《Dungeon Design》 Death and Beginning - Ch 1 ''Huh where is my phone?'' ''I was just reading, did I drop it without realising.'' ''Wait where is my hand, how did it get so dark that I cannot even see even my hand?'' I try to move my hand closer. ''Why can''t I feel my hand.. or anything why do I feel nothing?'' A flash of light appeared in the distance, a pang of pain, then murmurs. ''Was I blinded and stabbed?'' the murmurs fades into the distance, as my sight returns... but wrong. ''What is, where am I and why can I see everything at the same time?'' I stare off in... every direction, and see stone after stone. I am in a cave. ''ok let me process, nothing, flash of light, pain, then sight in every direction, I am in a cave and not to mention, I still cannot see my body. This feels familiar...'' I massage my head, with my also no-longer-existent hands, in an attempt to quell this curiosity, whilst realising, I am not panicking. ''Why do I not feel... scared or nervous? never mind that as it is probably for the better anyways, panicking in this situation just seems like a bad idea, no matter how I look at it. Still why does this feel so familiar?'' I continue massaging my head to think, which achieves nothing. I then begin to look around, maybe it is something in the environment that is causing this. ''Rock, rock, rock, rock, spider, rock, rock. wait, wait, wait, the spider!.... huh, I thought that doing all that mental acting would have triggered something, well I guess it would not be strange to see a spider or any type of bug in a cave. rock, rock, rock, shiny blue rock, hmm shiny.. blue... rock.'' I begin concentrating on the rock solely, looking at it from every angle. ''Well it is a blue glowing rock, I can now confirm that. This rock, why is is perfectly spherical, I have never seen a perfectly spherical rock, haha it reminds me of the description from those novels, where the characters become dungeon cores...'' ''Wait wait wait, am I... A DUNGEON CORE ok calm, calm, calm, What do you mean calm I have been dreaming, fantasising and hoping to be one ever since I have started reading! ok lets verify, in some of the stories the person has to do everything alone manually, in others there is a system that helps them.'' thoughts were racing through jacks mind, like the first time he asked a girl out, it didn''t work out, but that doesn''t matter to jack anymore. This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it. ''ok ok... lets try the easiest first.'' "System" ... "Menu" ... "Stats"

''Oh Yes Yes Yes. Screw you Boring, Shit previous world, unless I am still in the same world but some apocalypse, or something happened to allow dungeons to exist.'' ''ok ok lets get back to this screen, so race is dungeon core, just as I had hoped. Health is 100 which is good, mana is 10 and I have no name well not unusual in what I have read so lets get on that first. to begin with, I want a name that represents what my dungeon would be like, or the creatures I will have in it.'' ''So creatures I want all of them I don''t want to be going down one set type of creatures like undead for example, so lets go with unbound on that part, for dungeon building well not many words I can think of, I know I want to design whatever, but going unbound unbound is not what I want, and it is not really cool or good enough, so unlimited unbound or unbound unlimited, no. unbound, unbound, unbound... architect, yes unbound architect yes, that, just perfect.''
Name: has been changed to "Unbound Architect"
''ooh look like I have a responsive system as well. Ok what to do, first wat to do first, lets figure out creatures or minions, I don''t think I can create anything, right now at least, as there is no new information or anything, so lets try interacting with the bugs first... Right mana, how do I do that again. Stories always describe it in a way that mana is like the body of a dungeon core, while the core is the heart or brain, so lets just try... moving the mana like how a human would move their legs or arms I guess.'' ''So first, since I cannot feel my "arms", lets use intention or willpower to make it move.'' I begin with by using my intention like how when you are human u try to move things with your mind but this time as a dungeon core which... works ''Ok so I can feel something happening but how do I do anything with "limbs" that I cannot see or really feel, I can feel a change, but not the "limbs" themselves. Since I can see everything lets just try to... See mana I guess, that is how it usually works anyways so...'' I concentrate my sight on... no, no, no, I order my sight, to look at mana or see mana. ''Ok well it worked, but why is this so easy, I have done everything without difficulty or anything. Could it be because I am innately gifted, knowledgeable or that the system chooses people for their most suitable role, assuming the system caused this, and not a god or whatever else, For now I will put this in the think-about-another-time box.'' ''Lets get back to it, so now that I can see mana, it is like I am in a pond, the mana is not moving, remaining totally still or almost totally still, mana also has a blue glow, and when I look closer at the mana it looks like particles. ''Now that I can see mana lets get back to moving it.'' I do the same as last time, using my intention to move the mana. ''Oh so this is what happened, it is moving exactly how I intended it to, I sent mana out like a wave in all directions it is like I threw a pebble in a pond and it created a tiny ripple effect in all directions. So where was that spider...'' Spider Experimentation - Ch 2 ''Ah, there you are. So usually I would be creating creatures... BUT that is not the case in all stories, for example, it could be summoning, or what I am about to try do, modify or alter already existing creatures. It would be a pain, if I had to try creating something, without even knowing how.'' ''Hmm do I need to dominate the creature or not, well it does not really matter, as in most other cases, if you put mana into creatures they just go under your control... so.. lets just.. inject mana into the spider.'' With my mind made I begin dragging mana out of my core, toward the spider.
- 1 Mana
The spider, startled, skitters up the rock wall of my cave, getting halfway up, before the mana hits it. The spider, freezes in place and falls, sustaining no damage, when hitting the floor on it''s back. ''Ugh, spiders always made my skin crawl when, they would go up walls, I sure am glad I did not lose that... sigh.'' ''Back to reality, it was annoying to catch, I nearly missed it, but I caught it in the end. I got a bit worried when it fell though. Looking at the spider I want to say, it looks like I paralyzed it. I need to make sure.'' "Get up." ... "Move." "Go there." I mentaly point at a random spot, away from the spider. ''Guess it didn''t work, how I wanted it to, as something clearly happened to make the spider freeze up.'' ''Maybe I should have used dominate intent first, afterall, maybe it is undergoing evolution because, I essentially just gave it mana. So it fell becuase it stoped functioning to evolve, like a coma of sorts, sadly there is no quick way to verfy this.'' ''There are pleanty other spiders and bugs I can use as test subjects, So lets continue, this time lets use dominate intent, instead of no intent like I did previously.'' ...
- 1 Mana
''So this spider also tried to climb up and away, Maybe spiders feel safer going up walls or something? Anyways this time I used dominate intent, and the spider, well.. fell, like last time, BUT the spider got back up on its own, so it is not paralyzed this time.'' "Get u.." ''It is already up, What are you talking about.'' "Spin." The spider spins round in a circle. If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it''s taken without permission from the author. Report it. ''It worked... I did not think that would work, I thought I would have to go and rewrite it''s brain or put a mark on its soul or something.. Lets not get too exited yet. Sure being able to control spiders, and probobally any other bug, maybe animals aswell, is awesome, but it would still be even better, if I can modify creatures, just imagine, a spider with its chitin as tough as a tank, webs stronger than any rope, just imagining it is giving me goosebumps... metaphorically. I am definetly not distracting myself becuase otherwise, I mentaly look like a crazy man, in a cave, shouting huzaa and yess, while dancing. Definetly not.'' ''Ok stop with the self roasting, and get back on point. Next test: enhancement, no, lets go with, evolution. We know I cannot just put mana in without guiding it, or in other words using intention, as the spider I did that to, is still on its back, paralyzed... I.. Should put it out of its misery, if it is in mysery and not evolving like I thought earlier.'' "Kill that spider." again, my great mental point finger. The spider turned, walked up to the spider, and proceeded to bite it repeatedly all over, I imagine it bled out instead of actually dying to the bites. Did you know spiders bleed out very slowly, compared to humans. I didn''t even know, the could bleed out.''

''So I need 9.5 more to level up. Considering I get 0.5 per spider that would only take... 19 more! not too bad if I may say... Right back on topic. Evolution how do I do well lets just use intent to hake the spider''s.... eyes change colour.. to red! seems safe, except, the spider might go blind, but that is a risk I am willing to take.'' I pull mana from my core, mixing my intent into it, I send it toward the spider minion (yes that is what I will call it, I know it is basic, but who cares, I am the only one here hehehe)
- 1 Mana
Mana shoots into the spider, it''s eyes begin to shine, changing from black to ruby red. ''Now to test if it can see...'' "Turn towards me." The spider turns to face me. ''YES, Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, it worked so it can still see, Yes. Ok, ok, it seems a bit insufficient, if I only have one spider under my control, when I want to make a dungeon so... Lets convert the all!! HAhAhAhaHAHA...'' I then proceed to convert 7 more spiders
Warning Insufficient mana !!
''What, I was sooo close I only need 27 more!... Fine I guess I will wait, actually, I do need to level up, it would give me more mana to work with, I hope.'' "Everyone! group up in pairs, kill the rest of the spiders in this cave, not under my control." ''Well I will use this to see how they handle complex orders. I added that last bit because I had a weird foresight, where my spiders started attacking each other. I added the part about pairs as these spiders are a solitary species it seems, I do not see any of them together, except for the ones under my control of course.'' ''Looks like they all got in pairs, and have started skittering in every direction, toward a different spider each. Hehehehe, HAHAHAHAHAHA, GO, GO, GO, MY SPIDER ARMY, HAHAHAHA.'' Spider Extermination and Expansion - Ch 3 ''HA Ha... ha. This is taking longer than I expected, I thought they would be quick in killing the spiders, they are not. They barely work together, their attack''s just seem to be bite, hell, they even bump into each other when attacking, but it is working as, so far they have killed 18 spiders. Wonder how close I am to levelling up, I believe I should be 1 spider away, buuut, lets make sure.''

My 2 spiders are fighting 1 spider, on the wall, near the entrance. Red eyes goes in for a bite, and takes a chunk out of the abdomen not a big chunk but enough to cause damage, at the same time, spider 2 snakes in a bite to the head, the spider retaliates by biting into red''s leg, then attempting to run, then spider 2 puts another bite into the same head, the spider falls limp to the ground, then closes it''s leg''s on itself.

''Now I have... 15, 15 Spiders under yours truly, (me). so I have 12 mana left, now, I can either, start evolving almost everyone, or learn healing, though nobody is seriously injured from what I can tell though... nah, I will go with evolution, but this time I will go with a more overall improvement, toughness, sharpness, as well as, making them larger. Oh, wait no, I can just evolve one to have all those attributes, and make it reproduce, I always thought that was one of the great ideas that, writers often came up with.'' ''Red eyes is already special, and I have bigger plans for him soo... YOU!'' I point at a random spider. Alright the usual routine just different intent. sharper, tougher, bigger. I pull mana from my core and into the spider.
-3 Mana
The spider, immediately begins changing, growing to the size of a toddler, armour thickening and becoming jagged, like mountains, it''s mouth and legs sharpen to the point of looking like spears. It stands, towering over it''s kin, with a dark gleam across it''s fangs in the blue light. ''.... Perfect.'' ''Focus, I know it is cool, but remember why you made it. now for the last step.'' Intention: Self reproduction, and quick reproduction.
-2 Mana
The spider begins to shift, it''s abdomen, growing larger and larger, growing to the size of a balloon, then stopping. ''That looked to have worked. Now I need it to reproduce, and since these guys don''t do anything without me telling them...'' "Move to the back of the cave, and begin reproducing." ''I am really going to have to learn to expand, and make rooms, sooner rather than later though... Lets see if the spider will work first.'' The spider moves to the back of the cave, lays 3 large eggs, then builds a cocoon out of webs around them, presumably to protect them, I then look toward the little spiders. "Cover the entrance in webs" I may as well do something, with little these guys for now. Looking at the cocoon I notice that the cocoon is beginning to expand then it bursts open. Out walk 3 spiders, much like the mother, but half the size, along with a smaller abdomen, they then stand around for a few seconds, before growing rapidly to the size of their mother, still with a smaller abdomen than their mother, which is a good thing, as I didn''t want them to become egg layers. ''Now to see if they are loyal.'' "Help the little spiders." The spiders proceed to the little spiders, and begin helping them cover the entrance. ''Good, good, good hehehe... I should really get help. now that I know that spiders born here become loyal automatically. I have to figure out how to expand and build. As you may have guessed, I am going to follow the same steps that other have in the novels. ''lets go wiiiiiiiith.... The simplest! just send mana to the edge of my domain!'' I pull mana, mix it with the expand intent, then throw it hehehe.
-1 Mana
The mana flies forward to the back of my cave, barely missing the spider, then crashing and being absorbed into the edge of my vision which then expands in that direction by 1 meter or around there... IT IS HARD TO TELL WHEN YOU CAN SEE FROM BOTH FAR AND CLOSE AT THE SAME TIME OK?!!!, ahem but about a meter. ''Well seeing as that worked, I may as well continue until I run out of mana, Oh it looks like the egg layer has laid 3 more eggs in the cocoon and sealed it up again.''
"Why, oh Why, did I decide it would be a good idea, to take up a quest to investigate the base of this, dammed mountain, IN the middle of summer, especially wearing this heavy ass chainmail, n leather... At least the trees give me some shade to work with, sigh. so the hunters said all the animals ran away and are avoiding this area..." Expansion, A visitor - Ch 4 ''Alright, after HOURS, I should finally have enough claimed area, to begin digging my floor, but how do I do that because some (novels) use intent like I have been, others do stuff like converting the mana, or using their minions. I may as well just do it the same way I have always done it I guess.'' I begin to pull mana and mix my intent, like usual, before I could even finish, the stone begins to move, before I could even get the mana properly, which shoots right back into my core. ''What? did I miss something, I didn''t even shoot my mana at the wall, so why is there a cube shaped chink missing from the middle of the wall?'' ''Wait, there was another type among novels, one where you can just, control the earth at will within your domain, could this be it, well if it is lets do some redecoration, something big. Lets make this cave square, instead of leaving it circular, I want square. The room, which I expected to tremble or crack, shifted about as if liquid, until becoming square, with me set upon a pedestal, which I sprouted from the floor beneath me, leaving me in a bowl on top of said pedestal. ''Yey, (smiley face), ok ok, enough, get help. Now that the room is square, what would happen if I do a whole floor at once, after all I did spend most of my mental power on floor designs and monster designs, when I was still human, giving me a library of blueprints, in my mind. I may as well test the limits on how quick, I can do this stuff. Now which blueprint should I use?'' I spend some time browsing, as I have perfect memory (I only discovered this just now), lets go with this one. ''OW OW OW OW, Ok ok, stop. So I cannot just create an entire floor, how about a room then?'' I envision a corridor at the back wall, leading to a slightly lengthier room, creating a rectangular shape. The Earth begins to shift to my will, creating the corridor first, which leads to the soon to be room, at first nothing appears to happen, in actuality the space is being created, via, the earth going down, similar to how water goes down a drain, The room soon reveals itself to the corridor entirely. ''Wow ok got some nausea there but at least the first, technically second, room is created. Lets... wait till this nausea fades before making another room, for now lets just move my core to the new room, after all the farther I am from the entrance, the better, speaking of, it seems they finished covering the entrance in webs.'' This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. There is a reason why I did not cover the entrance in rock as soon as I discovered I could could, fear, I have READ the novels I know the potential risk, it is also not a risk I am willing to take, I don''t want to essentially suffocate dungeon core style, and webs are like silk where will always be multiple holes in it even if they are not visible to human eyes I can see them, thousands of them. ''Wait, I need to deal with this.'' "Stop" I stop the egg layer. ''I cannot have too may spiders after all and I think 20 is a bit much, I don''t want to be considered a threat by adventurers after all, if they exist, plus I don''t want it to be crowded down here. Alright, I am good to continue room making.'' A corridor appears at the opposite side of the room, going straight, opening into a room the same size as the entrance room. ''Ok, this is going to take a while, if I always get nauseous after making a single room.'' ... ''God I feel like hell, like I am on the very edge of throwing up, but it never comes, so I am always just at the edge. Anyways I managed to get all the rooms created, along with 2 doors, going in and out of the boss room, the doors were quite easy if you understand the basic principles of them, which I did, except for the handles, which I have just decided to go with the one, where you can seal it by putting wood across it (or stone in this case).'' ''Along with all the rooms I have made, there is also made a secret room for the egg layer, and any excess spiders, speaking of I have evolved all the little spiders to the big ones, Except red eyes, I had always planned for him to be the boss, as he was the first of my minions, so he has a slightly tougher shell, is about double the height of the now normal spiders, and slightly more agile, I will hold off on making him any sharper than the rest, as that would be too much for a boss of the first floor, there is also an elite monster bit I only made it slightly bigger (Not as big as the boss but halfway to it) and sharper, I want to see how and adventurers will adapt (Again IF the exist).'' ''Ok ok, I will stop holding off on the most interesting information, the layout. Starting from the second room, you know there is a room straight ahead, but there is now also one to the right with th-''
"God what kind of spider den is this, why would you cover your only exit so fucking much, seriously why did it have to be spiders of all things, they always web up whatever they catch to either eat slowly or... Egg. It is always gruesome even the goblins have more decency than them. Jesus just.... CUT... THE... W..ebs, phew. I hate spiders, but at least their parts fetch a good price, along with being easy to deal with, well.. the dungeon made ones are the opposite." First Delve - Ch 5 "Man how many layers do these spider have to pu- Ah, finally" he wipes the sword of the web that clung to it, while stepping through the man sized cut. "it''s dark... great, Well I only need to confirm a spider beast den, for my investigation to be complete, and while I am at it I can kill some spiders to sell their parts." he say''s greedily With a flip of his bag he pulls a fist-sized stone, which proceeds to then float around him, emitting a soft glow. "there now we can se- Ach." the first thing I saw was a spider mid-air, about to land on me. I grip my sword harder whilst raising it, its end pointed toward the spider. It gets impaled, in the abdomen and remains stuck to the sword, continuing to struggle in an attempt to get closer and closer, until it finally passes.

"Holy Fuck, I died of a heart attack you bastard... phew, anyways, Why would it do that, spiders are more of assassins types or swarmer''s, not reckless types, speaking of why is the cave.. square? was this an abandoned hideout?" he turns back to the spider. "Hm... This spider.." clang the sword rang out, creating an echo, and a crack, against the spiders back. "So it wasn''t reckless, it just had a damn hard shell, if I had aimed any higher I would have hit it''s shell, and I don''t remember spider shells being soo tough... maybe it''s a new species or... Ok I have done my job I investigated thoroughly enough. I will bring this back as evidence, get paid, then sell the corpse, after all, they only need to see the corpse for it to be enough proof... Haa, I was hoping for a bit more than pure luck on my fist delver, how lucky do you have to be, to get your sword through a slit in the shell, that you can only to if you are below the spider, I mean sure their armour is weak, but it can stop a few hits by the looks of it. It could''ve been an interesting fight to watch.'' The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation. "Out you go now, go replace your fallen kin." Godamn, though again there is no way to verify without one of my spiders dying.. And I don''t exactly want to kill them, they are my creations after all, so they should die doing what they were made for, attacking delvers.'' ''Well whatever I still have things to do, like expanding my domain downward, so I can start making the second floor, which, I have noticed is taking significantly longer to do, as I want to make it bigger than the first floor, I also want to make as many floors as I am levelled, so I will stop at the second floor, as I am level 2, make a third floor when I become level 3, a fourth at level 4, so on and so fourth. Alright, well, better make a move on.''
"This spider is not as heavy as it looks, at this rate, I will be back in 3 days, when the sun is nearing rest, though, I should start to get ready for the night..." He begins looking in the distance along the path looking for a familiar spot he stayed when making the journey here, his eyes land upon a clearing, the remains of the campfire still there. He speeds up his pace to have enough time to set everything up, he drops the corpse near the campfire, then pulls out 4 stones from his bag. "Though these guys are not repellents or anything, they work pretty great as alarms in this area, as I doubt there would be any uncommon rank animals here, with all the hunting the young nobles do for sport." Holding the rock still he walks to each corner of his campfire and digs them into the ground, creating a square shape from each corner. ... The man emerges from the tent before the sun has fully risen, takes down the tent, and digs out the rocks, putting them back in the bag. "Though they say not to do this, but what choice do I have, just these low rank runes cost an arm and a leg to get. I cannot afford to buy new ones, better to risk them exploding as even paying for treatment would be cheaper. Sigh, I should have paid for detection skills instead, it is too late now." I say, while picking up the spider and continuing the long journey. The sun has now risen to it''s peak. The man looks around frantically while running, an arrow flies by, striking a tree just ahead. "Fuck, I knew things were going too smoothly, Fucking bandits, just you wait until I hide this little guy, I will not have it''s value fall." he mutters, sneaking a peek at the corpse, then continuing to look ahead from bush, to tree, to bush, for a place to quickly hide the body. "There" he sees a slight indent in the tree ahead, after he can turn around and deal with the flies following him, without worry. quickly dropping the corpse into the dent he turns around, just in time to catch the arrow headed for his had, and breaks it, while pulling out his sword. He quickly scans the area for the bandits, he sees them hidden behind some bushes ahead loading more arrows.

Bandits and treasure - Ch 6 Charging forward with the speed of a cheetah, closing the gap between them, he swings his sword towards the neck of the bandit closest to him, going for a killing blow. "AH." the bandit jumps back but not before getting a new deep scar across his chest, while his friends pull out a a knife and pitchfork. The pitchfork bandit goes for a simple forward thrust using his range to the advantage, meanwhile the knife wielder follows along the pitchfork, attacking at the same time in an attempt to overwhelm the adventurer. The adventurer doges the thrust while turning his sword to the knife bandit, cutting the arm that holds the knife clean off, blood splatters across his sword, arm and grass, as a mix of confusion, fear, and pain spreads across the now, one-handed bandit, while his arm lands on the now bloodied grass with a heavy thump and squish, which caused everyone to shiver, the bandit that was slashed across the chest immediately gets up and sprints away, the other hesitates, unsure of what to do as his friend is on the ground screaming while holding the wound with his only arm left, he ultimately decides it is not worth it and runs off, leaving the one armed bandit left. "W-Wait I- I AM SORRY WE- I did not- I Was forced, yes. I did not want to do this, I just- I was forced, p-please let me li-live." he said as the adventurer began walking closer, his blade raised, emanating a dark gleam. "No NO NO NO I Am soRRY PELAse I DID NOT WANT TO, I- PLEASE I WA-" His voice, cut, by the blade which has found it''s rest, through his neck, and pulled out. The man stared up at the adventurer, despair and betrayal filled his face, his neck sputtering blood like a fountain, before growing smaller and smaller, the bandit was dead, stuck looking up at the same spot, the spot the adventurer no longer stands. The adventurer takes anything of value and continues his journey...
''Hmm, now that I think of it why did I not put anything in the chest at the end of the first floor, but if I think about it I know that I can create items with mana well metal items as I have some metal in my domain so I could just grow it and then alter it''s shape to something, but if I do that I would have to constantly lose mana when someone completes this floor and any future floor with a chest in it... And I do need a way to get rid of the excess corpses because that spider I killed, oh so long ago is still there, so lets just do the same thing I did with the spiders and create an automated system, to turn bodies into mana and turn that mana into an item at the end? well there is no reason not to try, so here goes nothing.'' ''I am not going to give any weapons for the first or so floors, or at least I will not give weapons and armour by the end chests, maybe through secret chests I will, but I will not put any on the first floor, and I have no idea what the person will get until there is enough mana gathered to form the item.'' "Right, stop getting distracted."
"Ah, finally I see it, Hern''s village." The adventurer looks ahead to see some basic palisade walls and a rudimentary gate, most villages do not have such luxuries but with the amount of trees and how this would be considered an upper-class, still poor good compared to towns and castles, but very high up for a village, people say, this might become a castle soon, but those rumours are unconfirmed. The adventurer steps through the gates after a short flash of his necklace which proves him to be a mid copper class. "Well look who it is. The idiot who took the quest is finally back." says the woman standing by the entrance to the guild. "Ah, Shut it will you. I told you I was feeling lucky about it." "You also said that about the runes..." She says staring intently at him. "So did your feeling pay off." "Maybe..." "Huh what does tha-" "Welcome, Welcome, Come inside, Come inside, we need to talk about the quest and... That." the man interrupting says, pointing at the spider body on his shoulder. ... "So Jack tell me the results of your little adventure." says the man, now sitting on the opposite side of a table. "Well, First of all I though there was nothi-" "Then what bout the spider." "Shh, I am getting to it, sigh, Anyways nothing at first, then I find a cave, the entrance covered and I mean Covered in webs, I had to wipe my sword multiple times, before I finally cut through the damn thing, I step inside, it is pitch black, like I could not see anything, so I get my light rune, and as soon as it lights up I see this little guy flying towards me." "..." "Is... that it?" "Yes, it was a spider den that scared off all the animals." "Did you clear it out?" "No I did not think it was worth it, not a part of my job to clear it, just to investigate." "Sigh, Alright, I''ll set a quest to clear it. You can collect your reward by the quest completion guys downstairs." Just like that, the quest was complete. A new quest appeared the next day. [Eliminate Spider Den] [Requirements: Mid-Copper and Up] [Reward: 200 Coppers] The Second Floor - Ch 7 ''Ok almooooooost.. Done. I think that is enough domain for a second floor> I want this one be bigger than the last first with more stuff in it, so... Yea this one lets go with this floor.'' ''So 13 rooms. Lets do them one by one.'' ''Heading downstairs you will enter a brightly lit square (every room is square in shape unless I say otherwise) tiled room, I decided to make the floor tiled.'' ''There is only 1 exit, straight ahead, leading to a bigger room, from there you have 2 options, straight or right. Going straight will lead you to another room, with 1 exit to the right leading to a room with no new path, a dead end.'' ''Going right will lead to another room, a room with 3 paths, left, straight, or right. Going left will lead to another room with 1 path which also leads to another room this room has 2 paths, left and straight.'' ''Going left will lead you to an empty room with 2 paths, left, and right. going right will lead back the room with 3 paths. If you chose instead, to go left you would have ended up in a dead end room, and for the room room before that, if you had chosen straight, you would also have been led to a dead end room. I made it sort of maze like in the layout in this area.'' ''Back to the 3 paths room if you chose right, you will walk up to a door, the door to the boss room. But wait, the room will be locked, it was a pain to figure out door locks. The keys yes there is not 1 lock but 3, they will be located on 3 different monsters, When you defeat them and get the keys, unlock the door, you will enter a massive room, with clumps of cobwebs scattered about as well as collapsed pillars, I just made some pillars then made them unstable causing them to collapse.'' ''About the spider webs, I found out I could create stuff with mana, but only things I have seen before, I can also create monsters but they always end up as exact replicas of the monster I am thinking of and I cannot alter them mid process or anything, so there is no benefit to creating monsters with mana that I can see yet. it is different with materials as for whatever reason I can alter them as they are being created, I don''t know why.'' ''Anyways now for what you are really interested in the monsters. first of all all the normal monsters on this floor are just like the elite from the previous floor, the elite monsters on this floor are the same as the boss monster from the first floor.'' ''Lastly the boss, I did some experimenting with this one. Firs of all I used the boss from the first floor as a base, from there I made is much more sturdy while also giving it a sort of leathery armour between the gaps in their armour.'' If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. ''For offence, I made it sharper, obviously, And for the biggest thing. I modified it in a way where it can produce poison as well as spit it, I have not tested the potency as well turns out the same species of spider are immune to it. I know, I could just evolve another bug to test it, but that would be a waste of mana, and it could also turn out that all of my minions are just immune to the poison of monsters under my control, so...'' ''For the chest items I am still using the spider body parts but I increased the mana limit so there will be more mana in the parts provided, along with 2 coins I created, using the copper I found while expanding, I did not want to go for Iron right away, as I do not know the value of it. the coins themselves are just circles with and x on one side, along with a smiling clown face on the other. I did not know what else to add, but a clown face is sure to have some entertaining reactions." ''Anyways I assigned all the spiders to their rooms and off skittering they went, I also made sure to open the boss door so my spider could get in. Oh, and the 3 keys for the door, I put them in 3, 2nd floor elite spiders, so when they die the keys will remain. The 3, 2nd floor elites, will all be located in the dead end rooms, 1 of them will remain alone, the other 2 will be together in the same room.'' ''Hmm.. yea that''s about it. I will stop using only spiders after the 5th floor. I want people to get used to them and then like taking candy from a baby I will change the type of monsters they fight, or keep spiders, but add other types of monsters to mix among them, who knows I might scrap this idea entirely, after all, I have a lot of time to think on it.''
"Hey guys, I found something!" said an adventurer. "Yea what?" said another, while approaching to see. "Oh spider beast den extermination. lets see.. We fit the requirements, the reward is alright for just spiders... Ok lets bring this to the others." A little while later a group of 5 mid copper adventurers sit around a circular table, ignoring all the chatter and commotion common in bars, staring at a piece of paper set down on the centre of the table, for everyone to see. "So what do you think Luke?" "Well it is not a bad quest for us, the only problem that I can see is the distance. what do you thing Henry?" said Luke "Don''t care. As long as the quest is not above us I am fine with anything." said henry "Ugh, you always say that, and when we take the quest you complain about everything. IT''S ANNOYING." she said staring intently at Henry. "Ack, hey I never said I would not have any problems with it, I just don''t care what quest we take." henry said. "That is the same thing as caring." "Alright stop you 2. Henry stop being an idiot and lisa you know how he is, some people are just born with a little less... thoughts." he said snickering "Alright Alright, sigh, stop rousing them up Tyler." "Yea yea. I don''t need another one of your team cooperation lessons Zack." "You better remember the lessons, they could save your life one day. Ahem, back to the quest." Zack said and everyone began to lean in. "We should take it, I mean spiders are one of the easiest beasts to deal with, easier than goblins. I know it''s a bit far but, I am sure we have all we need to go there and back, not to mention the forest there is safe say for some small number of bandits and a bear or 2. Main point is lets take the quest." Everyone nods to Zack''s words. After the discussion Zack heads towards the adventurers guild, to officially take the quest. Extermination? - Ch 8 "Alright it is just up ahead" - Zack. "Are we finally there, I swear if you are lying I will.." - Henry "We know, we know, you will turn around and leave, I get it, I get it. this is the 50th time you have said that Henry." - Lisa, in a defeated tone. The party continues on until they reach an entrance, covered in webs, with a cut the size of a person in the centre of the webs. "I assume this is it, with all the webs, this pretty much screams spiders. Alright everyone gather for the planning." - Zack, to the rest of the party. "Alright Lets go with the usual, when we get in, Henry since you are a warrior, you will be at the front, Tyler as the thief, assist from behind, Luke, as the archer, and Lisa, as a mage, deal with any that get past the two of them, or any ranged ones, and since I am an alchemist, I will assist with buff, resist and health potions, just remembe-" - Zack "yea yea potions don''t work the same as healing skills or spells, health potions will only recover your blood and so on and so on, we know." - Henry, stopping Zack from ranting on and on. "Good, You better, because I cannot help if you get a chunk ripped out of you." - Zack "Yea yea, so are we going to do this or..." Henry Everyone looks at Zack "As long as there are no issues.. we can go." - Zack With that, the carefree tone suddenly vanishes as everyone begins stepping through, Henry going first. As soon as henry is fully, he pulls a few sticks out, and a rune out. He hits the sticks off the rune, as soon as the sticks begin to light he drops then to the ground as he sees a spider about to land on his face and pulls out his sword, not fast enough. The spider lands on him and begins biting at random across the face, it would have taken his nose off, if not for sudden arrow from Luke that hits the spider in the side, knocking it off of him. the spider hits the floor with low thud but appears to be uninjured until a downward swing from henry beheads it, ending the fight there.

Henry and Luke look around for anymore spiders in the now visible cave, which they find is oddly square, throwing them off. Reading on Amazon or a pirate site? This novel is from Royal Road. Support the author by reading it there. They reign in their curiosity, and continue to remain on alert, guarding their party members as they get in and in position. When everyone gets in. "Carful, the spiders are tough, my arrow bounced off of it." - Luke, waring everyone now that they have all gotten past the webs. "Alright Everyone take heed. Lets continue." - Zack as he picks up he sticks, looking for the way deeper. Everyone looks ahead to see a tunnel going deeper and proceed with Zack now holding the only light source. As they all enter the room they notice the spiders standing on the opposite side of the also oddly square room, the spiders also notice them, and start scurrying toward them. Lisa forms a small ball of energy above her and fires it at one of the spiders, piercing it''s head, killing it. Luke launches arrow after arrow at the second spider, all of which either miss or simply bounce, leaving cracks across the spider. The spider ignores it''s fallen kin, and continues to the closest enemy (Henry) and jumps. Tyler quickly runs up and stabs the spider in the side, the spider''s shell breaks as the dagger hits it and goes through, the spider then dies, remaining stuck to the dagger, until the thief (Tyler) turns it downward, allowing the spider to slide right off, leaving a stain of blood as it does so.

The party on alert scans their surroundings, no new enemies. before them are 2 paths, 1 straight ahead, another to the right. "This is weird, why are there no spiders coming here after all that noise?" - Lisa asked. "Maybe they cannot hear?" - Henry. "What does it matter, all we need to do is clear them out, just chuck it up to spiders being spiders." - Luke. "Which way, straight or right?" - Henry "Straight." - Zack Everyone focuses on the path ahead. Walking into the room they notice 2 things, there is 1 big spider and that this room is a dead end. The spider notices them and charges, creating little scratches in the ground while doing so. Lisa and Luke begin launching ranged attacks, all of them miss as they are too close for proper aiming. Henry raises his shield as the spider jumps and bashes into it, creating scratch marks across said shield, Henry then moves his shield to go for a swipe, but all it does is crack the spider and send it flying to the left. the spider lands on its feet and continues it''s charge, Luke sneaks next to the spider going for it''s neck, the spider notices the sudden dagger and dodges, switching targets to Luke. Luke begins retreating but the spider is faster and goes for a bite at his leg but gets stopped by the sudden arrow which for once goes through, the spider still lives, Henry pulls his signature attack and cleaves it''s head, off killing it instantly.

"You alright Luke?" - Zack and Lisa ask at the same time, it would be funny, if not for their concern. "Yea just a scratch no real damage." - Luke Luke was then checked on by Zack. He noted that Luke was left with a very shallow cut, as the spider was stopped before it could bite down properly. "Ok he is fine. Be more carful next time, this could have turned out very badly, after all bandages can only do so much." "I know, I just got surprised at how quick it began to target me." They continued talking for a bit longer before turning back and going down the other path. quick update & remake! :) hello everyone that is still looking for updates I am sorry, my laptop had some weird problem that needed to be fixed and the repair guys failed to fix it or did they. You see what i think happened is when they were putting everything back togeather they did not check if it started to work so they called me and said something is wrong with the motherboard. I had someone go pick it up for me and only got around to get my laptop from said person as i did not want to waste my time to go get a broken laptop so that is why there have been no updates to this story. I have been gone for too long that I am just going to remake this story as my flow for everything has been completely messed upYou might be reading a stolen copy. Visit Royal Road for the authentic version. the remake will start its first chapter soon along with a couple different things in the story aka there might be different mobs, design choices or actions as I don''t want to make it a copy and paste with a few extra or different words and I want to make it interesting for you guys :) Anyways I am in a joy rush because I have a laptop, I will no longer be bored for days anymore, anyways expect the remake to come out soon and I will also post another anouncement here to well anounce when the first couple chapters come out I will also name it something different as I don''t want to name it "Dungeon Design (Remake)" (ps. I am not guaranteeing everything will be different but a lot of thing will be.)
