《Before the Sun Dies [Loki Fanfiction]》 🌹Chapter One - My baby, Blue🌹 The crashing thunders just outside the window were nothing but stressful for my little baby boy. As I rocked him, I said with a kiss on his head. "The Gods are certainly angry, aren''t they? Don''t let it bother you, sweetheart. The storm will be over soon." My hums calm him almost instantly, his little coos fade as he drifts off into deep slumber. I ran my hands down the sides of his chubbed cheeks, curling the dark locks on his head. I remember sitting there, admiring him. Everything about my boy was perfect, down to that little birthmark on his chest. My baby, Blue. When I heard the door of the nursery open, I just smiled and got up. He was cuddled in my arms and I didn''t want to let go but I did. I placed him into the bassinet. "Isn''t he beautiful? Mesmerizing?" "Come on, you should get some sleep." The voice replied, walking over and taking me by the arm. He was very kind to me, patient but always busy. Even now, I don''t remember his face but he was my husband for a part of my life. I''m not sure if he remembers me any more than I have. It felt like only yesterday Blue was born, tiny and helpless. Now, he was leaving my side and off to school. His little rosy cheeks had lost their fullness and he was beginning to look like his father more and more every day. When I dropped him off, he hadn''t an ounce of hesitation. Only mischief gleamed in his eyes. I, on the other hand, couldn''t bear the thought of letting my boy leave my side but it had to be done. When I got home, I was greeted with the mess made that morning by both him and his busy father. The clothes were scattered on the floor, all for a favorite tie. My feet were now immune to the little blocks littered and somehow I kept finding little pieces of flakes in the crevice of my chairs. Nevertheless, I began cleaning. The only sounds of the house were my humming and the vroom of the vacuum that assisted me with my work. It was at that moment when I heard a loud crash, a zap in the kitchen. It seemed like all my pots had fallen off their hooks and a few plates were broken, but of course, it scared me. Someone was in my house. I froze for a moment but quickly dropped to the floor, picking up a bat previously stuck behind the couch. "W-who''s there? Get out of here the cops are already on their way" I tried to be brave but my voice had let me down with whispered requests instead of stern demands. I walked slowly towards the kitchen, and now I could hear water rushing and some sort of bickering. "Tch, I''m a God, not a toddler." It was a man, a deranged one it seemed but he carried a thick accent. It sent shivers down my spine to think I might have to fight off a crazy purse but when I finally saw this man I was in shock. It was overwhelming, I didn''t know where to look. "What the hell are you doing in my house?" I said, pointing the bat at them. Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road. I first noticed the illuminated blue cube sitting on my counter, then the back of a man in what appeared to be a strange green jacket with long dark hair running behind him. He was trying to clean something from this jacket with the sponge at the sink but when he heard his head darted towards me. He said nothing at first and instead looked at me with eyes that seemed to be in a trance. "Freya." Came softly. Who the hell is Freya? My name was ******. I repeated, as confused as the last time. "What are you doing in my house? And what is that?" He dropped the sponge and lifted his hands up as if to surrender. "No, no, no. You don''t understand, it''s me. Loki. I came back." I squinted my eyes, I would remember someone like him and my name isn''t Freya. "You have to get out of my house. Now!" I yelled almost as if to plead. "I don''t know who you are so just leave me alone." "My name is Loki, your name is Freya. Or was, I''m unaware of what you go by these days, my love." He then spoke slowly, hands on his chest with a gleam. Even though I didn''t know this man, he was certainly happy to see me judging from his smile and those gleaming blue eyes. "N-no. It''s not." I said then gulped. "I''m not saying it again." "I can prove it," Loki responded then flipped his hands, as of to do a card trick but instead he held a photograph. "Here." I looked at him then at the picture. This must be the most my heart has beat. I''m trembling and I''m not sure of anything but this photo was ... "It''s... me?" "Yes, Freya. It''s you... and I." He said, sheepishly. "And we''re-" "I know what we''re doing. I can see the legs." I groaned, why would he keep this picture to prove to me that I know him? I had to get my head on straight. "This is impossible, I''ve never cheated. This isn''t happening." I held my forehead and backed away. "I''m here right now. Trust me, darling." He was trying to help, he tried but how could I listen? He then pulled the bat from my hand and threw it across the room, before I knew it he flashed a knife in one hand and pulled me to his side with the other. "I can''t let you go." He whispered in my ear. I tried to ca myself but the tears streamed down my face making him feel more guilty. "I refuse to, my love." I broke down, I wanted to let my body fall but he held me so tight, he was right. He was never letting me go. "Please put the knife down. Y-you''re scaring me." "Let me prove to you who I am. I''ll get your memories back, Freya." He breathed deeply as his eyes darted around. He still held me as he walked me back toward the glowing cube. "My memories?" I said, my eyes lit up. I stared at the picture on the wall of a baby I would die for and a husband whose face began to seem more and more strange. "I lost memories? What do you mean by that?" "I have to admit. I''m not the most trustworthy person." He clenched his teeth. "I did some terrible things, I got carried away in the process. I hurt you but you still loved me when no one else did." I could hear his deep breaths, he was smelling me. "Even before I..." Lokie paused. I closed my eyes and silently wept. I knew there was something missing but I tried my best to keep going but now... Was this it? Who am I? "There is... something else." He said as he kept his eyes around the exits. "We don''t have much time left so if you want to go with me to do this. There''s a chance you won''t make it back in time. Do you want to take that chance with me, Freya?" 🌹Chapter Two - Waiting for you🌹 "Alright. I-I''ll do it." I could feel my stomach churn as I said that. "What happens now?" "Now we find my brother. He''ll fix this. All of it. " If the tight grip around my waist wasn''t enough, he lowered his head on my neck and lifted the cube in front of us. "Close your eyes, darling, and count to three." "Okay." I shook my head and complied. The smell of his cologne was the only thing I could focus on, so enchanting and soothing. Little did I know, his eyes were tracing my body and his hands felt like they never wanted to let go. He took a deep breath and I started to count. "One, Two-" I felt a sudden jolt around me as if we had jumped. It was a weird sensation that knocked me off my balance, but I wasn''t in the arms of this stranger anymore. I ran my hair back in deep pants. "Woah, what just happened?" I didn''t hear his response since the moment I opened my eyes, I could see a village of people. It was a village at the seaside, and a good amount of old buildings rested there.
"Where are we?" I asked. "Home." He answered, putting the cube away. We still had some walking to do, so he stretched his hand out towards me. "Or the next best thing." I gazed in confusion and folded my arms in a nod. "Are we still-" "On earth? Yes. Unfortunately. New Asgard." He squinted his eyes in thought and began walking beside me as he said. "You really don''t know, do you?" Loki was worried about what I''d find out, I really didn''t remember him or the things he had done. "Should I?" "I believe you have the right to." It ached me to hear that something so precious had been taken away from me, my identity gone. Was I really living a lie all this time? Before meeting Loki, I wouldn''t have questioned it. I grew up in a small town, married my high school sweetheart, and have never left that town before. Then why do I feel like a piece of the puzzle is missing? I pulled the cardigan around me, trying to get warm from the ocean breeze. I watched as Loki walked beside me, so sure of himself. Did I really love someone like this? How could I? We walked for a few more moments through the streets of whispering people, strange-looking people. "Am I supposed to be here?" I said, swallowing. "Not looking like that." He grinned and then stopped at a door of a building that was the biggest one there. He walked me up the steps and knocked on the door. It was a second before someone opened and peeped. "What do you want? I told you already, you''ve been long gone in my eyes, You''re but a ghost now and I can''t bear to see you like this." I could hear a deep raspy voice, smothered with another thick accent. Did you know this text is from a different site? Read the official version to support the creator. Loki looked down then at me then back at the door. "She''s here and she wants to know, Thor. She needs to." I could hear a loud growl from the other side before it came ajar. Loki waited for me to enter and when I did, I was greeted by a bearded man with long blonde locks. I recognized him instantly. "Y-you''re Thor. The Avenger." "A God." He corrected as his eyes plastered onto me from head to toe. He realized that I still wouldn''t remember and so he said. "Why did you bring her here, Loki?" The man closed the door behind us and walked over to a window. "I want you to give her memories back," Loki demanded. "If you''re worthy of that title, you''ll have mercy on your own kind." "Have you told her... what happens to you?" Thor glanced over at him and cursed as he rubbed his temples. "I don''t have it in me to look at you for more than a second, brother." "No." He bit his lip. "What happens to you?" I asked, taking a step back. My head suddenly began to burn up as I felt I remembered Loki. "I, I, I know." My lips quivered. I shot stares at them both. "I know what you did. Y-you killed those people, in New York. I-I saw it, on the news. I remember." Thor looked at him, almost as if to say ''I told you so''. "They were only human, Freya." "I''m human!" I yelled, holding my chest. My focus had been blurred with tears. "You''re going to kill me- you''re going to..." I felt the air in my lungs vanish as I try to get my words out. I couldn''t do this. If it weren''t for Thor''s fast hands I would''ve fallen flat on my back. He caught me just in time. Loki swallowed as he didn''t know what to say. He took deep breaths, standing there. He was ashamed of the things he had done and having the one person who would forgive for it, scold him was even worse. "I''m sorry." I said, gazing up at Thor. He took me upstairs and into a room, laying me down on the bed. "It''s okay." He replied with a soft smile, fixing some hair from my face. Loki followed behind. "Thank you." He said, wanting to get closer. "Don''t," I said weakly. "Stay there. Don''t come near me." "Are you sure?" He asked, his eyes welling up like a lost puppy but his stance still held him in place. I nodded at him then went back to his brother. "Thor... Am I really who I think I am? Are there really memories?" He was hesitant to say anything at first then he shook his head. He left the room and returned right after with a black box, lined in gold designs. He then said. "Taking away your memories, it was your decision. You said no matter what happens, I should never allow you to access them." I listened to the silence of the room, the ocean sounds were calming to my heart but there was something else that I wanted. "Will I forget all that I have done now? What about my son?" "No." He assured me, then opened it to reveal a gold bottle. "But there will be some side effects. You''ll certainly be different when you''re back." "When I''m back? Am I going somewhere?" I asked but to no avail, neither one answered. Loki looked at Thor and then at me. "I''ll be here waiting." He took me by the hands and rubbed the back of it. "Your destiny awaits you, Freya. I''ll see you soon." I looked at our hands, my heart softened, and I felt like nothing could hurt me. And I knew I had to do this. I looked at Thor but unlike Loki, his eyes told a different story. He didn''t want me to do it. Thor gave me opened the bottle and handed it to me, I took a deep breath then drank it slowly. I felt my eyes getting heavier as I looked at them again. I could hear the fading voices. "Come back to me, darling. Come back to me."
