《Daddy Long - Legs》 Chapter 1 - Foreword There are many kinds of people that you will meet in this life. But, what if you meet many kinds of people in one person? Your world feels bigger. And you only need him in your life. Chapter 1 There is a boy who standing under the hard pouring rain. This boy has been standing with face looking up the sky, closed eyes. Noone knows how long he has been standing. Both of his hands are clenching hard and slowly loosened. Is he crying? No one knows. The boy slowly looks down and opens his eyes. He raises his hand and sees his right hand is shaking. He smirks. ''It''s likely,'' he thought,''I stood here for god-knows how long...'' And he will be scolded for sure, by his grandma. He chuckles and turns around, ready to leave the spot. He''s glad that no-one is around, or there will be whispers around him, saying he''s a freak or such. He is going to enter his car when he notices a shadow. The shadow is crouching down and the body is shaking. No, he isn''t afraid of ghosts. He already faced something scarier than ghosts. Their distances really not that far, maybe only 10feet length or so. He looks at the shadow and contemplating whether he should check it or not, since he is not a busybody. "Hey!" He shouted. He chose to shout since it''s raining hard and he''s afraid the shadow won''t hear it. He decides to walk towards the shadow. When he''s already two feet apart, he realizes it''s a kid. Maybe around 8 or 10 years old. He wants to mock himself. He''s also standing in the rain for long time. Why should he suggest the kid when himself also stay in the rain? The kid''s head slowly raising and turns around. The body is shaking hard, lips are apart and seems stuttering. He walks and touches the kid''s shoulder, but the kid''s eyes widened and before the boy can reacts, the kid falls. TBC Chapter 2 The boy has no choice, but to take the fainted kid home with him. He picks up the skinny kid and enters him to his car. Yes, he drives a car. Even though he is only 15 years old, but he likes to learn a lot of things, including driving (though it''s illegal for his age). He finally arrives in front of his house and the gate automatically opens. He gets out of the car and a man already appears. "Young Master Yu Mo, you finally home. Grandma is waiting for you." The boy named Yu Mo smiles and said,"I thought so. Sorry for the late too, Uncle Chen." He turns to other side of the car and opens the door. He picks up the kid and slowly walks toward the entrance door, ignoring the confusing face of Uncle Chen. Before Yu Mo can opens the door, the door already opened. He enters and sees the two maids are bowing. "Tell Grandma that I already home and I''m in my room to take a bath. Ask her to don''t bother me first. I will see her later." "Yes, Young Master." He walks up the stairs to his room. He drops the kid on his bed and take two towels from his cupboard. Yu Mo wipes the face of the kid''s face and taps it a little. "Hey," he said."Can you wake up?" No responses. Yu Mo sighs and decides to take a bath. Chapter 3 Yu Mo finishes his bath and fully clothed before he exits bathroom. He looks at the bed and realizes the kid hasn''t awake. He walks toward the bed and sits on it. His hand reaches to the kid''s forehead and immediately stands up. This kid is going to have a fever! Yu Mo presses the button beside his bed''s drawer and says,"Can someone bring me fever medicine and warm water?" "Okay, Young Master." Yu Mo goes to his closet and takes out his pajama. He doesn''t know whether it fits or not, but he has to change the kid''s clothes. He is so stupid, he should''ve change the kid''s clothes first, but he had to take a bath and only wipe the kid''s face. Now the kid is going to have a fever and may getting serious! There are knocks. "Come in." The door opens and reveals the maid with tray on her hands. "Just put it on the table. Thank you." The maid bows and quickly does as he ordered. Then, she exits the room. Yu Mo looks at the kid and says,"Forgive me. I am going to change your clothes, so your fever will not be higher." The kid doesn''t move. So, Yu Mo quickly changes the kid''s clothes. He throws the wet clothes on the floor, then he quickly takes the tray and puts it on the bed. "Wake up, kid. You need to drink medicine." After a while, the kid''s eyes slowly half-opened but immediately close again. "Hey, hey, hey. Don''t sleep. Drink medicine, then you can sleep all you want." "..." Yu Mo shakes the kid again. "Come on." The kid''s eyes finally slowly open again. Yu Mo sighs, relieves that the kid listened to his words. "Here." Yu Mo puts the medicine on the kid''s lips and he takes the glass to the kid''s lips. The kid swallows it and drink the water ''til empty. The kid nods and Yu Mo slowly lays him down. Yu Mo stands up and sees that the kid immediately asleep. He smiles and sits on his study desk. TBC Chapter 4 "Ugh..." Yu Mo who is busy doing something on his desk, looks at the bed and the kid is whimpering. Yu Mo stands up and walks to the bed. He fixes the blanket and touches the kid''s forehead. Not burning. He sighs and looks at the wall. The clock shows 10.15 p.m. Yu Mo is contemplating whether he should wake the kid or not, since he''s also thinking the kid''s family may searching for this kid. "...who are you...?" Yu Mo snaps and looks at the bed, seeing the kid''s eyes are blinking at him. Yu Mo also blinks and sits beside the bed. "You fainted under the rain. So, I brought you to my house. I''m sorry, but do you want to go home now? Your fever is gone and your family might searching for you." The kid shakes,"I don''t have family. I''m an orphan." Silence engulfed the room. "How old are you?" "I''m Ten. Gege (older brother in Chinese), you are older than me?" Yu Mo smiles."Yes. 5 years older." The kid smiles."Nice to know Gege." Yu Mo thinks a little. This kid has no families and why he sat under the rain? The kid smiles."I love rain. But I also hate the rain." "May I know why?" The kid looks at Yu Mo. TBC Chapter 5 "Xiao Ying," Yu Mo called."Let''s have a breakfast." Xiao Ying''s eyes slowly open and blink, seeing Yu Mo is smiling softly while looking at him. Xiao Ying slowly gets in sitting position. "Gege, what time is it?" "It''s seven o''clock. Time to wake up and have a breakfast, right? You haven''t eat since last night and it''s not good for your growth." Xiao Ying smiles,"I already troubled Gege a lot. I think I have to go now." "Hush, it''s okay. Yu Mo looks at Grandma and sighs while shaking his head. He is going to miss his Grandma so much. TBC Chapter 7 Yu Mo and Xiao Ying are sitting in the garden, looking at the maids who are taking care of the flowers. "Xiao Ying," Yu Mo called."Tell me more about you." "Why Gege wants to know?" So, I walked down and I didn''t know where to go, I just know that I have to live my life even in my hardest time and alone. But, I believe my parents are looking at me in the heaven. People said that when loved ones died, they always looking at you, from above or maybe they go down to accompany you and when you keep them in your heart, memories remained and you will feel warm..." Yu Mo keeps focusing how Xiao Ying talks and how he still managed to smile. Yu Mo knows that this kid will insisting to leave and Yu Mo starts to think to how he can helps this child. Yu Mo suddenly snapped out of his thinking when Xiao Ying tugging his shirt. "Yu Mo Gege, I think I will leave after this." "Why do you keep insisting to leave?" Yu Mo''s grandma''s eyes are widened and hurriedly walk to the balcony where the scenery unfolded. There is a large lake and mountains with clouds hovering above it. She misses this view so much! He keeps walking back and forth to the kitchen, to the living room, to his room while bumping to the wall. Grandma who always paying attention of this child realize this and looks at Uncle Chen. "This child is very nervous." "Yes, Madam. I realize that too." "Hm¡­ does Xiao Mo said he''s coming home today?" "Sadly no, Madam. Young master didn''t call me anything." Said Uncle Chen. "Help me call Xiao Mo. Now." Ordered Grandma. Uncle Chen quickly take the phone in the living room and dials Yu Mo''s numbers. Grandma takes it and puts it on her left ear. It rings for a while before Yu Mo finally picks it up. "Yes, Grandma?" A tired voice receives it and Grandma immediately holds her urge to scold her grandson. "Were you asleep?"
