《Second Chance (RWBY Fanfiction)》 Prologue: I鈥檓 the villain of my story?!? As I opened my eyes I see I¡¯m in a dark place. I look around for an exit but see none, I look down and am surprised I can see myself. I get up and look around ready to run, but a voice stops me. ¡°I wouldn¡¯t do that, I can easily catch you without a second thought.¡± Turn and see a guy who looks like that painting of the white not Jesus, walking to me. ¡°Um, where am I?¡± He looks at me for a second. ¡°Guess.¡± ¡°Um, hell?¡± ¡°Nope, welcome to my domain! Its between life and death¡± ¡°... you don¡¯t get a lot of visitors do you?¡± ¡°No, but either way, you aren¡¯t dead so you can¡¯t see how grand it truly is.¡± I look at him flabbergasted. ¡°If I¡¯m not dead, then why am I here?¡± ¡°Oh that.¡± he pointed at me, shaking his finger. ¡°Well, when I looked down one day, I couldn¡¯t help but notice how pathetic the life I gave you is. So, I¡¯m giving you a second chance!¡± ¡°... WAIT REALLY?!?! Do I get to go to a new world? Maybe choose my own powers? Oh! What about-¡± ¡°Calm down, yes yes, and maybe, but only if you¡¯re good enough and fix some problems there.¡± ¡°Problems? Wait, I don¡¯t choose where I go?¡± ¡°... did I mention that This world could do with some cannon event breaking saving?¡± ¡°... Am I in spiderman?¡± He laughs. ¡°Oh goodness, no. I don¡¯t feel like allowing you to travel to more than one universe¡± I stare at him. ¡°This is confusing, where am I going?¡± ¡°To the world of RWBY!¡± he says with a smile ¡°Ruby? The crystal?¡± ¡°... Are you messing with me?¡± ¡°...yeah. But I only heard of it.¡± ¡°... whatever, I guess I should tell you. So basically, RWBY is set in the world of Remnant, and each person has a power that they call semblances, they also make their own weapons, so if you want, just describe what weapon you want when i¡¯m done. Next they usaually go to a school to be hunters/huntresses. What do they hunt? Well, there are these things called grimm that terrorize the world. Each is its own level of power, but some can¡¯t be taken down alone. Next and definitely least, the world is split into four countries; Atlas, Mistral, Vale and Vacuo. There are more that aren¡¯t there, but these four matter the most right now. You got all that?¡± ¡°yup,¡± I say, smirking. ¡°...Nice, now I¡¯m going to give you two powers and two favors, use the wisly, I will only give you another one at the Vytal festival as that''s important. Their are also set backs with those¡± ¡°SO I won¡¯t see you till then?¡± He smiles, ¡°Nope! You¡¯re on your own! Now describe your dream weapon.¡± I think about it and then remember something from my childhood. ¡°Can I have two swords that transform into a staff each and Assault-Rifle and sniper when combined?¡± He looks at me then looks away as if contemplating something. ¡°It''s very complicated, but I can do it.¡± He holds his hands out and it starts materializing. ¡°What color you want it?¡± ¡°Red with black,¡± I say without hesitation. ¡°Ok, and the two powers?¡± ¡°First I want to be a Saiyan. Next I want to be able bring any inanimate item from my world or dragon ball, without any problems.¡± ¡°Granted. And the two favors?¡± I smirk. ¡°I wish to know all the techniques Goku does, and I wish My body doesn¡¯t take any strain from techniques like kaioken and UI for a set amount of time. And I don''t need to be around god ki to unlock SSG.¡± ¡°Ok¡­ there! That''s done and so is your weapon.¡± He tosses it to me and I catch it. ¡°Wow, this is so cool.¡± I say slinging them around my back. ¡°And those set backs?¡± ¡°AH yes, uh¡­ due to the fact you want to be a saiyan, I am going to start you off very weak for a saiyan actually, especially with the kaioken you asked for. And for the UI, I am only going to give you speed and dodging capabilities, not that power up. The ability to bring stuff from earth and the dragon ball universe? Yeah, no dragon balls, I¡¯m not having you wish away those setbacks. And you can only bring inanimate objects, that way you can¡¯t make dragon balls by bringing a Namekian. And that''s all. Your durability is through the Train hard, eat well, and stay safe. Im giving you a starter pack of a 100,000 lien, and I''m dropping you off in vale a year before the enrolment.¡± ¡°Ok,¡± I look down and see that a light around me shines brighter. ¡±Later!¡± ¡°Nice seeing you.¡± Help support creative writers by finding and reading their stories on the original site. The light engulfs me and then goes black. . . . I wake up and see a short girl with pink and brown hair watching me. Once she notices I¡¯m awake she smiles and waves. I smile slightly and wae back. She pulls out what I assume to be a scroll and types something on it. She walks over to where I¡¯m laying down ¡®You doing ok?¡¯ I look at her in confusion. ¡°I¡¯m sorry, do you know me?¡± She looks surprised and then runs off. I look around to see that I¡¯m in a warehouse of somesorts. Before I can fully register my surroundings, a voice snaps me out of my thoughts. ¡°What do you mean he has amnesia? ¡­I know that he hit his head hard, but we need him to be able to distract the hunters and cops.¡± A man with orange hair and a bowlers hat walks in and takes a good look at me. ¡°Do you remember who I am?¡± I look at him and shake my head. ¡°Sorry, I have no idea where I am or who any of you are.¡± He shakes his head and sighs. ¡°Welp, We¡¯re are in for a rough time.¡± *Timeskip* After nearly a whole year, I finally get the basis of this world and my powers down. They also developed a plan to get me into Beacon to be their person on the inside. ¡°So after this last heist, i am going to beacon and take their entrance exam?¡± ¡°Precisely, and while your there, I will send Neo there to check up on you. Now, lets go over the heist.¡± After going over the plan we get on the bull head and fly to the city. Once off I put on my mask and cloak. We walk through the city and I notice everyone backing off from us as they seem terrified of us. As Roman and the others go in, I stand outside and keep an eye out for anyone. I hear a crash of glass and see one of my comrades thrown out of a window with a small girl with red tipped hair and silver eyes. As she stands up her weapon unfolds and reveals a scythe. She then slams into the ground after doing a minor trick. ¡°Ok,¡± Roman starts. ¡°Get her.¡± I hold my hand out. ¡°Get the dust to the bullhead, Red here¡¯s mine.¡± I grab both my weapons and transform them into their sword forms. ¡°Let''s dance.¡± I launch forward and swing, but she lifts herself up to her scythe and tries to kick me. I duck and she jumps off her scythe and swings it around, she then fires a shot causing her to spin around. I block the attack with my sword and parry each attack with skill. Once I see roman give me the ok, I transform my sword into a gun and fire a smokescreen shot at her. Once it connects I run up to roman and grab the dust he has and teleports to the bullhead. I place the dust down and brace myself as cinder lifts the bullhead up so roman can get on. He jumps on and throws a red dust crystal at the girl. He fires a shot and there''s an explosion I sense another ki appear however and combine my weapons and it transforms into sniper mode and aim. As soon as the dust clears, lo and behold, their was a blonde chic with some sort of shield blocking the shot. As soon as the shield goes down I fire my shot and hit her, but she managed to block it in time with a shot of energy. As the other shots hit the bull head, roman runs up to the cockpit and gets cinder. Cinder walks out and starts dealing with the woman. However, the blonde gets the upper hand and starts to break the ship. I run and get a big dust shardas soon as cinder finally regains control, I throw the shard at them once cinder attacks. This causes and explosion and we manage to get away. *small Time skip* After saying goodbye to everyone I manage to get on the bullhead. I end up going to the window and sit by a window, and think of everything that''s happened in the past year. My train of thought is broken by a yellow haired girl talking to¡­ oh my Oum. It¡¯s the girl from before. I am glad that I¡¯m wearing my gi, but what if she recognizes my voice? ¡°I don¡¯t want anyone to think i¡¯m special.¡± ¡°That''s where you¡¯re wrong,¡± I interrupt, without realizing. ¡°If you are here, that makes you special no matter how old you are.¡± A news broadcast then interrupts me ¡®The robbery was led by nefarious criminals Roman torchwick and his mysterious partner the masked saiyan who continue to evade authorities. If you have any info, please contact the vale police department.¡¯ It then cuts into other news. The news is interrupted by a hologram of the woman we fought yesterday. ¡°Who¡¯s that?¡± the yellow headed girl ask ¡®My name is Glynda goodwitch, you are one of the privileged few who get the honor of being selected to attend this prestigious academy. Our world is experiencing an incredible time of peace, and as future huntsman and huntresses, it is your duty to uphold it. You have demonstrated the courage needed for such a task, and now it is our turn to provide you with the knowledge, and the training to protect our world.¡¯ the hologram disappears and that silver-eyed girl runs to the window. I walk off, hoping to not run into her again for now. . . . . . As we get off, a guy shoves past me and runs to the trash can. I just walk off to the auditorium I walk towards the yellow haired girl from earlier. ¡°Hey, sorry for interrupting on the bullhead, my names Robert Hutchison.¡± ¡°Yang, Yang xiao long. That was a nice thing to say to my sister.¡± ¡°I only said that as I got in without being in combat school.¡± ¡°Wait really?¡± ¡°Yeah, I show great promise though.¡± ¡°So whats your semblance then?¡± ¡°I can manipulate my energy into something I want. I can transfer it to other people to give them a boost in energy, or I can transfer it into my weapon to deal more damage. I can also transfer it outside my body for ranged attacks, or concentrate it on my hand to create what I call a ki blade.¡± ¡°... Wow, that''s a lot for a single semblance. I see why you were allowed.¡± I was about to say something else but yang noticed the girl from earlier. ¡°Ruby! Over here! I saved you a spot!¡± Ruby then runs up to us. ¡°Hey! Its you¡­ uh¡­¡± ¡°Robert,¡± I say holding my hand out ¡°Ruby,¡± She says, accepting the handshake. ¡°So,¡± yang says interrupting. ¡°Hows your first day going little sister?¡± ¡°You mean since you ditched me and I exploded?¡± ¡°Yikes, meltdown already?¡± ¡°No, I literally exploded a hole in front of the school.¡± They then talk for a bit until a pure white girl jumped in. ruby jumps into her sisters arms out of fear and I laugh a bit. After the girl gets on to ruby with side effects of a medicine on tv speed, ¡°Um, it sounds like you guys got off on the wrong foot. Why don¡¯t you start over and¡­ try to be friends?¡± ¡°Great Idea sis! Hello weiss, I¡¯m ruby. Wanna hangout? We could go shopping for school supplies~.¡± ¡°Yeah! And we could paint our nails, and try on clothes and talk about cute boys, like him,¡± She points at me, causing me to put my hands up. ¡°Or tall, blonde and scraggly,¡° she then points at the guy who threw up. ¡°Really?!¡± ¡°No.¡± Mic feedback breaks the mood. ¡°I¡¯ll¡­ keep this brief.¡± I look up and see a white haired man. ¡°You¡¯ve traveled here in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills. And when you are finished, you plan to dedicate your life to the protection of the people. But I look amongst you, and all I see is wasted energy.¡± My mind goes blank after hearing that. ¡°A need of purpose, direction.¡± This starts ticking me off. ¡°You assume knowledge will free you of this. But your time at this school will prove that knowledge will carry you so far. It is up to you to take the first step.¡± I calm down after that. Glynda then says where we will be staying and that the exam starts tomorrow, she then dismisses us. ¡°Well¡­ that was weird.¡± ¡°Yeah, it was like he wasn¡¯t there.¡± ¡°I¡¯m a natural blonde by the way.¡± I jump back and fire a ball of ki at the blonde dude, who narrowly dodges it as the blast curves up and causes an explosion catching everyone''s attention. ¡°Uh¡­ I did mention my semblance, right?¡± I ended up learning his name was jaune. *timeskip* After putting on my shirt and putting my weapons up, I then head to where we were sleeping. I see a girl by a candle reading, so I decide to read as well. ¡°Do you mind if I sit here?¡± She looks up from her book. ¡°No, go ahead.¡± she looks back down at her book. I pull out one of my favorite books from earth and start reading. She looks over after a bit. ¡°Huh, I don¡¯t think I¡¯ve seen that book before, what''s it called?¡± I look up. ¡°Oh, its a¡­ called The Lightning Thief. Basically, It¡¯s set in an alternate universe where gods fall in love with mortals who give birth to kids called demigods. The gods originate from a mythology from that universe, so that means the monsters are real. However, they don¡¯t bother them, only demigods. And¡­ you know what? Want a copy to read for yourself? I brought spares just for this scenario.¡± She thinks about it, and I swear her bow twitches a bit. ¡°Sure, is it a full series?¡± ¡°Uh, yes and no, there are still spinoffs, but the mainline story is finished. I can lend you the series if you like it.¡± ¡°Ok, thanks.¡± ¡°Whats your book about?¡± ¡°Oh, its about a man with two souls, each fighting for control.¡± ¡°Cool, I wonder what that''s like. Is it any good?¡± ¡°So far.¡± I then see Yang drag Ruby over. ¡°Hello~! And uh, hey to you as well Robert.¡± ¡°Hey. well, nice meeting you,¡± I put the book next to blake. ¡°Tell me what you think of it.¡± I walk to my sleeping bag and am about to fall asleep when my scroll buzzes. ¡®Hey! How was your first day of school?¡¯ ¡®It was fine, how was your day Neo?¡¯ ¡®Boring, I guess I was used to the chaos you caused.??¡¯ ¡®Don''t do that. You know it weirds me out.¡¯ ¡®Yup ?? I know¡¯ ¡®Whatever, I¡¯m going to sleep. Talk to you later.¡¯ ¡®Night¡¯ ¡®Night¡¯ I turn off my scroll and head to sleep. meet the team As soon as I woke up I got ready for the day ahead, and after eating a lot of food, I headed to my locker to go get my gi. Once there I see a red-haired girl next to my locker, talking to that Weiss girl. ¡°Uh, Hi,¡± I say, after switching my swords into staff mode and slinging them around my back. ¡°Hello, I¡¯m Pyrrha.¡± ¡°Robert, pleasure to meet you.¡± ¡°The pleasure is all mine.¡± ¡°Who do you hope to team up with?¡± ¡°I¡¯m just going to let the chips fall.¡± ¡°Ok, well, I want to be teamed up with someone very powerful! I want a partner I can spar with and not worry about harming them. Maybe you?¡± Weiss intervenes. ¡°Whoa whoa whoa! Do you know who you''re talking to?¡± ¡°Yeah. Pyrrha.¡± ¡°... do¡­ you actually know about her.¡± ¡°I just know her name.¡± ¡° *sigh* She graduate top of her class at sanctum.¡± ¡°Where?¡± ¡°Uh! She¡¯s won the mistral regional championship four years in a row, a new record.¡± ¡°The what?¡± ¡°TCH! Shes on the front of every pumpkin pete¡¯s marshmallow flakes box!¡± ¡°I dont pay attention to the boxes.¡± ¡°UGH! You may be cute and all, but how can you be so clueless?¡± ¡°I don¡¯t know, how can you have so much attitude?¡± i ask, genuinely. ¡°I-! Wait, what?¡± Luckily, jaune starts bothering Weiss, I slip away from them before weiss can redirect her attention back to me *time skip* As Ozpin tells us what the test is, people are suddenly launched into the air, Catching me by surprise, until the pedestal I was standing under pops forward, launching me in the air. As I was falling, I decide to just float down. Once I landed, I looked around. I then ran straight towards the temple. On my way there, I bump into someone. ¡°OW!¡± ¡°Sorry,¡± I say, helping them up. Once we looked into each other''s eyes, the deal was sealed. ¡°Name¡¯s Ember. My semblance is flame control,¡± He says, creating a small flame on his finger. ¡°Robert. My semblance is Ki manipulation,¡± I reply, creating a ki ball in my finger to copy him. ¡°Alright, lets head straight to the relics, Ember.¡± ¡°You got it.¡± we then run north to get there. Once there we look around and just see a bunch of chess pieces. ¡°Which one should we take?¡± ¡°Hmm¡­ why not the black rook?¡± ¡°Ok.¡± He grabs the rook. ¡°Now what?¡± ¡°I have no idea actually.¡± I look around and see yang and blake. ¡°Oh. HEY!¡± I yell waving my hands. ¡°OVER HERE!¡± ¡°Hey Robert, Is this your partner?¡± Yang ask while jumping down. ¡°Yeah this is Ember.¡± ¡°¡®Sup.¡± He nonchalantly says. ¡°Hey, are these the relics?¡± ¡°I have no idea,¡± I remark, scratching my head. ¡°I just took one and was about to go-¡± This story originates from Royal Road. I was interrupted by a scream. ¡°*gasp* sounds like a girl is in trouble,¡± Yang says after taking a white knight. ¡°Yang¡­¡± Blake says looking up. I look up and see ruby falling from a nevermore. ¡°Look out!¡± Ruby yells before getting sideswiped by jaune. Then two people named ren and nora run in on an ursa, then Pyrrha runs in being chased by a deathstalker. Yang then sorta explodes, calming everyone down. Weiss then drops down from the same nevermore, but jaune catches her in time for them to both fall. Next two other people run from the forest, also being chased by a nevermore. Once we all gather, Ruby decides to show off by attacking the deathstalker. ¡°RUBY!¡± Yang yells as she runs off. As one of the nevermores shoots its feathers, She retreated, but was caught by one of the feathers. ¡°GET OUT OF THERE!¡± Yang shouts as the deathstalker is about to attack. ¡°I¡¯m trying!¡± Ruby says pulling her cape/cloak. Before I get a chance to move, Weiss runs ahead and freezes the deathstalkers tail. I run ahead and help the two people. I fire a couple of ki blast at the nevermore who just circles around with the other one. ¡°Whats yall¡¯s name?¡± ¡°I¡¯m Micheal, and my semblance is adaptiveness,¡± he says while grabbing the black rook. ¡°I can adapt to any situation given time, no matter what. If I don¡¯t have something needed, or don¡¯t know what I need, I can summon it just by thinking.¡± ¡°My name is Briana,¡± The girl says as Ruby, Weiss, and Yang get back to the group. ¡°My semblance is future sight, and I can see a few minutes ahead of time. I recommend that we get out of here before those grimm return.¡± ¡°What are we going to do?¡± jaune asks in a worried tone. ¡°Look,¡± Weiss says. ¡°There is no sense in dilly-dallying, our objective is right there,¡± She gestures to the chess pieces. ¡°Shes right,¡± Ruby says in a leader voice. ¡°Our mission is to grab an artifact and make it back to the cliffs.¡± Ruby and Weiss nod to each other. ¡°Their is no point in fighting these.¡± ¡°Good idea,¡± Jaune says. ¡°Now that is a plan I can get behind.¡± Ruby, Jaune, and Micheal grab the white knight, rook, and black rook. We run off back to the cliffs. Along the way, the grimm finally catch up and start attacking. As we were crossing the bridge, one of the nevermores crashes into it, separating the group. ¡°EMBER, You help jaune and them. Micheal and briana help Ruby and the rest. Leave the last grimm to me.¡± I run along the falling pieces of the bridge firing Ki blast at it to distract it from the rest. I manage to get up the mountain and jump on it to it. I look down and see that ember and them are dealing with the other grim. I grab my weapon and it transforms into sword mode. I infuse my ki into it and start slashing at the grimm. It does little to no damage however, and it does a barrel roll to make me fall off. I stab its back and manage to hang on. ¡°Tch, this is taking too long,¡± I say as I see nora slam her hammer into the deathstalker¡¯s head. ¡°Kaioken! X3!¡± I start charging a kamehameha. ¡°KA¡­ ME¡­ HA¡­ ME¡­ HA!!¡± I aim it underneath me, causing it to go straight through.It crashes into the cliff causing me to fall off. I focus on the energy around me and use instant transmission to teleport to the nearest person. It ends up being Ruby, who is caught off guard by my sudden appearance. ¡°What-? Where¡¯d you come from?¡± ¡°Magic,¡± I say, doing the imagination spongebob meme. ¡°Huh?¡± ¡°A trick only I know.¡± I say, watching the nevermore¡¯s head she cut off fade into dust. *Timeskip* ¡°And finally, Robert Hutchison, Ember Lynn, Micheal Groth, and Briana Hansley. Together, you obtained the black rook piece. From now on, you shall be known as Team EMBR, With your leader Being Ember Lynn.¡± Everyone clapps as I stand on stage smiling, Glad I¡¯m not the leader. Ember jabs my side. ¡°Why am I the leader?¡± ¡°Simple, You didn¡¯t abandon the others, plus, you have a sense of leadership.¡± He smiles. ¡°Glad to have you by my side, partner.¡± I die on the inside as he says that. Poor chap already trusts me, so now I¡¯m going to feel terrible once I have to leave to do a heist, or if he should find out. As we walked to our room, Ember came up with a small plan. ¡°Ok, how about we unpack now so we don¡¯t have to do it tomorrow, and the set an alarm so that we don¡¯t miss class in the morning.¡± ¡°Sounds like a plan boss,¡± Micheal says. As I¡¯m unpacking, my scroll rings. ¡°Uh, I gotta take this.¡± I set my stuff down and go outside. ¡°What is it Roman?¡± ¡°Just telling you ahead of time, I plan on recruiting the white fang into our operation.¡± ¡°What? Are you crazy? They hate humans. Why would you even attempt that?¡± ¡°Because we need more men! We are scraping by with what we have, and you know how demanding cinder is.¡± ¡°True. Well, if you think it will work, just tell me ahead of time so that I don¡¯t get caught off guard.¡± ¡°Alright. That''s it, I will send you the coordinates to our next heist soon.¡± ¡°Got it.¡± I hang up the scroll. . . . . . As the alarm went off, I got up and grabbed my uniform. I¡¯m glad we got to customize it, as I just made it a vest that I can where since I hate uniforms, due to some incidents at private schools on Earth. After getting dressed, I head to class once its 8:40. I get to Port¡¯s class I take a seat in the front, so that way I can see everything since I am blind, and I left my glasses at the hideout. As port talks about grimm, I look over to my right and see team RWBY bored out of their minds. I look back at my notes and notice that almost all of it is blank, I write down a bunch of notes as he keeps telling the story of his first kill. Once he is done with his story, he starts naming things a huntsman should have. ¡°A true huntsman must be honorable. A true huntsman must be dependable. A true huntsman must be strategic, well-educated, and wise. So, who among you believes themselves to be the embodiment of these traits?¡± ¡°I do sir!¡± I look over and see Weiss with an angry expression on her face. ¡°Well then,¡± Port says, waving his hand towards a container I swear wasn¡¯t there before. ¡°Step right up and face your opponent.¡± life problems As Weiss stepped up to the container, I couldn''t help but wonder why she seemed so eager to do it. As Professor Port opened the cage, a boarbatusk ran out, charging straight at her. She sidestepped it and slashed at it, but that did nothing. Her team was shouting words of encouragement to her, but for some reason, she got mad at Ruby a lot. Whenever Ruby shouted encouragement or praise, Weiss yelled at her to shut up. "Hey, Ember." He looks at me. "Yeah?" "Why is Weiss so... cold towards Ruby?" He raises his eyebrow and looks to the fight. "Huh, I have no idea..."
Weiss eventually kills the boarbatusk and class ends. As I''m about to walk off my scroll rings. "Hello?" "Robert, how goes the mission?" "It''s going great Roman. no one suspects a thing." He laughs. "That''s great. listen, There''s gonna be a heist soon. can you be available at (insert time)?" I look at my scroll''s calendar. "Uh... yeah. is this the big heist?" "Yes. I''ll see you then. huh?" It sounds like Roman is distracted. "Ok ok. uh, Neo says Hi. like she doesn''t have a scroll." I laugh. "Ok, tell her I say hi back." "ok, i''ll talk to you later." He hangs up, leaving me standing outside. I then walk to my next class
over the next few weeks, I get to scope the place out more and more. I have no idea why I have to scope the place out. Roman doesn''t either but he says to do it anyway. one day while watching jaune, I notice a lot of mistakes with his form. I nudge Pyrrha, who''s sitting next to me. "Hey," I say once she looks over. "He seems a bit inexperienced." She has an uneasy look. "I know what you mean. but I feel he has some untapped potential. you know what I mean?" "no," I say, still watching him. "But I''m sure you can see something I can''t." we look back at the fight and I see cardin holding his mace towards jaune. "This is the part where you lose" "Over my dead-" Cardin knees Jaune in the gut, cutting him off and knocking him to the ground. just as he''s about to swing his mace down, the buzzer rang and professor Goodwitch speaks. "Cardin, that''s enough!" Cardin scoffs and walks off, and goodwitch takes his spot while tapping a few buttons on her tablet. "Students," She starts.
