Hamza''s eyes shifted to the broken building around him, noticing the peeling wallpaper, broken furniture, and shattered glass littering the floor. The stench of decay and dust filled his nostrils, making him feel uneasy. He could feel the pain in his chest slowly fading as Observer''s healing power did its work, but he still felt weak and drained.
As he sat up, his gaze landed on the game screen, which showed his meager reward for risking his life. Hamza looked at observer as she was bandaging his chest with a blank face. He then looked at this game screen blankly with his lifeless eyes.
¡°I nearly got sliced in half and killed 5 monsters and all I get is 500Gp points¡±
¡°I even spent 70GP on the ability. Well, at least I didn¡¯t die.¡±
Observer was listening to him and bandaged him completely. With a small chuckle
Observer finished bandaging his chest and she gave a peck on his cheek and giggled but Hamza held her back before she did anything more. He was not in the mood for her antics. Her clingy obsession was annoying. For all, he knew he could not trust this god no matter what. It was ominous. Not now at least until he learns more about her.
¡°Meanie. Don¡¯t sweat the small stuff¡± she said.
He got up and walked towards Jack, who was busy seeing the layout of the area. He saw Jack devising a plan in the open area ground on a piece of paper mapping the buildings. Hamza knew exactly why. He looked at the group of dogs with Jack as one of the red dog stared at him for a moment. The next phase of the battle was now going to start.
Chapter 11: Planning For the Big Siege
Hamza and Observer strode purposefully towards Jack through the bustling nighttime chaos. Hamza''s sharp eyes darted around, taking in the whirlwind of activity as they closed in on their target. His body felt surprisingly refreshed, thanks to Observer''s unique abilities. He rotated his arms, savoring the newfound vigor that her healing touch had granted him.
"Observer has quite the useful ability," Hamza mused to himself, his thoughts tinged with suspicion. "Almost like a deliberate ploy to make me care."
Observer, on the other hand, couldn''t contain her glee. She had just experienced her first kiss, even if it was just on the cheek, and to her, it felt monumental. Her sapphire eyes glowed with an eerie neon brilliance, the circuit-like nerves around her irises lending her gaze a mesmerizing quality. But her mind was anything but innocent.
As they walked, her thoughts danced with pure desire, her gaze turning into a tangled mess of lines.
"I can''t wait to fuck him, to feel him inside me. I wonder what it will be like," she thought, struggling to suppress her unusual and comically triumphant laughter, along with the possessiveness that was bubbling up inside her.
Hamza couldn''t help but notice Observer''s strange behavior and a jolt of fear shot through him when their eyes met. It was a chilling moment, and he felt a tinge of dread that she might assault him. Maintaining his poker face, he quickened his pace.
"Dammit, why did I let her kiss me?" Hamza wondered, panic in his eyes. "An elder god like her has zero restraint. This is going to be one hell of a headache to deal with."
Meanwhile, Jack was devising a plan with the four dogs overseeing the mining operation.
==================================================================================
Several hours ago¡
Right after Hamza fought off the minions, he took a break to tend to his wounds and regain his strength alongside observer. In the meantime, Jack took the opportunity to scout the ruined city. One of the dogs on watch duty spotted an army of beetle battle droids making their way toward them. He rushed to inform the others, including Jack.
"Alert! Aku droids are approaching from the south. We''re doomed!" the small dog exclaimed, his voice trembling with fear.
Without stalling Jack and the four dogs set out to find the highest building in the area, hoping to gain a vantage point to get a better understanding of the situation. They climbed a worn-down skyscraper and gazed into the distance from above. In the distance, they saw a black veil rapidly consuming everything like cliffs in its path as it drew closer.
Jack furrowed his brows in confusion, trying to make sense of what he was seeing. One of the dogs grabbed a pair of binoculars and took a closer look.
"I say, there are armies of those Aku destroyer drones. How are you going to defeat them? They''ll be here by sunrise," the monocle-wearing dog said, his posh accent clashing with the dire situation at hand. Thousands upon thousands of Aku destroyer beetle droids were approaching fast.
If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it.
Jack''s expression turned serious as he addressed the group, "I''ll need weapons and support from everyone here." He glanced in the direction of Hamza and Observer, then winced as he remembered his missing arm, feeling the phantom pain of his limb.
The approaching swarm of droids resembled a horde of insects with razor-sharp pincers and glowing red eyes. They advanced with a relentless determination, the sound of their clanking metal bodies echoing through the fields. The air was thick with the acrid smell of burning rubber and electrical discharge from the droids'' weapons. Many looked like actual massive bugs having the same appearance.
Although he despised the thought of asking for additional help, Jack was not in his best shape. It was difficult to adjust to the loss of his left hand. As night fell, he tore up some paper hanging from a machine and used stones to secure it in place. Surveying the area with a keen eye, he searched for anything he could use against the approaching army. He noticed several machines, some resembling catapults with cannons, and numerous oil barrels. Broken machinery and a plethora of jewels were also present. After observing how Hamza used the jewels, Jack grinned, realizing he had a plan in mind that just might be of help.
The monocle-wearing dog approached him with a smile, offering a pen to write with. Jack began to write, but the ink did not spread. Perplexed, he looked at the pen, unsure of what he had done wrong. The dog took the pen and clicked the tip, revealing the nib, which he gave back to Jack. Jack scrutinized the nib and began to draw.
He meticulously drew a map of the entire area, including the broken pathways and buildings, based on what he had observed from his vantage point earlier. Once the map was finished, he explained to the dogs what they needed to do. Soon, all the dogs in the mining area were united for one purpose. Using the strange and highly advanced machinery, they started to implement Jack''s plan. They used the terrain and large arched cliffs to position the catapults facing upwards. Using a flying machine with a vacuum nose, they carried massive boulders to arm the catapult machine arms.
Jack marked an area with his sword, and a dog-operated machine dug a trench-like structure stretching to the edges of the general area from one point to another. They placed a few oval-shaped, compact machines with massive thrust exhausts on the small cliffs, as instructed by Jack.
In the present time, Hamza witnessed the events unfolding in the general area, recalling everything vividly as he watched Jack''s plan come to fruition. It was a surreal experience, and he couldn''t help but laugh a little at some of the machines'' goofy designs.
From my perspective, it''s still like watching a cartoon show, but now I''m living in it, which is not what I wanted, to be honest
he thought as he passed by one of the machines and approached Jack.
Jack was trying to make a bow, but he was struggling a little. Although Hamza wasn''t the type to help someone out of the goodness of his heart. Yet his body betrayed his actions.
I wonder what kind of past this version of Jack has.
he just was cautious and he didn''t trust anyone. loneliness had a toll on his psyche before all this. but this was different, he knew his survival was reliant on Jack and he wanted to be friends with Jack. offered his assistance to become closer to him. He helped Jack tie the strings on the bow. Jack''s smile was evident as he looked at Hamza helping him. A notification popped up.
[5 GP points awarded for helping Jack. Your likeness with Jack is reaching the maximum level.]
It was a makeshift way for Hamza to earn minuscule amounts of GP points, which he desperately needed at the moment. He helped Jack attach the rope-like wire he pulled from a machine to make the bow. Jack had already made arrows and handed one to Hamza with a smile. Knowing what he wanted, Hamza used the bow in front of him.
He lined up a shot, spotting a small piece of rock in the direction Jack was looking. As Jack gave him a nod, Hamza had the arrow ready and shot it.
CHING!
The arrow hit the rock formation, destroying it and nearly piercing through another rock formation.
"I''m just too good," Hamza said, smiling as Observer stared at him with a look of disbelief. Jack looked satisfied with the comment.
"Your skill is unquestionably great. I''ve been meaning to ask," Jack hesitated to talk, trying to find a suitable way to ask for help. He didn''t want to drag them into his fight, but he felt like he couldn''t win with one hand missing. jack bowed his head and Hamza stopped him from doing it. He didnt want to make him feel even more down.
I need to support him. no matter what it takes.
"Yeah, we need to talk. Let''s discuss it," Hamza looked around and saw the red dog staring at him with their eyes locked for a moment. The red dog quickly averted their eyes and got back to work. Hamza''s brows furrowed as his blue eyes took on a menacing, stern look.
"Jack, come with us for a few minutes," he said, nodding to Observer, who made a portal. Jack looked confused, wondering why, but he complied. Both of them had his utmost trust. They were the ones who had saved him, and he didn''t think they would do something to harm him. They had no reason to. He followed them into the portal as it closed behind them.
As Hamza and Observer departed, the crimson-hued canine abandoned its task with urgency. Swiftly, it navigated the labyrinthine streets of the night, finally reaching a concealed nook beside a looming building. In this hidden recess, shrouded by darkness, the dog retrieved its communicator¡ªa device resembling a simple button.
"They are making a move," the red dog said, their voice filled with urgency.
"Tell me everything," came the cold and chilling response of a woman on the other end.
Chapter 12: Plans in motion
In the dark, grim night casted a somber blanket over the worn-down city, enveloping it in a deafening silence. The preparations had been made with the plan that Jack had implemented. Several machines and areas were ready and waiting. The dogs now waited for the dawn to come, hoping that the three warriors would protect them in this upcoming peril.
They were hiding in the only building that was at the center of the area with no sides to enter other than the front. The building was in the center of the mining operation, obstructed on all sides except for the front opening. The old, weak, and feeble dogs prayed that they could make it alive as the forces of Aku approached, nearing dawn. Their desperation was etched on their faces.
Meanwhile, in a dark alley, Richard, the red dog, conversed with a figure using a button-like communicator. "My Lord Gurina, Spawn of the Great Aku, I humbly offer you the details of the matter at hand. I beg your pardon if my words do not meet your expectations, and I hope to avoid incurring your wrath," Richard spoke with a trembling voice, fearing the worst.
He proceeded to tell Gurina everything that had happened and what was planned. He spoke about the recent battles in the mining operation and the events that followed. He explained the plan to stop the siege and every detail, speaking truthfully.
"Please have mercy on my kin. Please spare us. Please give my son back. I beg of you," Richard pleaded, his voice shaking. He was being very bold, but he had not heard from his son for more than five months. The worry was eating him away, fearing the worst.
Richard had done all this because his hand was forced. Had it not been for his circumstances, he would have helped the humans. They were all humble archaeologists before all this. Aku took away his family and made him a spy to relay messages of revolts. His guilt was eating him away because he had no choice in the matter.
The air was thick with tension, and the sound of dogs whimpering echoed throughout the building. The darkness of the night only made the situation more ominous. The dogs knew that they were in grave danger, and they prayed that the warriors would come soon to save them.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
On the other hand, on a distant cliffside, a spark started, and swirling energy formed as a change in scenery could be seen. A portal opened, and three figures emerged into the open desert area near the cliffside. Hamza and Jack looked around as the portal behind them closed. Observer was smelling her clothes as she tagged along beside them. She felt intrigued by the smell; it was a new experience for her.
"Wow, I have a body odor, huh? It''s not bad, is it? I can''t tell by the smell," she sniffed herself, thinking. As she was doing her own thing, her eyes met with both Jack and Observer, who caught a glimpse of her.
Hamza and Jack''s brows furrowed as their gaze caught Observer sniffing. They looked around for prying eyes, their eyelids making a confused expression. Looking at each other after watching Observer, Hamza''s face palmed in embarrassment, and Jack just let out a small cough, not even thinking about it.
"This idiot! Can''t she pick a time and place to display her antics? My god, why did she say she''s my wife? I need to teach her basic etiquette," Hamza thought as he facepalmed.
Hamza pinched Observer''s cheeks widely as she walked without any context, looking at him confused yet oddly turned on observer didn¡¯t know what she did wrong, yet he didn''t say anything as they finally reached a small stone big enough to sit on, led by Hamza. Jack closed his eyes and smiled a little, barely noticeable.
The trio sat at a rough-hewn table of stone, with Hamza taking the lead in the conversation. Jack, shrouded in his flowing robes, remained in a meditative pose, readying himself for the impending discussion.
"Time for the bullshit mode, here we go," Hamza thought to himself before addressing Jack.
"I apologize for bringing you to this location, but it was necessary to avoid any unwanted attention."
Jack listened intently, without interrupting.
"I believe we have a mole who''s feeding information to Aku. The red dog''s constant scrutiny makes it quite evident," Hamza said in a serious tone.
Jack, showing boldness, not convinced replied, "Yes, I''ve noticed the dog''s gaze, but why would he betray his own people? They are already suffering under Aku''s tyranny."
Meanwhile, Observer, captivated by the sight of a colorful desert iguana perched on a nearby rock, observed the scene with a sense of awe.
"Knowing everything and experiencing it are so different. I''m grateful I didn''t grant my avatar omniscience," she thought to herself, trying to reach out to pet the iguana, only to watch it scamper away as she pouted.
Hamza was not surprised by Jack''s response, as he had expected some degree of skepticism from him at the beginning of their journey.
"So gullible. I hope this journey doesn''t break him mentally. From what I''ve seen so far, I''m unsure if anything I know will be of use in the future. This version of Aku is a menace. I must aid Jack for my own plans, as well as his safety. I''m convinced that I can''t accomplish much without Jack or the other main characters from other universes, assuming I don''t die before meeting them. For now, my priority is to keep them safe and accompany them," Hamza thought sternly, his expression reflecting his inner thoughts.
"Jack, I understand that you''re a kind man who wouldn''t suspect anything like this, but..." Hamza began, leading the conversation forward.
Hamza contemplated whether he should reveal his knowledge of the future.
"Is it too much of a risk at the moment?" he wondered.
"The domino butterfly effect could do more harm than good. I should build trust rather than rely on lying all the time. At least my teaching experience has come in handy," Hamza thought before finally speaking.
"Jack, I hope you can trust us. We want to help you destroy Aku for good more than anything. You don¡¯t even need to ask,"
He said, pausing briefly before continuing.
"Just believe me on this one. That dog is a threat to our entire plan to save these dogs from the coming siege of Akus army. We need to take action right now," he said, his blue eyes shining in the moonlight. He was dead serious as he confronted Jack on this topic. He hoped this version of Jack was different from the others. The upcoming battles and threats would be more brutal and unpredictable.
As Hamza had a heart-to-heart conversation with Jack, a system message appeared in front of his face. He tried not to frown as he read it. "I don''t want to give Jack the wrong impression," he thought, annoyed by the system''s messages. It was like having a pesky younger brother constantly bugging him, always in his face with the latest lame joke or prank.
The system gave him a message in front of his face as he had a heart-to-heart with Jack.

Meanwhile, Jack closed his eyes and nodded with his head held a little low. He knew what Hamza meant figuratively. "Very well, but let''s confirm it directly," he said.
Hamza nodded in affirmation. It was a reasonable compromise. "Either way, we should deal with the problem here and now before the siege," he thought.
As they stood up, Hamza saw Observer pouting on her knees and approached her with a blank expression. "What happened now?" he asked, trying to hide his annoyance.
"I saw an iguana, but I couldn''t pet him," Observer replied with sadness in her voice.
Hamza sighed as he petted her head, causing Observer to flinch. "She''s so gullible," he thought to himself. "An iguana and pets? Seriously?"
"I''ll catch one if I see one. So stop your gloomy attitude," he said with a pause, looking at her.
"You''re such high maintenance," Hamza added with a sarcastic tone.
Observer''s eyes lit up, "Promise?" she asked eagerly.
Hamza''s face turned serious,
"No. I can''t make promises I can''t keep. But you can trust me," he said blankly as he helped Observer stand up. She tried to kiss him, but he swiftly used his hands to block her face from even approaching him.
Jack was watching the comical scene between the two of them with a small smile. The moon was full and bright, casting a soft, silvery light over the desert landscape. The sand dunes looked like waves frozen in time, their ridges highlighted by the moon''s glow. The stars twinkled above, adding to the enchanting atmosphere. Taking in the beauty of the night. He felt a sense of peace and calmness wash over him, a welcome respite from the chaos and danger that usually surrounded him.
"The sorcery they possess is amazing. I''m glad they''re willing to help. I wonder what their history with Aku is, but judging from Hamza''s reaction, it''s not something I should bring up. We all have our own reasons and tragedies that Aku inflicted," Jack thought with a heavy heart, looking at his severed hand and reminiscing about his past.
"Jack, I nearly forgot to give you this," Hamza said as he dealt with an annoying observer and approached Jack. He grabbed her arm and dragged her with him, knowing he needed her help.
In his hand, Hamza held a small pill, which he showed to Jack on his palm.
"This pill can heal your severed hand and make it even better than before. I created it using magic," Hamza said with a grin.

Meanwhile, at the mining operation, the three dogs were on a mission to find Jack and the other humans. They needed to update Jack that all the preparations were complete and that dawn would be upon them in just a few hours. The trenches were dug and laced with sharp, durable crimson jewels. The machines were ready to use as a tactical advantage against the battle destroyer droids, and barrels of oil were strategically placed with triggers to boot.
"Say, have you seen the old champ?" the monocle dog asked the other two dogs.
"Aye, they went through the magical portal. I think they''ll be here soon," the black dog replied.
As they were talking, the red dog, Richard, came from the alleyway of the building, looking very distraught.
"Richard, my boy, have you seen Ja--?" the monocle dog paused as the group approached.
"Oh, I''m fine. No, I haven''t seen them, lads," Richard said, still looking upset.
The moonlight shone brightly on the group and the building, casting eerie shadows on the ground.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A looming, dark figure stood atop the highest cliff near the mining operation, its strands of darkness fluttering in the wind. The figure watched closely, observing everything with a sinister grin illuminated by the moonlight.
"So many snacks and toys," the figure said, its voice hollow and reverberating like that of a woman.
Chapter 13: Preparations Done
Jack appeared bewildered as he observed the pill Hamza held in his palm. After hearing the explanation, he looked at it quizzically.
¡°Are you certain about this?¡± Jack asked
Jack took the pill and examined it closely with his eyes. He couldn¡¯t believe that such things existed in the future where people used magic. For him, this future was weird in many ways. Jack pondered for a second.
He gazed at Hamza with a mixture of emotions, uncertain how to respond. The two people had been so kind and helpful without any ulterior motives. Jack recollected how many people he had encountered on his journey who had been kind to him.
¡°You can trust me. Just swallow it and wait for it to take effect. At this point, you owe me,¡± Hamza said with a chuckle.
Further adding on, Hamza stated, ¡°I expect you to shoulder more burdens. I¡¯m not as skilled a fighter as you believe me to be,¡± while looking at his fist. Hamza had faced the grim reality that he just couldn¡¯t measure up to the originals in terms of skills and the application of those skills. He just could copy the stats of the individuals. experience was something he lacked in spades. nothing could fill that gap. for now, he could only do so much till he got to go to DC.
After a brief pause, Hamza continued, ¡°But if I can do anything to assist you, I will. Believe me when I say I need you more than you will ever need little ol¡¯ me,¡± he said with a smile. observer lips curled up with a smile. She liked Hamza¡¯s answer a lot.
Jack had no words to express. He humbly bowed at a 90-degree angle to show his gratitude, smiling faintly as he bowed. Words were not necessary. Jack understood their intent and was very grateful for it.
I wonder if it works Jack thought to himself.
As he was about to put the pill in his mouth, Hamza interjected, ¡°It will be painful, so be prepared for the most excruciating pain,¡± he added.
Jack closed his eyes and swallowed the pill. Hamza and the observer watched him with anticipation. Suddenly, Jack clenched his left severed elbow, and his eyes turned red with the intensity of the pain. Hamza nodded to the observer.
¡°I need my pet iguana, you hear me?¡± she exclaimed as she rushed to Jack, who was wobbling in pain on the rocky ground, screaming.
¡°AHHHHHHH!¡±
She commenced her healing process. Her hands emitted a white and purplish glow as the energy swirled and enveloped Jack slightly. The observer knelt near Jack, tending to him, while Hamza held onto Jack¡¯s hands and feet to prevent him from making erratic movements. They looked at Jack, who was experiencing unbearable agony.
¡°It won¡¯t ease the pain, but it will restore some of your stamina. I¡¯m sorry, Jack, but it was the only way,¡± Hamza thought as he recalled what had happened a few hours earlier.
========================================================================================
A few hours earlier, Hamza sat with the observer, who was healing him while he used his abilities to check something. Despite the healing process, Hamza felt restless and bored.
¡°I¡¯m getting tired of staying in one place, and Observer¡¯s incessant humming is getting on my nerves,¡± he thought, glancing at her with annoyance. However, the observer persisted in touching him, purposely running her fingers over his chest.
¡°Stop it,¡± Hamza said with a frown, swatting her hands away.
¡°But I need to heal,¡± she pleaded, giving him puppy eyes.
Hamza gave her a blank stare before letting out a heavy sigh.
¡°I¡¯ll let her be, as long as she doesn¡¯t cross the line, for now,¡± he thought, allowing her to continue with the healing process.

¡°AAAhhh. Back up. My eyessss. You stupid system,¡± he cursed, covering his eyes. He rubbed them and opened them slowly, finding the screen at a safer distance.
Observer seemed unfazed by his outburst as she continued to stare at him, entranced for some reason.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.
¡°That was so intentional. I''ll tear you apart when we get into the origin void, you damn system,¡± Hamza thought, still irritated.
As he looked at the skill he had acquired, Hamza had some bizarre ideas.
¡°The name is amusing, though. Let''s try some stupid ideas,¡± he said, grinning mischievously at the game screen.
¡°First, let''s try the best thing I can think of,¡± he said, his mind racing with possibilities.

Hamza smiled as he gazed at the skill that had just appeared. "So I can create skills. I''m officially broken now," he exclaimed, bursting into laughter.
As he chuckled, the system displayed the GP required for the skill, but there was only one thing written under requirements ¨C an infinity symbol. Hamza''s laughter died down immediately, replaced by confusion.
The system popped up with a message:
¡°BAHAHAHA you thought I didn¡¯t foresee your weird ass abusing the skills¡± A text appeared. It was the system. As Hamza looked annoyed by the pop up. He figured as much. Nothing was that easy.
¡°Explain. Why can¡¯t I have skills?¡±
¡°The skills in general are cheats that override the current Omniverse to fit one individual. You don''t have that much power in your avatar form. Also, forget ever getting another skill or something like that. Your avatar is at the near-core limit of what is allowed. Any more and you''ll not only kill your avatar. You''re a smartass trying to pull a fast one."
Hamza pondered on this for a few minutes, and a smirk appeared on his face.
I have another idea similar to this, but I wonder if it will be nerfed as well.
"Alright, let''s try something else. How about a weapon?" he said enthusiastically.
He pondered on what type of weapon would be versatile enough for him to use, and after a few moments, an idea struck him.
|

"You''ve got to be kidding me. Wtf. Why is it so expensive? How do you expect me to get that much?" he grumbled.
"It''s a Green Lantern ring. What did you expect? There are no bargain sales here. You get what you pay for," the system retorted with a text displayed.
As Hamza pondered on his situation, he assessed his own abilities and brainstormed ideas to work around the issue. With a smirk, he made some adjustments to his plan, eager to test something new.

Examining the estimated cost for his custom lantern ring, Hamza let out a frustrated sigh. "Seriously? How much of a damn pain do you want it to be for me to afford something reasonable?" he grumbled.
The system responded with a sarcastic remark, taunting him for his failure.
"Keep on dreaming, burh. This weapon alone is a cheat item. Try thinking of something of your noob level. It would suit you better."
¡°Oh yeah, definitely a better system is on my list. Even being useless it would serve me better thank you¡± Hamza said with a smirk
¡°Fuck you,¡± The system said
The system retorted with profanity, and Hamza turned his attention to finding a more practical solution.
¡°It¡¯s a bummer but let''s just do something about Jack Arm.¡± He thought.
¡°There is a limit to the restriction as well. So keep that in mind. You can¡¯t abuse the restriction mechanic so don¡¯t even bother.¡± The system added on.
However, the system reminded him of the limit to the restriction mechanic and warned him against trying to abuse it. Keeping this in mind, Hamza created an item that would be affordable by adding several limitations and drawbacks. He noticed drawbacks were necessary

"This is such a highway robbery. My damn broken abilities cost less than a fifth of this," he grumbled.
The system responded bluntly,

Despite the high cost, Hamza considered it a good deal and wished he could give some abilities with Jack using the pill, but he was currently broke.

Currently, It had been three minutes since Jack ingested the pill, and his screams reverberated through the desert. Three minutes felt like an eternity for jack as he writhed in excruciating pain. His screams echoed through the barren desert, bouncing off the rocks and sand. The sound was deafening, almost otherworldly. He was writhing in agony, and even Hamza winced at the sight.
"Come on, Jack, I know you can handle this," Hamza encouraged him.
Observer was doing her best to heal Jack somewhat, and slowly but surely, his arm began to reform. Muscles and nerves worked together to create a hand, and every bone was meticulously reformed as the muscle adjusted to its new form. It was hard to look at for both Hamza and Observer waited anxiously for the five minutes to pass.
After what felt like hours, the pain began to subside. Jack''s screams turned into ragged gasps as he lay there, drained and exhausted. The silence was almost deafening, and Hamza and Observer let out a collective sigh of relief. Jack hand was fully formed, and he looked at it, remembering the intense battle with Aku that had nearly killed him. It was a close call, but he had emerged victorious. With labored breaths, he managed to say,
"It worked."
All three of them nodded, taking a breather after the ordeal.
Chapter 14: Incoming Siege
In the mining operation, close to the central building, a swirling vortex of energy formed, giving birth to a portal. From this portal emerged Hamza, Jack, and the Observer. The moonlight of the night was at its peak, casting a gentle glow on the surroundings. As Hamza and Jack approached the building, they were beckoned from behind by the dogs that had finally tracked them down. The dog with a monocle, expressed his delight as he met Jack and Hamza, who had been absent for an hour without notice.
"I¡¯m delighted to have finally found you lads. The preparations are complete. All the traps are set, and now we need to ready you for the imminent threat," informed the monocle-clad dog. Hamza, anxious to address the Aku informant before anything else, spoke up before the conversation could proceed to its conclusion, not wanting any further delay.
"Where is the red dog, Richard? We need to have a conversation with him before anything else." Hamza''s eyes and face grew stern, eager to confront this disruption. Time was of the essence as an army was on the brink of invading the mining operation.
"Oh, Richard. He is by the trenches. I can guide the way." Hamza subtly nodded to Jack, who reciprocated the gesture. Observer trailed behind them, strolling and taking in the surroundings. The entire mining operation had transformed drastically. Many machines had been repurposed as traps and tools for guerrilla warfare. Strategies involving oil barrels strategically positioned near entry points were in place. Hamza surveyed his surroundings meticulously, finding them as expected. However, one thing troubled him the most
Hamza felt a growing sense of urgency, realizing he might have already wasted too much time. Should he have eliminated the red dog earlier? Hamza looked lost in his thoughts as he walked along the others with his pace slowing down and trailing behind the group.
I don¡¯t know if he leaked the plans of the defensive traps? But I didn¡¯t have the opportunity also I needed to have a good relationship to manipulate every character. They are my lifeline so I can¡¯t risk it too much.
Feeling the weight of worry pressing upon him, Hamza hurried, the concern gnawing at his comfort. His face suddenly was faster than the group. Jack trailed behind at a slower pace, sensing from Hamza''s demeanor that something was amiss. After a few minutes of walking alongside the monocle-wearing dog, the group arrived at the dug trenches. As they neared, an alarming sight came into view.
"Is that the excavator we use for digging rocky terrain? Oh my! There shouldn''t be anyone here," the monocle dog exclaimed, worry etched on his face. Everyone was instructed to wait in the central building; no one should have been wandering around the mining operation city area.
Inexplicably, a massive machine designed for excavating rocky terrain and mines was actively at work, digging into the trenches filled with massive sharp rubies. The hum of the machine resonated as they approached, nearly obliterating the defense fortification that had been painstakingly built, dislodging the red ruby intrusions cleverly placed in the ground as spiked trench traps, just hours ago.
Hamza sensed something was profoundly wrong and sprinted toward the excavator-like machine, propelled by a surge of adrenaline. He made a high leap from the top, hurtling towards the machine below, and skillfully landed on its windshields
Crack!
Hamza swiftly positioned himself to peer into the compartment, and not to his astonishment, he discovered that it was Richard at the controls of the machine.
I knew it
The machinery came to an abrupt halt as Richard, the dog, froze in his place. An intruder had landed on the windshield, shattering it. The moonlight revealed the intruder''s blue sapphire eyes, sending shivers down Richard''s spine. Hamza, too, recognized him now as undoubtedly an Aku minion.
That¡¯s it. No room for mercy or remorse. Be useful as GP points, you trash
Hamza swiftly unsheathed his crimson ruby sword, prepared to strike. Before he could swing, Jack restrained his hand, a firm grip halting the lethal motion. Hamza looked at Jack, puzzled and annoyed.
"Why do you stop me, Jack? He''s undoubtedly working with Aku as an informant," Hamza asked, attempting to remain composed. He wanted to test what would transpire if he acted impulsively. Would Jack resent him for it? Hamza had heard Jack land on his feet just moments before he was about to attack.
"Let him have the chance to voice his opinion," Jack urged, his eyes reflecting concern as he released Hamza''s hand. Hamza pondered for a moment, a subtle smile forming on his face.
At least he trusts me enough to handle this issue calmly. That''s a promising sign. Now, how should I deal with this?
Securing the ruby sword in a makeshift sheath strapped to his back, Hamza seized Richard the dog with his right hand and hurled him above the trench like an athlete in a hammer-throw competition.
¡°Jack, I am not inclined to show mercy to a traitor,¡± Hamza declared, fixing his gaze on Jack. Jack nodded, his expression solemn.
I need to make Jack a lot more heavy-hearted. Otherwise, we will die in any uncertain situation
This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it
Hamza knew he needed to burden Jack''s heart more. In their current situation, any hint of uncertainty could be fatal.
With this version of Aku seeking blood, Hamza realized he had to gradually change Jack''s attitude. Clearing his mind, he leaped out of the massive trench, with Jack swiftly following suit. Richard, thrown into the rocky terrain, slid for a moment before regaining balance and standing up.
The entire group approached Richard, their tension palpable. Jack was the first to voice the burning question, ¡°Why did you do this? The trenches were established for a reason. Why disrupt the line of control here?¡±
Surveying the group, Hamza noticed everyone was tense, except Observer, who observed the scene as if it were a zoo. Both Jack and the monocle-wearing dog wore expressions of concern and uncertainty.
The sting of betrayal often comes from those within our closest circles, Hamza reflected, his gaze shifting to Observer. She winked at him, blowing a kiss, which was met with a cold, hard stare.
Time will reveal what she is truly up to.
Finally, Richard, the red dog, found the courage to speak after being questioned. His body trembled, revealing his fear, but he managed to calm himself and began to explain, ¡°Why, you ask? Because Aku will destroy us all. I had no choice. We cannot defy Aku,¡± he said, his eyes locked with the monocle dogs. Hamza, Observer, and Jack watched in silence.
¡°Why did you do it? Why did you recruit these warriors? They are going to betray us! What good is freedom if there is no one left to experience it?¡± the red dog asked.
¡°What are you saying? What future will we have working to death in these mines?¡± the monocle dog was pleased with the mummer the voice from his mouth shuttering as if he felt betrayed.
"We still have time! Kill me if you want, but I''ll serve Aku. Join me. We can beg and grovel at great Aku''s feet for mercy. We were never meant to be free!" The red dog''s voice rose, laced with rage and pain, the words tearing at his soul. He had made his choice, and now he had no other way to look.
"I''ve heard enough. You leaked all the plans, didn''t you?" Hamza asked, annoyance evident in his voice, his ruby sword sheathed.
With a sly smile, the red dog locked eyes with Hamza. "Smart one, eh! You won''t survive this sei-"
Ching ¡ª slurp.
The red dog''s head went flying from his body, fully decapitated by Hamza''s swift swing. He didn''t wait for the smug remark to conclude. Time was scarce, and the impending army siege was imminent, with forces closing in and dawn approaching.
Everyone stood shocked by Hamza''s actions. Jack was furious, his hands gripping Hamza''s shoulders.
"What have you done? We could have imprisoned him. Why did you have to kill him? He was defenseless."
Hamza shrugged off Jack''s grip, flinging the blood off his ruby sword onto the ground.
"He was a lost cause. He''d already made his choice. Didn''t you see? He would have done anything behind our backs to sow further chaos during the siege! Everyone makes a choice, Jack. He chose Aku.¡±
"Hamza spoke aloud. He understood that Jack didn''t have it in him to harm defenseless individuals; it was against his very nature. However, Hamza was a different story altogether. To him, they were nothing more than fictional characters - neither good nor bad. This was an opportunity to impart a hard lesson to Jack, a lesson he would learn in his journey, perhaps 50 years from now.
"There will be more individuals making these same choices. Will you spare your enemy then, even if they aid Aku? Forget this and let''s hurry; the army of beetle droids is closing in. Let''s go," Hamza stated, turning his back and sheathing his sword. The monocle dog fell to his knees beside the fallen body, mourning the loss of the red dog. Jack didn''t dare to comfort him; instead, he started digging a grave.
"I''m sorry. We can bury him. It''s the least we can do," Jack offered, beginning to dig a grave with a shovel he found nearby.
Hamza glanced at what was happening and deliberately slowed his pace. Observer quickly caught up to him, walking side by side.
"Are you certain this was the right thing to do? Weren''t you supposed to be Jack''s support?"
"Jack is too soft right now. I''m not even sure if we''ll survive here. He needs to understand that sometimes you can''t save others, or there''s no chance of redemption. You have to live with the consequences."
As Hamza walked, a notification appeared:
[You have eliminated an indirect innocent informant of Aku''s minion. 100 GP points]
"What?"
Hamza stared at the screen, a sense of shock and disbelief washing over him. He had never imagined that Richard, the red dog, was innocent.
Why didn''t he tell us? I thought he might have been manipulated, but he was innocent?
He halted for a moment, trying to absorb the weight of what he had just read. His hand trembled slightly. He had taken a life, not of a monster, but of an innocent being. He clenched his hand into a fist, stopping the tremors with a stern expression. Observer noticed this and spoke in a mildly amused yet provocative manner.
"What? Now you feel guilty? You didn''t think twice before striking him down, huh?"
"I made my choice. Whether it was wrong or right. In the end, they are just fictional characters from someone''s imagination. There is no right and wrong in this scenario," Hamza said, attempting to maintain composure. His legs shook, his steps uneven, betraying the facade of calmness. His racing heart only amplified the inner turmoil. He walked on in silence.
"Keep telling yourself that if you feel like it helps," Observer remarked, fully aware that Hamza was grappling with guilt. It was both amusing and frustrating to see him evade the truth. There would come a point where he had to accept the shift in his reality.
As everyone made their way to the central building in the mining operation area, Jack approached Hamza, who was now sitting on the ground. The monocle-wearing dog looked desolate, his eyes swollen from grief. Yet, despite his sorrow, he bowed slightly. Samurai Jack, embodying grace and respect, inclined his head, hands pressed together in a gesture of deep humility and reverence.
As you said, we all have made our own choices," the monocle dog said
Jack added with a plea, "Please help us!"
Hamza stood up from the ground, dusting off his clothes.
"That was the plan. Let''s gear up," Hamza said, a hint of tremor in his voice.
We all have made our choices, huh he thought, his heart heavy with the weight of their decisions.
Everyone emerged from the central building to tackle one last task. The dogs, loyal companions, assisted Jack, Hamza, and Observer in preparing for the impending siege. The metal plates scattered around were stripped and welded into makeshift armor by the skillful paws of the dogs. In the silent night, the air filled with the symphony of welding and the echoing clang of metal. Both Hamza and Jack were soon strapped in makeshift armor using chords from machines and ropes.
"I''ll be the marksman and watch your back," Hamza suggested as he fixed a machine string and tested the bow. Jack, nodding and smiling, continued crafting arrows from the crimson ruby, each one sharp and deadly as he tested it with his fingertips. It was sharp enough to cut even with a light touch.. He also fashioned spears, using the crimson ruby as the spearhead.
Observer was busy testing her power of telekinesis, shaping a suit of armor from the pile of rubies in a nearby mine cart. As dawn approached, they were almost ready. Jack acquired a steed from the dogs, armored and ready. He fashioned a flag for the resistance and mounted the steed, a massive six-legged creature with white skin. Jack rode this horse-like steed, fully prepared for battle. Each of them was armed with multiple spears and bows.
With a bow in hand, ready for battle, Hamza took a high position on one of the pillars in the mining field. Observer positioned herself near the trenches, her concentration palpable. Jack stood near the traps, ready to trigger them. They awaited the imminent dawn, the anticipation heavy in the air. The sounds of metal reverberated as Hamza observed the vast hills in the distance. The entire terrain seemed to darken as the beetle droid armada approached, the battle now truly beginning.
Perched upon a cliff higher than any within the desolate desert plains, a sinister figure reveled in sadistic delight, a burst of chilling laughter echoing through the shadows and the howling wind.
"Ahahaha."
"Such amusement derived from toying with their emotions. I crave more."
The figure leaped from the cliff, descending swiftly and darting from one precipice to another, rapidly approaching the mining operation area. A palpable threat loomed in the air as this malevolent force made its way toward the impending clash, driven by a dark hunger for chaos and torment.
Chapter 15: Lets rumble
In the heart of the vast desert, a tremor began to ripple through the barren landscape. The sound of echoing clanks grew louder and more insistent, like a metallic heartbeat pulsing through the air. A wave of black swept across the terrain, an army of massive battle droids moving in unison. Their sharp, scythe-like legs moved in a mechanical rhythm, crushing rocks and debris under their sheer weight and volume.
Clank-clank-clank.
The rhythmic clanking grew louder, the approaching wave of the army drawing closer to the mining operations in the remnants of an old city. Hamza and Jack watched from afar, their fortified mining operation braced for a siege. Traps were set, defenses were up, and anticipation hung heavy in the air.
As the droids approached, Hamza¡¯s gaze was drawn to an observer who seemed far too nonchalant about the impending battle. She was covered from head to toe in a chain mail armor of crimson rubies that she had crafted herself. She toyed with additional rubies using her telekinesis, an amazing sight that highlighted both her beauty and her craftiness. Yet something about her casual demeanor bothered Hamza. With a hint of frustration creeping into his voice, he spoke into his walkie-talkie.
She¡¯s far too casual about this, It¡¯s as if she doesn¡¯t even care.
He thought he should get her to concentrate
¡°Hey, stop playing observer and get ready. They¡¯ll be here any minute now¡ªover,¡± Hamza said, his voice crackling through the walkie-talkie.
¡°Wait, you were watching me? How do I look? ¨Cover,¡± she responded, her attention abruptly shifting as the ruby she had been levitating fell to the ground. She looked towards Hamza, who was perched on a distant sand-dune pillar, observing her like a hawk with a mix of sternness and confusion. With a sly grin, she struck a series of poses, each one more seductive than the last.
¡°Enough! You look good. Just be ready¡ No more games, okay? ¨Cover,¡± Hamza said, his voice firm. She responded with a simple ¡°fine¡± and blew him a kiss.
A chuckle escaped from Jack as he listened to their exchange over the walkie-talkie. The light-hearted banter lifted some of the tension that hung heavy in the air ahead of the impending battle. He held the walkie-talkie tighter, a small smile playing on his lips. Just a day ago, he had been alone, battling the immortal demon Aku. The fact that these people were willing to stand by him now when he had been sure he would die from his injuries, was comforting. But it also instilled in him a sense of responsibility.
I will not fail them Jack thought to himself. I must live up to their trust and hopes.
Jack¡¯s contemplation of his circumstances was abruptly interrupted by the ground shaking beneath him and the ominous sound of the approaching battle droid army. They were just a few meters away from entering the city. Jack quickly relayed his final instructions over the walkie-talkie.
¡°Hamza, Observer, take your positions. Everyone else, take cover,¡± Jack commanded, his voice steady despite the impending chaos. He vaulted over a dog that had been watching the impending siege from a nearby corner and sprinted towards the battlefield. The dog, along with others, retreated to the safety of the central building as planned.
Jack mounted his armored six-legged steed and sped off like the wind.
The beetle battle droids surged through the dilapidated city streets like a relentless flood, obliterating everything in their path. They moved over every terrain like an unstoppable tidal wave, their path splitting into three roads leading to the mining operation. Each road led to a different path that would eventually converge. Jack, Hamza, and Observer held the three lines of defense.
¡°I¡¯m glad I used my ability. I just hope I don¡¯t run out of time,¡± Hamza mused aloud, glancing at his abilities and stat sheet. He pondered whether to invest his attribute points now or save them for later to multiply his GP.

With a total of 90 GP and 5 attribute points left, Hamza made a hasty decision not to waste any points and to focus.
No more distractions or I might lose my life
Closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, Hamza tried to steady his nerves as the final seconds approached. He had concluded the previous battle with the demonic dogs that his copy ability was irrelevant in the Samurai Jack universe. Jack might be superior in agility and strength, but his greatest strength lay in his unmatched skill and experience¡ªsomething Hamza felt he couldn¡¯t compete with. He thought about what led to the decision
The only skill I can rely on is archery. I had a knack for it in my previous life. It¡¯s the one thing I could pride myself on after winning competitions. I can help him¡ I can do this¡
In a split second, Hamza swiftly retrieved his bow from its quiver, notching an arrow adorned with a crimson ruby tip. He aimed at the oil barrels stationed a kilometer away, strategically placed across the battlefield. The relentless beetle battle droid army sprinted across the road, unknowingly heading straight for the traps set in their path.
Sensing the opportune moment, Hamza focused, fixing his aim on the flint rock prepared to ignite the open-combustion oil barrels. He deftly pulled back on the bowstring, its metallic strips requiring all his strength to draw. The bow was no ordinary weapon¡ªit resonated with an odd resilience, producing tingling sounds as the string was loaded.
Squinting his eyes, Hamza whispered to himself, ¡°I can see it. Skill utilizing strength. I¡¯ve got that in spades with archery. Let¡¯s rumble, you heaps of metal scraps.¡±
This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.
Hamza had already covered his ears, having tested this bow before the battle. This was no ordinary bow¡ªit could launch arrows at near-supersonic speeds. It was different from Jack¡¯s bow; Hamza had crafted it using the sturdiest cord he could find in the mining operation area.
Swoosh
With a swoosh, the arrow cut through the air, its sharp sound akin to a miniature jet zooming past. The arrow traveled at blistering speed, and as the army crossed the barrels, it struck the tip of a flint rock, creating a spark.
Ching.
That was all it took to ignite the oil barrels.
Boom.
The explosion caught more than a few dozen droids in its shockwave and blast radius, creating a massive cloud of smoke and fire across the terrain. From his vantage point, Hamza watched with a stern look. Yet, the beetle battle droid army did not stop. They emerged from the fire, sprinting towards his location without slowing down. The clanking of their metallic appendages grew ever louder.
¡°One down, four more traps to go. I need to make each one count,¡± Hamza muttered to himself.

Before the system could display anything more, Hamza quickly interjected,
¡°Oye, system. Just give me the kill notifications for now. Unless it¡¯s serious.¡± He didn¡¯t even bother looking at the system screen as he swiftly moved to change his position. There was no time to waste.
[Understood. I won¡¯t bother you with unnecessary updates. Rip and tear until it¡¯s done] the system responded.
With a sly grin, Hamza remarked as he jumped and skidded from the arched pillar to the ground, ¡°Huh! No condescending behavior. Now you¡¯re speaking my language.¡±
The system retorted, ¡°You do realize that I exist to assist you, right? Although being a dick comes with the territory. In times like these, I must admit, I do enjoy the carnage.¡±
What a peculiar and sadistic system Hamza thought to himself.
Hamza quickly started climbing an oddly shaped crane for his second position. It was a challenging climb that took 30 seconds. He was late; the army was swift and had already passed the second checkpoint of the trap.
Standing atop the crane, he felt the air current stronger than he had anticipated. Taking a deep breath to calm his nerves, he prepared himself not to miss. He didn¡¯t have the luxury to repeat this; he had to make haste for the next checkpoint. Each attempt had to land for him to thin out some numbers.
¡°A calm and calculating mind is a deadly mind,¡± he reminded himself.
Loading his bow with an arrow tipped with ruby, he launched it after aiming at the second set of combustion oil barrels¡ªthis one was farther than the first one.
With a swoosh, the arrow hurtled through the air, its sharp, cutting sound slicing through the silence. It was a sensation Hamza had experienced before. The arrow, with its unrivaled speed and power, streaked across the distance at an electrifying pace, perfectly timed with the army¡¯s movement toward the barrels. As it made contact with the flint rock, a lively spark ignited.
Hamza struck a quick victory pose, mimicking a gun firing with his hand for a touch of flair.
¡°Boom.¡±
[You have killed X¨Cbeetle battle droid 45]
¡°Haha! Scored!¡± Hamza exclaimed.
He quickly jumped from the crane, using the protruding poles to maneuver and descend as swiftly as possible.
¡°I knew Jack¡¯s stats would come in handy. And who would¡¯ve thought that the gymnastics classes I took in college would prove useful after all these years? On to the next,¡± Hamza thought to himself.
He quickly detoured to the next vantage point. He had planned with Jack that as soon as he thinned out some droids from his positions, he would join him. He knew that each vantage point was critical. The strafing was just a few barrels, but at the end of the last two traps were more than 50 or 100 barrels.
In the original events, Jack was just one man trying to do everything. But now it¡¯s a bit different with stakes even higher. I made use of that and told the dogs and Jack to trust me. To empty all the reserves the mining operation had,¡± Hamza reflected as he ran towards another crane that was even higher than the previous one.
¡°Every shot must count,¡± he declared with a voice full of determination. He needed to bolster his confidence, even if it meant speaking the words aloud to convince himself.
Speaking into his walkie-talkie, he said, ¡°Observer, I¡¯m heading your way. Let me know if you need sharpshooting support. I can make one shot if I get there early.¡±
Meanwhile, Observer¡¯s battle had also begun. Her solitude was making her moody; she didn¡¯t enjoy being alone.
¡°Damn it! I told them I wanted to be with my darling, but they wouldn¡¯t listen,¡± Observer grumbled aloud. She was perched atop a pile of beetle battle droid corpses, their metallic bodies gleaming with shards of crimson rubies. The battlefield echoed with the clanking of robotic limbs and the sizzle of destroyed circuits.
A few hundred battle droids that had been trailing behind the main force began to swarm Observer¡¯s location. They halted at the sight of the mountain of corpses, their linked minds processing the data of what had transpired.
At the start of the siege, the droids were crushed and pierced by massive ruby shards. As more droids fell, they began to fill the trenches. The remaining swarm marched over their fallen comrades, but as they advanced, shards from below rose in an instant and destroyed them.
Boom.
¡°This is hard. I¡¯m getting overwhelmed,¡± Observer admitted, her hands raised as if force-choking with her telekinesis. She was holding the line by blocking and destroying the droids with massive shards of rubies, but their numbers seemed endless.
Suddenly, an idea sparked in her mind. She had been practicing with shards; her crimson ruby armor was made of them and held together by her telekinesis.
What if I use smaller shards instead of big ones? They require less power and cause less exhaustion. These crimson rubies are so sharp and sturdy; with some force, they could pierce anything she thought.
A notification popped up as she pondered this while barely holding the line of defense with a shard barrier.

The memory logs ended with each battle droid being torn apart by an unseen force. As the memory catalog closed, droids swiftly converged on the mountain of fallen comrades, attempting to scale it in a desperate bid to reach Observer, who had maintained her distance from the previous battlefield.

With a sigh slipping from her lips, Observer leaped from the mountain of battle droid remains to the ground. Crimson ruby shards orbited her body on various axes, some spinning horizontally, others on different planes. It was as if she commanded their gravity.

Chapter 16: Raging Storm of Crimson Shards
The rotation of the shards around the observer was accelerating by the second. Their speed had increased to such an extent that they whipped up a windstorm in the observer¡¯s immediate vicinity. She stood her ground, her gaze fixed on the hundreds of droids that began to charge at her without any hesitation. Her sapphire eyes glowed with a neon light, signaling her readiness for whatever was to come. The intricate network of circuit-like nerves tracing her irises lit up in response. Her unique octopus haircut, with long black tendrils cascading over her shoulders, whipped wildly in the windstorm. The metallic clanking of the beetle-like battle droids, towering over her, grew louder as they approached hastily, balancing on two of their appendages just a few feet away. 01
The battle droids launched their lethal assault in unison, their scythe-shaped appendages slicing through the air with deadly precision. They had formed a perfect circle around her, leaving no room for escape or evasion. Like a relentless storm of steel, their appendages rained down upon her.
Whoosh!
Unfazed, Observer stood firm with a smirk playing on her lips. At her command, the ruby shards orbiting her launched towards the droids like bullets from a gun barrel. These rubies tore through the heavy metal frames of the beetle-like battle droids with ease, akin to a rapid-fire submachine gun unleashing its fury.
Clank- Rattle ¨CThung ¨C Thung
But the shards didn¡¯t just fire off and vanish into oblivion. They returned to their origin point to strike again with blistering speed, relentlessly piercing through the droids¡¯ defenses. In mere seconds, the once formidable droids were reduced to unrecognizable heaps of shredded metal and sparking circuits. The nine droids that had encircled her collapsed under their own weight, their remains scattered around her like remnants of a fierce storm. A small crimson ruby shield protected the observer¡¯s head, effortlessly deflecting the falling scythe-shaped appendages as they descended with the destroyed droids.
As the dust cleared, observer emerged, standing tall amidst the chaos. A thin trail of blood trickled down from a wound on her head, and she drew heavy, labored breaths¡
¡°I underestimated them,¡± she admitted to herself, ¡°They¡¯re stronger than I anticipated. My telekinesis drains my stamina way to fast, and they managed to break through my shield.¡±
Despite an entire night spent in rigorous training, her control over her powers was still far from perfect. She reached up to touch her face, adjusting her disheveled hair. The hundreds of droids watched from a distance, their caution evident as they kept their distance from her formidable presence. As she touched a wound on her cheek and saw the blood on her fingers, she froze in place. An eerie silence descended upon the battlefield, broken only by the mournful howl of the desert winds.
¡°How dare you mar my face? You DARE!¡± she roared into the silence.
¡°What will he think if he sees me scarred?¡± Her voice echoed across the battlefield as everything around her - pebbles, debris, even destroyed droids - began to levitate in response to her rising anger. A distant buzzing noise came from her belt pouch - it was her walkie-talkie - but she was too consumed by rage to notice.
¡°No more games¡ This is personal¡ NO MERCY!¡± With these words, an aura of palpable fear radiated from her. The droids began retreating one by one, their large blue eyes wide with terror as they felt the full force of her bloodlust. They turned tail and fled in panic as she levitated off the ground, a cold and deadly stare fixed on their retreating forms.
With a swift motion of her right hand, the observer seemed to pull at an unseen force. Suddenly, hundreds of battle droids began to float helplessly before being violently plunged into the solid rocky ground. Large shards rose up from the already dead droids and from the trenches. They all levitated high above the droids pinned down, casting ominous shadows on the battlefield below. In the air Hundreds of shares were suspended.
¡°AHHHHHH!¡± she screamed, her left hand mimicking a throwing motion. At her command, every single shard suspended in the air plummeted with terrifying speed. The droids were immobilized, some facing downwards, oblivious to their impending doom. Others looked upwards, witnessing their imminent demise as the massive shards descended like a hailstorm of deadly arrows. A force of unimaginable weight pressed down on them, crushing them as if they were caught in a hydraulic press.
Clank-- Shatter¨CSmash¨CCrush
A massive explosion erupted as dozens of droids detonated in a fiery blast, lighting up the battlefield.
Boom
When the dust settled, the battlefield was a gruesome sight - littered with the mangled remains of droids and massive shards, leaving no room to even set foot. The crackling of circuits and discharges echoed eerily across the desolate landscape. It was a massacre of epic proportions, with black oil seeping from the destroyed droids staining the battlefield. observer collapsed from exhaustion, her body drenched in sweat as she gasped for breath. She lay on the ground, too weak to move.
A notification popped up on her system screen, displaying a new message as she struggled to catch her breath.
She felt as though she had been running all day without a moment¡¯s rest. So this was what it felt like - the raw sensation of pain and exhaustion.

¡°I like it,¡± she murmured, a faint blush spreading across her face.
As she read the message on her screen,
,
| You have killed X- Beetle battle droid 987. 10% (9870) will be given to Hamza as GP points |
she wished she could reach out to him, but her body refused to cooperate.
¡°I want to contact him, but I can¡¯t move,¡± she gasped, her breaths coming in short, ragged bursts. The harsh desert sun beat down on her, causing sweat to bead on her forehead. After a few minutes, her breathing began to slow and steady.
Suddenly, the screeching sound of hydraulics pierced the silence. Turning her head, she saw a half-destroyed beetle battle droid dragging its mangled body towards her. Oil leaked from its damaged frame, and sparks flew from its short-circuiting wires. It moved with a mechanical determination, using one of its scythe-shaped appendages to claw at the ground and pull itself forward.
A sense of dread washed over the observer as the droid inched closer. She tried to move but found herself paralyzed. Calling for help was futile - Jack and Hamza were kilometers away.
¡°I don¡¯t want to die like this,¡± she whispered in a voice barely above a whisper. It was the first time she had ever felt fear - raw, unfiltered fear that she would die a meaningless death so soon. She had so many dreams, so many experiences yet to be lived.
¡°Hamza! Help me!¡± she cried out in a voice choked with tears as the droid loomed over her, its torn body casting a shadow over her. She closed her eyes as darkness enveloped her.
I guess this life was not meant to be a good one. I¡¯m sorry..
With a final creak, the droid¡¯s scythe-shaped appendage was raised, ready to deliver the fatal blow. It fell with a swift motion.
Ching
Moments passed, yet the expected pain of the impaling strike didn¡¯t come. Slowly opening her eyes, she was met with the sight of a long, crimson, ruby-like sword blocking the droid¡¯s attack.
¡°You called, and I¡¯m here. Let me handle this!¡± a familiar voice said. His blue eyes met her teary ones as he smiled reassuringly from beside her. His smile seemed to wash away all her worries and fears. With a gentle pat on her head, he effortlessly deflected the half-dead beetle battle droid¡¯s attack with his crimson ruby sword.
With a swift kick, Hamza sent the droid flying into the air. As it descended, he sliced it into pieces before it hit the ground. He then sheathed his sword, now free of the oil that had coated it.
Slowly, Hamza approached her and gently helped her sit up while still on the ground.
¡°How did you get here? And how did you know I was in trouble?¡± she asked softly, her eyes welling up with tears. She couldn¡¯t believe that Hamza had come as soon as she called for him. Her emotions were a whirlwind of relief and gratitude.
In response, he simply took out her walkie-talkie from the pouch on her belt.
¡°You didn¡¯t answer. I thought you were in trouble. I had to make a choice: either go to my next checkpoint or come for you. Looks like I made the right call,¡± he said with a smile, giving her another comforting pat on the head. Overwhelmed by his kindness and timely rescue, she burst into tears. As she covered her face, she remembered the scar on her right cheek.
Tears streamed down her face as she pleaded, ¡°Don¡¯t look at me. You¡¯ll despise what you see. My face¡ it¡¯s scarred. Please don¡¯t hate me.¡± Hamza sighed deeply, a mix of frustration and concern etched on his face.
I wonder if her innocence was an act or if she was genuinely oblivious
Gently, he removed her hands from her face and with a swift motion, flicked her forehead.
¡°Ouch! Why would you do that?¡± she protested, rubbing the spot where his finger had made contact.
He simply shrugged, ¡°Don¡¯t worry about it.¡± Reaching into one of the pouches on his belt, he pulled out a cloth. With tender precision, he began to wipe away the blood and grime that marred her beautiful face.
¡°I¡¯ll let you in on a secret,¡± he said softly, his eyes never leaving hers. ¡°I find scars attractive. And a woman with muscles? That¡¯s even more appealing to me.¡±
He paused for a moment before continuing, ¡°Now take these pills. I just made them.¡±

Can you come closer? I have something to tell you,¡± she requested softly.
He complied, reducing the distance between them.
¡°More,¡± she whispered.
He moved even closer, their faces now just an inch apart.
¡°Obse-¡±
Before he could react, she grabbed his jacket collar and pulled him towards her, their lips meeting in a gentle kiss. She kissed him slowly, then pulled away, a shy smile playing on her lips.
¡°That¡¯s your reward. Thanks, darling,¡± she said, her voice filled with enthusiasm.
He stood frozen in place, stunned by her bold move. Observer swallowed the colorful pill Hamza had given her earlier. Suddenly, she couldn¡¯t move. Hamza looked surprised but quickly regained his composure.
¡°You and your schemes¡ You are just too cheeky¡± he teased, playfully pinching her cheeks. As he played with her cheeks as she could not move. Her annoyance was evident, her cheeks flushed a deep red. Hamza felt a twinge of discomfort but quickly brushed it off.
Getting up, he scanned their surroundings to pass the time while the pill took effect. The sight that met his eyes was eerie - endless corpses of battle droids lay in waste, their bodies impaled by shards of crimson rubies. The sight was unsettling.
I hope she doesn¡¯t go yandere on me¡ This is too much for even me to handle
Despite everything, Hamza managed a smile as he sat beside her and patted her head.
¡°Damn, you destroyed an entire army¡ If you keep this up, I might just be able to tolerate more of your shenanigans.¡±
As the minute passed, she rose, her eyes gleaming with mischief. She moved towards him, ready to steal another kiss, but he stopped her with a firm hand.
¡°Hold on! We don¡¯t have time for this,¡± he said sternly.
¡°Just one more,¡± she pleaded.
¡°Can you run? We need to get to the third checkpoint on that crane as fast as possible,¡± he asked, urgency creeping into his voice. The beetle droid army was still passing through, each part a kilometer or 0.6 miles apart.
She smiled, her hands gently folded and fingers interlocked in quiet contemplation. An amused look danced in her eyes.
With a swift gesture, a portal opened.
¡°Do we still have time for the third checkpoint? I expect compensation¡ and my iguana. You still haven¡¯t given me my iguana,¡± she said, a sly smile playing on her lips.
Oh I forgot she had a portal teleportation type thing. Nice
¡°okay. Sure , I''ll try to find one after we deal with the current situation and live. let¡¯s go,¡± he agreed with a smile. They stepped through the portal and found themselves at the third checkpoint.
He couldn¡¯t help but think, I might have actually fallen for her if not for her ominous nature.
Hamza smirked as he unstrapped his bow from his back and pulled an arrow from his quiver. He took aim and let the arrow fly.
¡°Boom!¡± The sound echoed through the air.

Chapter 17: Hunting The Marksman!
Perched atop one of the four towering cranes scattered across the vast expanse of the mining operation area, Hamza and Observer stood in silent anticipation. Hamza¡¯s muscles strained as he pulled back on the bowstring, the metallic strips humming with tension. The bowstring resonated with a peculiar resilience, producing a tingling sound that echoed in the still air.
A little distance away, Observer watched Keely with an intense gaze. She stood near the edge of the crane¡¯s cab, her silhouette outlined against the vast landscape.
With a swift motion, Hamza released the arrow. It sliced through the air with a piercing whoosh, its sound echoing like a tiny jet darting swiftly through the sky. The noise was so intense that Observer had to cover her ears, falling to her knees on the cab¡¯s floor. The wind whipped around them, unimpeded by any structures or the massive sand dunes that lay behind the cranes.
Whoosh
¡°My ears¡ You idiot! At least warn me,¡± she shouted over the wind, her voice filled with annoyance.
¡°Fuck! I missed,¡± Hamza muttered under his breath as he watched the arrow veer off course. Instead of hitting its intended target - a flint rock - it struck one of the beetle-like battle droids that were traversing the rugged terrain.
Boom
The impact resulted in an explosion that echoed across the barren landscape. A single droid was destroyed, its metallic body disintegrating under the force of the blast.
With a heavy sigh, Hamza made his way towards Observer, his figure silhouetted against the backdrop of destruction.
Observer watched him closely, reading his emotions like an open book. His face was etched with seriousness, his brows furrowed in anger and his eyes fixed on the ground. It was as if he was reliving past memories of feeling useless and abused. The intensity of his gaze spoke volumes about his determination to overcome his past and prove his worth.
¡°I missed. Dammit it! This is a disaster. We can¡¯t afford to waste time here,¡± Hamza muttered, his head bowed in frustration. Standing opposite him, Observer slowly rose to her feet, a sense of unease creeping over her. Hamza¡¯s anger was palpable, his hand clenched into a trembling fist. His self-loathing was evident in his demeanor, the weight of his mistake bearing down on him.
He knew better than anyone that this had been an uphill battle from the start, a situation complicated by the butterfly effect to such an extent that there was no room for error. The alternative was a looming specter of death. He could leave this battle, but he knew Jack would stay. Jack was his only lifeline in this world, the strongest among them. His strategies relied heavily on cooperation; it had been all or nothing since he started helping Jack.
After seeing observer I feel like I didn¡¯t even do simple things. I don¡¯t want to be a burden. Never again. I never want to go through that again. Like in my past.
¡°I¡¯m not useless¡± he uttered barely a whisper.
Observer watched him closely, reading his emotions like an open book. His face was etched with seriousness, his brows furrowed in anger and his eyes fixed on the ground. It was as if he was reliving past memories of feeling useless and abused. The intensity of his gaze spoke volumes about his determination to overcome his past which gave him the anxiety he lived with.
¡°No worries, you¡¯ll succeed next time,¡± Observer said, her voice filled with concern. But her words only seemed to exacerbate Hamza¡¯s frustration.
¡°You don¡¯t understand. We¡¯re running out of time. They¡¯ve almost passed the third checkpoint. We need to hurry to the fourth one,¡± Hamza retorted, his voice echoing in the wind-swept expanse. His outburst made Observer flinch and take a step back. This was the first time she had seen him genuinely angry, and she was at a loss for how to respond.
Hamza fell silent, realizing he was unfairly venting his frustration on Observer. He felt a pang of guilt for his outburst.
But Observer wasn¡¯t about to let him wallow in self-pity. She knew about his past and understood his tendency to be hard on himself. She wanted to support him
Knowing his history and past he¡¯s going to be hard on himself. He is someone with a lot of self-loathing and an inferiority complex
Gathering her courage, she finally spoke up. ¡°Wait! I can create a portal directly to the spot you were aiming for. It will be exhausting, but I can manage it since I¡¯ve restored my stamina with the pill you gave me.¡±
She reached out and gently held Hamza¡¯s trembling hand, trying to soothe his anger. ¡°Let me try, please! I can salvage this situation. If it doesn¡¯t work, I¡¯ll get us to the fourth checkpoint immediately. We all make mistakes. Just trust me!¡± Her voice was firm, filled with determination and resolve.
Hamza knew about Observer¡¯s ability to create portals, but he wasn¡¯t sure if she could pull off something like this. His face was a mask of uncertainty, his eyes reflecting his inner turmoil. Taking a deep breath, he slapped his face with both hands.
I can¡¯t let my emotions get the best of me. We all make mistakes. I won¡¯t make one again.
Looking from the distance from his vantage point. Hamza tried to assess the situation. From his vantage point, Hamza surveyed the scene below. Countless beetle-like battle droids were marching along the intersecting roads.
The author''s narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.
One road is clear because of Observer. I owe her an iguana now. She¡¯s so reliable.
A small smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. His gaze then shifted to the army that was almost through the third checkpoint. With Jack¡¯s enhanced senses, he could see a few barrels of combustion oil still intact as the army continued its march.
Time is running out. We can thin their numbers here.
Hamza quickly formulated a plan. They still had a chance, despite the overwhelming numbers. It was now or never. Observer smiled as Hamza nodded in her direction, glad that she could be of help. He approached her and gently placed some cloth buds in her ears, a precaution he had thoughtfully prepared for if he lost his ones in a confrontation. It made her blush, but he quickly snapped her back to reality.
¡°Focus!¡± he said, pointing in the direction of the oil barrels.
Observer¡¯s eyes scanned the landscape, squinting to pinpoint the location of the oil barrels from their elevated position on the crane. Once she had a clear visual, she gestured with her hands, and a portal materialized. Hamza, in sync with her actions, swiftly drew an arrow from his quiver and notched it on his bow. He aimed at the portal, ready to release the arrow as soon as he had a clear shot.
¡°No more mistakes,¡± he declared in a stern voice. As the portal opened, revealing a bird¡¯s-eye view of the battlefield, he could see the oil barrels nestled next to a large cliff in the middle of the road. The mechanical clicking of the beetle battle droids echoed through the air as they marched forward.
A few droids noticed the anomaly in the sky and with registering one of the few targets was standing and lunged towards it. Their metallic wings flapped a few times propelling them towards the portal. Hamza¡¯s gaze was fixed on them, his aim steady on the flint rock strapped to one of the open oil barrels. He pulled back on his bowstring with all his might and launched an arrow.
¡°Scream for me, bicthes!¡± he shouted defiantly. As the droids approached the portal in haste, Hamza prepared for their onslaught.
With a steady aim, Hamza released the arrow. A sonic boom echoed across the mining operation area, the shockwave thrusting away the droids that had approached the portal. The ruby-tipped arrow pierced through the droids without losing speed, lunging at the oil barrels and destroying them scattering the entire oil and broken pieces of the barrels and catching the spark causing a massive explosion. The scattered oil ignited as the portal closed, creating a fiery spectacle in the barren landscape.
Hamza turned his attention to Observer, who was huffing and puffing from the effort of creating the portal. He approached her and offered his hand for support. ¡°Opening portals at such a distance is obnoxiously hard,¡± she gasped, struggling to catch her breath.
A series of notifications popped up from the system, confirming Hamza¡¯s success:

Hamza glanced at the messages, finding some satisfaction in the small notifications.
If this system wasn¡¯t getting high from the carnage, it would be bothering me. Well, it¡¯s a nice change of pace.
¡°See, I told you it would work!¡± Observer exclaimed between erratic breaths. The joy on her face was evident, but Hamza was concerned about her exhaustion. She was too out of it to even portal her way to the 4th check point. With haste he took her in her arms and carried her but stopped as he looked at the position of the crane.
As Hamza surveyed the position of the crane they were standing on, an idea sparked in his mind. He stopped walking and gently set Observer down.
¡°Umm. Something wrong?¡± Observer asked, her curiosity piqued. She had thought he would carry her to the next checkpoint, and his sudden change of plan left her feeling a bit disappointed. Hamza guided her to sit on the counterweight area of the crane.
I¡¯ve come up with a solution. A drastic one.
He knew he wouldn¡¯t make it to the next checkpoint in time if he had to carry Observer on his back.
Sighing, he said, ¡°I¡¯m insane, but it¡¯s the quickest way to the fourth checkpoint.¡± He unsheathed his sword from its back sheath and readied himself to strike. They were both standing on the counterweight on the other side of the crane. His crimson ruby sword gleamed in the desert sunlight as he braced himself to use his full force to cut the counterweight.
With a loud cry, he unleashed an attack on the joint holding the counterweight.
Ching
His powerful blow barely managed to cut it in one swing. He quickly grabbed Observer and balanced himself at the edge of the crane where the counterweight was. It fell to the ground with a massive thud.
Thung
¡°Welcome to Hamza Airlines! Just hold on! Talking in 3, 2, 1¡±
"Hold on!" he shouted to Observer, their eyes locked in a fierce determination. "This ride is about to get wild." He glanced down at the falling counterweight, calculating the distance and timing in his mind.
As the crane swayed and shuddered from the sudden loss of the counterweight, he seized the opportunity. With adrenaline pumping through his veins, he sprinted towards the edge of the tilting crane. He could feel the rush of air as the massive structure teetered and swung in response to the sudden shift in balance.
With a powerful leap, he soared off the crane''s edge, carrying the momentum of the tilting structure. The world blurred around him as he hurtled through the air like a human projectile, propelled by the crane''s swinging motion. Hamza carried Observer securely in his arms, their trust in him evident in their unwavering gaze.
The distance to the next crane, a kilometer away, seemed both exhilarating and daunting. His crimson ruby sword gleamed in the desert sunlight as he arced through the sky, aiming for the distant crane''s arm. Time seemed to slow as he approached the target, calculating the trajectory and angle of his flight.
With breathtaking precision, he angled his body and swung his sword, using it as a rudder to adjust his course. He felt the rush of wind and the G-forces as he closed the gap rapidly. The extended arm of the distant crane loomed closer, and he braced for impact.
He crashed into the arm, a mix of controlled force and sheer will, carrying Observer safely in his arms. The landing was rough, but he managed to maintain his grip and slide on the terrain near the crane. Both of them were battered and bruised, but they had made it without serious injuries.
Observer eyes were wide with awe and exhilaration laughing, "ahahha¡±
¡°This is just like skydiving¡±
Brushing off the dust and peeling bits of skin from small injuries obtained during his skid through the treacherous rocky terrain, he quickly checked both himself and the observer. Fortunately, there weren''t many injuries.
With a triumphant, albeit pained, smile on his lips, he replied, "Just in time. Fourth checkpoint."
¡°Slur- Glur.¡±
As he sprinted forward, an unsettling sensation gripped him. In an instant, something viciously gouged into his stomach. He glanced down to see a massive, wickedly sharp object protruding from his abdomen, spewing a torrent of blood. Hamza quickly shifted his gaze towards the figure responsible, dread seeping in.
¡°Found you! I''ve finally caught up to you, you rascals,¡± a dark mist surrounded the figure, emanating a deathly aura that enveloped the area like a shroud. A form he knew all too well. observer watched in horror, her exhaustion from creating the portal rendering her unable to react.
An Aku minion. Here?
"Let the fun begin."
Chapter 18: Impending doom!
Standing on the crane massive cabin, Hamza felt a disquieting unease, as if something was terribly wrong. The reality, however, was far more chaotic than he could have ever anticipated. He had been attacked, yet he hadn¡¯t noticed or registered the assault. Despite his heightened senses, akin to those of Samurai Jack, he remained oblivious to the critical injury that had pierced his stomach until it was too late.
Pain was an afterthought as he struggled to utter a word while blood spewed from his mouth. The pain surged through him like a tidal wave, but through sheer willpower, he resisted the urge to succumb to unconsciousness. His bloodshot eyes remained open, darting erratically as he grappled with the excruciating pain coursing through his body.
A sharp, black metallic/crystalline object was lodged in his abdomen. Summoning all his strength, he turned to identify his attacker, only to be met with a sight he wished he could unsee. A dark mist shrouded the figure, its form as black as obsidian. Only its menacing yellow eyes were visible to both Hamza and the Observer. The entity towered over them by several feet, emanating an eerie and terrifying aura of pure malice. Its first words reverberated ominously in their ears, amplifying the horror of the situation.
¡°Found you! I¡¯ve finally caught up to you, you rascals,¡± Hamza exclaimed, recognizing the form before him all too well.
Could it be an Aku minion? Here? It certainly bore a striking resemblance to Aku. Perhaps a bounty hunter or a henchman?
As soon as his gaze fell upon the figure, a system message materialized.
¡°Run! That Thing¡ You will meet your end if you confront it!¡± The system notification echoed ominously, urging Hamza to flee.
Observer could only watch in abject horror. The exhaustion from creating the portal had left her incapacitated, unable to react. She was forced to witness Hamza¡¯s suffering, his pain and agony palpable. Yet, despite her trembling knees and the blood spewing from Hamza¡¯s mouth, she attempted to rise.
¡°Let the fun begin,¡± the entity declared. Its terrifying, erratic giggles grew louder as its second hand morphed into a scythe-like appendage. A dozen more sharp protrusions appeared, ready to skewer Hamza like a kebab. Hamza watched in horror, giving Observer a heavy nod of trust. The realization hit her instantly; she could predict what he was implying. With trembling lips and a racing heart, she steeled herself. As the entity prepared to strike, Observer used her telekinesis to wrench Hamza from its grasp.
Hamza was yanked away forcefully as the sharp object was ripped from his abdomen. Observer caught him in her trembling arms as his blood gushed out at an alarming rate. The entity observed them in silence before speaking.
¡°Interesting. Can you dodge this?¡± No sooner had the words left its mouth than Hamza activated an ability he had never used before - a desperate measure for desperate times.
In his desperation, he even called out its name.
¡°Za-worldo.¡±

The world around them seemed to lose its vibrancy, fading into stark monochrome as time came to a standstill. Everything froze in place, suspended in a timeless void. Hamza¡¯s gaze fell upon Observer, his vision hazy yet filled with horror. She was on the brink of being impaled by the scythe-like black entity that had already pierced her shoulder. The remaining parts of the scythe-like entity were perilously close to her.
Could she move in stopped time? Was it because of their link?
One second passed.
Time was slipping away. Hamza let out a desperate scream, trying to capture Observer¡¯s attention.
¡°Observer!¡± His voice echoed through the stillness as blood gushed from his abdominal wound.
Two seconds passed.
Stolen story; please report.
Hamza¡¯s desperate cries caught Observer¡¯s attention. She struggled to free her shoulder, pushing back against the entity. With a final effort, she broke free, blood spewing from her shoulder wound.
¡°Teleport us out of here near Jack. We¡¯ll die if we face that thing,¡± Hamza screamed with all his might, choking on his own blood. Despite the numbing cold spreading through him and the desperation etched on his face, he managed to utter one more word with his bloodshot eyes.
¡°Hurry!¡±
Three seconds passed.
Time was running out as their ability to manipulate it was fading. Observer mustered all her strength and energy to create a portal towards the massive central building in sight. She knew Jack¡¯s line of defense was closest to that building.
Four seconds passed.
With the portal now open, she hurled both Hamza and herself into it in a last-ditch effort to escape.
Five seconds passed.
Boom
Hamza lay sprawled on the ground, his lifeblood seeping into the earth beside Observer, who was too weak to stand. Drawing a ragged breath, she forced her trembling body upright to assess Hamza¡¯s condition. His body bore a gaping wound, his organs ravaged and strewn across the rocky terrain. Despite the severity of his injuries, Hamza clung to consciousness, weakly gesturing towards his pockets.
Tears welled in Observer¡¯s eyes as she frantically attempted to administer first aid. As Hamza¡¯s lips moved to speak, she leaned in closer to catch his faint words.
¡°The pills¡ My pocket. Hurry.¡±
With urgency driving her actions, Observer rifled through his pockets to find seven pills. Two bore a familiar hue - the same ones she had been given earlier. The remaining five were stark white. Wasting no time, she forced two white pills into Hamza¡¯s mouth. His need for immediate medical attention was dire; he was losing blood at an alarming rate.
¡°Help! He¡¯s dying!¡± Observer cried out, her gaze sweeping over the seemingly deserted building.
The commotion reached the ears of all the dogs nearby. Recognizing the familiar voice, they turned their attention to the dire state of Hamza and Observer. The monocle dog issued a command - everyone was to rush and provide aid with whatever resources they had at their disposal. Like a well-oiled machine, all the dogs sprang into action, darting back and forth to gather equipment and assist their fallen comrades.

In a desperate bid for help, Observer pulled out her walkie-talkie and dialed Jack¡¯s frequency.
¡°Hamza is critically injured. Jack, we need you back at the central building immediately,¡± she pleaded into the device.
Meanwhile, Hamza was wrestling with his own thoughts. As everyone around him scrambled to provide aid, his mind was consumed by the system¡¯s description of the entity that had attacked him. His bloodshot eyes were wide open, straining to make sense of the chaos unfolding around him. The world was blurring at the edges, his senses gradually numbing. Yet, amidst this disarray, his thoughts were singularly focused on the terrifying figure that had assaulted him.
Only Jack stands a chance against this thing. We can¡¯t face it alone.
This thought echoed in his mind as he lay on a stretcher, hooked up to an array of futuristic medical equipment. His world was fading fast, but the desperation in his heart was more intense than ever.

As everyone was tending to both the wounded people a massive thug echoed as one of the crane fell that could be seen from the central bulling in the mining operation area. Everyone watched in horror. The desperation was now evident.
In the defensive lanes of the mining operation Jack was holding the line with his trusty katana in hand, Jack steeled his resolve and cut through the poring armada of the droids that charged. The droids overwhelmed him and tackled the steed he was riding and killing it. Their mechanical legs thudded against the ground, closing the distance with alarming speed. Jack lunged forward, meeting their onslaught with precision and grace.
The clash of steel against metal rang through the air, each strike a symphony of might and skill. Jack''s katana danced and whirled, slicing through droid after droid. Their limbs and parts scattered like the metallic rain of a fierce storm, but they continued to advance, undeterred.
Ching-clank
As the droids charged toward him with their relentless assault, Jack swiftly assessed his surroundings. He noticed the intricate network of tunnels and passageways that comprised the mining operation, each lined with potential traps. In the dimly lit cavern, Jack formulated a strategic plan to turn the tide of the battle.
With the droids closing in, Jack sprinted through the narrow tunnels, expertly leading them into a carefully laid trap. He lured them into a section of the mine rigged with tripwires and pressure-sensitive plates. As the droids activated the traps, concealed mechanisms sprang into action.
Large boulders suspended from the ceiling were released, crashing down upon the unsuspecting droids. The ground beneath them gave way, sending a group of droids tumbling into a deep pit. Jack''s movements were precise, ensuring the droids met their demise at the hands of their own activated traps.
Taking advantage of the chaos, Jack redirected the remaining droids into a narrow corridor. He triggered a mechanism that closed off their escape route, effectively trapping them in a confined space. Jack then unleashed a barrage of strikes with his katana, taking down the trapped droids one by one in the confined space, leaving no room for their counterattack.
Emphasizing agility and quick thinking, Jack continued to utilize the environment to his advantage. He led another group of droids into an area where a hidden explosive had been strategically placed. A detonation triggered a powerful blast that sent droids flying in all directions, scattering their metallic forms across the mining operation.
In the midst of the chaos, Jack''s movements were a blur of agility and deadly precision. He spun and parried, delivering blows that dismantled the droids without any wasted movements. Yet, their numbers seemed endless, and the fight grew more intense with every passing moment.
The droids, powered by a relentless algorithm, pressed their attack. Their razor-sharp appendages clashed with Jack''s blade, creating sparks that illuminated the dark cavern. Jack''s muscles strained as he pushed his limits, the energy of battle coursing through his veins.
One particularly large droid, a leader of the mechanical swarm, stepped forward, its red eyes gleaming with malice. It swung a massive pincer, aiming to crush Jack. With a swift sidestep, Jack evaded the blow and retaliated, severing the pincer in a single, powerful stroke.
The tide of the battle began to turn as Jack''s relentless assault and strategic maneuvers decimated the droid horde. He fought with the strength of a hundred warriors, his spirit unyielding, and his resolve unwavering. The clang of metal on metal grew louder as the droids fell one by one, their once-formidable force reduced to a scattered collection of broken parts. With his torn of clothes and cuts all over his boy received by the droids striped from all the armor. Jack was still fighting with flair and intensity. Cutting and gutting every droid that tried to approach him with his magical sword. Oil spilled on him covering every inch of his body from the droid''s dismembered corpse.
Yet it didn¡¯t hinder his ability to cut everything in his path. With a resounding war Cry
¡°Who wants some¡± Jack screamed at the few left droids scattered on the battlefield along slide the endless corpses the droids. The few that survived stood in fear and ran away after Jack''s provocation.
In the end, Jack stood victorious amidst the wreckage of the droids. He sheathed his katana, its blade glistening with the remnants of battle, and surveyed the battlefield. His oiled walkie-talkie rang as he picked up it and hearing the dread news ran towards the central building.
Chapter 19: Gurina, One of the seven sins
In the midst of chaos and tension, a single figure was surrounded by everyone. The mining operation had been under siege, but all attention was now diverted to one individual teetering on the brink of death. Strapped to a bed with rusty yet functional equipment monitoring his condition, he lay in the central building. His chances of survival were slim, but the hope that this savior would awaken was enough to draw every dog in the area. They gathered around him, eyes closed in prayer, hoping for a miracle.
Hamza lay on the bed, his condition being closely monitored by three dogs who watched in awe. observer held Hamza¡¯s hand with a gentle grip, her eyes swollen with tears as she looked at Hamza¡¯s unconscious form. She was filled with dread.
¡®The Ultra pills should have worked. So why? Why doesn¡¯t he wake up?¡¯ she thought.
Connected to him, she could see the description of what Hamza had created with his ability. She knew that two pills should have been enough to heal him, yet he remained unconscious.
This is what hopelessness feels like. Not knowing what will happen. This is painful she thought.
Observer watched Hamza with a sense of despair, while the three dogs looked on in awe of his miraculous recovery. His critical wound had regenerated from scratch. His vitals stabilized within minutes, an astonishing feat considering he had been on death¡¯s door just moments ago with a gaping hole and destroyed organ in his stomach. The monocle-wearing dog looked at the woman and tried to calm her down, knowing full well that the most dangerous moment had likely passed.
¡°Please don¡¯t worry, lass. He has survived the worst. His unconscious state is due to shock, but he will be okay,¡± the dog said in a low voice. The observer nodded in response, her gaze fixed on Hamza.
¡°Who did this to you? The droids?¡± the dog asked, worry evident in his eyes.
¡°No, it was something with a dark, vile form. It attacked us out of the blue. We were holding our own in the siege until that thing nearly killed him. We had no choice but to run.¡±
The room fell silent at her words. The monocle-wearing dog asked urgently, ¡°Was it a form like Aku but smaller? With a dark mist?¡±
The observer was surprised that they could describe the creature she and Hamza had encountered. Her focus shifted to the monocle-wearing dog as she replied with a twitch of anger in her eyes, ¡°Yes!¡±
The room plunged into an eerie silence at her confirmation. Their heartbeats seemed to stop.
¡°We are doomed! It¡¯s one of the seve-¡± the monocle-wearing dog began to explain before several dogs abruptly ran for their lives from the central building, screaming in fear. The phrase ¡°one of the sins¡± echoed through the room as hope drained from their eyes.
The monocle-wearing dog shuddered as he continued, ¡°T-th-the Seven Sins of the world¡ The sons and daughters of Aku¡ All of them have this form of darkness. They have been ravaging the world for a millennium. This battle is over. No one can challenge them.¡±
His explanation, coupled with the reactions of others, made the observer waver.
This is far too different from the original events. Will he be able to overcome this? Or¡

She caressed Hamza¡¯s head as she pondered their fate.
Will we die here? What was your plan?
She observed Hamza, who lay still except for a twitching finger. His eyelids finally opened and blinked, adjusting to the light. His critical injury had completely healed with his awakening. The observer was filled with happiness, but it was short-lived as Hamza¡¯s first words were, ¡°Jack.¡±
Hamza bit his lips and his bloodshot eyes told a story of their own. As he coughed out more words, the observer just listened.
He must be loathing himself.
The observer looked at Hamza in silence. ¡°We need to escape from here with Jack. This is a suicide mission now¡¡± Hamza¡¯s low voice was drowned out by the screams and howls of the dogs that had just fled the building. Everyone¡¯s gaze turned towards the exit.
It found us.
Hamza stood up, his breath heavy but steady. He quickly dressed in his jacket and pants, gearing up with whatever he could find in the nick of time. The dogs present were in disarray. He strolled past them towards the exit doors, with the observer trailing behind him.
¡°Observer, listen closely,¡± he said, his voice firm. ¡°I don¡¯t care about anything right now except Jack. As soon as we see him, we are making a run for it using your portals.¡±
¡°We can¡¯t face that thing again. The Seven Sins¡ they are too much for even Jack.¡±
Observer nodded in agreement, her hand gripping her weapon tightly as they stepped out of the building in haste. A figure stood alone amidst the corpses of the dogs, its form blurred by the dark mist swirling around it. Its yellow eyes stared at them unblinkingly. Hamza and the observer were on guard as soon as they saw her. The observer glanced at her trembling hands.
¡°Amusing,¡± the figure spoke in a throaty voice with a feminine pitch. ¡°How did you escape without me noticing?¡± It approached them, but they backed away.
Hamza smiled, seeing that instead of attacking them on the spot, it seemed amused.
¡°Oh, you know,¡± he said casually. ¡°Magic trick. Abracadabra. Your vanishing trick was nice though. Would have killed me if you aimed at my heart though. Miss Gurina, one of the seventh spawn of sins.¡±
Provoking it might be stupid, but boring speeches would bore it too. It was a gamble, but he just needed to stall for time.
Its laughter echoed around the area at his words. The laughter slowly died out but another sound took over - the clanking of battle droids¡¯ limbs soon filled the area with their sounds.
¡°I like you,¡± she said after a moment of silence. ¡°It¡¯s been ages since I found amusement in hunting. Where is the samurai?¡±
¡°The feeling is mutual,¡± Hamza replied, his body tense with anticipation. ¡°Though it¡¯s unfair that you have an army of droids though. Wouldn¡¯t it be fun if you see us take them down and face you in a 2v1? The samurai is running late. He should be here any moment now.¡±
He only had a few hours until he reached the time limit of his ability.
¡°Hmm,¡± she said nonchalantly as she stood still amidst the swirling dark mist.
Both of them waited for her answer, ready for a confrontation.
¡°No. Instead, how about I give you a choice? Let the droids kill all those in that building, or I end this right now?¡± Gurina¡¯s voice was cold and emotionless.
Before Hamza could answer, both he and observer were thrown back by a gust of wind. Gurina, who had been standing a hundred meters away, was now just a few feet from them. They quickly scrambled to their feet. Hamza¡¯s legs trembled, but he didn¡¯t falter.
¡°I smell fear¡± Gurina said, her voice echoing ominously in the silence.
¡°So what will it be? Your life or theirs? I want to hear you scream who should live, my sweetie,¡± Gurina said, her gaze shifting to the dogs watching from afar through the window of the central building.
Her arms morphed into delicate hands of a woman as she lifted Hamza¡¯s head, which was bowed down in moral dilemma. Looking at her with contempt, he furiously made his decision without hesitation. The observer could only watch with fear in her eyes. Her body wouldn¡¯t listen to her commands. She wanted to blast that thing away but her trembling hands did not move. Hamza made his decision swiftly so as not to anger the thing.
I¡¯m sorry
¡°I choose us!¡± He screamed out loud, his voice echoing with hopelessness. Gurina grabbed both of them by their throats and threw them behind her as she snapped her fingers. They skidded on the terrain a few meters away before managing to stand up.
The droids that had been silently watching from afar suddenly sprang into action, rushing past Hamza and the observer and into the building. The echoes of slaughter and screams filled the area as the droids spared no one and brutally chopped away anything in their path. A few dogs managed to escape the building but didn¡¯t make it far. Hamza didn¡¯t dare to look as he knew there was nothing he could do.
A voice made him look towards its source. The monocle dog was crawling towards him, half of his lower body cleaved off cleanly. He repeated the same words over and over again.
¡°Run lad, escape,¡± he said before being squashed like a bug by Gurina who giggled in amusement.
¡°They always have such interesting faces in near death. Ahahaha,¡± Gurina laughed out loud as Hamza watched in horror. The words made him remember his past - a burning memory of a boy who said the same words as his surroundings were engulfed in flames. He fell to the ground as a panic attack seized him. All sounds dulled as he could hear nothing but his own heartbeat getting faster and faster. His vision blurred slightly.
A slap brought him back to reality.
¡°Snap out of it¡¡± A barely audible voice reached Hamza¡¯s ears - the familiar voice of Jack who was covered in black oil.
Jack looked at Gurina who was standing near the broken-down building laughing as it collapsed under the sheer weight of all the droids that had swarmed into it.
The rubble and debris created a dust cloud that covered the entire mining operation. The dust soon settled with a gust of wind clearing everything.
Gurina¡¯s laughter died out.
¡°The samurai is here. My master told me about you, samurai. I wonder if you are as formidable as I was told,¡± she said with a giggle her voice echoing ominously in the silence.
Chapter 20 : Despair of the sin
A deafening silence gripped the battlefield. The swarm of battle droids stood frozen, their cold eyes fixed on the last three standing. Jack stared down Gurina, unyielding. Hamza and Observer darted glances across the carnage, grappling with the suffocating stillness¡ªblood from the slaughtered dogs pooled at their feet, a crimson river soaking the ruined mining operation. Hamza¡¯s chest tightened, breathe shallow as if a blade pressed to his throat. The droids¡¯ scythe-like appendages, dripping with gore, hovered, awaiting orders.
He caught Observer¡¯s gaze¡ªher face locked in shock¡ªand took a steadying breath. His hand found hers, gripping tight until she jolted back to reality, clinging to him. His eyes flicked to Gurina, then to Jack, who returned a fleeting look.
Hey, system... You know what I''m thinking, right? If so then start making them.
A system message popped up as soon as he thought about it. ¡°Got you fam¡±
¡°Aw, I¡¯m feeling left out,¡± Gurina taunted, her voice cutting through the tension. ¡°Droids, gut the pests¡ªleave the samurai. My master¡¯s itching for his head.¡± Her form twisted, sprouting grotesque appendages, a monstrous hybrid of flesh and nightmare.
¡°Jack! Swallow it!¡± Hamza bellowed, his voice cutting through the chaos as he hurled a pill with haste. In the same motion, he slammed a smoke bomb against the cracked concrete. The little device popped on impact, erupting with a hiss and a thick, gray mist that billowed outward like a living thing. Within seconds, the haze swallowed them whole, a choking shroud that stung the eyes and muted the world. Fifty GP for that? Hell yeah, Hamza thought, grinning despite the madness¡ªa damn bargain.

Droids surged through the fog, their sleek metal forms glinting faintly as they slashed blindly. Sparks flew as scythe-like appendages cleaved through their own kind in a frenzied bid to reach Hamza and Observer. The air rang with the screech of steel on steel, a symphony of destruction underscored by the sharp tang of oil and scorched circuits.
Jack lunged for the pill, fingers brushing its smooth surface, but a tendril of dark mist¡ªGurina¡¯s mist¡ªshot out like a whip. It snared the pill mid-flight with eerie precision, curling around it like a serpent. ¡°You think I¡¯d miss that?¡± Gurina snarled, her voice a guttural rasp that scraped against the silence, raw and venomous. She stepped forward, her silhouette a jagged tear in the haze, and popped the pill between her teeth. The crunch echoed, deliberate and mocking, as she savored the bitter snap. Jack¡¯s jaw tightened, fury blazing in his hazel eyes. With a guttural yell, he swung his katana upward in a desperate, gleaming arc, the blade whistling through the air. but Gurina dissolved into the haze, her laughter echoing¡ªa sound like ice cracking over dark water.
As the smoke began to thin, drifting away in lazy tendrils, the droids stuttered to a halt. Their glowing optics scanned the scene, searching for bodies to confirm the kill. Instead, they found only their own¡ªhulking shells crumpled in heaps, oil pooling beneath them like black blood, their scythes dripping with the evidence of their confusion. A faint hum pulsed through the air, and one of the droids twitched its head upward. Above them, the atmosphere swirled, a ripple of energy tearing open into a jagged portal. It hung there, a gaping maw framed by crackling blue light, spitting faint sparks onto the wreckage below. A portal tore open with a vacuumous thoom, its edges crackling with unstable energy.
Hamza and Observer crouched at the precipice, their outlines sharp against the portal¡¯s pulsing violet light. Hamza¡¯s breath came in ragged gulps, sweat streaking through the grime on his face as he clutched his mangled shoulder¡ªa gash split his flesh from collarbone to elbow, raw and glistening. Blood sheeted down his arm, pattering onto the stone below like rain. ¡°Fuck¡ª!¡± he snarled, spitting a glob of crimson.
His eyes burned brighter than the portal¡¯s glare. ¡°Still breathing, ain¡¯t I?¡±Observer stood beside him, silent and unreadable, their cloak fluttering faintly in the otherworldly breeze. Below, the droids whirred, recalibrating, their optics locking onto them.
Hamza¡¯s gaze was locked on the swarm, his eyes narrowed as he silently tallied their numbers. Beside him, Observer traced the jagged gash on his shoulder¡ªa fresh wound from their narrow escape through the portal. Blood seeped through his torn sleeve, the metallic scent mingling with the electric hum of the rift above. Her neon eyes, glowing with circuit-like patterns, flicked downward to the droids. Cold malice simmered in her stare, sharp and unyielding.
Within seconds, the beetle-like droids snapped to attention. Their iridescent wings buzzed to life, a low, menacing drone that filled the air as they launched skyward. Dozens of them¡ªmaybe a hundred¡ªsurged toward the portal, their scythe-like appendages gleaming with lethal intent, slicing through the wind as they closed in on Hamza and Observer.
¡°You sure about this?¡± Hamza asked, his voice tight but steady, eyes darting to the dark mass of droids drawing nearer. ¡°There¡¯s more or less a hundred down there. You remember the plan, right? Line ¡®em up.¡± He shot a glance at Observer, his brow creasing with a mix of doubt and adrenaline.
She smirked, a flicker of a tense smile and amusement crossing her face. ¡°You still owe me that pet iguana, asshole,¡± she quipped, her tone dripping with defiance. Without another word, she leaped from the portal¡¯s edge, plummeting through the sky like a missile. The rush of air roared in her ears, tugging at her cloak as the droids adjusted their trajectory, their wings thrumming louder. The droids pivoted, scythes slashing upward to meet her fall¡ªbut Observer¡¯s fists were already clenched.
Observer¡¯s chest heaved as she drew a deep, shuddering breath. Rage and bloodlust churned within her, fueled by the memory of Hamza¡¯s pained grunt when the droids had slashed him earlier. Her body tensed mid-fall, muscles coiling as she channeled that fury into her core. With a snarl, she clenched her fist and threw a punch into the empty air.

The invisible force erupted from her strike, a ripple of raw telekinetic energy that slammed into the droids hurtling toward her with her even being near the droids. The front line crumpled instantly, flung backward like ragdolls, their metal shells screeching as the droids wrenched backward, slamming into the ground hard enough to crater concrete.. She threw another punch, then another, each blow unleashing a concussive wave that shattered the droids mid-flight. Shards of steel and sparking circuits rained down, littering the fractured ground. Dozens swarmed closer, relentless, but none could breach the devastating radius of her telekinetic fury.
The earth groaned under the onslaught. Cracks spider webbed outward, rubble trembling as she unleashed her final strike. Her fist stopped inches from a droid¡¯s twitching form, the blow never connecting¡ªbut the sheer force birthed a shockwave. It tore through the air with a deafening boom, pulverizing everything within ten meters. Droid husks buckled and burst, oil gushing like dark geysers, pooling in slick, glistening puddles.
Observer landed hard, her boots crunching into the debris-strewn ground, her breaths ragged and heavy. The air stank of burnt metal and ozone. She straightened, neon eyes blazing as they locked onto the twenty or so droids still twitching in the distance, their circuits flickering weakly. A low growl rumbled in her throat, her fists still clenched, as the battlefield settled into an eerie, oil-soaked silence.
¡°You worthless hunks of scrap!¡± Observer rasped, her chest heaving as she sucked in a ragged breath. Gritting her teeth, she clapped her hands with a sharp crack, the sound reverberating through the shattered landscape. An invisible force seized the remaining droids, wrenching them from their scattered positions. They jerked into a tight, trembling line mid-air, their beetle-like wings buzzing furiously as they squirmed like pinned insects. Sweat beaded on Observer¡¯s brow, her hands shaking with the strain of holding them aloft, muscles burning under the weight of her telekinetic grip.
¡°Now!¡± she screamed, her voice raw and splintered, desperation clawing at every syllable as her arms quivered. Several hundred meters away, Hamza crouched amidst the rubble of a collapsed building, clutching a weathered bow he¡¯d scavenged from the wreckage a spare a he made that was in bad shape. His left shoulder throbbed, blood soaking through his sleeve and dripping onto the cracked stone beneath him. He nocked a crimson jewel-tipped arrow, drawing the string back with a taut
twang
That sang through the air. Pain flared as he pulled harder, stretching the bow to its limit, his wounded arm screaming in protest. He squinted toward the chaos where Observer and Jack fought, the distant hum of droid wings and her piercing cry sharpening his focus.
I won¡¯t miss this time, he vowed silently, her life teetering in his trembling hands.
¡°Boom,¡±
He whispered, releasing the string. The arrow erupted with a sonic crack, tearing through the air like a thunderclap. A trail of furious winds spiraled in its wake, shredding debris and whipping dust into a frenzied storm. It streaked toward the droids in an instant, a crimson blur slicing through the first one¡¯s chest with a wet crunch, then the second, then the third¡ªcarving through their metal hides like butter. A chain of detonations erupting down the line. Fire engulfed the swarm, molten shrapnel raining down as the blast wave rolled outward, shaking the earth. Fire and shrapnel burst outward, the shockwave rattling the ground and hurling twisted remains skyward.
The blast¡¯s roar yanked Gurina¡¯s attention from her prey. Her carapace shuddered¡ªa twitch she couldn¡¯t control¡ªas if her exoskeleton rebelled against her.
Is this the strength of the samurai? she thought, her mind a swarm of dissonance. My strikes could sunder mountains¡ yet this flesh-bag still breathes? Something slithered beneath her chitin plates, like oil contaminated with grit, a cold, wrong sensation.
She had Jack pinned beneath her, their blades locked in a screeching clash¡ªhis katana trembling against her razor-sharp appendages. One of her scythe-arms spasmed, the movement jagged, off-rhythm. Jack seized the hesitation, heaving upward with a guttural roar. Gurina¡¯s compound eyes flickered, their usual precision blurred at the edges. A glitch? Weakness? Me? Impossible
Her mandibles clacked furiously, spraying acidic drool that hissed against Jack¡¯s armor. No. This is¡ interference. The thought slithered, unwelcome. Her body had never betrayed her before.
Not like this. Not ever.
Her cluster of eyes, glinting like polished obsidian, darted toward the fireball. As the smoke curled upward, she spotted them¡ªHamza and Observer, still alive, defiant amidst the chaos. Droid carcasses plummeted, clattering against the earth like broken toys, oil splattering in dark, glistening arcs. Gurina¡¯s grip on Jack froze, her blade locked against Jack¡¯s katana. Six insectoid eyes flickered toward the inferno. As ash settled over the battlefield. Her mandibles clicked, a sound like bones rattling in a tin can.
The troublemakers still breathed. I am done with playing games Gurina thought as it locked eyes on them.
¡°Worthless junk,¡± Gurina growled, her voice a guttural snarl that vibrated through the air. With a vicious swing of her scythe-like arm, she sent Jack hurtling toward a jagged slab of broken wall. He crashed into the concrete with a bone-rattling thud, the impact stealing his breath. Gasping, he staggered to his feet, dust clinging to his sweat-soaked skin. His eyes locked onto Gurina¡ªjust in time to see her vanish, her form dissolving into a blur of an afterimage of a shadow.
Jack¡¯s gaze swept the ruined landscape, landing on Observer. She knelt a dozen meters away, chest heaving, her neon eyes dim with exhaustion. Panic surged through him like wildfire.
Too late.
He bolted toward her, boots pounding the cracked earth, but dread clenched his gut as Gurina materialized behind her. The demon¡¯s elongated arm honed to a knife¡¯s edge, reared back for a wide, lethal arc.
¡°Take cover, Observer-san!¡± Jack¡¯s scream tore from his throat, raw and desperate. She was already moving, instinct driving her to roll aside as if death itself breathed down her neck. Gurina¡¯s strike missed its mark, the blade whistling through the air. It grazed Observer¡¯s hand, severing three fingers in a spray of blood. The force of the swing unleashed a shockwave of wind, a roaring gust that sliced through everything in its path¡ªrubble, twisted machinery, and the skeletal remains of buildings. Jack raised his katana to parry that swings shockwave, but the blast hurled him backward, his body skidding across the debris-strewn ground.
Hamza, crouched behind a shattered pillar, ducked just as the wave roared overhead. The sheer power shoved him off balance, his bow clattering from his grip as he tumbled into the dirt. Dust swirled thick and choking, settling slowly over the wreckage. Every structure in its path within the mining operation city lay in ruins, its towering structures cleaved like paper, collapsing in a cascade of broken steel and stone. The echo of that single slash lingered, a low, menacing rumble that seemed to shake the sky itself.
Jack hauled himself up, his wide eyes struggling to process the devastation¡ªone swing from that demon henchman had torn the world apart. Observer¡¯s piercing screams snapped him back to reality. Hamza was already sprinting toward her, teeth gritted, his face pale with horror. She clutched her mangled hand, blood soaking the ground in dark, glistening pools. Her severed fingers lay nearby, stark against the gray dust, as she pressed her wrist tight to stem the flow, her breaths ragged with pain.
How the hell is that thing still standing? hamzas mind raced as he rushed to her side. Jack scooped her up with frantic haste, her weight slumping against him, warm and trembling. With his katana gripped in one hand, he bolted for the nearest cover¡ªa crumbling wall a few paces away. Her anguished cries sharpened his senses, his heart hammering as he stole glances over his shoulder. Gurina didn¡¯t pursue. She stood frozen, her towering form eerily still.
Chapter 20 : Despair of the sin part 2
¡°What have you done to me, you filthy little runt?¡± Gurina¡¯s voice erupted, frantic and jagged, as she thrashed her scythe-arm wildly. She slammed it into the ground, the earth quaking with a dull boom, but her strikes lacked their usual precision. Her body faltered, sluggish and unsteady, as if weighed down by an unseen force. She sniffed the air, mandibles twitching, but no scent reached her. Rubbing her cluster of eyes with a trembling claw, she found only darkness¡ªher vision blurred, fading at the edges. The screams of her enemies, even her own furious roars, dissolved into a dead, suffocating silence. Something was wrong, slithering beneath her chitin like a poison she couldn¡¯t name, and for the first time, the demon staggered, betrayed by the shell she¡¯d always trusted.
No scent of blood. No sound of screams. Just¡ nothing.
Darkness. Her flesh melted and knitted itself back together in grotesque waves¡ªmuscles contorting into unstable mutations, carapace cracking only to seal with oily sinew. It wasn¡¯t healing. It was unraveling. Interference. Sabotage. The words hissed through its mind, cold and foreign. Gurina thrashed wildly, rage boiling as her body betrayed her¡ªa puppet with half its strings cut. Cancerous growths bulged along her limbs, then dissolved into sludge.
Hamza sprinted toward Jack and Observer, his boots kicking up dust as he tore off his shirt in one swift motion. He dropped to his knees beside her, wrapping the fabric tightly around her bleeding hand. Blood soaked through the makeshift bandage, warm and sticky against his fingers, but he pressed harder, desperate to slow the flow.
¡°You¡¯re going to be fine, Observer,¡± he murmured, his voice a faint, trembling whisper.
¡°It hurts like hell, I know, but you¡¯re tough¡ªstronger than I¡¯ll ever be.¡± His eyes locked onto hers, soft with concern, as he cradled her wounded arm. She writhed beneath his grip, her gasps drowning out his words, the pain too loud in her ears to hear his comfort.
Frustration gnawed at him. He fumbled in his pocket, pulling out three small pills that glinted faintly in the dim light. With gentle urgency, he pressed one into Observer¡¯s mouth, steadying her as she squirmed, her blood-slicked arm trembling in his hold. ¡°Swallow it,¡± he urged, his tone firm yet tender. Then he turned to Jack. ¡°You too, man¡ªeat it. We¡¯ve got maybe a minute before that thing snaps out of it. The pill I threw earlier? It was supposed to make her to weak and nearly kill it.¡± His gaze flicked toward Gurina, and his face darkened, a shadow of unease creeping into his frown.

Jack didn¡¯t hesitate. He popped the pill into his mouth, swallowing it dry as he listened. Observer, still dazed, managed to choke hers down too. ¡°Your sorcery¡¯s unreal, Hamza-san,¡± he said, dipping his head in a quick, respectful bow, though his voice carried a tremor of awe. His face betrayed him, though¡ªhis eyes widened, unsettled.
A minion with that kind of power? Then what of Aku
Within seconds, Jack felt a rush¡ªlike cool water flooding through his veins. The ache in his battered body faded, the cuts from the battle droids sealing shut with a faint tingle. He flexed his hand, marveling at the renewed strength. The thought shattered as vitality surged through him. He closed and reopened his fist, feeling the weight of his sword in its black sheath once more. But clarity brought a grim realization. ¡°No,¡± he said, his tone hard. ¡°We go for a killing blow once and run. This is not a fight¡ªit never was. That thing will butcher us when the pill¡¯s effects wear off.¡±
¡°I was going to say the same thing. We can try to strike it once but our first priority is escape. No questions¡±
Hamza nodded, his jaw tight as he glanced at Observer. She lay still now, the pill working its magic, but it¡¯d take thirty seconds to pull her back from the brink. He crouched besides her, his expression bleak, mind racing. ¡°We wait for her to recover,¡± he said, though doubt laced his words. His eyes darted to the portal flickering above, its blue light casting faint shadows over the wreckage.
Should we even try something this stupid? and just run for it?
The earth shook again, Gurina¡¯s distant roars a brutal reminder of the clock ticking down.

¡°We need to strike while we¡¯ve got the upper hand, Hamza-san,¡± Jack said, his voice low and urgent. His mind raced, replaying the fight.
I don¡¯t know if it will even work. That thing could¡¯ve vaporized us in a heartbeat. It was playing with its food before. One misplaced step, and they¡¯d be red confetti.
¡°One hit, that¡¯s it. You land it. I don¡¯t have the skill or the gear to even scratch it, let alone hurt it. Then we bolt¡ªno hesitation, not a damn second wasted.¡± *This is suicide. Feels like I¡¯m marching straight to my own grave.*
Hamza grabbed Jack¡¯s hand, his grip iron-tight, though his fingers quivered. His eyes locked onto Jack¡¯s, wide and wavering, fear choking his words into stutters. Jack rested a steady hand on his shoulder, a quiet anchor against the storm of dread. Hamza swallowed hard, drawing courage from the touch.
¡°She¡¯s here too,¡± he said, voice firming up.
¡°I¡¯ve got to protect her. Jack, this is life or death. We try to kill it and run the second we¡¯re done with one try ¡ªgot it?¡±
Jack nodded sharply, his hand sliding to his sword¡¯s hilt. He drew it with a soft rasp, the blade glinting faintly in the light of the sun. Thirty seconds had ticked by.
Observer stirred, her strength flooding back as the pill¡¯s effects took hold. Her severed fingers had regrown, flesh knitting seamlessly, and she flexed her hand, testing the unfamiliar wholeness. She blinked, senses sharpening, and spotted Jack and Hamza pressed against the crumbling wall. Their tense silhouettes stood out against the chaos beyond. Her ears rang, a shrill whine fading as the world¡¯s sounds crashed in¡ªGurina¡¯s guttural roars and shrieks of agony as she tore through everything in her path. Observer¡¯s breath hitched, her body locking up, hands trembling like they¡¯d been lit with sparks.
Hamza flicked her forehead with a quick snap of his finger, jolting her back. He flashed a smirk, crooked but warm. ¡°You¡¯re high maintenance, you know that .¡± His gaze shifted, peeking around the wall¡¯s edge.
¡°Observer, open a portal¡ªthe farthest damn place you can manage. I don¡¯t care where, just away from this hellhole. We¡¯re will try to kill that thing but regardless of we succeed or not. We need an exit and will sprint here at full speed.¡±
She opened her mouth to protest, but he cut her off with a sharp look. ¡°No bullshit, or no pet iguana¡ªdeal?¡±
¡±We will survive this. Just trust me.¡±
A system message flared in his mind:
[That was smooth. Shitty timing, though. That thing¡¯s way too dangerous for your level. Keep your distance.] Hamza¡¯s smirk twitched, a mix of worry and mischief.
Wow, real shocker there. Thanks for the heads-up, huh? Useful when it counts, he thought, steeling himself.
¡°Let¡¯s move,¡± he said aloud, nodding to Jack. They split, darting to opposite sides of the ruined stretch. Observer¡¯s hands moved fast, conjuring a portal. The air warped and twisted, crackling with energy¡ªno soft white glow this time, just a jagged, unstable rift spitting faint sparks.
Forty seconds had passed, and the ground still trembled under Gurina¡¯s distant wrath.
