 I don’t wanna be here! Ch. 1

    Huuuu¡­ , Another late night shifts.. It''s been many days since I''d been home. I really missed laying on my couch, drink my thoughts away, and play with Chichi.. These workload keeps coming in , and I don''t know if I can finish this tonight.


    " Miss Laurel" my manager called out to me.


    "Want more coffee? sorry that you have to be here past work hours all the time" she said, as her eyes droops away slowly almost to the floor.


    "It''s okay ma''am, another cup of coffee will sure to save us tonight!" I said enthusiastically as if my eye bags wasn''t swelling like a bean bag enough.


    "Thank you Laurel" she smiled. " We''re almost finished with the project, if this comes out well, I''ll be sure to put in good words for you." She said, as she walked off out the office to get us more coffee.


    It''s quiet, here in this office with empty seats, only the light from my computer and the blue moon brightens this room. A few hours ago, the streets were bright and loud, other buildings were lit, and noisy traffics can be heard all around the building , now I hear and see nothing.


    I don''t hate this. It''s peaceful but¡­ I never thought that I''d spend my life like this, in an office.. I don''t have plans anymore, I''m not saying I don''t have any will to live, I''m just saying that the cage that I have built around me, I''ve lost the key. And I have no strength to find the way out¡­ well whatever let''s finish this and I''ll fly straight home to bed hehehe..


    As I was getting ready, I stretched my arm out and- "!!! Argghh!!" I grumbled and screech in pain, at that moment, I feel like there''s a thousand needles piercing my head, my vision starts to darkening , I can hear a voice of someone¡­ wh-what is she saying¡­ I-I''m slowly losing control over my body¡­


    "MISS KANNAVIS!!!" I snapped back to my senses as I heard someone shouting that name. Huh. Where am I? As I was looking around, this place looks different¡­  the interior designs of the place I''m in is like a palace in the Victorian age!! So Majestic!! The ceiling were high, there''s a huge chandelier hanging down from there. There were painitings, a fire place, two huge arch windows letting the sun brighten the room and the two doors facing the windows on the opposite sides of the room¡­ So Elegant!!! As I was looking at the people around me, all of them are in a maid clothing, this must really be a fantasy land isn''t it?!¡­ but their expressions.. they looked panicked.. why are they staring at me¡­


    "Mhm.." I heard a soft groan from underneath me, I took a look and there''s a girl who was also in a maid dress laying on the floor, one of her hand was holding her upper body up, another placing on her head, this girl, she looks young, her white hair was long , a bit wavy on the tip end, her bang was styled sideways not too much to cover her violet eyes , her skin is pale but glowing, her lip shaped like a heart with a peach- colored.

    I was confused as to what is happening around me, and why did that name sound so familiar to me. I tried to recall what I was doing, that I was in my office, working on the game project with my manager- wait, this settings¡­ this person in front of me¡­ THIS IS DEFINITELY-


    Suddenly there''s footstep rushing through the door, swinging it open-" KANNA!!!" A tall guy walked in, his outfit was like a noble man, maybe in his early twenties with a dark blue, almost tinted black flat cut hair, his eyes almost gold like pupil with a hooded-gaze staring directly at me with a disgusted look. As fast as he came in, his gaze changed and went to the girl on the floor, his expression also became soften, he hurried to her side brushing me off, " Irene¡­ are you alright?" He said, then gazed back at me furiously " SERIOUSLY KANNAVIS CORVUS, THat ALTITUDES OF YOurs IS A DISGRACE to oUR FAMILY!!! I Can''T sTand By and WaTch You.. Wha- WHere Are you Going?!" Yeah I can''t stand by to hear this pretty guy yapping whatever at my face.


    I rushed out the door, running through this huge hallway, such intricate designs only to be seen in the early days in the west. There were people cosplaying like a butler and maids through the way I''ve passed, they all looked at me with a confused but also nervous expressions, no one tried to stop me. My expression at that moment wasn''t different from theirs, I have no idea of what was going, where and why am I here, I have a bit of an idea what all of this is, but to bring myself to this conclusion would be too insane.


    I ran and met with a hall with 2 sets of stairs spiral up, I rushed up to one of them, running down to the end of the hall, and shut myself in on the room. " huuu¡­ I cannot believe this¡­" I sighed. The room I was in had a queen sized bed with a huge window and a balcony to the sides. The dressing and makeup area was on the other side and- A mirror.


    I contemplated for a moment, taking deep breath once more, slowly walks up to the mirror and stared at it.


    In the mirror, I saw a girl with an appearance similar of the guy earlier , with a dark blue bob haircut , small stature, sharp almond shaped eyes with golden iris staring back at me. Huhhh.. as I was placing my hand feeling my face, the girl in the mirror did the same¡­ This Girl iN tHE MirRor Is ME!!!


    "Kannavis Corvus.. they called me¡­" Tears start to welled up my eyes " Did I become a character in a game?"

    My name is Laurel Mist. I was a worker for a game development company  which we were working on a project that was soon to released called  Levanta Strings. It''s a otome game that focuses on the Female main character named Irene Briar  adventuring through the Autumn lands which is the biggest continent of this world. Through her adventures, she''s met with countless obstacles, getting stronger, having many love interests, a demonic rival and followed by a cunning villainess , torturing her by her side.


    In the end, she ends up with one of the male lead, saving the Autumn lands from deadly catastrophes, and her villainess, met with a  miserable ending being eaten by a bunch of monsters¡­Now back to me, Laurel Mist has ended up in this world, and also became that villainess of the story¡­ whelp.


    I''ve locked myself in this room for awhile now, apparently I ran straight into my bedroom, didn''t know my place is almost detached from the whole castle, how convenient huh. The sun has fallen, I need to get my thoughts together, how did I end up here? Did I die in my original world and transmigrated into this world? Well whatever the case is, I''m sure my future here isn''t looking any better from the previous one.


    *Knock, knock*


    The sudden knocks from the door  surprised me, " My lady." That voice, even though I have only heard a soft groan like it, I still remember vividly. I rushed to open the door. It was the female main character, Irene Briar. Now that I take a second look at her, her beauty''s truly out of this world, is this an Angel in front of me? Damn the character''s design department of our company sure knows how to make a goddess.


    " Your evening meal, my lady" her voice was delicate like a flower, but her gaze upon me holds no satisfaction, that kinda hurt. " Shall I help you change into a new set of cloth too, it is dirtied of my blood."  Oh my- why did that make me blushed, your  blood can splattered on me more you know¡­ hmph! I gestured for her to come in. She placed the meal on the table near the window, I sat on the chair , placed at the end of my bed watching her as she went through my wardrobe, trying to find a new dress for me.


    Right, the scene that have occured until now, I''ve met the main character, Irene Briar, in the Viscum Academy of the Lilium Kingdom, one of the most prestigious academy of the Autumn Lands, only the riches and greatest scholar  in the world can enter the Academy. Irene is no aristocrat linage, she is but a commoner , but she is a talented genius in Magic! Did I mention that this is also a magical world?


    Contrary from the Female main character, the villainess, Kannavis Corvus, is a spoiled brat, she is of  the Corvus House, one of the three Great family that founded the Lilium kingdom, the most powerful kingdom in the Autumn Lands. She''s got beauty and riches, but unfortunately, the spirit world disfavored her , she has barely any affinities with magic, even casting a simple light magic would cause her whole strength to deplete completely. Because of such a defect, she has a bitter  taste for the magic around her, and the moment she lays eyes on Irene, her blood would boiled down with inferiority .


    " Hey you! What''s your name?"  Kannavis asked.


    " ? Irene Briar" Then, Kannavis walked up to Irene, one finger placing under Irene chin.


    " Irene Briar, I''ll be looking forward to your time here." Kannavis said with a smugged  expression on her face. After that day, Kannavis underlings would bullied Irene, pulling some real despicable pranks on her , but there would not be too much harm to her, because the prince of the Lilium kingdom, who was one of the male lead attending the academy, would always be there in time to save her.

    This angered Kannavis even more because the prince, who''s supposed to be her fianc¨¦ is defending another girl in front of the whole academy. It would mostly end up as a  huge embarrassment for her, she would become a laughing stock to all that were around her, whispers and laughs about her echoes through the hallway. One day, she found a perfect solution, she''d pull some strings and get Irene to become her personal maid, then she can tortured her in private, with her own hand, and no one can stop her.


    That''s what she thought, but the tall guy, darker-blue hair, golden pupil guy, named Galium Corvus, Kannavis''s brother, whom would be another male lead, took a liking for Irene too. This would be a bit of an annoyance for Kannavis, but this was nothing. Until the scene last morning, the prince came to visit Kannavis for a tea party, she was thrilled, but the whole time, his majesty''s gaze would be on Irene, the maid attending, and not Kanna who was in front of him.


    After his majesty left, Kannavis would start yelling at Irene, then ended up throwing a kettle at her head, causing a massive scene in the manor, then her brother, Galium, came in and the rest is history.


    " My lady, is this dress to your liking?" I snapped back to reality, forgetting that I was with her the whole time. She looked a bit nervous but she wasn''t backing down, like a hard-headed puppy. Heh.


    " Mmh, it''s fine." I started to walked up to her. " From now on, you don''t have to attend to my needs" she looked confused. " I''m sorry?"


    " From today onwards, you will no longer be my personal maid, you can still be a maid for the house, but I don''t need you by my side anymore." She looked taken aback, that looked on her face saying are you joking? What are you trying to pull this time? Your expression is really showing on your face puppy~


    " Was my service of any lackings to you, my lady? If there was something wrong, please, would you tell me?" Huh, I thought she''d be overjoyed by my request right now? is she perhaps.. testing my intentions?

    " Ah- you don''t have to-" she didn''t listen to my request at all and started  to take off my clothes, waa wha- , no one ever helped me dress other than my mother since I was 9.


    Now a beautiful angel, straight out of a fantasy, literally , is behind me undressing me, I could feel the heat rushing through my brain, my pretty people resistance is at its limit right now. Suddenly, her cold finger  touched my back, I couldn''t hold in..and I let out a squeal.


    " eep!!" She looked surprised, I was also surprised. The silent was so loud, can she hear my heart beats right now? I got away and faced her, but my eyesight was trying to avoid hers like I''m avoiding paying my college debts.


    "Mmh, Leave..right now!" I try to be as demanding as I can, she understood, nodded and took her leave. I was left alone with my thoughts running wild again. " huuu¡­this is too much¡­." I said, then slowly melt to the floor.


    On the other side of the door¡­


    " Well¡­ how did it go?" A few maids, waiting outside asking Irene.


    " hmm.. I didn''t get hit." Irene said, she looked confused, hmm something changed.

I''ve been past timing doing all the luxurious things I can think of in this manor, just been enjoying being rich, eating all the fancy cookies I want.Sometimes, I would look out the window to the garden, and today, I saw Irene with my brother, he looked all smitten and shy around her, huh.. what''s so funny, who knows she can laugh like that¡­ an expression I''ve never seen before¡­hmm how interesting .


    " Wha a munch of-" before I could finish my sentence, Irene looked at me, we locked eyes for a moment, the cookie was still in my hand, then, she tilled her head a bit, a look of curiosity. Were you staring?


    Wa-What, at that moment I instinctively ducked my head down " wha fis thast looc" i said, with cookies still in my mouth.

    " My lady."


    I gulped away my cookie. " Come in".


    Then an elderly woman with gray hair and hazel eyes, in a maid dress, wearing a black collar different from the other maids walked in.


    " Oh my- my lady, this room is a mess, this is not how a lady''s room should be, and ohhh you got cookies all over your face, oh you don''t have to stand up, your leg-"


    " Ohh it''s alright Holly, I''m a tough gum, this is nothin- Ahh!"

    Holly is the head maid of the house, she used to be Kannavis personal maid and her godmother, only Holly is in Kannavis''s good grace, Holly has always cared for her. She might be a commoner, but Kannavis treats her better than anyone, like a family.


    " By the way, my lady, sir Rowan is returning from the front line today, and he would like to meet you but if you don''t want to.."


    " No it''s fine, I''ll go meet him. After all, he came all the way from there to meet us."


    Sir Rowan Teulia, from the house of Teulia, is a family of knights serving the house of Corvus. Our history went way back. He would play with us, and Holly would be there to serve us snacks, but because of that incident, Galium and me grew apart, and Rowan¡­ Did we develop such deep backstories for these characters? Even though I''m part of the project, I''ve never known of such details¡­


    " Miss Kannavis"


    A middle aged man, maybe in his forties, brown hair with a buzz cut, a beard covered his jawline. He dressed in full armor, equipped with a long sword beside his waist, a crest of the house of Corvus stamped on his chestplate. With a warm smile, he got down on one knee and kissed my hand.


    " Sir Rowan." I said.


    He stood up and we took a seat opposite of each other in a lavish living room, the lights shining through the windows, showing enough of the extravagant design of the room that it always put me in awe.


    "How have you been, Miss Kannavis? and your legs¡­ Are you alright?"

    " Hmph! I''m perfectly fine. What about you, Sir Rowan?"


    " Thank you for your worry, my lady. All is good, those weird activities from the forest seems to be dying down, and I came bearing gifts from the duke too."

    "I didn''t know you were coming, then I would have come to greet you¡­ Kanna why didn''t you call for me?"


    Huh..the way he phrased it really make me wanna punch him in the face¡­, this guyyy. YOURE THE ONE who was ALL Lovely Dovey over theRe!!!


    "oh how could I interrupt your time with your babe¡­"


    I mumbled to myself. Irene was definitely looking at me strangely as I said that.


    "Oh it''s alright sir Galium, I came quick without a notice, so it would have been hard for you to squeeze in time for old me."


    Rowan said this with such a happy face. Oh Rowan, this guy was doing nothing of important earlier, you don''t have to be this humbled.


    "Anyway, now that I''ve seen sir Galium, if you''ll excuse me, I''ll be taking my leave now"


    "Oh you''re not staying for dinner, Sir Rowan?", I asked.


    "Ah it''s alright, I am very honored, but my vacation days are short, so I''d like to go visit my mother and daughter.."

    Galium went to see Rowan off, I wished to go to, but because of my ankle, I was told to wait in the living room.

    Seriously, this guy''s really getting on my nerve " These are gifts from father."

    " Yes, it is. Sir Rowan met him on the way here, and left these things to us with him."


    "Seriously, that old man, he hasn''t been home for months and this is what he does. Oh this thing is heavy?"


    Galium hold his gift up and opened the box, and it was a set of newly design magic knights chain armor, it''s so glistening that I thought I was going blind.


    "Huh old man, not bad."


    He said that, but he couldn''t hide his excitement off his face at all.


    " What about you Kanna? What do you get?"


    That was not a genuine question, it''s more like he wants to know if my gift is better than him or not, but I am also curious, will he treat me like he always does or not.


    I opened the box, it''s just a box of chocolate from the store down the alley, that I can go buy for a mere 2 silver coins. Don''t get me wrong, I love chocolate, but Galium upon seeing my gift, was trying with zero efforts to hold back his laughters.. how annoying. Holly was there with a worried look, and Irene, she didn''t say anything either.


    "Well, I guess father really cares about you, he even bought your favorite snacks!" He grinned like a jerk as he said that.


    "At least this can be brings me satisfactions, but you, brother, I don''t think you be happy in that armor, a hideous face like yours wouldn''t match its beauty."


    He was shocked, Holly and Irene were also shocked.


    He was getting embarrassed in front of Irene


    " wha-What! KANNAVIS, How Dare You!!? You Sureee Can Talk Huh?! Remember, You''re A Misfortune! Father Doesn''t Need Someone Like You By His Side! Hah!Your Worth Would Only Amount To That Box Of Chocalates OF Yo-"

    I gave him a good knuckle to the face, I couldn''t stand him anymore, so I walked out with my chocolate, he was flabbergasted, he wouldn''t thought his spineless little sister could do that to him, did he? He was trying to follow me, but Holly tried her best to stop him and Irene followed me to help me get to my room.


    "Please, let help you, my lady.." Irene whispered to me, I couldn''t try to avoid her at that moment, so I just agreed to it. Damn the moods today''s really sour huh.

 Not My Place to Do That! Ch.4

    Kannavis Corvus, a villainess from the otome game, Levanta Strings. Because of her weak affinities with the world of magic, she''s been looked down by almost all her peers, even though they wouldn''t say it right at her face, the snickers and mockings, whispering through the wind onto her ears made her spirits wither into something wicked. Furthermore, the shades from her own blood. When giving birth to Kannavis, her mother passed away, leaving only her godmother, Holly, to took care of her.


    The Duke of Corvus was saddened by his wife passing, and blamed Kannavis for what happened. He would always favored Galium over Kannavis, and when Kannavis turned 10, people started to realize that she has no talent for magic, so she was even more discarded from the eyes of the duke, and just left to do whatever and serve to become a marriage pawn for the house.


    When Kannavis turned 12, the duke came home drunk and said this to his daughter-


    " Kannavis, don''t cause me anymore trouble. Grow up fast, and just get out of my house"


    Ouch- what a brilliant thing to said to a child¡­ I know that this memory stuck deep inside Kannavis'' mind, it''s a nightmare that would come to haunt my sleep almost every night.


    Galium and Kannavis relationship''s; however, used to be a pleasant one. Galium would always be by Kannavis''s side, protecting her and making sure that she wasn''t hurt by anyone. She thought well of her older brother and have deep respect for him. Unfortunately, after that incident with Rowan, Galium shunned Kanna away like everyone else¡­ earning her the nickname The Child of Misfortune.


    Just from this information, it''s no suprised my room is so fart apart from the others area of this manor, sh*t I have to walked so long with my leg like this, it''s so annoying¡­hmph!


    But.. what''s with this tension¡­ right, this person right here, the one that I''ve been trying to avoid all day long.. is helping me get there¡­ and she''s not saying anything! The sun has set a moment ago, and lanterns has been lit through out the manor. It''s quiet, all I''m hearing is the sound of our footsteps on this long carpet, and my breathing echoing back to my ears. One of her hand was used as a stool for me to hold on, and her other hand¡­gently placed on my waist so to help with my balance¡­


    this is too close, I''m not liking this, the air in here is too stuffed, is it always this hot in here? Is she hot? Well I mean she is hot¡­ wait what am I saying? Please stop thinking nonsense already, laurel! Wait am I Kannavis now?¡­


    ¡­ I stared at her, trying to discern her face. What about you..What are you thinking, woman..?


    " We''re here my lady." We''ve arrived at the front of my room.


    " here is fine, you can go no-" before I could say anything else, she squeezed my waist more tightly, that jolted me for a bit. I looked at her , she has such a stern expression, her wide- protruding eyes looking directly at mine saying not to tell her off, so I just went along with that.


    She placed me on my bed, making sure I was feeling comfortable.


    " Please let me help you address your wounds, my lady" then she went and brought a chair to place my foot on. She took off my boot, gently unwrapped the bandages around my ankle. It looked  swollen and red, maybe I''ve walked too much today.. she placed her hand under my foot, then proceeded to apply ointment on my ankle, gently rubbing it¡­ and massaging my foot.


    It felt¡­ really nice, my eyebrows started to frown into each other, this person¡­ after all that I did to her, bullying her in front of people, even hitting her head with a kettle, how can she still be like this? I just don''t understand¡­


    " Are you alright, my lady?"

    I sighed " Huuu..I-I apologized¡­ for what I''ve done to you up until now.., it was horrible of me to do those things to you. Because of such reason, I thought it would be best to not show my face around you, I want you.. to feel safe while working around here¡­, so that''s why I''ve been doing this.."


    I don''t know why I felt the need to explain myself like that to her, but when she said that she was leaving, it made my stomach twisted for a second¡­


    *Ouch!*


    " Wa wha-"


    when I took a look at where it was hurting, I saw Irene with both her hand grabbing my foot a bit tightly, her head leaning on my swollen ankle but she was holding herself not to pressed too hard on it.


    " If that''s what was worrying you, my lady then I sought that you should not think of such things. I am but a mere commoner and my duty here as maid is to serve my master, not to hold any hatred for what''s in the past."


    While she''s saying that, her hand is still rubbing my foot. I can feel my face turning red right now, is she noticing it¡­?


    " More than that, your apologies just now¡­ felt sincere to me.. would it be arrogance of me that I give you my forgiveness my lady-"


    " PLEASE!! I ASKED FOR YOUR FORGIVENESS..!"


    I instantly yelled that out, Irene looked at me suprised, then she started to smiled then a small laugh came out of her, exposing her teeth, her eyes squinting looking like a slice of the moon..  ahh so she could smile like that to me ¡­ this.. she reminded me of  my mom''s Pomeranian named Chichi. She''s a white furball, whenever I got back from work, she would rush toward me, running around and wouldn''t let go of my leg.


    I don''t know what came over  me, maybe she reminded me so much of my home and my dog that my body moved on its own, my hand, it leaned in and touched her head, caressing it like I was petting my dog. Oh it''s fluffy like ChiChi¡­ huh wait.

    "Eughh" A man groaned.


    " Hey! be quiet.. and keep moving, we need to get this thing to the fort before the sun rises.."


    There were 6 men, they dressed like a bandit, all armed and travelling with a huge carriage in the center pulled by 4 horses. They''re travelling through the woods , with only their torches and the moonlight shining through the leaves onto their path. Through the thick''s woods, all that can be heard are the big wheels of the carriage, footsteps of the horses slowly moving through the muddy paths.


    *CREAKS, CREAKS¡­


    One of the men at the back of the carriage got curious.. " Boss.. what''s in the carriage?"


    The other man who seems to be the leader was hesitant to answered..


    " ¡­Something you don''t need to know¡­ we deliver what we''re told to deliver, and we get paid¡­ End of the story."

    The man was dragged in the woods, his screams echoes through the trees in agony, then went silent.


    The men that was left was petrified, they couldn''t  had seen what happened, it all happened so fast, they could only see its shadow, but they knew¡­ that thing was undoubtedly humongous . They shakenky held onto their weapons, praying that the monster fill its stomach already, but one by one they were dragged away, and finally the only one left was the leader  of the bandits.


    For his last desperate attempt to challenge the monster-


    he yelled " AAARGH!!! Come Out!! Yes Beast!! I''ll Take Your Life Here!!"

    It''s boring. I''ve been in this house for  days now, I wanna go out.


    Holly said that she''s going to take me to visit the town, but she looks busy these days, so I can''t bother to ask her now.

    I was a huge horror fanatics in my past life, watching all kind of scary movies, and ghost hunting videoes. After hearing this, I prepared myself to sneak out tonight, making sure no one''s following me..


    I don''t wanna get dragged back here before I could catch of a glimpse of a ghost¡­Especially Irene. After that day, I stopped avoiding her, we just give each other friendly looks and move on¡­ but whenever we accidentally met alone, she would try to strike a conversation with me, trapping me there with new flavor of cookies every time, and each time I failed for it like a Rat!


    "My lady¡­ wouldn''t you like to caress my head again?"


    "Wha-what?! What makes you say such a thing! I-I''m leaving!"


    How annoying! Nowadays she would say such absurd things right to my face! even just seeing her face is so tempting, like why is a goddess here offering me a cookie and want to know how my days are?! I think if she wanted to she could seduce her way to the throne or something, oh yeah that can definitely happen.. she''s the main character after all, hah!


    ¡­Well whatever, if I remember correctly, tonight should be the full moon and there''s a heartwarming scene that''s going to happen between the female lead and one of the male lead in the garden. The only male lead I think that could possibly be there tonight would be my brother, that prick.. or it can be that person.. thinking about it now, I wonder if Irene had met him yet.. yeah let''s not think about it, that guy''s insane too, let''s just hope this can distract Irene for a bit, but I personally hope that Irene would just stay in bed and don''t meet with these crazy people. That would be best.


    The sun was slowly falling, I had my dinner early today telling Holly I wanna go to bed early. I prepared my bags and get ready to move.


    " Sorry Holly." I let the rope that was made with my clothes down, I jumped out and ran straight into the woods.

    "So that must be the manor up there.. and if I moved along the trail here down south, there would be a cross path to the cemetery and the other to a waterfall¡­ then this would be-"

    As I walked in the dirt trail, I began to notice that this wood is undeniably scary.. the thick pines barely letting any light shines through, the chill air that rising up the moment the sun has fallen¡­ the only way I can see the road is with my lantern¡­


    "Huuu...I''m finally at the cross paths, now if I turn left it would lead me to the cemetery.. I think?"


    *Crunch!*


    This is no coincidence anymore.


    !!! "Alright WHO''s there?! I''m not having this! ..Show yourself!"


    I immediately pulled out my pocket knife, this is getting annoying, I had a feeling since earlier that someone was following me.


    Whoever it is, they don''t seem to have any bad intentions or try to get in my way though¡­ if they wanted, they could have done things to me anytime by now.. but I have to be sure¡­


    My eyes scanned through the woods, there was nothing in particular¡­ I was getting a bit nervous that no one answered back and  the woods became silent again..


    Craps! I''m going insane aren''t I?! Maybe I panicked a bit too much I didn''t notice my steps was slowly going backwards, and at that moment, I bumped into something.. or somebody¡­ my hand moved before I could see what it was.

    I swung my knife around my back, hoping to hit something but at that moment something dodged and caught my arm. Chills ran down my spine.. wha-what..

    I wasn''t gonna say that I wasn''t spooked earlier, but now.. I am scared. When did this woman follow me?! I thought she was going to be with one of the male lead?! Is she going to dragged me back to the manor? I can''t go back without seeing anything! Quick! I need to think of something to bribe her!


    " BEFORE YOU''RE GONNA SAY SOMETHING,  DON''T¡­ say anything to anyone, please..especially Holly ¡­ I''ll do anything for it."

    "YES! Anything! Just don''t drag me back to the manor yet!"


    I said that in a quick hurry without thinking, I hadn''t  pay attention to her expressions at that time and later..I''ll soon learn to regret my decision¡­

    We walked in silence for awhile, I started to hear the sound of crickets around the path, animals howling in the distance, the wind breeze blowing through my body, it would be chilly right now, but why does my face feel so hot? I need to say something¡­

A few decades ago, these woods was full of hemlocks, they were extremely poisonous plants, and were used in the war against the enemy. The soldiers, who died in that war, was buried here... Soon enough, others began to bury other dead bodies here too and it became the Conium cemetery¡­ About the haunted part¡­ I don''t think that such rumor was true."


    " I see.. so these are the Conium''s Wood.."


    "¡­ I thought you''d knew about it my lady.. since it''s been around the Corvus manor for forever now."


    "Pfft of-of course I knew that!¡­"

    Finally we''re at the gate of the cemetery. It has Conium, branded over  it, the metal is black and rusted, it looks like it was gonna fall apart anytime soon. The area around the cemetery has such thick fogs that my range of sights would only be 6 feets around my body. Yep! Definitely spooky as the rumor said!

    ..For some reason, it''s freezing in the cemetery, and the trees surrounding the area looks dead, no leaves or whatsoever, and there are all kind of gravestones around here.


    "My lady.. What exactly are we looking for here?"


    "Mmm this and that.. they said those guys left their stuffs here, if we can find it, then that proves that the rumor might actually be true¡­"


    We walked around for awhile, and at one point, Irene stopped at a gravestone.


    The name on that gravestone was almost erased completely off the stone, but at the end, you can at least see it spelled Briar on it.


    "Is this.. one of your family''s gravestone?"


    "¡­Yes, it''s my grandmother''s."


    So this was where her grandmother was buried¡­ the story mentioned her a few times, she has a big influence on Irene''s life, her parents wasn''t around when she was little, so her grandmother was the one that looked after her. When she passed, she was adopted by some local couple, they weren''t rich or anything, but they were able to raise her well.


    "..It''s been awhile grandma. It took me a bit too long to visit this time, didn''t it? I''m sorry I couldn''t  brought you any flowers¡­ life has been busy lately, but I am doing well.. I hope you''re not too lonely over there also.."

    "Right.. grandma, as of this moment, I''m fulfilling my service for the house of Corvus , and this is my lady''s, Kannavis who is also my schoolmate. She''s a really great master and a great friend! she has always treated me really well. If it wasn''t for her kindness, I don''t think I would be able to work there for this long." She said, ALL this while having the most genuine smile.

    Her face showed true joy while saying that.. did.. she really enjoy my company around her? Me? The villainess?.. Is she being sarcastic? ..Yes that must be it..but maybe because now I haven''t bothered her in awhile, she completely forgets about it? ..No she doesn''t have a pea brain like mine¡­Every possibility was running through my head at that point that I started to stared into the void¡­

    I came back to my senses when she grabbed my arm and pulled me closer to her. Dear God.. her hair smells nice¡­ like lavender¡­ freaking hecks what am I doing!


    "It was great seeing you again grandma! I''m sorry I can''t stay a bit longer, but we''ll have to move along here before lady''s Kannavis ghost runs away."


    ¡­Sh*ts this kid keeps making fun of me! We''ll see who''s laughing when an actual ghosts showed up! Don''t come crawling to me when you get scared!


    I pulled myself away from her and started walking, Yep she''s definitely smiling behind my back.. grrrr! I walked for a good distance away from Irene,Then suddenly.

    Huh! I heard something from over there.. I started to approach the sound, it was a graspy voice, but as I walked deeper, the voice was getting louder. Wait¡­ that.. isn''t it those people equipments?


    Some torn-off clothes was there, scattered on the ground infront of a big tombstone. There were some headgears, a few pickaxes and  a shovel, all left behind ¡­ They really did left everything behind, didn''t they?  The voices was in my ears at that point. I bent down, and searched on the ground, looking for the source of the sound.


    It was clear to me.The voice was begging for me to find it.


    "Over here¡­ please.. I''m down here.."


    I searched around that tombstone, my hand was deep in the soil. Then I touched something wooded-like.


    The voice was clear this time. "Yes! Yes! You Found me!! Please¡­ Take me with you!"


    I picked it up, brushing off the dirt on it. It seems to be like a totem?¡­  it''s painted black and has a shaped like crow..


    Suddenly! I heard a loud voice screaming at my direction!


    " MY LADY!!!"


    Irene? She''s running towards me right now..Why are you screaming?

    Some.. liquid¡­ fell on my head.. it smells.. and the area around me seem to be overshadowed by something¡­

    They said when faced with death, our lives flashes before our eyes... But right now..my life''s flashback is all messed up!  It''s overlapping with Kannavis memories¡­ I''m seeing multiple scenes of my life, mixing in with Kannavis, and this keep repeating over and over again¡­ I''m gonna puke..please just eat me already¡­


    When I watched monster movies as a kid, I always wondered why they didn''t run away when the monster appeared in front of them? Just run! It''s not that hard! Why did they have to die like that? So uncool.. but now I understand. What''s above me isn''t just any giant lizard..One can tell, with its head resembling a cobra, a mouth like an alligator snapping turtle with razor sharp teeth, its serpent-like body with a pair of giant wings and two legs. Yep this is definitely a Wyvern.


    I was frozen in fear, Irene, turn back! Don''t come here! It''s salivating all over my head, it hasn''t had a proper meal in a while now, hasn''t it? My body was shaking and sweating profusely. My legs¡­ please move!  Ah..I''m definitely gonna-


    Before I could finish what I was thinking, that thing opened its jaw wide open, ready to snapped my head off! FU-

    " wa-what?"


    I thought I was gonna die, but before the wyvern was about to bite me, I saw a huge blue ball of energy, almost fire-like hitting the massive creature, causing an explosion right in its face. The thing screamed in pain, everything was so loud, I could only hear ringing in my ears.


    I turned to look behind me, there, I saw Irene, in a stance. The area around her was glowing, if you were there, you''d think you''re about to witness a rebirth of a goddess. Her hand was bind together, creating some sort of sign, her mouth, chanting something, and you could feel that an immense amount of energy was gathering around her.


    The moment she saw me looking at her, she extends her hand towards me.


    " Come to me." I didn''t hear that, she didn''t say it, yet as soon as our eyes locked in to each other, I knew. All my worries were gone, and my body began to rush over to her. Behind me, I can hear the wyvern also gained its compusure and was ready to hunt, it began crawling out behind that tombstone, its viperus tail, flapping around, destroying other gravestones like it was some pebbles in its way.


    As soon as my hand and Irene''s made contact, it was glued together, and we both started to run for our life. No matter how chaotic the chase was, our hands didn''t separate from each other. Not only that, both of us were at the end of our breaths, but Irene was still chanting, blasting the serpent with huge waves of magic attacks. I was astonished, the whole woods was glowing into a blue sea.


    The magic from this world was born from the energy of this world, we called them mana. Mana is all around us, and each person can concentrate and absorb some amount of mana, depending on their mana core. The bigger their mana core has established, the more powerful magic they can use. Magic-users of this world are called Mages.


    ..How can she have so much mana? And she doesn''t even have a wand¡­


    Each mage has a staff, a wand or some kind of personal belongings, used as a conduit to help generate their spells and increase its potency.


    Incredible¡­ Right now she might be comparable to a 6th classed mage.. no maybe even more powerful than that¡­As expected of the main character.

    However, we''re not the only one that notices the manor in sight. The wyvern was slowing down.

    The bastard started to extend its feather-less wings. The surrounding was in disarrayed by the winds from the flaps of its wings and it ascended in to the air like a beast.


    "It flew past us?!"


    "Oh no.. It''s heading towards the manor..the people there will be in danger!"


    " Let''s hurry!"


    Even though I said that, I was starting to slow down.. Damn it! Not now! You can''t stop right now!


    Irene started to notice.


    "My Lady! Can You Keep up-"

    ..She nodded. Nevertheless, she started chanting something new, then air started to filled up my lungs, and my fatigue felt like it has decreased.. I can run faster now!


    " Don''t overdo it, my lady. It''s just a temporary spell.." Irene was showing concerned on her face.

    When we arrived at the manor, it was a disaster. The maids were running around screaming, some part of the walls and the buildings have collapsed. The wyvern standing over a fallen wall, was seen battling with Galium and  the knights from our house.


    "Irene! Gather the people inside and head down in to the basement, make sure that no one is left outside!


    "Yes! My lady!"


    She went to gather others that were still outside, and I went to look around the fallen pebbles, making sure that no one was buried under.


    The garden that was in front of my room was in ruined, the fountain were destroyed from a rock that flew in from the battle. No.. not my favorite garden..Then I heard a voice.


    " He-Help¡­"

    There''s someone buried under! The sound.. it came from that collapsed patios. I started to dig, using all my strength to lift the stone up and away from the injured person.


    It was a young maid, she looks to have not suffered any life-threatening injury.


    "! Are you okay?! Can you still walk? Let''s get you inside."


    I lift her up and put her arm over my shoulder. Then I slowly carried her inside. But before we could make it in, the wyvern flew out of nowhere and quickly descends towards us.


    Oh no.. we won''t make it, I have to do something¡­ out of instinct, I pushed the girl to the side as far as I can, so she wouldn''t get caught up and before I knew, the thing landed right on me.


    *Baam!*


    The ground was shaken. The area was fogged up by dust.


    The wyvern, upon a closer looks, also seemed to have received some injuries. There were spears sticking on its back, and its wings were pierced with holes... Oh So you were retreating huh?


    "My lady!!!¡­Get off her!!!" Irene yelled.


    Irene? She looked pissed¡­ who got you making such an expression? Is it because of this guy? Let me teach him a lesson.. oh wait sh*t he''s crushing me¡­


    This beast got its foot stomped over my whole body, I think all my organs has been crushed¡­ blood is gushing out of my mouth.. it-it''s really heavy.. ha-hard to breath¡­


    Irene began to chant again, but this time with her wand. The spell was casted faster and the damage dealt was great enough that the wyvern removed its foot from my body and started to move towards her.


    She led it away from me, and it began to run towards her, but before it could get any closer, Galium rushed in and stab its tail with his spear. The beast screeched in pain once more, it knew that it was in a life and death situation. With all its might, it spins its whole body around, the spear stuck in its tail trying to hit Galium, but he swiftly dodges away.


    "Irene!" Galium shouted.


    "Mmh!" she nodded.


    While Galium was distracting the wyvern, she started to chant. Mana started to gather from the whole area in to her wand.


    The wyvern noticed it, and start heading towards her.


    "Where Do You Think You''re going, YOU BASTARDS?!" Galium chant an incantation, enhancing his physical attributes. He instantly jumped on the wyvern and grabbed the spear sticking on its back, stabbing it further in to its body.


    *Screechhh*


    It was in agony. The battle seems to be almost over¡­ oh now that I think about it. A scene where the female lead and the male lead fighting a wyvern was going to happen.. Look at them battling the beast now, ¡­ they seem to be really in sync.. such a perfect duo¡­ ahh so tired.. it''s fine¡­ she''ll be fine.. let me rest..for..a bit¡­

    I was in a field of lavenders, the sun was setting, the crows are flying above my head..I can hear the waves of the ocean somewhere¡­it''s peaceful¡­I can rest here..


    Then I heard a delicate voice..


    "My lady¡­"mmm?


    "My lady!¡­ Miss Kannavis!" Irene shouted in to my ears.


    I regained my consciousness. My eyes were half opened, I began to look around. Irene was holding my motionless body in her arms, Galium was running around shouting something¡­and the wyvern¡­ its body was laying in front of me with a giant, glowing  greatsword, its quillion, carved in to a rose, was sticking in its head. The beast was slained¡­ woaah.. did.. Irene do this? Or was it Galium?.. Whoever it was..I''m- I''m glad¡­


    "Please hold on, my lady¡­ you''re gonna be fine.." Irene voice was trembling.


    Holly came rushing out with a potion in her hand. It was a glowing-amber liquid¡­maybe it''s that elixir?

    I opened the lid without a second thought. It was a blood pumping-heart,  it was huge, almost the size of a basket. It soaked in blood, and was still beating like it''s fresh from the being.


    It was a horror of a sight to see, but for some reason, I wasn''t  disgusted. No-On the contrary, I was starving. Before I knew, I began to chow down on that thing. It tasted extremely awful, so awful, but I continued to gulp in down like it was the most the delicious thing I have ever tasted in my life.


    "..huhaHaHaHaHa! YES! Devours it! Don''t even leave a single piece of MEAT on that plate!"


    The crow was thrilled, it started to laugh like a maniac at the sight of me, looking at me like I was an animal.


    Just like the crow said, I ate the whole thing, tendons and all.There was nothing left, I couldn''t believe it, my body was paralyzed in place. The crow flew to land on my shoulder and whispered something in my ears. I couldn''t hear anything. Everything was foggy around me.. w-what?
