《Neon Skies: a diary from another universe》 INVESTIGATIVE REPORTS IEASC REPORT Date: November 6, 1978 Subject: Explosion at the EAS Lab Detective: John Smith Summary: At 10:15 AM, an explosion occurred at the EAS Lab, a private research facility located in the town of Jeremy Hill. The blast caused extensive damage to the building and injured several employees and bystanders. The fire department arrived at the scene and extinguished the flames by 10:45 AM. The Investigative bureau of the EAS company was notified and dispatched a team of agents to investigate the incident. The initial examination of the site revealed that the explosion originated from the basement of the lab, where a high-security vault was located. The vault was breached and partially destroyed by the blast. Inside the vault, the agents found a diary lying on the floor, apparently intact and unaffected by the explosion. The diary was sealed in a plastic bag and taken to the IEASC headquarters for further analysis. The diary was examined by the IEASC''s linguistic experts, who determined that it was written in a mix of Japanese, Korean, and Chinese characters. End of Report. IEASC REPORT Date: December 15, 1978 Subject: Update on the diary from the EAS Lab Detective: John Smith Summary: After two weeks of intensive research, the IEASC has finally managed to crack the code of the diary found in the EAS Lab. The diary was written by an apparently worker from the EAS named ¨€¨€¨€¨€¨€¨€¨€.The diary contains personal notes from the writer, regular things like a love a story but at the end things changes, the writer seems like not from our world, or at least not from this timeline, also the diary contains deep details about certain scientific projects that are beyond our current technology capacities. Therefore, the diary is considered top secret and its content cannot be revealed to anyone outside the IEASC and the EAS board of directors. End of report. Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences. IEASC REPORT Date: December 31, 1978 Subject: Final update on the diary from the EAS Lab Detective: John Smith Summary: After a careful and thorough analysis, the IEASC has written several copies of the diary in English and has sent them to high-ranking members of the EAS company. The copies contain **all the contents** of the original diary, including the information that is sensitive and classified. The copies also include recommendations and suggestions on how to deal with the "Alternative" World inside the diary. The original diary and the code are still kept under strict supervision and protection by the IEASC. No one is allowed to access or view them without proper authorization and clearance. The IEASC will continue to monitor and investigate the situation and will report any new developments or findings. End of report. IEASC REPORT Date: January 18, 1979 Subject: New findings on the diary from the EAS Lab Detective: John Smith Summary: After a further analysis, the IEASC has discovered that the diary was made with incredibly resistant paper and the cover seems to be synthetic leather. The paper and the cover have been tested for their chemical and physical properties, and the results are astonishing. The paper is composed of a mixture of cellulose, graphene, and nanofibers, which give it a high tensile strength, a low thermal conductivity, and a high electrical resistance. The paper can withstand temperatures up to 1000¡ãC, pressures up to 100 MPa, and shocks up to 10 G. The paper is also waterproof, fireproof, and bulletproof. The cover is made of a synthetic material that mimics the texture and appearance of leather, but has a much higher durability and flexibility. The cover is also resistant to heat, water, and abrasion. The cover has a thin layer of metal embedded in it, which acts as a shield against electromagnetic waves and radiation. The IEASC suspects that the diary was designed to survive any possible attack or accident, and to protect the information inside it from being tampered with or destroyed. The FBI also wonders how the IEASC Lab obtained or created such advanced materials, and what other secrets he or she might have hidden in the diary. End of report. November 7th 2089 November 7th 2089 I will simply transcribe word for word what appeared today on the screens of our computers: "Next month, the board of direction of the Electronic Alternative of Science has announced the first managerial competition for employee classes P-001 and ST-900, all employees of these classes are asked to go to the headquarters at 12 o¡¯clock on December 8th 2089" Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators! November 10th 2089 November 10th 2089 I bought this diary from an antique shop in the ¡®Old City¡¯. It should have been made around 2056. Under the advice of some colleagues who I can hardly consider friends, I decided today to transcribe my thoughts for the ¡®future¡¯. My name is Gantan Kuro, I am 17 years old and I come from the city of Aokoji. I work as an employee in the EAS, also known as Electronic Alternative for Science. My job is to approve or reject electronic engineering projects that pass through our offices. I start working at 6 in the morning, then I have a break at 12 and finish working at 17. Now it¡¯s 17:57 and i am inside my apartment on the second floor of a residential complex in the suburbs of Aokoji. I have a cat named Patrick. The fact that I own a diary could prove dangerous as paper was banned with corporate decree n790 of 2078 and this would label me as a ¡®Relic¡¯. For you in the future who do not know what a ¡®Relic¡¯ is, a Relic is a person who rejects the technological progress of all Otopia and who would like to return to the state before the great war of 2043. It¡¯s been 3 years since I live alone, because my roommate Jae was arrested for illegal possession of EAS reserved material, it all happened overnight and I was shocked by the violence the security teams had towards Jae. After the event i never saw him again and then they kept in the interrogation apartments for 2 months before the security teams understood (through any types of torture) that I am loyal to Otopia, after a few weeks I met X, a girl, I met her in the museum of technological antiquities, I was looking at a painting depicting a kiss between 2 people covered by a veil (The ancients fantasy was amazing), she noticed the bruises left by the security teams and asked me if I was okay, I looked at her with a surprised face, you should know that in our times strangers hardly speak or hardly feel your presence but she did, she looked at me. And consequently I looked at her, she had a green band on the arm of her uniform symbol that she was part of the ecology section of the EAS, her face seemed very relaxed for the standards of the EAS employees, her black hair shone in the ancient environment of the museum. Anyway, to her question I answered ¡°yes¡± and I left. perhaps it was the biggest mistake of my life, since then she became X like a variable in mathematics and i never saw her, and from that day I walked holding my head high hoping to see her again in the future. One of my colleagues, Li Huan, had a nervous breakdown and fainted while working on his computer. He was acting weirdly in the last few weeks, he even didn''t showed during the monthly speech of our manager. He looked outside from this world. I was like the only one who showed a little interest for him and his behavior. But today suddenly, he collapsed on his desk and stopped breathing. everyone panicked and called for help. two of my co-workers tried to revive him while our office manager called the Company medics. Some of us were scared and worried. Li Huan was a normal guy and a perfect co-worker. He didn''t deserve this. But then, something strange happened. A group of men in black suits and sunglasses entered the office. They said they were from the EAS security teams so i hided my face with my hand acting shocked but then they had token Li Huan body and put him inside a black sack. They didn''t show any identification or explain anything. They just grabbed Li''s body and his Computer and left. After they left we had a sense of confusion but our Office Manager named Hu Xia calmed us down saying that our work cannot be spared for some medical issues. So we were back to work behind our boxes, some of us was crying or some really did not even cared for Li. I want to explain to some of you readers from the future what actually i do in my work: My role is to evaluate the projects that are sent to me by the main engineers and decide whether to approve them or reject them. My job is very important and delicate, because I have to make sure that the projects are compliant with the standards and specifications of the company and the clients. I also have to check the feasibility, functionality, quality, and safety of the devices. I have to use my knowledge, skills, and experience to make the best decisions. I work on my pc, where I have access to a software that allows me to view, analyze, and test the projects. I cannot communicate with my colleagues or ask for their opinions or suggestions. I have to deal with different types of projects, such as sensors, circuits, robots, cameras, etc. I find my job very interesting and challenging, because I always learn something new and I can contribute to the innovation and improvement of the products. However, my job is also very stressful and demanding, because I have to meet the deadlines and the expectations of the company and the clients. I have to be careful and responsible, because my decisions can have a big impact on the success or failure of the devices and the company, everyone in my office do the same but actually i am the best on this floor. The office is very very clean and have white metallic walls, inside a tinier office there is our Office Manager that i guess is my only friend, he is 19 and it''s quite young for his position inside the EAS. The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. November 16th 2089 19:34pm Our monetary system could look different from yours, we get paid with 1000 credits every month because we are regular employee, the more you are up in the EAS hierarchy more credits you get, with those credits you can buy houses or electronics tools while for food or water you need a special card that substract credits from your wage, my current wage with the card is 800 credits for month then if i pay the rent for my apartment i have 100 credits for myself and 200 credits just for buying food. I can barely afford to buy enough food to survive, and most of the food I eat is synthetic and unhealthy. I don''t remember the last time I had a fresh and natural meal. You see, food is very expensive and scarce in this State, especially for people like me who work for a low salary. The prices of food is decided by the board of rations of the EAS. The company control the food supply and distribution, so if the company is angry they can even decide to block the food distribution. Sometimes when i hear old people talk they say that back after the end of the 2042 war food was everywhere and everyone lived in great luxury, i guess they really miss those times.
