《A Slave's Escape》 Escaping to the new World Moonlight filtered through the dense canopy above, casting eerie shadows on the forest floor as Ruby Stonebrook raced through the underbrush. Her breath came in ragged gasps, her chest heaving with the strain of her desperate flight. She clutched her midsection protectively, doing her best to shield her unborn children from any harm. "Stay safe, little ones," she whispered to them between labored breaths. The baying of hounds echoed in the distance, a chilling reminder of the relentless pursuit that dogged her heels. The voices of the men who hunted her rang out too, their cruel words and sinister laughter fueling her determination to escape. Ruby''s wine-red hair streamed behind her like a wild, untamed river as she wove her way between gnarled trees and tangled vines. Her lavender eyes darted back and forth, scanning the darkness for any sign of refuge or reprieve. Those same eyes, once bright and full of life, now bore the weight of exhaustion and fear - a testament to the horrors she had endured. Her porcelain white skin was marred by bruises and scrapes, evidence of her harrowing journey thus far. The once-vibrant woman looked sickly and gaunt, her body pushed to its limits by the demands of both her pregnancy and her flight from captivity. "Please," she murmured to herself, "please let me find somewhere to hide." As Ruby stumbled onward, her thoughts turned inward, focusing on the lives growing within her. She knew she would do anything - face any danger, endure any pain - to ensure their safety. They were her reason for running, her motivation to keep pushing forward no matter how much her body screamed for rest. "Mommy''s going to get us out of here," she promised her unborn children, tears welling in her eyes. "I won''t let them hurt you. I promise." With every pounding heartbeat, the voices of her pursuers grew closer, their hateful words driving her onward. Ruby''s mind raced as quickly as her feet, searching for a plan, an escape, anything to keep her and her children safe. She knew she couldn''t run forever, but she also knew that giving up was not an option. "Stay with me," she whispered, determination etched into her every feature. "We''ll make it through this together." A beam of sunlight peeked through the dense forest canopy, illuminating a small cave entrance hidden among the roots and undergrowth. With desperation fueling her, Ruby stumbled towards it, a flicker of hope igniting within her. The cave seemed like a blessing, a chance to hide from her relentless pursuers. "Please be deep enough," she panted as she entered the darkness, her hand reaching out to touch the damp, cold walls for guidance. She felt the cave''s walls close in around her, but she didn''t let that deter her. Her children needed her, and she couldn''t afford to falter now. "Almost there," she muttered, trying to reassure herself even as her legs began to tremble with exhaustion. The cave seemed impossibly long, its depths shrouded in darkness. Every step she took echoed through the cavern, amplifying her fear and confusion. "Why can''t I find the back?" As she ventured deeper into the cave, a faint glow appeared ahead of her, beckoning her towards it. At the same time, the barks of the hounds and the shouts of their handlers grew louder, echoing down the tunnel and spurring her onward. "Can''t give up now," she thought, gritting her teeth and forcing her tired legs to keep moving. Each step was a battle, her body begging her to stop, but her willpower driving her forward. "For my children, I must go on." As the light grew closer, Ruby tried to steady her breathing, her heart pounding wildly in her chest. The sound of her pursuers seemed to be closing in from every direction, threatening to swallow her whole. "Stay strong, little ones," she whispered to her unborn children, her voice trembling with determination. "We''ll escape this nightmare together." The light before her seemed to grow brighter, offering the promise of safety and salvation. With one last burst of energy, Ruby pushed herself towards it, her legs shaking and her vision blurring as she prayed for a miracle. With a gasp, Ruby emerged into the light, her eyes struggling to adjust after the darkness of the cave. The world that greeted her was unlike anything she had ever seen before. A cacophony of rushing water filled her ears as she took in the sight of a wide river, its crystalline waters cascading over a series of waterfalls before her. On either side of the river lay vast plains, stretching out to the horizon and blanketed in vibrant green grass that swayed gently in the breeze. Reading on this site? "How could something so beautiful exist?" As she cautiously approached the river''s edge, a majestic creature caught her eye. It was a lion ¨C but not just any lion. This beast was more magnificent than any she had ever seen or heard of. Its snowy white fur shimmered in the sunlight, making it appear almost otherworldly. Its large, fluffy mane framed a regal face with piercing icy blue eyes that seemed to see straight through her very soul. Ruby held her breath as she watched the lion drink from the river, its pink tongue lapping at the cool water. She noticed the bloodstained mane and the lifeless deer lying nearby, realizing that this magnificent creature was both powerful and dangerous. "Are you... are you a protector?" Ruby asked hesitantly, her voice trembling with both fear and curiosity. "Or do I have even more to fear from you?" The lion looked up from the water, locking eyes with Ruby. For a moment, time seemed to stand still as they regarded one another in silence. Then, without warning, the lion let out a low growl, causing Ruby''s heart to race. "Please," she whispered, her hand instinctively resting on her belly. "I mean you no harm. I just... I need to protect my children." She wondered if the lion could sense her desperation, or if it would simply see her as another meal. But there was something in those icy blue eyes that made Ruby believe this creature might be different ¨C that it might be more than just a fearsome predator. "Can you understand me?" she asked, her voice cracking with emotion. "Or am I just a foolish woman talking to a wild animal?" The lion''s gaze never wavered, and for a moment, Ruby thought she saw a flicker of understanding in its eyes. Taking a deep breath, Ruby mustered the courage to approach the lion. Each careful step brought her closer to the majestic creature, her heart pounding in her chest. As she reached out her hand, the lion chuffed at her, and she froze in place. "Easy now," Ruby whispered softly, trying to maintain a calm demeanor despite her fear. "I don''t want to hurt you." The lion sniffed at her extended hand, its icy blue eyes seemingly peering into her very soul. It was then that the beast''s nostrils flared and it seemed to recognize her pregnancy. Surprisingly, Leon showed concern as he picked up a piece of the deer meat with his powerful jaws, dropping it at Ruby''s feet. She smiled cautiously, glancing around the area with apprehension. "Thank you," she said quietly, beginning a one-sided conversation as Leon responded with grunts and growls. Gathering twigs and dry leaves, Ruby built a small fire, her movements capturing Leon''s curiosity. As the flames danced, she skewered the deer meat on a stick and began roasting it over the fire. "Before all this, I was kidnapped from my mother when I was just a child," Ruby revealed, her voice heavy with emotion. "Once I was able to have children, I was passed around, sold like property. My daughters who were born ungifted were killed... I couldn''t even birth a son alive." She turned her head, revealing five colored dots on the back of her neck, each representing an element: Fire, Water, Air, Earth, Spirit. As she spoke, Leon could not help but feel disgust at the horrendous treatment she had endured. He listened intently, his thoughts racing, while they both enjoyed their meals. "Despite everything, I''ve managed to survive," Ruby continued, swallowing hard. "And now, I''ll do anything to protect these unborn children." She glanced over at Leon, hoping that he could somehow understand her determination. As she spoke, the lion seemed to listen intently, his icy blue eyes never leaving her face. And in that moment, a bond began to form between them ¨C one that would change both of their lives forever. The fire dwindled to embers as Ruby''s exhaustion finally overtook her. She curled up near the warmth, allowing sleep to claim her. Leon watched protectively from the shadows, waiting until her breathing steadied before shifting into his human form. Tall and muscular with dark hair, he moved carefully, taking care not to disturb her slumber. "Rest now, Ruby," he whispered, as he carefully scooped her into his arms and carried her towards his village. The moonlight illuminated their path as they moved through the forest. Upon arriving at his hut, Leon laid Ruby down on a soft bed of furs and blankets, tucking her in gently. He then spent the remainder of the night fashioning salves for her bruises and sewing together a simple dress for her to wear in the morning. "Stay strong, little ones," he murmured to Ruby''s belly, his thoughts filled with determination to keep both mother and children safe. Morning light filtered through the cracks in the hut walls, casting golden rays onto Ruby''s face. A soft, wet sensation stirred her from her dreams ¨C the gentle prodding of a lion cub''s paw. Groggy and disoriented, she blinked at the small creature batting her cheek playfully. "Hey there," she whispered, rubbing her eyes. A male voice suddenly growled, and a tall man snatched the cub up by the scruff of its neck. "Cub! You shouldn''t bother our guest," he scolded the cub, then turned to Ruby with an apologetic expression. "I''m sorry about that." Ruby''s heart raced as confusion and fear set in. This wasn''t her dank, dark breeding cell. Her hand instinctively went to her belly, seeking reassurance as she tried to make sense of her surroundings. "Here," Leon said gruffly, dropping a poorly made dress into her lap before stepping outside the hut. "Thank you," Ruby murmured, her voice trembling as she began to dress. As she pulled the fabric over her head, she whispered to her unborn children, "I don''t know where we are, but I promise I''ll keep you safe." Her thoughts swirled with uncertainty, wondering who this man was and what he wanted from her. She didn''t know who this man was or where that beautiful lion went, but she was determined not to live that life again. The village The door creaked open, and Leon entered the hut, his large, tawny hands filled with a steaming wooden bowl of stew. Ruby eyed him warily as she accepted the meal, her lavender eyes clouded with distrust. The steam from the hearty broth rose in tendrils, briefly obscuring her porcelain face before dissipating into the air. "Thank you," she said, her voice cold and guarded. Leon remembered what she had told him about her previous life and felt a pang of sympathy for her. He knew she had been through unspeakable hardships and needed time to adjust. "Enjoy your meal," he replied gently. "Once you''re done, I can show you around the village if you''d like." He retreated a few steps, allowing her some space. As Ruby cautiously tasted the stew, she couldn''t help but secretly enjoy the rich flavors that danced on her tongue. It was a relief to have something so solid and warm in her stomach after days of uncertainty. She devoured the meal quickly, savoring every bite. Setting the empty bowl aside, she ran her fingers through her wine-red hair, untangling the knots that had formed over the past few days. As she did so, she made a silent decision: she would cut her hair short, short enough that no one could ever hold her captive by it again. When Ruby felt more presentable in her new clothes and with a full belly, she glanced up at Leon and nodded, signaling her readiness for the tour. A flicker of warmth passed between them, the first tentative steps towards trust. "Let''s go then," Leon said, a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. As they ventured out together, Ruby couldn''t help but wonder what the future held, both for herself and for the others who called this strange, new world their home. The sun warmed Ruby''s face as they stepped into the village, its vibrant energy immediately enveloping them. Young male cubs playfully sparred with each other, eager to demonstrate their newly acquired hunting and fighting skills. Their movements were swift and agile, drawing occasional praise from observing adults. "See that group over there?" Leon pointed towards a cluster of males busily tending to various tasks. "They''re making sure there''s enough food for everyone in their home, while also caring for the cubs and their females." Ruby watched as the females sat in circles, chatting and laughing together, their voices harmonious and filled with joy. The air was filled with a calmness she had never experienced before, as if this place held a secret formula for happiness that had eluded her all her life. She couldn''t help but feel envious of the serenity and contentment that seemed to surround these women. As they walked further into the village, Ruby felt the curious gaze of the females upon her. Their eyes held a mix of pity and concern, making her suddenly very aware of her own frailty compared to their well-fed, cared-for appearances. Even the female babies looked healthy and plump, with rolls of fat that spoke of abundant nourishment. "Are you okay?" Leon asked, noticing the subtle shift in Ruby''s demeanor. "Y-Yeah," Ruby stammered, trying to brush off her insecurities. "It''s just... they all look so happy and well-cared for. I can''t help but feel... out of place." "Give it some time," Leon reassured her, his voice gentle and understanding. "You''ll find your place here too, once you get to know everyone better." Ruby forced a small smile, hoping he was right. But deep down, she couldn''t shake the feeling that she would always be an outsider, forever burdened by the ghosts of her past. As they continued their tour, Leon led Ruby past a group of young females who were engaged in animated conversation. Their laughter was infectious, and for a moment, Ruby found herself envying their carefree disposition. "Let me tell you a bit about how our village works," Leon began, his voice gentle yet informative. "You see, women are highly valued here because of their ability to give birth. They''re not treated as commodities like you have experienced.¡± He paused, glancing at her to gauge her reaction. Ruby nodded, urging him to continue. "Relationships in the village are quite different from what you might be used to," Leon explained. "Women have the final say in everything, including who becomes their mate and what happens within their homes. We respect and honor the choices of our women." Ruby listened intently, taking in his words as she scanned the village. She couldn''t help but wonder if she could ever truly belong here, with her own dark secrets and guarded heart. Leon''s description of their customs did make her feel more secure, but she knew it would take time to fully trust anyone again. As they walked, Ruby spotted an open area on the outskirts of the village, large enough for her to build her own house and perhaps even have a small farm. The thought of having her own space, completely under her control, brought a sense of comfort she hadn''t felt in years. "Leon," she said hesitantly, "I''ve been thinking... I''d like to build my own house." "Really?" Leon looked genuinely surprised. "That''s not something we usually do here. Most females choose to live with the mate who builds them the best house." "I know," Ruby admitted, looking down at her hands. "But, I need this. After everything I''ve been through, I can''t bear the thought of relying on someone else for my safety and well-being." Leon studied her for a moment, his golden eyes filled with understanding. "Alright," he agreed, "if that''s what you want, I''ll support you. We can gather some materials and get started on your house whenever you''re ready." "Thank you, Leon," Ruby whispered, her heart swelling with gratitude. She knew this was a significant departure from the village''s customs, but it was a necessary step for her to reclaim her independence and heal from her past. And as she stared at the empty plot of land that would soon hold her very own home, she couldn''t help but feel a glimmer of hope for her future in this strange new world. Love this novel? Leon approached her hesitantly, his golden gaze softening as he made a gentle offer. "Ruby, I could build your house for you, if you''d prefer," he said, trying to hide the hope in his voice. "Or, if you need time, you''re welcome to stay with me." She shook her head, wine-red hair swaying with the motion. "I appreciate the offer, Leon, but I can''t accept it. I need to do this myself." Leon''s ears drooped slightly, and his disappointment was evident. But he quickly pulled himself together, remembering the trauma Ruby had experienced and why she needed this independence. "Alright," he conceded, "but at least let me help you gather materials and tools." "Thank you," Ruby replied, her gratitude genuine. She knew Leon meant well, but she couldn''t risk having someone else hold power over her again. Over the next month, Ruby became more comfortable with Leon''s assistance as they worked side by side, crafting her clay ondol house. They talked as they gathered materials, Leon teaching Ruby about the flora and fauna of their surroundings, while she shared stories of her past life. It wasn''t long before they were laughing together, the bond between them slowly growing stronger. "Look," Leon called out one day, pointing to a small group of flightless birds known as Cluckies. Ruby watched as the chubby little birds waddled through the underbrush, their feathers a mixture of colors. "We could catch a couple for your chicken coup." "Great idea," Ruby agreed, a smile lighting up her face. "And maybe we could find some boars for a pig pen?" "Of course," Leon nodded, his golden eyes reflecting Ruby''s excitement. Together, they worked tirelessly, their shared goal bringing them closer with each passing day. As Ruby''s belly grew, so too did her trust in Leon. But she remained firm in her decision to build her own life, knowing that only she could ensure her safety and the safety of her unborn children. The sun dipped low in the sky, casting a warm glow over Ruby and Leon as they put the finishing touches on the chicken coup and pig pen. The golden light bathed the village in an aura of hope, reflecting the newfound sense of belonging that had blossomed between them. "Once we set up the storage shed," Ruby said, her eyes sparkling with anticipation, "I''ll finally have everything I need to start my new life." "Ruby," Leon responded softly, a solemn promise in his voice, "no matter what happens, I''ll always be here for you." And as the sun disappeared behind the horizon, Ruby knew that she had found something precious in this strange new world: a friend who truly understood her. Ruby''s swollen belly glistened with a sheen of perspiration as Ras, the village healer, placed his hands on it. The woman''s lavender eyes flickered with unease, but she remained still under the healer''s touch. "Two strong and healthy boys," Ras announced, his voice tinged with awe and pride. "Congratulations, Ruby." "Boys?" Ruby furrowed her brow, confusion written across her face. "But...boys take three seasons to grow while girls take two." Ras chuckled, his fingers still gently pressed against her abdomen. "No boys take two or less seasons depending on which beast kin fathered them. Besides there has never been more than one female born at the same time from the same mother." Ras shook his head with a smile, thinking how silly this woman was. As the realization dawned upon her, Ruby hesitated before deciding to confide in the healer about her past. She revealed the truth about her previous pregnancies and problems, watching as Ras''s expression shifted from excitement to fear. "Such information must be kept secret," he warned her, his voice barely above a whisper. "If word got out, we could find ourselves facing...unwanted visitors." "Swear to me that you will keep this between us," Ruby insisted, her voice trembling with determination. "I promise," Ras swore solemnly, locking eyes with her. Unbeknownst to Ruby, Leon had been waiting just outside the door, listening intently to their conversation. He had returned from gathering food and supplies for Ruby''s storage shed, an impressive haul balanced in his strong arms. When he heard the mention of her twin girls, his heart swelled with excitement ¨C yet he knew better than to let it show. "Hey, Ruby," Leon called out as he stepped into the hut, doing his best to hide his enthusiasm. "Look what I''ve brought for the storage shed." "Leon!" Ruby exclaimed, her cheeks flushing with embarrassment as she wondered how much he had heard. "Thank you. This will be perfect for storing my food for after the birth." As they worked together to unload the supplies, Leon couldn''t help but steal glances at Ruby''s belly, now aware of the two precious lives growing within her. A newfound sense of protectiveness welled up inside him, and he vowed to keep Ruby and her children safe from harm ¨C even if she never chose him as her mate. The sun dipped low in the sky, casting a warm golden glow over the village as Ruby and Leon worked side by side to put the finishing touches on the storage shed. A light breeze picked up, rustling the nearby leaves and carrying with it the faint smell of earth and wood. Ruby couldn''t help but feel a sense of contentment in this simple moment. "Leon," Ruby began hesitantly, "I spoke with Ras the healer a few days ago, and he...he told me something I didn''t expect." "What''s that?" Leon asked, pausing his work to look at her intently. "Ras believes I''m carrying twins," she confessed, watching his reaction carefully. "But I need you to promise me something, Leon. Promise me you won''t tell anyone about them." "Of course," Leon replied without hesitation. He remembered what she had said to Ras about how she always gave birth to twins or more no matter the gender. "Your secret is safe with me, Ruby." He gave her a reassuring smile, and she felt her heart flutter in her chest. Was this the beginning of love? "Thank you," Ruby whispered, and Leon nodded before returning to his work. As the last nail was hammered into place and the final board secured, Leon wiped the sweat from his brow and stepped back to admire their handiwork. "There we go. All done. What do you say we celebrate our hard work with some dinner?" "Sounds wonderful," Ruby agreed, her stomach rumbling at the thought of a hot meal. Inside Ruby''s house, Leon busied himself in the kitchen, expertly chopping vegetables and seasoning meat for a delicious stew. Ruby watched him from across the room, marveling at how effortlessly he moved about her home, making her feel completely at ease. As they sat down to enjoy their meal, Ruby couldn''t help but reach out and place a hand on her small baby bump. "I can''t tell you how grateful I am to have you here, Leon," she confessed softly. "Your presence lessens my fear of being recaptured by my previous owner and the owner of my unborn children." "Ruby," Leon said with fierce determination, his golden eyes locked onto hers, "I will protect you and your children with my life, even if you never choose me as your mate. You have my word." Tears welled up in Ruby''s lavender eyes, touched by his unwavering devotion. As they continued to eat, laughter and conversation filling the small house, Ruby realized that perhaps, just perhaps, she had found a place where she could truly belong. And as the last light of day faded from the sky, Ruby and Leon sat together, their bond growing stronger, ready to face whatever challenges the future might bring. Building the home The sun peeked over the horizon, casting a warm glow on Ruby and Leon as they exited their cozy hut together. Ruby lovingly patted her growing belly, feeling an intense craving for something sweet. Leon, ever attentive to her needs, kissed her forehead before heading off to hunt and gather fruits that might satisfy her cravings. "Take care of yourself and our little ones, alright?" he said with a warm smile. "Of course, Leon. I''ll be here tending to the garden and the animals," Ruby assured him, her lavender eyes sparkling with affection. As Leon disappeared into the forest, Ruby began her daily chores, humming softly to herself while she fed the chickens and goats. Her wine-red hair swayed gently in the breeze, the five elemental dots on her body glinting in the sunlight. "Good morning, Miss," a male voice called out, interrupting her peaceful routine. The speaker was a tall man with shaggy brown hair and a cocky grin. He approached Ruby, clearly attempting to charm her with his swagger. "Morning," she replied curtly, trying to ignore him as she continued her tasks. She knew what kind of attention courting males gave to pregnant women, especially those who carried powerful offspring like hers. "Leon''s not around, huh? Maybe I can keep you company instead." The man reached out to touch her arm, a suggestive glint in his eye. Ruby''s hair ignited in a sudden burst of flame, fueled by her anger at the audacious stranger. "Touch me again, and I''ll rip your dick off and shove it down your throat!" she snarled, her voice fierce and commanding. The crowd that had gathered to watch the spectacle gasped in shock and fear, but Ruby held her ground, staring them down with disdain. "I am carrying children, not looking for more mates! Leave me be!" she demanded, her eyes flashing with irritation. The random male retreated hastily, his face pale from the intensity of her threat. The villagers stared wide-eyed at Ruby, their mouths agape as they witnessed the wrath of a woman pushed too far. Her flaming hair cast an eerie glow upon her face, amplifying the fierce determination in her lavender eyes. Hearts pounded and breaths hitched as Ruby stood there, irritation radiating from her like heat from a fire. "Enough!" she roared, taking a deep breath to calm herself. With each exhale, her flaming hair flickered and died down until only her natural wine-red locks remained. The villagers hesitated, still fearful but mesmerized by the transformation. Just then, Leon returned, his strong arms laden with a basket brimming with exotic fruits: red and white dragon fruit, purple apples, and blue oranges. His eyes narrowed as he took in the scene before him ¨C Ruby standing defiantly against the crowd, their unborn children clearly causing a commotion. With a fierce growl, he rushed to Ruby''s side, shooing the onlookers away. "Get back to your own business!" he barked, glaring daggers at the male who had started it all. The man quivered under Leon''s fierce gaze and slunk away, chastened and defeated. "Are you alright?" Leon asked Ruby gently, his concern evident in his voice. "I''m fine," she sighed, stepping away from the dispersing crowd. "But let''s get inside." Leon''s muscular arm wrapped protectively around Ruby as he guided her back into the safety of their hut. He closed the door behind them, shutting out the whispers and stares that followed them. "Here, sit down. You need to rest," Leon insisted, urging Ruby into a comfortable chair. He began peeling the fruits he had gathered and offered them to her, his eyes never leaving her face. "Thank you," Ruby murmured, savoring the sweet flavors as she bit into a slice of purple apple. "This is delicious." "Ruby, I''m sorry for leaving you alone," Leon apologized, his voice laced with guilt. "I didn''t think any of these idiots would bother you." "It''s not your fault," Ruby reassured him, placing a hand on his arm. Leon nodded and sighed. ¡°This is how relationships work here. Females take many males on. You only have me so other males think they can approach you. Well, until now. I doubt they will bother you.¡± He chuckled at the last part. "That''s why that man approached me today," Ruby mused, her anger now replaced with understanding. "I don''t blame you, Leon. I need to learn a little bit more about these customs." "Agreed," he said firmly, squeezing her hand in solidarity. "We''ll show them that we''re a family, and no one can come between us." As they sat together, their loyalty shining brighter than any flame, Ruby and Leon vowed to protect her growing family from the challenges that lay ahead. The days stretched into weeks, and the once-blossoming flowers of spring gave way to the sweltering heat of summer. Ruby''s garden was now a lush oasis of vibrant colors and tantalizing scents, bees humming lazily as they pollinated the blossoms. The air was thick with humidity, causing everything to feel sticky and damp. Leon had taken to hunting in the cooler hours of early morning and late evening, bringing back fresh game for their meals. "Leon, this stew smells incredible," Ruby said, her hands resting on her swollen belly. She was heavily pregnant now, and it seemed like any day she would give birth. Her body ached constantly, but she tried not to complain too much. Leon was already fussing over her enough as it was. "Thanks," he replied, ladling generous portions into two bowls. "I found some tender venison today." As they ate, Ruby couldn''t help but think about the impending arrival of their children. While she was excited, there was a nagging worry that wouldn''t leave her mind. "Leon," she began hesitantly, "I need to talk to you about something. You know how my abilities are represented by colored dots on my body?" "Of course," he said, looking concerned. "Is something wrong?" "No, not exactly," she sighed. "It''s just that if a newborn has only a single red or blue dot, they can''t regulate their body temperature. I''ve heard it can be fatal for them." This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report. "Ruby," Leon reached across the table, placing his hand over hers. "We''ll do whatever we have to do to protect our children." "Thank you, Leon." She smiled, touched by his unwavering support. "There might be a solution. Do you know of any beast kin who are snake or lizard-like? If we could find one small enough to keep near our babies, it might help regulate their temperature if they have a red single dot. And if one has a blue dot, maybe we could take in a lion cub for the same reason." Leon thought for a moment, his brows furrowed as he considered her request. "I think I know where to find some snake or lizard beast kin. And I''m certain we can find a suitable lion cub among my kin," he said, determination in his eyes. "Thank you, Leon," Ruby said, relief flooding her. "I know it''s not ideal, but knowing that we''re prepared makes me feel so much better." "Anything for you and our children, Ruby," Leon promised, love shining in his gaze. And as the sun sank below the horizon, casting the world in hues of orange and pink, Ruby knew that together, they would face whatever challenges awaited them. The sun rose over the village, casting golden rays on the thatched roofs and dew-kissed grass. Leon stood outside his hut, deep in thought, as he watched the lion cubs romping playfully nearby. The weight of Ruby''s request settled heavily on his shoulders, but he was determined to find a solution for their children''s safety. "Alright, little ones," he murmured to himself, studying each cub''s features and behavior, searching for one that would be gentle enough to protect their vulnerable newborns. In the distance, he could see the tree line where he knew snake and lizard beast kin resided. He made a mental note to investigate further when he had a moment to spare. The sound of footsteps approaching caught Leon''s attention, and he turned to see Ras making his way toward them. "Morning, Leon," Ras greeted with a warm smile, his eyes flicking briefly to the cubs before settling on Leon''s face. "How''s Ruby doing?" "Getting closer to her due date," Leon replied, concern lacing his voice. "She''s been having some worries about the babies, though." "Ah, I see," Ras said, nodding understandingly. "Well, why don''t I drop by and check on her after lunch? It might help ease her mind." "Thank you, Ras," Leon said, grateful for the offer. "I''ll let her know you''re coming by." As the day wore on, Ruby prepared lunch while chatting amiably with Ras, who had stopped by as promised. The healer gave her a careful examination, ensuring both she and the twins were in good health. "Everything looks fine, Ruby," Ras assured her with a smile. "Just try to take it easy until the birth." "Thank you, Ras," Ruby replied, relief evident in her eyes. Leon, who had been hovering close by, finally spoke up. "What can we expect during the birth? How can I best support Ruby?" "Ah, Leon," Ras chuckled, appreciating his concern. "You''ll make a fine laboring partner. Just stay by her side, keep her comfortable, and focus on her needs. I''ll be there to help with the actual delivery." "Thank you," Leon said, though his eyes remained clouded with worry. "Leon," Ruby reassured him, reaching out to grasp his hand. "This isn''t my first pregnancy. I know what to expect, and you''ll be wonderful. I trust you." "Alright," he conceded, his heart swelling with love for Ruby and their unborn children. "I''ll do whatever it takes." "Good," Ras said, nodding approvingly. "Now, remember, I''ll be here to help as soon as labor begins. You won''t have to face this alone." With that promise, the room seemed to breathe a collective sigh of relief, and the trio shared a moment of camaraderie, bonded by their shared concern for Ruby and the twins. A few nights later, Ruby was waddling around the hut with one hand on her swollen belly and the other massaging her lower back. The first pangs of labor had started, causing her to breathe deeply and attempt to ease the discomfort. Leon watched her intently, his protective instincts heightened. "Leon," Ruby huffed between breaths, "it''s time. You need to fetch Ras." "Are you sure?" he asked, hesitating. His eyes were filled with concern as he looked at her, torn between wanting to stay by her side and following her instructions. "Trust me, I know what labor feels like," she assured him, a weak smile tugging at the corner of her lips. "As my laboring partner, you need to focus on me. Ras can concentrate on our babies." "Alright," Leon finally agreed, his voice thick with reluctance. He shifted into his beast form and dashed out of the hut towards Ras'' dwelling. As Ruby tried to find a comfortable position, she could hear the steady rhythm of Leon''s powerful strides in the distance. When Leon returned, he shifted back to his human form and positioned himself behind Ruby who relaxed into his touch. He began massaging her abdomen gently looking at her naked form with a smile. "Ras will be here soon," Leon informed Ruby. His touch felt warm and comforting, helping to ease some of her anxiety. Ruby nodded, her breathing becoming more labored as the contractions grew stronger and closer together. Time seemed to stretch on, each minute feeling like an eternity. Finally, Ras arrived, his calm demeanor instantly soothing the tense atmosphere within the hut. "Let''s help you get into a better position," Ras suggested, his experienced hands guiding Ruby as she adjusted herself. She sat tall on her knees, her butt sticking out slightly and her legs spread wide. She gripped Leon''s shoulders tightly, pressing her head against his clavicle as waves of pain washed over her. Ras positioned himself between her legs, soft hide in his hands, ready to guide the first child into the world. Ruby panted and groaned, the intensity of her contractions increasing until, finally, the first baby emerged. Ras quickly cleaned off the newborn before handing her to Ruby. Just when Ruby thought she could take a moment to catch her breath, another surge of pain signaled the arrival of the second twin. With Ras'' help, the second child was soon born, leaving Ruby exhausted but filled with indescribable joy. "Good job, Ruby," Ras praised her, wiping away the sweat from her forehead. Leon, too, beamed with pride and love for their new family. "Thank you both," Ruby whispered, overcome with emotion as she cradled her newborn daughters in her arms. "We did it." The soft glow of morning light filtered through the hut as Leon gently eased Ruby down to her back, their newborn daughters cradled in her arms. Ras moved with practiced precision, cleaning up the twins and handing them back to their doting mother. "Meet your daughters," Ras said softly, his eyes warm with affection. Ruby looked down at the tiny bundles in her arms, her heart swelling with love. The first child had a light tan complexion and strawberry blond hair, along with a single red dot on the inside of her wrist. The second baby had snowy blond hair, pale skin, and a solitary blue dot on her ankle. "Beautiful," Ruby whispered, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "They''re perfect." Leon stared at the dots on their daughters'' wrists and ankles, his mind racing with the knowledge of what he needed to do next. "Ras," he murmured under his breath, "I need you to watch over Ruby and the girls. I''ll be back soon." "Where are you going?" Ras asked, concern etched across his face. "Trust me," Leon replied, his voice resolute. With that, he shifted into his lion form and bounded out of the hut, determination driving him forward as the sun began to rise. As he traversed the vast plains, Leon searched for the scaled kin he knew could help protect his daughters. Eventually, he came across a red and grey snake, its sinuous body coiled and ready to strike. With careful diplomacy, Leon negotiated with the serpent, convincing it to follow him back to the hut. By mid-morning, Leon returned to the hut, the snake nestled securely in his mane. As Ras prepared to leave for his daily rounds, he couldn''t hide his astonishment when the snake leaped from Leon''s mane and slithered in through the window. Inside, Ruby was sleeping peacefully, one baby on either side of her. "Thank you, Ras," Leon said gratefully, shifting back into his human form. "You can go now." With a nod, Ras departed, leaving Leon alone with his family. Carefully, he picked up the snake and brought it to the strawberry blond child, its presence a safeguard against the potentially dangerous effects of her dot. Leon felt proud of himself as the snake coiled itself on the baby. The naming ceramony The sun''s golden rays filtered through the trees, bathing the village in a warm glow as Leon observed the cubs at play. He had spent the past few days carefully studying each cub, looking for the perfect one to join their unconventional family. It was a delicate process, balancing the needs of the blue dot child with the strengths and potential of the cubs. "Look at him, Ruby," Leon said, pointing towards a large two-year-old cub with tawny fur and honey eyes. "He''s the smartest and most cunning of them all." Ruby watched as the young lion effortlessly outwitted his siblings during their games, gracefully leaping over obstacles and commanding attention from the others. She couldn''t help but smile, feeling a connection to the cub who would become part of her daughters'' lives. "Alright," she agreed, her voice soft yet certain. "He''ll be a good match for Damona." Over the next few days, Leon patiently taught the cub how to care for Damona, the blue dot child. Watching the tender interactions between the two, Ruby marveled at the depth of Leon''s love and commitment to their expanding family. As the day of the naming ceremony approached, Ras arrived in the village, his presence both imposing and reassuring. The villagers gathered around, eager to witness the important rite that would officially welcome the twin girls into the community. "Let us begin," Ras intoned, his voice carrying a quiet authority. He stood before Ruby and Leon, holding a small clay dish filled with ash and another with water. "By the power vested in me by the goddess Inanna, I name this child Bridget," Ras declared, dipping his fingers into the ash and gently tracing a symbol on the red dot girl''s forehead. Ruby held her breath, suppressing the discomfort that welled up within her at the sight of the foreign ritual. "May she be blessed with health, vitality, and fertility," Ras continued, his voice rising in a chant as he invoked the goddess''s favor. Turning to Damona, he repeated the process, this time using water for the blue dot girl. "I name this child Damona. May she, too, be blessed with health, vitality, and fertility." The villagers cheered and offered their congratulations, but Ruby remained silent, her thoughts spinning with doubt and uncertainty. The ancient rites felt alien to her, and she wondered if her daughters would ever truly understand the depth of her love and sacrifice. "Thank you, Ras," Leon said, extending a hand in gratitude. His simple words were a balm to Ruby''s unsettled heart, grounding her in the present moment and reminding her of the family they had built together. The sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over Ruby''s face as she watched Ras take his leave. The naming ceremony had been both beautiful and unsettling, but now that it was over, she found herself consumed by a fierce protectiveness for her daughters. "Leon," she began, turning to the lion beast kin with determination, "I''ve decided to give the girls my family name, Stonebrook. That way, no matter where they go or if they get separated, they''ll always be able to find each other." He nodded thoughtfully, his golden eyes reflecting the fading sunlight. "That''s a wise choice, Ruby. We should also give the scale kin and the cub those names to signify their relation to the girls." Ruby furrowed her brow, perplexed. "But don''t the boys already have names?" Leon shook his head, his mane rustling in the evening breeze. "Names are only given to those in human form. Until the boys have their first shift, they will be nameless." Pursing her lips, Ruby nodded in reservation, understanding the foreign customs of this land better now. She gazed at the snake and lion cub who played nearby, their eyes full of innocence and excitement. "Alright," she conceded, "but if the girls choose to name them, then that is what they will be called." The snake and lion cub looked up at her words, their eyes shining with anticipation at the prospect of being named by their respective mates-to-be. It warmed Ruby''s heart to see their eagerness, and she couldn''t help but smile, imagining the future that awaited them all. In that moment, the weight of her responsibilities felt lighter, buoyed by the love and support of her growing family. As the last rays of sunlight faded from the sky, Ruby knew that together, they would face whatever challenges lay ahead, bound by the unbreakable ties of love and the name they now shared: Stonebrook. The moon, bloated and full, hung heavily in the night sky as the first stirrings of Ruby''s elemental heat began to crackle within her. She could feel it, a smoldering fire that licked at her insides, urging her to seek out the comfort and release that only Leon could provide. As an elemental, it was her nature to be ruled by the moon''s phases, and tonight, the full moon held her captive. Ruby quickly put the girls to bed, glad that they were finally sleeping through the night at only a month old. She tucked them in as the boys curled around their respective female. "Sleep tight," she whispered, placing gentle kisses on their foreheads before turning her attention to Leon. He stood near the entrance to their dwelling, his nostrils flaring as he caught a whiff of the intoxicating scent that now clung to her. She had never been this close to him during her time of heat, and the unmistakable hunger in his eyes told her that he felt the pull just as strongly as she did. Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site. "Leon," her voice came out as a throaty moan, betraying her body''s craving for him. She closed the distance between them, reaching out to grasp his throbbing arousal through the rough fabric of his pelt skirt. Her heart raced as she felt the heat of him beneath her fingers, the insatiable need for him consuming her thoughts entirely. "Ruby..." he growled, his voice deep and rough with desire. His large hands gripped her waist, pulling her close against him as he pressed her back against the wall. "Tell me you want this," he commanded, his animalistic instincts flaring to the surface. "More than anything," she breathed, her lips crashing against his as she spoke the words. "If you don''t fuck me right now, I''ll find someone who will." That was all it took for Leon to lose any semblance of restraint. He tore away her clothes with a savage ferocity, exposing her pale, quivering flesh to his hungry gaze. As he lowered his head to take one of her breasts into his mouth, Ruby couldn''t help but gasp at the intensity of the sensations that flooded through her. Leon''s hot breath on Ruby''s neck sent shivers down her spine as he pulled his erection out of her reach, leaving her craving more. He began to explore her body with licks, nips, and kisses that set her skin ablaze, each sensation heightened by the intensity of her need. Her chest heaved as she moaned and panted, her heart pounding in her ears. "Please, Leon," she pleaded, her voice trembling with desire, "I need you." Ignoring her plea, Leon continued his journey down her body, reaching the slick heat between her thighs. He gently nipped at her clit, causing her to gasp and arch her back. His tongue deftly stroked her g-spot, each movement sending pulses of pleasure coursing through her. Ruby could feel her impending orgasm building, a pressure that threatened to consume her. "Leon...don''t stop!" she cried out, her fingers tangling in his hair as she bucked against his mouth. Her thighs tightened around his head, holding him in place as waves of ecstasy washed over her. The room seemed to spin as she rode the crest of her orgasm, a white-hot fire burning within her. As her body loosened its grip on him, Ruby dropped to her knees, desperate for more. She grabbed the hem of his pelt skirt and yanked it down, revealing his massive erection. Her small hands wrapped around the base of his length, her eyes widening as she attempted to take him into her mouth. She stroked and sucked in unison, working her way along his throbbing shaft with a voracious hunger. "Ah, Ruby," Leon snarled in satisfaction, leaning over to brace one hand on the wall while the other found purchase on her head. The sight of her on her knees before him, eagerly servicing him, was almost too much to bear. As Ruby brought him closer to climax, Leon''s body began to quake, his grip on her head tightening as he tried desperately to maintain control. Finally, unable to hold back any longer, he released with a guttural growl, his body shuddering from the intensity of his orgasm. "Ruby," he gasped, his breathing ragged as he met her gaze. "You...you are incredible." "Leon," Ruby replied, her eyes shining with a mix of lust and satisfaction. "That was just the beginning." Ruby''s eyes shone with need as the heat coursing through her veins overflowed, her desire for Leon consuming her completely. "Please, Leon," she begged breathlessly, her voice thick with lust. "I need you inside me. Now." Leon growled low in his throat, his own arousal flaring to match hers. He took her by the hand and led her to a pile of soft furs, urging her onto all fours. As he positioned himself behind her, Ruby could feel the heat of his body radiating against hers, their connection electric. "Are you ready?" he asked, his voice rough with want. "More than ready," she replied, her impatience evident. With a primal growl, Leon plunged into her, his thick length filling her completely. Ruby whimpered in pleasure as they began to rock their bodies together, each movement bringing them closer to the edge. At first, Leon''s pace was slow and torturous, teasing her senses and building anticipation. But as their passion grew, so did their speed and strength, their bodies moving in perfect unison. "Leon, oh gods, yes!" Ruby cried out, her world narrowed to the sensations coursing through her. "Ruby...you feel so incredible," Leon managed to gasp between thrusts, his control slipping away as he succumbed to the pleasure of their union. As they reached their peak, Leon instinctively nipped at her shoulder, hard enough to leave a mark but not break the skin. The sudden sensation sent Ruby over the edge, her body quivering in ecstasy as her climax washed over her. She collapsed onto the furs, her energy spent, and quickly fell asleep. Leon lays down beside her, his powerful arms wrapping around her protectively as their breathing slowly returned to normal. As they drifted off to sleep together, a lion head mark appeared on Ruby''s chest just above her heart, a symbol of their bond that would remain forever etched into her skin. Ruby awoke the next morning with a start, her body aching and sore from the previous night''s activities. The memories were scattered, but she couldn''t shake the feeling of being overcome by her own desires. She stretched out under the covers, feeling the cool air on her naked skin. She tried to ignore the lingering sensations that still pulsed through her. Climbing out of bed, Ruby slowly made her way to the washing basin. As she dipped a cloth into the lukewarm water, she winced at the sting of the water on her tender flesh. With a sigh, she looked down at her chest and noticed the lion head mark just above her heart. Her fingers traced its outline, a mixture of awe and confusion filling her thoughts. A cry from the other room pulled her out of her thoughts as she wrapped a pelt around herself. She rushed to the other room where the girls were laying over the lion cub trying to reach the snake¡¯s tail. She scolded Leon for allowing them to play like that. He shrugged not seeing the harm as this was normal play for children. He glanced at her chest as she pulled a breast out to feed Damona, pride swelling across his face. ¡°That is quite an attractive placement.¡± He winks to her. Ruby looks down and sees a little bit of the lion head. She blushes in response to his flirtting. ¡°What is that?¡± She asks removing Damona to burp her. The act of patting the baby on the back caused the baby to fart, filling up her diaper. ¡°It¡¯s a mating mark, it means that we are partners now.¡± He states taking Damona to change her diaper. ¡°So, how often can I expect that desire you showed last night?¡± He jokingly asks. Ruby blinks in confusion as she puts her physical symptoms together. ¡°Oh¡that¡well every full moon, as long as I¡¯m not pregnant that is.¡± She murmers picking up Bridget to feed her from the other breast. Leon begins to cough, blinking and slowly looking at her in shock. She returns with confusion etched on her face. ¡°Um what?¡± He asks mid placement of a clean pelt diaper on Damona¡¯s bottom. ¡°What? Is that not how females are here?¡± She asked innocently. He shook his head slowly returning back to cleaning up Damona. ¡°No, females only act like that during heat season, which comes after the cold season. Maybe if a male is lucky she¡¯s like that for a week.¡± Ruby nodded in understanding as the information sank in. ¡°Ok, so this is another don¡¯t tell anyone situation right?¡± Leon nodded as he then took Bridget and burped her. Once the parents were fed, they left the girls in the home with the boys while they went about their daily chores, Ruby cleaning the home, feeding the animals, and tending the garden with Leon going out to hunt and gather. They both blissfully happy into their daily routine. Earthquake Under the silvery moonlight, Ruby''s wine-red hair glowed like embers as she cradled her daughters in her arms. The snake, usually a docile creature, had become tense and protective around Bridget, its small eyes narrowing suspiciously at any movement. "Alright, little one," Leon grumbled as he cautiously approached to collect Bridget for a diaper change. "I''m not going to hurt her." The snake unexpectedly lunged at him, fangs bared, barely missing his hand. Leon instinctively recoiled, his muscles tensing as he prepared to strike back. "Leon, wait!" Ruby cried out, her voice laced with panic. "We need to leave, now! Gather the village; the houses are going to collapse!" Leon hesitated for a moment, taking in the fear in Ruby''s lavender eyes and the urgency in her tone. Without questioning her further, he shifted into his beast form, his body covered in snowy fur, and let out a booming roar that echoed through the village. He sprinted through the dirt paths, his paws pounding heavily on the ground. His warning was met with confusion as heads popped out of homes. Females clutched their cubs while half-asleep shifted males positioned themselves for an attack. With no visible danger, they exchanged puzzled glances as Leon raced back to his hut. Ruby stood outside, her daughters wrapped tightly around her, the lion cub nestled between her legs for warmth. The snake coiled protectively around her neck, its scales glistening in the moonlight. The cool fall air hung heavy and still around them. "Ruby, what''s going on?" Leon growled softly, reverting to his human form as he reached her side. "I... I don''t know," she admitted, her voice trembling. "But I can feel it in my bones. Something terrible is about to happen." "Trust your instincts," Leon said, his eyes scanning the village. "We''ll protect the children and our people, no matter what." "Earthquake!" Ruby cried out, her lavender eyes wide with fear. The villagers stared at her in confusion, not understanding the urgency in her voice. That is, until the ground beneath their feet began to tremble. The earth''s vibrations grew stronger with each passing second, and Ruby knew they were running out of time. "To the river!" she shouted, urging the villagers forward. As they stumbled towards the river, the earth shook more violently, causing females and the young to trip and fall. Males caught them mid-fall, their strong arms providing some semblance of safety amidst the chaos. Behind them, the ground cracked open, as if a great maw was swallowing their village whole. Panic spread like wildfire, the males uncertain of how to combat this unseen enemy, while the females clung to their young, frightened for their lives. "Stay close!" Ruby thought to herself, gritting her teeth as she focused on her elemental powers. With a forceful gesture, she raised an earthen wall around the villagers, protecting them from the gaping chasm that threatened to consume them all. However, the crack continued to snake upwards, splitting the wall in half before the earth finally quieted down. "Is...is it over?" a newly shifted lion beast kin asked, his voice barely a whisper. "For now," Ruby replied, trying to sound confident despite the fear that clawed at her insides. She remembered the cave she had entered this world from, and made a decision. "Everyone, follow me. There''s a cave nearby where we can take shelter." "Ruby," Leon said, placing a hand on her shoulder. "I''ll take some of the males to see what''s left of our homes. We''ll catch up with you." "Be careful," she murmured, her heart aching at the thought of losing him. With a nod, Leon shifted into his beast form and led a group of males back towards their crumbling village. The flickering flames of the newly lit fire danced against Ruby''s wine-red hair as she formed a large clay cauldron out of the riverbank. Her lavender eyes, filled with determination, reflected the warmth of the growing blaze. She couldn''t help but feel responsible for everything that had happened, but she knew she had to stay strong for her daughters and the village. You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story. "Ruby," one of the male lion villagers called out, extending a clawed hand towards her. "We''ll take it from here. You go take care of those little ones." "Thank you." Her voice was thick with gratitude as she nodded and made her way back into the cave where her daughters were nestled. As Ruby entered the dimly lit cavern, she could hear the hushed whispers of the other women echoing off the walls. She tried to ignore them, focusing on her daughters'' tiny faces as they stirred in their makeshift bed of leaves and furs. "Did you see her hair turn to fire?" one woman whispered, her voice laced with suspicion. "It wasn''t just a trick of the eye. There''s something different about her." "Ever since she arrived, our lives have been turned upside down," another chimed in. "Our village stood for countless generations, and now...it''s gone. Just like that." Ruby cradled her daughters closer, biting her lip to keep the tears at bay. It hurt to know that people saw her as a threat, or even worse, a harbinger of disaster. But she couldn''t let their opinions dictate how she felt about herself; her daughters needed her to be strong for them. Heavy footsteps approached the cave entrance, and Ruby glanced up to see Leon and his party returning, their faces etched with defeat. She knew without them saying a word that their village had been swallowed by the earth''s gaping maw. "Ruby, the village is gone," Leon confirmed, his voice heavy with despair as he looked into her lavender eyes. "The earth hole travels out east, taking everything with it." A pang of sadness resonated in Ruby''s chest, but she pushed it aside. Now wasn''t the time for mourning; they needed to focus on survival. With determination fueling her, she finished feeding her daughters before handing them over to Leon, who held them close to his broad chest. Then, with her fingers dancing through the air, Ruby molded clay from the riverbanks into bowls, distributing them among the males so they could dish out food for the women. "Thank you, Ruby," one of the men said, his gruff voice softening as he took a bowl from her. "Please, make sure everyone gets some food," Ruby replied, her gaze flickering toward the females huddled near the cave entrance. As the sun began to rise, casting a muted golden glow on the land, the women''s complaints reached the ears of the males. The men exchanged glances before one of them stepped forward, speaking in a reassuring tone. "We promise, as the sun rises, we will spend the day rebuilding homes for you all." The cool morning air nipped at Ruby''s cheeks as the men gathered, discussing the best place to establish their new village. Leon, ever the strategist, suggested crossing the river since the crack hadn''t extended beyond it. "It seems safer over there," he reasoned. His words stirred something within Ruby, and she felt the pulsing energy of her elemental powers beckon to her. With a deep breath, she focused her mind and summoned a sturdy earthen bridge that spanned the width of the river. The men stared in awe, but Ruby''s thoughts were preoccupied with their next steps. "Thank you, Ruby," Leon murmured, his eyes filled with gratitude and a hint of concern. "We''ll take care of the rest." As the men crossed the bridge, Ruby couldn''t help but worry about the future. Would her elemental powers be enough to protect them from further disasters? And would the women ever truly accept her as one of their own? With a sigh, she watched the men disappear into the distance, their resolve as solid as the earth beneath their feet. For now, all she could do was hope ¨C and fight for the family and village she had come to love. The damp cave walls echoed with the discontented murmurs of the village women, their voices growing louder as they huddled together for warmth. Ruby stood apart from them, her heart heavy with the burden of their accusations. She held her children close to her, the lion cub nestled against her leg and the snake curled protectively around her arm. "Can''t you see it''s all her fault?" one woman spat venomously, glaring at Ruby. "Everything was fine before she arrived!" "Please, I never intended any harm," Ruby implored, her lavender eyes shimmering with unshed tears. "I would do anything to protect this village." "Ha! You expect us to believe that?" another woman sneered. "We''ve lived in peace for generations, and now our homes are destroyed!" Before Ruby could defend herself further, the men returned to the cave, their arms laden with food for the shivering females. Unmated males set to work preparing the meal while mated males wrapped their strong arms around their partners, providing warmth and comfort. Ruby remained outcast, her loneliness piercing her like a dagger. "Ruby," Leon whispered, kneeling beside her with furrowed brows. "What''s happening? Why are they treating you like this?" "Leon, they''re blaming me for the earthquake," she confessed, her voice barely audible. "They think my presence has brought disaster upon the village." He nodded solemnly, his gaze filled with understanding. "If the village decides to cast us out, we can only ask for leniency. If we remind them that you gave birth to two females after almost a decade of male births, perhaps they''ll allow us to stay through the cold season. We can leave during the heat season when it''s safer to travel." "Maybe," Ruby agreed hesitantly. "But we should wait to see if the others bring up the subject. I don''t want to make things worse by speaking out of turn." "Very well," Leon acquiesced, his hand gently squeezing her shoulder in a gesture of support. "But remember, we are not alone. We have each other, and our children. We will face whatever comes together." As the cave filled with the aroma of cooking food and the sounds of laughter from reunited couples, Ruby clung to Leon''s words like a lifeline. In this dark moment, she realized the true strength of her love for him, and the fierce determination that burned within her heart to protect their family ¨C no matter the cost. Leaving on an Adventure Under the full moon''s silvery glow, Ruby gazed at the vast night sky, her lavender eyes reflecting the celestial dance above. The gentle breeze rustled through her wine-red hair as she realized that the familiar warmth of her heat was absent. "Leon," she whispered, turning to her lion beast kin mate with a mixture of surprise and excitement. "I don''t feel the heat this time." Leon''s golden eyes widened, understanding dawning on him. "You mean... I''ve fathered a litter of cubs?" He grinned, his rough exterior momentarily replaced by genuine joy. "Yes," Ruby confirmed, but her voice wavered as she looked around their makeshift camp. The destruction from a few days ago still lingered heavily in the air, making it difficult for them to fully embrace their happiness. They had lost so much already and now they were bringing new life into a world filled with uncertainty. "Let''s not dwell on the past, Ruby," Leon said, sensing her worry. "We''ll make sure our family thrives." His determination was contagious, and Ruby couldn''t help but smile. Together, they would overcome any obstacles thrown their way. The following morning, Leon wasted no time in his mission to provide a safe home for their growing family. He ventured into the nearby forest, gathering sturdy branches, thick vines, and wide leaves. With each piece he collected, his vision of their new home took shape. Working tirelessly, Leon used the materials to construct a cozy dwelling, its design both practical and warm. The walls, made of interwoven branches and reinforced with vines, provided a strong barrier against the elements. Overlapping layers of leaves formed a waterproof roof that allowed soft sunlight to filter through. Inside, there was a spacious central area where the family could gather. On one side, Leon built a comfortable sleeping den lined with soft grass and moss for Ruby, himself, and their future cubs. On the other side, he created a storage area to keep their belongings safe and organized. "Look at what you''ve accomplished," Ruby marveled as she stepped inside, feeling the love and care Leon had poured into every detail. "Our family will be so happy here." "Anything for you and our cubs," Leon replied, his voice filled with warmth. They stood together in their new home, united in purpose and love, ready to face whatever challenges life had in store for them. A few days later, as the sun looked upon the completed dwellings with a warm smile, the sound of rustling leaves echoed through the air. Ruby stepped out from her new home, her eyes widening as she saw a group of panda beast kin stumbling into the clearing, their weary eyes scanning the surroundings. The village had grown quiet as lion beast kin watched the newcomers with curiosity. "Who are you?" Leon asked, his protective instincts kicking in as he approached the leader of the panda kin - a male who exuded an air of warmth and kindness despite his tired expression. "Ah, greetings," the panda replied, his voice gentle but firm. "My name is Bastion, and we come seeking a new place to call home. Our village was destroyed, and we''ve been traveling for weeks." Ruby observed Bastion, noting his comforting presence and the way he seemed to hold himself together despite his exhaustion. His body was strong, though not overly muscular, giving him the appearance of a loving father figure. As he spoke with Leon, she couldn''t help but feel drawn to his compassionate nature. "Please, let us join our villages together," Bastion implored, his eyes pleading with Leon. "Together, we can create something even stronger than before." Leon hesitated, glancing back at Ruby, who gave him a reassuring nod. He then turned to the other villagers, noticing how the females from both sides were already starting to mingle, the lionesses intrigued by the cooking skills of the panda males, while the pandas admired the strength and wisdom of the lions. "Very well," Leon agreed, extending his hand towards Bastion. "Together, we shall build a new future for all of us." As they shook hands, Ruby couldn''t help but feel a sense of hope blossoming within her heart. The mingling of their two villages held the promise of new beginnings and a stronger community, one where they could all find happiness and safety. "Welcome to our village, Bastion," Ruby said warmly, joining her mate and the panda leader. "We look forward to learning from each other and growing together." "Thank you," Bastion replied, his eyes shining with gratitude. "I can''t tell you how much this means to us." As Ruby and Leon showed Bastion and his people around their newly built homes, she felt a sense of unity and pride in what they had created. The merging of their two villages marked the start of something beautiful - a place where love, understanding, and acceptance would flourish for generations to come. Ruby watched as the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow on the village and its inhabitants. The children of both the lion and panda beast kin played together, their laughter filling the air. As she observed their new found unity, Ruby couldn''t help but feel her heart swell with joy. "Isn''t it wonderful?" Bastion chimed in, walking up beside her. His warmth radiated from his dad bod, which was more cuddly than muscular. "Our two villages, coming together as one." Ruby nodded, taken aback by how easily she connected with him. Bastion''s compassion and skill as a healer made him a natural companion, and she noticed Leon eyeing them warily from a distance. "Leon," Ruby called out to her mate, beckoning him over. As he approached, she flashed her breasts at him playfully, revealing the mark he had left over her heart. "I could never forget you, love. We are bonded for life." A mischievous gleam sparkled in Leon''s eyes, and he pulled Ruby close, nuzzling her neck affectionately. Unable to resist their passion, they retreated to the privacy of their home, where they tangled themselves in each other''s embrace, their naked bodies entwined as they celebrated their unbreakable bond. As the days passed, the once lush green leaves of the trees surrounding the village began to take on hues of red, orange, and gold. A gentle breeze rustled through the branches, carrying with it the crisp scent of autumn. The villagers worked hand in hand, preparing for the colder months ahead, their shared responsibilities forging an even stronger bond between the two groups. "Ruby," Leon whispered one evening as they lay beneath the blankets, their bodies pressed close for warmth. "Have you noticed how fast the seasons have changed? It feels like summer has slipped through our fingers." "Time flies when we''re busy," Ruby mused, her thoughts drifting to the village''s progress and the growing camaraderie between the lion and panda beast kin. "But it''s a beautiful reminder that life is constantly moving forward." "Indeed," Leon agreed, his breath warm against her ear. "And as the seasons change, so do we. We grow stronger, more resilient, and more adaptable. Together, we''ll face whatever challenges come our way." Ruby felt a surge of love for her mate, their bond unbreakable despite the arrival of new friends and experiences. As they lay in each other''s arms, listening to the wind rustle through the vibrant leaves outside, she knew that no matter what the future held, they would face it together, side by side. Soft whispers and hushed voices filled the village square, a stark contrast to the usual laughter and camaraderie that had once defined the idyllic settlement. Ruby stood at the edge of the crowd, her lavender eyes narrowing as she caught snippets of conversation, each word like a dagger to her heart. A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation. "¡can''t trust her¡" "¡destroyed our homes¡" "¡better off without them¡" "Enough!" Bastion roared, silencing the murmurs of discontent. The villagers turned to face him, surprise evident on their faces ¨C it was rare for the gentle healer to raise his voice in anger. "Ruby and her family have done nothing but help us since we arrived! We cannot turn our backs on them now!" "Easy for you to say," snapped a lion beast kin, his amber eyes flashing with resentment. "You''ve grown close to her, haven''t you? But what about the rest of us? We lost everything because of her!" "Those are just rumors!" Bastion retorted, his fists clenched at his sides. "You have no proof that Ruby is to blame!" "Regardless," interjected Ras, the lion village''s own healer, a coldness in his voice that sent shivers down Ruby''s spine. "We don''t need two healers. You can both leave." Ruby''s heart sank at the loss of a friend, but she refused to let despair take hold. She looked to Leon, who stood beside her, his jaw set and determination blazing in his golden eyes. Together, they would face this challenge, just as they had faced countless others before. As night fell, Ruby and her family hastily packed their belongings, their movements tinged with a bittersweet sadness. The warm embraces and whispered promises of support from those few who still believed in them did little to ease the ache in their hearts. "Ruby¡" Leon whispered, his eyes clouded with worry. "Are you sure about this?" "Leaving hurts," she admitted, her throat tightening as she spoke. "But we have each other, and that''s all that truly matters.¡± The sun crept above the horizon, casting a warm glow over the village as Ruby''s family and Bastion prepared to leave. The air was heavy with emotion, Leon and Bastion exchanging solemn glances as they stood side by side, ready to face the unknown together. "Remember," whispered one of the few remaining lion villagers who dared approach them, "you will always have a home here if you choose to return." "Thank you," Bastion murmured, his voice thick with gratitude and regret. He knew that his decision to stand beside Ruby and her family had cost him dearly, but he refused to abandon those who needed him most. "Are we really doing this?" Leon asked quietly, his eyes darting between the familiar faces of the village and the untamed wilderness that lay before them. His heart clenched at the thought of leaving everything he had ever known behind, but there was no turning back now. "Yes," Ruby replied, her voice determined yet laced with sadness. "We must." As they set off, their gazes lingered on the village one last time, the place they had once called home slowly fading into the distance. Leon''s chest tightened as he took in the sight, memories of laughter and shared moments echoing through his mind. Bastion, too, felt the sting of tears threatening to spill from his eyes, but he gritted his teeth and swallowed the sadness that threatened to overwhelm him. Together, the group ventured into the dense forest that lay before them, the trees stretching high above them like ancient guardians. Sunlight filtered through the canopy, casting dappled patterns on the ground and bathing the foliage in shades of gold and green. As they walked, the gentle rustling of leaves and the distant calls of birds filled their ears, creating a symphony of nature that both comforted and reminded them of the life they had left behind. "Stay close," Ruby cautioned their children, her eyes scanning the surroundings for potential dangers. With the girls nearly three months old and herself a month pregnant, she knew how important it was to find shelter and safe places to rest. As they continued deeper into the forest, Leon''s thoughts raced with concern for his family''s safety and well-being. He wondered if they would ever truly be able to escape the past that seemed to haunt them at every turn. But as he caught sight of the determination in Ruby''s eyes and felt the unwavering support of Bastion beside him, he knew that they would face whatever challenges lay ahead ¨C together. The sky darkened as heavy clouds rolled in, warning of an impending storm. As fat droplets of rain began to fall, Ruby''s heart raced with worry for her family. The forest seemed to close in on them, the once comforting sounds of nature now drowned out by the deafening drumming of raindrops on leaves and the occasional rumble of thunder. "Over there!" Bastion shouted above the noise, pointing to a small cave hidden among the twisted roots of an ancient tree. Relief washed over Ruby as they hurried inside, their clothes soaked and clinging to their skin. Exhausted, they huddled together in the dry sanctuary, catching their breath and listening to the rain pouring down outside. Bastion, ever resilient, wasted no time in starting a small fire, his eyes scanning their meager supplies for something edible. "Here, Ruby," he said softly, offering her a steaming bowl of mixed vegetables and nuts he had managed to scrounge up. "You need to eat, especially now." "Thank you," she murmured, gratefully accepting the food. Her belly ached with hunger, but she knew she needed to provide for the life growing inside her. As the lion cub and young snake huddled close, shivering from the cold and fear, Ruby and Leon wrapped their arms around them and their daughters, doing their best to offer comfort and warmth. "Everything will be alright," Ruby whispered, kissing their foreheads. "We''re on a new journey now, and we''ll face it together." Ruby''s gaze fell upon Bastion, who stood at a respectful distance, watching them with a mix of concern and admiration. In the short time they had known him, the gentle healer had already shown such care for her family, teaching the boys valuable skills for after their first shift. She felt drawn to him, as though an invisible thread connected their hearts. And she wasn''t alone ¨C she could see Leon''s appreciation for Bastion''s presence as well. "Leon," Ruby began hesitantly, her voice barely audible over the storm. "I''ve been thinking... about Bastion." "Me too," Leon admitted, his golden eyes meeting hers. "He''s been a true friend to us all, and he brings out the best in our family." "Would you... consider him as our next mate?" Ruby asked, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew this was a difficult conversation, but she also knew it was necessary. "Ruby, I love you with all my heart," Leon said, his voice choked with emotion. "And I trust you, completely. If you believe that adding Bastion to our family will make us stronger, happier... then I am open to it." "Thank you," Ruby whispered, tears pricking at the corners of her eyes. As the storm raged outside, their small cave became a cocoon, shielding them from the trials of the world beyond. Inside, they found solace in each other''s arms, drawing strength from their unity and looking toward an uncertain future with hope and determination. The first rays of sunlight filtered through the dense foliage, casting dappled patterns on the damp ground. Ruby woke with a shiver, the chill in the air seeping into her bones despite the warmth of Leon''s body against hers. She rubbed her arms and looked around at their makeshift camp, Bastion still snoring softly near the entrance of the cave. "Did you sleep well?" Leon asked, nuzzling her neck as he stirred. "Something feels off," she murmured, unable to shake the nagging sense that they were being watched. "Let me take a look outside, just to be safe." Leon kissed her forehead before slipping out of their cave. As Ruby tended to their children, Bastion roused from his slumber, stretching his limbs and yawning. "Good morning, Ruby," he greeted cheerfully. "I''ll start breakfast once Leon returns." "Thank you, Bastion," she replied, grateful for his unwavering support. No sooner had the words left her lips than an eerie howl echoed through the forest, followed by the sound of snarls and growls. Bastion''s eyes widened in alarm. "Wolves," he whispered, already moving toward the entrance of the cave. "Stay with the children, Ruby." "Be careful," she called after him, her heart racing as she clutched her little ones close. Outside, Bastion faced off against a pack of menacing wolf beasts, their black fur matted with mud and their yellow eyes glowing with malice. As they lunged at him, he deftly dodged and countered, his healer''s knowledge of anatomy allowing him to target their weak points with precision. The lion cub and snake bounded into the fray, the lion cub hurling the snake at a wolf beast looking to attack Bastion from behind. "Thanks, you two," Bastion grunted between blows, impressed by their teamwork. Leon soon returned, rabbits hanging limply from his jaws. He dropped them near Ruby and joined the fight, a fierce growl rumbling through his chest. With Leon''s added prowess, the tide quickly turned in their favor. The wolf beasts, sensing defeat, retreated with yelps and whimpers into the shadows of the forest. "Is everyone okay?" Ruby asked, her breath hitching as she emerged from the cave. "Thanks to Bastion and the cubs, we''re all fine," Leon reassured her after shifting back into his human form, pride shining in his eyes. "But we should move on. We don''t want more trouble." "Agreed," Bastion nodded, already gathering their few belongings. As they ventured deeper into the unknown, Ruby glanced back one last time at the small cave that had briefly been their sanctuary. She knew that finding a place where they could be accepted for who they were wouldn''t be easy, but she also knew that together, they were strong enough to face whatever challenges awaited them. "Come on, Ruby," Leon called, reaching out a paw for her to hold. "Let''s find our new home." Hand in hand, they moved forward, their eyes filled with determination and hope. For every hardship they''d encountered, they''d found strength in each other. Ruby carried the girls while Leon and Bastion carried the supplies. The little lion cub carrying the snake on his back. Ruby smiled at her little family, everyone helping out where they needed to. A Kiddnapping in the forest Ruby Stonebrook knelt beside a babbling stream, her wine-red hair cascading down her back as she tenderly bathed her infant daughters. The sunlight danced upon the water''s surface, and the gentle sounds of the forest enveloped them. She breathed in the fresh air, feeling a sense of peace that had eluded her for so long. With Leon and Bastion nearby, she knew they were safe. "Shhh, little ones," Ruby whispered lovingly, her lavender eyes softening as she looked at her babies. Her porcelain skin glowed with maternal warmth, though she was always mindful of the colored dots hidden beneath her clothes ¨C the symbols of her elemental powers. Leon, the gruff lion beast kin, stood not far away, preparing a meal for the small group. His usually stern demeanor had softened around Ruby and her daughters, a testament to the bond they had formed. Meanwhile, Bastion, the gentle panda healer, busied himself constructing a temporary shelter for their growing family. "Ah, my lovely girls," Ruby cooed, carefully wiping water from Damona''s tiny face. "You''ll be all clean and fresh now." Suddenly, a dark shadow fell over them, causing Ruby''s heart to jolt with fear. She barely had time to react before the shadow encompassed them, and they vanished without a trace. "Ruby?!" Leon''s voice barked out, his ears twitching as if sensing something amiss. He turned to Bastion, who paused mid-construction, worry etched on his round face. "I feel... something''s wrong." "Let''s check on her," Bastion suggested, abandoning the half-built shelter. They hurried towards the stream, certain that Ruby would never leave her babies unprotected. A lion cub and snake, sensing the tension, slithered and scampered behind them, unwilling to be left behind. The small group raced through the forest, each step amplifying their growing unease. "Ruby? Where are you?" Leon called out, his voice filled with fear and desperation. He scanned the area, hoping to catch a glimpse of her or their daughters. The once calm and serene stream now felt ominous and foreboding. "Leon, look! It''s their bathing cloths," Bastion said, holding up the discarded wraps left behind on the grassy bank. "Where could they be?" Leon''s mind raced, trying to piece together what had happened. Each possibility seemed more terrifying than the last. His chest tightened, and he clenched his fists in frustration, cursing his momentary lapse in vigilance. "Let''s find them ¨C no matter what," Bastion declared resolutely, his eyes glistening with determination. "Agreed," Leon replied, his heart pounding as they prepared for whatever lay ahead. With unwavering resolve, the small group ventured deeper into the forest, guided only by their love and devotion to Ruby and her children. Bastion''s heart pounded as he arrived at the stream, his eyes darting around the scene. Panic surged through him when all he found were the pelt wraps that had cocooned Ruby''s babies. The realization hit him like a punch to the gut - they were gone. "Ruby!" Leon roared, his voice echoing through the forest. He and Bastion exchanged a glance, their shared fear and determination unspoken. In an instant, they both shifted into their beast forms - Leon''s mane bristling with anxiety and Bastion''s panda fur standing on end. "Take the lion cub and search that way," Leon instructed, nodding to the east. "I''ll take the snake and head west." "Got it," Bastion replied, the lion cub hopping onto his back as they raced in opposite directions. Leon felt the weight of the snake curl up in his mane, its presence oddly comforting despite the urgency of the situation. Meanwhile, Ruby slowly awakened, her head throbbing with disorientation. As her vision cleared, she realized her girls were wrapped tightly in a strange web-like substance, their tiny faces untouched but worryingly still. She felt her heart clench, fear and anger bubbling within her. "Come on, work," she muttered, attempting to ignite a flame in her hands to burn away the webs. But try as she might, her hands only became warm, refusing to produce even the smallest flicker of fire. She growled in frustration, trying again and again, but to no avail. "Damn it," she whispered, looking down at her swollen belly. The pregnancy was affecting her powers - she knew it deep down. Her breath hitched as she contemplated the gravity of their situation, praying for a miracle to help them escape. Ruby''s eyes widened as she saw a dead boar lying at the entrance, its lifeless eyes staring blankly at her. "Who''s there?" she demanded, her voice trembling with equal parts fear and defiance. Silence answered her, and Ruby knew that if Leon and Bastion were to find them, they''d need help - and fast. Ruby''s hands shook as she sliced the boar open with a makeshift knife, its metallic tang filling her nostrils. She glanced up from her task, scanning the cave''s entrance for any signs of danger. Her heart pounded in her chest as she took in the sheer drop below them - they were high above the trees, nestled under a cliff that provided no easy way down. "Think, Ruby, think," she whispered to herself, her voice barely audible over the wind that whistled through the cave. Her daughters'' tiny breaths seemed loud in the silence, reminding her of their vulnerability and the urgency of their predicament. "Momma''s going to get us out of here, girls," she promised, determination steeling her spine. As she continued to carve away at the boar, her mind raced with plans to escape this precarious situation. Back on the ground, Leon and Bastion met up as twilight washed over the forest, casting long shadows that stretched like grasping fingers across the leaf-strewn ground. Both beast kin were frustrated and upset, their failure to protect Ruby weighing heavily on their hearts. "Any sign of her?" Leon asked, his voice low and tense. "Nothing," Bastion replied, his usual warmth replaced by a somber tone. "I don''t understand how we could have let this happen." "Neither do I," Leon admitted, his tail flicking irritably behind him. "But we''ll find her, Bastion. We have to." Just then, the snake beastkin slithered up a nearby tree, its tongue flicking out to taste the air. It returned moments later with a sticky web substance clinging to its scales, presenting it to Leon and Bastion. "Spider webs," Leon growled, recognizing the material immediately. He looked at Bastion, his eyes narrowing in determination. "We need to find the spider that did this." "Agreed," Bastion nodded, his own resolve strengthening. "But we need a plan. We can''t just charge in and risk endangering Ruby and her girls further." "Right," Leon said, his mind racing with strategies. "We track the webs back to their source, then scout out the area. We''ll wait for the right moment to strike." "Let''s do it," Bastion agreed, the two beast kin sharing a look of fierce determination as they set off into the encroaching darkness, the snake beastkin leading them deeper into the forest. As Ruby prepared food for her daughters and herself, she couldn''t help but wonder if Leon and Bastion were close by or if they had any idea where she was. Her heart ached at the thought of them searching for her, and she hoped against hope that they would find her before it was too late. As night fell, the temperature in the cave dropped steadily. Ruby huddled close to her baby girls, her breath misting in the frigid air. She could see Damona shivering, her tiny form looking weaker with each passing hour, and her heart twisted with worry. She murmured comforting words to her daughters, trying to keep them warm with her body heat and what little of her elemental power she could muster. The shadows danced and lengthened under the pale moonlight, their shapes stretching like sinister fingers reaching into the cave. An eerie silence enveloped the area, broken only by the sound of Ruby''s ragged breathing and the slow drip of water from the cave walls. "Hello, my dear," a voice suddenly whispered, its silky tones sending a chill down Ruby''s spine. Her lavender eyes widened in horror as a black widow beast kin entered the cave. His straight raven-black hair cascaded down his back, falling past his waist. Red glowing eyes stared at her intently while his fanged smile sent shivers down her spine. He appeared half-human, half-spider ¨C his upper body that of a man with skin the color of the moon, and his lower body that of a massive black widow spider. "Who are you?" Ruby demanded, instinctively shielding her daughters with her body. "An admirer," he replied nonchalantly, moving further into the cave. His spider legs clicked against the stone floor as he approached the remains of the boar Ruby had been preparing earlier. "Ah, you''ve left me some food. How thoughtful." With a disconcerting crunch, he began consuming the leftover meat. Ruby watched in disgust, her mind racing with thoughts of escape. She knew it was too dangerous to attempt anything now, especially with Damona in such a weakened state. But she couldn''t stay here forever. "Comfortable?" the black widow beast kin asked, finishing the boar and nestling beside Ruby. His body pressed against hers as if they were a loving couple, causing her skin to crawl. "Stay away from me," she hissed, her voice laced with venom. "Is that any way to treat your savior?" he purred, his breath hot on her neck. "I brought you here, after all." "Kidnapping isn''t saving," Ruby spat, her eyes darting around the cave for any means of escape. "Semantics," the spider replied dismissively. "One person''s rescue is another person''s abduction." He chuckled darkly and wrapped an arm around Ruby, pulling her closer. "For now, my dear, we are together. And I intend to keep it that way." Meanwhile, Leon and Bastion plunged deeper into the forest, following the trail of spiderwebs that seemed to lead them further into darkness. Their hearts raced, their minds fraught with worry for Ruby and her daughters. They knew that time was running out, and the image of Damona''s sickly appearance haunted them both. "Ruby...hold on," Leon whispered under his breath, clenching his fists in determination. "Leon, can we really save her?" Bastion asked, voicing the fear that hung heavy in the air. "We have to," Leon replied grimly, his resolve unwavering. "We can''t afford to lose her, or her girls. Not now, not ever." As the moon dipped lower in the sky, casting eerie shadows that danced among the trees, the fate of Ruby and her daughters seemed more uncertain than ever. The chilling embrace of the black widow beast kin threatened to smother her, and the weakening pulse of Damona''s life force wavered like the flicker of a dying flame. The Search The morning sun filtered through the leaves, casting dappled light onto Ruby''s face as she cradled her daughter Damona in her arms. A small sigh of relief escaped her lips as she noticed the color returning to the baby''s pallid skin and the blue tinge around her mouth fading away. Her heart swelled with love and gratitude, knowing that her little one had made it through the night. "Damona, my sweet girl," Ruby murmured, pressing a gentle kiss to her daughter''s forehead. "You''re going to be okay." As Ruby basked in the newfound hope, an ominous presence lurked in the shadows nearby, watching her every move. Arachne, the black widow spider beast kin, remained motionless, his eight legs poised to strike at any moment. His eerie appearance was a terrifying blend of human and spider; his upper body resembling a muscular man with an angular face and piercing eyes that were as dark as the void. From the waist down, however, his form morphed into a monstrous spider-like creature, covered in coarse black hair and ending in sharp, venomous fangs. "Such tender moments make for an easy kill," Arachne thought coldly, his gaze fixated on the unsuspecting Ruby and her daughters. Ruby, completely unaware of the danger looming over her, continued to whisper soothing words to her babies. She wondered if they could sense her fear, or if they knew just how fiercely she would protect them. As she adjusted her position, her lavender eyes caught a glimpse of something unsettling in the periphery. "Was that...?" Her heart stuttered to a stop, before picking up speed like a racing stallion. "No, it couldn''t be." Arachne, sensing Ruby''s sudden unease, tensed his body, preparing for the chase that was sure to follow. He hungrily anticipated the thrill of the hunt and the sweet taste of victory that would come with capturing his prey. With a sinister smile, he silently crept closer, ready to strike at any moment. "Stay calm, Ruby," she told herself, her heart pounding against her chest. "You''ve faced worse before. And you won''t let anything happen to your girls. Not now, not ever. Ruby''s lavender eyes narrowed with determination as she prepared to face the monster lurking in the shadows. She knew she had to buy herself some time, and even though her elemental powers were not at their strongest, she would use every last drop of energy to protect her daughters. "Alright, Arachne," Ruby whispered defiantly, her voice shaking slightly. "Let''s dance." She summoned what little control she had over the elements, concentrating on sending powerful gusts of wind towards Arachne, disorienting him for a moment. As he struggled against the sudden onslaught, Ruby ignited small bursts of fire around his position, further confusing the beast kin. "Is that all you''ve got?" Arachne hissed, his voice dripping with venom as he adjusted to the wind and flames. "You''ll have to do better than that!" "Watch me," Ruby retorted, her heart hammering in her chest. Cradling her daughters tightly against her, she made a split-second decision, knowing that there was no other choice. She leapt from the cave ledge, using her air gifts to slow their descent, praying that it would be enough to keep her precious cargo safe. As they plummeted toward the ground, Ruby''s mind raced, trying to recall every detail of the dense forest below. She knew these woods like the back of her hand, but being chased by an eight-legged monstrosity was a far cry from her leisurely walks of the past. The adrenaline coursing through her veins sharpened her senses, allowing her to maneuver through the trees with surprising grace. "Where do you think you''re going?" Arachne taunted, hot on her heels. "You can''t run forever, little girl!" "Watch me!" Ruby snapped back, her eyes darting left and right as she attempted to stay one step ahead of her pursuer. She could feel the wind whipping through her wine-red hair, the ground beneath her feet growing increasingly uneven as she sprinted deeper into the forest. "Mommy''s got this," Ruby whispered to her daughters, their tiny forms bundled securely in her arms. "I promise." Arachne''s grasp seemed always just inches away, his venomous fangs gleaming hungrily as he lunged at her time and time again. But Ruby refused to be caught, her determination to protect her daughters fueling her every move. As they continued their desperate race through the forest, Ruby knew that she would do whatever it took to ensure their survival ¨C even if it meant facing a monster like Arachne head-on. The sun dipped low in the sky, casting long shadows across the forest floor as Bastion and Leon stumbled upon a figure perched high in the branches of a nearby oak tree. The eagle beast kin''s sharp eyes scanned the horizon, his wings tucked neatly against his sides. In that moment, desperation clung to the duo like a second skin. "Please," Leon called out, his voice hoarse with urgency. "We need your help. My mate, Ruby, she''s in danger. If you help us save her and her daughters, we''ll welcome you into our family. You could even choose one of the girls when they grow up." Zion tilted his head, his piercing gaze fixed on Leon. "Zion is always wary of those who come bearing promises," he replied cautiously, his voice tinged with skepticism. "Why should Zion trust you?" "Because we don''t have time for this!" Leon roared, his frustration boiling over. He bared his teeth, but his eyes betrayed the sheer terror gnawing at his heart. "Ruby is being chased by a spider beast kin! She needs our help now!" Zion studied him closely, his keen eyes searching for any hint of deception. As the seconds ticked by, the tension in the air grew thick enough to choke on. When it seemed as if Zion would remain perched in his tree, unmoved by their plight, Leon continued, his voice growing steadier by the second. "You can see it in our eyes, can''t you? We''re telling the truth. We would do anything for Ruby and her daughters." You might be reading a pirated copy. Look for the official release to support the author. "Leon''s right," Bastion chimed in, his round face etched with concern. "We don''t want to lose them. Please, help us." "Very well," Zion said after a tense pause, his wings rustling as he prepared to take flight. "Zion will help you. But remember your promises." "Thank you," Leon breathed, relief flooding through him like a river breaking free of its banks. "We won''t forget." And with that, the trio set off in search of Ruby and her daughters, their hearts pounding wildly in their chests as they raced against the setting sun. "Zion hopes we''re not too late," the eagle beast kin murmured, his eyes scanning the dense foliage below for any sign of movement. "For their sake, and ours." Ruby''s breath hitched in her throat as she pressed herself further into the shadows of the secluded cave, her porcelain skin glistening with a sheen of sweat. The rhythmic rise and fall of her daughters'' chests offered little comfort, but it was all she had to cling to in this suffocating darkness. "Shh, my loves," she whispered, her voice barely audible even to her own ears. "We''ll be safe here. Mama won''t let anything happen to you." Ruby''s lavender eyes darted back and forth between her slumbering children and the entrance of the cave, her instincts screaming that danger still lurked nearby. Her heart pounded wildly in her chest, each beat threatening to give away their hiding spot. Meanwhile, Arachne''s eight legs scuttled over fallen leaves and mossy rocks, his eerie human torso perched atop his spider-like lower half. His black widow insignia seemed to pulse with malice as he honed in on Ruby''s scent, his determination unwavering. It wasn''t just about the hunt anymore ¨C it was personal. "Where are you, little firefly?" Arachne taunted, his voice a silken thread of venom. "You can''t hide from me forever." Ruby''s breathing grew more labored with every passing second, her fear and anxiety threatening to consume her. She willed herself to remain silent, knowing that any sound could betray their location. Her mind raced, searching for a plan, an escape route, anything to keep her precious daughters safe. "Please, Leon... Bastion..." Ruby prayed silently, her despair seeping into every fiber of her being. "Find us before it''s too late." The tension in the air was electric as Arachne drew nearer, his predatory senses guiding him ever closer to Ruby''s sanctuary. The steady drip of water from the cave walls echoed through the stillness, heightening Ruby''s dread. "Come out, come out, wherever you are..." Arachne whispered, his voice a sinister lullaby that sent shivers down Ruby''s spine. But Ruby held her ground, her protective instincts overriding her fear. She clutched her daughters close, their tiny forms a fragile anchor in the storm of terror raging around them. And as Arachne''s shadow loomed ever larger, she vowed not to give up without a fight ¨C for herself, for her daughters, and for the family that was surely searching for them even now. Leon''s muscles tensed as he prowled through the forest, his sharp gaze scanning every leaf and shadow. Zion flew overhead, his keen eyes darting from one treetop to another, searching for any sign of Ruby and her daughters. Both beast kin were driven by a sense of urgency that weighed heavily on their hearts. "Any sign of them?" Leon called up to Zion, his voice rough with worry. "Nothing yet," Zion replied, his sharp eyes narrowing in determination. "But we must keep searching. Time is not on our side." The two friends pushed forward, their shared resolve fueling their every step. They couldn''t afford to fail ¨C not when the lives of those they cared about hung in the balance. Meanwhile, back at the cave, Ruby''s heart raced as she considered her options. Desperation gnawed at her, but she refused to give in to despair. She needed to buy herself more time ¨C and she knew just how to do it. Drawing upon her elemental powers, she wove intricate illusions of herself and her daughters, sending them fleeing in different directions. To any observer, it would appear as though multiple Rubys were scattering into the shadows, desperate to escape Arachne''s grasp. "Where are you going, little mother?" Arachne sneered, momentarily confused by the sudden flurry of movement. Ruby held her breath, relief washing over her as she watched Arachne hesitate, unsure which illusion to pursue. It wasn''t much, but it was enough ¨C a few precious moments of safety that might make all the difference in the world. "Zion! Over here!" Leon suddenly bellowed, his voice cutting through the tension like a knife. "Did you find them?" Zion swooped down, landing gracefully beside Leon. "Footprints," Leon growled, pointing at the ground. "And they''re fresh. We''re close." "Let''s hope we''re not too late," Zion murmured, his eyes glinting with resolve. Together, they resumed their search, driven by a fierce determination to save their loved ones from the clutches of the sinister Arachne. As they pressed on, Ruby''s heart swelled with hope, her spirit buoyed by the knowledge that her friends were near. She knew that together, they could overcome anything ¨C even the darkness that threatened to consume them all. Sunlight filtered through the dense canopy above, casting dappled shadows across the forest floor as Bastion, Leon, and Zion raced beneath the towering trees. The air was thick with tension and anticipation, their breaths coming in ragged gasps as they pushed forward, desperate to reach Ruby and her daughters before it was too late. "Over there!" Bastion panted, his eyes wide as he caught a flicker of movement in the distance. "I saw something!" "Could be them," Leon said, his heart pounding in his chest as he surged ahead, hope flaring within him like a wildfire. "Stay alert," Zion cautioned, his keen eyes scanning their surroundings for any sign of danger. "Arachne could be nearby." As the trio drew closer to the source of the movement, they slowed their pace, muscles tensed and ready to spring into action at a moment''s notice. Their every sense was heightened, adrenaline coursing through their veins as they prepared themselves for the battle that surely lay ahead. "Ruby!" Leon called out, his voice hoarse with emotion. "If it''s you, please answer!" "Please, let it be them," Bastion whispered under his breath, his thoughts echoing the fervent prayers of his companions. "Wait," Zion hissed, his eyes narrowing as he detected a subtle shift in the atmosphere. "Something''s not right." "Arachne?" Leon growled, his claws flexing as he readied himself for a confrontation. "Perhaps," Zion replied, his gaze never leaving the spot where the movement had been. "Or perhaps another one of Ruby''s illusions. She''s clever, that one." "Either way, we need to keep moving," Bastion urged, his mind racing with the possibilities of what might have happened to their friends. "We can''t afford to waste any more time." "Agreed," Leon said, his voice laced with determination. "We''ll find them. And when we do, Arachne will pay for what he''s done." With renewed resolve, the trio pressed on, their every step bringing them closer to the confrontation that would determine not only their own fates, but the future of their family. The battle was coming, and they knew that they could not ¨C would not ¨C back down from the fight. ¡°Ruby," Leon whispered, his thoughts reaching out across the distance between them. "Hold on, just a little bit longer. We''re coming for you, and we won''t let anything stand in our way. The Fight A gust of wind danced through the forest, lifting crimson leaves into the air as Leon''s keen eyes followed the trail of footprints before him. He was a lion beast kin with a rough exterior; his face bore the traces of countless battles, but his heart held an unwavering loyalty to those he cared for. His brow furrowed in concentration, knowing that Ruby and her daughters were in danger. "Arachne!" Leon growled under his breath, spotting the black widow spider beast kin chasing after the swirling leaves. Arachne''s eight gleaming eyes narrowed in annoyance. Realizing that he had been distracted, Arachne hissed in frustration and doubled back to continue his search for Ruby. "Damn," Leon muttered, "we need to find Ruby before that monster does." Zion, the eagle beast kin with sharp eyes, nodded in agreement. He scanned their surroundings, his sense of responsibility weighing heavily on him. Though he appeared calm, his thoughts raced, desperate to find any clue that would lead them to their missing friend. "Over there!" Zion whispered, pointing towards a dense patch of bushes nearby. A small opening was barely visible behind the thick foliage. With cautious steps, he approached the hidden entrance, followed closely by the young lion cub and snake kin who had joined their cause. They sneaked in for a better look, wary of any potential dangers that could be lurking inside. "Stay close," Zion warned, his voice low and steady. The lion cub''s ears twitched nervously, while the snake kin''s forked tongue flickered, sensing the tension in the air. They knew that every second counted, and they couldn''t afford to waste any more time. The darkness within the cave seemed to swallow them whole as they stepped inside, the air thick with dampness and the musty scent of decay. It was an eerie silence that greeted them, broken only by the faint sound of dripping water somewhere off in the distance. The steady drips echoed through the cavern, the noise amplified by the black void that shrouded everything from sight. "Ruby!" Zion called out, his words bouncing off the walls, each echo reverberating through the emptiness. "Can you hear me?" His heart raced, anticipation and worry gnawing at him. He strained to hear any response, a whisper, a sob, anything that would confirm her presence. The lion cub whimpered softly, sensing the uncertainty in the air while the snake kin coiled around Zion''s arm, its body tense and ready for action. "Come on, Ruby," he muttered under his breath, more to himself than anyone else. "Please be here." The snake hissed, tasting the familiar scent of his beloved Demona and dashed ahead to a large rock. The lion cub taking his cue from the snake also dashed forward in excitement "Stay back," Zion instructed, concern etched across his features. He realized that whatever lay ahead, they needed to be prepared for the worst. The weight of responsibility settled heavily upon his shoulders, knowing that the lives of Ruby and her daughters might depend on their actions in these crucial moments. His resolve hardened, fueled by his determination to protect those he cared for. "Ruby!" he called out again, louder this time, desperate for any sign that she was nearby. "We''re here to help!" As his voice reverberated through the cavern once more, hope stirred in his chest, mingling with the anxiety that clawed at his heart. They had to find her ¨C they couldn''t afford to fail. In the dim glow of the cave, a sudden flicker of movement caught Zion''s eye. His heart skipped a beat as he focused on the shadowy corner, where a figure appeared to be huddled against the cold, damp walls. He squinted, trying to make out more details amidst the darkness. "Ruby?" he whispered, his voice barely audible. As he took a cautious step forward, the figure shifted slightly, revealing a flash of wine-red hair. Relief surged through him like a tidal wave. "Ruby!" he exclaimed, rushing towards her. "I¡¯ve been sent to find you!" As he reached her side, he could see the fear and exhaustion etched into every line of her face. Her usually radiant lavender eyes were now dulled, their light almost extinguished by the terror she had endured. She looked up at him, her gaze flickering with hope. "Where is Leon and Bastion?," she breathed, her voice weak but full of mistrust. ¡°They are outside. Arachne is on his way back to find you. You and your girls stay here. I¡¯ll leave you in the¡paws of the cub. He and this snake child seem to care deeply for you.¡± Zion stated. ¡°I am Zion.¡± Ruby attempted a small smile, but it was clear that the ordeal had taken its toll on her. She looked up to see the little snake and a cub on the rock she was hiding behind. She nodded as Zion left. "Thank you, Zion," Ruby whispered, her voice shaky but full of warmth. As Zion turned to leave and help Leon and Bastion, a sinister shadow materialized from the darkness. Heart racing, Zion steadied his grip on Ruby, his eyes locked onto the emerging figure. "Ruby, don''t be scared," he whispered, his voice strained with the effort to sound reassuring. "I''m not letting you out of my sight." "Zion...?" Ruby murmured, her gaze darting between him and the menacing silhouette that now stood before them: Arachne, the black widow spider beast kin. His human torso was muscular and powerful, while his lower body consisted of eight thick, hairy legs that clicked ominously against the cavern floor. "Ah, how touching," Arachne sneered, his voice dripping with venom. "But I''m afraid your first little meeting will be very short lived." Arachne laughed menicingly. "Stay back!" Zion snarled, positioning himself protectively in front of Ruby. "Or what?" Arachne taunted, his eight eyes gleaming with malicious intent as he lunged towards them. Zion could see the burning desire to recapture Ruby and her daughters in those hateful eyes; it sent a shudder down his spine. "Zion, we can''t fight him alone!" Ruby cried, her fear palpable as she clung to his arm. But in that moment, as Arachne bore down on them, Zion''s mind raced with a single thought: he would die before letting anyone harm Ruby or her children. "Trust me, Ruby," he said, his voice laced with determination. "We''ve faced worse threats before, and we''ll overcome this one too." "Your confidence is misplaced, bird boy," Arachne spat, closing the distance between them. His fangs dripped with venom, and his hairy legs scuttled, eager for the attack. And as Arachne''s spider-like legs clattered ever closer, Zion steeled himself for the battle, determined to protect those he cared about most ¨C no matter the cost. The sudden roar that tore through the cave was as fierce as it was unexpected, and in that heartbeat, Leon''s powerful lion form burst from behind a cluster of rocks, his golden eyes blazing with fury. Zion''s heart swelled with relief at the sight of his friend, knowing they no longer stood alone against Arachne. "Get away from them!" Leon snarled, his tawny fur bristling as he lunged at the spider beast kin. If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation. "Leon!" Ruby cried out, her voice filled with both surprise and gratitude. "You found us!" Arachne hesitated for just an instant, clearly taken aback by this new threat. And in that moment, Bastion and the boys emerged from their hiding places within the cave, ready to join the fray. "Let''s see how you like being outnumbered," Bastion growled, his normally gentle demeanor replaced by a fierce determination. He positioned himself near Ruby, prepared to offer his healing abilities to any who might need it during the battle. "Boys, make sure to watch each other''s backs," Zion instructed, his gaze flicking between the group, taking stock of their readiness. They nodded, their unique powers crackling to life in their hands, each one focused on defending their friends from Arachne. "Your interference changes nothing," Arachne hissed, his eight eyes narrowing with rage. "You will all fall before me!" "Big talk from a big bug," Leon retorted, his tail lashing as he circled Arachne, looking for an opening in the creature''s defenses. "Stay close to me, Ruby," Zion murmured, his focus on the battle unfolding before them. She clung to his arm, her eyes wide but determined. With a guttural cry, Arachne launched himself at the group, his legs scuttling and fangs dripping with venom. Leon met him head-on, using his lion-like agility to dodge and weave around the spider''s attacks. Zion marveled at his friend''s ferocity, feeling a surge of pride in their camaraderie. "Watch out!" one of the boys shouted, unleashing a blast of wind magic that sent Arachne reeling. The spider beast kin hissed in frustration, but quickly recovered, lashing out with newfound fury. "Stay strong, everyone!" Zion called, his voice echoing through the cavern as he fended off a flurry of strikes from Arachne''s legs. "We can do this!" "Ruby, if you can help without straining yourself, now''s the time," Bastion added, his healing energy glowing around him as he tended to a gash on one of the boy''s arms. "Zion," Ruby whispered, her hand trembling in his. "I''m scared." "Me too," Zion admitted, his chest tightening with fear. "But I know we''ll make it through this together." As the battle raged on, Leon''s powerful roars mingled with the cries of their allies and the sinister hissing of Arachne. Each heart-pounding moment was a blur of motion and emotion, and Zion knew they couldn''t afford to let up for even an instant. "Keep fighting!" he urged, his voice hoarse with determination. "Together, we''ll bring this monster down!" Ruby watched the battle unfolding before her, her heart pounding in her chest. Leon moved with a predatory grace, his powerful muscles flexing as he dodged Arachne''s strikes. Bastion''s hands glowed with healing energy while the boys unleashed their unique powers, all working together to fend off the monstrous spider beast kin. "Ruby," Zion whispered, squeezing her hand gently. "You don''t have to fight if you''re too weak. We''ll handle this." She gritted her teeth, determination flaring within her. "No," she replied, her voice hoarse but resolute. "I can''t just stand by and let you all risk your lives for me. I have to help." "Alright," Zion agreed, his eyes filled with concern. "But promise me you''ll be careful." "Promise," Ruby murmured, her lavender eyes shining with a fierce light. With one last deep breath, Ruby closed her eyes and focused on the elemental powers coursing through her veins. The colored dots on her body began to glow, each representing an element she could command. She felt the raw energy surge within her, and despite her weakened state, she knew she had to act now or never. "Arachne!" she cried, her voice echoing through the cave. "Enough!" The spider beast kin paused, turning his eight gleaming eyes towards Ruby. His malicious grin widened, sensing her vulnerability. "Ah, the mother finally decides to join the fight," he sneered. "How touching." "Leave my friends alone!" Ruby shouted, her hands trembling as she unleashed a torrent of elemental energy at Arachne. A burst of fire, water, wind, earth, and lightning erupted from her fingertips, momentarily stunning the monstrous creature. "Strike now!" she urged, watching as Leon leaped forward, his lion-like agility allowing him to land a devastating blow on Arachne''s softened carapace. The boys followed suit, their powers combining in a coordinated assault that sent the spider beast kin reeling. "Ruby, stay close," Zion warned, his hand never leaving hers as they moved together through the chaos of battle. His eyes were filled with admiration and fear, both for her bravery and the risk she was taking. "Stay down!" Leon roared at Arachne, who snarled in rage and pain but began to retreat towards the darkness of the cave, his limbs shaking with the effort of staying upright. "Let this be a warning," Bastion called after him, his healing energy still glowing around him like a protective aura. "Never come near Ruby or her family again." As Arachne disappeared into the shadows, the group stood together, panting from exertion but victorious. Ruby felt a surge of gratitude for the friends who had fought so bravely by her side, knowing that without them, she might not have found the strength to face such a fearsome foe. "I can''t thank you all enough," she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion. "You saved us." "Of course, Ruby," Zion replied, his grip on her hand tightening. "It¡¯s our job as males to keep you and your daughters safe.¡± The scent of damp earth and sweat filled the air around the group as they stood in a small circle, their chests heaving with exhaustion. Ruby leaned against Zion for support, her eyes closed, and her forehead dotted with perspiration. The adrenaline that had coursed through their veins only moments ago began to subside, replaced by an overwhelming sense of relief. "Is everyone alright?" Zion asked, his voice hoarse from shouting during the battle. He glanced at each member of the group, taking note of their various scrapes and bruises. "More or less," Leon replied, wincing as he flexed his arm, a deep gash marring the flesh there. "Nothing Bastion can''t patch up." "Indeed," Bastion nodded, already moving to help the wounded. His healing magic shimmered like moonlight, soothing their pain and knitting their injuries back together. "Thank you, Bastion," Ruby murmured, feeling the ache in her muscles begin to fade under his ministrations. "Of course," he replied softly, his eyes warm with compassion. As the group tended to their injuries, the reality of their victory began to sink in. A faint smile graced Ruby''s lips, her heart swelling with pride for her friends and their unyielding loyalty. "Hey, guys," Zion spoke up, breaking the silence that had settled over them. "There''s a Tiger village not far from here. We should head there to regroup and plan our next move." "Good idea," Leon agreed, his feline eyes flickering with determination. "We could use a safe place to rest after all this." "Right," Ruby said, nodding weakly. "And maybe we''ll find more allies there who can help us on our journey." "Let''s go, then," Zion urged, his gaze falling upon the dense forest that lay before them. "We should cover as much ground as we can before nightfall." "Zion''s right," Bastion chimed in, his voice steady as he finished healing the last of their injuries. "We can''t afford to waste any time." With renewed purpose, the group gathered their belongings and prepared to depart for the Tiger village. As they set off, Ruby couldn''t help but feel a blossoming sense of hope in her chest ¨C hope for a future where they could live in peace, free from the threats that had plagued them for so long. The first rays of sunlight pierced through the dense foliage, casting dappled patterns on the forest floor as the group trudged forward. Each of their steps carried a weightiness, a mixture of fatigue and determination to reach the Tiger village. "Can''t believe we managed to escape Arachne," Leon muttered, his lion-like agility betraying little of the exhaustion he felt. "Neither can I," agreed Ruby, her voice still shaky from the ordeal. "But we couldn''t have done it without each other." She glanced at her friends with gratitude, her heart swelling with pride. Zion, leading the way, paused for a moment to survey the surroundings. The snake kin''s keen senses detected subtle signs of a path ahead, one that could lead them to their destination. "This way," he whispered, gesturing for the others to follow him through the underbrush. As they continued, the baby animals ¨C a lion cub and a snake kin ¨C nestled close to their human companions, seeking comfort and reassurance in their presence. Even Bastion, the gentle healer, found solace in the warmth of their furry bodies pressed against him. "Zion, how much further do you think?" asked Ruby, her legs growing heavier with every step. "Shouldn''t be too far now," Zion replied, his eyes constantly scanning the environment for any potential danger. "Just keep moving." With each passing minute, Ruby''s thoughts veered between fear and hope. What if the people at the Tiger village didn''t accept them? What if they were met with hostility instead of support? She shook off the doubts, choosing to focus on the promise of a new beginning that awaited them. "Hey, Ruby," Leon said, noticing her furrowed brow. "You okay?" "Y-yeah," she stammered, forcing a smile. "Just... thinking about what comes next." "Whatever it is," Leon reassured her, "we''ll face it together. That''s what we do, right?" "Right," Ruby nodded, her spirits lifting. As the sun climbed higher in the sky, the dense foliage began to thin, revealing a sprawling settlement nestled at the foot of a mountain range. The sight of the Tiger village, with its sturdy wooden structures and vibrant marketplaces, filled their hearts with hope ¨C a testament to the resilience and unity of the inhabitants within. "Looks like we''ve made it," Zion announced, relief evident in his voice. "Let''s go find some allies." And with that, the group stepped into the village, their steps lighter than before, ready to embrace the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead. A new home The first glimpse of the Tiger village brought a wave of relief that washed over Ruby and her group, their tired bodies aching from the journey. It was a welcoming sight amidst the dense forest, the warm glow of lanterns flickering in the distance. Leon, his strong lion arms cradling the slumbering Bridget, walked alongside Bastion who carried Damona with great care. As they approached, the cub and snake seemed to have grown much larger than when Ruby had first encountered them. "Welcome," a melodic voice called out as they entered the village. A man stepped forward, his pale skin made even paler under the moonlight. His hair was an equally ghostly shade, and his red eyes pierced through the darkness like twin flames. He looked like an albino, Ruby mused, taking note of his unique appearance. "Alabaster," he introduced himself, extending a hand to Ruby. "I''m the leader of this village. You must be very tired after your long journey." "Ruby Stonebrook," she replied, shaking his hand. "Thank you for welcoming us." Her voice was weary, and she explained how they had come to find themselves here, seeking refuge and a place to call home. Alabaster''s gaze fell upon the two small wiggly bundles in the arms of Leon and Bastion, his eyes filled with concern. "You must all be exhausted," he said sympathetically. "Please, let me offer you some comfort in our Common house. You can rest there and regain your strength." "Thank you, Alabaster," Ruby said gratefully, her heart swelling with appreciation for the stranger''s kindness. "We would be honored to accept your hospitality." "Follow me," Alabaster beckoned, leading the way through the village. Zion trailed behind the group, feeling a bit awkward as he wasn''t part of the family unit but still determined to support Ruby and her daughters. As they walked, Ruby marveled at the Tiger village''s unique architecture, a harmonious blend of nature and man-made structures. The rustling leaves whispered softly among the homes built in trees, while stone houses surrounded a small lake, reflecting the twinkling lights from within. "Your village is beautiful," Ruby murmured, her lavender eyes taking in the sights and sounds around her. The scent of fresh air, mingled with woodsmoke and home-cooked meals, filled her nostrils. "Thank you," Alabaster replied with pride. "We take great care to preserve the balance between nature and our community." Ruby felt a newfound sense of hope and safety as they settled into the Common house, grateful for Alabaster''s hospitality and eager to begin their new lives in the Tiger village. The Common house hummed with life as Ruby and her group entered, the air inside warm and welcoming. Newly shifted males lounged on cushioned benches, their striped fur gleaming in the firelight. Weary travelers shared stories and laughter over wooden tables laden with food, while children darted playfully between their legs. "Welcome to our humble abode," Alabaster said with a flourish of his arm. "Feel free to make yourselves at home here." Ruby''s eyes were drawn to a barely discernible seam in one corner of the room. She sensed a hidden entrance there, and Alabaster noticed her observation. "Ah, that leads to our cellar," he explained. "It serves as a safe haven for women and children during attacks. But enough about that, please, rest." With gratitude evident in her eyes, Ruby nodded. Leon gently settled Bridget onto a cozy-looking bed while Bastion did the same for Damona. The cub and snake seemed content, curling up together in a corner, their once-tiny forms now significantly larger. "Thank you, Alabaster," Ruby murmured, her voice cracking with emotion. "We''ve been through so much. Your hospitality means the world to us." "Think nothing of it," Alabaster replied warmly. "We look out for one another here. Now get some rest, all of you. You''ve earned it." As they settled into the common house, Zion left the group to find a place amongst the branches outside while Ruby curled up as best she could to Leon, her feet resting near Bastion¡¯s legs. Surrounded by the warmth and safety of the bustling Common house, Ruby allowed herself to relax, her heart swelling with gratitude for Alabaster and the kind villagers who had taken them in. For the first time in what felt like an eternity, she dared to hope that they might finally find a place where they could belong. "Goodnight, Ruby," Leon murmured, pulling a blanket over her. "Goodnight, everyone," she replied, her voice barely audible as sleep began to claim her. She drifted off, reassured by the comforting sounds of laughter and conversation echoing through the room, knowing that they were safe and surrounded by newfound friends. The sun filtered through the canopy of leaves above, casting dappled shadows on the ground as Ruby stepped out of the Common house. She blinked in the bright sunlight and took a deep breath, her body still thrumming with fatigue but her spirit renewed by the kindness they had found in this village. "Wow," she murmured, taking in the unique architecture that surrounded them. The homes in the Tiger village were unlike anything she had ever seen before. Some were built within the gnarled branches of ancient trees, their trunks so massive that they could easily accommodate entire living spaces. The tree houses were connected by an intricate network of wooden bridges and platforms, allowing villagers to move between them with ease. "Look, Ruby!" Bastion exclaimed excitedly, pointing at the stone houses nestled around the small lake. They seemed to have been carved directly from the surrounding rock, their smooth walls blending seamlessly with the earth. It was a harmonious union of nature and man-made design, one that spoke of the villagers'' deep respect for the environment in which they lived. If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. "Amazing, right?" Leon said, coming up beside her. "I''ve never seen anything like it." "Me neither," Ruby agreed, her eyes taking in every detail. As she walked through the village, she reveled in the sensory experience it provided. The sounds of rustling leaves mingled with children''s laughter, creating a natural symphony that brought joy to her heart. The scent of fresh air was tinged with the faintest hint of wood smoke, reminding her of the warmth and safety they had found here. "Let''s make this our home," Leon suggested, his voice tinged with hope. "Together." Ruby looked around at her makeshift family ¨C Leon, Bastion, her babies Bridget and Damona, and even the boys ¨C and knew that she would do everything in her power to make sure they could stay here forever. She nodded, a determined smile playing on her lips. "Agreed," she said firmly. "We''ll build our lives here, together." Ruby''s lavender eyes widened as she watched the villagers move about, their friendly smiles inviting conversation and camaraderie. The village had truly come alive, as if welcoming them with open arms. She watched as the males went about their daily chores, females watching their children playing and jokingly competing with who¡¯s son was the strongest and who¡¯s daughter was the prettiest. "Excuse me," a deep voice interjected, drawing their attention to Alabaster. His pale skin and red eyes looked striking against the backdrop of the bustling village. "Would you like me to show you around our humble home?" "Of course, we''d love that," Ruby said, smiling at Alabaster. "Excellent." Alabaster gestured for them to follow him, and together, they began exploring the village. As they walked, Ruby marveled at the vibrant atmosphere surrounding them. Children played energetically in the open fields, their laughter a testament to the sense of safety and joy that pervaded the village. Skilled artisans crafted intricate pieces in their workshops, while others tended to lush gardens bursting with fruits and vegetables. "Here we have our market," Alabaster explained as they passed various stalls showcasing fresh produce, handcrafted goods, and other essentials. "We pride ourselves on being self-sufficient and supportive of one another." "Everyone seems so happy here," Ruby observed, her eyes wide with wonder. "I''ve never seen such a strong sense of community." "Indeed," Alabaster agreed, his chest swelling with pride. "Our people have always believed in unity and cooperation. It''s what makes our village thrive." As they continued their tour, Ruby couldn''t help but feel a warmth enveloping her heart, knowing that they had found a place where acceptance and support were abundant. The kindness of the villagers and the strong bonds between them filled her with hope for the future ¨C a future she was determined to build, not just for herself, but for her family as well. "Thank you for showing us around, Alabaster," Ruby said sincerely once their tour had come to an end. "We truly appreciate your hospitality." "It''s my pleasure," Alabaster replied, his red eyes gleaming. "And remember, if you ever need anything, don''t hesitate to ask. We''re all here for each other." Ruby nodded, her determination solidifying with each passing moment. This was their new home, and together, they would make it their sanctuary. The sight of children playing near the edge of a small lake, their laughter ringing through the air, captivated Ruby''s attention as Alabaster continued guiding them through the village. The tranquility of the scene was only enhanced by the warm glow of the sun filtering through the trees, casting dappled shadows on the ground. "Over there is our gathering area," Alabaster said, pointing toward a large open space surrounded by benches and shaded by towering trees. "We hold celebrations, meetings, and other communal events here. It''s the heart of our village life." "Sounds like a wonderful place to come together," Ruby mused, already imagining the fond memories they would create in such a space. "Indeed," Alabaster nodded. "And just beyond that, you''ll find our training grounds." He gestured toward an expanse of flat land where several males were engaged in various forms of physical activity ¨C some practicing hand-to-hand combat, others honing their beastly skills, all the while learning how to fight various others different from their kin kind. "Wow," Leon remarked, clearly impressed. "You''ve got quite the set-up here." "Thank you," Alabaster replied, his chest puffing out with pride. "We believe in cultivating both mind and body, for the good of the individual and the community." Bastion leaned in close to Leon, whispering, "Maybe we could train together here. It''d be fun, don''t you think?" Leon''s rough exterior softened at the suggestion, and he grinned. "Yeah, I''d like that." As they continued walking, Bastion and Leon exchanged glances, silently communicating their shared desire to find a home within this vibrant village. Sensing their unspoken thoughts, Alabaster spoke up. "Actually, there are a few empty houses around the village that could use new occupants," he informed them. "I can show you where they are, if you''d like." "Really?" Bastion''s eyes lit up at the offer. "That would be amazing!" "Lead the way," Leon added, his voice filled with anticipation. Alabaster guided them through a lush grove of trees, each one adorned with uniquely designed treehouses. He also pointed out several cozy stone houses nestled beside the lake, their picturesque windows reflecting the serene water. "Take your time in choosing," Alabaster advised. "We want you to feel truly at home here." "Thank you," Ruby said quietly, her heart swelling with gratitude. What they had found in this village was more than just a place to rest ¨C it was a chance for them all to start anew, forging bonds and creating a life together. And she knew that, no matter which dwelling they chose, it would become the warm, loving sanctuary they had always longed for. A warm breeze rustled the leaves overhead, casting dappled sunlight onto Ruby''s face as she stood in the heart of the village. The pastel hues of the sunset bled into a serene twilight, and the gentle hum of laughter and conversation filled the air like a soothing balm. She glanced around at her newfound family, who mingled with the villagers with ease. "Can you believe it?" Ruby murmured, turning to Leon and Bastion, who stood beside her. "We''re actually here, safe... accepted." Bastion nodded, his gaze lingering on the friendly faces that surrounded them. "It''s a far cry from the world we left behind," he agreed. "I never thought I''d feel this comfortable among strangers." "Neither did I," Leon admitted, her thoughts drifting back to the harsh realities they had faced before finding refuge in the Tiger village. Hostility and suspicion had been their constant companions, making trust a luxury they couldn''t afford. And yet, here, trust seemed to flow as freely as the crystal-clear waters of the lake. As evening descended, the group gathered around a crackling bonfire, exchanging tales of their adventures and forging new friendships. Alabaster sat nearby, a look of contentment on his pale features as he listened to the laughter and camaraderie. "Alabaster," Ruby began, her voice tinged with heartfelt gratitude. "Thank you for welcoming us into your village. You''ve given us a place to call home, and we can''t express how much that means to all of us." "Indeed," Leon chimed in. "Your hospitality has been unparalleled." Alabaster smiled warmly, his red eyes glittering in the firelight. "You''re more than welcome here," he assured them. "I''m glad we could provide you with a sanctuary and a community where you can heal and grow. The Tiger village is happy to have you all." "Here''s to new beginnings," Bastion raised his cup, Leon echoing the sentiment as they shared a tender loving moment. "New beginnings," the group echoed, raising their own cups in unison, sealing their commitment to their new lives within the Tiger village. And as the stars above twinkled like a promise of hope, Ruby knew they had found something precious: a haven, where they could truly belong. New House New Cubs The first light of dawn cast a warm glow over Ruby''s face as she lay in bed, her swollen belly rising and falling with each breath. Her lavender eyes were closed, but her mind was wide awake, restlessly shifting between anticipation and discomfort. Ruby cradled her enormous belly with tender hands, feeling the life within her stir and kick. "Almost time," she whispered to herself, trying to ease the knot of anxiety that coiled within her. She knew that the birth of her cubs was imminent, and she couldn''t help but feel an overwhelming mixture of joy and fear. In another corner of their shared home, Leon stirred from his slumber, his feline ears twitching as he picked up on Ruby''s restless energy. Knowing that he had much to accomplish before the babies arrived, he rose from his makeshift bed and stretched his muscular arms above his head. "Today''s the day," Leon muttered determinedly, his golden lion eyes focusing on the task at hand. He quickly dressed and made his way out of their cozy dwelling, his purposeful strides carrying him towards the heart of the village. As he navigated the narrow pathways, Leon was greeted by the familiar faces of other beast kin who were already up and about, preparing for the day ahead. They offered their assistance to Leon, sensing the urgency in his stride. "Need help gathering materials, friend?" asked a burly panda bear kin, his black and white fur contrasting against the sunlit backdrop. "Your help would be appreciated," Leon replied gratefully, adjusting the leather strap of his bag across his broad chest. Together, they gathered stones, logs, and various other materials needed for the construction of the Ondol house near the lake. With each piece collected, Leon felt the weight of responsibility settle upon his shoulders, but he welcomed it with determination. "Thanks for your help," Leon said, shaking the panda bear kin''s paw firmly. "I need to start on the house right away." The panda bear kin nodded in understanding and wished him luck before continuing on his own tasks. As Leon made his way towards the building site, he couldn''t help but let his thoughts drift back to Ruby, her radiant smile, and their life together. He knew that once their cubs were born, everything would change, but he also knew that they would face whatever challenges lay ahead as a family - united and strong. The morning sun filtered through the trees, casting dappled patterns upon the ground as Leon heaved a large, gnarled log onto his shoulder. Sweat beaded on his brow, but he took pride in his ability to carry such weight with relative ease. His muscles strained and flexed beneath his tawny fur. "Leon, these stones should work well for the foundation," called out a nearby fox beast kin, gesturing towards a pile of flat, smooth stones. "They''re strong and will hold up against the elements." "Perfect," Leon replied, nodding appreciatively. He set the log down momentarily and began to gather the stones, stacking them carefully on a makeshift sled he had fashioned from a large leaves and branches. As he worked, he couldn''t help but marvel at the resourcefulness of his fellow beast kin, who had rallied around him to ensure he had all the necessary materials for the Ondol house. With renewed determination, Leon secured the last of the stones onto the sled, then hoisted the hefty log back onto his shoulder. Gracefully balancing the load, he began the trek back to the building site near the lake. Each step he took was filled with purpose, his mind focused on the task at hand - providing a comfortable home for Ruby and their soon-to-be-born cubs. Arriving at the building site, Leon surveyed the area with a keen eye. The ground needed to be leveled before he could lay the foundation. "No time to waste," he muttered to himself, setting the log down once more. Using his powerful limbs, Leon quickly and efficiently cleared the area, ensuring the ground was as level as possible. He could feel the energy coursing through him, fueling his resolve to complete the Ondol house. As he began to arrange the stones for the foundation, each carefully placed piece solidified his commitment to Ruby and their growing family. "Ruby," Leon thought, pausing briefly to wipe the sweat from his brow, "I promise I''ll make this home perfect for you and our cubs." With each stone laid and every swing of the hammer, Leon''s vision of the Ondol house took shape. The sun continued its ascent, casting its golden glow over Leon''s labor of love, as he forged a safe haven for his family with steadfast determination and unwavering care. In the dappled sunlight of the forest, Bastion moved with the stealth and grace of a seasoned hunter. His large panda form seemed to blend seamlessly into the shadows, his every step silent and calculated as he stalked his prey. The scent of damp earth and foliage filled his senses, mingling with the faint musk of the deer he was tracking. "Almost there," Bastion whispered to himself, his eyes narrowing as he spotted a flash of movement in the distance. He felt the familiar rush of adrenaline, the anticipation building as he closed in on his target. "Alright, Bastion, you got this," he thought, taking a deep breath and steadying his focus. The bow in his hand felt like an extension of his arm, a well-worn tool that had served him faithfully for many moons. As he notched the arrow and raised it to his cheek, he allowed the world around him to fade away, focusing only on the beating heart of the deer that stood before him. "Ruby''s counting on me," he reminded himself, releasing the breath he''d been holding as he loosed the arrow from his grip. The resounding thud of the arrow striking its mark echoed through the otherwise silent forest. Bastion watched as the deer crumpled to the ground, a mixture of satisfaction and relief flooding him. If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, it''s taken without the author''s consent. Report it. "Gotcha," he murmured, approaching the fallen animal with reverence. He knew that this kill would provide ample sustenance for Ruby, Leon, and the others, ensuring their survival for the days ahead. "Leon''s doing his part, and I''ll do mine," Bastion resolved, hoisting the deer onto his broad shoulders with practiced ease. As he made his way back to the village, his thoughts wandered to the Ondol house that Leon was constructing, a symbol of their shared responsibility for Ruby and their family. "Ruby, I promise we''ll take good care of you," he thought, determination radiating from him as he navigated the forest''s familiar terrain. The sun filtered through the canopy above, casting a warm glow on Bastion''s fur as he carried the deer back to their temporary home, his mind focused on fulfilling his role as provider and protector for those he held dear. The sun dipped lower in the sky as Bastion set to work, the forest''s shadows lengthening around him. With expert hands, he began the delicate process of skinning and gutting the deer, his eyes focused on the task at hand. The scent of blood mingled with the earthy aroma of leaves and damp soil as he carefully removed excess fat and unwanted parts from the animal. "Every bit counts, especially now," Bastion murmured to himself, his fingers deftly separating muscle from bone. His attention to detail was unwavering, ensuring that nothing went to waste as he prepared the meat for smoking, drying, and salting. The rhythmic sound of his knife slicing through flesh provided a soothing cadence, a testament to his skill and experience. As Bastion worked, the days drifted by, each one bringing Leon closer to completing the Ondol house. The progress was steady and purposeful, a reflection of their unspoken vow to provide Ruby with the home and support she needed during this critical time. "Almost done," Leon announced one evening, wiping the sweat from his brow as he surveyed the near-finished structure. "Just in time, too." Ruby, her belly swollen with life, nodded in agreement, her lavender eyes shining with anticipation. "I can feel them moving more each day," she said, her hands cradling her burgeoning form. "It won''t be long now." "Let''s make sure the kids are taken care of while I''m...occupied," Ruby suggested, her voice tinged with a hint of concern. She glanced over at Lilac, a fellow beast kin and newfound friend, who stood nearby with her own mates. "Would you mind looking after them?" "Of course, Ruby," Lilac replied warmly, her own pregnant belly unmistakable beneath her flowing gown. "We''ll keep an eye on them, don''t you worry." "Thank you," Ruby breathed, relief washing over her as she clutched Leon''s hand. "I know they''ll be in good hands." With each passing day, the anticipation grew, filling the village with a sense of urgency and excitement. All the while, Bastion continued to provide for their needs, his unwavering dedication a constant reminder of the love that bound them all together. And when the time finally came for Ruby to bring new life into the world, they stood ready, united by a shared purpose and an unbreakable bond. The night air filled with tension as Ruby''s labor pains intensified, her breaths coming in short gasps. Leon and Bastion hovered close by, their faces etched with concern and determination. Sweat beaded on Ruby''s forehead as she clutched at the sheets, her lavender eyes squeezed shut in concentration. "Almost there, Ruby," Bastion said gently, his large, skilled hands guiding her through each push. "You''re doing great." "Come on, love," Leon urged, his gruff voice softened by emotion. He held her hand tightly, offering what little comfort he could amidst the pain. With one final, guttural cry, Ruby pushed with all her might, and the first of three male cubs made his entrance into the world, his tiny form slick and mewling. Leon''s eyes widened in wonder, his heart swelling with pride and love for this new life that had joined their family. "Look at him, Ruby," he breathed, his rough exterior crumbling as tears threatened to spill. "He''s perfect." Moments later, two more cries pierced the air, announcing the arrival of the second and third cubs. As Bastion expertly tended to the newborns, Leon couldn''t help but marvel at the resilience and strength of the woman he loved. "Ruby, you''re incredible," he whispered, pressing a tender kiss to her sweat-dampened brow. "I can''t believe we''ve been blessed with three healthy boys." As the new family basked in the joy of their growing brood, Leon glanced out the window, noting the darkness blanketing the village. The sight of the new moon reminded him of the cycle that governed their lives, knowing that with the next full moon, Ruby would go into heat once more. "Things are going to get interesting around here," he mused, his thoughts swirling with anticipation and anxiety. "I only hope we can keep up with everything." "Trust in our love, Leon," Ruby murmured, her eyes heavy with exhaustion as she settled into the makeshift bed with the cubs nestled close. "Together, we''ll find a way." Ruby lay back on the makeshift bed, her head cradled by a soft pillow as her eyes fluttered closed. The cubs stirred at her side, their tiny, pink noses twitching in sleep. She smiled, her heart swelling with love for her new sons and the life they had created together. "Alright, I''ll go fetch our daughters," Leon announced, his voice filled with excitement and determination. Bastion nodded in agreement, following closely behind as they headed towards Lilac''s home. "Thank you so much for looking after them, Lilac," Leon said gratefully, clasping the heavily pregnant female¡¯s hand. "We couldn''t have managed without you." "Think nothing of it," Lilac replied, her swollen belly a testament to the new life she carried within. "I''m just glad I could help." As Leon and Bastion gathered the baby girls, the two-year-old lion cub, and snake kin, Ruby could hear their laughter filtering through the open window. She felt a warmth spread through her chest at the sound, knowing that her family was safe and reunited once more. Returning to the Ondol house, Leon watched with pride as the girls displayed their newfound skills. Their chubby arms reached for toys, and they giggled when Leon or Bastion helped them sit up with assistance. They tried to creep across the floor, rolling around like little explorers on an adventure. "Look at them grow, Ruby," Leon said softly, his eyes shining with wonder. "It''s amazing how much they''ve learned in just a few short months." "Isn''t it?" Ruby agreed, her heart nearly bursting with joy. "I can hardly believe it myself." As the children played nearby, Ruby and Leon found a quiet moment to speak privately. "Leon," Ruby began hesitantly. "You know my next heat cycle is coming up soon¡ I think it''s only fair that Bastion has a chance to¡be part of it." Leon looked at Ruby, his eyes filled with understanding and love. "I know," he replied gently. "He loves you just as much as I do, and he deserves the opportunity to be there for you, too." "Thank you for understanding," Ruby whispered, reaching out to touch Leon''s arm tenderly. "Of course, my love," Leon said, smiling warmly. "We''re all in this together, after all." As they shared this moment of connection, their hearts swelled with love for each other and the family they had built. Together, they would face whatever challenges lay ahead, knowing that their love and commitment to one another would see them through. Bastion and Ruby The faint, tantalizing aroma wafted through the house, Leon¡¯s head perked up knowing exactly what was about to come. Leon smiled knowingly at Bastion who had a slightly confused face. Leon picked up the girls and a young 2 week cub in each hand. He went to the nursery as Ruby¡¯s whimpers became audible. Ruby¡¯s body started to have that creeping warming sensation, her skin starting to sear. She hung on to Bastion who felt far cooler than she did at that moment. Bastion realized she is the source of such a decadent smell. Picking her up to take her to her room, Bastion rested a thumb between her legs and began to thumb her clit in small circles. Once in the room, Bastion sets Ruby down who immediately pulled her dress off, it pooling down at her feet. Bastion seeing her so exposed threw her legs up over his shoulders, firmly holding her hips in place as he began to taste the sweet nectar that dripped from her core. Ruby gasped at the warmth of his tongue and played with her breasts, pinching and pulling the nipples. With a sudden, almost feral urge, Bastion pulled Ruby down onto his face, burying himself between her thighs. He hungrily devoured her, the sweet nectar that flowed from her core intoxicating him beyond reason. His wide tongue filled her, stroking and exploring every inch of her most intimate recesses. As he did so, the tip of his nose brushed against her clit, adding another layer to the symphony of pleasure coursing through her body. "Ah, Bastion..." Ruby gasped, her voice trembling as she leaned back, bracing herself against his waist and exposing her neither region more. The sensations overwhelming her, she reached down and found his erect member, starting to stroke it in time with the waves of ecstasy that washed over her. "Ruby... you feel amazing," Bastion panted between mouthfuls, firmly holding her hips in place as she tried to squirm away from the intensity of his ministrations. Her delicate fingers wrapped around him, sending shivers up his spine as they moved expertly along his length. As Ruby''s legs began to quiver, she realized that she was teetering on the edge of a powerful climax. She tried to pull away, desperate for a momentary reprieve from the onslaught of pleasure, but Bastion held her steady, determined to see her through it. "Let go, Ruby," he urged, his voice thick with desire. "Just let yourself feel it." "God, Bastion... I... I can''t hold on..." she stammered, her entire body shuddering as she fought to maintain control. Her lavender eyes met his, and in that moment, she knew there was no turning back. "Then don''t," he whispered, his words punctuated by one final, deliberate swipe of his tongue. And with that, Ruby surrendered to the tidal wave of ecstasy that had been building within her, letting it sweep her away and carrying her into the unknown. As the waves of pleasure subsided, Ruby''s panting breaths filled the room. Bastion carefully shifted their positions, moving her onto his lap so that she straddled him, his throbbing arousal pressing against her sensitive core. "Ruby," he murmured, cradling her in his strong arms as she leaned into his embrace. "You were absolutely divine." "Th-thank you," she stammered, still trying to catch her breath. The praise from Bastion sent a flush to her cheeks and an even deeper warmth in her belly. Was this what it meant to feel truly desired? "Your taste is intoxicating," he continued, his voice thick with lust. "I could feast on you for days." "Really?" she asked, her heart swelling with pride at his words. Bastion''s compliments seemed to have a power all their own, like fuel that ignited a fire deep within her. "Absolutely," he confirmed, his hands roaming over her body, tracing the curve of her hips, her waist, her breasts. "But now, I want to be inside you." At the mention of joining together, Ruby hesitated. Her legs felt weak, like they might buckle under her at any moment. She tried to sit up, but the muscles in her thighs refused to cooperate. If you come across this story on Amazon, it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. "Here, let me help you," Bastion offered, his gentle hands steadying her as she moved to position herself over him. With a deep breath, Ruby lowered herself onto his impressive girth, feeling him stretch her open as she took him in. "Ah," she moaned, the sensations overwhelming her once more. Grasping his shoulders for support, she began to ride him, her movements slow and deliberate at first, then faster and more urgent as the pleasure built within her again. "Ruby, you''re incredible," Bastion gasped, his thrusts meeting hers as they moved together in perfect harmony. "Your body... it''s like it was made for this." His praise, the sound of his voice, it sent a shiver down her spine and urged her forward, propelling her toward another peak of ecstasy. "More," she whispered, her grip on his shoulders tightening. "Please, Bastion, I need more." "Anything you desire," he panted, increasing the pace and intensity of his thrusts, driving them both closer to the precipice. As their bodies moved together, Ruby could feel herself tightening around him, drawing him even deeper inside her. "Ruby... I''m close," he warned, his voice strained with need. "Me too," she managed, her own climax imminent. Their eyes locked, and in that moment, they knew there was no holding back. "Let''s go together," he suggested, his words nearly lost in a groan of pleasure. "Yes," Ruby agreed, and with a final surge of passion, they toppled over the edge, their bodies joined as one in their shared release. As the aftershocks faded, Ruby clung to Bastion, her head resting against his chest, listening to the rapid beat of his heart as it slowly returned to normal. In those quiet moments, she felt closer to him than ever before, their connection forged in the heat of their passion and bound by the love they now shared. With a gentle sigh, Bastion rolled over, still connected to Ruby, and drew her close. Their bodies intertwined, their sweat and heat mingling as they basked in the afterglow of their passionate encounter. His broad chest was a comforting pillow for Ruby''s head, and she couldn''t help but breathe in the intoxicating scent of their coupling. "Ruby," Bastion whispered, his voice laced with contentment. "I love you." "I love you too, Bastion," she murmured, feeling warmth surge through her heart at his declaration. As sleep began to claim them both, the mark of a panda head appeared on the inside of Ruby''s thigh, near her womanly entrance¡ª an indelible reminder of the bond they had just forged. The first rays of sunlight streamed through the window, casting a warm glow over the room as Ruby awoke with a start. She tried to sit up, but her body resisted, soreness spreading through her muscles. A low groan escaped her lips as she attempted to rise once more, memories of last night''s passion fueling her determination. "Leon?" she called out, her voice weak and shaky. Almost instantly, his concerned face appeared in the doorway, his golden eyes filled with worry. "Ruby? Are you alright?" he asked, taking in her disheveled state. "Ugh, I''m so sore," she admitted, wincing as she shifted her position. "Can you... help me?" "Of course," Leon replied, his tone soothing. "You should rest today. I''ll take care of everything." "Thank you," Ruby managed to say, relief washing over her. With Leon''s assistance, she donned a large shirt that draped over her tender body like a protective barrier. "Remember, you''re not alone," Leon reminded her gently. "We''re here for you, Ruby." "Thank you," she murmured again, her heart swelling with gratitude for the family she had found in this strange new world. As Ruby settled back into bed, exhaustion pulling her eyelids closed once more, she couldn''t help but feel a sense of peace. Despite the challenges that lay ahead, she knew she was surrounded by love and support¡ªand that made all the difference. A gentle snowfall began outside, dusting the world in a delicate layer of white. Ruby watched from her window, entranced by the serene beauty of the scene. Her thoughts turned to those who had become her family by beast law, and warmth spread through her heart. "Ruby, how are you feeling?" Bastion asked as he entered the room, carrying a tray laden with steaming food. The aroma wafted through the air, tempting Ruby''s appetite. "Better now," she replied, grateful for the care Bastion was taking to ensure her comfort. "Good," Leon chimed in, joining them as he carried one of their children in his arms. "Because we have a lot of work to do." "Work?" Ruby questioned, her lavender eyes widening in confusion. "Keeping the house warm, making sure everyone''s fed, and preparing for the winter season," Leon explained. "But don''t worry, we''ve got this covered." "Indeed," Bastion agreed, setting the tray down on Ruby''s lap. "You just focus on recovering." Ruby couldn''t help but smile at the camaraderie between Leon and Bastion. It was evident that they were truly united as family now, and she couldn''t be more pleased. She let out a contented sigh and dug into the food before her. Outside, the snow continued to fall, casting a dreamy atmosphere over the landscape. Within the cozy home, Leon and Bastion worked tirelessly together, stoking the fire to keep everyone warm and ensuring Ruby received all the nourishment she needed. Jasper and Serenity The chamber door creaked open, revealing a man of impeccable posture and refined elegance. Lord Jasper Gravekeep, Ruby''s most recent owner, strode into his office with a sense of urgency that bespoke the weight of his thoughts. His strawberry blond hair, streaked with platinum, shimmered in the candlelight as he paced back and forth across the room. Not a single item was out of place in his domain, from the neatly stacked scrolls to the polished brass doorknob. "Damnation," Jasper muttered, stormy grey eyes narrowing with irritation. "Winter is nearly upon us, and still no sign of that infernal slave girl." On a plush couch nestled against the wall, Lady Serenity Gravekeep raised her gaze from the book she had been reading. Her golden honey brown hair was pulled up and away from her face, accentuating her delicate features. She sipped her vanilla, orange peel, and cinnamon tea, feigning sympathy for her husband''s plight. In truth, she was the one who had secretly helped Ruby escape their clutches. "Such a pity, dear husband," Serenity murmured, placing her empty teacup on the saucer with a gentle clink. "But perhaps it''s for the best. After all, we wouldn''t want any... complications arising from her presence here, would we?" With a casual glance at Jasper, she allowed the insinuation of relief to color her words. Jasper''s jaw clenched as he caught the implication behind his wife''s words. He fought to control the bubbling anger within him, knowing better than to lash out at Serenity. Instead, he focused on the issue at hand: finding Ruby and bringing her back under his control. "Complications or not, she is my property," he retorted, his voice icy and resolute. "And I will have her returned to me, no matter the cost." "Of course, my love," Serenity replied, her slate grey eyes meeting his stormy gaze unflinchingly. She knew how much he desired Ruby''s return, but she also understood that this was a battle Jasper could not win. The secret of Ruby''s escape would remain hers and hers alone. The tension in the room tightened like a coiled snake as Jasper glared at Serenity, his stormy grey eyes darkening with fury. She met his gaze without flinching, her own slate grey eyes full of defiance. The unspoken challenge between them was palpable, teetering on the edge of explosion. "Your petty sentimentality won''t stop me from having what I want," Jasper seethed through gritted teeth, his hands clenched into fists to keep himself from striking her. "Not her, not anyone." "Have you ever considered that perhaps it is you who is the problem?" Serenity shot back, her voice icy and controlled. "Our children are grown, Jasper. What more do you want?" "Control," he whispered, just as the office door swung open with a resounding thud. King Aldric strode into the room, his jovial laugh cutting through the tension like a knife. He appeared every bit the monarch, with silver-streaked hair and a bushy beard framing his ruddy cheeks. His deep blue eyes sparkled with good humor, betraying none of the weariness that came with ruling a kingdom. "Ah, Lord and Lady Gravekeep!" he boomed, clapping his hands together in delight. "Just the couple I was hoping to find today!" Jasper and Serenity exchanged a quick glance before instantly slipping behind their masks of marital bliss. Their hands clasped together, their smiles broad and welcoming, they greeted their royal guest with practiced ease. "Your Majesty," Jasper said, bowing deeply while Serenity curtsied. "To what do we owe the pleasure of your visit?" "Ah, well, just a little matter I wished to discuss with you both," the King replied, waving a hand dismissively. His eyes twinkled as he settled into an armchair, seemingly oblivious to the undercurrents that had moments ago filled the room. As Serenity poured tea for the King, she couldn''t help but wonder what had brought him here unannounced. She knew that Jasper''s search for Ruby was a well-guarded secret, and few outside their household even knew of her existence. But the King''s presence was a reminder of forces far greater than their domestic squabbles, and she silently prayed that whatever he sought would not further endanger the girl she had fought so hard to protect. "Your hospitality is ever appreciated," King Aldric said with a smile, accepting his cup of tea. "Now, let''s get down to business, shall we?" King Aldric casually crossed one leg over the other, leaning back into the cushioned armchair with an air of nonchalance. "Tell me, Jasper, have your efforts to find a suitable female elemental borne any fruit?" Jasper''s laughter came brittle and forced, as though it were a feeble shield against the King''s probing question. "Sadly, Your Majesty, it seems I must be too skilled at producing sons," he replied, his voice tight with thinly veiled irritation. Serenity, her nerves fraying like the edges of a worn tapestry, silently agreed with her husband''s words. She poured a second cup of tea for the King, her hands steady despite the storm raging inside her. The longer this conversation continued, the more danger Ruby would be in if her whereabouts were discovered. This narrative has been purloined without the author''s approval. Report any appearances on Amazon. "Ah, that''s truly unfortunate," King Aldric said, wrapping his fingers around the delicate teacup. His eyes held a glint of steel beneath the jovial fa?ade as he took a sip of the fragrant liquid. "You see, our agreement hinges upon your ability to provide a suitable match for my son ¨C an elemental, you understand. Their offspring would make our kingdom the envy of all the lands." As much as Serenity wished she could object, she knew better than to defy the King openly. She held her tongue, her thoughts racing as fast as her heart. What would become of the girl who had risked everything to escape her husband''s clutches? Jasper nodded solemnly, masking his frustration. "I am well aware of the terms of our agreement, Your Majesty, and rest assured that we are doing everything in our power to fulfill them." "Excellent." King Aldric''s smile returned, but there was a new edge to it ¨C a subtle warning. "I trust that you will keep me informed of your progress. The future of our kingdom depends on it." As the King drained the last drop of tea from his cup, Serenity couldn''t help but feel a cold shiver run down her spine. As much as she had already done to protect Ruby, it seemed there would be no escaping the shadows that hounded them all. Jasper''s stormy grey eyes flickered to Serenity for a brief moment before he nodded in understanding. He slid closer to his wife, taking her delicate hand in his lap. Their fingers entwined and to an untrained eye, they appeared as in love as any newly wed couple seeing as they were both in their 40s. "Of course, Your Majesty," Jasper said smoothly, his voice betraying none of the irritation that brewed beneath his calm demeanor. Serenity''s heart raced as she felt her husband''s grip tighten around her hand. She dug her nails into his skin in an attempt to pull away, but he held fast, not even wincing at the pain she inflicted. King Aldric sighed, looking at the pair with a hint of envy. "My own marriage has become somewhat...strained over the years. The Queen and I have taken to seeking solace elsewhere, if you understand my meaning." "Indeed, Your Majesty," Serenity replied, feigning ignorance as a proper woman of nobility should. Inside, however, she couldn''t help but loathe the situation she was forced to endure ¨C not only for herself, but for Ruby as well. She glanced away, her slate grey eyes finding temporary refuge in the intricate patterns of the rug beneath them. "Many of our fellow nobles have found comfort in pleasure slaves," the King continued, oblivious to Serenity''s discomfort. "Those who can no longer be bred, but are used strictly for carnal delights." Serenity struggled to maintain her composure. Her thoughts revolved around Ruby, how vulnerable she must feel, pursued by a man with such intentions. The young girl deserved so much more than this dark world she''d been born into. But what could she do, as the wife of a man like Jasper? No sooner had King Aldric departed than the heavy doors clicked shut behind him, and Jasper''s facade dissolved into a scowl. He pulled away from Serenity with disgust, wrapping his hand in his pocket hankie to stem the blood from the crescent-shaped wounds her nails had left. "Damn you, woman!" he growled, his stormy grey eyes narrowing. "You''ll pay for this." Serenity simply snubbed her nose at him, unfazed by his threat. "Clean up your mess," she ordered, calling for a maid to tidy the office. Jasper cursed under his breath before returning to his earlier task, pacing the room as he studied the reports scattered across his desk ¨C each one detailing another failed attempt to track down Ruby. Serenity rose from her seat on the couch, her thoughts racing with concern for the young girl. She needed to find a way to protect Ruby from her husband''s twisted desires, but what could she do, trapped within these cold walls herself? With a sigh, she left the office, making her way through the dimly lit halls of their home toward her own sanctuary. Inside her sleeping quarters, Serenity approached the ornate bedpost and pressed a hidden button. The wall behind her bed swung open, revealing a secret chamber bathed in warm candlelight. There, sprawled across a thick bear skin rug, lay a young man, naked and waiting. He couldn''t have been more than twenty years old, but his eyes held a wisdom that belied his age. "Did I do well, my mistress?" he asked, rising to his knees as Serenity entered the concealed room. A small smile graced her lips, a rare sight for anyone other than the young man before her. "Very well indeed," she replied gently, her hand reaching out to stroke his face. It was a simple gesture, yet it held a world of meaning for them both. In this hidden space, Serenity found the solace she so desperately sought ¨C and perhaps even the strength to help Ruby escape her fate. In the dimly lit room, Serenity and the young man found solace in each other''s arms, their bodies entwined like ivy climbing a tower. Their whispered words and gentle touches created an atmosphere of intimacy, a stark contrast to the cold, calculating world outside the secret chamber. "Thank you," Serenity murmured into the young man''s ear, her breath warm against his skin. "You bring light into my life." "Anything for you, my mistress," he replied, his fingers tracing delicate patterns across her back, sending shivers down her spine. Meanwhile, in the office, Jasper poured over maps and witness accounts, his stormy grey eyes growing darker with frustration. He slammed his fist on the desk, cursing under his breath as his search for Ruby continued to prove fruitless. "Damn that girl! Where could she have gone?" His thoughts raced, a whirlwind of anger and determination. He couldn''t let this slip through his fingers ¨C not when control over the elements was at stake. "Once spring returns," he muttered to himself, "I''ll lead a search party to scout that cave where she vanished. With any luck, we''ll find her and I can finally secure my legacy." A twisted grin spread across his face as he imagined the power and influence he would gain from wielding the elemental forces. Back in the hidden sanctuary, Serenity lay in the young man''s embrace, her mind wandering toward Ruby. She prayed silently that the girl had managed to escape her husband''s grasp and find a better life elsewhere. For now, she could only focus on her own survival and hope that one day, she too could break free from the gilded cage that held her captive. As the night wore on, Serenity and the young man drifted off to sleep, their heartbeats syncing in a tender rhythm. And while they found peace in each other''s arms, Jasper continued his relentless pursuit in the shadows, plotting to retrieve his lost prize and cement his place as ruler over a world bound by elemental magic. Nightmare come to Life The first hints of spring painted the world in a palette of vibrant greens and soft pastels, the snow melting away like a fading memory. Lord Jasper Gravekeep stood by his window, smiling at the emerging landscape before him, a sense of satisfaction filling his chest. He had plans, grand plans that began with the cave where Ruby was last seen. Inside her room, Lady Gravekeep paced back and forth, her hands cradling her small belly protectively. She was three months pregnant and worried for Ruby, her heart heavy with unease. If only the rumors were true, she thought, that her family held an elemental ancestor somewhere in their lineage. It would offer solace, even if just a sliver, amidst this dread that plagued her. If this child had even one dot, they could sacrifice this instead. "Jasper," she called out, her voice quivering. "Are you certain about this? The cave... it''s filled with danger and uncertainty." "Darling, we''ve been over this," he replied, his tone firm but gentle. "This is our chance to secure our future, both for us. I will lead a group of our finest troops to that cave, and we will discover what secrets it holds." "Please, be careful," she whispered, more to herself than to him. Lord Jasper barked orders to his men, rallying them with confidence as they prepared for the journey ahead. With a final glance towards his wife, he steeled himself for what lay beyond the cave''s entrance, knowing that the fate of his future rested in this cave and in Ruby¡¯s loins. As they approached the cave, an eerie silence settled upon the group. The air grew cold and heavy, charged with an energy that set Jasper''s nerves on edge. But there was no time for hesitation; he led his troops into the darkness, the shadows swallowing them whole. In an instant, they were swept away from their world, deposited within another realm entirely. Jasper shook off the disorientation, his eyes widening as he took in the breathtaking scenery before him. The sound of cascading waterfalls filled the air, a river cutting through lush plains that stretched out as far as the eye could see. "By the gods," he murmured, scarcely able to believe the stark contrast between this world and his own. He took note of everything, from the vibrant plant life to the peculiar creatures that roamed the land, his mind racing with possibilities. His gaze fell upon a tribe on the far side of the river, their unfamiliar faces etched with curiosity and wariness. A massive crack marred the ground near their settlement, a reminder of the volatile nature of this world. But rather than fear, Jasper felt exhilaration, a hunger for conquest and power coursing through his veins. "Men," he called out, his voice steady and commanding. "We have been granted a remarkable opportunity. This is our chance to seize control, to shape this world as we see fit." The troops, emboldened by their leader''s words, brandished their weapons, ready to follow him into the unknown. And with that, they marched forward, eager to forge a new destiny within this otherworldly realm. The sun cast its golden rays upon the town, illuminating the fear etched on the faces of its inhabitants as Jasper and his troops stormed through the gates. With ruthless efficiency, they subdued the men, their weapons ensuring swift dominance over the stunned population. "Secure the area!" Jasper barked, taking in the chaos wrought by his forces with a cruel smile. He eyed the frightened women huddled together, his gaze lingering on their shapely forms. "You there," he called, pointing to a particularly attractive woman. "You''re mine." The other soldiers grinned and followed suit, each selecting a captive for themselves. They herded the women into makeshift pens, stripping them of dignity and freedom with cold efficiency. As they carried out their vile task, Jasper never let the thought of Ruby slip from his mind. He was certain that she had been unable to survive in this strange land without him, and he intended to find her, reclaim her, and make her pay for her defiance. "Have any of you seen a red-haired woman named Ruby?" Jasper demanded, his voice rough with impatience. The women stared back at him, terror-stricken and silent. "Speak up! I won''t be merciful if you continue to defy me!" Weeks passed, and the once-thriving town now lay under the iron grip of Jasper and his men. The women they had taken hostage bore the physical marks of their brutal treatment, yet none dared defy their captors. One day, a woman named Tianna approached Jasper, her eyes downcast and her voice trembling. "My lord, I have information about Ruby." "Speak," Jasper commanded, curious yet wary of the sudden change in her demeanor. "Ruby... She was here, but we chased her away," Tianna whispered, fear evident in her voice. "Please, my lord, I beg of you, show mercy upon me and my unborn child." Jasper considered her words, his mind working through the implications of her revelation. If Ruby had indeed been here, then she was more resourceful than he had given her credit for. But that only made him more determined to find her and bring her back under his control. "Very well," he said at last, addressing Tianna with a cold smile. "For your timely information, you shall receive better treatment." He waved a dismissive hand, signaling for one of his men to take her away. "But don''t think that this changes anything. You are still mine, and you will continue to serve me... as will your child." As Tianna was led away to a slightly more comfortable cell, Jasper couldn''t help but relish in the power he held over these people, their lives entirely subject to his whims. But even as he reveled in his newfound dominance, his thoughts never strayed far from Ruby, the elusive prize he sought above all else. The sun hung high in the sky, casting its warm glow on the bustling streets of the tiger village. Zion, his sharp eyes scanning the surroundings, swooped down and caught Bridget just as she was about to disappear around a corner. Zion exclaimed triumphantly, landing gently next to Ruby. She sat at a wooden table, heavily pregnant with two more little girls. "Thanks, Zion," Ruby sighed, her exhaustion evident. She turned her attention to Bridget, gently scolding her deaf daughter. "You need to stay close, sweetheart. It''s not safe for you to run off like that." Bridget beamed at her mother, seemingly unfazed by the admonishment. Ruby began feeding her soft foods, understanding that the teething process was making the almost one-year-old twins cranky. As they ate, Leon and Alabaster meandered up to the table. Zion and Alabaster stood to the side, watching the family eat, while discussing the day-to-day issues the village faced. Ruby chimed in with suggestions and ideas on how to resolve the problems, her strong will and intelligence shining through despite her weariness. Suddenly, Ruby felt a sharp pang in her belly, signaling the impending arrival of her new daughters. Bastion and Leon sprang into action, gathering everything needed for the birth. Haydar, Damona''s lion cub mate, guided her inside their house, while Bridget attempted another escape. "Jormun!" Ruby called out to the snake beast kin who had been watching from a distance. At her command, Jormun slithered swiftly towards Bridget, tripping her with his massive body before dragging her back inside the house. As night fell, Ruby, Leon, and Bastion worked tirelessly to bring the newest members of the family into the world. Two beautiful baby girls were born, their cries filling the air with the promise of new life. And though they searched for the telltale dots that would signify elemental powers, neither girl bore any such markings. Nevertheless, Ruby''s heart swelled with love for her growing family, content in the knowledge that she had found a place where they could be safe and happy. Little did she know that the shadows of her past were not far behind, and that her greatest challenge was yet to come. A few days later, the sun rose high in the sky, casting warm golden rays over the tiger village as the entire community gathered for the naming ceremony of Ruby''s twin daughters. With her heart filled with joy and anticipation, Ruby cradled the first baby girl in her arms, her wine-red hair catching the sunlight like a halo. "By the light of the sun and the love of our family, I name you Solaria," Ruby proclaimed, her voice clear and strong. A murmur of approval rippled through the crowd, and Leon grinned widely, his chest puffed out with pride. As she turned to the second child, tenderly wrapping her fingers around the little one''s tiny hand, the serenity of the moment was shattered by the sudden blare of an alarm echoing throughout the village. Panic surged through Ruby''s veins as she looked up at Alabaster, who had tensed beside her. She could see the worry etched on his face as he gave the order for women and children to seek shelter. "Go, Ruby. Take the girls and hide," Leon urged, his fierce gaze locking onto hers. "We''ll defend the village." With a quick nod, Ruby clutched her new born daughters close to her chest and hurried towards the nearest safe house, her heart pounding in her ears. Bridget and Damona were picked up by Bastion and with the snake and cub, run with Ruby to go to the Common house. Outside the village walls, Lord Jasper stood imperiously atop his steed, a malicious grin spreading across his cruel features as he surveyed the settlement before him. Lining up behind him were rows upon rows of armed soldiers, flanked by an imposing army of lion and panda beast kin, their eyes ablaze with ferocity. ¡°Open the gates!" Jasper bellowed, his voice carrying far into the village. "Surrender now or watch your precious town burn to the ground!" Alabaster strode forward, meeting Jasper''s wicked gaze with unwavering determination. The two leaders locked eyes, and Alabaster couldn''t help but shudder at the palpable malevolence radiating from the man before him. He recalled Ruby''s frantic description of a deadly weapon called guns, and realized with an icy jolt of fear that Jasper''s forces were armed with such devices. "Stand down, Lord Jasper," Alabaster commanded, his voice barely betraying a tremor. "This village is under my protection, and we will not bow to your threats." "Is that so?" Jasper sneered, his eyes narrowing into slits. "We''ll see how long your resolve lasts when I set this place ablaze!" As the two leaders faced off, Ruby huddled in the safe house with her daughters, desperately trying to keep them calm while her own thoughts raced with terror. She knew she had to find a way to protect her family and their newfound home - but how could they possibly stand against such overwhelming odds? "Please," she whispered, cradling her girls close. "Let there be a way to save us all." Zion''s wings beat furiously as he soared through the air, the alarm ringing in his ears. His heart pounded in his chest as he realized what was happening. He had to get to Ruby, had to warn her of the danger that loomed over them all. The Common house door burst open and Zion swooped in, his eyes searching frantically for Ruby. The women and children gathered there, their expressions a mixture of anxiety and terror. When he finally found her, cradling her two youngest daughters close, he felt a wave of relief wash over him. "Ruby," he gasped, struggling to catch his breath. "It''s Lord Jasper. He''s here with an army... a massive force." Ruby''s eyes widened in horror, and her grip on her new born daughters tightened. "No," she whispered, her voice barely audible. "It can''t be..." Zion could see her mind racing, the fear threatening to paralyze her. As if sensing her mother''s emotions, Solaria began to whimper, while Lumina clung to her sister, tears streaming down her face. "Ruby," Zion said urgently, trying to snap her out of it. "You need to stay strong. For your children and for the village. They need you now more than ever." Her eyes flashed with determination, but beneath it, Zion could still see the undercurrent of fear. And as the other women in the room caught wind of the news, panic began to spread like wildfire. Mothers clutched their children tighter, while others exchanged frantic whispers, their faces pale. "Everyone, please!" Ruby called out, her voice shaking. "We must remain calm. Alabaster will find a way to protect us. We must have faith in him." Outside the safety of the Common house, the tension crackled through the air like lightning. Alabaster stood tall before the imposing force of Lord Jasper''s army, his jaw set in fierce determination. He knew that the odds were against them, but he would not let fear take hold. "Lord Jasper," Alabaster called out, his voice strong and steady. "Leave this village in peace or face the consequences." Jasper sneered and raised his hand, a signal to his troops. The sound of guns being cocked echoed through the air, a chilling reminder of the deadly power they held. "Last chance, Alabaster," Jasper taunted. "Surrender now, or watch your precious village burn." Alabaster''s heart raced, but he refused to let his fear show. He risked a glance back at the Common house, where he knew Ruby was huddled with her children, paralyzed by the threat before them. Her fear fueled him, gave him the strength to stand firm. "Never," he growled, defiance burning bright in his eyes. "We will never bow to you." As the words left his lips, Alabaster braced himself for the onslaught that was sure to follow. But as the seconds ticked by and the battlefield remained eerily still, he couldn''t shake the feeling that something was amiss. What was Jasper waiting for? "Very well," Jasper said finally, smirking cruelly. "Let it be known that I gave you a choice. You chose... poorly." He lowered his arm, and the world seemed to hold its breath.
