《Hell on Earth》 Chapter 1: RELOAD ¡°Hey, Adrian, you¡¯re going to be late for school!¡± his mother called, her voice slicing through the fog of sleep. Adrian¡¯s eyes fluttered open to reveal a familiar ceiling, its dull paint and peeling edges greeting him like an old friend. He sat up straight, taking a moment to survey the confines of his room¡ªthe small, cluttered space filled with half-assembled models and worn-out books. This was all he had ever known, a silent sanctuary that offered little more than a sense of safety in an otherwise chaotic world. With a groan, Adrian swung his legs over the side of the bed and shuffled toward the bathroom. As he reached for the doorknob, his stepsister, Fina, burst in, her hair still tousled from sleep. ¡°Good morning, slowpoke!¡± she chirped, a teasing smile spreading across her face. Adrian¡¯s heart raced, pounding against his ribcage like a caged animal. He turned a shade of crimson, his feelings for Fina evident in the heat rising to his cheeks. While she seemed blissfully unaware, it was painfully clear to anyone who cared to look that he harbored more than just brotherly affection for her. ¡°Morning,¡± he mumbled, retreating to his room to give her some privacy. As he waited, he felt an unsettling tingling sensation enveloping him, like tiny electric currents dancing over his skin. The ground beneath him felt unstable, as if he were experiencing the tremors of a small earthquake. The feeling dissipated almost as quickly as it had come, so he shrugged it off, attributing it to his imagination. The morning routine continued as usual. He brushed his teeth, took a shower, and prepared for school. Yet, throughout the day, that strange sensation returned, intensifying with each passing hour. By the time he reached school, he felt lightheaded, the world around him spinning like a carousel gone awry. Eventually, the edges of his vision darkened, and everything went black. ¡°Where am I?¡± he whispered, jolting awake in a trash dump, the stench of decay overwhelming his senses. Confusion washed over him as he recognized the area¡ªit was far from his home, yet all too familiar. ¡°Human modification update complete. 40% of all abilities have been unlocked and are now available,¡± a robotic female voice echoed in his mind. ¡°Who¡¯s there?¡± Adrian gasped, fear flooding his veins as he scanned his surroundings. Panic surged through him, prompting him to spring to his feet and run. ¡°It¡¯s all in my head. Today has just been really weird. I¡¯m sure it¡¯s just the bee that stung me the other day,¡± he reasoned, recalling the time he had been stung by a bee and suffered severe side effects. Adrian was deathly allergic, but the extent of his reactions¡ªpassing out, temporary brain damage, and even severe body deformation¡ªwas beyond what anyone would consider normal. Adrian dashed through the rubble, his heart pounding in his ears, unaware of the speed at which he was running¡ªaround 25 km/h. His legs carried him tirelessly until he finally reached home. But as he crossed the threshold, horror gripped him. The place he once called home lay in ruins, torn apart and engulfed in blue flames. ¡°Fina!¡± he shouted, spotting her body crawling toward him, desperately trying to escape the inferno. His heart shattered as he ran toward her, each step becoming heavier as he drew closer. But with each heartbeat, the sound of her pulse faded, growing weaker. He reached her just in time to realize he was clutching a lifeless corpse. Tears streamed down his face as he screamed, the sound of his anguish piercing through the night. The world around him crumbled as he wept, and it was then that the true horror emerged¡ªthe creatures responsible for the devastation, the nightmares that had haunted humanity, now stood before him. This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there. Demonic figures materialized from the shadows, grotesque forms that defied nature. A massive black caterpillar with hardened skin and menacing horns slithered closer, while airborne dinosaur-like beasts with unhinged jaws circled overhead, their throats gaping wide enough to swallow ten fully grown men whole. A horde of demonic slaves surrounded him, their eyes gleaming with malice. Before they could strike, everything went black again. Adrian felt nothing, only silence enveloping him until the robotic voice returned. ¡°Survival mode activated. Survival abilities activated. 55% of power restored. Autopilot activated.¡± In a hazy state of unconsciousness, he felt his body move on its own, almost as if he were watching a movie of someone else¡¯s life. When he finally came to, he found himself mid-air, hurtling through the chaos. In an uncanny sequence, he blacked out and woke up repeatedly, each time in a new battle against the creatures. It was as though he had gained new strength while unconscious, ripping apart the caterpillar-like creature with bare hands, the taste of adrenaline fueling his rage. ¡°Autopilot mode malfunction. Coloured blood,¡± the voice droned on, but in that moment, Adrian didn¡¯t care. All he wanted was his family back. As the sun began to rise, exhaustion overtook him, and the world faded once more. ¡°Recuperation mode activated. All abilities offline,¡± the voice echoed as he succumbed to darkness, his body returning to its original state. His sleep, however, was short-lived. A cacophony of noise jolted him awake. Adrian¡¯s eyes flew open to reveal a mob of people surrounding him, each armed with makeshift weapons¡ªpitchforks, torches, and more. He found himself tied to a large wooden pillar, the ropes digging painfully into his skin. ¡°What the hell is going on?!¡± he shouted, panic rising in his throat. The leader of the mob stepped forward, his face twisted with fury. ¡°This boy here is a servant of the devil! The creatures that come here every night are angels, sent by God to punish sinners who refuse to repent. But this boy? He comes from a family of sinners! Not only that, he single-handedly took down those poor angels! That just shows the devil is giving him power! We shall strike him down to prove our loyalty to the one true God!¡± As the crowd roared with fervor, Adrian¡¯s mind raced. ¡°Are you delusional? The whole world is a wasteland because of those things! If anything, they¡¯re the ones from hell!¡± he yelled, desperation seeping into his voice. ¡°Demon! We shall send you back to the pits of hell where you belong!¡± the man bellowed, pouring gasoline over Adrian. The world felt surreal as the man lit a matchstick, his intentions clear. ¡°Die, you demon!¡± But just as the match was about to be thrown, a sound erupted from the shadows¡ªa mixture of skin ripping, bones breaking, and flesh being pierced. A girl, around his age, lunged forward, her hand plunging through the chest of the leader, tearing out his heart in one swift motion. With a deftness that left Adrian breathless, she cut the ropes binding him, lifting him onto her back. ¡°Hold on!¡± she commanded before taking off at lightning speed, weaving through the chaos of the mob and out into the open desert. They finally stopped, panting as they collapsed against a rocky outcrop. Silence enveloped them for a moment before Adrian managed to speak. ¡°Uh, I know you saved me and all, and I¡¯m grateful, but what¡¯s your name?¡± ¡°We¡¯re the same,¡± she replied cryptically. ¡°What?¡± he asked, confusion etched on his face. ¡°There are four of us¡ªindividuals granted power to save the Earth from becoming the next floor of hell. We¡¯re known as saviors: me, you, and two others. I¡¯ve created a hideout nearby.¡± ¡°Wait, what? I have powers? That would explain all that¡¯s been happening lately,¡± Adrian murmured, trying to process the revelation. ¡°That¡¯s enough rest. We need to move,¡± she said, rising to her feet. They began to walk across the desolate terrain, the weight of their situation heavy in the air. After about ten minutes, a cave emerged in the distance. ¡°They¡¯re in there,¡± she pointed. ¡°But remember, don¡¯t get too attached to anyone ever again. Being a savior means your life, and the lives of everyone around you, are in constant danger.¡± With a shared understanding, they entered the cave to find two other boys already inside. They greeted one another cautiously, but Adrian quickly noticed that everyone besides one of the boys was hesitant to form any connection. The guy named Kamano had been with the group before, but the other boy refused to share his name, insisting that doing so would make them too comfortable with one another. The more comfortable one became, he explained, the harder it would be to deal with the inevitable loss in battle. Adrian understood and refrained from pressing further. Days turned into a blur as Adrian trained under Kamano¡¯s guidance, learning to control his newfound powers. Eventually, he unlocked a somewhat unique ability that allowed him to glimpse into the past. Driven by a need for answers, he decided to see what had happened to his family while he had been unconscious. The vision began as a blur, but gradually, clarity emerged. He couldn¡¯t see everything, but his gaze fell upon a section of the ceiling, where a crystalline rock hung precariously¡ªan artifact that repelled the demonic forces. Suddenly, a hand appeared, seizing the crystal and crushing it into dust before they started making clicking sounds with their tongue and a huge group of demonic slaves attacked. Adrian couldn''t tell who or what destroyed the crystal but in that moment he had made up his mind. Adrian starts crying before they ask him what''s wrong. He gets up grabs a bag full of equipment and food and walk out. Where are you going?, the girl asks. My family, I''m done...you guys can go stop those monsters or whatever, I''m not doing this anymore, im going to find whoever killed my family. Chapter 2 Here¡¯s an extended version of your Chapter 2, maintaining your original content while adding some more detail: --- Adrian steps out and begins walking into the desert, unsure of where he is going or where he will end up, but his emotions at that moment are too out of control to care. As the full moon shines brightly above him, he pauses to take in his surroundings. It''s around midnight. "How long have I been walking?" Adrian whispers to himself, his voice barely a murmur against the stillness of the night. After waiting a few moments, he lies down to sleep, surrendering to exhaustion. As he closes his eyes, he realizes the severity of his situation: he is alone. He has left his allies behind, and he no longer has a family or a place to call home. His heart is heavy with grief, anger, and sorrow. He curls up tightly, and tears begin to flow freely. The release feels momentary until his mind finally succumbs to sleep. He wakes up early the next morning. The sun is out, casting golden rays across the desert landscape. With no other options, he resumes walking, letting instinct guide him. After several hours of wandering, he comes across a city. It¡¯s clear that it has been abandoned for a long time, as nature has reclaimed the area. Trees and various plant life have intertwined with the buildings, city streets, and other remnants of urban life. Adrian enters the city but treads carefully, the weight of the world on his shoulders. He takes out a small knife from the equipment that the saviors gave him. However, he quickly realizes that he is not skilled at wielding a blade; the thought gnaws at him. He also knows he has yet to figure out how to use his powers effectively. With a resigned sigh, he tells himself that there is nothing he can do about it now and continues to explore. As he navigates the dilapidated streets, Adrian encounters multiple demons. Though they are not very strong, he hides and maneuvers around without getting caught, aided by his small frame. As the sun begins to set, he seeks refuge on a high floor of a tall building to sleep. Before he succumbs to slumber, he gazes down at the city. The streets are teeming with movement; from this height, the people below look like ants scurrying about. However, as he squints to see them better, he realizes that those people aren¡¯t really people at all. Adrian wonders what life was like back then, before the invasion. It happened so long ago that his parents don¡¯t even know. Two hundred years ago, two days after it was announced that the human population had reached seven billion, the world changed forever. "I''ve only seen things like the ocean in books and stories," Adrian thinks. "People had different beliefs and all that. It was the norm to travel halfway around the world in a few hours, to meet new and exciting people. I wonder what it was like," he muses as his eyes gradually shut. Clink, clank, clink. Adrian wakes with a start. It¡¯s dark, and his vision is still blurry. He looks toward the source of the sound and sees two dim red dots in the distance. "What is that? What is that?" Adrian asks himself, a knot of fear forming in his stomach. As the reality of the situation dawns on him, his heart races. The demon approaches with a low, menacing growl, drawing nearer and nearer. In the oppressive darkness, he can¡¯t discern its true form. Suddenly, the creature steps into the moonlight, and all Adrian sees is a shadow. Its hair doesn¡¯t reflect any light, giving it a two-dimensional appearance, as if it lacks texture altogether. Adrian pulls out his small knife, preparing to fight for his life. His heart races, and sweat beads on his forehead as he begins breathing deeply, trying to steady himself. Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation. The demon lunges at him, and he instinctively raises his arm to protect himself. It bites down hard, and an unbearable pain shoots through Adrian''s arm. He fights the urge to scream, knowing he must stay silent. With adrenaline coursing through his veins, he throws himself down on top of the demon and starts stabbing at its head. Despite his weak strength, the adrenaline keeps him persistent. He stabs and stabs and stabs, again and again, but the demon doesn¡¯t relent. It releases its grip on Adrian''s arm and steps back. He glances down to see a pool of blood surrounding him, most of which is his own. Panic begins to set in as he starts to feel dizzy and lightheaded. His body turns cold, but the looming threat of the demon quickly brings his focus back to the fight. The demon attacks again, but this time Adrian''s reactions are sluggish; he raises his blade, but his strikes feel much weaker. "Damn it!" Adrian thinks to himself in frustration. As the demon prepares to bite his arm once more, a sinking realization hits him: this might be the end. In desperation, he throws himself on top of the demon again, pressing his knife against its throat. With all his weight, he pushes down on the knife with his shoulder, forcing the blade deeper into the demon''s flesh. The demon''s skin begins to give way, and as the blade cuts deeper, the creature bites harder. Pain radiates through Adrian''s body, worsening with each passing moment. "It hurts, it hurts," he thinks, tears brimming in his eyes, but he fights through the agony until¡ Adrian wakes several days later next to a campfire, sunlight pouring onto his face. He attempts to sit up, but a sharp pain shoots through his entire body. "Hey guys, he''s finally awake!" a familiar voice calls. As his vision clears, he sees the other saviors surrounding him. "What? He actually survived?" Guy exclaims in disbelief. "What¡¯s going on?" Adrian croaks, his voice raspy and weak. "We came looking for you, obviously. It was hard since we figured you would only go straight, you know, since you didn¡¯t know where you were going," one of them explains. Adrian pauses, looking down at his body. A gruesome sight catches his gaze: his arm is deformed and purple, with dark outlines snaking through some of his veins. His eyes widen in horror, and he fights the urge to vomit. "Don¡¯t worry about it; it¡¯ll be fine. The fact that you¡¯re still alive proves that," the girl assures him. She takes a breath before continuing, "But you shouldn¡¯t have left on your own. You didn¡¯t know where you were going, you were unarmed, and you don¡¯t know how to fight. What were you thinking?" She sighs, her frustration evident. "Listen, I know you¡¯ve been through a lot, but you¡¯re not the only one who¡¯s faced hardship. Your selfish decisions impact other people besides yourself. No matter how riled up your emotions get, just remember that all this is bigger than you. You¡¯re not special, so start thinking with your brain from now on. Get some rest." With that, she walks away, visibly upset. "Damn, she''s pissed," Kamano comments, shaking his head. Adrian sinks back into unconsciousness, slipping into sleep once more. When he awakens several hours later, it¡¯s nighttime again. The pain is almost completely gone, and the deformation in his arm has diminished; most of the purpleness has faded. "Awake again!" Guy exclaims, noticing him. "How are you feeling?" "Fine, mostly," Adrian replies, relief flooding through him. "Good! We can''t have you dying so quickly. First thing tomorrow, we resume training." A few moments of silence pass, and then Adrian sighs. "Hey Guy, have you ever heard voices?" he asks tentatively. "What?" Guy responds, puzzled. "I mean, a choppy girl¡¯s voice. I don¡¯t know how else to explain it," Adrian clarifies. "Ah! I know what you¡¯re talking about¡ªthe assistant. That¡¯s what we call her," Guy explains, his face lighting up with recognition. "The assistant?" Adrian echoes, intrigued. "Yep. She saves our lives, lets us break through our limits, and helps us kill demons. We assume it¡¯s a part of being a savior. The only problem is that she is incredibly unreliable and inconsistent. But when she does help you, it¡¯s always a blessing," Guy explains. "You can say that again," Kamano adds, chuckling. "Ha! You were awake this whole time," Guy exclaims, a grin spreading across his face. "Welp, it¡¯s hard to sleep with all this noise," Kamano replies, rolling his eyes. A few moments of silence pass by, and then Adrian speaks up. "Hey guys, what were your lives like? Before becoming saviors, I mean." "Mhh, I¡¯d rather not say," Guy answers, his tone growing serious. "Me neither. It brings back too many memories," Kamano adds quietly. "I see¡ Well, I like to think my life was pretty good. It was peaceful, and I was happy. All this¡ª" Adrian gestures vaguely around him¡ª"it¡¯s just a lot, you know? I had people I loved and people who loved me, but now¡" His voice trails off, a sadness settling over him. "Tell me something," Kamano interjects, "what do you want the most in the world right now?" "I... I want revenge on the person who killed my family," Adrian admits, his voice steady but heavy with emotion. "Okay then, do it," Kamano replies, surprising Adrian. "We never said you shouldn¡¯t. Your duty as a savior is to kill demons. No rule says you can The long night passes and Adrian starts pushing himself day after day training and pushing his limits, every single day, until those days turn into weeks and weeks turn into months until those months turn into a year Chapter 3 ¡°Concentrate harder. The energy is still not flowing smoothly enough,¡± she says. Adrien snaps out of his meditation, groaning. ¡°Uh, can we take a break? It¡¯s been twelve straight hours.¡± ¡°Fine,¡± the girl says with an annoyed sigh. Adrien collapses onto his back, mentally fatigued. Though exhausted, his mind begins to wander, contemplating all that¡¯s happened and how drastically his life has changed from the carefree boy he used to be. ¡°You know, you should be impressed with yourself. The things you¡¯re able to do are basically unheard of for someone with your level of experience,¡± she says suddenly, breaking the silence. Adrien props himself up slightly. ¡°What do you mean?¡± ¡°Well, your improvement over these past few months has been rapid¡ªtoo rapid, I would say,¡± she replies, a slight edge to her tone. ¡°Haha, is that a bad thing?¡± Adrien asks, his voice carrying an awkward chuckle. ¡°No, of course not. It means you¡¯ll be a greater asset in battle,¡± she responds plainly. ¡°Oh¡ Yeah,¡± Adrien mutters, but there¡¯s an unmistakable note of uncertainty in his tone. ¡°Don¡¯t get the wrong idea,¡± she warns sharply. ¡°I¡¯m not giving you permission to get overconfident and pull something reckless. You still have a lot to learn. Speaking of which, that¡¯s a long enough break. Let¡¯s get back to work.¡± Although tired, Adrien reluctantly sits back up and resumes his meditation. ¡°You know the drill¡ªno more breaks. Six more hours, and then we¡¯re done,¡± she says firmly. Adrien sighs but closes his eyes, focusing once again. This time, the energy flows smoother than before. For the next six hours, he diligently maintains his meditation. ¡°Okay, that¡¯s it. We¡¯re done,¡± she announces. ¡°Ahh, finally!¡± Adrien flops to the ground in exhaustion, his breathing heavy. The girl gets up and begins walking away, her presence fading into the distance. Adrien remains lying on the ground, trying to collect himself. Even though this routine has become normal for him, he can¡¯t help but think about his old life whenever he¡¯s left alone. ¡°Working hard, aren¡¯t we?¡± Kamano enters, grinning.Ensure your favorite authors get the support they deserve. Read this novel on Royal Road. ¡°No, we¡¯re not. It¡¯s just me,¡± Adrien replies flatly. ¡°Haha, you¡¯ve got jokes now,¡± Kamano shoots back with a smirk. ¡°Jokes?¡± Adrien raises an eyebrow. ¡°Come on, don¡¯t be like that. The work is paying off, isn¡¯t it? Your Mind Skill is insane. I don¡¯t know why you hate it so much,¡± Kamano says. ¡°You mean Cogniform. Yeah, it¡¯s useful, but it¡¯s so boring,¡± Adrien admits with a shrug. ¡°What? Telekinesis, clairvoyance, telepathy, and compulsion¡ªthat¡¯s boring?!¡± Kamano exclaims, his voice rising in disbelief. ¡°Calm down. All I do during missions is sit on the sidelines and tell you guys the enemy status. Maybe I take out a few enemies here and there, but that¡¯s it. I mean, it¡¯s useful in battle, but still, man,¡± Adrien explains, his frustration evident. ¡°Wow. I¡¯m so sorry you¡¯re not risking your life in every mission. It must be so hard,¡± Kamano says sarcastically. ¡°Stop. You know what I mean,¡± Adrien snaps. ¡°Girl has the ability to gain instant mastery over any weapon she touches, including hand-to-hand combat. Guy can control anything and everything around him. And your ability is literally having no limits! With that combo, the only lives at risk are the lives of regular people¡ªand even they¡¯re safe as long as you guys are around.¡± Kamano¡¯s grin fades as Adrien¡¯s voice grows more heated. ¡°Dude, relax. I get it. Maybe you¡¯re a little frustrated, but remember¡ªyou¡¯re part of the team, and you¡¯re a great asset. And besides, it¡¯s not easy for the rest of us either. My ¡®Physically Limitless¡¯ ability is only useful if I keep working every single day. Sure, I might be able to train until I can lift a planet, but I have to train until I can lift a planet. It¡¯s not fun, especially when people¡¯s lives are on the line. And it¡¯s not just me. Everyone on the team has their own struggles.¡± Adrien sighs, the tension draining from his shoulders. ¡°Yeah, I get it. Let¡¯s just head back.¡± The two head back to the base, where they rest and train as usual until their next mission. ¡°Everyone, get up!¡± Girl¡¯s sharp voice cuts through the silence. ¡°What the hell? It¡¯s the middle of the night!¡± Kamano groans. ¡°Don¡¯t tell me¡¡± Guy mutters, already piecing it together. ¡°There¡¯s a demon attack in the Juko area. Type 1, magnitude 4. Get ready and move out!¡± Adrien and the others quickly gear up and head to the Juko area. A large crowd of demons awaits them, their grotesque forms writhing in the moonlight. Without hesitation, the team launches into action. ¡°Adrien, come to the front line,¡± Girl commands. ¡°What?!¡± Adrien stammers, his voice filled with panic. ¡°Although they have large numbers, the enemies are fairly weak. Lead toward the east. Guy will cover your rear and help if there¡¯s any challenge. Use your telekinesis, and if that fails, do it the old-fashioned way¡ªwith a blade in hand,¡± Girl says firmly. ¡°O-O-Okay,¡± Adrien stutters nervously. Despite his initial fear, Adrien takes a deep breath and charges toward the east. With a combination of telekinesis and sheer determination, he dispatches every demon in his path with relative ease. By the end of the battle, the large horde has been reduced to a pile of withering corpses. After the victory, the team regroups. ¡°Good work. We were able to take them all down with no injuries to ourselves and only two civilian casualties. Now that the job is done, let¡¯s head back to base,¡± Girl says. They return to the base to resume their rest. But as always, Adrien struggles to sleep, his mind racing. ¡°Conversion mode back online,¡± a familiar voice suddenly announces, startling Adrien. ¡°All abilities unlocked and applied. Skills modified. Spiritual skill level now at max. Spiritual skill level has reached level 2¡ Physical abilities unlocked. Greater physical attributes now applied. Physical skill has reached level 2¡ Update now 100% completed.¡± Adrien lies in stunned silence, his mind spinning. Though unsure of what just happened, he realizes his body has somehow changed again¡ªjust as it had once before. The next morning, training resumes as usual. However, Adrien quickly notices significant changes in himself. Opponents¡¯ attacks seem slower, though he knows they¡¯re moving at the same speed as always. His meditation is smoother, his energy flows effortlessly, and his Cogniform abilities¡ªtelekinesis, telepathy, compulsion, and clairvoyance¡ªare more precise and powerful. The rest of the team notices his progress over the next few days but chooses not to comment, allowing training to proceed as usual. ¡°Attention!¡± Girl announces. ¡°I¡¯ll be leaving in two days for a meeting with the Union. There¡¯s been an increase in demon activity targeting the three major cities, and we need to figure out what¡¯s going on.¡± ¡°What? There¡¯s a union?¡± Adrien asks, surprised. ¡°Hmm. I suppose it makes sense you wouldn¡¯t know. SA is a union of saviors. We work together to protect people and eradicate demons,¡± Girl explains. ¡°Oh. I guess it makes sense there would be other saviors out there. I never thought about it,¡± Adrien admits. ¡°I¡¯ll be gone for three days. Guy, you¡¯ll be in charge while I¡¯m away. I trust everything will be in order when I return,¡± Girl says. ¡°Hmm, okay then. I¡¯ll hold down the fort and ensure training and missions are handled as usual,¡± Guy responds. Satisfied, Girl heads off to pack. Two days later, the team sees her off as she departs for the SA meeting. LORE: PART 1 This is not a part of the the actual store, it is more of an explanation and deeper dive into certain aspects of the story, you do not need to read this in order to understand was is going on in the... Maybe The world of hell on earth is set in the year 2211, they entire planet is cover by various kinds of demons that destroyed civilisation so much that the human population has collapsed and could never recover such that only around 100 million people remain. It''s obviously not only humans though, many species have gone extinct and many have had their number crushed There are many different types of demons, many sharing similarities to animals on earth such as: Canines Four legged demons that excrete saliva and have a similar appearance to dogs or wolves Goblids Short two legged demons with two arm and often carry some sort of weapon such as a rock or tree branch, these goblids demons share a similar appearance to human but they are much shorter Sky demons They vary in shape and size but you can usually spot them by having, small horns and extremely large wings in comparison to they''re body These are just to name a few there are 200+ types of demons in this world and coincidentally, demons from different regions have different body types to survive their environment There care classification of demon attacks, categorised into TYPES and MAGNITUDES and they go as follows CLASSIFICATIONS TYPES Type 1 A large, chaotic gathering of demons that form out of pure instinct, triggered by external factors such as loud battle cries, the scent of blood, or the sounds of violence. These demons don¡¯t come together with any specific goal in mind; they are driven purely by their bloodlust and desire to cause destruction. These groups have no formal leadership or structure, and their size can fluctuate as more demons are drawn to the violence. They might tear through towns, destroying buildings and slaughtering civilians, but the demons do not operate with any sense of strategy or order. They are simply a force of nature, wreaking havoc wherever they go. Type 2 A larger, more sustained gathering of demons, still driven by violence and destruction, but this time with the presence of one particularly powerful demon who leads the charge. This demon doesn''t control the group through tactics but rather through its sheer strength and ability to command attention. The mob of demons follows the leader simply because of its overwhelming presence, not out of loyalty or structure. These groups are still chaotic and destructive, but the powerful demon may act as a focal point, encouraging further destruction and violence. While there may be some amount of direction, it is driven by force rather than strategy. Type 3 A very large, volatile group of demons led by multiple powerful demons, each of whom is capable of driving destruction on a massive scale. These demons don''t work together with any degree of coordination, but each of the powerful demons attracts and influences smaller demons to create an even larger, chaotic mob. This type of group is more dangerous simply due to the sheer number of demons involved. While the powerful demons may have some influence over the direction of the destruction, it is largely driven by the impulses of the collective horde. MEGNITUDES Magnitude 1 A single low-level demon, typically one of the least intelligent and weakest types. These demons may engage in destruction on a small scale, such as attacking individuals or small groups, but are not capable of causing widespread devastation on their own. These demons are not particularly strategic; they simply act out of instinct, driven by their hunger for destruction. Magnitude 2 A small group of low-level demons, usually between 2-5, that come together in a haphazard manner. These demons might be drawn together by the sounds of battle or the smell of blood, and they begin tearing through their surroundings with no coordination or forethought.Stolen from its original source, this story is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings. The group may wreak havoc in a small area, but their actions are random and disorganized, and they are not capable of sustained damage on a large scale. Magnitude 3 A group consisting of 10-30 low-level demons or a few medium-level demons and low-level demons. These demons have no coordination but can cause significant destruction due to their numbers. They typically wreak havoc by smashing through infrastructure, killing people, and destroying whatever they encounter, but they do so blindly without any leadership or strategy. The presence of a few medium-level demons may escalate the destruction, as these demons are more resilient and capable of dealing greater damage. Magnitude 4 A larger group of 30-50 low-level demons or 10 medium-level demons. At this point, the group has the potential to cause widespread destruction. The larger number of demons adds to the chaos, and the medium-level demons are far more dangerous than low-level ones, contributing to the overall level of devastation. These groups may destroy buildings, demolish infrastructure, and kill anyone in sight, but the violence is still disorganized and fueled only by the demons'' rage and bloodlust. There¡¯s no organized attack plan¡ªjust total destruction. Magnitude 5 A very large group, consisting of 50-80 low-level demons or up to 25 medium-level demons. These groups are a force to be reckoned with, capable of decimating whole cities or towns. The demons are still acting out of instinct, driven by their need to destroy, but the sheer number of them makes them difficult to control or stop. The presence of numerous medium-level demons adds to their power, and they will tear through everything in their path without any effort to spare. Magnitude 6 A group of 81-100 low-level demons, 40-50 medium-level demons, or 1 high-level demon. While the lower-level demons continue to destroy mindlessly, the high-level demon can lead a more devastating assault, though it still lacks any real coordination with the other demons. These groups can devastate entire cities in a short amount of time. The high-level demon is the most dangerous and will likely be responsible for the greatest destruction, but the rest of the group¡¯s violence is still random and chaotic. Magnitude 7 An extremely large group of 101-150 demons, including 80 medium-level demons or 2 high-level demons. These groups are capable of annihilating entire regions, tearing apart cities, and leaving nothing behind. The high-level demons might take the lead, but their coordination is still absent. The group is fueled by the same chaotic instinct that drives all demons, but their size and raw power make them incredibly dangerous. They will leave behind nothing but rubble and corpses in their wake. Magnitude 8 A vast group of 151-200 low-level demons, 90-100 medium-level demons, or 3 high-level demons. These groups are massive, and the amount of destruction they cause is almost unfathomable. The demons have no coordination or purpose other than to destroy, but their sheer numbers and power make them a force of nature. Cities will be leveled, and the landscape will be irreparably changed in their wake. Magnitude 9 An enormous group of 200+ low-level demons, 100+ medium-level demons, or 3+ high-level demons. This magnitude represents an apocalyptic event. These demons will not stop until they have destroyed everything in their path. They are driven solely by the urge to destroy, leaving entire nations in ruin. While the high-level demons may attempt to direct some of the destruction, the chaos they create will be overwhelming. Magnitude 10 Emperor demon. A type of demon rare in the underworld and even more so on earth. Very little has been documented about them and all that is known is that they are not at all like other demons. They are self aware and intelligent similar to humans, while most demons are more similar to animals, emperor demons can perform complex actions and also communicate. Their power is immense and it''s thought that even the weakest of the emperor demons are equivalent to atleast 100 high level demons CHARACTERS SA Is an alliance made up of 7 saviour groups. Each group has a different number of members ranging from 2 to 4 Each group is in charge of protecting different areas, of an island, the island is divided into 7 main areas, and these areas are broken down into 51 sub areas, each group of saviours are responsible for different amounts of land depending on the strength of the group Groups are labelled 1 to 7 and the group that the story follows (Adrian''s) is group 4 In group 4, Girl''s real name is Mayra, named after her mother''s favourite flower, which is one of the only flowers to grow after the apocalypse Guy''s real name is Nagami, named after his father because he wanted his son to have a long life Kamano''s name has no particular meaning to it Adrian is named Adrian because I wanted him to be ABILITIES An ABILITY is a skill or a package of skills that a saviour unlocks after reaching a certain level or spiritual control Spiritual energy is the energy that fuel the saviours''s ABILITY, the more they use it the less of it they have and the less they can use their ABILITIES Spiritual control is the amount of control a saviour has over their spiritual energy and ABILITIES, the more control they have, the more effectively and efficiently they can use their power Mayra''s ability is Master Smith, she gains instant mastery over any weapon she touches and that also includes hand to hand, if she touches a boxing glove, touches a book that speaks of a certain martial art or even touches a martial artist while they were fighting, she would instantly become a master at said martial art Nagami''s ability is to be able to move anything and everything within a 100m circumference both vertically and horizontally, he is able to move anything from cars and houses to the land, air and water Kamano''s ability is Physically Limitless, he is able to train his muscles to any extent without any limitations, due to this ability he is strong enough to lift multiple buildings, run incredibly fast and jump incredibly high, and since there are no limitations he could keep getting stronger Adrian''s ability is Cogniform, unlike most his ability is a package of skills consisting of: Telekinesis The ability to control objects with his mind Clairvoyance The ability to gain information about an object, person, place or event (is his first spiritual skill) Telepathy The ability to communicate with people using only the mind Compulsion Also know as domination, mental manipulation, brainwashing or mind control, it''s the ability to force someone to do something by controlling their mind Abilities are not equal, In a sense that some ability are easier to level up then others, and this also counts for skills, even if you use each skill regularly, it is not guaranteed that each skill will take the same amount of time to level up and upgrade. Usually the more "impressive" the skill is, the more taxing it will be and the harder it will be to upgrade Chapter 4 The harsh desert breeze pushes against her as she takes each stride forward, but relief floods her heart as she notices a familiar large mountain in the distance. She continues walking toward it, her footsteps determined, until she eventually reaches it and begins climbing. As she nears the summit, she is met by a large hole on the side of the mountain¡ªit¡¯s a cave. She enters cautiously and finds several other people already there, waiting. ¡°You finally made it, we¡¯ve been waiting for hours,¡± a ragged boy sarcastically says, his voice laced with irritation. ¡°Hmmm, my apologies,¡± Girl responds, unfazed by his tone. ¡°It¡¯s fine, let¡¯s just get started. All seven group leaders are here, correct? In that case, let¡¯s begin,¡± a young lady says with a commanding tone, the leader of group 1. "Okay then, as we all know by now, there have been multiple Type 1 demon attacks of varying levels in the areas of Hoshinoya, Xithan, and Winter," she continues. "We think there..." "Pardon my interjection, but why are you telling us this?" the leader of group 2 interrupts, speaking with a condescending yet genuinely curious tone. "I mean, if it''s only happening within three major areas, then the saviors of those areas should handle it, unless it''s a level 10 threat, of course. Why should we help you?" "That¡¯s a stupid question, and you know it," the leader of group 1 snaps back. "Our objective here is to help people, so it doesn¡¯t matter if¡ª" She¡¯s cut off again, this time by the leader of group 2, who adds, "That¡¯s an excellent point, but don¡¯t pretend as if recruiting members won¡¯t put other areas in danger. You know well that, at the current size of the attacks, the length of time you will need aid won¡¯t be short. So, I ask again: Why should we put our people in danger to try and save those who might die anyway?" His narrowed eyes pierce through the room, waiting for a response. ¡°That¡¯s a dumb question too,¡± the leader of group 5 chimes in. "If Group 1 and her team are struggling to fend off these attacks, that means it¡¯s no joke. If they fail to win this battle, the demons will likely spread to other areas. Even if you don¡¯t think it¡¯s your problem right now, it will be soon."This story has been stolen from Royal Road. If you read it on Amazon, please report it "Group 5 is right," says Girl. "It¡¯s likely that an intelligent, high-level demon is behind this, so we need to act cautiously." A heavy silence fills the room as everyone contemplates the gravity of the situation. "Anyway, let me fill you all in on the details. The monster attacks have varied in magnitude from levels 6 to 8, and as expected, Groups 1, 3, and 7 have been handling them, but barely. The attacks seem to increase as time goes on. Group 7 and I have verified the location and status of the demon¡ªit¡¯s a high-level demon that seems to be located in Area Hoshinoya. Although Group 7 and I could go and neutralize it ourselves, it seems extraordinarily powerful. That¡¯s why we are seeking help to destroy it once and for all,¡± says the leader of Group 1. "What? It''s so strong that you think both you and Group 7 could take it out?" asks the leader of Group 5 in disbelief. "Unfortunately, yes," she responds with a grim nod. "But we don¡¯t need the assistance of everyone. I believe that if we had just two more allies, we could destroy it with minimal casualties." "Hmmm... In that case, I think my business here is over," says the leader of Group 2, standing up and making his way toward the exit. The others watch him leave with a mix of irritation and disappointment, but no one speaks up. ¡°I¡¯ll volunteer...¡± Girl says, her voice steady. ¡°I believe my group could offer some assistance, and it would be good practice for our newer recruit.¡± ¡°Thank you, we appreciate your assistance. Anyone else?¡± the leader of Group 1 asks, though her face shows disappointment as no one else offers their help. "Very well then... I believe with that, our business here is complete. Everyone who has not joined the cause may now be dismissed." The remaining leaders stay behind, continuing their discussion about how they will approach the upcoming fight. After some time, they finalize the plan for the mission and conclude their meeting. Girl travels back to their hideout and informs everyone about the situation. "You¡¯re back!" Kamano says, noticing her entrance. "Yes, get the others. I have an important announcement to make," Girl replies. Once every team member is present, she begins discussing the details of their upcoming mission. ¡°We have a mission, a large-scale one at that. We¡¯re going to be in charge of taking out a high-level demon,¡± Girl says, before being interrupted. ¡°What!? A high-level demon?¡± Kamano exclaims in shock. ¡°Calm down... As you all know, there have been large-scale Type 1 attacks happening around the areas of Groups 1, 3, and 7,¡± Girl explains. "That''s the whole reason you had a meeting," Guy chimes in. "Yes... I won¡¯t bore you with the details, just know that we will be fighting alongside them," Girl adds. "Hmmm, I see. So what¡¯s our role?" Guy asks, curious. "The demon seems to be surrounded by an army of weaker demons, so they¡¯ll be in charge of handling that. Our role... is to take out the high-level one," Girl says. "What!? Why doesn¡¯t Group 1 take them out since they¡¯re the strongest?" Kamano asks angrily, frustrated by the thought of being put in such a dangerous position. "It¡¯s not that simple. Although they¡¯re the strongest group, the opponent we¡¯ll be facing requires more than just brute force to be defeated. Our arsenal of abilities is much more likely to beat it than theirs. And because of that, it¡¯s our responsibility to take it out," Girl explains, her tone firm but calm. Kamano sits in silence, and worry begins to spread throughout the team. Despite this, they steel their nerves, knowing that this battle will be unlike any they¡¯ve faced before. They prepare for the upcoming mission, which is only three days away. Chapter 5 "Three days left," Adrian thought to himself, anticipation tightening his chest as he contemplated the upcoming battle. "You''re getting distracted," Girl said, observing his wavering energy flow. "That''s enough for now. That will be all." "Phew... That session was shorter than usual, only about six hours," Adrian remarked, wiping the sweat off his brow. "You''re complaining?" Girl raised an eyebrow. "What? No, of course not," Adrian quickly responded, an awkward laugh escaping his lips. Girl stood up, brushing herself off and preparing to leave. "Well, my time here is done," she stated. "Hmm, what do you mean?" Adrian asked, a hint of confusion in his voice. "I''ve taught you everything there is to know about controlling your energy, both natural and divine. Anything beyond this, you''ll have to figure out on your own," Girl explained. "What..." Adrian whispered, the realization of how far he''d come sinking in. "You should be proud; you''ve come a long way," Girl said, offering him a rare smile before walking away. Adrian sat alone, the weight of his journey pressing down on him. He had grown far stronger than he had ever imagined, yet he still felt a vast distance from his ultimate goal. After a long period of introspection, he finally stepped outside. The night had fallen, and the gentle moonlight bathed the landscape in a serene glow. The stillness of the night amplified his thoughts as he wrestled with his doubts. Eventually, he pushed them aside and prepared to rest for the battle ahead. Adrian awoke later the next day, feeling groggy. "Two days left," he muttered, shaking off the lingering drowsiness. As he stepped out, he saw the rest of the group preparing for the mission. They were sharpening weapons, repairing armor, and readying themselves for the challenge ahead. The sight of their diligence struck Adrian with a sudden realization: the enemy they were about to face was formidable. Yet, despite this, he found himself lacking the motivation to join in. He returned to his bed, his heart heavy with an inexplicable sadness. Overwhelmed by a sense of hopelessness, he drifted back to sleep. This story has been taken without authorization. Report any sightings. "Adrian! Adrian! Adrian!" Guy''s voice rang out, jolting Adrian awake. Adrian sat up, rubbing his eyes. "What''s going on?" he asked, his mind still clouded with confusion. "Get ready; we''re leaving in five hours!" Guy announced. "Five hours? You should''ve let me sleep longer," Adrian mumbled, stretching lazily. "This is not a joke. Get up!" Guy barked, frustration evident in his tone. "I''m fine. My dagger and armor are barely worn out. It''s not like I''ll be on the front lines. All I need is some food, and I''ll be ready," Adrian replied nonchalantly, standing up. Frustrated, Guy left the room. Adrian made his way to the food rations, consuming a surprisingly large amount before finally feeling satisfied. As he finished eating, a familiar voice echoed in his mind: "Conversion mode active... Spiritual skill has reached its max. Spiritual skill level is now 3. No other skills upgraded." "Of course... I hate that stupid voice. It must be the reason why I slept for three days and ate a week''s worth of food. But I guess that means I''ll be stronger now," Adrian mused before being interrupted by Kamano''s shout. "Adrian, pack up! It''s time to head out!" Kamano called. Adrian quickly donned his armor and weapons, joining the group as they prepared to leave. "Alright, the journey should take about ten hours. When we arrive, we''ll meet up with the other groups. They should have already scouted the area. They''ll provide us with entry points leading to the demon''s leader, while they handle the army of lesser demons. As you all know, the leader is a high-level demon. I truly believe we can defeat it with all of us surviving. If the enemy proves too powerful, we''ll stall until the others finish their part and can assist us. Any questions?" Girl asked, scanning their faces. The group remained silent, their determination evident. "Fine, let''s go," Girl commanded. The journey was grueling, each step testing their resolve. Adrian''s heart was a storm of emotions¡ªuncertainty, doubt, and a nervousness he hadn''t felt before. They walked for ten hours, finally reaching the designated location. The other groups were already waiting, ready to execute the plan. "Good, you''re here. Now we can proceed," the leader of Group 1 said, handing over a detailed map. "We''ve mapped the area and identified the safest path to the demon." "I see... How strong is it?" Girl asked, her tone serious. "A formidable foe, but I believe your group can handle it, considering your track record," the leader replied. "So, what''s the plan?" Girl pressed. "As Group 4 heads towards the enemy leader, the rest of us will surround the area, trapping the demons and attacking from the outside in. Given the sheer number of demons, it may take us time to provide assistance. It appears they were planning another large-scale attack on the city," the leader explained. "I understand," Girl responded. "That will be all. Good luck," the leader concluded. Girl nodded, leading her team along the marked path. As they walked, Girl addressed the team. "All we need to do is fight the way we always have. It''s only one opponent, which makes it easier in some ways. But remember, this is a high-level demon. Be cautious. Adrian, stay in the back and support the team. I''ll coordinate from the rear, and the rest of you will engage upfront as usual. This fight will be tough, but we can all make it out alive." "Understood," they replied in unison. The team advanced, passing through ruins and deserted alleyways, carefully avoiding detection. Half an hour later, they reached the demon''s lair. The air was thick with tension, and an oppressive heat filled the space. Suddenly, their eyes locked onto the demon¡ªa towering figure, its charred skin crackling with fire. Its skeletal frame belied the immense power emanating from it. With a murderous gaze, it stood ready, the final challenge awaiting them.
