The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. Think carefully or else you might feel repentance from it.¡¿ "What is this...?" I murmured, my lips parting slightly as I read the first page of the book titled . I couldn''t help but fall into contemplation. Just as I was about to turn to the next page my hand stopped mid-air. My heart pounded fiercely and I couldn''t help sweating unknowingly. I fell into confusion thinking why am i reacting like this. My mind tells me it''s just a book, but my body and senses are warning me that there''s a high chance I''ll regret this, that it will change my life. Thinking of the last part I couldn''t help snorting slightly. My life...is already ruined to begin with. With that thought I took a deep breath before turning to the next page of the book. Then, my life forever changed. ¡ºTragedy will befall and no one is an excemption from "Fate"¡» ¡ºThe "Master of the Cosmos" has awakened from deep slumber¡» Chapter 1: Anguish My name is Kim Su-Jin. Orphaned and often bullied during my military service due to my lack of education and physical weakness, I found solace in the world of web-novels and writing. Despite my circumstances, I excelled in hero of this world. Life was solitary, until the world fell into ruin. On December 19, 2036, our tranquil blue sky bled crimson, and the world as we knew it was transformed. Animals and plants mutated into monstrous beings, leaving a path of destruction in their wake. From my apartment, I watched the world crumble. The government scrambled to gather survivors, constructing bases as safe havens. I was among the fortunate ones who survived. I rejoined the military, but the familiar sting of discrimination followed me. Just when I thought I''d be alone again, three individuals approached me. They were members of one of the top 10 teams completing dangerous B-Class missions. "Oi! You wanna join us?" I stopped eating and looked up to see two males and one female who were familiar because they were always the liveliest group. I swallowed the food I ate before leaving. At the cafeteria once again, without asking for my permission, they sat beside me and one by one introduced themselves. The male who looked like the leader of their team was the first to speak and said "My name is Park Jum, and this is Ahn Shin and Sung Il-yeong." "What''s your name?" I swallowed the food I was eating and did not bother to reply as I just pointed at the name plate on my chest. Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. [''Kim Su-Jin''] "Ah! Su-Jin, it means ''Long Life'' isn''t it? What a wonderful name!" Ahn Shin said with a bright smile. I was indifferent to her words and just silently ate. After that, we started to hang out more together until I was finally able to speak nonchalantly with them. Somehow, as I see Sung Il-yeong and Ahn Shin fighting while Park Jum sighs tiredly, I couldn''t help feeling warm and unconsciously smiled. The moment they saw me smiling, the three of them froze and my smile disappeared immediately and was replaced with confusion. "What''s wrong?" "Su-Jin-ssi! You can actually smile?!" The three of them had the very same question while Ahn Shin blushed and said "Wow! You look really pretty when you smile Hyung!" I showed an indifferent expression to their words before walking forward without looking back. The three of them giggled before catching up with me, shouting "Oi! Wait up for us!" Seeing them bicker while Park Jum sighed in exasperation, i felt warmth in my chest, I couldn''t help narrowing my eyes into crescent moon, smiling. I wished that every day would be always like this. But, Fate had other plans and reality was cruel. The sound of explosions sounded. My friends lay bloodied and broken. They smiled at me, encouraging me to grow stronger, to live on. "Su-Jin-ssi, you bastard, don''t cry you''re a man. Continue to, grow stronger..." Sung Il-yeong said. "Hyung, I, love you..." Ahn Shin spoke softly. "Su-Jin..." "Stop!" I shouted but Park Jum just laughed and still continued. "Stay alive, okay?" Finally, I couldn''t resist anymore and cried out, "Why should I, huh?! How can you say such cruel words when you guys already left me?!" Their words felt like a cruel joke. "Kim Su-Jin!" Suddenly Park Jum shouted my full name and I flinched, he was frowning and said sternly, "Then are you just gonna let our sacrifices go to waste?" "Kim Su-Jin" Park Jum looked at the crimson sky and said "If one day you ever see the stars again, try to think that it is us, watching over you." I fell silent as I watched their hands slowly fall lifelessly. My eyes shook greatly and I couldn''t breathe. What was I feeling? I never knew what love is nor friendship. Is this, how people felt when they are frustrated and lost someone special to them? I couldn''t hold it back anymore. I screamed, releasing my pent-up frustration and sorrow. "Am I, alone again?" Chapter 2: Kismet Eight years had passed, and the world had made significant advancements in creating weapons capable of matching the power of the monsters that threatened humanity''s existence. In this new world, I, Kim Su-Jin, had become the strategist for our base. As we cautiously made our way through the abandoned and dilapidated city, the sound of our footsteps echoed through the desolate streets. Each member of our team held their weapons tightly, ready to defend against any potential attacks. "What do we do now team leader? Shall we keep looking for any possible resources?" One of the team members asked. The captain of our team, Lee Su-hyeok frowned before he looked at me, asking for my opinion. I lazily spoke and said "It''s best to split up for now" Lee Su-hyeok pondered before agreeing and said "Well then, you all heard it, let''s split up into three groups" I found myself paired with two fighters from our team, Sun Beom seok and Park Do. Together, we ventured into the nearest building, a bookstore, in search of anything that could aid us. As we rummaged through the shelves, I stumbled upon a fallen bookshelf. Curiosity piqued, I noticed a peculiar book that stood out from the rest. It had a dark and worn exterior, but intricate golden lines adorned its cover. Intrigued, I picked it up, blowing away the dust to reveal the title: [Kismet]. Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon. The title struck me as peculiar, as most would have simply used the word "Fate" instead of "Kismet." I stared at the book intently, contemplating its significance. Just as I was about to open it, Park Do called out to me, breaking my concentration. I decided to put the book in my bag and join my teammates. .... Returning back to the base we did not encounter any monsters fortunately and I and Lee Su-hyeok reported to the leader of the base. Afterwards we went back to the hallway. As we walked I took out the book and stared at it while walking. "You really are a bookworm, even amidst the chaos you still have the time to pick up a book" Lee Su-hyeok chuckled. "Hm" I just hummed in reply. Arriving at my office, I settled into my comfortable chair and placed the book on the table. Stretching my limbs and taking a deep breath, I prepared myself for what lay within its pages. Opening it, I began to read the lines inscribed on the first page, immersing myself in deep contemplation. The words on the page spoke of how one''s demise is not solely determined by their own actions but rather by "Fate" itself. It emphasized that even as the reader, we are bound by the threads controlled by "Fate," regardless of any attempts to alter our destiny. The passage warned of the consequences that accompany every decision made, urging careful consideration to avoid future regret. I couldn''t help but murmur in confusion and fascination, finding the book''s contents both intriguing and unsettling. As I prepared to turn to the next page, a sudden unease washed over me, causing my hand to freeze in mid-air. My heart raced, and perspiration formed on my brow. I couldn''t understand why I was reacting this way. Logically, it was just a book, but my instincts warned me of the potential life-altering consequences that awaited me. A slight snort escaped my lips as I considered the notion. My life was already in ruins to begin with, so what harm could this book possibly bring? Memories from eight years ago flooded my mind, causing an involuntary frown to appear on my face. With a deep breath, I turned to the next page. What I read next shook me to the core, filling me with horror. ¡¸In the world , year 2036, a hydro dragon will appear and massacre countless of lives from the surface of the world. The names of the people who''ll perish are: Ethan Mccarthy, Ye Yexio, Nakamura Yuki, Tanaka Sasaki, Lily Anderson-...¡¹ Then, I''ve read three names that made my world shattered. ¡¸...Sung Il-yeong, Ahn Shin, Park Jum...¡¹ ¡¸These people are the ones destined to die by the hands of the hydro dragon designed by "Fate"¡¹ And all of what was written here, had already, and actually happened, exactly eight years ago. Chapter 3: Walkers Overwhelmed by a surge of fear, I stared wide-eyed at the monstrous three-headed hydro dragon. My body shook uncontrollably. Park Jum, ever the comforting presence, patted my shoulder, his gaze fixed firmly on the beast. His grip on his giant shield was unyielding. "Don''t worry," he reassured, "We will get past this." Suddenly, a loud ''boom'' echoed around us. The chilling voice of my comrades resonated in the air, "Su-Jin-ssi...forgive us...Goodbye...Su-Jin..." My head throbbed with pain as I clutched it tightly. The haunting memories of the past were relentless, invading my dreams and my waking thoughts. ¡¸...Sung Il-yeong, Ahn Shin, Park Jum...¡¹ ¡¸These people are the ones destined to die by the hands of the hydro dragon designed by "Fate"¡¹ "Fate?" I whispered, my voice barely more than a rasp. My body quaked, lips trembling as my eyes wavered, a tell-tale hint of red at their corners. Veins traced a stark pattern on the back of my hands, a physical manifestation of my inner turmoil. Breathing became an effort, a struggle akin to the one I experienced eight years ago, only magnified now. I sought solace in the darkness behind my closed eyelids, leaning back to draw in a deep, steadying breath. ''This can''t be real...it simply can''t be...'' I fought against accepting the truth, convincing myself that it was merely a desperate cry for attention from an unknown source. I yearned to reject it, to dismiss it outright, but... My frown deepened, teeth grinding in frustration as I forced myself to continue reading the book. The more I read, the more my reality seemed to blend with the narrative. The book didn''t just know everyone''s secrets, it painted my past with an uncanny accuracy, as if it was the author of my of the world itself. No, it was not just the world. As I read further, I found that it not only tells about the world ¡¸Earth¡¹ but also other worlds that I don''t find in the solar system. No, to be more precise, another dimension. ''This...'' I stared intently at the book and couldn''t help thinking, ''Is this really, the true ¡¸Kismet¡¹?'' Before I could delve deeper, the ground shook violently, throwing everything into chaos. I stumbled, holding onto the wall for support. Then, I saw it - a gigantic crack in the crimson red sky, and from it descended three human-like entities. Just then the one on the right flicked their finger before three bright orbs suddenly appeared and scattered in the sky, and from it, we heard their voices clearly no matter how far away we are. Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on the original website. ¡ºEarthlings, listen closely to what we are about to say¡» Many people had already moved as they spoke and pointed their guns and cannons at them but to their surprise, the entities had no reaction and were indifferent. They continued, ¡ºWe, are the ¡¸Walkers¡¹, and we seek something that is said to be found in this world¡» ¡ºThe one we are looking for, is called ¡¸Kismet¡¹¡» Hearing this my eyes widened. ''What?'' I glanced at the book and a thought flashed in my mind, ''It''s real'' Then, as I turned my gaze back to the entities called ¡¸Walkers¡¹, our eyes suddenly met and I shuddered greatly, feeling cold all over my body. Without a second thought I moved and packed my things inside my hang bag. Then... ''Boom!'' Behind me the entire wall exploded and I crouched down. Then as I slowly turned around I met a frightening scene. Behind me, all of the people along with the walls and buildings were destroyed as if it was ran over by something gigantic. It started from beneath the ¡¸Walkers¡¹and ended behind me. There was only one thought in my mind at this moment. ''Run!'' Immediately I stood up and ran outside with my bag. The ¡¸Walkers¡¹smirked before they all flew towards my direction at the same time. "Fire!" ''Bang!'' ''Bang!'' The cannons and guns all were triggered directly towards the ¡¸Walkers¡¹ but with just a sway from their hand, all of the people were thrown away. "Monster! They''re Monsters!" "Retreat!" Everyone panicked and ran whether they are soldiers or citizens they all fled away in horror. I fled in the opposite direction and continued to run and run without looking back. In the ensuing chaos, I ran. I ran until my lungs burned, until my legs felt like jelly. ''Why?'' Not long after I got out of the base and still continued to run. Despite all my efforts, I can still hear and sense that the ¡¸Walkers¡¹ are just right behind me. One of them raised their finger and pointed at me before a beam of light appeared and shot at my direction. I turned to the side and barely dodged it. As I rolled on the ground I gritted my teeth and continued to ran. ''Why?'' ''Why is this happening to me?'' Then, I reached a cliff. I panted as I stood at the very edge. Hearing the sound of people landing lightly on their feet I knew that it''s the ¡¸Walkers¡¹. They then spoke, ¡ºHmph! You dare try to outrun us with your weak body? How laughable!¡» ''Weak?'' ''Until now, why am I still being called that?'' ''I know, compared to you ¡¸Walkers¡¹, I''m just a weak human who is far inferior compared to others...'' ''But!'' ''Why? Just why?!'' Seeing me not speaking the ¡¸Walkers¡¹laughed and reached out their hand as they said ¡ºHand over the ¡¸Kismet¡¹right now¡» I was silent before I took a deep breath, reaching my hand inside the bag I took out a book and turned around. "Here" I threw the book towards them. They all scoffed before the ¡¸Walkers¡¹in the middle pointed his finger at me. Then, a beam of light appeared and before I could react, it pierced right through my chest. Slowly, I fell off the cliff but, the ¡¸Walkers¡¹, for a moment saw me smiled and just as they were confused I already disappeared from their sight. ¡ºWhat a wierd earthling¡»they muttered and just as they picked up the book and turned it around, they widened their eyes in horror before screaming ¡ºNo!¡» The book I threw, was not the ¡¸Kismet¡¹but a book that I recently have been reading since there is no longer any web-novels to read. The ¡¸Walkers¡¹walked to the edge but found that my body couldn''t be seen anymore in the dark void. ¡ºHow dare that earthling!¡» ¡ºTsk, we''ve been fooled¡» The three of them looked at each other with a frown before one of them asked ¡ºWhat do we do now?¡» The leader of them, the one who was in the middle, looked down at the void before they said ¡ºLet''s keep searching for it, no matter if it is in the deepest part of the world¡» .... As I fell, I clung to the ¡¸Kismet¡¹, my mind a whirlpool of thoughts. ''How pitiful,'' I thought to myself, ''In the end, I''m nothing but a weak, pathetic being, destined to meet a pathetic end.'' I wondered, if given a second chance, could I alter my fate? Slowly, I closed my eyes, the smiling faces of my friends flashing before me. Their voices echoed in my mind, calling out to me. - Su-Jin-ssi! - Hyung! - Su-Jin! ''I''m sorry, everyone,'' I thought, ''I discovered the truth behind your deaths, but I was powerless to change anything.'' As consciousness slipped away, my body went numb. ''So, this is it,'' I thought, ''Goodbye.'' But just when I was on the brink of hitting the bottom of the void, a figure with giant, angelic wings appeared, cradling my body in their arms. ¡ºWhat a pitiful creature indeed¡»the entity chuckled, ¡ºYou want to know the true reason behind your friends'' deaths, don''t you?¡»They continued, ¡ºThen, I shall grant you a chance. But remember, don''t lose sight of your goal, and most importantly, don''t lose your sanity.¡» ¡ºThe "Angel of Mysteries" has bestowed their ¡¸Blessing¡¹ upon the epitome "Kim Su-Jin"¡» Chapter 4: Beginning ''Ah...where, am I?'' I became confused and my mind was hazy, my vision was blurry, and my body felt numb. As I blinked I faintly saw the three figures of my friends, I can hear their cheerful laughter and subconsciously reached out my hand towards them. ''Wait...'' ''Don''t, go...'' Darkness engulfed me. Then, I woke up. .... Feeling the coldness all over my body I shivered and opened my eyes abruptly. I panted heavily and clutched my chest, as if woken up by a nightmare. I was then greeted by a dark sky filled with starlight. ''Stars...?'' After the sky turned crimson blood red, night never came anymore and so are the stars. I stood up staggeringly and reached forward my hand towards the sky. Three stars that are together shone down brightly upon me. "Sung Il-yeong, Ahn Shin, Park Jum...is that you guys?" ''Swoosh'' The sound of winds whispered in my ears and my clothes fluttered. Suddenly I sensed something wrong that made me unconsciously frown. I looked at my body and found that I was wearing a normal white t-shirt and black pants. I then looked at my hand and found that there was no colossus, it was pure and clean as if it had never held a weapon before. I looked at the surroundings and found broken trees everywhere without any form of life. I saw a puddle of water and hesitantly walked over. Then as I peeked at my reflection I froze. What was reflected on the water was not my familiar face with black hair and eyes, instead the youth in the mirror had fluffy white hair with contrasting coloured eyes, on the right was blue while on the left was green. ''Who, is this?'' Slowly I raised my hand and touched my face which the youth on the reflection did so. I pinched myself and felt a stinging pain which proved that it is not a dream. What''s more... ''Shouldn''t I have died?'' Countless of questions flooded in my head in an instant. ''Did my appearance changed or, did I possessed this body?'' It felt surreal but after experiencing countless of unbelievable situation such as having the world destroyed and encountering another entity, it felt like anything is possible. Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. Just as I was pondering I felt a tug in my heart which made me groan in pain. I turned around and found that there was a familiar book lying on the ground. I frowned as I walked over towards it. Picking it up with a solemn face I held it tightly. ¡¸Kismet¡¹ This is the book those ¡¸Walkers¡¹want. If they are so desperate for it, that means this is much more precious than one might think of. What''s more, the ¡¸Walkers¡¹said that they are ''Looking'' for it which meant that it is not there''s to begin with. That means there are also other entities that are searching for it. With that thought my mood became more solemn. I looked at my hand before clenching it. ''I''m still too weak. Without a doubt, they could easily take this away from me, and if that happens then-'' - Su-Jin-ssi! ''-Then I wouldn''t be able to find the true reason behind my friends death.'' Just as I felt devastated, a sudden burst of pain came from my head and I dropped the book as I clutched my head with both hands, falling to my knees and screaming. The pain was so much that it made my senses numb. Then, countless of blurred images appeared in my mind that were not mine. Later on, after what felt like eternity passed, the pain finally subsided. Breathing heavily, sweat dripped down my forehead. ''What...was that just now?'' ''Were those, the memories of the original owner of this body?'' After thinking of this, I pieced out everything together and finally got some information. The original name of this body was ''Light Keiran''. He is from this world called ¡¸Nishat¡¹, a forsaken world. This world used to be peaceful and beautiful but after some catastrophe, the world fell into ruin. And he, Light Keiran, was the sole survivor of this world. Now that I took over his body, I wonder what happened to the soul of Light Keiran. What''s more, it seems that not just in this world, but also in other worlds, the entities living there has abilities similar to superpowers that I''ve read in novels. I wonder, how can I know my abilities. I closed my eyes and tried to recall the memories of Light Keiran and found what he did to activate his abilities. Opening my eyes I took a deep breath and sat down. Then I spoke, "Status Window" Surprisingly it worked and a holographic blue screen appeared before me with blue auras around them where I could feel the mana of magic. ¡¾Status¡¿ ¡¾Name¡¿: Light Keiran (Kim Su-Jin) ¡¾Age¡¿: 27 ¡¾Species¡¿: ¡¸Fallen¡¹ ¡¾Occupation¡¿: ¡¸Reader¡¹ ¡¾Titles¡¿: (None) ¡¾Chronicles¡¿: 0 Seeing this I was slightly confused, what do they mean about the ¡¾Chronicles¡¿? What''s more, what is my species? I''m not a human? As for the occupation, I could vaguely guess that it has something to do with the ¡¸Kismet¡¹. Holding my chin I narrowed my eyes as I stared at the name, that means I have two identities. One as my true self, Kim Su-Jin, and the other is as the body I now possess, Light Keiran. As for the rest, it does not matter to me. Now, let''s see what my abilities are. ¡¾Skills: ----- ¡¿ ¡¾Skill¡¿: ¡¸Appraisal¡¹ ---Description: Allows user to see the ¡¾Status¡¿ of a living being. ¡¾Skill¡¿: ¡¸Sound¡¹ ---Description: Allows user to affect a living being only by using word and sound from their voice and mouth. ¡¾Skill¡¿: ¡¸Time and Space¡¹ ---Description: Allows user to control Time and Space. Seeing my skills I was stunned, aren''t these too powerful? Then my eyes landed on the last skill which was called ¡¸Time and Space¡¹where in the description says it can control time and space itself. But what exactly did it mean by that? How can I possibly control the time and space? I furrowed my eyebrows unconsciously. Knowing that I wouldn''t get the answer for now, I sighed and stood up as I picked the ¡¸Kismet¡¹. Looking around I wondered if Light Keiran just slept on the ground like this everyday. But, knowing that there is not a single life form in this world then, how will I survive from hunger. I then found that in the memory, Light Keiran never ate, it seemed that time here does not flow and so there was no need to eat nor will you experience hunger. Hmm, how interesting. I stared at the sky and was lost in thought. ''With this newfound power, will I ever get to bring justice upon your death?'' The three stars shone more and more as if blinking and answering me. My lips parted slightly before curling up into a smile. ''Then...'' Standing up I held the ¡¸Kismet¡¹and spoke in a resolute voice. "I shall destroy Fate, I will, no matter where or no matter how long, i will find the reason for your death, and bring justice" "Just wait for me, Sung Il-yeong, Ahn Shin, and Park Jum" "I will alter this so called fate" Chapter 5: Time and Space ¡¾Date: Unknown After arriving in this world, I found many things, especially about the ¡¸Kismet¡¹. In different worlds and different races, there are representatives known as the ''Protagonist'' and in my world, ¡¸Earth¡¹, it was a person named Kai. It is said that in 2389, the protagonist from each race will be gathered. It was not said what''s the purpose for it but I have a theory. My theory is, that we''ll have to prepare for something big.¡¿ Re-reading my book I sighed and looked up at the starry sky, how long have I been here? I''ve been alone in this world ever since then, completely immersed in the ¡¸Kismet¡¹that I haven''t had the time to think about other things. I was correct that time does not flow in this world and that I wouldn''t feel hunger. I hadn''t had the time to practice my power since it only works on living things whereas now I am the only living entity in this world. Now that I''ve gathered as much as information as I can, what shall be my next move? I''m certain that it is not only the ¡¸Walkers¡¹who are after the ¡¸Kismet¡¹but also other entities. So first, I''ll need to be able to hide it from the sight of everyone. But the question is though, how? Just as I was pondering, the book in my hand suddenly vibrated which startled me. Then, it suddenly deformed into liquid. I was left stunned before an idea came through my mind. Placing my hand above it, I uttered a word. "Brush" Surprisingly, my thoughts were correct and the book suddenly transformed into a brush. I widened my eyes slightly before I curled my lips, interesting. Taking out the diary and ripping a piece of paper from it, I layer it on the ground and started writing a word on it. ¡¾¡¸Earth¡¹¡¿ After writing this, black lines started appearing from it magically and information about ¡¸Earth¡¹from the ¡¸Kismet¡¹appeared. "Hm, how convenient" I mumbled. Spinning the brush on my fingers I played with it for a while before I tore apart the paper until it was only ripples. This is just some measurements unless another person sees this. Putting the brush inside my bag I stood up and sighed. ''It''s time to explore again'' .... A very long time passed until I could remember all of the descriptions and words in the ¡¸Kismet¡¹. This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it. I felt powerless and tired internally, I looked up at the starry sky and wondered what I''m supposed to do now. I sat on the ground and heaved a deep sigh. Closing my eyes I then begun to meditate and continued to look for a way to activate my power ¡¸Time and Space¡¹. I''ve done many ways and yet not a single one had worked so far. This time I took a deep breath and formed a gesture with both of my hands overlapped on each other, then with a tilt of it I opened my eyes and spoke with determination. Unbeknownst to me, my eyes shone at that time and with a single gesture of my hand, I spoke in a mechanical voice, ¡ºActivate, ¡¸Time and Space¡¹!¡» Suddenly the surroundings turned all black with stars all over as if I was in space. My body floated and felt light as a feather. Then my eyes reflected blue holographic screens before me. The blue screen before my death suddenly flashed in my mind when it gave me an option whether I want to have a second chance or not and that''s when I accepted and chose the ¡¾Yes¡¿option. ''Are they the same?'' I wondered. ¡¾Abyss¡¿¡¾Nishat¡¿¡¾Earth¡¿¡¾Helios¡¿¡¾Pluto¡¿¡¾Nevaeh¡¿¡¾Chaos¡¿. Different worlds appeared around me and I couldn''t help being astonished. I was silent and didn''t know what to do. Unconsciously my gaze fell on ¡¾Earth¡¿and I touched it. Then, nine ¡¾Earth¡¿appeared as the rest disappeared. That''s when I found out that these nine ¡¾Earth¡¿are the same but has different time lines and universe! This shocked me to the fullest and I faintly saw in one of those worlds, was the time when my friends died. My eyes widen in horror and I saw myself mourning over their corpses. I clenched my fist and gnashed my teeth.''So this, is the ¡¸Time and Space¡¹.'' I looked at the nine ¡¾Earth¡¿before I reached our my hand hesitantly, then, swiped it to the side which then returned back to showing different worlds. ¡¾Transitioning between different worlds necessitates the individual to successfully complete a challenge presented by the "Keeper" of the ¡¸Door¡¹. This ''Gateway'' serves as the conduit, connecting the myriad of worlds that exist beyond our own.¡¿ Reading this I was confused and muttered, "Where could I find this ¡¸Door¡¹?" As if answering to my question, another blue screen appeared and replaced the former one. ¡¾Only an individual with a "Title" given by the world itself can enter and find the ¡¸Door¡¹along with other individuals they would like to bring along¡¿ I sighed as I read this and thought ''So I wouldn''t be able to enter other worlds and will be stuck in this world forever?'' ''Then what am I supposed to do now?'' Clicking the world [Nishat]and it showed eight [Nishat]instead of nine which made me curious about the reason. I scrolled all eight of them until I found a timeline where there was another person other than Light Keiran in it. "Can I enter this timeline?" "Afterall technically it said different worlds but not timeline isn''t it?" There wasn''t any response for a long time before suddenly I heard a loud beeping sound and a blue screen popped up. ¡¾Would you like to enter ¡¸Nishat¡¹3.7 timeline?¡¿ ¡¾Yes¡¿¡¾No¡¿ I was unprepared that it would be so easy to enter another timeline but quickly dismissed it and took a deep breath. ''Well, here it goes'' With a sigh I pressed the ¡¾Yes¡¿option before i lost consciousness. The moment I woke up I was in the familiar yet different desolate world ¡¸Nishat¡¹. Just as I sat up and groaned a sharp cold metal was placed against my neck and my body became stiff as a cold voice sounded behind me. "Who are you?" I held my breath and did not intend to make any rash movements. Slowly I raised both my hands in a surrendering posture and slowly turned my head towards the person behind me. Then, my breath became unstable slightly. Above his head shown was his status. ¡¾Name¡¿: Choi Kwan There was only one person who had this name who has a title and great status, it was none either than the protagonist of the world ¡¸Abyss¡¹, Choi Kwan! Chapter 6: Meeting One of the Protagonists ¡¾Status¡¿ ¡¾Name¡¿: Choi Kwan ¡¾Age¡¿: 25 ¡¾Species¡¿: ¡¸Human¡¹ ¡¾Occupation¡¿: ¡¸Swordsman¡¹ ¡¾Titles¡¿: ¡¸Star Chaser¡¹ ¡¾Chronicles¡¿: 1 Seeing his status i was bewildered and at the same time, curious. He became known as the ¡¸Star Chaser¡¹because of his resolute will of chasing stars. This title was also given to him by the world ¡¸Abyss¡¹because of his ability. ¡¾Skill¡¿: ¡¸Starlight¡¹ ---Description: Allows user to wield a sword that can emit stars and also replicate it''s power. Reading the description I couldn''t help sighing inwardly with jealousy. ''It must be a beautiful ability to be able to emit stars'' Thinking of this I couldn''t help looking at the starry sky once more completely forgetting the fact that a blade was against my neck. ''Drip'' Crimson blood dripped from the wound on my neck. Choi Kwan was flabbergasted by my actions and unconsciously stepped back as he slightly retracted the sword. I mumbled something underneath my nose as I stared at the stars before looking back at Choi Kwan. For some reason even when facing death I was calm and my breathing was stable. I stared straight into his abyss black eyes before I spoke, "Light Keiran" "What?" Choi Kwan was stunned and I repeated my words, "Light Keiran, that''s my name" Choi Kwan furrowed his eyebrows and stared at my intently as if searching for some flaws but also failed. After some contemplation, he sighed before putting back his sword in the scabbard. Reaching out his hand towards me he introduced himself, "I''m Choi Kwan, forgive me for the rude behavior just now" I stared at him for a second before I grabbed the hand and stood up. "It''s fine" I spoke nonchalantly. "What are you doing here?" He asked with great confusion on his face but at the same time, has doubt and vigilance. I opened my mouth slightly and wanted to say something but in the end swallowed back my words and instead showed a bitter smile, "This is my home" Hearing this Choi Kwan widened his eyes slowly before he apologized to me. I shook my head and said "It''s nothing". Choi Kwan narrowed his eyes and wondered, ''I heard that this world had long been since abandoned and not a soul was left alive, so how come there is a survivor?'' While I was patting my clothes he stared at me and thought ''Something''s amiss about this person...'' If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. ''Let''s see first what he wants to do'' Choi Kwan recalled as he walked he vaguely saw a blurred silhouette of a person in the distance, lying on the floor. Then the moment he reached that figure, he saw a strange person who has a unique and different appearance from the normal. Then the person moved and got up. And this is where it led to. Choi Kwan furrowed his eyebrows and I looked at him with an indifferent expression, "Now, will you tell me why you are here then?" Choi Kwan fell into contemplation whether if he should tell the truth or hide it. In the end he heaved a deep sigh and decided to choose the former. "I was searching for something and fell here" His words sounded unbelievable but I knew that what he is saying is the truth. "Then, did you find what you are looking for?" He shook his head in dismay and spoke in a disappointed tone, "No..." I just nodded my head and said "I see" Then silence befell on us and the atmosphere turned awkward. Well we aren''t close anyway so there''s no need to prolong this anymore. I immediately got straight to the point and did not hid my intention anymore. "Do you- know how to travel to another world?" This made Choi Kwan''s heart skip a beat and the hand holding the hilt of his sword tightened. I still remained with a calm expression and motioned for him to speak. "So you do know huh..." I mumbled. Choi Kwan frowned and instead of answering, asked, "What do you want?" Hearing this I curled my lips. "I want to go to a different world" "What...?" He was slightly surprised and I continued, "You see, I have a goal...and that goal requires for me to travel to different worlds. And as you can see-" I shrugged nonchalantly and said with a smile "I don''t have any titles to be able to enter the ¡¸Door¡¹." Choi Kwan fell silent and asked, "Goal?" I smiled bitterly and nodded, I looked up at the starry sky and said "Goal, ambition, desire...all of it, every single person had such things inside of them. And those things were the reason I have a purpose now" Choi Kwan listened to my words and fell into deep silence. I tilted my head towards him and said, "My goal is to bring justice upon my friends death" Hearing this Choi Kwan widened his eyes, he stared straight into my contrasted coloured eyes and couldn''t find any lies within it. In the end silence once again befell on us. After some long consideration, Choi Kwan heaved a deep sigh before speaking the truth. "Yes, I can enter and exit the ¡¸Door¡¹as I please" "Naturally I''m not from this world, I''m from ¡¸Abyss¡¹, a ruined world similar to this" ''But unlike my world, there are still living individuals'' He thought silently and did not speak it out. "Then may I ask you for a favor?" I asked which made Choi Kwan slightly furrow his eyebrows knowing already what I want to ask. Still, he replied with a "Yes". "Can I enter your world?" My words made Choi Kwan bewildered and asked "My world?" I hummed in response and said "Just this one time, I need to acquire a title and so I needed to enter my very first world in that case if i want to travel through different worlds" Choi Kwan was hesitant. Then, he asked, "Why should I help you?" I smiled when I heard this, I knew Choi Kwan was a good person the moment I met him. But I wouldn''t tell him this and instead said "Let me enter your world and in return-" With a grin I said "-I can help you give light to the ¡¸Abyss¡¹" My words sounded unpredictable and surreal that it made Choi Kwan stunned on the spot. Then he laughed angrily and said "How can you, a mere no one can do to give light when even I and the other people with title can''t?" Ofcourse even I don''t have the courage to claim such a thing but, I''ve read something in the ¡¸Kismet¡¹that might be able to help the ruined world ¡¸Abyss¡¹. I spoke truthfully and said, "Although I cannot guarantee such, still I can at the very least help a village in that world to gain light" Choi Kwan stared at me intently, ''How can he have such confidence?'' He thought and frowned unconsciously. ''Is he not ordinary?'' He wondered for a long time before he sighed deeply and looked at me straight in the eyes. "If I find that you are lying I''ll-" "-kill me? Sure, go ahead" I spoke with a gentle smile. "You-..." He seemed to want to say something but in the end swallowed his words before reluctantly agreeing. "Alright" As he said this he turned around and with a wave of his hand a gigantic double door suddenly appeared! The door was etched with ancient symbols that was deeply embedded on it. I widened my eyes in astonishment as I thought ''So this is a ¡¸Door¡¹'' Then, the door opened and just as we were about to enter I stopped and said "Wait" Choi Kwan turned to look at me with a questioning look and I smiled embarrassed and said "Please don''t call me by my real name, call me-..." I pondered before saying "...Constellation". Chapter 7: Another World: ã€Abyss】 "Constellation?" Choi Kwan raised an eyebrow seeming to be confused but I just smiled and walked passed him. "Shall we enter then?" Choi Kwan looked at me before sighing and said "Yes. Let''s enter" Afterwards, we finally entered as the door behind us closed. The next thing I knew I was in an endless darkness without any sense of light that I could hardly see myself. I was silent and confused before I heard Choi Kwan speak. "We''re here" ''Here?'' I became lost in thought before suddenly figuring it out. The world that was named ¡¸Abyss¡¹probably had it''s reason for being named such. ''Abyss, it means endless darkness'' ''Is this the reason why they named it like that?'' Just as I was pondering, Choi Kwan unsheathed his sword before swinging it in the air. ''Swoosh'' Suddenly, a speckle layer of stars that shone more brighter than the moon appeared. I widened my eyes slightly, astonished. ''So this is his ability huh?'' ''It''s beautiful'' But just as I thought of that word, I lowered my head only to see something horrifying. At the lower part was a black spider body while the upper had a human form, contrast to the color of it''s lower part, it''s skin is pale white and it''s hands are sharp spikes. It has no eyes or nose, only a sinister mouth that always smiles with long tongue and sharp teeth that could easily pierce through flesh. It was something horrifying, not to mention that I never encountered such a terrifying looking monster before. ''What is that?!'' As if being able to read my thoughts Choi Kwan spoke nonchalantly, "It''s called Killian which means blind" ''What a befitting name'' I thought and looked at the Killian monster. I then narrowed my eyes and thought, ''Although it may be blind, it is still a monster that can harm and kill'' Hearing Choi Kwan speak the Killian turned to look at our direction before it''s shriek loudly and hissed at us. I pondered on what to do as it charged towards us but unexpectedly or not, Choi Kwan nonchalantly unsheathed his sword and with a dash he swung his sword. ''Shing!'' In a blink of an eye, Choi Kwan passed through the Killian as it''s body was split in half. Green ooze splattered everywhere from it''s internal organ. I was stunned, so this is the power of one of the protagonists, no wonder they are called one as such. I then recalled the life of Choi Kwan from the ¡¸Kismet¡¹. He was also an orphan just like me but grew up in a church and was a believer of the goddess of light. His village was brutally massacred by the monsters that appeared and was abandoned by the capital. He seeks justice and also bore hatred towards the capital and everyday trained in the wilderness, hunting for food, training to get stronger, and eventually, became a swordsman that could surpass others. He truly lived a life of a protagonist, having such determination and success. I envy him... Unlike me, who is powerless and physically weak, he can surpass his own limits. The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident. Hearing his voice made me come back to my senses as we started walking forward. Apparently we were teleported to a forest known as the Dark Forest where high level dangerous monsters lived and roamed. This is also the place where Choi Kwan had trained and lived for years. Because he had lived here for years, Choi Kwan was able to lead me to the outside of the Dark Forest without any problems. I even think that without the light of the stars he could easily find his way out. Getting out after some more walking we arrived at a small abandoned village. And from the description of the ¡¸Kismet¡¹, I could tell that it is the village Choi Kwan lived before. Broken houses that are cut in half, cold and dried blood that turned black, and finally, at the back of the village were the tombs where Choi Kwan had buried the villagers. Choi Kwan silently walked forward and kneeled as he prayed. I expressed my condolence by doing the same thing. "Then..." Choi Kwan finally got straight to the point and I nodded my head. "Yeah, I''ll be leaving now" "Where will you be going?" He asked. I was hesitant to speak but still spoke honestly. "I''ll probably go look for a capital" Hearing this the atmosphere around Choi Kwan lowered and became gloomy. And in his eyes, were filled with contempt and deep hatred. I pretended to be oblivious and turned around as I held my hang bag. "Then, I''m off" as I said that I started walking away without looking back. Cold wind blew past Choi Kwan and he lowered his head as his bangs covered his eyes, making it difficult to read his expression, but his tightly clenched fist gave it all away. .... Using my memories I tried to recall the way towards the capital and found that it would atleast take my three days to get there. I''m afraid that this time I would starve and would need food. I stopped and found a place to rest as I sat down on a giant rock and started checking my things. What I found was the ¡¸Kismet¡¹that turned into a brush, my diary, a pen, and a small dagger. I took the dagger in my hand and stared at it. Heaving a deep sigh I mumbled to myself. "How troublesome" .... Going to another forest which this time was not filled with just very dangerous monsters, I started the hunt. I climbed a tree and waited patiently as I set up a trap using vines as a rope and net. I knew nothing would easily walk in the trap as I do not have food as a bait and so I can''t do anything except to wait as if I made myself as a bait, I''d probably wounded which would cause for blood to appear and monsters to smell it. What I need is just a simple wild animal as a food and not a monster. I''ve waited and wait and just as I was about to fall asleep, surprisingly a giant wild boar started running towards the trap at a fast speed, as if it was fleeing from something. As soon as the boar got into the trap I pulled the vine causing for the net to trap the boar and lift it up in the air. But I did not move anymore further after so. Why? Because it would not run so rashly like that out of nowhere without a reason, if it was being chased by something much more dangerous then I would be also inflicted if it notices me. I waited and silent looked around, raising my vigilance and senses but couldn''t see, hear, or sense anything at all. ''Was it all just a fluke?'' I wondered. I narrowed my eyes with doubt and confusion and decided to wait a little longer. After some more time the only thing I could hear was the boar''s squeal and struggle. After some hesitation, I finally decided and climb down the tree as I looked around vigilantly before looking at the boar. Then with a deep breath I raised my dagger and skillfully cut the boar. It squealed loudly several times until it finally couldn¡¯t make a sound anymore. Seeing that it''s dead I finally sighed with relief and cut down the vine. ''Thud'' The boar in the net fell down on the ground and with great difficulty I tried to pull it away but to no bail, failed miserably. I cursed silently in my heart, ''Damn weak body'' Just as I was contemplating on what to do, I heard a light sound of rustle and immediately became alert as I held the dagger with both hands. The surroundings were silent and I couldn''t help sweating a little. What people fear the most are not dangerous animals, monsters, humans themselves, but the fear of the unknown. And this was the same case for me. My heart thumped wildly and after some time passed, I suddenly recalled a description from the ¡¸Kismet¡¹. ¡¾Choi Kwan, is a vengeful person who will make the lives of those who betray him and cast him out miserably, but when it comes to his curiosity and a kind person, he will also be kind and had a gentle heart similar to the one''s he loved in the village.¡¿ Thinking of this I suddenly fell silent and couldn''t help but laugh angrily a little. With a deep sigh I closed my eyes before speaking. "You can come out now, Kwan" There was no sound which made me more angry, "If you won''t show yourself then have fun eating this bore that you brought for me, I won''t be eating it" Finally after the ''threat'' was released form my mouth, Choi Kwan got out of the bushes and revealed himself. He had a stoic and staright face which made me know that he is right now, embarrassed. I turned and said "Can you please help me with the food? As you can see, I am very weak" I was not exaggerating when I said I was very weak, because compared to this monster bastard I am on a whole different level of being weak. "...I see" Choi Kwan nodded blankly, probably not expecting me to say such a thing. I did not bother explaining to him and just started pulling the net but Choi Kwan stopped me and said "I''ll do it, I ca do it by myself" with that I backed away without hesitation and he grapped the net with one hand before being able to easily put the entire bore on his shoulder. "..." Damn I''m jealous. With that we found a spot to start a camp fire before roasting the boar. As I started roasting it, Choi Kwan sat opposite to me with an uncomfortable look as he kept fidgeting. Of course I understand the reason why he is like this. He had always been alone ever since his home was massacred. He was just like me, well, a little bit. I thought I could ignore him but to my dismay, I couldn''t. In the end I couldn¡¯t help but speak. "So, what''s your story?" "Huh?" Choi Kwan flinched not expecting me to talk to him. This brat, can''t you hide your obviousness? My lips twitched and I remained my eyes on the boar as I said "What''s your story? I can see that you''re very strong, so I want to know..." I picked up the two sticks with a piece of boar on it and gave one to him. "...How did you became like this?" Choi Kwan fell silent and the atmosphere turned gloomy once again. I already knew the answer but it would be nice if he told me himself. That way, I can''t see him as just a mere character from the ¡¸Kismet¡¹. Still I did not force him and said, "It''s fine if you don''t want to tell me, just eat" Choi Kwan took the roasted boar before chewing on it and slowly, his eyes widened into amazement. "Jis ish delishis! (This is delicious!)" He spoke in muffled voice as his mouth was full. I smirked and said "Anything can be delicious if you cook it in a right amount of heat" In just seconds he already ate up all the roasted boar and after a while he looked away as his eyes dodged and asked, "Can I have some more...?" I couldn''t help laughing slightly and gave him another one. Choi Kwan ate it with passion and after finishing it, his head dropped and I noticed the strangeness. Then, he spoke in a solemn voice. "I-" My eyes, which was lazy, widened slowly. "-killed my own parents" Chapter 8: Lightless Village Suddenly, everything fell into silence. ''What is he saying? What does he mean by he killed his own parents?'' I became confused and flabbergasted by the situation. I furrowed my eyebrows and tried to recall the contents of the ¡¸Kismet¡¹. That''s when I suddenly remembered, his parents was said to have died in a fire. The fire killed his parents, so what does he mean... Seeing me silent Choi Kwan continued, "I was playing in the kitchen at that time, I was still very young...then, the last thing I knew after I accidentally hit the fuse and it broke as it was splashed with water, then, fire spread everywhere..." I listened closely and the more I did, the more my heart ached. "After that, my dad found me and immediately got me out of the house. But my mom was still inside on the second floor and so dad had to go back." "I tried to stop him but he did not listen and still entered the burning house until, the house completely exploded and I lost consciousness as I was blown away. The next thing I knew, my parents were nowhere to be seen and the head of the village found me and treated my injuries" "That''s when they told me the truth, that my parents-...had passed away." Choi Kwan smiled bitterly as he said "They then sent me to a church and taught me everything about the goddess of light who had once gave us light and hope" Suddenly Choi Kwan lost his smile as he said with a dark expression, "When I got home from picking up fruits, I found that the entire village had been attacked by monsters" "And you know why we were unprepared for the attack?" Hearing this question I couldn''t help but look at Choi Kwan with sadness. I know, I know very well what the reason is. "The capital did not inform us on purpose about the coming monster raid and did not send any help to protect the villagers" ''Whoosh'' Cold wind blew past us as my shirt and hair flattered. My contrasting coloured eyes showed sadness in them. "I''m, very sorry for what happened..." Choi Kwan was silent but still forced a smile and shook his head, saying "It''s not your fault" ''Crackle'' The sound of fire cracking sounded before it finally burned out and darkness engulfed us once again. The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. The stars shone and Choi Kwan slapped both of his cheek until it became red and took a deep breath. Then he smiled again like nothing happened and asked, "How about you? What''s your story?" "...Me?" Choi Kwan hummed and nodded. I fell silent before I sighed with a bitter smile. Putting down the stick of the already eaten roasted boar, I looked up at the starry sky and spoke. "Well, you could say, I''m a lonely person" "I was abandoned by my parents at a young age, I was bullied in the military days because I was lacking formal education as well as having a weak body" Thinking of something I chuckled and said "Even now, as the only survivor, I''m still alone" Choi Kwan looked at me sadly and I said "But, I did had friends" Hearing this Choi Kwan smiled a little. But then I added a sentence that made him had a sad face. "But they all died infront of me." I looked at the stars and said with a bitter smile, "They were off an a mission to hunt down monsters, but unexpectedly the monsters were A - Grade above. When I was informed and arrived, it was already too late" The next sentence I spoke made Choi Kwan widened his eyes in despair. "And that''s, when I found out that it was all a set up, by ''Fate''." "...Fate?" Choi Kwan asked and I nodded my head with a solemn look. Choi Kwan became confused and thought i was just blaming Fate irrationally but seeing my serious face he couldn''t help but fell silent. ''Is it, really Fate that killed his friends?'' He then couldn''t help thinking, ''Could my parents-, and the villagers, also got killed by Fate?'' I looked at Choi Kwan before I looked away silently, I do not plan on telling him about the ¡¸Kismet¡¹or that ''Fate'' also was the one to kill his loved ones. I still cannot act rashly. Stretching my limbs I yawned and said "That''s enough, let''s rest for now and keep moving tomorrow" Choi Kwan then recalled something and said "Aren¡¯t you gonna give light to this world?" I unconsciously smirked at his words and said "World? How can I give light to the entire world? I can probably give light to a city or maybe just a small vilage" Choi Kwan wanted to say more but I interrupted him and said "Good Night" before leaning on a tree with my eyes closed. Choi Kwan was dumbfounded and couldn''t help but sigh before also leaning against a tree and looked up at the sky. ''Fate....'' Reaching out his hands towards the sky he slowly closed it and mumbled something. "If it''s Fate that killed everyone, then I would not hesitate to tear apart this damned Fate" .... After some time passed we woke up and no monsters or wild animals attacked us as Kwan did a great job in killing them while I was asleep. Then, we finally arrived at our first destination towards the capital. A village that is larger compared to the village Choi Kwan lived in. The Lightless Village. As we walked through the village I noticed that not many people had opened their stalls yet and I thought that it might be because they are still asleep. But to my dismay, they were not and was doing something else that made me filled with rage and hatred. ''Thud!'' Suddenly something bumped me and we fell backwards. I groaned in pain and looked to see that it was a child covered in bandages, even his face is bandaged, only his left eye, nose, and mouth are not covered. "Ugh, are you alright?" I asked and the child looked at me before we heard the sound of people yelling. The child struggled to get up immediately and I also got up. The child was about to run away but I caught his wrist and asked "What''s wrong?" Then at the alley we saw a group of people with torches running towards us. The child panicked and struggled violently but I held both of his shoulders and coaxed him, "Hey! Look at me!" The child stopped and indeed stared at me. I smiled and said "It''s okay" The child with great reluctance, nodded his head and hid behind me instead. The group of people finally arrived and an elder with a long white beard pointed his fingers at us and spoke in a trembling voice, "Get away from that demon!" "Demon?" Choi Kwan muttered with a frown. "The other people nodded as they spoke simultaneously, "He''s a monster!" "A curse!" "The reason why the goddess of light abandoned us!" Hearing their words my face slowly lost it''s gentleness and I stared at them coldly, "What about you watch your words?" There was no hint of smile, only coldness and disgust. The people were stunned before they retorted "You don''t know anything!" "That''s right! What we said is the truth!" "How so?" This time it was Choi Kwan who spoke as he stepped forward with a domineering aura. The people trembled under his momentum but still forced to speak. "14 years ago there was still messages from the goddess of light and everyone lived with faith and belief but after this devil was born the presence of the goddess of light suddenly disappeared and the church who was about to bless him suddenly broke and collapsed on it''s own!" "What''s more! His eyes are red! The symbol of evil! He''s a bad omen!" "Enough with this! It''s time to finally kill this bastard!" With that everyone started to run towards us once again and just as Choi Kwan was about to step forward and unsheath his sword, I was faster than him and stepped forward to block the child. "If you dare to take one more step, I''ll tear your limbs apart!" Chapter 9: Cursed Child The people are stunned and trembled in anger and fear at the same time as they kept looking between me and Choi Kwan. After some contemplation, the elder finally snorted coldly before walking away. "You imbeciles! You will regret this!" With that he and the rest of the people finally left as they walked with anger. I was indifferent to them and crouched down as i placed my hand on top of the child''s head, "Are you alright?" The child lowered his head and nodded slowly. That''s when I saw the newly added wounds on every part of his body. I frowned and took off some of the bandages to see that there are also old scars. Seeing this Choi Kwan and I became even more furious. ''How cruel can they be?!'' I then smiled gently and reached out my hand. As the child saw my hand about to reach him, he immediately covered his face in a defensive posture and that''s when I and Kwan widened our eyes. The child still trembled, waiting for the expected pain but nothing happened. He then peeked and saw my with a stunned face. He was still trembling and I couldn''t help but become more gentle. I still continued to reach out my hand cautiously and asked, "Would you like to come with us?" Hearing my words it was the child''s turn to be stunned and after some time, was in a dilemma, he knew there are no people who would be kind to him without anything in return. So raising his courage, he asked back, "W- What d- do you want in r-return sir?" I chuckled and shook my head. "Nothing. I don''t want anything-" Suddenly I paused before saying "Actually, I do want something from you" Choi Kwan became flabbergasted by my words only to hear an unexpected sentence coming from my mouth next. "I want to you to become stronger and grew up healthy" Both Choi Kwan and the child widened their eyes slowly. I smiled at their reactions and looked back at the child''s red eyes. "What do you say? Are you willing to follow us?" The child fell into contemplation as he kept fidgeting his fingers, thinking deeply. I couldn''t help comparing him to Choi Kwan. After some time the child took a deep breath before speaking, "I want to!" I nodded my head at his answer and said "Good, shall we go find a place to stay first?" .... Choi Kwan ofcourse had money from this world but I do not want to stay in that village and so we decided to find an abandoned shelter. Fortunately, outside the village near the forest there is one. After fixing the small shabby house a little bit, it came out pretty decent. Then as we rested I asked the child, "What''s your name?" The child looked up between me and Choi Kwan before he lowered his head and answered, "Asher..." Hearing this I couldn''t help but look at his stats trembling. ¡¾Status¡¿ ¡¾Name¡¿: Asher ¡¾Age¡¿: 14 ¡¾Species¡¿: ¡¸Human¡¹ ¡¾Occupation¡¿: ¡¸Cursed Child¡¹ ¡¾Titles¡¿: (None) ¡¾Chronicles¡¿: 1 Seeing this I was flabbergasted. Because, in the ¡¸Kismet¡¹, it told a story about a certain child who would grew up to become a tyrant, a villain who will subjugate the world ¡¸Abyss¡¹. And the child''s name, is Asher. Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. I stared at Asher with shaking eyes and Asher became confused. I took a deep breath and thought to myself, ''No, he is not a villain yet, he is still a child'' with that thought I calmed down a little and tried to check his skills but found that there is none yet. ''It seems he hasn''t awakened yet'' I then wondered, ''He also has ¡¾Chronicles¡¿, so why don''t I have one?'' I shook off that thought and smiled at Asher as I said "That''s a beautiful name you got there" Suddenly Asher turned gloomy and I narrowed my eyes slightly, "It''s okay, you don''t have to listen to what others said about you, what you should always remember is that you are a living person and that you must value your life" "...But what if I don''t deserve to live?" Asher suddenly spoke. Crouching down i said, "Hey, look at me" Asher followed and looked me in the eyes, I smiled and said "A villain is not born but created, you did not choose to be born, but you can choose whether you want to become bad or good. Ofcourse it is still based on the circumstances but, everyone, has a choice" Asher slowly widened his eyes and looked at me with his lips parted slightly from being stunned. Then he lowered his head and said in a muffled voice, "B- But, I- I''m a c-cursed child...I''m a bad omen..." "Why do you think so?" I suddenly asked in a stern voice which startled Asher. His eyes then dodged and said "B- Because the g-goddess of light disappeared when I w-was b-born" "And you think you''re the reason for it?" Choi Kwan suddenly spoke and Asher turned to look at him. Choi Kwan then said, "In my village we also believed in the goddess of light, but she disappeared even before you were born" Asher widened his eyes and I said "You are not a curse, Asher. Actually, you''re even stronger than me, more than you could ever know" Tilting his head Asher looked confused and I chuckled, "You could bear such hate without any solace, but I probably wouldn''t have survived if it was me" Suddenly Asher felt a tug in his heart and he asked cautiously, "R- Really?" "Mm" I hummed and nodded in response. "You''re strong, Asher, and I''m serious about it" Asher finally couldn¡¯t bear it and tears dripped from his eyes as the corner of it turned red. I hugged him and patted his back as I coaxed him, "It''s okay, it''s okay" Choi Kwan watched this scene from the sidelines and couldn''t help thinking, ''Many people had lived a fearful and tragic life ever since the world''s destruction'' He then looked at me and thought ''I hope you can truly give light, Constellation'' .... After some rest a day had already probably passed and Choi Kwan went back to the village reluctantly and bought some medicines. While he did so I carved out woods whilst Asher was asleep. ''Tac'' ''Tac'' The sound of wood being hammered sounded and after some time I finally breathed a sigh of relief as I wiped away the sweat on my forehead. "Done" -- "Here" Asher flinched and catched the wooden sword I carved. "This is...?" He asked and I replied with a smile, "It''s your training weapon" "Training?" Choi Kwan asked with one eyebrow raised. "Well, he''ll need to get stronger physically and know some defence don''t he?" I said and Choi Kwan wanted to say something but was unable to and could only reluctantly nod his head in agreement. Asher thought about it before he puffed his chest and said "Who will train me then?" I smirked and pointed at Choi Kwan with my chin. "Obviously it''s him, he''s a great swordsman and is very strong" Asher then looked at between me and Kwan, in the end they both agreed and I showed a spot that they could do as the training area. It was an open field in the forest, a perfect place for sparring. Then, the training begun. .... "Huff...huff..." The sound of heavy panting sounded but only Asher was panting as sweat keep dripping from his forehead and his shirt was wet. Choi Kwan on the other hand still has a straight posture, holding his sword domineeringly. ''Kwan is not going easy on Asher at all, and that''s one of the best thing I could see in a teacher. They wouldn''t go easy and belittle their student just because they are a child or a beginner'' I stared at Choi Kwan and thought, ''It''s fortunate that he followed me'' .... About weeks had already passed since then and surprisingly, Asher was able to quickly adapt tp the situation and was finally able to spar with Choi Kwan with his sword raised straight. ''Tac!'' ''Tac!'' A fierce battle unfolded before me and Asher was finally able to attack and not only defend which was good. After a while we took a break and I gestured for Asher to come to me. Asher did and I said to Choi Kwan, "Kwan, can you give us a moment?" Choi Kwan raised an eyebrow suspiciously before he turned and left. Sensing that there is only the two of us left, I picked up another wooden sword and pointed it at Asher. The latter was surprised and I curled my lips, "Let''s spar" "What?" "I said, let''s spar. I want to teach you something, although I''m not very good at swords I still have some knowledge about survival" I said which made Asher confused but instead of answering, I made a samurai position and held my sword as I closed my eyes. "Hoo..." I exhaled a deep breath. Asher knew I was serious and also took a fighting position. Then as soon as I opened my eyes I dashed towards him at a fast speed. Asher prepared a defensive posture and blocked my sword but to his surprise I only used one hand to hold the sword and the other was aimed at his abdomen. Before he had the time to dodge, it was too late as my hand pierce his abdomen and he coughed out saliva from the pain I embedded on it and fell to his knees. "What...?" Asher couldn''t help trembling from the pain and looked at my with bewilderment. I spoke coldly and said "That''s a technique that is called by others dirty, but if you want to survive by using any means, then that is one of the techniques you can use to win and catch your opponent off guard" "B- But, w- wouldn''t you b- be hated if so?" He asked. I scoffed and said "Do you still have dignity when it comes to survival? No, you need to be an egoist" "Now, Asher" I said which made Asher raise his head. "Choose, do you want to become a soldier that would do any means for survival, or a knight that would wield a sword not to kill but to save" This question made Asher unable to speak. Turning around I said "That''s the end of my teaching, it''s up to you whether what decision you''ll choose" After that I left and Choi Kwan got back. As they sparred again Asher kept falling off balance and Choi Kwan noticed his strangeness and stopped the sparring for today. He then tried to ask what I had done or said that made him lose focus but Asher just shook his head and said that''s he''s fine. As they left Choi Kwan couldn''t help being suspicious of our conversation and decided to go look for me. As Asher got back home, Choi Kwan went back to the woods and found me sitting on top of a tree branch. "Looking for me?" I asked. Choi Kwna nodded and I stretched my limbs before jumping down the tree. As we walked back home Choi Kwan finally asked, "What did you say to Asher?" I shrugged my shoulders and said "I just gave him an option" "An option?" "Yes. I wany him to choose, whether he is wielding a sword for survival or, is he wielding a sword to protect someone?" Hearing my words Choi Kwan widened his eyes and halted. I ignored it and continued walking. He stared at my fading back and couldn''t help being lost in thought, ''Constellation, what life did you lived through exactly?'' .... More weeks passed and at this day, everything changed. ''Knock! Knock!'' The sound of loud banging coming from the door sounded and the three of us looked at each other with vigilance before I opened the door. Then, a bloody person was seen as they fell to the ground. "Help...us..." I crouched down and asked "What happened?" Then, I saw large scratches from their back and I frowned as Choi Kwan and I looked at each other. Asher trembled when he saw it was the familiar person that also hunted him before. But now, instead of him being covered in blood and scars, it was that person instead who had it. "W- What happened?" Asher asked stuttering and I had a solemn face as I spoke, "They were attacked" "Attacked?" Asher asked. I looked at him and said, "Attacked, by monsters" Chapter 10: Light in the Lightless Village Asher widened his eyes in horror as he heard this. "T- Then, are the others-?" I nodded my head solemnly and said "I''m afraid they are also being currently attacked" I placed my fingers on the side of the neck of the person and felt no pulse and said "He''s gone, let''s burry him for now" With that Choi Kwan and I buried the person at the back of the house. After we finished praying I asked Asher, "What do you plan to do now?" "Huh?" Asher looked at me with surprise and I said "It''s up to you, whether we save them or not" Hearing this even Choi Kwan widened his eyes and furrowed his eyebrows. "M- Me?" Asher pointed at himself and I explained, "They hurt you didn''t they? They treated you as an outcast, an object that needs to disappear. So are you still willing to save them?" Choi Kwan wanted to intervene but I stopped him with just a cold glance with my eyes. Then I spoke again, "I''m not saying you should hold the burden of their lives and death, but I''m asking you about the previous question I asked before." With this I finally caught Asher''s attention. "Are you wielding a sword to survive and kill or, are you wielding your sword to protect someone?" With that Asher fell into deep silence. I waited patiently and after some time Asher still didn''t reply, just as I thought he had chosen survival, he suddenly spoke. "I- I want to save them!" I widened my eyes and asked "Why? Is it pity?" Asher shook his head and said "No! I''m doing this because they are living people!" "You said before, that every living person deserves to live, that''s why, I think that they also deserve to live!" His words felt like needles piercing my heart and consciousness. I narrowed my eyes into a smile and I couldn''t help speak, "Good, you had just proven to us your nature" "What?" "You proved it, that you are a good person, and I want you stay that way. Still if they dare to hurt you or your beloveds, don''t hesitate to give karma to them" Asher''s red eyes shined before wiping away the tears on his eyes. "Mm!" He hummed and I turned to look at the direction of the lightless village. "Let''s go" .... "Ahhhh!" "H- Help!" "Help! Help me!" The cries of despair sounded throughout the village as green monsters with four legs and sharp snout. They screeched loudly that it hurts one person''s eardrums. The elder which was actually the village chief fell to the floor and his leg was scratched by the monsters sharp claw. The author''s content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. "Guhhhh!" He screamed in pain and as he turned and crawled away backwards, the monster kept approaching slowly step by step. Just as the village chief found a dead end, he closed his eyes in despair and the monster screeched as it pounced towards him. But, the expected pain did not come. The village chief trembled greatly and with courage, took a bold move and opened one of his eyes to peek only to have both widen at the same time. The monster was frozen and did not move until it fell to the ground with a loud ''Thud!''. Then, the village chief saw the familiar child that they loathed stabbed the monster with a sword as it died without any struggle. The village chief was stunned and confused. Why would he, the devil, save someone, not just save anyone but a person who had repeatedly hurt him. Asher turned a blind eye to the village chief and turned. Just as he was about to walk away the village chief screamed out, "Wait!" Asher halted his steps but did not turn around. The village chief then said, "Please, help them!" Asher did not responded and the cillage chief became even more anxious. "I know you must loath us to your core but, please! Just this once! Save them!" Still Asher did not move anymore inch. Just as the village chief was about to cry in despair, he heard Asher speak. "Alright" "What...?" This time Asher turned around to face the village chief, with a frown he said "I''ll save them" "Thank goodness!" The village chief cried out and couldn''t help but bow down until his forehead kept touching the floor. Asher frowned and said "Don''t do that, I hate it" "Y- Yes!" The village chief stopped in fear of Asher changing his mind and so kept still. Asher then turned and said "Find a place to hide first, I''ll take care of the others" "No!" The village chief shook his head and said "They are my people, it''s my obligation to protect them!" Asher did not refuse and just said "Fine, do whatever you want" before dashing away. From the distance Choi Kwan and I stared at the scene and I couldn''t help asking, "Are you really alright by letting Asher barrow your sword?" Choi Kwan nodded without hesitation and said "He is my student afterall" Hearing his comment I couldn''t help but chuckle, "Ofcourse he is" Choi Kwan stared at me before asking "Why?" "Hm?" "Why don''t you want to go out there?" I held my chin and looked up as if contemplating and said "Hmm, well, first of all I''m very weak, and lastly-" I looked at Asher who was fighting the monsters and said "-It''s his chance" "Chance...?" "Yes. A chance to prove himself that he is worthy of being alive. This is also the best kind of revenge. By living peacefully and a strong life can you make the enemy''s wrong doings go in vain" "...I see" Choi Kwan nodded his head blankly. Then, we saw Asher facing a much more larger monster compared to others and this time, Asher''s sword flew away and the monster was about to bite Asher whole. Choi Kwan was about to dash towards them but I stopped him at the critical moment and said "Wait!" "What do you mean wait?!" Choi Kwan as furious and struggled but I stopped him and said "Don''t you believe in him?!" This time Choi Kwan stopped and I said, "Just watch" Choi Kwan huffed but still followed as we watched. Then he saw something unbelievable. Asher jumped and dodged the attack and as he ran on the snout of the mosnter he punched the eyes of the monster. ''Roarrrrr!'' The monster screeched and the moment it raised it''s head Asher jumped down. Then just as he was about to ran towards the sword the village chief and other people gathered as one of them picked up the sword and threw it towards Asher''s direction, "Here! Catch it!" Fortunately it reached Asher as Asher caught it with one hand. Then, he made a samurai stance and took a deep breath and exhaled. "That-" Choi Kwan was dumbfounded and I chuckled as I said "That brat, he truly is monster" Opening his eyes Asher immediately dashed towards the monster at a fast speed because of the training between him and Choi Kwan everyday. Then as Asher leaped forward, with a slash he cut the monster in half. ''Boom!'' The monster fell with a loud ''boom!'' and finally the other monsters growled before retreating. Seeing this the villagers were shocked before joy filled them. "Is it- over?" "W- We survived!" The villagers immediately cheered with joy, then they realized that it was Asher, the child who they hated, saved them. They all fell silent before they looked at Asher. Asher did not care about them and was about to walk away when they stopped him. "Wait a minute!" Asher halted and asked "What is it?" "W- We''re terribly sorry!" "We don''t dare to ask for your forgiveness but please, we would like to give our apology and gratefulness" Asher was indifferent and just continued to walk. Just as the villagers thought he was about to leave, they suddenly saw him going towards a corpse and said "Please help me bury them" The villagers were stunned before they realized it and immediately helped Asher with carrying and burying the dead people. -- Not long after they were finally able to burry everyone in the village cemetery. Just as they do not know what to do next, they suddenly saw Asher kneeling and praying for the dead. They widened their eyes in surprise, they were the one who believed in God and yet after they disappeared they never dared to pray again. Just as they were filled with awkwardness, the village chief stepped forward and kneeled beside Asher as he also prayed and expressed his condolence. The rest looked at each other before they followed along. After this they stared at the broken village and just as they were sad they suddenly heard the sound of heavy footsteps and turned to see me and Choi Kwan carrying woods and supplies. "Need some help?" I asked with a smile. .... After that days had probably already passed and while I also helped with rebuilding the houses, I checked the church that got destroyed. As I looked around I found that it was covered in green mosses and spider webs. Just as I walked I found a statue of a beautiful lady with long hair and a three guitar string. That''s when I found that it was the appearance of the goddess of light. Just as I stared at the statue, it''s eyes suddenly shone bright before I lost consciousness. .... As soon as my sight was back I found that I was in a white space and heard the sound of a feminine voice crying. As I looked over towards the direction, that''s when I saw something that made my heart skip a beat for a moment. It was the goddess of light but was alive and real! For the first time, I saw a God. Chapter 11: Goddess of Light Hearing her cry I became hesitant to approach her. Why did I suddenly appeared here? As if answering my question, the goddess of light turned to look at me. She had a bright golden hair and white eyes that seemed to be full of light. ¡ºThank you, thank you so much! I cannot express my gratitude good enough!¡» The goddess of light said tearfully. She stood up and approached me as her layered speckle dress was dragged, holding both of my hands she said ¡ºYou were able to save not just him but also the other believers!¡» "What...do you mean?" I asked with doubt and the goddess of light said ¡ºAsher, actually, his story went astray from what I intended to¡» My eyes widened slightly and the goddess of light said ¡ºI''ll show it to you¡»with that the surroundings changed and images appeared. It was Asher when he was still a baby and- his parents which the mother was the goddess of light! The goddess of light then explained. ¡ºAsher was actually given birth by me and my beloved husband who was a human. The moment he was about to be born ''they'' appeared and killed my husband saying that it is a sin to fall in love with a human, and I knew it very well....¡» ¡ºAlthough I felt so sinful because of the death of my husband I still couldn¡¯t let our child die and so I gave him to the believers.¡» ¡ºUnfortunately the day he was about to be blessed by me I was attacked by ''they'' and so had to flee, that''s when I lost my presence to the believers which caused for Asher to be misunderstood and became an outcast¡» Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences. Listening to this I became horrified of the truth and also aggrieved. I then noticed some flaws and asked "Why is Asher''s appearance like that then? Is his father like that?" The goddess of light shook her head and said ¡ºNo. I gave him that appearance as a disguise from his true one so that ''they'' wouldn''t be able to find him¡» I nodded before asking another one, "Then what about Choi Kwan''s village? Why did you disappear before Asher was even born?" The goddess of light bit her lower lip, that''s when she said the truth. ¡ºI was selfish at that time because of love and so I went to this village instead and where my husband lives¡» ¡ºAnd because, I searched for help at that time¡» "What?" I was surprised and the goddess of light said ¡ºThe Angel of Dream foresaw a future about the village and told that they''ll be abandoned by the capital. I couldn''t do anything to intervene except to ask for help from the prophet in the capital.¡» ¡ºBut that''s when I found that the prophet was evil!¡» ¡ºThe prophet lied to the higher ups of the capital and told that the capital would be in danger if they help that village and so abandoned it.¡» ¡ºThat''s also when I found that it was because of me interfering that the foresaw future actually came true¡» She said and cried even more. ¡ºI don''t deserve to be their god¡» I became silent at her words and couldn''t express my opinion. In the end only silence was left and the sound of her crying. After some time she wiped away her tears and said ¡ºFortunately, you and Choi Kwan came and was able to give kindness towards Asher. It is also because of you that the villagers were saved.¡» I bowed my head in a respectful manner and said "There''s no need to thank us" ¡ºNo¡»The goddess of light shook her head and said ¡ºMy words of gratitude is not enough, that''s why I want to give you and Choi Kwan something¡» "Ah! N- No need!" I stuttered in embarrassment but the goddess of light just smiled before she placed her palm on my forehead before I lost consciousness. ¡ºThe ''Goddess of Light'' has bestowed her ¡¸Blessing¡¹to the epitome "Kim Su-Jin"¡» ¡ºThe ''Goddess of Light'' has bestowed her ¡¸Blessing¡¹to the epitome "Choi Kwan"¡» .... Opening my eyes I found that i was still standing before the statue, as if all of that was just a dream. I held my chest, still being able to feel the divine-nest of being able to stand before a God. ''It was not a dream'' Suddenly I heard a familiar voice calling out my name and I knew it was Kwan and Asher. I turned around and was about to leave but still looked back at the statue before finally leaving. Unbeknownst to me the moment I left the statue of the goddess of light had a tear dripped down from her cheek as a ghostly voice sounded. ¡ºThank you¡» Chapter 12: Uninvited Guests More weeks passed since then and with the help of everyone we were able to rebuild the entire village. This day is when we rebuilt the church and made Asher a saint. This is also the day when we will leave. At the back of the church Asher looked at me and Choi Kwan and started fidgeting his fingers. I smiled and said "Don''t be nervous, you can do this" "You deserve it aswell" Choi Kwan said with a smile. Asher also smiled before he remembered something and became sad. "Do you guys really have to go?" I droop my eyes a little and said sadly, "Yes" "...I see" Asher nodded slowly before we turned to look at the door. Then taking a deep breath he pushed open the door before we entered the church. That''s when Asher widened his eyes in surprise. "The Saint is here!" ""Hurey!"" At every corner of the church were all the villagers and they all cheered for Asher with bright smile. While Asher was stunned I couldn''t help curling up my lips before I placed my hand on his shoulder which startled him a little. "Go on" I said before lightly pushing him forward. Asher was pushed and looked back at us. In the end as he saw us gesture to go, he finally took a deep breath before he walked through the church. Then he saw the children who were once afraid and avoided him, was now looking at him with amazement and worship. ''What is this-...feeling?'' He clutched his chest and somehow felt, warm. Then he recalled what I said about not easily being swayed by emotions and so kept a straight face which made me chuckle. After Asher finally arrived at the altar, the village chief finally said his speech. "I want to thank you everyone, for coming here at this special ceremony!" "I would also like to say sorry to our newly saint for the past years that we''ve hurt and loathed him." "Even still, he never forsaken us and came back to save us, this just proved how wrong we are. Maybe even, the destruction of the church was not a sign of bad omen, but a sign of a birth of a hero. I cannot look at our goddess anymore after what we''ve done." "That''s why I pray that she takes away all our sins and that our saint will have a much more brighter future that he deserves!" ""Woooh!"" The crowd cheered. The village chief then cleared his throat and spoke, "Now, let''s welcome and thank our new saint, Asher!" "Thank you!" "Thank you dear saint!" The people one by one expressed their gratitude and sorrow for what they''ve done to him in the past. Just as everyone was celebrating, Asher suddenly walked towards the village chief and whispered something in his ears. The village chief nodded and stepped back making way for Asher. This tale has been unlawfully obtained from Royal Road. If you discover it on Amazon, kindly report it. As Asher stood at the village chief previous spot he spoke and everyone kept their mouth shout. "First, I would like to express my thanks for giving me an opportunity to become a saint for this village. Then, I would like to remind everyone about something." Everyone held their breaths as their heard this, fearing that Asher would say something about their unforgivable sins they''ve committed. Unexpectedly, he said something else. "There was once a person that said something to me that was deeply embedded into my mind." "He said, ''A villain is not born but created, you did not choose to be born, but you can choose whether you want to become bad or good. Ofcourse it is still based on the circumstances but, everyone, has a choice'', and I want everyone to learn their lessons from this words, that you cannot discriminate a person by just looking at the outside without knowing the inside." Everyone fell silent and felt ashamed but still accepted it. Still some felt doubt and did not believed his words which Asher just turned a blind eye to. "That''s all" Asher said before bowing. There was a moment of silence before everyone started giving applause. The village chief gave a cough before saying, "Now! Let''s welcome, saint Asher!" .... While I was sitting on the roof of the church I heard the sound of footsteps and immediately guessed who it is. "What''s the matter?" Choi Kwan was silent before he asked "Don''t you wanna watch Asher?" "Hmm, forgive me but just as I told you my story, I''m a loner type of person and doesn''t feel comfortable with many people" I said honestly. Choi Kwan wanted to say something but in the end could only fall silent. He then sat down beside me which confused me. "What are you doing?" Choi Kwan smirked and said "Can''t you see? I''m accompanying you" "Yes but, why exactly?" "Because I''ll show you, that you also need light yourself, dear Constellation" Choi Kwan said sarcastically. I couldn''t help but laugh a little. He then became serious and said, "You did give light to this lightless village, so I think that you also deserve one" "Correction, it''s Asher who gave light to the village" I interrupted. "...Huh?" Choi Kwan became confused and I spoke with sincerity. "I only gave Asher an option and the rest was done by himself, he wouldn''t be able to give light if he chose the wrong path" "But-" "No but''s" I cut him off decisively. Choi Kwan furrowed his eyebrows in annoyance and I ignored his glare and just looked up at the lightless sky. Just as Choi Kwan was about to say something, the ground suddenly shook violently and everyone inside the church panicked. "W- What''s going on?!" "An earthquake?!" I frowned and had a bad premonition in my heart as I thought ''No, it''s not an earthquake'' Suddenly a crack appeared on the ground just outside the church and the people who was about to go out was forced to get back inside out of fear. Then, a blue transparent creature appeared that has the appearance of a whale and dolphin at the same time with the addition of eight fins. Then, as it opened it''s mouth I saw something that made my eyes shook in horror. The inside of it''s mouth is nothing but a black hole that would engulf anything. And this, is an ¡¸Outer Being¡¹, a being that came from another dimension and universe. The ¡¸Outer Being¡¹floated towards the church as it opened it''s gigantic mouth and the trees that were near it was immediately swallowed into the black hole. It was a terrifying scene knowing that it would lead us into an unknown place. "Kwan!" "Got it!" Choi Kwan immediately dashed and stood at the entrance of the church. Unsheathing his sword he used his skill ¡¸Starlight¡¹and swung his sword towards the ¡¸Outer Being¡¹which the latter groaned before it shook it''s head and roared! This made Choi Kwan widened his eyes, there''s no way that his skill did not even wounded the enemy! I frowned and cursed myself for forgetting that Choi Kwan has not yet fought an ¡¸Outer Being¡¹. I then saw Asher also rushed to Choi Kwan''s side which made me more anxious. ''What do I do?'' My heart pounded violently and I pondered greatly. ''Think, think!'' But just at that critical juncture, something came out from the crack and flew upward! It was wearing a robotic armor with four insect wings on it''s back and soon it landed straight towards the back of the ¡¸Outer Being¡¹and dashed towards it''s head. As it dashed forward it''s two blades had already been cutting it''s back at a fast speed before it reached the head! Then as it made it''s final move, it landed a sharp swing of both swords on the head before it landed on the ground and without looking back, sheathed it''s sword in it''s scabbard. The ¡¸Outer Being¡¹was frozen on the spot before bright lights suddenly appeared on the lines that appeared all over it''s body before exploding into thin lights. Everyone was stunned. Then the being that came out of the crack after the ¡¸Outer Being¡¹looked towards Choi Kwan and Asher. Then, it looked towards me before it raised it''s hand to it''s chest and spoke in a mechanical voice. "We shall meet again" Then, the being was suddenly sucked back into the crack before they both disappeared, as if it was never there to begin with. "What-...was that just now?" Asher couldn''t help asking. Choi Kwan was silent, he looked over to my direction which I was just staring at the crack that was gone with wide eyes. He parted his lips slightly before saying, "I...don''t know either" Unbeknownst to us, this single accident, had already caused us great catastrophe. .... At the planet ¡¸Stephanos¡¹at the dimension 8.76, a great rumor quickly spread out. ''Slam!'' "What?! What do you mean a future had been changed?!" At a grand castle, people were inside a room that had a long table and everyone was in an uproar! "My ¡¸Kismet¡¹suddenly changed and the past of a villain named Asher changed! Instead of being forsaken by the village and went berserk as he massacred everyone, he became their saint and saviour!" "Not only that! That bastard egoist also showed up and saved them from the ¡¸Karma¡¹that came to their world!" "This is nonsense!" "I don''t believe this!" "What will happen to the future now then?!" Just as everyone was arguing, an old lady with wrinkles all over her face raised her hand which immediately made everyone fell silent. The lady narrowed her eyes and said "The time has come" "W- What do you mean Ms. Emery?" The lady called Emery looked out of the window which immediately revealed on the other side is the galaxy. She was silent for a long time before speaking, and her words made everyone widened their eyes in horror. "The time for a change" Chapter 13: Truth Back at the church every villager had already been dispersed and got back to their homes. Although they now recognize Asher as their saint, they still couldn¡¯t help having doubts in their hearts after experiencing another calamity the day he was brought to church. Asher''s eyes droop slightly and just as he was about to feel sad again he suddenly heard a child that was much more younger to him spoke out loud. "The reason why that monster appeared is because they are afraid that they''ll be defeated if saint Asher becomes a saint!" Not long after, the sound of other children''s cries sounded. "Yeah! They just don''t want us to have a strong and capable saint!" Then, the adults also joined. "No matter what, saint Asher will be our only saint!" Hearing this Asher''s eyes shook and he couldn''t help tearing up. Suddenly a hand was placed on his shoulder and he saw me looking towards the villagers. I said, "What do you think?" "What?" I smiled and turned my head to look at Asher and asked, "Do you think your decision is correct?" Asher fell silent and lowered his head, he muttered "I don''t know if their faith in me is forever..." Just as I was about to be disappointed he suddenly added a sentence that made me stunned. "...But right now, I think it is correct and I will make it that it stays the same!" I widened my eyes in surprise before I smiled gently. "Good" I then noticed something and asked "By the way" "Hm?" I looked around and asked, "Where''s Kwan?" "Oh, I think he went back to the training field" Asher said in response. "...I see" I narrowed my eyes before I smiled and said "I think we''ll be staying here for a little while longer than I thought" "Really?" Asher''s eyes sparkled and I chuckled before rubbing his head, "Yeah" After that I said goodbye to Asher and went to the training field where they had been practicing, in the forest. -- Not long after I finally arrived and saw something that made me dumbfounded for a moment before shaking my head and sighed. ''Swish!'' ''Swoosh!'' "Ha!" Choi Kwan who was swinging his sword had his upper body naked revealed his muscular body and sweats dripped all over his forehead. He kept swinging his sword fiercely and domineeringly and yet, from the looks of his, he doesn''t seem to be satisfied at all. I can hear the disappointment in his voice as well as the bitter feeling and anger that is rising within him. This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings. ''He''s probably mad about the fact that his skill had no effect against an ¡¸Outer Being¡¹.'' I thought and just stood there, leaning against a tree with my arms crossed as I watched him train. -- Later Choi Kwan finally finished and wiped away the sweat on his forehead. He was spanting heavily but took a deep breath to steady his breathing. "Done with venting your anger?" Choi Kwan flinched and turned to look at me. "Constellation!" "Why so surprised?" I asked with a chuckle Choi Kwan''s lips parted slightly before he turned his head and said solemnly, "It''s nothing" I curled my lips before it disappeared without a trace and I spoke in a cold voice which made Choi Kwan flinched in surprise. "Choi Kwan" Choi Kwan looked at me and I became reluctant before I heaved a deep sigh and spoke. "I know the reason why the villagers in your village died" ''Whoosh'' Slowly, Choi Kwan''s eyes widened and the grip on his sword tightened as veins started showing. Seeing him like this, I kind of regretted it but thought, ''He has the right to know about this'' I then remembered about his future in the ¡¸Kismet¡¹and thought, ''I also don''t want his future to happen'' I also did pondered about this a long time since like what happened to the goddess of light where she tried to prevent the future to happen but was the reason for it to happen. But, Asher, his future changed for now. He who was supposed to be forsaken and massacre the entire village has now become their saviour and saint. There is also the sudden appearance of an ¡¸Outer Being¡¹which was not supposed to happen. That means I can change the future. Although this is only a theory of mine, I had a strong feeling that it is a fact, and whatever the outcome is, I''ll take full responsibility for their future. ''I want to change their fate!'' Memories of my friends laughter and deaths appeared in my mind and I couldn''t feeling a strong determination. ''Like i said before, I shall alter this so called fate! Even if it sounds ambitious, there is nothing impossible anymore in this accursed universe!'' With that thought I finally relived my anxious heart, but then, the next step finally came. "What do you mean...you know, their deaths?" Asher asked as the winds blew wildly and his eyes are covered by his bangs. I stared at him before taking a deep breath and finally spoke. "The goddess of light, when i went to the church, she spoke to me" "Do you believe it?" I asked with an indifferent face as if I wouldn''t care what his answer will be. Chou Kwan was silent before he said "...I do" Hearing his answer I explained what exactly had happened. "She spoke to me and told me her story, she said that she was once the guardian of your village. Then, she heard a foresaw future from the Angel of Dream and tried to prevent the tragedy by asking help from the capital through the prophet" "But then..." The next sentence made Choi Kwan widened his eyes in anger as the corner of his eyes turned red from madness. "...The prophet betrayed her and told a lie to the higher ups of the capital" "The prophet said that if they help the villagers of your village then a great calamity will happen them and so decided to sacrifice the villagers for their own sake as they easily believed the prophet''s words" "That''s why they died." "..." Silence befall on us and the only sound we could hear is the sound of winds blowing crazily. Seeing him silent I turned and said "Well, that''s all" and was about to leave when I halted after hearing Choi Kwan speak. "So...who is at fault here then?" I was hesitant before I turned to look at him straight into the eyes with a sad expression. Finally, I opened my mouth reluctantly and spoke. "The foresaw future, the goddess of light seeking for help, the prophet''s lies, all of them...were all planned by ''Fate'' itself" Hearing this Choi Kwan recalled my words when we first met each other. - My goal is to bring justice upon my friends death - They were off an a mission to hunt down monsters, but unexpectedly the monsters were A - Grade above. When I was informed and arrived, it was already too late - And that''s, when I found out that it was all a set up, by ''Fate''. ''Fate...is this a real thing?'' Choi Kwan thought. After a while seeing that he still has not spoken I turned around. Then, he finally spoke. "Then i-!" I stopped and asked "You''ll what?" Choi Kwan had the look of determination in his eyes and said as he placed his hand on his chest, "I shall become stronger, and will also destroy this thing called fate!" Seeing that my plan is coming together I finally went to the main point. "Then are you willing to join my organization?" "Organization...?" I hummed in reply and said as I looked at the black sky, "I''m thinking of creating a group where the members are seeking to find information about the entire omniverse aswell as-...destroying ''Fate''." Then, I chuckled and asked, "Do you think i sound too ambitious?" Just as I was thinking to myself I suddenly heard a confident voice from behind. "Not at all" I was surprised when I heard his confident answer and looked back to see him smiling. "Constellation-...no, Kim Su-Jin, I can already see it" Choi Kwan said which made me puzzled. "What do you mean?" Hearing my puzzlement Choi Kwan''s lips curled up even more and he said, "I can see that you are not a bad person, and that somehow, I don''t feel like what you said us impossible at all. If you think about destroying fate makes you sound like a crazy person, then that means I''m also a crazy person" I was stunned for a long time before I couldn''t help laughing out a loud. "Yeah...that''s right" After saying this I turned and said "Well, get some rest. We''ll be staying here a little while longer" before finally leaving. The moment my back disappeared from Choi Kwan''s sight he couldn''t help being lost in thought as he narrowed his eyes. ''Fate....how excruciating knowing that it can control everything'' He raised his palm before clenching it into a fist as he swore, ''I''ll make sure I''ll destroy it, no matter what! I must get stronger!'' .... Getting back at the house I found that I was all alone and decided to check my status.
