A Honest Admission
I have been writing this for little over a few months and every time I write it. I just feel dread, I don''t plan to end it but I plan to change it. Comparing this to my current projects is something I don''t like. For the next month''s or weeks I can''t I will be changing most of it.
It''s inconsistent unreadable and personally a incoherent rambling; I''ve always wanted my work to be best it could be and this isn''t my best. So I''ll change it the characters won''t change but the writing style will change to something better and more importantly enjoyable for me to do.

Chapter 1: The Prologue
¡°For men like me a good life isn¡¯t really true and for us being normal is a lie. I still remember when this all happened, although it has been 30 years since I saw Japan. I still remember everything. Even back then the name Kazuya Hotaru was a big thing sometimes things do not change.¡± ¨CKazuya Hotaru (1889)
It was a warm summer evening the trees are blooming and the excess of youth was all over but for 2 men this was quite the opposite, for them it¡¯s the climax of a political battle between the 2 political parties now they sit in a Roppongi Restaurant to fix the underlying issues.
¡°It sure is a warm evening Minister.¡± A man compliments the weather the other man visibly annoyed by his carefree behavior expedites his putting documents into his bag. The man looking very worried pleads to the other ¡°Mr. Hotaru please don¡¯t leave we still haven¡¯t talked about how we¡¯ll out maneuver the PM?!¡± The man pleads and begs the Minister to not leave. Hotaru shrugs off the plea of the man and when he starts to leave he receives a call from his Smartphone.
¡°Hello?¡± Hotaru receives the call. Hotaru wonders about the sudden call, its 10 at night shouldn¡¯t be people be asleep at this time.
The person on the other side phone answers ¡°It¡¯s Jun from the Intelligence Agency.¡± He insists to Hotaru.
Hotaru was surprised by his call; it must be important then. ¡°Jun?! What¡¯s the sudden call? It¡¯s like 10PM.¡± He inquired Jun about the bizarre call.
Jun finally getting to him alerts him about some sensitive news ¡°Sir Hotaru we¡¯ve been informed about an assassination plot against you!¡± He fervently warns Hotaru about the plot.

Unimpressed by the news Hotaru disregards the warnings ¡°Yeah¡ Yeah¡ It¡¯s just a scheme to threaten me nothing will happen. Anyway see you later.¡± He confidently assures Jun that nothing will happen and hangs up. His words he would regret later.
Having Hotaru hung up on him Jun gets his radio and shouts a command ¡°SECURE AND PROTECT HOTARU!¡± His command being affirmed teams rush to his location but this was too late.
The man overhearing the distressing news tries to persuade Hotaru ¡°Hotaru don¡¯t go you¡¯ll be killed!¡± The man persuades but ultimately fails to convince Hotaru. Hotaru leaves the table and says a message before leaving ¡°Don¡¯t you worry Mr. Yamano I won¡¯t be killed.¡± Hotaru adds to Yamano before leaving the restaurant.
As Hotaru left the restaurant he felt the cool summer air surround him. He walks to his car when suddenly hears a yell ¡°Stop!¡± He glances to where the yell comes from and suddenly he feels an ache in in his head. Hotaru suddenly collapses to the sidewalk, still having his sight he sees blood coming from his head. He was shot, Jun was right after all he chuckles until he coughs up blood.
He was gone, He was dead, and this was his end. Hotaru understood this and spent the last moments of his life contemplating about his life. ¡°I never really got married huh¡¡± He thought to himself; even after all this he was a Minister, a Diet member and millionaire he still considered himself a failure. His intentions was corrupted by greed, well that¡¯s what he thought to himself. ¡°I never really enjoyed life.¡± Hotaru regrets as he hears the sirens of ambulances and police cars.
As his vision fades, the sirens became more louder and before his last breathe he omits his last words ¡°I wish I could¡¯ve changed the country.¡±
In what seemed like a century or decades he can¡¯t for what he seen, the pitch-blackness was the only thing he saw. And then he saw a light, he came closer to the light and his world turned black again.
In what was like a nightmare he suddenly wakes up in what looks like a hospital, He looked around it looked like a primitive hospital. ¡°Where am I?¡± He asked himself as he saw was a fictional land, It wasn¡¯t Japan though and that he was sure about.

Chapter 2: An Abrupt Introduction
Hotaru is shaken as he didn¡¯t expect that someone would speak Japanese; He utters some words in a quiet and nervous voice. ¡°I-I¡¯m Kazuya Hotaru, I am pleased to meet you Ms. Wilburg.¡± He says while still in confusion within the situation.
Ailbe replies politely. ¡°It¡¯s also a pleasure to meet you.¡± In the pressure of the situation. She commands the crowd to leave. The crowd leaves in disorganized fashion.
As the people left the room she turn back at Hotaru. Hotaru tries rationalize his current circumstances. ¡°They want something from me. No rational person or organization would revive a dead person.¡± He thinks to himself.
Ailbe starts explaining his current situation. ¡°As the nuisances are gone. Let me explain your current situation-You; Kazuya Hotaru have been transported to another world if you hadn¡¯t realized it before now.¡± She further explains to Hotaru. ¡°Yes, I have realized that but I do have a question.¡± Hotaru inquires to Ailbe.
She answers back. ¡°Yes-Please go ahead.¡± Hotaru curiously asks ¡°How can you speak Japanese? And quite good?¡± Ailbe scoffs at the question and continues to explain Hotaru¡¯s circumstances. ¡°If you remember what happened you were shot and killed if I am correct?¡± Ailbe reminds Hotaru. ¡°Yes, I was and what does it have to do with me getting transported into this world!?¡± A surprised Hotaru answers.
Ailbe confidently replies to his question. ¡°Well, Mr. Kazuya Hotaru. You¡¯ve been rewarded and given a very important role in the Kingdom. I will explain your role is and the other answers you have-After you change into clothes.¡± She says as she walks out of the room. Hotaru sees a pair of clothes in a box. A suit accompanied by a watch.

He wears his suit and walks out and is greeted by guards. One seems to be nervous and one meekly utters some words. He says in broken Japanese ¡°Follow us.¡± Hotaru reluctantly agrees and leaves the building into a crowded street bustling with horses, carriages and people walking doing their daily lives and business. Ailbe is seen waiting outside as Hotaru leaves the hospital. She¡¯s visibly looking at her watch.
Ailbe impatiently commands to Hotaru. ¡°It really took you that long to get changed-anyway get in the carriage we have to meet someone important.¡± Hotaru rushes and frantically gets in. The carriage slowly moves. In the carriage Hotaru asks questions that he didn¡¯t managed to ask. ¡°Who we¡¯re those people earlier?¡± Ailbe answers his question ¡°They¡¯re scientists and doctors; your teleportation has been the first in decades.¡±
Hotaru surprised says ¡°The first in decades?! That means I¡¯m not the only one that has been transported in this world?!¡± She answers quickly ¡°Precisely-Your teleportation is very much known to the nobility.¡± Hotaru adds. ¡°That¡¯s also is the reason how you can say Japanese?¡± Hotaru further asks to Ailbe.
Ailbe responds ¡°Yes, The teleportation of other people like you have made Japanese and other languages more accessible to scholars and the intellectuals.¡± Ailbe adds to conservation. ¡°And speaking of language. You don''t understand the language?¡± Ailbe asks to Hotaru ¡°Yes, I don¡¯t really understand the language.¡± Hotaru honestly replies.
¡°So for that reason. I Ailbe Wilburg is your formal and Official Translator.¡± Ailbe proclaims to Hotaru. ¡°Wait-You¡¯re my translator?¡± Hotaru questions with suspicion. ¡°Mr. Hotaru, I¡¯m your Official Translator, Secretary and Personal Aide.¡± Ailbe explains clearly.
¡°But-Why?¡± Hotaru questions her. ¡°Hotaru-we should talk about this later as we¡¯ve arrived.¡± Ailbe says calmly. ¡°Where are we?¡± He asks as leaps out of the carriage. ¡°The Ministry of Trade and Economy, Your new job.¡± Ailbe announces to Hotaru.
Chapter 3: A Simple Job
¡°The Ministry of Trade and Economy?!¡± Hotaru exclaims disbelief. ¡°That¡¯s why you were chosen, Your ability to manage a government has in the past have given you a number of accolades and recognition right?¡± Ailbe says. ¡°That may be true but am I really that important?¡± Hotaru questions her. ¡°In this world mass industrialization is happening across the continent and the entire world; Sir Hotaru I must very much insist that you¡¯re more important that think you¡¯re.¡± Ailbe insists.
A well-dressed man of medium stature approaches the pair. ¡°Ms. Ailbe, It would be easier to explain this to him inside.¡± Ailbe recognizes the man and answers. ¡°Sir Alfred, It¡¯s a pleasure to meet you.¡± The main assures her. ¡°Ailbe no need to say introductions; this is Kazuya right?¡± He asks. ¡°Yes that is him.¡± Ailbe politely replies.
¡°Hotaru, this is Alfred Gert. The current Minister of Trade and Economy.¡± Hotaru tries to reply. ¡°I¡¯m-m-m-m Kazuya Hotaru. I---It¡¯s a pleas-sure to meet you.¡± As he tries to introduce himself to the man. ¡°Kazuya there¡¯s no need to be nervous. Don¡¯t be worried only a few people have ever seen you.¡± Alfred says as calms Hotaru. ¡°Anyway. We should go inside and talk over a cup of coffee.¡± Alfred adds as he let the pair into the large building.
As they went into the large building they are greeted by a woman and then ushered into a small but quiet room. ¡°This coffee is really nice, it has been made beautifully.¡± Alfred comments as he compliments the coffee. ¡°I think we should talk about your roles and responsibilities Hotaru.¡± Alfred says he shifts his tone.
¡°What about my responsibilities?¡± Hotaru asks while drinking a cup of coffee. ¡°Well as you see I¡¯m the outgoing Minister and you¡¯re my successor in the Ministry.¡± Kazuya chokes on his coffee. ¡°WHAT! ME?! I will be the next Minister for the Economy!?¡± Hotaru exclaims with shock.
¡°That¡¯s why you were transported into this world.¡± Ailbe explains with an unfortunate look. ¡°But I¡¯m not qualified for this job in anyway?!¡± Hotaru tries to reason to the two. ¡°You don¡¯t need to worry as I¡¯ll be assisting you in your job and endeavors.¡± Alfred replies as he sips his coffee. ¡°Sir Hotaru, You¡¯ll be fine we are tasked to help you in anyway.¡± Ailbe says while assuring the bewildered Hotaru.
¡°In anyway, You say?¡± Hotaru says with a mischievous smirk. ¡°Kazuya not in that kind of way! You are really inappropriate in this topic.¡± Ailbe says while hitting Hotaru in the head. ¡°Like I was serious about that!¡± Hotaru says while chuckling. ¡°Actually Alfred I have a question for you.¡± Ailbe adds. ¡°Ailbe, Go ahead.¡± Alfred replies.
Alfred says. ¡°Where will you work after your time in the Ministry?¡± Ailbe questions. ¡°In the Royal Cabinet, I will be Head Economic Advisor to the King starting next month.¡± Alfred happily answers her question. Ailbe tenses up and looks at Alfred with shock and confusion. ¡°Already, Next month.¡± Ailbe says dumbfounded and nervous. ¡°Next month, Will be my last day in the Ministry.¡± Alfred responds. Hotaru exhales a sigh of relief as his job will not be instantly. ¡°Hotaru why are you in relief in all of this! You will be in charge of this thing next month?!¡± Ailbe asks Hotaru angered and loudly.

How about next Sunday?¡± Ailbe asks Alfred. ¡°That would be nice, Alright dinner next Sunday at the Grandiose Hotel.¡± Alfred agrees while he leaves the room.
¡°Uh¡¡. See you next Sunday Mr. Gert.¡± Hotaru shyly replies. ¡°Sir Hotaru, Shall we leave already?¡± Ailbe asks. ¡°Let¡¯s shall.¡± Hotaru agrees. Ailbe and Hotaru and they are met by a city of lights and life.
A brisk evening and lights around the city illuminate the place. ¡°This feeling¡¡ It¡¯s like the day I got shot.¡± Hotaru said under his breathe while he reminisce about the day he was killed. ¡°Sir Hotaru, Can you hurry up! We have to go to dinner!¡± Ailbe shouts to Hotaru. ¡°I¡¯m coming!¡± Hotaru says while getting in the carriage.
¡°Ailbe.¡± Hotaru says. ¡°Yes, What is it Sir Hotaru?¡± Ailbe replies. ¡°I don¡¯t really know anything about this world. How can I run this country if I have no clue about this world?¡± Hotaru asks very much concerned. ¡°About that. Sir Hotaru you¡¯ve been enrolled for a crash course in a University to learn about this world. Your lectures start tomorrow.¡± Ailbe informs Hotaru. ¡°That will be good, I can¡¯t wait to learn about this world. Hotaru excitedly says.
¡°I thought that you¡¯d be panicking or be nervous.¡± Ailbe strangely looks at Hotaru while answering. ¡°Ailbe I have to take this job seriously; this is a good opportunity to talk and other people and have more knowledge in this world.¡± Hotaru says while smirking. ¡°I¡¯m glad, that you¡¯re excited.¡± Ailbe says while smiling. ¡°You have a nice smile, Ailbe.¡± Hotaru compliments her. ¡°That¡¯s flattering Kazuya anyway we¡¯ve arrived at the place. Ailbe flatteringly replies.
Ailbe and Hotaru dismount the carriage. In their vicinity is a large estate. ¡°This is the restaurant?¡± Hotaru asks. ¡°No this is your new home, Sir Hotaru.¡± Ailbe explains to Hotaru. ¡°I thought we were go out and eat dinner?¡± Hotaru asks. ¡°We¡¯ve had a change of plans.¡± Ailbe says. ¡°Although I¡¯m tired already, It makes me to go to bed already.¡± Hotaru says while he yawns. ¡°Anyway Sir Hotaru, Goodnight.¡± Ailbe says. ¡°Yeah, Goodnight.¡± Hotaru says.
As they come into the large home and estate. They are greeted by the maids and the staff of the estate. Even before they can introduce themselves Ailbe interrupts them. ¡°To the all of you, the introductions will be tomorrow. We¡¯re already very tired.¡± Ailbe says softly looking visibly and tired and exhausted. ¡°Katherine could you usher Sir Hotaru to his room? He is very tired in his first day.¡± Ailbe kindly asks her. The maid agrees and says. ¡°Yes, Ma¡¯am.¡±
¡°Hotaru follow her to your room.¡± Ailbe tells Hotaru. ¡°Ok, sure.¡± Hotaru agrees. Hotaru is shown and ushered into his room. ¡°Sir Hotaru, If you need anything just call us.¡± The maid kindly says to him. ¡°Ok, Thank you very much.¡± Hotaru nicely tells her. The maid leaves the room and closes. Hotaru sighs and looks around his room. ¡°Finally, I¡¯m alone.¡± Hotaru says as he lays on his bed. ¡°Well, I¡¯m stuck in this world I should just make this my home.¡± Hotaru says while opening the window. ¡°This is a new world, with new possibilities and new dreams and aspirations. I might not have anything but it just means that I have a fresh new start and I take advantage of it.¡± Hotaru says as he goes to bed.
As for him this is a different world; with a new beginning and with a heavy duty and responsibility. Will he make his dreams come true or use it for his own advantage? His power and decisions will decide the course of the world and history.
Chapter 4: The Basics of Magic
Hotaru wakes upon a sunny morning. ¡°Ughhhh¡¡..¡± Hotaru groans while getting blinded by the light. He slowly looks around as he wakes himself up. A large room with a desk and chair and wardrobe. ¡°Oh yeah I live in this world now.¡± Hotaru says as he tries to recollect while slightly confused. A knock is heard on the door.
A voice breaks the silent the morning. ¡°Sir Hotaru, I¡¯m going inside.¡± The door slowly opens. ¡°Ailbe, Good morning!¡± Hotaru greets Ailbe. ¡°Good morning, Sir Hotaru. You have get up, you have to go the university today.¡± She timidly says pulling the sheets out of his bed. ¡°This early its 5AM. I thought this is school is for the aristocracy?¡± Hotaru asks while pulling back the sheets. ¡°It is one but schools start do start early Sir Hotaru.¡± Ailbe retorts. Ailbe pulls Hotaru out the bed. ¡°You¡¯re going to get up already!¡± Ailbe timidly says. ¡°Wait! I¡¯ll get up already.¡± Hotaru worryingly says. ¡°No, you are taking bath and eating breakfast!¡± Ailbe angrily answers. ¡°Katherine could you help me with Sir Hotaru?¡± Ailbe asks her.
After that fiasco Hotaru sits at the dining table eating breakfast. ¡°You didn¡¯t have to do that.¡± Hotaru says pouting. ¡°I didn¡¯t have a choice Sir Hotaru, You won¡¯t get up.¡± Ailbe stubbornly says. A maid walks to Ailbe and whispers some words to her. ¡°Oh that I¡¯ll do that now. Call the others.¡± Ailbe says. The maid goes back to the kitchen. ¡°What was that?¡± Hotaru asks. ¡°Sir Hotaru, I¡¯ve to introduce you to the staff.¡±
Ailbe says while eating a toasted bread with jam. The kitchen door opens as a group of staff goes in the room. ¡°This is the staff for the estate.¡± Ailbe explains. ¡°This is Katherine the Head Maid and the Steward for the estate; this is Emma the head of the laundry; This is Klara the head of cleaning and this is Lily the head of gardening.¡± The maids say in the in same time. ¡°It¡¯s nice to meet you Sir Hotaru!¡± ¡°It¡¯s a pleasure to meet you as well.¡± Hotaru calmly replies.
¡°Next is the other staff. This is John and Connor the chefs and this Fredrick and Angelo the chauffeurs.¡± ¡°Sir, it¡¯s nice to meet you.¡± They say in collectively. ¡°It¡¯s nice to meet you all! I¡¯m Kazuya Hotaru.¡± Hotaru retorts. ¡°It would be rude of me to interrupt but you¡¯re finished with your breakfast Sir Hotaru.¡±
Ailbe asks. ¡°Yes, I¡¯m finished. Why do you ask?¡± Hotaru says. ¡°Then we should get going then.¡± As they stand up from their chairs; Katherine escorts the pair outside the manor.
In the driveway one of the carriages and a chauffeur is waiting for them. They go inside the carriage, as the carriage moves Ailbe looks at Hotaru.
¡°Sir Hotaru your tie is not tied properly!¡± Ailbe adds while fixing Hotaru¡¯s clothes. ¡°Ailbe you don¡¯t have to do that!¡± Hotaru says while getting flustered. ¡°Sir, You don¡¯t have to worry about anything this my job.¡± Ailbe reassures Hotaru.
As their conversation ends, The carriage stops and a man opens the carriage door. It reveals a stunning work of architecture. A university built of brick, glass and steel, A building marked of progress and wealth. Luther University, The most prestigious school in the country.
Both Ailbe and Hotaru steps out the carriage as a man approaches. ¡°Ailbe it is nice to meet you again!¡± As he hugged Ailbe with excitement. ¡°Professor it has been awhile.¡± As she greets the man happily. ¡°Hotaru, This is Professor Francis Campolini. The head of the Legal department of the university.¡± Ailbe formally introduces the both of them. ¡°Professor it¡¯s nice to meet you.¡± Hotaru says while shaking his hands. ¡°It¡¯s also too.¡±
¡°Now that we¡¯ve introduced each other.¡± I should take my leave then. Ailbe says while patting the back of Hotaru. ¡°I see then, Well¡¡ See you then.¡± Campolini says while he mutters under his breathe. ¡°AILBE WHY DID YOU HAVE TO LEAVE WITH THIS GUY I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT TO DO! You fool!¡±
As the carriage pulls away from sight an awkward silence fills the two men as they try to create a conversation. ¡°So, What do you think about the university?¡± An awkward Campolini asks. Even before Hotaru can give an answer. A voice shatters the ice in-between the two men. ¡°Professor what are doing here?¡± A female voice asks. The Professor¡¯s silence turns into in a confident gentleman. ¡°Anne! You just came at the right time.¡± An excited Professor says. He continues by saying ¡°Anne could you help with this problem I have?¡± ¡°Ailbe dropped off him, The future minister of the economy. Could you lend he a hand in this, I beg of you.¡± He pleads to her. ¡°Alright, I¡¯ll do this for Ailbe.¡± She says to a begging Campolini.

She introduces herself to Hotaru. ¡°So I¡¯m Anne Smith the head researcher of the Magical Studies department of the university.¡± Hotaru introduces himself likewise. ¡°I¡¯m Kazuya Hotaru, It¡¯s a pleasure to meet you likewise then.¡± ¡°I do have a question for you.¡± Anne replies. ¡°Sure go ahead.¡± Hotaru casually answers. ¡°What do you and Ailbe have to do with each other?¡± Anne asks with interest. ¡°She is my translator and assistant.¡± He answers in a curious tone. ¡°I see then.¡± She replies while having question within herself. ¡°I think we should show you around?¡± The professor quietly adds. Both turn to him and nod in agreement. ¡°I think we should then.¡± Anne agrees. ¡°I do too.¡± Hotaru agrees to the both of them. ¡°Shall we start then.¡± The professor ends.
A carriage stops in front of a large building. Two guards open the door of the carriage and a woman disembarks. ¡°Miss Wilburg; Sir Karlsen is waiting for you.¡± A guard says to her. ¡°I know and let me in.¡± Ailbe says to the lowly guard. The two large front doors of the building are opened and she is ushered into an office. ¡°Ailbe, we meet again.¡± A man greets her. ¡°We do meet again Friedrich.¡± Ailbe apathetically greets him. ¡°So how¡¯s Kazuya doing? Is he doing good progress?¡± Friedrich asks while pouring whiskey into glass. ¡°Do you want some?¡± He asks if she wanted any. ¡°No thanks.¡± Ailbe declines politely. ¡°He doing great progress.¡± She says the situation of Hotaru. ¡°Good; He must do learn quickly.¡± Friedrich says as he light a cigar.
¡°Friedrich. I know this is crucial but it be hard rush him.¡± Ailbe sternly explains. ¡°We can¡¯t do much if it takes much time. Friedrich we shouldn¡¯t have put all our hopes on this single person that we transported from another world. She added.
¡°AILBE DO YOU NOT REALIZE OUR FUCKING SITUATION!!¡± Friedrich outburst into shouting. ¡°AFTER THE REVOLT OF 1834 THE ENTIRE GOVERNMENT IN IS A STANDSTILL!¡± Friedrich continues. ¡°NATIONALISTS AND DEMOCRATS ARE READY TO KILL THE GOVERNMENTS AT ANY MOMENT!!¡±Friedrich further adds. ¡°THE DEADLINE FOR THE CONSTITUTION IS IN 6 MONTHS; WE DON¡¯T HAVE THE TIME OR THE RESOURCES.¡± Friedrich shouts and cries.
¡°Ailbe. He is our only hope for this county to survive until the next decade....¡±Friedrich silently says while on the verge of tears. ¡°Ailbe; Can you please leave. I have to collect my thoughts¡.¡±He says while he drinks a bottle of whiskey. ¡°Understood; Thanks for the invitation.¡± A shaken and mortified Ailbe leave the drunk man alone.
¡°Fucking--- Kazu--ya Hotaru¡¡¡. D-O Not FAI¡ªL us¡¡¡.¡±A drunk man says until he passes out.
¡°Everyone please settle down!¡± As people crowed and shuffle in a full lecture hall. ¡°Please settle down!¡± Kazuya sits down in a seat. A woman writes in a large chalkboard. She writes M-A-G-I-C-1-0-1 in order. ¡°Hello! I am Doctor Anne Smith. The Head Researcher of Magical Studies in Leuthar University and this is Magical Basics.¡± She shouts to the entire lecture hall. ¡°As you know Magic is considered a mystical power only present in books and stories but that isn¡¯t the case as the prowess of modern technology have destroyed this belief.¡± She explains.
¡°This discovery have changed the scientific discovery have shattered all knowledge that have we gained in centuries as the stories of the old are and how these unknown forces have changed this world.¡± The doctor further explains.

¡°Ok sure then.¡± Hotaru happily answers. ¡°What is your relation t-¡°Even before Anne could finish her question a familiar voice penetrates the room. ¡°Hotaru and Anne! Ailbe greets the pair while coming down to the chairs. ¡°Ailbe! How has it been?¡± Anne greets Ailbe. ¡°Anne. I know that we haven¡¯t talked much recently but I swear I¡¯ll find the time.¡± Ailbe promises to her closest friends. ¡°You don¡¯t have to do that. I know that you¡¯re that busy.¡± ¡°Anne assures Ailbe as she hugged her. ¡°Really!¡± Ailbe says as her face lit with happiness and glee. ¡°Yes it is.¡± Anne says she pets her head. ¡°If that¡¯s the case then. I and Hotaru leave already.¡± Ailbe says to her close friend. ¡°Hotaru we¡¯re leaving!¡± She says to Hotaru. ¡°Have a nice day then Professor.¡± He says as a farewell to the Professor.¡±

Chapter 5: A Unforeseen Connection
3 days after the previous chapter.
[13th of June 1835 | 8:00AM] King¡¯s Square, Central Barline.
Hotaru walks in the city¡¯s large and busy boulevard. As he walks he goes to kiosk selling various items. He walks to the shopkeeper to buy items. ¡°Can I get a box of cigarettes, a box of matches and a newspaper.¡± Hotaru says to the shopkeeper as to purchase the goods. ¡°That¡¯ll be 2 crowns.¡± The shopkeeper says while giving him the items. Hotaru nods and gives the payment to the shopkeeper. ¡°Thank you and have a good day sir.¡± The shopkeeper says while Hotaru leaves.
As he walked along the boulevard along rows of shops and houses. Hotaru sees a coffeehouse and to his interest enters the caf¨¦. ¡°Sir; Welcome to Caf¨¦ Wilhelm. May I take you to your seat?¡± A man welcomes Hotaru. ¡°Of course.¡± Hotaru says as he is ushered to his table. ¡°Would I take your order?¡± The waiter asks Hotaru. ¡°Can I get a cup of coffee and what kind of pastry do you have?¡± Hotaru asks the waiter. ¡°We have dough nuts.¡± The waiter offered to Hotaru. ¡°I¡¯ll take that.¡± He replies to the waiter. ¡°Sir, I¡¯ll have it served soon.
Alone in the table Hotaru pulls out the cigarettes and the box of matches. He opens the box and pulls out cigarette and with a strike of a match; A fire is lit and is used to light a cigarette. As Hotaru puff his cigarettes a man comes and sits down near to his table.

A door screeches as it opens, a man walks inside. ¡°Friedrich; I have some news about Hotaru.¡± Alfred says to a Friedrich writing and signing in his desk. ¡°Alfred what is the news?¡± He says while continuing to sign documents. ¡°Halstedt has made their move and has contacted Hotaru.¡± A nervous Alfred declares to Friedrich. As he heard the news he suddenly stops his work; Friedrich put down his pen and leans back on his chair. ¡°It has started Alfred; The war has started.¡± Friedrich imparts in a serious but saddening tone. ¡°May god have mercy upon us all.¡± Friedrich muttered under his breathe.
Chapter 6: Leutharian Power Keg
[14th of June 1835 Barline Grand Hotel, Uptown District, Barline 6:10PM]

In a lively and busy tavern a man is waiting for someone. ¡°He should be arriving any minute now.¡± The man says to himself. The door opens and a man walks in; He is seen wearing a suit and a top hat.

Both agree and they are greeted and showed to their table.
¡°Sir what would like to have tonight?¡± The waitress asks. ¡°We¡¯ll have the standard course tonight.¡± Alfred orders food. ¡°Alright Sir. What would be your drinks?¡± The waitress asks Alfred once more. ¡°Red wine would be good.¡± The Alfred replies to the waitress.
¡°What are the courses?¡± Hotaru asks. ¡°The courses are four. An appetizer, a main dish, dessert and after meal tea.¡± Alfred explains to Hotaru. In the background waiters pour wine to their glasses. ¡°Oh I see.¡± Hotaru replies as he looks around the lavishly decorated hall. ¡°Alfred I have a question?¡± Ailbe gives a question to Alfred. ¡°What is it?¡± Alfred answers. ¡°Why were you late?¡± Ailbe asks. The first courses arrive at the table.

In the background the piano starts to play a melodic tone. ¡°This strong Kingdom has been in a disaster since the King agreed to a constitution.¡± Alfred begrudgingly says as he eats his food. ¡°I see then that¡¯s where I come to image right?¡± Hotaru asserts. The table became silent. ¡°Can I and Ailbe excuse ourselves for a moment?¡± Alfred excuses himself and Ailbe.
The pair walk to a secluded part of the Restaurant. ¡°Alfred! What is this about?! I was having a nice dinner!¡± Ailbe angrily questions Alfred. ¡°Halstedt has made contact with Hotaru.¡± Alfred whispers to Ailbe. ¡°Wha-.¡± Ailbe awes in shock. ¡°I don¡¯t what happened but it has made Hotaru suspicious.¡± Alfreds says with concern. ¡°Either way we alter our plans.¡± Ailbe says to Alfred.
The pair comes back to the table. ¡°Waiter!¡± Alfred calls a waiter. A waiter approaches and asks Alfred. ¡°Can I get the bill and can you serve desserts?¡± Alfred requests. The Waiter agrees and dessert is served. ¡°Dessert is Cucumber Ice Cream.¡± The waiter announces and gives the bill to Alfred.
30 Minutes Later.
¡°Hotaru how is this new life doing for you?¡± Ailbe asks Hotaru. ¡°It has been pretty well. Even though it has been a weird few days.¡± Hotaru replies as he looks outside of the moving carriage. ¡°A lot of things has changed.¡± Hotaru says as he reminisced about the past. ¡°Do you miss your past life?¡± Ailbe questions Hotaru. ¡°Not really.¡± Hotaru says with a slight smile. ¡°I see then.¡± Ailbe nods with a smile.
Chapter 7: History of Magic
[15th June 1835, Luther University, Barline]
A man knocks to the Faculty door. ¡°Who is it?¡± Anne asks. ¡°It¡¯s me Hotaru!¡± Hotaru calls back. ¡°Coming!¡± Anne says in a hurry. In a hurry Anne leaps out from her seat and opens the faculty door.
¡°Hotaru I didn¡¯t expect you here.¡± Anne says as she was somewhat shocked. ¡°Doctor. I would like a word you because after your lecture the previous week.¡± Hotaru proposes to Anne. ¡°Sure.¡± Anne agrees in intrigue.
¡°Come in come in.¡± As Anne invites Hotaru inside the Faculty room. ¡°Would you like anything to drink?¡± Anne offers ¡°No thanks.¡± Hotaru declines the offer. ¡°What do you want to know about?¡± Anne asks as she sat herself. ¡°I want to know about the history. I know this is a favor but please tell me.¡± Hotaru says as he pleads to Anne. ¡°I will you about it but please do not leak the information.¡± Anne with agrees hesitancy.

As Hotaru leaves the room Campolini enters the Faculty room. ¡°Did you and Hotaru do something?¡± Campolini asks with baffled looks. ¡°I and he talked about some things.¡± Anne answers with glee in her face. ¡°Oh I see then.¡± Campolini retorts relieved. ¡°I¡¯ll be a talking a smoke.¡± Campolini he calls out the Faculty.
¡°I should get another job.¡± Campolini says to himself.
Chapter 8: A King and His Country
[19th of June, Ramnin Estate, North Barline]
¡°Good Morning Ailbe!¡± A cheery Hotaru greets Ailbe. ¡°Good Morning to you too.¡± Ailbe politely greets Hotaru. ¡°Are you doing anything this day?¡± Hotaru asks Ailbe. ¡°Nothing really-Why?¡± Ailbe curiously answers back. ¡°Then follow me.¡± Hotaru fervently insists to Ailbe. Ailbe reluctantly agrees to Hotaru¡¯s request.
Hotaru exits the Manor with Ailbe behind him. As the both of them walk thru the boulevard surrounded by flush green trees and brick paths. In their travelling they stumble upon a park. ¡°Why are we in a park?¡± Ailbe asks. ¡°Just you wait.¡± Hotaru assures Ailbe.
As they enter the park. They are greeted by lush trees, shrubbery and oak benches. ¡°This place looks amazing¡.¡± Ailbe astonished as she gazes upon a breathtaking sight. ¡°Told you.¡± Hotaru confidently says to her. In walking around they encounter a bench near a pond. ¡°Do you want sit here for now?¡± Hotaru asks. ¡°Sure.¡± Ailbe agrees.
¡°So, why did you drag me out here?¡± Ailbe curiously asks. ¡°I just wanted to talk.¡± Hotaru answers her as he glances into the blue pond populated by ducks and birds.

¡°Well¡.. He¡¯s a very interesting character.¡± The king remarks as he exhaustedly hands back documents to him. ¡°And Franz call me by my real name, We¡¯ve known eachother for 5 years already.¡± The King insists to him.
¡°Ulrich, The tension within the government has gone to unstable levels.¡± Franz regrettably professes to the King. ¡°First of all sit down.¡± The King commands Franz. He obliges and sits down in the chair in front of him.
¡°Like I don¡¯t know what¡¯s happening in this country.¡± The King admits to Franz. ¡°The elites are divided into squabbling factions.¡± The King adds to his argument. ¡°I can very much agree with that Ulrich.¡± Franz agrees wholeheartedly to King¡¯s statement.

As he stands up he walks to his drinks cabinet and pours himself a glass of Bourbon. He sips his glass and thinks about the future. ¡°I have to do something to prevent from this country from collapsing.¡± He thinks to himself as he looks outside of the window.
Chapter 9: The Prelude
[20th of June, Klaudewits Opera House, Central Barline]
A man enters a door ornately decorated by carvings and brass handles. As the man enters the room, He is greeted by the smoke of cigars and a group men of bickering.
The man clears his throat and starts the meeting. ¡°Gentlemen, Settle down.¡± He calmly announces to the group. The men looks to him and one speaks
¡°Amano what is it? What does Gerd want from us?¡± A man visibly annoyed asks him. ¡°He doesn¡¯t want anything. Johann I did this in my own volition.¡± Amano answers to the man. ¡°Then what do you want?¡± Another man asks. ¡°An agreement.¡± Amano confidently say to the group.
¡°Are you kidding!?¡± Johann scoffs at the proposal of Amano. ¡°If that¡¯s what you want-I¡¯ll be leaving!¡± The other man furiously announces. ¡°I¡¯d recommend that you listen to me.¡± Amano suggests to him.
Johann settles the 2 men down and Amano starts laying out his plan. ¡°The up and coming Minister of Economy Kazuha Hotaru is very much keen in continuing the reforms made by Sir Alfred and I think all of us can have a say in this.¡± Amano puts forward his plan to the trio.
The group interested in the Amano¡¯s proposal whisper and talk within themselves. ¡°I think you and I we¡¯ve an agreement.¡± The man announces to Amano with a smirk. ¡°I know you Johann, Otto and Kristian can¡¯t deny this offer!¡± Amano happily proclaims.
The 2 men shake hands and Amano is handed a small glass of Bourbon imported from the Confederacy. ¡°CHEERS!!¡± Johann loudly proclaims as he raises his glass high. ¡°This matter is sorted for now.¡± A sigh of relief Amano felt as mumbled his words.
For now the Industrialists are satisfied but for how long?
[Ministry of Economy and Trade Headquarters, Government Quarter, Barline]
A man enters a room, as he opens the door there are 3 people sitting together. He places the tray of Coffee and Cakes besides them. ¡°Thank you for the food.¡± Alfred thanks the servant. The Servant gives the tray and excuses himself out of the room.
¡°So Otto what¡¯s our plan?¡± Ailbe presses Karlsen. ¡°I¡.. I don¡¯t know.¡± A distraught Karlsen answers back. ¡°She¡¯s right Otto-The inauguration is tomorrow and we must think about something.¡± Alfred serouisly urges Karlsen in the matter.
¡°I know! I know! I¡¯m just¡¡¡ Indecisive. Karlsen tries to reason with the both of them. ¡°How about both of you try to make ideas?!¡± A pressured Karlsen proposes to them. ¡°Sure.¡± Ailbe agrees ¡°Alrighty then.¡± Alfred agrees with Ailbe.
A person suddenly knocks at the door. ¡°WHAT IS IT?!¡± Ailbe shouts to her. ¡°Ma¡¯am it¡¯s a letter from the King!¡± The servant loudly announces to the group. The three stoically look at each other knowingly that this could work in their advantage.

Chapter 0.1: A Christmas Breakthrough

It was a cold winter morning for the city and people within it. Though it was Christmas Eve the markets and the streets were silent as only a few weeks before massive protests rock the city and the continent as a whole, as people try to heal the scars and the government scrambling to fix the ailing situation. A single house and the man inside it will change the fate of the world as a whole.
A man is laying down in an armchair near his fireplace when he hear a knock on his front door. He stands up and opens the door. He sees a young woman clad in a black coat holding a basket, ¡°Good afternoon Professor.¡± The woman greets the man.
¡°Ailbe come on in.¡± The Man welcomes the woman inside his home. She accepts his invitation and comes in hangs her coat in the coating rack.
¡°What is your reasoning for coming here? And happy holidays Ailbe.¡± The Professor asks her as sits back down into his armchair.
¡°Well¡.. It is Christmas and I¡¯m coming home for my family.¡± Ailbe answers as she sits down in the sofa.
¡°Professor I have some items from the capital.¡± Ailbe presents the basket to the Proffesor.
¡°Thanks for the gifts Ailbe.¡± The Professor thanks her as puts aside the basket beside him.
Ailbe asks the Professor a question in a very serious tone. ¡°So the project how is it going?¡± She asks.
¡°Well¡. it will be complete very soon.¡± The Professor honestly answers back.
¡°The next time you will any news will be the news about its completion.¡± The Professor confidently assures Ailbe of any worry.
¡°If that¡¯s the case I¡¯ll take my leave then.¡± Ailbe thanks him. Ailbe stands up goes to the front door and puts on her coat.
Ailbe before she leaves she says one last word to the Professor. ¡°And Professsor Happy Holidays!¡± Ailbe says farewell to the man.
As Ailbe closes the front door, The Professor opens a drawer near his front door. He takes out a document named ¡°Hotaru¡±; The Professor brings it to his armchair and starts reading it.

Description: Mr. Hotaru was born in Yokohama City in the 29th of November. The son of a Lawyer and Heiress of a Candy company, He was the 2nd of 3 children. Mr. Hotaru was groomed by his parents into politics in a young age and by 1994 he graduated with a doctorate in Economics in Tokyo University. During 1995 he joined the NDP as an assistant to a Diet Minister.
In 1998 he was appointed as a Junior Executive in the Economic Planning Agency. As part of the 2001 Japanese Central Government Reform the Economic Planning Agency was merged into the Cabinet Office; this appointment gave him contact to former Prime Minister Akayama and his Cabinet. His connection to the cabinet lead him to be instated as the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
By 2004 Mr. Hotaru was one of the rising stars in the NDP. He later became a senior member of the Centrist Reformist faction of the NDP. This new found political clout won him a seat in the House of the Representatives during the 2005 General Elections where he ran as a Representative of the 2nd District of Kanagawa Prefecture.
Mr. Hotaru¡¯s position as a Diet member gave him the ability cement his political presence within the NDP and because of his connections to the former Prime Minister he landed the job as the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry.
He served as the Minister of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry until 2014 where Mr. Hotaru was appointed as the Minister of the Ministry of Finance. His political power within the party to the point that he was the one of the leading candidates for the 2017 Snap Election. Mr. Hotaru declined the offer and became the Cabinet Secretary to Prime Minister Togaki after the 2017 Elections. He was Cabinet Secretary until the JAXA scandal forced Prime Minister Togaki in 2022, He spent the 2 next years as the NDP president after the JAXA scandal forced the Party Leadership to resign.
He announced that he will running for the 2025 Elections. This was met with great response from the general populace but the response with the party was mixed at best. All of this didn¡¯t matter as in the 26th of August he was assassinated by an unidentified lone gunman.
Mr. Hotaru¡¯s rise to power was subtle and invisible to the public eye, although this was because of his history with bribery. Much isn¡¯t known about his life, Most of the information that we have is publicly known but more that he is a complete mystery in the realm of personalities and politics.

As he finishes his work to revive a dead man the world turns into a different direction as this man will definitely change the history books.
