《The Suddenly Twins》 Meeting of the first murderer and death. "One, two... My eyes are on you." "Three, four... the knife in my throat." "Five, six... grip it for me." "Seven, eight... push it for me." "Nine, ten. Give me your soul." The boy suddenly woke up, and a pair of beautiful eyes were staring at him seductively. "Good morning, or should I say... good evening?" "AAH!" He instinctively pushed her away and crawled backward. "Wh-who are you?" the boy asked. He then used the back of his hand to wipe his sweat from his forehead, but suddenly got stunned when he saw his hand holding a knife. "Aaah!" He threw it immediately and looked at the girl with fear in his eyes. He asks, "Who''re you? Where am I?" as he glances left, right, and all around him. He attempted to inquire again when he didn''t hear back, and she only answered with a sobbing sound. "Hey," he hesitated first, but when she didn''t respond and remained still, he tried to approach her cautiously. His heart begins to beat more quickly. He raises his hand and tries to reach her shoulder. When his hand touches her skin, she suddenly grabs his wrist. She turned around, and he saw her bloodied neck. With hollow black eyes and hollow lips, she screamed, "AAAAAAAH!" and pinned him down. The girl''s strength was such that she held fast to the boy''s wrist despite his attempts to push her away. In a panic, he hit, kicked, and slapped her until he cried, "Leave me alone! Get away from me!" The girl pressed her face against his, refusing to move, and blood gushed from her neck to his hand as he strungled her with brute force. Breathless, he punched her bleeding neck one final time, all his might unleashed, opening the cut and gushing blood out. The girl pulled back, losing her hold. She shot him a bloody eye while holding her neck and experiencing excruciating pain. He used this chance to run away, but the girl hurriedly grabbed his feet. When she succeeded, she used both of her arms to push her body to hug his entire legs. This caused him to fall down again, and the girl crept toward him. She leaned her face toward his back and hugged him gently. "Fufu¡ªahahahaha" she suddenly laughed, "you''re really fun to tease". She hugged him tightly and bowed her face more toward his back. The boy couldn''t do anything; he felt that his heart would run away, abandoning him. Then he began to sob. "Please, let me go," and he was so terrified that he was unaware that he had already urinated in his trousers. She stopped embracing him, put her fingers to his lips, and muttered, "Shhhh," rotating his body to face her. Then she put her hands on the boy''s face, gently brushing her fingers over his cheeks one by one. The boy remained still; he sensed that his spirit was attempting to leave him as well as his heart. She then looks at him, and the boy looks back directly into her eyes. Yes, her beautiful eyes could stop anyone''s heart from adoring her very existence. The girl''s lips touch his cheek, and her tongue tastes his sweat and tears. The boy shivered; he couldn''t understand what was happening, and he felt another hot steam coming through his pants. He uncontrollably peed again. "Ah~" she suddenly moans, "what a cute boy." "Pl-ple, please don''t," he said, closing his eyes as his tears fell down again. "You don''t need to worry; I won''t eat you or hurt you. I promise you," she said as she licked his tears. She then got up and tried to give him a hand. The boy''s heart felt assurance when she said she wouldn''t hurt him; he unconsciously reached for her hand, and she assisted him to get on his feet. He tried his best to calm himself by rubbing his chest before he tried to ask again, "Who are you?" With love and curiosity, the girl''s eyes glistening in the moonlight as she fixed him with her gaze. Instead of responding, she said, "Isn''t this lovely?" With a smile that was both seductive and enticing. Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon. "Lovely?" The boy curiously asked, and a cold wind suddenly bloomed and touched both of their skins. He has now just realized that they are both in the field of flowers. He looked at the sky and was shocked when he saw four moons of different sizes and colors. "Where is this?" His anxiety grew more and more as his body shook from fear. She saunters and hugs him again tightly, "No fear, I''ll tell you what I know." "Then who are you?" She kept silent for a minute before answering, "Morana." He felt that he had heard her name before but couldn''t pinpoint where or when. "Silly boy, you don''t need to be confused." "And you... do you remember your name?" She asked as she abruptly turned to face him and chose a flower at random. When he tried to recall his own name, he felt as though he were losing his mind. "I don''t know." "Pfft, silly child, you''re Cain." "No, I''m sure that''s not my name." "Yes, it is and will never change." "Really?" "Yep." "Uhm, aaah... Oh¡ªkay? Then where are we, uhm, Morana?" "This is the meadow of death." "Am I dead?" She gently touched the boy''s cheeks again. "Silly child, of course not." She then smiled at him. "Look," she instructed, and a mirror suddenly appeared beside them. He then looked in the mirror, and what he saw was a boy and a girl with identically similar appearances. "Wha¡ª!" He''s surprised and couldn''t imagine that they are identical twins. "How?" The boy looked at her with doubt. "Ahahahaha, that''s how it is." "Listen here, silly boy; from now on, we''re twins." "Why?" "Because I said so." "Can I decline? "Hahahaha, silly boy, of course you can''t." She touched her lips to hide her laughter. "Cain," she suddenly hugged him again, "it''s okay if you don''t remember me." Confused, he asked why, but she only answered him with a gentle smile, as the wound around her neck continued to swell and bleed. The boy tried to help her when he realized that he was the one who gave her that flesh wound. She touches his hand to stop him. "You don''t need to worry." Her head suddenly cuts off and falls to the ground. ***** "Jess!" He suddenly woke up when he heard someone calling him. "Ma?" He answered back to his mother''s call, "Get down here breakfast is ready!" Jess looked at his clock, and it was already 4:30 a.m., but before he got up from his bed, he scratched his head when he felt that something was missing. He tosses it aside when he can''t remember and starts to fix his bed before going down and eating his breakfast. While eating, he started to recall something from his dream: a girl who looked like him. When her mother saw him, she guessed that there''s something wrong with his son, so she approached him and asked, "Is there a problem? Jess?" "Nothing Ma." "If you''re not feeling well, you can skip school today." "Ma, you don''t have to worry; I''m just recalling what I dreamed last night." "It seems you''re frightened; is your dream that scary?" She touched his hand. "You don''t need to worry, Jess; I''m your mother; you can count on me." She kissed his forehead, and that calmed him down. "Thanks Ma." But suddenly, while talking to his mom, a rift appeared on the left side, and this rift quickly ate his left eye vision. His eyes now saw two different locations at the same time. He got chilled sweat from his back and was afraid of what was happening. What he saw with his right eye was his mom and their dinner table, and with his left eye, an unidentified woman and an antique wood dining table. He made an effort to glance around, yet he was still able to perceive two distinct realities at once. "Cain/Jess?" Both of them touch his forehead at the same time and speak at the same time, "Are you okay? You''re sweating a lot." "I''m okay, Ma/Auntie; you don''t need to worry at all." "You sure?" Both of them simultaneously asked and picked something from the side; his mother picked a towel from the left, and the unknown auntie picked a face cloth from the right, and both of them wiped his sweat at the same time. "Stop, I''m not a kid anymore. I can wipe myself." He stops both of them and picks up the towel with his right hand and the face cloth with his left hand. He then continues wiping his own face. He got weirder and weirder from what''s happening to him, and he tried to ask himself that maybe there''s a connection between what''s happening right now and his previous dream last night. Even though this creeped him out, he decided that he''d invest most of his time researching and finding the answer. But the problem is how would he live his life if his vision like this? He sees from his right vision the modern world he currently lives in, and his left vision is the unknown reality of a medieval post-apocalyptic era. The worst part is that he feels queasy and like he''s about to throw up due to the altered reality he perceives. Cain Suddenly His mother told him, "Jess, you need to take a bath now or else you''ll be late to school," so he made an attempt to get up from his seat. When he got up, he felt so lightheaded that he reached for the table in case he fell. Currently, Jess is experiencing two different realities, and he finds it difficult to distinguish between them. He may be familiar with every detail of his home, but he is unfamiliar with another reality. There are three bathrooms in his parents house: the first one is on the first floor and is currently not available; the second bathroom is in his parents room; and the last one is near his room on the second floor. Jess approached the stairs slowly, and when he arrived, he grabbed the railing. Now the problem is with his left eye vision; the other reality has no stairs, and he is facing a wall. He doesn''t know what would happen if he walked up the stairs. Will his other body glitch into the wall? He got really excited to try it out, but before he could step, someone called him, "Cain!" He looked back and saw the auntie before, and he answered back, "Yes?" "What are you doing there, facing the wall?" She got worried, so she decided to approach him. "Are you okay?" She casually touched his forehead and neck to check if he had a fever or something. "I''m okay, you don''t need to worry," Cain said as he gently brushed her hands. "Are you sure?" Cain saw that her eyes were full of worries, so he unconsciously touched her cheeks. "You don''t need to worry; I''m just looking at something, auntie." He smiled at her, and she blushed. He was so cute that she decided to hug and kiss his forehead. "Auntie, stop, I''m not a child anymore." "What are you saying? You''re still five, so you''re still a child." She laughed lovingly as she patted his head and messed with his hair. "Wait, five?" Jess said, looking at his little hands. "So that''s why her melons look big¡ªI mean, her height." Cain''s aunt chuckled when she heard him talking about how big she is while clearing the table. He then looked again towards the stairs, still thinking about what would happen if he walked upstairs. "Jess, why are you still not taking a shower? Look at the time now; you''ll be late." Hearing his mother nagging, he decided to rush to take a bath. When his feet touch the first step of the stairs, his vision instantly fixes, and his left eye returns to normal. "Whew, I thought my body from the other reality would glitch out to the wall," he laughed while thinking of the possibilities. But when he reached the second floor, his vision got cloudy for a mere second, and he realized that he was facing a wall. "Hmmm? Why am I facing the wall again?" Cain asks himself. "Ah, maybe I''m watching these marching ants." His aunt call him and suddenly requested, "Cain, can you fetch me a bucket of water?" The little Cain nodded, "Okay!" and joyfully hopped and skipped outdoors in the direction of the well. Because he is still a little bit smaller and a little bit weaker than his sister for a five-year-old child, he utilizes the log that is already positioned next to it. Cain uses it as his stepping stone. He climbed at the log and pushed the bucket to fall inside the well. When he heard a splash sound, he immediately got down and pulled the rope so it didn''t fill the bucket with too much water, or else he couldn''t pull it up. When the bucket was now pulled out, he tightened the rope and used the log again to get the bucket. He then poured the contents into another bucket that he had prepared. He repeated this action until he got a bucket half full of water. He then delivered it to his aunt. If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. "Good work, little Cain; you did a great job." She patted his head and hugged him. "Hehehe, of course it is me! When I get bigger, I will help you," he proudly taps his chest. "Hahaha, of course when you get bigger, you''re going to marry me after all," his auntie joked and laughed heartedly, and the young Cain looked at her rejectedly and said, "No, I won''t!" He then broke into his aunt''s embrace and rushed towards the road where he saw the other children. "I''m going to play for now, auntie!" He waived his hand and moved along the road towards the other children. His auntie waved back, "Enjoy and be careful! Remember, don''t go and play towards the forest!" She reminded. "Yeeeees!" He continued to play until the afternoon, at which point the kids heard a horse approaching and ran to the side of the road to see it hauling a cart filled with goodies. One of the children screamed with excitement, "They''re here!" Everyone is waiting, and the cart stops at the center of the village. An old man gets down and starts to talk to the other villagers, telling them what he has this time. After a minute, a very young girl who''s five gets down the cart. She looks left and right to search for someone. "Morana!" she heard someone call her name, and when she looked in that direction, she saw a young boy happily waving his hand. She ran towards the boy and hugged him, and the boy hugged her in return. "How''s the capital?" His eyes glow as he asks her during her adventures. The girl touches his cheeks and smiles. She then uses her hand to sign to him that they need to go back to their house first to see their aunt, who''s waiting for her arrival. He agreed, and the twins both hold hands as they walk towards their house. Outside the house, they saw a woman drying meat. When she saw the twins, she immediately dropped everything and ran towards them, hugging the little girl. "At last, your home," she replied by hugging her back. The three of them entered the house, and their auntie prepared hot soup and hard bread for the afternoon meal. "You''re the best cook, auntie; all the dishes you make are very delicious!" He proudly said while dipping the hard bread into the soup before eating it. "Haha, bolero," she laughed as this young boy showers her with compliments. "It''s just a simple soup." "I''m telling the truth, though." The three of them had a hearty family talk for a while, and their auntie focused on Morana. "So, how''s your adventure? Do you enjoy it?" She asks while looking at the young girl with curiosity and excitement. The girl nods and reaches for something in her pocket; she then gives it to her auntie. "Bracelet?" Her eyes shone with joy as she received a gift¡ªnot just an ordinary gift but a very beautiful bracelet with small stones. "Thank you," she said as she put it towards her chest and appreciated her gift. Morana only waived her hand as if it were nothing and smiled at her. "Wow, auntie, it''s so beautiful!" His eyes went bright as the girl reached her pocket again and grabbed out another gift. It''s a very small ring that fits his pinky; its material and design are the same as the bracelet. He was overjoyed and said thank you while he put it on his left pinky. She then raised her left hand to let him know that she also got a pinky ring with the same materials and design. "Wow!" He then held her pinky finger with his and crossed it as a sign of promise that both of them would live and take care of each other. Their auntie watches them, and she uses her pinky to join them. That day, love and happiness radiated from their tiny home. At dusk, the twins share a bed, and their shadows dance in the flickering light of a candle. Cain looked at her and said, "You know, sis, something happened earlier." The girl looked at him with curiosity and then signed what happened. "I''m not sure. I just woke up facing the wall." She then used her hand sign again to ask him what happened after that. "Honestly, I forgot," he said, scratching his head and silently laughing. "Maybe I''m sleep walking? Hahaha." Morana ran her fingers around his cheek and told him by hand that he looked tired and needed to sleep. "I''m not tired; you''re the one who''s tired. You travel a long distance from the capital to here," he rebutted, but eventually he fell asleep immediately. Morana looked at his little brother''s sleeping face, then gently brushed his hair and kissed his forehead. She put her hand to her lips and put it down towards the back of her other hand as a sign of "goodnight." ***** "Mr. Salgado!" He suddenly woke up when his professor called his name. Everyone laughed at him when they saw that he had messy hair when he woke up. "Mr. Salgado, how''s your sleep?" His professor asked him, and he only replied by scratching the back of his head. "Class, if you''re that tired, just give me a heads-up; I''ll allow you to go to the clinic or sleep outside during class." The class went silent and all looked at Jess. He stood up and apologized, "Sorry, ma''am." "Good, are you awake now or do you still need to sleep? The door was open for you to leave." "No, ma''am, I''m awake now. Sorry again." Jess sits again, and he pinches his cheeks to get fully awake and focus his attention on the discussion. Jess It''s been a week since that incident happened. A rift appeared, and it caught my left vision. Am I okay? Of course, even though I got a severe headache during that time, seeing two different realities at the same time is no joke. It looks like you put your hand in the middle of your eyes and squinted. You feel like your eyes are cross-eyes, seeing different directions. But after that incident, it never happened again. I know for sure that my body wishes to feel that kind of excitement every now and then. Living in a modern world without a world crisis bored me; even I don''t want to admit it. Classes are dull, teachers are dull, classmates are dull, and even my friends look dull now. I know that the accident affected my body and thoughts, and I wish this ended now. For a fantasy fanatic who wants to travel to another world, it doesn''t matter if you get stabbed in the back. Being a hero by saving someone and getting shot at gunpoint, or being even blown by a truck, just to wish you got reincarnated or transmigrated to another magical world. Ugh, life with magic, seeing magical beasts, and being surrounded by many beautiful and cute girls¡ªa life of simple heroes. Admit it, that''s what we wished for. It''s been thirty minutes since I finished my writing exam, so I''m currently dozing off to pass time. I just want to enjoy my "me time," though, but for some reason the girl at the back keeps on poking my back with her pen. It irritates me, so I turn my head and eye her. I want to look mean at her, but my personality can''t, so I ask what she wants from me. This girl smiled at me in response, then asked me if I''d be free after school. I ask her why. She had club activities later, right? She replied by giving me cute eyes, like a puppy or a cat that wants to get petted for awhile. If I just didn''t consider her a friend, then I''d ignore her existence for eternity. Well, I agree. After thinking and considering her request for a minute, I remember wanting to share something with the pig. She raised her brows and said, "Only him? Not me?" Ah, what a pain in the butt. I didn''t say it to her, though. When 4:30 p.m. hits the clock, the class is over, so all of the students are free to go with club activities, loitering, or just straight home. But me, Pig, and that annoying girl went to our usual loitering spot. "Have you watched the new anime that was released the other day?" he asked me while chowing down some snacks that we brought. Did I watch anything? Of course not. I''m too busy reviewing for the exam. Well, the pig understands that I''m a goody two shoes and straight A+ student. "Jess, oh my lovely Jess. You always review for the exam, but your scores are so-so." Now I remember the reason why I don''t like her. "I remember our last exam; your score was 60/100, and the rest are barely hanging to the thread of a passing score, hahaha." Other than mockery skills, her uncontrollable laugh annoys me the most. "Hey, stop, don''t tease him like that." The pig tried to protect my honor as a self-proclaimed goody two shoes student, but it will be much better if he stops eating all of our snacks. "So, Jess, what do you want to tell me?" and now we''re back on the right track. The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. I told them the stuff that happened a week ago: the rift appeared in my left vision; the other world that I was seeing at that time; and I also tried to tell them about my previous dream, but somehow I couldn''t remember. "You awoke your hidden ability? How?" Pig shook my shoulder to tell him more. It would be much better if he didn''t talk while his mouth was full; most of the unwanted things inside his mouth fell out. "Ayt, both of you watch too much anime; that''s no good," she rebutted. I forgot to introduce my friends here. The guy in front of us is my friend A, and the girl beside me was supposed to be my enemy A but converted to friend B. This guy''s name is Matthias Heard, or "Pig" for short. He loves to eat different kinds of foods, and I remember he wants to be a gourmet. Well, even though he eats a lot, he is skinny and never gains weight, which is why most girls envy him. The other one is Mary Cruz; I call her sometimes "Bloody Mary". "Hey, forget about that anime world thing. You''re free this Saturday, right? I want a date. No, date me!" I cocked my head as she suddenly invited me. I''m free this coming Saturday, but I only tell her that I''ll think about it. She puffs her cheeks and says, "Boo wooh, meanie, but I still like you." She''s always like this, and it''s creeping me out. "Ah! I need to go; I still have club activities. Gotta go now, boyfie, mwah!" She tried to give me a kiss, but I used my palm strike to stop her attempt. She got annoyed but still accepted her defeat. She then walked away, but before that, she used her last attack by sending me a flying kiss, and I gracefully dodged it. Pig happily watched our antics. "You should date her," he suggested, then continued to stuff his mouth with chips. Well, as for her appearance, she''s cute and has a slender body; you can totally see her curve even with school uniforms. "Have you heard that she rejected the upperclassmen yesterday?" I grab the chips from his hand and eat everything that remains inside. Confessing with that girl is a nightmare, I think. "You''re weird, man. One of the beauties from our school likes you, and you ignore her?" He got another bag of chips, but before he opened it, I snatched it and grabbed the first bite. Listen here, I''m neither cute nor handsome; a guy like me has no redeeming qualities, and that''s why it''s kind of weird. We continued to talk just to pass time, and once again, I retold him everything and how I wished to experience that world again. But somehow, it never happened. Pig looks at me with amusement. "You know, man, instead of seeing both realities, it''s much better to get sent to that world, right?" I contemplate, and he''s actually right; it''s so much better if I get sent there with my body or just straight reincarnation. "I need to go, man. I still have work to do in our club." Pig waived his hand while walking away and said goodbye. But before he could leave, I sensed something weird, and as I thought, a rift appeared in my left vision again. It gave me an intense headache, though I look down as I rub my eyes. And not for long, on my left eye, I see myself sitting on a grassy land while on a concrete floor on my right eye. Pig noticed something, so he tried to approach but stopped when he saw me raise my left hand. It looks like I''m stopping him from approaching me, but that''s not it. I''m trying to reach someone. In my right vision, I''m clearly looking at Pig, but in my left vision, I''m seeing a man within his forty. "Cain/Jess?" Both of them clearly said my name, but the tone was different. Pig called me out of concern as he saw me writhing in pain, while the old man clearly stated something else. My left-eye vision was clear now, and I saw a man in the dark, and only the light from the four moons illuminated his body, which was clearly painted red. Wait red? Why is his body full of red paint? And his expression looks like he is terrified and angry at something. Is his anger directed at me? Why? And why is he holding a machete? "Cain/Jess!" the man shouted with anger as he tried to run towards me and cleave his machete with all his might. I shriek as terror eats my whole body, but before his machete can land, his head is sent flying. Blood spurts from his body, but that''s not the most terrifying, my friend... As the man got beheaded by someone, Matthias head also flew and rolled to the ground. Yes... Just like that man''s head. Behind the man''s back, a little girl, who looked five years old and was holding a machete, smiled and sauntered towards me. The Jess in me felt the horror that she brought as my heart pumped wildly, but the other me felt relieved and joyous as I saw my sister save me. I unconsciously tried to look at the severe head but stopped as she held my chin. "Look at me," she said with a creepy smile, then closed her lips to my ears and whispered, "Let''s have some fun, my Cain," as she giggled. First village. 6 days before the accident. "Catch!" one of the boys shouted as they played the ball game. "Here! Here! Im free!" Cain waived both of his arms, signaling the boy to pass him the ball. The boy saw that one of his teammates had a free hand, so he decided to throw the ball toward him. He throws the ball with full force because he doesn''t want the enemy team to catch it. Cain was delighted when he saw the ball go to him; he was already in his position to catch it, but another kid from nowhere appeared before him and caught the ball. The other kids cheered him on, saying, "Nice catch!" The kid smiled at them, then threw the ball to his other teammates while ignoring Cain. "Hey! What''s your deal?" he asked the boy angrily. "I''m the one who supposedly caught it!" He started to tantrum and pick up a rock, intending to throw it, but stopped when he realized that no one was paying attention to him. His face went red, and he started to cry but held back instead. He doesn''t want to play anymore, so he walks angrily back home. His aunt saw him crying while walking home and got concerned, so she rushed outside the house and walked toward Cain. "Are you okay? Why do you get home early?" She looked at him with concern and wiped his tears while patting his head. Cain looked at her and said, "I hate them." His aunt asked, "Who?" "The kids! They don''t want to play with me anymore and keep on ignoring me." He started to bowl his eyes out as he told his story. His aunt hugged him and said, "Don''t be sad; everything will be okay by tomorrow, I promise you." Night comes and both of them are eating their meal, and while the candle flame dance, Cain asks his aunt, "Tita, where''s my sister?" His aunt puts her fingertips to her chin. "Now that you mention it, I remember she said she''s going out again with the caravan." "Caravan?" Cain questioned. "Yeah, remember the caravan that arrived the other day?" Cain tried to remember, but he could only remember the arrival of the head villager''s son. "But isn''t the one who arrived the son of the head chief?" he then added, "the one who my sister accompanied to the capital?" His aunt ceases her eyebrows, heavily thinking, "Are you sure about that?" Cain looks at her, questioning her memories. "Aunt, are you okay? Is there something wrong?" His aunt suddenly stands up and puts the used plates away. "I''m okay; you don''t have to worry." ----- Around midnight, Cain felt that someone was walking towards the exit door, and when he looked, he saw that his aunt had worn her coat and gone outside. "Cain?" She sensed Cain was awake and watching her, so she decided before leaving to approach the young boy and instruct him. "Cain, why are you still awake?" she asked. "Uhm, I got up when I heard someone walking," he said as the boy looked at his aunt curiously. "I see, you need to get back to sleep now; your aunt needs to go and meet the chief." "Chief? Why?" She didn''t reply. Instead, she went to open the door and walk outside, but before that, she reminded him, "You''re a good boy, right? Just go back to sleep, and good for noticing that someone nearby; you''ll be a great adult when you grow up." And when the door closed, she silently added, "If you grew up, that is." She points her index finger at him, then raises her palm facing out, with her index and middle fingers sticking up like the letter ''V'' while her thumb is tucked at the base of the two extended fingers. Her two remaining fingers are curled in, touching her palm. Curiously to what she''s saying, Jess tried to ask, but before he could say anything, a severe headache and nausea attacked him, the reason he vomited again before passing out entirely. After vomiting, Cain appreciated her twin sister''s concern: "Thanks for asking if I''m okay; you don''t need to worry at all." He added, "I''m not quite sure what really happened, but my head hurts." Morana touched his cheek gently before asking him if he would come along, going back to the village. "I want to, but my legs couldn''t move right now. I''ll follow you back." Morana raised her right pointing finger and drew a question mark sign, asking him if he was sure. Cain replied with a smile, and after confirming, Morana walked back to the village while playing the machete by rotating her wrist, letting go of the blade handle, and letting it spin, then rotating her wrist again to catch the blade handle. She keeps on doing it while hopping and whistling. After several hours, Cain finally can stand up. "Aaaah, finally! I can move. I really don''t know why my legs feel weak suddenly." He looks at his surroundings. It is totally dark, and the only light he can have are the four bright moons, but unfortunately, the clouds hide them for a minute, so he stays still until the moons come out. When the moon came out, he saw the severed head of a man. He walked to it and grabbed the head. "This is what happened if you tried something bad." He looks at it, and before tossing it away, he uses both of his thumbs to gouge the man''s eyes and plays it for a while. Cain smiled at how squishy the eyeballs were, neither solid nor very soft. After playing for some time, he decided to move back towards the village and find her sister. He walked for almost thirty minutes and saw smoke coming out of the village. When he entered, he saw a lot of bodies that mutated; some of the kids were pinned down, and one of them moved and begged for his help. He answered it with a smile while patting his head, then walked away casually. He then arrived at their house, and before he entered, he called for their aunt, "Tita? Are you there?" He opened the door, and what he saw was his aunt''s severe head inside the table plate, and her sister continued stabbing her dead body. "Morana?" He saunters towards her sister. When she realized that her cute brother was here, she stopped playing. "What are you doing to Tita?" he asked. Morana replied by hugging his twin brother tightly with her hands full of blood, patting his head, then caressing his cheeks gently, leaving a trail of blood on his face. She held his hand afterwards and raised her other hand; she raised her two fingers and pointed at the door repeatedly. Cain understood that they needed to go and leave everything behind. But before they can exit the door, Morana suddenly stops and rushes back towards the dead body of their aunt. She picked up the machete again, hacked her hand, and decapitated it. She then removed the bracelet she gave her last time. "Why do you need to chop her hands off if you''re just taking the bracelet?" He curiously asked his twin sister. She then replied by putting her right hand toward her head, then out with a fist, then raising her two fingers again, swiping the bridge of her nose, and bringing it down towards her non-dominant hand as she smiled. "Is it really enjoyable? Can I try?" Cain''s curiosity picks up; he wants to know what it feels like to stab a dead body. Morana crosses her arms with an X sign strongly against his idea, then she holds his hand and thugs her outside the house and leaves the village with no man. The Suddenly twins left a pile of dead bodies, and some of them couldn''t be recognized at all by the authorities. They still don''t know who or why this tragedy happened, but for now, the twins goal is to find a new settlement to stay in. The interrogation. "Hey there, young man," an officer says, entering the room. "So how''d you feel right now?" The man pulled the chair and sat in front of him. "I''m okay, I guess?" Jess answered while shaking because of the intense cold. "Are you cold? You''re shaking uncontrollably." Jess nodded while rubbing his hands. Even though the room doesn''t have air conditioning or an electric fan, he felt the temperature was low. The officer went outside for a while and, after several minutes, came back with a jacket, and at his back was his partner. "Here, lad, take this," he says, giving the jacket, and Jess puts it on. "How is it? Warm, right?" the officer laughed, and Jess smiled at him and said his thanks. "Anyway, lad, I''m officer Mark, and this is Jenny, my partner. You know why you''re here, right?" he introduces himself while officer Jenny puts down some snacks and hot chocolate for Jess. "Here, drink this first; there''s no need to be nervous," officer Jenny said with a calm voice, and this really helped Jess calm down. "Yes, sir, but I''m telling the truth. I didn''t kill Matthias." "We know, lad. We know." Officer Mark leans back into his chair to make Jess feel more comfortable before starting the real interrogation. "So your full name is Jess Salgado. Can you tell me what you''re doing before that accident happens?" Officer Mark looked at him with concern while Officer Jenny looked down, telling him that he didn''t need to worry and that she''d listen to whatever he said. "Right, me, Matthias, and Mary are inside this room; we were just discussing some stuff." Officer Mark nods gently. "So what kind of stuff are the three of you discussing?" Jess holds the hot chocolate to make his hands warm. "We''re discussing my dreams from last time and the weird stuff that happened to me during that day." Officer Jenny asked, "And this stuff is related to imaginative anime style? Right?" "Hmm, yeah, something like that, but that''s not it. I myself experience that weird stuff!" The two officers looked at each other before continuing, "Did something happen between you and Matthias? Before he died?" He then suddenly waived his hand towards Jess, indicating that he was not saying he was guilty of killing the kid. Jess shook his head. "Me and Pig are besties; we never hurt each other physically or mentally." The officers look at his expression and the way he talks right now, and they conclude that Jess wasn''t lying. This was strongly proven by his other classmates and teachers, especially Mary. "Jess, we believe in you. Do you know who did that to you, friend?" officer Mark continued. "You see, when we saw you in that room, your friend Matthias was already dead, and his... excuse me for saying this, but his severed head was next to yours." Even though the tone of this officer was calming, Jess felt an intense cold through out his body and cold sweat behind his back. This led to raising his heart rate faster, and he started to stutter as he remembered that exact time when Matthias and that unknown man''s head were sent flying at the same time. "The gi-girl..." he started to scratch his neck, and this means he was too uncomfortable with that statement. Officer Jenny tried to calm him down. "Look at me, Jess, your going to be okay.. alright? Trust us." Even though she said that Jess didn''t calm down and started to talk again, "the girl, sir, there''s a girl." "Girl?" Both officers looked at each other and said, "Tell me more about the girl." "A week ago, I had a dream, this weird dream that I kept on forgetting, but now I somewhat remember a little." He scratched the back of his head before continuing, "This girl has a knife in her hand. I don''t know if it''s a knife, a sword, or a katana, but it''s sharp, and she uses it to attack the man." Even though it''s confusing, both officers lean towards him, indicating to him that they''re curious and want to know what happened next. This makes Jess talk more about the incident and maybe eventually confess everything about the murder case. If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. "Okay, listen here carefully. I have the ability to perceive different worlds!" Jess unknowingly raised his voice, like he was excited to say he won some stuff in online games. "So Jess, your telling me... telling us that this fantasy of yours is the real reason for this murder?" officer Mark suddenly got serious. He felt that his tone had become serious, so Jess nodded his head repeatedly. "Jess, lad, this isn''t a joke. We don''t play games here." "I know what you''re asking me, but I''m telling the truth." Officer Mark slammed the table. "Jess, when we arrived at that crime scene, we saw you and your friend dead. We also asked everyone, and not all that... We checked the CCTV footage, and the only students that went inside are you, Matthias, and Mary! Nothing more, nothing less." Officer Mark changed his tone to make sure to pull Jess back to reality. "I''m serious, I''m not pulling any pranks here!" Officer Jenny intervened when she saw that both of these men were heating up and might start an argument. "Alright, Jess, it isn''t that we didn''t believe you. It''s like your story is a little different, more or less a little delusional." Jess tried to calm himself by inhaling and exhaling, and the officers let him calm down. "Listen, there''s something happening to me, even though I don''t know how or when it will happen." He drinks hot chocolate before continuing, "Every time it happens, there''s a rift or spatial space that appears from my left vision. And after that, it will swallow my left eye, and I''ll see a different perspective in a different body." Officer Jenny nods her head for him to continue his delusional story. "In my right eye perspective, I''m Jess, but in my left eye, I''m a kid." "And what''s the name of this kid?" She asked. Jess ceased his eyebrows and started to scratch the back of his head and tried to remember something, and this indicates to this officer that he isn''t lying but having a delusion disorder, which has bad sides. But officer Jenny continued to ride a long to his delusion, "Then, while inside of this boy, you see who killed your friend?" Jess finished drinking his hot chocolate first, and when he did, he suddenly gave out an ear-to-ear smile. This kind of smile strengthens their hypothesis. "Yeah, Suddenly," both of his cheeks started to twitch while smiling. "Suddenly what?" "That''s her name," he answered, "that''s what I remember. A five-year-old girl with long hair and full of blood stains." "Alright, lad, your telling us that the killer is just a mere five-year-old girl? If she''s the killer, how''d she kill your friend? Don''t tell me she teleported? And who would believe a five-year-old girl has the strength to decapitate someone''s head?" Officer Mark couldn''t handle it and started to question. Jess looked at him while smiling. "No, as I said before, there''s two of me: the boy in my left vision and me in my right vision." He sighed, then continued, "The one the girl killed is not my friend, but an unknown man. She used that blade to cut his head. But..." "But?" both officers asked. "But I didn''t understand... It seems like those dimensions are somewhat connected here, and whatever happened there also happened here in real time." Officer Mark closed his eyes. "Jess, we''re not here to listen to your delusional shits." "Officer..." Jess eyes turned teary while smirking, "If I truly killed my friend, and you found his dead body besides me..." Jess lean forward and look to the officer''s eyes directly, "Where is the murder weapon? You wouldn''t tell me that I use my own hand to cut his head cleanly... Right?" This time he gave them a very sinister smile. Both officers skins suddenly rose; they felt a dangerous vibe toward him. Officer Mark did his best to stop himself from punching Jess. "Alright, lad, we are not playing games. Well, you''re right, we couldn''t find any murder weapon." Before the officer could finish, Jess interrupted, "It''s happening again." His left vision suddenly saw an unknown ball of lightning. This ball looks like a particle of some sort and is sending waves after waves. And when the wave function collapses, it stops, and he can now clearly see that the ball is spinning downward rapidly. "Are you okay?" Officer Jenny walked to his side and started to rub his back for him to calm down. But when Officer Mark looked into his eyes, Jess''s left eye suddenly started to bleed nonstop, causing both officers to panic and call an ambulance immediately. Captured. A doctor entered the interrogation room and directly moved to Jess. He used his medical flash light to check if Jess was still conscious. While checking, Jess suddenly started to speak a foreign language that all of them couldn''t understand. Cain was experiencing the same situation. In the boy''s right eye, he saw a ball of light, and once it reached a stable speed, it looked like it was stopping spinning. But in reality, the ball of light spewed upward rapidly. A light flashed between their eyes; the light swayed left and right. A man appeared after the flash and asked with a gentle, hoarse sound, "Are you okay?" Both of them tried their best to focus on the voice, and once their vision was restored, they saw an ugly, groggy-looking man in the dark room from the left and a gentle-looking man with eyeglasses to his right. Both of them are holding a ball of light in their right hand. Both of them hold his chin at the same time and continue to sway the light from left to right, checking his eyes. "You''re Cain/Jess right?" He nodded, then smiled at the man in front of him. "It seems you''re conscious now, but we better check you more clearly to be safe." Both of them held his wrist at the same time and tried to check his pulse. "Good." Officer Mark asked the doctor if he was okay, and the doctor answered that he''d need to move to the hospital for a checkup. Both officers agreed, and before the doctor could leave the room, Jess suddenly sprang and kicked the doctor back. Both officers reacted quickly and moved to stop Jess from beating the doctor. They held his arms together, but Jess struggled and tried to break free, and when he did, he tried to attack the doctor again, but the doctor was quicker and had already run away. He screamed at the top of his lungs and eyed the two officers who tried to stop him. "Boy/Jess, you need to calm down." He tried to talk to him, but it seems he didn''t hear anything, and Jess attacked Officer Mark. Officer Mark put his guard up and blocked Jess''s amateur punches. And suddenly he couldn''t move; Jess felt his body was stiffening. When he looked back, he saw Officer Jenny bring out her teaser gun. "Magician," he said before he got knockout cold. "What the hell are you guys doin''?" asked the man wearing a blue robe. The other man inside the dark cell scratched his head and said, "We didn''t know this boy had masculine strength." "His just a mere five-year-old boy!" The man in the blue robe raised his voice angrily while looking at the man''s face in utter disbelief. He also didn''t understand why the other guy ran away after he got kicked a little. "Stupid! Why did the other man run away?" "I don''t know, sire," he answered while scratching his head, even though he already knew that the guy who ran away was a real coward in the first place. "Ugh, I wasted my lighting magic just to knock up this insolent boy." Irritated, he kicked Cain several times until he was satisfied, but before he left the cell, he spit at the boy and then said, "Disgusting beggar." "Tch tch, boy oh boy," the man said while shaking his head, "we''re here just to check the goods, but who knows that you got the strength of an adult?" The man thinks for a while, then the other guy who ran away first return and enters the cell. "Azzo! You, mother Garan! Why do you leave me behind? Erh?" He hit his head hard out of anger and disappointment. He holds his head and says, "I''m sorry, dude; you know that I don''t have balls." "Where bandits! Moron!" The guy glared at him regretfully once more. He shook his head once again and said, "I''m sorry, okay? It''s not that I want this job." He hit his head this time much harder and said, "We need to go; we have to report what happened here." There''s no light inside, and it was totally pitch black when Cain woke up. "Urgh, my nape hurts and even my side hurts; what did they do while I''m knockout cold?" He caressed the back of his neck while trying to navigate the cell bars. "What happened to my sister?" He looked down as his eyes went teary. "Please, I wish she''s okay." This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.***** Several days before, the twins were captured by bandits. "Hippity, hoppy hop!" Cain and Morana were playing stop and hop while they were traveling inside the dense forest to escape. "Sis, sis! When will we arrive in the next town?" He asked while he hopped to avoid a small stick on the ground. Morana takes her dominant hand, bends her fingers a little, and brings her hand beside her head, then turns it away. "Hmm, you don''t know, even though you always go outside the village?" She smiled with an apologetic look, then raised and closed her hand and gave it a little shake. Cain walks towards her, then holds her hand. "I know you don''t need to say sorry." With an apologetic expression, she signed by touching her dominant finger beside her nose, then twisting it a little before pointing it at him. "Nope, I''m not bored because you''re with me, so every minute is fun!" He giggled while he waived his hand to catch the falling leaves. She''s mute, so Morana unintentionally shook her shoulder as she laughed. When the night comes, the Suddenly twins luckily find a tree cave, and they use it as their temporary shelter for tonight. Morana tapped Cain''s shoulder. She raised her eyebrow, then made a C sign through her hand, then put it into her neck, down to her chest, and then pointed her finger toward him. "I''m not that hungry. Wait, are you hungry?" She raises her first two fingers and taps them with her thumb several times while shaking her head to say "no." "Hahaha, then we should go to sleep." Cain stretched his body while yawning before going to sleep, and Morana also did the same. ----- At midnight, the twins were soundly asleep, and even the hooting of owls couldn''t wake them up. The bushes outside were rustling, and a group of men wearing face masks emerged from those bushes. A man with a face scar lit his torch, then sauntered towards the tree cave while outside he checked on the twins. When he confirmed that the twins were still sleeping, he signaled his other companions and started to work. One of them removed a smoking pot besides the entrance; he then dug a hole and threw the contents inside. This is the drug they use to make the twins fall asleep. A man with red hair entered the tree cave. He then asked for a light so he could check the quality of the twins. He touched Cain first. "He looks five. His skin, even though he is a pleb, is smooth." The man holding a torch commented, "Maybe he''s an aristocrat?" "If it''s true, then we really hit a jackpot," he said, then touched Morana next. He grabbed her hair and lifted her head to see her more clearly. "They''re twins." The man holding the torch couldn''t stop his chuckle. "The eye of fortune is looking at us." "She''s beautiful, no. Both of them are beautiful; we can sell this boy to an aristocrat who likes young boys." "Like Duke Olga?" The man with red hair looked at him with disdain and said, "That shitty bastard, urgh, disgusting." "Well, he loves children, especially boys, hihihi. And after he used them¡ª" The man with red hair raised his hand for him to shut up. After that, he continued to check on Morana, and when he looked towards her neck, he saw a wound stitch. He then counts and balances the gold he will get by selling her in his head. "Shrimp thigh them up; make sure not so tight that could leave a mark." "Ay, ay, boss!" ***** Cain doesn''t know what to do. If he can only bust outside, then he''ll rescue his twin sister, but right now the thing he can only do is stay and wait. "A light?" A torchlight suddenly approached his cell, and a man with a bandana appeared. The man suddenly crouchs down to look at Cain directly. "You''re a lucky bastard," he says, then steps backward. A girl with the same face as him peeks into his cell. "Morana!" Cain shouts with excitement. "You''re okay, right? They didn''t do anything to you, right?" Morana looked at him, then smiled, and a man''s arm suddenly grabbed her shoulder. "Is this your twin brother?" He snorted. Morana nodded to his question, and the man looked at him. He thoroughly checked his face and skin, saying, "Not bad, it''s decided then." Cain looks at the man angrily; he wants to say something but gets stopped by Morana by putting her finger to her lips. The man laughed loudly and reverberated to the entire cell hall, "Well, young boy, I''m going to sell you to a very nice person. I promise you... You and your new owner will enjoy each other every night." "Thank your sister for this generous deal," he says, closing his lips towards her cheek and gently kissing her.
