurnia''s with Saul¡again¡ugh! I literally can''t believe Calpurnia''s puttin'' her grimey hands on my Saul! She angrily thought, glaring at Calpurnia. Well, jus'' you wait until I make that dickhead pay. You''ll see, Calpurnia. You''ll- "Awwwe, Calpurnia''s with my Saul! No fair!" May cried when she frowned at Saul and Calpurnia. Ah! What?! Tifara thought, leaning back, putting her hands out forward, opening her mouth. Oh, no-no-no! Not you too, May! I''m goin'' to get you too! Jus'' you watch! When May turned to Tifara, she gave Tifara her condescending smirk on her face with her eyes closed. Tifara glared and growled at May. Oh! That''s it! I''m ready to smack the shit out of that bitch! Sam noticed this when he turned to what the girls were staring at and snapped, "Oh, no you guys don''t!" Tifara and May turned to Sam. "W-What do ya mean, Sam?!" Tifara asked. "We didn''t do anything wrong. Honest." "Oh, yea, sure," Sam said. "If y''all hadn''t done anything wrong, why are y''all fightin'' over Saul again?! I literally saw y''all gettin'' ready to fight one another!" "Well¡um¡uh¡" Tifara and May tried to come up with an excuse, yet failed to come up with one. "Look, when we get to the cafeteria, we will make sure we''ll sit far away from those two. And I''ll do anything I can to prevent y''all from even lookin'' at him! I won''t allow y''all to start fightin'' over him, got it?!" Sam roared. "Got it¡" Tifara and May guiltily responded, putting their heads down. "Good," Sam said as he turned to the cafeteria. "We''re here." Chapter 19: Bad Things to Come As soon as Tifara arrived in class, she and her friends waved at each other and her friends left for their classes. She then turned to David and saw him glared at her with his eyes nearly closed, while everyone''s chatter echoed across the room. She glared at him back while she walked towards her assigned seat. Ghee, what the hell''s his problem? She curiously thought out of anger, I literally didn''t do anything wrong with him. Ghosh! Once she sat down, she put her head down and stared at the wall near her. David still glared at her, longer than anyone else around him. Then he tapped on her back hard. "Hey, sexual harassment girl." Tifara growled and didn''t answer him. So David tapped her back again. "Heeey, sexual harassment girl. Hellooo?" "It would be nice if you stop callin'' me sexual harassment girl and call me by my name, y''know. ''Cause otherwise, eat shit David!" Tifara snapped without even looking him in the eye. David deeply sighed out of anger, putting his head down, closing his eyes for a moment. Then he lifted his head up and examined Tifara. "Fine¡" Then his silence stood for only a few moments. "Well?" Tifara asked without turning to him. "Okay, okay, okay, fine¡It''s¡Tifara, right?" David asked. "Yep, that''s it." Tifara finally turned to David''s attention, with her eyes closed and a smile. David angrily sighed as he turned his face away from her, crossing his arms. "So what do ya what?" Tifara questioned. Then he returned his attention back to Tifara. "So why the hell did you chat with my uncle last night?! Why didn''t you save him?!" "Uh, your uncle and I bumped into each other, and your uncle chatted with me. And I tried to warn him about the incoming car, yet your uncle crossed the street too late. So it''s not my fault he forgot to look both ways, before he crossed the street and got run over by the car himself." Yet David didn''t buy it and he clenched his fist on his desk. "It''s totally"-David sniffed his nose as he couldn''t hold back his tears any longer-"your fault! If you didn''t talk to him and avoided him like a plague, none of this would''ve happened!" "No, it''s not! In fact, I couldn''t get him to not talk to me, even if I could!" Tifara then turned to the wall with her head slightly down. "He was jus'' a kind man, David. He''s too kind to not talk to him actually." David sucked his teeth at her, tightened his fist and opened his gritted mouth, glarin at Tifara more. "Oooo, I hate you, Tifara! I hate, hate, HATE YOU!!! Ya got that?!" "Ugh!" Tifara sucked her teeth back at David and returned her attention to the wall. "Alright, you too!" Mrs. Kaine roared when she turned to Tifara and David, while the rest of her students lowered their voices and turned to those kids that Mrs. Kaine was screaming about. "That''s enough fighting! If I catch you two fighting one last time, I''ll provide you both office referrals, do I make myself clear?!" "Yes, ma''am¡" Tifara and David said. "Good," Mrs. Kaine said out of relief when the final bell rang. This book''s true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience. Tifara turned to David and stared at him, while David turned to the wall and stared at it far away from it. Tifara''s memories of David''s uncle''s kindness from last night had invaded her heart. Oh, I''m gonna see his uncle, whether he likes it or not, she thought, glaring at David. And if he tries to prevent me from seein'' his uncle, ha, I''m not gonna let that happen. EVER! **** When lunchtime started, Tifara and her friends headed to the cafeteria together. Certain students around them behaved the same way towards Tifara as they did before. Sam and Dalila scanned their surroundings with their serious looks on their faces, while May patted on Tifara''s shoulder as she also gave rude people her serious look. Tifara tightened her grip on her necklace, closed her eyes and put her head down. Dear Lord, please help me! Give me strength to overcome my persecution! In Yeshua''s name, Amen! She thought before she returned her attention to her destination. When May turned to her best friend, she noticed her determined face, smiling at her. Then she returned scanning her surroundings with her serious face, especially the rude people. Sam turned to Tifara and asked, "Yo, Tifara. Are you alright back there?" Tifara shook her head. "Uh-huh. I''m perfectly fine." "Good." Sam closed his eyes with a smile. "I''m glad you''re okay." Then he turned to the cafeteria. "Aaaand we''re here!" When Tifara and her friends made it to the cafeteria, they studied their surroundings. They saw students either walking around with trays, eating in their seats or heading for the courtyard. Several administrators stood there and watched the crowd to preserve order in the cafeteria. "Okay, so let''s go eat!" Dalila said, turning to her boyfriend with her eyes closed and a smile on her face. "Right!" Tifara, May and Sam exclaimed, performing the same actions to Dalila. Then while Tifara and her friends walked towards the line, a certain number of students behaved the same way towards Tifara as before. This caused Tifara to hold onto her necklace. Her eyes were determined to fight her fears and ignored the rude people. Alright, Tifara. I gotta keep going, Tifara thought seriously. I can''t allow these people to put me down. I gotta keep goin''. I got to¡ Then Calpurnia and her friends walked up towards Tifara and her friends behind them. They didn''t even know that Calpurnia and her friends were following them. "Hey, sexual harassment girl!" Calpurnia''s voice echoed behind Tifara and her friends. "Huh?!" Tifara stopped moving and turned around, seeing Calpurnia and her friends walking up towards her and her friends. Tifara growled and glared at Calpurnia and her friends, while her friends turned around and stood near her. What does this bitch want now?! Tifara angrily thought. I literally want nothing to do with her and her shitty ass friends right now! NOT EVER! "Why don''t you stay away from Tifara, alright?!" May roared as she walked towards Tifara and stood near her, placing her hand onto her shoulder. "Yea!" Sam and Dalila walked towards Tifara and stood behind her. "Jus'' leave us alone! We don''t want any trouble!" "It''s Titsfara''s fault for gettin'' Calpurnia grounded yesterday!" Jecolia roared, pointing her finger at Tifara. "Yea!" Abby agreed. "Thanks to her, now she can''t temporarily hang out with us afterschool!" Yet Calpurnia put her head down, clenched her fists and growled at her friends, yelling, "Um, did I even ask you two for your help?!" Jecolia and Abby fearfully turned to Calpurnia and frowned at her, feeling guilty for their actions. "No¡" "Hmph, that''s what I thought," Calpurnia said out of relief before she turned back to Tifara. "Now if Tifara didn''t tattle tale on me yesterday, none of this would''ve happened. I would be able to hang out with my dearest Saul except for school, of course." Ah! Did she say, ''My dearest Saul?!'' I knew she has a thing for Saul! It''s obvious she does right alongside May! Tifara thought as she expanded her eyes, opening her mouth wide when she heard that. Did she say she couldn''t even hang out with Saul at church?! You know what that means, don''t ya, Tifara?! That means¡Saul''s officially mine this weekend?! How awesome is that?! She turned to May and saw her eyes wide when May also heard what Calpurnia said. Uh-huh, yep. That''s what I thought May would react, Tifara thought when she quietly growled at her best friend. Well, not on my watch! "But, uh, it happened and I''m gonna make you pay, big time!" Calpurnia added, glaring at Tifara, nearly closing her eyes. Then Calpurnia turned to the crowd and clapped her hands with her vicious smile. "Titsfara, sexual harassment girl, Titsfara, sexual harassment girl, Titsfara, sexual harassment girl¡" After Calpurnia kept repeating those exact same words and waved her hands up a couple times, her friends joined in on saying these words and clapped their hands with her at the same time. Then as soon as the crowd around them noticed it, they also joined in. Tifara turned around and began to head for the line there. "Let''s go get some lunch, you guys. I don''t wanna be here much longer, y''know." "Right on!" Her friends smiled at Tifara and headed for the cafeteria with Tifara. "Just try to ignore them, alright?" Sam said. "Oh, don''t worry, Sam," Tifara responded. "I will." Sam grinned at Tifara. "Good." While Tifara and her friends walked towards the cafeteria, Calpurnia and her friends walked with them, performing their same actions. Tifara held onto her necklace tightly and tried to ignore Calpurnia, her friends and the crowd for a few moments. Yet sadness overtook her heart, causing her to put her head down with a frown and her eyes closed. Okay, I can''t do it! Tifara cried in her heart, I literally can''t do it! I''m too much of a failure, y''know! When Tifara sniffed her nose near her friends, her friends were about to angrily turn around towards Calpurnia and her friends until the administrators'' watched them, making Calpurnia and her friends walk away from them. Then they turned around and headed back to the line while May patted on her shoulder for comfort. Thank Elohim for that. If it wasn''t for that, Tifara''s heart will be in much worse condition. Chapter 20: The Fourth Day of School Ends When Tifara and her friends were catching the ball in Dalila''s home after school, the room was surroudded by white walls. The sunlight and the window''s shadow shone through the window on them. Tifara and her friends'' bare feet felt the soft cushion from the light brownish carpet. Dalila held onto the blue ball near her chest and took a look around. She wondered which person she should throw the ball to for a while. Then she turned to Tifara. "Here!" She threw it to Tifara. Tifara put her hands out forward and caught the ball in them. She also took a look around and wondered which person should she throw the ball to: Sam or May. Alright, take your pick, she thought seriously, We don''t have all day, y''know. Then she turned to her best friend and threw it to her. "Catch this, May!" "Got it!" May said when she caught the ball into her hands. "So, Tifara?" Dalila asked. "Yea? What''s up, Dalila?" Tifara asked back after May threw the ball to Sam. "Did you get permission to see the man in the hospital?" Dalila questioned. "What man?" "You know, the one who got hit by a car last night. Don''t you remember?" Tifara''s memories of the car accident last night resurfaced in her heart. Oh, yea. I almost forgot ''bout that, she thought. Dalila gave Tifara her anxious look on her face after Sam passed the ball to her, tilting her head to the left a little. "Uh, Tifara? Hellooo?" May and Sam noticed Tifara''s silence as they called her name. Tifara curiously turned to May and Sam. "Huh? What''s up?" "Dalila''s callin'' ya," May and Sam answered. "Oh¡" Tifara then turned to Dalila. "Huh?" "Are you okay? ''Cause you didn''t even bother to answer my question earlier," Dalila responded. Tifara couldn''t even remember what question Dalila was asking her earlier. "Um, can ya repeat the question? I jus'' got distracted there for a few moments." "Sure," Dalila answered, repeating her question. "Oh, no. Not at all," Tifara answered, "In fact, I haven''t heard anythin'' from him as of yet." "I see¡" Dalila said as she passed the ball towards May. "So how''s your heart feelin'' so far? Is it slowly recoverin''?" Tifara asked when May passed the ball to Sam. "Uh-huh," Dalila responded when she shook her head. "It''s doin'' good so far and I praise Elohim for it." "Oh, that''s good!" Tifara said with a smile. "Are y''all ready to do some ministry work tomorrow?" Sam asked when he passed the ball to Tifara. "Oh, yea. Totally!" Tifara, May and Dalila answered as Tifara passed the ball towards Dalila. I can''t wait to do some work for the Lord tomorrow! Tifara excitedly thought, when she continued passing the ball with her friends until it was time for them to leave. The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. **** Once Tifara waved her good-bye at May and left her house, Tifara headed her way straight to the end of the sidewalk. I hope Saul''s there today, she worriedly thought. I jus'' hate the thought of not seein'' him around twice in a row. Once she reached the end of the sidewalk, there she saw Saul waving at her with a grin. Tifara gasped excitedly and waved back at Saul. I can''t believe it! He''s finally here! She thought. I wondered why he didn''t meet me yesterday. Well, there''s only one way to find out! As soon as Tifara and Saul reunited at the end of the sidewalk, they jus'' stood in front of and stared at one another, before they walked together towards the exit of May''s suburbia. "Hey," Saul said. "Hey," Tifara said. "So ''bout yesterday¡" Saul closed his eyes and raised his palm up for a moment before he returned his attention to Tifara. "It''s alright, Tifara. I know what you''re goin'' to say, and I''m sorry I didn''t walk you home yesterday. I was so busy helpin'' out Calpurnia''s family that I didn''t get a chance to meet ya yesterday evening." "Oh¡I see¡" So that''s why he didn''t show up yesterday, was the one thing that came out of Tifara''s heart. "So would ya forgive me?" "Mhn." Tifara shook her head with her eyes closed and an understanding smile. "So were you able to walk home alone with no problems last night?" Saul asked. "Oh, yea. I was absolutely fine, Saul," Tifara answered. "So have you heard of David''s uncle¡?" Saul shook his head. "Yea¡he was in bad shape. I feel so bad for him, y''know¡" "Yea¡" Tifara put her head down at first, then she returned her head to her destination. "That was awful¡I hope he''s okay though¡" "Listen, about this date¡" "Yes?" Tifara turned to Saul. "I''ll be doin'' more ministry work this Saturday after church, so I''m thinkin'' we should go on the date at another time. What do ya say?" Tifara expanded her eyes when she heard that, putting her head down with her sad face before she returned her attention to Saul. "Oh¡um, uh¡sure¡but when do ya want to meet me?" "I don''t know yet," Saul answered, "But I''ll let ya know soon." "Oh¡okay¡" Oh, man¡I can''t believe that after Calpurnia got grounded yesterday and May not knowing about me and Saul walkin'' home together, it makes me really sad to hear that my date with Saul has been canceled, she sadly thought, putting her head down more before she returned her attention to her destination. **** When Saul walked Tifara home, Tifara turned to Saul and said, "Bye, Saul. I''ll see ya next week." "Yea, me too. Bye!" Saul said back as he and Tifara waved at each other. After Saul walked away from Tifara, she turned around and placed her step on a staircase. She sighed and looked up at her house for a moment. Too bad my date with Saul was canceled, she thought with a frown, It would''ve been so romantic if it wasn''t. "Tifara!" A familiar voice yelled at Tifara from behind her, before Tifara took another step on a staircase. Tifara widened her eyes when she recognizes that voice. No freakin'' way, she surprisingly thought, It can''t be-. Once she turned around, she saw David standing behind her. "David?!" Eeehhh?! What''s David doin'' here in this late at night anyway? Tifara thought as she walked her way towards David. "What are you doin'' here?" "I wanna say somethin'' to ya before I head home," David said. "Oh¡" Tifara''s eyebrow was raised at David. "''bout what?" "I wanna apologize to ya ''bout my rudeness earlier this week," David responded, putting his head down. "And¡I''m sorry." Then he turned back to Tifara while she grinned at him. "Look, I''m not doin'' this on my own free will. I''m doin'' this for my uncle in the hospital. Plus, I needed his money for my presidential run. So will you forgive me?" Tifara shook her head. "Sure, I forgive ya. Will ya be my friend and hang out with me and my friends tomorrow?" "Y-Yea¡sure¡" David reluctantly answered. "I''ll be your friend, but I''ll only hang out with y''all on Monday instead. I''m busy this weekend." "Ah, I see¡" Tifara said. "Well, see ya on Monday!" "Yea, you too!" After Tifara and David waved at each other and David headed home, Tifara turned around and smiled, looking up at the night sky. "Oh, give praise to Elohim for havin'' David to become my friend through his uncle. I love what You''ve done for me. Thank You!" Then Tifara happily walked upstairs and entered her apartment. While Todo barked and dashed towards Tifara, she swapped her school shoes with her house slippers. "Welcome home, Tifara!" Her family members shouted. "How was school?" Her father asked with a smile. Tifara kneeled down and petted Todo with a frown. "It was bad as usual, but I didn''t get in trouble though." "Ah, I''m sorry to hear that your day didn''t go well, but I''m glad you didn''t get in trouble though," her mother said, also smiling at Tifara. "You have homework, right?" Tifara shook her head. "Why, of course I do, ma." "Good, now get on with it. Your sister finished hers already. Time you do yours," her mother demanded. Tifara stopped petting Todo and stood up from the floor. "Alright, ma. I will." "Plus, dinner will be finished with cooking soon, so please do your homework as effectively as you can, okay?" Her mother asked. "Okay, ma. I will," Tifara reassured. As Tifara was about to head for her bedroom, Yulogia walked her steps towards her older sister. Tifara just looked down at Yulogia. "And did you have a good day at school today, my lil sister?" Yulogia shook her head sideways. "Nope, not at all." Tifara frowned at her sister. "Awwweee, I''m sorry to hear that. I''m sure Elohim will provide ya a good school day next Monday." "Yea, sure¡" Yulogia gave Tifara a skeptical look on her face. "I highly doubt it, Big Sis." Tifara sighed when she watched her little sister run to her room. Then she walked towards hers. Dear Lord, please continue to keep Yulogia to have faith in You, she thought. I know you can. You have to, Elohim. In Yeshua''s name, Amen. Once Tifara entered her room, she began to do some homework before she ate dinner with her family. Chapter 21: A Stroll in the Park Over the week, Tifara and David''s friendship grew as he hung out with her friends at school and she was no longer grounded;he also protected her from rude people despite his lustful personality. The more he got to know her and her friends the more he started to like them. And Tifara and her friends visited David''s uncle in the hospital for his recovery from the car crash. They prayed for David''s uncle''s recovery during his hospital stay. During David''s uncle''s recovery though, after Tifara and her friends finished their ministry work on a Friday morning, they said their good-byes individually and went on to their separate ways. Once Sam was out of the picture, May dashed towards Tifara and tapped on Tifara''s shoulder. "Wait here for me. I''m gonna go get Dalila, so we can go to the new park together, remember?" Tifara''s memories reminded her heart of going to the park with her best friend and Dalila in her P.E. class last week. She shook her head. "Okay." Tifara stood there and waited silently, watching May run after Dalila. Man, I can''t wait to go to the new park with my girlfriends. So exciting! She thought with her widened eyes and an excited smile. People passed by her in opposite directions on the sidewalk. Once May returned to Tifara with Dalila, she exclaimed, "Alright, let''s go to the new park then!" "Great! What are we waitin'' for?!" Tifara exclaimed. "Right?!" Dalila questioned excitedly. As soon as May led Tifara and Dalila to the park, Tifara and Dalila followed her. Their hearts beated whenever they ran. The cool, morning breeze blew into the young women''s faces. Alright, new park. Here we come! Tifara thought while she continued to run with May and Dalila. **** Once those young ladies arrived though, they panted and bended forward, placing their hands on their knees. People walked past them in opposite directions. After cooling off from all that running, they stood up straight and examined their surroundings with their broadened eyes. There they saw people either walking or running-by themselves or with others. Some people sat on benches and watched children play on the big, orange playground set. Others were doing some exercise in the athletic area. Wow! May was totally right ''bout that, Tifara thought excitedly. This place really is amazing after all. May raised her fists up underneath her chin when her amazed eyes moved sideways, then aimed at the athletic area. "Oh, yea! There''s the athletic area! Hold on, baby. I''m comin''!" "Ah!" Tifara put her hand out forward when she watched May run after the athletic area. Dalila grinned and shook her head sideways. "Oh, there goes May as usual. Always the athletic type." When Tifara thought about that, she smiled and agreed with Dalila''s statement. She turned to Dalila once Dalila walked past her in a couple steps. "C''mon, Tifara," Dalila said. "Let''s go!" Tifara shook her head. "Mhn. I''m coming." Once Tifara and Dalila made it to the athletic area, they watched May pull herself up and down on the bar. "Oh, yea! Whooo-hooo!" May exclaimed while she exercised. "Hmm¡" Tifara grinned at May with her hands crossed and moved sideways a little bit. Dalila took a look around to see if anyone was finished with their equipment. She saw a romantic couple get off of the sit ups one and walked away from it, dashing towards it. She even turned to her friends and pointed at the sit ups equipment. "I''ll be doin'' the sit ups over there!" This content has been misappropriated from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. Tifara turned to Dalila and watched Dalila go. "Okay!" "Okay!" May responded while she continued her exercise. Yet Tifara wasn''t interested in exercising with her friends. She was only interested in swinging the swings behind her. Turning around though, she broadened her eyes when she saw something, gasping quietly. No way! She thought out of shock. There she saw David sitting on the bench. David''s here! I wonder what he''s doin'' here. Well, this is where I''ll find out, she continuously thought. Tifara turned around to her friends. "I''ll go hang out with David near the playground set." May and Dalila stopped exercising for a minute and looked out at David, gasping. "No way! David''s here?!" May asked while she and Dalila took a couple steps forward and stopped near Tifara. "Yep, he sure is," Tifara answered. "What''s he doin'' here?" Dalila asked, crossing her arms. "I don''t know," Tifara replied. "But I''m willin'' to find out." She walked forward. "Maybe we''ll go with you," Dalila suggested, following Tifara with May. "Yea, me too," May said. "Yea, sure. Go ahead," Tifara said. Once Tifara and her friends almost made it to David, Tifara''s voice called out David''s name. "Huh?!" David curiously asked, turning to Tifara and her friends. He saw them waving at him before they stood near him. "Oh, hi, Tifara, May, Dalila. How are you guys?" He noticed Sam''s absence from them. "And where''s Sam?" "We''re doin'' fine, but¡" Tifara answered. "Sam went home to help out his parents with community service," Dalila replied. "Plus¡" May added, "We''re supposed to have our girls only day together anyway." "O-Oh! I''m sorry!" David broadened his eyes when he heard what came out of May''s mouth. "I didn''t mean to ruin your girls only day! I''ll jus'' go elsewhere." He stood up from the bench and began to exit the park. Ah! Tifara thought, widening her eyes, raising her fists underneath her chin, with her serious, determined look on her face. Okay, I can''t allow David to go home alone, feeling guilty like this. I jus'' can''t- "H-Hey, wait! Don''t go!" Tifara put her hand out forward. "Huh?!" David stopped moving and turned around, watching Tifara grab his shirt. "Wh-What are ya doin'', Tifara?! I''m fine bein'' alone, okay?" Tifara shook her head and put it down. "No, please stay." She lifted her head. "At least for a while¡" "Yea! We would like to hang out with ya!" Dalila and May agreed. "O-Oh, okay. Well if you guys say so," David said. Tifara gasped and smiled at David out of joy. "Oh, yea! Let''s go to the athletic area!" "Oh, ''bout that¡" David got Tifara''s hand away from his shirt and put his head down. "You see¡I hate doin'' anythin'' athletic." "Oh¡we''ll, what do ya wanna do then, David?" May asked. "Yea¡" Dalila agreed. "Ummm¡uhhh¡" David studied his surroundings for something to do when he couldn''t figure out what he wanted to do in the new park. Then he spotted the four empty swings slowly moving back and forth a little. He returned his head to the young women. "Maybe we can go hit the swings then?" After Tifara and her friends searched their eyes around and spotted the swings, they turned to David with their eyes closed and a couple of grins on their faces. "Sure, why not!" Running towards the swings however, a couple of children started occupying two out of four empty swings. "Uhhh¡" Their eyes widened when they watched those children''s parents assist the children to swing the swings. "Ohhh, great! There''s now only two unoccupied swings," May complained with a frown. "Yea¡" Dalila also agreed with a frown. Tifara expressed her determined look on her face and walked towards the swings. "Looks like David and I will swing the swings." "Huh?!" May, Dalila and David questioned with their eyes widened. "B-B-But, Tifara! What are ya-" May questioned, putting her hand out forward. Tifara turned around. "David and I aren''t interested in exercising in the athletic area. Trust me, David and I will be on the swings for a while;once we''re done, we head over there and let y''all know ''bout it, okay?" Then May and Dalila shook their heads, getting ready to leave the area. "Okay! See ya later!" "Bye!" Tifara and David waved back at May and Dalila, watching them dash towards the athletic area. Then they turned toward the swings and rushed their way towards them before the two other kids grabbed hold of them. Sitting on the swings, they turned to one another and just slowly moved back and forth. "So¡" Tifara began to speak with her head down, then turning to David. "How was your presidential run so far?" David sighed with his head down, then turned to Tifara. "It wasn''t good. People aren''t even accepting my pamphlets." "Oh¡" Tifara turned right and put her head down. "I''m sorry to hear that¡" David turned left and took a look around. "But I''m glad my uncle funded my presidential run. I jus'' want people to respect me and take me seriously including my own parents despite being a late bloomer." "I see¡I''m sorry to hear you aren''t loved by your parents, David." "Oh, don''t worry. It''s alright. Anyway, how was your ministry work? Did it go so well?" Tifara sighed and turned back to David. "No¡not at all. Only a few people accepted the Gospel." "Oh, I''m sorry to hear that. I''m sure it''ll get better." "Yea, it will. I''m sure of it. Have you heard any news of your uncle lately?" "No, not yet." "I see¡" After Tifara and David chatted for a while on the swing, they got off of them and took turns with May and Dalila. Tifara''s friends swung on the swings while Tifara and David chatted with one another, strolling in the park. It was their only beginning. Chapter 22: New Years Around September It was the second day of Rosh Shannah, and Tifara and Yulogia arrived at the bridge with bread. They looked for the spot to throw bread crumbs, yet they had difficulty finding it. Their eyes spotted numerous people standing at both sides of the edges of the bridge, throwing pieces of bread at the lake. People''s chatter echoed all around them. The Jacaranda trees stood by the sidewalks, and the bluish-violet petals rained down from their tree branches. The police just stood by and watched people, never minding them throwing bread crumbs over the bridge as long as there was no chaos. While Tifara''s eyes searched for a place to throw pieces of bread at the lake, Yulogia crossed her eyes and turned right with her annoyed face. "Um¡uh¡which spot should we throw the bread out of the bridge?" Tifara asked. "How should I know?!" Yulogia snapped without even looking her elder sister in the eye. Tifara sighed and frowned at Yulogia. "You still mad at Elohim?" "What do ya think, Tifara?!" Yulogia angrily turned to Tifara with her fists clenched. She then turned her face away from Tifara and recrossed her arms. "I still can''t believe Elohim still hasn''t helped us so far and I''m surprised you still have faith in Him. I don''t even feel like throwin'' some bread crumbs out of the bridge today." Tifara excused Yulogia''s attitude. "Look, you still need to have patience with Him. Yes, it takes a long time for our prayers to be answered. I mean, jus'' looked at Abraham and Sarah as well as Isaac and Rebecca throughout the book of Genesis. They asked Elohim for a son and they waited years for their prayers to be answered." Yulogia turned to Tifara and uncrossed her arms. "R-Really?" Tifara shook her head. "Yea, of course! If we keep havin'' faith in Him and be patient with Him, our prayers will be answered in no time." Yulogia smiled at Tifara and shook her head, closing her eyes. "Mhn!" Then Tifara continued to look around, this time with Yulogia searching with her, walking forward while people walked past her and her sister in opposite directions. "Alright, now where''s our spot to throw some bread out?" "Yea, it''s gettin'' incredibly difficult to find one," Yulogia said. They looked everywhere and they still couldn''t find any. Man, where the hell''s our throwing spot? It''s gotta be here somewhere, Tifara frustratingly thought as she and Yulogia continuously looked around their surroundings, until they finally found it. Tifara gasped when she saw an unoccupied spot that was standing at the end of the sidewalk. I finally found it! She excitedly thought while Yulogia curiously turned to Tifara. "Huh?" Yulogia asked. "What is it, big sis?" "Look." Tifara pointed her finger at their throwing spot. "There''s our throwing spot. Let''s go there quickly before someone else takes it!" Yulogia shook her head right after she turned and gazed at their throwing spot, shaking her head. "Mhn!" Tifara and Yulogia dashed toward their throwing spot. And once they got there, Tifara pulled out four pieces of bread and gave two to Yulogia. "Here!" "Thanks," Yulogia said, grabbing a couple of pieces of bread from Tifara''s hand. "You''re welcome," Tifara said, tying up the bread bag, placing it on the bridge wall. She and Yulogia broke the bread into crumbs and threw it out to the lake. They smiled when they were glad to throw it. Ah¡my favorite time of the year¡Tifara thought, I wish things were like this forever, y''know. "Yo!" David''s voice echoed to the left of Tifara and her little sister. Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. Huh?! David?! What''s he doin'' here?! Tifara curiously thought as she quickly turned to the left. She gasped with her eyes broadened. "Huh?!" Yulogia heard her sister''s gasp and curiously turned to Tifara. "What''s wrong, big sis?!" Yulogia also turned left to investigate what her sister was looking at. There they saw David smiled and waved at them. "What''s up?" David grinned at Tifara and waved at her. It is! Tifara excitedly thought, waving at him. "Hi, David! Happy new year!" "Oh, I don''t celebrate Rosh Shannah," David said. "Oh¡really?" Tifara questioned as she and Yulogia gave David a blank stare. "No, I don''t," David said. "I celebrate New Year''s on January 1st, not around September or October." "Oh¡I see¡" Tifara said with a blank stare. David glared at the sisters. "What, you guys have a problem with that?!" "Oh, no-no-no! Not at all. Honest," Tifara answered. "It''s jus'' that I''ve never met a person who doesn''t celebrate Rosh Shannah before. That''s all." David stopped glaring at the sisters. "Oh, I see¡" "Um, Tifara?" Yulogia asked, looking up at her sister. "Hm?" Tifara turned to Yulogia. "Aren''t you gonna introduce me to David?" Tifara widened her eyes and gasped when her hand covered her mouth. "Oh, I''m so sorry! I totally forgot ''bout that." She pointed her palm at David. "Yulogia, I want you to meet David." "Hi there, Yulogia," David said as he waved his hand at Yulogia. Tifara then turned to David and pointed her palm at Yulogia. "David, I would like you to meet my lil'' sis, Yulogia." "Hiya there, David," Yulogia smiled and waved back at David with her eyes closed. "It''s a pleasure to meet ya!" "It''s a pleasure to meet ya too," David responded, leaning his back against the bridge, watching Tifara and Yulogia throw bread crumbs at the lake. "So how was your day goin'' so far, David?" Tifara asked. "Other than my parents forcin'' me to celebrate this damn holiday this weekend instead of January 1st, it''s goin'' pretty alright so far," David answered. "What ''bout you two?" "We''re also havin'' a good day so far as well," Tifara replied, turning to Yulogia. "Right, lil'' sis?" Yulogia shook her head when looking up at Tifara. "Yea, we sure did!" Then she turned to David while Tifara continued throwing bread crumbs at the lake. "So David." "Hm?" David asked. "Are ya in the same grade as I am?" David gave Yulogia his annoyed, angry face when he glared at her. "What?! No! I''m actually in the same grade as your sister! Why the heck do ya think that?!" Yulogia glared at him back. "Hey! You don''t need to be a total jerk, y''know! I asked that because you look like you could be in my grade level, not Tifara''s!" "Well, excuse me for bein'' a fourteen-year-old late bloomer. So what grade are you in then?!" "I''m in Year Dalet of Elementary school, that''s what!" "Okay, okay, okay, you two. Let''s not continue on fightin'' on a national holiday today, okay?" Tifara tried to calm the atmosphere around her. "Besides, you guys don''t wanna get in trouble with the authorities for fightin'', don''tcha now?" After David and Yulogia scanned their surroundings and spotted the police watching over the crowd, they closed their eyes and scratched the back of their heads with their blushed, embarrassed cheeks. "Yea, I guess, you''re right, Tifara," David agreed. "Maybe we should stop fightin'' now, would ya agreed, Yulogia?" "Yea, I guess so, David," Yulogia agreed as they went back to their business as usual. Tifara sighed out of joy when she heard that and continued throwing bread crumbs out of the bridge with her younger sister. "So, David." "Hm?" David now turned to Tifara. "How''s your uncle feelin''?" Tifara asked. "Is he gettin'' better already?" "Oh, yea. He sure is," David answered. "He should be healed enough to be discharged from the hospital sometime ''round this week soon." Tifara gasped excitedly at David. "That''s good to hear, David. Give praise to Elohim for that!" "Oh, you don''t have to bring Elohim in to that, y''know," David said, closing his eyes, waving his hands sideways. "Besides I don''t believe in Elohim''s existence anyway." Tifara and Yulogia gasped when they heard what came out of David''s mouth. "No way! You really believe that?!" Yulogia asked as she and her sister widened their eyes. "Yea¡I really mean that," David said, giving Tifara and Yulogia an annoyed look on his face. Tifara then frowned at him. "But why though?" "Because¡" David began to answer, turning his face away from the sisters. "I really don''t believe there''s no proof that He exists at all, nor even helps people. He''s jus'' created by power hungry humans wantin'' to control people''s lives, just like every other god in Adamah." So that''s why he doesn''t celebrate Rosh Shannah, Tifara thought as she continuously frowned at David. He jus'' doesn''t believe in Elohim. But why does he lack faith in Him in the first place? What makes him think this? Tifara looked up at the sky. Elohim, please help me get to the bottom of David''s lack of faith, she thought determinedly. I''ll help You restore his faith in Your justice. I''ll do it in my own heart. In Yeshua''s name, Amen. Tifara turned to David. "Yes, you''re right, David. People do misinterpret and use the Bible for their own selfish gain. That''s why I''ll help you discover what makes Elohim different from any other god here in Adamah, through research behind Biblical teaching and historical accounts." "Really?" David asked. Tifara closed her eyes and grinned at David. "I''m positive." "Okay, I''ll see what you got then." "Sure." After Tifara and Yulogia threw crumbs over the bridge and ran out of bread, they waved their good-byes at David and headed home for Rosh Shannah dinner. Announcement Letter Alright, I thank you reader for reading my first volume of Tifara and David. I truly appreciate that and may Elohim the Almighty bless you. I couldn''t be any happier and prouder than that so far. Unfortunately, my less satisfaction with the series'' direction overall and less people reading my content, I''m sorry to inform you that this series will be discontinued and I''ll be on hiatus from now on. But don''t worry, reader. There is hope after all. I''ll instead focus on fixing the plot, blurb and the cover art, using the same exact characters and topic under the new title Heart Connection instead of Tifara & David. I''ll be making one major change to Tifara & David''s relationship as well as the prologue. If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it. It will take a long time for me to get that established properly. I''ll also brainstorm for my new series and complete volumes 1 and 2 for it. But don''t worry, I won''t make too many changes to the plot overall. Other than that though, the same characters will be back. Once I get that done and placed the chapters on there, I should be able to upload my brand new series and delete the old one, along with letting you guys know about it. I know this is sad for me to delete my old series and to go through these changes, but this is what I have to do for the Almighty Elohim. This is the series'' redemption moment after all. Anyway, it''s very fortunate that I have readers read my first volume of the old series and I couldn''t have done that without my fans at my side. I truly appreciate your strong patience, time and support of my precious time. Other than that, have a great day and have a great year. Peace!
