《Magic System Ideas》 Version 1 Beginning with the most basic, we understand that our reality, so to speak, is constituted from fields of certain particles that we identify with magnitudes, electromagnetism, gravity, etc. And we also understand that what we call force is the interaction of that field with a certain element. To understand this let''s think of a magnet, the magnet in a magnetic field produces a magnetic force to attract metallic objects towards it due to the magnetic field that it itself creates or that is found in the earth (a compass follows this method of operation). So this same concept of field and force applies towards what we call Mana. Mana is a field that surrounds us and that we can use by applying it on some element or by giving it the characteristic of some kind of element. Thanks to its malleability and possible interactions mana can take different forms depending on how we handle the "clay". The molding of this "clay" and shaping it into the desired element, fire, water, electricity, etc; is what we call magic. The interaction of the molded mana is the force exerted by the mana field and is what we most commonly know as spells or magic. Understanding more or less the basic concept of mana, we have to understand also how we can shape this mana or directly feel it. In order to explain this we have to turn to another type of energy, which we call primordial energy or main energy. This main energy is what marks what each thing is, that is why even when someone has a healing factor (a hydra, for example) and a piece of skin is cut off it does not regenerate another one just like it from that piece of skin, because the main energy makes that piece of skin not a point of regeneration of the hydra as it would be its neck. This primordial energy that marks how things are is also moldable from physical events, for example food. When you make a steak it goes from being a "piece of meat" to being "food" and therefore the type of interactions it makes is different. This primordial energy rather than physical interactions has interactions with fields such as mana. And now comes the point of the question, even knowing that the primordial energy exists and that it marks things as they are, as this gives us allows us to give mana certain characteristics such as it can revive the dead or burn someone as fire. Well, when a living being is called alive by the main energy and therefore has vital energy (another type of secondary energy with respect to mana), this living being is born with something we call mana channels. These mana channels do not exist in a physical sense, therefore we cannot see them when we dissect someone, however, they exist in a metaphysical sense and is what governs the amount of mana and the type of mana we can manipulate. These mana channels due to their width can give way to different types of mana conductors. People with poorer quality mana channels are worse mana conductors, and therefore will never be able to control mana efficiently. However, although this conductivity can be increased with different rituals that I will not explain, the mana channels can also be extended to result in a greater amount of mana, and it is important to note that even if you have a large amount that does not ensure a better efficiency in the use of this, this is important for later. Thanks to mana channels, people can accumulate mana in their own body and then use it by giving it characteristics that fulfill their purposes, however, to give it these characteristics people unconsciously make the mana interact with the main energy to shape the mana. And this mana then follows the rules that follow the characteristics given by that form that the "clay" takes. This narrative has been purloined without the author''s approval. Now understanding the concept of mana and how we can cast and accumulate mana we can also talk about how people who use mana as a tool, also called wizards, are classified. Another important remark in this information is the division between mage and wizard, mages are aware of what they do and keep meticulous notes of their experiments with mana and their interactions; wizards just go around trying stupid things and pulling magic "out of their ass" resulting in ineffective spells and not corresponding to the level they should be. To classify wizards we use the amount of mana they contain from 1st level to 10th level, and only that, they are not evaluated by the spells or the efficiency of these, but by the amount of mana. This may seem silly but it is important because for example a 5th level mage does not have to cast 5th level magic, he can cast 3rd level spells due to the inefficiency of his spells or lack of knowledge. This way of classifying mana is the most recognized by the magic community, however there are places where different systems are preferred based on age or knowledge or even meritocracy.
