《How to Become an Angel - Disaster Guide》
— 0 — Fearless Horror (1)
¡ªAre we doing it, L?
A blank stare followed, from the blonde woman on her side, which quickly turned into an annoyed glance, picking her collar.
¡ªDo you need to ask at this point? Don¡¯t make me repeat again, M.
M smirked, apparently thriving on the thought her boss was this short-tempered.
¡ªAlright, alright... I¡¯ll shoot as many of those pieces of garbage as you order me to.
L still kept staring scarily at her companion. (Such a pain in the ass.)
¡ªIs 2 minutes for 300 meters good enough? I¡¯m unsure to be able to get you more than that.
¡ªI¡¯ll do my best.
¡ªRemind me to kill you later as well.
A deep sigh followed suit. No more talking, with a single sign, M moved backwards, and took the closest stairs, as if trying to reach a higher place to position. L, meanwhile...
¡ªDoe.
¡ªJane.
That was good. It meant K had reached the desired position already. All left was finishing this job. This was all for her, after all...
Further ahead, some moments before...
¡ªHey, Morty, look at that...
¡ªWhat the...
Someone seemed lost at the industrial complex. It was a girl. How did she even reached this far off without alerting their colleagues?
¡ªThis is a dead end, babe. Turn back.
¡ªUhm... Wait, Rudy went in there and he still hasn¡¯t come back!
¡ªRudy? Is your boyfriend here?
Both men took a look at their surroundings. Still deserted. There was no ¡®Rudy¡¯ in the band either.
¡ªNo, it¡¯s my dog... A doberman.
¡ªWhat the...?
Usually they would just kick the girl off here. But a dog would be annoying without their owner. Also, a big one as that as well.
¡ªOk, leave it to us, we will find it, wait here.
¡ªReally!?
¡ªHey, Morty...!
¡ªCalm down, dumbass. Have you seen this chick¡¯s body? She is at least an 8/10... Might even get a free one off if we find that stupid dog...
If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement.
Unconvinced, the other man took a look back at the girl. She was smiling; he blushed. The crooks were unable to find women like these. Most of them were cheap prostitutes that reeked alcohol and tobacco. This was... An exception. A risk good enough to take.
¡ªAlright bastard, you start searching, I stay here. If the dog comes back on its own, you owe me an all-nighter in that restaurant. If you find it, you¡¯ll get the girl, deal?
¡ªWay to go, bro!
¡ªWhat are you two mumbling about over there...?
¡ªAh, sorry, Miss! I, Morty, shall command the search, meanwhile my mate here will keep you company!
¡ªOh, that¡¯s good... It¡¯d be scary staying here alone, without Rudy...
(Cute...)
A quick farewell followed. Before the other man could turn back, what felt like a needle penetrated his skin, forging its way inside his tough neck as if it was plasticine.
¡ªDamn, this thing is effective, L¡¯s the best, I love her!
The man still shocked, gave a confused look at the woman dressed in white... And tried a punch.
¡ªCome on dude, are you not even trained in proper martial arts? Laaame.
She did not evade it, but rather, moved her body inside, sticking her hips up to his, and then used the centrifugal force of the man¡¯s own movement to bring him down; one hand to the sleeve, the other to the collar, and finally driving him down by using her back. A perfect jiu-jitsu lock.
¡ªOh yeah, you probably noticed by now but... It¡¯s not possible to talk after being pierced by that needle. I would try to explain it, however, my forte is bringing in muscle, not biology.
The usual smile the girl wore did not fade away. Yet this time the crook found it rather terrifying than adorable.
¡ªWell then... Will you tell me where the gang¡¯s hideout is located? I would prefer to deal with good boys, but... I don¡¯t mind using more needles if there¡¯s not enough cooperation.
— 0 — Fearless Horror (2)
It did not take long. A pair of pierced fingers for which that poor man could not even scream for help. Morty was nowhere to be seen either. He folded after realizing his destiny, and marked the location on K¡¯s map.
¡ªDoe.
(Oh, L is ready! I wonder if she will treat me to Oktoberfest again this year...)
¡ªJane.
¡ªI¡¯ll start making noise now. Finish up your informant.
¡ªOki-doki.
Desperate tears started flowing through his bearded cheeks. (I wish... I had seen Helen one more time...)
¡ªYo.
¡ªBack again, sweetie? You sure love it here.
¡ªShut up, I had a bad day, and I¡¯m paying for you... Don¡¯t make me change my mind.
¡ªMy bad, you are so charming when you get mad for a little tease.
¡ªI swear I...! I... I missed you, Helen.
¡ªYou missed a sex worker? How the mighty have fallen...~
¡ªEx-sex worker.
¡ªHuh?
A small box was offered to the woman.
¡ªThis is...
¡ªIt¡¯s empty now... But I¡¯m leaving the band. When I find a proper job and I¡¯m able to get you out of here... I will come back to hear your answer.
¡ªPffft... You really are something else. Don¡¯t take too long, alright? I also have something to tell you...
¡ªI promise.
Blood started flowing onto the floor. For K, it was never growing old. Big men on their knees, crying like little babies. She enjoyed that more than anyone there.
¡ªBang, bang... Sounds so sweet, the metal fleshing through!
A few moments later, a loud and disturbing roar of what it seemed the road to Hell started emerging from nothingness.
¡ªNaples.
¡ªCan¡¯t get to it, all roads lead to Rome.
This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings.¡ªGood. Send me the map.
The picture reached L in a matter of seconds. (The old factory... Seems like a good spot to hide. Not very secure for shipments, though.)
¡ªWhatever, I will break through.
It all started with lights flashing across the night sky, making as much noise as possible, and a thunder of a song. L¡¯s bike was modified to be able to do that much, as well as decimating wood gates as if they were paper, all thanks to the titanium crown of spikes which adorned the front of this monster.
¡ªThere¡¯s... Really no one over here... Hey, L.
¡ªWhat¡¯s up?
¡ªI can¡¯t see a single person inside there with infrared, you sure that¡¯s the place?
That stopped her for a second. This place was massive, but judging from their intelligence, and the confession of that guard, which confirmed it, just a building of this size could host what they¡¯re looking for.
¡ªAre you sure those damn systems of yours are not faulty again?
¡ªYeah, I¡¯ve always got two of these bad boys on me. There¡¯s no way both of them ain¡¯t working at the same time.
(Concerning... If this is just another dead end... What the heck have we even been doing all these years... I just hope you are okay, wherever you are right now.)
¡ªYahoo, Boss!
¡ªWhat the...! What are you doing here, K!?
¡ªI was bored, so I came to play!
¡ªYou absolute idiot... You should be covering where M cannot properly watch my back.
¡ªBut there was no one-
A sharp tweak came from the radio. It was M.
¡ªHEY, GET THE F*CK OUT OF THERE!
¡ªUh-?
¡ªYou heard her, get in the bike, we can talk about this later.
This wasn¡¯t an unprecedented situation. The trio had been dealing with ambushes, or traps for quite a while now. The tone of self-proclaimed ¡®sniper master¡¯ was, however, something new.
— 0 — Fearless Horror (3)
¡ªAlright, we are on the move, now explain yourself, M.
¡ªSorry... I got a bit careless out there.
Contrary to the shout from before, now her voice was trembling slightly, as if in pain.
¡ªAre you injured?
¡ªNah... Just a scratch.
¡ªCan you keep giving us fire support from afar?
¡ªImpossible, they took my spot. I¡¯m on the run now.
That last bit made L think for a while before answering back. (If they came from behind M, then it had to be from K¡¯s side... But she came here instantly to meet me after her part was executed. Which means, it was all set up.)
¡ªYou are as good as dead.
Before she had time to react, L¡¯s bat hit K directly from the bike, which at that moment, had a speed of 100 mph, roughly 160 kmh, effectively making her ¡®fly¡¯ backwards.
¡ªThat was so damn lit, Boss!
Apparently she used one arm to protect from the hit, and then her shoulder to shelter from the impact against the soil. (Smart prick, but not for much longer.)
¡ªDid you sell us, K?
¡ªHit first and then ask?
The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
¡ªI¡¯m sure I covered my ass before coming in here. There was no way they knew we were coming today, from this very spot, and that we had a sniper so close by.
¡ªAh... You are as smart as always, marry me, Boss!
¡ªI made sure to hit the arm you use for aiming. It¡¯s the end of the road for you, K.
¡ªI won~der about that...
¡ªWe are going to be surrounded in a bit, I know that much already.
L took a moment to look to both sides of the building as she was speaking. Probably less than a second. She had that habit to make herself look bigger or more important.
¡ªSo I¡¯ll take care of-
Bang.
¡ªHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, AMBIDEXTROUS, BABY!
That moronic laugh resonated as far as the eyes could see. The frantic silence made it echo even further, maybe even reaching M in the process.
¡ªIt¡¯s a pity, though...
Her former ¡®Boss¡¯ wore a fairly heavy headpiece, reminiscent of a WWI German helmet, including the spike. K wasn¡¯t sure about her reasoning for doing that, but for sure she could evade a direct hit in the head with that monster. So, the aim was lower.
¡ªI thought you could give some more of a fight, but you were careless... I guess I¡¯ll not be dead by daylight now!
¡ªIs that right...? Was I careless...?
¡ªOh my... Still speaking? I was pretty sure to aim between your lung and heart!
¡ªI wonder what you hit then...
With a cheerful tone accompanying her movements, K took a seat over a barrel. Profoundly enjoying the sights.
¡ª(Still two...) So... Why...? Money...?
¡ªAwww... Do you think I can be bought that easily, Boss?
¡ªYeah...
¡ªDamn, you know me well! But...
This time, her big smile and eyes decreased in size, giving more of a chilling gaze to L.
¡ªI was never with you to start with.
¡ªSay again?
¡ªI work for the guys who took your sister, Liliana.
The air started to get heavy. L might not look different from before due to her injuries, yet her blood was boiling, scorching hot.
¡ª(One...) Who are they, anyway?
¡ªWanna know...? Wanna know so badly you would kill me for that info~!?
A big sigh escaped from Liliana¡¯s lips, looking at nothing in particular, partially defeated.
¡ªYeah. I would make you explode in one thousand pieces myself if I could.
¡ªWell... I know you sent M after me, so I¡¯ll go kill her before she gets here.
¡ªWhat...? How did you...?
— 0 — Fearless Horror (4)
That wide, unpretty, and hazardous smile came back.
¡ªYou are at the end of your wits, Boss... There is no one coming here. I wanted to deal you both myself! Wouldn¡¯t that make for a great achievement? ¡°The Great M deals with the band¡¯s most notorious enemies... After two years of fake friendship.¡±
¡ªAh...
¡ªHehe, are you desperate yet?
¡ªThank God you are so f*cking dumb...
¡ªWha-?
One single piercing bullet was enough. Not from K, not from L. It came from behind. The objective was that red barrel.
¡ªRed means its got fuel in it, idiot.
The explosion, not big enough to cover more than a few meters, was enough to make the traitor¡¯s body fly, and finally hit the ground. Contorted, distorted. Multiple 3rd grade burns, and various broken bones.
¡ªI know you can¡¯t speak, and you will die in a minute or so, for which I¡¯ll be nice and quick. You were acting weird from the days before we got in here, so I took some notes. Got some PIs to look into your past, and there wasn¡¯t a lot, except from the fact that everything minimally related to you was dead. Then, when this mission started, I instructed M to fake some injuries if you made any moves outside of the plan. Of course, I was not expecting you to be able to aim with both arms, not that you wouldn¡¯t bring anyone else... But when you decided on those things, you signed a dead sentence.

L revealed a Desert Eagle, coming from inside her jacket, which made K¡¯s eyes, or what was left of one, leave an insightful reaction.
¡ªI also have a gun. Never told you because there was no need, but I prepared myself to use it in the moment you turned the back to me to go find M. So confident in your own victory you were, that you were going to leave me alive, since I couldn¡¯t do anything to stop you anyway, right?
L took what little hair K still had on her, and buried that burned face into the ground, one last time.
Goodnight, Kiara.
— 1 — Slices of Worlds (1)
¡ªWHAT THE HELL IS THIS PLACE!?
Some echoing voice edged forward, into a world which seemed out of fictional literature.
¡ªGet in line, Kiara.
¡ªYes, m¡¯am.
(Wait... Why am I obeying this old hag!?)
¡ªNow, wait here without saying a single word.
(I want to kill her so badly...) Yet, she was unable to do anything outside the realm of those words. They protuded into her as some parasite whom took control of their host.
¡ªAlright... You are finally here, the worst of today¡¯s bunch.
¡ªWhere... Where am I?
A place which could only be described by a single word: white. Anything else would be naught. Massive? Sure, but that doesn¡¯t give a lot about it; there are many big things after all. Perplexing? What isn¡¯t in a fictional setting, anyway? Frivolous? As any other place unwelcoming humanity.
¡ªAlfa, and omega. This is an impasse outside of everything.
Her face remained as confused and detached from it as before.
¡ªSo, Kiara... You killed, raped, perturbed, injured, and many more actions that I cannot get into because of time issues. Am I right?
¡ªOh! I see now! Are you a fan!? Maybe a very rich client!? I will take any offer, go ahead, please!
¡ªNo. I¡¯m a judge of the Heavens. You are dead, Kiara.
¡ªDead... Dead... No, I definitely can¡¯t remember!
¡ªOf course you don¡¯t. Those memories from the Earth are going to be carefully erased. That is just the first to be gone.
¡ªIs there a way to not forget that? There is... A certain thing I have to remember forever.
The judge forced a smirk. Well, even demons have precious memories they want to preserve, right? In any case, this is perfect.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
¡ªHave you heard about angels, Kiara?
¡ªYou mean those giant eyeballs?
¡ªThose are old Christian representations. An angel¡¯s also a finite being. They can feel, live, and die.
¡ªAha... So?
¡ªMost angels are actually reincarnated sinners.
¡ªWhat?
¡ªThey are offenders, which try to reach salvation by making up for their mistakes.
¡ªWhat?
¡ª(God, give me patience...) What I am trying to say, Kiara, is that you can become an angel, and help people... Since you don¡¯t want to fry in Hell.
¡ªI don¡¯t really mind going to Hell if I can make their heads go boom boom!
¡ªIf you go to Hell, however, you will lose all your memories.
¡ªThat¡¯s...! Then...
Her hair started curling, as a result of her shy movements.
¡ª(Heh.) Do you choose to be an angel?
¡ªPlease, m¡¯am!
A month went by since that moment. Kiara had to be trained in some basic etiquete, and how to deal with people as an angel, before starting her new unusual life.
¡ªGood morning, little angel, did you rest properly last night?
¡ªAs if! Your beds feel like sh*t!
¡ªI see... So you want to go back to Timeless Solitary Confinement!
¡ªErrrr... I did rest very well, thank you for this kind offer, m¡¯am!
The judge cracked a smile. It was a powerful feeling after all, being able to deal with this beacon of evilness.
¡ªToday... I am giving the permission to execute your very first mission.
¡ªMission?
¡ªIndeed. Angels go by helping people.
¡ªSounds like a pain in the...
— 1 — Slices of Worlds (2)
¡ªConfinement you say?
¡ªPain for our faithful believers, I mean!
¡ªIt is, darling, that¡¯s why you exist.
Before anything else, this was a life changer. Kiara was able to keep her memories, yet, in turn, that haunted her like a curse. This place of nothingness, had none of the colors from the real world. Nothing she enjoyed was anymore in here. Every wrong action, had a direct punishment, and evading that heavenly law wasn¡¯t possible.
¡ªWhatever... I¡¯ve got nothing better to do here, anyway.
New Mission!
A small girl was sent by her mom to retrieve a package
from the closest convenience store. The place is a quiet town
where time goes by slowly. Protect the child, and ensure the
parcel is properly delivered by her.
Reward: 1P of Benevolence.
Accept Mission?
¡ªAh, yes, yes, accept... Wait, what is ¡®Benevolence¡¯?
Pop.
¡ªWHAT THE-!?
Without any warning, K was teleported to the place where everything was going to take place. Of course, she had no more details than those reported on the letter from before¡ And time was ticking, not caring in the least for her shock.
¡ªAgh! That b*tch¡!
A strange sensation came up from her lower spine, as if signaling a warning from her words and actions. Maybe the superior was actually looking pretty closely¡
¡ªI meant to say¡ Where¡¯s that kiddo?
While looking from side to side, a feeling of nostalgia stuck in. This was her original world. Not exactly the urban settlement she lived in but¡ Much closer to it than Heaven would ever be.
¡ªI have to go quick, quick¡ One, two, one two!
An energetic voice took her interest. That person had a weird light to it. Maybe she was the girl she needed to help? Nah, it was probably just a coincidence.
¡ªIt isn¡¯t a coincidence, she¡¯s your target, Kiara.
¡ªGet out of my mind, I know!
¡ªJust making sure of it. May the Heavens Bless you with the Light that Purges All Shadows.
(What the heck was that last sentence¡ Anyway, workey like a donkey¡) Ironically, the uninterest she expressed was paramount¡ But still followed the little one around without question.
(Hm¡ So, the best route has some kind of nice fragrance to it¡ While bad pathways stink a lot. Wait, doesn¡¯t this make me a dog!?) Kiara¡¯s ramblings couldn¡¯t be heard by the runner, who continued to increase speed progressively¡ Not a big deal for an angel with close to infinite stamina, though.
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
(Oi, oi¡ Do we really have to go through a forest? This shit sure is-, ah, damn!) At the very last second, she got under the kid¡¯s body¡ The little one slipped, and almost got an injury because of it; yet K¡¯s quick judgement made it feel as if she got back up by the touch of ¡®wind¡¯.
¡ªWaaah¡ Careful, careful¡ But I need to get to grandma¡¯s house as soon as possible!
(That was close¡ Not like she was gonna die from it, but I¡¯m sure that ogre-woman would yell at me if I let that happen¡) While the last few steps were made, and the angel made sure her small peer got the package, she sighed in relief.
(Welp, that was eas-¡) Something huge, that felt like a limb impacted on her while walking over the bridge. How? She was pretty sure anything from this world couldn¡¯t interact with an angel. It was literally the only thing she paid attention to in classes; since she wanted to steal some stuff if she ever came back here¡ So why?
(Sh*t¡ What the Hell!?) Not having it, the former traitor, former criminal, and former murderer, decided to took matters into her own hands¡ Yet some 10-meter tall being stood in front of her¡ A pitch-black entity. This was unheard of.
¡ªHaha¡ A shadow, yah? I¡¯ve been blown to pieces once! Your damn unwashed hands ain¡¯t doing anything against me, are ya hearing this out!?
Her confidence was as high as the unknown peer. But unable to even move, one finger made the whole body of the woman tremble, contort, and finally impact a house. People remained unscathed, and the building stood untouched, yet Kiara started spiting blood.
¡ªAh¡ Hell yeah! That¡¯s what I¡¯m talking about, bring it all you bastar-
That sentence fell short as this time it was one of her legs which ended up being torned off. Even a smile of absolute madness like that couldn¡¯t keep up. It flew like a hurricane into the wind, never to be seen again.
¡ªFUUUUUUUUUC-!
The injured angel¡¯s head was elevated now, as if she was some kind of doll¡ And played with. As killing intent started flowing from within her, those pearly white wings started dyeing into a black color, which resembled the dark fur that foe had.
(I cannot move¡ I cannot speak¡ I feel like sh*t¡ Damn you, monster). Her mind started to wander somewhere else. Was even a second death possible? In that case, where would she even go this time? Kiara had a corporeal body no more, and above all¡ Nothing had changed. If a new chapter to this story about a dumb killer was to ever start, now it came to an end.
