《Pagis》 Issue #1-Chapter 1 Ever since I died, I was lost in the abyss, struggling to get out. I wondered where and how was I able to escape, but still failed to find it...until I was finally able to escape from the eighth day. The chirping birds interrupted my slumber. Lying near the lake, my hazy vision was readjusting while I sat up and examined my surroundings, rubbing my head. Trees and bushes were gazing at me everywhere. The sunlight radiated upon the world with thin clouds floating past it. The fresh, spring aroma surrounded me. Where am I? How did I get here? Was I reincarnated or somethin''? I remembered one stormy night when the lightning struck me near the rail, making me fall down into the sea. My hair and my clothes were charred. With no one to save me, I drowned into the deep, dark depths. When I combed my hair down, I was shocked to find out how long it was. Confused at first, I pulled it towards my face and saw that it was long, straight and blond. How strange. I didn''t recall having this kind of hair. I turned to the lake and it reflected my different appearance entirely like a mirror. I widened my big, innocent eyes when I saw myself wearing a low cut, European medieval dress, a gorgeous face with no glasses on it. My dress cramped me into a dress so tightly that I might''ve spilled it out, or even worse, my upper part of the shirt would''ve teared if I bended over too far. Realizing I probably was in a Medieval fantasy, I shivered and frowned at my reflection. My eyes were widened even more with my mouth open, placing my hand in front of my mouth. I couldn''t believe that I was reincarnated as an attractive woman, but having a pretty face wasn''t the only one that scared me a bit. My face blushed out of embarrassment when I looked down at my new dress as it made me appear like a slut, which was my worst nightmare. It scared me into thinking about men now having an opportunity to lust after me. Slapping the water, I slowly stood up from the ground while I held my upper part of the dress tightly to prevent the tear. I then scanned my surroundings, wondering where I was supposed to go. I struggled to decide while I crossed my arms to cover my chest in case I encountered a guy on the way. While I couldn''t wait to get a new dress, I thought about how I should get there. Not knowing where to go, it would be better for me to ask someone for directions, to hopefully not run into a man during my search. So I began walking around the woods out of caution, in case I spotted something suspicious. I found none so far. I moved my head sideways out while hunting for someone that would lead me to a town, definitely anywhere to get me out of this woods for that matter. After I took a couple of steps, I felt some dirt in between my toes. I stopped moving and looked down at my feet, finding out that they were barefooted. I sighed with my dejected face, after I saw some grass leaves and dirt on them. Oh, great. Not only do I have to find a new dress, I''ll also have to get myself some shoes. I stopped looking at my feet and kept searching. Gazing around the place during my search, even when I survived the forest, it brought a smile on my face since I liked to travel. This is the new world that I was reincarnated to. I wanted to know what kind of world this was, how many countries were there in this world, and what the culture was like. I was glad to travel with my parents by the passenger ship for the first time to the Caribbean before that storm. This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report. And once I find that town, I also wanted to find out what kind of language the people spoke there and probably read some books there. Even though I probably wouldn''t understand what they were saying, I would at least know what that language sounded like. But right now, all I needed to focus on was surviving this damn forest and finding another town as fast as I could. I couldn''t risk thinking about traveling and reading much longer. Yet the longer I searched, the more I struggled to find someone for directions. With pain dominating my feet, sweat slid down from my forehead while I searched for any resting place. After a while, I spotted a huge rock standing near the tree, grinning at it. I sighed as it was time for me to get a break. I headed my way towards the rock, sat on the ground and leaned on it, zoning out while watching the lake. My stomach''s growl immediately snapped me out of it and made me look down at it, touching it with both hands and a frown. I frowned and sighed at my stomach. I couldn''t believe I was hungry after being tired of all that walking. I slanted back on the rock and stared at the lake. My stomach would have to wait for a while. "Are you hungry there, young lady?" A mysterious woman''s voice asked in a cranky voice. "Huh?" I curiously turned to that voice. I placed my hand in front of my mouth, as I spoke in my vulnerable, little voice. Why I would sounded something that I''ve never sounded like in my old world was beyond me. It was all strange to me for a moment there. Now I wondered if she either spoke the same language as I did or I could outright understand her language. It would''ve been a cool if the latter was the case. Anyway, there it was an old woman walking towards me with her walking stick, that looked like a shepherd''s. The black smoke served as her cloak and her hood covered her eyes. While she walked towards me, I could barely smell the smoke around her. She pulled out one of the apples from the basket and handed it towards me. "Here, take it." I raised my eyebrow at her when I darted my eyes towards her face. Although I was happy to encounter a woman, this woman, though, was kind of giving me the old woman from Snow White vibes. I pondered if she was really doing it out of kindness from her own heart. I was reluctant to accept her offer, yet my stomach''s growl pressured me to accept it. "Go on, take it," the old woman said, "I''m not going to harm you." I looked up at her and the apple back and forth. I tried to reject the apple, but hunger forced me to take it. So I took a bite and tasted the apple''s sweetness, determining whether or not I would be dead in seconds. Luckily, I found out that I wasn''t harmed nor even dead so far, leading me to take another bite. The apple made me less wary of it and the old lady. The old woman smiled at me and watched me continue eating. "Yes, that''s it. I know you must be hungry, young lady. Keep eating." After I ate the apple, I threw it into the lake and heard a splash beside me. Changing my mind, I stood up from the ground and turned to her. "Thank you for the food, ma''am." "Oh, it''s my pleasure, young lady," the old woman said, nodding a bit. "So I''m stuck in this forest, I''m lookin'' for a town and I have no idea where it is. Do you know where I should find it?" "Oh, you poor, child." The old woman tsk-tsked me. "I think I know where it is." She turned around and pointed at a couple trees to her left. "Up there should be a road." "Uh-huh." "Once you head there, just go straight. You should be able to head to town." I raised my eyebrow at first. "That''s it? Jus'' head straight?" She turned back to me. "That''s right, just head straight once you walk towards those trees." I nodded and smiled. "Okay, thanks for your help!" "Why, you''re welcome," she said as I walked past her towards those trees with my arms still crossed. Alright! I''m headin'' goin'' to town! I''ll finally be able to get some new clothes for once! Once I made it there, I followed the path towards the town like that old woman said. When I left her presence, she smirked and chuckled viciously with the black smoke surrounding her. "He-he-he-he-he-heh." Issue #1-Chapter 2 While I continued to walk straight on the path, I smiled as if I couldn''t wait to arrive at the town. It was an amazing moment for me. I could see a lot of small buildings watching me from a bit far. The birds'' twittering continued to echo around me and my nose enjoyed that fresh air. The wind gusted my golden hair in front of my face, causing me to wipe it away from me. I couldn''t wait to arrive in town. Despite my feet hurting a bit, I continued to walk regardless. My excitement to get a new dress and some shoes continued to dominate my mind. Once I arrived there however, I panted and took a look around the town. A lot of these mud brick buildings were silent and curiously gazed at me, like they''d never seen me before. Strangely enough, there was no one around. No one at all. Not even a single person traveled through here as far as I could see. Only the birds tweeting and the wind flurrying vibrated my ears. The breeze helped me cool off my skin from the sun''s heat. My hand prevented my hair from getting into my face. This place was a complete ghost town. I raised my eyebrow when I failed to see people around. I began to wonder where everyone was. I was very certain that old lady told me to head straight once I made it to those trees back there. I studied my surroundings with a frown, hoping she wasn''t messing with me. Seeing no man around, that comforted me to uncross my arms and surround my hands around my mouth. So I decided to call people to see if they were either here or not. Besides, what could go wrong? "Hello? Is anyone there?" I shouted. Silence. Total silence. So I tried again, saying those same exact words. This time, I walked forward while turning my head sideways. Then I noticed something, something that was a bit embarrassing while I was walking. My breasts were not only jiggling a bit, but also my nipples poked through my shirt, leading me to wonder if I was wearing a bra or not. I stopped moving and inserted my hand inside my shirt and found no bra inside. My face blushed when I looked down at my chest. You can''t be serious! I''m not only barefooted but I''m also braless?! I''m definitely gettin'' a bra! When I continued to walk forward, the big silhouette of a beast was hiding behind the corridor in the shadows, with its red eyes watching me wander around. It quietly growled at me and jumped backwards away from the wall. After shouting these words for the final time, the laughter echoed around me. The fog began to appear out of nowhere, covering the path a bit. I broadened my eyes while I looked down below me. "Huh?! What''s going on?!" "Alas, my sweet child. Welcome to Pagis. You fell right into my trap!" A familiar voice revibrated when darkness and the moon ruled the starless sky instead. Trapped?! The moment I heard this woman''s voice, I realized it was the old lady from earlier. I crossed my arms and shivered even more, looking up at the sky. I frowned at the night sky when the old lady revibrated her sadistic laughter at me. I shouldn''t have ever trusted that old lady. Now I needed to get out of this place fast. I then studied the environment all around me and it was no ordinary town. Even though the buildings were the same as before, the trees and bushes were now leafless. There were dimly lit street lights everywhere, and the crows and ravens'' caws replaced the birds'' chirpings. The smell of decay and death entered my nostrils-an unpleasant smell if you ask me. The same cool breeze blew my hair into my face, making me wipe it out of my face. The fog was six feet above the ground and, last of all, there was an ancient castle out of nowhere watching me from above. After a couple of thunderbolts struck down behind the castle, I shivered and took a couple deep breaths when I stared at it, swallowing my spit. Even though I found no exit so far, I felt like I was in a different world. I asked myself where I was, what this place was, and how I would get the hell out of here. "Prepare to die, my little lassie!" The same voice echoed, laughing ferociously, when I heard a big bang and a beast''s growl behind me. Gasping, I jumped up a little and screamed while turning around. My breasts jiggled up and down a little. I saw no one around as of yet. I wanted to get away yet my curiosity prevented me from doing so. I shivered as the footsteps revibrated closer and closer towards me, with the black silhouette getting bigger and bigger. Once it got out of the fog, it was a black furred werewolf with its red eyes staring at me. Its fangs were not afraid to kill me, and its drool poured out from its mouth. When it roared at me, its stinky breath and saliva flew towards my face. I closed my eyes to prevent the spit from hurting my eyes. I quickly breathed out its breath and wiped its saliva off of my face on my dress. Ew! Ew! Ew! I took another look around and spotted an alleyway. I shivered when I saw it raise its claws up in the air. My mind pushed me to run for my own life. Screaming, I turned to the alleyway and jumped forward just in time to dodge its attack. While I ran, I looked back and forth, panting with my eyes widened. My breasts were jiggling out of control, and I couldn''t wait to get a bra. With the werewolf chasing after me, I didn''t have time to slow and and walk towards my destination, hoping my upper part of the dress didn''t tear while I ran for my life. The author''s tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. My heart pounded harder and faster on my chest. Sweat slid down on my cheeks a bit. The werewolf chased after me and it ran a bit faster than me. I tried to search for something to stun it, something to give me more time to find an exit. Yet the fog and the street lights blocked my view as I was running on the street. Okay, how am I supposed to lose this thin''?! It''s gonna kill me any minute now. I can''t imagine what my next reincarnation will be if I die a second time. It roared at me and raised its claw up again, getting ready to strike me again. I screamed at it while it swung its claw down at me. Then a crossbow arrow hitted that beast''s shoulder while it charged its claw against me. While it roared and fell to the ground, its blood splattered from its wound and spreaded on the ground. I stopped running and panted, staring at the monster. It relieved me to see that beast was finally dealt with at last. "You there, come, quick!" A mysterious man''s voice shouted behind me. Recognizing a male voice, I frowned and turned around to see a person in black silhouette, standing near the doorway, signaling me to come to him. The door far away from me was opened and the light came out from the doorway. Panting, I turned to the werewolf and the person of the black silhouette back and forth, wanting to go find another place to be in. I didn''t want the werewolf to kill me, nor stay with a man to lust after me. "C''mon now, you! Hurry before more werewolves kill you and take your corpse to the wicked woman. They can sense your smell from even a mile away," the mysterious man''s voice interrupted me during my search for sanctuary. I turned to the man and glared at him for a moment, taking a deep sigh. There was absolutely no way I was going in there with him. No way in hell I would! But I found nothing. Nada, zip, nothing at all. I desperately wanted to find a place to escape this hellhole. "Hurry! Those creatures could get you in any moment now!" The mysterious man''s voice warned. I gave that man a glare even more, scoffing at him. Oh, please! Over my dead ass body! After failing to find a sanctuary, the wounded werewolf roared at me from below, rising up from the ground. "Eeek!" I turned to and gasped at the monster as well as jumped a little, looking down at it. I shivered and leaned back a little. It growled at me and pulled the arrow out of its shoulder. With its wound immediately healing up, it glared at me with its bare fangs and its shadow was cast before me. I stared at its wound and widened my eyes a bit. I couldn''t believe it in my own eyes-that monster''s wound was healed. When it roared at me, my hands covered my face from its saliva flying towards it. Even though they did a pretty good job protecting my face, one of its saliva landed on one of my breasts. Blushing my face, I looked down at it and wiped it off of it, then wiping it on my dress. Ew, ew, ew, gross, gross, gross!!! Before that monster even got a chance to strike me with its claws, two thumping noises echoed behind it. As curiosity struck our minds, it turned around and I looked behind it from its left. I gasped out of shock with my hands covering my mouth, taking quick breaths. There my eyes spotted two black silhouettes rising from the ground in the fog. Their glowing red eyes darted at me and the werewolf earlier. I wondered if they were werewolves. When those creatures roared, I took a couple steps back, quietly and gently. They were indeed werewolves! That werewolf was still a bit occupied over its colleagues, while its ears detected my footsteps without me noticing it. When another crossbow arrow struck the werewolf''s back the moment the werewolf was about to turn back to me, I screamed and fell down on the ground, "Whoa!" My breasts jiggled up and down a bit. I saw its blood spattered again and sliding down on its back from its wound, while it collapsed back down on the ground. This was the second time the mysterious man who saved me. "C''mon now! Hurry! Those wolves are going to kill you!" The mysterious man''s voice echoed behind me. Hearing the other werewolves'' roars, their faraway footsteps echoed louder towards me while they ran. Looking back at that mysterious man''s house and those monsters chasing after me, I quickly turned around and ran my way towards that man''s house. I didn''t have much choice but to go to that place. I gave it a nervous frown on my face when I saw the mysterious man still standing by the doorway, waving at me. I hoped that man wouldn''t lust after me. If he did, I would make sure I would hide and run away from him, so that he would have a hard time killing me. That would be my plan if that would happen, which I hoped not. Once I arrived inside, I turned around and saw those monsters halfway towards the place, running past their colleague. The mysterious man shut the door and locked it, turning around and leaning against it. He turned out to be a bald, old man with only a mustache. There were several dimples all over his face and he wore some plain, green clothing. He carried a crossbow in his hands up to his chest. He panted and saw me lean back against the wall for a few seconds. "Phew! That was a close one. Are you alright?" The cold air made goosebumps pop out of my skin and hardened my nipples. Seeing his face only paying attention to my face, I looked down at my chest and blushed my embarrassed face, when I saw my nipples poked through my shirt. So I crossed my arms and covered up my chest as I couldn''t have him see me like this, turning to him and my chest back and forth with a glare. I couldn''t wait to get a bra as soon as possible. "Oh, did I startle you, young lady?" The old man asked. "Oh, don''t worry. I won''t cause you any harm, really." But when I noticed the moment he stood up straight and backed away from the door, I immediately gasped and took a couple steps back. "Whoa, there. Calm yourself. I won''t harm ya. I promise," the old man reassured. Yea, right¡ Keeping my distance from him, my back still leaned against the wall and watched him head towards the window. I noticed a couple candle lights standing on the table and the counters near the window covered in a black sheet. There were stacks of papers and books everywhere in the room, even on the floor! I turned to the other side and saw lots of books and stacks of paper everywhere in the entire room. Dust and cobwebs were all over the place, and the old cauldron stood inside the chimney. The hall of a stairway that led to the second floor stared at me and was curious to know who I was. While being disgusted with the mess in the room, the flowery aroma seemed to surprisingly dominate the room. Only the sound from the werewolves'' growl outside the house echoed into the house¡well¡for now at least. As soon as he grabbed a red pot, the door was bashed and made us jump a bit, turning to it in fright. There were incoming claw marks on the door caused by the werewolves, yet the door didn''t burst open yet. The wooden pieces flew off of those claw marks. I shivered a bit and stood there staring at the door, watching the door being bent backwards. With my heart pumping hard and fast, my eyes were twitchy sideways as my mouth was opened a little with my hands covering it. Issue #2-Chapter 3 While one of the werewolves tried to break its way in through the door, the other two tried to break their way through the window. Yet for some reason, it had no effect on it which made me raise my eyebrow after noticing it. I just heard some scratches on it several times, which made them roar out of frustration and turned on the door instead. It was confusing to me at first, but it was exciting that it saved me and the old man. I wondered what kind of window this was. What kind of glass was this used for it anyway? For a medieval fantasy world, I had to say this was such fantastic technology they got here. I took a couple of steps back while still watching the door getting weaker from the werewolves'' claws. Hearing something spraying behind me, I quickly turned around and saw the old man sprayed something across the room while he held the candle light on his hand, carrying a crossbow on his back and a candle. The smell was so hot in here, I covered my nose. "What are you doin''?!" I questioned. "No time to explain!" The old man opened the secret door to the basement, entering it while holding the door open for me to enter. "I''ll explain later. Right now¡Hurry! That door''s going to burst open now! You don''t want to be killed and be taken to the witch, do you?" I turned my head around and shivered when the door was still bent, except more cracks were on the door. It looked like it was about to burst in less than thirty seconds. I gazed at it for several seconds and took a couple more steps back. I knew this was going to be bad. "C''mon now, girl. Hurry!" The old man pleaded, signaling me to come to him with his calmer voice. I frowned when I realized I had no choice. I had to hide from those monsters in the basement with the old man. "Oh, I''m comin''!" I cried as I turned around and ran towards the basement. The old man watched me with a smile and a nod. I glared at him for a second. Oh, don''t bet your ass, old man! I only did it just to live, y''know. After I gently kneeled down and jumped down into the basement, the old man placed the candle down somewhere on top of the staircase and gently shut the secret door. Then the front door finally burst open and the werewolves sniffed the air. Their screams and roars echoed in the room. Curiosity began to rise in my mind: Did that very hot smell harm their noses? Will it be very difficult for them to find us? But that didn''t stop there. Their footsteps vibrated across the room. The old man and I waited for those beasts to begone, but they kept searching for us, hoping to find us. And so far, they''d failed to find us on the first floor. The footsteps headed for the second floor to search for us, sniffing the air there. "I think they''re searching for us upstairs," the old man''s voice whispered. "Oh, you don''t say," I answered in a lower voice. When they also failed to find us in a while, their sad roars echoed and their footsteps now echoed downstairs. Then they roared with one another for a while longer, wondering when they would leave. Impatience began brewing inside my mind, taking a deep sigh with my mouth closed. I wished these monsters would get the hell out here. With them staying here longer than usual was just pissing me off, greatly! "Ugh, now what are they doin''?" My voice whispered. "I don''t know, probably chattin'' with one another," the old man whispered back. "Well, they''re takin'' a long ass time to be chattin'' in here." "Why, yes, they sure are. But we must still be patient if we want to remain alive, my dear." Although I agreed with him entirely, I didn''t dare to speak to him any further. When the old man moved a little and knocked down the sprayer on the staircase, it bounced forward and rolled over in the darkness until it stopped moving. Gasping in silence, we looked up at the secret door and heard the werewolves'' growl above us. As soon as the old man picked up the candle, I watched him with a glare. "Way to go, old man!" I whispered in my angry tone. He turned to me and saw me cross my arms to cover up my chest. I glared at him and moved my body away from him. "C''mon, now let''s head downstairs before those monsters find and kill us both to take us to the witch," the old man whispered. I reluctantly turned to the end of the hall, seeing nothing but darkness over there. The candle light not only radiated the stony walls around us, but also the wooden floor above us and the wooden stairway below us. I turned back to him with my constant scoff. "Huh?! Down there?! With you?!" "Well, sorry. It''s the only way to be safe, I''m afraid." He began to turn downstairs. "And you might want to cover your nose. It''s going to get messy." As soon as that same smell from earlier, I covered my nose with my fingers and a frown. Standing up from the staircase, I ran downstairs with the old man quickly while turning my head back and forth. "And what is that anyway?" The author''s tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. "That would be spice." So that''s what it was. "Spice?! Why the hell are you sprayin'' that?!" "To make it difficult for the werewolves to find us through smelling its prey." After I looked up at the secret door for a quick gaze, the werewolf''s footsteps echoed louder as it approached the secret door. I widened my eyes and quickly turned around. When he turned to me, my cheeks were reddened and I immediately crossed my arms to prevent him from lusting at me, following his lead to the basement. Seriously though, why the hell was I reincarnated as a beautiful, yet slutty woman?! Why couldn''t I be reincarnated as an ugly woman who''s not slutty to begin with?! If I was reincarnated as an ugly woman, I wouldn''t have this problem with guys even lookin'' at me in the first place. Ugh! Once we made it to the basement, the old man turned left and headed towards his destination. My curious eyes began to wander around the room. The only things that appeared in the room were a table, another door near the stairway which the old man was heading towards, and a couple of small treasure chest boxes. The spice kettle was lying on the floor and its liquid was coming out of it, spreading out its aroma. I conjectured what was inside of them when I stared at treasure chests as well as the door. "Oh, shit!" I whispered when the werewolf''s roar from above echoed in the basement. It made me jumpy on the stony ground a bit, panting my quick breaths. My twitchy eyes stared at the hallway while I shivered my ass off. That signaled me to better go hide before those monsters caugh us and kill us. I turned to the door and the hall back and forth. Inside that door only contained clothes hanging on the wall, shoes and boots on the floor and boxes of feathers and jewelry on the top shelf that the old man was examining. As soon as I saw the old man begin to hide in there, he signaled me with his hand to hide in there with him. "C''mon. Hurry!" I sighed and frowned at him for a moment. When I heard the old man''s voice echoing around me, my eyes searched for a different hiding place as I was not in a mood to hide in there with him again. Yet I sighed out of frustration when I failed to find it, returning my attention to him for a little while. "Oh!" I quietly screeched again and jumped up a little, when I peaked at the hall from the doorway from the corridor. I broadened my eyes when I saw a little bend on the secret door, watching the werewolf banging on it a couple times, hearing its growls across the room. The werewolves are breakin'' in, and my mind reminded me that this was the time to hide. "Okay, we need to hide in there now!" The old man whispered. I glared at the old man when I looked at him and the closet back and forth, shivering while swallowing my spit. After a couple seconds, the old man headed towards me, grabbed my arm and dragged me inside the closet. "No time to stand there. Our lives are at stake here!" Although I wasn''t happy that he touched me, I ignored it for my safety''s sake. I then turned to the kettle lying on the ground, turning back to the old man. "But what about the kettle on the floor? Aren''t you gonna pick it up?" "Forget about it. It wouldn''t come with us anyway." He shut the door just in time before the secret door finally broke open. I wiped his touch off of my arms while I stood there with the old man, moving my eyes sideways. A couple monsters'' roars echoed throughout the basement. Their footsteps echoed louder while they walked towards the room smelling the room, yet they screeched in agony, probably from smelling the spices on the floor. The closet was getting a bit dimmer, causing me to turn to the old man. I saw him place the candle close to his chest and hid the flame behind his hand. "What are you doin''?!" I asked in a whisper. "Trying to prevent the monsters from spotting us?" The old man asked back in a whisper. "You can''t be serious¡" "Why, yes. I''m that serious." I sighed when the old man and I turned back to the door. While the monsters'' footsteps roamed around the room, they sniffed everywhere but still failed to find us-their prey, no matter how hard they tried. We were lucky that they didn''t even burst the closet open, probably because the spices stringed their noses, even if all the spices exited the door. They knew it was too late and roared, leaving the basement to get their noses healed. Thinking that the werewolves were gone, the old man and I sighed while he uncovered the light inside the closet. I smiled at the door and widened my excited eyes. So those spices did work after all! It was such a brilliant, brilliant plan. So I watched the old man open the door and we both exited the closet. We studied the environment and the cool air from the outside spreaded in the room, giving us goosebumps. Once the cool air hardened my nipples though, my cheeks were reddened and I looked down at my chest. I turned to the old man and only spotted the back of his head just staring at me. I returned to my chest. I knew it was my time to better cover up before he does. I managed to quickly cover my nipples to prevent the old man from looking at them. I turned to the old man and saw his head still not looking at me, sighing out of relief. Then I turned to the stairway and the old man back and forth. I saw some moonlight in that room. I wanted to escape from him now, yet I was too scared to go out since darkness now spreaded all over the house alongside the incoming fog. But I wasn''t the only one who was scared of immediately leaving the basement. The old man was too; he turned to me and looked up at my face with my cheeks no longer blushing out of embarrassment. "Okay, since those monsters are probably still outside, maybe we should stay here a bit longer," the old man said as I nodded in agreement. "Good idea," I agreed as he placed the candle and the crossbow on the table. Quietly scooting the chair in and out, he sat down in the chair and noticed me standing there. "Oh, you can sit down if you want." I shook my head sideways. "Oh, um, no thank you. I prefer to remain standing." "Are you sure?" "I''m positive." "Alright, then. As you wish." "So, uh, what happened to this place? It feels like this place has been haunted or something. Or is this somethin'' that the witch was created herself?" "Oh, this place? Well, well now. Allow me to tell you the tale of this place." The old man pointed his finger upward. "Now please be informed that this is what I heard from the remaining survivors here before they died here as well." I raised my eyebrow at him. "So they''re rumors?" "Yes, rumors. Now where was I?" The old man thought about it for a moment, until somethin'' popped up in his head. "Oh, yes. That''s it. It all started long, long ago¡ Issue #2-Chapter 4 "It all started in the world of Arak," the old man continued, "There was once a lively, peaceful kingdom within the land of Pratus known as Shalom. There lived a newly appointed king and queen through an arranged marriage, and the people there lived peacefully there. "Everything was going so well until the new monarchs were pressured to have an heir to not only continue on the family line, but also win favor amongst their people. They tried to produce an heir, but found out that the new queen was barren. "This grieved the king as his and his wife''s reputation were ruined by their townsfolk and the aristocracy. He and his wife tried everything to make his wife fertile, even praying to the gods for help but only found failure, leading themselves into further distress. "So the new monarchs separated themselves from the rest of the kingdom and turned to other things to get over their distress. While the queen turned to sowing, the king turned to hunting. "Yet despite all this, even that didn''t work in their favor. And so they continued on with their daily lives until one day while the king was taking a walk in the forest, he stood by the lake and sighed with a frown. "The thought of not producing an heir still haunts his mind. He stared at the reflection from the lake. ''O, what am I going to do now?'' the king said, ''I tried everything to maintain my legitimacy as king of Shalom, but I failed to prove my worth.'' He covered his face with his hands as he sobbed. ''O, what am I going to do now? How do I make people take me seriously as king again?'' "Then the witch heard the king''s cry and tsk-tsked him. ''O, why are you so glum, my dear king?'' She asked. "''Huh?!'' The king was alerted when he heard the witch''s voice, pulling out his sword. ''Who goes there?! Come out and show yourself!'' "Then the witch showed herself to the king and the king was frightened when he saw her, aiming his sword at her, ''You stay away from me!'' "''But why, sir? I''m here to help you,'' the witch pleaded. "''Stay away from me, you demon! You witches will all burn in Ginnom once I kill you, and the gods will honor me for it!'' the king warned with a glare. "''O well, if you keep pushing me away, how will I be able to cure your wife''s barrenness?'' the witch questioned with a frown. "The king gasped and immediately put away his sword, ''Excuse me, miss. Did you say you have a cure for my wife''s barrenness?'' "''That''s right,'' the witch said with a nod, ''I could definitely help you fix your problem by making a potion.'' "''Oh, you would do that?'' "''Oh, why, yes, I would most certainly do that but there''s some payment that you owe me.'' "''I''ll reward you anythin'', woman. You name your reward.'' "''Good, good. That''s what I want to hear. Your heir will be your payment.'' "The king became confused and asked, ''My heir? You want me to give you my heir?'' "''Why, yes, your heir-your son,'' the witch nodded. "''And why do you want to have my son?'' "''The king''s son helps witches with their longevity by a huge margin and any other babies in Arak, it''s just what witches have to do to survive after we discovered eating humans actually does give us longevity long ago.'' "''And you couldn''t find another way for longevity?'' "''I''m afraid not, my king. You will have to give me your son as payment for making your wife barren.'' "''Please accept money as payment over my son.'' "''Absolutely not. I do not take any other payment other than an heir, sir.'' "''Please, accept any other payment besides my son, please.'' "''Well, if you feel you can''t provide me an heir, I shall leave your wife barren and have your kingdom remain in ruins, sir. Have a nice day, my king.'' "''Wait!'' "''Yes?'' "The king paused for a moment there with his head down, before he returned his attention to the witch. ''I shall provide you my son as payment.'' "''Excellent, I knew you would make the right choice. I shall provide you my potion once it''s ready.'' "''Brilliant.'' "And the witch did as she promised and gave the potion to the king. The king returned to his wife as they were getting ready for the night. The king said to her, ''My love, I''ve got you a cure for your infertility.'' "The queen gasped and smiled at her husband and said, ''Really? Well, what is it?'' The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. "The king gave his wife the potion. ''Here.'' "''This is my cure?'' "''It is indeed my wife, but I must make a payment in return.'' "''What payment in return?'' "''I must provide an heir to the witch.'' "The queen was rightfully horrified at the news and said, ''You made a deal with the witch?! Our gods'' mortal enemies?! Have you gone mad?!'' "''I have a plan though, and it wouldn''t really be our son.'' "''What?'' "''If we have an heir, we''ll send someone''s son to the witch instead. We''ll still keep our heir, trust me.'' "After the queen calmed down a bit, she then said, ''Fine. If we''re going to do this, we better keep it to ourselves.'' "''Why would I disagree with that?'' "So the king and queen kept their secret to themselves and the queen drank the potion that would made her fertile, which pleased the townsfolk and the aristocracy throughout Shalom. They produced four daughters which would get them out to the public a lot more. Yet they still didn''t have an heir and were pressured to produce it. "The king and queen did and they finally produced an heir, which excited the kingdom of Shalom. Yet they encountered the witch watching them from the window, leading them to go on with their plan. "So they visited the witch in the forest and provided her with a wrapped baby boy. "''There you are, woman. We appreciate what you''ve done for us,'' the queen said. "''Yes, absolutely,'' the king agreed, ''We wouldn''t have done this without you.'' "The witch looked inside the baby wrap and saw the baby smiling at her, touching his nose a bit. ''Why, of course, of course, my dear king and queen. And I also thank you for your offer. I appreciate your gratitude and accept your payment gift. I hope you two have a good day and wish you both a prosperous kingdom.'' "''We wish you to have a nice day and great longevity,'' the rulers said as they waved at the witch and left the forest. After the witch waved back at them, she looked down at the laughing baby and licked her lips. ''Ah, yes, yes. You''re all mine now and I''m just starving.'' "Nine days after the witch ate the baby boy, she was enjoying her day in the forest until a couple of women passed by her. She hid behind the bushes to avoid being detected, while their laughter echoed throughout the forest. "''Did you hear that the prince of Shalom is getting a holy cleansing provided by the gods this morning?'' One of them asked as the witch became confused. "''The prince of Shalom is getting a holy cleansing?'' the witch asked herself in a lower voice, ''But I just ate the ruler''s heir. I don''t understand at all. How could he survive being eaten by the witch?'' "''Why, yes, of course I have,'' another woman answered. ''He''s just so cute, I bet he''s even cuter when he was cleansed.'' "''I know right,'' one of the women said as she and the other one laughed. The witch came out of hiding and her face became even more confused, walking back and forth until she finally figured it all out which made her very angry. ''Oh, they tricked me! They gave me the wrong baby to eat! Oh, I''ll get them for that! They shall see my wrath.'' "After the prince was cleansed, the rulers threw a celebratory party for his cleansing. The king and queen were having a good time in their kingdom and gaining respect from society again, until the witch arrived and pointed her finger at the rulers, right after she found out that the baby was indeed alive after all. "''You tricked me! You said you would give me your heir as payment for making the queen fertile, yes? And yet you tricked me into eating the wrong baby boy! Did you want me to die young? Now you will face punishment for breaking your promise to me!'' The witch roared. She cast her spells on the king and turned him into a lycan, the queen into a vampiress, and their four daughters into other monsters alongside the aristocrats, staff and soldiers there. "The monsters there terrorized and killed the townsfolk there. The witch killed the heir with her fingernails and watched the kingdom of Shalom in ruin with joy, preparing to feast on the heir, becoming ruler of the kingdom. With some of the townsfolk having died ever since the incident, some of them survived and asked the kingdoms for help to rescue Shalom from the witch. "Before help arrived however, the witch used her magic to seal off the kingdom and prevented other kingdoms from saving Shalom, never mind finding it. Shalom was never found and thus the survivors were never taken seriously ever again because of this. It became the kingdom of never returning. "As the years went by and the majority of the people were killed there, the witch decided to unseal Shalom as a peaceful town without the castle being present there. Changing the kingdom''s name to Pagis, she tricked travelers into attending there through her good deeds and got them killed for her to feast on. And the cycle repeats with no one to save the kingdom from her and it remains like this for years to come." Remaining standing there with my arms crossed, my eyes still darted at the old man and I asked him while wandering my eyes around, "Ah, so this place used to be called Shalom before the witch became ruler of the kingdom, eh?" "Yes, it was," the old man responded while he stood up from the chair. "I think it''s safe for us to go find Silverus and Aleke while we''re at it." "And who are they exactly? Are they friends of yours or something?" "Why, of course, yes. They are," the old man walked around the table past me with the crossbow and the candle in his hand. "We have to find them to help us save Shalom and get out of this kingdom. Then we shall have to destroy all the monsters and the witch-the first one being Alpha, the lycan king. It''s the only way out." You''ve gotta be kiddin'' me¡like, is there no other way besides that?! Seriously?! I raised my eyebrow at him. "And I''m guessin'' this lycan king is the king of Shalom, yes?" "Yes, that''s right," the old man said before he widened his eyes and grabbed onto his chest, which led him to stop moving and collapsed to the ground. "Argh!" The candle and the crossbow landed on the ground, nowhere to be seen. There was smoke ascending towards the ceiling, as I assumed the candle was blown out already. The sound of the crossbow sliding on the floor revibrated until it hit the stairway. "Huh?! Hey, are you alright?!" I dashed towards the old man and kneeled down on the floor, shaking the old man. I didn''t expect him to collapse, but here we are regardless. I heard no response from him as his eyes were closed. "Hey, are you okay, old man?" There was still no response from him, so I said, "Hello?!" to him and shook him a couple more times. Still no answer from him. I frowned at the old man and moved my eyes sideways. I was quizzical about whether he was dead or not. Oh, please don''t tell me you''re dead. Please don''t tell me you''re dead. I turned to the stairway and the old man back and forth, struggling to decide whether I should leave the old man dyin'' alone or save him. After a while though, I was more likely about to leave the old man and get the hell out of here, yet I couldn''t sit by and see him die like that. So I remained with him and hoped that he would remain alive. Issue #3-Chapter 5 It had been a while since the old man collapsed to the floor. I sat near him and watched him sleep after I checked his impulses. Thank God he was still alive. Now all I had to do was to watch him awake and check for any incoming werewolf coming nearby. I heard and saw nothing in sight so far. Nothing but silence echoing around me. I wanted to dump this man and leave him alone while he was unconscious, yet I wasn''t brave enough to go alone, especially after encountering the werewolf earlier. There was no way in hell I would go off in that dangerous world out there with all those monsters roaming around. No way! Plus, why would I even both carry a heavy guy to my way out of this place? He would be too heavy for me to carry him out of here anyhow. I continued to stay here with him and wait for him to wake up, so that we could both leave this place. I sighed as there was no telling when we would leave. Growing bored of just staring at him and waited for him to wake up from his slumber, I stood up from the ground and had a lot of exploring around to do in here. I was curious to know what secrets could this old man store, as well as learn more about this new world''s culture. I loved the idea of traveling all over the world, so my curiosity about this world dominated my mind at the moment. Walking around the secret room, I looked everywhere in here so far and found nothing of interest. I was going to open the chest door but it was guarded by a rusty lock. Looking down at the chest box, I placed my hand on my chin and sighed. Hmm¡I wonder what''s in that box. How do I find this key? By the time I wanted to look for the key, my ears caught the old man''s moan. I gasped when my eyes turned right with my broadened eyes. It appeared the old man was awake afterall. That was when I better go check on him to see if he was alright or not. Crossing my arms to cover up my breasts, I slowly turned around and saw the old man moving around on the floor. I smiled at the fact that I rushed my way over to him and sat back down on the floor. I saw him slowly open his eyes to readjust his vision. The moment he saw me sitting near him, he grinned at me and said, "Oh, it''s you again." "Oh, thank God, you''re alive. I couldn''t leave without someone on my side, thanks to those monsters running around loose. We need to get you out of here now and find some help for you." The old man nodded, "Right. Let''s go get this over with, shall we?" As I reluctantly uncrossed my arms, I tried to pull him up from the floor. But for some reason, his painful chest prevented him from leaving his position any time further. "Oh, oh, oh, oh!" Panting, the old man placed his hand on his chest and just sat still. He didn''t bother moving any further. I widened my eyes. "Are you alright, sir?" "Nope, I don''t think so," the old man responded. "I think my heart is still suffering from pain." He looked up at my face. "It looks like I won''t be able to continue on for a little while, at least." And I thought we were supposed to get out of here. Well since the old man''s a bit too weak to move, I guess I would have to keep staying here, did I? He slowly laid himself down on the floor, and then returned his attention back to me. So I crossed my arms again to prevent the old man from ogling at them. I was going to help him lay back down, yet his face appeared to fight against the pain a little, and I thought he did it pretty well. "Excuse me, miss¡um¡uh¡" the old man said. I could tell he deliberately wanted to know my name, yet I wouldn''t even bother telling him mine. "I don''t remember my name right now," I lied. "Oh¡I see¡I''m going to need you to meet up with other survivors Aleke and Silverus at the fountain area of the town." I broadened my fearful eyes. "By myself?! With all those monsters roaming around in this kingdom?!" The old man nodded. "Yes, by yourself. I was pretty clear when I told you that I couldn''t move for now. Plus, Silverus has one of those potions to help me cool down the pain on my chest more. That''s why I''m sending you there." "But that''s impossible! There''s no way I''m going out there alone! Not ever!" "But you must." The old man scanned his surroundings and was going to give me a crossbow, yet all the arrows were empty. So he grabbed the ax from his back despite the pain hurting him and gave it to me instead. "Here. Take it. You''ll need it for self defense a lot more than I do." If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation. You can''t be serious! I shivered and just stared at the weapon, taking some quick breaths. I swallowed my saliva with my heart pounding on my chest hard and fast like a train engine. Okay, I really didn''t feel like taking it right now. "Go on, what are you waiting for? Take it. Don''t be afraid. You''re going to need it to defend yourself, you know," the old man suggested, moving the ax toward me a little further. "And what about you? How are you going to defend yourself?" I questioned after I looked down at the old man and the ax back and forth. "I''m already safe here. Those monsters won''t come in here to kill me and take me to that awful, awful witch. You''re going out there and I''m not. In fact, I was going down there until you came. I''ll be fine." "But-" This old man was incredibly insane. The old man sighed out of patience and shook it a little. "Just take the ax and don''t worry about me. I''ll be fine here. Just take it already." Oh, screw it! If the old man wants to die here, so be it! My eyes darted straight at the ax and I slowly moved my shaky hand towards the ax. Sweat was pouring down on my face and my heart beated harder and faster than ever before. Once I grabbed the ax from the old man''s hand, the old man returned his attention to the ceiling and I asked, "So where do I find this fountain, old man?" "Once you leave this place, you head straight at the end of the alleyway and turn left. When you continue to walk straight, you should be able to find the fountain there," the old man answered. "And when you arrive there, be sure to tell the survivors that I sent you there." "Got it," I slowly stood up from the floor and looked down at the old man. "I''ll be sure to return with the survivors with me as soon as possible." The old man smiled at me and nodded. "Good luck. You''re going to need it." "I will. You too." Turning to the staircase, I swallowed my saliva and shivered a little. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before I even took a step forward. I seriously couldn''t believe I agreed to do this, yet I did anyway. As soon as I walked towards the stairs, I walked upwards on the first floor and took a look around. Despite being dark in here, everything seemed back to normal except the door pieces lying on the floor. I looked down at those pieces and tried not to step on them while I walked towards the exit. Standing by the doorway, my eyes scanned my environment, only to see buildings without any lights on, the road below me and the fog in my way. I was at least happy to see no werewolves in sight. The smell of death and decay still bothered me and the sound of silence filled the air around me. The cold air caused me to have some goosebumps on my skin. I shivered even more whenever I examined that fog. Something about it just gave me the creeps, especially when that werewolf came out of there like that earlier. Standing there for a while longer, I swallowed my spit and took a deep breath once again. Alright, Mara. Here we go now. I began walking on this path towards the end of the alleyway, reminding myself of the directions the old man gave me earlier. While I walked, I would look front and back just to make sure no werewolf was in sight. It could be anywhere, even hiding in the fog! Once I finally got there, I looked both ways for any signs of the werewolf present. I found nothing but the street lights, leafless trees and buildings. When I was about to turn left, I spotted a pool of fresh new blood lying on the ground. Curiosity made me investigate the scene, only to find some blood splatter on the walls standing near the pool of blood. I betted someone was killed recently, and wondered how many survivors were killed as well. It was all a mystery like a shrouded fog. Either way, it definitely made me shiver down my spine, swallowing my spit once more. Then I noticed something that I missed: the trailing blood on the ground. When I turned to its direction, it probably led to the fountain area or even elsewhere within Pagis. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I reminded myself to find Aleke and...Silverus. I just hoped no werewolves were there at the fountain. I reluctantly began to turn left and walk forward towards the fountain. While I walked, I turned my head up at the castle, hoping I would be able to escape from this horrible place. As I was halfway towards my destination, there was no sound of a running fountain at all. It felt as though the water was either dried up or turned off. Next, my ears caught a woman''s scream, followed by the werewolf''s roar, made me gasp quietly and jump a bit. I shivered and breathed deeply a couple times, along with swallowing my spit. The werewolf''s growl, the slicing sound of its victim, and a loud thud also in front of me, followed by the dragging sound. I hoped that the victim wasn''t Aleke. I really hoped not. I failed to see either the victim nor the werewolf in sight, with all this fog in the way. So I took a couple steps while moving my terrified eyes sideways. The ax stood near my cheek and its blade reflected it like a mirror. Although I knew the old man told me to head straight, but there was no way I would be heading there anytime soon. Not ever in my lifetime as long as the werewolf was there. I needed to find another way to that fountain. My eyes searched everywhere and failed to find any, even behind me. I returned my head to the front and was relieved when I saw no incoming werewolf so far. Then I bumped onto something behind me, something furry. Huh? I quickly turned around and gasped as a giant shadow was cast upon me, widening my eyes. It was a werewolf standing before me and growled at me, with its drooling, sharp teeth smirking at me. Its brown fur gazed at me and its yellow, serpent-like eyes gazed at me. Opening my mouth, I shivered and breathed hard a couple more breaths out of fear. I frowned and widened my eyes when my heart beated on my chest hard and fast, with sweat forming on my forehead, getting ready to slide down on my face. I couldn''t believe that I encountered another werewolf. When it raised its claws up in the air, it roared at me and sent its saliva and bad breath flying towards my face. I was lucky no spit landed on my face up to my chest area. Issue #3-Chapter 6 Oh, shit! When the werewolf tried to swing its claws against me, I bared my gritted teeth as I quickly held up my ax in front of me. Closing my eyes, I hoped it would protect me from its attack. However, the werewolf''s attack was so strong it broke the ax in half! The ax flipped over in the air before bouncing and sliding on the ground. I opened one of my eyes and saw the ax''s top half gone. "What the-?!" With my hands and arms shaky a bit, my eyes tried to search for the top half of the ax, yet they failed to spot it thanks to the fog covering the area. I turned to the bottom and top halves of the ax, with my shocked, widened eyes and opened mouth. I couldn''t believe this monster managed to broke the ax in half. By the time I looked up at the werewolf, I dropped the handle and it bounced on the ground sideways. I shivered even more as my heart pounded on my chest hard and fast, alongside sweat began to form on my forehead. When it raised its claw up, it roared at me again with its saliva and bad breath flying out of its mouth. Even though I was lucky that the spit never again landed on my face nor my body down to my chest, my mind now told me that it was time for me to go. I screamed at it and jumped backwards away from its attack. When the monster missed its target, swinging its claw against the air, I quickly turned around and took a look around. I tried to search for a way to escape from the monster, yet I still failed to find any with the fog blocking my eyes. It made me frown when I struggled to find it, sighing. Oh, you''ve gotta be kiddin'' me¡ The moment the werewolf''s roar echoed behind me, it made me jump a little and turned around. I saw it running up towards me. Then I returned my head to the front and began to run for my life. When I looked back and forth, the monster was running faster than me and was trying to catch up with me at every chance it got! My nippy breasts were juggling out of control while I ran. Panicky, I searched everywhere and tried to think of a way to slow it down, so that it would buy me some time. I yet still failed to find it until I stumbled upon a wooden chair standing near one of the clustered, small buildings. I ran after it and picked it up from the ground, turning around. I glared at the monster while it was still dashing towards me. By the time the monster''s shadow was casted upon me, I lifted it off the ground above my head and waited for the right moment to attack. When the monster leaned its fangs towards my neck, my mind commanded me to attack now and so I did. When I hitted the monster''s head, the chair broke into pieces and fell onto the ground. The monster screamed out of agony and collapsed to the ground. Looking down at the werewolf, I saw no blood oozing on the ground. I assumed it was lying there unconscious. I panted and sighed out of relief when I lowered my weapon. Then another roar echoed to my left. It made me jump a little when I turned in that roar''s direction, gasping. Widening my eyes, I shivered and dropped my broken weapon on the ground. I couldn''t believe that another werewolf coming towards my way. Seeing no werewolf in sight so far, I had my eyes wander for a place to hide, yet the footsteps were walking in my direction. I found nothing in front of me, so I turned left in the fountain''s direction with a serious look on my face. Turning to the werewolf''s direction and the fountain back and forth, I decided to run in the fountain''s direction. I knew I had to get to that fountain and find those two survivors. I hoped they were there and not killed, especially the Silverus guy that the old man mentioned. I had to be there alive and couldn''t afford to lose that old man. Whenever I turned to the lycan''s direction, I still saw no werewolf in sight. With the werewolf''s roar echoing coming from its directions, its footsteps followed as it dashed after me. I hurried my way towards my destination as fast as I could, yet the moment I turned back to that monster''s direction, I gasped to see how fast it was in a black silhouette. My heart pounded harder and faster when I knew how close that monster was in approaching me. The monster''s roar revibrated the area as I continued my journey towards my destination. Yet I gasped yet again when I spotted another big beast in black silhouette, raising my fist in front of my chest. I saw it turned around and darted its glowing red eyes at me, roaring at me. Broadening my eyes, I assumed it was definitely another werewolf standing there in my way, which frustrated me to no end. I looked back and forth at the werewolves staring at me. Changing my mind about the fountain, I needed to search for another direction, a hiding place to escape from these werewolves. When I turned to another alleyway near the werewolf, I realized I couldn''t go there due to that monster blocking my way. Find this and other great novels on the author''s preferred platform. Support original creators! The moment a werewolf''s shadow was casted upon me, I gasped at it with my widening eyes. I saw it raise its claw up in the air and darted its red eyes at me. My mind pressured me to move as I shivered with my bare, gritted teeth. I stared at it a little bit when the other werewolf walked up towards me. I turned to the other way and ran for my life when the monster swung its claw down towards me. The werewolf behind me tried to bite my neck, yet missed its target when I jumped forward. After hearing their roars, I looked back while running and saw them dash towards me. I returned to my direction and had my eyes scanned for something to either stun them or slow them both down. My heart pounded my chest harder and faster while I ran. Sweat was spreading out all over my body. My breasts were bouncing up and down wildly out of control. I found nothing useful in sight so far. Nothing at all. I just wanted to keep running and look for an exit, yet my mind wouldn''t let me and insisted that I kept going. I looked back and forth with my widened eyes and saw those monsters were halfway towards me. They raised their claws up and roared at me. Caving to my mind''s demands, I continued to search for something that would keep them occupied. But I still managed to find none, no matter how many times my mind pressured me so. As the monsters continued to get near me, I still continued to search for something while looking back and forth. I was beginning to run slower once the energy on my legs ran dry. My feet were dominated by pain. I swallowed my spit when I looked back and forth, panting with my mouth open a couple times. Once their shadows were casted upon me, I looked back and screamed. The monsters roared at me and raised their claws above their heads, getting ready to strike me. Returning to my destination, I gasped and widened my eyes out of amazement. Not only did I see another dark alley, but also a cart full of rotten, moldy apples with some blood stains on them standing under the street light. I smiled when I finally found something that would slow my enemies down. I immediately jumped forward when the monsters swung down at my back, yet they missed their target and only swung against the air instead. Once I made it to the cart, I pushed it from one of its sides while the werewolves roared at me, despite how a bit heavy it was. Although I couldn''t stand that bad smell, I made sure not to set my hands on those apples. They didn''t even bother to move yet; they just stood there and raised their claws back while roaring at me. But by the time they charged their claws after me, I was able to push it down on the path. I hoped those things would slow them down. When those monsters stepped on one of those apples each, they slipped over and fell down like a bunch of bananas, roaring out of pain. I panted and watched them fall down and lay there on the ground, surrounded by those apples. I panted with my hand raised in front of my chest and my mouth closed. Seeing those monsters stunned just gave me an opportunity to hurry up to find a hiding place, before those monsters find me. When a monstrous roar echoed from my left, I was jumpy a bit and turned to its direction, walking backwards a bit before I entered another dark alleyway. I took a look around me and hoped to find something around me. I found a lot of doors in the front yard and hoped I was able to head inside. At the same time though, I heard footsteps echoing behind me which made me look back and forth. Believing I had no time to open every door in the area, I kept walking forward. I continued on until I spotted another werewolf halfway in the alleyway. I stopped moving and gasped, shivering and covering my mouth with my hands. The werewolf was facing the rest of the buildings towards the end of the alleyway. Although I was lucky it didn''t detect me at first, its ears faced me. I took a look around for a place to hide and my eyes spotted a door creaked open a little. There was no light inside and I hoped there was no werewolf there. By the time the monster sniffed the air, that was when I knew I needed to hide now. Remembering those spices that the old man sprayed in his house earlier, I hoped they were in there as well. I believed the werewolf had already caught my scent. It was useless hiding from it, even in the fog. When the werewolf turned around, it roared at me and detected my presence, charging its way after me. Telling myself to run, I ran for my life and headed for that house. While I ran, more monstrous roars echoed from my right. I turned to those sounds and my destination back and forth as fear dominated my mind. I wanted to remain calm, but having more incoming wolves after me had made me less calm. As soon as I made it there, I quickly opened the door and the monster''s shadow was already casted upon me. I looked up at the werewolf and gasped, seeing it charge towards me with its claws out in the air. It bared its fangs and blood and its drools were flying out of its mouth. I assumed it already killed someone in the area recently. I hurried inside and shut the door, locking it while the monster slammed itself against the door, causing the door to lean back a little. Hearing the werewolf sliding down onto the door, I turned around and walked backwards a little, shivering and covering my mouth with my hands. Then I turned back around and swallowed my own saliva. I heard nothing but silence in the room, and the smell of death and decay entered my nostrils. While I took a look around in the room, I saw nothing but darkness in here which led me to search for something to light it up. It was interrupted by the werewolves'' growls and the banging on the door. Being jumpy a bit more, I quickly turned around and gazed at the door, shivering and covering my mouth with my hands as the door was bent open a little, with some wood pieces flying off of it. I also saw a couple werewolves trying to bang on the window. I was desperate to find those spices and hide as quickly as possible, before those things killed me and took me off to that horrible, horrible witch! Issue #4-Chapter 7 But before I started searching for those spices, I immediately searched for the matches and the candle to light up the dark room. My eyes searched everywhere while the lycans banged on the door and window. I finally found them sitting at the corner of the wooden table, despite the lycans'' shadows trying to darken the room a bit. Ignoring the loud banging on the door, I dashed towards those items and quickly lightened the room, turning my fearful head back and forth. I saw nothing but a lot of books and papers stacked all over the tables. Dust and cobwebs were everywhere, and the cauldron was rusty near the fireplace. There was no second floor on this house. It was such a messy room indeed. The fresh air entered my nose and the only thing I heard was the lycans'' roar and the banging on the window and the door. The moment I looked back, I gasped when I saw the door was nearly bent backwards a bit and several wooden pieces were lying on the floor. I didn''t even bother caring about the window, because it was strong enough to withstand such a blow. I turned back around and swallowed my saliva with my serious face, as I now began to search for the spices. I searched everywhere in the room as fast as I could, yet I found no spices in the room so far. Hearing the door kept banging more often than ever before, my mind kept hounding me to keep searching for them. But I still failed to find them, no matter how many times I tried. With the big bang echoing through the room, I quickly turned my head to its direction and quietly gasped with my twitchy eyes and opened my mouth. There was a big hole in the middle of the door and the door was three quarters bent. And some of the moonlight emitted through it. It was about to break open at any time, which made me swallow my spit. Okay, Mara. Screw those spices. We need to get the hell out of here. I quickly studied my surroundings and found nothing so far. I wondered how I was supposed to get out of here. When the lycans continued to bang on the door, I continued my search for the exit until my eyes spotted a rectangular shaped door on the wall. Thinking I finally found an exit, I dashed towards it and tried to move the big box out of the way. Feeling too heavy for me to move, I pushed it out of the way and was able to touch the door, rubbing all over it with a smile for a little while. I looked back and saw the door was getting ready to burst open in less than thirty seconds. I returned to the secret door and gave it a nod with a glare, before I opened it and exited out of this damn house in general. After entering the secret door, I closed it behind me and scanned my eyes around the environment. I saw nothing but the stony halls and wondered where the passage would take me. Silence echoed around me and the fresh air spreaded around. I shivered a bit and swallowed my spit, taking a deep breath. When the sound of the door finally burst open, I quietly gasped and turned to the door with a pant with my mouth open. The lycan''s growls echoed through the secret passage. I reminded myself to get going and I dashed straight ahead when the lycans sniffed the air. Their immediate growls resurfaced the area, but I ignored it and kept going. I couldn''t afford to be distracted whatsoever. But the thought of them killing me to take me to the witch had just made my heart pound on my chest harder and faster from fear. Sweat was spreading all over my body. Enjoying the story? Show your support by reading it on the official site. Nothing terrified me more than the lycans banging on the door. I didn''t want to look back now and kept going, yet I wondered when it reached the end of the passage. As soon as I turned left, I saw another door which made me sighed out of relief for a while, grinning at it. Then the door burst open and the lycans growled and roared even more than ever before. I pushed myself to head for the door quickly and I heard footsteps chased after me, despite being a bit far away from me. Frowning at the door, I hurried to it and opened it just in time. Once I shut the door behind me, I scanned my surroundings, only to find myself in a cellar room. It was full of nothing but barrels everywhere. The room was quiet and the smell of alcohol was everywhere. I believed I might be in the cellar, and I desperately needed to get to that fountain. With the growls echoing behind me though, that was when I snapped myself out of it and searched for the way to block the door behind me, before the lycans burst into the door as well. Luckily my eyes spotted a couple of barrels standing near the door behind me, making me smile. Perfect! I ran towards the barrel and pushed it before they violently banged on the door. Although it was a bit heavy to push, I still managed to push it without a single struggle. Once the barrel stood in front of the door though, the lycans banged on the door and made me jump and gasped. I walked backwards and watched with my hand standing in front of my mouth. The longer I watched, the more the alcohol spilled onto and spreaded all over the floor. Realizing that I needed to get going, I quickly turned around and ran forward, hoping there would be no werewolves present there. I looked back and forth as I kept running with my breasts jiggling wildly out of control. I had my eyes wander around to see if there were any monsters around. I saw nothing so far and looked back and forth with my fearful face, panting with my mouth open. I looked for anything useful for me to stun the lycans since they were about to burst open that barrel any time soon. I saw none so far until my ears caught some squeaking noise around me. Huh?! Widening my eyes, I scanned for where that noise came from. That sound repeated itself while I searched panicky. Was that a rat?! I moved my candle around for a brief while until my eyes spotted something that shocked me. Gasping, I broadened my eyes and covered my mouth with my hand, stopping myself from moving any further. There were three huge rats standing near one another, glaring and hissing at me with their fangs out, baring their sharp teeth. As they were about to chase after me, the sound of the barrel breaking down was louder so loud it echoed the entire room. After looking back, I returned my attention to the rats and tiptoed my way around them. Unfortunately for me, their ears had caught my footsteps and hissed at me. With the lycans'' growls and footsteps echoing behind me, that was when it was time for me to run. Although I ran my way towards the exit in search of it, the rats began to chase after me. I looked back and forth a couple times to watch the rats caught up to me back and forth, and they were just as fast as those lycans were. Maybe even faster than they were. Who knows? I took a look around for anything to stun the rats and the werewolves from advancing any further. The lycans'' footsteps were echoing louder and getting closer and they were halfway towards me. I was desperate to find anything useful against my enemies. C''mon, c''mon, c''mon! There has to be something useful here somewhere. There has to be. I struggled to find anything in sight, until I finally spotted two barrels halfway towards the door. Although I wondered where that door would lead me, I didn''t have time to think since those rats were about to catch up to me. Once I made it to the barrel, I quickly pushed it down at them and smirked at them, hoping they would think twice about attacking me. The rats widened their eyes when they saw a barrel charging its way towards them. They ran to either side to avoid the barrel and it managed to charge against one of the lycans'' swinging claw to the other side. After seeing it roared at me and dashed towards me, I gasped and shivered with my hand standing in front of my mouth, taking a couple steps backwards. The moment I saw the lycans rush their way towards me with their claws out, that was when I needed to run now before I got killed in the process. Issue #4-Chapter 8 Seeing the lycan chasing after me, I turned to the door behind me and it back and forth, shivering out of fear. I took a couple steps back with a frown and my hands covering my mouth, pressuring myself to get going before I got killed. So I turned around and dashed my way towards the door as my enemy was getting closer to me, hearing its roar. My breasts were jiggling out of control while I ran for the door with my nipples hardened. Once I quickly shut the door, I leaned back against it and scanned my surroundings. I had to go look for something that would block the door from the monster from breaking into the room. I could see a lot of meat lying on the long, wooden table, with some of the blood spilling down from it. Some of them were hung above it. The maggots were all over each meat, eating them all over which disgusted me to see. Clearing no sign of a refrigerator for sure, there were also a lot of wooden cabinets containing some dishes and ingredients along the way. Although silence dominated the air for now, that rotting smell uncomfortably wafted my nose, making me frown. The cool air had given me some goosebumps. Now I searched everywhere to not only block the door''s entrance but also searching for spices in the room. The spices had to be here somewhere, they had to be. And I also hoped those rats weren''t in the room either. I couldn''t stand them going after me either. I was lucky there were no signs of them in the room at all during my search. Moving away from the door, the lycan''s claws scratched on the door, making me turn around and gasping out of shock. I shivered and swallowed my spit when I covered my mouth with both hands. The lycan''s scratches weren''t the only things that I heard. Its colleagues'' footsteps were echoing closer to the door as well. I turned around and wandered my eyes around in search of the spices. I needed to find them and spray them around before I hid in here. So while more scratches leaned the door back, I began my search for those spices in advance. I searched everywhere for them while looking back at the bending door and forth at my destination, and I failed to find anything so far. I was desperate to find them and hide from these monsters. Yet I still couldn''t find any so far, until I finally found the one that I was looking for from one of the counters. Smelling the spices, it smelt like the same one as the one that the old man used. When I heard the lycan''s roar one more time, I turned to the bent door and saw that it was about to break open in just a few seconds. I looked down and even saw the wooden pieces. I turned to and gave the lycans a serious look on my face, dashing towards the door. Looking down at the spices in my hands and the door back and forth, I knew I had an idea in my mind. I sprayed those spices in the hole and that smell spreaded towards my enemies, causing them to screech in pain and stop scratching on the door. As soon as those beasts backed away from the door, that gave me more time to find a hiding place. I searched everywhere for it and I saw a couple mice dashing out of the cabinets at lightning speed, causing me to back away from them with my broadening eyes. ¡°Whoa!¡± Panting for a little while, I turned to the cabinet and the mice back and forth. I was happy those creatures didn''t try to attack me, unlike those rats back in the cellar. I was also lucky those lycans were too occupied with their noses, roaring from the top of their lungs. I didn''t even bother opening up the rest of the cabinets after seeing those mice get out of the kitchen. I turned to the table and wanted to hide underneath the table, yet not only a lot of maggots were lying underneath there but also the incoming growls and footsteps echoing towards the door behind me. With nowhere to hide in the kitchen, I quickly dashed my way towards the door and leaned back against it, panting while having a look around sideways without even moving my head. The lycans roared at me the moment they heard me shut the door, making me shiver a bit. My eyes spotted nothing but the bar counter and a lot of tables full of rotting food on each table. Some of the food was moldy and the others were full of maggots on them. Even some of the alcoholic drinks stood by those abandoned meals. No one was around there. The same smell wafted my nose just as much as it was in the kitchen. Silence echoed in the room around me. Hearing the back door was finally knocked down and the lycans roared from the kitchen, that was my signal of needing to hide from these monsters this instant. Moving my body against the wall, I tried to search for the hiding spot anywhere and sprayed those same spices in my surroundings. I found no hiding place so far. I was desperate to find it, yet I still failed to find it, until I decided to hide by the counter''s outer side and blew the candle out. Reading on Amazon or a pirate site? This novel is from Royal Road. Support the author by reading it there. After those monsters scratched on the door several times, they were finally able to break it down and started searching. Their noses caught the smell of the spices, and they screeched even more in pain, touching their noses and moving their heads sideways. I watched them behind the broken, rounded vase. I made sure the shadows around me hid me well from my enemies. After a while, they patrolled the entire room as I patiently waited for them to leave. But they were patrolling around at a much slower pace than I expected bit by bit. No matter how much I desired them to leave, the more they continued to patrol around, the more impatient I got. Although I wished for these enemies to leave the room entirely, there was nothing I could do to change it since I saw nothing useful around me to get them out of this room. By the time one of the lycans turned to check in my direction, I quietly gasped and hid myself behind the shadows and the pot all at the same time. Staring at it from a distance, I shivered and took a couple of my quiet breaths when I looked up at its glowing red eyes. Its footsteps were echoing closer to me. With sweat forming all over my body a bit, my heart pounded beating faster on my chest from fear. When my eyes were twitching, I hoped I wasn''t caught by that beast. When it stopped near me, my nose absorbed its strange smell. I didn''t know what it was, nor could I describe it. It was this mossy and moldy smell mixed in together. I scanned for any mold on its skin and sawnone. While it was searching for me, it only scanned at the walls around it, not looking behind the pot. It tried to sniff the air for my presence, yet those spices prevented it from finding me through its scent. It growled with its drool coming out of its mouth; it desperately wanted to smell for my scent yet its nose couldn''t, which frustrated it more to the point that it stopped searching for me and turned back the other way. I took a deep breath out of relief while I watched the monster walk away from me. Its footsteps were fading away the more it walked further away from me. One of the lycans roared with one another and exited out of the room at the door on the left, banging on it a couple times. Relighting the candle, it felt safe for me to get out of the shadows and walk away from the pot. After my eyes wandered around a bit, I saw no other door other than the one in the kitchen and the other one on the left. So I turned to the other one and swallowed my spit once more, shivering a bit. I saw both doors completely broken open and the moonlight beam entered the room, casting its light inside alongside the fog. A couple of buildings from the opposite side gazed at me out of curiosity, wondering who I was. Okay, Mara. Time to get out of here and find that water fountain. I slowly headed my way towards it and stood behind the doorway. I smiled out of relief when I saw no lycan in sight on both sides of the road. But it wasn''t the only one I saw. On the left side of the road, I saw something in a further distance. Was it the fountain that the old man spoke about? Well, that was when I was willing to find out for myself. So I walked forward and was on a lookout for any lycans around me back and forth. Although I was happy I didn''t see any lycan in sight for now, I was still cautious about seeing them first hand. I wanted them not to be at that possible fountain over there, yet I wasn''t convinced otherwise until I saw it for myself. Once I arrived there, I stood there to examine the area. I saw no lycan in sight and turned to something right in front of me, not even hearing their growl. Surrounded by buildings and street lights, I actually made it to the fountain after all. With the ravens and crows¡¯ caws echoing above me, they all stared down at me from either the street lights or the fountain. It was covered in moss, vines and cracks all at the same time. Inside the water basin, there was no water inside. Instead it was filled with old coins and rotting corpses which my nose received its bad smell from. The blood stain was all over the fountain and the road, probably committed by the lycans. This was the fountain that the old man spoke about. I now needed to find Aleke and¡Silverus for help. I crossed my arms to cover my chest in case I encountered Silverus in my search for him and Aleke. I turned to the right and hoped that the old man was okay. By the time I returned to the fountain, that was when I decided to search for those survivors quickly. I really hoped that old man survived. I didn''t even know how long I was out here. But that didn''t matter. What mattered was to find those survivors, have Silverus make the potion and take them to the old man. That was all I had to do at the moment. Now I searched everywhere for Aleke and¡Silverus throughout the area, and I haven''t found them so far. I didn''t even shout out their names, fearing that my voice would attract those monsters here. I wondered where they usually go. That old man didn''t even tell me which building they were residing in. What a joke. While I continued searching for Aleke and, uh, Silverus, I heard a loud thud behind me. By the time I turned around though, I only heard the lycan''s roar, a man''s fearful scream, and their footsteps in the distance. I didn''t even see them in sight. It was obvious the fog covered the scene as I stood there, shivering my ass off with my hands covering my mouth. Taking a couple steps back, I surveyed the environment out of hope that no lycan would come in my direction. Then I heard the footsteps behind me, making me quickly turn around. Following the sniffing, then the lycan''s roar, I frowned to know that I was indeed in trouble. I searched for a safe place, yet there was none so far. When the lycan dashed towards me, I lifted up those spices and wanted to spray them in the area, yet my hands were a bit shaky from fear, making me have a difficult time spraying it all the sudden. Issue #5-Chapter 9 I tried everything to make my hands stop being shaky, yet nothing happened. Nothing at all. The monster and its footsteps were moving closer to me, and I was about to have my eyes wander around for a safe place. Then a woman''s voice echoed to my left, saying, ¡°In here!¡± ¡°Huh?¡± I asked and turned to that voice''s direction while I walked backwards. Although I couldn''t find where that voice was coming from, the monster roared at me. The moment I turned back to it, I gasped to see a black silhouette of the monster advancing towards me with its glowing red eyes. It could come out of that fog at any moment now. I pressured myself to spray the spices at the monster whenever I looked down at it, yet it didn''t work out as I wanted it to. I wondered why I wasn''t able to aim straight and sprayed the spices at my large enemy. ¡°In here!¡± The same voice echoed near me. I turned to that voice and wandered my eyes around until they finally spotted her. The door was creaked open. A woman in a black silhouette standing there inside one of the buildings, signaling me to get inside the house with her hand. Turning to the incoming monster and the mysterious woman back and forth. I wasn''t certain if she was Aleke or not, but I definitely didn''t want to be killed and eaten in Pagis, that was for sure. I uncrossed my arms since the person saving my life was a woman. There was zero chance I would face sexual gazes from her, so I felt comfortable. There could never go wrong with that. So I dashed my way inside and the mysterious woman shutted the door. Listening to the monster''s roar, its footsteps dashed our direction and growled while searching for its prey. The mysterious woman blew the candle out and the smoke ascended towards the ceiling for a few minutes. I didn''t bother questioning her why she did that, because I assumed the reason was to prevent the light from attracting that lycan''s attention. The mysterious woman and I just stood and held onto each other. We were surrounded by nothing but darkness in total silence, with barely any moonlight and street light beams entering the room from the window. As I stood next to her, my nose detected her fragrant smell that I couldn''t identify. Wondering what it was, it didn''t really matter at first. All we cared about was avoiding that monster and waited for it to leave the area. Smelling the air, that lycan growled at our door and roared at it, causing me to shiver a bit more than ever before. We were saved by the banging sound beyond this door. We didn''t know what it was but we were thankful that the monster''s footsteps moved away from our door right after its roar. I sighed out of relief. Phew, that was a close one. When the sound of the matching echoed near me, I turned to it as soon as the candle lit the entire room. I looked up at the mysterious woman and just opened my eyes when I gazed at her. I couldn''t believe what I just saw in my own eyes. There was a pale skinned woman that had long, brown hair. I couldn''t see her face as I didn''t know what she looked like. I saw a mole on her neck. The moment she turned her face to me, I saw her ugly face. She had a big nose, enclosed, bushy eyebrows and had some facial hair above her plain lips. I looked down at her clothes and she swore a filthy, worn dress that was duly green in appearance. When I saw her for the first time, I questioned myself why I was reincarnated as a beautiful woman. I was perfectly safe and pretty much happy about my appearance earlier, yet I was reincarnated as a beautiful slut for some reason. I wished I could swap places with her instead. I could''ve been back to normal for all I cared. ¡°Are you alright?¡± Was all that woman asked me. I nodded. ¡°Uh-huh, I''m perfectly fine.¡± ¡°Good.¡± The woman turned the other way. ¡°That¡¯s good to hear.¡± ¡°Um, are you by any chance Aleke?¡± The woman quickly turned her face back to me. ¡°Huh?¡± I tried to repeat the question, yet her hand signal interrupted my speech while shaking her head vertically. ¡°No, don''t repeat the question.¡± She put her hand down and gave me her suspicious look on her face, narrowing her eyes. ¡°How did you know my name?¡± I remained calm and looked her straight in the eye. I needed to get this old man healed from his heart attack. That was my primary goal. ¡°The old man told me about you.¡± ¡°What old man?¡± ¡°The one who was fat with a bald head,¡± I explained, ¡°He didn''t tell me his name, but he saved my life from the lycans earlier and he''s now suffering from a heart attack.¡± Aleke moved her eyes away from me while she was thinking of something. She returned her widened eyes to me when she finally recognized the old man. ¡°Ah, I know him.¡± She turned around and turned her head to me. ¡°Follow me. I''ll take you to Silverus. That werewolf would come here at any moment now.¡± ¡°Oh, O-Okay.¡± I crossed my arms the moment I heard Silverus'' name as I reluctantly followed Aleke. I took a look around and saw the same kind of decor that I last saw when I met the old man for the first time. Except there was no paper or books lying around this time. If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. Aleke turned her head to me while she led me somewhere. ¡°So you''ve recently been trapped here?¡± ¡°Huh?¡± Aleke repeated the question. ¡°Oh, yeah. Of course, I am. I think I''ve been to this place for a couple hours now.¡± ¡°Ah, I see.¡± ¡°How about you guys? How long have you guys been here?¡± ¡°Oh¡that I can''t specify. Probably years.¡± ¡°Oh¡and what''s his name anyway.¡± ¡°Who?¡± ¡°The old man''s.¡± ¡°Oh, right. His name''s Eugene.¡± ¡°Eugene, huh?¡± ¡°Yep, and what''s yours?¡± ¡°I can''t remember my name.¡± I didn''t want Aleke to tell Silverus and Eugene my real name. I didn''t feel comfortable with that at all. ¡°Can''t remember your name, huh?¡± ¡°Nuh-uh. Not at all.¡± ¡°Ah, I see. Well, you don''t need to tell me your name if you can''t remember it.¡± Aleke turned back to her destination. ¡°And we''re here.¡± Although I was relieved to hear what Aleke said, Aleke moved the kitchen ingredients out of the way and pushed a button that blended in with the rest of the tiled wall. The secret door slid itself open to the left and the dust emitted from its opening. When the candle light lit inside the doorway, there was nothing but a stony hallway and the door at the end of it. There weren''t even paintings on the walls. It was just a plain hallway and there was nothing to it. Staring at that door, I knew Silverus had to be in there. There couldn''t possibly be anyone other than Silverus. There couldn''t be. Aleke turned her head to face me. ¡°Ready?¡± I returned my face to hers and nodded. ¡°Uh-huh.¡± I turned back to the door. ¡°Let''s go.¡± ¡°Okay then.¡± Aleke turned her head back to the door and continued to walk forward, leading me to Silverus. Now while I followed Aleke''s lead, I was nervous about meeting Silverus and thought about him lusting after a pretty girl like me. I tried not to allow these thoughts to dominate my mind, yet I failed to get rid of them so far. Sighing quietly, I looked up at the ceiling and instead had memories of my old life before I died. I missed that life dearly, especially my old ugly appearance. When I then turned back to Aleke, I wanted to switch bodies with her. Yet somehow that wouldn''t happen, would it? By the time we got there, Aleke opened the door and we entered the room. I scanned the environment with my broadened eyes and mouth opened in amazement. I saw books and papers lying on the table in the middle and stacked in the bookshelves. There were only a couple crossbows leaning against the other table that was leaning against the wall, where the man was sitting at. A lot of colorful potions were standing near him. The smell and silence spreaded the entire room, and the cold air hitted our skin. ¡°We''ve got another survivor, Silverus. This time, she was sent by Eugene to help,¡± Aleke announced as we walked towards him. ¡°Oh, really?¡± Silverus turned around and looked me in the eye. "You smell good." Although Silverus had silver hair, he appeared to be young and handsome, like in his twenties or something like that. With his eyes examining me behind his lens, there were no crow''s feet on his face and his beard was coming in. He wore his duly brown outfit that was a little torn and several holes all over it. Oh, do I now? I smelled myself and the scent smelled as sweet as roses. That was also strange. While I did wore some perfume back in my old world, I liked wearing black cherries one, not the flowery ones. ¡°And what is your name, miss?¡± Silverus continued. ¡°She can''t remember her name,¡± Aleke answered for me. Silverus turned to Aleke, then back at me. ¡°Oh, I see. And you claim you know Eugene.¡± I reluctantly nodded. ¡°Uh-huh, I do.¡± I explained the same thing as I told Aleke. ¡°Ah, so Eugene''s in trouble, eh?¡± ¡°Yes.¡± Silverus turned to potions on the other table and pulled out certain of them for him to examine closely. He turned back to me. ¡°Alright well, give me a minute and I''ll see what I can do.¡± ¡°Okay,¡± I said. ¡°And I''ll help you out,¡± Aleke said as she was about to walk forward. ¡°Do as you wish,¡± Silverus said without paying attention to Aleke. He was busy making a potion for Eugene. While Aleke walked towards Silverus for help, I just stood there and watched. I uncovered my arms the moment Silverus wasn''t looking at me. I surveyed the room even more and saw nothing in here worth my time. Yet the moment I gazed at the mirror, I turned to the cover standing on top of it and covered it up. Glaring at the mirror, I panted with my mouth open and zoned out as my memories of a beautiful girl named Asha was sexually harassed in school from my old world. I wanted to stop thinking about it but struggled to do so, until Aleke called my name. ¡°Huh?!¡± I turned to Aleke and panted out of fear. I thought she was Silverus by any means, but I was glad it was her. I turned to Silverus and I noticed him staring at me. ¡°Are you alright?¡± I blushed my cheeks the moment he looked at me. I immediately crossed my arms and turned away from him. ¡°Hey, are you okay?!¡± Aleke asked. ¡°Uh-huh. I''m fine,¡± I answered. ¡°Why can''t you answer me, girl?¡± Silverus questioned. I didn''t bother answering Silverus, especially after he looked at me with my low cut exposed. No way in hell I would. After a while of silence, Silverus narrowed his eyes out of frustration. ¡°Well?! Are you going to answer or not?!¡± Then a scream, the banging on the front door and a lycan''s roar all the sudden echoed in the room. I was jumpy a bit and turned around, holding onto Aleke tightly. Aleke just gasped and widened her eyes, also holding onto me tight as well. Silverus turned to us and the sound, getting up from his chair, carrying his crossbow and arrows with him for a look out. ¡°You two stay here while I go check out for anything suspicious outside,¡± Silverus said as he exited the secret room. ¡°Okay,¡± Aleke answered while I just stood by her side and did not say anything to Silverus. I just hoped he survived in time for the old man to be healed. Issue #5-Chapter 10 After waiting for Silverus to return here to continue making a potion for Eugene, I turned to the other table and the doorway towards the end of the hall. The potions were doing fine as usual; they wondered why he hadn''t returned yet. I wondered what was taking Silverus so long. He was taking a long time to check on something outside. Then I turned to Aleke who was leaning against the wall and carried her crossbow. She was being on the lookout for any incoming lycan in here. I could sense the seriousness in her eyes. ¡°Um, Aleke.¡± ¡°Hmm?¡± Aleke turned her face to me. ¡°Do you know what was taking him so long? He''s taking a long time to check on something outside.¡± Aleke returned her attention to the secret doorway. ¡°I have no idea but I bet he was rescuing another survivor.¡± ¡°¡®Rescuing?¡¯¡± ¡°Yeah, rescuing. I just hope he survives¡at least for Eugene.¡± ¡°Yeah¡¡± Whenever I thought about Eugene, I hoped he remained alive just in time for Silverus to heal him. I also wondered how Eugene was doing right now. I hoped no lycan found him. I really hoped not. I swallowed my saliva the moment I thought about it harder. When the sound of the door opening up and the footsteps echoed in our direction, Aleke smiled and carried her crossbow at ease. She then shouted Silverus'' name out of curiosity, and Silverus answered back, adding, ¡°I''m here.¡± ¡°Oh, thank goodness you''re here! We were worried sick about you,¡± Aleke exclaimed. Although I smiled at Silverus'' return, I crossed my arms to prevent him from lusting after me. It was about time too. Just in time to save Eugene. It really is Silverus! Thank God he''s here! Let''s hope we would quickly finish up making this potion and get out of here to meet up with Eugene. Let''s jus'' hope so¡ By the time the footsteps reached the doorway in the distance from us, our eyes had spotted no one other than Silverus. There was no survivor with him and the lamp shone his light upon him. Me and Aleke gasped the moment we saw him covering his hand over his wound. He panted as if death was approaching him. ¡°No¡¡± Aleke dropped her crossbow on the floor and dashed her way towards Silverus. I did nothing but watch Aleke carry him in my direction. I couldn''t believe in my own eyes that Silverus was wounded, but it happened apparently. ¡°Silverus, what happened to you?¡± Aleke asked. ¡°I failed to rescue a survivor on time and three lycans attacked me,¡± Silverus explained, ¡°One of them bastards managed to scratch me while I fought them all off. I was glad to kill them all.¡± Aleke grinned at Silverus even more. ¡°Well, that''s good to hear.¡± She turned to his wound. ¡°Anyway, we better get you healed up and finish that potion for Eugene.¡± ¡°Right on, Aleke. Right on.¡± ¡°Well, I''m glad to see and hear that you''re okay, Silverus,¡± I said when looking at Silverus the moment he and Aleke walked past me. Silverus grinned at me and gave me a nod. ¡°Thank you and I''m happy to be back to see you again.¡± As soon as Aleke leaned Silverus against the wall, I reluctantly took a look around to help Silverus heal from his wound. Yet I had no idea where the first aid kit was. Failing to find it, I bet the first aid kit didn''t even exist in the medieval era, did it? ¡°Aleke, grab me the white potion and a piece cloth at the table,¡± Silverus pointed at the other table when he turned his head to it. Aleke turned to the table and Silverus back and forth, nodding at him. ¡°Alright.¡± I watched Aleke stand up from the floor and searched for as well as grabbed the items that Silverus called for. She took them to him and lifted his shirt up a little. She began to place the droplets of the white potion on a piece of cloth and wrapped the cloth around his stomach, out of an attempt to not only stop the bleeding, but also to heal his wound. Although Silverus was taken back by the sting he felt from his wound, he closed his eyes and opened his gritted teeth. Aleke noticed it and said, ¡°Oh, sorry about that, Silverus. But it had to be done.¡± Silverus nodded his head without even looking Aleke in the eye, and said in his relaxed tone, ¡°It¡¯s alright, Aleke. There''s no need for you to apologize. I can fight off the pain after all.¡± If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. After that, Aleke began to wipe the blood off of him, the walls and the floor. Silverus grinned at Aleke while he watched her clean for a little while. Then he turned back to me and announced, ¡°So in case you''re wondering about the potion, I should be able to finish it once I get done healing, okay?¡± ¡°Okay, and how long does it take to heal you?¡± I requested. ¡°About a few minutes.¡± Well, that''s going to take a bit longer now, does it? I turned to the wall behind me, facing Eugene''s direction. I sighed and frowned at it, hoping Silverus was healed quick enough to make it to Eugene on time, before those lycans would kill him in one swoop. ¡°Relax, I''m sure we''ll get to him in no time,¡± Silverus said when I immediately turned back to him, ¡°I promise.¡± Let''s hope so. After I turned to the wall and Silverus one more time, I just darted my eyes at him. ¡°So how did you guys meet Eugene? When and how did you guys get separated? This was something that Eugene didn''t get a chance to tell me earlier.¡± ¡°Oh, that? Well, that''s a bit of a long story.¡± He then closed his eyes and his cheeks were reddened all of a sudden. I didn''t know why he did that, but I didn''t like it one bit. I narrowed my suspicious eyes at him, hoping he wouldn''t lust after me. ¡°But I''ll be glad to tell a lovely lady like you that though.¡± Aleke stood up from the floor and looked down at Silverus, right after she used the other cloth to wipe the blood off of her hands. ¡°I''ll fetch some water from the kitchen. I''ll be right back.¡± Silverus looked up at Aleke. ¡°Alright.¡± Once she left the room, Silverus turned back to face me. ¡°Okay, now where was I¡¡± He looked up at the ceiling and thought about what he was going to say for a little while. ¡°Oh, yeah.¡± He returned his face back at me. ¡°Now here''s some story time¡¡± When Aleke shouted Silverus''s name, he returned his attention to her. He saw Aleke lean against the wall and she turned in another direction and him back and forth. Panic was written all over Aleke''s face while she panted deeply. Her sweat was forming all over her body, leaking some parts of her clothes. She had no weapons in her hand at the time. Ignoring the ravens and the crowds'' caws above him and Aleke, they were outside standing in the alleyway, surrounded by fog. The cold air hitted their skins, and the smell of death and decay entered their noses. Although lycan''s roar echoed near them, he turned to that sound¡¯s direction and saw a huge black silhouette with its glowing red eyes. Its growl charged against their ears. ¡°We need to hurry! Those monsters are coming this way!¡± Aleke continued in her louder voice. Silverus quickly turned his attention back to Aleke and said, ¡°I know, I know, I know. You don''t have to tell me that!¡± He turned back at the monster charging back at him, aiming his crossbow at him. Looking down at his arrows, he saw his arrows weren''t made out of silver and he wished he had arrows made out of silver. But since he didn¡¯t have any, he was determined to stun the enemy. Remaining calm, he glared at it and narrowed his eyes tightly. ¡°Here goes nothing.¡± By the time he shot his crossbow at his enemy, the monster screeched out of pain and just kneeled down, panting deeply. He looked down at his arrows and saw there were only several of them remaining. Damn, I better conserve my arrows. I''m getting low on ammo here. He turned back to Aleke and pointed his head towards the alleyway. ¡°Let''s get going before that monster chases after us again.¡± Aleke gave him a serious look on her face and nodded, ¡°Okay.¡± Aleke and Silverus turned to the other side and dashed towards the end of the alleyway. They looked back and forth to see if that monster would rise again right after they left the area. They were relieved to see it remained stunned. Yet they ran further enough and stopped running for a second, bending themselves forward and panted. They looked back and still saw no sign of the lycan heading towards them. ¡°Looks like we lost him,¡± Silverus said. Aleke grinned when she gazed at the direction she and Silverus ran from, then turned to him. ¡°Yeah, I think you''re right.¡± She stood up straight while gazing in that same direction. ¡°But we better hide in one of the buildings in this area. That thing could come snap itself out of it and track us down. The worst part of it all was we don''t have the spices to prevent it from tracking us through its scent.¡± Silverus also stood up straight and continued gazing at the same exact direction as Aleke did. ¡°Yeah, I think you''re right.¡± His eyes wandered around to determine which building to enter. ¡°But which building would we stay in though?¡± The moment Aleke turned to Silverus, she watched him search for any building to hide from the lycan. Yet so far they struggled to find one. With crows and ravens'' caws interrupting the silence in the area, all the buildings and street lights stared down at them, glaring at them. There were no lights within each building and the doors appeared to be closed shut. There was blood splattered everywhere, yet there were barely any corpses, or even a living person, around there. They were even relieved to see no werewolf in sight. Silverus and Aleke turned to each building in the area, knocking to see if anybody was inside before opening the door by force. All the doors refused to budge, leaving Aleke and Silverus hopeless. ¡°Oh, you''ve got to be kidding me,¡± Silverus complained when he and Aleke stood by the last building of the area, frowning at it. ¡°Not only no one''s home, but the doors wouldn''t open.¡± ¡°Yeah, I guess you''re right, Silverus,¡± Aleke agreed when she turned to him. ¡°Let''s go to a new area.¡± She turned back to the other direction and saw no lycan coming after them. ¡°We''re lucky that lycan isn''t coming after us.¡± Silverus turned to the same direction as Aleke and grinned out of relief, when he didn''t see the same lycan as they did last time. ¡°Yeah, I guess you''re right, Aleke.¡± He turned back in a similar direction. ¡°Let¡¯s get going.¡± Aleke turned back to him and nodded with a smile. ¡°Okay.¡± As they tried to decide whether they would head back to the same location as before or not, the old man''s scream interrupted them and made them turn around. They widened their eyes and Aleke turned to Silverus and the direction of the old man''s scream back and forth. It sounded like someone was in trouble and they needed to head there for a rescue this instant before someone was killed off and taken to the witch to be eaten. Issue #6-Chapter 11 When Aleke and Silverus dashed towards the direction where the old man¡¯s scream echoed from, the lycan''s roar echoed right in front of them which caused them to be there as quickly as possible. They couldn''t imagine failing to rescue someone in need. And by the time they got there, they stopped moving and slid forward a little, gasping with their eyes widening. They saw an old man lying there while the three lycans were charging after him. He wore some plain, green clothing, was bald headed, and had no weapon with him at that time. He bent forward and panted, probably seeing himself being hurt or something. Now the lycan in the middle was no ordinary lycan. Not only did it have a lot of strange tattoos all over its front body, but also dark gray fur shining under the moonlight and the streetlights. It was exceptionally tall for a lycan, slightly taller than the other two in between. It darted its glowing, purple eyes at the old man. The crows and ravens¡¯ cawing were cheering down at the scene from the street lights. The lycans were halfway towards the old man and raised their claws up in the air, getting ready to strike him. They bared their fangs while they growled at him, with some drool leaking out from their mouths. The old man looked up and gasped when his enemies¡¯ shadows were casted upon him. Silverus glared at the enemies and looked down at his arrows standing beside him. Once he returned his attention to the scene, he pulled out one of the arrows without even looking at them and aimed his crossbow at one of the enemies-the one in the middle. Aleke broadened her fearful, twitchy eyes and shivered with her mouth open, while she gazed at the scene. She then looked up at Silverus and cried out loud, ¡°Silverus, what are we going to do now?! The old man¡¯s about to be killed any minute.¡± Silverus turned his eyes left for Aleke without looking her in the eye. ¡°Aleke, I¡¯m going to need you to check on that old man and take him to safety.¡± He turned his eyes back to the scene and tightly narrowed his eyes. ¡°I¡¯ll distract them away from him.¡± ¡°Ah!¡± Aleke quickly turned back to Silverus and expressed her worried look on her face. ¡°Are you sure about that?!¡± ¡°Just do it, Aleke!¡± Silverus roared impatiently when he shot his crossbow at the one in the middle. ¡°Okay,¡± Aleke said in her calming tone, nodding at Silverus a little although she appeared a bit reluctant at first. Silverus ran away from Aleke and watched the one in the middle screeched out of pain and stopped advancing, kneeling down on the ground. The other two lycans stopped moving and turned to the one in the middle. They watched it pant and its blood oozing from its wound. ¡°Hey there, you bastards!¡± The lycans turned to Silverus'' shout on the left and watched him aimed his crossbow at them. ¡°That''s right! I''ll shoot one of you guys and I¡¯m not afraid to fire another one! So come and get me!¡± As soon as those lycans roared at Silverus, they bounced forward and chased after him. Aleke saw Silverus ran for his life, she turned back to the old man and saw her opportunity to carry him, while the larger one remained unconscious. The old man slowly sat up straight while he gazed at the larger one, still fighting through the pain. The moment she placed her hand on him, he turned his head around and looked up at her. Before she could even lift him up, she noticed a bit of blood oozing from one of his legs to create a little pool of blood. ¡°Here, let me help you, sir.¡± ¡°Oh, well thank you,¡± the old man said while Aleke lifted him up from the ground. Although he was a bit heavy for her to carry, she was strong enough to withstand his heaviness. ¡°Don''t mention it.¡± She and the old man turned to the larger one, and they saw it still unconscious. It panted heavily with its head down, and its blood still oozed from its wound, dripping onto the ground. ¡°We need to take you to a safe place right now before that lycan gets back up and get you healed right now,¡± Aleke added, ¡°Who knows how long that monster would become unstunned again.¡± The old man turned back to the werewolf and Aleke, nodding. ¡°Yes, I guess you''re right. We really do need to get going now.¡± Then her eyes wandered around for a hiding place as quickly as she could, but failed to find anything in sight. Nothing at all. She was desperate to find it as best as she could before the larger one rose back up from unconsciousness, yet the results were still the same. The moment she and the old man heard a couple of screeches from the lycans behind them, they turned around and just saw the fog standing in their way. Aleke gasped as she assumed that Silverus was still alive and managed to stun the regular lycans. This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings. ¡°C''mon, let''s get moving! He should be alive! He had to be!¡± Aleke exclaimed as she moved the old man in her direction as fast as she could. The old man turned to Aleke and raised his confused eyebrow at her. ¡°Um, who is ¡®he¡¯ you''re referring to, young lady?¡± Aleke turned back to the old man. ¡°A friend of mine, the one who saved your life.¡± ¡°Oh, I see.¡± Once the lycan''s roar echoed behind them, they turned their heads to that direction and saw the larger one arose from its unconsciousness. It growled at them and pulled out an arrow from its shoulder, roaring at them with its claws ready. Its saliva escaped from its baring fangs. Aleke and the old man widened their eyes out of shock, opening their mouths. Aleke hoped Silverus came to save them from that lycan''s wrath. She returned her attention to the front out of search for Silverus, yet he was nowhere to be found. The fog blocking her eyes from seeing Silverus in sight didn''t really help calm her heart any better. Hearing the lycan''s roar behind her and the old man, the old man turned around and gasped when its shadow was casted upon them. ¡°The monster''s about to attack us!¡± Aleke looked back and widened her eyes and mouth when she saw the lycan raise its claws up in the air, getting ready to attack her and the old man. ¡°You can''t be serious!¡± Her sweat was forming all over her neck and her heart beated harder and faster. She wondered what was taking Silverus so long and when he was coming to the rescue. He just finished stunning his enemies, so he should come in their direction by now. The reason why he didn''t arrive was beyond her. Aleke swallowed her saliva as she was getting ready to prepare for death. She wished she would move a bit faster than she currently was, but the old man''s injury and heaviness made it nearly impossible to do so. She also wanted to hope the lycans in Silverus'' direction didn''t rise up from unconsciousness, yet she was unsure of that possibility. The old man turned to Silverus'' direction and the lycan behind him back and forth. He opened his bare, gritted teeth as he realized it was too late to be saved from this lycan, this monster. By the time the lycan swung its claws against the old man and Aleke, Silverus'' voice echoed from behind them, shouting, ¡°Eat this, you sack of shit!¡± A large rock slammed itself against the monster''s face and caused it to screech in agony and stopped moving, collapsing to the ground. The rock bounced to the side a bit and bumped into the building wall. Panting, the old man and Aleke stopped moving and gazed at the unconscious lycan for a little while, smiling out of relief. Aleke turned back around and opened her mouth with her continuous smile written on her face when she saw Silverus emerging from the fog unharmed. She shouted his name out of joy and dashed her way to hug him tightly. Silverus widened his eyes and spreaded out his arms a little, looking all confused as he wasn''t used to being given hugs in his whole life. ¡°I¡¯m glad you came here to rescue us. You had me worried there for a second,¡± Aleke cried, moving her head sideways while she leaned her head against his chest. Then Silverus closed his eyes and hugged her softly. ¡°Yeah, I''m glad you two are safe too.¡± ¡°Okay, our reunion is over.¡± Breaking up their hug, Silverus aimed his eyes at Aleke and the old man. ¡°Alright, we better get going and find a place for us to hide. Those monsters could arrive here in any minute. Plus, I''m out of arrows and wouldn''t be able to defend you guys the next time we encountered another one.¡± Aleke returned her eyes to Silverus and nodded a little. ¡°Right.¡± She then turned back to the old man and carried him towards Silverus. She then looked up at Silverus right after the lycan''s roar echoed behind Silverus. ¡°They¡¯re coming! Let''s go!¡± Silverus led Aleke and the old man away from that lycan''s roar behind him, running past the larger one who was still unconscious from Silverus'' attack. He stopped moving and turned around, waiting for her and the old man to catch up with him. He was also on a lookout for the incoming lycan, relieved to not see its silhouette in the fog as of yet. While he led them away from those monsters as fast as he could, he searched for the safe place and failed to find one so far. He looked back and forth to see not only Aleke struggling to catch up, but also the black silhouettes of four lycan''s including the larger one approaching after them. Although they were fortunate enough to be a bit farther away from them, it was only a matter of time for those monsters to catch up to them. Dammit! Those things are about to catch up to us. Silverus scanned for a hiding place and still struggled to find it. I couldn''t go any farther. They''re faster than us! We better break one of those doors if they''re locked tight. But how? He then searched around for anything to burst his way through the door, anything that would force it open, while Aleke and the old man caught up with him. No matter how desperate he was, those lycans continued to chase after them at lightning speed. Whenever he turned his eyes to those monsters, his eyes were broadened, his sweat was forming on and sliding down from his forehead, and his heart pounded harder and faster on his chest, like a hammer banging on something. He wanted to continue searching for anything to help him break into the house, but decided not to and continued searching for a building to open the door, until he finally spotted a door with a blood stain on it creaked open a little. Smiling at it, he turned to Aleke and the old man and grabbed them towards that door just in time to prevent the lycans'' claws from laying on them. He dragged them towards that building with a creaked door opened and slammed it shut, panting and leaning his back against the door. When he looked at Aleke and the old man, he just saw them walking forward away from the moonlight a little. Darkness dominated the room and there was barely any moonlight in there. The moment Aleke searched for anything to light up the room, the monsters began to bang on the door and caused Silverus to back away from it. Issue #6-Chapter 12 Gazing at the door being banged up by the lycans for a little bit, Silverus turned to the old man and Aleke. ¡°We need to search for the spices and the light.¡± ¡°I''m looking for something to light up the room right now,¡± Aleke said while she continued searching for it. ¡°And I''ll try to search for those spices,¡± the old man said when his eyes darted at Silverus. ¡°Okay, good. We need to hurry.¡± Silverus turned back to the door. ¡°Those things could break in at any minute now.¡± While Aleke and the old man searched for items, Silverus just stood there and turned to the survivors and the bending door back and forth for a little while. He hoped his allies would find the things they were looking for quick enough. He couldn''t imagine being killed by those monsters once they''d successfully broken in. They took a while to search for the items due to the minimum moonlight available in the room, struggling to find them so far. Yet the lycans were about to break at anytime, so Silverus began to wander his eyes around for anything to restun his enemies, anything to stop the lycans from getting into the building. But he hadn''t found anything so far, no matter how desperate he was. Dammit, dammit, dammit!!! There has to be something useful against those things somewhere. There has to be. After a while of hopelessness, Aleke finally shouted, ¡°Found it!¡± ¡°Already?!¡± Silverus twisted his body around for Aleke''s attention and saw her bending forward towards the candle, searching for anything to light up the candle at the round table near a corner. ¡°Well, about time!¡± ¡°Here, take this!¡± The old man shouted, spraying the spices at the hole on the door right before those monsters had a chance to break the door open. Silverus turned back to the front and watched the scene while his nose sensed the smell of spices wafting in the air. His ears caught the lycans'' screeches in agony and their footsteps backing away from the door. He grinned at the old man in amazement with his widened eyes. ¡°Hey there, that was amazing, um, uh¡¡± The old man turned around and said, ¡°Call me Eugene.¡± ¡°Eugene¡got it.¡± As soon as Aleke lit up the room and the sound of her breath blowing out a match, she said, ¡°Okay, let''s hurry up and find a hiding place before those monsters come back in.¡± Silverus turned around and watched Aleke place the match onto a candle holder. ¡°Right!¡± He turned to Eugene and Aleke back and forth. ¡°Let''s go!¡± After Eugene nodded, he, Silverus and Aleke began their search for a hideout. Eugene sprayed the spices in the rooms on the first and second floors to prevent the lycans from finding them even further as quickly as he could. Aleke found a secret door in the basement and she, Eugene and Silverus hid themselves from the lycans and Silverus created a potion for Eugene before they agreed on their search for the larger one, thinking it was Alpha the lycan king. During their search in one of the alleyways of Pagis, Aleke turned to Silverus while carrying her crossbow. ¡°So who will we hunt down next as soon as we defeat Alpha?¡± ¡°Ah, we would be hunting down the vampiress inside that castle over there,¡± Eugene said, also carrying his crossbow. ¡°¡®A vampiress,¡¯ huh?¡± Aleke repeated when she and Silverus turned to the castle standing in the distance. ¡°Yes, haven''t you heard? That vampiress was Alpha''s wife,¡± Eugene said. ¡°¡®The Alpha''s wife?!¡¯¡± Silverus gave Eugene his confused look on his face. He turned to the castle and Eugene back and forth. Eugene nodded, ¡°Yes, you heard me right¡¡± He told the tale of Pagis'' curse. ¡°No way, we have to defeat the former monarchs¡¯ daughters and that witch up there?!¡± Silverus questioned, appearing to be less confident in himself. ¡°Yes, that''s right. That''s not only what I heard, but also the only way out of this place.¡± ¡°I see¡¡± Silverus swallowed his spit whenever he gazed at the castle. ¡°And how long have you been here, Eugene?¡± Aleke then asked when she turned to him. ¡°Oh, about a year,¡± Eugene answered while he scanned for Alpha without looking Aleke in the eye for a little while. Then he turned his head back to her and Silverus sideways. ¡°What about you two?¡± ¡°About a month,¡± Aleke responded. ¡°Oh, me? Well, I would say a month and a half, I think,¡± Silverus replied while he looked up at the sky. ¡°Huh, you two have been here more than I am, huh?¡± Aleke said. Silverus turned to Aleke. ¡°Yeah, pretty much.¡± When a man''s scream echoed in front of Silverus, Aleke and Eugene, they all immediately turned around to see what was going on. Even though the fog blocked their view, they aimed their guns out forward and remained calm. They wanted to prevent the lycans from sending their fears and made them weaker. This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it. ¡°Alright, gang. Looks like we got one,¡± Silverus said. ¡°Let''s get moving.¡± ¡°Right!¡± Aleke and the old man agreed as Silverus dashed his way forward in that voice''s direction, hearing a couple of footsteps running in his direction. They followed his lead with their serious looks on their faces. Silverus and his allies ran as fast as they could. Whenever they ran their hearts beated faster and harder on their chests and their sweats were forming all over their bodies. By the time they encountered a man being tripped over by a rock, three regular lycans appeared in black silhouettes darting their glowing eyes at them. They stopped near the panting man and aimed their crossbows at their enemies. This time their crossbows were made out of silver, so they should be able to kill off those monsters, especially the larger one. They managed to rescue the man and kill off their enemies, they not only struggled to fight off incoming enemies but also encountered Alpha who was the strongest fighter of them all. The injured Eugene told them to run for their lives as he figured out how to fight off the monsters and lead himself to safety. Silverus and Aleke were separated from Eugene and never heard anything from him again. ¡°And that''s the story pretty much,¡± Silverus said. ¡°Ah, I see,¡± I asked, ¡°And do you know where Alpha is now?¡± ¡°I have no idea. When Aleke and I returned to the same location where we were separated from Eugene, we found out that Alpha wasn''t there at all.¡± Silverus stood up from the floor, leaning his back against the wall. He appeared to be fighting against the pain. ¡°Hey, are you alright?¡± ¡°Yeah, I''m fine.¡± I looked up and down at him. ¡°Are you sure? You look like you need a few more minutes of healing.¡± ¡°Of course, I am. I should be fine now at least.¡± ¡°Um, okay¡¡± ¡°Anyway, that lycan¡he has to be here somewhere. He has to be. One of our tickets for getting out of this place.¡± ¡°Uh-huh, right...¡± Aleke returned to the secret room and presented a pair of shoes to me. ¡°Here.¡± She looked down at my bare feet. ¡°I noticed that you''re not wearing any shoes at all.¡± I smiled when I gaze at the shoes. ¡°Thank you so much!¡± ¡°You''re welcome,¡± Aleke said. I touched Aleke''s shoulder the moment before she walked her way towards the table. ¡°Wait!¡± Aleke turned to my attention. ¡°Yes? What is it, miss?¡± I leaned towards her ear and whispered, ¡°Um, do you have a new dress and a bra? I can''t stand this outfit that I''m wearing right now.¡± When Aleke took a step back, she examined me and frowned with a nod, telling me, ¡°No, I''m sorry,¡± without sounding it out of her voice. ¡°Oh, I see,¡± I said also without sounding out my voice as well. Aleke grinned at me with still a frown, and watched me cross my arms. She returned her attention to Silverus. ¡°Are you ready to finish up that potion?¡± Silverus watched Aleke point her head at the other table, then back at her. ¡°Oh, yes. Of course, of course. Let''s get it finished then, shall we?¡± So Silverus and Aleke walked towards the other table to finish up the potion for Eugene. Although Silverus was limping a bit, he still fought through the pain and continued on finishing up the potion. I looked down at my feet and put on my shoes. As I was happy I got to try them on, it was unfortunate for me that there was no bra nor new dress for me to wear so far. That meant more searching, I guess. Anyway, I turned around to the wall and stared at it, hoping that the old man remained alive. My worry for him increased through the roof and wondered if he was alright back there, how long had I been here. It had been a while longer than it had been. ¡°Alright, it''s done!¡± Silverus'' voice announced. Crossing my arms, I returned to Silverus and Aleke, seeing Silverus examining a sky blue colored potion while he was holding it up in the air. Finally about damn time. Now we could leave. After that, Silverus put the potion in his pocket and packed up the rest of the potions in his bag. Aleke assisted him in his clean up and I watched them clean up since they were quick enough to get it done so far. Once that''s done, they both turned around and headed for the exit. ¡°Right this way, ma''am,¡± Silverus said while he and Aleke walked forward. ¡°Got it,¡± I said with a nod, following them wherever they went. During our walk, Silverus turned his head to me and asked, ¡°So since you know Eugene, you have no problem leading us there, right?¡± I nodded, ¡°Nuh-uh. I know exactly where I left off.¡± ¡°Good, after we leave this place, we''ll have you take the lead then.¡± ¡°Got it,¡± I said. Once all of us exited the building, I led them the way to Eugene''s location. I uncrossed my arms and walked forward, being on the lookout for any lycan for cover. I was lucky there weren''t any of them around so far and hoped there weren''t any around as of right now. I also hoped the old man remained alive and got him healed soon. I couldn''t imagine him dead once his allies and I returned to that place too late. Yet I wouldn''t allow that thinking to distract me from leading Eugene''s allies to him. Not ever. Not on my watch. By the time we arrived halfway there, a woman''s scream, a lycan¡¯s roar and a slicing sound echoed right in front of us. We all stopped in our tracks and saw nothing in sight, all thanks to the fog blocking our view. I widened my eyes and shivered, wondering what was going on out there. With the dragging sound and the other lycans¡¯ roars now added in the mix, Silverus looked down at me and the sound''s direction back and forth. ¡°Get behind us, ma''am. We''ll deal with those fiends.¡± I looked back at Aleke and Silverus back and forth. ¡°Okay.¡± I ran behind them both and followed their lead throughout our direction, as they walked slowly, ignoring my jiggling breasts. I swallowed my spit and hoped that no one was there. I could feel sweat forming on my forehead and sliding down all over my face, inside my heart began to beat hard and fast on my chest. I hoped these two would be able to fight off these creatures together and not die. I really didn''t want to imagine their deaths in this eerie kingdom. And when we arrived there, I gasped with my hand covering my mouth and my eyes broadened. I saw Alpha standing in between the two lycans who just arrived at the scene, gazing at us the moment we stepped out of the fog. The pool of blood was forming around a female corpse and those lycans growled at us with their drools coming out of their mouths. Aleke and Silverus aimed their crossbows at their enemies right after Alpha roared at us. Authors Note #1 Hi there, reader!
