《Places, Attempts and Inspirations - Poems》 1 - Setting and Harken Setting I never used to write even a line of poetry. In fact, I would go in the other direction: avoid it unless there was no escape. Then one evening I saw a programme about a poet from Wales. Hearing one of his poems - and the music that accompanied it - generated a song that would not stop until I sat down and wrote a poem that very night. A poem called Hallencoly Hill that became part of the collection known as Dances, Towers, Hills and Skies. But there were some poems not included in the first book; that, combined with others from that time, This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. Lets Begin :) Harken Harken not to the sleep of end, Nor to the life that does not mend Wander near, yet not too far. To the bounds where the Pied Rattlers are. All can be lost. Yet more can be gained. Isn¡¯t that what they tell you; Those who have played the game. Listen to the One who knows unimaginably more than you. Seek his Counsel. His Wisdom. His Grace and Comfort. Seek Him First and Seek Him still. And do not fear, for He seeks after You. 2 - Horizons A horizon was taken. A horizon was lost. Not by my past, but Progress, Dear One. But there will be others, my heart says; Others that are grander, Others wider and more beautiful still: To the Horizons new and Horizons yet to come; Each one more breath-taking than the last. 3 - Paths, Crossroads and Choices Oh, for the month of indecision. Of crossroads, five-ways and roundabouts; Where one route seems as good as the other, Where one path does not sing louder than the rest. What shall I do? The voice says, What choice shall I make that will reverberate for months to come? Does this happen to others? This novel''s true home is a different platform. After a night¡¯s sleep; But don¡¯t leave it forever, Or it will become a weight around your neck. So close your eyes, Take a breath, Reopen your eyes and take the First Step. That''s all, That''s necessary on the Journey to Decision. 4 - Call, Breadth and Fluff Call You have been under this tree long enough; Secure in its shade, Whilst the clouds beyond the mountains call. Someone unexpected, Someone much better, Someone who gives, as well as takes, Someone who¡¯s really interested in you rather than as an Attention-filler; Someone who your mind blows and with whom you have far to go.
