《How I Became Immortal》
Chapter 1
Yuna''s petite figure knelt down on the wooden platform as the executioner forced down on her weak shoulder. The hordes of civilians surrounded the platform with a look of disdain on their faces. None of them understood her. She could feel the hatred emanating from the crowd below. She frantically searched for the man she devoted her life to, her husband.
She discovered a man in the distance. His familiar figure slowly approached her. On closer inspection, there was a petite woman clutching unto his muscular arm. The woman¡¯s long lashes fluttered like a butterfly as her tender voice could be heard. Her long white gown portrayed a young maiden of her innocence and purity. On first impression, she resembled a white flower that was fragile yet dazzling. She had a certain charm about her that brought the men to their knees.
Both men and women in the crowd, gazed at the picturesque scene of the couple emerging before them. The man was none other than the emperor of their kingdom. He stood majestically before the crowd as he walked up the stairs to the wooden platform. The woman naturally followed behind him like an innocent child.
Yuna felt her stomach turn as she watched this scene. The man she desperately loved was standing before her with another woman in his arms. His long luscious black hair flowed naturally with the wind. His eyebrows were thick, and his eyes and lips reflected the elegance of an emperor. She felt her heart twist as he embraced the trembling woman by his side. He whispered sweet nothings into her ear with a soothing voice.
Yuna¡¯s face scrunched up into a scowl as a tear threatened to fall from her bitter eyes. What had she done to deserve this? Her love for Minho was limitless. She had done everything in her power to be his pillar of support. He wouldn¡¯t be in that position if it weren¡¯t for her assistance.
As for the woman that sat next to him, she was her cousin, Haemi. Haemi was always the sweet, benevolent sister that always listened to her and supported her. Yuna felt betrayed by the two people she cared about most in her life. She struggled to get up from her position. The executioner was strong, and it took her some effort to get away from his clutches. She became so distraught that her voice came out hoarse and unruly, ¡°Minho, why are you doing this? I thought you loved me. Why is she here with you?¡±
Haemi saw me struggling to escape, her lips curved up into a smug grin. When she turned to face Minho, her face changed into a delicate beauty. Tears surprisingly formed in the corners of her eyes as she began wailing into his chest. Minho swiftly gave Yuna a death glare as he soothed his lover in his arms. He shouted, ¡°Guards! Tie her down this instant!¡±
The guards promptly followed the emperor¡¯s orders and tied her hands and legs to prevent her from escaping. Minho stood before the crowd as he projected his voice throughout the town. ¡°Queen Yuna has been found guilty of many charges! She is solely responsible for causing the massacre of thousands of people in our country. Her greed for power and money has caused corruption within our nation. It is the duty of I, the emperor, to uphold justice for our people. I hereby declare that Queen Yuna and her relatives of 5 generations to be sentenced to death by decapitation!¡±
The crowd roared in anger as they threw rocks at Yuna. One rock hit her on the forehead. Blood seeped down the side of her face. She couldn¡¯t tell whether it was blood or her tears. What had she ever done to deserve all of this? She lived her life as a good person. Whenever she saw a homeless person on the street, she''d give them food, clothes, and money. She wasn¡¯t involved in politics at all. She was happy with only being by Minho¡¯s side as his wife. Why was she being framed and accused of something she hadn''t done?

As she looked up at her former lover, Minho, she realized those warm loving eyes were no longer there. Her raspy voice called out to him.
"Why are you doing this to me? Didn''t you love me? I''ve never done anything to harm anyone. Why won''t you believe me?"
Minho scoffed, "Love you? In your dreams. The one I love is your precious cousin, Haemi! She is way more beautiful than you are. She will never be like you! I just let you believe that I loved you just so I can become crown prince. If it weren''t for you being born as the general''s daughter, I wouldn''t have even looked at you. You should be thankful that I''m giving you a quick death."
None of the crowd heard his words because they were too focused on shouting in rage and fury. She became the scapegoat for their crimes. The loving couple had planned this all along! Who was this man and why hadn¡¯t she noticed that he was different from her expectations? He was supposed to be sweet, caring, and affectionate. The person she had fallen in love with was a sham. She wasted all her efforts on a scumbag that only viewed women as playthings. The crimes that she was charged with were done by this stupid couple. If she ever gets the chance to relive this life, she¡¯ll make sure to get her revenge. She¡¯d make both of them suffer a life worse than hell.
Yuna''s eyes flared with anger! "I''ve spent all these years supporting you and this is how you repay me? I should¡¯ve never loved you. How could you betray me like this? Weren¡¯t we going to grow old together and have kids? What about all those times that you¡¯d tell me you loved me?¡±
She began bawling her eyes out as she struggled to continue her pitiful speech, ¡°I''m glad you''re with Haemi! Both of you are a match made in heaven! She''s got all those men hanging around her. Do you think she isn¡¯t involved with any of them? You¡¯re wrong! She¡¯s been with all of them.¡±
Yuna pointed at Haemi and the group of men that were in the crowd admiring her figure. The crown prince was stupid enough to not realize that all the male supporters she had were men she had slept with. His gaze landed on Haemi at my words.
Having heard what I said, Haemi responded confidently, "How can that be true? I lost my virginity to the crown prince. I''m innocent! She''s just accusing me because she wants to ruin our happiness." Fake tears streamed down her cheeks. Only Yuna could see the smile in her eyes. How did she not notice that Haemi was so cunning and deceptive? Minho was enraged by the false accusations coming out of Yuna''s lips.
"Guards! I command you to cut off this sl*t''s tongue! She dares to falsely accuse my queen!" The guard that stood next to her, grabbed her chin, and forced her mouth open. He swiftly used a dagger to remove her tongue.
Yuna coughed out blood as she felt the throbbing pain in her mouth. Her vision became blurry and her body lost all its strength. She gave up on trying to escape. She felt her heart crumble into nothing. Her fight was over and all she had to wait for was the complete nothingness that awaited her. Minho yelled once more, ¡°COMMENCE THE EXECUTION!¡± She didn¡¯t even bother to look at them any longer.
The executioner waved the sword in the air as if it were dancing. Yuna felt the wind from the momentum of the sword. She looked up at the sky in hopes that she¡¯d finally be able to rest in peace. All her efforts were gone to waste and she vowed that if she were given another chance, she would make them pay. The sword rapidly came down on her neck and a thunk was heard. The crowd roared in applause.
Haemi¡¯s facial expression differed greatly from what she felt in her heart. She was overjoyed with the success of her plan. She was able to steal the position that she had always coveted. She successfully took everything away from Yuna. Haemi had always hated the fact that her cousin had a hero for a father and a future king as a fianc¨¦. She didn¡¯t like the fact that Yuna got everything easily while she had to struggle to get what she wanted. Now she had no one standing in her way. She has become empress!
Yuna felt her soul leave her body. She was looking down at the execution from an eagle-eye point of view. She could see her own body there on the stage. The couple rejoiced over her death while the crowd cheered for their new empress. Yuna suddenly felt a vacuum sucking her soul into the sky. She struggled to remain on earth, as the vacuum forcefully took her away from the scene.
Chapter 2
Yuna¡¯s eyes fluttered open to a piercing light that caused her eyes to water. She slowly began walking towards the light. The light flowed out through the elegant doors that led to somewhere mysterious. Are these the doors to heaven? Where was this?
She pondered for a moment, before trusting her instincts. Her instincts told her that the light usually meant good things. So, she followed her instincts and went through the door. While walking for a while she noticed clouds under her feet that were so thick that they were no where close to transparent as she thought it would be.
She was so focused on the clouds that she didn¡¯t notice an enormous pedestal in front of her. She stumbled into the pedestal that was attached to giant marble white stairs. The stairs were enormous to the point that Yuna looked like a tiny ant.
Before she could figure out how to get up those stairs, a tiny bit of cloud detached from the floor and flew towards her. The cloud lifted her up into the air and began rapidly flying towards the top of the stairs. She couldn¡¯t help but stare in wonder at herself flying across the giant sky.
At the very top of the stairs, sat a man as enormous as a giant. He sat on a chair that was meant for kings. He was extraordinarily beautiful even though he had long white hair. Not that white hair is a bad thing. He resembled god so much that it almost felt like hearing a choir of angels singing in the background.
The cloud slowed down and began to expand beneath her feet. It was sort of weird floating in the air like that, but it was an interesting experience. Yuna observed the man that resembled god and couldn¡¯t help but ask, ¡°Are you perhaps, God?¡± The man¡¯s attention landed on Yuna, causing him to flash an ethereal smile at her. His white garbs that covered his body swayed gracefully. It looked very unnatural because there was no wind. The wind must be coming from him.
There was also a golden glow that surrounded him. He embodied this warm atmosphere that brought a sense of calmness and peace. His reply came a bit late, but it was because he was admiring her like she was his daughter. ¡°You are correct. I¡¯ve been waiting for you. How was your journey here?¡±
Yuna didn¡¯t feel like she went through much of a journey to get to him. ¡°I didn¡¯t really do much. The cloud did most of the work.¡± God laughed, ¡°Not the journey after death. I meant the journey called life. How was your last life, my dear?¡± Yuna scrunched her eyebrows together trying to remember her last life. After a bit, she recalled everything that happened and how she died.
Yuna frowned, ¡°It wasn¡¯t that fun, seeing how I had to go in such a gruesome way. My head was chopped off and that was a horrifying experience. I can¡¯t forget how my two most trusted companions betrayed me in such a terrible way (Minho and Haemi).¡± God observed my expression curiously. ¡°Do you seek revenge for how they treated you?¡± I nodded, ¡°In honesty, I¡¯m not that sort of person, but yes I do want to get revenge. I¡¯m not usually violent, but I just feel like I didn¡¯t deserve any of this. The ones who deserve this is them.¡±
God said, ¡°You¡¯ve got a point there, but please give me a second, while I transform so that it¡¯ll be easier to communicate.¡± His body soon became transparent and it looked to be shrinking to her size. He cleared his throat suddenly and the air beside her changed. He was standing right next to her on the cloud that had expanded.

God spoke beside her, ¡°I wanted to praise you for living a good and moral life. I commend you for your efforts. Although it seems that you did experience a tragedy towards the end. I¡¯m deeply sorry for the pain you had to endure. I hope that this doesn¡¯t deter you from your righteous path.¡±
Yuna had suffered greatly before arriving here and that didn¡¯t stop her from letting God know how unfair it all was, ¡°God, why did I have to experience this? I feel that I can no longer continue living a moral lifestyle. I feel so angry and I want to harm the people that harmed me. An eye for an eye.¡±
Yuna felt the resentment and fury twist her guts as she remembered the painful memories. Her heart had been broken to the point of no repair. There was a darkness that lingered in her heart. She had always put in great efforts to help others. The betrayal had caused darkness to settle in the corners of her heart. God could clearly see that her past life had affected her in a detrimental way. She no longer had a heart full of purity and love. It was filled with hatred and resentment towards Minho and Haemi.
God gently patted Yuna¡¯s back reassuringly, ¡°My dear child, you must not fall into the darkness. You are meant for great things. Every man has their own journey, and this is a test of your will.¡± Yuna clenched her hands into fists. She couldn¡¯t forgive them so easily even if the person in front of her was god. Yuna admitted, ¡°I just can¡¯t forgive them. The pain they have caused me, seems irreversible. What am I supposed to do?¡±
God frowned, ¡°I know that its hard to forgive and let go, but eventually time will heal all wounds. Remember that the pain from a previous life is not meant to last forever.¡± Yuna nodded in agreement, ¡°I guess you¡¯re right, but where do I go from here? Do I just watch over them in heaven?¡± God shook his head, ¡°No, you will be given another chance at life, but it will have to be a new life in a different world.¡±
It didn¡¯t come as a shock to find out that she couldn¡¯t go back and get revenge. Maybe it was better this way. She couldn¡¯t do anything even if she were given another chance. Yuna finally concluded that she would just have to move on, but it was still unfair, ¡°I know that it was supposed to be a test, but don¡¯t you think it was a little too cruel? I don¡¯t think that I deserved any of it.¡± God pondered for a moment, ¡°Now that you mention it, I do think that I was being a bit unfair by sending you to a world that has failed to achieve a certain standard. That¡¯s why this world was graded as ¡®F¡¯.¡±
Yuna grimaced at the grade, ¡°Why would you send me there in the first place?¡± He chuckled, ¡°It¡¯s all a part of the plan, so don¡¯t bother about it too much.¡± Yuna could not force herself to comply. She felt like her life was a joke and regardless of whatever she thought, she¡¯d still end up with a cruel fate. ¡°I don¡¯t think that any of this is fair.¡±
God agreed, ¡°You¡¯re right. I may have been too focused on the testing that I didn¡¯t realize you would end up in such a tragic death. How about I give you a gift?¡± Yuna wondered, ¡°What kind of gift?¡±
God grinned in response, ¡°Now listen, Yuna. This ability is amazing, but it also has its bad traits. I am giving you picture perfect memory. You will be able to remember everything from your past lifetime to everything you have learned within mere seconds. I know that it¡¯ll be harder to forgive once you do have this ability, but it will also serve as a test to how you will overcome the darkness that has already settled in your heart. It is truly an amazing ability, but it can also be a burden. Living life with this ability can make the world so mundane. It will be quite taxing to remember every little detail. I hope that you¡¯ll like my gift to you as compensating for how unfair the last lifetime was.¡±
Hopefully, this next lifetime will go peacefully without a dramatic ending. Yuna probably wouldn¡¯t want to continue if she got stuck with the same fate of being betrayed. Not that she would trust anyone anymore after experiencing betrayal. She lost all hope in making friends or finding a lifelong lover.
God placed his hand on Yuna¡¯s forehead, and a majestic light shined down from the sky and onto her figure. She felt God¡¯s power in the air surrounding her. ¡°It won¡¯t be long until you arrive in your next lifetime. I¡¯m sorry that I had to send you so soon, but I want you to find out for yourself where you go and what type of life you¡¯ll be leading. It is not my place to force you to live a certain type of life, so it will be better for you to find out all the details when you get there. Goodbye, my dear. I hope that you will learn to forgive and forget those that have betrayed you and caused you harm.¡±
Yuna felt the molecules that made up her body slowly disintegrate. Her hands and body had turned transparent. She could feel her body vanishing. ¡°Wait! I still have so many questions. Don¡¯t send me away yet!¡± Yuna was ignored and the last thing she saw was of herself disappearing into thin air
Chapter 3
When Yuna regained consciousness, she could hear a woman cheering, "it''s a girl!" The woman had a surgical mask covering the bottom half of her face. She resembled a ninja, but her clothes were too bright to be considered a ninja. She assumed that maybe it was normal to dress this way in this world. Yuna looked around and noticed a random metal box that kept making odd sounds. She had never heard anything like it. The ninja lady gently passed Yuna over to her mother.
Yuna¡¯s mother cradled her in her arms while gently stroking her hair. She didn¡¯t have much hair, but it felt nice. Yuna gazed into her mother''s eyes and felt the warm sensation of a protective mother. She never had a mother figure in her previous life and so this feeling squeezed at her heart. Tears began to fill her bitter eyes. She was thankful to god for letting her experience a new life.
Her father came rushing through the doors with the same outfit as the ninja. As soon as he saw the child in his beloved''s arms, he couldn''t help but feel extreme joy and content. Her father¡¯s voice disturbed the quiet atmosphere with his obnoxious and lively voice, "I can¡¯t believe it! It¡¯s a girl! Honey, what should we name her? She looks just like you. I''m so glad she doesn''t look like me!"
Yuna''s mother pondered for a while before making her decision. "How about we name her Yuna? I just feel like that name resonates with her. I don¡¯t know why, but I just feel like she was destined to have Yuna as her name. Don¡¯t you think so? ¡°
Her husband gleamed, "Yuna sounds like a fantastic name! I can''t wait to take her home and spoil her!" His wife glared at him, "Don''t you dare spoil our daughter! If she becomes a lazy good for nothing, I will have no one else to blame but you!" Her husband put on his best ''don''t blame me I''m just being a doting father'' smile. His wife couldn''t help but shake her head in annoyance. This man is going to spoil her rotten.
Yuna watched the couple bickering at each other and couldn''t help but laugh. ''My parents happen to be two idiot lovebirds that don¡¯t know a thing about parenting, but at least I¡¯ll know that they¡¯ll love me unconditionally as their child.'' It¡¯s better than what she went through in her previous life. She didn¡¯t get half as much attention as she did with her new parents.
***************************************************
Yuna spent the last 5 years getting used to the modern world. She was amazed by all the high-tech objects that weren''t in her previous lifetime. Who would''ve thought that there were boxes that flew in the sky and boxes that humans could get into and travel from point a to point b? She was determined to figure out how all these things were created.
Yuna was too busy trying to learn new things to realize that she had blown her cover too soon. Her parents were astounded by how fast she was learning everything. They noticed that she learned things much quicker than most children. They couldn¡¯t understand how she was able to memorize anything and everything. She could recall any information that she came across without any effort.
Her parents were planning on spending a long time teaching Yuna basic words and numbers with flashcards, but that only became a one-day thing. As soon as her mother took out the flashcards and flipped through each one, Yuna had already memorized everything within seconds. Her parents soon discovered that she had picture perfect memory.
Her father bought a bunch of storybooks thinking that Yuna would grow up reading them repeatedly till almost all of them were worn out. He didn¡¯t expect to find out that Yuna had memorized all the words after one time. Yuna felt bad after seeing his disappointed expression, so she chose to repeatedly read the same storybooks over and over.

Yuna¡¯s parents made the decision to hire a tutor after learning about their daughter¡¯s ability. She was way too smart to go without a teacher. It became obvious that their daughter would become someone important in the future.
As the years went by, her parents began to worry about their daughter. She wasn¡¯t like most children. Most children would spend their time playing and experiencing childhood, but their daughter usually spent her time isolated in the study. On multiple occasions, they would invite other families in hopes that she would make friends with kids her age. To their dismay, Yuna never got along with anybody. She was such a young and talented girl, but she wasn¡¯t so great at socializing. They were worried that she would grow up to be alone.
Yuna was way ahead of her peers at the age of 7. She was so infatuated with chemistry and mathematics, that she spent her weekends solving equations instead of spending time with friends. Her peers began to shun her because of her loner wolf vibe and some of the kids began to make fun of her. Yuna didn¡¯t think too much of it because she had experienced worse. Little kids that bullied her were nothing compared to what Minho did to her.
***************************************
At 22 years old, Yuna graduated college with a PHD in engineering. Over the years, her thirst for knowledge was never quenched and she felt that her time was too short to obtain all the knowledge in the world. There were still too many things she didn¡¯t know and that kept her motivated to continue learning, even after she got her PHD.
She was lucky to be able to obtain so much information in this world. Back in her past life, women were not given the same rights as men. She only had a limited amount of knowledge as an ancient woman, but now she had all the information through the internet. All the things she was curious about, were at the tip of her fingers.
After obtaining her PHD, Yuna decided to start her own engineering company from the ground up. She spent most of her days slaving away at her company and that paid off. Her company became a success, and she became famous for her innovative ideas and products that were out of this world.
Yuna received so much attention from the public that she grew uncomfortable of the fame. There were always people that recognized her wherever she went. She could¡¯ve used that as an opportunity to create connections with people, but instead she chose to isolate herself from everyone. She would ignore everyone regardless of how kind and understanding they were.
Most of these people only wanted to get to know her because of what she had and not because of who she was. Even after all these years, Yuna couldn¡¯t get herself to trust anybody with all her heart, excluding her parents. While most people were busy trying to start a family, she was busy running a company.
Her parents tried to get her to go out on multiple blind dates in hopes of finding a husband for her, but it never worked out. Those poor men left the table dissatisfied and angry every single time. Yuna vowed to never love again and she made sure of it.
************************************************
Yuna became distraught with grief when her parents passed away of old age. Yuna couldn¡¯t understand how both of them could go together. After her mother died, her father followed soon after. She had read about this peculiar cause of death called the broken heart syndrome; also known as Takotsubo Cardiomyopathy. It¡¯s known to be similar to a heart attack, but it¡¯s caused by the emotional stress of losing someone important. Her father passed away from takotsubo cardiomyopathy.
The passing of her parents was extremely harsh on Yuna, that caused her to isolate herself even more into her work than normal. All those years were spent on knowledge and discoveries, but none of that seemed to matter. She had no one to spend the rest of her life with. Her parents were gone and all she had left was the company she built up.
She was extremely rich and successful, but she had no one to inherit her wealth. The only thing she was left with was regret. She let Minho and Haemi get the best of her even in this life. She could¡¯ve chosen to move on and meet new people, but she failed miserably. All she had left was her success and no one to share it with.
Towards the end of her life, she concluded that she would never live her life thinking about Minho ever again. Just because he ruined her first life, doesn¡¯t mean she should let him ruin all her other lives. Her past lifetime no longer bothered her. Those two evil people will long be specks of dust in the vast universe. She didn''t need to seek revenge, nor did she have to waste her energy thinking about them. Life was forever to her and one insignificant lifetime meant nothing to her.
She decided long ago that the past was meant to stay in the past. She only regretted that towards the end of her life, she didn''t have a single person to share her happiness and success with. She will have another chance in the next lifetime. She closed her eyes and let out her last breath.
Chapter 4
"Welcome back!" God exclaimed with joy. "I''m so proud of you! You''ve accomplished so much in that world." Yuna sighed, ¡°I didn¡¯t think my 2nd lifetime was that great.¡± He frowned at my negative response, ¡°Why not? You helped so many people with your amazing inventions and you inspired so many kids during your stay.¡±
Yuna didn¡¯t remember interacting with any kids, ¡°I did?¡± God flashed his omnipotent smile at her, ¡°Of course. You didn¡¯t speak to them personally, but your work has inspired many. Not just kids, but also adults.¡± Yuna wasn¡¯t used to flattery, ¡°I didn¡¯t do much.¡±
God poked her arm playfully, ¡°Come on, stop being so humble. I was shocked to find out that you were capable of so much more than what I expected.¡± Yuna questioned, ¡°And what did you expect?¡± He grinned, ¡°I thought you would be like most. I thought you would use your ability for your own gain.¡± She glowered at him, ¡°You thought I would fail? Also, why do I feel like you gave this ability to other people as well?¡±
God desperately tried to explain himself, ¡°I didn¡¯t think you would fail, I just thought that you would live your life a little differently than what I thought. I didn¡¯t know you would be so interested in studying. You weren¡¯t like that in your first lifetime. You seemed to enjoy more girly stuff. Also, I did give this ability to other people.¡± Yuna scoffed, ¡°I can¡¯t believe this. I thought that you bestowed a special gift only to me, because you felt bad about what I went through during my first lifetime.¡±
God laughed nervously, ¡°I did feel bad, but I never told you that only you were getting the gift. There is innumerable amount of people in this world and some of them were bound to get this gift. Haven¡¯t you seen or heard about other people that had perfect memory?¡± Yuna agreed, ¡°Yes, I have heard of them, but I didn¡¯t think it was a gift like mine.¡±
He sighed, ¡°It technically isn¡¯t like yours. You have perfect memory forever, but these people have perfect memory only in that lifetime. I don¡¯t usually give this gift to people forever because it can be tough on some people. Being immortal isn¡¯t all that it¡¯s cracked up to be. People can go a little crazy after experiencing multiple lifetimes with this ability. It¡¯s mainly because of how they choose to use the gift. Unlike you, they want to use it for self-gain. I¡¯ve seen many that used the gift to cheat their way through life. I was proud to know that you used this gift to change the world for the good and not for the bad. I also believed that you would use your best judgement to use the gift wisely.¡±
Yuna felt pleased with his explanation. It somewhat explained why he chose to give the gift to her. He must¡¯ve been testing her again. She couldn¡¯t help but wonder if God would test her throughout all her lifetimes and if it would ever end. ¡°If what you say is true, don¡¯t you think I would go crazy too? I feel like I would probably go mad from boredom mostly.¡±
God pondered for a moment before responding, ¡°I don¡¯t think I should be telling you anything about what will happen in the future. You¡¯re still being tested, remember?¡± Yuna groaned, ¡°Why? I¡¯ve done so well this whole time. Can¡¯t I get a little sneak peak of what my future will be like? I just want to know if I go crazy.¡± God roared with laughter, ¡°You¡¯re so funny. You¡¯re just going to have to wait.¡±

Yuna resigned to her fate, ¡°Fine. I guess I could wait.¡± Since she wasn¡¯t going to immediately get an answer for the distant future, she still wanted to know what type of world she would be reincarnated into next. Would she be reincarnated into those fantasy medieval worlds? Will she learn magic? Maybe she was getting a little too ahead of herself. Did magic even exist in other worlds? She didn¡¯t know. There were too many unanswered questions and not enough time to find out all the mysteries of the world. ¡°So, where am I going to next?¡±
God didn¡¯t respond immediately, but he began observing her attentively. It almost felt like he was looking into her soul. ¡°Hmm¡ I was going to reveal a little something about your next lifetime, but I think it would be best if I just sent you there.¡± Yuna groaned, ¡°Don¡¯t tell me you¡¯re going to send me to my next life without properly explaining like last time. Please cut me some slack here. I¡¯ve done so much good. Can¡¯t you at least give me a hint?¡±
God decided to give her a little hint this time, because he felt that Yuna had long forgotten about her dark past. She has lived both of her lives as a good person. Although she lived a life of loneliness, she did indeed help improve the world into a better place. What amazed him was how she had discovered ways to counteract pollution in a way that was quick and efficient. She was praised by many for her innovative yet successful ideas. Her inventions were out of this world.
If she has any obstacles in the future, she will surpass all of them with pure hard work. He was proud of her. ¡°I¡¯ve decided to grant your wish because of how good you have been.¡± Yuna was confused, ¡°Wish? What wish?¡±
She had long forgotten about her wish to be reborn into her first lifetime for vengeance and assumed that it would never come true. God however knew that if she went back to her past life, she would use that chance to tie up loose ends. Moving forward, she would be able to live her days opening up to people. Because of all the heartbreak she has experienced in her first lifetime, she had closed herself to those that cared for her.
God felt that Yuna needed to go back for her to completely move on. He knew that she would not use his gift for darkness. This was proven when she had chosen to seek knowledge when she had multiple chances to become powerful. God had given this power to a select few, but almost all of them had gravely disappointed him. Majority of them had used that power to dominate the world. He was furious with the fact that they had used his gift for greed. He then stripped them of their powers.
God exclaimed, "Yuna, I will be sending you back to your past lifetime. I believe in you, so don''t disappoint me." What god did not know was that she despised having to go back to that era. She would be stuck living an archaic lifestyle.
She would hate to have to take care of her *duties* in a wooden shack or a pot. She would have to suffer without any AC or a heater. Plus, she would have to sit in a horse carriage! She wouldn''t have any rights as a woman, and she had to share her man with multiple other women. She didn''t even have the chance to choose whether she wanted a husband or not.
Before she could voice out her opinions, god waved goodbye and snapped his fingers. This was the second time she had no say on her reincarnation. Why was this god so impatient? She went spiraling down the wormhole at the snap of his finger.
Chapter 5
Yuna felt someone gently pat her back while softly humming a lullaby. She could smell a light jasmine scent that was coming from the person that held her. She turned her head to get a good look at who it could be. She was shocked to find out that it was her mother. Yuna never had the chance to meet her mother. Her mother passed away when she was only 3 years old. She barely remembered anything about her.
All the maids in the room cooed with awe as they witnessed the mother and daughter. The baby was so adorable and obedient. The baby stared at the mother lovingly and she wasn''t crying obnoxiously like other children. They were in awe of how affectionate the mother and daughter were. If only her father could make it back to see how lovely his daughter was. He was out at war while his wife was busy giving birth to their child.
Her mother''s slender hand caressed her cheek softly. "My child, I see that you are beautiful and wise. The way you obediently stay in my arms shows that you are wise. You remind me of her, your Aunt Yuna. I will name you Yuna after your auntie. In commemoration of how much she meant to me. I hope that you will become just like her."
Sena (Yuna¡¯s Mother) began to reminisce about her younger years when her sister was still alive. She used to be such a remarkable lady. She was loved by many for her beauty and intelligence. She shaped the way for many young ladies that were seeking a successful life. She oddly always had a way to help those around her.
Sena began to tear up thinking about all the times she spent with her sister. She was such a selfless person. She was a bit too selfless in her opinion. There were times when Sena wanted her sister to think about herself more often, but she never did. She always thought about everyone else except herself. Sena was forever grateful towards her sister, Yuna. She wouldn¡¯t be where she was if it weren¡¯t for her sister.
*****************************************************
During the autumn season, it began to pour outside, and many people scurried inside to avoid the rain. Sena had been standing outside at the lotus pond in her neighborhood when it began to rain. It was pouring outside and the leaves that had fallen from the trees had turned to muck. Her slippers were covered in muck and her hair was drenched from the rain. She was wearing a white light pink hanbok (Korean traditional clothes) that did no justice for her. The light-colored clothing had attached to her skin and became transparent.
She ran over to a tea shop to take cover from the rain. While she was panicking, she didn''t notice a boy was in front of her. She ran smack dab into his chest. She looked up to find a handsome young man looking into her eyes. His long slender fingers worked to move her bangs out of her face. It was love at first sight! The boy had never seen a girl as beautiful as her. The fragrance that flowed from the slight wind reminded him of cherry blossoms. This scent was coming from her! She had round sparkly eyes and small red lips that were so enticing he could just kiss her.
At the time, neither of them knew each other¡¯s identities. They had blindly fallen in love with each other. Unfortunately for them, their parents were mortal enemies. The Kim and Yoon household were always at each other¡¯s throats; especially Yoon Beom-soo (Sena¡¯s Father) and Kim Daemin (Junho¡¯s Father).
Yoon Beom-soo was a general and the left prime minister during this time period. Although he had a high position, many of the nobles detested him. He was well-known for being a tyrant and a coldblooded killer. Although he was detested by the nobles, he was still valued by the emperor. The reason being that General Yoon Beom-soo was loyal to the emperor regarding keeping their nation safe from neighboring countries. His bloodlust was known to have been extreme to the point of being a psychopath. He loved the feel of blood on his hands. He also had a hot-temper that caused many to dislike him.
Sena and Yuna were not close to their father and that was the reason why Sena was inclined to ignore her father¡¯s wishes. Her father had neglected both of them because they were born as daughters and not as sons. He had a strong belief that only sons could be considered as family, because they would continue the family bloodline. He loathed having daughters because they would be married out of the family. He didn¡¯t like the idea of having to pay a dowry to their future husbands.
On the other hand, Junho¡¯s father, Kim Daemin was a well-known scholar that became the right prime minister. The Kim Family had many literary scholars that resided in their household. They put knowledge in high esteem rather than martial arts. They were the exact opposites of the Yoon Family.
Daemin and Beom-soo always butted heads whenever they were together at social events. They were always trying to scheme against the other, hoping that there would be a successful assassination attempt. Surprisingly, the Kim Family was exceptionally good at defending themselves against the Yoon Family.
The Emperor appointed two opposite personalities as the left and right prime ministers. It was a strategy that was effective in establishing checks and balances. The Emperor knew clearly that the Kim and Yoon Family were great together as a team when it came to running the country.
He did know about the constant arguments and battles between the two, but that didn¡¯t stop him from appointing them their positions. He knew that both families were capable of defending themselves and weren¡¯t afraid to voice out their opinions. It became obvious to the Emperor that it was an advantage for him if they were at odds with each other.
Sena and Junho¡¯s marriage was disapproved by not only their fathers, but the Emperor as well. The Emperor had already accounted for the possibility of both families joining through marriage and declared a decree that all nobles must file a permission of marriage form. The form contained requests from nobles to the emperor on their marriage partner and an exact date for marriage. If the marriage is denied, they are given a new marriage partner in place of their current fianc¨¦.
Some of these nobles were known to have committed suicide because they weren¡¯t allowed to be with their lovers. Others were lucky to be granted permission from the emperor. Sena and Junho were destined to experience heartache.
The couple soon discovered each other¡¯s identity at the emperor¡¯s birthday party. They were too in love with one another that their parent¡¯s opposition didn¡¯t stop their romance. They would sneak out to see each other under the moon. Their love grew to the point of no return.
On one of those nights, Junho and Sena were caught by her sister, Yuna. There was no way to get out of the situation because they were found kissing in the middle of a field. There was no way that they could just be friends. Yuna was very smart and she was able to immediately identify Junho as the Kim Household¡¯s eldest son.

Sena was reprimanded for her naivety and inappropriate behavior. Although, Yuna disapproved of their skin ship, she did believe in true love. She encouraged them to continue their love but requested that they be more cautious and aware of their surroundings.
Eventually, a problem arose in their relationship. Sena¡¯s family received a letter from the emperor proclaiming that her marriage partner was decided, and it would be to the Jang Household¡¯s eldest son as the 1st wife. He was known to have over 20 concubines and their household was very chaotic. The 20 different concubines would scheme and fight against each other on a daily basis.
After hearing about the letter, Sena locked herself in her room. She grew so depressed that she began to lose excessive amounts of weight due to starvation. She refused to eat anything after learning of her arranged marriage to a playboy. She detested Jang, Sejoon so much that she wanted to run away desperately. Sena could not tell Junho about any of this, because she didn¡¯t want to lose Junho. Her love was so strong, but her heart was too weak.
Yuna watched as her sister suffered from heartache. She could not bare to watch her younger sister go through such pain. Yuna began investigating the reason behind this sudden marriage that sprung up out of nowhere. There was no way that Sena would be requested to marry so soon when Yuna herself hadn¡¯t even gotten married. Usually, the eldest daughter is the first to get married. The youngest is always the last to get married.
While investigating, she discovered that her father was behind this. He had also discovered Sena and Junho¡¯s love affair. She had no clue as to why her father chose to be discreet. She expected for him to be more confrontational. He tended to be hot-blooded and most of his opinions were always voiced out in the open. He wasn¡¯t afraid to hurt either of them.
After discovering why Sena was to marry, Yuna made a big decision in her life. She decided to sacrifice herself for her younger sister. She wasn¡¯t interested in men or women. She just wasn¡¯t the type to love easily because she witnessed her father abusing her mother. Sena was too young to remember any of it, but Yuna remembered it clear as day. In fact, her mother¡¯s death was caused by her father.
Yuna and Sena¡¯s mother was pregnant with another child, but their father began to fall out of love with their mother. After going to war, their father grew cold and detached from the family. He wasn¡¯t always like this, but the war had changed him. He unknowingly grew in love with his new hobby, killing. He loved being able to cut the throats of his enemies and being bathed with their blood.
Their mother grew scared of his new persona and felt lost when her lover didn¡¯t come back from the war. He became a monster that enjoyed killing more than anything. Their father would never hurt his own family, but it all went downhill on one fateful evening. He was so focused on trying to kill and scheme against Junho¡¯s father that he accidentally killed his own wife.
He was frustrated and so hot-tempered that all he could see was red. He did not pay attention to his surroundings and began to break everything that he could see in front of him. He was furious with Daemin for making a fool of him in front of the emperor that he could not control himself. His wife snuck in the room, in hopes to ease his anger.
Beom-soo (Sena¡¯s father) saw a vase and threw it at the door in fury. Sena¡¯s mother came in at that time. The vase did not hit her directly, but the broken shards recoiled and went straight into their mother¡¯s stomach; instantly killing their pregnant mother and their unborn sister.
Yuna was a kid that never met her father because he was always out at war. She only interacted with him on occasion and she could only remember him being cruel and evil. She was afraid of her father, but she wanted to be brave like all of her ancestors. She had the heart to become a general and loved the sword.
Because she was a girl, she was not allowed to touch the sword. She became curious one evening and snuck into her father¡¯s closet to look at his sword. She knew that she could get hurt if her father discovered her, but she didn¡¯t let the fear stop her from her curiosity.
While admiring her father¡¯s sword, she heard heavy footsteps at the door and her father grunting and cursing, ¡°D*mn Damian! If only I could¡¯ve killed him sooner, I wouldn¡¯t have to deal with this humiliation!¡± Before he opened the doors to his room/study, she dived into the big closet and hid. She could see through the space between the closet doors.
Yuna watched as her father killed their mother. She knew that it was an accident, but she still believed that he caused her mother to die. The tears came pouring down and her breathe became uneven. She tried so hard to stay quiet because her father was right in front of her. She grew to despise their father when she saw his expression. He seemed pleased as if he were waiting for this to happen.
He called for the guards to dispose of their mother¡¯s body in the woods. He treated their mother like garbage. The guards felt bad for the kids and so they were raised by the servants in a run-down hut within the Yoon Family¡¯s estate. Their father did not kill them and chose to ignore their existence instead. They were too weak for him to pay attention to and they weren¡¯t bothering him. The only time that their father actually paid attention was when he discovered that Sena was involved with his rival¡¯s son.
Sena began to notice changes in her sister¡¯s behavior. Ever since she told Yuna about the letter from the emperor, she became distant. She spent less time with her, and she looked to be always busy. It was hard for her to get her older sister to come visit. She finally got her sister¡¯s attention one day. She confronted Yuna about her behavior, ¡°Why haven¡¯t you been coming to visit lately? Are you mad at me or something?¡± Yuna frowned, ¡°No, I¡¯m not mad at you. I¡¯ve just been busy lately.¡± Sena sighed, ¡°Not that excuse again. I¡¯m sick of hearing you say you¡¯re busy when I know that you¡¯re just making up excuses to avoid me. So, tell me now. Why have you been avoiding me?¡±
Yuna was swift when it came to thinking up a solution. She replied, ¡°It¡¯s a secret. You¡¯ll find out soon enough.¡±
Sena did eventually find out why her sister wasn¡¯t telling her anything when she received a revised letter of marriage from the emperor. The emperor sent the same letter, but there was one difference. Her partner¡¯s name changed from the Jang Family¡¯s eldest son to Kim, Junho. She was so shocked by the letter and she couldn¡¯t believe that the emperor allowed their marriage.
Sena was overjoyed by the sudden news that she immediately sprinted towards the fields where she could find Junho reading. She saw Junho standing in the fields and she quickly ran as fast as she could toward him. He saw her and opened his arms. She leaped into his arms. Sena told Junho about everything including the changed letter. Junho became so happy that they spent the whole night together outside.
The next day Sena went home to find that all of her sister¡¯s belongings were gone, but there was letter on top of her desk. The letter wrote:
Dear Sister,
I¡¯m sorry I had to leave you so suddenly. I just couldn¡¯t face you to tell you the truth. The reason why I was acting so different this whole time was because I wanted you to be happy even when I¡¯m gone. I bet you¡¯re wondering why the emperor suddenly let you get married to Junho, right?
It¡¯s because I made a deal with the Emperor. I offered him my hand in marriage in order for him to accept your marriage to Junho. I know this may be shocking for you, but please don¡¯t give up on your love. I fear that you will try to save me from this loveless marriage. Please don¡¯t. I¡¯ve never planned on marrying for love anyway.
The Emperor did not want the marriage between you two because he knows that Junho¡¯s future family will be invincible. He just needs some way to keep your family from ruining him in the near future. In order for this to happen, I had to be the person to step up and allow our family to show our loyalty to the Emperor by offering my hand in marriage. Please understand.
I¡¯ve already moved into the palace and I won¡¯t be able to visit very often. I hope that you and Junho are safe and live happily. I¡¯ll keep in touch.
Love,
Yuna
Chapter 6
Sena would never forget her sister¡¯s sacrifice. She knew that the palace was a terrible place with sinister people that schemed to survive. Majority of the royal family and their concubines had their days filled with plans on how to eliminate one another. Sena wasn¡¯t stupid enough to think Yuna would be happy. She knew that Yuna was willing to live that kind of life in order for her to gain happiness.
Sena felt inadequate and small. She wasn¡¯t capable of achieving anything. She didn¡¯t have enough power or strength to fight for her love. She forced her own sister into a horrible life because of her selfishness. Her guilt overwhelmed her when she knew of Yuna¡¯s sacrifice.
Sena was hoping that both Yuna and her could get married to nice husbands be happy together for the rest of their lives. None of that seemed possible at this point. Living in the palace was a constant war between the royals and concubines. Sena couldn¡¯t fathom what Yuna was going through in that sort of place.
The moment that Yuna spoke of her end of the deal, the Emperor was stunned by her proposal. The Emperor had only met this girl once. She was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen during his lifetime. She was unlike all the concubines in his residence and he could tell just by her demeanor. She was wise beyond her years and the smallest movements she made revealed the movements of an experienced martial artist.
The only reason that he refrained from proposing or approaching her was for various reasons. One of the reasons was because of his age. He was almost as old as her father. He was always particular with keeping his image as clean as possible, but this girl was the exception. He had never expected that she would propose to him on her own.
The Emperor was extremely observant and could tell that Yuna wasn¡¯t proposing to him because of her love for him. This marriage was only possible because of Yuna¡¯s sister. He still didn¡¯t want to lose this chance to be with her and decided to marry her.
The Emperor already had an Empress that ruled the harem. It was common for men in this generation to have multiple wives, but the Emperor could only have one Empress. He could only welcome Yuna into his residence as a concubine. Yuna still chose to marry him regardless of these obstacles. He wouldn¡¯t miss this chance.
The Emperor was enamored with Yuna, but that was not a good thing in the palace. The Empress and the Concubines all despised her for taking all of the Emperor''s favor. Her life in the palace was constantly threatened by people that targeted her for various reasons. Yuna wasn¡¯t worried about the Concubines or the Emperor. Especially when her martial arts surpassed most of the guards.
She secretly practiced the sword and her martial arts in order to protect her and her little sister. Sena was special to her and she would even give up her own life just for Yuna to be happy. Even if her father hated them both, she still had her one and only sister.
While living in the palace, Yuna survived multiple assassination attempts and made a name for herself as the ruthless concubine. The Empress was always on the losing end when it came to schemes. None of her assassination attempts were successful and the Emperor grew more and more in love with this concubine. She couldn¡¯t stand the look on his face.
Day by day, the Emperor spent time pampering Yuna. He would never spend time with her or any of the concubines. They grew anxious and worried of their positions. The only way to get rid of her became obvious after gaining information on the Yoon Family.
Yuna spent her days avoiding the Concubines and the Emperor. She could never love the emperor. She just didn¡¯t find love to be real after watching her mother¡¯s death. That memory stuck to her stubbornly. The Emperor constantly pampered her even when she didn¡¯t want anything from him.

She found her escape in a part of the palace that had been abandoned. Many people avoided this place because it was known for its ghost stories. Yuna didn¡¯t really mind ghosts because she didn¡¯t believe in them anyway. She never once encountered a ghost while being there. She would leisurely spend her time there reading. At least she didn¡¯t have to deal with the annoying Emperor or his stupid wives.
While reading in that place, she felt a presence approaching the room she was in. She quickly laid her body flat against the wall to keep from being noticed. She listened closely to the footsteps approaching the room. There was only one person, so it was unlikely for it to be an attack. Yuna didn¡¯t relax just yet.
The door slid open and someone walked in stealthily. Yuna kept her body plastered to the wall to stay hidden. The man noticed her presence and turned around. The man that stood before her was her father, Yoon Beom-soo.
Her voice trembled, ¡°What are you doing here?¡± Her father¡¯s sinister grin brought back memories of that day. She was traumatized by his lust for blood and could feel the dark energy that surrounded him. She would never call this man her father. He was nothing but a psychopath that enjoyed murdering her mother. At first, he looked sad about her and then it changed into a grin of a crazy psychopath.
He spoke, ¡°I should be asking you that. I found out that you seduced the Emperor. You¡¯re a stupid wh**e that only knows how to seduce men. You should¡¯ve listened when I asked you to marry Jang Sejoon. Now the Emperor has most of our assets. I have no choice but to get rid of you to get it all back. You know that what the father says goes, right?¡± Yuna hurriedly stepped back when his fist came flying towards her face. ¡°Seems like you¡¯re not too stupid for a woman. I shouldn¡¯t have underestimated your ability to fight me like this. I am your father after all.¡±
Yuna denied, ¡°No, you aren¡¯t my father. I¡¯ve never had a father like you.¡± He called, ¡°Come to papa. I won¡¯t hurt you.¡± Yuna kicked him in the stomach and successfully tripped him. While groaning on the floor, her father changed into the evil psychopath that killed her mother. His mask fell instantly.
They began fist fighting each other and he was a lot stronger and faster than her. He had multiple experiences during the war and had defeated many enemy generals. She was nothing compared to him. He finished their fight by laying a deadly blow to her heart. She began coughing up blood.
Her father¡¯s cruel gaze landed on her. She could hear her heartbeat slowing down. She closed her eyes and focused. Her father was lost in thought and became distracted for a second. She could sense his change in breathing and the movement in the air. He was slowly becoming relaxed after he hit a vital spot in her heart.
She gathered the last strength that remained and swiftly grabbed a dagger from her boot and successfully threw it at his neck. He immediately pulled out the dagger and roared with laughter, ¡°You think this puny little dagger could kill me?¡±
While coughing up blood, she spoke, ¡°I didn¡¯t just throw any ordinary dagger. Why don¡¯t you look at the blade and see what¡¯s different from any dagger?¡± He observed the dagger in his right hand. It was covered in a purple liquid that resembled poison. She laced the weapon with unknown poison. He¡¯s never seen anything like it.
He yelled with fury, ¡°Is this poison? What type of poison?¡± She laughed, ¡°It doesn¡¯t matter. No antidote exists in this world. I¡¯m glad I got to use it on you. I¡¯ve hated you ever since I saw you kill mother.¡± For once in his life he felt terrible after discovering his daughter¡¯s hatred.
His neck began to grow itchy and scaly like a snake. The lumps that rapidly spread through his body eventually reached his hands. He stared at his abnormally purple hands that looked charred. His hands looked like it had been burned horribly. In all his life, he had never came across a poison that was like this.
He felt like his whole body was burning and blood came out from his eyes, nose and mouth. He eventually died from pain.
She died a lot slower than her father did. She closed her eyes and reminisced her time with her sister. She would rather die remembering her sister than think about her killer. She felt her life slip away.
She was soon discovered after the Emperor sent the guards out to find the concubine that suddenly disappeared. They discovered General Beom-soo¡¯s and Yuna¡¯s bodies. The guards reported to the Emperor immediately.
After several days, the Emperor announced Concubine Yuna¡¯s death. Everyone in the capital knew of Yuna¡¯s death, except Sena. Junho could not tell Sena of this because she became pregnant soon after their marriage. He did not want to upset her during her pregnancy. He kept it from her for as long as possible.
When she was 8 months into pregnancy, she discovered her sister¡¯s death. She had constantly tried to get a hold of her sister to let her know about her pregnancy. She was ignored for several months. She decided to head to the palace. While heading to the palace, she overheard some citizens discussing her sister¡¯s death.
She was so shaken by the news that she felt her body become faint. Something was odd about her body today. She felt the water beneath her and the painful contractions that ripped at her belly. She couldn¡¯t believe it. It was only 8 months in, and she was giving birth prematurely. Sena¡¯s maids immediately found an inn and called for a midwife to assist in giving birth.
Even after giving birth to a beautiful daughter, Sena still couldn¡¯t forget how Junho kept this from her. She grieved endlessly in bed for several days while Junho tried to comfort her. She pushed him away and they grew distant. Sena held her daughter lovingly and named her Yuna after her sister.
Chapter 7
Yuna kept wondering about her mother¡¯s whereabouts. The only time she met her was when she was named and that was the day she was born. It seemed that both her mother and father neglected her at such a young age. Yuna was raised by the live-in nannies and maids.
She only recalled her father¡¯s cold personality in her previous life. She always believed it was because of her mother¡¯s death. Yuna never found out how her mother passed away because her father refused to mention anything about her. Her mother didn¡¯t seem to hate her because she held her affectionately on occasion. It just didn¡¯t make sense to her.
Why would a loving mother neglect her child? On many occasions, Yuna would try her best to investigate on her mother, but the maids always got in the way. She was always locked up in the nursery with a maid watching her at all times.
The maids were always attentive towards her and never allowed her to leave the nursery. She finally got a chance to go investigate on her mother when a new maid was hired. The maid that usually took care of her got sick, so they found a replacement maid temporarily.
The new maid heard rumors that the General and his wife didn¡¯t favor this girl and so she chose to be neglectful of her duties. She spent her days lavishly stealing from Yuna and ignoring her. Yuna didn¡¯t even bother to cry nor did she need someone to take care of her.
All her muscles weren¡¯t fully developed at this age and so she had a difficult time changing her own diapers. She wondered how she even survived her infant years in her previous life. Wouldn¡¯t she have been dead by now? The maid refused to change her diaper and she didn¡¯t even lift a finger. The only times she pretended to take care of me was when her father and mother came to visit, but that was hardly ever.
While the maid was distracted, Yuna struggled immensely to get to her mother¡¯s bedroom, because of the undeveloped muscles. She crawled slowly to her mother¡¯s room door. She remembered how to get there by observing the maids and her surroundings after birth. Her mother¡¯s bedroom was close to the nursery so it wouldn¡¯t be too difficult to get there.
Yuna got to the sliding screen doors that led to her mother¡¯s bedroom. She used her tiny hands with all her might. Luckily, the sliding screen doors were extremely light and thin. She easily pushed the door open. She crawled in through the cracks between the sliding doors and entered the bedroom.
Her mother laid in her luxurious bed covered with beautifully embroidered fabric. Colorful drapes hung down from the sides of the ceiling where the bed was. She lay motionless on the bed with a pale face. Her health had deteriorated significantly during the time that she hadn¡¯t seen her.
Her collarbones protruded out prominently and her fingers were so thin and bony. Her lips were dry, and the plushness of her beautiful face had all but vanished. She no longer looked like her beautiful self from just days ago.
The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
While observing her mother, she heard footsteps that approached the bedroom. She rushed to the bunched-up curtains behind the bed. The maids announced, ¡°Miss may we enter? It is just us.¡±
Her mother didn¡¯t respond to their question. The maids decided to enter after a long silence. They came in with a tray of steaming food that would normally be considered lavish compared to the poor families that struggled to eat proper meals.
The tray contained all food groups including a tasty looking grilled salmon. Yuna had been starved for the last couple days and so the food looked very appetizing.
The maids gently woke her up and got her into a sitting position. One of the maids placed a spoon in her right hand and tried to get her to eat. Her mother immediately slapped her hands away and shouted, ¡°I told you all to leave me alone! I don¡¯t have an appetite.¡± The Head Maid sternly declared, ¡°I know that you are grieving the loss of Miss Yuna, but you cannot be this way. You have a daughter to take care of. Please don¡¯t do this.¡±
Yuna became confused at the situation unfolding before her. She was right here. Why did her mother need to grieve for her? She didn¡¯t find out the whole truth until another maid agreed, ¡°Miss Sena, she¡¯s correct. You mustn¡¯t refuse to eat just because your sister passed away.¡±
Her mother began sobbing into her hands, ¡°You don¡¯t know what its like. I can¡¯t control how I feel. I don¡¯t feel like eating and I just don¡¯t have the energy to go anywhere anymore. She¡¯s not here any longer, what am I supposed to do?¡± The maids began whaling in sorrow as they watched their master grieve her sister.
How could she have not known? No wonder her mother named her after her aunt. It became obvious to her in this lifetime because she was able to remember and understand everything from day one. Her mother must have passed away from depression. It was kind of similar to how her father had passed away shortly after her mother in modern Korea.
Yuna discovered the reason behind her mother¡¯s negligence towards her. It was because she was struggling from depression. Yuna wasn¡¯t a psychologist in her previous life, but she sure knew a lot about psychology. She spent a lot of time learning random things from random books. She even had a psychologist that worked with her depression in her previous lifetime.
She lived her last moments without a single soul to take care of her. She chose to live the life of loneliness, but it affected her later on in life. She grew extremely depressed and so she decided to meet with a psychologist to work on her depression. She had overcome the depression when she did 3 things. Those three things were exercising, eating spicy foods, and enjoying the little things in life.
Exercising would help her mother¡¯s muscles that were deteriorating slowly from lack of movement for long periods of time. This was proven by the countless people that had recovered from comas. Her mother wasn¡¯t a coma patient, but she remained in the bed for months. Exercise would do nothing but good in this situation. Yuna planned on getting her to slowly move her body in small increments.
It would be too challenging to get her to take a walk in the garden or go shopping because Yuna was too young to go on walks. It would be better if she could get her mother to move even a little bit even if its in the bedroom.
Yuna found that eating spicy foods helped her when she was depressed. She was an unusual person. Not many people would find spicy food as a remedy to depression, but she believed it. The reason she enjoyed spicy food is because it almost feels like she¡¯s getting a taste of harsh reality when she takes a bite. It hurts, but it brings flavor to her tastebuds.
It reminded her of all the struggles and hardships she dealt with. In the end, all of it was required for her to get to where she was then. Spicy food served as a reminder to live on in hopes of tasting the flavor. Her depression made life seem bland and all food tasted bland to her. Her parents weren¡¯t fond of spicy food, so she grew up never eating much spicy food until she decided to dine out alone at a Chinese Restaurant.
The last thing she needed her mother to do was realize that the little things in life can help her slowly move on from the loss of her sister. It¡¯s okay to grieve, but if it affects her health to this point, she needs to find a way to accept her sister¡¯s death. It wasn¡¯t healthy to think the way her mother did. If she could enjoy what she had and not who she had lost, she wouldn¡¯t be so keen on leaving.
Yuna didn¡¯t know her mother very well, but she still wanted a chance to grow up with a mother. It reminded her of her mother and her last moments. Yuna decided that she would save her mother from dying in this lifetime.
Chapter 8
Sena had no energy to spare after crying out all of the sadness and guilt. Her maids were surprisingly understanding. Sena knew that she had a daughter and a life to live with a loving husband. Happiness was just a breath away, but it seemed too far away for her.
Her husband was the love of her life, but she couldn¡¯t let go of the guilt she felt for letting her sister die in the palace. She later discovered that her father was the killer. She couldn¡¯t live with herself. Her husband was only trying to protect her, but that didn¡¯t stop these feelings of guilt.
Sena sighed, ¡°I need all of you to leave. I want some alone time. I just don¡¯t feel like seeing anyone right now.¡± The maids began gathering at the door to follow their master¡¯s order. Soon the room was silent and the only thing she could hear was herself breathing. She stood up slowly and walked over to the golden mirror atop her elegant dresser. She stared at the reflection in the mirror.
She didn¡¯t look like herself. It had been months since she took care of herself. She had given up on everything. While pondering over her thoughts, she noticed something moving behind her bedside curtains. Sena quickly pushed the curtains back to find her daughter curled up on the floor. She must¡¯ve snuck in here but fell asleep after a while.
The girl was so small and skinny. Something didn¡¯t seem right. Sena quickly pulled up Yuna¡¯s shirt to see the bruises on her body. Someone had been abusing her daughter from right under her nose. Why hadn¡¯t she known? Sena held Yuna and gently laid her on the bed.
In order to not wake her daughter, she called a maid that was standing outside of her bedroom. ¡°I want you to gather all the maids and servants at once. I want them all to meet in my courtyard outside. I also want you to get Master Junho this instant. I don¡¯t care what you have to do but get him there at once.¡± The maid could see how upset her master was. She was hardly ever angry with them, but something was different today.
All the maids and servants stood in a straight line while facing their two masters. It had been a while since they all gathered together in the courtyard. Something must¡¯ve happened. The only reason they would gather at the courtyard was if one of them had committed an offense. They were all worried. What could it be?
Junho came barging in through the gate to Sena¡¯s courtyard. While rushing in, he noticed his wife that had been locked in the room for months. He wasn¡¯t planning on letting this quarrel of theirs to last so long, but time had flown by. He was busy with work and the fight between them has never been worse. She looked like she lost a lot of weight and her beautiful hands were now nothing but bones.
He bit his lip in anger for his own stupidity. How could he let things go this far? She had given up on everything. He approached her cautiously. His wife hardly ever gathered the servants in the household. Something was up, ¡°What¡¯s wrong? Why have you gathered everyone here?¡±

Sena hadn¡¯t seen him in a while and he also looked haggard and worn out. ¡°I noticed that someone has been harming our daughter. She¡¯s covered with bruises and she looks smaller than most infants. I was shocked to find her in this state.¡± Junho hadn¡¯t been visiting his daughter because he was caught up in his own world trying to figure out what had gone wrong? He was so clueless and stupid.
He was furious after realizing someone had hurt his daughter. He looked through the crowd of servants, ¡°Who was in charge of watching Yuna?¡± No one answered him in fear of being the target of his anger. ¡°Don¡¯t let me repeat myself. I want to know who?¡± One of the maids stepped forward and responded to his question, ¡°Since Miss Yuna¡¯s personal maid was sick, Yongju was assigned to watch over the young miss.¡±
He didn¡¯t recall ever buying a maid named Yongju. ¡°I¡¯ve never hired anyone named Yongju. Who is she?¡± The maid in question heard her name being called and immediately tried to escape. Since all the servants were lined up, it was easy to tell who was trying to escape. Junho didn¡¯t even bother to ask the servants to grab her. He personally ran after her angrily.
He caught her by the hair and pulled her to the front of the crowd. ¡°Don¡¯t even think about running away. What have you done to my daughter? Who are you?¡± The maid trembled after hearing him demand the truth. ¡°I didn¡¯t do anything! Please spare me!¡± He shouted, ¡°Do I look stupid to you? I don¡¯t remember hiring you, so who are you?¡±
The maid began stuttering, ¡°I¡. I was given this position by the main maid in the household. She offered me the spot because the miss¡¯s personal maid was sick. Please don¡¯t hurt me. I didn¡¯t do anything wrong.¡±
He couldn¡¯t stand liars and he could tell if someone was lying. It was a trick he learned from becoming a general. He had taken his fathers-in-law¡¯s spot as the next general in order to protect Sena from losing everything. It was a struggle to become a general after growing up in a household filled with literary scholars. He was the eldest son in the Kim Household.
The elders in his household were adamant about him taking over as the new minister in their country. They never expected that the eldest son would become the left prime minister instead of the right prime minister. They ended up giving that position to their second eldest son.
Junho observed the maid that tried to get out of the situation desperately. She kept avoiding his eyes because she wasn¡¯t telling him the full truth. Junho didn¡¯t even bother asking her anymore. ¡°Guards take her to the military prison on the eastern part of our residence. I want you to investigate this situation thoroughly and report back to me. Understood?¡± The guards immediately saluted the general, ¡°Yes sir.¡± They grabbed the maid by her arms and dragged her to the prison.
Junho faced Sena after a long time, ¡°I¡¯m sorry you had to go through this. I was too focused on work that I haven¡¯t paying too much attention to what was going on at home. How is she?¡± Sena didn¡¯t know how to approach Junho after quarreling with him for nearly 7 months. It had been a while.
She kept looking down at her hands in hopes that Junho would just ignore her. He didn¡¯t follow her expectations. He placed his hand on her chin and gently nudged her head towards his. He kissed her gently while whispering to her, ¡°Let¡¯s stop all this fighting. I¡¯ve told you many times that I¡¯m sorry. We have Yuna to be worried about. I¡¯ve been so miserable without you. I can¡¯t bear to see you like this. Please¡¡±
Sena decided then and there that she couldn¡¯t let herself ruin this loving family. What would her sister think? She had always wanted for her to be happy, but she was spending all this time mourning. Would her sister approve of this? She wouldn¡¯t. She would have wanted her to move on and live for her family.
Sena organized her thoughts and spoke, ¡°I forgive you for not telling me about my sister¡¯s death. It wasn¡¯t your fault. I just haven¡¯t been okay since I found out. I feel so guilty. She wouldn¡¯t have died like that if I weren¡¯t so weak and powerless. If it weren¡¯t for her, we wouldn¡¯t be together.¡±
Junho caressed her back in hopes of easing her pain, ¡°Sena, it wasn¡¯t your fault either. Who would¡¯ve known that your father was capable of killing his own blood? I¡¯m sorry you had to go through all this without me. I should¡¯ve been there for both you and Yuna.¡±
Tears began pouring out of her eyes. He pulled her into his embrace to comfort her. She soaked his clothes with her tears and snot. It didn¡¯t bother him at all. He brushed her hair lightly while kissing her hair. He
missed this so much during the 7 months that they fought.
Chapter 9
When Yuna woke up, she noticed the change in her surroundings. She recalled the last thing she did when she fell asleep. She hid herself and eavesdropped on the maids and her mother. She didn¡¯t remember falling asleep, but she must¡¯ve gotten caught by her mother. It was hard for her to control an infant body.
She would find herself sleeping randomly and she definitely couldn¡¯t control her poop. She would have to experience being an infant every time she gets reincarnated. She didn¡¯t think that she¡¯d get used to it anytime soon. Her mother and father were laying beside her asleep. When did this development happen?
The months flew by while observing her parents, it seemed that they didn¡¯t have a good relationship. She hardly ever saw them together, but she couldn¡¯t tell from the little information she had. Both her mother and father never bothered to visit her anyway. It was the complete opposite of when she grew up in Korea.
Now that she thinks about it, the world she was in now wasn¡¯t exactly like her previous lifetime. If the history from that place were true in this world, Minho would not have become the emperor. She must be in a parallel universe or a different universe all together.
Yuna wondered if this world had different things that her previous world didn¡¯t have. She wasted her first life away being caught up in loving Minho, she wouldn¡¯t know anything about this world. To think about it, she wasn¡¯t too bright back then. At least she has the chance to find out during this lifetime.
After letting her mind wander off to lala land, her parents finally woke up from their sleep. The atmosphere seemed brighter than usual, almost like there was a filter on both of them. Where did all these hearts come from? They were surrounded with roses and hearts, similar to manga characters that were in love.
Yuna was stunned by the scene she was seeing. Her parents were madly in love. How did she not know this? Her father had a gentle expression on his face. This was the first time she witnessed her father smile. Did she change her fate somehow? What changed? It must be because her mother was still alive.
If she calculated correctly, her mother would¡¯ve passed away when she reached 1 years old. She needed to work on her mother¡¯s health fast or else she would have to deal with a cold father for the rest of her life. Yuna couldn¡¯t imagine having to go through that again.
When her parents woke up, they began cuddling and kissing each other thinking that she was still asleep. She immediately started giggling like normal babies. It wouldn¡¯t be a good idea to act like a full-grown adult when she was only 1 years old in this world. She was technically over 100 years old, but they didn¡¯t know that.
Sena immediately shoved Junho away in embarrassment. ¡°Stop it! Our daughter¡¯s watching us.¡± Junho was stubborn and didn¡¯t want to miss the chance to be affectionate with his wife. ¡°She doesn¡¯t understand anything. She¡¯s only a year old and plus didn¡¯t you miss me?¡± He gave her a back hug while kissing her neck.

Sena swatted his hands away and began pouting. ¡°If you don¡¯t get your hands off of me this instant, you¡¯re going to get it!¡± Junho gave her a stern look, ¡°And what are you going to do about it?¡± He didn¡¯t care what she would do. He wanted to pamper his wife starting now.
She giggled, ¡°Now you¡¯ve done it!¡± She immediately began tickling him on the stomach and feet. Most people thought General Junho was a strong and scary warrior that was similar to General Beom-soo. No one knew the real Junho like Sena did. He was very ticklish and that was one of his weakness¡¯.
Junho began roaring with laughter while rolling on the bed with his hair standing up oddly in weird angles. Junho finally had enough time to escape the clutches of his tickle monster wife. He jumped out of bed and stood next to the dresser. ¡°I give up. Fine, I won¡¯t cuddle you. You owe me a cuddle session later.¡±
Sena agreed, ¡°I promise.¡± Yuna couldn¡¯t stand the cheesy couple any longer and decided to hide under her pillow. Yuna thought, ¡®Stupid couple. Go get a room.¡¯ Sena noticed that Yuna was covered in blankets and pillows and became worried that her daughter was suffocating. She grabbed her from beneath the pillow and held her in her arms.
She cooed, ¡°How¡¯s my baby this morning? Did we wake you?¡± She rocked her back and forth. ¡°Do you want something to eat?¡± Yuna¡¯s stomach growled exactly at that moment, revealing her hunger. If only she didn¡¯t have to be a baby, she wouldn¡¯t be stuck drinking breast milk.
Her mother began breast feeding her. Yuna scrunched up her face in disgust. She definitely couldn¡¯t get used to this.
During the next couple days, things began to change in a way that Yuna would never expect. Her mother became healthier, and her father was happier than ever. She didn¡¯t really do much, but the result was what mattered. Her goal was to save her mother from depression. It was a good thing that her mother had solved this issue herself.
They spent more time with her, and it reminded her of the parents back in 2021. Having memories from all lifetimes was tough. They were irreplaceable to her, but Sena and Junho weren¡¯t bad parents either. They just weren¡¯t happy. Now that her mother was saved, it was time for her to learn more about this world.
Her 1st lifetime was filled with memories of trying to get Minho to pay attention to her and days spent on being madly in love. She wished that she could¡¯ve spent at least half that time studying. She desperately wanted to read again, but that was extremely difficult for her age. She needed to lay low and act like an infant.
If they discovered her reading books that were way beyond her years, she would be considered a demon. She couldn¡¯t get used to the way people in this world thought. They were scared by what they didn¡¯t know causing them to form speculations about the unknown. They ostracized those that were outside of their comfort zone. She definitely had to be inconspicuous when it came to reading.
Yuna wasn¡¯t able to escape the maids and her parents so easily to get the time to read. She decided not to jump the gun when it came to growing up. Yuna spent her days acting like a normal baby. It wasn¡¯t as interesting as studying, but she still enjoyed the family bonding time. She also got to practice on her speech and walking.
Chapter 10
Years flew by and Yuna has grown to become a smart, beautiful, and bright 12-year-old that has unlocked the secrets about this world and earth. She had researched countless possibilities and made discoveries that no one could possibly understand in this world. She was indeed in a parallel universe that was not the same as earth.
None of the historical books had any of the emperors and kings that were known in the modern world. She couldn¡¯t find a single thing in history that matched earth¡¯s records. The gravity was definitely the same and the plants were all the same in this world. The only difference was that this world wasn¡¯t as advanced as earth.
She had no clue if this was earth. The stars alignment wasn¡¯t the same as earth¡¯s planets and stars. There was also one sun and one moon. The odd thing is that a day is equivalent to 25 hours and not 24 hours. There were slight differences that weren¡¯t noticeable unless someone was purposely trying to compare the two.
Yuna was in a nation called the Kingdom of Guwon. This nation spoke Korean and it was similar to Korea in the 1000-1400 A.D. Majority of its citizens wore traditional Korean clothing called Hanbok. The food and culture were similar. Yuna discovered that the map of the world was unlike the map on earth.
There were countless other nations that neighbored the Kingdom of Guwon. There was the Kingdom of Latvia, the Kingdom of Miyon and the Kingdom of Ezra. The Kingdom of Guwon and the Kingdom of Miyon aren¡¯t on good terms. They are on the verge of war, but that doesn¡¯t happen until 7 years later.
The war was the reason why General Junho wasn¡¯t at home protecting Yuna from execution. Yuna and her father weren¡¯t on good terms in the past lifetime, but he still did his duties as a father. He was still a father that had his daughter¡¯s best interests at heart.
During the last 12 years, Yuna spent her time on studying and becoming a genius that surpassed even her elders. No one could compare to the little girl. Her parents were observant and immediately recognized their daughter¡¯s potential. They could tell that Yuna wasn¡¯t like most children.
She had knowledge that was extraordinary and unlike anything they have ever seen. They couldn¡¯t understand half the things she was saying. It occurred to them that she may have knowledge passed down by the gods. There was no explanation for the amazing inventions and gadgets that began appearing all over her bedroom.
Her father couldn¡¯t help but brag about his amazing daughter. It was to the point that all the guards began getting annoyed by the constant ravings about her. Things have changed drastically. General Junho used to be a scary and cold general that would not tolerate any distractions when it came to work. He was so outstanding that he was able to run an army and still have time to govern a part of their country.
He wasn¡¯t the type to talk about his personal matters, but recently he just wouldn¡¯t stop raving about the daughter that was so smart and extraordinary. Most could only believe that this general was being a loving father. They didn¡¯t believe most of what the general said about the daughter. None have even had the chance to meet her.
Those that tried were immediately rejected by the overprotective father. He wouldn¡¯t allow any random person to meet his lovely daughter. Plus, his daughter didn¡¯t enjoy going out to social events. She detested going to parties. His daughter would rather stay at home and read her books.
At first, he wanted her to meet other people that could play with her, but she was constantly refusing. He became worried that she would become an outcast. He wanted to find kids that could get along with her, but most of them came out of the room crying. Junho and his wife were always getting told that their daughter was way too different to get along with.
Yuna was so smart that the kids couldn¡¯t understand much of what she said, and the smarter kids would find her to be intimidating. Yuna wasn¡¯t doing this on purpose, but the subjects they discussed were so elementary for her. The kids would always want to play with dolls and play tea party. Yuna wasn¡¯t interested and chose to read instead.
Yuna began to repeat the same patterns of her previous life. She couldn¡¯t make friends easily. She could tell what most of them were thinking and some of them were very deceptive for being a kid. She just couldn¡¯t find herself being around people that weren¡¯t on the same level as her. She decided it¡¯d be better if she could just be alone without friends for a while. Maybe she could try her luck on being friends with older people.
Meanwhile, there was another kid that was desperate to get Yuna¡¯s attention. The kid¡¯s name is Han, Minho. He is the second prince/son of the current Emperor of the Kingdom of Guwon. He was also known as Yuna¡¯s ex-husband in the first lifetime.
Minho had heard rumors from countless servants and nobles that General Junho¡¯s daughter was a smart and beautiful girl. He heard that the General that was usually cold was unusually gentle when it came to his daughter. It was easy for him to guess what his next moves would be.
Minho was always jealous of his older brother, Jimin for being the center of attention. He also coveted the crown prince position that would eventually lead to him becoming the emperor of their nation. Minho hated that half-brother of his that got all the attention. Jimin wasn¡¯t as smart as him and he didn¡¯t know half the things he had to go through to gain some of his father¡¯s approval. All he did was look pretty on that stupid golden chair for the crown prince. He was lucky to have been born just a year earlier than him.
If only he could have that position, he would be able to rule the world. No one would be able to step on him, not even his own father. He hated that man. He was constantly compared to with Jimin and the other princes and princess¡¯. They would laugh at him because he was born from a laundry servant/slave. That was the lowest position in the palace. They looked at him like he was dirty.
He couldn¡¯t stand being looked down on by those people. Even if his mother was a slave, he was still a prince. He had the chance to take over crown prince Jimin¡¯s spot if he gets rid of him. There was no way he could kill him when there were too many eyes on him. He didn¡¯t even have the power to fight back. He was a prince that had nothing.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
The only way he could gain this power is if he could find a fianc¨¦e that had power. He didn¡¯t care if that girl were as ugly as a cow, he would accept her just as long as she had the backing. He found just the right person at the right time. He just had to find a way to get General Junho¡¯s daughter to meet him in order to marry her.
He was curious as to see what type of girl she was. She was mysterious and he didn¡¯t have any information on her. No one knew who she was because she had never shown up to any social event or parties. He had met countless noble ladies, but none of them were the General¡¯s daughter.
He wasn¡¯t too worried about how the girl would react when meeting him. He was handsome and all the girls were in love with him. He was only 10 years old, but all the girls still wanted to speak to him. He was better at socializing with the ladies than any of his brothers. The crown prince was always too cold and scary. His younger brothers were wimps and couldn¡¯t speak to girls.
When Minho arrived at the Kim Residence, he was stopped by guards that were in General Junho¡¯s army. The guard immediately recognized the royal emblem on the palanquin and had no choice but to let them through the gate. The slaves that were holding the palanquin gently placed it on the ground. One of the slaves knelt down at the entrance and allowed the prince to step on his back.
Prince Minho stood before the residence to see beautiful flowers growing in the gardens. He hadn¡¯t been out of the palace for a while and it felt nice. The only thing good about being a normal prince without the crown was being able to move around the kingdom freely. He wasn¡¯t restricted to remain in the palace grounds at all times.
Crown Prince Jimin didn¡¯t have much freedom because he needed to stay protected at all costs. He was the next in line to replace the Emperor if anything were to happen to the Emperor. Jimin wouldn¡¯t be able to get the support of General Junho so easily. If he wanted to destroy Jimin and his stupid face, he would have to gain General Junho¡¯s favor.
Minho began walking towards the estate to find where Yuna¡¯s room could be. He came across a servant that was having a difficult time carrying a bucket of water. He stopped the servant too hastily and some of the water splashed on his shoes. He began berating the stupid servant that was clumsy. He usually had a friendly mask on, but he couldn¡¯t stand water.
Ever since he was young, he had almost drowned to death and he hated the sight of water in lakes and buckets of water. He had aquaphobia and that caused him to explode when the maid spilled water on him. He immediately kicked the servant and said, ¡°You stupid idiot! Next time don¡¯t you dare get in my way! Do you hear? I¡¯m the second prince of this country. You know what the crimes of harming royalty is, right?¡±
He motioned with his fingers that her neck would be cut. The servant gulped in fear of being killed for irritating a royal. She shoved her forehead to the ground in hopes that she would be able to survive. She cried, ¡°I¡¯ll do anything. Please spare me, Prince. I won¡¯t ever be so clumsy next time.¡± The prince hmphed, ¡°Fine. I¡¯ll let it go this time, but I need some information from you. I would like to know the whereabouts of General Junho¡¯s daughter.¡±
The servant stuttered in response to his question, ¡°P¡Prince¡. I.. I can¡¯t tell you that information. Master Junho will kill me for telling you where the miss is. Please spare me.¡± Minho became enraged and grabbed her hair and pulled till the servant was whimpering in pain.
Before he decided to hurt the women any further, Junho arrived at the front of the entrance. He came home from training his soldiers and it was almost evening. He walked into this whole situation with the prince and his loyal servant. He wasn¡¯t interested in their squabble until he heard the reason for this spoiled kid¡¯s arrival. He was trying to get his hands on his daughter!
Junho coughed loudly to gain the attention from the prince. Minho was originally going to make the servant pay, but he noticed a large man standing at the entrance. When he looked up, he found that it was General Junho. There was a cold and dark aura coming from him and his eyes were glaring down at him so frighteningly. Minho could feel his legs grow weak from being in this man¡¯s presence.
The General broke the silence with his angry voice, ¡°What brings you here, boy? Did you come here to find my daughter? How dare you try to violate my daughter at night?¡± Minho looked up at the sky and noticed that it was almost sundown. He hadn¡¯t planned for it to be dark so soon.
General Junho¡¯s residence was quite far from the palace and so he spent most of the day getting there by palanquin. This taught him to ride a horse next time instead of having poor slaves carry him all the way there. He was somehow stuck in this misunderstanding because he wasted his time.
He was only hoping that the girl would be at the residence and notice him arrive on the palanquin. He wanted to gloat to the girl that he was a prince. She would easily fall for his ploy if she was just outside or if he found her before the general got here.
He tried to explain himself to the angry general, ¡°Sir, there is a misunderstanding. I just wanted to meet your daughter and I didn¡¯t realize that it was this dark. I came here by palanquin and it took a lot longer than I thought.¡±
The General felt disgusted looking at this kid that came to woo his daughter. He was such a puny little wimp that needed servants to carry him here instead of riding a horse himself. Who needed a coward as a son-in-law? He disliked him from the start. No scumbag was going to get married to his precious daughter.
He looked to be much older than his daughter and he didn¡¯t behave like a proper noble. He didn¡¯t even follow the etiquette in order to meet someone. They must always give prior notice before arriving and they must also meet at a proper time. He was outraged by the fact that this prince thought he could waltz in here thinking that he could meet his daughter in the middle of the night when most people were planning on going to bed?
This kid needed a spanking and he didn¡¯t care if he was a prince or not. The Emperor would let this slide, even if he were harming a royal. The Emperor knew the true nature of this kid and he was a slimy little brat that got whatever he wanted through dirty means. He didn¡¯t believe that he was as awful as what the Emperor had told him, but after meeting him in person, he couldn¡¯t help but agree with the Emperor.
This son-in-law wannabe wanted to woo his daughter so easily without any effort. Maybe he thought his pretty boy looks would impress him or even his daughter, but he wasn¡¯t fooling anybody. He was going to cut this before it goes anywhere.
The General replied to the boy¡¯s obvious rudeness, ¡°I¡¯d like to see you try to get past me. If you can get past me, I¡¯ll let you meet my daughter. If you fail to go past me, you will promise to never step foot in this household at all costs!¡±
Minho became angry and felt that the General was trying to humiliate him. He yelled, ¡°HOW DARE YOU DISRESPECT ROYALTY! I demand that you get down on your knees and apologize for disrespecting me!¡±
Junho didn¡¯t even budge an inch after listening to this pipsqueak speak. He roared with laughter, ¡°On what grounds? Do you have any way to make me kneel down? I don¡¯t think so. You may be a prince, but you have no power, my boy. You can¡¯t even lift a sword to protect your life. What makes you think that I would so easily kneel down and give you my loyalty.¡±
Minho was stuck trying to figure out how to get out of this situation. He only wanted to meet Yuna, but everything got messed up because of that stupid servant! Minho was defeated terribly by the scary general. He only had one choice but to leave with his tail between his legs. He wasn¡¯t given another chance to meet Yuna because she was always locked up in her room studying like a hermit.
Chapter 11
Yuna woke up to the sound of maids gossiping outside her window. The sunlight shined down on her eyes, causing her to scrunch her eyebrows. She could tell that today was going to be another throbbing headache. She was sick and tired of listening to gossip. People were always finding negative things to say about others regardless of if they were good people or not.

Chapter 12
Junho felt the need to get his daughter, Yuna a personal maid. It was getting dangerous for her as she got older. He had racked up a lot of enemies during the course of his lifetime. He had soldiers under him that were extraordinary with their sword and the majority of them were talented. He had trained them well.
He could initially send his guards to protect her, but he knew that there would be times when the soldiers or guards wouldn¡¯t be present. He wanted to find her a personal maid that was preferably her age or someone that was around her age. He knew that Yuna was a recluse and she didn¡¯t get along with most of the kids her age.
He couldn¡¯t stand watching Yuna live such a lonely life. He was busy as it was, and her mother was also terribly busy taking care of the household finances. He tried his best to spend time with her, but he couldn¡¯t be there at all times. His job was very demanding, and he couldn¡¯t neglect his duties. The Emperor needed him and that wasn¡¯t something he could ignore so lightly.
It was a matter of time before Yuna becomes anti-social and depressed. He always imagined that his daughter would become a happy little girl that enjoyed many things. He didn¡¯t expect to have a daughter that was so brilliant at everything. She was so extraordinary that the majority of her peers couldn¡¯t get along with her.

The only way was for him to help her find a friend to trust and share her secrets with. The secrets that couldn¡¯t be told to her parents. In his opinion, friends were particularly important in life. He had many friends that helped him become what he is today. He couldn¡¯t have made it if it weren¡¯t for his friends and family. The struggles of life weren¡¯t meant for only one person to bare.
He wanted Yuna to meet that person, regardless of how much she enjoyed her alone time. He didn¡¯t want her to become dependent on that sort of lifestyle. It wasn¡¯t healthy and he sure as hell couldn¡¯t let his daughter become unhealthy mentally and physically.
It wasn¡¯t easy for him to find Yuna, a personal maid. He had been observing Yuna for the last couple days, trying to figure out what type of person would get along with her. After observation, he discovered that Yuna didn¡¯t trust anyone around her. She hardly allowed the maids to serve her.
Junho became frustrated with his daughter¡¯s behavior. Why did she take all the responsibilities by herself when she could just ask the maids? He couldn¡¯t understand her logic. He also didn¡¯t like that Yuna kept to herself most of the time.
He began hiring many different types of maids in order to find at least one that would become friends with her. To his dismay, she remained a recluse for the majority of the time he spent on finding a trustworthy personal maid. He decided it would be best if he could spend more time with her. He had a way to get the Emperor to approve of his one day off. He deserved it, after going to war for him and serving under him for years.

The marketplace was filled with street side shops and activities. Yuna and her parents had a difficult time trying to get through the crowd. Many of them were pushing and shoving to get to their destinations. They kept getting stopped by street vendors that wanted to sell them various goods. Yuna¡¯s parents looked down at their daughter that held their hand tightly.

The slave trader wasn¡¯t able to make more snide remarks because her father had him breaking out in a cold sweat. Yuna didn¡¯t have to worry about being in danger with her father around. Most people already knew about his reputation and his achievements during the war. There was hardly anyone in the country of Guwon that didn¡¯t know about General Junho and his frightening personality.

Chapter 16
Sun was extremely intelligent. She had picked up the language of Guwon in nearly 1 year of interacting with the slave traders and foreigners. She didn¡¯t respond to most of Yuna¡¯s comments. She would rather pretend to be clueless of the language than deal with Yuna.
When Sun first arrived at the Kim Estate, she was treated very nicely by both the maids and Yuna herself. Sun wasn¡¯t being treated like a normal slave. She resided in a lavish room that was similar to Yuna¡¯s room. Most of the maids silently showed their jealousy when they noticed Sun¡¯s unusual special treatment. It was almost like Sun was the general¡¯s second daughter.
No one in the household, dared to bully Sun. It would be a death sentence waiting to happen. Sun found it unusual that Yuna kept coming into her room and worrying about her condition. She expected her to be like her aunt. Nice at first, but neglectful when it came to her needs. No matter how much she tried to seem like a foreigner that didn¡¯t understand the language, Yuna never fell for it.
Yuna tried to get Sun¡¯s attention, ¡°Hey, I know you can understand me. Stop ignoring me.¡± Sun remained stern with her lie. She wasn¡¯t used to getting this much attention and somehow felt happy about Yuna pestering her. She didn¡¯t want to admit it though. She peeked at Yuna through her unkempt hair.

Yuna had an exasperated expression, ¡°Fine, I¡¯ll just have to speak to you in your native language then.¡± Yuna switched to speaking in fluent Ezra (English), ¡°If you don¡¯t reply to me even after I speak your native language, I¡¯m going to start thinking that you¡¯re stupid. Is that ok with you?¡± Sun was utterly shocked. No one in Guwon would bother to learn the language of Ezra. She used to think all Guwon citizens were idiots.
Yuna¡¯s lips formed into a grin, ¡°You understood me, huh? Come on admit it. You know how to speak both Guwon and Ezra, right?¡± Sun caved after witnessing Yuna¡¯s perfect Ezraen, ¡°How did you know that I was from the Kingdom of Ezra?¡± Yuna pointed at Sun¡¯s light blonde hair, ¡°There¡¯s no other country that has people with blonde hair and blue eyes, but the Ezraen people. Don¡¯t be too shocked. I¡¯ve studied the language of Ezra in less than 5 months.¡±
Sun¡¯s expressionless face had a tinge of happiness after hearing her own native language after many years travelling to Guwon. She hid her smile and asked, ¡°Then, how do you know Ezraen? There shouldn¡¯t be anyone in Guwon that actually knows how to speak Ezraen.¡± Yuna sighed, ¡°Hasn¡¯t anyone told you how the war between our countries ended?¡±
Sun shook her head. She had to admit, she wasn¡¯t very well informed. She¡¯d been locked up in a cage most nights and during the day, she walked for miles with chains attached to her legs and hands. The chains scarred her wrist and ankles from having them on for years. Even though she wasn¡¯t branded like most slaves, she still had the clues from her scars.

The relationship between Sun and Yuna was a work in progress. Just like everything else in life, it required time. Yuna wasn¡¯t particularly good at socializing and Sun was on the same boat. Although they weren¡¯t the best of friends, Yuna could still feel that their friendship was at the budding stage. If she kept at it, eventually Sun would have to give in.

Chapter 18
Junho had finished his morning court rather early today and decided to visit his beloved daughter, Yuna. He hardly had the chance to spend time with her. She was always busy with her journey to attaining knowledge. He was busy with his work as usual. This was the only chance for him to make it up to Yuna.
When he arrived at his estate, he noticed a little girl that was sitting by the entrance. She looked unusually familiar to him. He strode towards the stranger to find out what she needed. He called out to her, ¡°Why have you come here? Who are you?¡±
The girl smiled and there were twinkles in her eyes. He didn¡¯t find her cute like his daughter at all. She seemed rather coy and deceptive. He was used to seeing gisaengs (prostitute) that behaved in a similar way. He wasn¡¯t interested in the gisaengs because he had a wife that he loved to death. He didn¡¯t have the time to spend at brothels, but he did know a few that came to the battlefield to appease the soldiers.
He didn¡¯t interact with them much, but he encountered a spy that was dressed as a gisaeng that behaved the same way the Haemi was behaving. He was used to deceit on the battlefield and it was much easier to read a person¡¯s actions when they weren¡¯t a well-trained soldier. The girl dressed provocatively for a young woman. He especially despised those that didn¡¯t know the virtues of being a proper woman.
Haemi answered him shyly, ¡°My name is Kim, Haemi and I am the daughter of the third son of the Kim Family. I am your niece. I wasn¡¯t given a chance to meet you, sir.¡± Junho didn¡¯t really care for his brother¡¯s family. He purposely chose to avoid that family. He despised his brother for his gambling addiction. He certainly wasn¡¯t curious about his other family members.
Junho scoffed, ¡°So what if you are my niece. Is there a reason for you to visit this uncle? We don¡¯t know each other. It would be best if you return to your residence and¡ ¡° Haemi cut him off, ¡°Uncle, I wasn¡¯t trying to be a bother, but as you can see, my carriage has broken down in front of your house and I need assistance. If you could be kind as to let me stay at your residence for one day.¡±
Enjoying this book? Seek out the original to ensure the author gets credit.
Haemi was too poor to afford a palanquin and had to resort to using borrowed carriages. She didn¡¯t care what she had to do to get a chance to meet Yuna. It wasn¡¯t easy for her. Junho could see through her lies. It was still morning and she was trying to stay a night at his residence. He disliked her from the start. He didn¡¯t know what her true motives were, but it didn¡¯t seem like a good idea. He refused, ¡°I cannot allow that. It is still daytime. I can arrange for you to get a new carriage. There shouldn¡¯t be any problems if my servants are fast.
Junho called the servants and ordered them to find Haemi a new carriage. He requested that they help her get back to her own residence. Haemi broke out in a cold sweat when she felt her plan was going astray from her original plan. She didn¡¯t have her own servants, but she had a few men that were infatuated with her.
Those men were ninjas that specialized in assassination. If she could get them to kill the servants, her uncle would have no choice but to let her reside in their household for a night. She would definitely be caught if the general witnessed her contacting the assassins. It would be best for her if she pretended to leave with the servants and got her men to get rid of them secretly.
Then all she had to do was come back to the residence with blood on her clothes and tears in her eyes. They would have no choice but to let her in. Haemi followed the servants back with a brand-new carriage. Junho wiped off the dirty feeling he felt and walked into the residence.
Meanwhile on the journey back to her household, she demanded the men to stop the carriage. She jumped out from the carriage and told them that she needed to find a restroom. She was familiar with the area and had an advantage against the general¡¯s guards. They weren¡¯t used to the countryside where her household was located.

Haemi¡¯s attractive face was reflected on the lake¡¯s surface. She wasn¡¯t expecting Yuna to be staring at that reflection. Haemi was beautiful, but the expression on her face made her look devious. Chapter 25
The empress beamed with happiness when she heard Princess Ara¡¯s response. Her plans were accomplished fairly quickly. She knew that the princess would have no choice in the matter. It was evident that the princess would play into her plans. There was no way out of it for her.
After the empress and emperor presented their gifts, it was now time for the princes and princesses to hand out their gifts. The first in line was none other than Prince Jimin. Yuna wasn¡¯t paying much attention to the princes and princesses during this whole event. She finally paid attention to the prince that she hadn¡¯t met in her previous life.
Prince Jimin was only 3 years older than her, but he was already looking like a full-grown adult. His sharp features resembled a clean appearance that made him look like a male model. His eyebrows weren¡¯t as thick as Minho¡¯s, but that didn¡¯t make him look any less handsome than Minho.
At the age of 15, Prince Jimin was known as a heart throb that swept the nation with his prince charming persona. He had a bubbly personality that went well with his sweet and innocent appearance. Most of his fans were females that were obsessed. He was the perfect crown prince that had the good looks and the morality that went along with his perfect look.
Yuna wasn¡¯t particularly interested in the good-looking prince charming. He had some major flaws in his thinking that caused Yuna to hesitate when associating with the prince. He had a strong sense of justice when it came to his citizens. The only problem with this was that he did not see the true intentions of some of these citizens.

He was born with a gold spoon and he did not realize that the world is not a place made from rainbows and unicorns. The reason for his demise was because he was easily fooled by Prince Minho and the Empress. The Emperor favored the crown prince, and his position was at the top. Majority of his friends and admirers were frankly attracted to him for his position and his good looks. None were truly in love with him for his personality.
Yuna felt sorry for the guy. She could definitely understand his way of thinking because she was the same. She had met the same demise because of the same reasons. People were deceptive in the palace and she didn¡¯t realize any of it before it was too late.
Prince Jimin¡¯s smile beamed brightly at the princess and all the females, ¡°Sister, I¡¯ve been waiting to see your reaction after giving you my birthday gift. I hope you like it.¡± The horde of females all cheered when the prince spoke. There were hearts flying in the air. As soon as the prince handed her the gift, she opened it to find out that it was a music box. Princess Ara was given a music box that was elaborately decorated with intricate patterns on the sides. She opened the box not knowing how beautiful it was.

Chapter 27
The Empress noticed that her husband was planning on allowing this request and felt irritated. She wanted to kill this girl on the spot when she heard her intentions. She could not let some little girl ruin her plans. She painstakingly convinced the Emperor to marry her off and this little girl was standing in the way.
Before the Emperor could speak, the Empress cut him off, ¡°How can we believe that you are a capable teacher? You are just a little girl. I don¡¯t think that you can offer any kind of education that would be helpful for the princess.¡±
Yuna unexpectedly countered the Empress, ¡°Would you believe me if I proved it to you?¡± The Empress scoffed, ¡°I would like to see you try. How would you like to test your knowledge, little girl? I don¡¯t think you¡¯ll be able to answer any of the questions that I have for you. I doubt that you¡¯d be able to teach Princess Ara. She¡¯s much older than you. What makes you think you can just become a teacher without any credibility?¡±
The Emperor added on, ¡°I do agree with the Empress on this one. I find it difficult to trust that you could teach Princess Ara with your age and all. If you could prove it to us, maybe we could allow your request. If you cannot answer the questions, I¡¯m afraid that we will have to deny the request.¡±
Stolen novel; please report.
Yuna was unfazed despite everyone¡¯s doubt towards her. She was used to people judging her without actually getting to know her. It wasn¡¯t unusual for most to doubt her especially since she looked younger than most 12-year-old girls. She was ready for whatever question they would ask. Yuna was determined, ¡°I can answer any questions you may ask, so please go ahead.¡±
The Empress decided to let her husband ask the questions. After all, she wasn¡¯t the smart one in the relationship. She just wanted to see the little girl struggle. If her husband asked the questions, she had no worries. All she had to do was sit back and watch the show. The Empress wasn¡¯t worried one bit about the result.
The Emperor said, ¡°I¡¯ll ask you a total of 3 questions so that we could make sure that you can keep up with the Princesses studies. They may be even harder for a prince to answer. I just want to make sure that Princess Ara gets the best education she can get. If you can¡¯t answer the question, no one will blame you. So please feel reassured.¡±
The questions that the Emperor were planning to ask were extremely difficult. The Emperor did not know the answer himself but wanted to ask them regardless of how difficult they were. He wanted to see how she would answer the question. If she failed, he would then ask the princes.
He already knew that the little girl in front of him wouldn¡¯t be able to answer the questions. He also knew that the whole kingdom was at this party. He wanted to find someone that could answer the questions and then implement the procedures to better his kingdom. This was an opportunity for him to get opinions from the public.

Chapter 31
Once everyone was done performing for Princess Ara, the palace servants began serving elaborate dishes. Each dish was carefully designed to appeal to the royals and nobles. Most of the food came with alcohol. There was no age limit for drinking alcohol in Guwon, so many of the teenagers were found drinking shot after shot.
Yuna wasn¡¯t interested in drinking so she focused on her meal. She especially enjoyed eating the vegetable dishes that were served. Her mother noticed that Yuna hardly had any meat, so she kept piling her plate with various foods. She ate her food elegantly and didn¡¯t feel the need to rush. After a few bites, Yuna felt full.
Yuna felt uncomfortable after sitting in her seat for a long time throughout the whole party, so she decided to ditch the party and walk around the garden. Plus, she was too young to enjoy alcohol. She didn¡¯t plan on sticking around and socializing any longer. The royal garden had a stunning view with the many flowers and pagodas. There was even a lake that contained colorful fish. The lake was decorated with paper lanterns that were shaped to look like a flower.
When Yuna got up from her seat, Prince Minho was the first to notice that she was leaving. This was his chance! He was constantly waiting for the opportunity to catch Yuna when she was alone. Luckily, Prince Jimin was occupied with drinking alcohol with his buddies. He wasn¡¯t paying any attention to Yuna at that moment. Minho got up from his seat hastily to catch up with Yuna.

Yuna on the other hand, had no clue. She wandered into the garden to view the flowers. She followed the pathway that led her throughout the garden. She was so focused on the stunning view that she didn¡¯t notice when the path became more complicated. The palace had a complicated design, and most people would become lost if they weren¡¯t normally living in it.
As time passed, Yuna became worried. She had no clue where to go to get back to the party. While trying to remember the way back, she felt someone¡¯s presence behind her. It felt like someone was watching her secretly. Yuna didn¡¯t like the feeling of being watched. She turned around and saw Prince Minho leisurely strolling through the garden towards her.
Her eyebrows knit when she saw his handsome face in the flowers. Although he was handsome, she didn¡¯t see it. She used to praise him for his looks, but after getting to know his true self, he grew uglier to her. His personality shaped a hideous monster and that led her to see him as nothing but a monster. He was such a narcissist and a sweet talker, she felt like vomiting when she saw him.
Yuna fled in the other direction in hopes of finding a good hiding place. She wasn¡¯t mentally prepared to deal with Minho. She didn¡¯t want to be stuck catering to his wishes. He would probably use his position to trap her into his web. She had so many plans for a different future and she definitely didn¡¯t want to get married to Minho again.

Chapter 32
Yuna had her head bowed for a while, but the boy ignored her. It soon became awkward when he didn¡¯t say anything to her apology. Her neck started to hurt after having her head bowed for a while and so she looked up at him.
He wasn¡¯t glaring at her, but he was staring at her awkwardly. She noticed that his hair was sticking up and there were leaves in his hair. Looking at his appearance, it seemed that the thing that she tripped over earlier must¡¯ve been him. His eyes indicated that he was sleeping earlier. Why would someone sleep behind bushes? She was curious.
She lifted her hand to remove the leaves that were in his hair but stopped when she noticed him flinching. She instantly put her hand back down and stared back at him in apology. She broke the silence with her apology, ¡°I¡¯m sorry for bothering you. I¡¯ll take my leave.¡±
Before Yuna could walk away, his beautiful hands wrapped around her wrist lightly. He finally responded to her, ¡°Wait.¡± She looked down at his hand and felt her face burn up. She¡¯s never had any physical contact with
men, except her father. He abruptly let go of her wrist, almost as if he were disgusted with her touch. She felt irritated by his action. She didn¡¯t react to him negatively because she didn¡¯t know his circumstances. Maybe he just didn¡¯t like touching people or was a germaphobe. She had no clue.

He dug through his sleeves and pulled out an ointment bottle. She realized instantly that he stopped her so that he could take care of the wound on her arm. The wound seemed to be deeper than she thought, blood was dripping down her arm. She couldn¡¯t have him dress her wound. She shook her head at him, ¡°It¡¯s okay. You don¡¯t need to do that. It¡¯s just a tiny scratch.¡±
He didn¡¯t listen to her and tore the bottom of his expensive quality shirt. He then poured the contents of the medicine into the cloth. He dabbed the wound on her arm lightly. She winced when the cloth touched her skin. After cleaning out the wound, he tore off a bit more of his shirt to wrap her wound.
She felt herself turning a bright red when she noticed that the boy was showing his abs. She tried her best not to stare, but it was right in front of her. How could she look away when it was in plain sight? When he tightened the shirt around her wound, she yelped in pain. He instantly
regretted tying the shirt too tightly. He apologized, ¡°I¡¯m sorry. Did that hurt?¡±
She saw the worry in his eyes and decided to forgive him. It wasn¡¯t really a big deal and he was helping her dress the wound on her arm. She coughed to cover up her awkward behavior, ¡°It doesn¡¯t hurt that much. Thank you for helping me. I can pay you back for the medicine. How much should I give you?¡± She began looking for the bag of money that was tied to her waist.

Chapter 35
The ninjas were elated when the outcome of their battle was leaning towards their favor. The queen had hired a group of ninja assassins to eliminate Prince Jimin and Yuna. She thought it would be good to get rid of both at this party. It would be like killing two birds with one stone. She pretended to be a victim while watching the ninjas fight off the royal guards.
This whole incident started with Prince Jimin getting shot by an arrow. Luckily, the arrow did not hit a vital spot in his organs. It had shot him on his right arm. The nobles that were having a great time became terrified. They were frightened by the hordes of ninjas that leaped over the walls in great numbers. The palace became a mayhem. There were people running for their lives while ninjas were killing people left and right.
During the fight, General Junho acted by slaying many of the assassins that threatened the royal family¡¯s lives. She didn¡¯t expect that the general was so formidable. She thought his victory on the battlefield was just rumors, but after watching Junho fight off a group of assassins by himself, she felt irritated. He was getting in her way. While General Junho was distracted with a horde of assassins, there were a few that began to chase his daughter.
She grinned at the situation. Yuna did have a strong weapon, but she could not overpower the ninjas. They eventually tackled her to the ground and there was no chance she would survive. Too bad that her father was busy fighting off hundreds of ninjas. He did not see the dangerous situation Yuna was in. She kept hitting the ninja with all her strength, but it was not enough.

Just when his sword was aimed at her heart, a boy leapt towards the ninjas that threatened Yuna¡¯s life. He kicked the sword out of the ninjas grasp and delivered a punch to his skull. The assassin KO¡¯d with one hit to his temple. The boy was extremely strong. His moves were so deadly, that the ninjas couldn¡¯t even fight back.
Yuna watched him as he fought off the hordes of ninjas that came running towards them. He was lying earlier when he said he wasn¡¯t that good at martial arts. He was exceptionally talented in martial arts. He fought them off without much effort.
Yuna remained close to the boy while he fought off all the assassins. The number of assassins dwindled greatly after both General Junho and the boy fought. The remaining ninjas retreated when they noticed that the battle had turned and both the general and the boy were gradually killing off their brethren. They attempted to flee, but the General captured all of them.
General Junho grabbed the ninjas mask to quickly discover their faces and to question them. He would get them to confess who their leader was. If he had to resort to torturing these assassins, he would do so without any hesitation. Before he could begin the torture, the ninjas all bit into something. The captured ninjas all dropped to the ground dead.

Chapter 38
The next day, Yuna woke up in her bedroom. The last thing she remembered was talking to her father about the truth. She felt a huge weight was lifted off her shoulders. She assumed that she fell asleep in her father¡¯s office and he must¡¯ve taken her to her bedroom.
Yuna dug through her wardrobe and found a cool outfit for a leisurely summer day. While preparing her outfit, some maids barged into her room. She found it odd that they came into her bedroom because she never liked that the maids would help her dress up. She was used to dressing herself up and getting ready for the day on her own. Although she had the luxury to do so, she didn¡¯t like it.
Yuna asked, ¡°Why are you in my bedroom? I didn¡¯t call for you.¡± One of the maids lowered her head in apology, ¡°Miss, we¡¯ve been instructed by Madam to help you dress up to go to the palace.¡± The rest of the maids brought in an excessively luxurious dress that was usually worn by noble ladies. She didn¡¯t seem so happy about the outfit her mother picked out and she groaned, ¡°You want me to wear that? Are you sure my mother asked me to wear that?¡±
The maid that spoke began breaking out in a cold sweat, ¡°I¡¯m deeply sorry. The Madam insisted that you wear this dress to the palace. She hopes that you will look appropriate when visiting the royal family.¡± Yuna doubted that her mother would have her wear such a gaudy dress. It didn¡¯t seem appropriate at all. Something seemed suspicious, but she didn¡¯t want to alert the mastermind behind this scheme.

Yuna accepted the help of all the maids without a single protest. The maids did their work by putting make up on her and fixing her hair. The maids then began dressing her up in multiple layers of clothing. She felt suffocated and it was extremely hot inside all the layers of clothing. She was dressed like an eskimo that didn¡¯t know it was 100 degrees outside.
After the maids finished dressing her up, the majority of them began rushing her out the door. Their behavior was very suspicious. It seemed that these maids had an ulterior motive and none of Yuna¡¯s opinions mattered.
When she felt that something was up, she shoved the maids away from her and shouted, ¡°What kind of behavior is this? First off, all of you barged into my room without asking first. Then you try to dress me up in obnoxious clothing and now you¡¯re rushing me out the door without giving me any say in the matter. Don¡¯t you think you¡¯re being a bit too rude? Especially since you should be working for our family.¡±
The couple of maids that were shoved away, began glaring at her. The maid that first spoke to Yuna complained, ¡°Is that all you have to say after we worked so hard to dress you up? You¡¯re the rude one. We¡¯re just doing our job.¡± Yuna could tell that none of these maids actually worked for their family. The maids that worked in her family were usually frightened by her father. They would never talk back to Yuna in this way unless they were hired by someone else.

Yuna felt herself being lifted up. The maid grunted in frustration when they realized how heavy Yuna was. They were trained to be much stronger than normal maids, but they never had to carry someone over the wall. One of the maids complained, ¡°She¡¯s way too heavy! How are we supposed to climb over when she¡¯s not doing anything at all? Let¡¯s get her to climb the wall willingly.¡±

Chapter 40
Yuna never had the chance to meet him in her past life so she had no clue of the relationship between her father and him. She wondered how they met and how they became so close. Maybe it was fate like he¡¯d mentioned, but she didn¡¯t believe in it. She¡¯d rather believe that all the choices that were made were her own free will. It would be depressing to think that everything in life resorted to a fate instead of free will.

Chapter 41
Just as he lost all hope of surviving, a girl shouted at the shopkeeper. The girl was dressed lavishly, and most could tell that she came from a prominent family. The guards that surrounded her were enough to be considered a princess. He had no clue who this girl was, but she was willing to help him. She shouted, ¡°STOP! Look what you¡¯ve done to him? Can¡¯t you see that he¡¯s hurt badly?¡±

Chapter 42
Yuna caught him staring at her for a long time. She wondered, ¡°What are you thinking about so deeply?¡± Eunho was caught off guard. He was too immersed in his thoughts; he forgot that she was right in front of him. He responded, ¡°It¡¯s nothing. By the way, why did you fall off the wall? Where are you going?¡±
Yuna thought it would be better to let him know, especially since he was going to protect her in the future. Her eyebrows scrunched up when she thought about her kidnappers that failed. She answered his question, ¡°I wasn¡¯t trying to run away or anything. Why would I? This is my own home. There were a couple of maids that were trying to take me somewhere. I have no clue. They couldn¡¯t get through the front gates, so they tried to sneak me out over the wall.¡±
He frowned, ¡°So they were trying to kidnap you? Why didn¡¯t you tell me sooner? They must¡¯ve gotten away by now.¡± Yuna felt stupid for not letting him know sooner. She was too focused on meeting Eunho that she didn¡¯t care about the kidnappers that almost succeeded. She apologized, ¡°I¡¯m sorry. I should¡¯ve told you sooner.¡± She stared down at her hands guiltily.
Eunho frowned, ¡°What did I say about saying sorry?¡± She glanced up at him once she was reminded of what he said before. He didn¡¯t like it when she apologized. She tried to explain herself, ¡°There¡¯s nothing wrong with me apologizing. Isn¡¯t that the polite thing to do?¡± His frown became a scowl, ¡°You did nothing wrong, so why should you be the one to apologize?¡±

She had no way to please him. He didn¡¯t like it when she apologized, and he wasn¡¯t happy with her for not telling him her situation. He was so hard to deal with. She¡¯s never had anyone care for her in this way for a long time. Obviously, she didn¡¯t count her parents in this lifetime and in her past. She never had a guy care for her, so she had no clue what to do to appease his anger. Why was he so angry in the first place?
She asked, ¡°Why are you so upset? It¡¯s not like you were going to get kidnapped. I should be the one that¡¯s upset, not you.¡± She had a point; he shouldn¡¯t be feeling this upset unless he had feelings for her. Of course, he wasn¡¯t going to let her know how he felt. Eunho spent his last lifetime hiding his feelings, it wouldn¡¯t be too hard to do the same in this lifetime.
He explained, ¡°I¡¯m not upset, so calm down. I just wanted to find out who was behind the attempted kidnapping. Do you have a clue as to who would want to harm you?¡± Yuna could not tell him the full details. She was willing to tell her father about her reincarnation, but she didn¡¯t want to tell Eunho. He would probably think she was crazy if she did.
There was no way of concealing that part of the story if she told him the Empress and Prince Minho were possible threats. She¡¯d have to explain to him how she knew they were the culprits. She had no concrete evidence. In the end, she chose to keep it from him. She was sure that he¡¯d find out later.

Chapter 43
Yuna was extremely light, especially since she looked younger than her peers. Although they were similar in age, Yuna was a lot lighter than what Eunho expected. He placed her on the bed, but afterwards, he didn¡¯t know where to look. Yuna¡¯s face and his were very close and there was an ambiguous atmosphere that caused both of them to become awkward.
What was Eunho supposed to do when he was in the room of the woman he loved. His one-sided crush wasn¡¯t going away any time soon. He obviously didn¡¯t know how to act in front of her. Their interactions weren¡¯t as smooth as he had wanted. He felt defeated every time he spoke to her. He had a hard time trying to get his feelings across. He¡¯d had the same issue in his previous life.
He gently placed her on the bed and looked away from her in a hurry. He couldn¡¯t let her see his expression. Yuna observed his reaction. She could tell that he was easily flustered when he was around her. She initially thought that he was going to be a cold jerk, but after getting to know him more, it seemed that he didn¡¯t know how to interact with girls. He was a lot purer and more innocent than she had originally thought.
Once he calmed down a bit, he turned his head back towards her direction. She wasn¡¯t expecting him to face her and this caused his lips to brush against hers. Her body froze instantly, and her eyes grew wide with shock. His eyes shook when their lips touched. She had never come across anyone that had this sort of reaction.

She felt butterflies in her stomach and her hands were unusually clammy. Her face turned a shade of red. Eunho quickly moved away from her and tried his best to act like nothing had happened. He coughed, ¡°I¡¯ll let you get changed. I need to let your father know about this. I don¡¯t think it¡¯d be smart to visit the palace after almost being kidnapped.¡±
He quickly ran away from her. Yuna hadn¡¯t heard anything he said. She was lost in thought about how a random person had stolen her first kiss. His lips were so soft against hers. She began rubbing the spot on her lips that brushed against his. Her fingers were not as soft as his lips.
She shook her head back and forth to clear her mind. What was she thinking? She didn¡¯t have the time to be immersed in any romantic relationships. She should be spending her time on trying to find out ways to avoid her death. She looked at her reflection through her dresser mirror.
She wasn¡¯t all that beautiful. She looked like a little girl and he didn¡¯t know anything about her. Why would he like her? There was no way that Eunho would feel anything towards her. He proved it by walking away like nothing happened. It¡¯s what Minho would have done in this situation.

It was later decided that Yuna would get proper time to rest after the attempted kidnapping. Eunho was able to get a doctor to take a look at Yuna. The doctor wasn¡¯t too worried about her condition. She had a minor heat stroke. Both Sun and her mother helped her cool down and rest. After her father got home, he decided it would be best for Eunho to stay at their residence to protect Yuna from any danger.

Chapter 45
Yuna was in for a rude awakening when she thought her day was going to be a peaceful one. She woke up to the sounds of soldiers groaning miserably outside her bedroom. What was going on out there? Yuna slid her window open to take a peek.
There were a countless number of soldiers that were found sprawled all across the courtyard. General Eunho was standing over them with a look of contempt directed at their scared faces. He shouted, ¡°Is that all you got? You should be ashamed of yourselves! I expected the greatest army to be filled with talent, but all I see is a pathetic bunch of whiners. Get up, right now!¡±
The soldiers scrambled to their feet. They formed a straight line in front of Eunho. All the soldiers knew that if they didn¡¯t get up immediately, they would definitely not see tomorrow. Eunho observed the soldiers that were lined up in front of him. He sparred with each of them to see if they were truly the talented soldiers that helped General Junho through the war. It didn¡¯t seem to be the case.
None of them were able to lay a single finger on Eunho throughout the sparring. He was greatly disappointed with how much they were lacking. It became clear to Eunho that Yuna¡¯s father was the main factor for the victories. It became evident that the soldiers were lacking in many things. He had his work cut out for him if he wanted to train them to become stronger.
This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it
He went through the line of soldiers and informed them on what needed to be done to work on their problem areas. Some lacked in endurance and some were not physically fit to hold a sword properly. He wondered how they were able to survive the treacherous battlefield. Just as he was getting closer to the end of the line, he noticed someone that shouldn¡¯t be there.
Yuna stood at the very end of the line with her long hair tied up into a ponytail. She wore men¡¯s clothes that were comfortable enough to train. He was surprised to see her in line with the rest of the soldiers. She clearly didn¡¯t belong with the unruly men surrounding her. She was a petite girl that looked out of place. The men were a lot taller and muscular compared to her.
He frowned when he noticed that her clothes were too revealing. Her sleeves were cut short into a t-shirt fashion. He had never seen any female dress this way in all his years of living. He couldn¡¯t place the feeling he felt when he noticed her thin arms. His heart raced inside his chest, but at the same time his stomach turned when he noticed that all the soldiers were also looking at her arms.
He caught a couple of them staring at her with lustful gazes. His hand formed into a fist. He made sure to bop them on the head for looking at her inappropriately. After punishing them, he walked over to Yuna. As soon as he was in front of her, their eyes met.

Chapter 46
While Eunho was busy training with the soldiers, Yuna rushed to her father¡¯s room in hopes of catching him before he left for work. She was sure that he would be home since it was still early. Just as she turned the corner, she ran into her father. He frowned at her petite figure on the ground after running into him. She was way too clumsy for her own good.
He helped her up and asked, ¡°Shouldn¡¯t you still be in bed? Why are you up so early?¡± She replied, ¡°I needed to talk to you about something important before you left for work.¡± He still had a while till he needed to be at work, so he easily agreed, ¡°Then, lets go into my office to chat. I still have a while till I need to be at work.¡±
Yuna sat on the guest seat across from his desk. She didn¡¯t have much time to waste since he had to be at work. She got straight to the point without beating around the bush, ¡°I¡¯d like to receive training from General Eunho, if that¡¯s okay.¡± Junho did not expect that she¡¯d ask for his permission to train. He didn¡¯t like the idea one bit.
He didn¡¯t want to see his daughter with bruises and scars on her body. Who would ever want to marry her in the future, if her body was in a terrible state? He was covered in bruises, cuts, and his hands had long grown calluses from long-term sword use.
Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
He frowned, ¡°I don¡¯t think that training would be a great idea. I want you to live like any ordinary noble girl. I don¡¯t want you to live a life of pain and suffering. Learning the sword and being able to fight come with a price. I don¡¯t think that you would be fit to wield a sword. I can accept any request that you have, but not this one.¡±
Yuna hardly asked for anything and when she did, she asked for something that was impossible. There was no female in history that was proficient with the sword and he did not want to see his daughter to be covered in cuts and bruises. The thought of her with any injury, made him feel sick to his stomach.
He couldn¡¯t let her have any ideas or else she would follow through with her plans. He knew her very well and any idea that sprung up in her tiny little mind would become reality. He knew that she was an idealist and those brilliant ideas of hers all became true. He had seen the miracles that happened whenever Yuna put her mind to it.
It saddened him to see that she wasn¡¯t like any ordinary girl out there. She was a strange girl and her passion for knowledge scared him. Her ideas were out of this world. The reason why it scared him so much, is because her ideas could turn the world upside down in a second. She shook the world with her strange ideas, and it was also a cause for disaster.
Many noble families were against some of her ideas because it could cause a major shift in their positions. They could not let anything get in their way of success. He could already see that some have repositioned themselves against their family. He wouldn¡¯t be surprised to see more kidnappings and attempted assassinations to their family in the near future.

Chapter 48
Eunho was hesitant in telling her his requirements to become his student. He didn¡¯t want to see her prove him wrong. He intentionally planned on making the request a difficult one to prevent her from pursuing her goals of becoming his student.
He listed out his requirements, ¡°In order to become my student, I have certain requirements that need to be met. A good martial artist must have a great foundation for the basics. It¡¯s important that any martial artist should have the strength and endurance to continue learning advanced techniques. It may sound like an easy task, but my requirements a bit different. If you¡¯ve been trained by anyone else, it may just be a simple exercise. That is not the case for me.¡±
Yuna certainly knew that whatever his requirements, it wouldn¡¯t be an easy one. She was determined to meet his requirements with all that she had. He continued, ¡°I¡¯m someone that believes that the basics are essential in martial arts. Many have tried to meet my requirements but have failed. I¡¯m sure that you won¡¯t be able to accomplish what I require.¡±
Yuna was eager to hear his requirements, ¡°I understand, so get to the point.¡±
Eunho frowned at her being impatient, ¡°Fine, I¡¯ll tell you the requirements, but I¡¯m warning you. It¡¯s not going to be easy.¡± She was frustrated, ¡°Yeah, I get the point. I know it¡¯s not easy, but you¡¯ll see. I can do it. I know I can.¡±
Stolen content warning: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences.
He was reluctant, but he had no choice, ¡°I have a strict training regimen and it requires that any and all of my soldiers be able to lift a 100kg boulder above their shoulders. This task is so difficult, that most have tried for over 10 years. It¡¯s nearly impossible to accomplish.¡±
He exaggerated a bit to get her to feel discouraged. Many of his soldiers could not lift a 100kg boulder. He fudged the number a bit. He required most of his men to lift at least a 70kg boulder, but not 100kg. He knew that if his soldiers had a difficult time with a 70kg boulder, she most definitely wouldn¡¯t be able to accomplish 100kg. It was humanely impossible, especially since her physique was so petite. If she could lift that much weight, he would probably believe that this world was nothing but a creation by some author out there.
He continued to exaggerate his requirements, ¡°Another one of my requirements is for any martial artist to be able to train their body through consistent exercise to build stamina and endurance. My training regimen involves 1,000 push-ups, 1,000 pull-ups, and 1,000 sit-ups. Another thing is that I require that my soldiers run at least 30 miles per day. If you can¡¯t accomplish any of this, I¡¯m afraid I won¡¯t be able to train you.¡±
Yuna was smart and she knew that he fudged the numbers, but she was willing to try. Even if she had to train rigorously until the point of extreme exhaustion. She would make it happen. She nodded, ¡°How much time will you give me?¡±

Chapter 50
Namjoo was used to living as a male. Her father had always wanted male children to the point of being delusional. He refused to accept that his first child was a female. He forced her to dress up as a male since she was young. She was also an only child. Her mother had passed away giving birth to her. It was only natural for her father to hide her gender.
She didn¡¯t have any desire to live the rest of her life as female because she enjoyed the privileges of being male. She lived in a male driven society that looked down on females. She also excelled at martial arts which prevented her from revealing her gender. She wouldn¡¯t mind living the rest of her life without getting married.
She¡¯d never expect that her secret would easily be revealed by a little boy. The boy looked suspicious. He had a cloak on that was too big for his size. The only reason why he would dress this way would be to hide himself. The only reason she could think of was that he wanted to peep at women while bathing.
She felt the urge to punish the little brat for being so perverted. He was so petite for a young boy, she kind of felt bad for the boy. She assumed that he was a beggar. His clothes were shabby, and he reeked like a beggar. The only thing that caught her eye was his unusually feminine features. She couldn¡¯t help but wonder if he was also disguised like herself.
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
She highly doubted that this was the case. There was no way any normal female would dress up as male. She¡¯d met countless noble ladies that enjoyed their lives. They were caught up in the arts; painting, singing, playing instruments, making tea, and embroidering. They were preoccupied with training to become a good wife.
Most women were weak, and they wouldn¡¯t want to live as a male even if they were given power and privilege. Most would accept the life that they were supposed to live as female. Namjoo knew for sure that she wouldn¡¯t want that sort of lifestyle. She was too stubborn to accept being a housewife forever.
She enjoyed martial arts and the way it made her feel exhilarated. Each accomplishment made her appreciate the proper steps it took to achieve her dream. No matter how much effort she put in, there was always something new to learn. She would never grow tired of training. She discovered that martial arts not only developed her strength, but it also strengthened her mentality and her spirit.
While lost in thought, the boy struggled and kicked towards her. The boy shouted, ¡°LET ME GO!¡± Namjoo didn¡¯t budge an inch from Yuna¡¯s kicks. None of Yuna¡¯s attempts to escape worked. Namjoo kept her at arm¡¯s length without much effort. Yuna continued to struggle, ¡°CAN¡¯T YOU HEAR ME? LET ME GO! I didn¡¯t do anything wrong, so why won¡¯t you let me go?¡±

Chapter 53
Namjoo and Yuna successfully arrived at the marketplace. Namjoo directed Yuna to the Weapons & Armor shop that was located not too far from the Town Square. When she first walked into the shop, a musky scent masked the entire store. The walls were covered with high quality swords and other weapons.
Yuna had no clue on what type of weapon would fit her best. She decided that it¡¯d be better to wait on buying a weapon until she began her actual martial arts training. She¡¯d have to just look for the right gear to workout in. Namjoo was used to purchasing from the weapon shop.
She easily navigated through the store while looking for things she needed for herself. Yuna took her time looking around the shop. She didn¡¯t need to buy weapons, so she kept walking through the vast shop. When she arrived at the front counter, she came across a man that was seated comfortably. He had a book the covered his face. It appeared as if the man had snoozed off to sleep while at work.
Yuna didn¡¯t expect to come across a man reading in a weapons and armor shop, especially the store owner. He seemed too lax to be the owner. She lightly knocked on the wooden counter to wake him. The man snorted awake when he heard the loud knocking noises. The book the was on his face fell on his big toe, causing the man to howl in pain. Yuna couldn¡¯t believe what she was seeing.
If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it.
Is the man capable of fighting if he can¡¯t even withstand a book falling on his feet? She doubted his credibility when she noticed how clumsy he was. Yuna thought that the owner of a weapons shop would appear as a well-seasoned warrior, not this librarian looking guy. The pain on his big toe caused him to lose his footing when he got up from his chair.
He hit his head on the counter with a thud. He grumbled painfully, ¡°Mother of pearl! That hurts so badly! Who in their right mind would write such a d*mn heavy book anyway? It was my fault for thinking that reading could help me in anyway. Wait till I get hands on that st*pid Hanwool!¡± Yuna interrupted his curses with a loud cough.
The man was startled by the customer that was glaring at him. He straightened out his attire and grinned at the customer. ¡°So, what brings
you here? Need to buy any weapons from our shop? Sorry about earlier.¡± Yuna ignored his previous actions and got straight to the point, ¡°I¡¯ve been looking for some armor. Something easy to move around in.¡±
The shop owner¡¯s expression changed to one of delight and sung out annoyingly, ¡°Anything for the customer. Right this way, young man.¡± He directed Yuna to the back of the store where there were mannequins lined up. The gear was lined up in an orderly fashion to entice many customers to make big purchases.

Chapter 55
To the Weapon Master¡¯s dismay, Yuna wasn¡¯t interested in the rest of the items. He brought out all sorts of products, but none interested the kid. He felt frustrated since he had to run back and forth to find these items in his storage. He tried everything, but the kid wouldn¡¯t budge. He didn¡¯t want to buy anything!
WM Chong grumbled, ¡°It¡¯s obvious that nothing suits your taste. What can I do?¡± Yuna smiled, ¡°I¡¯m very disappointed in everything that you¡¯ve brought to me. There isn¡¯t anything here that I¡¯m interested in. It seems that I need to go shop elsewhere.¡±
WM Chong refused to let the kid go so easily. He wasted all his time trying to get him to buy something, only to be deemed as useless. He felt that all his years as the best blacksmith in the region to be a lie. He worked so hard to create masterpieces that were coveted throughout the globe. He didn¡¯t expect to find a difficult customer.
For some odd reason, it made him feel inspired to create more masterpieces. He was growing tired of making the same things over and
over again, he didn¡¯t realize that his so called ¡®masterpieces¡¯ were just okay for Yuna. Yuna had seen countless quality products from high-end luxurious stores in the modern world. None of these goods could make her bend over backwards to buy the product.

WM Chong questioned Yuna, ¡°If none of these items suit your taste, then what could possibly be something that you¡¯re looking for? I¡¯ve searched my entire store to find the right gear for you, yet none of these suits your taste. If the masterpieces that I¡¯ve developed don¡¯t satisfy you, then who else in the world would be able to make good product?¡±
WM Chong was bent on trying to get Yuna to purchase something from him. He had never lowered his pride to match the customer. He was used to having the upper hand when it came to bargaining a price. He wasn¡¯t a successful shop owner yet, but he tried everything to sell his goods at the max price for the very few customers that did show up at his shop.
Yuna did not disappoint when it came to bargaining. She looked the shopkeeper straight in the eye and told him she wasn¡¯t buying anything from him. WM Chong cried in desperation, ¡°What more do you want from
me! I¡¯ve tried everything to sell you my best products! Nothing seems to be what you want. I¡¯ve never met any customer like you!¡± He cried pitifully into his sleeves. Yuna sighed, ¡°Okay, fine. If you¡¯re that desperate to sell me something. I¡¯ll buy that hanbok or whatever you were talking about.¡±
WM Chong instantly stopped his crocodile tears and joyfully packed up the hanbok for Yuna. He said, ¡°That¡¯ll be a 1000 gold.¡± Yuna frowned, ¡°You¡¯re really going to charge 1000 gold for that piece of garbage? I think I should head somewhere else.¡± The shopkeeper stopped the boy from leaving, ¡°Wait! I¡¯ll lower it to 500 gold, just for you. That¡¯s half the price!¡±

Yuna was looking around for things to buy when she suddenly heard her stomach growl loudly. Namjoo hardly got along with kids, but Yuna made her want a little sister.

Chapter 58
Yuna was shocked to see Eunho. She didn¡¯t expect him to find her so soon. Eunho glared at Namjoo after hitting the back of her head. His menacing voice was heard by Namjoo, ¡°What are you two doing here?¡± Namjoo quickly turned around to find the general glaring back at her. She awkwardly answered, ¡°I¡¯m sorry, sir. We were just about to get some food. What brings you here?¡±

Yuna could feel that Eunho¡¯s face was extremely close to hers. She instantly thought of their accidental kiss from a few days ago. She was constantly on the go; she didn¡¯t think about it. Now that they were only inches apart, she could only think about that kiss. Yuna was so flustered she found herself frozen in place.

The marriage between Princess Ara and the Miyon Nation¡¯s prince needed to happen for the Empress to give him her support. Upon Yuna and Eunho¡¯s arrival, Yuna was surrounded by her worried family. Her father was no exception. By the looks of things, it seems that Yuna will hear an earful about her secret adventures outside of her home. She was too focused on surviving the trials ahead, she didn¡¯t consider the people that were most important to her.

Chapter 62
Yuna had a hard time getting used to Eunho¡¯s appearance. She remembered the first time she met him. He appeared out of nowhere and he seemed mysterious. In all of her lifetimes, she had never met anyone more beautiful than he was. She was an ugly duckling compared to his beauty.
There were a few things she noticed about him. Although he seemed cold and distant, she noticed that he seemed to genuinely care about her. They hadn¡¯t known each other for long, but oddly, she felt like they¡¯d known each other for much longer. She also liked that he didn¡¯t act like a boy his age.
It was extremely difficult trying to spend time with kids. She couldn¡¯t understand their logic because she had already lived two other lives. Eunho seemed to act more like an adult. She wondered what could possibly have happened for him to be so different from other kids.
Did he maybe have siblings back home that needed for him to grow up fast? She went through all the memories and encounters with Eunho. She remembered talking to Eunho about his past when they first met. Eunho didn¡¯t like talking about his past. It seemed that talking about his parents only made him upset. He didn¡¯t seem to have any parental figure to guide him.
The author''s narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
Yuna oddly felt the need to protect him. She knew that he was more than capable of protecting himself. He was a strong martial artist, and she didn¡¯t need to protect him from any harm. What she wanted to protect wasn¡¯t his life, but his own self. She knew what it was like. She was constantly beating herself up over things that were out of her control.
It seemed that Eunho was also struggling with the same thing. His parents weren¡¯t there for him and it seemed that he was beating himself up over it. Yuna didn¡¯t want him to feel the same emotions that she had felt. She wasted a whole lifetime feeling this way. She doubted herself on many occasions.
She wondered if maybe it was her fault that no one truly cared about her. It could¡¯ve been that she wasn¡¯t adequate enough for anyone to care about her. The man she had loved wasn¡¯t interested and the cousin she thought was her best friend was not really a friend at all. She had no control over their feelings. Over time she realized that none of this was in her control. The only thing she could do was control herself and what she wanted in life. Yuna realized that no matter how much she wanted someone to like her and to care for her, it wasn¡¯t in her control.
Eunho seemed to be in the same predicament. She didn¡¯t know how to talk about his parents without him getting upset. The only thing she could do was wait for him to open up to her. She wasn¡¯t going to force him to talk about his past. She wanted to wait till he was ready.

Eunho wasn¡¯t too interested in sparring with the general because he didn¡¯t want Yuna to be suspicious of him or feel threatened by him. Eunho had trained in both his past life and in this life. He grew extremely strong because of his training and experience. In reality, he was stronger than Yuna¡¯s father, but he didn¡¯t want her to find out.

Chapter 64
He held her tightly, and reassured her, ¡°It¡¯s okay. I won¡¯t let you fall.¡± He swiftly landed on the ground without any problems. He then asked her, ¡°Are you okay? Was that scary?¡± She shook her head, ¡°I¡¯m okay.¡± She felt her heart racing.
The only explanation she could think of for her heart beating quickly could be because she was feeling queasy from the height. Maybe her adrenaline was rushing from the exhilarating feeling of being in the air. That was the only reason she could think of. She couldn¡¯t possibly have feelings for Eunho. She already promised herself that she would never fall in love again. Plus, she only met him a few times. That couldn¡¯t possibly be the reason for her heart racing.
Before Eunho could continue their adventures in the sky, Yuna abruptly said, ¡°I appreciate the help in getting to my courtyard, but I think I want to continue the rest of the way walking.¡± Eunho gently placed her on her feet.
She felt the tall grass softly graze against her ankle. She didn¡¯t realize it while being in the sky, but she was starting to feel cold. Her jacket (jeogori: upper garment of hanbok) was thin and it hardly blocked out the wind. Eunho noticed her shivering and he placed his jacket (jeogori) over her shoulder.
She rejected him instantly, ¡°It¡¯s okay. I don¡¯t need the jacket (jeogori). Aren¡¯t you cold?¡± She saw that he only had on his inner shirt, and it was thin. He must be cold. She took off the jacket and tried to get him to wear it, but he refused. They went back and forth trying to hand over the jacket.
Stolen story; please report.
No matter how much she tried, it would always end up back on her shoulder. She sighed, ¡°Okay, I¡¯ll wear the jacket. It¡¯s cold out. Thanks.¡± Eunho smiled, ¡°You can just keep the jacket. I have plenty of them.¡± She shook her head, ¡°No. I have no reason to keep your jacket. That¡¯d be weird, wouldn¡¯t it? I¡¯ll wash the jacket and bring it back to you. How does that sound?¡±
Eunho agreed, ¡°You don¡¯t have to rush bringing the jacket back. It¡¯s not like that¡¯s my favorite jacket.¡± Yuna laughed, ¡°You have a favorite jacket?¡± Eunho nodded, ¡°It¡¯s not exactly a jacket, but it was the shirt I wore when I first met you.¡± Yuna remembered the shirt he tore up to wrap up her hand. Was that really his favorite? She suddenly felt bad about it.
He ripped up his favorite shirt just because she was clumsy. She apologized, ¡°I¡¯m so sorry. I didn¡¯t realize that it was your favorite shirt.¡± He shook his head, ¡°No, it¡¯s okay. I don¡¯t mind. Just as long as you¡¯re okay. A shirt is nothing compared to you.¡± Yuna was flattered by his response, but she still couldn¡¯t leave it at that.
Yuna said, ¡°I know you think it¡¯s just a shirt, but I still feel horrible for ruining your favorite shirt. Could I be the one to amend your shirt for you?¡± He asked, ¡°You know how to sew?¡± She nodded, ¡°I may not seem like the type, but yes, I can sew.¡±

Chapter 65
Yuna knew that changing the world was going to be extremely difficult. She was sent back to this world on a mission to change it. She wasn¡¯t going to fail her mission. She planned on never becoming a bystander that watched others suffer. She was too negligent in her first life. The memories of war and the deaths of many people kept repeating in her head.
Eunho noticed her distraught expression and asked, ¡°Are you ok?¡± Yuna snapped back to reality, ¡°Sorry, I was just thinking about something.¡± Eunho unexpectedly patted her head like she was a kid. She didn¡¯t like being treated like a kid, but the pat on her head felt nice.
Eunho quickly withdrew his hand and continued on the walk back. Yuna asked, ¡°Would I be able to do the same thing if I trained?¡± He had no clue what she was talking about. He asked, ¡°Do what?¡± She explained, ¡°I want to be able to fly in the sky like you do. That was pretty cool.¡± Eunho corrected her, ¡°We weren¡¯t exactly flying. Its not like I own a pair of wings. I was just simply jumping from branch to branch.¡±
Yuna smiled, ¡°How are you able to do that? It felt like we were flying. Will training help me?¡± He shrugged, ¡°We won¡¯t know until you start your training.¡± She hoped she could learn fast so that she could jump from tree to tree without being scared of falling. Eunho noticed that Yuna seemed to be enthusiastic about learning martial arts, but he knew that it wasn¡¯t going to be that easy.
This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
Although he didn¡¯t like to see her get hurt, he was looking forward to spending more time with her. He didn¡¯t have a reason to be around Yuna much but training her allowed him to spend time with her naturally.
He hoped that during the training, she would slowly start to see that he was better than that b*st*rd, Prince Minho. He was determined to prevent their marriage in this life. The thought of her being with him made his stomach turn. He wanted to beat Prince Minho to a pulp and let her see how much of a scum he was.
Prince Minho was a sly one. It was suspicious that he was the only prince remaining after the assassination of the emperor and the princes. It could only mean that he was the murderer that eliminated his family to get the position of emperor. He had found that out too late in the past life. It infuriated him when he found that all the blame was placed on Yuna.
Yuna noticed that Eunho¡¯s expression grew dark. She didn¡¯t know what could¡¯ve caused him to change. She asked, ¡°What¡¯s wrong?¡± Eunho didn¡¯t want to have to explain his thoughts, so he brushed it off like it was nothing, ¡°It¡¯s nothing. I was just thinking about something.¡± Yuna didn¡¯t believe that it was nothing, but she didn¡¯t want to pressure him too much.
Eunho quickly changed the flow of the conversation, ¡°You should probably go to bed when we get back. We¡¯ll start training at the same time with the rest of the soldiers. There will be no exceptions for you. I¡¯m sure you don¡¯t want to disappoint everyone else by waking up too late.¡±

Yuna was out of breath from rushing to the training grounds. It wasn¡¯t her intention to be late to the first day of training. She spent all night wondering what training would be like. Over time, Yuna slowly grew used to the tree stumps and random pebbles on the way. Although she was in last place, she was still able to see the rest of the others. Chapter 68
Throughout the whole journey from the forest to her room, she could hear and see glimpses of what was happening. She felt herself being lifted up by Namjoo, but at some point, she felt the person had changed. She could tell that it was Eunho.
There was a scent of honey and pine that came from him. The scent carried with it a calming sensation. It made her feel warm and sweet inside. She felt protected and safe. She unintentionally sniffed him.
Eunho felt his heart thump loudly in his chest when he felt her light body against him. He blushed harder when he noticed her smelling him. Her body was light, and it was fairly easy for him to carry her on his back. He could sense that she was awake, but he didn¡¯t want to embarrass her. He acted like he didn¡¯t notice.
Yuna wanted to stay awake, but her eyes kept shutting on their own. She eventually fell asleep while smelling the nice honey and pine scent. Eunho could tell that she had fallen asleep when he noticed the slight changes in her breathing.
When Eunho got to her room, it was silent. He frowned when he noticed that she wasn¡¯t like most nobles. It was normal for the courtyard to be bustling with activity. He didn¡¯t see a single soul in her courtyard. Weren¡¯t noble households supposed to be surrounded with servants? Was Yuna being mistreated by the servants in her own home?
The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
He could feel the rage inside him burn into a volcano when he thought of them bullying Yuna. She was still just a young girl. He would have to figure out what was going on.
He gently placed Yuna on her bed. Once she was on her bed, she curled up into a ball and hugged her pillow tightly. She was so cute, he wanted to replace her pillow. He wondered what it would feel like to be hugged by Yuna.
His face turned red, and he felt his heart causing mayhem in his chest, THUMP THUMP THUMP. He quickly shook the thoughts out of his head. What was he thinking? They were still kids, okay? He decided that it would be best if he avoided her altogether. He had no confidence in himself. Although he was in his 13-year-old body, he had the mind of an adult.
Eunho turned away from Yuna¡¯s sleeping figure. He was getting ready to leave the room when he heard Yuna mumble in her sleep. Yuna mumbled, ¡°Stop it. It¡¯s not my fault.¡± Eunho drew closer to her. He could barely hear her words.
Yuna had droplets of sweat rolling down her face. Her forehead was scrunched up and her expression darkened. Eunho had no clue what she was dreaming about, but he wanted to comfort her. He sat down on the bed next to her. Her hands were clenched tightly onto the sheets. He loosened her grip and held her hands.

Chapter 69
Yuna¡¯s progress was slow when it came to building up endurance and stamina. What did she expect? Exercise wasn¡¯t her strong suit and it was nearly impossible for her to accomplish her goal. Her goal entailed being able to follow Eunho¡¯s training regimen to the T. How was she ever going to show Eunho that she wasn¡¯t just some princess that needs protecting.
The soldiers weren¡¯t enthusiastic about her training alongside them. Most expected her to call it quits and go back to her daily life of being a noble lady. Each time she overheard their mockery and criticism, she would bite her lips and restrain her anger. It wasn¡¯t the right time for her to argue with them. Especially since there wasn¡¯t much progress in her training.
She failed the first day of training because she caught a cold. She was ashamed of herself for not being able to prove to them that she was capable of much more regardless of her gender. It wasn¡¯t an easy task. She was disappointed in herself for thinking that it was going to be easy.
She almost forgot how difficult it was for a normal person to become successful in anything. She was able to easily succeed in her past life because god gave her a cool ability. Now that she didn¡¯t have anything special to help her, she had no clue what to do. She quickly noticed that the soldiers around her were much stronger than her and they were much more experienced. They must¡¯ve trained throughout their whole life. How was she ever going to catch up to them? Namjoo was also a thousand times stronger than her.
This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.
The soldiers were lined up perfectly in rows while General Eunho instructed them on their next task. Yuna stood among them at the very end of the row. She was able to easily hide from Eunho because of her small body. The tall and muscular men obstructed her view.
Once everyone finished lining up, Eunho informed everyone about today¡¯s task. His assertive voice echoed throughout the courtyard, ¡°Today¡¯s training will be right here in this courtyard. We will not be running in the forest. Although you¡¯re not running, it doesn¡¯t mean that today will be an easy day.¡±
The soldiers sighed in unison. They were expecting today to be an easy day especially since Lady Yuna just recovered from her cold. The news that they weren¡¯t running made them happy, but they didn¡¯t expect that Eunho would have something else planned for them.
They attentively watched Eunho with expectation. They hoped that it wasn¡¯t going to be ¡®Hell¡¯s Training¡¯ once again. They unintentionally recalled the hellish training they experienced not too long ago. When Eunho first became General, no one expected the kid to be so strong and domineering.
None of them listened to him and they thought it would be easy to neglect their training. They were happy to find out that a little kid was going to become the general. Their hopes were crushed into the mud when they discovered Eunho¡¯s true nature. Eunho beat them all up into a pulp and none of them were allowed to rest a single day.

Chapter 70
Minho had been waiting for this opportunity. Now was the perfect chance for him to finally make Yuna his. The morning after Prime minister Junho was notified that his daughter¡¯s idea was a failure, his father let him know that Minister Junho would have no choice but to approve the arranged marriage between them.
Although his father hadn¡¯t told Minister Junho about the arranged marriage yet, he couldn¡¯t wait any longer. He needed to see Yuna while her father was busy discussing their marriage. He wouldn¡¯t be able to protect his daughter, especially since he needed to appear in morning court.
He decided that it would be the perfect time to show up at Yuna¡¯s house to let her know the good news. Minho couldn¡¯t wait to see the look on Yuna¡¯s face. He was sure that she would be happy. There was no woman that would be unhappy with his proposal.
He demanded his servants to prepare the palanquin. He planned to show up at her residence in a flashy way. The neighbors would soon find out why he came to visit. It would be a matter of time before the rumors spread about their marriage.

While traveling on the road to Yuna¡¯s house, the palanquin stopped abruptly. He roared with fury at the servants, ¡°WHY HAVE YOU STOPPED? I didn¡¯t tell you to stop, do you want to be beaten 50 times? D*mn servants! I¡¯ll make every last one of you regret disobeying me!¡±
The servants shivered while looking at the palanquin. They weren¡¯t able to see his expression through the palanquin, but they knew that their master wouldn¡¯t lie. He was quick to anger, and it would be a matter of time before they were beaten.
Being beaten 50 times was horrifying. It didn¡¯t sound like much, but that was far from the truth. They witnessed other servants being beaten. They were rolled up in a mat and beaten with sticks. The 50 beatings were enough to kill a person. They shivered imagining their own deaths.
One of the servants kneeled before the palanquin and stuttered, ¡°M..master please forgive us. We only stopped because there was a lady blocking our path. She has been hurt badly. Please forgive us.¡± The servant banged his head heavily onto the ground to beg for mercy.
Minho opened the palanquin window and stared out at the servant that was kneeling in front. He hmphed and got out of the palanquin to see what was going on. He saw a beautiful woman lying on the floor in front. Her eyes were closed and all he could notice was her beautiful body.
He couldn¡¯t help but compare Yuna with this woman. Although Yuna had her charms, this woman in front of him was even more charming. The woman looked more like a woman and Yuna looked more like a kid. He¡¯d prefer to be with this woman. He knelt down to her position and put his hand under her nose. She seemed to be breathing.

Chapter 72
Yuna¡¯s palms were sweaty, and the musky scent permeated the entire courtyard. Namjoo stood before her with a look of determination. She wasn¡¯t expecting her to be such a strong opponent, but that was a mistake on her part. The fight to determine ranks within the soldiers had begun.
At first, Yuna thought that this would be a simple sparring match, but she overlooked the fact that soldiers in this era were prideful. The rankings weren¡¯t formal, and they weren¡¯t given titles. A win could determine how much power someone had within the army. The soldiers that lost were bound to bow down to those that have defeated them. This only applied to their comrade-in-arms, not enemies.
Yuna observed the countless soldiers that sparred and learned that this match wasn¡¯t as simple as she thought it would be. It didn¡¯t look like a simple match when these men were ripping at each other¡¯s throats to win the fight. Some came out of the fight with broken bones and torn flesh. Yuna could not believe the gruesome reality that most deemed true - the survival of the fittest.
She couldn¡¯t believe her eyes when she noticed that some of them were hardly breathing and yet they refused to surrender. What gave her so much confidence soon deflated like a balloon. How could she keep up with everyone else when they had put their all in to training? Was she just supposed to sit this one out? She rejected the idea instantly

She would be a laughingstock for everyone. She couldn¡¯t give up so easily. What would all of her ideals become if she quit? She had to prove to everyone that even females could become as strong as men. Namjoo was a living example of this ideal, but she could not reveal her secret. It wasn¡¯t her place to tell everyone. The only way was for her to become stronger.
Plus, this wasn¡¯t the only reason she wanted to become stronger. She had to face enemies that stood like shadows behind their puppets. These elites were unknown to the public and she knew there was someone behind the Empress. There had to be, and her weaknesses could only allow for an early death. She wouldn¡¯t allow that future to come into fruition.
Yuna straightened her back and stood tall. The determination to grow strong arose from within her thoughts. Eunho noticed the change in her demeanor. She looked completely defeated at the start of the match, but soon her will to fight was shown through her movements.
Once Eunho signaled for the start of the match, Namjoo sprung forward as fast as lightning. Yuna could not keep up with her speed. She was struck hard on her gut with Namjoo¡¯s kick. Yuna curved into a ball and fell face flat on the ground. The soldiers scoffed and some cheered. She felt the excruciating pain stabbing at her insides. She could taste the blood in her mouth from smacking the ground so hard.
She wiped the blood off her lips and stood up with her wobbly legs. Namjoo felt a pang of guilt when she noticed the blood. She shouldn¡¯t have fought so hard with a beginner. Yuna had no previous experience of fighting. Before she could stop the fight, Yuna dashed forward and attempted to punch her.

Sun loved her father and admired him. She never thought the last time she would see him was when he left for the Kingdom of Guwon.
Sun didn¡¯t know the full details of what happened, but she knew that the person that caused her father¡¯s death was Prince Minho. Her father had offended the second prince during their talks of peace. The Kingdom of Guwon changed the contents of the peace treaty.

Chapter 80
Yuna was lost inside the darkness within the deepest recesses of her mind. She had no clue where she was. She inspected her surroundings to make sense of her surroundings. She couldn¡¯t see anything, and nothing made sense to her. Wasn¡¯t she sparring with Namjoo just now? How did she get here? Did she die?
She didn¡¯t believe that she was dead. Her first death wasn¡¯t like this. She was sent towards the heavens to meet with God. She was in a peculiar place with no one and nothing around her. The darkness reminded her of how lonely the world really is. No matter how many people loved and cared about her, she could only feel how lonely it all is after death. One statement stuck with her - Everyone must die alone. The solitude engulfed her.
There was nothing and no one around. The only thing she could feel was the burning sensation that kept tearing at her insides. Something within her was changing. It felt like something was ripping apart her body and putting it back together. She couldn¡¯t figure out what was going on. She struggled for a while until the pain receded.
Once she recovered, she frantically searched the darkness to find any clues to where she was. She ran around in search of anything, but there was nothing for a while. She walked and walked for a while and couldn¡¯t find anything.

She finally stopped panicking when she felt that her feet were wet. She couldn¡¯t see the floor, but she could feel that there was a puddle there. She bent down to feel the floor. The floor was covered with water, and she didn¡¯t notice it soon enough. The peculiar thing was that her hand went through the floor. It was like she was walking on water.
She kept putting her hand in the water to test how deep it was. Her entire arm went underwater, but oddly her feet remained firmly on the ground. Was this a lake? She walked directly on top of where her hands were and surprisingly, she was still standing without falling in. This definitely isn¡¯t earth. Where the h*ll is she?
She put her face in the water to see if it would go underwater or touch the ground. Her question was answered when she saw what was under the water. There was a bright light emanating from the bottom of the ocean. She had no clue if this was an ocean, but she could tell that it was deep underwater. She wasn¡¯t a great swimmer, but she could probably try swimming to the bottom and back.
She hoped that she could make it to the surface without drowning. She dived in without much thought. The water was clear, and she could finally make sense of her surroundings. She found it odd that there was nothing underwater. There were no fishes, and it didn¡¯t look like the bottom of an ocean.

Yuna trembled in fear, ¡°Please don¡¯t eat me!¡± To her surprise, the phoenix didn¡¯t come closer. The phoenix erupted with laughter, ¡°I¡¯m sorry to disappoint, but I don¡¯t eat humans. It should be the other way around.¡± Yuna thought to herself, ¡°Huh?¡± The phoenix explained, ¡°I guess you don¡¯t know yet. You¡¯ve just taken the elixir of the phoenix which is made with my heart as a recipe.¡± Yuna panicked when she heard that she had consumed one of its organs. She denied fervently, ¡°I didn¡¯t eat your heart. There¡¯s no way I could¡¯ve taken that elixir.¡±

Chapter 82
Eunho was expecting to face an arrogant Prince Minho, but instead he was faced with the dead corpse of one of his soldiers. He clenched his teeth in fury at the scene. The soldier¡¯s head was cut off cleanly and blood was pooled beneath the body. He remembered the soldier happily talking about his wife and kids. He was constantly working hard to earn money for his family.
The soldier planned on retiring just a few days later to spend time with his family. He needed to work at an old age, because his wife and him conceived at an old age. After years of working, his plan was to retire once he earned enough for his family. He was weeks away from retirement.
He felt immense guilt towards his wife and kids that were waiting for his return. The news would be devastating. He couldn¡¯t imagine how much pain and sorrow they would be faced with. If only he let him retire sooner, he wouldn¡¯t have died at this age.
Once everyone heard of his death, the soldiers gathered around the corpse. They placed a white cloth over his body and placed him in the cart to bring to his family. A few of the soldiers had tears in their eyes as they pulled the cart out of the Kim Residence. They were close to the soldier, and they viewed him as their own grandfather. It was heartbreaking watching his soldiers grieving over his death.

Eunho angrily asked the guard, ¡°Why did you leave him here alone? You should¡¯ve gotten some more guards to help.¡± The guard cried, ¡°I didn¡¯t know this was going to happen. I was scared for my life.¡± Eunho sighed, ¡°He¡¯s already gone. You¡¯ll come with me to tell his family what happened.¡±
The guard nodded, ¡°I¡¯ll go and tell his family. Is there anything else? I can receive any punishment.¡± Eunho glared at him, ¡°Your punishment will have to wait. Where¡¯s Prince Minho?¡± The guard frantically searched the premises. Prince Minho¡¯s palanquin was gone, and his servants were nowhere to be found.
Did Prince Minho leave after killing the guard? If he were Minho, he wouldn¡¯t have just left. He would go to see Yuna. Eunho instantly began rushing towards Yuna¡¯s room. It wasn¡¯t possible for Minho to enter Yuna¡¯s bedroom and leave so quickly. It didn¡¯t take long for Eunho to walk to the main gate. Eunho instructed the guards, ¡°Search the premises for Prince Minho¡¯s palanquin. They must be around here somewhere.¡±
The guards began searching for the palanquin while Eunho dashed to Yuna¡¯s room. He hoped that he wasn¡¯t too late. He felt frustrated thinking about all the times he was a step too late in protecting Yuna. He wouldn¡¯t be able to live with himself if Minho did anything to harm Yuna.

Yuna stared at the familiar ceiling and the beautifully draped curtains that hung down over the bed. Her eyebrows scrunched up in confusion. How is she in this room? She changed the future. It shouldn¡¯t be possible. She quickly got out of bed and noticed the familiar furniture. The room was decorated luxuriously, and it felt like she had become empress. She dashed to the mirror to check.

Yuna¡¯s previous room was unusually far from Prince Minho¡¯s bedroom. She never questioned him because she liked the courtyard and its surroundings. Most people in the palace avoided this place because there were rumors about it being haunted with ghosts. They assumed that the concubines that died tragic deaths were sent to this courtyard.

She¡¯d have to wait till nighttime to get past the guards. It was too bright out and she didn¡¯t want to draw too much attention to herself. It would be easier at night.

Chapter 86
Prince Jimin knew that the garden was off limits, but he wasn¡¯t everyone else. He was special. His father favored him unlike his brothers and sisters. He was given special treatment. He was given permission to enter the garden only if he kept it a secret from the empress and his siblings.
Jimin enjoyed the company of his family and friends, but he still needed alone time on occasion. He needed a place to think and the only place he could truly get alone time was the garden. There was nothing special about this garden, but he enjoyed going because he knew no one else would be there.
While he was taking a stroll through the garden, he was shocked to find a girl there. Her voice flowed seamlessly with the atmosphere. The flower petals flew up from the ground, making her look like a fairy. Her glossy black hair swayed with the wind. She had her eyes closed while singing.
There were plenty of girls in the palace with beautiful faces, but none of them made his heart tremble. Just the sight of her made his heart skip a beat. He remembered that there was only one girl that made him feel this way. It was at his sister¡¯s birthday banquet. The girl was the daughter of the general. He could clearly remember her eyes that were as bright as stars. She wasn¡¯t a beauty that could make civilizations collapse, but she had a certain charm about her that made him think about her.
This story is posted elsewhere by the author. Help them out by reading the authentic version.
After he met her, he couldn¡¯t stop thinking about her. Even after he was at death¡¯s door, he could only think of her. He almost died that day when the assassins barged into the palace. He barely survived it, but the only thing that kept him from dying was the girl in his mind.
Two years had gone by, but he still couldn¡¯t get her out of his mind. He gazed at the girl singing with all her might. He wondered if he had slowly fallen out of love with the General¡¯s daughter. The fairy before his eyes made his heartbeat erratically. He was disappointed in himself for falling in love with other women so easily.
He was beginning to doubt himself until the girl opened her eyes. Her eyes were exactly the same as the girl at his sister¡¯s banquet. It was Yuna. No wonder his heart was beating so fast. It was because the fairy-like girl was actually Yuna. She has grown up so well. Her features have gotten sharper.
Yuna¡¯s eyes grew wide in shock. She can¡¯t be caught! Yuna dashed away from the stranger in a hurry. Jimin rushed up to her and grabbed her arm, ¡°Wait. Why are you here?¡± Yuna jumped in fright, ¡°I promise I¡¯m not a suspicious person. I just got lost.¡± Jimin¡¯s soft voice made Yuna shiver, ¡°It¡¯s okay. I don¡¯t doubt you.¡±
Yuna looked up at Jimin and asked, ¡°Who are you? I thought the garden was off limits.¡± Jimin laughed, ¡°I could say the same to you. This garden is off limits.¡± Yuna frowned, ¡°I was lost.¡± She¡¯s such a bad liar, ¡°If you were lost, how did you know the garden was off limits?¡± She facepalmed when she realized how bad of a liar she was. She tried to redirect the conversation, ¡°So, who are you?¡±

Jimin¡¯s request surprised her, ¡°Could we meet at least once a week?¡± Yuna was so dumbfounded, she didn¡¯t know what to say. Did he think she had all the time in the world? Wasn¡¯t he supposed to be busy? She had only one thought, this stupid prince only thinks about playing around. He should be worried about his scheming brothers and sisters. His death is approaching and all he can think about is playing around. Someone please smack some sense into this prince.

The sunset was a dazzling pinkish orange color. Yuna stared at the sky while waiting patiently for her plan. She was originally planning on getting Prince Jimin to find out what happened to Sun but decided that it was impossible for him to know. Guwon citizens had distorted opinions about Ezraens. She didn¡¯t believe a prince would be any different. He grew up in a place that abhorred any Ezraen people. Yuna highly doubted that anyone in this society would be different.

Chapter 90
Yuna shivered as soon as she stepped outside. It was dark out and the lanterns lit up the walkway. She hid in the shadows behind buildings. There were a few guards keeping watch at night. It would be difficult for her to make it past the guards without getting caught. She picked up a stone and tossed it as far as she could.
Luckily for her, the guards heard the sound and rushed towards the stone. She made her way around the building and into the garden. She made sure to not step on any branches to alert the guards. The trees and bushes were a great cover. She was easily able to maneuver through the garden without getting caught.
She made her way towards Minho''s quarters. If Minho were to kidnap someone the prison cell should be near his courtyard. She remembers being locked up in there during her first life. She made her way through the garden towards his courtyard. It was a good thing she remembered the exact layout of Minho''s residence, else she would have been lost.
While walking towards his residence, she heard muffled voices in the background. She tiptoed closer towards the sound of their voices. She found a large bush near the entrance to his personal courtyard. She hid behind the bush and focused on what they were saying.
Haemi''s annoying voice loudly rung out, "Prince. Stop it tickles!" She peaked through the bush and found out Minho was tickling Haemi. They looked so happy together. Minho grinned, "I won''t stop tickling until you admit that you love me." Haemi giggled, "That depends. You''ve been so busy lately. You don''t spend enough time with me."

It seemed that Minho was plotting something. Yuna hoped that it wasn''t related to Jimin or the Emperor. She worried that her 3 year absence may have accelerated his plans to assassinate them. Right now wouldn''t be an ideal time for an assassination. He still hasn''t gained anything from keeping her captive.
If the maids at his residence were correct, then her father must be causing a ruckus in the palace looking for her. It should be a very dangerous time for Minho to plot an assassination attempt. He''s probably more focused on dating Haemi right now. Yuna reassured herself and tried to convince herself that the worst isn''t happening.
Minho won''t be able to easily gain support from her father. She already changed so much of the past. Her father and her have a better relationship. He wouldn''t just easily give her away to Prince MInho. She trusted that her father was who she thought he was. He isn''t the cold father she imagined. He truly cared for her and she believed in that.
While Yuna was lost in thought, Minho and Haemi continued to banter. Minho pouted, "You know I would spend eternity with you if I could. I just have so much work to do." Haemi smiled with a hint of sadness, "I understand." Yuna was shocked at how good of an actress Haemi was. She already had small pearl like tears at the corners of her eyes. If she were to become an actress, she would''ve already won a few rewards.
If Yuna were to guess what was happening, she would guess that Haemi was probably going on many dates with other guys while he was busy. It truly worked in her favor. She was probably hiding that fact by acting like she craved his attention. That''s the typical signs of a cheater and a manipulator.

Chapter 91
Princess Ara couldn''t see Yuna''s face, but she could picture a brave girl standing before her. She admired Yuna ever since she saved her from almost getting married off early. All because of Yuna, she was able to avoid getting married for this long. She smiled, "I admire you. I wouldn''t be able to do the same things as you."
Yuna asked, "What do you mean?" Princess Ara explained, "The way you answered Father''s test questions were remarkable. I couldn''t believe such efficient methods could be used to solve those problems. I believe that you''re the only one that can help me. I haven''t married yet, but it doesn''t mean I''ll remain unmarried. It''s only a matter of time before I get married to the Dark Lord."
Yuna had never heard anyone call themselves the Dark Lord. Why did it sound similar to a demon lord in a fantasy rpg game? She wondered if maybe she was going crazy. Is this world similar to a game? She asked, "Who''s the Dark Lord?" Ara sighed, "He''s my fiancee. I was arranged to marry him 3 years ago. No one knows anything about him, nobody except me."
Yuna could guess who this ''Dark Lord'' was. He must be the ruler of Miyon, the person that allied with the Empress. She knew a few things about him, but had no clue how he looked like and what type of person he was. The only thing she knew about him was that he was an ally of the Empress and that he betrays the empress in the end.
It seems that regardless of how much she changed fate, she still had to face the same problems. The war seemed inevitable to Yuna. There''s no way of knowing what the Dark Lord is planning. If he easily betrayed the Empress, he is capable of much more.
Yuna asked, "Have you met him yet?" Ara''s face froze for a second when she thought of him. Yuna wondered what could be making her freeze up like this? Is the Dark Lord as scary as a demon lord in novels? Yuna wondered out loud, "Is he that scary?"
Princess Ara nodded, "I can''t imagine having to marry him that''s where you come in. I was hoping that you could help me one more time. I know it''s rude to ask you such a huge favor, but you''re the only one that can help. I don''t have many supporters. My mother isn''t exactly on my side either. More like the opposite. She hates me and she never shows it, but I can tell."
It made Yuna feel bitter when she saw how helpless Princess Ara was. There is no one in this palace that wants to help her. She really needed to save Ara before she gets sent off to marry the enemy. If the marriage was a scam, what really happened to her?
Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.
Yuna wanted to beat herself up after not being able to gain any clues from her memories. Her stupid memories were all wasted on that oaf, Minho... If she could guess what could''ve happened to Ara in her first life, she must''ve been thrown away or even worse, murdered. Yuna felt her heart grow cold thinking about how dangerous the Dark Lord could be.
Yuna patted her head once more and said, "Don''t worry you''re not bothering me at all. I''ve always wanted to help you, Princess. I''m sorry I couldn''t help these past 3 years. I was unconscious." Ara sighed, "I''m so sorry I couldn''t help you with anything. I have no power against my 2nd brother. He doesn''t like me because he thinks I''m weak."
Yuna wanted to punch Minho in the face. How did she ever fall in love with such a pigheaded man! Yuna suddenly hugged Princess Ara, "Don''t you dare call yourself weak! You''re a lot stronger than you think. You''ve survived for these last three years without my help. You shouldn''t demean yourself like that."
Princess Ara smiled, "Thanks. You''re so nice to me. I don''t know why I''ve never met anyone like you. The only other person I get along with is my brother, the crown prince. I just haven''t met another girl like you. You''re like a sister I never had. Can I call you sis?" Yuna''s heart was trembling from how cute she was, "Yes, call me sis."
Ara''s smile grew bigger with joy when she heard Yuna''s response. She resembled a cute little bunny rabbit. Yuna wanted to squeeze her cheeks and give her tons of hugs. It broke her heart thinking that nobody wanted to take care of her. She is so cute, but the first thing people do is discriminate. This world is so cruel.
Yuna couldn''t help it and pat her cute fluffy head. Princess Ara suddenly said, "Sis? To be honest, I''m not ready for marriage. Everyone tells me that it''s a woman''s job to get married and have kids. Do I really need to do that? The Dark Lord isn''t a good person." Yuna asked, "How is he bad person?" Ara seemed reluctant to tell her. She paused, "... I don''t know if I should tell you."
In that moment, a memory popped up in Yuna''s mind. She remembered seeing the same reaction in someone she met in her second lifetime. She met a woman that was married and had a son. Yuna wasn''t a psychologist and she naturally wasn''t too interested in it. That changed once she met this woman. The woman''s name was Lee Yunji.
Yuna was in college at the time. She didn''t have a lot of friends during her life and she preferred to be alone so she got herself an apartment near her university. Once she moved in, she determined that the apartment she rented was not in a good place. There was always a woman screaming and arguing with a man next door.
She couldn''t ignore the screaming so she chose to knock on their door. The man angrily stormed out of the apartment while glaring at her. He didn''t acknowledge her and walked out. The door shut behind him as he left. Yuna knocked on the door once more. When the door opened, a frightened woman stared back at her.
Yuna smiled to calm the scared woman a bit, "Hi, I''m your neighbor. Nice to meet you." The woman didn''t inch forward to give her a hand shake instead she stared at her for a bit. She seemed very cautious and afraid I might have heard or seen anything. She hurriedly asked, "Can I help you with something?" Yuna asked, "I just moved in next door. I heard screaming so I came over to see if everything is okay."

Princess Ara panicked, "You can''t. He''ll hurt you." Yuna knew what Ara was worried about, but she needed to find out more about the Dark Lord. She explained, "I''ll dress up as a maid. He doesn''t know who I am. Everything will be okay. Just trust me."
