《Beyond the veil.》 Note 1 - Spiral. ... Who? She continued to ask herself that. However, the answer to such a simple word, composed by three letters: Two consonants and a vocal, remained an infinite loop of headaches that couldn''t, ever, stop persisting. My head.. it hurts. That''s all she could think, that''s all she could understand, her very existence has started with pain...? Or has she simply just forgotten who or what she was...? ... Dark.Everything around, was a dark mix of pitch black and a sickening, glistening, almost alive pale grey. She could almost see the reflection of her violet eyes from the ever expanding translucent miasma. Her thoughts almost felt tangible and real, she didn''t know how to distinguish reality from fantasy, amidst this.. this.. Chaos. It was simply, pure, chaos. Almost as if this endless horizon was a physical manifestation of her broken, shattered mind. ... A pull. Her body - no, her soul, were being dragged deeper into the abyss.. she could seeeyesstaring at them even if there was virtually no light, because she couldfeel it,gnawing teeth in the dark, sinister imperceptible and almost mute laughs that sent shivers down her condemned soul. Yet she didn''t falter.. why? Why, as her very being is being consumed by the abyss, by the void.. shewants to live! ... She didn''t know her name. All she had, was a vague memory. Of a woman.. crying. A woman that sobbed as if she had lost something important, and she.. didn''t like to see this woman cry.. she didn''t know who this pale and clearly malnourished, stressed lady was... yet she saw a striking beauty, in her amethyst eyes.. a beauty that she felt envious of..strength. Without hesitating, she didn''t care of the leers, she didn''t care of the laughs.. she didn''t care of the pulls, all she wanted was to reach that woman, to be strong like her, to be invincible like her, toreachtowardsherand-- Agony. The pull wasn''t just strong now, but it was from both the out and the within.. as if a singularity formed within her very core esse, she choked back a scream, falling to her knees, her eyes dilated in a pain that went well beyond her own very understanding... Because a memory had resurfaced. "She laid sickly in a bed, alone, the ceiling of the hospital almost mocking her.. calling her a weak, fragile lamb with no direction or way, trying to find a meaning in the world. Everytime she coughed, hissing and lung shattering fits that left her breathless, some blood would come out, and she didn''t like the pain.. tears brimmed at the corner of her eyes.. she wanted to live like everyone else.. why was she born like this..." ... Her eyes snapped back open in shock, gasping, as she suddenly finds herself emerging from near freezing point cold waters, her arms flailing helplessly in search of something to hold onto... which, luckily, she found. A boat. A very small one, black, so, so black, it looked as if it was createdout of ink. She, with fatigue, manages to get on the boat.. she spits, she coughs out the water in her lungs, slowly, but surely, regaining her bearings.. ..she almost wish she had not.As her eyes looked forward, an expanse that made the twisted abyss from before look like an immaculate paradise..she saw oblivion. A dark shapeless...thing,surrounded by a spinning vortex of chaotic color that didn''t even make sense and she couldn''t believe even existed.. there was no light, no warmth, no sound in this distorted hell, just that colossal abomination.. the deepest, darkest corner of creation, something no one has ever escaped, returned from, and ventured in.. ..The past. Note 2 - Knock. Oblivion. This¡ is not something that should even exist in reality. It felt like a mockery of the self, a plague of one¡¯s subconscious, as the endless vorpal storms of madness pulled her deeper into the ¡°eye¡±, if it could even defined as such. Then¡ she actually remembered, this in no way can be reality, under any definition. She could not quite grasp what the ¡°eye¡± even was, but admittedly, as her mind fought tooth and nail to even keep a form, she wasn¡¯t exactly in a position comfortable enough to allow a careful assessment of the situation. All her strength was focused on remaining alive, for her whole to keep a shape, as this imaginary singularity spun with lascivious hunger¡ ¡®W-What even is this¡ it looks hungry¡ for me?!¡¯, she just got dumped in a vast expanse of shadows darker than the abyss from before, somehow, and if that was not enough, this black hole like thing was trying to rip her apart piece by piece. She barely even had memories of how human society functioned, but she had the feeling she¡¯d be an incredibly unlucky one by their standards, if she miraculously found herself back in the world of the livings ever again¡ world of the ¡®living¡¯, is to put it brief, she was not even sure if this was the world of the ¡®dead¡¯. It felt more like.. a limbo. But she didn¡¯t have any more time for thoughts or wishful thinking, as the pull she is desperately trying to survive, had just gotten more powerful.. her very ¡®self¡¯, slowly but surely, annihilated by¡ by¡ Just then, a memory bubbled up from deep within.. coffee. ¡°The fragrant smell pervaded the room, as soft hands served her a cup of the warm, boiling beverage. She had always liked coffee¡ just before drinking it slowly, and that could even take minutes, she loved to observe the vortex that formed at its center, as she spun the drink with a teaspoon. She looked at it, lost in thoughts, imagining to be an explorer of the unknown, of the deep, seemingly bottomless spiral, to learn about the never known before, of perhaps, finally comprehending her role in this¡ dull life, as she held back the painful coughs that burned her lungs and made her bite her tongue so hard, she felt the iron taste of blood.. and as she took a sip of the beverage, the two mixed¡ blood and coffee¡ how morbid.¡± Unauthorized tale usage: if you spot this story on Amazon, report the violation. She awoke from the memory with a gasp that alluded remembrance. She¡ must not fight the pull. That is what is hurting her¡ she spreads her arms wide, almost mimicking a bird¡ and the pull suddennly became gentle, warm, even if it morbidly shook her very soul and flesh¡ morbid¡ like blood and coffee. ¡ Light. Her closed eyes, slowly fluttered open, as with a groan of protest, she sat up¡ trying to regain her bearings, the departed finally observed her current surroundings. To her surprise, it was not again a pitch black world or an abyss. It was a small room, with a very small window high up into the wall to her right. She was far from relieved, though. There was no feasible way a black hole that tried earlier to gobble her soul up, could suddenly take her to a¡ borderline empty and desolated room, that didn¡¯t even have doors. She wondered, if she not had become utterly insane already and this wasn¡¯t just her broken psyche trying to put the pieces of her barely significant existence, together. At this point, as grotesque as the thought was, she did not want to exclude any possibility¡ but that would mean, she shouldn¡¯t be surprised of her sudden location through the help of outerworldy means, after all, she had been in flung down to the lowest pits of something worse than hell just befo¡ª A knock. She hears¡ a knock. But there was no door, how could someone knock? She looked around almost panicked, as the knocks increased in intensity, the force behind each nearly rattling her bones. She wanted this insanity to stop¡ they came from every direction, every angle, bar from the very one where it¡¯d at least make sense, the small window in the room, however, given the current situation, it seemed like an imaginary construct of her mind, given the knocks from every other directions, had become so strong, the whole room started to shake, and she held back a whimper of pain, as the knocks started to be felt in her head, with just as much force.. Quiet. The knocks had stopped for a moment.. she almost could not believe it, as she fearfully looked around, crawling back against one of the walls and she gripped her head tight, sobbing quietly due to¡ this all. She did not understand, even if she wanted to.. her eyes were closed tight, afraid of the knocks that would return, as if that would have stopped them in any way.. what felt like an eternity, though, seemed to say otherwise. The frail girl looked up¡ and her vibrant eyes widened in shock and disbelief... The room just before had been empty, a plain small basement that reflected nothing but a dead ray of light against its dusty, web covered corners that seemed to reflect the currently broken and abused state of her mind, and yet¡ and yet¡she pondered, as a cold shiver ran down her spine¡ ..Why was the once grey room¡ ..now so big, colorful and full of doors?
