 Chapter 1 - High School Sweetheart Part 1

    Lu Xianjian and Yin Mian had been highschool sweethearts. It was no news to their friends and classmates. Yin Mian''s parents had not been in agreement with their relationship because Lu Xianjian was poor. His mother was sick, he had three younger siblings and his father had disappeared when he was little.


    He worked and attended school at the same time, it was not easy for him but he still managed be a more than average student. Lu Xianjian and Yin Mian had started off on the wrong foot,they had actually been enemies until one faithful day. Lu Xianjian had not liked Yin Mian because he had thought her to be one of those rich brats who used money to pave their way and steal the rights of the poor away from them. His mind had been made up about her on a particular day when he was supposed to be given the post of class president but instead, it was given to her. He felt she did not merit it and that the teacher only gave the post to her because she was rich but the truth was she had just been lucky. Sadly,Lu Xianjian had held the grudge, never being nice to her and poor Yin Mian never knew why.


    Yin Mian had been on her way home when she saw a woman struggling to walk ,she looked tired and hungry. Yin Mian had compassion and told the driver to stop the car and drove her home. At Yin Mian''s house, the woman was treated very well. She was given a nice sumptuous meal and Yin Mian''s mum even had new clothes delivered to her.


    The woman explained her condition and Yin Mian''s father gave her some money and had the driver take her to her home. When Yin Mian opened the door of the woman''s house, she was surprised to see Lu Xianjian. "What are you doing here?" he asked her harshly. "Xianjian! Be nice to her,she''s the one who helped me and now I can take your brother to the hospital for treatment because of her parents." The woman said. Right there and then,Yin Mian found out that the woman was Lu Xianjian''s mother.

 Chapter 2 - High School Sweethearts Part 2

    "I''m sorry" He quickly apologized. "It''s OK " She replied. Lu Xianjian''s younger brother, Lu Di was taken to the hospital. He had been sick but there had been no money to take him to the hospital. Since that day when Yin Mian helped his family, his view about her changed completely.


    He actually began to like her,she was beautiful, kind hearted and smart. That little spark soon began to grow and it turned into strong love. Yin Mian''s family had actually supported Lu Xianjian family because they were good people but when they heard that the two youngsters had actually fallen in love and even wanted to get married, they were against it.


    Yin Mian was their only child and they only wanted the best for her. They wanted her to marry into a rich family and never have to struggle in life. That was their greatest d.e.s.i.r.e. In their last year in high school, Lu Xianjian had written a scholarship exam to study abroad. He had worked so hard so he could pass the exam because he knew opportunities like this one came only once. He came out first and the best in the state, he was immediately flown abroad for his university education. But a day before his departure,he and Yin Mian had celebrated.


    They had drank so much that they became so heavily drunk. It was not long before he started using his charm on her and in that state, she couldn''t resist and they had s.e.x. That particular day, Yin Mian''s parents had gone out and the maid Li Long had gone out to get some stuff at the market. They were alone and in that moment of teenage and imm.a.t.u.r.e love, they had actually consummated what was yet to come. The real question should be,were they ready for this?

 Chapter 3 - Good Bye

    Neither Lu Xianjian nor Yin Mian regretted what they had done. They did not tell anyone, they made it their little secret. The next day,Lu Xianjian hugged Yin Mian for the last time and said goodbye, then he entered the aeroplane. Yin Mian cried, he was not yet gone, but she was missing him so much already. She left the airport and went back home. She wrote many letters to Lu Xianjian, many of which never reached him. Yin Mian gained admission into university B and tried to move on with her life.


    About a month after Lu Xianjian''s departure, Yin Mian fell sick. She had fainted and was taken to the hospital where the reports of a test carried out on her showed she was pregnant. Yin Mian was inwardly happy that at least, she had a part of Lu Xianjian in her to always remember their promise to each other. "Yin Mian I promise, I''ll never forget you. You are in my heart and I''ll love you forever." Lu Xianjian had promised, she his words clearly. Lu Xianjian would have been excited to hear this great news but, too bad I can''t tell him now."She told herself.


    Yin Mian''s parents were furious at hearing the news of their daughter''s pregnancy, they told her that she must abort the child. She refused and tried to run away. They locked her up and said they wouldn''t let her go anyway until she agreed to abort the child. It was the intervention of Yin Mian''s aunt that saved she and the baby. At last after some persuasion, her parents allowed her to have the baby

 Chapter 4 - Lost Child

    Eight months later, she gave birth to a girl. A cute little baby that smiled and laughed so much. The baby reminded Yin Mian of Lu Xianjian and she cried. Yin Mian''s mother told her that after the baby was seven months, Yin Mian would continue her schooling and leave the baby in the care of a nanny to which she agreed. Three months later, she went to visit Lu Xianjian''s family and found out they were doing well. Lu Xianjian sent them money every month.


    Lu Xianjian''s mother said that they were truly blessed. "My dear since you came into our lives, itself been one blessing after the other. Do you know that Lu Xianjian doesn''t have to work to earn money abroad, he is paid money for just going to school. How wonderful it is." Lu Xianjian''s mother said laughing like an elated child. "I''ve heard about it and I just hope for the best for Lu Xianjian." Yin Mian said. "Dear, why didn''t you bring my granddaughter, it''s been a while since I last saw her. Lu Xianjian''s mother said. " Mum don''t worry, tomorrow I''ll bring her straight here and she''ll spend the whole day with you. "Yin Mian said and they continued their discussion. She left later in the day.


    She came down from the car and went straight to her room. It seemed strange that she was missing her baby, her heart we beating fast and wouldn''t rest till she had seen and carried her daughter in her arms. She reached her room and went to the bed but all that she saw was an empty blanket," Where''s my baby?"she asked no one in particular. Just then, her mother walked in. "Don''t worry Yin Mian,your baby is safe and in capable hands." Her mother said. "What do you mean?where''s my daughter?" Yin Mian questioned. "She has been put in an orphanage far away and I just received news that she has been adopted." Yin Mian''s mother replied.

 Chapter 5 - Life Goes On

    "Mother what do you mean, tell me you''re joking." Yin Mian said trying not to let the tears fall. "My darling Mian, I''m not one to play such jokes. I put your daughter in a far away orphanage and just received a call telling me she''s been adopted. Don''t worry she''s been in good hands, I assure you." Yin Mian''s mother said. Yin Mian fell on her knees and wept,she had been broken. Her daughter had given her a new kind of hope but that was shattered now,by her own mother.


    Yin Mian fainted. It took some few days before she eventually agreed to see or talk to her parents. Aunt Yunxi had actually gone to the hospital and talked some sense into her. Aunt Yunxi was really the one who had brought the idea, Yin Mian''s parents'' initial plan was for Yin Mian to abort the child but aunt Yunxi managed to convince them to allow Yin Mian to birth the child. She told them the child was innocent and that she didn''t want them to kill an innocent child but as stubborn as they were, they only agreed with her after she brought the suggestion of taking the baby to an orphanage.


    "My dear please forgive me and your parents and don''t cry anymore, I only did what I did in a desperate attempt to save your child''s life. As for your parents, they are only thinking about your wellbeing, they think the baby will be a distraction. This world of ours is a very small place and you will surely meet your daughter again. When you''re ready for the responsibility of motherhood, your daughter will find a way back to you,I assure you. At least there''s still hope, it''s better if she''s alive and with someone else than being dead and flushed away like some piece of garbage." Aunt Yunxi encouraged.


    Yin Mian took her aunt''s advice, she stopped mourning the loss of her child and was soon back to her old self. She started going to school she had already gone through so many distractions she had to concentrate on her studies. One thing was for sure, she kept hope alive that one day,she would meet with her daughter again. And she,Lu Xianjian and their daughter would be together and be one big happy family.

 Chapter 6 - The King Returns

    Six years had passed by quickly but not smoothly for Yin Mian. Many times,she had missed her daughter dearly but she had managed to encourage herself. Yin Mian had become an actress but not a famous one. Her parents had actually offered to help her in her career because they had alot of connections but she had refused their help. She couldn''t take help from them remembering what they had done. After that incident of them giving away her baby six years ago,somehow, she couldn''t bring herself to trust her own parents.


    Her best friend in high school, Hua Vao was now her manager. "Yin Mian why are you being stubborn like this?Please just accept your parents'' offer,they are your parents after all." Hua Vao advised.


    "Their help comes with a price, I''m sure they''ll ask me for something in return, the last time I went to visit them,they asked me to get married and when I told them I would get married to no one else but Lu Xianjian they were furious at hearing me say that and I just had to leave. Hua Vao we''ve been very good friends since high school and I can''t lie to you. I won''t be able to pay you,so you should find a more worthy actress as your boss. I''m thinking about dropping show biz and settling down to do something else." Yin Mian confessed.


    "Yin Mian don''t say that, you''re the best boss any manager could ever wish for. Yin Mian you were born for acting so don''t ever think about dropping show biz again." Hua Vao said. Just then, Hua Vao put on the TV and the news reporter announced that Lu Xianjian, the king of entertainment was coming back. The footage showed that Lu Xianjian was just coming down from the private jet ,walking by his side was a beautiful lady.


    "Lu Xianjian is coming back after all these years, I can''t believe he''s really back. It''s been six years since I last saw him,he''s changed completely. He seems more fancy and handsome but he still has his cute and innocent face with those daring eyes." Yin Mian said dreamily. "Yin Mian I''m so happy for you." Hua Vao congratulated giving her e hug. "But who''s that lady walking side by side with him?" Yin Mian couldn''t help asking Hua Vao, she really wished nothing would go wrong.

 Chapter 7 - Meeting With The King

    "Well I don''t know but she shouldn''t be a threat, right?because if I remember correctly,Lu Xianjian loves you very much and no matter the distance or time that keeps you apart, nothing can be able to separate you." Hua Vao declared. "Thanks for the encouragement but I better go see Lu Xianjian. It''s been so long and I want to see him for myself. If he looks so good on the screen, then I wonder how it''s going to be when I see him in person. I think I''m going to fall in love with him all over again." Yin Mian said excited.


    "But madam love queen, meeting the king of entertainment isn''t a piece of cake. You see,Lu Xianjian''s isn''t the simple poor boy we used to know, he''s made quite a fortune and he''s changed alot. He isn''t called the king of entertainment for nothing, he owns the biggest entertainment company in China. He''s got one in Australia and one in America. You''ve seen and watched his films right? he''s really serious with what he does." Hua Vao said.


    "You know I have every of his films, I''m his biggest admirer. Finally, I get to meet him after six long years. Oh!Hua Vao it almost feels like a dream." Yin Mian said turning around. "Yin Mian come down please because at this rate, you''re going to die of excitement before we even get there." Hua Vao joked. "Let''s get ready, I can''t wait!" Yin Mian exclaimed and dashed to her room to change her clothes. When Yin Mian was dressed and they were ready to go, they both went to Lu incorporated.

 Chapter 8 - Surprise For You

    Hua Vao was right, meeting with Lu Xianjian almost seemed impossible. There were a crowd of reporters and journalists outside and the security guards weren''t going to let anyone in or out of the office. "Yin Mian let''s go,we can meet with Lu Xianjian another time. It''s too crowdy and the security guards won''t let us in." Hua Vao said. "No, I have to see Lu Xianjian today, I''ve waited this long and I can''t wait any longer." She said immediately had an idea. They dressed up as tea girls and told the security guards they were bringing tea for the king,they were allowed to enter to office where they also told the secretary the same thing. She let them them in and told the security guards to secure the perimeter.


    Once they were in,they giggled quietly, they couldn''t believe they had actually gotten in. "Mr Lu,your tea is here." The secretary announced. "I didn''t call for tea." Lu Xianjian replied. "Should I send them away?" The secretary asked. "No need, send them in." He replied and Yin Mian went in with the tray of tea but he did not see because he was busy on his laptop. She gave one to the lady that she had seen with him on the TV and she gave the last to him. She accidentally spilled a little of the tea on his laptop. "What''s wrong with you?" He asked immediately standing up from his chair. "I''m so sorry, let me clean it up" Yin Mian apologized and tried cleaning the laptop.


    He looked at her face and was surprised to see who it was. "Yin Mian?" he asked smiling. "Xian Xian it''s so good to see you." She said and hugged him. Xian Xian was the pet name she had given him back then.


    "Who''s she?" The lady sitting asked. "She was my classmate back in high school." Lu Xianjian told the lady. Yin Mian frowned,why would he just introduce her as just an old classmate, their relationship was more than that. "I''ll leave you both then, I''m sure you have a lot to catch up on." The lady said and left.

 Chapter 9 - Beautiful Lies

    "Xian Xian, how have you been? I have to admit you''ve improved quite alot. You look more handsome and refined." Yin Mian said as she released him from her embrace. "I can say the same for you, you''ve changed too. You look stunning." Lu Xianjian replied. "You don''t know how I''ve missed you. The six years that have gone by have been hell for me without you but all that is in the past now as long as I have you in my arms, that''s all that matters." Yin Mian said hugging him again. "We shouldn''t be doing this." Lu Xianjian said abruptly breaking out of her embrace. "What do you mean?" Yin Mian was confused. Lu Xianjian went up to her, held her hand and as softly as he could, said"Yin Mian, it''s good to see you again, it really is nice but the truth is I don''t love you."


    "What!" Yin Mian exclaimed removing her hand from his. "Please calm down and understand that I don''t love you. I love Andrea she''s my fianc¨¦e." Lu Xianjian said looking away. "Xian Xian don''t play such nasty pranks on me. Please tell me you love me, tell me you''re joking. Just tell me, please say it. I''m begging you." Yin Mian said in tears holding his neatly ironed suit.


    "Yin Mian come to your senses, don''t cry so much. I really wish I was joking but I''m not, I don''t love you. I only love Andrea and that''s it." Lu Xianjian said plainly as he removed her hand from his suit.


    "So what you''re saying is that all the time we spent together was a lie,was it all a game to you? Xian Xian don''t you remember that day?For goodness sake we have a daughter and now you''re telling me they were all beautiful lies." Yin Mian said still in tears.


    "Yin Mian I never loved you and what happened between us was a mistake. If I do have a daughter as you claimed, Andrea would be more than happy to be her mother. At that time,we were not in love, no it wasn''t love. It was only teenage infatuation and I''ve gotten over it. I suggest you should too. Now if you''ll excuse me, I have some work to do." He said and she ran out of the office.

 Chapter 10 - Handsome Stranger

    Yin Mian ran out of the office in tears, Hua Vao ran after her and tried to find out what was wrong but Yin Mian took her by surprise and she couldn''t keep up. Yin Mian kept remembering what Lu Xianjian had told her. He had said to her face that all the sacrifices she had made for him were nothing. He had told her that everything they shared in the past even their daughter was a lie, an illusion. He regarded everything simply as teenage infatuation and nothing more. Was this really happening? She couldn''t take it.


    She had no idea in her traumatic state when she ran into the road and she was hit by a car. She fell on the road and her head bled the pain in her heart seemed to overshadow to one she felt on her body. She saw stars in the day light and in the stars,she saw herself and Lu Xianjian together and a girl who she imagined was her daughter. They seemed happy and she smiled in her subconscious, she didn''t care if she was hallucinating for her yearned for the picture to be reality but the stars began to disappear and she blanked out.


    Yin Mian opened her eyes and saw Hua Vao and then she realized everything seemed different. "Where am I?"Yin Mian asked trying to sit up. "You''re in the hospital, you had an accident. Thank goodness you''re awake." Hua Vao said and heaved a sigh of relief. "I see you''re awake.", A deep masculine voice boomed. It was Chen Qiangu the owner of the biggest business empire in the country.


    " Who are you? "Yin Mian was unaware, she was not a sucker for news. The only things she watched were cartoons and Lu Xianjian''s movies. Although she was all grown up, it seemed she still had a kid''s mentality. Huo Vao was surprised at Yin Mian''s ignorance. President Chen walked up to her and held her chin and in his s.e.xy voice said." I saved your life."

 Chapter 11 - Mr President Is Being A Gentleman

    "You hit me with your car and then take me to the hospital. You''re not exactly the Knight in shinning armour you''re portraying yourself to be." Yin Mian was blunt. "You know I still saved your life, if I wanted I could have just left you there." He said with a smirk. "Mister, you''re not above the law you know. I''m not someone you can walk all over,I know my rights and I also know you don''t have the right whatsoever to hit a person with your car and just leave." Yin Mian argued


    "Oh!you seem to be blaming me for saving your life. Tell me what the hell you were thinking when you walked into the road like that. You''re not blind and you appear educated, so why would a grown woman like you run into the road without looking." Chen Qiangu reprimanded. Yin Mian immediately remembered the words of Lu Xianjian and she did not realise when tears fell down her cheeks.


    "Miss I''m so sorry if I hurt you by any chance, at times I tend to act rashly." He apologized. Yin Mian realized that she had been too harsh and that he was a real gentleman but just how could she tell him he wasn''t the reason for her tears. Her selfish ex-boyfriend and father to her lost daughter who she had made countless sacrifices for had actually deserted her after waiting for so long, she felt she had wasted her life.


    "Apology accepted but you''re not the reason for my tears." Yin Mian said. Chen Qiangu passed her a tissue. "But can I be the one to wipe away your tears." He said and cleaned her tears with his handkerchief. "Miss I have an offer for you, just take it as part of my apology." Chen Qiangu said. "What is it?" She asked. "I want to marry you." Chen Qiangu demanded.

 Chapter 12 - Contract Marriage

    "Pardon? Wait! You want me to marry you when I know nothing about you. I don''t even know your name." Yin Mian said surprised. Hua Vao who had been watching the drama in suspense spoke. "Yin Mian how could you be so ignorant. At times you surprise me, this is Chen Qiangu the current CEO of Chen united group of companies. I''m sorry for the trouble we''ve caused you president Chen." Hua Vao apologized. "It''s no problem." President Chen accepted. "I''m asking you to marry me, it could actually be a contract marriage. My family have been on my trail concerning my marriage and I''m sure you can also benefit from this marriage. There must be something you want, just name it and its yours.Think about it,I''ll wait outside." Chen Qiangu said and left.


    "Yin Mian this is a life time opportunity and you mustn''t waste it. President Chen seems interested in you and I''m sure you''ll both get along just fine." Hua Vao said excited. "Hua Vao, I can''t marry him. I barely know him and moreover, I don''t love him." Yin Mian said.


    "Yin Mian stop being so melodramatic, this is the real world. There is no such thing as love and you''ve found that out for yourself, it''s time to move on." You''ve already wasted six years on that bastard and it''s time you dropped this whole lovey dovey stuff, it''s outdated. This marriage will only benefit you and with it,you can get your revenge on that bastard Lu Xianjian and show him that you''ve moved on and that you can live without him. So what do you say?"Huo Vao evaluated.


    "I don''t think it''s such a good idea." Yin Mian was reluctant. "Come on Mian say yes." Hua Vao persuaded. "Alright, I''ll say yes." She agreed. A few hours later,President Chen came in and Yin Mian gave her answer. "I''ll marry you." She said.

 Chapter 13 - Secret Marriage

    The marriage between Chen Qiangu and Yin Mian had actually been private. Only Chen Qiangu''s and Yin Mian''s parents were present. They had actually signed the marriage certificate in the registrar, it was a brief court marriage. Yin Mian had been the one to request for it,she had set her plan in motion and this was only the beginning. Thinking about Lu Xianjian''s actions, the love she once had for him had turned to hatred. A deep hatred and burning passion for revenge on the one who hurt her. Chen Qiangu and Yin Mian both entered the car and it drove them to their new home.


    Soon it was their wedding night, Yin Mian put a big teddy bear in between them and said. "Ours is a contract marriage and you know it,I hope you don''t plan on touching me cause it''s never gonna happen." "My little kitten, you''re my wife now and there should be no restrictions." Yin Mian said pulling Yin Mian''s leg (joking with her).


    "I don''t trust you one bit." She said and got up from the bed,she walked around the room doing nothing. She didn''t want to fall asleep so that Chen Qiangu wouldn''t have an opportunity with her. The day''s events had taken a toll on her and what she didn''t know was that by behaving like a warrior, she was only making herself more tired. She couldn''t help to stay awake and began sleep walking. "Poor thing,I was just kidding and you took it so seriously. You can come and sleep, I promise I won''t touch you." He said and covered the blanket.


    Yin Mian seeing she had no other option because she was so tired, dashed to the bed and before long, she was fast asleep. "My little kitten is sleeping so peacefully." Chen Qiangu said starring at Yin Mian''s beautiful face, she looked so cute when she slept. Before long, he also fell asleep.

 Chapter 14 - I Need Your Help

    It was true Chen Qiangu was such a handsome man,he was perfectly made with a beautiful face moulded to perfection. His eyes were innocent yet daring, he had a cute little nose and pink thin lips. He was very charming indeed. Chen Qiangu had taken a liking for Yin Mian in the hospital because she was the only woman who he had met that didn''t care about his status, she was rather repulsive.


    He had not gotten married ever since because he had not found the right girl. His parents especially his younger brother had set up tons of dates for him but the only thing the women tried to do was to please and impress him no matter what it took. On one occasion, a girl had told him she was ready to do anything just so she could marry him. He thought she had just been bluffing and decided to test her. He told the lady to bend on her knees and hands, just like a dog and bark. He thought she would refuse but surprisingly, she did and worst of all, in public. The people kept starring at them thinking she was crazy and when he could no longer take the embarrassing looks, he had to leave. The lady wasn''t at all perturbed and just kept following saying he could test her all he wanted because she was ready to do anything.


    The ladies he had been forced to meet up with didn''t want to marry him because he was Chen Qiangu, a handsome lad but because he was President Chen, the current CEO of Chen united group of companies.


    Yin Mian was the only lady who had made a difference and that was why he immediately liked her and decided to marry her. The next morning, Chen Qiangu woke up and found Yin Mian out of bed. He had a bath and dressed up neatly.


    He went down and was surprised the table full of sumptuous meals many of which were his favourites. "Good morning, so you''re finally awake." Yin Mian greeted as she put the last dish of tuna soup on the table. "Good morning, wow! The table looks fit for royalty. Did you have the workers prepare this." Chen Qiangu asked sitting down. "No I prepared everything myself." Yin Mian said surprising president Chen. "Then you deserve a reward, just name it." Chen Qiangu said. "I need your help." Yin Mian replied.

 Chapter 15 - Regretful Past

    "You need my help? For what exactly?" Chen Qiangu asked. "Due to the swiftness of our marriage, I never got the chance to tell you about my past and I need your help to get back at the one who hurt me so deeply." Yin Mian said speaking in riddles. "If you could explain more, then I might just be able to help you." President Chen said.


    Yin Mian told him everything that happened between her and Lu Xianjian in the past and what he had said when she had gone to his office. As much as she tried to hold back the tears, she couldn''t. By the time she finished explaining to President Chen, she broke down in tears. Chen Qiangu saw that she was truly hurt.


    "Don''t worry Yin Mian, today I promise you I will avenge your humiliation. Lu Xianjian will not only meet his downfall,that bastard will have no where to hide." Chen Qiangu promised holding Yin Mian''s hand. "I''m sorry if my words hurt you by any chance but it''s the truth." Yin Mian apologized.


    Chen Qiangu quickly ate his breakfast and Yin Mian relayed the plan to him. He promised he would make her plan work and would get her what she wanted. He left for work but before he did, for the first time ever, Yin Mian hugged him and said ''thank you''.


    Chen Qiangu smiled and left. He would call her when he got to the office to give her more information to make their plan successful. When he reached the office and found out what he was looking for, he called her. "Hello President Chen, did you find out the movie Lu Xianjian is going to star in?" Yin Mian asked hoping for a positive reply.

 Chapter 16 - Two Kisses Exchange

    "Oh my little kitten, it seems the only thing you care about is knowing about Lu Xianjian. I won''t tell a thing until you say you miss me." Present Chen said romantically. "President Chen please stop acting so childish now,you''re making me anxious." Yin Mian said. "But little kitten come to think of it,I''m the one losing here. What do I gain by giving you information about that scoundrel." Chen Qiangu said.


    "OK I''ll give you a kiss when you get home." Yin Mian said, she did not know when the words had slipped out of her mouth. "Promise?" Chen Qiangu asked. "Promise,just hurry up and tell me already." Yin Mian said realising she had trapped herself, there was no way she could escape now. "The next movie, Lu Xianjian is starring in is ''Head Strong Consort''. He''s the male lead and the famous actress Xi Yunyi is the female lead and the director so happens to be a very close friend of mine,one call and you''ll replace Yunyi as the female lead." Chen Qiangu said.


    "President Chen if phase one of my plan is to be complete, I need to be the female lead in that movie." Yin Mian requested. "And what do I get?" President Chen was at it again. "OK I''ll make it two kisses and that''s all." Yin Mian negotiated. "Deal." President Chen agreed and ended the call.


    He called the director, Gu Hongkuan and he agreed to replace Xi Yunyi with Yin Mian. He told Chen Qiangu to tell Yin Mian when to come for the shoot. Chen Qiangu called Yin Mian and told her. She was excited and prepared awaiting the day.


    Due to the promise, Chen Qiangu returned home early. He demanded for his two kisses and Yin Mian told him to close his eyes and when he did, she quickly pecked him on the cheek twice. "That''s not fair,I wanted two real kisses on the lips. Little kitten you''ve cheated me." Chen Qiangu told her. "Darling we only agreed on the kisses and never deliberated on whether it would on the cheeks or the lips. I promised two kisses and only two kisses you''ll get." Yin Mian said and made to leave.

 Chapter 17 - The D-Day

    Chen Qiangu caught her hand and pulled her to himself,he embraced her. "President Chen I really don''t have time for romance,tomorrow''s the shoot and I need to get some rest." Yin Mian said. "I''ll only let you go once you''ve given me a sweet kiss on the lips." He said holding her tighter in his embrace. "OK but let go, you''re suffocating me." Yin Mian complained and as soon as Chen Qiangu released her, she ran away. He only smiled.


    The next morning, Yin Mian left the cooking to the workers. She wanted to prepare herself physically, mentally and emotionally. She was going to Lu Xianjian again and also acting along side, it was not going to be easy.


    "Are you sure about this?" I''ve seen a copy of the script, it''s got alot of romantic scenes where you''ll have to have body contact with Lu Xianjian. "Chen Qiangu said, he didn''t seem happy about it." President Chen, I really have to do this. If I had a better option I would have taken it but this seems like the only way. Don''t worry, I know we''re married and I won''t cheat on you in anyway I promise. "Yin Mian said realising Chen Qiangu was getting jealous.


    " I trust you but it''s that scoundrel, Lu Xianjian I don''t trust, only goodness knows what he''s up to."Chen Qiangu said. Yin Mian went closer to him and said "what is that I smell? Is it jealousy I smell?" She said sniffing the air around him.


    "Of course I''m jealous I can''t bear the thought of seeing you up so close with another man much more that Lu Xianjian." Chen Qiangu explained. "But my dear President Chen you''ll just have to, I''m really sorry. One thing is for sure, that I''ll always be yours,so rest assured." Yin Mian said and kissed him on the lips. It was a passionate kiss,and it took Chen Qiangu by surprise. As soon as she broke from his lips, she quickly left to avoid any questions from him.

 Chapter 18 - We Meet Again

    Yin Mian got there, to the venue and walked out of the car and into the building majestically. She looked so stunning in appearance that whispers about her were going on. "Who is she? Do you think she''s part of the cast? She looks quite sophisticated, do you think she''s among the directors?" A lady asked her friend. "I don''t think so. If she were a director, I would most definitely know her but I don''t think I''ve seen her." The other lady said.


    "Miss Yin it''s so nice to see you, you''re looking so beautiful." The director, Gu Hongkuan complimented. "Thank you and same here director Gu,it''s quite a p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e to meet you." She said and was introduced to the crew members. The shoot was supposed to begin but they were all waiting for the male lead. About twenty minutes later, he arrived. It was Lu Xianjian no surprise, he was the only one who had the guts to keep people waiting like that.


    The director soon introduced Yin Mian to Lu Xianjian as the new female lead. "But I thought Xi Yunyi took up the part." Lu Xianjian said giving Yin Mian a deep stare. "Well Mr Lu you see,Miss Yunyi called to say that something very urgent came up and she couldn''t come, so she got replaced by Miss Yin." Director Gu explained.


    Lu Xianjian said nothing but kept starring at Yin Mian which gave her a little fright, she wondered if she could really pull this off but quickly remembered President Chen was counting on her. "OK Mr Lu here''s the scripts, in a few hours we''ll begin shooting so time to go to the dressing room. Everyone please start preparing shooting will begin soon." Director Gu said taking a seat.

 Chapter 19 - Stubborn Princess

    Yin Mian''s role in the film was the stubborn but brave princess who refused to be wooed by the proud and handsome Prince from another kingdom. It was an outdated atmosphere, so she had to dress up in a big beautiful Qipao, as a Chinese princess of the ancient days. She also had her makeup done by Hua Vao. The director called everyone out and told them it was time for the shoot. Yin Mian had always been a fast learner,she knew her part well.


    "Lights, camera and action!" Director Gu cut into her thoughts. The scenery was a garden which had a lovely pond. She as the princess, was sitting by the pond and feeding the fish when Lu Xianjian playing the role of the Prince walked up to her. He looked a bit silly in the traditional princely attire, she tried to hold back her laughter and only smiled.


    "Oh dear princess how beautiful you are but why have you refused to marry me, my heart beats only for you." Lu Xianjian said. "Prince Yan Xun I''ve told countless times, I will not marry you. I''m not like the other maidens who fall helplessly for you. Though you are handsome I must admit, your pride overshadows your virtue." Yin Mian said


    "My lady you have to please accept me and I will be the happiest man alive. Other girls are willing to go to any length to be my bride but you''re making me run after you without pity,why dear princess?" Lu Xianjian asked


    "There you go again, you think I''m like other girls. Certainly I''m not and I''ll prove it to you. I won''t marry you and make you more proud, instead you''ll have to rid yourself of your pride first." Yin Mian said standing up from the pond where she had sat. She slipped and Lu Xianjian caught her, his brown daring eyes seemed to pierce hers and she got lost in them.

 Chapter 20 - Another Attempt

    "Cut!" Director Gu said startling the both of them and Yin Mian quickly withdrew from his arms. "That was exceptional superb!Miss Yin I never knew you were this good, you made the whole situation look real." Director Gu complimented. "Thank you sir." She replied. "And I only expect the best from the king expect the best from the king himself. You performed very well especially the last scene when you starred at each other, it seemed like excellent chemistry." Director Gu complimented.


    "I won''t bore you with much talk,you can go take five. Everyone we''re going on a five minutes break after which we''ll resume from the second scene immediately." Director Gu said and left them. Yin Mian wanted to leave but Lu Xianjian held her hand. "What are you doing? Let go of me immediately." She said seriously. "Don''t be so angry my flower, it doesn''t suit you." Lu Xianjian said, flower was what he used to call her back in high school. "I''m not your flower so you better stay within your limits." Yin Mian said and forced her hand out of his, then she left swiftly for the dressing room.


    "Yin Mian you were amazing out there." Hua Vao said, she had actually gone to buy them some drinks. She was surprised to see Yin Mian in tears. "Vao I can''t do this anymore, he''s making it hard. It seems Lu Xianjian is hell bent on ruining my life and happiness." Yin Mian said in tears. "But what happened?" Hua Vao asked and Yin Mian told her everything. "That pervert! I wonder what he''s up to now. First he''s the one who rejected you flaunting his fianc¨¦e but now you''re married and trying to move on but he comes back to flirt with you. Mian that guy must be nuts. This is not the Lu Xianjian I know, this one seems like an imposter." Hua Vao said.


    "I need to call President Chen because I don''t think I can continue this movie if Lu Xianjian keeps behaving like this towards me." Yin Mian said. "Yin Mian that''s exactly what he wants to happen, for you to give up but now is the time for you to be strong. If not for yourself ,then for president Chen. He''s put so much faith in you so go out there and tell Lu Xianjian that you''ve gotten over him and he can no longer manipulate you. Look him in the eye and reject him and only then will you receive the strength to continue this fight." Hua Vao encouraged.

 Chapter 21 - Brave Princess

    Yin Mian knew Hua Vao was right and she took her word for it. She put on some makeup and went on to the stage to show Lu Xianjian the stuff she was made of, she was a human being with feelings and not some toy he could play with. The next scene soon began. The scenery was a garden with luscious grass and exotic flowers. Yin Mian acting as the princess, was training with a sword. She appeared really serious and concentrated on what she was doing.


    Lu Xianjian came around, "My lady you are as fierce as a lion, I wonder why you act so tomboyish. You train like a man and refuse to accept me." He said and Yin Mian moved the sword in his direction. His dodged it, it was so close though, just a bit closer and the sword could have actually cut him. "Instead of talking rubbish, why don''t you just join me in a duel. If I win,I can decide to do whatever I please with you but if you win,I promise to marry without a word of objection and I never go back on my promise." Yin Mian challenged.


    "Princess I''ll take your challenge but be prepared to be my wife." Lu Xianjian said and both fought with swords. Lu Xianjian, as the Prince lost according to the script. Yin Mian placed the sword over his neck but dropped it on the floor. "Princess you and I know that the truth is you''ve fallen for me. We would make a very good couple, you''re the only one who doesn''t see it yet. Why else would you sheathe your sword." Lu Xianjian declared with an affair of pride.


    Yin Mian only nodded in pity. "You lost to a woman and yet I see no iota of shame in you, I only sheathed my because I cannot have the blood of a coward on my hands and bring war on my people. You had better leave and never return or else I won''t hold back next time." She said and was about to leave when Lu Xianjian held her hand, she froze.

 Chapter 22 - Rejecting The King

    This was absolutely not part of the script, she wondered what he was up to but just breathed in and out and braced herself for the worst. As soon as she turned back to take a look at him,he dragged her into his embrace and held her so tight. "What are you up to, you ought to leave now so let go of me." She shouted softly at him struggling to get out of his embrace. "I won''t let you go till you say you love me." He whispered into her ear. It was somehow not really a whisper because everyone filming, even director Gu heard it. She shivered a bit,she wondered why he was doing this. Did he hate her that much that he saw playing with her feelings as a game, she wondered.


    "Get it into that silly brain of yours I''m not in love with you and I''ll never love you or be yours." She said after gathering some courage and managed to break out of his embrace. She tried escaping again but he held her hand once again, she felt so tired of this but his next line of action took her by surprise. "I want you to look into my eyes and tell me you hate me. Just look into my eyes once and say you don''t love me and I''ll leave you forever." Lu Xianjian said passionately. He had her cornered, he knew she couldn''t do it.


    Yin Mian felt so confused, what was she to do,she completely had no clue.He dragged her so close to himself and starred deeply into her eyes as if he was searching for the answer in them. Yin Mian starred back and felt her heart melt for him,he was her first love after all but then she saw something else,something like a reminder. She immediately remembered the day he had rejected her and sent her out of his office, how miserable and heartbroken she had been until she met,her angel,the wonderful President Chen. He was the one who had supported her,given her a new life and added meaning to her life.


    Her heart immediately hardened against the man standing in front of her, he was a pretender after all. She then found her courage and looked Lu Xianjian straight in the eyes and said. "I''m not in love with you and I never will fall in love with you, get this straight right here,right now." Lu Xianjian was shocked but didn''t let the expression last long on his face. Yin Mian thought he was finally going to let her go but he wasn''t done yet,he wouldn''t give up. This time, he tried to kiss her,she saw it coming and pushed him away and she quickly left the camera and the shoot was over. It would have ended sooner if not for Lu Xianjian prolonging the scene with his annoying romance

 Chapter 23 - Teaching you a Lesson

    "Mian you were great out there." Hua Vao complimented. "Thanks." Yin Mian replied and just the Lu Xianjian appeared and grabbed hold of her hand so abruptly. "Let go of me, I''m in no mood for drama." Yin Mian warned. "I want you to tell me that all what you said back there was a lie now." Lu Xianjian sounded strict and coercive.


    "No!" She repelled. "You can''t lie to yourself, you love me and nothing can change that." He said undaunted. "I don''t know if you''ve truly gone deaf or you''re just playing dumb what get this straight right here and now,I do not love you. Go to your precious fianc¨¦e or has she decided to dump you? Maybe she''s seen the monster behind that handsome face but one thing is for sure, you can''t fool me twice." Yin Mian made sure she sounded harsh to send the message.


    She forced her hand out of his but he was swift to hold it again. Yin Mian got so tired and frustrated of Lu Xianjian''s foolish and childish act that she didn''t realise when she slapped him hard across the face. "Let that be a warning to you because if you ever venture to come near me again in an unprofessional way,I promise I''ll do worse." She said and didn''t let him recover from the shock before she left,she entered the car with Hua Vao and it immediately drove out of the premises.


    "Yin Mian I didn''t know you hard it in you to do what you did, it was like you were an entirely different person." Hua Vao was astonished. "Even I''m surprised, I just got so angry that I lost control of myself, I guess it''s for the best cause I don''t think Lu Xianjian will dare to bother me anytime soon. I''m just scared that he might be up to something, it''s not like him to let go that easily." Yin Mian sounded worried. "There''s no need to worry as long as you have president Chen beside." Hua Vao said and gave Yin Mian a hug. Hua Vao was dropped at her house while the driver drove Yin Mian straight home, all the while she couldn''t stop thinking of what Lu Xianjian''s next line of action would be.

 Chapter 24 - Little Kitten, You Surprise Me

    The driver dropped Hua Vao at her house before taking Yin Mian home, she entered the house and saw Chen Qiangu. "Little kitten you''re welcome." Chen Qiangu welcomed her. "Thank you president Chen. Intact,I don''t even know how to thank you because without your support, I wouldn''t be here and this would not be possible." Yin Mian appreciated.


    "But I have to admit,Lu Xianjian''s sudden action of trying to kiss you took me by surprise but what even surprised me more was your reaction." Chen Qiangu said. "What did you expect? Did you I would dare kiss that scoundrel and what a minute, how did you know?" Yin Mian questioned really surprised. "I have my ways, I''m president Chen after all." Chen Qiangu said proudly. "Dear husband may I beseech you to tell your humble wife how you were able to watch the shoot." Yin Mian said lovingly and seductively coming close to president Chen.


    "Well when you ask so nicely, how can I refuse? I watched the shoot on my phone. I had the camera''s signal attached and connected to my phone, I couldn''t leave you in the hands of that man but I must say,little kitten you surprise me, I see now that you can take proper care of yourself." Chen Qiangu said holding her hand.


    "President Chen, the next shoot is in three days and I slapped Lu Xianjian because he misbehaved with me. I''m afraid he''ll react soon and I don''t know what he''s planning. The thought only, scares me." Yin Mian explained. "Don''t worry, the driver will take you every where and if anything happens, call me and I''ll be there in a jiffy." Chen Qiangu said and hugged her.


    They had known each other for barely a month but they were already so close. Chen Qiangu was quickly falling in love with Yin Mian, she was as fragile as an egg and he always wanted to protect her. Yin Mian on the other hand saw Chen Qiangu as her comforter, she knew it would take her time to forget the love she had for Lu Xianjian but she only hoped she had the strength and courage to do so.

 Chapter 25 - Let Me Help You

    Two days later, Yin Mian went shopping and on the way, the car had some faults and just stopped working. The driver left to look for a repair man while she came out of the car. The weather was changing rapidly and it would soon rain. Yin Mian brought out her phone from her bag and wanted to call Chen Qiangu but the honk of a car scared her and her phone fell from her hand and broke.


    The rain started dripping and the driver showed no sign of returning and she had not carried an umbrella. She picked up her broken phone and wondered what she was going to do when a car stopped in front of her.


    The windscreen winded down and lo and behold! It was Lu Xianjian. "Hello flower, need a ride?" Lu Xianjian asked. "No thanks." She refused and walked forward. The car followed her. "I suggest you get in now,as you can see,a storm is coming soon." Lu Xianjian advised. "Just please leave me alone." Yin Mian said walking away, the rain was slowly increasing.


    "Let me help you, I kind of overreacted in the shoot and this is my way of apologizing." Lu Xianjian said. "I said no,don''t you understand? No means No." Yin Mian said turning away. Lu Xianjian winded up and drove off. The rain immediately increased so much so that she was soaked from head to toe. She would have gotten into the car but the driver had locked the car and carried the keys.


    Soon she was feeling cold,she regretted not taking Lu Xianjian''s offer. Just then, a car came up ahead. It was Lu Xianjian again. "Now flower do you need a ride?" Lu Xianjian asked once more. Yin Mian regretting she had no other option, grudgingly entered the car and it drove off.

 Chapter 26 - A Little Secret

    Lu Xianjian took her to his villa,he showed her to the guestroom and had a maid deliver to her new set of clothes. She wondered why Lu Xianjian was being so nice to her all of a sudden, she told herself she would no longer fall for his tricks. A knock came to the door and she opened it,it was Lu Xianjian. Her heart skipped a beat,what was he doing here?


    "What are you doing here?" She asked him,moving into the room. "It seems you''ve forgotten, this is my house." He said and closed the door. "You better not try anything or I promise you''ll regret it." Yin Mian warned. "Don''t worry, I just want to talk to you." Lu Xianjian said and sat on the bed,he gestured to her to sit on the bed too.


    Yin Mian also sat on the bed but farther away from him. "Flower since you came to the office, I haven''t been at peace. There''s something I need to tell you, it''s a little secret I''ve been keeping but I can no longer hide it." Lu Xianjian said and moved closer. She also shifted backwards but he kept coming closer and she shifted till she got to the end of the bed. "Just say what you want,I need to get out of here. Don''t come any closer, I''ve already warned you." She warned again.


    "Flower I didn''t know you''ve become so afraid of me,you used to adore me." He said and took her hand in his. "Flower the truth is,those things I said to you that day in the office were lies. Yin Mian I still love you and I can never stop loving you, you''re my whole world. I told you Andrea''s my fianc¨¦e, she really is but I didn''t propose to her willingly. You see her father is the person behind my successful career because what happened is while I was abroad, things didn''t go as planned. I was set up for a crime I didn''t commit, drug trafficking,I lost everything including the scholarship and I almost went to jail, but Mr. Richard was the one who stood up for me. He didn''t let them arrest me and fought to prove me innocent. He was the one who sponsored my university education." Lu Xianjian said paused to look at Yin Mian who starred at him speechlessly.

 Chapter 27 - I Love You Yin Mian

    "He invested in my talent and gave me the courage I needed then. I am only what I am today, because of Mr.Richard, he made me the King of entertainment. A year ago,he celebrated his birthday and I asked him the gift I could give to him to say ''thank you'' for what he had done for me. He told me that the only thing he really wanted and begged me to agree to was for me to marry his daughter, Andrea.


    I told him I already had someone in my heart who I loved dearly but he kept pleading with me to marry his daughter saying his daughter had fallen in love with me and really wanted me to marry her. He told me that if I did that for him,he would be eternally grateful. I just couldn''t refuse, I felt like I owed my life to him. That''s how I and Andrea get engaged. I only said what I said at the office because I knew that when Andrea said she would excuse us,she would secretly listen to our conversation. Turns out I was right, she put a CCTV camera in my office. A part of me also wished I could forget you but when I saw you two days ago and your behavior towards me, I knew I couldn''t keep lying to myself. "Lu Xianjian concluded, he was almost in tears.


    "Xian Xian are you telling me the truth?" Yin Mian couldn''t help but ask, she no longer knew what to believe. "Flower look into my eyes and you''ll know if I''m lying. Yin Mian I love and I know that you love me too." Lu Xianjian said holding her close. She looked into his eyes and knew he was telling the truth, she just didn''t know how to react. "Flower you don''t have to say anything, you said we have a daughter right? We''ll go look for her and find her. I''ll find a way to get rid of Andrea and we can be together again." Lu Xianjian told her. By this time, he was already so close and Yin Mian was lost in his face. He kissed her and she felt her brain go numb.

 Chapter 28 - Guilty Girl

    Yin Mian decided to let go and allow her emotions and d.e.s.i.r.es flow. He continued kissing her and lied her on the bed. Soon he began undressing her. "Ouch!" Lu Xianjian exclaimed and then Yin took a look. It was the ring Chen Qiangu had given her, it had pierced Lu Xianjian''s skin and all of a sudden, she shouted. "Stop!"" But why? We aren''t wrong, we both love each other. "Lu Xianjian said. Yin Mian pushed him away. "This is wrong and we both know it." She said dressing up properly.


    She didn''t wait for Lu Xianjian to try to stop her or make her fall for him again with his sob stories. She quickly dashed out of the house, the rain had stopped. She took a taxi and soon got home, Chen Qiangu was not at home. She sat down thinking of what had happened, she couldn''t believe herself. If she hadn''t stopped herself, she would have cheated on Chen Qiangu with Lu Xianjian the enemy whom he was supposedly helping her to defeat. She felt terrible, how would she face president Chen?


    She couldn''t think of anything else, she felt the guilt slowly killing her. She told the maid to bring her some champagne from the bar and a glass of ice. She had never in her life drank champagne before, the only time she had drank alcohol was six years ago when Lu Xianjian had forced her to drink a glass in celebration of his departure but she told herself this was the only solution to her current situation.


    Before she finished one glass, she had already gotten drunk but she wouldn''t stop. She drank two glasses of champagne and was feeling very dizzy. Chen Qiangu arrived and went to their room,he was suprised to see a bottle of champagne on the table. "Little kitten what are we celebrating and why celebrate alone? Isn''t champagne too much for you, you''re not one to drink alcohol, so what''s wrong?" Chen Qiangu asked and Yin Mian fell on him.

 Chapter 29 - Testing The President

    "President Chen do you know that you''re very handsome." Yin Mian said under the influence of alcohol. "Little kitten, you''re drunk now. It''s time to go to bed,we can talk about this tomorrow when you''re feeling alright." Chen Qiangu said taking her in his arms to the bed. "No,I don''t want to sleep now,I feel absolutely fine. I really thought you loved me." Yin Mian said and hiccupped.


    "Little kitten you''re only saying this cause you''re drunk." Chen Qiangu said. In this condition, it was very easy for him to make his move on her but he didn''t. He would only do that with her when she was in her right senses and fully approved of it. He had every right over her but still he didn''t think it would be right. "Don''t change the topic now,it doesn''t matter whether I''m drunk or not. You always say you love me and call me your little kitten but you''ve never proved it to me that you love me. Prove it to me now,I want to know if you really love me." Yin Mian said placing both arms on his neck.


    "Do you really want me to prove it?" Chen Qiangu hesitated a bit. "Yes, prove it or are you scared now?" Yin Mian asked with a smile, now that was just challenging and provoking Chen Qiangu. "OK kitten since you want me to prove it so bad,I will." Chen Qiangu said and kissed her. That night, he slept with her. In the process of their dance that was as old as history itself maybe subconsciously, she had called out Lu Xianjian''s name shocking Chen Qiangu.


    He stopped, he felt offended. How could she be sleeping with him but yet be thinking of Lu Xianjian, it just wasn''t proper. He decided he was going to have to sit her down the next morning and get the truth from her, what exactly happened that day? He wanted to know.

 Chapter 30 - Drama Queen

    Yin Mian woke up with a splitting headache and pains all over her body. Only then did she realise what had happened, she started crying like a baby. "President Chen why did you do this to me? Why did you take advantage of me? I thought we were friends, you''ve only been acting as a gentleman in pretense one opportunity and you take advantage of me, I can''t believe you." She wailed. "This is not a movie you know, stop being such a drama queen." Chen Qiangu retorted, he still felt a bit sleepy.


    "Now you''re calling me a drama queen. I still can''t believe I trusted you so blindly, there''s absolutely no difference between you and Lu Xianjian." Yin Mian wailed. "Please stop this drama and just try to remember what you told me last night. You were the one who told me to prove to you that I love you, you were literally begging me to have s.e.x with you." Chen Qiangu said.


    She tried to remember but her headache increased, she was only able to remember telling president Chen to prove his love to her. He was right, he didn''t force himself on her but instead she was the one who forced him. "What is wrong with me? I''m so stupid why did I even drink in the first place?" She blamed herself. "That reminds me,while we were doing you know what I mean, you mentioned Lu Xianjian''s name. I tried to call you yesterday during the storm but your phone was unreachable. And more baffling is the fact that I came back home to meet you drunk. Yin Mian be honest with me, did you see Lu Xianjian yesterday and what happened ?" President Chen inquired.


    Yin Mian felt a chill run down her spine. In her attempt to cover the truth, she had actually made Chen Qiangu suspicious and now she had no choice but to tell him the truth.

 Chapter 31 - Please Dont Hate Me

    Yin Mian told Chen Qiangu the truth and after she was done,in tears she said. "President Chen please don''t hate me, I promise I didn''t do anything with Lu Xianjian. He tricked me by helping me and telling me about that sob story of his. I promise it won''t happen again, I''ll never again fall for his lies. You''re my only my companion now." President Chen only smiled. "You don''t have to cry so much, as long as you knew your limits, I have no problem." President Chen said and Yin Mian gave a sigh of relief.


    "Oh no! I''m going to be late for my shoot." Yin Mian remembered and got up, Chen Qiangu held her hand. "Are you sure about continuing with this film, if you want I can get you replaced." Chen Qiangu told her. "I gave him the impression that I still loved him yesterday, I''m going to clear that up. I''ll finish the film no matter what happens and in the process, prove that I''m completely over him. Even if it means that I have to reveal the fact that we''re married, I will president Chen. You''ve put so much faith in me and I promise, I won''t let you down." Yin Mian was determined.


    She had a bath and dressed up but Chen Qiangu told her he would drive her there himself, she obliged. Before he started the car, he gave her a new phone. All her previous contacts were in them,she was amazed. President Chen you keep surprising me with all the wonders you do everyday, I''m lucky to have such a caring husband who loves me. From now on I promise I''ll never do anything to upset you in anyway, you''ve given me so much love and I''m going to give it back." Yin Mian whispered to herself.


    "Did you say something?" President Chen asked. "No,not at all." She replied. He dropped her at the entertainment company and drove off, he promised to call her later. She waved as the car disappeared from sight.

 Chapter 32 - Forceful Marriage

    Today''s setting was that of a palace. Princess Suying (Yin Mian) went to her father because she had been called upon. Her father, the king informed her that they were at the verge of war. "My daughter, the kingdom of satu wants to rise up against us in war." The king informed. "But father can''t the war be avoided, the last war fought claimed many of our soldiers and the kingdom of satu is known for their brave warriors." Princess Suying lamented.


    "My dear there is only one way." The king said rising up from his throne. He went to princess Suying whose head was still bowed and held her hand. "Suying my dear,I have sent an envoy to negotiate with the king of satu and he said the only way to avoid war is a peace treaty through marriage. My dear, the king of satu wants you to marry his son,prince Yanxun (Lu Xianjian)" The king said raising her up.


    "Father I can''t, I just can''t marry that man. He''s too full of himself, he won''t love or cherish me. He''ll only see me as a prize to boost his ego and boast to his friends." Princess Suying complained.


    "Well then we will just have to go to war with satu, whatever the outcome is,I pray our forefathers help us." The king prayed and was about was about to leave when Princess Suying (Yin Mian) stopped him. "Father wait! I''ll marry Prince Yanxun, I must fulfill my duties as a princess whether I like it or not. Tell them I''ll marry him." Princess Suying declared.


    "I have always known you to be a brave girl,my blessings are always with you dear." The king said. A message was sent and a few months later, the marriage between Princess Suying and Prince Yanxun was conducted.

 Chapter 33 - Troublesome Consort

    After Princess Suying and Prince Yanxun had been married according to the customs and traditions, the shooting stopped. They took the usual five minutes break after director Gu had praised them. Yin Mian decided to immediately go to her dressing room without wasting anytime. She did not really have the strength to answer to Lu Xianjian now.


    She heard a knock on the door of the dressing room and she told the person to come in, thinking it was Hua Vao who had gone to get them some snacks. She was surprised to see it was Lu Xianjian. "What the hell are you doing here? Can''t you just leave me alone once and for all." Yin Mian felt frustrated.


    "Flower come down and let me talk to you, about what happened yesterday between us." Lu Xianjian started. "Nothing happened between us and I''m done talking to you. I''m sick and tired of your lies, I don''t know what to believe anymore. What happened yesterday was a result of your manipulation but get this straight, I''m not going to let you manipulate me anymore. The bottom line is I don''t love you anymore and we both know it. I don''t care whoever you made a damn promise to or the reason you have a fianc¨¦e. I no longer give a hoot about whoever you marry, but it''s not gonna be me. You can marry anyone you want because I''d like you to know that I''ve moved on and I''m ma...." The sudden call from the director abruptly ended her sentence. She had wanted to tell Lu Xianjian that she was happily married and he should leave her alone.


    The shoot was starting, she did her makeup and left the dressing room, Lu Xianjian also did the same. Princess Suying was a troublesome girl and she had promised herself she would make Prince Yanxun regret his decision of forcing her to marry him against her will.


    Immediately after the marriage, she hurt herself on purpose to avoid the wedding night. The royal physician was called and she was treated and told to rest. The next day, she went to the kitchen, sent the maids on errands and ruined the food that was prepared for Prince Yanxun, she added almost the whole jar of chilli powder into the food.

 Chapter 34 - Headstrong Consort

    She took the food herself to Prince Yanxun. "Husband, I''ve brought your food." She told him. He smiled "Bring it here." He said and she brought it before him. She sat down beside him,smiling mischievously and waiting for the drama to unfold.


    Prince Yanxun ate only little of the food and soon began to look for water. She gave him water but the more the water, the more the hotness increased. He couldn''t bear it anymore and he began to shed tears. "Hot! Hot! My mouth is on fire." He cried.


    The maids came and did everything they could but nothing helped. They finally resorted to calling the royal physician and he gave Prince Yanxun something that would ease the pain but by then, his mouth was already swollen. The king punished all the maids that cooked the food. They were all given twenty strokes of the plank. Princess Suying did not stop there. The next day, she put itching powder in Prince Yanxun''s clothes and the washer man bared the brunt.


    A week later, Prince Yanxun caught Princess Suying ruining the food that the maids had prepared, he then realized that she had been the one behind the recent mishaps that had been going on with him. He told the maids to throw away the food and Princess Suying had no clue that she had been caught.


    Prince Yanxun secretly summoned the royal physician for a rare medicine that was capable of making someone paralysed and unable to lift a finger or move a muscle for a couple of hours after consuming the drug. He planned to get revenge on Princess Suying by consummating their marriage, she had been running away from him for the past week but not anymore.


    With the medicine in his hand, he smiled. "I can finally have her to myself and do what I please with her using this. Suying you think you''re the only one who can play games but sorry your game ends here and mine begins now." Prince Yanxun said to himself and the shoot for that day came to an end.

 Chapter 35 - Sweetest Husband

    Yin Mian immediately had the driver take her home. She wanted to avoid Lu Xianjian and the shooting was starting to take it''s toll on her, she felt a little weak. Chen Qiangu had called and he would arrive home soon. She decided to prepare the dinner herself, the whole shooting had made her very busy and she realized it had been a while since she cooked for President Chen, it would be an opportunity to be romantic with him.


    He returned home and she hugged him and pecked him on the lips, he appeared to enjoy it. She took him to the table which was full of delicious dishes, mainly his favourites, there were candles and rose petals, there was even a card on the table which said ''For my beloved, my one and only. I want you to know to know you''re special to me and you''re irreplaceable in my life.'' "Kitten wow! When did you learn about being romantic. Wait a minute is this really for me?" He teased. She hit his arm playfully and said. "Of course it''s for you silly, I''ve made lots of mistakes in the past and this is my way of making up. You know you''re not the only expert in romance, I can be romantic too if I want to. " She said and both smiled and had their seats. They had their dinner, talked about their day and their expectations for the next day. When they were done with their food, Chen Qiangu carried Yin Mian in his arms to their bedroom. " You being here with me is the greatest gift I could receive from you." He whispered into her ears and she whispered back. "Then I''ll always be with you forever, promise." and the couple enjoyed their night.


    The next day,Chen Qiangu decided he wouldn''t go to the office. He wanted to spend time with his wife and he planned her a fantastic surprise. He took her to a flower shop and bought her a bouquet of her favorite flowers and he took her to a popular swan lake which shimmered in the sunshine. She was so happy that she almost shed tears, this was the first time someone was doing this for her. At the lake was a beautiful boat prepared and waiting for them,on the boat was a romantically set table with mouthwatering food and a band was present playing such beautiful and soothing music. Everything seemed perfect and finally before they returned home, they watched a lovely movie. Yin Mian was so grateful and swore to never leave president Chen, he was the best husband, in fact the perfect man.

 Chapter 36 - Revenge On The Headstrong Consort

    The next shoot was a week later. As usual, she was dropped in the premises by the driver. Today, there was only going to be one shoot. They soon got dressed and the shooting began. Prince Yanxun secretly put the medicine in her food but Princess Suying had not the faintest clue. She ate her dinner delivered to her by the maid and she soon became drowsy.


    "What is wrong with me?" She asked herself, her vision blurred and Prince Yanxun came into the room and locked the door. He walked up to her and carried her in his arms to the bed. "Husband, what are you up to? Put me down." She protested. She wanted to resist,but she couldn''t. In normal circ.u.mstances, she would have faced the Prince head on and he would not be able to do what he planned but after consuming the drug, she was so weak she couldn''t even move a muscle.


    "Wife, you thought you were so smart. I know you''re the one who''s been messing with my things and it''s my turn to play games. As a punishment, I''m not going to take just anything from you but what you value most. After all, it is my right as your husband." He said to her horror. "Husband please leave me alone, I promise I''ll be a good wife and I''ll never trouble you again." Princess Suying said realising she was totally helpless. Prince Yanxun did not listen, he laid on top of her and the lights went out. She screamed and that was the end of the shoot.

 Chapter 37 - Path To Success

    After the lights came on,Yin Mian pushed Lu Xianjian away from herself. She would not give him a chance to misbehave with her. Hua Vao had called the driver while Yin Mian was in her dressing room. As soon as the driver came, Yin Mian quickly walked out of the premises but she was not fast enough. Lu Xianjian ran after her and grabbed hold of her arm.


    "Lu Xianjian let go of me,you''re hurting me." She complained. Hua Vao managed to remove Yin Mian''s arm from Lu Xianjian''s tight grip. As if luck was on her side, Andrea appeared. She came out of her car,ran to Lu Xianjian, hugged him and kissed him. Yin Mian used that chance to escape,she and Hua Vao got into the car and it drove away.


    The shooting of the movie lasted for two months and the two months were hell for Yin Mian. She used every trick up her sleeve to avoid Lu Xianjian to the best of her ability, luck was always on her side it seemed. The movie was released into the market and it became a big hit. Yin Mian became a very popular actress, a superstar and it was all thanks to her husband, Chen Qiangu and her friend, Hua Vao. He told her he was so proud of her on the day she was to be interviewed together with Lu Xianjian but the silliest thing happened. One of those nosy reporters had asked a question Yin Mian had found to be offensive and she replied accordingly.


    "Miss Mian, your fans really love the awesome chemistry between you and Mr Lu,our one and only king of entertainment so alot of us were wondering if you two are really in a relationship, please don''t be offended but I''ve some rumors that both of you are engaged and getting married soon, is this true?" Yin Mian took a deep breathe really trying to old back the anger that had built up inside of her and she replied calmly. "No,that''s not true in anyway. Like you said they are just rumors spread by enemies, not many people know this but I''m currently a married woman and I love my husband very much. Even Mr Lu can attest to that, he''s the one currently engaged and getting married. All what was acted was not real and the only relationship we have is professional." She said and took a good look at Lu Xianjian, she knew he was behind this ridiculous question, he appeared shocked and shaken. She didn''t care, she was glad she had finally said. The rest of the interview went on smoothly. When the interview was done,he ran after as she rushed outside. "Flower do you hate me to the extent that you would lie about being married just to hurt my feelings." He said looking her straight in the eyes.

 Chapter 38 - Help From Little Cutie

    "I wasn''t lying, I''m really married. Stop bugging me OK,you''ve lost me forever." Yin Mian told him clearly and she turned to leave but he held her hand and dragged her forcefully which made her lose her balance and she hit her back against a car. "Ouch!" She cried out and the next thing she heard was the sound of a thunderous slap and then a punch. She opened her eyes to see President Chen beating the hell out of Lu Xianjian. Lu Xianjian appeared so defenseless and no match for President Chen. "President Chen please stop you''ll kill him and please I don''t want a huge scene here this could be really bad for my career." She said trying to restrain him from beating Lu Xianjian some more. "Kitten he deserves more than this, you got lucky or else I would have sent you into a coma and you would never dare touch my wife again." President Chen told Lu Xianjian who was breathing hard. "So this is the sc.u.mbag, you left me for? Just remember I won''t let you live happily because you broke my heart." Lu Xianjian shouted. President Chen wanted to shut him up but Yin Mian stopped him. They got into the car and president Chen drove them home "Are you hurt? Should I call the doctor?" He asked. "No,I''m alright." She assured with a smile. "Little kitten you''ve shown me that anything is possible as long as you put your heart into it. Baby you''re my darling,superstar and my one sweet love." Chen Qiangu said carrying her in his arms.


    Two days later, she felt really weak and her head ached as if a concert was playing in it. Her vision blurred and she wanted to call President Chen but she had no idea where her phone was. She managed to walk out of the room so she could the landline but she was too weak and fell on the way.


    Just then, a little girl of about six or seven years appeared. She looked so cute and adorable, she asked Yin Mian if she could help. "Please dear go over to the telephone. Under it,there''s a phone book. You''ll find a name, Chen Qiangu. Please please dial the number." She said and fainted.

 Chapter 39 - Good News

    Yin Mian woke up in the hospital, she saw Chen Qiangu by her side. "President Chen." She said smiling weakly. "Kitten you scared me so much,this is no way to give good news at all. You should have called for a celebration but instead you fainted just before we got the good news." President Chen reprimanded.


    "What do you mean?" Yin Mian was confused. "Madame superstar you''re about to make me a proud and super dad." President Chen revealed. Yin Mian was both shocked and happy at the same time, she hugged Chen Qiangu but just then, the little girl she had seen and who had helped her came in.


    "Auntie are you feeling better now?" The girl asked so sweetly. Yin Mian smiled. "Yes,and it''s all thanks to you." Yin Mian told her. "This little child was the one who called me and told me what happened and I quickly rushed home,we owe her a great deal." Chen Qiangu said. "You''re such a beautiful angel,the one who gave birth to you must be truly blessed. Where''s your mum? I want to meet her and express my gratitude." Yin Mian said and smiled as she pat the girl''s cute face. "My mummy works in your house." The girl replied. "What is your name?" Yin Mian asked. "My name is Yiren, Wei Yiren." The girl disclosed.


    "Wow! You have such a beautiful name. Well it''s nice to meet you Yiren and I am Yin Mian, you can call me auntie Mian." Yin Mian said hugging the child. "I also like your name, it''s beautiful but you''re prettier than your name." Wei Yiren said. "How sweet." Yin Mian said smiling and wondering where this little drop of sunshine had been.


    "Auntie Mian, is it true you''re going to have a baby?" Wei Yiren asked. "Yes." Yin Mian replied. "I really hope it''s a boy,I''ve always wanted to have a little brother. Mother never let''s me out of the house to go play with the other kids, I got very good grades recently and that''s why she allowed me to come with her to work." Wei Yiren wished.

 Chapter 40 - Losing Little Yiren

    "Don''t worry, from now on,you can come to the house anything you feel like it. If you can even stay as long as you wish." Yin Mian said. "Really?" Yiren asked. "Yes." Yin Mian replied. "Thank you auntie, I love you auntie." Wei Yiren said hugging Yin Mian again. Chen Qiangu was happy to see Yin Mian happy, he promised himself he would always keep her happy. After all, she was going to give him the greatest gift.


    Yin Mian was soon discharged and she found out who was Wei Yiren''s mother. It was a middle aged woman named Wei Ying. Wei Ying kept bringing Wei Yiren to the house as Yin Mian had instructed. Yin Mian always loved playing with Wei Yiren, she really reminded Yin Mian of her lost child.


    She hoped that wherever her daughter was, she would be exactly like Wei Yiren. Both became so close and inseparable that the day was never complete without them seeing each other.


    About a month later, Wei Ying and Wei Yiren stopped coming all of a sudden. Yin Mian tried to contact Wei Ying but she was no where to be found, she used all her means to look for Wei Ying but it seemed she had suddenly disappeared with Wei Yiren. Yin Mian cried bitterly, little Yiren had found a way into her heart but now she could no longer see her.


    Chen Qiangu tried to console her but she refused consolation. The sudden disappearance of Wei Yiren reminded her well of her baby. It was exactly the same way that she had lost her daughter and had still not been able to find her.

 Chapter 41 - Searching For A Lost Child

    Wei Yiren''s disappearance was like a wake up call for Yin Mian. She immediately began investigation and searched different orphanages, she was ready to search every orphanage in China. She managed to get the name of the orphanage when her daughter had been taken to as a baby from her mum and she went there with Chen Qiangu but they told her the child had been adopted a long time ago. When they went to the family which had adopted her,they found out she was no longer with them.


    She was told that their maid had ran away with the baby. Yin Mian asked for the name of the maid and they searched for anyone with that name but it seemed like there was no one who went by the name they had been given. Then it only meant, the maid had given the family a fake name. The investigations led to no where and it seemed her lost daughter could never be found.


    A few days later, Wei Yiren managed to walk into the house, she saw Yin Mian. "Auntie." She called weakly. Yin Mian turned to look at the direction of the voice because she was sure it had to be Yiren. She was right, she saw Wei Yiren but she was bleeding, her dress was almost soaked with blood. Yin Mian ran to her and then Wei Yiren fainted in her arms. Wei Yiren was immediately rushed to the hospital where an immediate blood transfusion was demanded for the operation to take place. Yin Mian happened to be the same blood group with her and offered to donate her blood. "Little kitten, I can''t let you do this. You''re pregnant for goodness sake." President Chen reminded.


    "I don''t care,it''s only because of her that I''m standing here today and now she needs my help,I can''t forsake her now." Yin Mian said and left with the next to get her blood tested and taken. With Yin Mian donating her blood to Yiren, the operation was successful and Wei Yiren was out of danger. Two days later, after she had woken up,she told them that her mother had locked her up in an underground chamber of a warehouse and when she tried to escape,her mother had threatened her with a knife. Being the brave girl she was, she had not been perturbed and in the process of her escaping, Wei Ying had stabbed her. "I hate my mummy, she''s very bad. She beats me up at every little mistake or when she just feels like it especially after getting drunk. She almost killed me with a knife, please don''t send me back to her." Wei Yiren had pleaded in tears.

 Chapter 42 - Right Under Your Nose

    "I wouldn''t even think of sending you back to that demoness, not in my wildest dreams. I''m not even sure she''s your mother because no real mother can do this to her own child." Yin Mian said in tears, she did not realise when she began crying. "President Chen, here are the results." A nurse said handing him something in an envelope. He gave it to Yin Mian and told her to open it,she did and it was the result of a DNA test done without her knowledge.


    President Chen had actually examined the odds, a biological mother would never stab her own child, no it was not possible and didn''t Wei Ying disappear with Wei Yiren all of a sudden, it could only mean she had something to hide. But then, it could also mean she was the same maid that disappeared many years ago with Yin Mian''s daughter and the one they were looking for.


    He wanted to be sure and not throw around guesses or create false hope, that was why he had the DNA test done secretly and luckily, it turned out positive. Yin Mian could not believe it. The daughter she had been searching for all along was right under her nose,in her own house. It was almost unbelievable. She thought her eyes were deceiving her and she read the results again but it showed that both their DNAs matched perfectly. This was a dream come true,she had actually wished for a daughter that was exactly like Wei Yiren but it turned out Yiren was her own daughter all along.


    She went to Yiren with tears in her eyes and told her the truth. "Yiren don''t call me auntie anymore, call me mum." Yin Mian said in tears. "Mum? But why?" Wei Yiren asked. "Because I''m your mum, I gave birth to you and I lost you when you were still a baby. Someone put you in an orphanage where you were adopted and later kidnapped by that wicked lady,she''s not your mum. In fact, she''s not related to you at all." Yin Mian explained. "But why didn''t you tell me?" Yiren asked. "I just found out dear but will you trust me and come home with me?" Yin Mian asked stretching forth her hand. "Yes mummy." Yiren said hugging her instead.

 Chapter 43 - Fighting Another Battle

    Three days later, Yiren was discharged. She was now Chen Yiren because President Chen took full responsibility of her even though she was not his daughter by blood. Before then, Yin Mian made sure the psychopathic maid was found and arrested. She was given life imprisonment for kidnapping, child abuse and attempted murder, Yin Mian made sure she would rot in jail for her crimes.


    Yin Mian felt her life was finally complete, she was together with her caring and loving husband and her long lost daughter. To top it all off, she was expecting President Chen''s baby. Her joy knew no bounds but every new level, there''s a new devil. Lu Xianjian investigated and found out truly that Yin Mian actually gotten married to Chen Qiangu, the president and current CEO of Chen united group of companies and she was even expecting his baby, talk about a worse situation. Lu Xianjian was so angry and hurt that he had lost Yin Mian and he couldn''t do a thing about it.


    His anger evaporated when he also found out that Yin Mian had succeeded in finding their long lost daughter. That was it! He would use their daughter as a trump card to get Yin Mian back. He would file a case to gain custody daughter and he would invest so much in the case so he would win it.


    When he gained full custody of their daughter, he would use the opportunity to blackmail Yin Mian that if she didn''t divorce Chen Qiangu and come to him,she would never again see her precious daughter. Lu Xianjian couldn''t care less about their daughter, all he really wanted was Yin Mian. That was why even if it meant the turning the whole case upside down,he would, just to win the case and be responsible for their daughter.


    He would then not allow Yin Mian to see their daughter unless she decided to divorce Chen Qiangu and come to him. So they could be the big, happy family they had always dreamed. He did not know that by stirring up this matter, more problems would be created for both himself and Yin Mian.

 Chapter 44 - Uninvited Guest

    A knock was heard on the door and Yin Mian went to open it. It was Lu Xianjian and he came with a man on suit.


    "What do you want?" Yin Mian asked desperately wishing he wasn''t there to cause trouble.


    "Attorney, give her the papers." Lu Xianjian told the lawyer and the lawyer gave the file over to Yin Mian.


    "What? You want to gain custody of Chen Yiren?, that just isn''t possible. I know that you''ve never loved or cared for our daughter so what''s your reason behind this?" Yin Mian asked after reading the papers.


    "You mean Lu Yiren and not Chen Yiren, she''s my daughter and as always you''re a very smart woman so I won''t try to deceive you and I''ll cut to the chase. I want to gain custody of Yiren so I can have you back. Once I have full custody of her, I won''t let you get a glimpse of her let alone talk to or visit her. If you would want to still see your daughter by then, you would have to divorce your current husband and come to me. We were always destined to be together and I''ll make it happen,one way or another." Lu Xianjian told her.


    "You wish. Lu Xianjian it''s never gonna happen. You seem to forget that my husband has contacts and he''ll always support me and he''ll never let it happen. Even if you manage to get custody of Yiren which is far from possible, I''ll never leave my husband and come to you.." Yin Mian said with so confidence and determination that it scared Lu Xianjian.


    Lu Xianjian only laughed and it got Yin Mian wondering what was so funny. "You have so much faith in that husband of yours. Well, we''ll just have to see about that flower." Lu Xianjian said with an annoying smirk.


    "Stop calling me that already, I''ve told you numerous times, I''m not your flower,Andrea is and I''ll prove you wrong once again with this case. Get ready for your downfall." Yin Mian said undaunted. "Challenge accepted." Lu Xianjian said and left with his lawyer.

 Chapter 45 - Custody Case

    As soon as President Chen came back, Yin Mian told him about Lu Xianjian''s visit and his plan. "President Chen I can''t believe I''m saying this but I''m scared. I know Lu Xianjian, when he sets his mind to something, he does it." Yin Mian was worried.


    "Kitten it seems you''ve started underestimating me. Give me a chance to show you what I can do and prove to that hypocrite once and for all that you''re mine and he has no rights over you whatsoever." President Chen assured her.


    The case was taken to court and there was a hearing. The first hearing was very tough, Lu Xianjian''s lawyer told the judge that she had dumped the child when she was born and that Yin Mian was only clinging on to the child now because she wanted to use her against his client, Lu Xianjian.


    Yin Mian was shocked, Lu Xianjian''s lawyer was turning the truth upside down, every single thing he said were lies.


    Luckily, President Chen also got a very smart lawyer. Yin Mian was called by her lawyer to the witness box to say the truth after which Lu Xianjian''s lawyer objected and tried to turn the case against her.


    The case was postponed and there was another hearing in about two weeks. This time, Yin Mian''s lawyer came fully prepared. Yin Mian''s mother and Wei Ying were both witnesses to what truly happened and they were called to the witness box to testify. Both said the truth and all went well for Yin Mian but when it seemed she was about to win the case, Lu Xianjian''s lawyer managed to turn the case against her once more with fake evidence and witnesses.


    The case lasted longer than both party anticipated, it took two months. It was finally the day, the last hearing which would decide Yiren''s fate and Yin Mian''s marriage.

 Chapter 46 - Yiren Is Kidnapped

    That day, Yin Mian did not feel really good. She had an odd feeling, she did not want to leave home.


    She asked President Chen if the case could be postponed to a later date because she felt something bad was going to happen. He told her that if the case was to be postponed, it could take more than a month and he pleaded with her to manage herself.


    It was the last hearing anyway, he reminded. She left with President Chen while Yin Mian''s mother and Chen Yiren were left at home.


    About thirty minutes after their departure, the house was stormed by kidnappers


    They tied up all the workers and went to Chen Yiren''s room where Yiren was playing with her grandmother.


    All of a sudden, a hand grabbed hold of both Yiren and Yin Mian''s mother, the door of the room had been left open so they had not taken notice when the kidnappers had entered the room. They both tried to free themselves from the grip but instead, their mouths and noses were covered with drug laced handkerchiefs.


    Yiren fainted and she was quickly carried up and they were about leaving the room. Yin Mian''s mother who had not fainted yet but was feeling very drowsy, she couldn''t even stand up from the floor. With all the strength left in her, she managed to crawl to the door and stretched forth her hand.


    She grabbed hold of the leg of the kidnapper that had Yiren but he kicked her hand away and left.


    "Yiren!" She screamed and fainted. Meanwhile, the hearing was very spicy. As usual, Lu Xianjian''s crafty lawyer did everything in his ability to make sure that his client won the case but luck was something they greatly lacked.


    At last, the truth prevailed and Yin Mian was more than happy when she heard the judge say. "After seeing all the evidences and witnesses, the court hereby grants Mrs Yin Mian Chen custody of Yiren. The child''s father may be able to see the child, but the child must not live with him. Court Adjourned." And the gravel was hit,dismissing the court.

 Chapter 47 - Sad News

    Yin Mian felt so happy, she was so excited that she did not realise when she hugged and kissed President Chen. "Easy there kitten, don''t forget there''s two of you." President Chen reminded.


    "I know but I''m just so excited. Thank you very much love, this is only possible because of you." Yin Mian was grateful.


    At the same time, Lu Xianjian was boiling with anger. He couldn''t bear the sight of Yin Mian and Chen Qiangu so close and happy together and so he stormed off a sore loser.


    Yin Mian rushed home to see Chen Yiren and surprise her with a gift of her favorite chocolates but when they arrived, they were greeted by sad news instead. It first seemed odd that the gate was left open and when Yin Mian rushed into the house and met all the workers tied up, she needed no soothsayer to tell her that something was terribly wrong. She ran to Yiren''s room immediately and saw her mother on the floor.


    "Mother, mother please up,don''t do this to me. Mother!" Yin Mian was already in tears. Her mother woke up and Yin Mian was relieved. "Mother where is Yiren?" She asked her mother quickly. "I''m sorry dear but they took her away. I tried to stop them but I couldn''t." Yin Mian''s mother said in tears. "Who took her?" Yin Mian asked sharply. "There were there men,the kidnappers." Her mother replied.


    Chen Qiangu immediately came to the room. "I know it''s that coward, Lu Xianjian. He lost the case and that''s why he''s resorted to kidnapping my daughter. He''ll never change." Yin Mian cried out and suddenly her head hurt very badly and she began to feel dizzy. She staggered and Chen Qiangu caught her.


    "Kitten be careful. Do I have to keep reminding you to take care of yourself,you need some rest,you''re pregnant. Don''t worry, I''ll find her." President Chen encouraged. He hugged her and she cried on his shoulder. "President Chen why does this have to happen to us,oh poor Yiren. Only goodness knows what she might be going through right now." Yin Mian lamented.

 Chapter 48 - Accusing The Suspect

    Yin Mian and Chen Qiangu went to the police station to file a case of kidnapping against Lu Xianjian.


    He was arrested and both gave their statements in the police station. "Officer please arrest this man and torture him till he tells you where my daughter is. He''s been trying to make me divorce my husband and come to him. He''s a maniac, a pervert. He even filed a custody case and when I won the case despite his antics in the court, he went ahead to kidnap my daughter. Please officer tell him to give me back my precious daughter." Yin Mian wailed.


    "Madame it''s OK, please calm down." The police officer encouraged. "I know you hate me and in due time you''ll come to realise that this man you call a husband isn''t worthy of you. I know I lost the case and I''m still cross about it but I would never go as far as kidnapping my own daughter. Besides, we were both at the hearing in court so how is it possible that I kidnapped Yiren? Although I really want you to myself, she''s also my daughter. I wouldn''t do that to her, not in my wildest dreams." Lu Xianjian stated


    "Madame he does have a point." The officer said. "He definitely sent thugs to do it then. If he didn''t do it himself it doesn''t mean he''s not guilty,he probably hired people to kidnap my daughter." Yin Mian was livid.


    "Why do I have to I have to get the blame for your carelessness, you''ve always been very carefree. You lost our daughter once when she was a baby and now you''ve lost her again. Who knows when we''ll find her,let me guess,when she''s getting married. What kind of a mother are you anyway?" Lu Xianjian attacked.


    "How dare you accuse me of being an irresponsible mother, weren''t you the one who left I and Yiren when we needed you most." Yin Mian argued. "Enough of this blame game,we''re not going to find Yiren like this, I''ll make sure that an extensive investigation is carried out by the police and Yiren will be found soon. We need to settle this like reasonable a.d.u.l.ts, this is a police station not a court or a war room." President Chen intervened trying to cool the air between them. "Officer you know what to do. I don''t care whatever it takes but Yiren must be found soon." President Chen instructed.

 Chapter 49 - Stubborn Little Girl

    Chen Yiren kept struggling until the blind fold was removed from her eyes and the rope was also removed from her mouth.


    "You jerk who kidnapped me,show yourself. Stop hiding under the umbrella of these men,show yourself you coward. When my daddy finds you, you''ll be toast ,he isn''t called President Chen for nothing." Chen Yiren kept shouting.


    "Shut up little girl, the boss will cut off your tongue if she hears you." One of the kidnappers said. "You just keep quiet and bring your boss out. She''s a woman right, she only kidnapped me because she can''t face my mom. I''m sure even my grand mum will be able to teach her a lesson." Chen Yiren yelled.


    Just then, the mastermind behind the whole kidnapping showed up. It was no other person than..... Andrea. She held Yiren''s mouth tight and Yiren struggled. "I see you have a sharp tongue. I like you, you remind me of when I was young but the problem I have is your mother. You see,your mother wants to take away the love of my life from me. She''s married to someone else yet,she refuses to let my Lu Xianjian be. She''s charmed him so much that all he ever thinks about is her,he promised to marry me but now it feels like I no longer exist and it''s all because of your mother. Your mother loves you very much and through you, I''ll get what I want, what I deserve. If you don''t comply,killing you might not be such a bad idea at all." Andrea said and laughed wickedly.


    "Daddy Lu has been bad, I know that and that''s the reason him and mum can never be together but I know one thing''s for sure, he''ll never love you. You''ll be exposed and you''ll rot in jail for the rest of your miserable life." Yiren screamed and Andrea gave her a very thunderous slap. Yiren''s cheeks were so red yet,she refused to cry. "That should teach you to hold your tongue." Andrea said as she bent down close to the child.

 Chapter 50 - The Accident

    Yiren was not scared or deterred. She looked Andrea straight in the eyes and spat on her face. She slapped Yiren again but the seven year old girl refused to shed a tear. "Tie her up,she looks small but she''s dangerous and don''t let her out of your sight." Andrea said ready to take her leave.


    A full fledged investigation had been going on concerning the disappearance of Chen Yiren. Yin Mian was worried sick and President Chen was her only support. Lu Xianjian for once was also feeling worried about Yiren and Andrea was there to comfort him as though she was the good girl. Meanwhile, she was the enemy.


    Exactly two weeks after Yiren''s disappearance, Yin Mian had an accident. Chen Qiangu had not been at home and Yin Mian''s mother and a maid had gone shopping. During the past few weeks, Yin Mian had become a shadow of her former self, she was always worried about Yiren and never took care of herself.


    On that particular day, she was busy thinking of Yiren when she walked down the stairs. She had come out of her room to get some water when she slipped and rolled the down the stairs. She immediately began bleeding and was rushed to the hospital. When Chen Qiangu was informed of her accident, he left the important board meeting he was suppose to preside over and rushed straight to the hospital. The doctor told President Chen that Yin Mian would have to be induced so she could safely deliver the baby because her life and the child''s life were in grave danger.


    She was only seven months pregnant and would have to birth the child prem.a.t.u.r.ely. President Chen immediately agreed and signed the papers which was boldly written that if everything did not go well as planned, the hospital would not be held responsible. All they could do now was pray for the safety of Yin Mian and the baby. Chen Qiangu was so worried he couldn''t think, Yin Mian''s mother kept crying and praying for her daughter and grandchild to survive.


    The atmosphere was so tense.

 Chapter 51 - Yin Mian Alone

    Yin Mian was delivered of a beautiful and healthy baby boy but as soon as the child arrived, she went into a coma. Their joy was divided, Chen Qiangu had not been this worried in his life. He only wanted for his kitten to wake up and be with him, he really missed her. Truth was, he was he wouldn''t have cared less if the little bun had not survived because if she were alive and healthy, they could have more children after all. When the doctor allowed him to see her,he went in and held her hand.


    He talked to her hoping she would reply but she didn''t, only a tear drop fell from her eye. He wiped the tear drop and tried to stop himself from crying, he had to be the man and stop the family from falling apart. He promised her he would find Chen Yiren and that nothing would happen to her. He also talked about their son telling her how handsome and cute he was. The baby had been put in an incubator.


    Chen Qiangu wiped his tears and left the room. Lu Xianjian tried to see Yin Mian in the hospital but he was not granted the opportunity, Chen Qiangu made sure he was banned entering from the hospital until Yin Mian would be discharged. Andrea went up to hideout and talked to Chen Yiren. "Girl,guess what? I''ve got good news but it''s with very bad news. Your Mum has given birth to a little bun,very cute baby actually. So you''ve got a little brother." Andrea told her.


    "Really?" Chen Yiren was excited. "Yes, but before giving birth, your mummy had an accident and after bringing little bun into this world,she went comatose and it''s all because of you. Your mum''s in the hospital right now, fighting for her life and it''s all because of you. Poor Mian, she loves you too much and by kidnapping you, I''ve hit the target and killed two birds with one stone." Andrea told Yiren with a smile. "You evil witch! If anything happens to my mummy, I promise you''ll be sorry." Chen Yiren said struggling. Andrea only laughed. "Keep an eye on her." She said and left.

 Chapter 52 - Making Up A Plan

    Chen Yiren could not bear the news and for the first time since her kidnapping, she actually cried. Yiren decided that she had already had enough, she would not wait around anymore for a savior. She had tried to escape before and she had failed but this time around, her life and that of her mother''s depended on it. "I have to escape from here, mummy needs me." Chen Yiren continued continued encouraging herself.


    The next day morning, while the men were sleeping, she tried to untie herself but the rope was too tight. She finally decided she had no other option, she had to hurt herself. She hit her head against the wall until she began bleeding from the side of her head and then she screamed. "Ouch! Wake up you psychos,I''m hurt. My head is bleeding, I feel really dizzy and faint." The men woke up and saw Yiren bleeding. "Oh no! Bring a first aid box and some medicine. If the boss finds out, we''ll be in serious trouble." One of the kidnappers said to the others.


    "Hai go get the first aid and medicine while Duyi go get some food for her." Chang,the first kidnapper who had spoke before said. The other two left to go do their errands while Chang kept a close eye on Yiren. "Oh! I''m fainting, my head hurts. Why are those fools taking so long? When your boss comes, I''m going to report all of you to her." Chen Yiren complained.


    You don''t have to be so nasty,they are on their way."Chang told her. "My hands are hurting. At least remove the rope or loosen it a little so I can get a grip on myself. I really feel dizzy." Yiren complained again. Chang felt sorry for her and loosened the ropes used to tie her hands and legs. "Thank you." She told him and he saw surprised that the same girl could be polite.

 Chapter 53 - Smart Girl

    After thanking him,Yiren suddenly started coughing very seriously. "What''s wrong with you?" Chang was afraid. "Water please, get me some water. I need water." Yiren said still coughing seriously. "OK wait right here, I''m going to bring water for you." Chang said and left to bring water. Yiren immediately swung into action and untied the ropes since they were not tight anymore. As fast as she could, she ran out of the cold,dark warehouse in which she had been held captive for weeks. She was actually feeling dizzy because she had hit her head against the wall and she had not eaten.


    She just had to do it, it was the only way she could escape and she was prepared to do anything to see her mother again. Owing to the dizziness, she could not run and fast very far and her legs were feeling quite numb. It was not long before Chang realized that Yiren had fooled him and he began looking for her. Soon Hai and Duyi also came back and the three of them began looking for Yiren.


    The warehouse was located in a deserted area and Yiren had to walk out of the street before she could find people to help her. Yiren was scared but she decided to be brave, she did not know the place at all but she decided to trust in God and follow her instincts. She soon got out of the deserted area and saw people and cars moving about in their everyday activities, she smiled.


    She was about to board a taxi when she heard some people shouting behind her. It was the three men, they were running after her and they were getting really close. "There she is, catch her before she escapes ." Duyi said as they ran after her. Yiren was scared, she hurriedly stopped the taxi and entered into it. "Child, you haven''t told me where you''re going." The taxi taxi driver said. "Just drive quickly, go please. I''ll tell you the address." Yiren rushed and just then, the three men came to where the taxi was and was about to open the door and bring her out when the taxi suddenly sped off,throwing the men off balance.

 Chapter 54 - Yiren Is Back

    The three of them fell on top of each other. "Oh no! We''re in serious trouble what are we going to tell the boss? That we were outsmarted by a child of seven years." Hai shouted at the two. "Well we tried our best, the child is smart. I suggest we collect our money quick and leave as soon as possible before the boss finds out." Chang suggested. "You''re right." Duyi agreed and the three left.


    The taxi driver stopped the car in front of Chen Qiangu''s house as Yiren had requested. "Here we are dear." The taxi driver had said and stopped. Yiren got out and was about to run into the house when the driver stopped her. "Where''s my fare?" He asked. "Please sir,don''t worry about your fare,my parents will pay you double when they find out you helped me get away from those rascals. Let me go inside and I''ll give you your money." And with that, Chen Yiren immediately ran into the house.


    The first person to see her was the maid, Juan. "Yiren is that you? Oh I''m so happy to see you. Alot has happened in your absence, Madame has had an accident and she''s in hospital, everyone''s so worried about her. Yiren what happened to your head?You''re bleeding, come let me take a look." Juan reported. "Forget about this, I''m alright. Where''s daddy?" Yiren asked. "President Chen is also in the hospital and your grandma''s there too." Juan replied.


    "Take me to the hospital, I need to see mummy quickly." Yiren instructed. Juan and Yiren entered the same cab to the hospital and paid the fare for both times the cab was used. "Daddy!" Yiren said and ran to hug him as soon as she saw President Chen. He was both surprised and happy. "Yiren, is this you? Where have you been and what the hell happened to your head?" President Chen asked and carried Yiren in his arms. "Daddy please forget about that now,where''s mum? Take me to her,I want to see her." Yiren demanded.

 Chapter 55 - A Positive Reply

    "Of course, your mum has been wanting to see you for the past few weeks now. She''s going to be so delighted to see you and then you can see your baby brother." Chen Qiangu told her. "Hurrah! Daddy you''re the best." Yiren said and President Chen took her to Yin Mian''s room. Yin Mian was still unconscious. Yiren talked to her but she couldn''t reply,Yiren then broke into tears. "Mummy I''m sorry for troubling you so much, you''re in this condition because of me. Ever since I came into your life, I''ve only given you problems but not anymore. I promise I''ll leave but please just open your eyes for me,just wake up once." Yiren said in tears


    "Yiren don''t say that, it''s not your fault." President Chen tried to console her. "No daddy, it''s all my fault. It''s only because of me she''s in this condition, she was worried about me and I''ve caused her so much pain but not anymore. Mummy please forgive me, forgive your daughter just this once and open your eyes. I promise I''ll go away from your life after that and I won''t trouble you anymore." Yiren kept saying still in tears.


    A tear drop fell from Yin Mian''s eye and for the first time, she moved her fingers. "Daddy,mummy she''s... she''s moving her fingers." Yiren announced happily. "Doctor! Doctor!" Chen Qiangu called and the doctor came. President Chen and Yiren were made to leave the room while the doctor attended to her. The doctor later came out and said. "There''s been alot of improvement in her condition, it''s like she suddenly has the strength and will to live and she''s trying to fight death because she wants to live. If she keeps improving like this, it won''t be long before she fully regains consciousness again. This is truly a miracle." The doctor said and left.

 Chapter 56 - The Promise

    "Yiren this is all thanks to you. I''ve always heard about the magic of a mother''s love and the strength in the bond between a mother and her child but today, I''ve witnessed it. You''ve proved it Yiren, your return has given your mother the strength to keep fighting. If we all stay by her side, I''m sure she can overcome this." President Chen told Yiren. Yiren hugged him, she too was happy about the improvement but when she said she was going to leave, she had been actually serious about it.


    She was only waiting for Yin Mian to fully gain consciousness before she would leave. Three days later, while Yiren was by her side sleeping peacefully, Yin Mian sneezed thrice and opened her eyes. Yiren had heard the sound and woke up abruptly, she wiped her eyes and yawned. Just then, she realized her greatest wish had come true. Yiren was so happy. "Mummy you''re finally awake." Yiren said and hugged her mother. "Yiren please you''ll have to promise me you won''t repeat such rubbish again, promise me you''ll never go away and leave me again. I just got you back after almost seven long years. Believe me I can''t lose you again. If I were to lose you again, I wouldn''t know what to do, so please promise me." Yin Mian requested weakly.


    "I''ll never let you have to worry about me again, I promise I won''t go anywhere." Chen Yiren promised and hugged Yin Mian. Just then, Chen Qiangu came in with some injections which the doctor had told him to buy. "President Chen." Yin Mian said and smiled weakly. "Kitten you''re finally awake, you really scared me there. I''m upset with you, how could you put everyone under so much pressure." Chen Qiangu told her feigning anger.


    "I''m really really sorry President Chen but what could I do? I was stressed too. I''m really happy to see you, I can''t say how much I''ve missed you and Yiren is finally back, I don''t have anymore worries." Yin Mian said and smiled.

 Chapter 57 - Yet To Meet Little Bun

    "Aren''t you forgetting something?" Chen Yiren asked and both Yin Mian and Chen Qiangu looked at her puzzled. Just then, Yin Mian''s hand mistakenly slipped past her stomach and then she realized. "My baby, where''s my baby? President Chen,our baby. what happened to our baby?" Yin Mian asked in fright least she had lost the pregnancy.


    "Come down kitten, our baby is just fine. You''ve given me a big bundle of joy and I''m yet to thank you for it. Don''t worry, once you''re out of this hospital, I promise I''m gonna surprise you." President Chen promised. Yin Mian felt more relaxed. "By the way,did you catch the culprit? It was that scoundrel Lu Xianjian that kidnapped Yiren right?" Yin Mian inquired. "That reminds me, Yiren you haven''t told us what happened yet. Did you see the face of the one who had you kidnapped? How were you able to escape?" Chen Qiangu asked all at once.


    "Yes Dad,I saw the face of the person. It was that villainess, aunt Andrea. She''s the one who had me kidnapped and kept me locked up all this while." Yiren disclosed. "That daughter of a.... I should have known. She''s very cunning and I''m going to make sure she pays for her crimes and all the pain she put us through." Yin Mian was livid.


    "Kitten come down, you need to rest now. You just came out of a coma and stressing yourself so much really isn''t healthy at all. I promise you that no matter where she runs to or hides,I''m going to find her and make sure she gets punished and that''s a promise." President Chen promised. Yin Mian ate and rested, she decided to take her mind off things so she could get better quickly. There were alot of things she was yet to do,first and most important to her, was meeting her baby.

 Chapter 58 - Surprise Party

    Within a week,Yin Mian was completely OK and was ready to be discharged. Her baby was given to her,he was so healthy and vibrant plus he was very cute and really resembled President Chen. Yin Mian was proud of herself for having achieved so much,being a famous actress and having such a wonderful family that loved and cared for her very much especially President Chen. It was all thanks to President Chen, she promised herself she would continue to love him forever, even in another lifetime.


    When she got home, she got a bigger surprise. She was thrown a surprise welcome back party with all her friends, family and well wishers present. Yin Mian saw Hua Vao again and both hugged each other. It had been quite sometime. Hua Vao had actually traveled abroad right after the movie and she had just been informed of her friend''s delivery and travails and she had come to celebrate with her. Hua Vao didn''t come alone,she was in the party with her fianc¨¦ and she was getting married soon. She used that opportunity to specially invite Yin Mian to her wedding, Yin Mian promised she would be in attendance with her whole family.


    Hua Vao was her best friend after all and was one of the people who had helped and supported her all the way. The party was glorious with alot to eat and drink, that day was made very special for Yin Mian. Chen Qiangu had bought her a beautiful new dress which she wore and everyone joined in welcoming her back home with songs, fun and games.


    It finally came, the time for Yin Mian and Chen Qiangu to have the first dance. Everyone cheered them on as they rocked the stage with their superb dance moves. It was a really happy day for the family after many weeks of sorrow and unhappiness. It did not take alot of time before Andrea was finally caught and arrested. She had gone into hiding since Chen Yiren had escaped. After being arrested, she would have gone on trial in the court but as it so happens, she was not even a citizen of China. Merely a visitor so sentencing her would be illegal and besides, her father was stinking rich and when he heard of his daughter''s crimes, he made sure that nothing would happen to his only daughter.

 Chapter 59 - Modelling Contract

    Andrea was deported back to her country and banned from coming back to China except on a health wise basis. That was how powerful President Chen''s family was. Little bun was named Chen Mengyao and everyone was happy as life went on peacefully. About three years later, Yin Mian got a modelling contract. It was a very big contract from the united states.


    A big jewelry company in America was launching a new diamond necklace and needed a model for the show. Yin Mian had been recommended by her industry but she was neck on neck with a rival, He Jiao. He Jiao was a top notch model and had been in the modelling industry for years. She usually got good modelling contracts but she hoped this would be a big breakthrough in the height of her career.


    It was going to be hard for Yin Mian because firstly, she was not a model but an actress and secondly, He Jiao was not one to mess with, she was a tough lady to deal with. But with Yin Mian''s already famous career as an actress, the recommendation by her industry and President Chen''s forces, it seemed anything was possible.


    Yin Mian was very beautiful after all with straight smooth legs and her physique was just right, in fact, perfect. She was glad that birthing little bun had taken no effect on her shape at all,she looked just the same as she had looked three years ago. The auditions took place and ended with He Jiao and Yin Mian fighting for who would win the contract. But at last with luck and alot of help from President Chen who got her enrolled into the best modelling school, Yin Mian won the contract.

 Chapter 60 - Modelling Day

    He Jiao had never been angrier in her life, she felt so humiliated. To top it all off,one of the directors of the foreign company had said that Yin Mian had more flair than her and that Yin Mian''s straight and beautiful legs were a creation miracle. Another director had said that Yin Mian was perfect for the job and that they would have managed to hire her if Yin Mian had not been present.


    It had been just a silly comment but it did not end there. In fact, the thought never left He Jiao''s mind. Yin Mian was the only barrier to her successful career. She investigated and found out that if by any chance Yin Mian could not make it to the show,the second place winner which was her would take the position of Yin Mian and automatically have the contract. She smiled deviously as she told herself that Yin Mian would just have to be gotten rid of.


    On the day of the show when Yin Mian was supposed to model the blue diamond necklace, little Mengyao refused to let go of her. When she wanted to leave home, he wouldn''t let go. He kept crying uncontrollably,it was quite strange. Nothing she did to calm him down worked, she eventually had to hand him over to the maid to be taken care of.


    President Chen would have driven her in his own car but he had a very important appointment he couldn''t miss and so,he had the driver take her. She had wanted to drive herself but on President Chen''s insistence, she readily agreed. After all, she was used to being pampered by him. She got into the car and the driver started the car but before it could zoom off,little Mengyao came out crying again.

 Chapter 61 - Little Buns Strange Behavior

    To Yin Mian, this was out of the ordinary because little Mengyao rarely cried. He was a very quiet child who loved to laugh and play. So his sudden rash behavior that morning threw her off balance. She told the maid to call the doctor. She would have stayed to see if anything was truly wrong with her little Yao, but this shoot was very important. Yin Mian carried Mengyao in her arms and sang to him,he quietened down and she handed him over to Juan, the maid.


    She entered the car but she heard Mengyao say "Mummy don''t go." She smiled and then came out of the car, she kissed his cheek. "Mengyao, mummy would have loved to stay but I have something very important to attend to. I promise that as soon as I''m done,I''ll come back and we''ll both go to the park and have some fun." Yin Mian assured but that didn''t seemed to brighten up the child and it was more strange because Mengyao loved being taken to the park.


    There, he met children of his age and played with them. "Madame we''re going to be late." The driver reminded. "Oh yes!" She exclaimed and got into the car. "Bye." She said and she waved at little Mengyao as the car drove away but the child started crying again. "That''s really strange, Mengyao never acts like this. He''s usually the one who waves me goodbye first whenever I want to go out." Yin Mian said to herself.


    "Madame don''t worry too much, most children are like that. You can never tell when their behavior changes, especially at this early stage in life." The driver assured. "You''re right." Yin Mian agreed and decided to relax her mind. "Driver please stop, pull over here. I want to buy that teddy bear for Mengyao." She said as they passed by a toy shop. The driver stepped on the brakes of the car but the car refused to stop moving.

 Chapter 62 - Fatal Accident

    "Driver what is going on? Stop the car." Yin Mian told the driver and he continued stepping on the brakes of the car but they failed and the car kept on moving. "Madame something''s gone wrong, the brakes have failed and the car won''t stop." The driver said as he persistently kept on trying the brakes. Yin Mian was scared. "What is going on?" She asked frightened. Due to fear,the driver couldn''t keep his focus and the car began to sway around the road.


    The driver could no longer control the car and it kept on swaying. Yin Mian screamed,she was so scared. On impulse, she opened the car door and jumped out of the car. She fell on the road and her head hit a post,she fainted instantly. The car continued to sway with the driver in it and eventually left the road and fell into a nearby lagoon.


    People gathered round her at the accident scene, the police were soon contacted. Lu Xianjian happened to be passing by and saw people gathered around a person. He was not one to stop and look at accident victims but the face the rear view mirror showed was unavoidable, he couldn''t almost believe it. He swiftly came out of his car and pushed through the crowd. It really was Yin Mian, his beloved. He couldn''t almost believe it.


    Without wasting time, he quickly carried her in his arms from the pool of blood she was in and admist the crowd put her in his car and drove straight to the hospital. The police came and well trained divers and swimmers went into the lagoon and found the damaged car and two dead bodies, one male and the other female. They were both brought out of the water and the accident was aired on the news so they could be identified by their families.

 Chapter 63 - Wake Up Call

    President Chen kept on calling Yin Mian''s number but her phone was switched off. He was feeling really worried and he couldn''t tell why. He wanted to ask her how the shoot had gone and if she was back home but since her phone was unreachable, he decided to go home and check up on her. He got home and saw she wasn''t yet home, he tried calling the driver but the driver was also unreachable.


    He put on the TV to watch the news so as to relieve some tension and that was when he saw the accident scene. The car had been damaged beyond repair and at a close look, he knew it was Yin Mian''s car. As soon as he saw the car plate number and was totally sure, he could feel his blood turn cold. He sat transfixed to the spot when he saw the two bodies that were being taken into the ambulance to be taken to a mortuary.


    Just then, little Mengyao walked up to President Chen in his two little feet and asked. "Daddy where''s mummy?" That was just the wake up call President Chen needed. He immediately got up,rushed into his car and drove to the hospital. The driver was dead and his body was shown to Chen Qiangu but he wasn''t interested in the driver. He only wanted to see the other body, the body of the dead female.


    He wanted to be sure that his Yin Mian was still alive and that she wasn''t dead,that just had to be someone else. The doctor told him that the face of the lady was badly damaged and disfigured and that even if he was shown,it would be impossible to recognise but Chen Qiangu was not deterred, he still wanted to see it. It was true, when he opened the cloth used to cover the body, the face was disfigured beyond recognition.

 Chapter 64 - A Handbag,Dress, Jacket And A Ring

    President Chen still refused to believe that the dead body was Yin Mian''s. The police brought a handbag, a jacket and a ring that had been found close to the car, in the lagoon. They were the belongings of Yin Mian, no doubt and the ring was the same one that had stopped her from making the biggest mistake of her life three years a go. President Chen himself had given her that ring but yet,he refused to loose hope.


    When the dress the victim had been wearing was brought, it was then that Chen Qiangu was sure that his Yin Mian was dead. The clothes were the same. It was the same dress that Yin Mian had worn that morning, she had even seeked for his opinion about it and he had complimented her and even flirted with her as usual. He could never forget that moment. In just one second, he felt his whole world come crashing down. His knees felt weak and he couldn''t hold on anymore, he fell down.


    "Yin Mian!" He screamed and the doctor and the police tried to calm him down. It took sometime before he got a grip on himself, the body was taken home for burial. As much as President Chen tried to hold back his tears as a man,he couldn''t. He loved Yin Mian too much, she was the first and only woman he had ever loved. It would be impossible to forget her.


    During the burial, the atmosphere was very sorrowful. Both Chen Qiangu''s and Yin Mian''s mothers cried. Hua Vao was also present with her husband, she was pregnant. She was not supposed to stress herself but she couldn''t hold back the tears because Yin Mian was the only friend who had helped and encouraged her like a sister. While everyone was crying and mourning, neither Chen Yiren nor Chen Mengyao shed a tear. Mengyao was understandable because he was still so little but Yiren''s case was different because she kept saying. "You''re all lying, that''s not my mummy. She can''t be dead, she promised never to leave me."

 Chapter 65 - Who Are You?

    Yin Mian opened her eyes and saw herself in the hospital. She was confused, she wanted to sit up but she felt pains all over her body, it was worst in her head. She touched her head and it was bandaged,she did not feel good. "Where am I?" She asked no one in particular. Lu Xianjian came into the room. "I see you''re finally awake." He said and sat on the bed. "Who are you? Stay away from me." She said frightened and shifted on the bed.


    "What do you mean by that? I know you and I have our differences but pretending not to know me is not cool." He said and moved closer to her. "Go away! Stay away from me or I''ll scream. Help me! Someone help me!" She screamed and the doctor came in. "Please help me, this man. I don''t know who he is and he''s trying to come close to me." Yin Mian told the doctor. "Doctor what is wrong with her? Why is she acting this way?" Lu Xianjian asked the doctor, he was confused.


    "Mr Lu I suggest you step outside for a bit,I''ll join you soon." The doctor said and Lu Xianjian left the room. About twenty minutes later, the doctor took Lu Xianjian to his office and explained the situation. "Doctor what''s wrong with her?" Lu Xianjian couldn''t help but ask. "Mr Lu please calm down and let me explain. You see,your wife is suffering from Amnesia. That is,memory loss. Due to the serious head injury, her brain was affected and she''s lost her memory completely. She has no memory of you or anything else from her past, she doesn''t even remember her own name. This is very serious problem and it needs to be handled carefully. She is just like a child now and it is up to you to guide her. She needs all the love and care she can get now more than ever before. Establish trust with her and keep her away from any form of stress, especially mental stress because any forceful attempt in order to make her regain her memory instantly could be fatal and it could lead to death." The doctor advised.

 Chapter 66 - Memory Loss

    "So you mean she has completely lost her memory and doesn''t remember anything, even her own parents?" Lu Xianjian asked. "Yes and now the internal injury to her head needs to heal properly and with time and enough love and care, she will slowly regain her memory. Remember the injury is still fresh and any forceful attempt to make her regain her memory can be fatal. All she needs now is enough rest,healthy foods,her drugs, love and care." The doctor summarized.


    "Thank you doctor but can I take her home now?" Lu Xianjian asked. "Well, I have given her an injection to make her relax but I think I will get her discharge papers ready by tomorrow." The doctor said. "Once again thank you doctor, the earlier the better." Lu Xianjian said shaking hands with the doctor and then left the office. He was so happy at Yin Mian''s unfortunate accident. In fact, he saw it as an opportunity given to him by destiny to get Yin Mian back and make her his forever.


    The most wonderful part was that her husband thought she was dead so,taking her out of the country and beginning a new life with her was the only thought on his mind. "I''ve always said that we''re fated but little miss flower disagreed and now, look what happened. You''re at my mercy but you know what flower? I won''t repay fire for fire. You''re really lucky that I love you too much to hurt you, now we can be together and no one will come between us." He said as he sat by her bed and starred at her beautiful face as she slept. The next day,Yin Mian was to be discharged but she refused to go with Lu Xianjian. "Dear go with him,he''s your friend." The doctor told her. "No,I won''t go with him. He''s a bad man." Yin Mian refused.

 Chapter 67 - Befriending Yin Mian

    Lu Xianjian left and bought her some cotton candy,that was Yin Mian''s favorite candy. He gave it to her, she wanted to take it but then, he hid it behind him. "Do you want some cotton candy?" He asked her. "Yes, I want some please." She requested so nicely. "OK, if you want me to give you some cotton candy then you have to promise to be my friend." Lu Xianjian told her and stretched forth his hand to her.


    "OK I promise." She said taking his hand. He gave her the cotton candy and introduced himself. "My name is Lu Xianjian, I''m your husband and it''s nice to meet you." He introduced. "I''m..... Well I don''t know who I am, but Xian Xian. Can I call you Xian Xian?" She asked innocently. "With p.l.e.a.s.u.r.e." He replied with a smile, that was what she called him in high school.


    "Xian Xian what is a husband?" She asked eating her cotton candy. "Well a husband is a special friend and a helpmate who loves you very much and will do anything for you." Lu Xianjian told her. "Really? Then that means you''re my friend and my helpmate and you love me alot?" Yin Mian asked.


    "Yes,I love you very very much. More than you know. Your name is Yin Mian, OK? Yin Mian." He told her. "My name is Yin Mian, what a beautiful name. Where are my parents?" She asked Lu Xianjian. "Um.... Your parents are no longer with us,they are dead and in heaven." Lu Xianjian lied. Yin Mian began crying. "If my parents are in heaven,then I''m all alone in this world, who will take care of me?" She lamented still in tears. He hugged her and said. "Don''t worry, I''ll take care of you and I''ll never let anything happen to you."

 Chapter 68 - Failed Attempts

    "Really?" She asked brightening up. "Yes." He assured her and she was happy again. She seemed to have a child''s mentality. Well he was OK with it,as long as he had the opportunity to be with her. She was discharged and Lu Xianjian immediately took her out of the country for fear that Chen Qiangu might find her someday.


    They went to Australia to start a new life. Lu Xianjian continued taking care of her and making sure she took her medicine. He really enjoyed her company, she was quite funny. A year passed by quickly but Lu Xianjian was unable to get intimate with Yin Mian. They were very good friends and she really trusted him whole heartedly but he couldn''t develop the courage to touch her.


    They even slept on the same bed because she was scared of sleeping alone but he didn''t cross his boundary. He had tried once, that day he had sang her a lullaby and she had gone to sleep. While she was asleep, he kept starring at her pretty face and he couldn''t help it when he just kissed her. It was a light touch on the lips and he was about to go on when he heard her utter a name.


    "President Chen." She said and turned to the other side. Lu Xianjian froze on the spot and never tried to do so again for fear that she might regain her memory. Besides, she was someone else''s wife and doing such with her knowing fully well that she was not in her right senses would be wrong. Soon it was Yin Mian''s birthday, Lu Xianjian planned a party for her. He bought a beautiful dress which she won and he invited few people mostly comprising of his employees and partners and their new neighbours.

 Chapter 69 - Empty Without Yin Mian

    Since the past year,President Chen had not been himself. He became hard and cold like a rock. He threw himself into his work and he always left the house early and returned home late,sometimes he came back drunk. He could not be a good father to Yiren and Mengyao. Yiren missed her mother alot, she hated seeing her father suffer like this and she also missed her mother''s cooking, advice, heartwarming hugs and playful nature.


    Things just weren''t the same without her. She felt life was unfair because one problem or the other always arose and she never got to spend much time with her mother and and now she would never see her again. She cried every night because she missed her mother''s sweet bedtime stories and soothing lullaby''s, she missed her hugs and goodnight kisses. Yiren was only able to sleep without being scared after holding her mother''s picture tight close to her heart.


    Little Mengyao who was now four only remembered little of his mother. Sometimes,he would be in bad moods and cry over nothing until he was given a picture of Yin Mian to hold after which he would look at the picture quietly with eyes of satisfaction and content. Some people thought this behavior of his to be strange but only those close enough knew that that was his own way of showing that he missed his mother.


    The house became like a big, empty prison. President Chen tried running away from the fact that he missed Yin Mian so much because anytime he thought of her,he couldn''t help blaming himself for her death. "If only I had been a responsible husband then I wouldn''t have lost my heart, now my kitten is gone and will never come back to me." He always said while starring at her enlarged portrait in their bedroom. What usually ended it was a bottle of alcohol.

 Chapter 70 - Wanting The President

    Christmas soon approached and President Chen had a business proposal in Australia. It was the holidays and he was supposed to spend it with his children but spending it with them,reminded him of his last Christmas with Yin Mian and besides, he told himself that his contract was too important.


    The children had to spend the holidays alone and that was when He Jiao came into the picture. After getting the contract in Yin Mian''s absence, it had been a big breakthrough for her. She had gone to President Chen''s company to buy shares to become a shareholder and a business partner. He Jiao was really heartless and cruel, she was the one who had tampered with the brakes of Yin Mian''s car. She had made sure to remove Yin Mian from her way but as shameless as she was, she still wanted to take Yin Mian''s husband for herself.


    After joining the company, she tried her very best to make President Chen notice her. She even gave advances but he never seemed to see them or care. In fact, it was like she never even existed and that kept annoying her.


    "Even in her grave that witch,Yin Mian has still not decided to let me live my life in peace. It''s like she''s cast a spell on poor President Chen and now it seems as if he sees and thinks of no one else but her." He Jiao mumbled to herself.


    He Jiao seeing that getting close to President Chen directly was a failure, decided to enter into his life through his children. He really cared about his children and provided everything they ever needed but a mother. Yes,his children needed a mother. She calculated that if she could be able to make Yin Mian''s children love her,then entering President Chen''s life and family would be easy.

 Chapter 71 - Little Bun Hates her

    He Jiao started visiting the children regularly and bringing them gifts. The first time she had introduced herself as their father''s friend, both children had rebuffed her but she never gave up so easily. She continued visiting them and bringing gifts. Eventually, Yiren fell for her fake love and began to open up but as little as Mengyao was, he couldn''t be fooled. It was like he could see right through her.


    He never showed any sign of liking her at all and anytime He Jiao tried to play with him,he would tell Juan to take him to his room and even when He Jiao gave him gifts, he never took it.


    When he did for any reason what so ever,he threw them away. Juan could not understand Mengyao''s behavior. "Little master why do you not take gifts from that lady,I mean miss He Jiao and why don''t you want her to play with you?" Juan asked one day while dressing him up.


    "I don''t like her." Little Mengyao replied. "But why? She seems like a very nice lady and your sister seems to like her." Juan persuaded. "I just don''t like her,I don''t really have a good feeling about her. Yiren has been deceived by her but not me. Something just keeps telling me that she is pretending and she is a very bad lady." Little Mengyao replied.


    Juan had said no more and decided to leave who he likes and who he doesn''t to Mengyao. While President Chen had decided to travel to Australia for the contract, He Jiao packed her things and moved into the house to be with the children. Chen Yiren was very excited to see her. "Auntie I''m so glad to see you." Yiren said and hugged her. "Me too." He Jiao replied with a smile. "I know your father is busy with work so I''ve come to stay to keep you company and I''ve brought gifts for you so we can celebrate Christmas together. We''re going to have alot of fun." He Jiao told Yiren. "Yes." Yiren replied ecstatically but Mengyao was cold as usual.

 Chapter 72 - Australia Bound President

    "Mengy aren''t you excited too?" He Jiao asked. "I''m not and please stop calling me that, I''ve told you already." Little Mengyao said and left. "I don''t know why your brother doesn''t like me." He Jiao said in crocodile tears. "Auntie please don''t cry, you''ll make me cry too. Mengyao is still a child, he''ll definitely come around. Soon he will see you''re very nice and know that you love us very much. He will love you too just like I do." Yiren said and hugged He Jiao.


    "I love you too dear." He Jiao said hugging Yiren, she frowned. The truth was He Jiao completely despised the children. In fact, they irritated her. She was just putting on an act to get President Chen. Once she got what she wanted and he married her, she promised she was going to deal harshly with the children, especially little Mengyao. Yiren took her to the guestroom where she settled down.


    Meanwhile, Chen Qiangu was in a plane and on his way to Australia. He did not know why but he felt something in his heart pushing him to go.


    He would have loved to spend the holidays with the children but that feeling telling him to go to Australia was stronger. He had the meeting and the contract was signed but before he left, his business partners from Australia invited him to a Christmas party they were having.


    He first declined but when they pushed further, he accepted and he was sent the venue and the time.


    Since the last party he went to with Yin Mian a year ago,he had never ventured to go to a party again. This would be the first time since the last party he went to with Yin Mian and he felt weirdly excited about attending this party, he couldn''t understand it.

 Chapter 73 - Going To A Party

    Lu Xianjian was also invited to the same party and he decided to go with Yin Mian. Yin Mian was very excited to go to the party. "Xian Xian I can''t believe I''m going to a party, I want to look the prettiest just like a Queen going to a ball." Yin Mian said excitedly.


    "Well my princess shall we go shopping for the finest attire for your highness?" Lu Xianjian asked stretching forth his hand. Yin Mian took his hand and said. "Yes. But Mr if I''m the princess, then what are you the slave?" She asked teasingly. "You silly little girl,I''m the Prince of course." He replied and both left the house and entered the car to go shopping.


    He bought a beautiful gown and a tiara for Yin Mian. The next day, they got ready to go for the Christmas ball. Lu Xianjian exclaimed when he saw Yin Mian, she was looking so pretty, just like an angel. He took the tiara and put it on her head. "You''re indeed my Princess." He said dreamily and Yin Mian smiled shyly.


    Both got into the car and Lu Xianjian drove to the venue. Surprisingly, both found out that there was a twist in the theme. It was actually a masked party. The security guards checked their names on the list and when their invitation was confirmed, they gave them masks and allowed them in telling them to enjoy the party.


    Yin Mian was stunned by the d¨¦cor of the large hall,Lu Xianjian never took her to parties for reasons best known to him. The place was very beautiful and crowded with people, on the side of the room was a very large banquet table with foods,drinks,snacks and desserts. Lu Xianjian left to meet some of the partners in the industry and excused himself from Yin Mian. "Mian excuse me for a few minutes, I need to talk to some people. For the mean time,you can look around or grab a bite but please don''t go too far. I really don''t want you to get lost." Lu Xianjian told her.


    "OK." She agreed and he left to talk to his partners. She looked around with sparking eyes and before she knew it, she bumped into someone and fell in his arms. It was Chen Qiangu.

 Chapter 74 - Big Bun Wants A Dance

    "I''m sorry." Both said simultaneously to each other. She got up from his arms. "Thank you sir." She said and was about to go when he held her hand. "Your voice really feels familiar just like someone that I love with my whole heart and I lost." Chen Qiangu said, he was sure it was Yin Mian''s voice, he could never forget it.


    "I''m sorry for your loss but I think you have me mistaken with someone else. I need to go Xian Xian must be waiting for me." She said and removed her hand.


    He caught her hand again. "Who is Xian Xian?" Chen Qiangu asked. "He''s my husband and best friend, he must be looking for me. I''m sorry I have to go." She replied.


    "Then let me introduce myself. I''m Chen Qiangu and I''ll like to have this dance with you." Chen Qiangu requested.


    Yin Mian wanted to refuse but she felt her heart leading her to accept. She took his hand and they danced together, the choreography seemed quite familiar. They were actually the dance steps he had danced with Yin Mian four years ago at their welcome home party.


    Suddenly Yin Mian started seeing shadows in her head. She saw a man and a woman dancing,their faces were not visible. It wasn''t clear at all. The images were very shady,dark and a bit green. She tried to remember the faces clearly but she couldn''t. She felt dizzy and almost collapsed, Chen Qiangu caught her right in time.


    "Miss are you OK?" He asked as he took her to a seat and helped her sit down.


    "My head is hurting, please get me some water." She requested and he quickly left to bring her a glass of water. Just then, Lu Xianjian arrived. "There you are, I''ve been looking for you all over the place. Is something wrong?" He asked noticing she looked pale. "I just have a headache because I saw some shadowy images, it felt like a trance. No,like d¨¦j¨¤ vu but they weren''t clear." Yin Mian complained.


    Lu Xianjian was afraid she was regaining her memory but he decided to calm himself down.

 Chapter 75 - Come Home With Me

    "If you want we can go home." He told her. "No,I don''t want to ruin today for you. You can go have fun,I''ll be fine and besides, my friend bringing me some water." She told him.


    "Friend? What friend?" Lu Xianjian asked. "I made a new friend, what''s his name again? Ha! Chen Qiangu. Xian Xian to be very honest,he''s really handsome and nice." Yin Mian said smiling and almost blushing.


    Lu Xianjian''s face suddenly turned pale. He had to give it up for Chen Qiangu because he was just too much, he even followed them all the way to Australia.


    "Did he see your face?" Lu Xianjian couldn''t help asking. "No,I''m wearing a mask, remember?" Yin Mian reminded and Lu Xianjian heaved a sigh of relief.


    "We need to go now." Lu Xianjian said grabbing hold of Yin Mian''s hand. "But why so suddenly?" She asked as she got up from the chair. "You''re not feeling well. Let''s go home so you can get a good rest, you''ve never been too good amongst a large crowd." Lu Xianjian lied.


    "No don''t worry about me, I''m fine. In fact I''m enjoying the party, this is my chance to make new friends and Chen Qiangu seemed really nice." Yin Mian tried to persuade but these words only frightened Lu Xianjian the more.


    "I said we''re not staying, we''re leaving right now." He said grabbed her hand and dragged her out of the party. Lu Xianjian also forced her into the car,to say that she was surprised would be an understatement, she was completely stupefied. Since the past year she had lived with him he had never behaved this way with her, his violent behavior made her suspicious that something was definitely wrong.


    Meanwhile Chen Qiangu came back with the glass of water and couldn''t find her,he looked around but she was gone. During the rest of the party, he couldn''t take his mind off her. "What is wrong with me? It''s been only a year since Kitten''s death, how can I think of another woman in that way and moreover she''s married. I couldn''t even get her name." He kept thinking.

 Chapter 76 - The Fight

    Lu Xianjian opened the door of the car and dragged her out, she was furious. She snatched her hand from his. "What''s wrong with you? Why did you drag me out of the party like that, do I look like a dull."She argued with him for the first time since one year.


    " I''m sorry,I was only looking after your health which you neglect every time. "He tried to cover up. " I know you''re lying, your eyes have given you away. Just tell me why you acted that way."She tried persuading


    "Flower I''ve told you already, I was only trying to protect you.." Lu Xianjian couldn''t finish before she cut in "Protect me from what? I''m an a.d.u.l.t


    I''m very capable of taking care of myself. I know you''re hiding something from me,you know what I think? I think you''re just jealous because as soon as I mentioned that Chen Qiangu was taking care of me and that he was so nice, your calm reaction changed immediately." Yin Mian told him.


    "Flower it''s not like that." He tried defending. "It''s not like that? Why don''t you just stop lying to me? It''s freaking me out. I don''t know if I can even trust you anymore. Who knows if you''ve just been lying to me and we''re not married, what of if you kidnapped me?" Yin Mian said in anger but Lu Xianjian felt his heart beat rise rapidly.


    "Flower why would you even say that, you know I love you very much." Lu Xianjian said holding her hands. "If you truly loved me, you wouldn''t be so possessive and let me interact with people and make friends. If you really love me, you wouldn''t lie to me. Xian Xian you don''t love me at all,I know you''re just pretending." She said in frustration.


    Lu Xianjian was angry that she was once again doubting his love for her because of Chen Qiangu. He couldn''t control it and he slapped her hard across the face, then he realized his mistake.


    "I''m sorry." He tried to apologize. "I can''t believe you actually slapped me because I was speaking the truth. You know what, I don''t want to see you anymore." She yelled and ran off. He tried to catch with her but he couldn''t.

 Chapter 77 - Caught In A Hard Place

    Yin Mian continued running although she didn''t know where she was going. It was getting late and she was already tired but she didn''t stop.


    When she finally stopped, the sun had gone down and dusk approached quickly. It was quite dark,she huffed and she puffed and decided to sit on a bench to catch her breath properly. She realized then that she did not have a single idea of where she was,she was lost and it was getting really late.


    Something suddenly ran past her like a shadow, it turned out to be a cat. She became very scared and started praying and crying silently. She waited for sometime but no one. "Xian Xian where are you? I forgive you and I''m sorry, just please come save me." She said as she bent her head and cried, the hoot of an owl increased her fear.


    "Miss,why are you crying?" She heard a voice say. She immediately raised her head in hope. "Xian Xian?" She called but it wasn''t Lu Xianjian, it was a man.


    "Who are you?" She asked as she rose up and stepped backwards. "Miss you don''t have to be scared at all,I may not be Xian Xian but I can protect you and make you very happy. I can hold you very tight and you won''t be scared anymore." The stranger said advancing forward


    "I don''t know who you are so you would best stay away or else Xian Xian will beat you to a pulp." She warned still stepping backwards.


    "Miss I saw you crying and came to your rescue,such a girl as pretty as you shouldn''t be left alone don''t you think? I''m here to keep you company." The man said still coming closer. She tried to move backwards but then realized that her back was already against the wall. "I said stay away, I''m warning you." She warned again.


    The man held both her hands in the air and placed them against the wall,he was just about to kiss her.

 Chapter 78 - President Chen To The Rescue

    She closed her eyes and screamed. "Help me!" and suddenly like the wind,she heard punches and kicks. She opened her eyes and saw that a man was fighting the man that had tried to molest her. She did not know that the saviour fighting her attacker was President Chen! "Who is he? I feel like I''ve seen him before but where?" She asked herself.


    Chen Qiangu had beaten the man very much and left him on the floor. "Miss are you alright?" He asked, he hadn''t seen her face yet. "Yes, thank you." She said and came under the search light. President Chen almost couldn''t believe his eyes. It was Yin Mian, his darling Yin Mian standing right in front of him. "Yin Mian!" He exclaimed with joy, just like a deprived child that had just got of a glimpse of his mum after such a long time.


    "I''m sorry, do I know you?" Yin Mian asked. But just as he was about grabbing hold of her in his warm embrace, the man got up and stabbed Chen Qiangu with a knife.


    Yin Mian screamed, the man covered her mouth. She bit his hand and he pushed her away, her head hit the wall.


    President Chen got up even though he was bleeding profusely, he wasn''t going to let the man who messed with his darling wife get away with it. He managed to pick up a rod and used it to hit the backside of the man''s neck. He was trying to escape and after the u expected attack, the man collapsed.


    Chen Qiangu rushed to where Yin Mian was, she was fainting. "Yin Mian! Yin Mian! Please wake up, I can''t lose you again." Chen Qiangu was trying frantically to get her up on her feet.


    She opened her eyes. "Kitten please wake up, you''re my superstar are you not? So please wake up, I know you''re strong enough to overcome this." He tried to get her up. He was covering the right side of his rib which had been stabbed with his right hand and was trying to her up with the left.


    At that instant,almost like a spark,Yin Mian felt her head buzz. She starred at Chen Qiangu subconsciously. "You just called me kitten and a superstar? President Chen?" She asked weakly and fainted.

 Chapter 79 - Try To Remember

    Yin Mian opened her eyes and looked around. She couldn''t recognize where she was. It was a large nicely furnished bedroom. She sat up,President Chen walked in with a bowl of soup.


    "You''re that who helped me, are you alright?" She asked feeling really concerned. As President Chen sat down on the bed,he g.r.o.a.n.e.d. "Aargh!"


    "I''m really sorry, I hope it doesn''t hurt too much?" Yin Mian asked. "No,I''m fine and you need to stop worrying too much. I''m here to do the worrying, let me feed you some soup." He said to her


    "But I''ve just met you, I don''t even know you, not a single thing about you is known to me." Yin Mian told him. It was then that Chen Qiangu realized that Yin Mian had been asking the same question since he saw her again, who he was?. "Kitten don''t tell me you don''t remember me anymore, I haven''t changed one bit." He said holding her hands.


    She removed her hands from his. "I''m sorry but I don''t think I''ve met you. Although you saved me and I''m really grateful for that, it doesn''t give you the right to touch me like that. Only my husband can touch me like that, only my Xian Xian." She told him. "I''m your husband, what are you saying? Who is this Xian Xian you keep talking about? You''re Yin Mian and you''re my wife OK?" He said and hugged her.


    She pushed him away. "Stop this right now. It seems you''re even worse than that man you saved me from." She told him. "Yin Mian I don''t know what''s wrong with you but try to remember, I''m your husband and you''re my wife. I''m your President Chen" He said and brought out his phone. Then he showed the pictures they took together to her. He brought his wallet and showed her the picture of their family.

 Chapter 80 - Trying To Convince Her

    She held the picture and starred at it intently, she couldn''t almost believe what she saw. It was a picture of her, President Chen, Chen Yiren and little bun in her arms. Her parents were also in the picture and so were Chen Qiangu''s parents, it was a family photo.


    "See,just look at that photo carefully. This is you and that''s me, I''m your husband. These two, the boy and the girl are our children. That''s your parents and these are my parents." He said and pointed at each and everyone of them.


    "How can this be? This is just not possible, Xian Xian told me that my parents are dead so how can this be? And these children, I don''t even know them. I''ve never met them so how can they be my children? Moreover there''s a large wedding photograph of me and Xian Xian at our house,he''s been so nice to me, he couldn''t possibly be lying, so What kind of trickery is this? " She really confused, she felt her mind was being toyed with and she was also in tears.


    "This is not a trick, you''re Yin Mian and I''m Chen Qiangu your husband. The people in this picture are your family and whoever you''re talking about has been lying to you. I''m telling you the truth." Chen Qiangu said as he held her in his arms.


    "But I don''t remember any of this, the last one year I''ve spent with Xian Xian is all I can remember." Yin Mian told him.


    "Yin Mian I don''t know what''s wrong but please just believe me and try to remember, I think you''ve lost your memory." Chen Qiangu said confusing the more.


    " I''ve lost my memory?"Yin Mian stood up, she was already in tears. "Yes,that''s why you can''t remember anything but kitten just try to remember. It was last year,on a Thursday. You got a modelling contract and you left the house wearing a red dress,little Mengyao was crying after you and you were worried and you handed him over to Juan and told her to call the doctor but you couldn''t stay because you were running late. Mian please just try to remember." He pressured.

 Chapter 81 - Blurry Images

    Yin Mian closed her eyes and tried to search deep into her mind. The images and the shadows came again but they just weren''t clear. She felt very dizzy again. President Chen held her. "Take it easy kitten." He told her.


    "I can''t take this anymore, I keep seeing dark images. I want to see them clearly, I want to know what happened to me. If you''re telling the truth and what''s happening to me." Yin Mian told him


    "I wish there was a way to show you that what I''m saying is the truth." President Chen said and thought about it.


    "Come with me." He said and held her hand,holding her to the car. He took her to the hospital where the doctor confirmed that she was truly suffering from memory loss.


    "Doctor is there a way to help her regain her memory? Please tell me, I''ll do anything." Chen Qiangu pleaded with the doctor


    "Her head injury seems to have healed completely but there is the need to be careful so as not to stress her brain too much, you''ve seen the effect. You can try to get her to remember by recreating events that happened in the past. The atmosphere must be exactly the same as before. I''m sure that with that, she will feel a sense of d¨¦j¨¤ vu and her brain will try to react to it by showing her the images. They may not be clear at first but slowly it will all come to her." The doctor said.


    "Thank you doctor but how long will it take." Chen Qiangu asked.


    "It could take up to a year or more but if her brain reacts faster than we expect in a month or a few months,she might regain her memory depending on her retention capacity." The doctor said.


    President Chen thanked the doctor and left with Yin Mian. He was highly determined to do anything provided he got the love of his life back.

 Chapter 82 - Meeting With The Culprit

    When they entered the car,Yin Mian said. "I''m missing Xian Xian, he must be looking for me by now." "OK who exactly is this Xian Xian you keep talking about so that we could meet up with him." Chen Qiangu requested. He wanted to see the person who had been with his Yin Mian the past year and had had the guts to act as her husband thereby keeping her away from him.


    "His name is special, Lu Xianjian." Yin Mian said with a smile and almost immediately a frown etched on Chen Qiangu''s face.


    "I should have known, it''s only that rascal that would have the audacity to try to take you away from me." President Chen raved. "Do you know Xian Xian?" Yin Mian asked. "Yes,I so happen to know him but you have to promise me that you''ll do as I say if I get him on the phone?" He asked her.


    "Yes,I promise." She agreed. It was not hard for President Chen to get Lu Xianjian''s phone number from the internet. He called Lu Xianjian and gave the phone to Yin Mian.


    "Hello." She cooed into the cell phone. "Mian is that you? Where are you? Are you alright? Do you know how worried I am about you?" Lu Xianjian asked all at once, bombarding her with questions.


    Yin Mian said all what Chen Qiangu had instructed her to say. "Xian Xian I''m very scared please come quickly. I''m at 135 Sesame Street" Yin Mian told him and ended the call which made Lu Xianjian more frightened. He drove to 135 Sesame Street at once where he saw Yin Mian standing by a tree.


    "Flower I''ve been so worried about you." Lu Xianjian said and rushed to hug her. Chen Qiangu came out like the wind and pushed Lu Xianjian away from Yin Mian. It was punches, slaps and kicks that followed.


    "You scoundrel I''m going to kill you today, you dare to kidnap my wife and try to make her yours just because she lost her memory and became your vulnerable prey. I hope you didn''t touch a single hair on her head or else I swear I''ll break every bone in your body before making sure you spend the rest of your filthy life in jail." President Chen threatened while beating Lu Xianjian up.

 Chapter 83 - Argument

    "Please stop this, you''ll kill him. You promised me that you wouldn''t hurt him so keep your promise." Yin Mian shouted while trying to stop Chen Qiangu from beating Lu Xianjian up but Chen Qiangu wouldn''t stop. "Stop!" Yin Mian screamed and President Chen stopped.


    Yin Mian bent down to Lu Xianjian and c.a.r.e.s.sed his bruised face, she kissed his cheek and hugged him. It hurt President Chen very deeply.


    "Xian Xian please forgive me, I didn''t realize that he''s a bad man. I thought he wants to help me find you but he lied to me and now he''s doing the opposite. Do you know this man has gone crazy? He''s been telling me that I''m his wife and that I have two children, can you believe it? He even showed me some pictures which I think is fake." Yin Mian told Lu Xianjian, he smiled


    "Don''t worry flower, he''s just jealous because you love me so much." Lu Xianjian said eyeing President Chen.


    Chen Qiangu couldn''t take it, he rushed to Lu Xianjian to give him another beating when Yin Mian slapped him.


    "Stop this nonsense at once, I''m not your wife so leave me alone. Do you want to kill my husband and make me a widow? Now get out of here." Yin Mian screamed. Chen Qiangu was stunned and speechless but he wasn''t going to give up just yet.


    "Yin Mian I know you''re my wife and I''m your husband, this man is lying to you. Whether you believe it or not, the truth remains the same and I''m going to get this scoundrel arrested for kidnapping." Chen Qiangu threatened


    "Do whatever you want but the truth will prevail." Yin Mian told him bluntly.


    "Yes,the truth will prevail and everyone will see it,even you." President Chen told her.

 Chapter 84 - President Chen Gets The Last Laugh

    "Flower this is a trap and only you can stop him. Make sure I don''t get arrested." Lu Xianjian whispered to her.


    "But why are you scared? You''re innocent right?" Yin Mian was confused. "I''m not scared, it''s just that you don''t know this man the way I do,he has contacts and he''s dangerous. I''m sure he''ll bribe the police and even the judge to get me arrested and prosecuted under false charges." Lu Xianjian said to her in a low tune.


    "So what do you want me to do,be his obedient little slave? Till when? If we don''t stop this now,he''ll keep blackmailing us for the rest of our lives." Yin Mian told him, anger written boldly on her face.


    "I only need you to put up with him till I get evidence to prove his claims wrong. Please do that for me flower, aren''t you my darling wife?" He asked her teasingly. She smiled. "OK." She agreed.


    She walked up to President Chen who was standing close to his car. "I''m yours for now but you can''t come close to me. I''m only doing this for my husband." She told him plainly, he smiled.


    "You''ve always been mine and you always will be. As for the closeness issue, I''m your husband after all so it''s only fair that I can touch you anyhow I like." President Chen said and like a flash, drew her close to himself and kissed her.


    She wanted to resist but she felt a spark that held her to this man. When he stopped, she immediately realized herself. "What is wrong with you? Why did you do that?" She was very shy and angry and she stormed off.


    She took a taxi and left. Chen Qiangu would have loved to have Lu Xianjian arrested and locked up away but he had promised Yin Mian that he wouldn''t and he wanted to gain her trust.


    "Although kitten said I shouldn''t arrest you, doesn''t mean I can''t beat you up till you fall into a coma." President Chen said holding the collar of Lu Xianjian''s shirt.

 Chapter 85 - Making A Deal

    Lu Xianjian removed Chen Qiangu''s hand from his shirt. "I didn''t react while flower was here to have you at a disadvantage but it doesn''t mean I''m a weakling." Lu Xianjian challenged.


    "You should be grateful to Yin Mian because you''re still alive because of her, I''ll get you arrested and even if it takes me to use all my wealth, influence and contacts, I''ll expose you in front of Yin Mian and everyone else." Chen Qiangu threatened.


    "You should be grateful to me because I saved her a year ago ." Lu Xianjian said. "But all this can be averted if you make a deal with me. You saved Yin Mian and that''s the only reason I''ll let you off this time. I promise you, if you try a repetition of this, I won''t just send you to jail,I''ll make sure you rot in there." Chen Qiangu threatened.


    "What is the offer?" Lu Xianjian asked taking the best escape lane because if he didn''t accept President Chen''s offer, not only would he wind up in prison, he would loose Yin Mian forever. Thinking about it, if he accepted President Chen''s offer and passed this by,knowing that as long as he was alive and out of trouble, he would have his chance with Yin Mian again.


    "Although I don''t trust you one bit, it seems I have no other option. The doctor has said to create her past memories especially as they happened because it might just Jolt her memory. You''re the only one she trusts right now and I can only get close to her with your help so that I can recreate past situations and she can regain her memory." Chen Qiangu told him.


    "And what makes you think I''ll help you?" Lu Xianjian asked with a smirk on his bruised face. "Well, let me see,you don''t really have a choice because you don''t want to go to jail and loose your false hope that some day you''ll get Yin Mian to yourself." President Chen said as if reading Lu Xianjian''s thoughts. President Chen told him the plan and they were ready to execute it.

 Chapter 86 - Back Home With Kitten

    The first thing Chen Qiangu decided to do was to bring Yin Mian back home to China where she had grown up and was familiar with. In a few hours, the trio were sitting in a plane headed straight for Shanghai.


    Yin Mian refused to sit with Chen Qiangu and would only sit with Lu Xianjian. Well, that was all good and fine provided they got to their destination. Chen Qiangu somehow managed to suppress the feeling of anger and jealousy with in him when he saw Lu Xianjian talking to and c.a.r.e.s.sing his darling Yin Mian so lovingly.


    They arrived at Chen Qiangu''s residence at sometime after noon, Yin Mian froze on the spot as those icy,dark,greenish images that had haunted her dreams the night before came again. She felt like she had been in that house before, she could see so many dark images of people in a house but as much as she tried to recollect the images properly, she couldn''t and she felt frustrated as her head buzzed with another headache.


    "Are you alright?" Chen Qiangu asked noticing she looked weary. "I''m fine." She lied. Chen Qiangu could tell she was lying, she couldn''t look him in the eye. He showed their room to her,in the room was a big photograph of Yin Mian and Chen Qiangu on their wedding day hung on the wall. Yin Mian felt dazzled,how is this possible? She kept asking herself.


    Chen Qiangu went behind her and whispered in her ear. "That''s our wedding photograph." The words tickled her ear giving her some kind of eerie sensation. The images came again and she felt her head go berserk as she held on to it in pain. She cried. "Please stop messing with my head." She couldn''t take it anymore.


    Yin Mian ran out of the room while Chen Qiangu followed, she accidentally ran to the children''s room and closed the door behind. When she beheld the room, her eyes caught sight of another huge portrait hanging lazily on the wall. It was the portrait of their family, she ventured closer and starred at it with eyes of interest.


    She made up her mind that whatever was going on, she just had to find out the truth.

 Chapter 87 - Confusion On The Loose

    Who was lying and who was telling the truth, Yin Mian wanted to know so badly. She was beginning to understand now that Chen Qiangu had said the truth, she did lose her memory and that was why she couldn''t even remember a single thing from her past.


    But could Lu Xianjian be lying? She wondered, the man who had taken care of her so well and with love since she woke up from that hospital bed,could he have been deceiving her? The more she thought about it, the more it didn''t make sense. She was still wondering who or what to believe when Chen Qiangu barged in.


    When she saw him,she sat on the bed. He went and sat close to her. "I''m sorry for troubling you like this and though you might not remember now but you mean the world to me. My life was lonely and cold till you arrived and filled it with so much happiness and although we''ve experienced bad times in our lives,your presence always braced me up for the worst and gave me strength to face any challenge head on but when I thought you left me forever just a year ago, I broke down and my life became so miserable. I know that you''re confused and upset and it''s all because of Lu Xianjian''s tricks but I promise I''ll be here for you. The children and I need you in our lives and no matter how long it takes, I''m willing to support you till you regain your memory and I have my old Yin Mian back." Chen Qiangu said passionately holding her hands and starring into her eyes.


    Every word he said hit her like a bomb, the man in front of her had to be saying the truth, no one could ever lie so smoothly and fluently.


    He got up to leave but he stopped and she didn''t understand why. "Wait! I want to know what happened to me, everything about my past and you''re the only one I can trust. Just tell me what to do and I''ll do it. I just have to know, I don''t have the luxury of precaution." She voiced.

 Chapter 88 - We Meet Again

    Chen Qiangu was happy at her decision and walked up to her. "I knew you''d make the right choice, you''re my kitten after all. I only need you to follow my instructions, I''ll try recreate events from your past and you''ll get those images again and consequently, your head will hurt but hopefully you''ll regain your memory very soon. Are you ready for this?" He asked her.


    "I can''t wait around till it all comes back to me,that could take years and time is not a friend of mine, I''m ready to take the risk,I''m tired of being ignorant and taken for a fool." Yin Mian was determined.


    Chen Qiangu planned everything for the next day. He called Hua Vao and she came quickly. She ran to hug Yin Mian as soon as she laid eyes on her. "Yin Mian I couldn''t believe it when I heard you were dead, thank goodness you''re alive." Hua Vao happily said. Yin Mian couldn''t help starring at her strangely. "Why are you looking at me like that?" Hua Vao couldn''t help feeling strange at the look Yin Mian was giving her. When she didn''t get a reply, she turned to Chen Qiangu instead.


    "Why is she looking at me like that?" Hua Vao questioned. Chen Qiangu held her to a corner and explained things to her. She couldn''t help feeling bad for Yin Mian. "Why is fate so cruel to her? She''s gone through so much in this life time, she at least deserves a long life full of happiness. But you what? I promise I''ll do whatever it takes to help get her memory back. it''s the least I could do for my best friend." Hua Vao assured.


    Chen Qiangu told her the plan and she assured him all would go well. As he was about to escort her out, He Jiao arrived with the children. It was one heart breaking moment.

 Chapter 89 - Yiren Is Being Naughty

    "Yi...Yi...Yi...Yin...Mian." He Jiao couldn''t help stuttering, she thought she was seeing a ghost. "Mummy?" Yiren asked. Mengyao simply walked up to President Chen and asked. "Daddy is she really mummy?" "Yes son,she is." President Chen said as he bent down to pick him up but as soon as he had found out what he seeked, Mengyao turned immediately and went to hug Yin Mian.


    Anyone who saw it would feel for the child, so young yet so m.a.t.u.r.e. Yiren just stood there speechless. "What is going on?" She managed to ask.


    "Yiren come over here, come hug your mum. She''s finally back." Hua Vao said with a smile on her face but Yiren only frowned.


    "For your information, I don''t care. She should return back to where she''s been for the past 12 months. She doesn''t even care about us,just coming and disappearing whenever she likes. Better still, she could go jump into a river." Yiren snapped and Chen Qiangu had no idea when he mounted a thunderous slap on Yiren''s face.


    Her cheek burned red with pain, her tears flowed freely as she yelled. "She''s not my mum, I hate her!" And she ran to her room crying while He Jiao ran after her.


    "When did Yiren become so rude?" Hua Vao couldn''t help asking. "It''s all that naughty aunt''s fault. She keeps spilling out nonsense and Yiren''s so gullible to believe her." Mengyao said.


    "You shouldn''t have slapped her, she''s your daughter." Yin Mian finally spoke. "But she was insulting you and I just couldn''t take it." Chen Qiangu defended. "I was the one being insulted, why did you have to slap her? This could have been resolved amicably please go after her and apologize, talk to her." Yin Mian persuaded.

 Chapter 90 - Yirens Dilemma

    "OK, but it''s just for you."Chen Qiangu said and walked towards the direction of Yiren''s room.


    Yin Mian somehow felt a motherly feeling towards Yiren,like she wanted to hold her in a warm embrace, c.a.r.e.s.s her hair and tell her that everything was going to be okay and Yin Mian wondered why.


    Hua Vao left while Mengyao took Yin Mian to his room so they could play together. " Are you sure she''ll be OK?"Yin Mian couldn''t stop worrying about Yiren. "She''ll be fine, daddy''s gonna handle it so let''s play a game." Mengyao assured.


    Chen Qiangu opened the door of Yiren''s room and found her crying on He Jiao''s l.a.p with He Jiao patting her hair. "Excuse us." He said. "But Yiren''s hurt and she''s crying, she needs me right now." He Jiao protested. "Please leave I want to talk to my daughter." President Chen said harshly. His tone of voice took He Jiao by surprise and she got up and left.


    President Chen went to Yiren''s bed and sat by her. She turned her back on him,literally,with hands folded. "Yiren my darling, why are you doing this?" President Chen asked her imploringly. "I''m only doing this because I hate her, for the first time in my life, you''ve just slapped me and it''s all her fault." Yiren turned to him and said but she was still in tears.


    "Yiren just please listen to yourself. How can you hate her, she''s your mum?" Chen Qiangu inquired.


    "She left me, she left Mengyao and most wonderful importantly, she left you. She doesn''t care about us,she''s only pretending cause she cares only about herself. She gave birth to me and that I can''t change or deny but the truth is she''s never been a mother to me, always leaving me and it hurts so bad,it hurts here." Yiren said in tears pointing at the left side of her c.h.e.s.t,directly where her heart was located.

 Chapter 91 - Where Was Mum?

    Chen Qiangu hugged her and she cried some more. He patted her back as she poured out her heart to him. "Auntie Jiao has been the only one that''s been there for me,you were always busy with a meeting or out late. Auntie Jiao was the one who went with me to school when it was bring your parent to school day, I understand you were really busy. Where was mum then? When I had nightmares and couldn''t sleep, Auntie Jiao was the one who sang for me till I could fall asleep."


    "When you went on a business trip and I had a little fever, Auntie Jiao was the one who was with me throughout, she encouraged me not to be scared when I took the injection saying big girls don''t cry,where was mum all those times when I needed her? Forget about me for a minute but what about Mengyao, he was still so little then when she was said to be dead. For the past one year that he''s needed a mother because this is his childhood, where was she?"


    "Everyday the driver takes us to school, Mengyao sees kids being carried so lovingly and played with by their mums while being taken to school, where the hell was she then? On mother''s day,Mengyao refused to leave his room and the next day when he left his room, I sneaked into it and guess what? He had pasted posters he had designed on the wall of his room which said that he was ready to be poor, he didn''t want any car or a huge room, or numerous toys."


    "He said he only wanted his mother,so he could leave a normal life just like other kids. Daddy when I saw the posters, I was heartbroken, I shed tears. Where was mum then? After twelve months, she waltzes back to our lives and expects to be welcomed with open arms like nothing happened? No! If anyone deserves you, it''s definitely not her,it''s Auntie Jiao." Yiren screamed


    Chen Qiangu held his anger in and tried to explain to Yiren that Yin Mian had gone through a near death experience and lost her memory in the process and that Yin Mian needed their love and care now more than ever but Yiren refused to see reason with him,it was just like she had been bewitched.

 Chapter 92 - Acting Back To When We First Met (Part 1)

    Chen Qiangu stormed out of Yiren''s room while He Jiao smiled. She had been eavesdropping on their whole conversation. She was glad that her plan was working perfectly. Since the past year,whenever she was alone with Yiren, she had always poisoned her mind towards Yin Mian so that she could use Yiren as a trump card to get close to Chen Qiangu but with Yin Mian''s unexpected return, she was having a change of plans.


    She had sown a seed of hatred in Yiren''s heart and all she had to do was water it and let it grow into a big tree of bitterness. "Emotional fool." He Jiao muttered under her breath as she went into the room and consoled Yiren admist poisoning her mind the more. That was just phase one of He Jiao''s wicked plan,she soon began initiating phase two.


    The next day, Hua Vao arrived and told Yin Mian to follow her, she did. The previous day,Chen Qiangu had told Yin Mian to trust Hua Vao because she only wanted to help her.


    "We''re going to meet the King of entertainment." Hua Vao hinted while they were in the cab. "Who''s that?" Yin Mian asked. "Lu Xianjian of course, your beloved who you had a child with before he went abroad and left you stranded. He just came back after six long years." Hua Vao said systematically and carefully.


    Yin Mian remembered something, she saw shadows talking and a person who looked like a black image had said something similar. "Don''t stress yourself, you''ll remember everything soon." Hua Vao advised.


    They got to Lu Xianjian''s office and met a crowd of people. They tried to get in but they were denied entry. Hua Vao suggested they dress as tea girls and they did. Everything was made to happen as it happened before the only difference was that Andrea was replaced by another lady. Lu Xianjian talked harshly to her as he had done before, his words hit her like lightening bolts and just like magic, everything started to become clear.

 Chapter 93 - Acting Back To When We First Met (Part 2)

    "Beautiful lies? You left me six years ago and now you want to leave me again,you think this is teenage infatuation." Yin Mian cried as she remembered everything that happened eleven years ago.


    She fainted, she was taken to the hospital and Hua Vao was there. "Yin Mian thank goodness you''re awake." Hua Vao said and just then, Chen Qiangu walked in in the same audacious manner as he had done before and in his s.e.xy voice said. "I saved your life." Yin Mian starred at Chen Qiangu intently as she tried to remember. Just then a nurse walked in to give her a shot. Chen Qiangu and Hua Vao decided that was enough for the day and it was best not to overstress her.


    Both returned to Chen Qiangu''s residence and discussed the next plan. "I think we should use a memory recovery drug. That would go a long way in making our job easier, don''t you think?" Hua Vao suggested. "Yes, I agree with you." President Chen said and called the doctor, the doctor recommended a drug named memantine.


    It would aid her in recovering her memory quick. He Jiao was eavesdropping on their conversation and decided to use their plan to her advantage.


    He Jiao quickly went to the hospital pharmacy and bribed the assistant pharmacist. When Hua Vao went to that pharmacy because it was their company hospital,the assistant pharmacist gave Hua Vao a drug called Valium instead of Memantine.


    Valium was a depressant that it''s overdose easily caused memory loss and in Yin Mian''s case, it would further worsen her condition. Yin Mian was being given Valium and President Chen and Hua Vao believed it was Memantine.


    Yin Mian''s past was recreated but she remembered nothing at all but instead she started having side effects. Chen Qiangu and Hua Vao tried their best but nothing changed, Yin Mian only seemed to get worse. All their efforts were wasted and Chen Qiangu got really frustrated.

 Chapter 94 - He Jiaos Call

    After several attempts and nothing happened, Chen Qiangu started feeling discouraged. One event that President Chen was sure would jolt Yin Mian''s memory was the welcome home party that had been thrown four years ago after Yin Mian''s return from the hospital.


    A party was thrown and everything was perfect but still, there was no positive result. That was the limit and Chen Qiangu was ready to give up and accept his fate that he had really lost Yin Mian. He was so angry and started drinking.


    He got a call and he answered it. Finding out it was He Jiao, he wanted to hang up but her words stopped him on his tracks. "If you want your darling Yin Mian to regain her memory so you can have her back to yourself, come see me at Grand Luxury Hotel. I''m expecting you, please come soon." He Jiao said and hung up.


    President Chen left the party swiftly without even telling anyone. He drove as fast as he could to Grand Luxury Hotel, he felt a bit tipsy but he was able to control himself and prevent an accident.


    He got to the reception and asked of He Jiao''s room number. He got to her room and knocked on the door but it swung open. He Jiao was nicely dressed in a lingerie, she looked so beautiful and seductive as she held a glass of red wine.


    "Come in." He Jiao invited and President Chen hesitated a bit before obliging. He stood up waiting for He Jiao who closed the door gently and turned to him. "Please take a seat." She gestured as she sat on the couch.


    "I''m not here to chat with you,you know what I''m here for you so just play it cool and give me the antidote you promised." President Chen was direct. "President Chen, patience is a virtue and good things always come to those who wait." He Jiao said as she stood up and went to the table to pour them some wine.

 Chapter 95 - Falling Into The Demonesss Trap

    She poured them both some wine and came back to sit next to him. "Please just cut to the chase,I don''t have all the time to loose." President Chen was impatient.


    He Jiao smiled and handed a glass of wine to him and held hers. "I know that for the past few weeks you''ve been trying your best to get Yin Mian to regain her memory but all your attempts have failed. I want to help you because I consider you a friend and your children mean the world to me,they need a mother." He Jiao quipped.


    Chen Qiangu starred at her intently hoping that what she had to say could be of some use to him. "President Chen you haven''t touched your drink, please take a sip. It will surely relax your nerves." He Jiao persuaded.


    "No thanks, I''ve had enough to drink at the party I hosted." He declined, he didn''t trust He Jiao one bit. She understood and laughed. "Please take a sip,it would mean alot to me. If you honour my request, I''ll honour my word and help your wife." He Jiao threatened with a started. President Chen knew what she was getting at,she hadn''t taken a sip from her own glass. "Since you''re the one hosting me, I want you to take the first sip." He offered. She smiled and agreed. She drank some wine from her glass and looked at Chen Qiangu undaunted.


    Chen Qiangu took a sip and realized it was Yin Mian''s favorite wine. He drank a bit more. "So tell me." He started. "President Chen, I know your efforts have been disappointed and the frustration has made you impatient, so I''ll keep my end of the bargain." He Jiao said and got up leaving the room.


    Chen Qiangu noticed that his vision was starting to blur,he thought it was the effect of the alcohol he had taken earlier but it was much more than that. He felt weak,no,tired and really sleepy as his vision kept blurring the more, he tried to get up but he couldn''t and he fell on the bed.

 Chapter 96 - Finding Out The Truth

    Some few minutes later, He Jiao walked into the room and found Chen Qiangu asleep on the bed. She smiled, her plan had worked out perfectly. She had succeeded in drugging President Chen. She walked up to him and c.a.r.e.s.sed his hair,he looked so very handsome even when he was asleep.


    "President Chen you thought you could outsmart me or run away from me. Well sorry to burst your bubble but I''m way smarter. I didn''t put the drug in the wine, I rubbed it in your glass. I had a feeling you would suspect me and try to test me but you fell right in my trap. Now I have you to myself, you are mine,only mine." He Jiao said as she removed his shirt and c.a.r.e.s.sed his abs.


    She felt so good shamelessly touching him,she totally undressed him and stripped herself too. She started kissing him and I believe you know the rest.


    Meanwhile, Hua Vao was looking all over for President Chen,she had just found out that they had been giving Yin Mian the wrong medicine all along and that was the reason for their setback.


    She tried his number but it was switched off. Hua Vao wondered where he could have gone. She had wanted to give Yin Mian her medicine but found out it was finished so,she went to buy some Memantine from a nearby pharmacy and found out it wasn''t the same with the drug which had been sold to them.


    She protested and the pharmacist proved to her that what he just sold to her was the real drug. She showed him the empty sachet of the drug they had been giving to Yin Mian.


    He exclaimed and told them it was Valium and that it would only worsen her condition. Everything now made sense, it was no wonder that Yin Mian wasn''t recovering. Hua Vao wanted to inform President Chen but couldn''t reach him.

 Chapter 97 - False Accusations

    Chen Qiangu woke up with a headache and found out he was nude,his eyes scanned the room and then the n.a.k.e.d figure of He Jiao snuggled under a blanket hit him like a tornado. He almost couldn''t believe it, he cleaned his eyes to be sure it was reality.


    He immediately woke He Jiao up,she yawned softly. "What is going on?" He asked confused. "What does it look like? We were intimate last night." He Jiao snapped. "How? Why?" President Chen asked. He Jiao knew it was time to put her acting skills to the test.


    She started shedding crocodile tears as she formed a c.o.c.k and bull story. "I''m sorry President Chen, I tried to stop you but I just couldn''t. You were too strong. I went to get the drug and returned with it but by the time I returned,you had only a towel on. I sensed you were drunk because you mentioned that you came here from a party. You advanced towards me and made your intentions known to me. I refused because I knew you were drunk, President Chen you forced yourself on me." He Jiao continued wailing uncontrollably, you would almost believe she was telling the truth.


    "What you''re saying can''t be true,I would never force myself on you no matter what state I''m in. I only had a few glasses of alcohol and I was perfectly fine when I came here. I even drove here on my own. I don''t remember a thing of what you''ve just said and the last thing I remember is you walking out the door and that''s it. After that, I felt dizzy and blanked out so what you''re saying isn''t true,it can''t be." President Chen defended.


    He Jiao wouldn''t relent,she kept crying and accusing him of not believing her and raping her. "President Chen I can''t believe you did this to me. I am in shock and disbelief that I once adored and admired you, you were my role model but not only did you force yourself on me last night, you''re currently accusing me of telling lies." He Jiao enumerated. Chen Qiangu starred at her speechless and confused as hell.

 Chapter 98 - Sudden Events

    "I''m not trying to accuse you, I''m sure this is a misunderstanding." Chen Qiangu tried to control the situation. He Jiao stood up from the blanket and looked Chen Qiangu in the eye. She was so confidently standing completely nude in front of him,it shocked him greatly.


    "Do you call this a misunderstanding?" She asked gesturing to her parts. President Chen didn''t know what to say as he kept starring at her. "President Chen you''d better find a way to sort this out, I''m not letting you get away with this. I demand to have my respect back and you''ll give it to me." He Jiao said, wrapped herself with a towel and headed for the bathroom, President Chen couldn''t understand what she was driving at.


    He picked up his phone and found out he had twenty missed calls from Hua Vao, he knew it certainly had to do with Yin Mian.


    He decided he would sort out the intimacy issue with He Jiao later. He wore his clothes, left the hotel and drove home quickly.


    Chen Qiangu entered the house and met the doctor leaving. Hua Vao immediately told President Chen of her discovery and what the doctor had said. The doctor had said they were lucky as the Valium had not done much damage to her brain, it had been good that they had detected that Valium was being given to her quick or else, the consequence could have been much worse.


    The doctor prescribed the dose of Memantine Yin Mian would be given but told them it would take full effect slowly so as to counteract the damage done by the Valium. It would take up to a week or more for the drug to work fully on her. In the meantime, they were asked to exercise patience and still try to make her regain her memory.


    About two weeks later, Yin Mian was responding quite well and had remembered a few things but all hell was let loose when He Jiao broke the news to Chen Qiangu that she was pregnant with his baby and wanted to be wedded to him.


    He refused to accept the pregnancy even when He Jiao had threatened to inform the media that he had r.a.p.ed and i.m.p.r.e.g.n.a.t.ed her. He just wouldn''t budge but something eventually led to giving his consent to his marriage to He Jiao.

 Chapter 99 - The Blackmail

    Chen Qiangu had refused to accept responsibility for He Jiao''s pregnancy, He was sure that the story she had told him wasn''t true. Hua Vao also supported President Chen, she knew he wasn''t capable of such. President Chen stood his ground in the face of He Jiao''s threats that he would never marry her.


    She was angry and decided it was time for her to use her last trump card, Yiren. She told Yiren such foolish lies and the silly girl believed her and succ.u.mbed to He Jiao''s plan of blackmailing President Chen.


    He Jiao started an argument with President Chen. Hua Vao, Yin Mian and Mengyao tried calming the situation. Suddenly, Yiren appeared in their midst with a sharp knife systematically placed on her wrist.


    "Daddy I''ve never threatened you before but I''m dead serious this time,you have to marry auntie Jiao or else I''ll end my life." Yiren threatened with tears while He Jiao smiled. "Yiren stop this nonsense right now. Put the knife down, this is not child''s play,it''s a matter between a.d.u.l.ts." Chen Qiangu told her.


    "Do you think I''m kidding? The person whose been so nice to me is He Jiao. Daddy I''m sure you have feelings for her, why else would she be pregnant? The only thing that''s stopping you is mummy''s presence. You''d better sign this marriage contract right now or else I''ll kill myself." Yiren threatened and dropped a file in front of Chen Qiangu


    He read it. It was a marriage contract between him and He Jiao, He Jiao''s signature was already on it. "You must be nuts if you think I''m gonna sign this." President Chen directed to He Jiao.


    Yiren slit her wrist and screamed, blood gushed out profusely and that got President Chen so scared. He went to Yiren and held her in his arms. "If you want to save me, then sign this." She said pointing at the file with her other hand,tears in her eyes

 Chapter 100 - He Jiao Gets Her Way

    Chen Qiangu signed it and took Yiren to the hospital. Luckily, the cut wasn''t deep and her vein had not been affected. She hadn''t lost much blood. "Don''t ever do that again." President Chen told her in the hospital. "Dad I won''t, I promise. Thank you for signing the papers. All that''s left now is the wedding and it will be done in two days." Yiren said. "What? Two days?" President Chen asked.


    "Yes that''s ample time, I won''t let you change your mind." Yiren said and President Chen frowned. He Jiao was bursting with happiness, her plan had succeeded. She was really pregnant, that much was true but it wasn''t for President Chen. It was for her boyfriend and she planned to get rid of it as soon as she was married to President Chen.


    You could well say He Jiao was pure evil, the devil herself. He Jiao''s friend who happened to be her wedding hairstylist reminded her that she shouldn''t celebrate too much because Yin Mian was still married to Chen Qiangu and her marriage to Chen Qiangu would be nothing before the law. He Jiao told her she already had that taken care of, she would find a way to get rid of Yin Mian permanently, once and for all.


    The day of the wedding approached and He Jiao walked into the church in her glamorous wedding gown,President Chen''s face was the exact replica of a typhoon. No trace of a smile was to be found on his face, of course he was being forced to get married to this witch.


    Yiren was excited while Mengyao was sad. Meanwhile, Yin Mian was at home with Hua Vao. Hua Vao felt so frustrated and she told herself she wouldn''t sit back and watch Yin Mian''s married life shatter to pieces, she wouldn''t be able to forgive herself.


    Hua Vao in anger and frustration grabbed hold of Yin Mian by the shoulder and kept shaking her and trying to remind her that Chen Qiangu was her husband and that she needed to stop him from getting married to He Jiao. It didn''t seem to work as Yin Mian only starred at her like a fool.

 Chapter 101 - Stop That Wedding, I Object!

    Hua Vao angrily pushed Yin Mian away and it happened that the exact spot on Yin Mian''s head where she had suffered the injury a year ago hit the blunt edge of the chair.


    That seemed to do the trick as everything came back to her like a flash. She remembered every single memory like it happened only yesterday. What Chen Qiangu and Hua Vao had been trying to do for the past couple of weeks finally happened, Yin Mian had regained her memory.


    As Hua Vao sat and wept,Yin Mian walked up to her and tapped her. Hua Vao looked up. "We need to go now,we need to stop President Chen from getting married to He Jiao. I don''t want to loose my husband, I love him so much." Yin Mian said with a tone depicting urgency which shocked Hua Vao and she was sure Yin Mian had finally regained her memory.


    This was no time for a reunion or celebration, both rushed into the car as Yin Mian drove as fast as she could, it was purely by grace they had no accident. Yin Mian quickly came down from the car while Hua Vao followed.


    At that very moment, the priest asked. "If anyone objects to the union of this couple please speak now or forever hold your peace." "Please stop this wedding,I object!" Yin Mian screamed breathlessly as she ran into the church like one being chased. "Yin Mian?" President Chen asked. "President Chen!" Yin Mian said, ran to him and hugged him tight.


    President Chen was so happy as he had eagerly waited for this day since he found out about Yin Mian being alive. "President Chen I''m so sorry I couldn''t remember,I put you through so much pain and suffering. Please forgive me, I want you to know that I love you so much and I always will." Yin Mian said, hugging him in tears.


    President Chen couldn''t reply. He let himself drown in her warm embrace, he had missed it so much. The church was quiet and serene as the two lovers reunited but the moment was cut short by the abrupt sound of a bullet fired in the air.

 Chapter 102 - Critical Moment

    Everyone turned to the direction where the sound of the bullet had come from. It was He Jiao, she was the one who had fired the bullet in the air.


    She laughed wickedly and maniacally as she pointed the gun at Yin Mian. "I''ve come too far to let you stop me,I''ve tried to kill you once before. Yes, I was the one who tampered with the brakes of your car,it was because of me and only me that you were separated from your family and you lost your memory for the Past one year. what could I do? You came in my way and I always make sure to remove any obstacle on my path." She said and pointed the gun at Yiren.


    "And you na?ve little Yiren, you fool! You would believe anyone over your own family. How easy it was to trick you to get me exactly what I want." She said and pointed the gun back at Yin Mian.


    "I tried to kill you but just like a cat,you came back. I want President Chen to myself and nothing on this earth can stop me from having him,especially not you. This time, I will end your life once and for all. I''ll put a bullet to your heart and watch you die a slow and painful death." He Jiao said and laughed again, it actually sounded like an evil cackle as she maintained pointing the gun at Yin Mian.


    Yin Mian knew she was in a tight spot, one wrong move and her life was over, so she decided to act with wisdom and caution.


    "He Jiao why are you doing this? Please put the gun down I know you''re angry and frustrated, but this isn''t the best option." Yin Mian said and winked at President Chen giving him the signal to play along in the little act.


    Yin Mian advanced closer. "Don''t come closer or I''ll shoot." He Jiao threatened. President Chen intervened. "My darling Jiao, I''m not angry after finding out what you did because you were only trying to prove your love for me but I''m really disappointed, this isn''t the best way."

 Chapter 103 - Battle For Love

    "What are you saying, you''re trying to trick me?" He Jiao questioned. "No. What I''m saying is, I''m impressed because funny as it is no one has ever gone through so much scheming and stress just for me, for my love. You''re the first woman, you''re truly one of a kind." President Chen flattered but inwardly, he was suppressing his anger and urge to give her a slap.


    While He Jiao still pointed the gun at Yin Mian, she was looking at President Chen. Yin Mian used the opportunity to move closer to He Jiao. Once she was able to get close enough, she knew just what to do.


    "Now that I think about it, you''re so loyal and devoted to me. You can do anything for me. In fact,you''re carrying my baby, he is going to be the heir to my company. I''ve decided to marry you because I may never see someone as caring and loving as you again,even in another lifetime." Chen Qiangu kept distracting He Jiao while Yin Mian moved closer.


    As soon as she wanted to reply, He Jiao''s eyes scanned the room and caught the sight of Yin Mian very close to her,just a few steps away and she moved backwards. "I said don''t come any closer or I promise I''ll shoot you." He Jiao said shifting backwards as she prepared to pull the trigger while still pointing the gun directly at Yin Mian.


    At that moment, out of the blues, Yiren screamed. "Police! The police are here." He Jiao''s heart thumped in her c.h.e.s.t as she directed her gaze to the exit of the Church.


    Yin Mian used the opportunity to kick the gun out of He Jiao''s hand,Yin Mian was glad she had learned karate while in high school, she had just not found the right time to use her skills but this was the perfect opportunity.


    The gun fell farther from where the both of them stood. Both raced to get the gun but Yin Mian was faster. She picked up the gun and held it,pointing it directly at He Jiao as she had previously done to her.

 Chapter 104 - Final Show Down

    "No please, Yin Mian you can''t do this. You''re not heartless, please forgive me, I''m pregnant." He Jiao pleaded.


    "Don''t worry I won''t shoot, I''m not as heartless as you. When you were directing your evil blows at me, I didn''t complain but the moment you directed them at my family my dear He Jiao, you took a tigress by the tail. I will do anything it takes to protect my family from threats like you." Yin Mian said as she advanced forwards gun pointed at He Jiao who was moving backwards.


    "Yin Mian please have mercy, forgive me, at least have some pity on my child." He Jiao begged. Yin Mian put her hand down but she still had a gun,Yin Mian looked away. He Jiao saw this as an opportunity, she immediately went forward and was dragging the gun with Yin Mian. Yin Mian tightened her grip not letting go and soon enough, a gun shot was heard,the bullet had pierced into someone''s c.h.e.s.t.


    But alas,no matter how long the evil thrives,good good always finds a way to overshadow it and win in the end.


    In the process of dragging the gun with Yin Mian, He Jiao had accidentally pulled the trigger and the gun was still directed at her. A bullet pierced into He Jiao''s c.h.e.s.t as her hand slipped from the gun and she fell down unconscious.


    Time stood still, Yin Mian was petrified as the congregation in the church was as silent as a graveyard. The gun fell from Yin Mian''s hand as tears rolled down her cheeks, feeling guilty for shooting He Jiao.


    Yin Mian''s initial plan was to keep He Jiao in check using the gun pointed at her till the police arrived but most things never went as planned. Sadly, the ambulance failed to arrive on time and He Jiao lost alot of blood, her chances of survival were bleak but Yin Mian continued praying for her survival while they followed the ambulance in President Chen''s car.

 Chapter 105 - The Great Reunion

    He Jiao was immediately rushed into the operating theatre while Yin Mian walked the hospital tensed. President Chen tried to calm her down. "Why are you so worried about her? In fact you should be happy, she tried to ruin our whole family and in the end,she got exactly what she deserved."


    "I know but I can''t help feeling guilty about her condition. I really hope nothing happens to her. I know she doesn''t deserve our sympathy but think about the baby, it''s innocent of the mother''s crimes." Yin Mian said. "Yin Mian you are kind and you have a good heart,I keep falling in love with you over and over again but we all know she doomed herself. She was the one who pulled the trigger on herself. Handling the police won''t be a problem, you have so many witnesses, everyone knows it was just self defense and nothing more." President Chen assured.


    "It''s not about the police, it''s my conscience, if anything happens to her,I''m not sure I''ll be able to forgive myself." Yin Mian said still worried.


    Yiren came forward, she was in tears. "I''m sorry Mum, it''s all my fault, I''m such a fool. I allowed her to deceive me and even when Mengyao warned me,I refused to listen. You''re in this mess now because of me,I don''t deserve to be called your daughter. I failed you, I''m such a fool. I failed you, I''m so stupid." Yiren blamed and berated herself.


    "Shush! Don''t blame yourself. it''s not your fault, you didn''t fail me and you''re not a fool. Anyone could have believed that woman''s lies,especially when a person is feeling emotionally weak but trust me you''re not at fault, in fact, you saved my life with that smart brain of yours." Yin Mian said and hugged Yiren.


    President Chen and Mengyao joined in,it was such a great and happy reunion. They were finally together again, as a family.

 Chapter 106 - A Day At The Park

    He Jiao couldn''t make it. Sadly, the bullet had pierced her heart and she couldn''t make it, she died during surgery. If they had taken her a little bit earlier to the hospital, there might have been a slight chance she could have survived, the doctor had said but what''s done is done. She was dead and gone forever,never to return, hopefully.


    Yin Mian kept blaming herself, it pained her that the child had not survived, it was too young. Well the guilt didn''t last long. A few weeks after He Jiao''s burial, Yin Mian was back and happy with her family as if nothing had ever happened.


    "Why don''t we go for a picnic?" Yiren had suggested. "Yes,we''ve been through so many bad experiences lately. Let''s at least lighten up the mood." President Chen supported.


    "I agree with you both, it''s been long we went out on a family outing you know, have some family fun time." Yin Mian agreed. "Mengyao what about you?" Yiren asked. "My darling, silly sister, of course I''ll come with. Who would want to stay home anyway and miss finally spending quality time with my mum in the park." Mengyao said with a wink and everyone laughed.


    President Chen drove them to the park. They all came down from the car and Yin Mian carried the blanket while Yiren carried the basket full of goodies. Mengyao was so excited as he ran all the way into the park. "Mengyao slow down,you''ll fall and hurt yourself." Yin Mian cautioned.


    Yiren helped Yin Mian spread the blanket and arranged the snacks on the blanket, they all ate and drank. Yin Mian arranged everything back neatly and went to keep them in the car while Yiren and Mengyao played together with the other children.


    "Mengy you can''t catch me." Yiren teased. "I''ve told you not to call me that, reminds me of that cruel woman. Just wait till I get my hands on you." Mengyao said and ran after Yiren.

 Chapter 107 - The Phone Call

    As soon as Yin Mian came back, Chen Qiangu held her hand and drew her into his warm embrace. "President Chen please stop it,there are so many people watching." Yin Mian said shyly. "My darling kitten let them watch and see that my love you never dies or fades,it is as constant as change." President Chen said still holding her in his embrace, you would think they were newly weds.


    "Oh! I see you''re being so romantic all of a sudden, why is that?" Yin Mian played along as she left his embrace and tried to run off. He caught her hand. "Because I''ve missed you with my heart and soul." He whispered into her ear.


    "My dear President Chen, words can''t say how much I missed you and would love to give you a kiss but you''ll have to catch me first." She whispered back and ran off without a warning.


    President Chen chased her and caught her again in his embrace. "Now you have to fulfill your promise." He told her and just then, his phone rang,he disconnected it. It rang again and he disconnected it once more but when it rang the third time, Yin Mian cajoled him to answer it. "President Chen please answer it, it seems urgent." Yin Mian persuaded. "And miss my chance to flirt with you? Never." President Chen declined. "Come on,answer it please." She pleaded.


    "Alright just for you, kitten." He said and excused himself to take the call because the park was way too noisy and he couldn''t hear the caller properly.


    A few minutes later, Chen Qiangu came back, his face looked angry and firm. "Call the children now, we''re leaving." He just said and walked towards the car. "President Chen, is something wrong?" Yin Mian couldn''t help asking, she was worried. "I said take the children and let''s leave, stop asking useless questions or didn''t you hear me right the first time." Chen Qiangu said harshly and went to the car, his outburst shocked Yin Mian greatly and she obeyed and went to get the children.

 Chapter 108 - President Chens Strange Behavior

    The children got into the car and complained as Chen Qiangu started the car. "Daddy why are we going so soon, we want to play some more." The children complained simultaneously. "Shut up the both of you, it seems I''ve been way too lenient with you and that''s why you don''t know the difference between a time for play and a time to be serious." President Chen had yelled at them.


    The children were shocked beyond measure, President Chen had never yelled at them before, actually since they were born,even in Yin Mian''s absence. They wondered what could have made him so upset to the point that he yelled at them.


    The rest of the journey home was accompanied by silence, Yin Mian and the children were both shocked and afraid at President Chen''s outbursts and his sudden critical change of behaviour. Yin Mian kept wondering what the phone call was all about and finally took courage to ask him about it when they went into their room.


    "President Chen that phone call you made at the park, what was it about? I really hope it wasn''t bad news. " Yin Mian was worried and desperate for answers. President Chen walked up to her,looked in the eyes, held her chin up and said to her harshly. "Yin Mian never you ask or interrogate me about my personal life again or else, you will have yourself to blame."


    Tears formed at the edge of Yin Mian''s eyes and were threatening to fall,Chen Qiangu saw them and wasn''t perturbed in the least,he let go of her and walked out of the room.


    Yin Mian fell to the bed weakly and tears poured out. She was so hurt, she knew she wasn''t supposed to but she was used to being pampered and treated like an angel by him. So,this sudden temperament and weird behavior hurt her deeply.


    She cleaned her tears and made up her mind to find out what was really going on with her husband thereby causing his strange behavior.

 Chapter 109 - Suddenly Allergic? (1)

    That evening, Yin Mian decided to prepare some of President Chen''s favourite dishes to cheer him up and at least get him to discuss what the problem was so they could solve it together.


    She made chicken vegetable soup,spring rolls,egg rolls and dumplings. At the table, she tried to start a conversation but President Chen was unusually cold and quiet which was seriously freaking her out. After eating to his fill,he wanted to stand and leave the table when Yin Mian stopped him.


    "Wait, I saved your absolute favourite for last. You''ll love it." She said with a smile. "No thanks, I''m full." He said and was about leaving when she held him by the hand. "Please wait! Just a taste, even if it''s a few spoons. It would mean alot to me." She pleaded. "Alright." He said and sat back down.


    She brought a bowl of cinnamon beef noodle soup which she knew was President Chen''s favourite but surprisingly, he didn''t look too happy. He only maintained a straight face. He tasted it and a smile appeared on the edge of his lips but he tried to conceal it with a cold frown.


    He ate the whole soup and smiled with satisfaction. He was about leaving when he suddenly started sneezing. It was mild at first and Yin Mian and the children didn''t fret but soon it became very serious.


    Yin Mian gave him water and a tissue but it only worsened and soon he was scratching at his body as if he was itching seriously. Soon he had red bumps all over his body and he complained of a headache.


    Yin Mian was scared and called the doctor. The doctor came over and Chen Qiangu was examined, then an antidote was administered after which he slept peacefully. The doctor came out of the room and Yin Mian accosted him,she was so worried and full of questions.

 Chapter 110 - Suddenly Allergic? (2)

    "Doctor what happened,is he alright? Why was he sneezing so much and why did those red bumps appear?" Yin Mian asked impatiently. "Come down Mrs. Chen. I assure you,your husband is alright. It was just an allergic reaction and I''ve given him an antidote. He''s asleep right now but if he wakes up and there are still some symptoms, give him this." The doctor had said handing her some drugs.


    Yin Mian was dumbfounded. "What? An allergic reaction, how is that possible?" Yin Mian questioned. "When did he start having the symptoms?" The doctor asked. "Immediately after he had dinner." Yin Mian responded. "Then probably he''s allergic to a certain food he ate." The doctor said. "But doctor, I cooked only his favourites, I cooked them all myself and this is not the first time, he''s been eating those dishes even before we were even married." Yin Mian said


    "What exactly did he eat before the symptoms appeared?" Doctor tried to clarify. "Well, he ate chicken vegetable soup, spring rolls,egg rolls and dumplings but nothing happened. Surprisingly, after he ate the Cinnamon beef noodle soup I made, he suddenly started sneezing just like that." Yin Mian relayed.


    "Then definitely, he is allergic to one of the ingredients you used to prepare the soup." The doctor said. "But I used exactly the same ingredients I usually use every time, nothing changed. So how can he suddenly be allergic?" Yin Mian questioned.


    "It''s a bit strange though but it happens at times usually in pregnant women but some people may suddenly have allergy to a food they like due to hormones or change in their body system. It''s nothing serious, just try ask him what he''s allergic to when he wakes up in order to avoid repeating the same mistake." The doctor said and left.


    Yin Mian thought over everything and said. "Something is definitely fishy." She then went into their room.

 Chapter 111 - Growing Suspicion

    When she entered the room,he was awake. She went straight to the bed and sat beside him,her face creased with both suspicion and worry.


    "President Chen,what''s going on?" She asked curtly. "What do you mean?" He asked avoiding her eyes.


    "What I mean is,you have to tell me how you can be suddenly allergic to your favorite dish." Yin Mian said looking him straight in the eye.


    "I don''t understand what you mean,you must have made some kind of mistake while preparing it. Moreover why are you interrogating me for your own mistake, are you some kind of police or something." He replied rudely and there and then,she knew something was amiss.


    "You know what? Your sudden change of behaviour since the park has had me worried but now this sudden allergy and evasion of my questions have only made me suspicious. If there''s a problem please speak up and don''t hide it from, me. I believe we can solve it together." Yin Mian tried to reason with him.


    "I said there''s no problem, why can''t you just understand that,I just need some rest and your annoying questions isn''t helping." President Chen rebuffed.


    "OK ,I''ll leave as you wish." She said and got up. But on her way out,she turned to him and said. "This behavior of yours is new and if I didn''t know better, I''d think you aren''t my President Chen but just an imposter." She said and left.


    When she had left, he got up from the bed and went to the mirror, heaved a sigh and cleaned the sweat that had formed on his forehead.


    "It''s a good thing, she didn''t push this forward,or else I don''t know what would have happened. I need to be more careful but out of all the spices in the world why did she have to use cinnamon? I''m allergic to cinnamon. I should have asked but the food looked so tasty that I completely forgot to ask. I can''t ever let this happen again." He said and went back to the bed.


    Yin Mian who had been standing beside the door and listening quietly gasped. She had heard everything and her suspicion grew,it was either that man wasn''t her husband or there was something terribly wrong going on and she was oblivious to it.


    She now more than determined to find out the truth, her family and life were dependent on finding out the truth.

 Chapter 112 - Investigative Wife

    Yin Mian kept up her close watch on President Chen but found nothing suspicious. And then she began wondering if she was taking a mere accident too far and suspecting her husband for nothing.


    Nonetheless, she still kept a close eye on him. A few weeks later, on a lovely morning, President Chen left the house early as usual.


    Yin Mian was busy cleaning their room and taking out the laundry when she found a packet of c.o.n.d.o.m in the left pocket of one of President Chen''s pants.


    She was taken aback and the packet fell from her hand. She froze on the spot before finally finding the courage to pick up the packet.


    Tears fell down her cheeks as a weird realization hit her. Was President Chen cheating on her? Could that be the reason for his strange behavior?


    "No. No. No." She told herself. "I trust my husband with my life, he possibly can''t cheat on me. He loves me too much. Then this only means the man I''ve been living with for the past few weeks possibly can''t be President Chen but an imposter. Then where''s my husband?" Yin Mian spoke to herself as she felt pain in her heart.


    Just then, her phone rang waking her up from her reverie. She checked her phone and it was Hua Vao calling, she cleaned her tears and took the call.


    "Hello?" She spoke unsteadily into the phone. "Mian,I''m in trouble. Please help me." Hua Vao through the line in tears,her voice was breaking.


    "What''s wrong did something happen?" Yin Mian asked worried. "Mian I wanted to give you a surprise visit since it''s been so long and formally introduce you to my husband and son because when it all happened, you weren''t with us." Hua Vao said and choked.


    "Yes,so what''s the problem?" Yin Mian said urging her to continue. "I can''t anymore because they''re dead." Hua Vao said and the line went off.


    "Vao? Vao?Vao!" Yin Mian said as fear watched over her. She dropped the packet of c.o.n.d.o.m,took her bag and rushed out of the house. Her investigation would just have to wait.

 Chapter 113 - Bad News

    She called customer care for her phone''s network and had them track the signal. It came from a hospital,Chan Yu memorial hospital.


    Yin Mian went into her car and drove to the hospital. She enquired information about Hua Vao from the receptionist and was given a ward number.


    She went into the ward and saw Hua Vao unconscious. The doctor was attending to her. "Doctor please what''s wrong with her? Is she alright?" Yin Mian questioned as soon as she entered the room.


    "Who are you to the patient?" The doctor asked. "I''m her sister?" Yin Mian quickly replied. "Well you see the patient is in shock,she''s going through a traumatic experience. She just lost her husband and son in a tragic accident, she refuse to believe it and didn''t cry until she saw their corpses. She couldn''t b.a.r.e the shock and fainted." The doctor explained.


    "Poor Vao. I can''t believe this, life can be so unfair. She has done nothing to deserve this, she always goes out of her way to help every time. And now it''s my turn,I promise to do everything I can to help her." Yin Mian promised in tears as she held Vao''s hand.


    About two hours later,Hua Vao woke up and Yin Mian called the doctor. She was given a check up to ascertain if she was OK.


    After the check up, the doctor said she was free to be discharged but Yin Mian was worried as Hua Vao had not said a word since she woke up.


    "Doctor are you sure she''s alright? She hasn''t said a word since she woke up." Yin said to the doctor.


    "I''ve done what I could medically, the rest is up to you and her family, she''s still in trauma. She won''t respond to anything because her brain is in shock and in order to bring her out,you need to make her cry out by accepting the truth of her husband and child''s death. You have to do it soon or else it could lead to a mental condition." The doctor advised and left.


    Yin Mian stared at Hua Vao in tears as her close friend stared at her back as if she was in a trance.

 Chapter 114 - Suspicion (1)

    Yin Mian drove Hua Vao home with her. The children rushed to hug Vao when they saw but were shocked by her unreceptive behavior.


    "Mum what''s wrong with aunty Vao? Why isn''t she talking to us? Is she angry with us?" Mengyao asked.


    "No,she''s just tired. She just came from a long journey and has to rest. She''ll talk to you later,alright?" She pacified the children and they nodded in understanding before running to their room.


    Yin Mian held Vao''s hand and took her to the guest room,sitting her on the bed before bringing out her phone to call president Chen and inform him of the situation.


    She called but no one answered. After trying four times and it seemed like no was going to pick up the phone,she heard a voice through the line,it was the voice of a female.


    Yin Mian was rendered speechless as the thoughts of earlier came flooding through her mind. This time around, she was determined not to make assumptions and just find out the truth.


    She called Juan and had her prepare some food for Vao and the children while she went to the telecommunication customer care so the address of the call and where she suspected President Chen to be would be found out.


    She got there and after having to use her status to threaten an annoying employee,she got the address.


    Her heart rate increased as she got nearer to the address she had been given. What if he was actually cheating on her and she was about to walk in on her husband with another woman? She wanted to find out the truth because the suspense was killing her.


    She arrived at the address and saw it was a huge house. She parked her car a bit farther from the house,so she could maintain stealth. She dr.a.p.ed a scarf over her head and wore huge sunglasses before moving towards the house. She was glad it was in the neighborhood and so had no gates but she maintained coolness because she didn''t want to be caught snooping around.


    She was glad there weren''t much people passing by. She walked around to sides of the house and could hear voices coming from a window. She listened closely and what she heard not only shocked her to the marrow but also confirmed her suspicions.
