Cover image is not owned by me. credits to the owner. Chapter 1 - Job hunting After graduating from the xx college I was searching for a job. Ughh job hunting is so tiring. I was not a bright nor an average student in college. I submitted my resume in many companies hoping I would get a job somewhere. My best friend, sara, the topper of the college got into one of the biggest company "jhonty". I heard that the company was run by a young man whose age is same as mine. I''m not jealous, well a little bit. Here I am breaking my head how am I gonna live and that guy has his life sorted. Sara insisted that I should also apply in that company. I know she is kind hearted but really? Do you think I would get selected. Even if I get selected I bet for my marks, I would be a bathroom cleaner. But sara insisted on submitting my resume. I made sure I didn''t get my hopes high. (A week later) It''s been a week. I got no replies from any company. Pressure was increasing. I got up from my bed. As usual I checked my phone and post box even before brushing. WAIT .. There is something in the post box. I prayed to god it was not a stupid spam letter. Chapter 2 - The Approval letter I slowly took the letter out. I dropped the letter in shock as soon as I saw "JHONTY" written in bold letters in the cover paper. I can already see my future. I was so happy that my expressions was not enough to express my emotions. I slowly opened the letter . I was selected!. Yes, I was selected! . I took my phone, called sara, screamed in joy for 15mins straight and I informed her that I was selected. " We have to visit the company , the next day itself. I was so excited that I started preparing that minute itself. The next day I woke up 2hrs before. Wore my best dress, checked each and every file and started out to the company. I first went to Sara''s house and we both reached the company. We were ?ssigned different position. Of course , sara got a higher position than me. because she deserved it. I sat on my desk. My manager ?ssisted me in my office and my salary was not that low as I expected. But one thing that I was curious was the president of this company. Chapter 3 - THE RULES I looked around . There were lot of people around me. Everyone looked so classy, except for my colleagues. Well, that was because I was at the lower most position . It was like college where everyone is smart except that 2 members in your project. Even though I was in the lower most position , every one seemed so focused and so dedicated. In one way it motivated me but it also scared me. I turned around and introduced myself to one of my college who was near my desk"Hey my name is Hannah.. Hannah Smith. I am new here. Let''s get along".He glared at me as he continued typing . " You are wasting my time" he said. "Wooh Did you save the world in this 2 mins " I almost said it loud. What a meanie. "The boss will fire us" he continued. Whattt.. why.. I thought to myself.He continued to talk while typing "Since you are new here, let me advice you. If you don''t want to get fired there are some rules you have to follow. Number 1.Don''t talk unnecessarily, Number 2.Be extremely polite to the president. Number.. " I stopped him. Chapter 4 - The Party I stopped him and said that I can understand. I understood what type of a person the president is after seeing the people working around me. They were like robots. But I have no choice but to follow. "My name is Tyler. If you have any doubts please don''t ask me".that colleague said. He was a meanie but I guess that was because of the work pressure. (A week later) A week passed, and the work load was heavy. Even though I was at the lower most position, I''m sure that I''m working more .Sara was busy.Even though we were at the same building, I rarely saw her. She worked on the 5th floor , while I was on the first floor. I noticed now only that the floor numbers corresponds to our positions. Tyler was not that bad of a person. He helped me out in my work. "There is a party tonight".He informed " Wow. It''s been just a week and I am already attending a party. But what''s the occasion? "I asked " It''s the 45th anniversary of the company and all higher officials would be present. So please mind your attire. Don''t let the company down. " Wait. Are you kidding me?. This dress is the costliest of all dresses I have . I never wore it to any occasion. Are u kidding me. "Ya ,sure " i said in a annyoed tone. We were allowed to go home early because of the party. I suddenly thought of sara. I called her. " Hey sara, let''s go shopping for the party" "N.. No.. I will not be able to attend the party. Something came up." Something wrong, I thought to myself. " Ya. I''m sorry but you have to go alone " " No problem. Take care " I can''t insist anymore. I said to myself that I will deal with that later. It was 6:00 pm when the party started.Now that sara is not here, I literally came for the free food. Suddenly I noticed a man, Tall, with sharp features , adjective adjective handsome man. I realized that everyone''s eyes were on him. Who is he? I thought to myself. After some time , I heard someone shouting.It was the handsome guy. He was shouting at a woman. I looked closely at the women. That was sara. Sara? "Do you have any idea how much this costs? " He glared at sara. Sara was trembling at that place. These rich people. Seriously. I Didn''t care about anything and just went near him and shouted " Do you really have to create a scene just because she spill some wine on you? " Little did I know that I was the rabbit entering the lion''s cave. Chapter 5 - The deal He glared at me. It nearly made me flinch . He walked away. I noticed that everyone was looking at me like i did something that i never should. I just turned and asked sara why she didn''t inform about her arrival. She looked at me and started crying. I felt bad for her. After all that guy insulted her in public . I just took her away from that place. I brought us some ice cream from the store to lighten the mood. "Here it''s your favorite" I gave it to sara . "Let''s not meet again" she said with a low voice. "what? Did I do something wrong. but,.. " Even before I started speaking she left that place. I tried to stop her, but i wasn''t able to. I suddenly regretted what I did. (A week later) It''s been a week .Sara behaved like she doesn''t even know me. "For the new comers, there will be a competition in the company. But it won''t be that easy . A highly important deal will be given and the one with the best presentation will be chosen. " Tyler informed as he noticed me getting lost in my thoughts. " You should give it a try " he said. "What? really?" Chapter 6 - Selected I really wanted to give a try to that competition. Atleast it''s a distraction. I worked so hard to give my best to it. It made me forget about all the worries i had. Even though the probability of me wining is sky high, i still wanted to give it a try. I submitted my presentation. A few hours later our company manager came and called me. I thought it was for some work. But he told me that i won that deal. I would have fallen from the staircase when he said that. "And we are currently going to meet the boss " Chapter 7 - Meeting the boss "We are currently going to meet the boss". And that was exactly what I wanted to do ever since I entered the company. Meeting the boss. And it''s finally happening. I''m so damn excited that I forget that we had elevator in our office and was taking the stairs for 15 floors. The president''s floor was at the top most and only high officials were located at that floor. That''s why we never get a chance to meet them. I arrived at the president''s floor. The manager told me to wait and entered a room that looked really classy. The door had "president" banner on it. I tried to see who is inside when the manager opened but couldn''t see. I''m gonna go inside anyways, I thought to myself and controlled my excitement. After 10 mins, the manager called me in. I entered and my eyes went on searching and observing the room. The president was sitting on the chair but facing his back towards us. Manager : Sir , this is Hannah Smith . The one with the winning presentation. He slowly turned. My eyes were stuck on him. IT WAS HIM. It Was the guy i yelled at in yesterday''s party. why? just why? out of 7.7 billion people just why him.Recently they found the black hole. can I just go there. ughhh I''m so screwed. I just thought I won the lottery but now.. ugh. Is this what they call suffering from success. I can feel you Dj khaled. Chapter 8 - The Start He stared at me. Even his eyes looked like they were mocking at me. who, on the right mind would offend their company''s CEO. And that''s exactly what I did. CEO-" wow what a coincidence .. miss..? I replied "Hannah smith" politely. It sounded more like please don''t fire me. The manager stood there quiet confused. CEO-"So you were the one who won the competition. Right? " "yes sir".And without any further thought I wanted to apologize for what happened last night." About last night.. " before even I could say another word .. he interfered saying " I hope you can just do your work and avoid meddling on other''s business ." I can sense his words were with satisfaction." And you will be personal secretary from now on" . What on earth. I should be happy but I''m not. He can better fire me. It''s clear that he wanna seek revenge from what I did before. I''m done for.
