《Reincarnated in Marvel with The Strength Force》 1 Prologue - Wishes and Intimate Relations...with the ground Slowly opening my eyes, I looked at my surroundings. Well, I would be looking at my surroundings if it weren''t for the cocoon I was currently being embraced by. But nonetheless, I let out a simple laugh, knowing my wishes were coming true as I also felt my body being burned alive. Now, I know most people wouldn''t laugh at this but I knew what was causing this, so the pain was much lesser than my joy and excitement. Now before you go gallivanting about, wondering if you''ve missed something, let me explain what happened. I died. Simple, right? Hit by a truck and splat! There was a little bit of me over here and a small puddle of me over there...and you might be wondering how a truck can do that to a person and all I can is...I don''t exactly know. All I do know is that it was painless, was over in a few seconds and then I found myself in a white room, sitting across from an angelic beauty. Who also happened to be an angel, well, she self-proclaimed she was an angel despite not having any wings. But I let it slide when she said: "I need a representative in a specific universe. You''ll be part of sort of propaganda run for the Angel Faction, so I''m going to gift you some wishes and transmigrate you as a half-Angel to this universe. This is non-negotiable and I won''t take no for an answer!" I remember thinking she was a bit of an idiot. Like seriously, who would give up the opportunity to be reincarnated with the prior chance to get some powers because of wishes? Well, whoever would definitely wasn''t me because I took that offer straight away. Even if I had some restriction placed upon me, even if I was a soldier in a war, I''d still take this offer as it would give me what I wanted, what I deeply desired; Power to live out a life I wanted. Anyway, let''s skip the boring dialogue, okay? I agreed and found out I had the 6 wishes but if I wished for an especially potent power or ability, I would have to spend multiple wishes to obtain it. I also found out I would be sent to the Marvel Universe. Which one, I didn''t know, but that didn''t stop the feeling of excitement from bubbling up from within me. But nonetheless, I kept a serious face. Understanding what she was telling me, I made my first wish - I want the Strength Force from DC. It originally cost 2 wishes as it was the source of a concept but I modified it further so it cost one more wish. What was my modification, you ask? It was as such: I wish for the Strength Force but I wish for it to not turn me into some grotesquely muscular person and for the rock formations the power gives when activated to look more like plate metal armor than a random cluster of rocks. But I want it to keep all its original powers. You might be wondering why those small tweaks require an entire wish but all the Angel told me was that she''d have to change the power from the base upward and that alone was worthy of a wish. I understood her point of view and refrained from getting pissed at my literal guardian angel. My second wish came quickly after my first, and it was to make sure I wasn''t purely a muscle-brained idiot in my next life; I wished for the Sage Force. I knew the different forces could co-exist in the same body, so why not capitalize on that goldmine. You might be wondering why I didn''t get the Speed Force, and that would be a valid question but in a world such as the Marvel-version of Earth, mutants like Professor X who were immensely powerful telepaths were incredibly dangerous and I needed some way to protect myself against mind-related powers. Cue for the Sage Force to enter the fray! This power would not only make me a super-genius but would also give me telepathy and telekinesis to keep myself safe from the same powers. It was a definite must-have for someone who wanted the power to do what he wants. Raw strength isn''t always the best solution, albeit being the easiest one, but you''d be hard-pressed to find a situation where super intelligence couldn''t figure a way out. The Angel back then seemed happy with my decisions so far and eagerly awaited my last wish. I saw to it that I didn''t keep her waiting as I was just as eager to enter my new life. I wished for my half-angel bloodline to be from an Angel of War and Combat so my strength wasn''t below a pure angel. The Angel''s face froze for a second before becoming surprised at my wish, when she asked why I wished for this, I simply replied with: I''ll need all the strength I can get and if the bloodline from my Angel side can give me a warrior''s instincts, talents, and mentality, I''ll survive easier in this world you''re sending me to. She said she couldn''t give me the best - I only had a single wish left, after all - but I would get one which would increase my chances of survival while also complimenting my chosen powers. After this, she brought up a screen and let me customize my future appearance. There were some things that had to stay the same, like me having red hair and eyes due to my bloodline and my age (which would be 15). Other than that and I had free rein. So I made a body I could proudly be in. I made it perfect in all the right ways, or should I say big in all the right ways? Anything after that was actually pretty blurry in my mind and now we''re back where we started: I''m in a cocoon, a flame/fire burning me alive. Soon I felt the cocoon fall away but before I could rejoice in my freedom and the power I felt pulsing through my body, I saw the ground approaching incredibly quickly. Well shit-- *BAAAANG!* My body hit the ground letting out a colossal boom of sound while cracking the surrounding ground, a crater formed around my body which had been buried in an almost comical way as it left a me-shaped hole. I felt pain and my vision was slowly blackening. I heard a few helicopters but I didn''t care, the stars floating around my head and the elation from the fact I survived the fall, clogging up my mind. With one last thought on my future, my conscience finally slipped from my grasp and everything went black. 2 Waking up POV - Natasha Romanoff (3rd Person) Looking down at the boy in front of her, even Natasha''s cold personality couldn''t stop her from feeling that the boy was approachable, like a warm campfire on a dark, cold night. But her training soon kicked in and brought her back to her indifferent viewpoint. She studied the kid in front of her if you could call a 6''4", muscular bodied Adonis, a kid. Shaking her head, she focused in on his features. His red hair looked as red as blood but seemed to shine like a fire on his head. His tan skin made him look as if he were made from bronze and put together with his muscular and tall body made him seem like a bronze soldier made to fight. But he didn''t give off an intimidating aura, Natasha could just feel that he was a fighter. Call it intuition but she knew this boy in front of her was a natural warrior. Different from her who was made into one. But the most stunning thing about him would have to be his appearance. Despite not feeling any lust for the boy, due to her training and overall numbness to the opposite sex, she could tell that he was objectively attractive. His masculine features were something slightly otherworldly and from what she''d heard from Fury, he really did seem like an angel from above. But there was still some definite immaturity to his looks which was why they assumed he was a teenager. If only she knew she wasn''t far off. Suddenly, movement from the boy instantly made Natasha put her guard up and pressed a button on her wrist which seemed to send a signal off to someone. POV - MC (1st person) Slowly, I opened my eyes. Feeling the same thing I felt earlier; a sort of drowsiness that made me confused about my surroundings. But my senses started to clear up immediately as I remembered where I was; in the Marvel Universe and the last thing I remembered was my first intimate relation with the ground and the rocks and dirt which it was made up of. My eyes widened as I felt something securing my wrists to whatever I was lying on. I flexed my muscles and strained my new body to see if I could break the metal. Surprisingly, the metal groaned slightly but other than that, it didn''t budge or even move. I felt a source of strength flowing from my heart to my body. I instantly knew this was the Strength Force and I knew I could call on it to strain the chains more. But a source of knowledge and intelligence in my head told me that no matter my strength, I''d be hard-pressed to break from the chains currently holding me. I don''t know exactly how, but using the source in my head, I scanned the restraints and found that it was nigh-invulnerable. My knowledge of the Marvel Universe told me that it could be one of the Uber Metals that existed in the said universe, and if it was, I needed whoever had captured me to be a good person or I was about to become a lab rat... Luckily, a voice spoke out, surprising me and making me jump slightly upward. The resulting force from my body falling back down to the bed caused the metal to groan as if I weighed an unnatural amount. But I didn''t notice this as I was too busy staring at the person who spoke. "It''d pretty surprising that you can even make that metal groan...I''ve seen bigger guys strain it without so much of a squeak from the metal...you''re stronger than you look, I guess?" her voice was genuinely curious while holding up a facade of playfulness which I''d be willing to ignore. Why would I be willing to ignore that she was faking her flirtation? Because she was incredibly beautiful, that''s why! A redhead who was about 5''7" with a curvaceous and toned figure. Her skin was a pure white without any blemishes and her gem-like blue eyes seemed to stare holes into me. Her face was both gentle-looking and cold which gave off an especially potent beauty. Her soft-looking, juicy lips were spread in a small grin as she saw me gawking at her but my shamelessness was so high, I didn''t even get embarrassed, as I just thought that someone so beautiful should be...appreciated? I guess. But her beauty wasn''t the only reason I was stunned it''s because I knew who she was. She was Black Widow! Natasha Romanoff, the best spy in S.H.I.E.L.D! Just being in front of someone like her was enough to put a nerd like me on my ass. "Hmm? Stunned by my beauty? Well, sorry to say hot stuff but I don''t date men I meet through business~" she winked at me before standing up and walking over to the door, before turning around once more, "Plus, I think you''re a bit too young for me..." there was a subtle sadness in her voice which made my heart ache for her, for some reason. I knew it wasn''t because she couldn''t date me - I''m not that narcissistic - it seemed like she remembered something which hurt her deeply when she spoke to me. Unknown to me, however, Natasha felt a bit too comfortable around me for her own good. Well, that''s what her training told her anyway. When she saw my warm, blood red eyes looking at her, she felt a calm feeling pervade her body. This sort of situation had only ever happened between her and another person once before, and it hadn''t ended well. Especially for the supposed-cold spy who was heartbroken by what happened. Anyway, back to me, we''ll find more out about Natasha in the future. I watched as the somber redhead left the room with a curious look on my face. But I soon focused my attention elsewhere as I figured out what I was going to do. I was obviously in S.H.I.E.L.D, Black Widow being here was an obvious sign. Second, I was viewed as a slight threat but also a potential ally, it was up to me to play my cards right. Play them wrong and I think I might have to break my way out of the base...somehow... I looked down at my hands which were attached to the bed''s railings on either side of me. I closed my eyes and once again brought forth the Sage Force, letting it scan the room I was in. When I tried to scan past the room, I felt my powers being blocked. The blocking couldn''t fully block my powers but whatever images I could get from the outside were incredibly blurry. Figuring I could test something out, I used to Sage Force to split my mind into two halves, making two equally intelligent halves of myself. Both were me and I was both of them....I know, pretty confusing, right? But in layman''s terms, this allowed me to think of two things at once, so pretty much multi-tasking. I think it''s called Parallel Processing. Sadly I couldn''t split my mind any further. Oh well, two should be enough for now. I had one work on surveying the room and the strength of my bed. If it was weaker than the restraints, I could rip the restraints off of the bed before making my escape. While I had the other work up back-up plans and ways I could get these restraints off through diplomacy instead of brute strength. And so I went, thinking about two different things at the same time. It was quite a marvelous feeling if I''m gonna be honest. It felt like my mind was so unnaturally clear, that when compared to my old mind was like the difference between heaven and earth. (A/N - Had to fit a Chinese Novel saying in, I just had to...) After a while, I figured out the bed was indeed weaker than the restraints, and I had worked up a few plans on how to use my good looks and charisma to get out of the restraints. But seeing as no one had come into the room yet, I decided to go with plan A; Raw Strength. If you''re wondering why I''m doing this and not just waiting for a S.H.I.E.L.D worker to come to my room, it''s because I have a faint feeling I''m being tested. Plus the fact that I found multiple cameras, mics, and sensors placed around the room with my weird-form of telekinesis. I opened my eyes and pulled from the source in my heart, flooding my body with reddish energy. My control was terrible, so it did everything it could when it went through my body. It made my body denser, tougher, slightly bigger and much stronger. The elation it filled me with was almost maddening and I instantly started to pull at my restraints. What greeted me was the previous groaning but at a much higher level. But the bed I was on was creaking and a high-pitched screech came from it, signaling the warping of metal. Meanwhile, I could feel my heart speeding up and pumping more of my enhanced blood around my body along with the energy. The influx of power almost made me want to let out a mighty roar but due to my circumstances, I wanted to avoid that so I tried to keep my inner primal side inside of me. After a few minutes of this, the restraints finally tore through the bed and I fell to the floor in exhaustion. Through deep, and fast breathes, I promised myself that I would train my endurance and control to be better with this energy as I could feel I hadn''t even uncovered the tip of the iceberg for both of my considerably overpowered powers. But suddenly, a slow clap brought my attention to the side of me. Seeing who it was, I could only close my eyes to stop my annoyance from bursting out. Well, shit. (A/N - Little bit of extra information, the MC''s Force powers have been limited when compared to their true strength. He can work his way up to their maximum strength but it''ll require training and whatnot. Still, he''s already incredibly powerful, he just needs training. His Angel side hasn''t been shown yet, but what do you think it''s gonna be? and what would you like it to be? This isn''t me taking suggestions, I already know who his bloodline is from, just want some interaction with my Readers~ I''m not sure on what I''m gonna do with Black Widow but it falls into three categories: Close Friend, Mother-like figure and potential Lover. I''m more inclined to do the first two as the last one wouldn''t really work with how Natasha is....Oh well, I''ll figure something out~ And last but not least, he won''t be a dog for S.H.I.E.L.D, so please don''t worry that he will. He''ll get some training, and he''ll maybe sign a few agreements but overall, he''ll be away from all their sh*t. 3 Meeting Your Heroes never goes as well as you wish I opened my eyes as I looked at the figures now in my room. Yes, figures. Not just one which I was expecting. Obviously, they saw me as a bigger threat due to my display of raw power. Who says those with high intelligence make good decisions? Because despite being a (self-proclaimed) genius, I obviously didn''t know how to use my intelligence. "You really are one strong, kid," a cool voice came from one of the figures. He was quite tall, about 6''1" or 6''2", I wasn''t that sure and he had a toned figure despite his obvious past-his-prime age. He was bald and had an eye-patch over his left eye which only added to his calm, confident face to put out an intimidating pressure. He walked over to me and dropped a key into my hand. I looked up at him in a confused manner, only to hear him chuckle at me, "I never wanted to keep you prisoner, just wanted to see how you''d react. Didn''t expect you to destroy a perfectly good bed, however..." he clicked his tongue before chuckling again and walked back to the group of three who came with him. I quickly took the key and unlocked the chains from my body, before throwing them on the floor causing an audible bang. I slowly stood up, cracking my joints which seemed to feel a bit stiff from being restrained. Finally out of the unbreakable cuffs, I turned my attention back to the figures who surprised me. One of the figures was of a similar height with Fury but that''s where the similarities ended. He was muscular, like a gymnast rather than a bodybuilder, and he stood with posture so straight it was like looking at a ruler. He had blonde hair and baby blue eyes, mixed with his handsome face and good body and he seemed like the type of man any woman would want. He looked similar to Chris Evans but also different. But it wasn''t his appearance that surprised me but the circular shield he currently had strapped to his back and the red, white and blue suit he was wearing which was almost iconic back in my world. He was Captain America. And that same Captain America was currently reaching out his hand to shake mine. I felt like I was gonna faint from the mini-fanboy panic attack I was having. "Good to meet you, the name''s Steve Rogers but you can call me Captain America or Cap," he had a friendly smile on his face as he spoke in a polite tone which surprised me. I kept my guard up, knowing S.H.I.E.L.D would always be scheming but I guess Cap wouldn''t be a part of it, right? Nonetheless, I took his hand in mine, returning his handshake with a polite smile of my own, "Hello, my name''s..." I instantly drew a blank as looked in my head and memories for my name. But I couldn''t find it, and when I looked for other memories such as my past-family, I couldn''t find them either. All that was in my head was information on the Marvel Universe and my powers. Plus a bit of common sense, but that wasn''t the point right now. I couldn''t remember who I was. While I was thinking, I unconsciously let go of Cap''s hand, my face sinking into an expression of confusion. Seeing my confusion seemed to make everyone in the room a bit worried, especially Natasha and Cap. "Are you okay, kid?" Cap looked up into my red eyes, showing his classic personality traits of worrying for everyone else''s problems. Hearing his perturbed tone, I snapped back from my thinking. "I apologize but I can''t seem to remember my name," I let out a small laugh before sporting an awkward smile. I''d come to the conclusion that my past memories had been cleansed to help me adapt to life here quicker. But still....it kinda hurt to know I''d never remember my past family. Anyway, my admission seemed to cause a multitude of emotions. Cap and Natasha seemed to be surprised, while Fury was curious. The last person, however, walked up to me and clasped his big hand down on my shoulder. "It''s to be expected, my friend, you went through the Bifrost in a very unrefined way. You''re lucky you still have your mind, so losing your memories could be seen as a better case scenario!" I looked up at the big man, as I took in his massive figure. He was broad, even broader than both me and Cap. He was about 6''6" and completely full of muscle from head to toe. He had long, golden blond hair and ice blue eyes which radiated multiple things. Strength, confidence, and pride, if I were to name a few. He was dressed in what looked like ancient armor but it also had an otherworldly feel about it - I would know, I came from another world. His armor was black, with medium sized metal circles on his upper body and stomach. 3 on each side, going down in a line, starting at his shoulders and going to his hip level. The top circles seemed to be there to secure the long red cape he was wearing which gave him a feeling of royalty. His arms were covered in little plates of silver-colored metal with each of them linked together to make a metal coating over his arms which ended just before his hands. This was Thor Odinson, the God of Thunder and Strength. Hearing what he said, I secretly thanked him. Though I knew he was wrong about why I didn''t have my memories, it gave me a good cover. Cap and Natasha came out of their pondering and looked over at Thor, obviously hoping he''d elaborate. "Think of it like this: The way I travel through the Bifrost is like how you humans use those elevators to go up and down a building, while this boy, right here," he slapped my back sending me forward a little, "traveled through the Bifrost in the same way a human would if they threw themselves off the top of the building; like a suicidal maniac! Hahahaha!" Thor let out a mighty laugh and he continued to slap my back. Ouch, I think he nearly broke something then... But seriously, he''s not called one of the strongest for nothing, the man oozes the Strength Force. Not in the same way that I''m a conduit for the Force but his body is just naturally that powerful that the Strength Force gathers around him. Not that he can use any of its powers, though. I was brought out of my thinking by another slap on the back and more boisterous laughter, "Haha! What do you say, boy? Fancy a spar with me? You were practically uninjured by that fall and you healed incredibly quickly from whatever injuries you had...I feel that you''d be a worthy opponent!" More back slapping continued. I''m gonna have to stay away from this big oaf. "Hmm, maybe... but first I''d like to get more familiar with wherever I am, however..." I spoke absentmindedly, agreeing to my own doom apparently. "Leave the kid alone, Thor, we need to question him some more...however, if he truly doesn''t have any of his memories, that could prove difficult..." Fury huffed before speaking once more, "Nonetheless, we need to get a read on you, to see how you are up here," he tapped his own head. Great, they want to know if I''m mental or not. "That should be fine, but could someone tell me where I am?" I politely smiled, putting my charisma to the max. I needed to act like I didn''t know where I was or who any of them were, otherwise I''d be seen as a danger to them all seeing as I know all their secrets. Fury seemed dazed for a minute before he realized he hadn''t introduced himself told the boy in front of him where he was. "The name''s Nick Fury, by the way, and you''re currently on S.H.I.E.L.D''s main HQ. We brought you here after we found you in the crater you made...I hope you don''t mind but we did run some medical tests on you," he smiled at me with an annoying smile which annoyed me. Does it matter if I mind? You''ve already done the tests, you damn spy! But to keep up appearances, I politely smiled, thinking of how I could make Fury''s life into a constant string of annoyances. "No, it''s fine, I guess. Just don''t go around giving my DNA to people, please..." I wryly smiled which garnered a laugh from both Thor and Fury. "Don''t worry, we only ran a few tests and before we could do anymore you''re blood just evaporated...you know why or anything?" he curious looked at me, his one eye staring a hole right into me. Hmm...my blood disappeared? Awesome. Nonetheless, I''ve gotta find a way to erase the test results from my blood...Luckily my main powers don''t come from my Angel bloodline but from my Strength and Sage Forces, both of which shouldn''t appear in my DNA. "Umm, not really. Never really had my blood taken before, so I''ve got no idea why it evaporated," I shrugged my shoulders showing I didn''t know why my blood disappeared. Which was partly true. I didn''t know exactly why it disappeared but I could take a guess that it was because of the Angels who sent me here. Hearing my answer, Fury continued to stare at me before turning around and motioning me and the others to follow him. {A/N - Before any of you start to complain/rant at me about S.H.I.E.L.D taking his DNA, what did you think they were gonna do? Leave him be? Bah! You obviously don''t know S.H.I.E.L.D, they''re a bunch of spies who take any opportunity and advantage they can get their hands on, so of course they''d take his DNA! The test results are pretty useless anyway as he''s a half-Angel, a being based off of divinity rather than science. They can just tell he isn''t human. So, don''t go thinking they''re gonna make a clone out of him or whatever. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me in the comments! But try to be respectful, will ya? Nothing annoys me more than disrespectful people~} 4 Conditions I followed Fury, occasionally answering a question of Natasha''s. They seemed like innocent questions that didn''t seem like much but I could tell she was prodding me for any information in my head. "So, do you remember where you came from? Maybe Thor could help you find more about yourself if you know where you come from?" she crossed her arms as she curiously looked at me, her blue eyes shining with ''good'' intentions. "Not really...I have an idea on what I am but other than that, I don''t know anything else..." I had a half-smile as I looked at her, showing my ''innocence''. More questions followed, about what I was, obviously, but I kept it all vague using the Sage Force to make sure I didn''t contradict myself. I also kept a direct link with her surface thoughts, letting me know what she thought about my answers. It was safe to say she was suspicious of me at best, just like a Spy would be. But she didn''t have anything to pull me up on, so you could say I was in the safe. Anyway, we arrived at a small room. It seemed to be an office of some kind as it had a desk, a few chairs in front of the desk and a big leather seat behind the desk. All in all, it was a pretty basic room but from my scanning with the Sage Force, I found multiple gun turrets in the walls, guns, knives, and other weapons under and in the desk. None of which could hurt me but still, it shows that anyone who entered and played up in this office would be taken care of quicker than you could say "They''re dead". "Sit down, we need to discuss what''s going to happen with you," Fury sat in the big chair, lifting his hand to the most central chair opposite him. Taking the signal, I sat down in the chair and kept eye contact with Fury. "What do you wish to discuss then, Mr.Fury?" leaning slightly forward, I cast my Sage Force throughout the room, sensing for any occurrences that would prove disadvantageous for me. I also split my mind once again, using the Parallel Processing to make sure I don''t mess any of this up. Fury brought a cup of coffee to his mouth, from god knows where, and took a sip from it before leaning forward just like me, "We know you''re not a Human, or at least not a full-Human anyway," heleaned his head on his hands before frowning slightly, "So, we need to know if you''re a threat to the world...but due to your lack of memories, there''s not much we can do to test that," he shrugged his shoulders, expressing his annoyance at the situation. I could get where he was coming from, if I was a threat to this world and he didn''t stop me when he could, he''d be ridden with guilt. "What are we going to do then? Keep me here and wait until I regain my memories?" I asked somewhat in disbelief because if that was his solution, I''d instantly kick-off due to how boring that would be. I want to experience this world, not be a prisoner in it. Fury, seemingly reading my thoughts from my face, chuckled before taking another sip of his coffee. "Don''t worry, we won''t keep you locked up here...instead, we want you to live in this world but under the monitoring of a S.H.I.E.L.D Agent. I think you''ll prove to us whether you''re good or not within a few weeks of living on this planet," hearing his proposition, I half-rejoiced and half-lamented my circumstances. I guess this is one of the better scenarios...better than being held captive anyway and I''m pretty sure I could outsmart any of the spies/operatives they send to watch over me. I wonder if I''ll get someone I know about? Bringing myself out of my thoughts, I answered Fury who was looking at me questioningly, "That seems...fair. May I ask who will be looking over me?" I asked with a polite smile, once again trying to use my charisma on the stone-faced man. Fury leaned into his chair with his hands laid to rest at his side on the armrests. He let out a ''Hmmm'' thinking sound before speaking again, "Ah! I''ve found one who would fit you perfectly..." his voice faded off before he turned to Natasha, "Agent Romanoff, how would you like to monitor our friend over here?" he flashed his pearly white teeth at Natasha who went stiff at his voice. Both she and I could tell that this wasn''t a request she had any say over and she had to do it regardless. And while she looked slightly reluctant, I couldn''t help but count my lucky stars. Not only do I get to stay in touch with such a beauty but I know more about her than some random S.H.I.E.L.D grunt, so keeping her off my tracks would be easier. Even if she did catch on to whatever I plan on doing outside in the world, I''m sure I could come to a deal with her. I do have the ability to make a wish of hers come true. Well, maybe at least. I was brought out of my thinking by Natasha nodding and answering Fury''s order, "I''d love to look after him...Don''t worry, Fury, he''ll be in good hands," her reluctance seemed to wane ever-so-slightly when she saw me smiling at her and my red eyes lit up with excitement. Fury clapped his hands together before looking at Cap and Thor, "Now, you two, we need to get a read on this kids abilities, so take him to The Room," Fury leaned fully back into his chair and closed his eye before drinking some more of his coffee. I swear I heard him speak about the coffee being some ''gourmet shit'' in his words. Before I could question it, I felt a familiar force grasp my shoulder, "Come, my friend, let us see truly how strong you are!" the slight crushing pressure made me thankful I was half-Angel as any normal human would''ve needed medical attention by now. Cap, however, came to my rescue, "Go easy on the kid, Thor," he smiled at Thor to which the God released my shoulder with his hands held up in surrender and apology. Cap turned to me, "You okay, kid?" I nodded with a thankful smile, "Good. Don''t mind Thor, he''s just excited to have someone he could possibly spar with...Anyway, follow me, I''ll take you to the testing area," he, just like Thor, slapped my shoulder but it was considerably less hurtful. To my infinite joy, that is. Nonetheless, I quickly followed him and Thor with Natasha standing next to me. While we walked, I internally discussed which powers to use. My Strength Force powers or my Angel powers. After many lines of thought, I chose to only use my Angelic Strength and Body. At least then the results they''d have of my power would be lesser than my true strength. With this decided, I had a confident and excited smile on my face. I couldn''t wait to see where my limits lay. {A/N - Okay, so, he will be monitored by Natasha and therefore S.H.I.E.L.D but there won''t be any superhero stuff during this monitoring. He''s gonna be living life, like going to (super) high school with other (un)ordinary teens. Hopefully, you get what I mean right? Before superhero stuff, he''s gotta meet other teen heroes! For possible romance, obviously. Please don''t complain about the monitoring, however, as it''s the most realistic course of action for Fury to take. Would you leave a potential maniac without someone monitoring them? No, so why would Fury leave a dubious, at best, superhuman without monitoring? Plus it''ll give more time for him to get closer with Natasha. Though I still don''t know whether to have a romance between the two...Oh well. Ah, and it''s been brought to my attention that Uber Metal ( the metal the restraints were made out of) could be misunderstood. What I meant by Uber Metal the supreme metals of Marvel like Adamantium, Vibranium, and Uru. His restraints were made of one of those, he just didn''t know which so I referred to it as Uber Metal to show it was supreme (which is what Uber basically means, or at least one of its synonyms). 5 Tests Pt 1 As I was following Cap and Thor, I really got to do some thinking on our way over to the testing room. I thought in a lot of detail about who I was. Due to not having many memories (none at all, more specifically) I didn''t have any definable experiences to really play off of. I had my knowledge about Marvel from all the Comics I''ve read and all the MCU movies I''ve watched - nonetheless, the latter wouldn''t give me much help unless this universe follows the plot. The lack of memories left me with a much more blank personality than I really liked. I didn''t know whether I liked Pepsi or Cola, or whether I even knew the difference...Nor did I know my favorite food. It was these little things that really hurt for some reason. Like I''d forgotten some small facts about myself but despite their small size, the sheer amount I''d forgot meant I was basically a walking question. But it wasn''t all bad. Because as bad as it sounds, I''m glad I don''t remember my friends or family, as the knowledge that I''ve never meet them again would probably haunt me and hurt like hell. It would also allow me to forge more meaningful relationships with people in this universe. So, all in all, without my personality I''m really being affected by my Angel Bloodline. Where''s my evidence for this? I''m being so patient and polite to everyone around me! Most people in my shoes would go ballistic at Fury for what he''s done to me. He held me captive, did medical tests without my consent and even after all that he admitted that he was going to have someone monitor me, practically ripping my privacy away from me. But what did I do? I just said ''Okay'' and it''s not just me being overly polite...it''s because I think I''m better than them. Like, how you put up with a mosquito buzzing around, only really killing it if it''s convenient to you and what you''re doing. I didn''t mind S.H.I.E.L.D buzzing around me because even if they did, would it really matter? Who cares what an insect does right? But I did know that if threatened I wouldn''t be so indifferent anymore... It was those thoughts going about my head that made me...slightly scared if I''m gonna be honest. Plus my eagerness to fight and the excitement I was feeling right now, even without memories I could tell I was different in a very dangerous way. This sort of arrogant indifference was typically a bad thing, but I...I didn''t want to suppress anything of my new self. I am me, no matter what bad parts are a part of me. I guess not having memories helps getting used to stuff like this then, right? Maybe I''m in some kind of hyper flux of personality traits, all getting mixed together...some kind of defense system for the mind to make an Ego/Personality to reel in my Id/Instincts. Kinda like a kid who''s quickly discovering stuff about themselves and applying it to a personality. As my mind ran through all the possibilities and thought about everything that was happening with my newly forming personality, a small portion of my mind was split off to make sure I could follow Cap and so I knew when we arrived at the room. I continued with my personal questioning and before I knew it we arrived at the testing room. I could describe it in one word; Massive. It must have been a few hundred meters in length and width and filled with a multitude of Gym equipment which had been dialed to eleven. What do I mean? The machines nearer to us seemed to be tailored to Olympic-level Athletes and the further you looked away from the door, the bigger the weights got and more intense the machines looked. Weirdly enough, I couldn''t help but feel intense excitement for these incoming tests. But Cap brought me back from my excitement as he pointed over to the back end of the room, "We''re gonna head over to there to test out the limits of your strength. Then we''ll move onto a few other basic tests for Durability, Reflexes, and Speed. Got it?" he seemed to have slipped into a sort of drill sergeant persona. Guess his time in the army''s showing through when he tests people, huh? Nonetheless, I nodded my head in agreement and walked with them over to a weird looking machine. It looked like a massive hydraulic press and just from looking at it, I figured out what I had to do. It was pretty simple after all. I walked under the hydraulic press and looked over to Cap. He looked a bit surprised I knew how this would work, I guess he was under the impression I wouldn''t know what a Hydraulic Press was, but he recovered pretty quickly and walked over to a console not too far from where I was and looked up at me waiting for confirmation. I looked at him before glancing at Natasha and Thor. Natasha looked at me with curiosity but Thor looked at me with intense interest, obviously wondering if I could indeed be his sparring partner. Thinking about fighting a god made my blood boil slightly...Am I some kind of battle maniac in this life? Oh well, guess it''ll help...somewhat. I looked back at Cap before nodding my head. I raised my hands and placed them on the circular piece of metal which was going to attempt to crush me. Cap pressed a few buttons and I felt some weight in my hands but it felt entirely negligible. Like holding a sheet of paper; because of the weight you knew it was there but it could never strain you. "That''s 2 tons, how you feeling?" Cap''s voice brought me out of my thinking and I''ve got to say, I was incredibly shocked. I was holding 2 tons up like it was nothing...this was purely from my physique and I hadn''t even used an iota of the Strength Force. Not that I was going to, either. But knowing I was this strong without that Force was good to know for future reference. "I feel great like there''s no weight above me at the moment," I felt a confident smile grow across my face as a fire was lit in my gut. How strong could I possibly be? This thought continued to echo around my head, getting louder and louder. Feeling restless, I looked at Cap and without waiting for his reply, I hurriedly spoke. "Hurry up, please, increase the weight!" a slight manic tone entered my voice which Thor seemed to notice, causing him to nod his head like some kind of proud master looking at his disciple. I''m not your student you big bastard! "Uhh, okay, I''ll do that," Cap didn''t expect my change in behavior from my earlier politeness to the restless mania I was currently showing. More weight was pushing against my palms but like before it felt like nothing and only increased my excitement. Seeing that it wasn''t pressuring me, Cap just pressed the button a few more times and the weight increased more and more. After a while, he stopped pressing the button and I could feel a decent amount of weight pressing down on me. But you guessed it, I wasn''t struggling much, if not at all, and I was still just as perversely* excited as before. (*A/N - By perversely I don''t mean anything sexual, I just mean unreasonable. Just put this here so people don''t get confused) "...This is 25 tons. Have you hit your limit?" Cap was looking at me weirdly, probably because of the ear-to-ear smile I had currently had on my face. "Not really...how about we speed this up and add 25 ton on each time? Sound good?" I spoke like a kid hyper from sugar, my blood red eyes shining like two fires. Thor let out a boisterous laugh, "Yes, let us do this, Rogers! Let the boy push himself to the limit!" Thor walked over to Cap and went to mess with the controls but Cap stopped him with a hand on his wrist. "We don''t know if the kid could handle a sudden increase. Maybe his strength is due to adrenaline, you can see how excited he is...if we push him further he might get crushed," Cap spoke with a serious voice as he stared at the Asgardian next to him. Thor seemed to think this over before putting a hand on Cap''s shoulder before smiling, "I know you''re heart is in the right place, my friend, but I can this boy is like me. He wishes for challenges, please just humor him...it may be the best way for him to learn just like it was for me," he faded off before walking over to me, "and if he truly cannot handle it, I will help him. This is safe enough, no?" Cap let out a sigh seeing the near identical smiles on both Thor and my faces'', "Haahhh~ Okay, just make sure he doesn''t get hurt, Thor," "Haha! Of course, on my name as the God of Thunder, I will help this child if he needs it!" Thor slammed his fist into his chest, causing a boom like metal hitting metal to spread across the massive room. Cap sighed again before messing with the settings and pressing the button once more. "Urgh!" My arms suddenly dipped and my knees sunk a little. A slight pain was coming from my arms and back but it didn''t deter me. In fact, my will to push further blazed even hotter instead. I looked up at Cap and nodded once again. He clicked the button reluctantly after seeing my arms dip. The weight was now considerable and I could tell my earlier excitement and adrenaline had clouded my sense of my own strength. Just like how Cap had said. Luckily, it wasn''t purely just that, I obviously had strength to spare. So, this is what 75 tons feels like, huh? Nothing much... Despite my inner bravado, I could feel my arms and overall, my entire body groaning in pain. But this pain seemed to come with someone else - a burning feeling which traveled through my blood. The burning felt like every cell in my body was a caged beast that was rattling its cage with everything it had, begging to be released. A small thought was at the back of my head and I knew instantly it was my instincts telling me what to do. Go further...push further...do it...go further... It just kept whispering that over and over to me, on repeat like some broken record. But I could tell what it was trying to do; It was trying to get me to release whatever was in my cells. It felt like the right thing to do, so...I did it. {A/N - The first part of this chapter was to answer all those people who keep calling the MC a wuss or someone without a backbone. He doesn''t have a personality or any memories about himself, so he''s just going with the flow. Plus, he''s like Thor, someone of Divinity. Why would he care what the Humans are doing? Do you think Thor would care if S.H.I.E.L.D kept track of him? Not really. All in all, it''s to show that the MC isn''t spineless but rather he couldn''t care less what S.H.I.E.L.D are doing as long as it isn''t anything aggressive against him. But if they, let''s say, sent a S.T.R.I.K.E Team after him, he''d kill all of the people who went after him and go to S.H.I.E.L.D for answers. Hope that put some people at ease.} 6 Tests Pt 2 Releasing whatever energy was in my cells was as simple as flicking a switch. One second the fire was inside my cells, being held down by some kind of divine law, then it was out, flushing itself through my body. Instantly I felt the energy burst out of my body, covering it in an aura of red flames. I watched as Thor backed away, a look of surprise on his face, followed quickly by a shocked joy as he looked at something...behind me? Currently, I couldn''t do anything to look as I was currently pushing upward with my hands. The 75 tons was getting progressively less heavy as the fire flooded my body. I felt the aura surrounding my body compressing itself into vein-like lines on my body. When the aura was finally suppressed, I felt my strength get another boost, allowing me to fully push my arms up. It wasn''t that the weight was negligible anymore but it definitely wasn''t my limit to my new found strength. Information rushed into my head before the Sage Force collected it all and put it into an easy to read packet of information in my mind. I couldn''t read it right now because I was doing the tests. I''d find sometime later to read it as I wanted my full attention on it as this transformation was...unique. Looking at my arms I saw the lines crawling around them, slowly flashing between dark red and bright red, pulsating with energy. With the energy came a fervent fever for movement. Nothing specific, just to move, to do things, to fight, to work out, just as long as I did something. I kept my new instincts under control, suppressing them for now as they''d only get in the way, before focusing more on the lines. The lines crossed over one another but each line reached until the end of my fingers from what I could see. I''d have to add this to the list of things I need to check out later. I looked over at Cap and Natasha who were both looking behind me just like Thor was, but they were completely dazed. Why are they doing that? What could possibly be there-- As I turned my head to the side, I realized my shadow''s shape was a bit...different? I quickly spun my head to look behind me and saw something I should''ve expected-- "Wings...?" I whispered but it seems everyone heard me as Thor chuckled, while Natasha and Cap tried to cover up their embarrassment from being so dazed. But I couldn''t blame them as I looked at the wings. Blood red just like my hair, the feathers looked as hard as steel but still kept their beauty. Each feather being identical to the next, making a picture of pure avian perfection. The wings were fully stretched, making me look like a bird of prey in flight. Both of them together seemed to be about 20 feet in wingspan. By this point, I was coming out of my daze and I could feel a definite control of the wings. Like an arm or a leg. But if I was gonna be honest, I had the same control a baby had over their arms or legs. But using what meager control I had, I pulled the wings inward, folding them behind my back loosely. Getting them comfortable, I finally looked over to Cap who was looking at me with a funny look. "Uhh, hey Cap, can you increase the weight once more?" I half-smiled at him, breaking him away from his weird look. He nodded his head while occasionally looking at me with a gaze filled with disbelief. He clicked the button once more and pushed the weight up to 100 tons. The weight was heavy but doable. If anything, I''d say it was a comfortable weight I''d like to use when working out... Haaah~ I''m decently strong if I can think about using 100 tons as a workout... Stopping my thinking, I put on a show of the weight being a bit too heavy for me. I pleadingly looked at Cap, "I think this is my limit, Cap, would you care to bring this pressure off of me?" my voice sounded strained as I practically spat out the words. Instantly, I felt the pressure on my hands lifted. I could feel the now unhindered power, flowing throughout my body. I could also look down and see my wings had torn off the t-shirt I was wearing. But it also meant I could see the red lines spanning across my chest and abdomen. Each line connected in some way and looking like some kind of great artists masterpiece. Bringing me out of my thinking was a feeling I was beginning to hate; pats on the back and/or shoulder region. "Ha! I didn''t know you were a fellow Divine, my boy! To think I''d meet a descendant of the Ancient Angels, I must my Hamingja!*" Thor''s booming laughter sounded just like thunder as he continually shook me back and forth before he brought his hand to my face and looked at me as if a father-in-law inspecting his daughter''s boyfriend, "Hmm...good, good! You''ve even awoken the Burning State, you''re bloodline must be incredibly pure! I must take you to Asgard, the Valkyries would love to meet you!" Thinking about the Valkyries, I temporarily ignored whatever else Thor had said, storing it in my "read later" mental file, and I couldn''t help but feel a little excited...a group of strong, beautiful women - what more could I want? ...Wait. First I thought of my lack of memories about what food I like, then I get excited about meeting beautiful women...Gluttony and Lustful aren''t very Angelic traits, you know! While I was having my internal conflict about my new findings with my personality. Cap and Natasha were looking at Thor acting the way he was, shaking their heads. Cap because he thought Thor''s unprofessional-ism was bad, especially when testing someone. While Natasha was like it because she knew she was probably going to have to deal with the two of them when she was monitoring the boy... After a while of Thor messing about and enthusiastically speaking, Cap finally put his foot down, "Thor, let''s test the kid on some other machines. Then you can talk to him about training him in the ways of a warrior with the Valkyries or whatever, okay?" Cap''s voice which had been friendly and polite up to this point, sounded a bit annoyed and it was obvious he''d had a long day. Thinking of days, what time is it? I looked about for a clock before looking over at Natasha, "Agent Romanoff, you wouldn''t perhaps happen to have the time, would you?" smiling my usual charismatic smile, I walked toward her and Cap with Thor still next to me. Natasha raised her eyebrow before answering, "It''s 6:17pm, why''d you ask?" "I was just wondering...Thanks for telling me, however," I brushed off her question, much to her annoyance. Even if it was the truth, I guess Spies were suspicious no matter what, huh? Soon after this, we went onto the other tests. First up was the speed test. It looked pretty much how you''d expect a futuristic treadmill to look but obviously much longer than your average treadmill. It must have been about 20 meters long, however, it was only a little wider than a normal treadmill. Cap ran me through on what I''d be doing, and I understood the pretty simple concept it would do. I''d get on it and it''d started moving at quicker and quicker speeds, and my goal was to keep up with those speeds for as long as I could. Due to the added wind resistance, I chose to suppress the wings, meaning I lost my new kick-ass wings and also the red line-like tattoos I was growing ever-so-quickly fond with. Anyway, I''ll spare you the details as it was literally just me running on the spot for 10 minutes. I reached about 51m/s which is stunningly quick, well, at least when compared to humans anyway. Cap even said that puts me about 8 times quicker than the fastest human athlete and even quicker than him which made me feel a bit of pride. Obviously, I knew there were quicker people in the universe but still, let me have my moment will ya? And the best part about all of this? I found out my stamina is unnaturally high. As I kept running near and at my top speed for a considerable amount of time when most people get tired in a few seconds from running at their top speed but for me? I didn''t even break a sweat, nor did I feel my heart rate increase by much. Anyway, we moved onto reaction time tests which showed I had the necessary reaction time to dodge bullets within close range and even smaller caliber bullets at close range. The way they tested this was by having rubber pellets shot at me. Each pellet was identical to a real bullet in shape and weight, just not without the piercing potential. Even when some of the rubber bullets hit me, they just bounced off my skin, like they''d hit a metal wall or something. They did hurt, albeit not too much, however. When I brought up the durability test, Cap shrugged it off explaining to me that being able to lift and withstand the weight of 100 tons and shake off the specialized pellets without any harm to my body, was already enough data that they could guess where my durability lies in terms of power. After these tests, and also after they had another shirt delivered to the room so I wouldn''t be half-nude, we walked off to another part of the office building - which we were in when Fury was explaining to me about the monitoring I had to have. ...Smug, sly bastard... --Whoops, guess I have a bit of a temper as well. Gluttony, Lustful and Wrathful. If it weren''t for the feathery wings, I''d be sure I was a demon~ Anyway, before I knew it, we were sitting across from a blushing woman who couldn''t stop looking between Cap, Thor, and I. We were currently getting my documents sorted out. Most importantly, I was getting a name! "I guess, I''d want my name to be..." {A/N - Cliffhanger~ But anyway, if you''re wondering what the tattoo looks like, it looks like this: https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/288934132322898689/ I know Oga Tatsumi is the opposite of an Angel and his power is Demonic but still, it looks how I envision the MC''s power tattoo to look. Even the part on Oga''s face, is on the MC''s, just haven''t spoken about it yet~ Oh and if you''re wondering how the MC looks, just imagine a taller, more muscular version of Oga Tatsumi with red hair and eyes...probably best to imagine him a bit more handsome as well xD} 7 New Identity "I guess I want my name to be..." I stopped thinking about it. This was a big moment and I needed it to mean something. Something I could stand by, never backing away from. As I was racking my brain over this, a word slowly crept up into my head and it came out of my mouth before I could even think about it. "Michael," hearing what I said, I instantly felt the name was a good fit. Kinda rolled off the tongue the right way, wasn''t too long or too short...just right, I guess. Thinking about my new name, I looked to the woman across from me, flashing her a happy smile to show her I was sure about my choice. Unbeknownst to me, when she saw the friendly and warm smile from me, she felt I truly did fit the name, Michael. And not just any Michael but the type who could relate most to the Archangel Michael. A truly perfect male. While I being me, and not having a very solid personality or world experience just took her silence as her wondering if I was sure. "I''m sure I want to be called Michael, so could you please put that in my document?" I leaned forward, putting my hands gently on her desk. Some could say it didn''t matter if you were handsome but truthfully, it was an incredible boon in life. Especially with the opposite sex. "A-ah, yeah, sure, I''ll get that down right now...!" she hurriedly scribbled Michael down on the form she had in front of her. She even made a mistake, quickly correcting it with a red face. Cute. I found myself laughing as I watched her but it wasn''t a malicious laugh, like when you laughed to put someone down. No, it was more of a calming laughter to bring some relaxation to someone, to show them that the situation was a little less tense than they thought. A perfect example is like now - when someone makes a mistake. Don''t go quiet, just laugh at it with them and tell them it doesn''t matter. Anyway, the woman seemed to visibly relax as she peeked up at me chuckling. Once again unbeknownst to me, I''d cemented my image as the perfect man in her eyes. Little did I know that the legend of the Red-Haired Angel would spread among the Women employed at S.H.I.E.L.D. Soon enough she completed the form, with only one box left, and looked toward me, "What will your last name be?" "Uhh, it can be whatever. Just pick one, I won''t mind what it is as long as it suits my first name!" I winked at her, a playful smile spreading across my face. What was that? Did I just wink at her? Is this the sort of person I am?! During my internal existential crisis, the woman entered a serious mode as she started to think of names. While Thor, Cap, and Natasha started to brainstorm between themselves. "He needs something that stands out, no?" Thor sat in a chair that seemed a bit small for his robust frame with a leg crossed over his other legs and his hand on his chin, while a look of deep thought was on Thor''s face. Natasha, hearing Thor, scoffed, "No, he needs an ordinary name to fit in. He''s going to Highschool on Earth, not in Asgard..." she slowly stood up before walking over to the side of the woman brainstorming some name ideas on a piece of paper next to the form. She looked down at them and nodded her head in approval. Cap, however, had a hand on his temple, slowly massaging it, "Can''t we have this sorted out on a different day? Surnames aren''t even that important, I knew a few guys in the war who didn''t have surnames and they were still fine men," he looked over at Thor hoping for him to agree. "Aye," Cap''s eyes lit up at Thor saying this but soon went back to their tired look when Thor continued to speak, "but truly great men have surnames. All the heroes of Asgard had noble surnames, showing their greatness." This little discussion continued on until finally, the woman and Natasha came to a conclusion. "We''ve decided upon his name, so Thor, you can stop stressing your Brain," Natasha laughed at Thor as she looked at him thinking so hard about a surname for Michael. Her admission gained everyone''s attention, even my own as her voice brought me out of my thinking. Thor leaned forward, obviously excited to hear what he thought would be a great name that would resound through the walls of Valhalla or whatever went on inside his head. Cap, just like he had been for the past dozen minutes, was sitting up straight, waiting for this to end so he could go home and rest for the day. Natasha brought up the piece of paper and looked down on it, "We went through a few names but we eventually stopped on one which suits you pretty well, Michael," she playfully winked at me, causing me to laugh it off but internally I was pretty over the moon Black Widow was flirting with me. She cleared her throat and read the name on the paper, "Fortis. It can be translated as many things such as Powerful, Strong, Sturdy or even Spirited. It should fit you, no?" hearing the name, I instantly felt a bond with it. Makes sense, I do have the Strength Force. So, I guess having a second name which means Strong would suit me best, right? "Well, it''s a bit of an odd name to have...but I like it," I found myself smiling now that I had a full name like I was on my way to becoming my own person once again. I stood up and brought my hand in front of me, clenching it, "From now on I will be called Michael Fortis!" Thor stood up and pulled me toward him, pulling me into a headlock and ruffling my hair, "It may not be the flashiest name, but it does suit you, my boy. Well, it will, anyway, as I''m going to train you to make sure you live up to your surnames meaning!" I didn''t resist the hair ruffling, knowing it was much better than having him hit me on the back with his clumsy control over his massive strength. I felt a bond with Thor, like a kindred spirit of sorts. He wanted fights, just like I did. He wanted to test himself, to push himself to his limits, just like I do. He seemed like the perfect mentor for me. "Why are you offering to train him? What if he becomes a threat, Thor?" Cap and Natasha both asked the same question at Thor, disbelief at Thor''s intelligence and wisdom or the lack thereof. Thor simply laughed at their queries, "Bah! You think this boy would be a threat to the world? Then let me ask you, am I a threat to the world?" he smiled triumphantly at the Soldier and the Spy. The two of them didn''t know how to react, but Natasha eventually did, "No, you''ve proven your fight to protect the Earth, but what does that have to do with Michael?" she tilted her head slightly in confusion. "It has everything to do with him! If I teach him, I can instill some proper morals in the boy!" he paused for a moment, letting me out of the headlock before putting a reassuring hand on my shoulder and pleadingly looking at the two, "He has no prior memories to this world and he''ll be lost without guidance...we must strive to support the boy and make a friend of him, rather than shun him and make a potential enemy, no?" hearing what Thor said even I was stunned. It was so like him, yet also so thought out...Damn. I guess Thor can be clever sometimes. "I..." Cap spoke but cut himself off before standing up and facing me and Thor, "...I can see what point you''re making Thor and...I agree," he turned to me before apologetically smiling, "I apologize, Michael, I''ve been a bit of a douche today. I''ve been dealing with some personal problems, so I hope you''ll forgive my behavior and allow me to help train you along with Thor," he slightly bowed his head in shame but he kept eye contact with me. Seeing how serious he was being, I let out a good laugh. ...I think Thor is having an effect on my budding personality... "Don''t worry about it, Cap, I kinda guessed something was up but it''s fine nonetheless, but you better teach me to the best of your ability. I don''t want to turn out weak or anything," I cheekily smiled, catching the man off guard. For the first time today, he let out a laugh, "You got it, kid. I''ll teach you how to use that brute strength of yours!" Meanwhile, Natasha was rolling her eyes before she walked up to the woman and thanked her for putting up with them. The woman said it was fine before hurrying off with the documents to get them finalized and to also spread news of Michael, a real stunner of a man and seemingly also Thor and Captain America''s student. "Come on, you two, Michael and I need to go sort our living arrangements, you can drown him in training tomorrow, I''ll bring him to the training room," she paused before remembering something," but that arrangement can only continue for a month and a half, because he''s gotta start Highschool at that time!" hearing her talk about school instantly put a dampener on my joy and excitement from learning I''d be trained by Cap and Thor. Despite my reluctance, I followed Natasha to get the living arrangement stuff sorted. We''d get a three bedroom apartment with plenty of space so we didn''t get in each other''s way. There were 2 different bathrooms, for starters, no walking in on Natasha getting out of the shower for me. On the flip side, it meant no getting out the shower in front of Natasha nude, so I guess the good cancels out the bad? But I wouldn''t mind it much either way... Stop! These bad thoughts are gonna get me in trouble or something...! Anyway, we were in a car on the way to the apartment currently. It was in a nice part of New York - the real expensive part - but when we got there it was all a bit...bare, I guess. Natasha seemed to think the same thing as she told me we were going shopping one of the days, to help inject some life into the apartment. And after realizing I had a distinct lack of clothes, she said would go out and get me some clothes while I was training tomorrow. Luckily, we found a few pairs of blank white clothing in my bedroom, so I wouldn''t need to stay in the S.H.I.E.L.D trainee clothes. (A/N - black shirt and sweatpants, each with a small S.H.I.E.L.D logo on them. Not canon, just thought it made sense.) By this point, it was already quite late, so after some food and finding out I ate a lot (and I mean a LOT of food) I said goodnight to Natasha before going to bed, eagerly awaiting the training session tomorrow. {A/N - Man, it was a real close call between three names for the MC''s name. Michael (Obviously), Lucifer, and Azrael. But the thing that really pulled the winner out for me was that Michael was the one that most fit that world. Lucifer and Azrael just wouldn''t fit in an American Highschool, while Michael would easily fit in. Sorry to those who are disappointed but I like the name Michael. And for his surname Fortis, it just fits what he is and what his powers are. So there shouldn''t be any problems with that, right? Anyway, credit goes to Macben who suggested the name. Even if he suggested it for the first name, I''m still using it, just for the surname. Ah, and I''m pretty much decided on his Bloodline, so the reveal should be soon~} 8 One and a Half Months Later It had been exactly a month and a half since I fell to the Earth and started being monitored/trained by S.H.I.E.L.D. One thing I didn''t think over too well was the number of times they tried to get me into joining them. Either by tricking me or by begging me. Needless to say, it was incredibly annoying. But other than that, this month (and a bit) had been an incredibly profitable one. The combat training I''d received from both Thor and Cap was indispensable to my survival. The two of them were masters in terms of fighting, having done it for a majority of their lives. But they each taught me different paths. Cap, because of his inherent Human limits - even with the Super Soldier Serum - had focused less on his strength and more on technique. Mixing all the martial arts he could, along with gymnastics and his close-combat training during WWII, made him into an absolute technical fighting machine. Even when up against superhuman fighters, he could still beat them around the room purely on technical prowess. That''s not to say there isn''t a limit to his ability to cross raw power difference with technique, but it''s helped him get by so far. Plus, it wouldn''t hurt to know how to use my immense strength, now would it? Anyway, let''s go onto to what Thor taught me - how to fight with Brute Strength. Also weapons training. We also focused a lot on exercising my body and I''ve gotta say, Thor''s methods are like pushing everything in your body to the absolute brink before thinking "Ah what the hell~" and then throwing yourself over the brink, hoping you don''t die. I can''t even count the number of times I''ve nearly died in Thor''s so-called "Basic Strengthening Method". But when Thor wasn''t killing me, we were sparring with our chosen weapons. What are my chosen weapons, you ask? Well, I have two...three technically, I guess? Anyway, I''ve chosen my main route to be using my arms and legs as my weapons. Not only can I increase the density of them with my Strength Force powers, but they''ll also always be with me. But to keep up appearances, I let Thor talk me into using gauntlets and armored boots. He gave me some incredibly basic gauntlets but they were incredibly basic because they maxed out in one thing; Durability. Apparently, these things can get hit by just about anything and not break. Which was pretty stunning, when someone who could break a lot of stuff told you that. Anyway, those two items counted as my first (and second weapon), the last thing I picked was only picked 2 weeks ago when I found a weird ability I didn''t expect to have. What was it? Well, currently I was using it... I was sitting down in my room, allowing the fiery energy in the tattoos to flow to my palms and into the air above them. The red fire was collecting into two orbs above my hands. Opening my eyes, I looked at the orbs before willing them to shape into what I had in mind. The two of them merged into a bigger orb before slowly turning into a cylinder and slowly extending while getting thinner. The cylinder continued extending until it was a pole which was about 195cm long but it was still a bit too thick, so I collected all the excess fire I didn''t want on the pole and made it a suitable thickness. Despite being made of fire, the blood red pole looked as solid as any other metal, even giving off a slight metallic glint. Anyway, I had collected all of the excess fire and sent it to one end of the pole, before slowly molding it into a blade. The blade was about 20cm long and thicker than the pole in width and its depth was just a little thinner than the pole. The edge and tip of the blade shone with a bloody fury like it was made to cut and reap lives. Weirdly enough, the edges still had a slight flicker a flame would have, making the blade look like it was shifting between being a solid and a non-solid, but it only made it look more deadly. The red light from the fire reflected off my own red eyes only making them more intimidating. An excited grin spread across my face as I felt the heat coming from the spear in my hands. I consciously held all the heat from the spear inside of the weapon, so it wouldn''t set my room on fire. I slowly stood up before twirling the spear around in my hands. The whoosh it made as it cut through the air was like music to my ears. I didn''t worry about my room being bugged as I''d removed all those mics and cameras on day one of being here and I always checked if there were more every night. Luckily, Natasha or whoever put them there got the message and didn''t try to pry too much into my privacy. Looking at the spear once more, I smiled before absorbing it back into my body. I let out a calming breath and the tattoos on my body faded. Luckily, I learned how to activate the tattoos without the wings otherwise I wouldn''t be able to use that power indoors... For those who are wondering, I hadn''t just spent the month and a half training my fighting skill and my physical strength, no, I''ve been reviewing all the information in my brain about who, or rather, what I am. It seems that I had a massive packet of information about my Angel Side ever since I came to Earth, it''s just I didn''t notice it until I really looked for it. The first part of the packet was explaining to me what I am. I''m a Nephilim, a mortal descendant of Angels, creatures which were surprisingly actually a species of Giant. This was why Thor was happy to see an Angel as I was practically Kin with him, seeing as his mother was a Giant herself. Nephilims keep the advantages of their more divine parent, but their form is always much smaller than them. Angels are usually around 25ft+, while Nephilim are like Humans - their height is within human standards but it''s usually dependent on multiple factors. The advantages include Superhuman Strength, Superhuman Dense Tissue and therefore Superhuman Durability. Most angels have Superhuman Speed and Reflexes to compliment their abilities as well. Due to my bloodline, I had these advantages but dialed to eleven. My bloodline was one focused mainly around fighting, so instead of having a lot of the abilities most Angels have, I have a select few which are incredibly powerful. The Bloodline in Question comes from Helios, Angel of the Sun and War. I was surprised when I found this out as I was pretty sure this was wrong. I didn''t know why, just a small nagging feeling at the back of my head. But the information went onto explain that this Helios was different from the Greek God of the Sun and only took the name Helios when he found he could use the fires of the sun during combat. Originally, he was a Warrior Angel who fought and fought, fighting whatever opponents he could find, doing this for thousands upon thousands of years due to his thirst for both power and excitement. He was apparently quite the odd-Angel. Anyway, this bloodline gave me access to some powerful abilities. The main one I just used was Holy Fire Manipulation, along with the tattoos which were called Burning State - surprisingly what Thor called it back when I first activated it. The state opened up all the Angelic Fire Energy in my body, empowering my body and boosting all my capabilities. But these two were pretty much the only abilities I gained as I didn''t quite have all the abilities the Bloodline could offer, not yet anyway. Basically, think of it like this, I''m a Nephilim of Fire and Combat, so it will take quite a lot of time for me to become a Nephilim of the Sun and War which are both high-level concepts. But it''s not like I''ll never get there, I''m already pretty confident I will eventually get there, I just need more experience in the world and fighting. Maybe even learn some magic from Doctor Strange or something... Anyway, the biggest boost I gained from Cap and Thor''s point-of-view was my comprehension when it came to fighting. I''d absorbed all of the Martial Arts Cap had taught me, like a dry sponge soaking up water. Same goes for any of the training Thor gave me. At first, I thought it was solely the Sage Force helping me do this but it wasn''t. It was more like my body was learning it, similar to muscle memory, and the Sage Force was only letting me learn the theory of the martial arts so I could apply them better in combat. By this point in time, I''d learned all of what Cap could teach me in terms of martial arts and I was practically a master in all of them. Not to say I was the best, as I still hadn''t refined my technique through constant battle like most other Martial Masters. Even the information in my head spoke highly about the warrior instincts given by the bloodline. Pretty much saying it wasn''t his Fire Abilities and Burning State which helped Helios survive in his battles for millennia but instead his unparalleled instincts and talent in fighting. Which I seemed to have inherited. Oh, and one more simply ability as well... High-Speed Regeneration. Not to the level of Wolverine where I probably couldn''t die unless I threw myself into the sun, but definitely enough that it made me incredibly hard to kill. Sadly, this ability had been found out by Thor and was the reason my training was so hard... *Knock knock!* Two soft knocks brought me out of my thinking as I looked over the door which was slowly opening. Once it was open, it showed Natasha dressed in a simple black jumper and some blue denim jeans. Living with her for a month really was fun, in all honesty, it even helped prepare me for women in the future with how flirtatious Natasha was. No more would I be a nervous wreck in front of beauties! "Michael, you need to get ready and have something to eat, you''ve got school today, after all~!" speaking like some kind of doting mother, Natasha laughed at my sullen face, "Hahaha! Don''t have such a sulky face, you''ll ruin your good looks, Michael! And what did I say about School not being boring? Especially since there are other special kids there, just like you," my face improved when I thought about that point. I wonder who I''m gonna meet... As I thought this, I stood up and threw off the tank-top I was wearing. Natasha was also used to me by now, so even though she looked at my perfectly sculpted body, she didn''t bat an eye and instead rolled her eyes at me going into a deep think, ignoring her presence and even changing clothes in front of her. She rolled her eyes once more before walking out of the room and closing the door. ''God help the girls that fall for that kid...'' was all that went through her head before she laughed and started making a massive breakfast for the both of them. {A/N - His bloodline may not be what any of you wanted but still, it''s got the right amount of OP when you think about it. High-speed regeneration, superhuman body and instincts, incredible talent for fighting (and therefore killing) and to top it all off, Holy Fire Manipulation. All of these having the potential to be improved as well, so he''s pretty powerful. Especially for a 15-year-old. Just wanna get a heads-up for most people reading, this chapter may have seemed a bit more like a summary than an actual chapter and that''s because well, it was. Last chapter was the end of the Arrival Arc and the next chapter is the start of the Highschool Arc which will have multiple mini-Arcs in it. So this chapter was pretty much an interlude.} 9 First Day Pt 1 I was currently walking to school. The excitement, mixed with a strange somberness I was currently feeling felt like my insides were filled with fireworks. It was weird as it didn''t feel as boiling hot as my excitement during a fight, but it was definitely above the stillness of the sadness I felt when I thought, or rather tried to think about my past life. It felt like I wad fluctuating up and down, never settling on either emotion. Nevertheless, I forcibly settled down these feelings before picking up my pace, wanting to get to school as quick as I could so I could get through the first day. On the way, I went over a few things I wanted to do when in school. First, I wanted to gain some connections with budding teenage-Superheroes who I knew would be more powerful than others. Second, I wanted to actually enjoy the experience of having a high school life. Part of my excitement came from the fact that high school seemed to be a fun place, a place to make friends and even more so to make memories. Whether they were dumb memories or not. And last but not least, I wanted to test my powers against any of the teen superheroes I find. This was what made up the rest of my excitement. It seems my first take on myself was right, I am indeed a battle maniac. It doesn''t make me a rage-filled berserker, however, no, instead it just means I enjoy the combat. I''m more likely to enjoy combat and fighting than let''s say, dancing the tango. But other than that, I won''t go into a homicidal rage at the drop of a hat...or at least, I don''t think I will? You see! These are the kinds of things I wanna find out during my time at high school. I wanna try and find myself when among people who are of similar biological age to me. By the time this line of thought had finished in my head, I arrived at the gate for my high school. The gate was massive. Maybe about 3 meters tall from what I could see, and made from thick metal bars that even gave me a sense of daunting durability. On either side of the gate, there were two walls of a similar height to the gate, each of them going off to surround the school. Taking my eyes away from the gate and the walls attached to it, I looked around me and saw multiple tired teenagers drudging their way through the gate. Some of the more awake ones looked at me with curious eyes and the even more awake ones gawked at me, fully taking in my handsomeness. Where did I get my certainty? Because I knew I was handsome. I was reminded of this every time I went out in public, or when I spoke with women and certain men. Anyway, I guess red hair, red eyes, and bronze tan skin is quite the exotic look, huh? I say this because I know it''s true. But when I brought it up to Natasha she shrugged it off, saying nobody would really be bothered with it. ...I''d like to disagree. As I walked through the dense crowd, I got quite a few looks. Some of fear because of my height and robust body, some of lust because of my overall attractiveness, and even some of anger and annoyance. The last ones were probably coming from those who saw their girlfriends or people they like, look at me with such blatant lust. But what could I do about it? Wear a sack over my head? Hell no! So, I just ignored the looks to the best of my ability before walking into the school. I''d already memorized a school map Natasha had given me, plus most of the material we''d be learning this year, so I was pretty lax when it came to getting to class. Seeing as I had some time, I explored a little before wandering off to meet my first teacher for the day who would help me get settled in. Half-way through my walk to the teacher''s lounge, I had to cut off my Sage Force powers because the absolute filth I was seeing in some of these kids'' heads. Goddamn. I''d taken to the habit of keeping my Sage Force telekinesis and telepathy surrounding me in a 2m round bubble. Mainly so I could see who was coming by me at all angles, and whether or not they came at me with murderous intent, which is why I let the bubble dabble in surface level and slightly below in terms of the people''s minds around me. But when the people around you are horny teenagers, some of them who are even horny for you, seeing anything in their heads is a bit disturbing. Not that I''m some kind of straight-laced, no sexual fantasy type of guy. I just think everyone should try and keep their lustful thoughts to themselves. Because I really didn''t wanna see ''em. So I kept the Sage Force bubble inside my head and would only release it if needed...and preferably when I''m not around my fellow teenagers. Anyway, as I was walking, I found that everyone was slowly leaving the hallway and into the classrooms near them and before I knew it, I was one of the only people in the corridor. Clicking my tongue, I picked up the pace and did a slow jog. Luckily, I learned how to hide my superhuman weight with the gravity powers from the Strength Force, otherwise, I''d definitely be making a lot of noise. Didn''t I mention my weight? Well, a quick rundown would be that because the tissue in my body is so dense, it both contributes to my strength but also to my weight. My tissue is about 8 or 9 times denser than Human Tissue which puts me around 8 or 9 times the weight of someone with my height and build which puts me around...1980lbs or so? Or 898kg which is seriously heavy. For reference, even Thor is lighter than me. Even motorcycles are lighter than me. I have a theory that I''m so physically dense because of both the Strength Force and also the fact I have to withstand the Holy Fire which flows through each and every cell in my body. I always knew I was heavy but I didn''t really find out how heavy until I put my foot through the bottom of a car. It was quite hard to explain. Luckily, Natasha already seemed to know and only didn''t tell me because she was a bit of a teasing older-sister type and wanted something to tease me on. Anyway, my way past embarrassing situations like that is to use Gravity Manipulation to lessen the burden on the ground underneath me by spreading the pressure across a larger area. Kind of like the area surrounding the place I walk on supports the ground I am walking on. It''s pretty simple, I guess. As I was jogging my way to the meeting place, I noticed there was a teenager also running to the same place as me. But he was so caught up in whatever was in his head, he apparently didn''t know he was about to run into a locker. I saw his face when looking down the hallway, and smiled thinking how this was a good opportunity. I sped up, reaching Olympic-athlete levels of sprinting - which was quite a light jog for me - and caught up with him, putting a hand on his backpack and stopping him from being incredibly intimate with the metal in front of him. "Wah!" but, almost comically, his legs carried on running and they simply carried on until he slipped. Obviously, I was still holding his bag which kept him floating in mid-air. He curiously looked back at me before nervously laughing, "Uhh...what are you doing?" "How about you look in front of you and what you were gonna hit?" I smirked at him, mirth in my eyes. It was already gonna be fun if I could be friends with this kid. A good stepping point into the world of teen-superheroes anyway. The kid''s brown eyes looked at me suspiciously before turning back to look in front of him. I almost laughed myself to death when I saw the realization kick in and he looked back at me with such a flustered face. I put him back down on his feet and let him get back his bearings. After a while, he apologetically smiled before scratching the back of his head. "Sorry about that how stand-offish I was just...I''m pretty tense from just transferring to this school...Anyway!" he stood up straight, his height seeming almost childish to mine, "You''re the first person I''ve met at this school who seems to give a damn about other people! So, wanna be friends or something?" he looked at me with expectant eyes which caused me to laugh. "Yeah, sure dude, the name''s Michael Fortis," I put my hand out for a handshake which he hurriedly returned. "You mean like the Latin for strong, Fortis?" seeing me nod he chuckled, "Damn, dude, that''s a pretty odd name...Not to say that in a mean way or anything--" I held up my hand. "It''s alright, dude, no harm by it," I slapped his shoulder, getting the bad habit from Thor, "So, you gonna introduce yourself or do I have to call you Dude and Bro all the time?" Hearing what I said, laughed nervously before speaking, "Ah, yeah, sorry about that. My name''s Miles Morales, nice to meet you!" "Good to meet you too. Anyway, I guess we''re both heading to the Teacher''s lounge, right? We''re both new transfers after all," I looked around, seeing even fewer people in the corridors than before. Rough translation - we were pretty late. Before Miles could burst in the excitement that he''d made friends with another newly transferred kid, we heard a voice behind us. "You guys are my new students, right? You''re pretty late..." both Miles and I turned to see a brown-haired man who seemed to be in his early 30s. His hazel eyes looked at the two of us with slight annoyance but also a certain fondness, as if being late was something he did a lot as a kid. "Well, anyway, my name''s Mr. Parker and I''m both your science teacher and your student guidance officer, so let''s get this show on the road...we''re all a bit late for my first period after all..." he showed us a wry smile before walking ahead of us. Miles quickly followed him but seeing me in a daze he hurried whispered at me, "Michael, come on, what''re you in a daze for, dude?!" which brought me out of my daze. We both followed him and kept quiet, Miles obviously a bit shy to open up his shell around a teacher. And I was quiet because of one reason. My science teacher was Peter Parker or better known as; Spider-Man! {A/N - Man, Miles Morales...what a dude. Loved him in Spider-verse and I decided I want him to be Michael''s first friend. Obviously because he''ll instill some fun into Michael and also because I didn''t want him first friend being a normal person he''d have to hide his powers from. Next chapter will introduce some more superpowered teens and then I''ll introduce the special class only those teens can go to~} 10 First Day Pt 2 We didn''t have to walk long for us to get to the Science class, only down a corridor and up some stairs into a new corridor before we were in the Science Section of the school. Mr. Parker turned to us when we were outside the classroom, "Now, I''ll tell you, these kids may seem a bit...odd but I''m sure you''ll get on with hem as long as you put up with that, okay?" he cracked a smile before opening the door. "Hello hello, I know I''m late but I had to pick up two new transfer students...so please try and make them feel welcome, okay?" the room was full of noise which nearly drowned Mr. Parker''s voice out but something about his voice seemed to override every other noise in the room. When the class heard what he''d said, they all slowly started to quieten down which led to Mr. Parker motioning us in with a hand. Miles seemed a bit frozen, so I gave him a ''little'' push into the room which led to him nearly falling flat on his face. He quickly glared at me, with a small bit of confusion in his eyes. His glare quickly faded off when he turned to see a classroom of people looking back at him. Some with mirth, some with disdain and others with indifference. "Haha...what a first impression, huh?" Miles scratched the back of his head, trying to make fun of his tripping but all he got was silence, "Okaaay, moving on...my name''s Miles Morales, nice to meet you all!" once again, silence was the overall reaction for the class. A hand landed on Miles'' shoulder who turned around, seeing Mr. Parker, "Don''t worry about it, kid, they take some time to warm up to people," he looked over to where I was, urging me to walk in and introduce myself. Whelp, here it goes... I walked into the classroom garnering quite a few stares like always but I could definitely feel less annoying stares than I normally would. I looked around the class and saw a few people who looked at me with curiosity but that''s it. I guess you could say they were purer gazes than I normally received? Anyway, I stood next to Miles and Mr. Parker, once again showing my massive height for a 15-year-old. Most would find it intimidating but with the charismatic smile on my face, it''d be better to say most people found it strong. "Hello, my name''s Michael Fortis, nice to meet you all!" a confident voice came out from me, wanting to make the best impression I could for some reason. I scanned through the classroom, noticing a few things that caught my interest. "Okay then, where to seat you...where to seat you...Ah!" Mr. Parker was biting his thumb, thinking where to put us before he turned to us, "You two, you can both sit at the back next to Miss Marie and Miss Stacy," he ended this by pointing over to the back table with two girls on it. Seeing the girls, I gave a mental celebration. Mainly because one of them had a fringe of pure white hair and the other looked like the real-life counter-part to Gwen Stacy from Spider-verse. If I was right, the former is Rogue or Anna Marie and the latter is, like I said, Gwen Stacy. Without waiting for Miles, I walked past the first few tables and toward the empty seats next to the beautiful girls. On the way, someone did try and trip me up but I simply stepped through their foot throwing them off their chair, "Whoops," was all I said, not looking down at them, before walking past and sitting next to the auburn-haired girl with the streak of white across the front of her hair. Miles soon caught up to me and sat next to the skater-chick who was on another side of the Table and opposite me. "Not cool, dude! We should''ve walked over together!" Miles glared at me before whispering this at me. Though it was hardly a whisper as I''m pretty sure most people heard it. I just shrugged at him, "I didn''t want you dragging down my image...who wants to be friends with the kid who nearly fell over by walking into a classroom?" I teased Miles who went a bit red. "Yeah, but you pushed me--!" he was going to carry on but laughter from the platinum blonde beauty next to him caught both of our attention. By now, everyone else in the classroom had started speaking while Mr. Parker sorted out his messy notes and got ready for the lesson. "So, do you two know each other or something?" the blonde-girl smiled while looking between the two of us. I smirked before looking at Miles who saw the look and rapidly shook his head. But I still said how we met, anyway. "Well, Miles here was about to walk into a locker, so I stepped in and helped him. He was obviously so grateful to me that he begged to be friends with me, so I benevolently accepted~" I spoke in an overly grandiose way, obviously joking which caused a snicker from Gwen while Miles-- "Shut up, you idiot! I didn''t beg you to be my friend, it was a mutual arrangement. Yeah, that''s it. We''re both transfer students, so it was only natural to become friends," Miles spoke in a self-assured way which made me laugh a little. "Alright, alright, calm down buddy, I was only messing with you," I leaned over the tabled and gave him a slap on the shoulder, just like...just like Thor...Oh my god, has the student become the Master?! While I was thinking about this, Miles was rubbing his shoulder, "Damn, dude, you need to learn how to control that strength of yours, it hurts like hell..." which caused a surprised look to float onto Miles'' face as he thought about what this meant - he shouldn''t be able to get hurt by a normal person''s slap, right? Gwen seemed to find our dynamic amusing and started to laugh again, "You two seem pretty interesting...wanna hang out at lunch? I could show you around the school if you want?" Hearing her brought both me and Miles out of our thoughts. Miles instantly agreed so both he and Gwen looked at me. Gwen seemed to have an expectant look in her eyes when she stared at me. This caused me to smile, so I thought, why not tease her a little? "Asking us out to lunch without even introducing yourself? Don''t you think we''re moving a little too quickly?" I teasingly smiled before putting a finger on my cheek in mock thought. Gwen went a little red but recovered incredibly quickly, "I guess you''re right...my name''s Gwen Stacy, it''s nice to meet you...Now, do you want to come with me and Miles?" her light red blush came back a bit. Wow, she really is a looker, huh? Ice blue eyes, pale skin, platinum blonde hair and from what I could see from her clothes, a toned and athletic figure...Is she Spider-Woman in this universe as well? But that doesn''t make sense...Unless there were multiple spiders--! My line of thought was cut off when Miles waved his hand in front of me, "Helloooo! Anyone in there?! You gonna answer the question, Michael?" realizing I''d left them on the edge I smiled apologetically. "Oh, sorry, I was just thinking of something...Anyway, yeah, sure I''ll have lunch with the two of you but..." I turned to the girl sat next to me, "Why don''t we make it a whole-table thing? What do you say, Miss Marie, wanna come to eat lunch with us?" My question seemed to catch her off guard and she instantly looked quite flustered, with an unready look on her face and a red blush creeping upon her cheeks. "I w-wouldn''t want to intrude or anything," her southern drawl mixed with her slight stuttering made me think she was really cute. "What do you mean intrude? If I thought you''d be intruding, I wouldn''t have asked if you wanted to come, now would I?" I added a wink and my usual smile. For some reason, I really wanted her to come. Maybe it''s because I know who she is...or it could be because I wanna get closer to a cute girl. Who knows~ Anyway, she began to blush and looked a bit hesitant but surprisingly, Gwen came in and helped me, "Anna, just come have lunch with us, what''s the worst that could happen?" when Gwen said this, Anna seemed to go into thought before lifting her head up and moving her fringe out of the way. "O-okay, I''ll come have lunch with you guys..." she had a cute smile on her face which made me think of a kitten - I just wanted to protect it. Her green eyes seemed to be filled with a lot of happiness, which alerted me a little. I knew Rogue didn''t have a good life, well, for the most part, but she shouldn''t be this happy over having lunch with people, right? I pushed that thought to the back of my mind as I continued to speak with Gwen and Miles, while occasionally trying to get Anna involved in the conversation. Before I knew it, Mr. Parker had sorted out the lesson after a few more minutes or prep and he instantly called the class to attention. "Okay, listen up, class! We''re gonna be doing some practicals today. So, partner up in fours and get the equipment out and set it up, you''re going to need this," he pointed to the whiteboard next to him where he''d written everything we needed down, "and don''t forget the safety goggles!" Seeing the perfect number on our table, we all agreed to team up before we each went off to get the equipment for the test. One thing was for certain - I couldn''t wait for lunch. {A/N - Okay, the blushing and getting flustered isn''t them falling for his (ironically) devilish good looks, no, it just them being flustered around an attractive guy. The same way I''d be flustered around a beautiful girl is she was asking me to have lunch with her. Next chapter will skip the lessons and get to lunch, then we''ll have the special class to look forward to~} 11 First Day Pt 3 Currently, I was standing in line waiting for the chance to get my hands on some food. I was holding my tray like some kind of simpleton. God how I hated the fact I needed so much food... You see, Nat had made me some food for school. But it just wasn''t enough. And even then, that''s when she tried to fill my bag with as much food as possible while still leaving space for books and whatnot. So before I started eating the food already prepared for me, I told the others I had to get some food while hiding the fact I had a literal bag-full of food. Anyway, I was now standing in front of an aged lady. I could tell she was once a pretty woman but those days were long gone. However, I could use this to my advantage... The woman absentmindedly put two slices of pizza on my tray, followed by some fries. She didn''t even look up at me until I called for her attention. "Excuse me, miss?" which made her look up at me, letting her take in my pearly white smile. She smiled at me, letting me carry on, "You wouldn''t happen to able to give me another 2 slices of pizza and some more fries, would you?" her face went hesitant for a second but seeing this, I took control of my Sage Force and sent it straight into her head. I didn''t use Mind Control her, that was reserved for real pieces of sh*t and if I used it on civilians it made me feel like I was assaulting them i.e. not too good about myself. All I did was put a suggestion into her head. Something along the lines of "Give the boy the pizza and fries he wants~". I found this trick out when I last went to a diner. I wanted more fries on my dish, but they said no and only covered a quarter of the plate in fries. So I used my telepathy to aim them toward giving me more fries. And it worked like a charm. Now, you must be wondering what the difference between this and Mind Control is, right? Well, all the difference, really. With Mind Control, the person I''m controlling has to do what I ask/tell them to do. While with this...what should I call it...Persuasion, yeah, while I use Persuasion, I can direct someone toward what I want but if they''re truly against it, no matter how many Persuasion I use, they''ll always deny what I ask. So I can only really use it for specific things on specific people. Luckily, asking for 2 extra slices and some more fries was overstepping the line. "Sure you can, sweetie, here," she put some extra food on my plate before winking at me. Whoa, that''s highly inappropriate for a staff member to do. I quickly made my escape and over to a round table near the back of the cafeteria. I quickly saw the three people who were waiting for me. Sadly, however, they were surrounded by another group of people. One of which was a fat bastard who was eating the food from my bag. That big f*cking bastard, taking my food... I had to control myself as I felt the metal tray in my hands begin to contort. I put a smile on my face and walked over to my table. When near enough, I started to hear the voice of the silver-haired one who I recognized as the dickhead who tried to trip me over in Science class this morning. "Rogue, come over and eat with us, you belong with us rather than these people...they don''t understand you like we do," hearing the dude''s shtick I couldn''t help but get annoyed, my smile feeling a bit more strained than before. I got up behind him and tapped on his shoulder. He spun around, piercing blue eyes staring holes into me. But as soon as he saw it was me, he looked a little hesitant. He obviously remembered how I simply walked through his strongest body part - his legs. Still, he puffed his chest out, "What do you want, new kid?" I chuckled internally at his slight bravado, "I wanna get to my seat and stop that ball of fat you call a friend from eating what''s in my backpack," I smiled at him, letting him feel my annoyance which was practically rolling off of me in waves of slightly pressuring intimidation. Before he could answer me, I put a hand on the side of his shoulder before pushing him lightly to the side. But for him, however, it must have felt like getting pushed out the way by an unstoppable force. Ignoring him from this point onward, I walked straight toward the obese person engorging themselves on some cake I was planning to enjoy. "Oi, you fat blob, who said you could eat my stuff?" my voice was full of disbelief but I bet everyone in the near vicinity could hear my anger. I looked down at the man because, despite his width, I was still taller than his 5''10" frame. He looked up at me with his beady little eyes which looked like they were constantly squinting because of the excess fat on his face. He had Victoria Sponge cake crumbs scattered across his face and half a slice of cake was in his hand. The other half was in his mouth as I saw when he opened his mouth to speak to me. "And who said I needed to ask anyone to eat your stuff? It was just laying here with no one to eat it, so I took up the job!" he beamed a smile at me which would have been disgusting even without the bits of chewed up cake between his teeth. Hearing what he said, something snapped momentarily in my head and I turned to the table and put my tray down before turning back to the smug prick. I placed my hand on his neck and before he could do anything, I squeezed my hand with enough force to take away his ability to breathe. No more and no less. He instantly brought up his hands and scrapped at the hand choking him. In the process, he covered my hand and the sleeve of my leather jacket in Victoria Sponge. I knew I couldn''t blame him fully for this, but oh boy, was I gonna blame all of this on him. I lifted him up into the air, to eye-level to be specific. I used my Gravity Manipulation from the Strength Force to counteract his mutant power which allowed him to pretty much stay grounded no matter what. Although I was sure I could lift him without it, I didn''t want to have to lift the chunk of ground he''d linked himself to. The Blobs squinting eyes looked at me with both fear and shock. The best combination for a teen who''s in a mutant cult. "Now, listen here, you big bastard, you ever take my f*cking food ever again and I''ll punch you so hard you won''t be eating anything solid for a straight month, you hear?" my eyes practically bore holes into his own. The red in them glowing like an inferno, reflecting off of the brown in the opposites eyes. The Blob rapidly nodded his head, well, he tried to. I got the message and let him go, causing him to fall on his ass, shaking the floor around us. By this point, a lot of people were looking at us. Some were filming it, some were gasping while talking to their nearby friends. Some, however, were looking at me with a curious look. Obviously, the silver-haired dick and his group were looking at me with intense hate. The Blob quickly got up and scuttled over to his group. I took one look at the group, "Pietro, was it? If Anna doesn''t want any part in your weird cultist sh*t, leave her alone, okay? If you keep inconveniencing her like you are, I think I''ll have to have a little word with you. Sounds fair, right?" I had a smile which wasn''t quite a smile on my face currently and from what Pietro had seen, I could tell he was slightly scared of it. Pietro huffed before turning away. I sat down only to hear Pietro mutter under his breath, "Traitorous b*tch..." he said it quietly enough that only Rogue could hear but he obviously didn''t know I had incredibly keen senses. I stood up and went to go after him but I felt a slender hand grabbed my arm, "It''s okay, Michael, just leave it, please..." I looked down to find Anna''s emerald eyes pleading me not to go and get myself in trouble. Seeing the cute little face looking up at me, placated me greatly and I realized I truly didn''t want to make any trouble for her, so I sat down. "Thank you, Michael..." Anna said gratefully as she smiled at me. She started messing with her hair before she looked over at me, "...Why''d you say that last part to Pietro? I get you being mad with Fred, but Pietro didn''t say anything to you...so, why?" there was a faint blush on her face as she thought back to how I spoke up for her. I chuckled at her question, much to her annoyance, but I carried on before I smiled and looked her dead in the eyes, "Well, you''re my friend, right? So, why wouldn''t I stick up for you?" Anna seemed to be caught off guard by both the sudden eye contact and smile, while also me saying she was my friend. "You...you see me as a friend?" her southern drawl only accentuated her confusion as she raised an eyebrow at me. Disbelief was prevalent in her eyes but also a sliver of hope. "Sure I do, not like I have many other friends anyway. So, why not make a friend who''s a cute girl when I can?" finishing my answer off with a wink gained me a very red Anna who lowered her head to hide the flushed look on her face. "...Thank you..." Anna mumbled as she brought her head back up and looked at me, her eyes a little red. When I went to answer her, a cough brought to my attention that we weren''t sitting her alone like I was beginning to believe. I took my jacket off and placed it behind me on my seat before looking over at Gwen and Miles who were looking at me. "Oh, did I bring you two lovebirds out of your moment or something?" Miles smirked at me, his words making Anna blush once more while they made me laugh. "Nonono, don''t worry, I''ve gotta thank you, I almost forgot I had two other friends sitting with us~" I smirked back at him, my words making both him and Gwen laugh. While they were laughing, I quickly started to devour the food on the tray in front of me. I''ve gotta say - I am starving. Slowly the two stopped laughing when they saw me utterly devouring the food. Obviously with good table manners but it didn''t make it any less shocking that I was a human hoover/bin. Before I knew it, the food was gone and I began to eat whatever Blob hadn''t gotten his grubby, fat hands on. That was gone before I knew it as well. Damn, I need food that actually fills me...Oh well, this should do for now... I looked back to see Gwen, Miles, and even Anna looking at me with slight disbelief. "W-what?" I nervously asked, but I knew full well that I''d let what Nat called the Inner Dustbin out and devoured all my food at an inhuman speed. Miles'' eye twitched slightly, "What? Your seriously gonna ask ''What?'' when you ate that food like a man that''d been starved for a month straight?" his voice was filled with curiosity and mirth as he saw my slightly flustered look. "So, what? A man''s gotta eat, you know, plus, I work out a lot so I need to ingest a lot of calories..." my voice faded off as I looked over at Anna who was smiling at me. My attention was taken from her when I heard Gwen speak, "I don''t doubt that you work out," she raised an eyebrow at my arm which was barely contained by the short-sleeved white top I was wearing, "It also explains how you lifted Fred like he was nothing...the dude weighs about 300lbs+...are you training to be an Olympian or something?" she giggled toward the end of her sentence which was slightly enthralling, I''ll be honest. But luckily, being around Nat for so long has given me immunity (resistance, would probably be more accurate) to the seductive charm of women. "Nope, I just like working out," I smiled at her, before carrying on, "Are you guys gonna take forever eating? I thought you were gonna show us around the school, Gwen?" my words injected something into both Miles and Gwen who started to wolf down their pizza and fries. I looked over at Anna and saw she still had a lot of food on her plate and she looked a bit...sad? So, I decided to ask her something. "Are you gonna leave you food and then come with us? Or do you not want to come with us?" my question made Anna''s head dart in my direction. "Wait, you want me to come around with you as well?" her sad look turned into a hopeful one which made me once again sigh at how cute someone could be. "Yeah, of course, did you think the invite only extended to lunch?" smirking, I saw Anna''s face go a little red before she laughed. "Kinda, yeah~" she then went back to eating but this time with fervor, like the two other people on our table. Looking at the three of them, I couldn''t help but laugh. School didn''t seem so bad anymore. {A/N - Pretty big chapter, huh? Well, the biggest one so far, at least. Anyway, I''ve gotta say this before someone complains - Just because Anna is blushing and getting flustered around Michael, doesn''t mean I''m making her fall in love with him instantly. At most she sees him as a boy she finds quite attractive, and someone she has positive feelings for because of what happened this chapter, so, please don''t say I''m rushing romance~ Next chapter will skip to the special class which is held after school.} 12 Special Class The rest of the day had flown by. I had most of my classes with either one of the three, so I was never bored in those specific classes, If I wasn''t with them, I''d simply use Persuasion on the teacher and ask them to let me sleep. After showing that I had what was needed to pass the end of year exam, even though it was my first day, the teacher was easily won over by my Persuasion. I hadn''t any more trouble from Pietro and his cultist buddies, well, over than the jade-green eyed girl who kept glaring at me. I guessed she was Wanda, Pietro''s sister. Can''t see where the similarities are. But nonetheless, I ignored her. She did try to get into my head a few times but a simply smack of the Sage Force sent her powers running. The Sage Force wasn''t all-powerful but its domain was in my mind and if you thought you could beat it on its home turf, you were severely wrong. Anyway, right now I was standing in front of the locker I was assigned. The school day had ended and everyone was heading home. Anna, Gwen, and Miles headed off in a hurry when the bell rang, so I''m guessing they all do have their powers. Not like it was that surprising, really. Why do I think they have powers because they rushed off at the end of school? Because I did the same thing because we have a special class after school. Nat gave me a rundown before I came to school today. The class was to do with both monitoring and training budding teen heroes. And it truly fit with one of my goals on coming to school; Meet and get to know other teen superheroes. So, I, for one, didn''t have anything about going to this lesson. Opening my locker, I found a sort of PE uniform. It was comprised of a black tank top with white outlines and two white symbols on its front side - A S.H.I.E.L.D logo and an Avengers Logo. The other piece of clothing was a pair of sweatpants with a white line running down the outside of either leg. On top of all that, there was a pair of ordinary looking running shoes, but a quick scan of Sage Force told me these shoes were incredibly durable just like the clothes below them. Raising an eyebrow at this new knowledge, I felt an excited grin spread across my face. If we needed durable gear, wouldn''t we be doing something fun(dangerous)? I instantly felt like a giddy kid and picked up the clothes before running off to the Gym changing rooms. Inside, I didn''t see any signs of Miles and guessed he must''ve gotten dressed quickly and entered the Gym. Anyway, I quickly kicked off my shoes before stripping down to my underwear. I quickly slipped on the tank top and sweatpants before putting the trainers on. They had a simple design, but it was nice. With the main part of the shoe being black but the grip underneath and the laces being white. Black and white seemed to be the colors for whatever training group this was. Taking my thoughts away from that, I got up and did a few quick stretches before going and entering the Gym. Waiting for me was a single person. He had a friendly-looking face and an even friendlier looking smile. His brown hair was slowly receding, a tell of his true age and his face was slightly wrinkled in places but overall it didn''t affect his appearance too much. He was about 5''7" and had a fit body but overall he didn''t seem very threatening but I knew who he was and felt a little bit surprised he was overlooking my class. Before I could say anything, he spoke up. "So, you''re the infamous Michael who''s name has been spreading around S.H.I.E.L.D and all its female workers?" he smirked before laughing at my slightly sullen face at remembering how the fairer gender treated me in S.H.I.E.L.D - Like a goddamn toyboy or something! "Yeah, yeah, can we please get past that and never mention it again?" my annoyance must have clearly shown because the man laughed once more before looking me dead in the eyes. I''d finally walked in front of him when he opened his mouth. "Of course, Michael. Now, let me introduce myself," he put his hand out for me, "you can call me Agent Coulson or just Coulson, whichever you prefer," I took his hand and nodded at what he said. We both broke the handshake and I decided to speak up first, "So, Agent Coulson, why am I here, yet no one else is? You can''t say you want me to believe this is my own personal class, right?" Coulson had a small smile on his face when he heard me say this. He didn''t answer and only pressed a button on a remote he''d brought out of the inside of his jacket. A slight rumble shook the gym room before the floor I was standing on began to lower itself along with the floor surrounding us in a 3-meter diameter. I looked around in wonder as we slowly went down below the floor and another floor cam and filled in the gap above us. It was pitch black for a moment before lights came on and illuminated the area around us. It was a black cylinder which surrounded up and slowly gave way to a cylinder of glass which showed the massive training room which reminded me of the one in the S.H.I.E.L.D headquarters. Toward the back of the room was an entire section filled with massive weights. But most of the room looked blank and plain, like it...could be used as anything! Ah, so it''s similar to the X-Men''s Danger Room, huh? How fun. What really caught my attention, however, was the people who were gathered around the weight area. Underneath the weights was a woman, she must have been about 6''6" and had probably the most amazing body I''d ever seen. Not too muscular but not too slender either. She was like an athletic animal, each muscle coming together to form the perfect image. With my enhanced eyes I could see her beautiful face, both sharp and soft, with soft looking lips which were just the right size to be juicy-looking while not overly big looking like she''d had Botox done. Her eyes were green and so bright that they seemed to shine, radiating with a green light. But the most stunning thing was her green skin and her dark green hair. I instantly knew who this bombshell was; She-Hulk. I wasn''t completely dazed by her beauty as I still had my mental functions about me. But bad thing is, those mental functions were getting excited about fighting her. Haaah~ Seems I truly am a bit weird, huh? Sighing, I smiled as I realized the door was about to open because we were at our destination. The door opened and no one looked back. Purely because of the distance between the door and them was about 200 meters or so. Coulson looked over at me and motioned for me to go over to the group of teens over by the weights. I did as he asked and walked over to them, trying my best not to alert any of them. But even though I did my best, one girl turned around and looked at me. She wasn''t tall, in fact, I would say she was short at around 5''1". But her small frame was covered in toned muscles and gave off a feeling of pure explosive power like a bowstring pulled to its limits. Her cold blue eyes made me feel like a predator was looking at me. But I felt no fear, my red eyes stared in her blue ones and we had a bit of a stand-off as I walked closer and closer. I could tell her instincts could sense my power and she was getting ready to either run or attack me. Fight or Flight responses and all that. But I chose to ignore her, only keeping my Sage Force focused around her to make sure I wasn''t caught off guard by a surprise attack of hers. She seemed a bit stumped when I just walked past her and toward the green-amazon of a woman lifting the massive weights behind her. I took a quick look at the weights on either side and could see she was lifting about 60 tons without any major strain. Huh, only 60 tons? Guess I''ll have to get her angry if I want a good fight... A voice brought me out of my thinking, "Damn, Jennifer you really are stronger than last year...I''ve improved my strength but my defense is still my best part," I looked over at the voice to see a tall, dark-skinned teen. He had a bald head, thin but full eyebrows, and dark brown eyes. He was about my height, around 6''3" making him an inch or two shorter than me. His body was pretty bulky, however, so he did seem bigger than he actually was. His body looked like a bodybuilder''s - big muscles. He looked like he had impressive strength. Though, if he was still weaker than She-Hulk, he still had a long way to go but I''d definitely help him; I needed good opponents that could allow me to experience the rush of battle, after all. "Don''t worry about it, Luke, you''ll get to the strength eventually," the cheery voice coming from the tall woman didn''t seem like it fitted her. Like it was the voice of a teenage girl. Which it obviously was. By this point, others had noticed me and were looking at me with curiosity. Three particular people were looking at me with shock and had expressions on their faces as if they wanted to interrogate me. I tried my best to ignore those looks. Anyway, I looked down at She-Hulk and decided I needed to be a bit...antagonizing to draw out her power a bit more. "Is that your limit?" my deep but smooth voice brought everyone''s attention to me, shocked that they didn''t notice me. But they couldn''t be blamed, I had used the Sage Force to divert most people''s attention away from me. Only people with stronger willpower and people who were actively looking at me could really see through the illusion. Luke looked over at me with a raised eyebrow and widened eyes like I''d just dug my own grave. While She-Hulk or Jennifer put the bar down onto the resting place and sat up before looking at me, "Excuse me?" her green eyes had a threatening glint to them. Good, that''s the reaction I wanted~ "I said, is that your limit? Because if it is, that''s incredibly sad. I was hoping to find someone fun to fight in this class, after all," I put on a grief-stricken expression which seemed to annoy Jennifer even more. She stood up and went to walk at me but a stony hand was placed on her shoulder, while another was placed on mine, before a gravelly voice spoke out, "Now now, kids, you can sort this out in the Solo Fights in a bit," I instantly looked to the right of me and saw a man who seemed to be as wide as he was tall. And he seemed to be around 6''1" which made it all the more impressive. He wasn''t wearing a top but was wearing some dark blue pants made of an unknown material but there was a belt holding the pants up with a buckle which had a big ''4'' on it. The most striking thing about him was that he looked like he was made of rock and that he only had three fingers and a thumb, but each finger was quite massive. Now I could see why he had problems with picking up and using forks, damn. I instantly dropped my attention with Jennifer and turned to the man who I recognized as Ben Grimm or alternatively known as The Thing. "Ben Grimm, oh wow, I''m a real big fan!" I smiled as I took his hand and rapidly shook it. This guy was by far my most favorite hero in Marvel. He wasn''t the strongest and he definitely wasn''t the prettiest but when the going gets tough, Ben Grimm just gets tougher. The dude had a boxing match with the Champion of the Universe and no matter how many bones the Champion broke, or how hard he got hit, Ben Grimm got back up and forced the Champion to forfeit the match through pure determination. The guy''s an absolute legend in my books and someone I hold in high regard. So the thought that he was in front of me and possibly my teacher was just...it was just the best thing ever. Pun intended. I was so glad I didn''t blow off this training like I wanted to. {A/N - I bet you can guess who my favorite hero is, right? Well, if you can''t, it''s The Thing or Ben Grimm. He''s just someone I think is great. I like to use him as a template for life; when you get hit or knocked down, just get back up to spite the bastard who put you down in the first place. The amount of stuff that I''ve seen Ben Grimm go through in the comics, just makes me respect him all the more. Anyway, more people will be introduced next chapter. Anyone you guys wanna see in the class? Tell me in the comments, I''m always open to suggestion~} 13 Determining the Hierachy Ben''s rocky face seemed to freeze before his eyes widened in shock and he stammered slightly. He wasn''t quite used to this kind of reaction, even people who he''d just saved still looked at him with weird looks. "A-ah, well, that''s good and all, kid, but can we get the lesson underway?" his gravelly voice seemed a bit happy but mostly it seemed slightly flustered. I instantly stopped shaking his hand and backed up a little, "Sure, take it away Mr. Grimm!" my smile never left my face and neither did my enthusiasm. I was just happy I''d get to train under a guy like Ben Grimm. "Ahem, well okay, let''s get started then..." Ben''s slightly dazed behavior disappeared instantly, replaced by a serious look as he looked over behind the group, "Johnny, get over here, will ya?! You too, Logan, Cap," I instantly looked behind myself and saw 3 people walking over. One of them I was already familiar with. 6''2", blond-ish hair and blue eyes, it couldn''t be anyone other than Cap. Next to him was a man dressed in ordinary clothes, but even still, I could see he was built like a brick sh*thouse. His hair was wild and black while his eyes were light brown but they were in a constant glare. At that to his 6''1" height and you had quite an intimidating guy. Well, that''s Logan or Wolverine for ya. Finally, I looked to see the shortest of the three. He was around 5''10" and he didn''t seem very muscular compared to the other two. He had blond hair like Cap but unlike Cap''s golden blond, this guy''s hair was the near white kind of blond. He had a confident smile on his face and a playful look in his blue eyes. He gave off a playboy kinda vibe. Like the Thing said, this was Johnny Storm or better known by his superhero name, The Human Torch. "Ah, calm down big guy, we''re just making an entrance~" Johnny laughed before floating up with his pyrokinetic powers, turned himself into his full-flame body before doing a few loops in the air before landing right next to Ben and therefore me. I could hear Logan sigh as he walked over and I gotta go with him on this one; Johnny is a bit much sometimes. Soon enough Cap and Logan were standing next to Ben, looking at the group I was in. Cap had a knowing smile on his face as he nodded at me. I nodded back, a smile on my face because I knew what they were about to have us do. Cap took a step forward, "Okay! Listen up everybody!" everyone looked at Cap who''d seemingly entered his staff-sergeant mode, "Today, we''re going to have a little tournament to see who''s the strongest in this group," not only I was getting excited from the quickening heartbeats I could feel around me. Cap looked at She-Hulk, Luke and some others before speaking again, "Some of you have already been training since last year, so you''ll have the advantage but I''ll tell you now...Don''t get too cocky because the new kids might give you a few surprises!" Cap ended this with a shout before we all heard a click and the area behind us started to shake. From the center of the ground came an elevated area about 15m by 15m. It seemed to be the place we were going to fight. Everyone was looking at the stage when we heard a gruff and tired voice behind us, "Hurry up then, ya bunch of brats...Line up next to the arena, we need to get these fights outta the way..." I took a glance behind me just like many others of the group and saw the wild-looking Logan grumpily trudging over to us. Not wanting to be unnecessarily difficult, I just went on my merry way and walked toward the arena. The others soon followed and we had lined up next to the arena. Just my luck that I was between Gwen and Miles who were looking at me pretty hard right now. Obviously, they were trying to dig for my secrets but it''d never work. Why? Because Logan had my back, duh. "You," Logan looked at me, pointing his finger at me. I looked at him before pointing my own finger at me, "Yes, you, now get up on the stage, bub. You seemed pretty eager to fight, so I wanna see why..." one of the other ''teachers'' must have given him a look because he gave a small grunt. I, though I knew the guy couldn''t beat me in raw strength, did what he asked as his fighting experience was enough to put me under the table a few times over. If I wanted to learn anything from him, I better stay on his good...no, his ''I''ll tolerate you'' list. Standing on the stage I looked at Logan, my posture asking him when he was gonna give me an opponent. Obviously in a ''respectful'' way. "Hmph...Luke! Come up and see what the new kids got, okay?" Logan looked at the tall burly kid I saw next to Jennifer earlier. Luke instantly nodded his head before walking up onto the stage. He seemed to take what Cap said earlier to heart and instantly got into a sort of street-fighting stance. I casually stood there, before tilting my head, "Your power''s to do with defense right? You said to..." I looked over at the green-woman, "...Jennifer, right? Yeah, any way you said your defense was your best part, so I guess it must be your power," I raised an eyebrow, looking curiously at Luke who chuckled at my question. "Yeah, defense is my power. Bullets, knives, explosions, whatever you got, I can take it...Now let''s get the fight started, newbie," he slowly moved his way over to me, his body tensing up ever so slightly. "Well, if you want to, I''ll oblige..." my voice faded off as I rushed at him. To others, I must have seemingly disappeared because Luke had wide eyes as he saw me practically appear in front of him. Before he could react, I slammed my foot down onto his leading foot, grounding both of our feet into the arena about an inch or two and sending a myriad of cracks with us at the center of them. I brought my arm to my side, letting my knuckles face the ground before I swung my fist upward with the necessary strength to give even Luke''s defenses a hard time. *BANG!* My fist hit Luke''s chin with enough force that a concussive blast of air shot out from the point of contact and blew everyone''s hair around like some kind of turbulent storm. Some of the physically weaker people had to raise their arms as the wind was so strong it was especially hurtful to their eyes. Luke, on the other hand, was in a much worse situation. His head shot back before letting out a dangerous crack, like a whip being cracked. His head stayed backward for a little bit before finally falling forward again. His eyes were threatening to close and his eyes looked incredibly dazed. But the dazed look couldn''t hide the pure confusion and shock floating about his eyes. Seeing the confusion, I felt like I should enlighten him. "Don''t worry, Luke, your defense didn''t fail you, in fact, it caused your downfall," I smiled at him, "See, your bones, skin, and muscles have tremendous defense but your brain, your brain doesn''t have that defense. So, that punch of mine just now rattled your brain back and forth off of the inside of your skull like a ping-pong ball between two professional players, essentially stunning you or giving you a concussion, I don''t know which really..." I finished with a laugh. Luke''s eyes had cleared up immensely by now and his confusion had been cleared. So, the first thing he did was throw a punch at me. I slowly tilted my head out the way. You''d think after the strength I''d just shown him, he''d give up...Guess the answer to my earlier question is Concussion... His fist shot past my head and I waited for his punch to fully extend before I grabbed his wrist with one hand and the back of his neck with another. To finish it off I swept his legs out from under him and proceeded to slam his head into the ground with enough force to further the cracks on the ground from earlier. *BANG!* I released my grip on him before standing up fully again and looking over at Logan. The man in question was looking at me while slowly nodding his head. "Good job, newbie. Quick, efficient, and ruthless. Seems like you''ve got the skills to back up your eagerness from earlier...Pick Luke up and bring him off the arena, we''ll call for some medical assistance," Logan''s gruff voice was filled with praise as he looked at me but still, that grumpy glare he had on his face never left. Not paying any mind to it, I picked up my unfortunate opponent before dragging him across the floor and back over to the line. I got a few looks, mostly of apprehension but some were of aggression. The ones of aggression came from two people. One of them was Jennifer, which was understandable, she seemed to be friends with Luke and I did just manhandle the poor guy. But the other was from the short black-haired girl who noticed my appearance first when I first walked over to the group earlier. I didn''t quite understand her reason for glaring at me but I''d keep my eye on her for now. I dropped Luke over by his original place, obviously next to Jennifer, before walking back over to my own spot. Logan set up the next match which was between two guys I knew from the X-Men Comics, Robert "Bobby" Drake and Scott Summers. When I looked around some more I saw a cute redhead holding her hands to her chest while staring at Scott. I guess that must be Jean Grey, huh? Seems like she''s already in love/in a relationship with Scott. Good for those two. Sadly I was brought out my thinking by a poke to the side of my face. I squinted my eyes and looked to my side to see Gwen looking up at me with her icy blue eyes. "So, let''s say we weren''t superpowered like you, would you have told us you had powers?" she seemed a bit miffed which I found...odd. So, I shot back instantly at her. "Would you have told me? We met today, Gwen. And while I do admit all four of us hit it off really well, I don''t think we were at the point where I''d share all my secrets with you, right?" my voice had a bit of an edge to it. I didn''t mean for it to come out as sharp as it did but I guess my pesky emotions were getting in the way again. Gwen seemed a bit taken aback by what I said but Miles'' hand rested on her shoulder before he chimed in, "Michael''s right, Gwen. I know it feels a bit weird that he had something he didn''t tell us but we weren''t gonna tell him either, so let it slide, okay?" she looked into Miles'' pleading amber eyes before sighing and turning back to me. "Yeah, he''s right...Sorry, Michael, it''s just I don''t like it when people lie to me, so don''t lie from now on, okay?!" her cute face looked really serious which only served to emphasize it. Nonetheless, I rolled my eyes, "I can''t promise that, Gwen, there are some things I''m not ready to speak about...but if it''s something as simple as ''I ate the last piece of cake'' or ''I split milk all over your laptop'' then sure, I''m fine with that," I smiled at her and she smiled back before she lifted her hand up in a fist bump. Haah~ She really is a tomboy...Not that that''s a bad thing~ I replied to her fist bump with my own and Miles'' seemed super excited for some reason. He fist-bumped Gwen before holding his hand up to me. I sighed before fist bumping him. Though I sighed, I was glad Miles was around. He had a hyper energy around him that made me feel...relaxed, I guess? Anyway, the fighting had ended by this point and Scott walked down from the arena ground with a slightly winded Bobby. (A/N - I''m gonna call Iceman Bobby rather than Robert, it just fits better for me) "Now, Rogue, get up here and..." Logan looked around before his eyes landed on a specific person, "Jennifer, get up here and gain back some of the dignity you seniors should have," Logan chuckled a little as he looked over at Luke who was now up and was holding an ice pack on his head. This seemed to piss Jennifer off as she once again glared over at me, her eyes glowing in a menacing green. A pang of worry spread throughout my body as I thought about Anna going up against THE She-Hulk. But that worry was quickly suppressed when I remembered the nature of Anna''s powers. If everything goes right, she should absorb Jennifer''s powers and empower herself. Then the fight should be much fairer. Though, I could tell that wasn''t how things were gonna go. 14 Getting Involved Anna''s small figure was made to look even smaller when in front of Jennifer''s 6''6" athletic one. But underneath Anna''s baggy clothes, I could tell that there was a pretty athletic body. Not that it mattered when you''re up against the She-Hulk, but oh well, I''m trying to make myself feel better about this matchup, okay? Anna slowly got into a combat stance which looked a bit sloppy - I''d have to train that out of her - but other than that, she didn''t look at Jennifer with any kind of fear, which surprised me just as much as it did Jennifer. "You ready, pipsqueak?" Jennifer jeered at Anna but got no reply so she rushed at her. Not using all her speed and strength but also not underestimating the newbie. She didn''t want to end up like Luke after all. Despite all her strength, Jennifer was limited in terms of speed just like I was. We could improve our strength and therefore our speed but we''d never be outright as quick as a speedster like Quicksilver. Not that it was too big a disadvantage to me, however, as my reaction speed and reflexes could catch Quicksilver for me when he tries to attack me. But for Jennifer, all she has is strength and durability. I''m sure she has pretty good reflexes when she''s angry enough but that defies the point; She''d probably be too angry to act on those reflexes in a good way. Anyway, back to the fight, Jennifer threw a sloppy punch at Anna. She didn''t use a lot of her strength as she didn''t want to eviscerate Anna as she was a pretty normal human being without her Mutant Power active. Anna ducked under the punch to everyone''s surprise. Well, everyone but me. Anna grabbed the wrist of Jennifer and using her bulk against her, flipped her over her shoulder and slammed her into the floor. The massive green woman had wide eyes as she looked up at Anna who had a small smile on her face. She even glanced over at me, to see what I was thinking. To reassure her, I smiled and put a thumbs up. You''d have thought I gave her a million dollars by the wide smile on her face. Anna quickly focused herself, however, and took off one of her gloves before gripping Jennifer''s wrist once again. At first, Jennifer was on the floor doing nothing because she was stunned that such a small girl had flipped her. She knew she''d made the same mistake as Luke and severely underestimated her opponent. But as soon as Anna''s bare skin touched her, she felt paralyzed and her strength started to leave her body. Jennifer''s green eyes looked at Anna who was slowly going green herself as if mimicking her abilities...as if she were stealing her abilities...! A growl of anger came from Jennifer''s throat and she started to slowly stand up despite her weakening state. Her body was being fueled by the anger from having her powers stolen. The weakening of her body was slowly coming to an end and replacing it was a surge of strength. Anna saw this and couldn''t help but widen her eyes in slight fear. No one had been able to resist her powers like this. But as I watched, I couldn''t help but shake my head. Number one rule when dealing with a Hulk? Don''t get them angry, just knock them out as soon as possible with maximum force. And if you can''t do that? Just leave them alone. I slowly tensed my muscles, knowing I might have to come in and help Anna if Jennifer gets too angry. I know the teachers could help as well, in fact, The Thing is probably the best person to force the She-Hulk to calm down. The dude''s a fortress that can walk. But I doubt he''d be quick enough to intervene. I summoned my divine tattoos on my legs only, knowing I''d need a speed boost if I wanted to properly help. "You''re stealing MY powers?" Jennifer''s voice was slightly distorted by her anger and her eyes were now luminescent, "You b*tch!" Jennifer broke free of Anna''s grip before backhanding her with her massive strength. Unlike what she was expecting, Anna only slid back to the edge of the arena before she forcibly stopped herself. Anna turned her head toward Jennifer before wiping some blood off her lip. Seeing her casual attitude made me smile, she just kept getting better. Without waiting for anything else, the two of them charged at each other. Anna had grown an inch or two and her skin was a light green. Her normal emerald eyes were now shining with slight anger. Her baggy clothes were also a bit more filled by her body. Instantly they met each other, like two charging elephants their clash resulted in a massive thud of flesh hitting flesh. The two of them grabbed the hands of the other and started pushing one another. Anna continued to absorb the power, while Jennifer''s power just kept crawling higher due to her anger. Jennifer brought the stalemate to an end when she pulled Anna toward her and brought her knee up into Anna''s gut. Anna wasn''t used to the abilities she''d stolen and was pulled straight into the knee. The air was forcibly pushed out of her lungs. But she pushed through it and released one of Jennifer''s hands before throwing a hook at Jennifer''s jaw. The resulting bang from the fist even made me flinch a little as I saw Jennifer''s head slap to the side like a lifeless fish. But it soon came back like a bloodthirsty shark and another dig of her knee blew Anna backward once again. This time some blood came from Anna''s mouth but she ignored it and ran back to Jennifer. They exchanged fists and kicks, each one seemingly more vicious than the previous one. It was like watching two gorillas fight each other for supremacy; Animal-like, savage, and supreme strength ruled above everything else. But slowly but surely, Anna was losing. The powers she''d absorbed were slowly leaving her and it wasn''t helping that she was getting beaten at the same time which accelerated the process. Which then led to her getting overpowered even more. It was a vicious cycle. *BANG!* Suddenly, Jennifer sent a jab into Anna''s face before following up with a massive uppercut which damn nearly knocked Anna out....and if it weren''t for the sliver of Jennifer''s powers she still had, she''d have died. Seeing this I was already annoyed. Seeing a friend of mine getting hurt was just overall an uncomfortable experience, and seeing a cute girl getting beaten on was even more uncomfortable. Guess that''s just the kind of person I am. Yep, totally no other reasons. I was brought out of my thought process when I saw Anna''s body hit the floor with a dull thud. She brought her head up and I saw her nose was pretty badly injured and her mouth was flooded with blood. All the green had left her skin and her body went back to its normal size. She opened her mouth to forfeit but Jennifer didn''t stop and pulled her fist back before letting loose another punch aimed right at Anna''s head. If it hit, her head would''ve blasted open like a watermelon. Not that it''d hit as I''d charged onto the stage as soon as I saw what was happening. Ben did the same thing but he was still naturally slower than me. Though he was quicker than his bulky size and rocky exterior would have you think. I entered the Burning State, the tattoos growing across my skin. Up my arms, across my chest before spreading down to my legs and up my neck and onto my face. As the tattoos had fully awakened, I was to the side of Jennifer and Anna, so I put my fist out and caught Jennifer''s furious punch. Turbulent air spread out from the collision as a massive bang spread out and echoed off of the walls surrounding us. A slightly demonic grin was on my face as I looked at Jennifer, "What the f*ck do you think you''re doing?" my voice was steady but the underlying wrath within it was audible to everyone in the room. Jennifer didn''t answer me and she only grunted and tried to push her fist forward. She was a lot stronger than I thought she was and her strength alone had reached about 95 tons. But it didn''t matter as my base strength was higher than that and I was currently in my Burning State which added 30 tons at the minimum to my strength. So, in layman''s terms - She was completely outmatched when it came to a contest of strength against me. I clenched my hand around her fist, squeezing until I felt a small crack, "Calm down, Jennifer, you can have a crack at me another time...maybe even today, but you take another step forward and I''ll take your head off your shoulders," my lines were simple, but the deadly threat was increasingly clear as Jennifer slowly calmed down, the green in her eyes fading off. I let go of her hand and she quickly brought it to her chest, letting her healing factor tend to it. Seeing this, I turned around to see Anna looking at me with dazed and glossed over eyes. She seemed to be seeing something in me but what she was seeing I had no clue. I bent over and picked her up in a princess carry before walking back over the line and sitting down, placing her down on my lap. By this point, Anna had come out of her daze and her face had gone completely red. It would''ve made her incredibly beautiful and delightful to look at if it weren''t for the broken nose and bloody mouth. "Before you try and move, Anna, let me heal you," I spoke gently and her face morphed from embarrassment to confusion. I aligned my thumbs on her nose before quickly setting it right, which resulted in a small yelp of pain from Anna who glared at me. Seeing her glare I sheepishly smiled before summoning my Holy Fire element. "If this hurt, Anna, tell me and I''ll stop instantly, okay?" she didn''t know what I was talking about but she still nodded her head. I started channeling the energy into her body after making its properties positive. It wasn''t boiling hot like it was in my body but instead felt warm, like the perfect bath. I took away all its offensive elements and enhanced the strength and potency of the healing effects with the Strength Force. I''d learned how to do this through multiple testings on my self. I couldn''t be sure it''d work on a Mutant like Anna but I made sure I was vigilant to stop anything bad from happening. But from the look of pure comfort on Anna''s face, and the content smile, I''m pretty sure nothing bad was happening. Nonetheless, I still kept the Sage Force active and scanned through her body just in case. And what I saw was the energy rushing through the body in a steady stream of healing. Healing both the injuries from the previous fight and also any hidden injuries she had in her body. Her nose completely healed within seconds and whatever was spilling blood into her mouth healed soon after her nose. But seeing her look of comfort, I continued healing her. Something told me she needed this relaxation, that she couldn''t get in her normal life. After a while of watching the fights, I stopped the healing which caused Anna to open her eyes in displeasure and reluctance. But she soon remembered where she was and instantly scooted off of my lap and onto the floor in front of me. She glared at me like I was some kind of criminal. The glare, however, soon melted into a look of sadness but also of reprimand. "What? Would you rather me not heal you?" a wolfish grin spread across my face as I looked at Anna. I wanted to cheer her up a little. Anna looked at me, "You didn''t need to step in at the end...you could have gotten hurt..." her voice faded off as she looked up at me with a guilty look. I could only laugh at what she said which caused her to pout, but I answered her nonetheless, "Well, of course, I had to step in, even if I did get hurt. You''re my friend, after all, and secondly, it takes a lot to hurt me, Anna, so don''t worry about that~" I patted her head a little, like how Nat did to me when she saw me looking down when I thought about my lack of memories. Anna just accepted the pats with a light blush on her face but a small smile nonetheless. She really does remind me of a little kitten, what the hell is wrong with my mind!? As I was undergoing a small mental reevaluation, I noticed a black-haired girl walking over to us. Her green eyes were filled with a guilty look. I was instantly on guard as I knew this must be Jennifer out of her She-Hulk state. Even if she was sorry for what she did, I was still pretty pissed at her. {A/N - For those who are wondering what Rogue/Anna looks like. Think of how she looks in X-Men Evolution (The animated show) but without the choker and the revealing clothing. She''s more likely to wear baggy hoodies and sweaters, with skinny jeans or something similar in this fanfic because of how shy-ish she is. But if you want a more realistic look at what she looks like, check this link out: https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Rogue_(Anna_Marie)_(Earth-616)?file=Astonishing_X-Men_Vol_4_1_Artgerm_Variant_Textless.jpg - its how I imagine her to be at least, just a bit younger. Oh and if you''re wondering why she didn''t drain She-Hulk instantly, she''s still a teen and hadn''t fully gained control of her power. Nor can she use it to it''s maximum effectiveness. Anyway, a few people have been calling the fanfic boring lately, so I just wanna get across that this fanfic, right now, is focusing on expanding on Michael''s character/personality and his relationships with other people in the story. I can''t do instant fighting without you guys knowing who Michael is and how he reacts to certain things. That''s just be a bit dumb.} 15 Emotion Jennifer was similar to how she was in her She-Hulk form, just smaller and without green skin and hair. She still had a curvy body, with defined muscles on her abs and legs. But right now, her body was drawing into itself. Her shoulders were brought inwards as her arms were clasped in front of her chest. She wouldn''t meet either mine or Anna''s eyes and overall she seemed to exude guilt, remorse, and anxiousness. "Anna...I-I''m sorry...I didn''t mean to get that angry over such a little thing..." Jennifer''s voice trembled as her eyes went a little red. Seeing her in this state, Anna instantly stood up and rushed in front of her with a flustered look on her face. "You don''t need to cry, Jennifer! Michael stepped in before it got any worse, so I''m fine! See!" Anna smiled while pointing to her face. But Jennifer''s face dropped a little when she heard my name. She turned to me and had an awkward apologetic look on her face. Before she even said anything, I spoke up. "I don''t care if you''re sorry," my words seemed to daze her as she flinched before going rock solid, "Just don''t try and hurt my friends again," with that, I got up and walked away, leaving both Anna and the frozen Jennifer. As I was walking away, I heard Anna trying to comfort Jennifer but I forcibly cut it out as I was still angry over what happened. Unreasonably so. I went over to an empty part of the room and sat down before calming myself. The heat and the tattoos on my body slowly started to recede back into my cells and I started to think about some worrying information about Nephilims. Apparently, the Human side is usually more concentrated on pure Emotion, while the Angel side is more to do with anything physical. What this means is that I''ve got the volatility of Human Emotions and none of the control most Humans have. Sure I can work on the control but I''ll always be a bit flawed emotionally. So, take just now for example. When I saw that Anna was about to be hurt, my emotions went fully berserk and they still were rampaging in my head. This could have something to do with my lack of memories. Ones which would give me more emotional maturity were also taken from me before I came here. Haah~ This memory business is causing me a lot of troubles... Before I could go deeper into the subject, I closed it down. I didn''t need to let my emotions take control right now, I could end up hurting someone. Remember what Cap said...Calm, always. Letting out a deep breath, I opened my eyes and looked around me. "Ah, you''re finally out of your Jedi Meditation, huh?" I saw Gwen squatting in front of me with Miles next to her doing the same thing. What the hell is a Jedi? Was all I could think but I humored it and thought I''d look into it later... "Yeah...I just had to calm down a little," I smiled at the two of them before standing up and stretching my arms a little. "Good thing too, I thought you were gonna kill someone with the anger you were giving off earlier...So, do you like like Anna or something?" Miles scooted over to me before nudging me in the side with his elbow. I raised an eyebrow at him before laughing, "I''ve only known her for a day, dude, can''t say whether I do or don''t. All I know is that she''s my friend and she needed help. I''d do the same for you two," I patted his shoulder before noticing Gwen was looking at me weirdly, "What?" "...What was that power earlier? It felt like you were giving off some serious heat...and those tattoos as well, what''s the deal with those?" Gwen crossed her arms in front of her before giving me a questioning look. I rolled my eyes before answering, "Well, they''re both to do with my powers...I did say I wouldn''t talk about this stuff, right? Anyway, neither of you have told me your powers--" before I could speak, both of them spoke in unison. "Spider-powers, like Spider-man," "Spider-powers, now tell me yours!" the former was Miles and the latter was Gwen, and I could only look at the two with a twitching eyebrow. "Are you two idiots or something?! Don''t go spouting out about your powers about like that!" I instantly covered their mouths with my hands, not wanting them so loud about their powers. We didn''t know who was listening in. Both of them rolled their eyes at me before removing my hand. Gwen stepped forward a little and looked up at me. "We saw how you stepped in to protect Anna and if you truly would do that for us...aren''t you trustworthy enough for us to tell you about our powers?" she posed the question, but my face still said ''no''. She sighed before carrying on, "Plus, we''re in this class together, right? You''d find out eventually. So what''s the problem with talking about it now?" both her and Miles smiled like professional salespeople to which I could only drag my hand over my face. I let out a sigh, "Haah~ Then I''m gonna have to apologize, my powers come from a more sensitive source than I''m willing to talk about at the minute...you''ll just have to trust me, okay?" I had an awkward look on my face as I did want to tell them, I just didn''t know how they''d react to knowing I wasn''t fully Human. Even if I knew how they were in the comics I had stored in my ''memories'', this wasn''t a comic. It was real-life and they could react badly for all I know. Both of them seemed a bit down with my answer but eventually, they perked back up, accepting what I''d said and respecting my privacy. I felt lucky that I had friends who trusted me so quickly. It''d have gotten annoying to have someone who constantly questioned me. After this little talk, the three of us walked back over to the line where I was instantly called over by the four teachers. "I''ll speak to you guys in a minute, okay?" I nodded at the two before jogging over to the people who called me. Standing in front of me was Logan, who looked pretty pissed off and Ben Grimm who, also, by default looked pissed off. But I could see that he really was a bit pissed at me in his blue eyes. "What did you think you were doing getting involved in that fight earlier, huh?!" Logan took a step toward me, snarling a little, "You think you''re a tough guy or something? Huh, bub?! You should''ve let the teachers handle that fiasco and stayed back!" a big hand rested on his shoulder pulling him back a little. I looked a little guilty when I thought about the worry I probably put the teachers through, but I stood by my actions. If I didn''t intervene, Anna could''ve been seriously hurt or even dead, who knows. As if seeing my thoughts through my eyes, Ben shook his head, "Kid, I know what you''re thinking ''You had to save her'' ''She was gonna die'', but the truth is no one can die in this room," my face was instantly full of confusion which made a grin break out on Ben''s stony face, "Yeah, that''s right, kid, no one can die in this room. We had magician...well kinda a magician anyway, he sorted out a formation for us. A person can take one deadly hit to their person and it will be nullified and they''ll simply be knocked out," Ben faded off before sighing. "It took him a while to do and it cost a hell of a lot of money but it''s up and running right now, so that last hit between Jennifer and Anna would have simply knocked Anna out. You getting involved, however, could have had a worse effect...do you get what I''m saying, Michael?" his eyes bore into my own until I let out a sigh and my shoulders sagged. "Yeah, I do, Ben...and Sorry for making things worse for you teachers...but maybe you should tell us that knowledge before we get into the arena?" I had a weak smile on my face as I looked at Ben. Getting reprimanded by your hero sucks ass, that''s all I can tell ya. Ben put a hand on my shoulder before smiling at me, "As long as you realize your mistake, it''s fine, kid! Now go back to your friends, your next match is coming up," I felt a bit of vigor just get injected into my body before I nodded and walked back over to Gwen, Miles, and now Anna. I felt a bit down, both from allowing my emotions to get a hold of me and also because of not noticing that there was magic around but I pushed that to the back of my head. When I was back in front of my friends, Miles instantly started to ask what they talked to me about. "Ah...they were pretty much telling me to not be such a rash and hot-headed idiot, haha..." I let out a weak laugh as I scratched my head. "But you helped stop Jennifer! What did you do wrong?!" Anna instantly stood in front of me and glared over at the teachers, her southern drawl really coming through just like it usually did when she got emotional. But still, I quickly tried to get her to stop glaring at Logan as he looked like he was about to blow a gasket, "Anna, don''t worry about it okay, they explained that you would''ve been knocked out and that''s it. So I just made it possible for more people to get hurt, okay? So, please stop glaring at the teachers!" I got in front of her and pleadingly smiled at her. Hearing what I said, all three of my friends seemed to calm down before Miles had the same reaction as me. "Why didn''t they tell us this? Seems a bit...stupid, I guess?" he scratched the back of his head before shrugging his shoulders, "Oh well, man, at least you''re not in any trouble or anything!" Hearing his optimism brought me a little out of my own mood, causing me to crack a smile and nod in agreement. Before anything else could be said, I heard Logan''s voice behind me, "Oi, hot-head, get up here!" I turned around and walked up onto the stage. When I saw who my opponent was, I let out a sigh. "Michael...please let me apologize! I''m sorry, okay?!" Jennifer was opposite me, back in her She-Hulk form. Her voice was a bit desperate and I gathered that she must have a sort of complex about hurting people badly in her Hulk form. Which begs the question of why she got so angry that Anna was draining her power? I get it''s annoying but going into a blind rage over it? Seems like an overreaction even to me and my emotions are all over the place! She went to continue before I held up a hand to stop her. "It''s okay, Jennifer," she seemed taken aback by my calmness compared to my earlier anger at her. Seeing this, I continued, "I''ve calmed down and after talking to the teachers, I''ve realized Anna wasn''t in any danger. So I forgive you, just don''t let it happen again, okay?" I smiled a little at her and she seemed pretty happy about my forgiveness. Before she could reply, I cut her off, "But for now, let''s focus on the fight, okay? I''ve been raring for a good one lately!" as I said this, I let my emotions go and let them get washed away by my excitement from an incoming battle. My handsome smile turned a bit manic in excitement as I entered the Burning State. {A/N - So, I''ve come to the conclusion that most, if not all, of you don''t find this book boring and that''s a real relief I''m gonna have to be honest! It''s good to know I''m not completely wasting my time after all. And we''ve hit rank 29 on the Power Status, goddamn! Thank you everyone who''s given me your stones, your support and obvious liking of my novel is incredibly heart warming and makes me want to continue writing this story!} 16 Showing Them Power Seeing my excitement and feeling the power radiating off of me, Jennifer went a bit dazed before smiling herself. Green eyes brightening like stars in the night sky. Both of us looked at the other, waiting for them to make a move. Getting restless, I pushed off with my empowered legs and charged at Jennifer. I appeared in front of her and threw a punch at her. One she could barely bring up her arms to block. The resulting bang was like two pieces of metal hitting each other, the ringing thud echoing around the room. Jennifer, surprisingly, wasn''t pushed back by my punch. Instead, she smiled even wider before sweeping her leg toward the inside of my leading leg. I quickly picked my leg up, letting the kick go harmlessly under my foot, before quickly sending back a kick of my own aimed right at Jennifer''s stomach. The kick was lightning fast and hit her stomach making her cough up all the air she had before she slid back a few meters leaving tracks of broken ground from where she''d tried to stop herself. "Come on, Jennifer! Get stronger! My blood''s barely pumping as it is!" despite my prideful words, a smile of pure excitement was on my face. Sure I''d fought a lot around Cap and Thor but with the former, it was all technical fighting where I couldn''t let go and use my power, while the latter was just Thor beating me around, so I never really got a chance to really fight back. But this! This was a person I felt like I could fight against. Strong enough that they could eventually push me but weak enough that I actually had a chance! It was perfect! All I needed was for her to get angrier. "Be careful what you ask for, Michael! And don''t EVER call me weak!" an angry - or should I say angrier? - Jennifer looked up at me, veins bulging around her body. Seems like I hit a nerve by implying she''s weak right now~ My thinking was quickly brought to an end when Jennifer charged at me and sent a wide punch right to the side of my head. I dodged under it before sending two quick punches into her solar plexus. She flinched a little but pushed through them before sending a kick aimed at my crouching figure. I pivoted to the side before using the momentum from the pivot to send a kick to Jennifer''s side. It connected sending her a few meters back again. But less than last time and that kick was much stronger than the last attack. Good! This time I took the incentive and charged at her. I sent a straight punch at her. It hurtled toward her face like a meteor coming from the Heavens. But funnily enough, Jennifer caught it with her hand before sending a punch toward me. I caught her punch with my other hand and felt the force rattle my bones and cause my muscles to yell in pain. Looking at each other, one of us excited and the other angry, locked in a stalemate. "Great! This is just great, Jennifer! Keep getting stronger!" Seeing her anger had somehow empowered her to be around my level I pulled out a little trump card of mine. Pulling more Holy Fire Energy from my cells, I willed it to increase in heat until even my incredibly heat resistant body began to burn. Then I willed the new fire to enter the tattoos. When it entered them, a wave of heat blasted outward with me at the center. The tattoos still had their red color but they looked more like streams of moving magma than still tattoos now. My power had a sharp increase and due to the heat, it continued to slowly go up and up. The heat could even be linked to my mood, so as long as I continued to get more and more excited, I''d get much stronger. I found this out when Thor was showing me some ancient texts about Angels. Some of them could push their ''States'', as they called them, even further by pushing more energy into their Tattoos. A more water-related Angel would push Holy Water energy into their tattoos, while I, a Nephilim to do with Fire, push Holy Fire energy into my tattoos. I looked at Jennifer, my eyes looking like they belonged on a crazed beast, I saw her uncomfortable expression. She wasn''t damaged but it caused me to look at the others and they looked particularly uncomfortable as well. Not wanting one of the teachers to step in and end my fight because of such a stupid reason, I controlled the Sage Force and drew in all the heat I was giving off and stored it in my body. I made a link to the heat I was producing and to my body, so it would continue to be stored there. Anyway, back to the fight, Jennifer''s veins were bulging just like her muscles and the two of us were pushing against each other like two stags in a dispute, horns locked and pushing with everything we had. The ground had already started cracking from the earlier fights but now, it was fulling breaking apart. A crater had formed between me and Jennifer due to the force of our strength contest. Feeling I was still stronger, I took a step forward pushing her back through the ground and closer to the edge. She tried everything she could but with my Enhanced Burning State and the heat currently empowering me, she''d have to get much more angry to fight back right now. So she was slowly getting pushed back but still, that didn''t mean it was easy on me. On the contrary, she was still getting stronger and I had to stress every muscle in my body to push her back. It was fun. This carried on until finally, I pushed her off the arena and we both collapsed on the ground. Luckily, we''d separated hands by this point and we''d avoided an awkward scenario. She was on her back, rapidly breathing in and out in a haggard fashion. She slowly turned back into her smaller form, before she sat back up. Everyone in the line was looking at us with raised eyebrows and widened eyes. They hadn''t seen that much brute strength ever and it was honestly demoralizing. Imagine having superpowers like Scott; You could shoot concussive blasts out of your eyes. You''d think you''re pretty cool but then you see two people literally cracking apart the floor with a simple pushing match and the pressure created from it. You probably wouldn''t feel too great about your ''laser'' beams anymore. The same went for a few others in the line as well. I, on the other hand, was kneeling while closing my eyes. I retracted my tattoos and imbued the heat in my body into each of my cells, giving them a small boost in power. My heart was banging off the inside of my chest and my breathing was rapid, like a wolf mid-hunt. But ever so slowly, I calm down and opened my eyes again. I stood up and held out a hand for Jennifer, "It was a good fight. I can''t say I used any martial arts, but in terms of brute strength, you pushed me far enough to make the fight exciting. We should train more together!" I had a friendly smile on my face, which she obviously wasn''t expecting to see. But after staring at me for a while, her beautiful face turned into a happy one and she gratefully accepted my extended hand, "Mhm! We should!" she nodded her head before releasing my hand and walking back over to the line. I followed shortly after and walked back over to the three I called friends. Currently, they were looking at me as if I was some kind of behemoth in human form. Miles was the first to break the silence. "Dude, you''re mega strong! I could feel those punches from here and you even managed the damage the ground with a pushing match, I could barely cause a crack with a punch!" he seemed to be in his overly-excited state like usual which made me let out a relieved sigh for some reason. Gwen shook her head at Miles before smiling and looking at me, "Yeah, I gotta agree with Miles, you really are strong. You should give us some tips on how to get stronger!" Miles instantly started nodding her head in agreement to what she said, so I could only reluctantly agree. Anna stayed quiet but she just looked at me with a small smile. When the other two went quiet, she came over to me, "Thanks for accepting Jennifer''s apology, Michael, she really needed it," her voice was quiet but filled with thankfulness. I shrugged my shoulders, not really thinking it was that big of a deal. Before Anna could go on further, our attention was brought to the four teachers currently standing on the stage in front of us. The Thing took a step forward first, "Okay, we''ve seen enough to know what to do with ya," he held up a big notepad before continuing, "On here, shows who you''re gonna be learning under. The 12 of you will be split into 4 groups of 3 and each of the groups will be under one of us," he pointed toward himself and then the other three behind him. Ben brought the list closer to his face before reading out who''s under who, "Under my tutelage will be Jennifer Walters, Luke Cage, and Michael Fortis. You guys seem to be the hard hitters of the group, so I''ll train you to be better at that," my pleasant surprise was massive and I had a happy smile on my face. Meeting Ben Grimm, having a fun fight, and then being told Ben Grimm was gonna teach me, all in one day! What a wonderful day this is~ Ben then passed the list to Logan who was next to him and he spoke out who''d be under him. Then Cap did the same before finally, Johnny read out who was under him. The teams were as such: Cap''s Team: Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, and Anna Marie. Logan''s Team: Laura Kinney, Nadia Pym, and Silver Sablinova. Johnny''s Team: Scott Summers, Bobby Drake, and Jean Grey. Each team focused on a different thing. The Thing''s team would focus on intense physical conditioning. Logan and Cap''s teams would focus on combat training and using your powers in your fights in better and more efficient ways. While Johnny''s team was all about learning how to use your power in more ''cool'' ways as he put it. Probably translated to using your powers to do more damage or have more destructive output. But he also mentioned learning how to control your powers better as well. With all this said and done, we were each given a piece of paper which said where we had to be and what day and time we had to be there. I had to travel to the Baxter Building this Saturday to meet Ben and have him test our strengths. It didn''t seem too bad, I could even possibly meet Reed Richards while I was there and sell him a few ideas I''ve come up with. With that bit sorted, all of us went back to the elevator and went back up to the gym. We all went to get changed back into our clothes before meeting up again. I swapped numbers with Miles, Gwen, and Anna, before giving my number to both Luke and Jennifer seeing as we were on the same team. Haah~ School life seems pretty hectic, huh? {A/N - In before everyone starts asking about the fight between Michael and Jennifer and how he didn''t decimate her, I''ll tell you something; Michael held back to prolong the fight and let Jennifer catch up to his strength level so he could fully enjoy it. And like he said, he didn''t use any of his martial arts training against her, because if he did, she''d have gotten her ass handed to her. Anyway, small time-skip next chapter. About 3 weeks to be exact because we''re moving onto some stuff~} 17 Asgardian Training Prelude! (A/N - Before you read the chapter, I owe you all an apology...First off, I want to thank everyone who wrote such lovely reviews for my story, it really warms my heart! But talking about reviews, that''d be the reason why I have taken a small break. You see, I''m not too good with taking criticism. I don''t know why, maybe I''m a little b*tch or something, I really don''t know. But when I looked at some of the reviews, I just lost my motivation to write. I just didn''t see a point. I guess it''s true what they say - that you usually listen to the vocal minority rather than the silent majority, huh? Guess what I''m trying to say is, I was kinda hurt by some of the stuff that was said in certain reviews. Well, one specific review, really. So, I took a break to get my sh*t together. Anyway, I''m back now! On to the chapter!) I looked into the blue sky above me. It''d been three weeks since my first day in school and I''ve got to say, I really have enjoyed it. Not just the Hero Class but everyone about it. Despite how I thought I''d become bored, the classes, in fact, were the perfect balance I needed when compared to my constant training from before. Nat did say something about balance being needed, huh? I closed my eyes as I let the sun''s rays hit my skin, relaxing as the heat warmed my body. As my eyes were closed I looked back over what had happened over the past 3 weeks. My friendship with Anna, Gwen, and Miles has only gotten stronger over the past few weeks. I suspected that it was because we all knew each other had powers and because of that we didn''t need to do any of that ''hiding my secret powers from my friends'' shtick. But in particular, I had really seen some progress in my friendship with Anna. At first, the shy girl was, well, shy. She wouldn''t fully speak her mind but slowly but surely and because of my wonderful charisma, she opened up and she was quite...blunt, to say the least. Though she still had her personality trait to get incredibly happy over simple things such as me calling her cute or calling her my friend. Both of which were easy to say as they were true - She was cute and she was indeed my friend. As proof of our friendship-- "I''ve got the drinks, Michael," I opened my eyes and looked toward Anna who''d come out of the roof exit to my apartment building. She was wearing a slightly baggy green hoodie, blue ripped denim jeans and some worn-out black and white Vans. Her auburn hair is picked up by the wind and the fringe of white goes straight up, running the hair-do she had been going for. She cutely pouts before squashing the fringe back down with her free hand. Seeing her display, I couldn''t help but laugh. Anna could only indignantly look at me, "It''s not funny, Michael! We don''t all have hair which is seemingly resistant to wind and all the other elements!" she speaks in a mock-grandiose tone, "All hail Michael''s wonderful and superior hair!" she did a bow before both she and I break into laughter. As we continued to laugh, she came over and sat next to me putting the bag full of drinks between us. For a few more seconds we continued to laugh before we just sat there, enjoying the others company while looking at the surprisingly blue sky. It was nearing the end of September and the weather was getting worse but today as we looked up, it seemed to be Summer. I was unsure whether it was because it was actually warm or because of something else... "It''s a pretty nice day for the end of September, huh?" Anna absentmindedly spoke as she lazily opened a can of Sprite and took a small sip. I smirked, taking a can of Sprite for my self, "Took the words right out of my mouth, Anna...You sure you haven''t been absorbing some psychic''s powers?" my grin took on a teasing look as I looked at Anna from the corner of my eye. She snorted before seemingly getting nervous about something. Noticing it, I raised an eyebrow. "What''s up, Anna? You suddenly went all, well, I''ll say clammy for the lack of a better word," I chuckled a little toward the end of what I said but the worried look didn''t leave my face. I had grown quite...attached to Anna these last few weeks. She was a pretty hurt person, deep down at least, and I wanted to help her move past it and become as strong as I know she could be. But that only worked if she let me help, I guess. If she didn''t want my help, I''d be fine with her decision as well. It''s not my decision at the end of the day. Anyway, back to the pending question. Anna looked even more nervous after what I asked and her timid and shy demeanor was back. "W-well, you see, Michael...I never did properly thank you for helping me back then against Jennifer..." her voice faded off as she turned her head away from my direction. But I could tell she was embarrassed by her ears which were slowly turning red. My worried face melted away, replaced by a gentle smile. "You don''t need to thank me, Anna. You wouldn''t have gotten hurt anyway, remember? So, all I did was get in the way for nothing...like an idiot..." I scratched my cheek, which was slowly turning red showing me it was my turn to be embarrassed. But hearing what I said, Anna quickly turned her head to face me, her adorable red face showing traces of...anger? "Don''t call yourself an idiot for trying to help me when I needed it! And even if it wouldn''t have k-killed me, it''s the thought that counts. It shows that you care for your friends!" she paused unsure if she should continue but she did anyway, "A-anyway, I''d do the s-same thing for you..." For some reason unknown to me, I blushed at what Anna just said and felt a warm rush in my chest. What...what is this feeling? It''s like my Holy Fire... Marveling at the feeling, I didn''t notice that Anna was even redder, her green eyes seemingly entranced by my embarrassed face, something she didn''t get to see too often. Anna suddenly coughed, bringing us both out of our stupors. "W-well, anyway!" she spoke loudly, as if to shake herself out of a stupor, while also shaking her head in an endearing way which made me smile gently at the image in front of me. Not looking at me, Anna carried on, "What I''m trying to say is...if you, you know, need anything from me, just ask, okay?" her emerald eyes looked into my red ones. Her eyes showed a strange look of vulnerability as she carried on, "We could even go out for a meal...I''ll pay, of course! As thanks, yeah, we can go for a meal as my thanks to you!" she seemed incredibly flustered but she didn''t break eye contact and neither did I. I was a bit surprised she''d asked this, to be honest. Mainly because it sounded kind of like she was asking me out on a...date? That couldn''t be, right? Maybe I''m just reading too far into things... Bringing myself out of my thought process, I simply nodded at her, "...Yeah, I''d like that," after I finished speaking, both of us went quiet. It wasn''t an awkward silence, which I was expecting, but more like the silence that was calming. We had each said what we needed to, now we could just relax with each other without worry. Anna was the first to break eye contact as she hurriedly looked away and started chugging her can of soda. I smirked at this, feeling that I wanted to tease her, but I kept that tendency suppressed as I drank from my own can, leaning back on to one of my outstretched arms and relaxing while looking at the sky. As I looked up, I saw something approaching and squinted my eyes. I used my Sage Force to focus my eyes before using my Strength Force to strengthen my eyesight. What I saw made my curse under my breath... "...Gee-f*cking-thanks Thor..." knowing what was incoming and how it''d ruin the atmosphere, I looked over at Anna who was looking at me with a tilted head as she''d heard what I said, "Sorry, Anna, but I think us hanging out will have to wait for another day, my...mentor? Yeah, let''s go with that, my mentor''s about to make an entrance..." my voice was quite grumpy as I glared at the rapidly approaching figure. Anna had a confused look on her face before she looked up at the sky like me but she couldn''t see anything. I wasn''t surprised she couldn''t see anything, Thor was moving faster than a normal eye like Anna''s could see. Before we both knew it, a big, blond man was half-kneeling, half-standing in front of us. In majestic armor and adorned with a red cape, oh and his famous hammer held in one of his hands, who else could it be but Thor? I slowly stood up to greet him, "How ya doing, Thor?" I got out before the massive Nordic man came up and bear hugged the life out of me. "Hahaha! Michael, my boy, you''ve grown in height, width, and muscle since I last saw you, wonderful!" Thor boisterously laughed as he nearly broke my back. What he said was true, I had grown an inch in height and my shoulders got broader with the increase. The ''extra'' muscle was just an illusion, my body was just bigger, so the muscles got slightly bigger in proportion. Luckily I still had my perfect muscles that balanced on the line between too lean and too bulky - they were just right. I didn''t to be some kind of grotesque muscle monster, after all, so I was pretty happy I wasn''t becoming one. "Well...yeah...but...I''m about...to be dead...if you don''t let me go...you, big oaf...." I got out through strained teeth, I was truly caught off guard by his bear hugs every time he did them. He quickly released me before slapping my shoulder, "Sorry about that, Michael, I was just happy to see my student after nearly a month of no training! But do not fear, I''m here to resume our training!" he grinned before shaking me back and forth. With my current strength I could probably stop him from shaking me but knowing his personality it''d just devolve into a contest of strength and I''d really be dying then...plus I didn''t want to embarrass myself in front of Anna... But by how she was stifling her laughter, I could tell I''d already done that. Though I did see the questioning look in her eye. "Ah, okay...where are we going to do the training? S.H.I.E.L.D HQ?" I asked as the shaking came to an end. I made sure to back away from him and stand next to Anna. Thor let out a laugh for some reason before crossing his arms triumphantly, "Nay! We''ll be training in Asgard! The Valkyries wish to train you as well, especially after I told them who you are and how you use a Spear as a weapon!" Hearing him, I went solid for a second. Asgard? Valkyries? Training with both Thor and the Valkyries? I can''t remember but did I seriously p*ss off some big figures in my past life? Do you wish for me to die in this life as well as the last? But despite my internal whining, my blood was beginning to boil and a smile had adorned my lips, showing off my battle intent. "Okay, I''ll come with you but first I have to see of my friend, then tell Nat I''m going to Asgard so she can tell the school I won''t be in for a while," I met eyes with Thor before he nodded and replied. "See your friend out, but you need not to tell Agent Romanoff, she''s already been informed!" he smiled at me before walking away from the two of us. I turned to Anna, only to see her look at me with raised eyebrows and a suspicious look, " ''I don''t know any Superheroes,'' you said, ''Why would I know Superheroes,'' you said...still wanna lie, Michael?" Anna''s face was smiling but her eyes weren''t...they were kinda scary. "H-hahaha, yeah, sorry about that..." knowing my mistake I apologized but my eyes widened as I realized something, "...Please don''t tell Miles and Gwen," I pleadingly looked at Anna who had a rarely seen teasing smile on her face and a smug look that said ''I hold the power now!''. "Well~ If you promise to hang out with me soon, I might just forget about Thor dropping out of the sky and calling you his student~" she grinned up at me but I was glad she was so straightforward with her ''demand''. I let out a sigh of relief before nodding at Anna, "Yeah, of course, I''ll hang out with you!" I smiled before whispering under my breath, "...thank god it was an easy request..." "What was that, Michael?" Anna raised an eyebrow at me to which I deadpanned her. "You''re hearing things, I think, Anna," my poker face was built up through games of poker with Cap and Nat, it was unbreakable. Anna eyed me suspiciously but she let it go in the end, "Okay, I''ll be on my way now, and I''m taking the refreshments," she shook the bag she was no holding, "Enjoy your training~!" she teasingly said before walking off to the roof exit. She turned around once more and waved goodbye, I waved back and before I knew it she was gone. I looked over at Thor before he nodded and grabbed me by the shoulder. He looked up and yelled out with a smile, "Heimdall, bring us to Asgard!" as his yell finished echoing around the neighborhood, a flash of rainbow colors shot down from the sky and sucked us up and into the sky where we shot off to Asgard. 18 Asgard and Meeting Some Unexpected People As I flew through the Bifrost, I wondered about what kind of Asgard I''d see, and by extension, what kind of Heimdall I''d see. Over the 2 and a half months that I''ve been here, it''d be stupid of me to not have figured out what universe I was in. The conclusion I''ve come to is that the Universe I''m in follows the timeline of the MCU but because this is real life and not some movie franchise, everything to do with Marvel is here. There''s no need to have the rights for a character, they''re just here. Meaning this is the MCU but with all of its intended characters. Take, for example, She-Hulk or Jennifer Walters, she wasn''t in the MCU but she''s definitely in this world. So I came to the conclusion that I''m in a Universe which mixes the MCU timeline with the Marvel Comic''s extended universe. Everyone seems to be closer to their comic book counterparts but there are definite shows of the MCU in terms of their appearances and ''costumes''. My thinking was suddenly brought to an end when we suddenly appeared in a golden room. In the center of the room was a raised platform. On the said platform, a tall, dark-skinned man looked down at us with his orange-colored eyes. He was wearing golden armor which still glinted despite the lack of light in the room. He gave off an aura of constant-calm and a sort of omnipresence which unsettled me. But I didn''t let it get to me as I knew who this was, he was-- "Heimdall, my friend! Thank you for picking us up with the Bifrost!" Thor quickly walked up to the man and clasped his shoulders with a firm and friendly grip. Seemingly aware of Thor''s personality, Heimdall''s calm expression didn''t falter as he looked at Thor, "Odinson...It''s my job, there''s no need to thank me, plus..." he turned to me, his orange eyes flickering, "I wished to see the young Nephilim for myself, and I must say, he radiates heat does he not? Reminds me off a young God of Thunder who shocked everyone he touched when he was a child..." his calm face broke as he smirked a little at Thor. From how stiff his face was, I could tell he didn''t smile often. But what surprised me more was the slight embarrassment on Thor''s face like someone had stood him up in front of his kid. "Heimdall, w-what could you be possibly referring to?" Thor had a slightly anxious expression but he still had his usual jolly smile. Quickly wanting to change the subject, Thor slapped Heimdall''s shoulder before grabbing my own and dragging me along with him, "Anyway, Heimdall, we must be off!" I saw Heimdall smirk once more before shaking his head and looking back toward the hole in the room we came from. The hole was looking out and into the stars surrounding Asgard. Turning my attention away from the golden room and the stars, I shrugged off Thor''s hand on my shoulder and continued to walk with him over the rainbow colored bridge. Looking down at the bridge was truly a weird but wonderful feeling. I could feel the energy pulsing through the bridge and it was incredibly calming. "It''s calming, no? The Bifrost is a bridge that connects all the Realms, thus it''s aura is truly Majestic..." Thor let out a happy sigh as he continued to walk with a skip in his step. I wonder why he''s so happy? Even when it comes to training he doesn''t happily sigh... As if he realized my questioning stares, the big man laughed before speaking out, trying to answer my questions, "I''ve been busy ridding Earth of evil, Michael, so I''ve rarely had any chance to come back to Asgard and visit my loved ones...in fact, this is the first time I''ve been back for about 4 months," weirdly enough, he looked scared after he realized that fact. I just ignored it, as my attention was solely focused on the massive golden city I could see in front of us. Spires that reached for the sky, buildings which would eclipse even the biggest of skyscrapers back home. Everything seemed to made of Gold or some material which looked exactly like it. It truly looked like a city for the Gods. Neither I nor Thor spoke as we quickly walked toward the city with completely different reasons. When we got to the gate separating the bridge and the city of Asgard, all the guards saluted Thor by slamming their free hand that wasn''t holding their spear off of their chest. Thor did his usual thing and laughed at their serious, something he has a habit for - not being able to be serious - but before he could start the shoulder clapping, a cold voice spoke out from a little down the corridor which connected the gate to Asgard. "4 months without seeing your wife and your child, yet when you do decide to come back, you bring another child with you...and you seem without worry for the family you haven''t visited in so long!" I looked toward the voice and saw a tall woman with pitch black hair stomping toward our direction. She only glared at me but I saw her death staring Thor and the poor guy sweating his balls off...But it did feel like karmic retribution for all those shoulder-breaking pats he does to me... I took a closer look at the woman as I moved out of her way, not wanting to be a part of whatever was about to happen. She was about 6''2", toned and blessed with enough muscle to show her athleticism but not too much that it would ruin her beauty. And boy was she beautiful. Even with the angry look on her face, her soft features were still prevalent but they each had a barely hidden sharpness that reminded me of a sword. Her icy blue eyes were also pretty mesmerizing. However, I felt no Lust, I knew who she was and I didn''t want to disrespect Thor like that. All I felt for her beauty was appreciation and acknowledgment, I guess. Thor, on the other hand, stood stock still and didn''t move. He opened his mouth to say something but before he could, the woman had come in front of him. When I thought she was about to hit him, she brought her arms up to his neck and hooked her hands around the back of his neck before she went on her tip-toes and pulled him down to meet her. What followed was an incredibly steamy kiss. Thor seemed just as surprised as the rest of us but his relief and joy were still very apparent in his eyes. Seeing the unexpected outcome, I couldn''t help but laugh which I tried to stifle somewhat. Some of the guards looked at me with shocked eyes, as if asking why I would laugh at such a thing. I simply smirked back at them, "What? I thought she was gonna kick his ass, not kiss him...this is the laughter of surprise!" before I continued to laugh. This time a few of the guards joined me in my laughter. Not before a hand grasped my shoulder. For a second I thought it was Thor but he was still busy having his wife suck his soul out through his mouth. I turned toward the owner of the hand and saw a rather breathtaking sight. A pair of golden eyes shining with both courage and curiosity, staring right into my own eyes. Black hair with bright blonde highlights spread throughout, framing a heroic but beautiful face. Her face was a mixture between a seductive beauty and a valiant heroine, which gave off a weird but charming appearance. She wasn''t much shorter than me, meaning she must''ve been around 6''3". Her body was overall very much like Thor''s wife; Athletic and toned while still keeping a definite female charm to it. Though she was a bit curvier than the woman suffocating Thor. She smiled, and I thought I was looking at a lighthouse. How does someone smile with such innocence? "Who are you then, my friend? You must be important if Father brought you back!" her hand was slowly feeling up the top of my shoulder, and I wasn''t sure whether it was to be friendly or whether I was being harassed... Nonetheless, I took a small step back separating her touchy hand from my shoulder, "My name is Michael, you''re Thor''s daughter...?" I finished with a tilted head which caused a small chuckle to escape the girl''s mouth. "Where are my manners? I''m Thrud, the daughter of Sif and Thor, Vice-Commander of the Valkyries," she took a step forward, closing the space once more and would you have guessed it? She put her hand on my shoulder again. I didn''t really mind it but having such a beauty get all touchy with me made me feel a bit...odd. Ignoring my slightly uncomfortable behavior, Thrud continued speaking, "So, you''re the Michael who Father has been training? I''m sorry I didn''t recognize a man of your caliber before. We''ll be getting closer to one another in the coming training, Michael..." with this she gave me shoulder one last squeeze before playfully winking at me. Can Thor''s daughter be so...so flirty? It just doesn''t seem right! While I internally questioned whether or not this was really Thor''s daughter, I realized something - Thor had a daughter in this universe. That was new. By this point, Thor had been released from his ''torment'' and was now over by me with a wry smile, "I apologize about that, Michael, but let me introduce you to my wife, Sif!" he pulled me over to the black-haired woman who continued to give me the stink eye. Seeing she wasn''t going to stop that annoyed me slightly but out of respect for Thor, I kept my annoyance to a minimum and greeted her. "Lady Sif, it is an honor to meet you," I did a small bow before smiling at her, trying to get across I wasn''t Thor''s hidden love child, "My name is Michael Fortis and I''m a student of Thor''s," hearing what I said seemed to placate Sif as she nodded at me. "As you know, my name is Sif, and you seem to have met our daughter Thrud. We welcome you to Asgard," she nodded her head and did a small curtsy toward me which seemed incredibly stiff she didn''t do it very often. I laughed before looking at Thor, "So, Thor, what are we going to do now?" I looked intently at him because I really wanted to start training. As if knowing what I wanted, Thor chuckled before slapping my shoulder, "Do not worry, my boy, you will start your training tomorrow. First, we will introduce you to the Valkyrie Corps and then we will have a feast to celebrate my return to Asgard with a student of my own!" his eyes seemed to light up as he thought about the drinking he''d be doing soon. Not that I could blame him, my eyes were lighting up at the thought of how much I would be eating soon. Maybe I could fully satiate my appetite? (A/N - Next we go into the introduction between Michael and the Valkyries, then a small feast and then we''re onto the first bit of training from the Asgardians! And I know, I know, Thrud isn''t a very...feminine name. But I have based this character off of Thor and Sif''s actual child in Norse Mythology, so I didn''t want to change the name - it apparently means strength in Old Norse which is a good fit for her. It''s also one of the names of the Valkyries that served the einherjars in Valhalla, so it fits her as she''s a Valkyrie~) 19 Meeting the Valkyries Both I and Thor walked like men with missions. Thor gave off an aura of majesty, just like you''d expect from a Prince, but he also seemed to exude joy and happiness, as he routinely waved and spoke to people we walked past. I, on the other hand, gave off an aura of power and heat, like a fire dragon in human skin. As I didn''t know anyone, I didn''t speak which gave me a more stoic look when compared to Thor. But when the blond/red-haired, blue-eyed people of Asgard saw me they didn''t show fear but instead respect as I was walking next to their Prince and my aura didn''t lose out to the God of Thunder. Not that I was his equal in power, it was just my pseudo-Divinity making its presence known. Before long, and after walking down the winding streets of Asgard, we arrived at a massive gate. Thrud excitedly rushed up to it before pushing open the behemoth-sized gates. "Valkyries, line up!" her valiant voice echoed throughout the courtyard that seemed to be behind the gate. With my hearing, I could hear some mock-fights coming to an end before some rushing noises came from both the courtyard and the dormitory next to it. Thor motioned for me to enter, so I did. I was quickly followed by Thor and Sif, who seemed to have entered a sort of staff-sergeant mode - just like Cap when he trains someone. Maybe Sif is still the leader of the Valkyries in this Universe? My thoughts were interrupted by seeing a line of 8 women in front of me. They had varying heights and body shapes but they had their similarities; each woman had a cold demeanor with battle intent practically oozing out of their eyes. They were each beautiful in their own way, each unique. As I was looking and analyzing them, they were looking back and doing the same thing to me. I stood there and kept looking them up and down before I unconsciously nodded my head. Each of these women was an experienced Warrior, someone who''d gone through countless life and death situations. Thrud came up on my left, while Sif was on my right with Thor. Thrud spoke up first, "This is the man who has ''that'' bloodline, and also the youth who my Father has been training, who we will begin to train from now on as our specific skills fit him to a tee," hearing what she said the Valkyries redoubled the curiosity in their gazes aimed at me, but Thrud brought their attention back, "You got that?!" her shout shocked some sense into the staring Valkyries. Each of them saluted before shouting a word I couldn''t understand, which surprised me. Don''t Asgardians speak in the All-Tongue? Why couldn''t I understand what was just said? Seeing my confusion, Thor whispered to me, "They just spoke in Aesir Runes, even the All-Tongue cannot translate that. The recipient must have enough understanding of Aesir Runes for them to understand what they just said," Thor spoke in a sage-like tone which was rare, so I was inclined to believe what he said. I wonder, will I get to learn these Aesir Runes? I hope so. Over the few months I''d been here, I''d discovered I had not just a voracious appetite for food but also for information. I had spent many nights on my phone or my Laptop, absorbing information. This helped develop myself as a person as I learned more than I probably knew during my last life. Though I didn''t have the experience to use a lot of the information in my head to an effective degree. Oblivious to mine and her Father''s talk, Thrud continued speaking, "Okay then! We will have a feast with our new Shield-Brother, before then, feel free to get to know him. My mother and I need to talk to our Father," Thrud turned to and winked again before walking over to the side with her parents. I was kinda confused on why she kept trying to flirt with me but in all honesty, I didn''t really mind much, it was seemingly harmless. Bringing me out of my thoughts was one of the smaller Valkyries who looked up at me with a smirk and a raised eyebrow, "So, you''re a descendant of an Angel? Can you show us your wings?" she tried to come off as cool and collected but it didn''t work as I could hear and see the anxious excitement in her voice and on her face. I saw that the other Valkyries looked at me with pleading eyes as well. Thinking for a little while, I didn''t see any harm in showing them. They already knew what I was and showing them wouldn''t give them an advantage over me. I nodded my head before taking a few steps back. I took off my shirt before stretching my shoulders a little bit. It had been ages since I last released my wings, so it should feel pretty nice. When I was done with my stretching, I let them loose. *WHOOSH!* My 20-foot wingspan fully extended out, showing it''s avian perfection once more. The blood-red feathers fluttered as I stretched the muscles in the wings. "Haaah~ So refreshing~" I let out a happy sigh as I felt the stiff wings slowly wind down. Once they''d limbered up, I let them fold behind my back. I kept the Halo and the Tattoos from showing as in all honesty, the Valkyries only asked for the wings, after all~ Internally laughing at my ''cunning'' if you could even call it that, I watched as the Valkyries surrounded me. One of them, the short one who asked me to show my wings in fact, went to touch my wings but pulled her hand back before touching the feathers. I smiled at her, stifling a chuckle with my hand, "I don''t mind if you touch them, just don''t pluck any feathers, okay?" I winked at her which caused her to giggle. She didn''t hold back because of politeness any longer as her hand darted to my feathers and started to ruffle them. It was a peculiar feeling, kinda like having your hair/head rubbed. Seeing the short Valkyrie''s fascination with the feel of my feathers, the other 7 Valkyries soon joined in stroking my feathers. Seeing their focus on my wings, I smiled, it felt good to have something so non-human be appreciated. Even if it did turn me into a petting zoo... Luckily, they seemed immune to muscular bodies, they were Valkyries and they''ve probably come across every kind of muscular body; Lean, Bulky, Giant, Sumo-Wrestler fat muscle, who knows how much they''ve seen? Anyway, I guess it was refreshing. The short Valkyrie grabbed my hand with both of hers and looked up at me, "I''m Hildr, your name is Michael, correct?" I nodded to her question before she carried on, "It''s a pleasure to meet you, Michael...now, how about I show you our wings?" she smiled mysteriously at me and instantly captured my curiosity. "Lead the way, Hildr," I motioned for her to take me and she let go of my hands before she and the others led me over to a sort of shed. I got a good look at Hildr as we walked over. Despite her being relatively short when compared to both me and the other Valkyries, she was still 5''11" which put her taller than quite a few men in the world. Her Blonde hair, pale skin, and green eyes all came together to make a beautiful and homely appearance, while her aura made her feel like a hidden spear, waiting to be thrust. She seemed like a nice person as well, I wonder if she''s one of the stronger or weaker Valkyries? Putting my useless thoughts aside, I saw Hildr stare down the other Valkyries, telling them she would showcase their wings and indirectly answering my question on whether she was one of the stronger Valkyries or not. She walked into the shed. Once inside, the door closed and I could hear some mechanical parts being fit together and I quickly figured out what their wings were. Despite knowing what they were, I was still excited to see what they looked like. Were they purely magical or were they scientific? Maybe a little bit of both? My thoughts were interrupted by the door opening and Hildr coming out of the shed. She looked the same, apart from metal supports which were placed around her body. It looked a lot like armor. The ''armor'' was connected to two wings of about 19 feet in wingspan. The wings were pure metal but I couldn''t see where they were connected, so despite being entirely made of metal the wings didn''t look too mechanical, more like they were made from a bio-organic metal. Each feather looked as sharp as a blade and was perfectly carved to have equal amounts of beauty and lethality, some would even say they are one and the same. I seemed to be one of those people as the sharp edges of the feathers only enhanced its aesthetic appeal. The wings were a silvery color and as Hildr fully extended the wings, the sun in the sky reflected off of the silvery metal and created a show of lights around us. Despite me being the actual Angel, I felt that the bright aura made her look more like the real deal than me. She did a few flaps with her wings before smirking at me smugly, "What do you think, Michael, do they hold a light to your wings~?" she and the other Valkyries laughed in a lighthearted manner. Seeing them having fun, I smiled. I walked over to Hildr and put my hand on her own ''wings''. They seemed to transmit sensation as she twitched a little as I felt her wings. But she didn''t stop me. Touching the metal was weird because despite it being metal, it felt...alive? It wasn''t cold, no, in fact, it felt like it was radiating heat like any other normal living thing. "They truly are wonderful wings, Hildr...How are they made?" I was genuinely curious about this because of how cool these wings were and the potential for this technology. Hildr didn''t seem taken aback by my question and even seemed to have expected it, as she answered without missing a beat, "From where you''re from, it would be better to say it was made through a mixture of Science and what you would call Magic, but here, we call it Rune Crafting," she seemed to go into a sort of teacher-mode but I didn''t mind and just listened, "Studying the ancient language of the Aesir and the Vanir, we are able to craft runes that use a perfect blend of Aesir and Vanir Magic. Mix that with our advanced knowledge of the Sciences and Metallurgy, and you get Rune Crafting which can transcend both Magic and Science!" she seemed to be quite enthusiastic about this subject as I could swear she had stars in her eyes. One of the Valkyrie laughed before jokingly jeering at Hildr, "That''s our Shield-Sister Hildr, always a Rune Crafting Enthusiast~!" this seemed to knock Hildr out of her teacher-mode as she went a bit flustered as she glanced at me as she averted her head to hide the light blush on her cheeks. "I apologize, Michael, it was unbecoming of me to drown you with so much chatter," she seemed genuinely sorry which I didn''t get, I did ask for her to explain it to me, so how could I blame her for doing that and more? "Nonsense, Hildr, are we not Shield-Brethren? I will listen to your Rune Crafting lectures even if no one else will. This Rune Crafting does interest me after all!" my smile stretched fully across my face as I looked at the cute Valkyrie in front of me. Hearing what I said and seeing my gentle smile seemed to surprise not only Hildr but also the other Valkyries. Hildr stepped forward and looked up at me, "To think I''d have such a nice Shield-Brother...it brings me great joy to also have another person who seems interested in Rune Crafting just like me. I should thank my Hamingja!*" (*A/N - A Hamingja is like a guardian Angel which decides the luck of whoever they look over, so her thanking her Hamingja is like us thanking our lucky stars or something similar.) Hildr smiled at me, just like the other Valkyries. They seemed happy that they didn''t just gain a muscle-head who had no hobbies but training into their tightly-knit group. I, embarrassed from being the center of attention for a group of beautiful smiling women, scratched the back of my head. Before I could speak, I heard some shouting behind me. I turned my attention to the shouting, just like the Valkyries. "We shouldn''t have a feast to celebrate a man bringing back a boy as his student, while ''they'' are here! You could ruin the diplomatic mission entirely, Thor!" Sif yelled at her smiling Husband who didn''t seem to understand the gravity of the situation. Thor brought Sif into a hug. Not a bear hug like he did to me or the other inhabitants of Asgard, no, he hugged her gently like she was an incredibly precious and delicate. Though she definitely wasn''t delicate, it was was the thought that counts. "Do not worry, my wife, I will just say we are to celebrate some nonsensical. When have I ever needed a real reason to throw a feast, hmm? Remember that feast I threw when I successfully surprised your brother Heimdall by sneaking past him, despite him being the Sentry for Asgard and having all seeing eyes?" Sif smiled in his embrace as she nodded her head before letting out a surprisingly girly giggle, "See? I will throw a feast in the name of something non-offensive so I do not incur the guests'' wrath, okay? But we will all know the real reason, so we will be able to enjoy the feast to it''s fullest!" Thor let out a burst of booming laughter which seemed to sooth Sif as she broke away from their hug. "...Okay, I accept this silly thing, but you have to make it up to me, Thor...And please don''t start any fights," she pleading looked at Thor but I and all the others could see the mirth in her eyes; she was clearly having a joke. Laughter broke out as we all decided to set out to the Main Hall of Asgard. First, we waited for Hildr to put back her wings, however. But once that was done, I put away my own wings and put on my shirt once again. And then we made our way to the Main Feasting Hall, where we would start the party. It would be a lie to say I wasn''t eagerly awaiting to stuff my mouth full with as much food as possible. Though I did wonder who these ''guests'' were and why they would be such a problem... (A/N - Sorry about the late chapter, I overslept today...Anyway, just wanna get it out there, flirting and getting flustered by a member of the opposite doesn''t mean rushed Romance is gonna happen. It''s something natural when you''re in front of a hot guy/girl - you either get nervous, flirt with them, or you''re an unfeeling machine who doesn''t have a sex drive. It''s pretty simple stuff.) 20 Feas On the way to the Main Hall, I got to know the Valkyries better. Other than Hildr, Thrud, and Sif, who were the third, second and first place respectively in the Valkyrie Corps, going from 4th ranked to 10th: 4th - Syr 5th - Hlokk 6th - Rota 7th - Skuld 8th - Kara 9th - Sigrun 10th - Freya (A/N - Not the actual Freya, just someone with the same name.) I won''t go into detail on each individual''s appearance as it didn''t matter too much. But the common details between all of them was the blonde hair and blue eyes, along with an athletic figure. They were all of varying heights, however, they were all taller than Hildr which they teased her endlessly about. While she teased them back about their, according to her, hilariously low IQ''s. All in all, it was a fun time walking with these women who had near-instantly accepted me as one of their own. A Shield-Brother as they called it. I wouldn''t be lying if I said I enjoyed actually belonging with a group of people who were like me - Non-human. Not that I didn''t feel like I belonged with Miles and the girls, it just felt...different I guess? I guess it would be similar to saying you feel more at home in your native homeland even if you can speak all the languages in the world and could be welcomed anywhere. No matter what, you''d always feel more at ease at home. And that''s what the Valkyries, Thor, and Asgard felt like; Home. Maybe it''s my naivety picking up again, but I felt that they truly cared for me and other than the Strength and Sage Force they knew enough about me that most of my ''secrets'' were laid bare. But they still accepted me, though I did know this was partly because of the fact I''m an Angel. Not that I care too much about that fact. I guess what I''m trying to say is that I like it here. Outside of my own head, the group of us had finally arrived at the Main Hall with Thor stopping me from walking into a wooden wall as I was thinking too much. This obviously caused a round of teasing from the Valkyries, especially Thrud who was in her big-sister teasing mode or something weirdly flirty like that. "Hmm? Do you need one of your Shield-Sister''s to guide you, Michael~?" Thrud said this as she hugged my arm with a teasing smile. She wasn''t wearing any armor, instead choosing to wear some baggy training clothes, so I could feel my arm buried beneath two mounds of heavenly fat. Luckily I was used to things like this - Nat had tried to get me to blush and feel embarrassed whenever she could. Apparently, it was mental training but I once heard her talking to herself about keeping people from corrupting me and leading me astray or something like that - so when I felt the heavenly sensation, I kept a straight face. "That won''t be necessary, Thrud, I was just deep in thought," I smiled at her before moving away from her. Much to her annoyance, apparently, as she started pouting when I didn''t react. Unbeknownst to me, she was mainly annoyed that I''d even pull away from her. (A/N - Don''t worry, the MC isn''t dense like a Jap Harem Protagonist. He just needs time to learn more about women and romantic relations, then he''ll be better at this sort of stuff~) Anyway, after this, we entered the Main Hall where I and the other Valkyries sat down at a table and Thor pulled out a horn from who knows where. *OOOUUMMMMM!* The colossal sound echoed throughout the hall and out into the city of Asgard. Seconds after he''d blown the horn, multiple chefs came into the hall before standing and saluting at Thor. As Thor discussed with them the food and drink he wanted for his feast, I looked around at the Hall in more detail. The table we were sitting on was one of many and even then our table was about 15 meters long which spoke volumes about the room''s length. Unlike outside where the Hall looked to be made of Gold, the insides were primarily wood and stone, with the ceiling and the support beams holding up the ceiling being wood, while the floor and the walls were made of dark grey stone. Torches adorned the walls, yellowish-orange flames flickering in each of them, illuminating the massive tapestries behind them. I thought that was a massive fire hazard but maybe some Vanir or Aesir Magic could make the tapestries fireproof? That doesn''t seem too far-fetched. All in all the Hall looked to be about 170 meters long and about 30 meters across allowing for 3 lines of 10 of the long tables I was now sat at. I marveled at how many people this place could hold but I was brought out of my thought by a tap on my shoulder. Shaking my thoughts back into line, I looked at the person who''d tapped me and saw Hildr looking at me with a curious gaze. "Wonderful, isn''t it? I have many wonderful memories in this Hall, especially with Mother..." her face went sour and dark for a second before she bounced back and looked at me, "I''ve heard from Prince Thor that you can control fire...can you show me?" she looked unsure of what she''d said, like she thought I''d be offended or something. Stifling a laugh, I looked at her, "Yeah, I can show you, but it''ll cost you," I smiled mischievously at the Valkyrie in front of me. I saw her light green eyes go into thinking before they widened and her face went a bit red, "W-what would you require as p-payment?" my smile grew further as I knew what she was thinking. "Hmm? I don''t want anything dirty, Hildr, who would think a Valkyries have such dirty minds~" some of the other Valkyries had been listening to our conversation and started laughing when I teased Hildr. Some even gave me proud smiles, as if I was learning their ways or something. Hildr got a bit flustered but I put a stop to it with a gentle, reassuring hand on her shoulder, "I was joking, Hildr, all I want is for you to tell me more about the Runes and the Rune Crafting you spoke of before. That''s fair, no?" Hearing what I said seemed to cause Hildr to do a 180 as she wasn''t red from embarrassment anymore, but instead excitement as she looked at me with eager eyes, "All you want is for me to speak about something I love? Then it''s a deal, Michael!" she moved my arm from her shoulder and grasped my forearm with her hand, in a sort of weird handshake. Or should I say forearm shake? Instinctively I grasped her forearm in return and she stood up before leaning her forehead onto mine. This action continued for a few more seconds before Hildr opened her eyes and separated from me, sitting down once more. "We''ve made a promise, now show me your Flame control!" she looked at me with eager eyes still and I was still a bit confused about what we just did, but I guessed it was a sort of promise between Valkyries or something similar. Pushing the thought to the back of my head, I lifted one of my arms up before a red flame covered my hand. This alone got some ''ooh''s and ''ahh''s but I went a bit further and made the flame leave my hand before collecting it into a ball. Once it was condensed into a ball, I manipulated it into a mini-spear. Once it''s appearance was that of a dart-sized red spear, I let it zip around our table, using my Sage Force to guide it on a path which wouldn''t hit anyone. The Valkyries seemed stunned by this ability before they were entranced by the spear flowing around them like it had a mind of their own. Hildr, at some point, had brought out a notepad and had started to rapidly scribble down some things as she watched the spear with utmost focus. The most affected, however, was Thrud who looked not at the spear but at me who was concentrating while guiding the spear. In her eyes I looked like some kind of illusion, once meant to lure her away with the bait being the perfect man for her. Little did I know this would be the start of a very lengthy headache for my stay in Asgard. Finally, however, the spear landed on my hand before I absorbed the flames back into my body. I didn''t need to do this, I just thought it looked cooler than dispersing the flames mid-air... The Valkyries instantly started bombarding me with questions: What was the size limit for the weapons I could make? Could I only make certain weapons? Can I make more than one weapon at once and control it like I just did? Long story short, a lot of questions about my ability to create weapons. Which, to be honest, is exactly what I''d expect from a group of warrior women. Hildr, however, went into a serious mode where she asked me some more in-depth questions. "How much energy does it take to create that? And is there a limit to how much fire you can summon?" she looked exactly like a reporter with her pen and notepad as she asked me questions. It made her look surprisingly beautiful. Coming out of her own stupor, Thrud glared slightly at Hildr, "Hildr, you can''t go asking about his abilities like that! A warrior''s abilities should be their best-kept secret for the ultimate advantage in battle!" her voice sounded oddly jealous and I couldn''t figure out exactly what had made her so. Before Hildr would start apologizing, I looked at Thrud, "Thrud, we''re all Shield-Brethren, no? So, I can feel at ease with telling and showing you my powers. Plus her questions weren''t too invasive, so there''s even more reason that I can answer them," I gently smiled but firmly admonished her. Seems she does have a bit of a temper. Thrud seemed taken aback for a few seconds before her shoulders slumped a little and she nodded her head, "I apologize for my outburst at you Hildr," she turned to me and smiled gratefully, "Thank you for keeping me in line, Michael, this sister of yours is very thankful~" she winked at the end of that so I knew she was pretty much fine. Though I do wonder what''s got her in such an easily aggravated mood, I let it go as she would probably tell us if it was something serious. Anyway, my mind was once again brought to something new when I smelt something absolutely delectable being brought into the Hall. I turned my head toward dozens of servants carrying platters of food, with another dozen or two carrying big jugs full of different kinds of alcohol. The first table they filled was obviously ours before they continued to fill other tables. As the tables were being filled, Thor brought out a smaller, longer horn out of his pocket. Seems like convenient magic... *DUDUDUDOUUMMM!* The sound from this was much higher in pitch than the first one and it seemed to bring a...festive mood? Well, that''s the best way for me to explain it. As I was wondering what this horn was meant for, my answer was quickly given as I saw crowds of jolly people being to enter the Hall. They each sat at a table, talking and chatting with one another but they all looked toward Thor and therefore our table with questioning eyes. Something I seemed to see was that people who looked fitter and more like soldiers/warriors sat closer to us. We were at the very end of the Hall, near a big golden throne (seriously, why is everything in Asgard Gold in color?!). I guess this could be to do with status? In a society such as Asgard''s, being a warrior and how good a warrior you are, probably does decide your place on the social ladder. Thor went up onto the Throne, standing just in front of it. His face was jovial, like always, but there seemed to be a sort of...mischief there as well? What''s he planning? "Welcome, everyone!" his booming voice brought everyone else''s chatter to an end as they all fully faced him. Seeing this, Thor let out a laugh, "What''s with the serious faces, my friends? Have some mead or some wine, eat until your guts burst! Because tonight we feast for the announcement of my daughter''s first mission outside of Asgard!" hearing what he said, I lifted an eyebrow in curiosity, while Thrud furrowed her brows in confusion as she looked questioningly at her Father. It seems that just like her Father, Thrud has massive popularity with the people as they all lifted a glass of alcohol and cheered. All of them cheering together sounded like booms of thunder. Asgardians sure are loud, huh? Using my enhanced hearing, I learned that Thrud has been cooped up in Asgard for all her life, only ever being taught about the other 8 realms by her tutors and her Father whenever he was around. It seems that for a Soldier, and even more so for a Valkyrie, going to another realm to do a mission is sort of like a coming of age ceremony. I spoke to Hildr about it and she seemed incredibly envious of Thrud''s chance to go to another realm. But she did inform me that most Soldier''s go on pretty boring missions for their first mission. Though with Thor as her Parent, I highly doubt that will be the case. Before I could continue with our chat, Thrud got up and rushed over to her Father who''d sat down on the Throne with Sif sitting on his lap. Both I and Hildr looked over in slight interest at what was about to happen. Sadly, before that could happen, the Hall''s door burst open and a group of women entered the room. They were led by two women. Two very tall women. One was even taller than Thor at around 7''1", while the other was the same height as Thor at 6''6". Both of the women looked as if they had giants blood flowing through their veins. The taller woman looked around, specifically at the men, with a look of pure disdain and contempt on her face. She had red hair and cold green eyes. Her body wasn''t overly muscular but you could tell she packed a lot of muscle within her curvy figure. She was wearing a red tube top which fully covered her bust but left her midsection for everyone to see. The tube top stretched upward at her right shoulder and continued down her right arm and stopped at her wrist. Her left arm was left bare apart from her forearm which had a metal bracer attached to it. It was a peculiar style yet it suited her. She wore matching red tight pants which were secured with a black belt, finished off with yellow-golden boots which looked like a mixture between pirate boots and combat boots. She had yellow lighting bold decal going up the outside of each leg, which only secured my guess on who she was; Thundra. "...Jesus f*cking Christ..." I let out an aggravated breath as I turned my sights to the short woman who instantly gave me a much higher feeling of danger. A beautiful face, a dignified expression, and piercing blue eyes. All framed together by beautiful flowing black hair which she let flow onto and down the front of her shoulders. From what skin I could see, she had an olive-colored complexion which only made her eyes stand out even more. She would''ve been a supreme beauty but...the hatred in her eyes and the coldness of her eyes really diminished her overall beauty. I guess she''s a Rose with thorns, huh? She was wearing a full body latex suit which was a dark green color, almost black if it weren''t for the torches in the Hall. The latex suit had multiple yellow lines which wrapped around her body before connecting with one another. I knew who she was. She was Deidre Wentworth, also know as Superia. Founder of the Femizons. And she and Thundra were walking over to the Valkyries with a smile on their faces. Problem - they had just seen me, a man, with the Valkyries. Guess I was gonna have to wait to eat... 21 Festive Brawl It didn''t take long for their faces to fill up with hatred, disdain, and overall contempt purely because of my gender. I didn''t know anything about my past world, other than having the vaguest of feelings about it, but I do know that Marvel is directly based of off that world. From its cities to its countries, all the way down to its culture and the magnificent variety of it all. So, I did know that while Sexism was still prevalent in certain places, it was mostly frowned upon by the world and that goes for Sexism against both a man and a woman. So, for me to be looked down upon because of my gender, actually really annoyed me. Is this how women felt before issues such as Gender Equality were brought into the light? Well damn, I have a whole new level of respect for women who fought for their rights. If before they were slowly walking over with a more regal aura, then now they were stomping over with the grace of a drunk elephant. The front of the group was Superia, the black-haired, olive-skinned and beautiful women. Knowing the incoming trouble, I was a bit peeved but when I thought about a possible fight...let''s just say I might have gotten a tiny bit excited. Before I had time to wipe the stupid grin off my face, Superia had arrived next to me. I was at the end of the table, so it was easy for her and her cronies to surround me. She slammed her hand on the table, causing the hall to go silent and look in our direction. I tried my best not to show my battle lust but it didn''t seem to work as her face warped from hatred to self-righteous fury pretty quickly. "You dare to sit with your superiors, then you think to fight against them!? Impudence!" she went to grab my throat but a simply hand grab from a person stopped her hand like a car hitting a metal wall. "I would ask that you don''t touch him, Superia," I looked up and saw Thrud who had lost her usual playfulness. Instead, she now looked like a lioness defending her cub. Looking to the other Valkyries I saw they had the same sharpened expression of anger on their faces as well. Superia didn''t seem to think this was possible as she scoffed, barely getting her sentence out because of her disbelief and anger, "P-Princess Thrud, what is the meaning of this? Why do you stand up for this lowly being?!" her blue eyes squinted as she looked into Thrud''s. Thrud scoffed herself as she looked at Superia, "This ''lowly being'' is my Shield-Brother! And if you wish to hurt him, you will have to go through all of Asgard!" with her sentence, the other Valkyries stood up before spacing out around the Femizonian women. A stare-off commenced as I looked in between the two groups with a slight dissatisfaction. They had taken away my opportunity to fight and it left a sour feeling inside me. But still, seeing them getting so protective over me was...nice. My earlier thoughts of these girls being my family were further solidified, like quick-drying cement. However, no matter how grateful I was to their interception of the crazy women trying to gut me, it was my own job to look after myself, no else''s. I''d stand and fight on my own two feet with my own power. "Thrud, it''s okay, let the lady do what she wants. Not like she could hurt me," with my ending taunt I threw in a smirk while shooting a glance at Thor and Sif. Thor looked mildly amused while Sif had her head in her hands, muttering something about this being a repeat of the Frost Giants all over again. Superia flexed her tight muscles even further and pushed Thrud back a little. I know Thrud wasn''t using her full strength, her lax body giving away the impression that she was humoring a child. She wasn''t even paying attention to Superia, instead of looking at me with both worried and curious eyes. "This is no game, Michael, these women are trained Warriors similar to the Valkyries. I hope that you stay out of this," she had a slight tone of admonishment as she seemed to realize my battle lust. We continued to stare at each other before she shook her head with a reminiscent expression, "Fine, have it your way...but if you need help, we''ll enter the fray and put a stop to this farce, got it?" Seeing Thrud this serious was interesting. With the way she had her hands on her wide hips while leaning slightly forward, unknowingly showing her abundant cleavage to me as I was taller, she really gave off the air of a big sister looking out for her little brother. If only I knew her real thoughts as she looked at my battle lust... Anyway, she walked past me, swaying her hips as if to hypnotize me away from the battle. But I kept my mind steady and turned to Superia who was looking at me with disdain. "You''ve thrown away your only advantage, you dolt! I would never be able to hit a fellow sister of mine, but you are a man, a mindless savage who I can do what I want with!" her words not only annoyed me but also most of the other men in the room. Some boos came from the surrounding audience but they were quickly shut up with a glare from the giant Thundra. By now the other Valkyries had returned to their seats, so there was nothing stopping the Femizons from running and hitting the Asgardians. Well, other than them only being guests, but such logic wouldn''t stop these crazies. Before I even thought of replying, I turned to Thor, "Thor, may this Lady and I have a brawl? We seem to have some differences after all," I smiled when I saw Superia instantly pale a little when she remembered where she was. She also turned to Thor, trying to see if he was about to kill her or not for her outburst into the Hall and against someone of authority judging by the closeness of his seating to the throne. Her worries were, of course, unneeded as Thor had a jovial smile on his face, "Yes, yes, it''s okay Michael but if you''re to have a match in front of so many people, you must win, do you understand? The pride of Thor, your teacher, is riding on your back!" he stood up before letting out booming laughter. When the laughter ended he looked to the people on the tables near us, "Move the tables and make space for this brawl," he lifted his mug of alcohol which looked more like a big jug rather than a normal-sized mug, "What would a feast be without a few rounds of fighting, ay?!" his shout was returned by multiple booming shouts of affirmation. The tables moved quickly and Superia and I got into position near the middle of the impromptu square. Superia continued to disdainfully smirk at me and I found myself wondering if she knew any other expressions. Knowing exactly how to wind her up, I looked back at her with the same looks as she gave me. They were fake, of course, I wasn''t a complete sexist like she was but still, they did the trick. She went red-faced from the anger she was feeling and the ground around her shook and cracked from the power she was exerting on the floor. As we waited, I took my shirt off, not wanting it to get damaged by either Superia''s attacks or my own fire. This action garnered a few whistles from the surrounding crowd. I guess not every woman in Asgard had seen muscular men, huh? Wouldn''t have thought that. Obviously, it wasn''t like that, it was more like they hadn''t seen a man with such a perfectly sculpted body. Muscles which were both big and robust enough to exert inhuman power, while still being lean and lithe enough for it to allow unnatural speed, agility, and grace. Stature and posture which was reminiscent of a spear; tall, straight, unbending and poised to pierce the heavens. Everything about his body was something which set women off. Not in a romantic way but definitely a lustful way. It''s not just men who get turned on or appreciate the opposite sex''s body, after all. Even Superia and Thundra seemed a bit taken aback by the body in front of them. Even thinking it would be worthwhile trying to take him as a slave... Meanwhile, the slightly oblivious me was standing there, slowly letting the Strength Force flowing to my hands and forearms. I packed so much Strength Force into my arms that the unique armor given by the Strength Force started to form on my forearms and hands. The plate armor gave off a holy feeling, looking like it had been forged from a perfectly white metal which had a unique heavenly glow. The hand part of the gauntlets covered my hands and arms like a second skin neither looking too bulky nor too thin; it was just perfect. I manipulated the armor and made my fingers end in sharp points, looking like five claws. Satisfied with my control over the armor, I flexed my hands and moved them about at the wrist joint. Mysteriously, despite them being covered in strong-looking metal, I didn''t seem to lose any maneuverability with my arms which was a massive plus. Suddenly something started spreading across the gauntlet. Red Lines which were similar to my Burning State Tattoo spread across the gauntlets seemingly heating up them up. For some reason steam started to rise from the gauntlets but after that nothing changed so I lowered my arms as I saw Superia getting ready. She looked at my gauntlets, with would you guess it, disdain. Seemingly thinking this was some kind of normal metal she could tear apart with her own hands. How I was going to love proving her wrong. I swung my fists back and forth getting a feel for their new weight and subsequent density. Low thrumming noises rang out as my fists split the air with their new sharpened and armored look. Instead of two arms made of flesh and bone, it felt like I was waving around a pair of clubs. Some very heavy clubs. I''d found out how to do this when I was testing out my own punching power. You see, the upper limits of my strength would most of the time leave my fists, wrists, and arms hurting, with minor hairline cracks running throughout both my muscles and my bones. To combat this, I realized I had to increase the toughness of my fists to match the output I released in a punch. It took a hell of a lot of testing to find the right amount, but I got it right. The density was strong enough to resist the impacts, while not making my arms weigh so much that moving them felt odd. In the process, I discovered that once I fill a certain body part up with enough Strength Force, it''ll become armored. Hence my hands and forearms being in gauntlets at this current moment. Superia had just finished her stretches before letting out a shallow laugh and suddenly charged at me, bringing me from my thoughts. She appeared in front of me with blinding speed but in my eyes, it seemed a bit slow. An incoming left hook brought my focus to the max as I ducked and went under it. With my head ducked I sent a punch of my own at her stomach. Superia seemed shocked with my reaction time as she thought I was just another Asgardian, some of which she''d probably beaten by now. Nonetheless, she backed away from my punch. What she wasn''t expecting was a sudden rush-in by me. I pushed off the stone ground with my toes, leaving a small crater where I once was. My fist, still stretching outward, buried itself in Superia''s stomach, causing her mouth to open wide and her expression to twist in shock, confusion, and pain. Her grounded feet skid back a few meters as she slightly hunched, gasping for breath after her''s had forcibly left her lungs. Seeing her shock, I smirked, "I hope that''ll teach you to come at me with your full power instead of those mocking strikes...if you don''t, I''ll take you out with my next punch~" my teasing tone not only riled her up but also the other women who had come with her. "Duly noted..." Superia''s face went dark as she charged at me once again, this time significantly quicker. Quickly, I tilted my head to the left, letting a fast jab go past, before sending a kicking a punch back at her. She ducked under it, turning her back to me, before grabbing my wrist and getting ready to throw me over her shoulder. With my momentum and her strength, she successfully pulled me over her shoulder and tried to slam me into the floor. What she wasn''t expecting was for me to flip my legs over and press them into the ground. With my legs firmly planted, I flexed my core bringing my body upward. As I was doing this, I grabbed the arm which had me by the wrist and brought it with me, lifting her up and into the air above me before I slammed her into the ground. *BOOOM!* A shockwave spread out as she collided into the stone floor, cracking and sending chips into the air. She didn''t waste a second as she wrapped her legs around my arm and wrested them across my back. She flexed them, making her thick thighs condense into pure athletic muscle. She was trying to get me into an armbar. But with my arm''s current density, you''d be forced to go through some pretty drastic means to break it. Translation - Her armbar was useless and instead opened up for something else. I lifted my arm into the air and before she could let go, I brought it down using my gravity manipulation to increase the momentum even further. *BOOOOOOM!* Another shockwave, although bigger than the first rang throughout the room. The previous cracks got even bigger, stretching for meters from the initial spot where I was slamming Superia into the ground. Because of the force, bigger chips of stone flew up into the air before falling back down with little pitter-patter sounds echoing throughout the thoroughly silent Hall. I looked down at Superia. Clear disappointment flooded my face when I saw that she was barely conscious. Did I go too hard on her from the get-go? Honestly, I was expecting her to be stronger. I didn''t even have to enter my Burning State. "This fight is over, take your leader out of here, please," I forcibly unwrapped Superia''s legs from around my arm before carrying her to Thundra. The woman in question looked down at me with a mix of pure malice and fear. Nonetheless, she took Superia before grunting and walking off. The other Femizonians glared at me, burning my face into their retinas before following Thundra. Once they''d left, a massive cheer went through the room as fists banged off the wooden tables surrounding me creating a drum-like beat which made my blood boil with pride. Looking around I saw the utter wonder and admiration on the Asgardians faces'' around me. Whether they were male or female, they all looked at me and were in awe at my physical display. A majority of them had seen the woman I''d beaten manhandle a group of Asgardian guards when she first arrived, which while unknown to me, made my achievement all the greater in their eyes. I slowly turned my eyes toward the Valkyries and Thor who were all looking at me with a certain degree of pride and joy. Thor was the first to speak out as he stood up, "Well done, my boy! You didn''t mess around and directly overcame your opponent with raw power and skill, no matter what she tried!" despite him knowing the fight wasn''t hard for me, he didn''t seem any less excited that I''d won. I dispersed the gauntlets and marched over to the table of Valkyries. Without saying any words I picked up a jug of alcohol before turning to the room and thrusting the jug into the air, my eyes burning with the meager amount of excitement I''d gathered in the earlier fight. "To the first victory of the night! And may there be many more that follow it!" I roared, my voice coming out deep and booming like that of a war horn. My roar seemed to shake the bodies of the people in the room as they each scrambled to pick their own alcohol up and returned my toast with just as much, if not more vigor than I, "TO VICTORY!" with this, we all drank from our mugs, or in my case jug. Feeling the burning sensation hit the back of my throat, I relished in the reality I was in - in a Hall filled with festive Vikings, enough alcohol to kill a herd of Elephants, and enough food to make the Blob say "No thanks". This was a wonderful night, or at least it''s going to be. I continued to chug the contents of the jug, making sure I savored every last bit of fruity flavor in the liquid. When I was done I slammed the mug back down on the table and heard another round of cheers. I looked around to see everyone had joined me in my chugging, with certain dwarf-like men looking at me with newfound respect. As if a fight hadn''t just taken place, the tables were pushed back to where they originally were and festive and upbeat music filled the Hall. I sat down as the Valkyries around me started to congratulate me on my win with pride in their eyes. Pride in their new Shield-Brother. What I failed to notice was the weird lights in Thrud''s eyes and how it looked like she wanted to jump me then and there. Oblivious to the near-harassment I nearly just underwent, I continued to enjoy the night ahead of me. (A/N - Pretty long chapter at around 3000 words. Well done, me. Anyway, this fight was to set up some future stuff and to also show off some of his Strength Force powers - namely the armor and a tiny bit of Gravity Manipulation. He vastly outmatched Superia, so it was never gonna be a long fight, and unless her and Thundra teamed up, she (Superia) wouldn''t be able to take him down in his base-form with his gauntlets (which is what he was in for this fight). Even then it''d only be a fair fight, she wouldn''t win outright.) 22 Before Training Slowly my consciousness came back to me along with a piercing headache. It felt like Mjolnir had been repeatedly hitting my head or something. Suddenly, memories flooded my head and I let my head hit the comfortable floor underneath me in part-happy remembrance and part-embarrassment over what I remembered. After I downed that Jug of alcohol, I kept drinking and eating while also talking with the Valkyries around me. Mainly about fighting techniques and workout routines but also about me and my life so far. When they learned that I barely had any memories to my name and only remember anything past the time I woke up in S.H.I.E.L.D HQ, they all gasped for some reason. Thrud even went as far as to try and...console me? Ah, no, she went as far as to offer to, and I quote, "Make some new, more interesting memories together," ended with a wink. I just can''t believe she''s the daughter of Thor, someone who seemed so incredibly dense to anything sexual. Luckily, the other Valkyries sincerely said they would help make my time on Asgard a memorable time for me, and help me possibly revive some of my lost memories. Despite knowing their actions would account for nothing - I''d tried to jog my memory with an assortment of things, but alas, nothing worked - it was the thought that counted anyway, right? Knowing I had people who would try to help me as much as the Valkyries were saying they would, truly warmed my heart. After this chat and getting a hell of a lot more drunk, a few brawls started breaking out.I didn''t join in on these brawls as I knew there wouldn''t be any fun in them, but this didn''t stop me from having fun watching two people beat the ever-living sh*t out of one another. Man Vs Man, Woman Vs Woman, Man Vs Woman, everyone had a brawl. But as soon as it started getting a bit messy, I had a brilliant idea. I got everyone''s attention and proposed said brilliant idea. Do you want to know that the idea was? An arm-wrestling match. Yep, doesn''t seem like much but boy did it get the Asgardians incredibly excited. Everyone who wanted to join and have a go got in a circle surrounding my table. I decided to start it off by challenging whoever thought they could beat me to come and have a go. The first person was a big man, just over 2m tall and packed full of bulky muscles. He smelt of metal and burning, so I guessed he was a Blacksmith of some kind. Opposed to what I thought he''d be like, he was extremely respectful while still sounding intimidating with his gruff voice. He sat down opposite me and we grasped each other hands. Hildr who sat beside me now counted us in and on the count of 3, we both pushed against each other. I obviously didn''t use my full strength otherwise I''d have broken the poor man''s arm, but I still put on a show to get the crowd riled up. After ''straining'' I finally put the man''s hand to the table, before drinking some more strong alcohol and daring someone else to come and give it a shot. This led to the arm-wrestling competition to stray away from being a competition between everyone and becoming a competition of everyone solely against me. Asgardians of all sizes and genders came up against me and gave it a shot. But after I won so many bouts, they all gave up and named me the Champion. Even the Valkyries wouldn''t give it a shot as they somehow seemed to know I wasn''t giving it my all. Well, all the Valkyries didn''t try but one. Thrud. That magnificent woman... A-ahem, anyway, she challenged me before sitting in front of me and clasping my hand in hers. The sudden contact with her hand and surprisingly soft skin, plus how drunk I was at the time caused my heart to skip a few beats before I got myself back in motion and concentrated on Thrud who seemed just as drunk as me. We started off pushing against each other as soon as our eyes met and we saw the competitive spirit in the other''s eyes. At first, we didn''t really try and only put on a show to the spectators who were fervently watching us. But it soon started to get serious when I felt Thrud try to catch me off guard with a sudden increase in strength. At that point, I remember getting a bit serious. I pushed back against her hand and ignored her foot which was slowly moving up and down one of my legs. She playfully smiled at this and pushed back even harder. This back and forth continued until I finally really started straining against her. Luckily, the wooden tables seemed to be made of something incredibly hard otherwise our match would''ve shattered the tables. Thrud soon started trying when she realized my hand was pushing her''s ever closer to the table. She slowly, agonizingly slow in fact, brought our hands back to the stalemate and even further than that. But as I went to finish the competition with a burst of my own strength, I was taken off guard by a sudden peck on my lips which momentarily stunned me and my hand was instantly slammed into the table cracking it. The crowd let out a thunderous roar along with some ''ooooo''s and some ''ahhhh''s in response to how she won. It was mainly the women who did this. Me? I was still in a daze, feeling the phantom sensation of Thrud''s soft, juicy lips on my own. Unconsciously, I let my tongue dart out and taste what her lips tasted like. Fruity, like the alcohol I was drinking but also sweet. The taste made my heart skip a beat. Anyway, I soon shook myself free of my stupor, a wave of slight anger at losing and how I lost taking its place, I looked over at Thrud. She was doing the same thing I was just doing - licking her lips, getting a taste of our ''kiss'' if you could call it that, it was more like a winning tactic. Thrud seemed to see my annoyance and I remembered how she giggled as she replied to that annoyance, "All''s fair in War, Michael~" still, despite how beautiful she looked, it didn''t lessen my annoyance with her and how she won in such a way. Looking back now, I was surprised to remember I wasn''t annoyed at her kissing me, but rather why she did it. I...I hope it''s not for the reason I''m thinking of right now. Please, Lord, don''t let it be like that. Whatever. Anything past that point is pretty much a blur to me. I guess it had something to do with more drinking because the splitting pain in my head is telling me that is so. Slowly opening my eyes, I controlled my Sage Force before using it to clear my mind and force my body to burn the remnants of alcohol in my system. The headache disappeared and despite some faint feelings of sickness, I was as good as new. Looking around I saw that I was still in the Hall, and I could see multiple people passed out around me. I smirked thinking that the night truly must have been good. When I tried to stand up, I heard a few groans next to me and realized I was on the floor, surrounded by a group of women. Confusion instantly hit me as I looked around and counted about 6 blonde and redheaded beauties lying around me. None of them were the Valkyries as they were all gone but each of these women was incredible beauties and it begged the question; What did I do last night? All of them were clothed and I still had my pants on, so I knew I didn''t lose my virginity while I was drunk - thank the lord. But something must have happened to start this, right? Maneuvering arms and bodies off of me, I slowly sneaked over to the table and picked up my black t-shirt. I quickly put it on. While doing so I realized someone must have worn it before now because it smelled of both perfume and a nice scent. My nose was incredibly sensitive, so I wouldn''t be mistaken about these things. It was so sensitive I wouldn''t be surprised if my bloodline wasn''t an Angels but instead a bloodhound''s. What use is a sensitive nose to an Angel? With useless thoughts such as these, I walked to the exit of the Hall and when I got out of it, I saw that there was someone waiting for me. Bored green eyes looked up at me, and a smirk which said ''Thank God you''ve finally arrived~''. Hildr looked over at me and waved me over. "I can only thank Odin that you''re awake. Do you know how long I''ve been waiting for you, my lazy Shield-Brother?" she seemed to be channeling Thrud as she playfully teased me with a mischievous glint in her eye. "Sorry, sorry, but I''m awake now...what do we need to do?" my voice sounded a tad hoarse but it soon smoothed itself out. Hildr walked, motioning me to follow before she spoke again, "We''re going to Valkyrie Camp, where you''ll have a wash to freshen yourself up, and I''ll get ready for our training session!" her excitement seemed almost palpable as she sped up. Well, I couldn''t say anything as my excitement was just as intense and I sped up to follow her and so we could arrive at the place quicker. It took next to no time for us to arrive and after Hildr showed me to the bathing room and giving me a few towels and a new change of clothes, she went off to get the lesson ready. I got undressed and practically jumped into the boiling hot bath next to me. I wonder why it''s still so hot despite them not knowing when I would get here...probably some kind of rune, right? As I thought many different lines of thought, even having discussions among myself(s?) through the Sage Forces mind-splitting ability, I absentmindedly scrubbed and washed away at my body. Before I knew it, I was done and I leaped out of the bath with as much enthusiasm as I did when I jumped in, and without the need for a towel, I simply evaporated the water off of my body. I looked in a side mirror next to me and saw my unblemished bronze skin, contrasting heavily with my crimson eyes and hair. Seeing I was fully clean and looking as handsome as ever, I quickly put on my change of clothes. It was a simple white tank top, some simple black combat pants and what looked to be some combat boots. Walking out of the room I walked my way to the courtyard where I first met the Valkyries. When I entered said courtyard, I was two people; Thrud and Hildr. Both of them were in similar get-ups to me, tank top, combat pants, and boots, but they had an extra accessory if you could call it that. The big metal wings I''d seen once before on Hildr were now on both of them. Hildr''s looked the same as they did before, and Thrud looks the same as Hildr''s just bigger in both wingspan and overall size. Noticing me, both girls turn to me with Hildr smiling and Thrud having a weirdly annoyed face. Thrud said something to Hildr before taking off with a massive flap of her wings sending the air into a turbulent storm around both Hildr and me. Surprised she didn''t stay to say ''Hello'' or anything, especially after what she did last night...I pushed this thought to the back of my head but when I made my way over to Hildr I couldn''t help but ask her. "Why''s she in such a mood? She did even say hello or anything?" I felt weirdly at a loss and it must have shown on my face as Hildr started to laugh near uncontrollably. In between her laughter, she managed to get out her answer, "Hahaha...so, you don''t remember what happened toward the end of the Feast? Pfffft..." me shaking my head made her laugh even more and it finally got on my nerve making me have a short outburst. "Hildr! Stop laughing and just tell me what happened!" my frustration was so unlike me and I don''t know why I exploded like that. Hildr seemed a bit shocked at my reaction but not too shocked, she must have been expecting me to get annoyed with her laughing but she must not have expected it to be so soon. "Well, after Thrud winning against you in the arm-wrestling, by, ya know, kissing you..." she went a bit quiet at this before suddenly coughing and carrying on, "A-ahem, yeah, after that, you and her were like two peas in a pod. She even started sitting on your lap at some point but..." she paused for a minute before continuing, "At some point, she asked you back to her room, and in your drunken idiocy you mentioned a girl called Anna and this pissed Thrud off so much she stormed off. You went to go after her but kept you in the room," Hearing what she said I instantly froze. Thrud asked me back to her room, most likely for some sexual act to follow and I...cockblocked myself? For some reason, I felt some part of me begging for us to shrivel up and die, so I did the next best thing. I bent my knees so I was squatting, covered my face and released my wings to hide my body and face even further. Is this pure embarrassment? Because it feels like that but times 100... But Hildr had to make me feel even more...ashamed? I don''t know what it made me feel but it wasn''t great, "She even came back, after calming down and realizing this girl was only a friend of yours, but by that time you were asleep and the beauties who were there at the feast had decided to sleep next to you due to the warmth you seem to unconsciously release. This didn''t go down well with Thrud..." I let out a long, drawn-out sigh before slowly standing up and folding my wings behind my back. "Can we just get on with the training, Hildr? From your wings I''m guessing it''s some to do with flying..." hoping some training would cheer me up and make me forget about my embarrassment, I eagerly looked at Hildr who seemed to understand this. "Yep! We''re gonna be teaching you how to fly and some techniques on flying during combat!" Hildr spread out her own wings for dramatic effect. It seems Hildr''s opening up to me, she''s not as shy and nervous as before...that''s good. Seeing her enthusiasm, I let it infect me, spreading my own wings outward, "Let''s get going then!" (A/N - Some development between Thrud and Michael. Nothing romantic, just lust, I guess....or is it? Who knows~ Mwahahahaha! Oh and I bet you guys are pretty annoyed he didn''t have sex, right? Well tough. I don''t want Michael going round dicking every girl he meets without the emotions being there. There''s definitely something between Thrud and Michael, so all you guys need is some patience.) 23 Flight Training and Talk As soon as our declarations were done, Hildr slowly raised herself into the air with some strong flaps of her wings. When she was about 2 meters off the ground, she stopped ascending and slowly came to a stop, hovering at that spot. She looked down at me, a smirk on her face, "So, do you know the basics on how to fly?" seeing me give a half and half motion with my hand, she went into teacher-mode, "Okay, first off you need to keep your balance, as long as you can keep your center of gravity, you won''t have any problems," she waited for me to get ready, so I didn''t keep her waiting. I sensed out my body and found the best position for my body to stay stable and balanced. When I did this, I looked up for further instructions but I felt an instinctive pull at the back of my mind. The pull told me that I just needed to flap my wings and it''d all sort itself out. So, thinking that nothing too bad would happen, I did as the feeling said. With a strong flap, I flew into the air, shooting past Hildr. My wings folded slightly to make less air resistance and I shot through the air, a whistling noise ringing out as I cut through the air. I continued flying for dozens of meters before slowly coming to a stop. I spread my wings out once again and did what felt natural and flapped my wings in a steady, calm manner. It still required some tweaking but I could keep myself in the air with only minor falls of rises in height due to the occasional mistake. But I lessened the mistakes by manipulating Gravity around myself to make flying a bit easier for a beginner for me. I hadn''t had many chances to practice, as it only took one person with a zoomed in high-quality camera and my face would be spread around the internet as a winged-human. Personally, I cared very little about what other people thought of me but I didn''t want to make unnecessary trouble for Nat and the people at S.H.I.E.L.D who''d have to clean up my mistakes. So, right now where I didn''t have to hide, I felt a weight unleashed from my shoulders and I let myself really stretch my wings. Hildr shot up next to me and looked at me with both an annoyed and happy face. It was a weird look. "You said you don''t know how to fly but look at you now, hmm?" her voice sounded annoyed but her happy smile made me know she was only joking around. She flapped over to me, her face had taken on a curious look and seemed to be expecting an answer. I playfully rolled my eyes, "Did you forget I''m an Angel Descendant? It''s instinct, so I guess I don''t have to learn from scratch as you guys did," Hildr seemed to think this also made sense and curtly nodded her head and went to speak but when she did, a very grumpy Valkyrie came from above. "It''s good we don''t have to teach you everything, now let''s get onto the Aerial Combat," Thrud floated down, her gold eyes looking both annoyed and weirdly...hurt? Seeing her like this I knew it went a bit deeper than me not listening to her drunken request, so I decided to ask her after the training. Hildr wanted to say something but I raised my hand, "She''s right, Hildr, let''s get on with the training. Every second wasted is a bit of strength not gained after all!" showing her a smile, she nodded and we flew up a bit higher. When we reached the right altitude, Hildr explained to me that even with all my strength I''d still need to get used to the thin oxygen levels in higher altitudes, and it was better to do that now rather than later as I never knew when I would be fighting in high altitudes - even if it was a small chance, I''d still prepare for it. At first, we just hovered there, letting my body get used to the new atmosphere. When we just got up here, I didn''t feel any different but as time went on it got harder and harder to breathe and function. But I had a trick up my sleeve for situations like this. You see, the Sage Force wasn''t just to do with the Mind, no, it could also affect the body. Mainly in terms of evolution and adaptation. So I simply channeled as much Sage Force as I could into my body and forced it to adapt to the high-altitude environment. It was painful and felt like multiple ants, spiders, and centipedes crawling around in my body but before I knew it, I was done and I could know breath fine. In fact, I felt like I could do it even better than before! I wonder how could my stamina is now... Bringing myself out of my stupor, I looked over at Hildr, "I''ve adapted, now what?" hearing what I said both the Valkyries looked shocked. "A-are you sure, Michael? It may feel like you have but that could be the lack of oxygen messing with your head," Hildr came up to me and checked my pulse and breathing with a worried face. The more she checked, the more her shock turned into surprise. She probably found that my pulse was steady, strong, and slow. While my breathing was unhindered and had no problem supplying my body with enough oxygen. Her eyes widened as she looked up at me. "It should''ve taken you a week or two to adapt...we were only planning to see your limits today before going lower in altitude before teaching you Aerial Combat..." she paused for a minute before flapping back over to Thrud''s side. She turned back to me and smiled slightly, "Oh well, this puts us way ahead of schedule, and that''s good! So, should we move onto the Aerial Combat?" she seemed a bit excited and summoned a spear from God knows where. But I smiled in return and summoned my own red spear made of fire. It was the same as the one I usually made, around 215cm in length with a strong but flexible pole and a sharp blade which glinted in a red light from the sun above us. (A/N - Imagine Gae Bolg, the spear that Lancer uses in Fate/Stay Night~) Hildr and even Thrud look at the spear, admiring both the simplicity and beauty of the weapon I''d created. But that didn''t stay for long as Thrud flew off to the side while Hildr suddenly charged at me. As she was charging she started to lecture me. "First thing you need to get used to with Aerial Combat is the 3 Dimensional and fluid nature of fights," she threw a thrust at me which I went to knock away but her thrust was nothing but a feint as she flew over me and sent a thrust at my back. I spun around with a flap of one of my wings and diverted the lightning fast thrust with the side of my spear. While I was diverted her spear, I didn''t see the curled metal wing rapidly uncurling right next to me and before I knew it I''d been hit and sent flying back a few meters. My head was spinning a little bit, not having any ground to hold me up after getting hit making my recovery a little slower than usual. But that slow recovery was all Hildr needed. She charged in before sending a myriad of blurred thrusts. Each thrust of hers seemed to become a snake with a mind of its own. Every time I tried to divert one, it''d somehow curve around my spear and strike at me still. The spear Hildr was using seemed to be blunt as she''d hit me multiple times with her spear and yet I wasn''t cut. And while I was proud of my defense, it wasn''t to the point that I couldn''t be left unharmed by weapons made for a Valkyrie. Knowing I wouldn''t be able to beat her in technique, I tried to overpower her with strong thrusts that she couldn''t block or counter, she could only dodge letting me finally get some rest against her weird thrusts. Taking note from her, I made it so my spear''s blade was dull as well. This didn''t mean it wouldn''t hurt her, just that it wouldn''t impale her. But my breather came to an end when Hildr spoke out, "Tag in, Thrud~!" she seemingly disappeared and what replaced her was the still-annoyed Thrud. She had a spear and a shield and simply lifted her shield up to block my thrust. Her shield felt like a gooey liquid and my spear got stuck in it. While it was stuck, Thrud sent out a sweep at my midsection, but I wasn''t going to let her and de-summoned the blade of my spear, leaving me with a pole. That''s I needed. You see, Hildr was something I struggle against - a technical fighter. She didn''t use raw power like me but brilliant skill, and that was quite hard to counter. Say if this was a fist fight, and on the ground, I''d be able to deal with her. But we were using spears and were in an environment where I''d never fought in before, so I couldn''t. I made a mental note to train with my spear even harder than before instead of just doing as a hobby. But back to Thrud. I brought my leg up and filled it with Strength Force, causing armor similar to the gauntlets to appear on my lower leg and foot. I kicked the spear out of its path with my stomach, knocking Thrud''s balance off, before I let the momentum of my kick carry me as I copied Hildr''s earlier move and rapidly curled and then uncurled my wing, hitting Thrud with a solid hit. She went flying back with a disorganized appearance but she had a small smile on her face. I was wondering where this came from but she started charging at me, sending powerful thrusts and sweeps my way, while occasionally throwing in a shield bash here and there. I had ''grew'' back my spearhead by this point and engaged her in combat. When she thought that I''d gotten familiar enough with his fighting style she started to speed around me, using her superior flying experience and skill to attack me from all sorts of odd angles. But I was slowly but surely improving because of this. After a while of doing this with Thrud and then having Hildr come in and beat me up with her technique, we went down to the courtyard again. Despite being in the sky and having the clearest view of the sun, we didn''t quite realize we''d been training for hours. So, when we landed Hildr asked if we wanted to go for something to eat. I instantly agreed, having worked up quite the appetite but after seeing me agree, Thrud said she''d do it another time and left. Not being giving me a weird look and taking her Valkyrie wings to the storeroom where they were kept. After she did that, she pretty much sprinted off. Surprised at how Thrud''s mood died down from the earlier training, I looked toward Hildr in confusion before walking up to her and speaking in a low voice, "Tell me, Hildr, what''s really up with Thrud? At first, she''s all flirty with me, then she kisses me while we''re drunk and asked me back to her room, but now she''s so dismissive you''d think I just dreamt it all up! And this can''t be all over one rejection can it, I''m sure she''s got loads of other people she could go to, so why get so hung up over my words?" my low voice slowly developed into an annoyed and frustrated growl-like voice, causing Hildr to look at me with a look of pity before letting out a sigh. She walked over to some shade in the courtyard and sat down, patting the spot next to her, motioning for me to sit down. I complied and walked over, sitting next to her. I looked over at her, waiting for her to elaborate. "You see, Michael...Thrud isn''t usually like this," her words instantly confused me - she seemed like she was used to this stuff? If she wasn''t, why''d she do it? - but ignoring my confusion, Hildr carried on with mirth in her voice, "In fact, you could say Thrud has zero experience with the opposite sex. Due to two reasons - One, her father is Thor, someone who is respected and feared by many, this ''many'' just so happens to include most of the males in mine and Thrud''s generation leading to most men steering well away from her...but the second reason is a much bigger ''problem''..." Hildr stopped speaking as she looked up at the blue sky with a slightly troubled smile, which still seemed to be happy in a weird and reminiscent way. "And what is the second reason? And what do these reasons have to do with her behavior around me? If anything, it makes it even more irrational..." Hildr held up a hand, signaling me to shut up, so I reluctantly did. After shutting me up, Hildr continued, "I''m getting to that, Michael, please be patient~!" she laughed a little before getting serious, "The second reason is that she doesn''t want a man who is weaker than her to be with her. She wants an equal who will walk side by side with her, not someone she has to drag along. Meaning her lack of experience comes from the fact that no man in Asgard has overcome these two hurdles. They''re either scared of her parents, weaker than her or both...but then you came along," her words caused even more rampant confusion to spread across my mind. What did this have to do with me? Before I could get any questions out, Hildr spoke out, "You were not only on friendly terms with Thor, the father who is a hurdle to most men, you were his student. Someone he cares for and helps grow which leads to the second point - you''ve been trained by Thor. There was very little chance of you being weak, and after your display against that Superia woman, then you pushing Thrud to use her power seriously in the arm-wrestling match...you could say you passed with flying colors and with how suppressed her emotions for the opposite sex have been, it''s probably burst out like water from a broke Dam; Uncontrollable and hectic, leading to our current circumstances," Hildr went over what she said in her head before nodding her head self-assuredly with a small small on her face, "In simple words, it could be explained like this: Thrud''s extremely forward and flirty behavior is the product of her fear that you - the only man to garner her interest - will disappear if she doesn''t get you as soon as she possibly can," Sorting my thoughts out, I let out a sigh before looking at Hildr, "So, you''re telling me that she...she wants me in ''that'' way and isn''t just a massive flirt? But she flirts with me so much because she thinks if she doesn''t get with me, I''ll disappear??...I''m not gonna say I completely understand but I kind of get it. It''s just a little surprising, I guess," not being able to stop it, I felt a light red blush spreading across my face. I truly thought she was just either trying to tease me or was just flirting because there was a guy in front of her. From how she acted, I thought she did this a lot. But instead, it turned out she not only isn''t like this but is instead without any experience and her flirty behavior was only her inexperience acting up and making her rush the process? Seeing this, Hildr started laughing, "By Odin''s beard you''re as clueless as her...I guess that''s good news for her though," Hildr continued laughing. My eye twitched a little, "H-hey, I''ll have you know I have the combined life experience of 2 and a half months, so what do you expect..." I weakly retorted as I truly felt that what she said was still right, no matter my reasons. I let out a long sigh, "Do you think I need to go and talk to Thrud to sort stuff out? Because I feel like I do now. She was sincerely expressing her interest in me and I shrugged it off because I thought she was a promiscuous girl...she must have been quite hurt," I felt a pang of guilt in my gut. Sure it wasn''t my fault I misunderstood, but it would be my fault if I didn''t sort this out and she did something stupid. Hildr seemed surprised at my candor and smiled while looking at me, "Maybe Thrud sensed this kind personality of yours. After all, Angels were known the be nice, gentle, and forgiving..." she chuckled before carrying on, "Yes, you idiot, you should go and talk to her," Letting out a laugh myself, I stood up before saying my thanks to Hildr before shooting off into the air so I could try and find Thrud from the skies above Asgard. (A/N - So, ha! Take that to all the people who thought Thrud was a loose girl! She''s simply an inexperienced and emotional girl who was fearful her only chance at a decent relationship with a man is gonna disappear if she didn''t act on it! Next chapter will be a chat between Thrud and Michael, and some more development to their relations. And before people talk about rushing romance, please don''t. Thrud''s been sheltered for all her life, her common sense is a bit..unique, which will lead to her emotions blooming as they''ve been suppressed for so long. I won''t be dissuaded on this~)
