《Outbreak Day: Genesis》
Extraordinary Witch and the Lost Lamb
God does not exist, which proves that we will never be delivered from our sorrows.
If the idea of salvation exists, it would only be logical that tragedies would cease to be.
In the future, we will realize that even if we want to believe in it, the very concept of mercy is a lie in itself.
No one will be saved, such is the nature of the world.
I accepted a long time ago I was only a scapegoat for mockery. To satisfy their impure hearts, humans destroy what they build and take pleasure in inflicting harm to their own kind.
For example, at "Santa Maria", the establishment I frequent, a rather small school located in New York, I''ve been bullied ever since I started my first year here. Even so, no one has reached out to me when I was mocked and abused by what society would call peers.
To prove their superiority in this depraved world, these inferior beings that we are revel in a arbitrary hierarchy they made up to satisfy their sense of superiority. The weaker the mind the easier it is to be the target of both adult and people of the same age.As if it was the animal kingdom, the world is dominated by the law of the strongest. Ineptitude like no other. A complete and utter Ineptitude.
Just the other day, I came across a bunch of kids having fun stoning a poor helpless stray dog.
However, I do not pity those who attack the weak, after all, they have earned it. If only they fought back, they could confront all the sources of their misfortune.
They deserve it. I deserve it.
After all, I am weak.
As I headed to my classroom, I find myself thrown against one of the lockers, grasping for air.
A backhand caresses me, while I assume a defensive position.
I recognize this ritual to which I am accustomed. My attacker, the most popular girl in this school, Ellie, always had a grudge against me.
"Allison, how many times do I have to tell you? When I walk through this hallway, you kneel."
She says, clearly putting on my foot with hers.
Confused, I can only observe this poor specimen. It''s people like her who remind me why I hate mankind so much. Always pursuing useless ideas such as love, popularity and friendship.
"I don¡¯t know what you¡¯re talking about¡"
On edge, she couldn''t contain the joy of kicking brutally my stomach.
As she continued her assault, an audience started forming around us. As I thought, there was no chance of being saved in the first place.
They''ll keep watching as there is nothing to gain from interfering.
"Don¡¯t try to play smart, I know people like you. They think they''re better than me, but they always end up at my feet."
I wondered if she meant that litteraly. Did she think she was like an object of worship or something akin to this nature?
Yet another day when this narcissistic fool thought only of her own navel. I could only observe , as I stopped feeling anything when it came to her meddling aeons ago.
Those things people call emotions, I had lost them already.
"That look! Always that look! As if you were looking down on me! "
Over the three years I had already spent there and several incidents, I had developped what people call "dead eyes", for some reason, they got me in trouble with her often.
Enraged, she grabbed me by the hair and dragged me to the toilet. Blocking the door.
"That bitch will never change¡"
Was the only faint noise I could hear followed by footsteps getting further and further.
"Must have left."
Forced to stay in this place for what could be hours, I was about to make the most important decision of my life.
"I¡¯ve had enough."
I didn''t care anymore. I stopped caring. It would be a relief at this point.
Digging through my bag, I finally found the holy grail of deliverance.
"I won¡¯t have to put up with this stupid world anymore."
A feeling of excitement took over as the object¡¯s blade approached my neck, before it turned into fear.
The blade still dangerously close to my life, I could only lament my own weakness.
"In the end, I don¡¯t have the courage to take my own life."
"Um.... What are you doing?"
A little girl said, calling me out in the middle of the act, watching me with disdain. Her outfit was pretty ridiculous, wearing the school uniform with a coat and a witch hat for some reason.
"It¡¯s none of your business."
"Who turns their back on someone who tries to commit suicide?"
"I hate self righteous people like you, go care about someone who wants you to care."
"No! Not until you drop those scissors!"
I really hate people like her, always trying to reason with lost causes.
"Do me a favor and go home, kid."
"Hey, I¡¯m fifteen! Fifteen ! It¡¯s just my size, I can¡¯t do anything about it!"
How could you even be fifteen and be the size of a middle schooler ?
She sighed and pointed to the knife in my hands.
"Attraction."
The scissors twirled to land in her hands.
"Huh?"
Was it a trick ? How could she even do that ?
"Impressed, eh? I expect no less from a poor mortal. I allow you to be amazed before me, Heisenberg, witch EXTRAORDINAIRE!"
" A Witch?"
"In the flesh!"
I knew I was attracting bullies but I didn''t know I was attracting weirdos too.
Where did this one come from? Did she really think she was going to convince me with such a deception? I could tell she was lying.
"I used Ianua to get in there, moving those boxes would have taken too long."
"Ia-what-now?"
She looked at me with an accentuated surprise, as if I had said something extremely stupid.
"Ah right, lesser beings do not know teleportations spells"
This eccentric creature was clearly speaking gibberish and making stuff up. As if teleportation spells were a real thing.
"You''re clearly crazy."
Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road.
" People often said that to me, I wonder why."
On top of being weird, she was dense.
"Anyway, i''ll get you out of here and confiscate those scissors wether you like it or not"
"With your appearance, those sounds like empty threats."
She traced a circle in front of the locked door, tracing a line that seemed to cut space itself, leaving me speechless. The hole she made came with a full view of the corridors with the lockers.
"So, are you impressed?"
"Must be a sham ¡ "
"That¡¯s why I don¡¯t like people like you, we always have to convice you the supernatural is real. I''ll say it once again so it gets in your cranium, I am a bonafide witch."
"Who would believe stories of witchcraft ¡ "
"Ones that just saw someone open a portal to somewhere else."
As dumb as she seemed, she was making a good point.
"By the way, I¡¯m Lila,Lila Heisenberg, part-time witch."
What the hell even was a part time witch?
"Since when do witches work part-time? "
"Hey, I endanger my life so you people can''t know about weird creatures you wouldn''t be able to handle."
She made me sign to follow her, while readjusting her strange hat, a perfume of mystery accompanying her.
"In two days, a tragedy will come."
I had already met eccentric people, however it was the first time I stayed so close to one of them.
"Lalalala~"
I wondered how she was even able to find the strenght to hum a tune after throwing out an heavy hitter like that.
"Um, Lila, right? Where are you taking me?"
The smile she displayed at that time did not foretell anything worthwhile.
"At the occult research center"
Despite what she said, I was sure that I had never heard of such a place in this establishment.
"Mortals like you like to call it "a club". "
"So it¡¯s a club."
"Do you listen when people talk to you? How dare you compare my center to one of those cheap clubs?"
"Because it is."
"Lalalala, I hear nothing!"
Perhaps she was actually a child, resorting to the same tactics as them to win an argument.
"I''ll allow you to bask in our presence. We have an important meeting today."
The exact moment I set one foot in this room, a look of terror appeared on the other two people present.
It may have been my imagination, but I was sure I could also see a two-tailed cat.
One of the two individuals got up from his chair and stared straight at me, pointing at me with a strange stick. She looked sick to her stomach, turning white as soon as our eyes met.
"Lila, this person. She¡¯s dangerous."
"Personally, I think she is more dangerous to herself than others."
"If you say so, but all this evil karma emanating from her."
"Evil karma?"
To remain in the strangeness of this day, the members of this club strutted out nonsensical terms, of the kind of evil karma, while Lila handed me a mirror.
"You should take a look. I mean, if you want to see your funeral face."
"You little ¡ "
A feeling of disgust came to deprive me of my motor functions from the moment I interviewed this mirror. A jet black aura surrounding me in the reflection, my own face painted in dark observing me with a calculating smile .
"Your reflection disgusts you so much? "
Asked the girl wearing quilts, sitting at the corner of the room. Still not bothering to directly look at me.
"People like you who have negative thoughts accumulate an incredible amount of karma and release it into the air."
Lila continued, rubbing her nose with pride.
"I¡¯m not sure I¡¯m following you. Also, do you realize I still don¡¯t believe a word of what you¡¯re saying, hm ... What was it again? Lilo? "
"It¡¯s Lila! But I prefer mortals like you to worship me under the name of the incredible Heisenberg! "
The other two, as well as the strange cat, looked at her with exasperation. Letting me guess that it was not the first time that she released this line.
"I allow you to sing my praises if you wish."
She said, riding her big horses, her ego higher than the mountains of Alaska.
"Shut up! All I want is explanations! Cheap witch!"
"How dare you, Allison?"
From my recollection, I never gave my name to that person. WHere did she get it ?
"Um, Miss Lila, could we start?"
The girl with duvets called her to order.
"Have you ever heard of the Apocalypse as it is written , my dear Allison?"
As she began to preach, my irritation grew.
"Written?"
"The Bible, dear Allison. Do you they not know anything in this damn building?"
The other girl in the room gave her a violent blow at the base of her skull, recalling her to act in order.
"A little more serious, Miss Lila!"
After putting aside the pain, Lila or should I say the proclaimed extraordinary witch sat down. As she rubbed the base of her head, she pulled a crystal ball out of the drawer in front of her.
"Observe ."
I stared intensely at her crystal ball, wondering why I kept indulging these strange people. It was then that I was presented with the most horrible images I had ever seen.
In the crystallized world, I could recognize this city, covered with flames and charred corpses. Creatures with inexplicable forms dismembering and devouring civilians.
" ¡ "
Lila¡¯s tone changed drastically, adopting a much more serious tone of voice.
"Unfortunately, it¡¯s not your imagination. What¡¯s more, this horrible premonition is supposed to happen today."
Impossible, it was completely impossible for me to believe her. There was no chance that the atrocities she had shown me were real!
Exasperated, I ran away from their landmark, running aimlessly.
"That¡¯s why I hate mortals. We present them with proven facts and they will always flee from the truth."
As I ran away from that far-fetched place, I couldn¡¯t help but wonder if in the end, she was right...
Even if it were true, what did they hope to do to stop such acts?
A cold sensation stopped me in my run, taking control of my body, no longer able to feel my arms and legs, as if paralyzed by an unknown force.
It was then that a distant voice, in its echo, communicated these words to me:
"Only one messiah has the right to shape the world in his own way ..."
"Who are you? What is a messiah?"
The more I struggled, the more the strength of these invisible chains I could feel on me grew.
The voice continued:
"Through time I have been given many names. Our Father, Guardian Angel, God."
I had not dreamed, this strange voice had just declared itself divinity.
"Unfortunately, these insipid beings that are Man do not understand the order of things. In their pride, they forgot me. No matter how much they deny it, the world has only one destiny, chaos."
The more that voice spoke, the more it forced me to doubt its so-called divinity. A god would wish for chaos?
As if hearing my thoughts, the voice replied:
"Why do you doubt so much, when it is in accordance with what you also wish, my dearest Allison?"
" ¡ "
"I can see the darkest desires buried in mortal depths. I can see your dream. It seems to me a desire so tenacious that it makes me blush.
" ¡ "
"Allison, my child, you wish to destroy the human world. Isn''t that nothing but the truth ?"
"To wish it and to really want it are two different things. I wouldn¡¯t be better than them if I wanted them all to die."
The voice disappeared completely, giving way to a black aura , a huge giant eye fixing me right in the eyes, standing in the middle of the grotesque shape that the aura had taken.
"Too late. You are now an apostle of Apophis, your desires are mine."
Despite the fact that this heap of form had no mouth ,I could feel a smile of the most evil nature sketch in it slowly and surely.
As the feeling of paralysis disappeared, I found myself thrown towards the ground, lockers and corridors now surrounded by purple flames.
My glasses did not survive the fall, so I was forced to get rid of them.
A miracle ¡
My vision was completely perfect, it now contained no blur.
"Aaaah!"
I recognized this voice, it was Lila¡¯s colleague. The noise seemed to come from the room I had left.
As I said I was still running away, ignoring the cries of agony that I could hear resonate, an unidentifiable projectile passed two centimeters from me.
I turned around to find that the projectile in question was Lila, who had surprisingly survived such a throw.
"First, tehy doubt my abilities, now that?! It¡¯s starting to do piss me off."
The thirst for blood in her eyes was extremely intense.
"Oh, Allison. As you can see, I¡¯m a little busy, could you get out of here?"
Her childish tone had now become completely authoritarian.
"Your right eye ¡ "
She said, observing me with surprise
I had no idea what she was getting at, wondering if she was making a joke in a situation like that.
"It''s not a joke, you fool. Look."
She had just read my mind, again?
She created a mirror, visibly from nothing, to reflect my image.
In the reflection, I could see a strange cross symbol in my right eye, not to mention the fact that my eyes, naturally green blue, were now purple.
Karma and Ego
"My eyes sharpened with a new color, I observed my own mirror image casted by Lila .
Stuck in place, the chilling sound of a breath echoed in the corridor of the underworld.
Like a vulgar theater, this place previously filled with calm and so-called serenity was a spectacle of an unrefined butchery.
Shrouded in flames, the charred bodies of those I had trouble calling comrades in the past. One dying sound after another to grace my ears.
For despite this spectacle, I felt nothing.
I didn''t feel anything for these poor souls.
After all,they deserved it.
"Allison! In front of you!",said Lila taken aback.
The creature responsible for this chaos stood before me, as if waiting for it''s hour to strike.
A being composed entirely of fire, assuming an humanoid appearance .
"I wish I could have done something for this creature, but seems like it has no physical body."
The existence of this creature did not bother Lila in any way. As if they were occurrences in which she was accustomed to the likes of it daily .
- "Hm . I think this spell should do."
She crossed her arms in an x shape, the right arm above the left one.
As she prepared to cast her spell, a dark purple aura emanated from her fingers as the monster disappeared from our field of vision.
It was now near Lila.
"This thing''s quick", Lila said distraught.
Without hesitation for a moment, the bonfire struck it''s infernal drum on this junk witch.
"..."
Without giving her any time to react, the vile creature hit Lila with a powerful uppercut, aimed at her stomach, projecting her through the entire corridor, charring the center of her body. The blow so powerful, I could see Lila eyes turn to white.
Powerless, I could only look.
After all, in the end, why should I seek to fight against the inevitable.
In the end, we should let this creature destroy everything it sees. There is no reason to fight against destruction.
Destruction is in people nature, so it goes without saying that when it turns against us we should accept it.
After all, a mere human being has no value in this world.
In this sense, fighting the inevitable is the stupidest action.
"This isn''t true."
A voice echoed in my mind, cutting the incessant spiral of my thoughts.
In an instant, the room had turned black , presenting me with an empty space almost frozen in time .
Before me was my own reflection, judging me with my own eyes.
"Will you let this reality come to an end? Will you let this world you live in disappear forever? Be brought into eternal chaos and night ?"
Despite the fact that this reflection was trying to communicate with me, I couldn''t hear it''s voice.
"This world is an unjust farce. Despite the fact that we struggle there every day, we are never rewarded for all our efforts."
The voice became clearer and clearer, vomiting my own thoughts back at me.
"Living is so painful. Living is synonymous with sorrow, regret, bitterness and loss."
This whirlwind of negative emotions that were my thoughts played a dark joke on me, the same words that I said to myself everyday swaying from left to right in my psyche.
"But what you don¡¯t understand is that to live is to accept the same pain and bitterness that makes you suffer so much. Remember who you are , proclaims again loud and clear the former you."
I wondered what "I" meant by my older self. It had been a long time since I had forgotten concepts like joy and good cheerfulness.
Nothing had been the same since they¡
Everything is different, the sweet voice that reminded me not to be late when I woke up too late, the sweet sound of this mischievous animal ravishing my ears, the incessant sermons of my father to put me in my place.
Everything had disappeared .
I have nothing left.
The spiral could not stop , covering me with a cloak of hatred and remorse.
My own reflection, as if disappointed, clenched it''s fist in frustration.

"Fine! If you¡¯re willing to let people die because of you, so be it!"
My own image ran towards me and landed a powerful left hook right in the head, with a sour and distraught look.
I couldn¡¯t help but remember how energized I used to be from the way she moved. The way I moved...
A flash of light cut me off from this almost psychotic sensation to bring me back to the present situation, the creature still before me, however ¡
Despite the fact that I had come to my senses, the muscles of my body did not answer my call.
I felt that my consciousness was there but I wasn''t in control of my body.
"Well, let¡¯s take action."
Despite the fact that it was still my voice that came out of this body, I had no control over it. I was forced to observe from a bird''s eye view. As if an impostor had taken possession of my flesh.
The foreigner took a stance that seemed like they were holding a sword, alas there was nothing in their hand.
A milisecond later, bursting out of nowhere,a sword endowed with a most unique appearance graced her hands.
The golden guard of the blade was in the shape of a butterfly, the handle red like blood completing perfectly it''s perfect silver colour.
This strange blade which birthed out of nothing had a thin base for a disproportionately wide end.
I was certain that no normal human body could have the strength to support such weight, but it managed to keep it standing only with the strength of it''s hands.
As she brandished her weapon towards the creature that had caused all this distress, I could see Lila walking with difficulty towards "me", the burn inflicted on her stomach seemingly healed.
"( Is that an Alter Ego¡)"
"Karmic manifestation."
When the impostor pronounced those words, the blade between it''s hands became wrapped in a dark purple aura.
I could perceive what seemed like murmurs coming out of the blade, an incessant shower of words that only I could hear.
Then, in an instant movement, the fire that composed the creature no longer existed, as if it had been vaporized from existence itself.
Looking back at the impostor, I noticed the tip of the blade was now on the level of it''s feets. It looked like it used the blade in an instant.
" Blasting away a being made out of fire with wind. I see. You''re annoying but pretty smart Allison", Lila said, not bothered by what happened in the slightest.
As the cross vanished from my iris and the color of my eyes returned to normal, I could feel again the sensation of existing and living.
For the first time in my life, I was satisfied to be there in the flesh.
"I see, I see."
Lila said in an abnormally calm tone, given the situation.
"I thought you¡"
She sighed, clearly disappointed by my question.
"That¡¯s not going to kill me,clearly! I¡¯ve seen worse. This witch in front of you''s pretty ..."
This girl had immediately recovered from the beast, in view of the fact that her ego had taken no cost.
"Extraordinary, I know¡"
I couldn''t help but laugh at her stupid act.
" Allison..."
She had managed to bring me into her foolishness.
" I didn''t expect you were someone who could laugh."
She said, smiling out of nowhere.
" That''s reassuring."
Her tone which was all cheerful a few moments ago had immediately become more serious.
" We should go back to the clu...I mean research room."
"Not in the mood."
"What do you mean?"
"I don¡¯t know these guys. No matter what happens to them, I¡¯ll have peace of mind."
She seemed horrified by my comments, totally distraught by my disinterest in these people.
"Would it kill you to show a little more sympathy?"
Given her expression, I understood that it was a requirement on her part and not a request.
Who did she think she was, wanting to dictate my actions and my behavior as she sees fit.
"Lila, is that it? I don¡¯t even know you, you and your little gang met today. Do you think I care about other people when this school is in this state ?"
I could only point to the chaos and destruction caused by the flames.
She sighed, disappointed by my attitude before taking her breath.
"It¡¯s all your fault!"
How could she accuse me of being responsible for this horrible situation.
"How dare you insinuate that I caused all this!"
It had been years since I had raised my voice. She had forced me to scream.
Alas, my sudden rise of voice had no effect on Lila, observing me straight in the eyes.
"You are an apostle. My mother has already told me about these people. For thousands of years, a group of humans who made a pact with different deities set out to eradicate all traces of the existence of witches or similar creatures giving rise to bloody wars. These humans had the power to manipulate reality as they pleased. This group called themselves the apostles."
This story seemed far-fetched but it was not what interested me the most.
"Well, it may have happened accidentally because of me. Not intentionally."
She pointed a wooden stick out of nowhere at my face.
"Your explanation better be good or I can assure you it will be your last words."
Noticing how scary she had become right at this moment, I complied.
"A strange kind of eye that told me about an apostle¡¯s story, not sure what it means. Right after, he talked about granting a wish even without my consent because it was written in me or something like that. Strangely, all this chaos started right after."
Shocked, she dropped her stick.
"But that would mean that deep inside you, you want to ¡ I guess I shouldn¡¯t be surprised by that after our interaction this morning. What did that eye say to you?"
"Stories about being an apostle of Apophys or such foolishness."
Lila stood still, as if she had seen the most horrible scene after hearing what I had to say.
The drops of cold sweat dripping little by little on face, as her fear increased.
"Apophys?"
She shouted, visibly stunned, as her hands and lips trembled.
"It¡¯s much more serious than I thought ... I should contact my mother. If we don¡¯t seal this thing up fast enough, the chaos that is happening right now will be nothing compared to what it could do if it materialized completely in our world."
I still didn¡¯t understand why she was still struggling if it was so bad. If, as she said, this thing was a divinity, what could we do against it?
Expecting mortals to harm divine beings is impossible.
"There should be a temple fifty kilometers away the should help us settle this matter but first let¡¯s look for the others, they should be alive. We''ll need them on the way to there."
How could she be so sure? Unless she was as lucky as us and had strange abilities, there was no way these guys could survive the flames in the club room.
"Hm, it¡¯s true there was this strange cat with them now that I think about it."
I couldn¡¯t help but think out loud, because of the strangeness of a two-tailed cat.
"This cat has a name, it¡¯s Cath Sith. It¡¯s my cat."
It must be said that I was not at all surprised by this sudden revelation.
Before I realized it, a black band enveloped the lower half of my body, emprisoning my arms and legs.
The stick that was on the ground before disappeared.
"You¡¯re putting us in a bad spot, Allison. You should be more responsible for your actions and desires. That''s why you''re coming weither you like it or not."
She dragged me along all the way to the hall of her so-called club. A circle with strange inscriptions was now displayed on the door. I distinctly remembered it not being there before.
"It¡¯s a good thing my seal held. I¡¯ll knock just in case."
She knocked at the door, which earned her a "Who goes there?" from her comrades, who to my surprise were still alive inside.
"The great, the majestic, the magnificent, the one and only."
It was sure that her ego did not weigh the gravity of the situation.
"Miss Lila? Is that you?"
"How dare you ask me such stupid questions, Melessy? Don¡¯t you recognize the prestance and authority of my presence?"
A silence ensued.
"..."
"..."
" Only Miss Lila speak this outdated language. It is really you!"
I could almost see Lila¡¯s soul coming out of her body as soon as she heard the word "outdated". This Melessy girl had attacked where it hurt.
Defeated, Lila did not say a word while the door opened.
Egocentrism
I found myself delighted to know that this small group that I had gathered by chance had managed to survive this disaster. In the end, the seal I had placed on this door was much more effective than I ever thought.
However, if it had been my mother who had placed this seal, she probably could have created a much more effective and powerful seal, acting on the whole building. This seal creates a bubble invisible to the naked eye around the target, the outer surface nullifying attacks of a karmic nature and the interior neutralizing physical attacks.
As I was caught in my thoughts, Melessy rushed towards me, her face deformed by tears and snot.
"Mwiss Lila, I twought this wub bi for us!!!! (Miss Lila, I thought it would be over for us!)"
She had this annoying habit of being very easily frightened. An unfortunate habit that made me wonder every day why she wanted to join an occult research club, given her tendency to take the scarce for nothing. The other member, on the other hand, was lounging in this room without a care. This man always had a disconcerting attitude in extreme situations.
"Maybe you and your friends are picking the wrong time for emotional meetings. May I remind you that this building is going to burn and we will if we don¡¯t hurry."
Despite the fact that agreeing with Allison on anything was absolutely out of the question, I had no choice this time.
Indeed, she wasn''t wrong, when I took into account the fact that I can only hold this spell for a period of fifteen minutes, her opinion began to take it''s sense.
"In the end, your so-called prophecy came true. Why did it have to be right when the summer vacation was about to begin?"
He breathed a long sigh, slumped in his chair, and began going through the pages of a book he had just retrieved from the table. With this kind of attitude, he could only get on my nerves.
"How many times must I tell you, Marth! Be more serious in my humble abode!"
"Meow."
Cat Sith had just explained to me in his own way that we had better hurry in view of the five minutes we had left. Fortunately, someone had dedicated himself to being the voice of reason in our magnificent occult research room. Although this person was a cat ¡
"I want to go home. Even being eaten by fire would have been better than coming back here."
Expressed Allison, not concerned by her share of responsibility in this incident. I could even see her talking with the air in. I guess she was having a discussion with her "parallel".
Melessy approached me slowly, while observing Allison attentively, her eyes swinging between me and Allison, judging her with her gaze.
The door of the room began to tremble, as the heat of the room soared.
Without saying a single word, everyone nodded with a simple movement of the head that it was time to get out of here and leave pointless matters aside. Magic can make miracles, but it is not without defects, if a karmic energy of an even more negative nature comes into contact with it, my magic will dissipate. In the end, this is only a demonstration of the weakness of my will. Magic is only as strong as the will of the user, like a fuel only fueled by your desires.
The flames created from Allison¡¯s wish were extremely stronger than my spells. I could ward off any flames with any basic liquid-based spells my mom taught me, in theory, however, even then these flames would continue to exist. I could sense it just by feeling the karma they manifested, this fire was beyong logic and comprehension, even for a witch.
They are born of disaster and its manifestation. One cannot stop a disaster, one could only hope that it will cease to be.
Which means these flames ¡
"Will continue to exist until it burns all the people inside the building."
These flames were made to cause despair, so they will only stop when at least the fire of the will is extinguished in its victims.
As soon as I had reached my conclusion, I made a sign to everyone to follow me, as I created a portal fifty meters from here. I would have created a portal much further, alas, here lied the limits of my teleportation abilities. This innate spatial magic that I had inherited was practical in many situations but limited due to my lack of my knowledge as a witch who only started praticing months agos.
We all jumped head first into the hole create in space, taking advantage of our success if only to rest for a bit.
Suddenly we were presented with a heavy silence, as if even the wind itself had taken its breath away.
The others were not able to feel it fully but I could feel them, karmic energies of the same level as the fire that had burned our school grounds.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
This silence and this energy could only be synonymous with one thing, to stay here would be to sign our death warrant. But if this place was like this, what did become the rest of the world?
Concentrating my hearing, I could hear sounds of terror right to left, interspersed with the intense sound of flames.
I could see Allison¡¯s usually closed face, devoid of any traces of emotion, tinged with a whitish colour.
Similarly, the others were equally terrified.
"Look, Allison, this is the price of your wish."
I then pointed her to the pile of lifeless bodies that littered the road before our eyes. Some whose eyeballs no longer existed, others as if shredded by a wild and bloodthirsty beast. The floor painted with the red color of death.
If it was necessary to open her eyes that she followed a road that would only lead her to self destruction, it was the moment.
I remembered the circumstances in which we met. How could anyone resent the world so much? Blame themselves that much?
Apophys had chosen the perfect target for his misdeeds. After all, only total annihilation seeks a heart corrupted with black. A heart in prey to despair.
The desert landscape where the peaceful inhabitants of this city still lived yesterday served only to remind me of the cold reality.
Our cold nature. The refusal to accept one¡¯s heart, the refusal to forgive oneself, the refusal to accept the hand that would only offer warmth oh so comforting.
A reflection of my own weakness¡
If only I were not a shadow of myself, perhaps I could have saved her heart, like her soul. Saved more people.
Allison¡¯s very essence was black, a fact denoted by her lack of joy and laughter. If only¡
We did not have time to linger in front of this landscape that a child began to run towards us.
"Mom! Dad! They killed them!"
I could see what looked like a horde of flies behind him, a putrid smell accompanying the sinister rush.
Without hesitation, I took command.
"Melessy,it''s a demon."
I could smell the foul odour of such vile creature any day.
"A demon! Really!",Melessy said, completely terrorized.
For a person who was interested in demonology and exorcism, she decidedly took off quite quickly when confronted by the creatures of her dreams.
"Prepare your mantra!"
Despite shaking from head to toe, she nodded and pulled out a sheet of paper and a brush.
She marked "barrier" on the talisman, then threw salt into it and began to incant:
"A white dove tinged with black,
In your mercy, you grant him a last supper,
That¡¯s why you¡¯re inviting him to banquer prisoners."
I could see karmic energy coming out of the talisman and heading towards the insect horde.
However, my mother had warned me of the absurdity of the personality of the exorcists and their wacky and somewhat sadistic nature. I didn¡¯t really like what this so-called mantra implied. A notion that directly contradicted Melessy, which always made me wonder why she was one.
Not to mention the fact that I was always amazed by the fact that there were humans who were not hybrids like me capable of using karmic energy.
The energy generated by the talisman turned into steel bars and locked the flies.
Without devoting a single second to rest, the child continued to run in our direction.
"Help!" he kept shouting, raising his voice as high as he could.
If I wasn¡¯t helping someone in need, then I had no reason to call myself an extraordinary witch. It was then that a shiver ran through my entire body, like a dangerous embrace ready to take my breath away.
I was obviously not the only one affected, the others also nailed on the spot.
In my panic, I lightened the spell that allowed me to restrain Allison, freeing her from her shackles. She was the only one of us who had not changed her expression in any way despite the intense weight of the presence that we could all feel. As if it forced reality itself to recognize its existence, its immensity.
Before we knew it, the kid was flying in the air carried by mosquitoes.
"Aaaaaaah!!!"
"Cath Sith, catch him!"
Cath Sith nodded, crawling along the wall of a nearby building with her claws, running vertically.
"M¨¦l¨¦ssie, stop shaking a little and make yourself useful, create barriers around us."
Without ceasing to shake, she did:
"The swallow began a last journey into the Holy Land,
To atone for his sins not without mercy,
Alas, a fisherman is still a fisherman."
Immediately after her incantation, bars made of steel and manganese covered Melessy and Marth, leaving only Cath Sith, Allison and me without protection. A single metal bar remained under my feet, Melessy having anticipated my plan by herself.
At the same time, in a split second, Cath Sith grabbed the child from his mouth, forced back down in full speed to flee from these insects, opting for a large dive to join us downstairs.
Using the metal bar and the little energy I had left after opening a portal, I gave bouncing properties to the space under my feet, in order to propel us high so as to reach this horde of flies. Alas, even if I wanted to, I could not be the one to put an end to the existence of the demon responsible for this child¡¯s dread, for I would only have relatively five percent of karmic energy left after treating and manipulating so much space.
I could only leave it to Allison, releasing her from my grip as we reached the desired place. Determined that she would finish the job, I cried out:
"Switch with her, Allison!"
How surprised I was when I heard these cold words without any feeling coming out of her mouth when I asked:
"Look, Li... Lila. I don¡¯t see why I should save this kid.Besides that I can¡¯t change the possession of my body the way I want and even less why I should partner with you and help you in an absurd quest that you imposed on yourself."
The fall of my expectations was terrible, I who had thought that her heart was not yet so corrupt. But it was precisely in these kinds of situations that I had to remember my mother¡¯s words.
The flies gathered together to create a new entity, a creature with spider-like legs, a massive bust with a humanoid appearance and two globular eyes.
With my body devoid of energy, I began to feel the harmful effects that my birth in this world had brought, the consequences of the union between witch and human and the effect that emerges on the body when magic is used by a fundamentally human body. My body became stiff and I could not feel my weight as I headed down a deadly descent. But I couldn¡¯t leave Allison.
Despite everything she said, I could see it in her eyes, the twinkling of those who never want to bow down to fate.
Using my last strength, I drew closer to her and hugged her to her surprise.
"I know you won¡¯t believe me, but if you need help I¡¯ll always be there for you. Deep down, your heart is just sad and lonely, that¡¯s why you wanted to end it. But I will never let you end it as long as I breathe the same air."
My mother had a tendency to say that when the soul is bruised, the heart only needs to be healed. This may also be the case with Allison, a thought that crossed my mind as I fell head first to the ground, my last sight being her expression of disarray.
allocentrism into deep sky
Even though she was suprised that I asked, Lila nodded all the same, using the small amount of karmic energy she had left to grab the child and descend into the eye of the cyclone with them. Swiftly preventing the child from falling to his death.

The space around us had become black and white, our movements frozen in time, our minds eaten by the incomprehensible words that repeated themselves in our heads.
"This woman here, her true soul was not touched. Very interesting."
In a moment, a wall of fire separated us from the creature.
"P-prayer to Agni, p-urification of evil."
I couldn¡¯t believe my eyes, this wall of fire was created by Melissi, that feeble and fearful girl. It seemed to me that Lila had mentioned that she was an exorcist, something along those lines.
"I¡¯m sure we can kill him if we all work together", Lila said, panicked and profusely sweating.
"Why do I have to go through this ?"
The long-haired young man, another member of Lila¡¯s junk club, expressed, his attitude as relaxed as when I first encountered him.
In a moment, his eyes turned serious.
"Caith Sith, make it appear."
The two tailed cat threw up an axe, to my surprise and disgust. How the hell did it store that in the first place ? Considering it''s size, it shouldn''t have even been possible.
"It''s a good thing you don''t really eat it, otherwise my allergies would get the better of me."
Lila whispered to us, slowly walking backward into the fire Melissi created. I wondered what she was even thinking trying to go into these flames, however she got past the wall of fire unharmed.
"Alright, it''s unlikely we''ll able to kill it. Here''s the plan, while Marth and Allison distract it, Melissi will begin reciting an incantation meant to seal demons."
"How can we even serve as a distraction when it could bind our movements at any moment ?"
"It''s fine, I was able to move while under the negative space."
"Really, Allison ? Then, I''m sorry to ask this of you but could you occupy this creature for..."
She turned her head to Melissi, waiting for her to give the approximate time she would need to manifest a seal powerful enough to rid us of this creature.
"O-One hour..."
"Are you kidding me ?"
Lila shout, her confidence diminishing by the minutes, bringing down part of her hat into her forehead.
"S-Sorry, that demon has too much karmic energy, the seal will take a long time to be fully effective. I-It usually takes five minutes for small imps but considering it has twelve times the amount of energy of such small creatures I''m afraid there''s nothing I can do to reduce the time."
After some through consideration, Lila''s expression darkened as she bit her lower lip consumed by stress and anxiety.
"In that case... We should grab the kid and run..."
Seeing white corrupt Lila''s natural skin tone, my other self put her hands on her shoulders, her eyes filled with determination and certainty.
"It''s fine, Lila. Don''t be afraid, I''m right here with you."
Those words seemed to calm her down, even for a little bit. Strange, what is that soft and warm feel I''m sensing inside me right now ?
"Allison, wait!"
With those words, my other self expulsed itself from the tornado, directly facing the nightmare''s fly.
Her head proudly raised and sword''s tip on the ground, she held the weapon like a knight bound by honour, facing the creature as my blonde hair were balladed by the wind.
"Let''s have a duel, Beelzebuth."
I dared to say, pointing my sword once more at a being beyond human logic and comprehension. At the same time, Melissi came out of the tornado, her hands joined together.
"G-Good luck, Allison ! I-I''m sorry to ask this of you but you''re the only one we cant count on right now!"
Not wasting a single moment of it''s time and assessing the danger Melissi represented, the fly immediatly tried to use it''s time manipulation trick.
"[Nega Space]"
"I don''t think so."
Unfortunately for this creature, they were ready for it to use cheap tricks to hurt us, Marth landing a powerful hit on the creature left ribs, taking advantage of the small window it wasn''t focused on all of us to attack it. The fly heading headfirst into a nearby abandonned building.
Meanwhile, Lila, still in the eye of the cyclone, was trying her best to reassure the child.
"I wish I wasn''t so useless. This body is a curse, even when I want to help my friends I''m unable to do it efficiently."
Her eyes seemed distant for a moment.
"Miss, are we gonna die ?"
I couldn''t blame this child for asking such questions, trying to fight such a monster was akin to suicide after all. As I continued to observe, I could only be blinded by Lila''s radiant smile in response to the child''s question.
"Don''t worry, I believe in them. When my friends have their heart set on something, they always deliver."
Those words were empty to me, after all, when had we even become friends. From my perspective, she was only filling this kid''s head with delusions and refusing to make it face reality. After all, if hope and good feelings worked, his parents would have still been alive and the school wouldn''t have ended up like this
For as much as this other self represents my inner secret hope, the fact is it wasn''t enough to prevent my darkness from overtaking my desires and ruin the world.
As usual, I was proven right, as right before my eyes, the one named Marth''s body was assaulted by a million flies, the eyes of Melissi and my clone filled with horror. As they all screamed his name, the axe he so proudly held in his hand to strike the monster fell on the ground like a vulgar object that had no value whatsoever.
