 Chapter 1 : The Fateful Night

    A peaceful time is flowing across the earth. People are leading happy and peaceful lives. But, everything has changed from that fateful night. A group of dark shadows emerged in the sky and unknown creatures started to come out. They call themselves the "Cavles". They claimed that they were living under the ground the whole time and finally they have come above to the human world.


    As soon as they came, they started massacring the people. Everywhere is violence and violence. People are torn apart and being cut in pieces. Smiling is a mere memory now. Beautiful lakes and lands are filled with blood. When terror was attacking the world in everyways, a light of hope showed up. A man with both powers and techniques to defeat the cavles made his appearance. This man started to perish all the cavles and in a few days, the number of cavles decreased by 70%. But, at the end of the war, the cavle king''s last word was tricky but also threatening as he said he will come back again. But, till now there is no explanation.

 Chapter 2 : The Stepping Stone

    Now, the situation is very good and everything is getting improved. Our main character Noya Bayakurai is sitting in a tree branch near the sea. He is searching for a sea cavle. After a long observation he sensed something in the sea. So, he came down and splashed hard in that spot . Then, a midsize sea Cavle showed up. It was angry and very hungry at the same time.


    It rushed towards Noya and started attacking him. It almost cut Noya''s left hand. But, Noya was dodging every attack. At one point, he kicked very hard in the vital point and the Cavle went a little upward. Without any hesitation, Noya took his best fighting stance and kicked twice in a row in the same spot. As a result, the Cavle collided with a sharp spot of the tree at high speed. As the Cavle was midsize and also hungry, it couldn''t endure the last blow. It blacked out and died. Then Noya came to the sight and started enjoying his victory. He said with joy," Yes!!! Now I also can become a reaper like my father!! Hurrah!!!"

Then the ship started and Noya took leave from his hometown Jossemburg.


    After the ship left, everyone left the port. But, aunt Jane was still seeing the sea. Out of nowhere, her mother showed up

    Jane: Yes, you''re right. But it feels sad

 Chapter 3 : A Ship of Chaos

    After leaving his hometown, Noya started his journey in the participant ship. He found a lot of people on the ship. All of them are here to participate in the Guild Selection Exam. This selection is the largest selection exam. It is held in every 5 years. People all over the country, train and study hard about the Cavles and how to defeat them. When they''re ready, they wait for this selection exam. Every participant must be 15 to 20 years old. In thousands of competitors, only the promising 60 fighters are chosen. Those chosen become the members of the Reaper''s Guild. This exam takes place in 5 different locations. Those are Know-Out City, Cock-Cross City, Opera High, Samuel Park and War Castle.


    Noya''s selection will be in the Know-Out City. With a smile, Noya asked the ship captain where they would arrive at the location. The captain replied with a smile, when they will arrive, it will be morning and from there Noya has to take a bus which will go to the main arena. Noya thanked him. Then Noya started exploring the other competitors. Most of them were busy preparing themselves. Noya then asked a participant why he was taking the exam. But, he replied with anger, "Get lost, kid!". Most of them were older than Noya, maybe they failed the last selection. But, that didn''t matter to Noya.

    After a couple of moments, Noya saw a strange man with a hat. He asked the strange man why he is taking the exam. He replied, "For nothing! Just out of curiosity". Noya was shocked but then Noya replied, " My father was an honorable and brave fighter of the Reaper''s Guild. He left me at my aunt''s house and carried out his missions for the guild. That''s why I want to be a member of the Reaper''s Guild" Hearing this, the strange man stared at him.


    Noya: My name is Noya Bayakurai. What''s your name?


    Strange man: It''s Kenma Kenjo


    In the meantime, a small group of thieves were planning to steal other people''s properties in the dead of night.

 Chapter 4 : Kenma The Reaper

    The thief laughed high after showing a real bomb in his hand. But, as soon as he stopped, a giant sea Cavle showed up from behind and tore apart his body in 3 pieces. It also ate other thieves alive in front of Noya. Blood of them was raining on the fighting sight. After hearing this massive chaos, everyone woke up and rushed to the spot with their swords,bows and arrows etc.


    The Cavle was happy to see everyone and threatened that he will kill everyone here. As the Cavle was huge, the captain of the ship commanded every competitor to defeat it together. All of them took their best fighting stance and started attacking with every weapon and resource (Sword, knife, arrows and bows, combat etc). But, the Cavle didn''t get a single scratch. With its continuous blows, all of them were seriously injured, many started to retreat. The Cavle got one victim in his hand. When it started to consume that victim, Noya rushed and punched hard in the stomach of the Cavle. As a result, the victim got free from the Cavle. But, the Cavle became very angry at Noya and said, "You little brat punched me? You don''t have any right to stay alive!" It rushed towards Noya with a huge blow but Noya managed to dodge it.


    But, the Cavle didn''t stop, it continued its attacks on Noya and Noya was also dodging every attack as he understood how it usually attacks. Then, Noya again punched the Cavle and also kicked twice in the leg. But, it helped the Cavle to get even angrier.  Chapter 5 : The Guild Selection Exam

    After Noya left the port, he then took a bus to reach the exam arena, his dream. After an hour, Noya reached the exam hall where selection will be held. There was a huge entrance gate. Seeing the gate, Noya bursted with excitement and said, "I''m very close to becoming a reaper!" He opened the gate and went inside. There are 600 competitors preparing and training for the exam. Noya was exploring everyone and suddenly one of them asked


    Boy: How''s your preparation?


    Noya: It''s great!


    Boy: My name is Shin Kiwa. What''s yours?


    Noya: It''s Noya Bayakurai from Jossemburg and I''m only 15

    Many of the competitors started losing their confidence and will to be a reaper. Many tried to cheat but the examiners threw a knife at their table and eliminated them. Many were blacked out, they were eliminated. An environment of terror was haunting them. Someone screamed high and the remaining started to scare. But Noya and Shin didn''t scare a bit, rather they focused on the questions. Noya answered 2 out of 15 questions. When Noya was about to ask someone, "What''s the answer?" Someone stood up and said, "I have finished my exam, Mr. Son". Everyone was shocked. Then, Mr. Son smiled a little and said, "Looks like nobody expect that anyone can pass this exam. Heh! Heh! Heh!"

 Chapter 6 : Meaningless Exam

    After a while, one of the competitors tore his answer sheet into 4 pieces and said, "This exam is meaningless." Seeing this, most of the competitors were doing the same. But, I and Shin weren''t tearing our answer sheets. But, then Shin also tore his answer sheet into 4 pieces. Then I started thinking about it that everyone is tearing apart their answer sheets in 4 pieces and not only that, Shin has also done that. So, maybe the answer is tearing your answer sheet in 4 pieces? I decided to tear my sheet. As soon as I did it, Mr. Son said, "You all Pass. Now, move on to the next stage."

When it was reduced, I opened my eyes and found a new place instead of the park. Everything has changed. The park became violet coloured and there were walls everywhere.


    Then, Mr. Son said, "Here you will undergo the 3rd stage and as you can see, everything around has changed. If I say more specifically, you are standing in a Maze. Here you have to reach the finishing line and you will have only 1 hour 10 minutes. As you can see, 60 passed the 2nd stage. You all 60 can team-up with others if you want. To team-up, you will get 5 minutes.


    I went to Shin and asked if we could team-up. Shin agreed. Then Shin asked if he could add Nanami also. I agreed and Shin went to Nanami and asked if he could team-up with us. But, Nanami declined and said, "I won''t team-up with you guys. You don''t interest me at all, get lost!" Shin angrily regretted his decision to team-up with a guy like Nanami. Shin came and said to me what Nanami said. But, I said, "It doesn''t matter."


    After 5 minutes, Mr. Son told us to prepare for the test. Everyone prepared them. Then, Mr. Son signaled us to start. All teams and individuals started. All of them were trying to find the finishing line. Mr. Son said, "They think it''s all about finding the finishing line which is easy but they have to face something unexpected."

 Chapter 8 : Last Second

    Every guard was shocked. One guard said that it is impossible, one can''t finish this stage before an hour. Mr. Son said, " No other member of Kurotsuchi has ever finished this exam this fast. Remarkable indeed!" But, Noya and Shin are stuck with the snake. Shin asked me


    Shin : Is this some kind of Cavle?


    Noya: I don''t think so. It doesn''t look like a Cavle and also doesn''t show species of a Cavle.


    Shin: But, we have to defeat it because the finishing line is there.


    Noya: I think we have to fight it together.


    Shin: Alright, I''m ready


    Then, Shin and Noya started smiling bitterly and rushed towards the snake and attacked the snake. But, the snake was too strong. It prevented every attack having no scratch.     But, as we planned, when the snake starts to think, we are in trouble, we both will land a surprise blow. We both stood up and were going to make a final attack together. But, I threw Shin to the back of the snake. The snake looked back and I rushed towards the snake''s blind spot and punched very hard in that blind spot. The snake was weakened because when you get hit by a surprise attack, it damages more effectively. Then the snake looked at me and when it was about to attack me, from behind Shin jumped and kicked at the center of the snake''s head. It couldn''t endure two heavy surprise attacks in a row. As a result, Noya and Shin at last defeated the snake. But, only 10 seconds left now. We ran very fast to the finishing line and finally we reached the finishing line in the last second. As the time is over, Mr. Son congratulated us and said, "Those who have made it this far have passed this test. Now, move on to the last stage. All 15 players are now eligible to enter the 4th stage."  Chapter 10 : Fight! Fight! Fight!

    Mr. Son summoned a huge bear. He asked Nanami, "Are you ready?" Nanami replied,"Yes". Then Mr. Son signaled, "Begin Nanami!". Rapidly the bear rushed towards Nanami. But Nanami was very calm. When the bear reached him and was about to start landing its heavy blows. Nanami calmly prepared his hand and crushed it to the chest of the bear and separated the heart from it and pulled it outside.


    Other participants were surprised to see this. Mr. Son said to himself, "So, Nanami can use Sasis Power." Then, he announced , "Nanami Kurotsuchi, you have passed the Reaper test. Congratulations! Now you are a reaper." Then I (Noya) stood up and asked Mr. Son," Why he will not fight anymore?" Mr. Son replied," It''s my decision, not yours." But, he spoke to himself that if Nanami fights with other participants, they may die.


    Then Mr. Son said, "Next fight, Shizuku Matsumoto vs Violet Stark. Begin!" They began the fight. Two of them fought very well. Violet Stark was about to lose, then she said, "I''m not gonna lose that easily''. She punched Shizuku very hard . Then, Shizuku spoke up and said, "I''ve tried very hard to get here and I will win this." In the last second, Shizuku pulled off a deadly blow on Violet. Thus, Shizuku won.Mr. Son congratulated Shizuku.

I again declined and said, " I struggled very hard in this exam, I injured myself. You can''t beat me." Then he shockingly went over to Mr. Son and said, "I lost". Mr. Son smiled a bit and announced, "Noya won."

 Chapter 11 : End of The Beginning

    When Mr. Son was about to announce the rules and regulations of the 2nd round, men from headquarters interrupted and said, "You can not continue this exam" They also added, "Mr. Son, you have continued this fight till 1st round but that''s enough. If we can''t stop you right now, then we will face hard punishments from the 3rd Kirigaya Rei." I heard that name for the first time, I never knew the name before. Now, Mr. Son can''t speak up. There were 3 men who came here from headquarters.


    Then Mr. Son explained it to us. He said," I took this fighting test to see what you are able to do, how much potential you have, how strong your fighting spirit is and how much you have put in the line to be a reaper. What you have heard is true.And I think you all have understood what really happened. I wasn''t to take your fighting test. But, I''m sorry to continue this test of yours. From now on, all 15 participants who survived and gathered here are officially reapers. It means, those who have lost in the first round of this fighting test, also became reapers. Congratulations!"  Chapter 61 : Eye Patch

I was running with fear. I saw more terrifying things and at the end, I saw a Cavle eating Shizuku stiffed. I became more scared seeing it.


    That dream ended and I woke up and saw Shizuku next to my bed. Moments later Shizuku also woke up and asked, Noya, are you alright? I replied yes, I¡¯m fully fine. After a while, I realized my left eye was covered with an eye patch. Shizuku was silent. Then Masaki and Kenma sensei came. Masaki said, you have unlocked a new eye and we don¡¯t have any info about it. Kenma said, you have unlocked a new power but we have no information on what it is.
