《Rebirth in the Naruto World》


 1 Rebirth!

    In an apartment room, you could hear the sounds of crying of a young obese man. The reason he was crying was that he had just rewatched the whole Naruto series. This young man''s name was Ren, he what you would call an Otaku and shut in. Living by himself he only played games and watched Naruto.


    "I''m so hungry" he murmured as he stood up with his stomach grumbling. "Looks like I''m out of cup noodles, I''ll go buy some more I guess"


    Ren went to his closet and picked a somewhat clean tracksuit to wear. He then proceeded to walk towards the nearest gas station, when suddenly-


    *SCREECH*


    He felt immense pain in the side of his body, where he was suddenly was sent flying due to the recoil of a truck hitting him.


    "Looks like I''m going to die," Ren thought as he slowly felt his consciousness fade away.


    ...


    In a hospital room in konoagakure, there was an intense atmosphere as there was a lady giving birth to her fraternal twins. She had black hair and black eyes. Her name was Mikoto Uchiha. Next to Mikoto was Fugaku Uchiha, holding her hand.


    The midwife seeing the head said, "Keep pushing I can see their heads!"


    Mikoto did as she was told and continued while holding her husband''s hand tightly. This process continued for another few minutes before the midwife was holding 2 babies, one crying and the other oddly silent.


    "Both are healthy boys! Have you decided on their names yet?"


    Mikoto replied exhausted but smiling "Yes, their names are going to be Itachi and Ren."


    "Itachi Uchiha and Ren Uchiha are both great names!" the midwife exclaimed excitedly.


    "The crying one will be Itachi because he''s older and Ren will be the silent one," Fugaku said. "But, is it normal for him to be quiet?".


    The nurse then proceeds to start tickling Ren, when as a result he starts laughing.


    "Problem solved" the nurse answered.


    Am I not dead? Wait, who are these people? Did I hear Itachi? As a series of questions starting coming to his head, he was getting more and more confused when he came to a realization that''s Mikoto Uchiha and Fugaku Uchiha! I''m their son? I''ve been reincarnated into the Naruto world! Not to mention Itachi is my brother!?! He''s my favorite character! But, I''m not supposed to be here. No matter, I will make sure Itachi and Sasuke don''t go through the path they went through in the original series!


    ...


    One year later, there were 2 toddlers with black hair and black eyes walking and practicing hand seals for jutsus.


    "Big brother! You''re already so good!" exclaimed the little brother.


    "You''re good as well!" replied the older brother.


    Of course, these two were Ren and Itachi. If someone were to see these two they would be shocked. Two toddlers already practicing hand seals.


    "Rin and Itachi will, without doubt, become promising ninjas in the future" Fugaku proudly said at the sight of his two sons.

 2 Element Affinities

    Under the guidance of Fugaku Uchiha, both Itachi and Ren were beginning to refine their Chakra. They were both two years old now, but to Ren, the difference felt immense between him and Itachi. In his eyes, he was nothing compared to Itachi. But, everyone still saw them both as geniuses.


    As expected of Itachi, to already be able to refine chakra at the age of two. I can only barely feel my chakra.


    "Father, why can''t I feel the chakra like big brother?" Ren asked gloomily.


    "Feeling chakra requires not only luck but time, keep working hard Ren" Fugaku replied disappointedly.


    "There seems to be a huge difference between the two, maybe Ren isn''t cut out to be a ninja," Fugaku thought silently.


    ...


    A week later, there was a young boy who started jumping around excitedly, that boy was Ren


    "I can finally feel my chakra! But, my talent is only mediocre compared to Itachi, at this rate I won''t be able to do anything to change the future, I will end up as a side character."


    At this moment Fugaku and Itachi came out into the front yard where Ren was.


    "What are you so excited for?" Fugaku asked.


    "Father, I can finally feel my chakra!" Ren replied excitedly.


    Bewildered Fugaku, suddenly went inside the house and came back out with three pieces of paper.


    "Ren, now that you can feel your chakra, we''re going to test for both you and Itachi''s element affinities. The five affinities are fire, wind, lightning, earth, and water.The five elemental chakra natures are the foundation of all elemental ninjutsu. Depending on your affinities will determine what ninjutsu'' you will use in the future." Fugaku explained as he handed Itachi and Ren both pieces of this paper. "These two slips of paper will react to your chakra".


    "How will we know what affinity we have?" Itachi asked.


    "Simple, the slip of paper will ignite and turn to ash if you have an affinity towards fire, split into two if you have an affinity towards wind, wrinkle if you have a lightning affinity, turn into dirt if you have an affinity towards earth, and finally dampen if your affinity is water. However, some people have multiple affinities, like me" Fugaku said as he infused some of his chakra with the slip of paper. Ren and Itachi watched as the paper wrinkled and then burned.


    "So that means you have lightning and fire affinity?" Itachi questioned.


    "Yes, now hurry and channel your chakra into your slips of paper" Fugaku replied.


    Doing so under Fugaku''s gaze, Itachi moved his chakra towards the slip of paper, when it suddenly wrinkled and then burned just like Fugaku''s slip of paper.


    "Wow, big brother! you have two affinities just like father!" exclaimed Ren "Let me try it out!"


    Moving his chakra towards the slip of paper, it suddenly wrinkled but didn''t ignite and turn into ash.


    Looking at his slip of paper, Ren felt extremely discouraged as he could only use lightning element jutsus and wouldn''t be able to use flame type ninjutsu.


    Seeing how discouraged his son felt, Fugaku couldn''t help but feel even more disdain for Ren.


    "The proud Uchiha clan is known for their fire element, the fact that my son only has an affinity towards lightning is a disgrace to my name as the family name," Fugaku said as a cold glint flash in his eyes.

 3 Disdain and Determination

    It had been a year since Ren had last found out what his affinity to the base elements of ninjutsu, but as he grew the difference between him and Itachi kept on growing. As such everyone in the family tended to favor Itachi more and everyone''s treatment besides for Itachi and Mikoto grew more and more cold for Ren.


    "Look, its those two twins, despite being fraternal twins one is mediocre at best while the other is a genius" Someone whispered to another person.


    "Ren, don''t listen to them, they don''t know anything."


    "It''s okay, I will become a great ninja!" Ren replied earnestly


    ...


    There was a young boy with black hair and black eyes being surrounded by 4 other children.


    The person being surrounded was Ren.


    "Why do you look so cocky?" one of the surrounders said


    "Are you looking down on us just because your brother is a genius?" another questioned.


    "No! I''ve never been cocky or arrogant!" replied Ren scared of getting hurt.


    ...


    An hour later, Ren was limping home with bruises all over his face and body.


    "I''ll become strong and show them they never should''ve messed with me," Ren thought as he suddenly heard footsteps behind him. He then turned around and saw Itachi


    "Ren! Are you okay? Who did this to you? I''ll go beat them up for you!" Itachi claimed as he was immediately angry at the sight of his own little brother injured.


    "It''s fine, I''ll get stronger and beat them up myself!" Ren responded silently.


    Seeing his brother determined, Itachi calmed down and said: "If you need help with anything just tell me".


    ...


    It was the next day and Ren was in the woods getting ready to train his body.


    Since I have a lightning affinity, I need to train my body for the strain it causes on my body. For my body, I plan to have it strong and fast enough to withstand Chidori. It''s a good thing I was a major otaku and ended up learning all the seals for most of the jutsus that were shown in the anime, with this I don''t need to spend time learning the seals and waste any time.


    As he continued to train his body doing pushups, situps, squats, and dashes back and forth, he could feel his body slowly become stronger and more toned as he burned off the extra body fat. (ONE PUNCH MAN!) What became days became weeks and then eventually a month had passed.


    When he went home he fell into his bed and fell asleep instantly, as he was extremely exhausted from training.

 4 The Birth of Sasuke Uchiha

    It had been four years since Itachi and Ren were born, but the Third Shinobi World War was waged and Itachi and Ren both witnessed first-hand many casualties as a result of the Third Shinobi World War. Traumatising Itachi, which led to him having a dream of erasing fighting from the world. Of course, this dream led to him training much more than he previously did. While Ren decided to increase the intensity of his training as he realized Itachi was also growing much faster than him.

    A year later, there was a familiar scene with an intense atmosphere as Itachi and Ren were outside the hospital room waiting for permission to enter. Inside the room was Mikoto who was holding Fugaku''s hand, who was right next to her.


    "It''s out! It''s a healthy boy!" exclaimed the midwife, while holding a baby.


    "Can I hold him?" asked Mikoto exhausted.


    "Sure, by the way, what''s his name going to be?" the midwife responded.


    "We decided to name him Sasuke," Mikoto responded happily at the sight of her son, then she continued "Honey go let the boys in to see their little brother."


    Fugaku hurriedly left the room and came back ten seconds later with two, five-year-old boys. These two were Itachi and Ren, who excitedly rushed up to their newborn little brother.


    "Mom, can we hold them?" Ren asked excitedly.


    Mikoto responded happily at the sight of her two children, "Sure" as she gave Sasuke to Ren and Itachi to carry.


    Fugaku then solemnly said, "As you two are his older brothers, you will need to take care of him in the future".


    Both Ren and Itachi responded with a "Yes Sir!" as they continued to hold Sasuke.


    ...


    Standing at the Uchiha lake were Itachi and Fugaku.


    "Itachi, I''m going to teach you the Uchiha''s Fireball Jutsu," Fugaku told Itachi.


    Under the excited gaze of Itachi, Fugaku formed multiple hand signs at a slow speed so Itachi could see, then blew a huge fireball over the lake.


    "Listen Itachi the hand seals are-" Fugaku was interrupted when Itachi immediately copied Fugaku''s hand seals and blew a fireball equal to the size of Fugaku''s.


    "Father I did it!" Itachi said excitedly.


    "That''s my boy," Fugaku said while smiling.


    While Itachi was learning Ninjutsu with Fugaku, Ren was in the back of the woods also practicing Jutsu. He formed multiple hand signs at a very quick pace, then suddenly grabbed his right arm with his left, when a coat of lightning surrounded his hand. In an instant he suddenly charged towards the side of a cliff and thrusted his hand through, completely piercing the wall making a hand-sized hole in the wall.


    "I finally learned Chidori after a month", Ren thought. "But the fact that Sasuke learned it only after a week shows how talented he is, but for me with no talent, I have to put in several times the amount of effort to catch up to everyone".

    It was late a night when Itachi and Ren were at home playing with Sasuke when they suddenly hear a loud-


    "BOOM"


    Running out of their house to the sounds of destruction and screams Ren and Itachi suddenly feel an immense and terrifying Chakra. It was the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox, Kurama.

 5 Nine Tailed Demon Fox, Kurama

    "I can''t believe I actually forgot about the nine tails!" Ren thought. "I was too focused on my training to pay attention to anything else, damn!"


    "Ren we need to go to the shelter!" Itachi exclaims while he starts moving with Sasuke in his arms.


    ...


    As Ren and Itachi were running towards the shelter, they could hear the sounds of despair and destruction throughout the village. Dust clouds started piling up from all the destroyed houses being turned into rubble.


    "Ren watch out! Itachi screamed as a block of rubble was falling down on Ren.


    Ren, however, was able to react in time and jumped back narrowly dodging the rubble. But, now they were separated from each other as the rubble blocked the alleyway they were in.


    "Ren! Are you okay?!" Itachi worriedly asked.


    "I''m fine Itachi" Ren replied, then continued "You go on ahead!".


    "But Re-"


    "I''ll catch up in a bit!" Ren said as he interrupted Itachi.


    "Okay, but be careful" Itachi worriedly responded as he started leaving.


    ...


    As Ren was running towards the bunker there were huge dust clouds formed by the countless amount of destroyed rubble.Even though the dust clouds were obscuring his field of vision of the once lively and happy Konohagakure, he could tell there was no resemblance of Konohagakure and this place filled with corpses and destroyed buildings.


    As he ran through the streets he hears crying in an alleyway, suddenly stopping he sees a girl around the same age as her eyes closed and hands covering her face.


    "Hey! get away from there!" Ren yelled.


    But what shocked Ren was when she looked up at him she had red eyes. She had the one tomoe Sharingan.


    "Someone around my age who unlocked the Sharingan, something must have happened to her."


    "Dad is dead," she said as she continued to weep.


    However, there was a blast of rubble coming towards the little girl. Before Ren could even feel bad for this little girl he instantly moved towards the girl, grabbing her and pulling her out of the way of the incoming rubble. (Image the Itachi scene where he finds Izumi and pulls her out of the way)


    "I''m sorry for your lost, but we need to get moving otherwise we will both die too," Ren whispered to the girl as he started pulling her along before she could even respond.


    As they were moving Ren hears a silent "Thank you" from behind.


    ...


    "Itachi, I knew you''d be alright." Fugaku says as he sees Itachi but then continues "where''s Ren?".


    "Father, Itachi and I got separated as we were running towards the shelter"


    "En, go ahead to the shelter I''ll keep watch."


    "Ren, you better be okay." Itachi quietly mumbles.


    ...


    "We finally made it to the shelter," Ren says exhaustedly.


    "Um, I''m Izumi Uchiha thank you for saving me," Izumi said while wiping the tears coming from her eyes which reverted back from the Sharingan.


    "No problem, as a future ninja it''s my job to help anyone I see, my name is Ren Uchiha."


    Hearing her name Ren was actually quite shocked, according to his memories Izumi was infatuated with Itachi and awoke her Mangekyo Sharingan during the night the entire Uchiha clan was slaughtered, besides for Sasuke of course.

 6 Death of the Fourth Hokage

    At the shelter, Ren was waiting anxiously for Itachi because he hadn''t shown up yet. Even though he knew Itachi would be safe as he was much stronger than him, he couldn''t help but still worry. In Ren''s eyes, Itachi wasn''t some character who was one of his favorites anymore, but his real brother ever since he came to this world, therefore he couldn''t help but continue to worry when he suddenly hears his name.


    ...


    "Ren! You''re safe, I was so worried" Itachi said while panting with Sasuke in his arms, it was clear he had just arrived. Then he continued as he saw Izumi holding his brother''s short, "Who''s that?"


    "I''m Izumi Uchiha, I wouldn''t be here if it wasn''t for your brother saving me".


    Ren was a little surprised as Izumi didn''t show any signs of falling in love with Itachi.


    ...


    A few hours later they were told the nine tails was suppressed at the cost of the fourth. Hearing this, everyone was filled with despair, but when the third Hokage stepped up and said he''d resume his position as Hokage temporarily, everyone was relieved, but still sad at the fourth''s death.


    Izumi who was holding onto Ren''s shirt was gritting her teeth and started shaking at the mention of the nine tails.


    Seeing this Ren suddenly, asked, "Are you okay, Izumi?".


    Hearing Ren trying to reassure her, she nodded shyly while a blush came to her cheeks.


    "Oh yeah, since you''re an Uchiha how come I''ve never seen you?". Although she was an Uchiha, Ren found it odd as he''s never seen her in the Uchiha clan.


    "My father is an Uchiha, while my mother is a normal person thus the Uchiha clan doesn''t welcome us so we don''t live within the Uchiha clan''s town."


    Before Ren could respond the third Hokage suddenly said with a solemn tone, "I''d like you all to attend the funerals for all the soldiers who sacrificed their lives to keep the village safe", then he left.


    ...


    It was the next morning, Ren and all of the Uchiha members were currently walking towards the graveyard to pay their respects to the dead who sacrificed themselves. Everyone was in a gloomy mood as the losses were countless and much too big a price. Of course, the nine tail''s incident would also negatively affect the Konohagakure''s position in the war along with the loss of Minato, the fourth Hokage. This could be considered one of the biggest setbacks for Konohagakure since Madara.


    After everyone paid respects to the dead, the elders of Konoha called for a meeting with all the heads of the clans besides for the Uchiha.


    With a tense mood, a man with dark hair with signs of greying and a cloth wrapped around his arms and eye stood up and said: "We have found traces of the Sharingan being used to control the Kyuubi."


    Hearing what the elder said, everyone was shocked and started turning furious as one man stood up and exclaimed, "So the Uchiha''s betrayed us?".


    "It''s not confirmed, but we will move them to a farther part of the village to take precautions." the man with bandages said.


    Obviously, the old man had quite some authority as the young man didn''t dare show any signs of disrespect to him, but he still couldn''t help but voice out his thoughts.


    "It''s obviously the Uchiha! We should exterminate them right now Danzo-sama!"


    Suddenly, the third Hokage, Hiruzen interrupted "It''s not confirmed yet! For now, we will move them to the outskirts of Konoha and keep a watch on them before we attempt anything."

 7 Academy and Change

    It had been a few months since the incident with the nine tails. Now, most of the city had been rebuilt and if not were close to being rebuilt. Running through the streets was a young boy with black hair, eyes, and a cheerful smile on his face.


    This young boy kept on running until he arrived at the base of Hokage Mountain, where you could see all the faces of the previous and current Hokage. In front of the boy, you could see several buildings standing strong. This building was the Academy that was founded by the Second Hokage.


    "Ren! You''re finally here!" Itachi called out to the boy. Of course, the boy was Ren.


    "Yeah, I was a little busy so I only arrived just now"


    "We have to hurry for the third Hokage''s introduction, or we''ll be late on the first day," Itachi says as he starts moving.


    When Itachi and Ren arrive, they line up. Looking to his right Ren sees a familiar face waving at him. The person waving was Izumi Uchiha, seeing her wave he waves back when the Hokage arrives.


    "Today, I am going to recite the poem I wrote. I''m not asking you to memorize it nor do I expect you to understand it." Hiruzen paused before continuing again with a gentle smile "In the place where leaves dance... The fire burns... The shadow of the fire shines on the village... Once again, new leaves sprout."


    Ren could remember the third Hokage recite this poem to Naruto and everyone else in the academy with him at the time, but hearing it personally, he couldn''t help but clench his fists as his heart started thumping very quickly. This was when he then decided to sacrifice anything and everything he could do for the village, as he thought of the Uchiha''s betrayal in the future.


    ...


    In a room filled with many people, there was a man standing up in front of all of these people sitting down.


    A middle-aged man angrily said, "They are sending us to the outskirts of the village in order to keep an eye on us!"


    Another continued, "Even worse, there are some who say that the Uchiha caused the Nine-Tails Incident!"


    "Captain Fugaku, we can''t accept this decision, we should reject it outright!"


    As more started joining in to voice out their complaints against the village Fugaku suddenly interrupted with a firm tone, "You are all right, but after all that has happened, we can''t be starting a revolt or causing any problems right after the incident." Pausing for a moment he then spoke to say "I will negotiate the conditions, but we still must move. Dismissed."


    After everyone left Fugaku suddenly sighed after narrowly evading the crisis.


    "As a clan head, I must support the clan, but I can''t lead it to its destruction." Fugaku thought. Then he suddenly turned around, opening his mangekyo Sharingan while looking at the stone tablet.


    "Who could have controlled the Kyuubi" Fugaku murmured while a frown came to his face to express his displeasure.

 8 More Training and Shisuis Arrival

    Sitting in the back of the classroom in the middle of Izumi and Itachi was Ren who was waiting for class to end, so he could continue his training.


    "As I am now, I am far to weak. Even though I''m able to use Chidori, I only have enough Chakra to use it once. If I could somehow awaken the Sharingan, it might help me train faster. In a year Itachi will have awakened his Sharingan from the death of his friend after graduating early. I need to increase my training Intensity" thought Ren.


    Looking at Ren, Izumi asked, "Do you wanna go eat somewhere after class?"


    Suprised by Izumi''s question, he says "Sorry, I plan to continue training after class. I can''t fall behind Itachi".


    Hearing his response she disappointedly replies with an "okay".


    ...


    The next day in the woods, you could see countless shurikens and kunai lying on the ground along with the clashing sounds of swords. There were two young children at the age of five both sparing. Clash after clash they continued until one of them lost their sword. These two young children were Itachi and Ren. While Itachi was much more skilled with ninjutsu, Ren found the sword very easy to use as he continued to win every exchange with Itachi. Suddenly, Itachi raised his hands and said "Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu" before blowing out a flame of fire. As Ren couldn''t use any other Jutsu besides for Chidori and Chidori was very dangerous to use, he could only dodge. Suddenly rushing up to Ren, Itachi takes out a kunai and brings it to Ren''s neck before stopping.


    "Looks like it''s my win," Itachi said with a smiling while gasping for breath.


    "Let''s have another go!" Ren replied.


    "Sorry, I''m going to go home and watch Sasuke."


    "Okay, I''ll continue to train I guess"


    ...


    On the way home, Itachi hears someone throwing kunai. The man throwing kunai looked a few years older than Itachi.


    "Itachi, the genius of the Uchiha clan." The man paused before continuing "Does the academy bore you so much that you''re ditching?"


    "I''m not ditching, there''s just nothing for me to learn, so I was training with Ren."


    "You''re pretty talented at your age though."


    "I''m no match for you though, Shisui." Itachi paused "I have to go now, I''m going to go watch Sasuke."


    "Is that so, how about joining me with training later this week?"


    "Okay!" Itachi replied enthusiastically as he felt he made a friend.


    ...


    Meanwhile, Ren was still training his body and practicing his control on Chidori. He planned on getting different variations of Chidori like how Sasuke and Kakashi did in the anime.


    "At this rate, I won''t be able to stop Itachi from wiping out the Uchiha and from becoming an Akatsuki member. I should learn some more Jutsu to help catch up to Itachi. Also seeing how natural the sword felt, I should also start learning kenjutsu." Ren thought as he picked up his sword and starting doing practice swings.

 9 Izumi x Ren?

    In the classroom for ninja, you could see most of the girls grouped up at the window looking out at Itachi while screeching to get his attention.


    "Itachi is so dreamy"


    "He looked at me just now!"


    "No, he looked at me!"


    As the girls continued to talk about Itachi, Ren was sitting at the other side of the room chatting with Izumi.


    "Your brothers really popular".


    "Well, why don''t you go join them?".


    "I don''t think of Itachi like that, if anything I just admire him as a ninja, I think you''re theawesome one, Ren." She paused with a blush while taking a quick glance at Ren, then continued "Despite having such a genius as a brother, but you don''t let it demotivate you and continue to work harder instead.


    Hearing Izumi, he felt a little better as he felt that with his knowledge of the world of Naruto he should have long surpassed Itachi, but instead, he was barely able to match Itachi without the use of Chidori.


    "Thanks, Izumi, that makes me feel a little better," Ren said with a little smile.


    "Um, if you''re only going to train, I think you should take a break once in a while"


    "Hmm, I guess I''ll take a break from training today, wanna come with me after school?"


    "Huh? Y-Yeah! I''ll go!" Unexpecting Ren to ask her, she stutters before responding excitedly.


    ...


    Walking through the streets casually, Ren and Izumi arrive at the park before sitting down on a bench. They didn''t say anything, but they sat there relaxing feeling the breeze of the wind while relaxing. Closing his eyes, Ren felt the most peace since reincarnating into this world. As for Izumi, she was enjoying the little time she had with Ren and also closed her eyes with a smile on her face.


    "Thanks for coming with me Izumi."


    "It''s no problem," She said shyly.


    "Ren, are you going to apply to graduate early? I don''t think the academy can teach you anything."


    "I plan to, I can''t afford to waste any time getting stronger, especially with the tensions increasing between the villages."


    Obviously, this was not the real reason he wanted to get stronger, but because he wanted to stop Itachi from going down the same path as he did before. As Itachi was his favorite character and brother, he wanted to do what he could to protect Itachi but obviously, he couldn''t tell Izumi this so he made up a lie.


    Ren hears a grumble from Izumi''s stomach as he turns to see her completely red in the face as he asks with a little laugh "Want to go eat some Ichiraku ramen?"


    Nodding her head, she says "yes." as she starts walking embarrassed.


    ...


    After eating ramen with Izumi, he walks her home to find she lives with her mother and then remembers her father was killed in the Kyuubi accident. Remembering this, he couldn''t help but feel pity for the 5 year old girl, who had lost her father at a very young age.


    "Do you want me to ask my father to let you live within the clan?"


    "I''m fine I feel like I would just be an outcast even if I lived within the clan, but thank you for your consideration." she smiles happily.

 10 Loss and Sadness

    It had been a year since the academy had started, and Itachi had already graduated and joined Yuki Minazuki''s team along with Tenma Izumo and Shinko Inari, creating Team 2. They had already built a great relationship as they''ve been through numerous missions. Tenma saw Itachi as a rival, but also a friend even if he didn''t like to admit it.


    The team developed an outstanding mission record during their first year, earning them the honor of escorting the Land of Fire''s daimyo. However. during that trip, a masked man appeared and suddenly put everyone into a genjutsu, besides for Itachi and Tenma.


    ...


    Seeing the man both Itachi and Tenma grip onto their kunai''s. "Who are you?" Itachi asks.


    "I am not someone you need to know" the man with an orange mask with black patterns responds as he lets his aura seep out.


    Seeing this Tenma charges at the masked man with his kunai, only to have the man sidestep while slashing at Tenma''s throat brutally finishing him.


    Seeing this, time suddenly slows down for Itachi as he feels numerous emotions such as anger, guilt, sadness. His eyes turn red, awakening his Sharingan. But, before he''s able to react the masked man suddenly appears behind him and knocks him out. He then later wakes up to find Tenma and the daimyo''s guards slaughtered. Looking back at Tenma''s body, Itachi starts walking towards his body as he suddenly falls on his knees when grief fills Itachi''s heart as tears flow out from his eyes.


    Waking up Shinko sees Itachi on his knees, with his eyes red with a tomoe, but the thing that shocked her was seeing Itachi had tears. Not sure what happened she suddenly catches sight of Tenma''s dead body, with a terrifying gash across his neck. Gasping, she quietly asks "Tenma is dead?" as she also starts to have tears running down her cheeks.


    ...


    Standing in front of a grave was Yuki Minazuki, the genin leading team 2 and beside him was Shinko Inari and Itachi Uchiha both with bouquets of flowers in their hands as they place it down on the grave.


    Walking away, Itachi asks Shinko "What should we do from now on?"


    "I don''t know, but I don''t think I''m suited to being a ninja."


    "What? Why?" Itachi asks surprised.


    "Seeing Tenma''s dead body was much too painful for me to bear, I feel if I were to lose more, I wouldn''t be able to handle it. I''m thinking of looking for ordinary work."


    Seeing Shinko''s depressed eyes, Itachi quietly nods.


    ...


    "Congratulations on awakening your Sharingan at the age of eight," Fugaku said with a slight smile.


    "En." Itachi was currently very depressed and didn''t want to speak with anyone as he decided to go back to his room when he sees Ren sitting in the courtyard looking at the moon.


    Turning his head, Ren sees Itachi''s is considerately heavy-hearted as he already knows the reason. "Itachi, it''s not good to keep your emotions bottled in like that. Whether is physically or emotionally, you need to let it out, I''ll be here to listen."


    Sitting down next to Ren, Itachi says gloomily with his eyes wet "Tenma is dead, I don''t know what to do anymore."


    Suddenly hugging Itachi, Ren whispers "No matter what, you must never be stuck looking back, but continue to look on forward to see what the future has for you."


    Hugging Itachi, Ren could feel his shirt getting damper as the sounds of sobbing continued throughout the night.

 11 Danzo

    Laying down near the edge of a cliff a young boy with dark black hair almost covering his face was looking at the sky with a confused state on what he should be doing. As he had only had an affinity with the lightning element, naturally other element typed Jutsu, would be difficult for him to learn, and even more difficult for him to master. Being so, it would just be a waste of time. As for lightning Jutsus, because he was in Konoha there weren''t many scrolls of lightning type Jutsus he could learn. As far as lightning Jutsu, he had only learned Chidori and was stuck in a state of stagger.


    Letting out a soft sigh, Ren stood up and started walking back home when he sees a middle-aged man with his right arm and eye wrapped up in bandages.


    "Lord Danzo!" Ren quickly said as he didn''t want to show any respect.


    Ren never hated Danzo like most other Naruto fans because he knew Danzo did everything and sacrificed everything he could for the village.


    "You know of me?" Danzo said as he looked at the eight-year with slight interest.


    "Yes, I really admire you! You grew up as a competitor and friend of the Third Hokage and you''re also a member of Konoha''s elders." Ren said what he knew that came from the top of his head.


    "I see, what are you doing here?" Danzo replied feeling a little happy seeing a little kid knew who he was and had such respect for him.


    "I was up here contemplating on what I should do for my training, I reached an impasse in my training and am confused on what to do."


    "I see, what elemental affinities do you have?"


    "Only lightning."


    "I see, you could train your chakra control, and try infusing it into a weapon. With lightning, it will increase the piercing your weapon is able to do. As we, Konoha don''t have many people with lightning affinities we don''t have many Jutsus, but if we do they''re either too weak or you just don''t have the authority to learn them." Danzo said when suddenly both Ren and Danzo hear Itachi''s voice in the distance.


    "Ren! Do you want to continue training?"


    Seeing Itachi a flame of greed lit his eyes as he knew Itachi had already awakened his Sharingan, but he pretended not to know who Itachi was as he asked: "Who is this?"


    "He''s my older brother Itachi Uchiha."


    "This child is also part of the Uchiha? Seems like I will have to keep a watch on him for when he obtains the Sharingan." Danzo thought greedily.


    "Sorry, Itachi but Lord Danzo is currently teaching me."


    "It''s fine, I have business to matters to attend to." Danzo interrupted while he started to turn.


    After Danzo left, Itachi exclaimed "Wow! Lord Danzo was teaching you?"


    "He only gave me advice on what I should do next as I''ve reached a deadlock in my training."


    "I see, that''s good!" Itachi replied happily for his brother.

 12 Chakra Infusion

    In the same spot where Ren was previously looking into the sky, you could see and hear the flashing and sparking of lightning. Ren was currently covered in sweat while attempting to infuse his chakra into his tant¨­. (Tant¨­ is the little sword that members of Anbu usually have on their back)


    This is much more difficult than I thought. I spent the rest of the day trying to infuse lightning chakra into this Tant¨­ and now it''s already dark. I''ll go home and continue tomorrow.


    ...


    Three days later Ren was still trying to infuse his chakra into his Tant¨­ but had made no progress since his first attempt. Each time, the lightning cloak was created it would instantly dissipate. Because Ren was very focused, he didn''t notice the pair of eyes watching him.


    After his last attempt, Ren turned around to see a young man with a beard a few years older than him putting up a cigarette in his mouth. It was the son of the third Hokage, Asuma Sarutobi!


    "May I ask who you are? I am Ren Uchiha." feigning ignorance on his, Ren asked.


    "My name''s Asuma" he replied while puffing a smoke from his cigarette then continued "Your weapon isn''t suited for infusing chakra into."


    While pulling out one of his signature knife blades and infused it with his wind chakra when it suddenly started making a vibrating sound.


    "These blades are chakra blades, they''re made out of a specific type of metal which is able to be infused with chakra. Normally, you would be able to buy a chakra weapon, but as your element is lightning you would have to have a weapon custom made for your chakra because there aren''t many people who attempt to infuse lightning chakra into their weapons as it''s very difficult." Asuma explained as he handed his chakra blade to Ren.


    "Attempt to infuse your chakra into these, although they won''t have the full of effect of your lightning element, they should be much better than your current weapon."


    Doing as he says Ren tightly grips the chakra blades and imbues the blades with his chakra as a coat of lightning surrounds the blade giving him a little numbing feeling in his hand as he slices at the nearby tree.


    The tree was instantly cut in half with the wood charred black at the cut. Seeing this Ren''s eyes were instantly wide open.


    "Lightning chakra, applied to weapons, makes your weapon vibrate at a high frequency increasing it''s cutting power similar to that of wind, with the addition of inducing numbness with the electricity if you cut into the enemy''s body, this can easily numb the enemy''s nerves, thus slowing him and his reaction speed down."


    "Thank you for everything you''ve done for me Asuma!" Ren said as he handed back the chakra blade.


    "It''s no problem, I''m glad to help you," Asuma replied with a smile then continued, you should go request for a specially made weapon that can support your lightning chakra to it''s fullest extent. But,if you can''t get one made, you can go ask my father for some help, tell him I sent you to him".

 13 Captain Asuma

    In the classroom, there was a joyous mood as everyone was listening to their homeroom teacher.


    "Everyone, today is the day of graduation, I am proud to say all of you were my students!" He paused then continued "You all have been through training and learned all the necessities to become a ninja!" Finishing his sentence there was a sudden burst of celebration from all the students.


    Waiting for all the students to calm down, he then took out a box full of lots as he told them "You will each be assigned to teams of 3 and have a Jonin as your leader, you will all draw lots for your assigned team. Izumi, you will choose first."


    Standing up Izumi walked up and pulled a wooden stick that had the number two on it.


    "As of today, you will be assigned to team two."


    ...


    Finally, it was Ren''s turn to choose his lot. Staring at Ren, Izumi really hoped he would pull the lot for team two as there was only one left when of them were taken by a young man with green eyes and spiky brown hair.


    Watching in agitation, Izumi suddenly hears her teacher''s voice echo through the room, "Ren, as of today you will be assigned to team two".


    She almost jumped up in excitement, but just clenched her fist as she was undoubtedly delighted knowing Ren was assigned to the same team as her. Seeing Ren turn around and smile at her, she lets out a radiant smile which seemed to nearly blind Ren.


    The bell then rang as the teacher said "Tomorrow you will all meet your instructors! Go home and rest to wake up early!".


    ...


    Walking to the school''s courtyard to meet his teacher, Ren feels a hand land on his shoulder. Turning around he sees Asuma with a cigarette in his mouth and next to him is Izumi with a little grin on her face as she looks at Ren.


    "What are you doing here Asuma?" Ren asks confused as he was surprised to see him in the morning.


    "I''m going to meet my three graduates for my team, I''ve been assigned as an instructor," Asuma replies while blowing out a puff of smoke.


    "What team are you leading?"


    "I don''t know yet, I need to check in and ask my father what team I''m in charge of" Asuma replies with a smile before turning to leave.


    Turning to look at Izumi, Ren tells her "We don''t want to be late on our first day, let''s start moving".


    "Ok!"


    Walking for a few more minutes, Ren and Izumi arrive in a classroom with many of his old classmates. Sitting down in his seat, Ren chatted with Izumi while the team leaders slowly came in calling their student''s names. Ren saw some Jonins he recognized such as Guy and Kurenai.


    Finally, it was only Ren, Izumi, and the other student with green eyes and brown hair when the door to the classroom opened and came Asuma came in.


    "Yo, you last three I''m your team leader, from now you will address me Asuma Sensei!"

 14 Tes

    Sitting in the courtyard, the three students were listening to Asuma.


    "Each of you, introduce yourselves and what you inspire to be as a shinobi," Asuma said.


    "My name is Izumi Uchiha and I''m hoping to become a strong shinobi and have the power to protect those around me!".


    The boy with green eyes then said with a cheerful expression "My name is Zoro Abumi and I aspire to be the future Hokage!".


    "My name is Ren Uchiha and I just want to become stronger!" Ren said with determination.


    "Great aspirations, I will test you all on your abilities and will tell you what you need to improve on, come at me one by one! Zoro you first!" Asuma said while waiting.


    Zoro unhesitantly charged at Asuma while he threw multiple shurikens which all hit Asuma when he suddenly turned into smoke and a log appeared in his place. "Where''d he go?" Zoro said as he turned around to be kicked in the stomach by Asuma and fell on to the ground.


    "What are you staying down on the ground for? Continue!" Asuma exclaimed.


    Standing back up, Zoro rushed at Asuma again except instead of throwing shurikens he took out a kunai as he thrust it towards Asuma. Doing a quick side step Asuma grabs his arm and throws him at the ground.


    "Since you are just a beginner, it''s to be expected you charged wildly. But, from now on I will have you train your ninjutsu and taijutsu." Asuma paused to take a puff of his cigarette then looked at Izumi and said "Izumi! You''re next!"


    Just like Zoro, Izumi charged but instead of throwing any shurikens or taking out a kunai she formed multiple hand seals and yelled "Fire Style! Fireball Jutsu!" as a ball of fire around the same size of Asuma came out of her mouth.


    Watching the flame Asuma blew out a breath of smoke roughly the same size and extinguished the flame, before appearing next to Izumi with his chakra blade next to her throat.


    "Izumi, You need to learn how to control your chakra as it doesn''t seem you have much chakra, so most ninjutsu could easily wear you out. Also, learning Genjutsu would be beneficial to you." Asuma explained.


    Agreeing with Asuma, she also said: "While I unlocked my Sharingan already, I tend to faint after a few minutes of using it as well, is it because of my chakra?"


    "Yes, chakra control will also help you with your Sharingan" he emphasized. "Next! Ren, you''re the last one!"


    Hearing Asuma, Izumi and Zoro were shocked as they watched Ren charge with at least three times quicker than them. Under their eyes, Ren mutters "Ox, Rabbit, Monkey, and then Chidori!" as his right hand is coated with electricity with the piercing sound of what seems to be multiple birds, he jabs towards Asuma who has a look of surprise. But, Asuma quickly recovers and does a crescent kick(crescent kick is a kick straight up at the target), causing Ren to be sent backward with a small flip as his arm lands into the ground and makes a small hole.


    "You are lacking in chakra control like Izumi and also are lacking in battle experience. Although Chidori is strong, you have to move very quickly, but as inexperienced as you are you won''t be able to see the enemy''s counter and won''t be able to react in time. Thus you will need to get used to battle more, so you are able to react if you need to." Asuma explained with a serious tone.


    "It''s true, the only battles I''ve fought so far, are my spars with Itachi, but I haven''t attempted to use it against Itachi as it would be dangerous. Thus this is my first actually using it in battle"

 15 Results and Mission

    Laying down under a tree was a handsome young man with his black hair covering his face as he was sleeping, while quietly feeling the soft breeze of the wind. It had been a year since Ren had joined Team 2, and he had matured very much in this one year. Not only has his used to be childish face matured, but he had also become much stronger. Due to his sparring sessions with Asuma, he was now able to easily use his Chidori, and react in time if needed to.


    As Ren was sleeping a beautiful silhouette walked next to him, she was around the same age and also had black hair and black eyes. Izumi had also grown stronger and her childish face had started to also mature, and most would describe her as a beauty if they saw her. Over the year, Asuma had been emphasizing the importance of chakra control to all three of his students. Izumi had shown the most progress and was also considered an expert compared to Ren and Zoro as they were far behind Izumi in chakra control.


    Asuma thought she was just naturally talented in chakra control, but he didn''t know she spent three times the effort in practicing her chakra control compared to Ren and Zoro. As a result, she was now able to use her Sharingan easily and perform high-level Genjutsu.


    Izumi tucks part of her hair behind her ear as she nudged Ren, "Wake up, Asuma Sensei is calling for us"


    Slowly opening his eyes, Ren slowly stands up as he yawns tiredly.


    "I''m a bit tired, I''ve been training quite a lot recently."


    As Ren and Izumi always saw each other during this past year, they had also grown much closer. But, not to the extent of lovers as Izumi was always embarrassed and backed out before she could mention anything.


    ...


    Walking side by side Ren and Izumi called out to Asuma and Zoro.


    "Ren, Izumi perfect timing. As I''ve seen all three of your development, I decided to accept a mission which involves us leaving the village for a short period of time. We will be escorts and protect a group of travelers from wild beasts. Because it''s only a C-Ranked Mission, there shouldn''t be any other ninja or bandits." Asuma started explaining.


    "Yes! A real mission!" Zoro exclaimed excitedly. Spending time with Zoro for a year, Ren knew he was the type of goofy guy who always lightened up the mood and was friendly with everyone. He had also progressed very quickly as he mostly focused on Taijutsu because his body was too weak, and he also learned multiple wind ninjutsu.


    "Everyone get your things ready, we set off in three days. For now, I will test Ren with one last sparring match before we leave." Saying so, he gets in fighting position.


    Seeing Asuma take out his weapons, Ren takes out his Tant¨­, which had lots of dents into the sharp side of the blade. (it''s a normal Tant¨­, Ren hasn''t gotten a sword which could handle his chakra yet.) He then charges at Asuma, as they exchange blows with the sound of clashing of metal rings throughout the area. Blocking one of Asuma''s slashes, Ren does a low kick, trying to knock Asuma off balance, but he quickly jumps back narrowly dodging the kick. Throwing shurikens at Ren, Asuma then forms a couple of hand signs "Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu" as multiple shurikens form, they catch Ren surprised.


    But, as they hit he turns into a log as smoke appears. Suddenly, Asuma hears the sound of lightning behind him as he turns.


    "Chidori!" Ren says, but Asuma quickly turned around and easily dodged the Chidori while bringing his chakra blade to Ren''s throat.


    "Looks like I''m still too weak to take you on Asuma Sensei."


    "It''s fine you''re plenty strong for a Genin, when we get back from the mission I''ll have you three take the Chunin exams."

 16 Escor

    It had been a year since Team 2 was formed. But, they had only done two different things during the year. They had been focusing on training and had been doing simple missions. Up to this point, even Ren was starting to get annoyed at how they only focused on training, but when he was told they''d go on an escort mission he was ecstatic. Zoro was even more excited than Ren as he felt he was finally doing the things a ninja should do.


    Arriving outside the main entrance for the village, Ren, Izumi, and Zoro see Asuma spoking next to a cart full or merchants. Looking over it, they see food, resources, medical supplies, and different types of weapons. Ren didn''t care for much of the things he saw, but Izumi''s bright hazel eyes seemed to start sparkling as soon as she saw the medical supplies and Zoro''s seemed to have a burning fire in them once he saw the different types of weapons.


    Before they could continue looking, Asuma suddenly came over and said: "We''re going to these merchant''s hometown, our goal is to protect them from wild beasts".


    ...


    Walking on a path, it had been a few hours since they had left the village. Along the carriage, Ren was bored out of his mind as he couldn''t train or find anything to do to distract him, Izumi, Zoro, and Asuma were currently sleeping on the carriage. Standing up, Ren decided to go further ahead of the wagon to stretch and stall the time.


    Looking around he could see animals now and then, but they didn''t look hostile so he just ignores them. Continuing to walk he suddenly finds himself surrounded by wild boars. Letting out a smirk he pulls out his blade and rushes at the closest one and instantly kills it. Rushing onto the next ones he eventually kills all of them as he sees the carriage appear from behind.


    "Don''t worry, I just killed all the wild boars in the way," Ren said while jumping onto the carriage.


    Startling Izumi from the landing, she woke up and shook as she was surprised seeing Ren right in front of her,


    "What''s going on?" Izumi asked.


    "What do you mean? I just jumped onto the carriage" Ren replied a little confused as to why she asked a question.


    As Ren was speaking with Izumi the surroundings started to get foggy as they continued forward.


    Ren felt this was somewhat amidst as there were no signs of fog or any precipitation earlier when he was fighting the boars or when he was in the cart.


    "What''s going on? Asuma Sensei!" Ren shouted at Asuma with feelings of anxiousness


    "I''m not too sure, but I can only suspect it''s someone from Kirigakure, causing the mist to form is a special thing unique to Kirigakure mostly."


    Suddenly an eerie laugh interrupted as a short young lady with two swords on her back walked out from the mist with maroon her and what seemed to be pitch black eyes, "You guessed correctly, leaf shinobi" as a smirk came to her face she drew her two swords, "This place will be your grave,"

 17 Silent Killing

    Holding her two swords, lightning sparked every now and then on her sword as she slowly stepped back into the mist.


    "Everyone group together! This is one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist''s special techniques! As the name suggests, they use mist to rob the opponent of their sight and quietly move to kill the opponent, not giving them a chance to react." Asuma explained.


    "Damn to think we''d be up against one of the swordsmen of the Mist on our first mission," Asuma grumbled.


    Hearing Asuma''s explanation Izumi, Zoro, and the escorted merchants were all instantly frightened. Moving towards each other under the instructions of Asuma, two of the merchants were immediately killed with a sword that pierced through their heart.


    Looking at the charring marks on the cut of one of the victim''s wounds Ren came to a realization. "Long red hair, black eyes, Kiri forehead protector, short body stature, jagged teeth, and two swords with blades sticking out the side of them. This person was Ameyuri Ringo of the Mist! She wielded the Kiba, twin swords which were able to be imbued with lightning chakra which would increase their sharpness giving them the title of being the sharpest swords ever made." Ren thought as he got more nervous realizing the severity of the situation.


    Abruptly a blade with tiny sparks of electricity appeared in front of Ren, having barely any time to react Ren quickly stepped back as he took out his Tant¨­ and swung in an attempt to parry the attack. But the blade was instantly cut in half.


    "Pretty good for such a young Shinobi," Ameryuri said with a hint of respect.


    "It''s nothing much," Ren said as he immediately retreated


    ...


    It had been a couple of minutes and Ameryuri had continued to repeatedly attack Ren and his friends. The most she would get though was a couple of cuts on Ren. But, Izumi still continued to be worried about Ren.


    Ameryuri had also tried multiple attempts at Izumi and Zoro but had failed due to Asuma''s intervening. She was able to kill some merchants, but now that they were mostly dead she could only attack Ren and his team members. But, seeing as Asuma was able to easily protect them she could only continue attacking Ren.


    Ren''s body was now completely filled with cuts, but that didn''t matter too much as this was a life and death matter so he couldn''t afford to slack off. Focused, Ren continued to dodge Ameryuri''s quick attacks.


    As Ameryuri''s chakra started to deplete, the surrounding mist started to fade. Seeing this Ren formed hand seals and yelled "Chidori!" as he charged at Ameryuri''s figure which was now visible. Feeling the immense Chakra concentrated on Ren''s hand, Ameryuri started to flee however, Ren chased after her.


    In the distance, you could hear Asuma yell "Ren don''t go! It''s to dangerous!". However, Ren just ignored it and continued chasing.


    Running into the woods, Ren was able to slowly catch up to her as she didn''t have much chakra left. Using Chidori, Ren jumped towards her and sent a jab towards her heart, but with Ameryuri''s battle experience, she was able to barely avoid getting her heart destroyed, but sacrificed her right shoulder.


    With a gaping hole in her right shoulder, Ameryuri turned to slash at Ren''s right arm which had just pierced her shoulder before falling onto the ground.

 18 Insubordination and Worry

    "AHHHH!" Ren screamed as he clutched onto his right arm. Unable to endure the pain, he continued to scream.


    At this moment, Ameryuri ran away holding onto only one of her blades as she had to leave behind the other because she couldn''t hold it and it would surely create problems if it slowed her down.


    "Damnit! That kid was crazy." Ameryuri clenched her teeth while limping away.


    The pain was the worst Ren had ever experienced, as he continued to scream before he slowly felt his consciousness go away.


    ...


    "Damnit! Where did that brat go?" Asuma grumbled as he could no longer hear the sounds of Ren''s Chidori. A feeling of unease swept across his chest as he saw a blade laying on the ground. Looking around there was lots of blood splattered across the trees and ground and a body on the ground motionless.


    But, before Asuma could react, a piercing scream came from his left as Izumi darted towards Ren''s motionless body. Tears started to come out of her eyes while she was clutching onto Ren''s body. "Asuma sensei! He''s not dead right?" Izumi asked with grief in her voice.


    Seeing her teacher walk up to her and not answering her question, Izumi''s tears started flowing like a river as she looked down at Ren''s pained face when she heard her teacher say, "He''s not dead, but he''s critically injured. We need to get him treatment as soon as possible."


    "Now''s not the time to be crying, we need to start moving now if we want to save him." Asuma continued as he picked up the blade that was left behind and Ren''s body while he started moving.


    Izumi''s attitude was given, as she was extremely pained to see this sight. But, Zoro was speechless as he felt powerless as he didn''t know what to do. As of this day, both Zoro and Izumi made a vow to themselves to get stronger.


    "I don''t want to see any of my friends get hurt anymore, how am I supposed to become Hokage if I can''t protect my friend," Zoro thought to himself with his fist clenched.


    "I am so useless, being protected and not being able to do anything while Ren and Asuma sensei were protecting me. I want to become stronger so I don''t become a burden to anyone." Izumi thought while wiping her tears from her red eyes which now had a second tomoe formed on it.


    ...


    Luckily they weren''t far from their destination as they arrived at a small town.


    "Hey you, is there anyone who can give Ren treatment?" Asuma asked a merchant hurriedly.


    "Y-Yes! I know someone who knows some medical ninjutsu, follow me" the merchant who was being escorted stuttered as he was slightly frightened by Asuma''s aggressiveness.


    "Sensei, will Ren be alright?" Izumi asked with a worried tone.


    "He will, there are some people here who know medical ninjutsu, they''ll heal him back to peak state as if there was no injury in the first place." Asuma tried reassuring Izumi as he knew how much Izumi cared for Ren.

 19 Chapter 19: Blooming

    Laying down on his bed, Ren woke up to an unfamiliar place. Looking around he feels a weight on his arm, as he turns he saw a girl around his age holding onto his arm. It was Izumi, looking at Izumi Ren felt a warm and fuzzy feeling well up inside his chest while she suddenly woke up. Opening her eyes, Izumi looked up to see Ren awake, expressing her happiness she hugs Ren with her eyes turning moist.


    "Do you know how worried I was for you when you ignored sensei''s instructions? You Idiot!"


    "I''m sorry," Ren said as he hugged her back.


    But as they were hugging, the door suddenly opened. Standing there was Zoro who knew he had just interrupted them.


    "Um, I''ll let you two continue what you''re doing!" Zoro said as he slowly backed away and closed the door.


    Hearing Zoro both Izumi and Ren instantly let go of each other with red faces as they just stayed silent.


    "Alright, you two lovebirds" Asuma came in while puffing his cigarette.


    "L-Love birds?!" Izumi stuttered while she grew even redder.


    "Whatever, I need to speak with Ren privately."


    "Okay" Izumi responded while walking out of the door."


    Looking down, Ren knew what Asuma wanted to speak about, "I''m sorry."


    "Why didn''t you listen to my instructions? You almost died!" Asuma said with a solemn tone.


    "I-I just didn''t want that lady to get away as she killed many people who we were escorting," Ren replied while clenching his fist.


    Hearing Ren''s response Asuma just sighed and handed him a sword. This sword was the Kiba that was left remaining after the battle.


    "I know you''ve been looking for a weapon that you could infuse your lightning chakra in. This sword that Ameryuri left would be a perfect fit for you as it can be fused with lightning chakra and is very sharp."


    Seeing this Ren''s eyes started glowing with excitement "Thank You Asuma Sensei!"


    "It''s nothing, you''re the reason we were able to secure the blade anyways." Saying so Asuma walked out of the room.


    Looking at the blade, Ren started to infuse his chakra into the sword when the sword was completely coated in lightning as Izumi walked in.


    Seeing Ren trying to train when he was still injured and in bed, Izumi furiously walked up and took the sword from Ren. "No training while you''re injured!"


    "I was just testing something out"


    "It doesn''t matter, anything that can cause you harm, I won''t let you do," Izumi said as a matter of fact.


    "But"


    "No buts" Izumi interrupted.


    Seeing as there was nothing he could do, Ren just silently nodded his head in defeat.


    ...


    It had been a week and all of Ren''s injuries had healed and currently, he was right outside the town infusing his chakra into his sword. Slicing a rock, Ren felt his arm go a little numb as he also felt was cutting butter with a knife. Looking at the cut with the charred marks, Ren was satisfied with the cutting power.

 20 Chapter 20: Leaving Team 2

    It had been weeks since Ren had returned from his mission with Team 2. Ren was now at the age of eleven, and so was Itachi. Izumi had become more skilled in genjutsu, and with the aid of her Sharingan, she became more skilled at genjutsu than most Jonin. As for Zoro he had learned many Jutsus'' and had become able to use Jutsus'' almost instantaneously. Ren had been working on improving his chakra infusion when he decided to attempt to infuse his lightning into his body just like the Raikage''s thunder coat. However, after weeks practice he could only have his arms fully coated, if he were to expand the chakra anymore it would dissipate almost instantly.


    Recalling how long it had been since he entered the world of Naruto, Ren knew he didn''t have much time before Itachi would become a Missing-nin and slaughter the Uchiha. Determined to change Itachi''s fate as a future Missing-nin, he went to find Asuma.


    Not long, he arrived at Asuma''s home. Knocking on the door, Ren asked: "Asuma sensei are you home?".


    With the door opening, Asuma came out yawning, "What is it, Ren?"


    "Asuma sensei I need to speak to you about something." said with a serious tone.


    Seeing Ren''s serious tone, Asuma invited Ren inside to sit before asking "what do you want to talk about?"


    Sitting down, Ren bowed to Asuma before telling Asuma his future plans.


    "I''m grateful for the things you''ve taught me and the memories we shared as part of Team 2, but I need to move on."


    "Have you decided on what to do in the future?" Asuma said with a sigh.


    "I''ve decided to join the Anbu, I don''t have much time and I need to get stronger." since Ren couldn''t tell Asuma the actual reason for him wanting to join the Anbu, he just said whatever came to his head.


    "What are you so rushed on for?" Asuma concernedly asked.


    "It''s just that I want to catch up to Itachi as soon as possible, if I don''t do what I can, I will definitely fall behind"


    "Have you told Izumi and Zoro you were leaving Team 2 yet?"


    "I haven''t"


    "I see, I''ll tell them for you so you don''t have to worry," Asuma said while stroking his beard.


    "Thanks!"


    ...


    Outside the Hokage''s office, Ren stood there nervous before he took a step forward and knocked on the door.


    "Who is it?" A middle-aged voice came from behind the door.


    "I am Ren Uchiha, and I seek for your audience Lord Hokage."


    "Enter."


    Opening the door Ren walked in and stood before the Hokage before speaking, "Lord Hokage, I''ve already spoken with Asuma Sensei and left Team 2"


    Hearing Ren''s words, the Hokage was shocked as he knew how highly Asuma thought of Ren despite his age at just ten years old.


    "Explain, why did you feel the need to leave?"


    "I left team two because I felt the need to take advantage of whatever I could to become stronger, so here I am requesting for Lord Hokage to allow me into the Anbu."


    "What?!" Bewildered the Hokage then continued, "Denied, you are too young for the Anbu, previous rank and gender bear no significance in this decision. Unless you are at the age of thirteen, you will not be selected. Occasionally there are some rare exceptions like your brother Itachi, but I feel you can''t handle the darkness involved in an Anbu''s career."


    "But Lord Hokage, I''ve trained and am able to easily assassinate many ninjas by myself!" surprised by Hiruzen''s denial, Ren started to spout reasons he would be fine in the Anbu.


    "Enough is enough! I have already denied you joining my Anbu."


    Suddenly, the door opened and standing there was another middle-aged man. It was Danzo. "Hiruzen, if you won''t let him join your Anbu, I can let him take the test for joining my new organization, Root."

 21 Anbu

    "Fine! Do what you want!" After constant arguing, Danzo was finally able to get Hiruzen to let Ren take the test to join Root.


    "Are you fine with taking the test to join Root?" Hiruzen asked.


    Knowing this was the only way Ren could change the future he nodded his head seriously.


    "Okay, I won''t say anymore Danzo will explain the rest of what Root is and what it does."


    "Thank you Lord Hokage" Ren bowed.


    Leaving the Hokage''s office, Ren walked side by side with Danzo.


    "Let me explain to you what Root is, Root is a branch of Konohagakure''s Anbu. We of Root carry out missions that will benefit Konoha, the unseen ones who support the great tree of Konoha from the depths of the earth."


    "I can''t tell you any more until you are a member of Root but before you take the test for Root, let me warn you, the test will be extremely dangerous and if you fail you will be executed to keep the test confidential. Do you still want to take the test?"


    "Yes! No matter what I will pass!"


    "Good, I like your resolve. The test will take place in two weeks, get ready for this may be the cause of your death."


    ...


    "Father, I am going to take the test to become a member of the Anbu in two weeks." If it weren''t for the fact that his father was an important member of the Uchiha or the clan leader, Ren wouldn''t have bothered to tell his father about the test he was planning to take. If Ren was able to succeed he would be able to sit in on the clan''s meetings in the Naka Shrine basement, thus learning more and gaining more authority within the Uchiha clan.


    Hearing Ren tell him about the chance of him joining Anbu made Fugaku excited, "Great! Both you and Itachi are the pride of our Uchiha clan!"


    Hearing his father''s response, Ren''s eyes flashed with a cold glint as he knew it was only because Fugaku saw him as a source of information, whereas he saw Itachi as the actual source of pride for the Uchiha. But he still nodded his head as he walked away.


    ...


    Walking out of the Uchiha clan''s housings Ren let out a sigh as he was inevitably exhausted from everything that had happened in this one day.


    "Ren! Why didn''t you tell me you were leaving Team 2 and joining the Anbu?" a feminine voice sounded out.


    Turning around bewildered, Ren saw Izumi panting and wiping her moist eyes. It was obvious she had run over as soon as she heard from Asuma that Ren was leaving Team 2.


    "Did you leave because I wasn''t strong enough and was useless holding you back?" Ren could see the grief on her face as she spoke.


    "No! It''s nothing like that! I enjoyed the time we spent together in Team 2 and the memories we shared will always be within my heart."


    "Then why are you leaving?" Izumi spoke as tears started to form from her eyes.


    "It''s because I need to become stronger, Itachi joined Anbu. If I don''t also join, I will fall behind quickly and eventually, the gap between me and Itachi will form and will widen."


    "Stupid! You don''t need to compare yourself to Itachi! I''ve seen you work and work continuously, you''ve put in more work than anyone else in this village!" Izumi exclaimed as the grief on her voice grew.


    Hearing Izumi''s words, Ren faltered but resolved himself as he said: "I''m sorry, but I''ve already resolved myself and I will continue onto this path I''ve chosen."

 22 Tsunades apprentice

    Heartbroken Izumi returned home as she saw a middle-aged woman in the kitchen cooking food. This woman was clearly her mother, Hazuki Uchiha.


    Turning her head to see her child with tears in falling from her eyes, she immediately rushed to her daughter and held her with both arms giving her a hug.


    "Izumi, what''s wrong?"


    Letting her mother hug her, Izumi just continued to cry without responding to her mother.


    "Izumi, it''s okay tell me what happened."


    Urged by her mother to speak Izumi finally wiped her tears and explained the recent events of what happened between her and Ren.


    "Ren''s going to leave me behind, I don''t know what to do mom."


    Hearing her daughter, Hazuki reassured Izumi, "Don''t worry, he won''t leave you behind or anything like that. In fact, I''m pretty sure Ren cares about you and everyone else apart of Team 2 very much. Didn''t he say the memories you shared would be in his heart forever?"


    Feeling less gloomy, Izumi wiped her tears, "Thank you mom"


    "It''s my job as a mother to reassure you when you''re feeling down or motivate you and steer you towards the right direction when you''re lost." Hazuki smiled.


    ...


    It was the next day when Izumi was walking around the town still a little depressed, contemplating what she should do. Going through Konoha she arrives inside the library and picks up multiple books to read. Reading, she finds out about the legendary Sannin and their achievements.


    "Wow! Tsunade is the most skilled person in medical ninjutsu and is considered the greatest medical-nin. Not only is she the greatest medical-nin she is also considered the world''s strongest strength-wise!"


    Picking up more book to read, Izumi immerses herself within those books as time slowly passes by.


    ...


    It was now noon and Izumi was walking home stretching tiredly. Yawning she suddenly hears "Damn! My luck is so bad."


    Followed by another voice which seemed a little grieved, "My lady we''re out of money! Please call it a day."


    "Tsk. I want to continue!" As she drank some sake.


    The one drinking sake was a beautiful woman with what looked like a violet diamond tattoo on her forehead, brown eyes, huge breasts, and shoulder-length blonde hair that was tied into two loose ponytails followed by a fair-skinned woman with a slender build, jet-black eyes, and hair.


    Seeing the duo, Izumi was instantly shocked as she knew the one leading was one of the legendary three Sannin, Tsunade!


    Izumi just looked at the duo and laughed, but when she heard the duo again she was instantly shocked by what she heard.


    "Lady Tsunade! We need to leave! It''s way too late!".


    "Tsunade? The legendary Sannin?" Taking another look at the drunk woman, Izumi confirmed her thought as she went up to the lady in black and asked: "Is that the legendary Sannin Tsunade?"


    "Yes, despite how unsightly she is right now, she is most definitely lady Tsunade." She replied while sighing.


    Izumi, however, didn''t pay attention to the lady''s disappointed and embarrassed sigh and went up to Tsunade before kowtowing "Can I become your disciple?"

 23 Master!

    "Sure kiddo! Just give me your money so I can finish one more round of gambling!" Clearly drunk, Tsunade told Izumi this.


    Hearing Tsunade Izumi unhesitantly gave the little money she had to Tsunade.


    "Come to find me tomorrow, I currently live at that hotel over there," Tsunade pointed at a decent looking hotel before turning and wobbling back into the gamblers den.


    ...


    Arriving at the hotel Tsunade had pointed at yesterday, Izumi saw Tsunade walk out as she excitedly ran up and yelled "Master!"


    Hearing a yell directed at her, Tsunade turns to the voice with a confused look. She then points her finger at herself and questioned, "Me?".


    "Yes!"


    "I don''t remember accepting a disciple," Tsunade said with even more confusion.


    "You accepted me yesterday," Izumi said with a little doubt.


    "Shizune did I accept her? I don''t remember much of yesterday"


    "Recalling back to yesterday there was, in fact, a matter of you accepting her as a disciple, Lady Tsunade."


    "Why didn''t you deny her for me!?"


    "You accepted her before I could say anything" Shizuna responded calmly.


    "Maybe this will teach you to calm down on your drinking and gambling."


    Sighing, Tsunade then said: "Since I told you I would accept you as my disciple I won''t go back on my words." Tsunade paused then continued, "Follow me".


    Arriving outside Hiruzen''s office, Tsunade opened the door and said, "Hey, Lord Third. I''ve decided to accept this one as my apprentice." Tsunade said with a yawn.


    Hearing Tsunade, Hiruzen was shocked. First of all, it had to be known that Tsunade hadn''t shown in Konoha in years and now here she was claiming to accept an eleven-year-old as a student.


    Without giving time for Hiruzen to react, she just walked out of the room.


    Both Shizune and Izumi bowed and then followed Tsunade.


    "I''ve been shocked twice in two days, I think I''m getting a little old," Hiruzen said with a sigh


    ...


    Standing in the forest Tsunade looked at Izumi and introduced herself.


    "My name is Tsunade, and I am one of the most renowned medical ninjas and also the strongest. Name your aspirations and why you wanted to become my disciple."


    "My name is Izumi Uchiha and I want to become stronger for myself. When my friend was in Team 2, I was constantly protected by him. When he was severely injured, I felt helpless and could do nothing but watch. Thus I decided to become stronger, but as I grew so did he. The gap between us didn''t close at all but instead widened. I want to make him look at my back, I want to be able to stand by his side proudly." Izumi explained resolutely.


    "Seems like you care very much about this boy" Tsunade snickered.


    Hearing Tsunade''s response a blush came to Izumi''s face as she said, "It''s not like that!".


    "As I only have my strength and medical ninjutsu, those are the only two things I can teach you. For now, we''ll have a spar to test your current strength"

 24 Live or Die

    Standing in an unknown area, Ren could hear the sounds of breathing of the other participants next to him. Some were trembling due to anxiousness, some were trembling due to fear, and some stood tall brimming with confidence. There were a total of twenty-four young men around the ages of 12-15.


    "As you all know, you will be taking the test for the entrance of Root. We in Root protect Konoha from all potential threats, do the dirty work, all in the shadows for the village." An old man walked out in front of the participants catching everyone''s attention as his voice rang out. This old man was Danzo.


    "I will now explain the contents of the test," Danzo said as someone appeared next to Danzo and handed him a scroll.


    Opening the scroll, Danzo then said loudly "This is a life or death test, there will only be one survivor out of the twenty-four of you. Those who don''t want to participate, please leave right now, for there won''t be any more chances." Looking up Danzo saw no one move before he continued speaking, "The rules are simple, the last one standing wins. As long as there is more than one participant alive, then the test has not yet finished. Weapons are allowed. Nothing is excluded."


    Walking away Danzo gave a nod towards the referee.


    Seeing Danzo''s nod, the referee then said, "You may begin!"


    Everyone jumped away from each other as they pulled out their weapons getting ready for combat.


    ...


    "Looks like a battle royal. Too bad, but I will be the victor!" Ren thought inwardly as he gripped his sword with a freezing glint in his eyes.


    Making eye contact with another man who had dark blue eyes and a buzzcut, Ren dashed towards him at a speed the man couldn''t even react too. With a quick thrust, Ren''s sword instantly pierced the man''s heart thus destroying it.


    Flicking the sword to get the blood off, Ren couldn''t help but feel sick as it was his first time killing someone, but he still resolved himself as he rushed towards more people clashing.


    Unlike the previous victim, the two fighting were able to react to Ren''s quick speed as they both jumped back from locking their swords and kunai with each other and both threw kunais and shurikens at Ren. One of the kunai had a paper bomb attached as it blew up right in front of Ren''s face.


    "Did we get him?" One of the men said while panting.


    However, before he could let out another sentence, he heard the screeches of what sounded like birds followed by a "Chidori!". As he looked at the smoke from the explosion, a figure suddenly appeared in front of him. Going limp, the man lost consciousness as Ren pulled out his arm from the man''s body.


    Looking at his former opponent make create dust clouds as his body fell limp onto the ground. The man instantly felt terrified as his vision distorted as his field of view turned upside down and he could now see his body. He had been decapitated.


    ...


    Covered in blood and filth, Ren was breathing heavily while he looked at dozens of corpses around him. The putrid smell of blood and rotting flesh being set ablaze invaded Ren''s nose as he stood there feeling nauseous.


    "Congratulations Ren Uchiha, you are from now on a member of Root!"

 25 Storm Release

    After joining Root, Ren had gained access to lots of its training facilities, research centers, and libraries. Standing in an empty training facility, Ren was trying to fuse his abundant lightning chakra with the little water chakra he had. Ren knew that by combining the two he would be able to achieve the storm release.


    Storm release was a combination of lightning and water, it was used by many shinobi from Kumogakure, most notably Darui. Ren had much respect for Darui as he later became the 5th Raikage and excelled at lighting jutsu even though he could use water and wind release. Despite the Storm Release''s name, it did not control actual storms but instead manipulated beams of electricity to make it flow like water.


    As far as Ren knew, there were four different jutsus that used storm release, however, he was only interested in two of them. The first being Light Fang which was a sharp thin needle with extreme piercing power. This jutsu was a perfect fit for assassination. However, it required Senjutsu to be infused into it to keep its form, but since Ren currently did not have Senjutsu learned he could not learn this jutsu as of now. Thus, the only Jutsu he could learn was Laser Circus, one of Darui''s main techniques he used in the anime during the Fourth Shinobi World War.


    "Rat, Tiger, Dog, Snake, Dragon. Storm Style: Laser Circus!" Ren said as a halo of energy appeared around his hand, before encircling both of Ren''s hands. Feeling the chakra group up in his arms Ren released it all out in a wide area in front of him. Completely destroyed the training dummy with the few beams that hit, Ren thought What would happen if he focused all the beams into a single compact beam.


    Trying his idea out, Ren formed the same hand seals as he shot a huge laser out, completely decimating the area.


    "This Jutsu is extremely powerful, but it uses almost half of my chakra. Compared to Chidori I can only use this twice maximum, it would be better to save it and use Chidori instead." Ren mumbled.


    Running out of chakra, Ren decided to take a short breather before returning to train. But, instead of using storm release, he uses the Lightning Beast Tracking Fang, transforming the lightning in the user''s hand into a hound, then launching it. If you attacked a string of lightning to it, you would be able to manipulate and control the speed and range of the technique. This would be the perfect move to stall for time as it didn''t use much chakra but was still dangerous if not taken seriously. This was a move Kakashi Hatake had used often.


    ...


    As Ren was testing out multiple jutsu, he heard saw someone in a black coat and an animal mask to cover his identity. Ren was also in the same suit, but he had the mask hanging down the side of his head.


    "Lord Danzo has assigned you your first mission, return to the main headquarters to receive your mission." The man said with a solemn tone, but looking at the damage Ren had caused, especially the damage from the Laser Circus the man was filled with shock as he spoke with a slightly more respectful tone.

 26 Hunting

    "I want you to assassinate Kabuto Yakushi," Danzo said with a solemn tone. "He''s betrayed Konoha and has killed Non¨­ Yakushi."


    Ren was surprised to find out he was assigned to assassinate Kabuto, but he knew it was Danzo who was pulling the strings. He had tricked Kabuto and Non¨­ into killing each other, as he felt that Kabuto would become a threat to Root as he had become "too good" of the spies in Root.


    "May I ask where Kabuto is?" Ren feigned ignorance.


    "After killing Non¨­, he was last seen speaking with Orochimaru, due to the fact that we''ve lost communication with him, we''ve assumed he''s allied with Orochimaru and has betrayed Konoha. We found an underground lair outside Iwagakure." Danzo paused then continued, "Begin your departure within the next three days."


    "No need for preparation, I''ll leave today," Ren replied.


    ...


    Standing in the outskirts of Iwagakure in a black coat, Ren walked around looking for an entrance near the location Danzo informed him of, but couldn''t find anything. Not being able to find anything, Ren decided to question some people in Iwagakure.


    ...


    "Hey, do you know anything about a bunker or anything of the sort?" Ren asked a young man.


    "No, sorry." The man said with a little confusion as he looked at the foreigner.


    The foreigner was Ren, but seeing as he didn''t find any clues he continued asking until this little girl with bright green hair in a small dress told Ren, as she pointed in a direction "I saw a hole in the mountain near the forest straight ahead, I could feel some cold air from the hole. I didn''t think of it at the time but it was actually a little strange compared to how hot it is outside."


    "Thanks" Finding a lead on Kabuto''s location Ren patted the girl''s head and turned towards the area the girl pointed.


    Approaching the hole in the wall, Ren suddenly felt chakra formed into a blade behind him, as he pulled out his sword.


    "Who are you? Why are you here?" A series of questions came out of the young man wearing round glasses with grey hair''s mouth. The young man was Kabuto as he pointed his chakra scalpel at Ren.


    "I''m no-one you need to know about," Ren said as he put on his mask and turned around while wielding his sword.


    "If you don''t want to answer it, then die!" Kabuto proclaimed as he charged towards Ren.


    Clashing his sword against Kabuto''s chakra scalpel, Ren infused it with his chakra which started causing it to vibrate with the coating of electricity.


    Being sent back by the chakra, Kabuto screamed, "Why are you attacking me? I didn''t betray the village by choice! I was framed, Danzo is an evil person. You don''t understand I know I''m innocent. I will live!".


    "I know it Danzo is evil, but I have to follow his orders... For now at least." Responding, Ren jumped towards Kabuto.

 27 Lightning Blade vs Chakra Scalpel

    "If you know all the bad things Danzo''s done, then why are you working for him?" Kabuto asked with his brows furrowed while clashing his chakra scalpel against Ren''s sword. However, Kabuto heard no response as he could feel the weight of Ren''s sword causing him to dig into the ground with his feet, so he wouldn''t get sent flying backward from the force of the sword.


    "Please just let me go! I was tricked by Danzo into killing someone who I thought of as my own mother" Kabuto pleaded, but he only saw Ren''s eyes flash with a cold glint.


    "I can''t do that, I have to kill you for my future," Ren spoke as he infused more chakra trying to kill Kabuto.


    Ever since Ren had been born into this world he had changed the timeline and he knew that his very existence was an anomaly. Knowing such, he had resolved himself to change. To change the way things went, he didn''t want Itachi to go through countless tragedies, he wanted the power to be able to change the story even more. Thus, he joined Root even though he knew he would only be in Root for a few years, but he would progress much faster than anyone else at his age.


    Making space between himself and Kabuto, Ren used threw his sword at Kabuto to distract him, while appearing right next to him with his kunai, however, Kabuto was able to react in time and formed many hand seals, "Water Style: Giant Vortex".


    A huge water ball in the form of a whirlpool came out of Kabuto''s mouth destroying it''s path, hollowing out the ground as it stampeded towards Ren.


    Jumping back Ren formed multiple hand seals and yelled "Storm Release: Laser Circus,". Of course, it wasn''t compressed as the version he made, but he didn''t have time to focus his technique as it was still an incomplete jutsu and its chakra usage was much higher.


    The power of the laser circus pierced through the huge whirlpool and dismantled it completely causing the remainder to dampen the ground.


    Kabuto charged at Ren with his chakra scalpel, but just disappeared into smoke. "Die!" a shout came from behind Ren. However, Ren was able to quickly turn and slash at Kabuto. But Kabuto was able to narrowly evade it as his chakra scalpel also dissipated. Landing a light palm on Ren''s chest and his face while pushing him down onto the ground. Kabuto was absorbing his chakra.


    "Mmph!" Ren let out a muffled sound as his face was slammed against the ground. Paining his back to turn, Ren put a paper bomb on Kabuto''s chest.


    Jumping back Kabuto ripped off the tag and threw it away as an explosion came into view.


    "Chidori!" Ren thought as he shoved his arm into Kabuto''s chest.


    With blood streaming down his mouth, Kabuto''s lips and face paled as he coughed out blood before falling own onto the ground laying limp. He was dead.


    Verifying Kabuto''s death, Ren let out a sigh as he felt he made too many mistakes when he could have easily ended the fight from the beginning.

 28 Shisuis Death

    Standing in front of a shrine were two men confronting each other with a serious atmosphere brooding as the wind brushed by causing the branches on the tree too shake and left the leaves to fall. There were multiple men in the shadows watching the two men, they each had masks with painting and forms which formed it into a different animal each. They had their hands on their swords ready to move when needed.


    "Lord Danzo! What is it?" Shisui asked as he looked at the middle-aged man with bandages covering his left eye.


    "Even if you use the Kotoamatsukami, there will still be distrust among the village," Danzo responded with a stern tone.


    Danzo stood there with the wind brushing by him while he looked even more intently at Shisui.


    "I''m sorry, but I will be taking your Sharingan!" Danzo said as he rushed at Shisui while reaching his hand towards his eyes.


    Though, Shisui quickly reacted and activated his Sharingan putting Danzo into a genjutsu.


    "Don''t worry, it will wear off soon" He muttered while he turned to walk away, but abruptly felt a heavy impact on his stomach as more attacks hit him from multiple areas.


    Danzo whom he had put into a genjutsu appeared in front of him in less than a second removing the bandage over his left eye. His left eye was completely white as the result of only one ability of the Sharingan, the Izanagi. Landing a heavy fist on Shisui''s stomach, continuing to rain attacks on Shisui''s body, Danzo then reached his hand towards Shisui''s eye and ripped it out.


    Danzo replaced his used eye with Danzo''s eye, "Give me your other eye too".


    Jumping back Shisui formed multiple hand seals and said "Fire Style! FireBall Jutsu!"


    As a huge flame came out of his mouth, the Anbu who were hiding in the shadows appeared behind Danzo and used, "Water Style! Raging Waves!" as multiple jets of water came out of their masks and stopped the fireball that was coming. But, after the steam from the evaporated water cleared out, Shisui was nowhere to be seen.


    "Go after him!" Danzo commanded.


    Hearing so the Anbu cleared out.


    ...


    Standing near the edge of a cliff, Shisui stood there with his back facing Itachi.


    With the wind blowing and blood dripping down where his right eye used to be, Shisui spoke, "I was going to try to stop the coup d''¨¦tat with my Kotoamatsukami, but it''s too late now. Danzo took my right eye." Shisui paused then continued, "He''ll probably come after my left eye too, so I want to give it to you before he takes it from me". Shisui reached towards his remaining eye and pulled it out, turning towards Itachi with both of his eyelids for what used to be where his eyes were and he turned and handed his eye to Itachi before finally saying, "Protect this village".


    Taking the eye from Shisui, Itachi stayed silent but watched as Shisui slowly stepped backward.


    "Wait Shisui!" Itachi exclaimed as Shisui fell off the cliff before what seemed to be an eternity, but also an instant to Itachi, plunged into the river. "Shisui!" Itachi screamed in grief as blood started rolling down from his red eyes, and instead of just having three tomoes, it took the shape of a three-bladedpinwheel.


    ...


    Ren sat in the front courtyard staring at the skies as he heard footsteps outside his residence. Standing up Ren saw Itachi walking in looking incredibly disheveled and down.


    "Itachi? What''s wrong?" Ren asked concerned with no idea what had happened to Itachi.


    "Oh, Ren, you''re back from your mission," Itachi said with a gloomy tone.


    "What happened Itachi? Tell me, I can help"


    "You can''t, Shisui is dead! Because of Danzo, because of this damned clan!" Itachi angrily bellowed before walking to his door and shutting the door.


    ...


    After a few minutes had passed by, Ren was standing still. His hands were balled up into fists, as he looked down onto the grown with shock.


    "Why?! I trained so hard to prevent the future, to prevent Itachi from going down the path ofbecoming a rogue ninja!" Ren thought as he started to strike the ground.


    "Ever since I came to this world, I spent as much time training as I could try to make a difference, but what have I done with all the time I had? Train! Nothing but train, even with training my efforts were for nothing!".


    For the first time in Ren''s life since coming to the Naruto world, he had felt incredibly aggrieved, he felt his efforts wore futile, he felt he was useless, trash. Even with his knowledge about the world he had, it was all wasted.


    Unknowingly, the surge of emotions from feeling useless had caused a change in Ren. His eyes were red and had three dark tomoes surrounding his pupil.

 29 Strange Sharingan

    Looking at the droplets of rain that were in the process of falling, Ren felt strange. "What''s going on? The rain is just staying still in mid-air? It''s not even falling, wait it''s not that it''s not moving, but it''s just moving at a very slow speed which I mistook for being still."


    Moving to grab at a droplet in the air, Ren suddenly saw a reflection in the droplet. It was pure red. With confusion, he ran towards the pong in his front yard and saw his reflection. It took a moment for Ren to realize why his eyes had changed, but when he came to the realization he had awakened his Sharingan, he was extremely excited. However, the joy didn''t last long as Ren felt his chakra deplete completely.


    "Damn, looks like my Sharingan uses up many folds of chakra compared to a normal Sharingan," Ren said as he fell down and lost consciousness.

    The next day Ren was back in the woods experimenting with his Sharingan. After, asking Itachi about the Sharingan and using his previous life''s memories of this world, Ren knew something was strange about his Sharingan. First, the consumption was about ten times as much as a normal Sharingan, second, when he was in his Sharingan, everything seemed much more slowed, almost like time freeze, yet it was not. Finally, he felt as if there was a hidden power within his eyes that was on the verge of revealing itself.


    Turning off his Sharingan, he found himself hungry, so he decided to go back to the village to get something to eat.


    Walking around before arriving at a barbeque place, another person with spiky brown hair and green eyes around the same age as Ren, called out to him.


    "Ren! Come and sit over here!" Zoro pointed at the empty seat in front of him as he was waiting for his meat.


    Walking over Ren asked Zoro, "Hey, it''s been a while. How are you doing?"


    "I''m doing great, I''ve become much stronger than before. But, if you haven''t spoken to Izumi since the team disbanded, you''ll be really surprised with how much she''s progressed. She can easily beat me within a few seconds!" Zoro said with a laugh.


    "Oh, I''ve been too busy with training and missions over these past couples of years. I''ve become much stronger too. We''re both thirteen now right?" Ren replied while watching the food come.


    "Hey, I''ve got a crazy idea! Let''s have a quick spar after we finish eating." Zoro said as his stomach grumbled while he looked at the roasting meat.


    "Sure, but I won''t go easy on you," Ren said as he brought a piece of meat to his mouth.


    ...


    "Water Style! Water Dragon Jutsu" Zoro said as he created multiple hand seals and then shot out a huge dragon formed from water.


    Facing the dragon, Ren was shocked as Zoro had made all the hand seals in less than a second. It was almost instantaneous. But, as the dragon rushed at Ren, he quickly infused his sword with lightning chakra and cut it down with one slash before appearing next to Zoro with his sword up against Zoro''s neck.


    "It''s my win," Ren said with a smile before withdrawing his sword.


    "You''re really strong Ren!" Zoro stated.


    "Thanks, but you''ve also come a long way. Your hand seals are almost instantaneous, so it''s easy for you to use countless jutsu within the span of a couple seconds." Ren replied in a little awe.

 30 Accusation

    After his spar with Zoro, Ren walked back as the sun slowly started to set. Arriving at his home, he walked straight into his room before falling down on his bed. However, he felt wide awake and couldn''t fall asleep so he decided to walk out, where he saw Itachi sitting alone in the courtyard.


    Sitting next to Itachi, Ren asked, "How are you doing since Shisui''s death?"


    "I''m fine, I''m just a little sad. To think Danzo took his eye, even though Shisui wanted to use it for the good of the village!" Itachi said as while clenching his fists.


    Sitting in silence next to Itachi, Ren decided to change the subject, "Where''s Sasuke? It''s pretty late" Ren said as he looked at the sunset.


    "He''s currently in his room studying for a test he has," Itachi said while his mood seemed to improve from the change of subject.


    "I see," Ren said before hearing a knock on the front door.


    Both Ren and Itachi walked towards the door to open it up to see three older men.


    "Itachi! Get out here, we need to have a talk," the man with grey spiky hair said while completely ignoring Ren.


    "May I ask why you''re here?" Itachi questioned as he walked out the door.


    "I''ll get straight to the point, there were only two people who didn''t show up to last night''s meeting, why weren''t you there?" the man with grey hair questioned.


    "I''m sorry, I was busy" Itachi replied, "Now if there''s nothing left I ask of you to leave as I''m quite busy."


    "There''s another thing, we came to tell you that we, the Police Force, will launch an all-out investigation regarding Shisui Uchiha who died yesterday by suicide."


    "What? Investigation?" Itachi bewilderedly asked.


    "Shisui was a man who would undertake any mission for the clan, it''s difficult to believe someone like him would kill himself, yet to leave this on his will." The grey-haired man said while taking out Shisui''s will.


    On the will it said, "I have wearied of duty. As it is, the Uchiha has no future. Neither do I... I can no longer follow the "path".


    "We want you to ask the Anbu, to conduct an investigation as well," he paused, while walking away, then continued, "But, we have other ways besides the Anbu, if there''s any news, then we''ll know about it."


    Hearing this Itachi was immediately angered as he opened his Sharingan, "Why don''t you just say it, you believe I had a hand in Shisui''s death!"


    The three immediately stopped and turned to look at Itachi with their Sharingans opened, "That''s right, we believe it was you!"


    "If we find out it was you Itachi who betrayed the clan, you''ll pay for your wrongs!"


    "SHUT UP!" Ren interrupted fiercely, "Shisui was Itachi''s best friend, he saw Shisui as dear as a brother, and you''re here accusing him of killing him?!".


    "No one cares about your opinion brat. In the end, you''re average compared to your brother, you don''t even have your Sharingan opened." One of the men responded with a grin.

 31 Replacemen

    Hearing what the man said, Itachi was immediately angered as he moved to attack. But, Ren opened his Sharingan and let his fist soar through the wind, before striking one of the men''s jaw and sending his other fist at the other''s stomach. But, not letting the final man react, he sent a sidewards kick towards his head, instantly knocking him unconscious.


    Looking at the unconscious man, and two people groveling in pain on the ground, Itachi was shocked and didn''t know what to say.


    "I''m weak, but the three of you with your Sharingan activated couldn''t even react to my attack. If I''m trash, then you three are more worthless than a piece of trash, constantly going on and on about the clan, accusing Itachi of killing his best friend. You''re all pathetic." Ren said as he felt his blood rise and his heart beat faster.


    Of course, Ren didn''t truly mean some of the things he said, but he was truly angered and also didn''t want Itachi to undergo the same path he did in the anime. At this point in time, Ren felt as if he knew the anger Itachi had when he had been accused, but even worse.


    "I''ve had enough, there''s no hope left for this pathetic clan," Ren quoted one of Itachi''s most famous lines in the anime unconsciously as he looked at the men in disdain. But, it was at this moment, Ren knew what path he would take for his future.


    Suddenly a Fugaku''s voice sounded out as he arrived onto the scene.


    "What happened!" Fugaku asked as he looked at the bodies laying on the ground.


    "It was that brat!" The grey-haired man grumbled as he pointed at Ren and clutched onto his stomach in pain.


    Looking at Ren, Fugaku shouted, "Explain yourself, Ren!"


    "Father! Ren was only defending himself!" Itachi interrupted.


    "I was asking Ren, not you Itachi!"


    "They''re nothing but fools!" Ren proclaimed as he walked away.


    ...


    Laying on his back, while looking at the moon Ren felt reminiscent as he was currently following the same path Itachi was back in the anime. Instead of Itachi being the one to lash out, he had lashed out instead.


    "I wonder how the future will change from the anime," Ren thought.
