《Crown rivals》 Welcome to Royal Academy The scene opens up where everyone is in the grand hall waiting for instructions. Everyone was looking around and talking to each other and then the headmaster came onto the stage and he gave his speech. Headmaster: "Esteemed students, welcome to the hallowed halls of Royal Academy. As headmaster, it is my honor to address the brightest minds and noblest hearts gathered here today. You, the future leaders of our nations, have been entrusted with a great responsibility to uphold the legacies of your kingdoms and to guide them towards a prosperous future. But remember, dear students, that the path to leadership is not an easy one. It is fraught with challenges, trials, and sacrifices. Here at Royal Academy, we do not merely mold minds, we shape character, instill discipline, and cultivate virtues that are befitting of royalty. You are not here solely by virtue of your birthright. You are here because you have been chosen to carry the torch of leadership, to embody the ideals of honor, integrity, and service. As you embark on this journey, I implore you to remember the values that have guided your ancestors for generations: wisdom, courage, and compassion. In the days and weeks to come, you will face tests of intellect, tests of character, and tests of resolve. But fear not, for you are not alone. Your fellow students, your mentors, and your heritage will stand beside you, offering guidance and support in times of need. Together, we will strive for excellence, for greatness, and for the betterment of our Kingdoms. Together, we will forge bonds that transcend borders and build bridges that span continents. And together, we will write a new chapter in the annals of history, a chapter filled with hope, promise, and the enduring spirit of royalty. So let us begin this journey with open hearts and open minds, knowing that the road ahead may be long and arduous, but that the rewards are worth every sacrifice. May you rise to meet the challenges that await you, and may you emerge from this crucible of learning as true leaders, worthy of the crowns you aspire to wear. Welcome, my dear students, to Royal Academy. Let the pursuit of knowledge, honor, and destiny commence." Everyone starts to clap. Also, the speech was empowering. Another school faculty member came onto the stage. Lucinda (Teacher): Hello students, I am Lucinda i am your homeroom teacher. I teach the 2nd born class. I hope we can all get along and if you need anything and have any questions it doesn''t matter if you''re first born or 2nd please come to me or any of your educators. Now putting that aside I want to make a couple of things clear. If you''re here for your own personal gain like basking in the glory of your royal lineage or to satisfy your ego then you are sorely mistaken. At that moment her words echoed throughout the grand hall and before I knew it everybody''s eyes were on her. Her words commanded the attention of every student. Many of us were shocked but mostly intimidated. We couldn''t help but listen and not take our eyes off her. Lucinda (Teacher): leadership is not a privilege it is a duty. It requires sacrifice, determination and an unwavering commitment to the wellbeing of your people. If you''re not willing to put in the hard work if you''re not prepared to face the challenges head on then I suggest you leave now. Everyone started to whisper and talk. Voice 1: what do you mean of course we are ready Voice 2: yeah we know this isn¡¯t a game Voice 3: everyone shush it looks like she is going to say something? Teacher Lucinda: But those of you who are ready to rise to the occasion, who understand the weight of your responsibilities and are willing to fight for the future of your kingdoms know this. Royal Academy will push you to your limits. It will test your intellect, your character and our resolve like never before. But if you persevere, if you embrace the lessons taught within these walls, you will emerge not just as rulers, but as leaders worthy of your crowns. With her steely gaze living, everyone stunned the look on everyone''s faces. They were pumped and they were ready Headmaster: Alright everyone let us begin. After that announcement the first born¡¯s and the second born¡¯s all went to their separate classes. Kamaria takes her seat near the back, her eyes scanning the room. Lunette, soft spoken and reserved, chooses a seat by the window, pulling out a book. She looks over at her classmates but doesn¡¯t engage, trying to remain unnoticed. Her sister¡¯s shadow hangs heavy, though Kamaria knows well she¡¯s smarter than most here. Alaric slams his books onto a desk in the middle of the room, his intimidating presence instantly turning heads. He leans back, arms crossed, a sharp gaze daring anyone to speak to him. Kamaria notes the air of arrogance about him. He¡¯s clearly not here to make friends, and it¡¯s clear he doesn¡¯t care about anyone¡¯s opinion. Hendrick sits closer to the front, not bothering to make eye contact with anyone. He fiddles with his pen, his expression closed off, but Kamaria notices the way he¡¯s quietly observing every move around him. His silence, much like hers, is deliberately meant to hide more than it reveals. Rosalva, sweet and gentle, offers a nervous smile to everyone as she enters. She moves with a softness that seems out of place in this cutthroat environment. She takes the seat next to Lunette, trying to offer a friendly gesture, though Lunette gives only a brief, polite nod in return before returning to her book. Markyle, relaxed as ever, strolls in last. He greets everyone with a casual wave and takes the desk at the very back, his eyes already glued to his tablet. He looks like he¡¯s not paying attention, but Kamaria knows better there¡¯s always more to Markyle than meets the eye. Finally, Rowan walks in, his gaze sharp as he sizes up the room. He takes a seat in the center, an air of confidence about him. Kamaria can tell just from his posture that he¡¯s already thinking several steps ahead of everyone else. This is someone who thrives in leadership, and it won¡¯t take long for him to rise to the top. Lucinda enters the room, her presence immediately silencing any last whispers. She stands at the front, her expression stern but not unkind. Lucinda: ¡°Welcome, Class D. I expect greatness from all of you. You¡¯re not here to simply be good, you''re here to surpass expectations. Your siblings may carry titles, but here, you will prove yourselves worthy of more. Hard work will define you. Your legacy starts now.¡±You are all here for a purpose. Your titles may be ¡®second born,¡¯ but this is where you prove you are more than a spare. Your actions, decisions, and the alliances you form will be closely watched by your peers, the faculty, and, most importantly, your families. Fail here, and it will not only reflect on you it will reflect on your entire kingdom.¡± Kamaria¡¯s fingers tighten around her pen. The weight of her own secret mission pulses beneath Lucinda¡¯s words, though outwardly, she remains calm and collected. Lucinda: ¡°Now, let¡¯s move on to rules. This academy holds itself to the highest standard of conduct, and you will be no exception. First: your relationships. If any of you think that being here is an opportunity to pursue some sort of¡ romantic entanglement, understand that it will be reported to your families. Relationships are not forbidden, but they are subject to scrutiny. If you choose to enter one, be prepared to face the consequences, good or bad. Any official relationship must be disclosed. We do not tolerate secrets here.¡± Also I understand some of your families may be at war or enemies and you may think this exempts you from this rule. But it doesn¡¯t. Here at Royal Academy, we expect you to rise above petty squabbles and grudges. Relationships, whether personal or political, have the power to unite kingdoms or tear them apart.¡± She stops in front of Kamaria, who stiffens under her teacher¡¯s gaze. Lucinda (Teacher): ¡°I¡¯ve seen it happen before two heirs falling for one another, their houses in bitter conflict. But what began as an innocent connection soon became a political disaster, leading to betrayal, war, and even death.¡± The room is silent now, the gravity of her words weighing on everyone. This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author''s work. Lucinda (Teacher): ¡°So remember that any relationship you form here, whether friendship or romance, is not just your business. It will have consequences, and those consequences will ripple across kingdoms. Choose wisely.¡± Kamaria exhales slowly, her mind flickering to her own family¡¯s complex past, while Rosalva shifts uncomfortably beside her, already worrying about how this could affect her position at the Academy. Lucinda (Teacher): ¡°Now, let¡¯s make this clear,¡± she continues, her voice softer now, but no less stern. ¡°You are not just here for yourselves. Your families have sent you here with hopes and expectations. But each of you must decide if you¡¯ll live under that shadow or if you¡¯ll carve your own path. Just remember, every choice has a consequence.¡± Now the first lesson is about leadership and history. First history it¡¯s important how can you expect to run your kingdom without knowing its history first? Your homework assignment is to know your family''s history. Once you learn it, write a paper on it and we will share it with the class. Next let''s talk about the Thirteen Crowns of Valtoria. Does anyone here know the history? She looked around the room looking at everyone to see if they knew it and most of the kids had a confused look on their faces. Lucinda (Teacher): ok how about the fall of Valtoria? A 2nd born student raised their hand and Lucinda called her to answer it. 2nd born: um excuse me teacher but i think you''re wrong it''s called the twelve crowns of valtoria not thirteen right? Lucinda smirked and she laughed a bit knowing what she said explains a theory she had and then she started to walk closer to the door and closed it and she went back up in front of the class. Lucinda ( Teacher): Students please hear me when what i say whatever we talk about doesn¡¯t leave this room. This is my classroom and I will decide what should and should not be taught. You can''t teach history without teaching all of it. Especially when you know nothing of the truth but lies instead. This is a life lesson not everything you hear is true even sometimes seeing it can be deceiving. Especially when the ones in a higher position, the ones with more power want to conceal things from you. So forget what you heard because they are all lies and I will tell you the truth. As future leaders one day it¡¯s only natural. Long ago there were still 20 kingdoms and out of the 20 there was one kingdom it was called valtoria. Valtoria was a powerful kingdom and it was known for their art and music but most of all their history and knowledge. They say knowledge is power in this case it is. Well after that their kingdom had been wiped out. They say valtoria over taxed there people and stole money from the poor and sold it¡¯s people into slavery and harvest their organs and sold them on the black market. Everyone was shocked and started whispering to everyone except Kamaria considering she is the last heir of the kingdom valtoria she started to scan the room watching everyone. Before Lucinda could continue her story, a loud knock echoed from the classroom door, cutting through the tense silence. Everyone''s attention shifted immediately as the door creaked open, revealing a tall figure dressed in formal academy robes. Faculty Member: "Lucinda, Headmaster requests your presence immediately." Lucinda''s sharp gaze shifted to the doorway, her smirk gone as she sighed slightly in annoyance. She knew exactly what this was about. The students exchanged confused glances, but Lucinda maintained her composure. She turned back to her class, her voice lowering as if to leave them with one last thought. Lucinda (Teacher): "Of course. But don''t think this discussion is over. Class dismissed." As the students began to gather their things, Lucinda''s voice lowered, drawing their attention one last time. Lucinda (Teacher): "Remember, not everything is as it seems. The truth has a way of hiding in plain sight, buried under lies, waiting for someone brave enough to uncover it. Keep your eyes open, students. You may be learning more than you think." Her gaze lingered on the class, particularly Kamaria, Lunette, Rowan, and the others, her words hanging in the air like a secret waiting to be discovered. With that, Lucinda turned and exited the room, leaving the students in a state of restless curiosity. Kamaria, standing at her desk, exchanged a glance with Rowan, a mix of confusion and intrigue playing across her face. The room buzzed with murmurs, everyone trying to make sense of what they''d just heard. Hendrick leaned over to Markyle, whispering under his breath. Hendrick: "Did she really just say what I think she did? The Thirteenth Crown...?" Markyle nodded, his expression equally puzzled. Markyle: "If it''s true, then there''s a lot more going on here than we know. We need to figure this out." The class slowly emptied, but the tension lingered, as though Lucinda''s cryptic words had unlocked something bigger than any of them could have anticipated. Lucinda¡¯s words hung heavily in the air as the students filed out, but one figure remained seated, Alaric. His eyes, sharp and calculating, followed Lucinda as she left. He leaned back in his chair, processing the teacher¡¯s cryptic message. Kamaria and Rowan passed him on their way out, but Kamaria hesitated, glancing at him. Kamaria: "You heard her, right? About the Thirteenth Crown?" Alaric didn¡¯t respond immediately, his gaze still fixed on the door Lucinda had walked through. Finally, he stood up, gathering his things, but not before looking at Kamaria. Alaric: "I heard. But she didn¡¯t say it for no reason." He slung his bag over his shoulder, eyes glinting with something Kamaria couldn¡¯t quite place a mix of intrigue and suspicion. Alaric had a reputation for knowing more than he let on, and this was no different. Alaric: "The Thirteenth Crown is real, and if what she said is true, we¡¯re not just here for lessons. We¡¯re here to uncover something." Rowan, who had been lingering nearby, raised an eyebrow. Rowan: "Uncover what, exactly?" Alaric shrugged but smirked, his confidence returning in full force. Alaric: "The truth. And it¡¯s going to be dangerous, but that¡¯s what makes it fun, doesn¡¯t it?" since lucinda didn¡¯t say it because she had to leave i will. Why is it called the thirteen crowns if twelve came together? As he walked past Kamaria and Rowan, Alaric''s words left them both standing in the corridor, a mixture of excitement and unease bubbling in their chests also shocked and more curious than ever. Kamaria: "Do you think he''s serious?" Rowan was unsure. Rowan: " But With Alaric? Maybe but what did he mean when twelve came together?." As they watched Alaric disappear down the hallway, another voice cut through the silence. Rosalva, who had been quietly observing from the back of the classroom, stepped forward. Her expression was unreadable, her sharp eyes flickering between Kamaria and Rowan. Rosalva: "He¡¯s not wrong, you know." Kamaria turned to her, eyebrows raised in surprise. Rosalva rarely spoke unless she had something important to say. Kamaria: "About the Thirteenth Crown? And twelve kingdoms coming together?" Rosalva nodded, her voice low and measured. Rosalva: "There are stories... rumors whispered through the corridors of royal courts. A hidden kingdom, erased from history. If Lucinda is hinting at the Thirteenth Crown, there''s more to this academy than just lessons in leadership." and about what Alaric said I am not sure? Rowan crossed his arms, his skepticism barely concealed. Rowan: "So, what? We¡¯re suddenly playing detective now?" Rosalva glanced at Rowan, her gaze cool and unflinching. Rosalva: "If you¡¯re not curious, Rowan, then you haven¡¯t been paying attention." She turned to Kamaria, a knowing look in her eyes. Rosalva: "This is bigger than any of us. If the Thirteenth Crown really existed, then it means someone''s family was betrayed. Maybe someone in this room." Kamaria frowned, the weight of Rosalva¡¯s words sinking in. The thought sent chills through her. Betrayal, forgotten kingdoms, and secret histories this was far more dangerous than any of them had anticipated. Kamaria: "You think Lucinda''s going to lead us into something we can¡¯t handle?" Rosalva tilted her head slightly, considering. Rosalva: "I think Lucinda¡¯s trying to teach us that there¡¯s more to being a ruler than following the rules. Sometimes, you have to question everything, even history." Kamaria, Rowan, and Rosalva exchanged glances, the air around them thick with unspoken tension. This was no ordinary school day. As they walked down the hall together, Kamaria glanced over at Rosalva. Kamaria: "You always keep quiet, but when you speak... it¡¯s like you already know something we don¡¯t." Rosalva smiled faintly, but said nothing more. The truth was still out there, waiting to be uncovered. As the three of them walked down the hallway, the tension from the earlier conversation still hung in the air. Kamaria, feeling the weight of Rosalva¡¯s words, decided to break the silence. Kamaria: "You know, we¡¯ve all been thrown into this crazy situation, but I don¡¯t even know much about any of you, besides the basics." She glanced at Rowan first. "You¡¯re the prince of Evermore, right?" Rowan raised an eyebrow, looking slightly amused. Rowan: "That¡¯s right. Evermore the Kingdom of Green Shores and abundant harvests, as the poets like to say." He gave a sarcastic grin. "Basically, my people grow a lot of crops, and I¡¯m supposed to make sure they keep doing that." Kamaria smiled faintly. Kamaria: "And you don¡¯t sound thrilled about it." Rowan: "It¡¯s fine, I guess. Being a second born, I¡¯m not expected to actually rule, which is both a blessing and a curse." He shrugged. "But enough about me. What about you, Kamaria? Your family runs one of the wealthiest kingdoms, right?" Kamaria hesitated for a moment, the weight of her family¡¯s mysterious history suddenly feeling much heavier after Lucinda¡¯s cryptic words. Kamaria: "Yeah, something like that." She glanced away, not wanting to dive into her kingdom¡¯s secrets just yet. "But what about Rosalva?" Rosalva, who had been walking a step behind them, looked up as both Kamaria and Rowan turned their attention toward her. Rosalva: "My family rules the Kingdom of Vathis. We¡¯re known for our mountains and¡ other things." Her voice was calm, almost distant, as if she were choosing her words carefully. Rowan: "Other things?" He pressed, intrigued by her mystery. Rosalva met his gaze but didn¡¯t elaborate. Rosalva: "That¡¯s all you need to know for now." She gave a slight smile, one that hinted at secrets she wasn¡¯t yet ready to share. Kamaria glanced between Rowan and Rosalva, noticing the silent tension. She decided to lighten the mood. Kamaria: "Well, since we¡¯re all sharing, I guess I should say more than just ''wealthy kingdom.'' My family controls Eldoria, and we¡¯re known for trade and innovation. A lot of the academy¡¯s tech comes from us." Rowan nodded, impressed. Rowan: "No wonder you seem so sharp. Eldoria¡¯s inventions are legendary." Kamaria smiled, but her mind was still occupied by what Rosalva had said earlier about the Thirteenth Crown and what Alaric said. There was more to this school and her classmates than met the eye. Kamaria: "Looks like we¡¯ve all got stories. But I guess we¡¯ll learn more as time goes on." Rosalva gave a small nod of agreement, while Rowan looked ahead thoughtfully. Rowan: "Yeah, and something tells me that Lucinda¡¯s not done shaking things up. This academy has more secrets than any of us expected." The three continued walking, and suddenly Kamaria stopped and so did everyone else. Kamaria: It was nice meeting you Rowan and Rosalva. Unfortunately I think I might turn in early. Our dorms are this way I can get there on my own. Rowan: alright then if you change your mind later on we are headed to the cafeteria so please don''t hesitate to join us Kamaria: alright then So the 3 of them went their separate ways as soon as kamaria got into her room she closed the door and she looked at herself in the mirror. Kamaria: They don¡¯t know who I am yet. But they will. They don¡¯t know it yet, but they¡¯re all pieces on the board. And I¡¯m about to make my first move. End of chapter 1 Chapter 2: The Game Begins Next morning came a beautiful day and Kamaria got dressed. She was sitting in front of her vanity mirror adjusting her school uniform. The weight of her family¡¯s legacy passed against her mind an invisible burden she had carried for as long as she could remember. The academy with its grandeur and promises of shaping future leaders was nothing more than a battlefield. Kamaria: They don¡¯t know who I am yet ( she whispered to herself a small smirk tugging at her lips. Her hand gripped the edge of the vanity table, her fingers curling into a fist.) but they will. The academy had no idea what she was about to unleash. The history That had been twisted, rewritten and buried was now waiting for the right moment to resurface. Everyperson she met today. Alaric, Lunette, Rosalva, Hendrick, was a potential piece in the intricate puzzle she was beginning to assemble. Kamaria stood her posture straightening as she turned from the mirror. There was no more time for reflection. This was where the real game began. She made her way to the academy¡¯s library a place where she could find both knowledge and leverage. Information was power and if she was going to control this chessboard, she would need every advantage she could get. Kamaaria makes her way into the academy''s vast library and her eyes scan the rows of ancient books, scrolls and manuscripts that lined the walls. The air smelled of parchment and knowledge. This was the heart of the academy¡¯s secrets. Kamaria knew that somewhere within these walls there could be hidden records¡ documents that might reveal the truth about her family¡¯s fall. She couldn¡¯t bring down those responsible without first uncovering the full story. As she walked between the towering shelves she noticed someone sitting quietly at one of the study tables. It was Rowman, his head down intensely focused on a thick toe spread out before him. His sharp gaze briefly flicked up noticing her but he quickly returned to his studies. Kamaria: ( she smirked at him and she thought to herself Rowan the quiet observer always searching for answers.) he could be useful. She approached casually trailing her fingers along the spines of books as she neared his table. Kamaria: you always bury yourself in knowledge (she said breaking the silence.) Rowman looked up his eyes narrowing slightly. Rowan: It''s the only thing that can¡¯t be taken from you. Kamaria: a wise sentient ( she replied sliding into a seat opposite him.) Knowledge can be a powerful weapon, don''t you think? Rowan: (Rowan studied her for a moment as if trying to figure out her motives.) And what weapon are you looking for? Kamaria: ( she leaned back a sly smile on her face.) I¡¯m just here to learn of course like everyone else. Meanwhile in Another Part of the Academy. Elsewhere Alaric and Hendrick were sparring in the academy¡¯s training yard. Their practice swords clashed as they tested each other¡¯s strength and strategy. Alaric ever calm and calculated, moved like a predator always one step ahead. Hendrick, more blunt in his approach, growled in frustration as he struggled to land a blow. Hendrick: You''re too damn fast! ( he spat taking a step back to catch his breath.) Alaric smirked, lowering his sword. Alaric: It''s not about speed. It''s about predicting your opponents next move. Hendrick: That sounds like something you¡¯d say on the chessboard. ( he muttered wiping sweat from his brow.) What''s going on with you? You have been distant since the assembly. Alaric¡¯s gaze darkened briefly thinking of kamaria and the strange sense that she was up to something. Alaric: just trying to stay ahead hendrick. Ina palace like this, being one step behind could cost you everything. Try your best to remember that. Back in the Library Kamaria continued her conversation with Rowan keeping her true intentions close to the chest. She asked him about the old academy records about ancient rivalries between kingdoms probing but never revealing too much. As they spoke, Lunette entered the library with her striking blue hair catching the dim light. She walked with a purpose, her eyes focused was always one to keep her distance never fully showing her hand. But there was something different about her now, an intensity that hadn¡¯t been there before. Kamaria leaned in closer to Rowan and her voice barely above a whisper. Kamaria: Have you noticed something strange about lunette recently? Rowan glanced over at Lunette, his expression thoughtful. Rowan: she¡¯s been distracted. Kamaria¡¯s smile widened. Kamaria: good maybe there''s something more happening here than meets the eye. Unauthorized usage: this narrative is on Amazon without the author''s consent. Report any sightings. As kamaria¡¯s web of intrigue begins to tighten Rosalva is seen wandering the academy gardens, her thoughts heavy with responsibilities her families placed on her shoulders. She too is beginning to realize that the academy is not what it seems and the alliances she forms will determine her future. After the lesson the bell rang signaling the start of lunch. The students began gathering their belongings with quiet murmurs filling the room. Lucinda offered a final nod dismissing them with a simple remember what we¡¯ve discussed. As the students exited the classroom Kamaria lingered her mind racing with thoughts of what Lucinda had said earlier. She glanced at the others watching as they casually interacted, already forming small groups. Kamaria hadn¡¯t yet fully integrated into their world but she knew she had to start playing the game. Outside the classroom Lunette caught up with rowan and hendrick the three chatting casually as they walked down the hallway. Lunette: So what¡¯s everyone thinking for lunch? The cafeteria or back to the dorms? Hendrick shrugged and rowan towards kamaria. Rowan: I think I''ll hit the cafeteria today. What about you kamaria? Kamaria was momentarily taken aback but quickly composed herself offering a slight smile. Kamaria: cafeteria sounds good. As they all headed towards the dining hall the energy among the group was noticeably more relaxed than the intensity of their first day. The cafeteria bustling with students from the first and second born classes provided an opportunity for more casual interactions and a brief respite from the constant political tension of the academy. Kamaria retained alert though. Even lunch felt like part of the larger game being played around her. As the group made their way to the cafeteria alaric behind adjusting his jacket as if preparing to leave. Hendrick: Hey Alaric you coming with us? Alaric glanced at his watch before offering a polite smile. Alaric: Sorry I have another engagement. Rowan raised an eyebrow curious. What kinda of engagement? Alaric¡¯s eyes gleamed with a hint of mystery as he calmly responded to the chess match. Maybe next time. Kamaria Lunette and Hendrick exchanged curious glances but let it go continuing towards the cafeteria as Alaric turned in the opposite direction. Later Alaric made his way to the secluded courtyard Morjaria courtyard where Morjaria was already waiting by a stone table with a chess board laid out. She looked up with a smirk as he approached her piercing eyes, already analyzing him like puzzle. Morjaria: "You''re late. I was beginning to think you''d found someone else to play with." Alaric chuckled, taking his seat across from her. "You know there''s no one else quite like you." Their dynamic was electric, the air charged with an unspoken tension. Every word, every glance held double meanings, much like the pieces on the chessboard in front of them. Morjaria: "I hope you''re not expecting to win this time." She moved a pawn without looking down, her gaze fixed on him. Alaric leaned forward, his hands resting lightly on the table. "Winning isn''t always the goal. Sometimes the game itself is more interesting." Morjaria smirked, her tone teasing, but her eyes held an underlying truth. "Is that why we keep playing these games? We both know how this ends." Their playful banter continued as they played, the game of chess reflecting their complicated relationship. There was a deep respect between them, an intellectual attraction that neither could ignore. They understood each other too well, two minds always looking for an edge, but with hearts that never quite revealed themselves fully. Morjaria: "You know, Alaric, if I didn¡¯t know better, I¡¯d say you enjoy these meetings a little too much." Alaric¡¯s lips curved into a soft smile. "Maybe I do. Or maybe it¡¯s because we both know how rare it is to find someone who sees the world the way we do." Morjaria: "I suppose, but that doesn''t change the fact that you¡¯ll never truly beat me." Alaric looked at the chessboard, knowing she was right at least for today. Alaric: "Perhaps. But that¡¯s what makes this so much fun." The chess game between Alaric and Morjaria went on, their every move a calculated dance, neither willing to fully give in to the other. As Morjaria moved her knight into position, she leaned back with a knowing smile. Morjaria: "Check." Alaric studied the board, his mind racing with possible counterplays. He met her gaze and let out a low chuckle. Alaric: "As always, you¡¯re ahead of the game." Morjaria tilted her head slightly, her eyes softening just for a moment. Morjaria: "It''s only fun when the stakes are high." Alaric placed his hand on his king, hesitated, and finally knocked it over. Alaric: "You win, this time." Morjaria raised an eyebrow, her smirk widening. Morjaria: "This time? I never lose, Alaric. But maybe that''s why we keep doing this." Alaric stood up, offering her a small nod of respect. Alaric: "You¡¯re one of a kind, Morjaria." She watched him leave the courtyard, her smile fading just a bit as she whispered under her breath, Morjaria: "And so are you." The scene shifted to Alaric walking down a quiet corridor, his hands in his pockets. Morjaria¡¯s words still echoed in his mind, and a slight smile tugged at his lips. But as he approached his next class, the smile faded, and his expression grew serious. Alaric (thinking): Everyone¡¯s playing their own game. But in the end, it¡¯s not about who wins it¡¯s about who controls the board. so i have a question to my readers would you guys rather listen to me read it. i can do a little bit of voice acting with it? Chapter 3: Strategic Confessions. The common room of the second born dormitory is dimly lit with the soft glow of a fireplace illuminating the space. Kamaria has gathered lunette rowan rosalva hendrick and marklye. They all sit down in a circle with ere expressions ranging from curiosity to skepticism. Hendrick: (he started to lean back in his chair) this academy isn¡¯t just about leadership. It''s a battlefield where every move matters. I¡¯ve been observing all of you and I think you have realized by now that trust here is as fragile as glass. Rosalva: (frowning) what are you saying? We can''t trust each other? The group started to exchange uneasy glances. And lunette leans forward, her eyes narrowing. Lunette: You''ve been holding something back kamaria. What is it? Kamaria: (she started to take a deep breath) I wasn''t completely honest about why I came to the Royal Academy. This isn''t just about proving myself as a leader. It¡¯s about uncovering the truth about my family and the kingdom of Valtoria. The room gets silent and everyone was shocked. Rowan: Valtoria? That kingdom that got wiped out years ago. They were¡ accused of reason weren''t they? Kamaria: (there was anger in her voice) Accused. My family was made into scapegoats for crimes they didn¡¯t commit. Rosalva: crimes? That Ms. Lucinda mentioned in class? I Remembered. But it all makes sense she also hinted that Victoria''s fall wasn''t as clear cut as we were taught. But even if it is true, who could have done it? It can¡¯t be anybody at the school cause it happened way before we were born. Rosalva she started to think heavily about this but she wasn''t the only one. Kamaria: lucinda said that valtoria overworked its people and stole funds and sold them into slavery and worse. However what she didn¡¯t say was it was a cover up. Everyone was shocked and confused by that statement. Alaric: What do you mean a cover up? Kamaria: Like I said, another family used my family as a scapegoat to cover up their mess. What I want to know is why? My parents died to defend our name. And just like that everyone turned their back on them. This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there. Lunette: Thirteen Crowns of Valtoria? Could that be it? Hendrick: could be but you''re forgetting something remember what alaric said? Why is it called Thirteen Crowns of Valtoria if twelve came together. So alaric what does that mean? Everyone looked at Alaric waiting for answer. Alaric smirk because the conversation got good people were asking the right question. Alaric: Yes, why is it called that if twelve come together? That''s what I would like to know? Sorry but that''s information i don''t have yet Markyle: yet? What do you mean? You were already looking into it? If that''s the case then where are you getting your information from? I mean to ask what do you do in your free time? Where do you go when you have the time? Everyone was curious about that because he usually keeps to himself alaric and does not participate in the activities at school. Usually just keeps to himself or so they thought. Alaric: I am in the library reading books and i also play chess. Markyle: By yourself? I highly doubt that? Alaric: What is the sudden interest in me and my daily life? Do you admire that much Markyle? Now I can be brilliant the majority of the time however? Alaric was cut off. Markyle: Shut up, that''s not what I meant and you know it? Alaric: We are not here about me, we are here about kamaria. Now Kamaria, why did you tell us all of this? I am sure it couldn¡¯t have been all for nothing. Is there something you need from all of us? Now everyone¡¯s eyes were fixated on kamaria. Kamaria: I can''t battle this alone so I ask you to please help me figure out who was the one responsible for it? I know it took place a long time ago however , can you guys ask your families if they know something? It''s no one at the school but the families though they are at fault the question is whos family? Lunette: You want us to not only help you figure it out but bring them down as well? Kamaria: I want us to play the long game. To outthink them outmaneuver them and make them answer for what they done. Rowan: (Hesitant) That¡¯s¡ a lot to ask. Kamaria: I know and I don''t expect you guys to trust me right away. However, think about it like this: what''s stopping them from doing the same thing to your kingdoms? Hendrick: Really think so? But we don¡¯t have anything to offer. Kamaria: That''s not true. Each kingdom is special and powerfully in their own little way and it''s because of that power people get jealous and they will do whatever means necessary to get rid of it. Rosalva: She is right. This academy is a battlefield and if we are going to do this we need a real strategy. End of chapter 3¡ Chapter 4: Allies and Enemies (Part 1) After kamaria dropping that whole bomb on the group the other day about her being the last heir of Valtoria. Everyone started to help her achieve her goals but they were also worried that if what she said was true then whoever brought her kingdom down could do the same thing to their kingdoms or worse. This is one big Pandora''s box that they are trying to open. The next few days at Royal Academy are marked by subtle shifts in the group¡¯s behavior. Kamaria Rowan, Lunette, Rosalva, Hendrick, and Markyle begin working together in quiet strategic ways, their alliance growing stronger. Each member starts investigating their own family histories hoping to find clues about the Thirteenth Crown and its connection to Valtoria¡¯s Downfall. Kamaria spends her time in the library digging through ancient text and maps of old kingdoms one day as she carefully flips through a Cumberland manuscript Rowan approaches her. Rowan: still chasing ghost, huh? Kamaria glances at him, but doesn¡¯t smile. Kamaria: they¡¯re not ghost their answers, and they are here somewhere. Rowan leans against the table, his tone softening. Rowan: do you even know what we¡¯re looking for Kamaria hesitates and she closes the book in front of her. Kamaria: I¡¯m looking for the truth and maybe just maybe a way to set things right Rowan studies her a flicker of respect in her eyes. Rowan: you really believe there¡¯s more to this than what we¡¯ve been told? Kamaria: I know there is the question is whether you believe it to. Roman doesn¡¯t answer but picks up a nearby block and starts flipping through it his son gestures of support speaks louder than words. Meanwhile Alaric continues his own investigation. He spends more time playing chess with Morjaria using their matches as opportunity to exchange, suitable insight and information. Morjaria: you¡¯re distracted today usually usually you¡¯re at least a little more suitable about it. Alaric: Moving his knight on the chessboard. Let¡¯s just say there are interesting developments happening. Morjaria: She raises an eyebrow. Does this have something to do with the new alliance? I¡¯ve noticed forming? Alaric doesn¡¯t respond directly, instead countering her move with a calculated check. Alaric: let¡¯s just say when people ban together it¡¯s often because they¡¯re afraid of something or someone. Morjaria smirks she is intrigued. Morjaria: and what are you afraid of Alaric? Alaric: He started to smirk back and then he said not losing to you for once. They continued to play chess in the game started to get intense. Morjaria she starts to study the board moving her bishop, and then she says. Morjaria: let¡¯s change the topic to something more interesting. For instance, you¡¯ve been unusually persistent lately Alaric. What''s keeping you up at night, another mystery to solve? I remember when we were kids you would always used to read those mystery books you know and you just fall in love each and every time you loved a good story you loved a good case. Alaric started to smile as he remembered the good old days and then he started to counter his night, his eyes are sharp. Alaric: let¡¯s call it¡ An itch that needs scratching and you¡¯ve been acting rather unartistic lately Morjaria. Almost like you¡¯ve got a secret. Morjaria looked at him with a confused look, and then she started to raise an eyebrow and smirking and laughing a bit and then she moves her rook. Morjaria: just to assure you there¡¯s nothing going on. I¡¯m completely fine and even if that was the case, everyone has secrets even you isn¡¯t that what keeps us interesting? Alaric looked at her, pausing briefly and sliding his queen into position Alaric: true but secrets have a way of unraveling, especially when someone¡¯s attention waivers Morjaria''s eyes were narrowing as she scans the board. Morjaria: and you think my attention is wavering? How presumptuous of you. Alaric started to lean forward, his voice calm but pointed. Alaric: I think there¡¯s something or someone pulling your strings and it¡¯s making you reckless What he said caught Morjaria off guard. She started laughing softly and there¡¯s a sharp edge to it as she moves her king. Morjaria. Reckless? Me? That¡¯s rich coming from someone who insist on knowing everything. Alaric moves his rock with precision. Alaric: Check. Morjaria: started to pause her fingers hovering over a piece as she assesses her limited options. Morjaria: concerning me on the board and in conversation? You¡¯re getting bold Alaric. He starts to lean back and his gaze never leaving hers. Alaric: I prefer efficient so tell me what¡ or who¡ has you still out of sorts? Someone para wager someone worth hiding.Unauthorized reproduction: this story has been taken without approval. Report sightings. She¡¯s finally moving her king to avoid the check her smirk returning Morjaria: efficient indeed, but you should know not all battles are one with brute forest. Some secrets are better left in the dark. Alaric still configure her out he knew that there was something there so he decided to push again. Alaric: how¡¯s your family these days? The air, the intensity, the whole vibe change she began to feel hot because part of what she was hiding had to do with her family. She wasn¡¯t expecting that question, but she paused for a second and then she looked up at him and he knew that something was there. Morjaria: my family? Alaric: yeah your family I know we¡¯re not supposed to have or be involved in any political dealings with our families right now, but we are allowed to speak to them so how are they? Do you know? Have you talked to your family since you¡¯ve been here? She began to force a smile to convince that there¡¯s nothing wrong, but they¡¯re clearly is, and there was a lot of tension in her shoulders. Morjaria: they¡¯re fine I suppose why wouldn¡¯t they be? He started to study here closely. He obviously knew that he struck a nerve. He knew that there was something wrong because of the way she was acting her whole body language said something, and the atmosphere was just off. It was different now it shifted. He started to pry even more. Alaric: something happened, didn¡¯t it? Morjaria: not everyone lives for the drama Alaric. Some of us have ordinary lives inside academy, your relentless. Alaric: are you in trouble? She was hesitating her lips parting as if she was about to speak, but no words came out. She looked up at him, caught between the weight of the question in her silence. And then somebody called her name very sharply and loudly. Voice from the distance: Morjaria! Snapping out of her hesitation, quickly standing and smoothing out her uniform. Morjaria: I think I should go and please¡ Drop it and it would be nice if you just take a break for now. Alaric: Brings aren¡¯t really my style also he started to counteract her move, immediately, placing her in a final and inescapable position checkmate. She started to smile Morjaria: congratulations you won. I guess there really is a first time for everything well played, but don¡¯t think this one means you figured me out. Alaric started to smile and he was standing up. Alaric: it means I¡¯m getting closer. And the more you try to flag the more you confirm, but I already suspect. She started stand up and she walked over to him. They were standing across from each other and looking at each other, and she got real close her eyes a bit glossy, and she said. Morjaria: careful curiosity killed the cat remember? Alaric: good thing I¡¯m not a cat. Morjaria: be careful I hate to see you get hurt now. If you excuse me, I must take my leave. See you in a couple of days. and after that she started to leave as she was walking away Alaric he was scanning the entire room seeing who or what called out to her one thing was for sure she wasn¡¯t acting like herself, but he did see a figures reflection, but he couldn¡¯t make out on who it was so he left as well. He said himself. Alaric: one thanks for sure something happened all right I¡¯m gonna find out what. Later that day, Lunete quietly observant as always begins piercing together, suitable connections that one evening she approaches Kamaria during a study session. Lunette: i¡¯ve been thinking about what Lucinda said about history being rewritten. Kamaria looks up intrigued Kamaria: And? Lunette: my family¡¯s archives¡ I remember reading something about an alliance that was supposed to include 13 crowns not 12. But the record stopped suddenly right before. Valtoria¡¯s fall. Kamaria¡¯s heart races. Kamaria: you think your family might know something? Lunette: I don¡¯t know. But if they do, they¡¯ve kept it buried for a reason. After that, the two girls exchanged unknowing look thermometer understanding so satisfying their bond. That same evening the group gathers in the common room to share their findings. After his game of chess. He had a lot to think about. But he walked past the common room, and he noticed that everybody was gathered there, so he unexpectedly shows up leading casually against the doorway. And then he says to the group Alaric: I hope I¡¯m not interrupting. The group freezes their unease evident. Kamaria steps forward, her expression unreadable. Kamaria: what do you want Alaric? Alaric: to help or at least to see what you¡¯re all up to you¡¯re not exactly subtle. Not to mention you asked for all of our help Kamaria which include includes me. Hendrick: since when do you care about teamwork? Alaric: let¡¯s just say I don¡¯t like being left out of the fun. Besides, I¡¯ve got a feeling whatever you¡¯re digging into might affect us all not only that I¡¯ve got my own priorities now just means that the game has changed completely this time and if you want my advice, be careful. This is some deep and heavy stuff. Everyone couldn¡¯t deny it, but what he was saying was true. Kamaria: ok fine but if you¡¯re going to join us, you play it by my rules. Alaric: wouldn¡¯t have it any other way. The room remains tense as Alaric takes a seat, but his addition to the group brings a sharp calculating energy that Kamaria knows will be both a blessing and a curse. As the group discussed their findings Rosalva suddenly speaks up her voice, quiet but firm. Rosalva: there¡¯s something I haven¡¯t told you that my family¡ We¡¯ve always been close to the royal family of Eldora. Kamaria¡¯s eyes narrow. Kamaria: So? Rosalva: I overheard something as a child. A conversation between my parents and in envoy from another kingdom, they mentioned valtoria and something about the crown being divided I didn¡¯t understand it then but now¡ Her voice trails off as an implication sink in the group stares at her, the weight of her revelation settling heavily over them. Kamaria: so it wasn¡¯t just one kingdom. Multiple families were involved in Valtoria¡¯s fall. Kamaria she kept thinking hard about it all, and then she finally came to conclusion. The words that kept rattling in her head was.m, ¡° why is it called 13 crowns if 12 came together¡± She came to a conclusion, a shocking conclusion she wanna believe it, but it just made sense in the situation. Kamaria: GUYS! I figured it out Why is it called 13 crowns if 12 came together it¡¯s simple. The 13 crown represented my kingdom and the 12 who came together to destroy it. Everyone was shocked by that when she said that it started to make sense to everybody, and whoever is behind this, whoever the 12 kingdoms that came together to put an end to Valtoria and not only destroy them but framed them were still out there and one thing for certain whoever the kingdoms are, they¡¯ll most likely somebody who goes to the school. After hours at school when it was nighttime and everybody was sleeping Morjaria was sneaking out of her dormitory, and she went into a secret library for a meeting as soon as she got in there everybody started talking. K: now! now! Settle down everyone, let''s get this meeting into order. Someone has been buzzing around, trying to uncover secrets that should remain hidden. I don¡¯t understand. Why is everyone bringing up the past of the past we should be able to move forward in peace but now it seems like we can¡¯t do that. So Morjaria how was chess dear? She hesitated. She didn¡¯t wanna say, and she hated lying to Alaric but she didn¡¯t have a choice. Morjaria: I don¡¯t think they have anything yet and Alaric it seems like he doesn¡¯t know anything, but I have heard talks and rumors. A: If you''re gonna be a spy, please be a good one. Morjaria: I am sorry everyone, I will do better. K: your trying isn¡¯t good enough but it¡¯s ok you know what they say if you want something done right you have to do it yourself. End chapter 4¡
